Both my washer and dryer are Maytag. Dryer element shorted out but was still under warranty so was fixed. Washer is very loud and now makes a rattling sound. Every so often it will hang in the middle of a cycle and the lid wont open until I unplug it.

We have had our oven for seven years this past October 2015 and has now been down for three weeks. Last February 2015 (8 months ago) we had to replace the bake igniter because the oven would not get up to temperature. The most recent incident happened a few days after Thanksgiving (2015), I was cooking dinner and noticed that the oven was not reaching desired temperature. I then opened the door to see if it was hot inside the oven and when I did it must have ignited making a huge poof and flames came out at me! Thank God my 12-year-old daughter had walked away from cooking with me to answer the telephone because the flames came out exactly where she had been standing!!!I contacted Maytag and explained what had happened and how we could have had an explosion or someone couldve burned. The first questions they did ask me was if anyone was injured or any damage to our house?!?! I was happy for that however, it also told me that this has happened before! They called the Maytag repairman in my area and supposedly made it a priority call in which he could not come until 12/10 which was two weeks after this happened. Therefore, my husband and I contacted a different appliance man who came out and told us it was the temperature sensor. Since fixing it, the oven works ok and cooks properly however, when initially lighting/igniting it is extremely loud and makes a very large/huge poof! Its as if the oven is filling up with gas and eventually lighting! The other night when I lit it to show my husband it was so loud that it rattled the door and he immediately turned off the gas to it. I googled this and it said that its basically a mini explosion where the oven is filling with gas and then igniting! Its to the point that we could lose everything we have worked for just to make a meal! We spend over a thousand dollars on our beautiful stainless steel convect oven. Its gorgeous and when working works great however, Im petrified to use it now because Im scared to being burned or exploding! Now we start over and yesterday on Sunday I contacted the original Maytag repairman who said to call back Maytag again and hell come immediately. Maytag originally told me on the phone that they would cover labor and the service call however, ironically enough they did not write that in the dispatch order! Im outraged! What will it take before its safe for our family and home! My husband is ready to junk it and buy a GE however, we do not have the money especially before Christmas to do so. Oh and let me add that the first week we had the oven we had to call them for the window seal to be replaced because it was hanging. So now seven years after owning it and 10 months apart we are having major issues. What happens if its fixed and a year later it happens again? It could explode in our home!!! SCARED & IRATE WITH MAYTAG & WHIRLPOOL.

Called to schedule service for letters on door to be replaced ice and water completely rubbed off until you didnt know which one you were getting. Refrigerator is less than 10 months old. Also freezer door was hung lower than refrigerator door. Was told nothing could be done. It was a cosmetic issue. Very rude customer service dept and I talked to two separate people and they were both rude and unwilling to help. I can promise you I will never buy any of their appliances again.

Bravos washer is 4 years old. Started making an extreme amount of noise during the spin cycle. Had a repairman look at and showed me the bearings and area under the tub. $400 plus in damage due to bad bearings, rust to bottom of tub and surrounding area. Four years for a high-end washer is pretty bad. Needless to say, I will buy a new unit and would NEVER recommend a Maytag Bravos appliance.

Purchased washer in Jan 2013. Average usage is 1 load per week. Last week the washer started leaking from the rear left side. A service call discovered that the bleach dispenser was filling up with water and overflowing. Bleach dispenser?? I never use it! Seems that the new bleach dispenser hose line has a relief valve whereas the original part did not. Internet research has confirmed that this problem is very common with this make and model. However, a call to Maytag requesting what compensation, if any, would be available resulted in a response that basically was too bad... so sad... cant do anything for you! Seriously? An apparent common, known problem and all they can say is we understand your problem. Needless to say that will definitely be the last lonely repairman Maytag that this household will purchase.

Maytag Dishwashers work great. It cleans well and appearance is very good. I have always trusted Maytag appliances. Its quiet running and also energy saver. If I had to replace I would stay with Maytag.

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.

I purchased the Bravos washer and dryer suite. Since I was a small child I had heard my parents and others alike say that Maytag always had superior products as this is the reason when I was fortunate enough to purchase a new set I chose a Maytag brand. We that was the past and the present products et washers /dryers as the worst ever. I have had my set less than 2 years and today had to go out and buy a used one again. I have had nothing but trouble with these 2 and will never buy their brand of anything again. From the amount of poor reviews it appears I am not alone. I tried several times to no avail to have someone from the company contact me as I was put on hold too many times!

Maytag Centennial Washer - If a wash load becomes off balanced, the machine stops. No signal or buzzer or anything to alert me to this. It happens all the time and wastes a lot of my time. Here I am thinking that the wash is going fine only to find out 2 hours later that it has stopped. Anytime I wash more than 3 items, this happens. I will never buy one again and I am telling everyone not to buy. I will be purchasing a good old fashion washer with a dial gauge so I can spin it any time I needed.

I bought this stove thinking of the Maytag repair man commercial that was advertised on TV for washing machines. Apparently Maytag only knows how to make washing machines (I did not buy one of their washing machines after my experiments with their stove). From day one the oven door never closed right, the self cleaning oven device had to be replaced 3 times over the year after have a repairman tell me that they all fail. I stopped using the self cleaning feature. This stove has cost me so much in repairs. The cook top is very very hard to clean. It always looks dirty. All the plastic knobs have melted off because the oven door never closed right. And the knobs are crazy expensive to replace as is just about everything on this stove. The oven temperature can not be trusted never cooked at the temperature it was set at. I paid a lot of money for this stove 10 years ago. And I am finally able to replace it thanks to a Christmas present from my 3 children. I love to cook and this stove made it difficult. My advice is to look for a different company when buying a kitchen stove. This Maytag has been nothing but trouble for me.

I bought model MDBM601AWB3 in October of 2009. The control panel and wiring harness burned in August of 2011 after, at the most, running twice a week. I called customer service and talked to numerous people. All said, Too bad, out of warranty. I did a quick Google and learned it is a common problem and even a fire hazard with Maytag dishwashers. My wife, who was being treated for lung cancer at the time and was very emotional, got a hold of someone in corporate and literally cried that we could not afford the $600 to fix a problem they knew it had when they sold it to us. They relented and agreed to pay for parts; we pay labor. Today, 1/10/13, the control panel is dead again. I suspect it is the same problem as all they did was replace the panel and wires. This machine has obvious dangerous design flaws that they were aware of. I find it sad that a company can screw people like this and get away with it. What recourse do we have now?

The washer drum fills up with very little water, very little. I can do an entire load of laundry and the stuff on top doesnt ever get wet. Went on Spring Break in Florida and a month later our clothes still smell like the beach. Grill out, and I smell steaks the next time I put on the shirt. Stain your clothes in any way, its there forever unless you hand wash it first.To get it to work at all, each time I have to start the wash cycle (I leave the soap out just to save it for the next start), let the drum fill with water, pause it, get all the clothes wet, then cancel the cycle. After it drains and the machine is off and full of wet clothes, then start it all over again adding soap this time. On the second try, set at deep cycle, it will add enough water to cover the clothes - Im guessing because it senses more clothes because the clothes are now wet from the first, cancelled cycle. During the wash cycle, Ill open the lid and robustly move everything around, almost hand washing. #Handy. The dryer is fine, Im keeping it. The washer, cant return it - been three months of this frustration (kept believing it was me, reset it multiple times, change the settings, tried everything). Im buying a new one and throwing this junk out. $700 lesson.

I have always heard Maytag was one of the best so after replacing too many washers to count in 15 years, like Whirlpool and Kenmore, I decided to spend more for quality. I figured pay a few hundred more once rather than spending $400 for a cheaper one that only lasts 3 or 4 years. That choice seemed environmentally responsible and financially as well. However, I couldnt have been more wrong. In 2016 I purchased the Maytag Centennial top loader for $500. I really loved the size of the tub and the way it looked. I can fit a large comforter in it with plenty of room leftover. I also have no interest in a front loader after reading reviews. So I thought this was going to be great! Well it hasnt been. It has broken 3 times. The circuit board twice and now the bearings are going out in the motor. I fixed it the first two times but now Im done. Im done with Maytag, Aka Whirlpool. I think it will be a Speed Queen for me now. Im hoping it wont be a dud also because they are pricey! It actually scares me to spend that kind of money. I have really lost my faith in most companies nowadays. Customer service and quality has gone out the window. I think about how much this impacts the environment! Its terrible that appliances only last a few years before they end up in the landfill.

I bought this washer (Bravos Washer Model MVWX655DW) in June 2017. My wife and I did plenty of research and only complaint at that time was that it made load clicking noises. We bought it and it worked fine but never really filled with water to a level which would cover the clothes. Today I ran a load and brownish water was seeping out from underneath. When I lifted the machine my floor was covered with old stains which looked like oil or grease. I called a local service company and when they found out which model I had they refused to look at it. They said that particular model was known for having issues and when they fixed it, something else would go. They recommended looking online for reviews and calling Maytag.I did so and after explaining the situation to Maytag, they offered to send a technician to look at it to diagnose, not free of charge of course. While I cannot tell you avoid a particular company, I can say MY family will never buy Maytag again. If a washer is well known for having issues within its first 3 years and a company will not try to make it right simply because theres no recall on it I will spend my money elsewhere. Seems fishy that this machine has a ton of 1 star reviews within the last two months and Maytag does not want to eat the cost of servicing their junk.

We purchased a Maytag convection oven less than a year ago! Today is the 3rd time the heat sensor has gone on it! I want a new stove! I am beyond disappointed with the business and the product! Have always bought Maytag! Rethinking it now!!!

Purchased dryer less than 6 months ago and now have an issue with the powder coating bubbling up and flaking off on the dryer drum. Maytag says not covered under warranty unless found in less than 30 days. If I had know that I would not have purchased the dryer.

My Maytag over the range microwave has given me nothing but troubles since my purchase. The turntable off feature never worked, and now the side control panel is barely hanging on because of broken plastic connectors. The handle is now broken in half. I will never purchase another Maytag product. Buyer beware.

Maytag model #MDB6949SC, purchased Feb 22, 2015. In early May plastic parts from the top rack wheel assembly broke. Assembly unit replaced at no cost through the 1 year warranty. (cost = time and effort to arrange replacement with repair person). Same parts broke again in November - replaced at no cost again under warranty. Warranty expires in two months. If past performance indicates future performance, this part will need replacing twice a year at ~$140 per visit or $280 per year. Not a good thing. Called Whirlpool and with several calls and emails. They offered an extension of a year on the warranty. I think using plastic for this wheel assembly unit is a design flaw. Would not recommend this dishwasher.

A few weeks after I purchased my Maytag MEDC300 dryer in April 26, 2009, I noticed it gradually did not dry as hot as when I first used it but the element did not go out totally until April 2011. Now its November 2011 and the element is out again. Maytag is sending a service man, of course I have to wait until Monday, I am now inconvenienced 2 times in a year.Theres also what appears to be a burn mark on the back of the drum. Two years ago, I paid more than $400.00 for this thing and when it does work, you have to run it over and over again to dry your clothes. Wow! really energy efficient. What a piece of junk! I had my old dryer 10 years before an element went out. I did buy the Lowes protection plan that was sold with a No Lemon Policy. If the product requires more than 3 repairs for the same failure, theyll replace it, it says in the front of the brochure.In the small print on the back, it states 3 repairs for the same failure in one year. These companies are making money off us consumers who buy Maytag because of the name and what is supposed to be quality, and are ripped off by these insurance programs that say one thing but another in the small print. Big business is nothing more than robbers who get away with robbing the hardworking American people. When is it going to stop?

Worst washer ever. My clothes I have to wash a few times before they all get wet. Not a good washer at all. Has all the bells and whistles. Lets me know when the washer is done or its unbalanced... my washer is crap. Ive had it maybe a year now. I now have to buy another one. Why? Because this one sucks literally... its Maytag commercial technology.

Purchased a new Maytag washer (MAH5500BWW) and matching dryer along with the pedestal that they sit on in late November of 2003. Spent well over $1900.00 for everything including the delivery charge. I noticed the build up of mold/mildew inside the washer starting in early 2005 but cleaned it every week or so and it seemed to go away. As time went along the mold/mildew smell got stronger even after each cleaning that I did with bleach. Nothing seemed to help.It wasnt until 3 days ago when I had my dryer vent cleaned by a professional company that the technician looked over at the washer and said You know that washer was recalled and that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag about mold/mildew issues involving that model. He opened up the washer door and looked and was shocked. He told me that he himself had the same Maytag model washer and was notified by Maytag years ago about the class action lawsuit. He told me that he had received what he called a buy back check from Maytag. I wondered why I had not been notified since I had purchased both units new and registered both with Maytag after my purchase.I decided to do a search for my washer model number and looked for mold/mildew issues and was shocked to find thousands of complaints involving this issue with this model of washer. I then called Maytag/Whirlpool and this is where the fun begins. I called and explained to the customer service rep at Maytag/Whirlpool what the problem was with my washer and asked her why I was never notified of any recall or class action lawsuit involving my washer. After thinking for a minute or two she says that she is unaware of any problems with my model of washer and asked me to recheck my model number. I do this and again she says that she is unaware of any problems associated with my washer. I explain to her about the thousands of complaints on the internet about this mold/mildew problem and she then says I shouldnt believe everything I read on the internet.At this point I ask to speak to her supervisor which she says she transfers me to and the fun continues. The supervisor then tells me that the customer service rep whom I was speaking with is new and doesnt remember the issues with my model of Maytag washer but she herself does remember the issue of mold/mildew build up inside the washer. I ask her why wouldnt this issue of mold/mildew in this washer be in your system for this rep to be able to refer to? She then says that since this issue was so long ago its not in their system anymore. Huh???She asks me if I was part of the class action lawsuit involving this washer and I explain to her that I was never notified of any such lawsuit so I couldnt have been part of it. She then says that Maytag has since settled this issue long ago and since I missed signing up for the class action lawsuit I was just out of luck. Somehow its now my fault for them not notifying me about the class action lawsuit years ago!She then offers to send out a repair person to look at my washer and to look at the mold/mildew problem. I ask her if the service call was free and she snickered and said no, why would it be free? I tell her I thought it should be free because I paid nearly $2000.00 for these machines because I was looking to get the top of the line machines. Now I have a mold/mildew infested Maytag washer that smells and looks so bad its a assumed health risk. She again tells me that the service call will not be free and asks if I want her to schedule it now. I quickly decline!She then tries explain to me in some odd fashion that I should be happy that I got 10 years of service from my washer/dryer and hoped that I would continue to purchase Maytag. What??? Are you crazy woman!? Now its me who is laughing at this point. I almost say some very bad things to her but better judgment takes hold and I just hang up. Now you have heard my story and Im now looking for another washer/dryer so I can remove this health hazard from my home. I will never ever buy anything that has a Maytag/Whirlpool named attached to it.

Like everyone else Im calling corporate. Mr Fettig he should be in hall of shame after these complaints with their defective product. My fridge leaking, ice maker broken, water everywhere and eight inches of ice. I wonder if he owns a Maytag himself? Oh well after a while he might have a flood on his floor. This should be recalled just like my first model in 2001 that was a fire hazard. I had to go to the top then and I will now also. We should be protected from buying garbage while he makes 4 million a year.

I purchased the Maytag MDB8959SBS dishwasher back in 2014. I have historically been a Bosch guy when it comes to dishwashers but I have been so happy with my Maytag Maxima washer and dryer, I wanted to give their dishwasher a chance. Well, it has been a major disappointment, to say the least. For starters, it just doesnt clean that well. I am very careful in how I load a dishwasher. I do not put baking sheets across the bottom rack lol. Consistently we find dirty dishes. Then after about a 6 months, I noticed the paint on the adjacent cabinets were peeling in spots (near the top and bottom corners). I started feeling around the outside of the door during the wash cycle and there was a fair amount of moisture collecting around the outside of the dishwasher seal (or non-seal). Fast forward to about a month ago, I noticed a burning smell in the kitchen while it was running. Did the typical check the heating element routine thinking something fell down and was burning. However, it was perfectly clean. Emptied it completely and ran a totally empty load. The smell was still there. I eventually figured out the smell was emanating from the upper right corner of the door. Coincidentally this was right above the location of the control board. I grabbed a tool and carefully removed the front panel and discovered wires were melted (some fused together) and even the inside of the panel (which is plastic) was melted in spots as well.So yes, I could have contacted Maytag and sent pictures and fought with them over a repair but to be honest, I have no interest in keeping this appliance. It has been trouble since day one. Again, to be fair, I have had good luck with their other appliances but this was an awful experience and a total waste of money. I have since gone back to Bosch and could not be happier.

We replaced a 20 year old Kenmore washer with this Centennial washer (MVWC360AW), and after 2 years we are looking for another washer. The machine will not complete the wash cycle, and when we called for service, the factory authorized service tech couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. After 2 service visits in a months time, I tried contacting the company directly with my story to see if they would help resolve the issue. I sent them a letter by mail as well as on their contact us link on the company website. They have not responded to me in any form. We will never purchase another Maytag product, and will tell everyone we can how terrible this machine is and how the company apparently doesnt even care.

Bought the pair of Maytags on sale at Lowes 6 years ago. They are commercial grade and wash everything. Have had no issues - works every time. It took a while to get used to not have an agitator but now it seems natural. Would buy again.

Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7609AWB2 - The control panel on this dishwasher has just gone out for the fifth time since 12/10. Last time I also had to replace the control board also.

I purchased our Maytag Dishwasher in 2014 (Model # MDB77495B) and after a little over a year, of course after the warranty had expired the panel started to act up. I did get it repaired costing over $300 for parts and service thinking all is well. The repairman that came out had to come out twice once to look at and then again to fix after the part came in. We had a conversation and he said that was common with this brand, the steam sometimes affects the panel. I spoke with Maytag about getting an extended warranty but after looking at the cost passed on it. Well now the panel is acting up again. If Maytag thinks I am going to have another repairman come out well think again. I will see how much the part cost and do it myself if it cheap enough, if not I guess Ill be back to washing dishes by hand for awhile. I bought this brand feeling that it was American made and the cost was on the expensive side that it would last. I am disappointed that this has happened again. For the money spent it should last at least 10 years. My old dishwasher that was given to me used lasted over 15 years with not one problem. Its a shame we cannot get good working appliances as we did back in the day.

Maytag Bravos XL does not use enough water to wash a load, also does not rinse all the detergent out. I have tried smaller loads, less detergent, nothing helps. The loads have been so small that I have to wait for two or three loads wash before I can dry the clothes. Too small a load in dryer and the sensor will kick off that the load is dry.

Maytag Bravos XL - This is the worst product I have ever owned! I purchased a Maytag because when my husband and I were married 29 years ago we bought a Maytag washer and dryer and still using the dryer. However we lost the washer and had to replace it. Worst mistake ever!!! Within a year a circuit board went out (they replaced but I was advised I needed an extended warranty which I do have) and was told by the technician that this model was junk! I called Maytag and expressed my great disappointment and all I was told is we document customers input. I then ask ok so what are you going to do about it? And I did not get a response. I asked for a different model but was declined. As you can see it is rusting at only a 1.5 years old and tearing up my clothes. It destroyed a doily that belonged to my late mother. Maytag used to have integrity in their product but not anymore. Not only all of these issues but I have to wash clothes twice and they still are not clean. Plus they have a dirt film on them and yes I used THE detergent!!

Purchased my Bravos June 2012. This is a horrible washer. It does not clean. It leaves a detergent scum line on clothing. My work clothes are visibly soiled and sometimes come out in a tangled mess. Maytag ignored a first complaint from my wife. I complained again today. Regardless what Maytag does, I will purchase another brand after research. We bought on Maytag’s reputation.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator in November 2016. It is now the first week of June 2017 and the ice dispenser no longer works and the door alarm goes off incessantly and intermittently all day and all night. I am so sick of being woken up by the alarm in the middle of the night. I reread the manual and ran through the limited troubleshooting to no avail. I called customer service, sat on hold for a half hour, and scheduled a service call. As an interim stopgap for the pull-my-hair-out alarm issue, the operator suggested I disconnect some wires, as there is no off button for the door alarm. I wasnt dumb enough to do that and void my warranty. Best part of the call was when the operator offered to sell me an extended warranty. Well see how the service appointment goes, but I have a feeling this is the last Maytag product I will ever get. I am very curious about the lack of product recall as my research unveiled hundreds of complaints about the exact same issues I am having. Why does it seem to take a class action lawsuit before a company fulfills the promises in their advertising? Model number: MFI2570FEZ01 Purchased from Home Depot in Nov 2016 for $1,230.

I called Sears to have a simple repair done to my Neptune washer and received a quote for $800.00++. They gave us a coupon to get a new washer at Sears and we did. Last week my dryer broke and I looked the repair up on Youtube. It looked real simple. A quote for $270 was given to us. Again a coupon if we wanted to buy new. It seems to me Sears jacks the price up on its parts and labor in order to push the customer to buy new. So far its worked for them and Im sure everyone else as well. Its not going to work out for Sears this time. Im no longer doing business with them and I will do the repair myself. I still got stuck with the service call but that will end as well going forward because I know now what the game is. Shame on you Sears. Double thumbs down for my Maytag Neptune washer and dryers.

We just purchased a house with new appliances. They are Maytag. When I use my stove the oven heats. I have no idea why. I wondered if anyone else has had this problem. When I turn it off it turned off but it turns back on when the oven is on.

Bought a Maytag washer MVWC415EW in 4/2015. We dont use the washer heavily but over that time span the paint on the top cover and the side where the cover comes down has bubbled up. It looks like a bad rash but only on a washer. I think the company used inferior paint which can bubble up with the heat of the hot water during the wash cycle. I called the company but they do not cover cosmetic items on the warranty. I think since this was a flaw in the paint used they should at least replace the cover portion which would be an easy fix. Maytags are not what they use be! Last Maytag lasted 17 years with no paint problems or mechanical problems.

There should be a recall. Just look at the number of people complaining about this same exact occurrence about the control panel not activating. Im on my second control panel in 24 months. Some people are on their fourth already. Give me a break. There needs to be a recall and a redesign of this thing, which turned out to be a piece of junk washer.

Purchased model MBF1958XEB4 September 2012. The unit is provided with a bottom freezer. About 2 month age water was forming and freezing on the bottom of the freezer compartment and leaking on the floor. It appears that this is a common design flaw recognized by Maytag with an updated part available that is intended to correct this problem.Contacting the extended warranty company I was informed that this is normal maintenance and not covered under the plan. Liars!! One does not remove a car engine to change the oil. To correct this problem the refrigerator is required to be pulled from the wall, disconnected from power, remove the back lower cover, disconnect two wire cables, replace the drain tube and reverse the process. Normal maintenance - give me a break. The company promoting this phony plan is Federal Warranty Service Corporation in Atlanta, GA. Do not buy a plan from them and if you have one cancel and receive a refund if possible. Maytag get into another business because your product is junk.

Maytag 765 Washer - What a disappointment after having a Maytag set for 2 decades only to get a new one that isnt worth much quality wise. 2 new washers in 2 weeks due to a ratcheting noise that they both have. The solution??? Have a third service call only to hear, replace it (which we did) or replace the transmission. The 3rd call coming up will be the same. What good is a new transmission going to fix it when the last 2 machines had New transmissions. Quality??? I dont think so. Oh, I had to buy the second replacement in order to get credit for the first one. This was at Lowes. Is there even a quality washer out there anymore?

We had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 24 years, and when it was time to purchase a new one, I did a lot of research before choosing our Maytag. Reviews by other consumers who had purchased dishwashers was very helpful in making our decision, and we have had no problems in the almost 18 months that we have had this dishwasher. It is very quiet. It washes and dries the dishes with no streaks, although I wash off the dishes before loading them. Purchased Maytag dishwasher from Ft Knox Exchange in 2011, Model MDB6709AWW1; Serial # F04117463. Like most posts before me, the panel started failing after 2 years. Unit is now inoperative. I am attempting to fix myself using repair techniques Ive found online as I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to repair this piece of junk. Will never buy Maytag again.

We first purchased a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set. We loved them. Had them for 15 years with no problems. When we decided to get a new washer and dryer, we were loyal to the Maytag brand. I was immediately drawn to the Maytag Bravos XL due to the extra large capacity. What a mistake! This washer and dryer pair take more than two hours to complete a single load of laundry. It often takes more than one wash to get clothes clean. If you wash an extra drum large load of laundry, often times there is not enough water and agitation to even get all of the clothes wet. I have a one-year-old boy and a six-year-old boy, their clothes get very dirty. This washer Does not get food off of my one-year-old’s bibs. And my six-year-old’s clothes come out looking as if they haven’t even been washed. What a disappointment! My husband and I are going out today to purchase a new washer and dryer set after having just purchased these Maytags in April last year. What a waste of money! Please include me if a class-action suit it’s taken.

I just bought a brand new Maytag microwave a few weeks ago. The door is already broken! I’ve been sitting here 4 hours! waiting for a repairman man. No call, no show! I am missing work and gym time because MAYTAG sold me a faulty microwave in the first place! Never again will I buy Maytag products!

I changed from another HE brand to this model. No comparison. This machine can do twice the work... but double the time. My former machine was quiet while this one is not. Maybe I got spoiled to the former brand, but Ive never heard so much noise from a washing machine! Ive always thought Maytag meant quality but I think they may have missed the boat here. I tried reviewing on their site but when I gave it two stars, I got an error message. Clever, Maytag.

I am about to replace the control panel on my Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749SAM1) for the second time since purchasing it in 2012. Additionally, I have replaced the door gasket twice, as it becomes loose and does not properly seal, causing water to leak from the door during the wash cycle. There are many documented complaints of corrosion on the control panel ribbon cable necessitating replacement of the entire unit. If there were a way to replace the ribbon cable instead of the entire panel, it might be a bit easier to swallow the repair expense. Either way, it is ridiculous to have to spend almost 1/3 the original cost of the dishwasher to make it usable again, and twice in only 5 years time! My previous dishwasher was 30 years old and still functioning (though noisily) when I replaced it with this expensive lemon. I have not contacted Maytag, as it is not in warranty, however, it seems that a major appliance should last longer than a couple of years without issues.

Me and my wife bought a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot. The top half freezes up in a big way and it gets real frosted up I have to pull it apart every 2 months to defrost it. The bottom half starts to get warm if I dont do that. I will not ever buy another Maytag refrigerator again.

We are on our 2nd Maytag washer with the 1st being a top load with agitator and the second without. Both were also bought used. The 1st one broke after I was cleaning it so totally my fault but the second one the door lock broke. Aside from that they do wash clothes well and but I do wish there were more or different cycle settings. Overall they are good machines for out price. (Being used that is.)

I almost didnt write this review because it is just a repetitive representation of this machine. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED with this machine! I had a Neptune and after a few years, it started to spew oil onto the laundry WHILE it was washing! It ruined so much clothing before I figured out what was happening. Came to find out, it was a glitch with the machine that the company SUPPOSEDLY, sent out notices about but I never received. Now the Bravos X... Bought to replace the Neptune, as it was advertised to replace Front loaders. Would accommodate a KING SIZE COMFORTER with no problem... Got out of one problem to get into another!!!From the beginning, I wondered how does this machine get the clothes clean? How would it was a king size comforter? It doesnt agitate like the other top loaders. I figured it was a new top of the line kind of technology. My clothes started to tangle up really bad even though I was not filling the machine over excessively. The clothes were staying dripping wet over and over again. It doesnt matter how much clothing is being washed, they stay super wet. I have to go through the Drain & Spin cycle to finish the cycle. IT GETS OLD!!!! I HATE THIS MACHINE!!!! Doing laundry is a HORRIFIC CHORE for me. This machine is TERRIBLE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I CANNOT WASH ANY SIZE COMFORTER!!!After reading all these reviews, seeing how Im NOT the only one who is going through all these problems with this machine, I refuse to call any repair company! I wont spend another penny on this monster!!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG ANYTHING AGAIN!!! Reason for this review... So anyone who is considering buying a Bravos X washer, think again. You get what you pay for, you can go cheaper with no frills and watch how clothes wash, also run afresh through the washer as recommended. Also use the correct amount of detergent. Maytag isnt as good as it once was but it is the top of Whirlpools line of companies.

When my stackable washer finish its complete cycle, there is water left in the tub. You can manually turn the tub and you can hear water sloshing around.

If I could give less than one star I would. I purchased a Maytag range in September 2021, 33 days later the oven went out!! I have been fighting trying to get it repaired for months!!! The parts are not in, the parts have been shipped, oops we forgot to ship the parts, the technician is on vacation. You name it, I have heard it. After the phone call today, it looks like I will still be without a range at Christmas!! This is totally unacceptable. I purchased a Maytag because I assumed it was a good brand! Do yourself a favor... Never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool Appliance. Its not worth it. For the range to only work for 32 days is just plain Wrong....

I have not been satisfied with this Bravo washer since purchased 4 years ago. I have been holding back anger, hoping things would somehow improve. Clothes are never really cleaned, cant even fill washer with very many clothes because the washer goes off balance. It takes a lot longer to do laundry. Clothes spin so fast they are in knots when I put them in the dryer. I always have to iron clothes. Today, well today we have a leak coming from under the washer somewhere. So please tell me, what is the advantage to having a HE washer again? By the way, no warranty since its been 4 years. I will never buy another one.

You can not add water to the fill, blankets dont even get wet when you wash them, you can do double rinse but cant control the fill, have to sit there and lift the lid up and down for 20 minutes to get enough water in the machine! The washing machines have turned into absolute garbage! Wish I would have come here first, whats the difference if I control the load size water or IF I SELECT DOUBLE RINSE? Here is my question, this failure mode is obviously a designed in feature providing planned obsolescence to the device. Why is this company not being held to account for the damages in this case? Are all the judges that bought that no suit can be brought?Have all of you contacted your state consumer protection organizations regarding this issue? I would also recommend that you write both your state senator, the state consumer protection organization and any media outlets you can think of. High rate of control panel failure, devices activating by themselves when people are potentially away from the house, risk of fire or flooding... these are serious things and I would think a story that some news organization would surely be interested in digging into. Now that would serve to light a little fire under the Maytag organization if something like that was to occur.This sure seems to me to be a defrauding of the consumer - selling them a product at the top end of the price range that has such a significant design flaw that in the end can only be considered not fit for purpose. I havent yet contacted Maytag and Home Depot (who I believe are fully complicit in this as well), but I will be doing so to give them a chance to make this right, which I fully expect them to decline to do. Then I will begin writing letters. Am also considering small claims court. But above all, do not just accept this and move on! Companies like this need to be held to account, and they need to be reported so that others purchasing new devices in the future know to stay away from them.

Our Maytag Bravos Top loader with no agitator is headed to the junk pile after 1.5 years of BAD service. I honestly believe that whoever writes a good review on this machine is NOT an actual owner. Lets start with how it NEVER cleaned our clothes... The washer uses barely enough water to get the clothes wet. Soap remains in the clothes so the family is constantly itchy! If you add 3 additional rinse cycles, its still not nearly enough to get out the detergent and youre left asking yourself, What about the HIGH EFFICIENCY???? Next theres the issue of the water never being hot ENOUGH to kill bacteria (were back to the itchy thing). Its suppose to be an energy saver, but at what expense? Its not QUIET like promised (well maybe for the first few months). But upon opening the lid, you realize it was quiet because not a lot was happening to get the clothes clean. Now lets talk about the horrible smell... I dont know where its coming from... It occurs during the wash cycle and smells almost like a natural gas type odor. This is NOT because the washer wasnt cleaned once per month! Maybe its the bright orange RUST near the bleach dispenser or all along the inside rim of the lid... Remember its ONLY 1 and 1/2 years old. Before I get to the ISSUE that finally did this machine in... I have to mention the machines UNEVEN load response.. Brace yourself, it sounds like 1000 tribal drums... and if you dont readjust the 200 lb water logged load, it will just keep on filling up with water and draining indefinitely (so dont leave the house if youre washing jeans, blankets or sheets!). The FINALE of our machine is what I kind of always suspected it would be... the lid lock!!!! One day it stopped in the middle of a cycle and the door remained locked... After unplugging and retrying, the door unlocked, the buttons all worked, but the machine will not fill up with water or start a cycle. To be honest... I am so GRATEFUL! I get to buy a new machine and although Im pretty pissed that the machine died after just 1.5 years, we can finally have CLEAN clothes again, peaceful laundry days and get rid of the ITCHIES!!!! Bye bye FOREVER Maytag!!!!!!

We paid for a brand new washer and dryer from Maytag/Whirlpool. Right on the machines it has stamped in a metal plate 10 year warranty. So at 4 years when my washer started screeching and smoking I called for service. Yes, there had been a leak that burned out something in the engine and the bearings were shot etc etc. But they have been back 3 times. Each time they lack some part. I first called them on July 29, 2020. Today is October 13, 2020. They have still not got the washer repaired. I need to do wash every day. We are a family. We also have a senior in her 80s. And dogs. I need to do wash every day. So for weeks I went to the laundromat. That cost a fortune. Then a couple of weeks ago I impulse bought a new washing machine. A Samsung. On sale. Doesnt match the Maytag dryer. And the old washing machine got moved out to the garage. Its the pandemic. I cant keep going to the laundromat. What good is a warranty if Maytag/Whirlpool always has excuses for why they dont have parts. Its the motor. The very basis of the machine. It took them 2 weeks just to look for one. You wouldnt believe the excuses they make when we talk. But I am really unhappy with the way it all worked out. What good is a repaired machine 3 months later than I needed it. I had to buy a new machine. Why didnt they just tell me to do that on day 1 so I could avoid the laundromat. Why are they spending so much money to basically repair everything in that washer when they could have just bought me the new machine. When is a warranty not a warranty at all, but just a big lie?

We purchased the Maytag double oven 30 inch 5 burner, stainless steel, model MGT8885XS. Oven worked good for six weeks. The igniter broke in the bottom oven and when the third party non-Maytag repairman came out to fix it, he was unable to remove the bottom oven door. It is not flush and heat escapes when the bottom oven is on and it causes the top oven to get condensation. The repair man was directed from a technician from Whirlpool that he had to order a new seal and hinges. I dont want it fixed. I want a new one. I have called Customer Service for Whirlpool and the third party and the store in which I bought it from and everyone is pushing it off onto someone else. Customer service is poor and stated they will only fix the oven and will not send us a new oven. We sent our rebate in the mail which was to arrive within 8 weeks and we have yet to receive it. Very poor customer service. Glad I purchased the 4 year warranty. I will never buy Maytag again.

I bought a Maytag washing machine, model number MHW6630HW2 in January 2021. It works fine on ordinary loads, but it cannot spin the water out of bulky items, not on any setting. I put my machine-washable winter coat in the washer and it left it full of water. I re-tried on 4 different settings, and though the washer spins, it cant spin out the water. I went to the Maytag support site. The sites said my model doesnt exist. The phone number for support does not allow you to get any support other than a service call. The Chat option doesnt give a lot of support either. They said that if I call for a service appointment and the service technician finds that the machine does do a spin cycle, then the appointment is not covered under warranty.

Bought a Maytag refrigerator model #MFT2673BEW10 in 2013 for $2100, the ice maker has leaked for two years. Paid for service come out and look at it, ice maker is shot, three years old, and it is junk. Tried to get help from Maytag Customer Support, what a joke. I was hung up on 4 times, and never did get any type of help except your unit is out of warranty. Bought at the Maytag Store in Saginaw, Michigan. No help there either. DONT BUY MAYTAG!!! We had a three-year warranty which expired. We used a repair once for a rusting Clorox basin. Now, the tub swings wildly on every wash and will not complete because we get the UL warning. Weve tried making sure the washer was balanced but confirming that nothing helped. Most expensive washing machine ever and shortest life apparently.

This is an awful product. I bought this product from Best Buy at the beginning of August 2018, and can no longer return it because it’s past their 14 day return policy. This washer does not wash clothes well. No matter what setting it’s on, clothes come out looking dirtier than prior to washing. Maytag should do what is right and refund customers for this worthless purchase.

I purchased two Maytag appliances; PC-touch control 500 Electric Smoothtop and a dishwasher. In less than two years, I have spent over $1,000.00 repairing these two appliances. With my stove, I have replaced the PC control board and the oven light kit. Less than a year and a half, I now need to replace the PC control board again. I have been a Maytag customer since 1976. The dishwasher had a recall for the heat element and I replaced the control panel control board and door lock switch and the main control board. I will never buy Maytag again.

Purchased the very top of the line Maytag Washer and dryer.. Top loader MVWB955FC1 washer. I got this huge washer and dryer because I was tired of paying $20 to have my Cal King comforter laundered. Bad idea.. Yes the comforter fits easily in the drum of the washer but it does not even come close to clean.. Why no agitator..? It leaves soap all over it in addition to the dirty laundry smell.. The dryer is better but it takes at least 3 cycles of taking it out and un-wadding it to get it all the way dry. Now my wife just hangs it on the line.It has been just over 3 years Feb 2017 since I bought both units from HH Gregg.. Now the top of the washer around the soap dispensing orifice has rust bubbling up worse than my 25 year old unit I put by the curb.. Maytag support is no help.. “Sorry rust is normal and it your unit is out of warranty”. I asked If this would have been covered under warranty.. NO!.. Not unless you report it within 30 days.. We only use it once or twice a week.. What terrible service..

The bottom oven of my Maytag double oven range (serial #MER6765BAS18) caught fire while I was baking there. The coil burnt out and separated. This did not occur due to food spill or other means. The coil was charred. The stove top does not perform adequately and the coils do not heat uniformly.

My mother always said Maytags were the best but I never bought a washer and dryer until about 5 years ago and both are the worst appliances I have ever owned. The washer has rust all over the bleach container and smells to high heaven and I clean it with Affresh all the time. The dryer doesnt dry well and the washer doesnt wash well. I am trashing both and buying some new ones.

We purchased a Maytag front load washing machine and dryer about 5 years ago. The front load washer is completely full of mold even though I have always followed the directions of wiping it out after each wash, leaving the door cracked, washing the machine with Affresh and even trying bleach and vinegar rinses. When I called customer service they refused to do anything about it. Then the dryer stopped working after 5 years and we had to get it serviced. Now, the door has completely come apart, as in every little piece has come off the handle and surrounding door frame. I have never seen anything like this on the oldest of machines and I have taken care of these appliances. I will never buy another Maytag...

Purchased a Maytag refrigerator less than two years ago. Model M1txegmyb that was nothing special. Main purpose was to keep food cold/frozen. Now it makes noise and will not freeze anything. We called Maytag and they told us to take a hike or pay $469 for a new compressor on a fridge we spent $650 on. I would never buy their products again because the quality is so poor. Reading the other comments we have decided to throw the unit out at this point as we have pledged never to give Maytag another dollar.

The first washer my husband and I ever purchased was a somewhat cheap top loader but it worked very well for over 10 years. We decided to fall for a bargain sale at Home Depot and went with the HE Bravos model. We were told that it would save us money and work great! From day one weve had issues. It never really seemed to clean right. It gets thrown off balance if you have more than one bath towel in a load at a time. After an angry call to the company and a somewhat helpful customer service rep, I began washing every load at the deep clean heavily soiled cycle and then did an extra rinse to boot. So much for energy efficient. So, fast forward 4 years, I HATE this washer but cant justify a new one at this time. Now, it stops mid cycle and I have to unplug it then plug it back in and restart it. When this happens, there is an awful smell. Needless to say, well be buying a new washer within a week or 2 and you can bet your life, it will NOT be a Maytag.

I have always stored clean dishtowels and oven mitts in the storage drawer of my ovens (for over 50 years). I bought a new Maytag (2 days old) and was cooking in the oven tonight. I opened the drawer to get a mitt and it was on fire!! I am shocked. How dangerous is that! I looked over the manual and there is nothing that says towels cannot be stored in the drawer. It was literally on fire. I emptied the contents of the drawer into the sink. Has anyone else had this problem?

The low water usage design is horrible. Clothes dont get clean as it doesnt use enough water to cover them. Takes twice as long to do a load as our old washer. Took about 1 1/4 hours yesterday for 1 load using heavy which is the only setting that uses more than a thimble of water. Should have looked for a commercial type with a real agitator and adequate water usage. Not saying Maytag is probably any worse than any other brand of new efficiency government mandated garbage washer, but its no good.

Such a horrible and expensive kitchen purchase. The stainless looking pieces are either fake or very poor quality - they scratch so easily. After the first year of use the top of the stove looked like it was 30 years old. The oven glass is extremely hard to get at to clean - you have to remove very finicky screws that dont go back into place easily. Oven temp is questionable and it takes a very long time to heat up. I would never recommend the Maytag Gemini oven to anyone.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo in 2011. With only three adults in the house using it for regular clothes washing, we were surprised when we had to call a repairman and the charge was going to be over $500 to fix the transmission and clutch. We had the same problem as described in many of the other comments, i.e., door sensor would not work properly and machine would not spin. Not even worth it to fix. Word is that Maytag is made by Whirlpool and if this is true, it would explain the disappointment. We have replaced more Whirlpool appliances than I can count. Never again Maytag!

Well, I thought I was buying quality products dishwasher and refrigerator and both are very disappointing. Of course the Maytag dishwasher (MBD7749AWB2) really upsets me since I just bought it in Aug of 2011. Now it will not finish a load of dishes and I did what the lady at Maytag told me. She said it was the control board. But it is not the control board. It is still working the same as it was. Now what should I do? I had bought Maytag Dishwasher MDBH979AWW3 in Sep. 2009. Oct 2011, the dishwasher stopped working and the control panel had to be replaced, few days later, it stopped working again and the Thermal fuse had to be replaced. Now two months later, it stopped working again. Till this point, Ive spent a lot of money on the repairs and I wish I had used that money to buy a new dishwasher. Looks like not just the Maytag dishwashers are faulty, but even the parts they have are faulty. I will not recommend any Maytag products to anyone.

I have had the fridge 3 years and 2/3 shelves have crumbled to pieces, the compressor has gone, the ice bucket crumbled, the ice maker stopped working, once ice maker was fixed it got stuck on crush, and now I am trying to order another shelf because it has also crumbled like the rest and this is in a household of 1 person! I am just getting the run around... I have been redirected to 3 different numbers now (800-344-1274, 866-368-6478, and 877-468-2371) and now I had a rude customer service rep so I asked if I could speak with someone else and I am now on eternal rot on hold. Pretty sure he didnt even transfer me and Im just sitting on hold on his line while he is laughing. Time to hang up and try again another day. #un**believableI was also told that if I purchased the extended warranty plan that it would cover the crappy shelves in the future so I did and now they are telling me it doesnt cover them and it only gives me a discount on them. MAYTAG YOU OWE ME A NEW FRIDGE... THIS ONE IS A LEMON! Bought the washer in February 2012 for $900 at a local appliance store, delivery included. Just yesterday (10/16/15) a 5 cent piece of grey plastic flew out of the lid lock mechanism. Thinking this $900 modern piece of machinery painstakingly designed by intelligent people with university degrees would certainly work if I just stuck the plastic part back in. I just popped it back in, the lid locked, and the machine spun away happily (only having to run a correct cycle for an unbalanced load twice! What joy!) Fast forward 40 minutes, I skip down the stairs to go retrieve my flannel sheets (because its October in Pennsylvania, its getting freezing cold at night) and pull up gently to open the lid. It doesnt budge. About 2 hours later, following a screaming match and some furious googling, it was determined we would need two people to pop the entire top off the machine to extract my sheets.So in order to use the washer to clean clothing now, weve been unplugging the machine. Removing the three screws on the control panel (aka brainbox), unplugging the black and white wire from the brain box, taking the control panel off and sitting it on the dryer, and using putty knives to push in the metal clips holding down the top of the machine down, and prying the entire top of the machine back on its hinge. Then I can get my clothes out. Then doing so in reverse (dont forget to add detergent before shutting the lid! It will lock and you will have to pop the entire top off again.) to use the washer. All because of a 5 cent piece of PLASTIC. What brainchild figured, Eh, we can just use plastic for this important piece that the washer wont run properly without. It doesnt matter!? Someone that wanted to make $300 a pop doing service calls thats who.I cant believe Maytag has gone so far down the tubes. In case anyone else ran into this problem and needs to fix it, write down the model number, serial number, and other crud listed under the lid. Then use them to wipe while youre in the bathroom. All you need is the company and part number on the lid lock mechanism. According to Maytags website my washer doesnt exist. And there was no way, no matter how creatively I googled, to find a part for it with the Maytag model number. So now I have to try to find this measly mechanism to replace and try to use this piece of crud for a few more months. I guess my Christmas present this year is buying a new washer. And you can BET it will not be a Maytag.And two more things: with no agitator, you can fit really big stuff, but you also get to hear your washing machine dancing on your basement floor with an uneven load. No matter how many times you try to re-position items, it runs a corrective cycle, refills with water, and spins everything into a ball AGAIN. Also, the miserable thing is starting to rust. Right on the sides and near the lid hinge, and all around the bleach receptacle. How cheap, a washer on which the paint rusts right off with chlorine bleach.I wish I still had my Grandpas old 1930s wringer Maytag. At least I knew that one would work without a cheap piece of plastic. And at this point I might prefer wringing my clothes to hearing my washer try to escape. In short: cheap parts, no replacements available through company for DIY repairmen, company designed to force customers to use their servicing for $300 a pop. 1/10 would NOT recommend Maytag.

Our circuit board has went out twice. The stove is not designed well. The oven vent sends hot air over the plastic panel / circuit board. It melts... The first one was under warranty and the second, only three years later, was not. This is a very expensive part and Maytag will not even talk about giving me a discount.

I have a French door fridge Maytag like everyone else. The bottom freezes over and I have to de-ice it. Now the freezer doesnt want to cool. Its 3 years old. Total piece of junk.

We have a purchased a Maytag two door refrigerator a few years ago despite my wifes repeated request not to buy any Maytag product. We had a bad experience with another Maytag product in the past. Now like many others we are experiencing the horrible nightmare of getting a water leakage from time to time that floods our tiled floor and it is getting worse and causing damage to floor and other kitchen cabinets that are anchored to the floor. We had a certified technician who suggested us to thaw the freeze and then reconnect it back. We did what we were told but that did not fix the problem. My wife found out that there had been 913 complaints from consumers on Maytag refrigerators. Why Consumer Affairs is doing nothing about it and why there is not a recall of Maytag refrigerators. We will never buy another Maytag product nor will we recommend others to buy. Enough is enough being discontent.

Built a new house, bought new appliances for the kitchen. Like others, did all the research, wanted to buy American made. Wow, did we ever make a mistake. Refrigerator is just over 2 years old. It is worthless. Repairman, Maytag Certified, says that it appears to be internal problems and probably come from the factory that way. He suggested I contact Maytag directly and they should be able to make things right for me and my family.So, I called, sat on hold for 10-15 minutes, and was finally connected to a customer service employee. I explained all that I knew about the problem, she pulled the repairmans notes and the notes of the technician that had spoken with the repairman. After reviewing the file, she informed me that my 2-year-old refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing that could be done.What ever happened to American Made companies standing behind their product? I didnt spend $2000 on a refrigerator that would last me 2 years. I expected 7-10 years, AT LEAST! I expected a company with the name MAYTAG to show some shame for creating a piece of junk and charging a customer this much money for something they know is obviously flawed from the factory. Shame? No. Guilt? None whatsoever.Caution to those considering a Maytag product. Run away! Go find a more reputable company. Go find a company who views customer service and quality products as a priority. I didnt purchase the cheapest refrigerator on purpose. I paid extra for American made and what I thought was a quality product sold by a quality company. Reality has now set in.

Did not know of the lawsuit or recall. Now I have to buy a new washer after fixing it out of pocket and mad that cant get part of the settlement. Not ever going to buy Maytag again!!

We bought a Maytag Centennial Washer in 2011. 6 months ago the control board went bad. Maytag has an exorbitant replacement price! I went to Ebay and bought a NEW board for 1/7th of the price Maytag wanted. The old board was marked revision B. The new board is revision F! That indicates to me that the board was defective when it was new and they have made 5 attempts since then to fix it! No recalls however. Now the motor is shot. I found out the motor from Australia is also inferior! So this 5 year 3 month old POS Maytag is going to the dump! We will shop for something made outside the US. No not a Samsung. I think there should be a class action suit against Maytag.

I absolutely do not like the fact that you can’t choose what size load you have. The washer wants to do it for you but it is not very good at it. You have to fool the washer to get any kind of water level or just use the deep fill every time which is what I do in order to get the clothes clean! This defeats the whole purpose of trying to save water. Also there are too many settings. I mean we’re just washing clothes here not flying a jet. I personally would prefer dials instead of the digital instrument panel. So much easier.

Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine Model MHW5500FW1 and if there is a class action lawsuit please include us! We have owned other Maytag Washing Machines and never experienced such an epic failure as we have with this washing machine! We were so excited when we purchased our new Maytag washer/dryer set in March of 2018 we even remodeled our pantry/laundry room to accommodate them! As the chief operator of the washing machine, I have literally cried at what a mistake weve made! We have no complaint of the Maytag dryer. Let me describe my new normal procedure for laundering a load of clothes. First, load the washer with clothes then press power/cancel then press rapid wash let the clothes get HOPEFULLY saturated with water then hit hold to start and then hit power/cancel this shuts off the washing machine. I then press power/cancel again and select normal and the water empties out of the washing machine from the prior load and then starts to refill, if the add a garment light comes on (when it wants too) and no I dont change any pre-set settings I am able to add extra water with a pitcher, if this procedure works I let the washer run its 1-hour and 48-minute cycle. If not, I have to start over again because the add garment light wouldnt come on to allow the door to unlock. After the clothes are finished I again press power/cancel then hit rapid wash put my fabric softener in the dispenser press hold to start and let it run its 36-minute cycle making sure my clothes are rinsed appropriately and not stiff because of the lack of water. I neglected to say that when Ive tried tricking the washer and think I am able to add extra water, if Ive added too much the sensing kicks in and the washing machine drains all the water out on its own and refills with the little water it allows! Which is maddening! I throw up my hands and sit down and cry!!! I have contacted Maytag/Whirlpool complaining about the lack of water and their wacky water sensor! I asked them how can you conserve water and electricity when you have to wash your clothes over and over with long wash cycles? This doesnt make sense! My white clothes are now dingy and stiff as well as the colored. Maytag says you can use powdered detergents if its HE High Efficiency powdered detergents, but thats not true. The detergent doesnt dissolve and ends up on the clothes at the end of the long wash cycle because of the lack of water! From the beginning I adjusted the amount of powdered detergent for the front load washer and have to dissolve it in hot water prior to washing and hopefully am able to add it to the clothes if the add a garment will let me! I have now resorted to extra cycles to rinse out any remaining detergent hoping my clothes will be soft and fresh smelling. I had planned to replace my old Maytag agitator washing machine with this piece of junk front loader, fortunately we kept our old washing machine as a back up!

Purchased a new Maytag dishwasher three years ago. After having it for one year the panel box no longer worked. Had to pay $300.00 to repair. Now half way through washing the dishes again no water will go into the machine. Only the first part of the cycle. I am sure it is going to be the panel box after reading other peoples problems with this machine. I will not pay to have it fixed this time. I will have to buy a new dishwasher. I will never purchase a Maytag product ever again. I have lived in my home for 40 years and never had a problem with any appliances. This would have been my third dishwasher in 40 years and as you can see it has not even lasted 4 years. I will inform my friends to stay away from Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag top load HE Bravo 700 3 yrs ago. I only wash 3 loads of laundry a week and the bearings went bad in the washer! Maytag/Whirlpool will do nothing to help me because they say I should have purchased the extended warranty. Well there is NO WAY that I could have worn out those bearings; it was a manufacturing defect that caused them to fail and hundreds of people online all say they have the same issue. The repair cost is $400 and would only have a 90-day warranty so I might as well purchase a new washer. Home Depot (where I purchased the washer) has been very helpful and is offering me help on the purchase of a new washer, but even they could not get Maytag to do the right thing and repair my Bravo. I am going back to a none HE machine with an agitator. This has been a horrible experience and Maytag has no business putting commercials on TV that say they are dependable.

Unless you’re doing laundry for an army don’t buy the Maytag commercial washer MVWP575GW. I should have gone with my original choice but my husband was concerned with the durability and warranty hence why we purchased this washer. It’s just the 2 of us and I frequently use the delicate cycle. Unknown to me at the time you can not adjust your water level so if you’re washing delicates plan on wasting a lot of water unless you only wash your delicates once a month. In my opinion delicates are undergarments, blouses, etc. delicate cycle in “deep water wash” only. As far as we can tell the wash cycle at its longest is 8 minutes which I guess for commercial grade is probably correct. However there is a presoak option that I don’t the believe does the work of a longer wash cycle. If you have to do a quick scrub on a piece of clothing as the washer is filling up you can not do this as everything stops once the lid is up.Last but not least the washer is loud it sounds like it’s going to break down at any minute. I’m sure many of the issues people have with products today are due to government regulations. I’ve tried contacting Maytag customer service on numerous occasions to see if I’ve been doing something wrong even though I’ve read through the operating manual several times, I’m currently on hold for 20 minutes. Doing the laundry has never been the highlight of my day but I never minded it until now. I absolutely dread it now. My suggestion would be if you like the features on your current washer, spend what you need to to get it working properly which is what I wish I had done with my 23 yr old washer. Worst purchase I’ve ever made!

The control (computer) stopped working. The Maytag Centennial washer would not turn off. I had to unplug it from the electrical outlet to get it to stop. The repairman had to replace the computer panel. He said it had burned up. I bought this machine from Lowes on January 11, 2011. It lasted 15 months and cost me $265 to get it repaired. I called Lowes and because I did not buy the extended warranty, they would not even talk to me. When I pay about $500 for a washing machine, I expect it to last longer than 15 months! I will never buy another Maytag appliance! Customers beware: these products are a bunch of junk. Even the repairman told me so.

First we design the cheapest, flimsiest drawer possible on the bottom of the stove. Then we mount it on cheap plastic guides on a flimsy metal track. What a joke! Listen, drawers have been around over 700 years. If you cant do better than that, you need to look for another line of work.

I bought Washer and Dryer Pair new less than 2 years ago. Within 6 months of purchase, the bearing went - warranty. Then 1 week before one year old, bearing went again. I contacted Maytag. They told me it was my problem and I should have bought extended warranty. Lemon law should apply and I asked about appeal process and was told that there is no such thing. Now, the washer is needing a new pump and it is not even 2 years old!

My washer is about one-year-old. Several months ago I noticed a brand new shirt was damaged after laundering. I thought it was inferior material. A couple of months later I saw a similar situation with another garment and started being more careful with the laundry settings using delicate, short, light washes, etc. The problem has happened a THIRD time to another garment. It appears this washer has a hunger for delicate jersey type fabrics. I started reading online and found out at it is indeed the action of the agitator and I need help rectifying the situation.

I purchased a white Maytag gas stove over 12 years ago. It has been great and never caused any problems. I live alone and rarely use the oven. However, I use the stovetop daily for cooking. With continual use, it has a lot of nicks and scratches. It also has stains inside the glass oven panel that I cant clean. The glass would have to be removed in order to clean inside. This is why I give a rating of 4 stars. If I used the oven more frequently, I would notice if it had any problems with the temperature, proper cooking, etc. and could give a more accurate rating. I have small toaster oven and therefore, I cook practically all of my meals in the toaster oven.

Purchased a Maytag French door freezer underneath refrigerator 8 years ago. It stopped working because of the circuit board located behind the ice and water compartment on April 7th. Contacted a Maytag repairman, which is a whole other story. Had to order the part, weeks and weeks go by telling us the part is coming. Then a call came from the repair man on June 17th, Maytag no longer makes the part. Meantime we located the part by taking the fridge apart ourselves and ordered it arriving today June 19th. Contacted Maytag - Whirlpool corporate. Answer, We are sorry we no longer make the part, and basically told me after spending $2800.00 8 years ago Im up the creek without a paddle.

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator 3 years ago, now it started to leak water on the floor. Repairman said this happens after about 3 years to all Maytag refrigerators because the water hose is too small and gets plugged which causes water to flow into bottom of freezer; 2 inches of ice on bottom of freezer. Now we have to remove everything from freezer and refrigerator, unplug for 2 days to melt ice so we lose all of our food in freezer and refrigerator.

Just had the repairman here. This machine is computerized so it won’t last. It does not have a setting that lets me do any load of laundry the way I need to do it. I have to use heavy duty to do a load and then it takes 2 hours. When I want to do a load of sweaters on delicate it will not put near enough water in the machine to wash them. The normal cycle does not add enough water to wash, let alone rinse the clothes. I can’t choose the size of the load based on how much I need to wash so I have to do more loads at 2 hours each or do everything on bulky. Whoever came up with all this needs to be fired. I am extremely unhappy with this machine and I have loved Maytag for years. No more.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer in late 2007. We had a one-year warranty on the set. At just over 2 years, we started having problems with the washer. It started making a loud noise when spinning and started beeping all the time during the cycles. We contacted Maytag and they said the only thing they could do for us was to sell us an extended/repair warranty for $320.00. If the cost of fixing the machine was too much, they had the option to replace it with another machine equal to the value of the machine in todays market, or cash, or a gift card equal to that.We were angry about the cost of the warranty and we were unemployed at the time and couldnt afford that so we just had to let it go. The machine progressively got worse where only two of the cycles would work, but not without beeping several times where you had to fix the load, and the sound got so loud it sounded like you had a jet plane just overhead. Just the other day it completely quit working. We have been in contact with Maytag several times but their only answer is their repair warranty. Weve talked to numerous appliance repairman, who all knew exactly what was wrong because they have seen it so many times, and they told us that we have several things going wrong with the machine we would probably need a new drum, a new drain pump and a new control board.We were told that it would cost more to just buy the parts than it would be to buy a new machine. In the course of our phone calls to Maytag, they have continually told us that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do, in fact they only have record of two of our calls (how convenient!). Since experiencing the issues with the machine, we have researched it online and found that scores of consumers are dealing with the exact same problems we are having which shows that there are defects in the manufacturing of these machines. Maytag should be forced to fix these problems. They are well aware of them and they should have to back up their products.There should be a class action lawsuit out against them. We were told by an appliance repairman that Whirlpool (who bought out Maytag) has a washer called Cabrio that is the exact same model as the Bravo and that they do have a class action lawsuit out against this model. Consumers that purchased the Bravo should be included in that lawsuit. I am stuck with a broken down washer, mildewing clothes and dont know where to turn outside of paying out the money for the extended warranty with no guarantee of what we would get out of it, purchasing a used set with no guarantee, or putting out the expense for a new set.This set was an expense set and we went with Maytag because they used to have a good reputation, but we feel like we have been totally cheated. If the appliance companies were forced to offer a longer warranty on their products, they would have to manufacture them at a higher standard. For the cost of these new machines this is exactly what we as consumers should expect. Please help us to know which direction to go. Even with purchasing a new machine we are apprehensive!

This is beyond one of the most disappointing purchases I have ever made! It has been about 15 months since purchasing this dishwasher, and as of today it is not working! Blinking start button. I see from the hundreds of disappointed customer comments that I am not alone. With this many people complaining of the same issue, that Maytag should have a recall... I paid about $550. I get that quality does not supersede the almighty dollar, but come on!

We got Maytag 2000 series front load washer just over a year ago. The bearings in the drum are already worn out. I will never buy a Maytag again.

Bravo XL - I purchased this dryer in June 2012. In October, the first thermostat was replaced, again in February 2013 and two within a week from March 8th and March 12th. I was told it was my vent. However, the appliance continually showed venting good. I was told to have it cleaned. I did and it is documented that there was great air flow before and after and only a handful of lint collected. I have spoken with Whirlpool and no one will have the integrity or courage to say it may be a faulty unit. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. I had spent nearly $5,000.00 in Whirlpool appliances in June of 2012. I feel they will cover any issues until the warranty is completed, and then the problems are mine and at my expense.

We purchased this set 6 months ago. The store we purchased it from is unwilling to help us. Maytag insists there is nothing wrong with the washing machine. The machine doesnt clean the clothes. After a wash cycle there is pet fur and lint all over the clothes, even after it comes out of the dryer. The clothes are all twisted in tight knots when the load is done. The washing Machine doesnt dispense enough water to wash. I have taken clothes out of the washer and the items are dry in spots, most times you can smell the mustiness of a dish towel after its been washed.I used the steam clean dryer to fresh in up the curtains and the panels came out different lengths. Not eager to try that feature again. This is our 2nd dryer set purchase, the last set was 10 yrs old. I couldnt find anyone willing to repair it. I was told they dont make machines like they used to and they are all designed to last 10 yrs and you’re lucky if it lasts 15 yrs. Yes, we contacted Maytag and yes, like the many other folks who have shared their stories we also got the run around. Sad to say we are going to do our research and will be looking for a new machine. Im going to shamefully donate the set to a charitable organization and use the receipt as a tax write off. IF you’re doing your research, DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG.
