Maytag Gemini - This is a double oven which I purchased in 2010. 2 days ago Apr 13, 2015, the outside glass in the bottom oven simply exploded. The oven was in use at the time. It blew the side brackets off and glass was spread into my dining room as well as a mess in the kitchen. Maytag was supposed to send repairman today. Have waited all day and finally called repair company. They knew nothing of the repair and supposedly will contact Maytag and call me tomorrow. We will see. In the meantime has anyone else had this problem?

Purchased 4-2010, used maybe once a week, it stopped working 11-2013. They sent someone out to replace the faulty recall, which the recall says there is an electrical wiring failure that can cause a fire, so they replaced part. It did nothing, the dishwasher still would not wash, just fill up with water and drain, but would never go into wash, so we call and argue. First girl said that recall has been known to burn out the control panel so we have to pay for a service person to come out and diagnose it, if that is it, they will pay to repair it. Then when he does diagnose it, we call back, the next person says no, the recall has nothing to do with the control panel, that it is just a bracket that holds up the heating element... REALLY. Well then the Consumer Protection Agency has the wrong info because I just looked on there and the recall says, Electrical failure with the heating element that is not related to a bracket, I can read and I am not stupid, so we were out the $50 service call, so we finally got them to agree and pay for the part, but we would have to pay to put it on...HHHHHH NO, I am not spending another dime on service calls, I could spend the same amount and go and get a scratch and dent dishwasher for the same or just a little more. We are calling back tomorrow to argue more with them, then I am emailing the local TV station that handles these kind of issues. MAYTAG is a piece of nothing, I will never buy this or anything with their name on it again....

I purchased by Maytag Bravo from Lowes exactly 1 year ago when the gearbox failed. There was a loud grinding sound as the washer tried to shift from wash to spin. Reading through some on-line reviews and complaints it turns out that this is not a new problem and has been known to Maytag for some time. I specifically bought a Maytag because of their prior reputation for quality. Unfortunately, my information was out of date. It is so sad that a company would compromise such an outstanding reputation.

I am a WWII vet. I bought a Maytag dishwasher 4 years ago from Home Depot... Cost me $600 in total repairs. Maytag would not help. My son just brought it to the dump! At that same time I bought a Maytag bottom freezer from Home Depot... It has never worked right. Ice dispenser broken after 1 year, food freezing in fridge at any temperature... It just died! Maytag refuses to take any responsibility for THIS POS!They should be ashamed at the way they treated me. I am 94 years old, and have fought for our freedom, and was looking for one simple thing from this American company. Its called fairness! Maytag sucks! You have lost a lifetime customer. You have lost my son as a customer, and will lose anyone I talk to, as well as my son posting on ALL social media! SHAME ON YOU MAYTAG! SHAME ON YOU MAYTAG!

We purchased a Maytag Centennial washing machine from a local business here
We purchased a Maytag Centennial washing machine from a local business here in Knoxville in 2013. My previous Maytag lasted seven+ years and I was very happy with it. It began to leak water and after two times of having water on the floor, we decided it had worn out and purchased another washer. We immediately wanted another Maytag since our previous one has lasted for quite a while. We bought the new Maytag Centennial washing machine in the Spring of 2011. This is May of 2013 and we have had to purchase another washing machine since the electrical board in ours went out. The replacement part is listed at $300+ and that is without labor to install. Needless to say, I am very unhappy that I have had to purchase another washer so soon... and did not buy a Maytag this time.

I thought I was safe in buying Maytag for all of my appliances in my new kitchen. I bought a double wall oven Maytag MEW6630DDS. I bought it in late 2010 and have had no issues until August of 2018. I rarely use the bottom but used it in August of this year to cook cupcakes. After baking them and leaving the kitchen for a short while I heard a loud explosive, shattering sound. I walked to the kitchen to see that the bottom oven door had shattered into a million pieces. Thank the good Lord that I was not near it. I contacted Maytag to see if there was a reason it would have done this. They said that there had not been a recall. They sent a repairman at no cost to look at it. He came, took it apart and had no reason for why it would have done this. He left it in pieces and said that he was ordering the replacement door. Maytag advised us to turn off the breaker to the oven. After a month without ovens, the repairman called and said that the part had been discontinued. HA! You think?!? It has the potential to explode. It should have been recalled, not just discontinued. Maytag offered us 20% off a new set of $3000 wall ovens or $150 to pick ours up for disposal. Talk about saving the company money and screwing over the unlucky recipient of a defective product. They ought to be ashamed. I am going to have to replace the broken glass with aftermarket glass. What is going to happen when I use the self cleaning option? What happens when the top door explodes. I am scared to use my very expensive wall ovens that I thought would last at least 10 years. Shaneka at Whirlpool said that people have appliances fail all the time and just have to buy replacements. Do all of them have to replace ovens because doors explode for no reason? I am not the only one this has happened to. I have found several other complaints of this on the internet. Why did they discontinue these door? I wonder.

I have the Maytag Direct Drive Motor washing & dryer set the is supposed to be “commercial technology.” The washer is supposed to keep wet clothes fresh if they don’t make it to the dryer right away. After 2 years, I disagree in that it offers no better outcome than the much older machine I replaced. Furthermore the dryer cuts off leaving my clothes damp every single time, which I cannot stand. It leaves my clothes to wrinkle terribly and damp to stink if I do not collect them fast. I honestly wish I still had my old set. All the new features simply fail to measure up not to mention over complicate and add expense to repairs.

The unit is now out of warranty but service is coming to look at the problem again this week because we reported the problem within warranty. I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

Maytag MVWB835DW was less than 2 years old (purchased 1-14-16) when it began to fail. Maytag sent repairman out, he declared it beyond repair. Machine locks, washes and adds more and more minutes and cant turn it off without unplugging 5-10+ times... sometime takes a week to get clothes out of machine because of locking itself. I have extended warranty and yet when I try to contact Maytag, to have them honor this, there is eternal wait on phone, online, no help whatsoever. I read via Consumer Affairs that there are almost 3,000 reviews on this specific machine being a problem yet amazingly the Maytag man never responds! I have spent many many hours with no resolution. Amazon says so many reviews have been written about this, that they are unable to take my review because of excessive reviewing.

On 9/8/09, I purchased a Maytag ceramic glass top range, model MER7662WBO. The right front dual burner has what look like worms in the burner. The other burners are clear. Maytag has replaced the top three times and the burner once. The top has gone bad again and they are calling this a cosmetic now and will not replace the top. I think there is a problem with the tops. I have purchased my last Maytag product. I buy for looks also.

I think that I finally figured out a way around the piece of junk Maytag sold me. I bought a Maytag french door, stainless, yada, yada refrigerator in 2006. When it broke down, see later description, the first several times it was ok because of the warranty. This POS has failed 7 times requiring $300+ to fix every time. When contacted about the issue, the people at Maytag seem happy. The business model is working perfectly. There goes another sucker. The refrigerator begins its eventual breakdown with the door alarm light and sound beeping constantly. Beeping that continues for days and weeks. The next progression to failure continues with it not beeping anymore but now the interior lights do not light when the refrigerator is opened. Finally, the refrigerator stops cooling entirely and it is dead. Now, Maytag no longer wants anything to do with it so you need to call a repair man. When the repair man arrives, the entire time he talks about what a piece of junk Maytag is. They, every time, at first think it is the switches and replace them. This NEVER fixes the issue. Next, they have to replace the computer brain. $400 to fix. EVERY TIME. Now, at least every year. If you buy Maytag and have a similar experience, get your wallet out. Sell you junk then dont stand behind it.

Maytag stove MGR7662WW - I purchased this stove about 4 years ago. Now, the stove will not light. I called in to Maytag only to be told I must pay a service fee or purchase a repair manual. It’s very strange. My old Kenmore lasted 22 years and here I thought Maytag would at least last 10 years less than half the life of my old stove, realizing products today are not what they used to be. Maytag, the dependability people, I guess that old Maytag commercial where the Maytag repairman is so bored claiming no one needs service for a Maytag product is really false advertising. Buy American products; I’m not really sure who is the current country who is home to the great Maytag corporation. I guess me and my wife will spend another $700 on another brand stove and try this process all over again, hopefully not again in approx 4 years.

I was told by Maytag parts that this is a common problem and theyre hearing from a lot of consumers about this, but it will cost $196 to replace.I spoke with customer service who told me that dishwashers only last 8 to 10 years” and since mine is 8 years old, I should expect that it would rust. Thats unbelievable. They wont replace the rack, nor offer it at a discount.

Bravos XL washer- This is probably the worst purchase I have ever made, first off, at $1000 it was a pricey purchase however, I chalked it up to it will last many years without issue. After only 3 years, the unit leaked water and was so loud you couldnt stay indoors while it was on spin cycle. The bearings and seal were completely shot and needed replacement, after the sticker shock of having a good repairman fix the problem I decided to tackle the job myself. (Thank you YouTube). All was well for the next 2 years until it all happened again. Maytag is junk and will never get another dollar from me-ever! A Speed Queen TR5 now sits where that piece of crap used to reside. First trip free and parts would be free but I have to pay labor for second trip to repair. Dishwasher is just under 4 years old. Serial F31703877. Problem is corrosion on small flexible circuit at top of door. Same problem as others. Maytag states never been a recall!!! THIS CERTAINLY HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE A FIRE. Will never purchase another Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again. Poor quality and lies on the part of company and dealers as well.

We purchased our Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer (Model: MHWE450) in December 2010 from Best Buy. For the first six months or so, we were very happy. We started to notice that the washer was getting a little louder by the month. I checked the level multiple times to be sure that wasnt the issue. Assuming it was just part of how the washer broke in, I just let it go - a bad move! Fourteen months after I purchased the set, the washer flooded all over the floor. I opened the washer and pieces of plastic were all over our clothes. After further inspection, the drain was completely full of the same plastic. I cleaned it all up only to find that the washer tub was so loose that it was banging side to side.I called Maytag to ask for help or suggestions. They basically told me that I was out of warranty and kind of out of luck. I responded that we do a total of four to five loads of clothes per week and that there was no reason that this commercial series washer should have failed after 14 months. They offered a one-time service plus extended service contract. Feeling that I had no choice, I spent almost $400 assuming that I had a fixed washer and a year extra warranty. I was told that someone would be out to look at the washer in three days. Finally, after me pressing and pressing, someone showed up a week later. He put a list together of all of the items that were needed to repair the washer. Two days later, Maytag service calls and says that the washer will be too expensive to repair and they would be giving me a reimbursement for buying a new one. They didnt have an exact amount yet. Two more days later, they finally called me with an offer of around $550 ($250 less than what I paid) based on their research of what I should be able to find one for and directed me to the website. One big catch though - it didnt include the $125 shipping charge. When I called to request for it to be paid as well, they declined with basically a “take it or leave” type of attitude. Not knowing what to do, I called every local appliance store until I found someone that had two in stock. When I went to look at them, I was told that both of the ones that they had were rebuilt because that model Maytag washer had a major issue with the bearing and basically needed to be replaced on all of them.Luckily, I was able to buy the washer and a five-year extended service contract for around $690. So in the end, I paid $799 for the new washer, $400 for a warranty, another $100 to replace the washer, and close to $100 in laundry mat costs for three weeks. I promised everyone that I spoke to with Maytag that I would write a review to share my story and thats why I wrote this. The repair plus warranty is a joke. I like this washer/dryer but will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Next time, I will buy extended service contract from the start.

We purchased a washer and dryer, spent in the neighborhood of 1000.00 hard earned $$... extended warranty, the whole enchilada. Maytag. dependable, lonely repair man, ha.. that is just so much stuff. Well anyway it was a Centennial set. What junk. Never really worked that well to begin with. I trashed them both after exhausting all avenues to make it right. Well I got the hair to report the mess to consumer affairs and see if they are what they claim to be. This is more of a warning to all consumers. The stuff you consume today isnt worth the money you pay for it. The money isnt worth the time you spent to earn it. I am gonna try to find a old washer and rebuild it, and a dryer as well. Or just use solar. Best to keep the old stuff repaired and running. I dont know how many people I have spoken to about this problem. Our infrastructure is crumbling. A consumer based economy. Only there is not anyone to service the products we consume... pitiful. I guess my wife will be out back with a tub and washboard before it is all said and done... she will not like it, I guarantee that. I could not even begin to repair the washer. It was a computer operated board that did not work correctly from the beginning. The dude came out from the repair shop and fixed it while still under warranty. It died a slow painful death shortly after that. I disassembled it with a screwdriver and now have potatoes growing in the tub.The dryer has not met the same fate yet. It just sits there, anticipating the moment when I remove it and dissect it with a Sawzall. And I guarantee that day is coming. Do not buy anything from Maytag or its subsidiaries, think long term. We have become a bic lighter economy. I have been on the forefront of that movement. I did not realize it at the time. I do now. and for that I am sorry. I always expect something to work when I need it and if it doesnt, I try to repair it. Cannot fix this stuff now. The support we used to take for granted has been outsourced as well as the production of the product. Bob Dylan said it best in the song union sundown... Thank you and e pluribus unum.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, stove and refrigerator and the dishwasher was a problem from the beginning. Repaired out twice and replaced the control panel. Seasonal residence, so the start of year 2 (this week) the control panel goes a third time. Its going to cost $387 to repair (told my elderly mother) and it turns out it was a warranty program that she purchased, not a repair estimate. She was misled as she called Maytag and they transferred her to a warranty company, and once again Maytag says theres nothing they will do. Now, Im hassled with cancelling that as well. I called Maytag and they dont stand behind their lemon of a product and said there is nothing they can do because its out of warranty (even though theyve been out twice to fix it). Do not buy a Maytag product. This is the first complaint Ive every written and I am just shocked that Maytag doesnt stand behind their product. Im informing 100s of people to not purchase Maytag and they will pass along my negative experience as well, for that, I am sure.

I have a basic Maytag dishwasher circa 2012. Not sure of the model number. It works well, no fancy features but everything you really need is there. My only real complaint is that the heat dry cycle always seems to leave the dishes a little wet, but thats common enough for dishwashers. It cleans nicely and hasnt had any issues or breaks in 3+ years. Basic. Three wash cycles (light, normal, heavy); Extra rinse option, extra hot option, and heat dry or eco-dry (i.e. no dry). Nice big rinse aid dispenser. Its not that roomy inside. Id say the size is average. It looks nice - its white and unobtrusive. It works really well with Cascade dish pods. The bottom rack is kind of a pain if your plates are curved more than usual.

MDB4949SDM1 - After owning Maytag model MDB/C-2 for thirteen (13) plus years, I decided to purchase the subject Maytag Model when my 13 year old died. Big mistake. Previous model was very simplistic in rack design and it provided user-friendly options such as two detachable baskets for silverware and a special rack for delicate items. The new model has been designed so your dishes go in on angles on the top rack and as such bowls, small plates etc never stay in place once you move the rack and the lower rack configuration was redesigned and the rear area which was open to allow for bigger pots and pans to fit better has been removed, so now you have to lay your pans on top of the tines, very difficult to low the dishwasher.Additionally, I purchased the stainless steel model; apparently in the coating process a drip pattern was sealed that you can see when sunlight hits dishwasher. Further the stainless steel face that they bond to the door has popped, so when you grab the handle the face pops in and out. Lastly the new design has an adjustable upper rack; I tried numerous times to adjust the rack and couldnt so when I called Customer Service for these issues, it basically boils down to if the Service Man comes out and determines my issues are cosmetic and the rack which Ive never been able to adjust should happen to work then I have to pay the service call as there is not warranty coverage. So I declined the Service Call and advised that this would be my last Maytag purchase. I highly recommend anyone considering this unit fully investigate and test out before buying.

Called serviceman to tell him the washer leaked and he said it was my fault because the door wasnt wiped properly. (There was no visible dirt because I wiped the door each time as per his instructions.) Never got it resolved. After much arguing, I gave up. Then, after the warranty, it started tearing our clothes apart. Maytag says, Nothing we can do, warranty is over. We can find you a service person other than the one who sold it to you but you have to pay. So many ruined clothes. Now I read lots of reviews with the same and worse complaints from others. Unbeknownst to us, our Maytag Refrigerators (MFD2561KES) ice maker developed a problem with the fill hose which connects to the back of the refrigerator, causing it to pop off. The hose had been leaking water onto our wood floor causing all of the boards under the refrigerator and 6 feet in front to buckle. I cannot see why Maytag did not use a compression fitting instead of using a squeeze type hose clamp. Plus the ice maker has left a large sheet inside the freezer on the bottom. I use the ice maker daily to fill my cooler for work.We also have a Maytag Dishwasher which has a push button panel in front which has decided to give out as well. Not to mention our Maytag Double Oven which has never been able to close properly since we have had it. (The service man said that there is nothing wrong with it). We bought our house 7 years ago and my wife wanted nothing but Maytag because of our experience in the past. I gave up buying american automobiles years ago and I guess the same will happen when I replace these appliances (after I finish paying for my new floor).

This has been the worst washing machine I have ever owned!!! Purchased 3 years ago and this is the 3rd time the bearings dont work again. It make loud clanking noises. Then fails to spin at all. The first time it broke was the 1st year we owned it. It is sitting in our hallway and I can hardly wait for it to leave my house. Talked to the local appliance dealer and they never recommends these washers. I told dealer I must have gotten a lemon. He replied that it wasnt a lemon, that the machine tubs have gotten so much bigger and they have needed to upgrade the bearing system and are unwilling to do it. Dealer has highly recommended the Speed Queen. Based on the stellar reviews that is what will be coming to our house today. I can hardly wait. I know, its just a washing machine but frustration has overcome me. The Speed Queen has no plastic parts. We went with the knob style as opposed to the electronic push buttons. Less to go wrong. The warranty on the Speed Queen is top of the line, 5-year parts and labor. The salesperson didnt even try to sell me a warranty. No need to. Speed Queen stands by their product. I only recommend the Maytag Bravo XL if you dont have enough stress in your life.

When I called Maytag, I asked them if there were any issues with the control panels as I had heard there have been multiple issues with them needing to be replaced. I was told they had no record of any complaints and offered to sell me an extended warranty for $269, but there was nothing else they could do for me. I ultimately had my repairman order the part and it was replaced. My repairman did say Maytag did upgrade the panel because of all the issues they were having with the panel. Hopefully, they have fixed the problem and it will not have to be replaced again. But if it does, I will not replace it again. I will look into a new dishwasher and definitely not a Maytag. Yes, I would be interested in joining a class action suit.

I purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer about 3 years ago, they were under warranty for two years. Two years and 10 later the dryer breaks down, repair 310.00, two months later the washer breaks down again, 331.00, while I’m waiting for repair appointment the dryer breaks down, 130.00. Then I’m finally able to do laundry, turn on the washer for the first time since paying 331.00 and IT DOESNT WORK AGAIN, another SEVICE CALL!!! $$$ IM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN MAYTAG, ESPECIALLY AFTER VIEWING YOUR COMMERCIALS!!!

I made the mistake of buying a Maytag 2 years ago, this machine would not wash clothes even when using the deep water wash. I should have looked at it closer, it is so full of modern computer garbage that I was having to wash clothes twice so the water saving was negative. I own a business across from a major shopping center so what we did was we loaded it up in one of our trucks and parked it in front of our business with a giant sign and invited people to take a look before buying one. In 6 months we must have had at least a 1000 people inquire.

Im not sure whats going on but the plumber told us there is something very wrong with this machine. Its not the hot or cold water that smells, its the machine. I am now concerned about my mothers health. Please advise if you will allow us to purchase another machine with some kind of a credit due to the serious issue this machine has.

I purchased the Neptune HE pair because they are front loading and can be set on pedestals to raise them to a comfortable working height, plus the brand and reputation are both excellent. I like that the chimes can be adjusted from low to high, or turned off. The front loading washers clean so much better and with a lot less damage to items than washers with center agitators. Looks are secondary, thats for sure. Functions like warm/warm cycles and being able to adjust to whatever load needs to be washed is really most important to me. Any appliances with a good, proven track record of reliability with few repairs is high on my list. Expensive appliances should be made to last and be of durable quality! No cheap plastic or weak-looking welds or components, thank you! Quiet operation and dependable cleaning and drying are top in my book, and this pair has exceeded even my picky expectations in total overall performance. They are 11 years old now and look & function like new! I had one minor repair on the washer at 5 years, and not a single problem since. With front loading washers, its important to keep the door open a little when not in use so that they dont get a musky smell. Ive gotten into the habit of using laundry boosters to help clothes, sheets, and towels smelling fresh longer, and putting a small amount in the washer drum has kept my whole laundry room smelling nice. Purchasing the pedestal drawers to set the washer and dryer on added extra storage to my laundry and its much easier for me to load/unload them at this comfortable height. Im totally spoiled by it now, so when I use someone elses laundry room (when I visit) I am reminded how nice my own setup is.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator bottom freezer at Home Depot in 2012/10/15. A few months ago, a sheet of ice formed on the bottom of the freezer. Since the warranty expired, I decided to look at the problem. Now, I am a mechanical person who usually can fix just about anything mechanical. I used a hair dryer to defrost the freezer and saw that the drainage hole was frozen over. I took the entire freezer apart, cleaned the drainage channel, the drainage hole and reassembled the freezer. No more than 24 hours later, the drainage hole was covered with 1/4-1/3 thick ice, the drainage hose and the tray were dry, and the bottom of the freezer was coated with ice. This one problem that I could not solve. The design is so poor, the draining water freezes over the hole before it drains. I read some of the consumers complaints and I just want to add that do NOT waste your money on repairmen, or parts from Maytag, the refrigerator is NOT repairable. I will write off my loss of $900 and look for a new refrigerator, but Maytag will never see my money again.

We purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range last year in April and the extended warranty. The ovens have not worked correctly since we bought it. I never do this type of thing, however, I am just disgusted! I am going to exercise my right as a consumer to express my customer dissatisfaction and share using the social network. I dislike Maytag and even dislike A&E factory service more! I have never experienced such bad service on a new appliance. What is even more concerning and the reason I am posting this warning is there appears to be no recourse! I googled search both companies and the first things that came up were complaint pages. How sad! Buyer beware! If you buy a new appliance, research the warranty provider. It appears that Maytag has laid off the Maytag repairman and went to a lost cost unskilled service provider! A&E repairman has no idea how to fix the oven. He replaced the part. 4 weeks later, came out and walked in the house and did not even look at anything and ordered the same part again. He told us he would be back the following Friday. He did not schedule an appointment. I called on Thursday before he was due to show on Friday and A&E told me I had no appointment scheduled. They told me to inspect the parts that were shipped. I told them I would not even know what I was looking at! They told me the repairman would be back out between 1-5PM on Friday. No one showed. At 2PM, I called and A&E said the repairman must be on his way because he did not call and say he wasnt coming. But again, he did not show! I made no less than 6 calls to A&E and Maytag after that! A&E would not escalate the situation to a supervisor and on call number 6, when I finally got to an advocate, they told me to call Maytag! I have taken 4 days off as vacation to be home for the repairs and this last day was the final straw. When I researched escalating paths for both companies on Google, the first thing that came up was whole pages dedicated to complaints for both companies!

The control panel of our Maytag dishwasher stopped working when it was approximately 14 months old. We repaired it ourselves by following a reset directions we found online (push rinse button 5 times and then the cancel button twice). Also we cut the power to reset. Im not sure which of those two tasks reset it, but it worked until last week - now 28 months old. We are not able to reset the panel using any information that we can find. In trying to find repair options, we discover that there are a lot of complaints about the Maytag dishwashers control panels not working within just a couple of years. In speaking with Maytag, they tell me theres a class action law suit for this problem - meaning they do realize there is an obvious problem with their control panels, but are not acknowledging they have any responsibility to repair it. The law suit only covers the cost of the part but not the labor. The labor can cost between $100 - at the lowest - and up. Our Maytag dishwasher model # is MDB8949SAM1. Also noteworthy, our Maytag clothes washer gave out at less than 5 years. Maytag is no longer the company we all thought they were. Additionally, their faulty machines are costing their customers a lot of extra money. Not exactly what I would call a company with good customer service or even any ethics. We will never buy Maytag again.

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. We bought this Maytag Bravos 300 Quiet series top loading washer 3 years ago. Maytag was always the top brand to buy so I thought it was the style washer but now I believe Maytag has failed to keep their standard of quality high. My clothes come out of the washer almost dry and full of lint. Even though I use the HE wash soap, it does rinse out of the clothes. Dark clothes come out with a noticeable scum so I suppose the lighter clothes do, as well, I just cant see it. I always have to double rinse them which defeats the whole economy issue. Im not happy with this washer and would not recommend anyone to buy a Maytag brand washer. I absolutely HATE this Maytag Washer. DO NOT buy it. I would rate it less than one star however they did not offer a 1/2 star. If there is class action lawsuit please include me.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet 300 about 8 months ago and it will not clean anything. Not one setting will make this machine clean. You have to wash everything 2 to 3 times. There is no savings of any kind with this machine and I dont know anyone who has the time to wash everything multiple times. Its all about the water; its about as much as you can spit. I ran a hose from the faucet and added 8 gallons about 10 minutes into the wash cycle and was able to clean (float) a set of sheets. I find this energy star machine to be worthless and I would have been better buying an old machine at a garage sale than this Bravos machine. Junk. If you cant float your cloths folks, you might as well be rubbing them on a rock.

We purchased a $700 Maytag range 2 years ago and recently the oven did not work. After a Maytag authorized tech came out and checked the unit, he proclaimed the circuit board was bad and needed to be replaced. Since these ovens only have a 1-year warranty - regardless of the price you pay - he said it would be over $450 to repair it. When I asked why so expensive, he stated that they dont price the parts - Maytag does. I decided I could buy a new range for that price and get one with a warranty so I passed. I then decided to contact Maytag because I was very disappointed that such a reputable brand would prove so faulty. After writing a very polite letter and emailing customer service, they replied with a pack of lies. They stated that they have no control in what the service company charges for parts and failed to offer any assistance. They did not offer any solution except to say, Sorry. Well, you can bet that I have already spread the word to all my friends and associates about this experience and my Facebook page lit up with comments after I posted it. I will never buy another Maytag product and will make it my mission to spread the word. I had a similar issue with my brand new HP laptop but after contacting them, they immediately reached out to me and offered to pay for part of the repair!! Thats how you take care of your customers.

Just got off the phone with Whirlpool Customer Care after getting the run around between parts and customer service for most of the morning. My issue is with the shelving on my MSF25D2EAS01 Maytag side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic surrounding the glass shelving is disintegrating and they are not admitting to a defective design only that the original part has been obsoleted and a new one is available for purchase (an over $300 expense to replace three shelves) on a unit that is just over 2 years old. I am willing to bet the old part has been replaced with a different design after they realized a substantial number of customer complaints. As an engineer, it is obvious to me that these shelves are poorly designed for their intended purpose, furthermore my work allows me to recommend appliance brands for large projects so I see no reason to recommend Whirlpool or any of its subsidiary brands (Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air) to any of our clients. Whirlpool quality and customer service is substandard and no better than any imported brand of appliances.

To anyone out there who is considering purchasing a Maytag washer. My husband & I purchased a Maytag Bravo top loader washer from Sears Hardware here in Columbus, OH. We had always received great review regarding Maytag products. This washer is expensive & does not work. We started having problems from the day we purchased & had Sears come out three times for repairs. This washer has a built in scale which is extremely sensitive. We are very disappointed in this washer. It takes an entire day to do 3 loads of laundry. The washer goes off balance on every load. It doesnt do a god job cleaning the laundry. I do not suggest the Bravos series to anyone consider purchasing this product. It is a piece of JUNK! We purchased in Aug 2010 and the washer will need to be replaced within the next several months. Keep in mind that more expensive & lots of fancy extras doesnt mean a better quality washer or dryer. Stay away from Maytag or you will have the Old Maytag repair guy @ your door frequently.

This was my first Maytag, will definitely be my last. I purchased the combo washer and dryer from Home Depot in 2014. So far it has broken down 4 times needing major parts replaced. The first 2 times it broke within 3 months of owning the machine, so I called Maytag and made very irate complaints and was able to get the 1-year factory warranty extended by another 6 months. This month (May) marks the end of their extended warranty and lo and behold, the machine broke again! I called Maytag again, asking to speak with supervisors instead of customer service reps. They refused to put me on the phone with anyone higher up. I got as far as a customer service manager and she wouldnt budge. Her response was: If the machine breaks again, call us back and we will be happy to review your case at that time. I assured her that the machine would definitely break again, because it is a lemon and has broken 4 times already and wanted satisfaction NOW!! She refused to continue speaking with me and told me to call back if and when the machine breaks again. I am deeply disappointed in Maytag as a company. They had a wonderful reputation way back when, but their customer service department is sorely lacking along with selling a sub-standard product that they will not stand by. I plan on taking this matter further. I am a business owner as well as a single mom, and have no time for broken down machines and nonsense.

Ive have learned a few valuable lessons. Dont assume that more money means better merchandise. Made in America doesnt say much. And please dont buy Maytag.

I also bought a Maytag refrigerator in 2013. Right after the warranty expired it was forming ice on the bottom and back of the freezer and was not making ice. I called Maytag and they told me they have no complaints on this type of refrigerator. It was also always making a lot of noise. Maytag was supposed to be the quiet one. I will never buy another Maytag product and I will do anything to make sure nobody else does either.

We purchased this washer 8 months ago, and still do not have a working unit. From the very beginning of installing the new washer we had repeated F4 and E1 error codes. A technician was sent out three separate times and they replaced the ACU each time only to have the same error codes recur. This unfortunately took 5 months as each time the ACU part was on backorder. After 3 failed attempts they agreed to replace the washer with a new one. We were dumbfounded when the new unit arrived and we had the same F4 and E1 error codes! They have again replaced the ACU and still we have the same error codes! They are sending yet another ACU but we have little confidence this will work and we are at a painful 8 months with no washer.

I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader in Oct 2011. About a yr after having it, it started having problems. At the end of the cycle, theres still water in the tub and clothes are soaked. A couple of months after that, it started completely skipping the wash cycle, so the clothes would just sit in dirty water and do nothing. I called the small appliance co. I bought it from and by the time I get done paying a house call and parts, I might as well buy another one. I called Maytag because it seems theyre all having the same problem and at some point youd think they would be responsible for their product. They couldnt care less and the options they offered me were a joke!! Please, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG because you will be on your own if anything goes wrong (unless you want to pay them the price of a new washer!!).

Shame on Maytag! Customer Service is appalling! Paid 2500 for one of their top of the line refrigerator/freezer and had the repair people 5 times in one year. It was determined that it is a bad model number that Maytag wont recall but knows it is faulty. Started with ice build up in freezer making it sound like a plane taking off. It kept running trying to defrost (energy efficient-right). The repairman put in a request to have the product replaced based on symptoms and freezer being at 26 degrees. We had to wait five business days for Maytag to review it. I have a family and was having guests. They told me to buy a dorm refrigerator and they would send me a small credit towards it in 4 to 6 weeks. They finally agreed to replace the known faulty model, but I have to wait for the exchange team to contact me (2 weeks later). I keep calling and leaving messages but cant get the exchange team to even return my calls. I have my sons graduation this weekend and I dont have a freezer and my refrigerator is faulty with all my vegetables rotting within two days. It also took two days to originally get someone in management to call me back (even though it did no good - she cant help me). You cannot talk to management if you call customer service. They downright refuse! What a company!

After the 4th service call Maytag wanted a 2nd company to look at it. So on July 27th A&E out of Bristol, PA came out. He checked it out and said its not serviceable because theres a leak somewhere in the casing. Had to call KYW 3, On Your Side, they helped me get some progress. Jacqueline from corporate called and said they would replace it. It started on July 3 and now August 13 and still no fridge. Had my Maytag washer fixed, small problem. Parts came in a box marked Whirlpool for a Maytag washer from a Sears Warehouse. Plus the mechanic said my Maytag refrigerator is made by Amana. Buy American?

Almost one year to the date of purchase, my Maytag glass top range stopped working. The oven is still operational, but the range top does not work. The knobs turn and the surface lights go on but the elements no longer heat up. Trying to get a response from a real person at Maytag was impossible. I was put through a myriad of prompts that led me to scheduling a service appointment. I called AppliancesMart and got a wonderful sales person who said a service call would cost me 60 to 80 dollars and that he had not heard of repairs below $300 for this type of problem. Needless to say I am very angry and disappointed that I had not done more research before I purchased this item. If I can prevent one more person from making this same mistake, I will get some modicum of satisfaction out of this horrible experience.

Total cost to repair is $450. Called Maytag to see if they could reduce the repair cost, answer... NO. Maytag spends millions of dollars in advertising... Our Maytag washer 4000 series was installed on September 2010. Within 12 months and 5 days, we are now waiting for our second spin bearing to be replaced. It is a repair that takes 2 guys and 2 hours, and they basically have to replace the guts of the machine. I can imagine this is, at minimum, a $500 repair. We didnt buy the extended warranty, but luckily, the appliance shop was able to talk Maytag into eating the cost since we were only 5 days out. With the purchase of our new house, we upgraded from our appliance allowance to this model. With everything going on with the new house and selling our old one, I didnt do my normal internet searches for customer reviews and that was a mistake!Maytag has since sent us a warranty extension offer for $350, covering 3 more years. I guess Ill be buying that. It sucks that you pay top dollar for a washer only to find out that you have to pay an extra 40% just to keep it running for 4 years. No more Maytags for me, ever. Note to Maytag, you sell junk and your business goes into the ground. You are selling junk! Stop trying to squeeze every penny out of design and build, or you wont have a job.

We purchased a refrigerator in December 2010 with a 12-month warranty. Since the refrigerator was delivered, we have experienced nothing but problems. Most recently, there was a problem with the auto defrost causing us to lose all our food stored. It also caused water damage to our floor. We scheduled maintenance with a contracted company through MayTag. After three scheduled visits, which made me miss 3 and a half days of work resulting in an additional loss of over $300, our refrigerator is still broken and they just want us to schedule another maintenance visit. When calling Maytag customer service we are literally told, “your loss, there is nothing we can do to resolve your issue, we can only continue to send out maintenance.” I am so disappointed in this company, the product, the customer service, maintenance service etc.

Washer would stop right after it started. I googled the problem and found out it was a bad lock. These Bravo XL units were purchased in 2015. Called an appliance repair and they charged me $250 to replace the lock (service call was $98.00 and labor was $90). The repairman left and I started the washer. There was a loud sound coming from it. I called the repairman back and he said it was the gear case and basket. He said the basket was covered under the warranty but the gear case wasnt. Would be about $750 to fix....no way was I paying the cost of a new washer to fix this less than 4 yr old one. I called Maytag. They couldnt help me. I should have purchased an extended warranty they said. The cost to purchase the extended warranty is now $394.00 per year....please do not purchase a Maytag/Whirlpool appliance unless you like buying extended warranties.

Yesterday, the main compartment of the refrigerator is not cooling. The freezer still is working. This unit is 2.5 years old! I have never bought an extended warranty before, but on day one, this unit hardly ever shut off. It didnt seem like the electric bill was any higher but never felt good about the unit. Plus, I hated the ice cubes all over the floor when I pulled out the lower drawer. The monitoring device is in the roof of the fridge and takes up a lot of square footage. Nope, will never buy another Maytag. If their products cant last more the at least eight years, then it is such a waste of our money. Do better! Maytag Bravos washer MVWB750WQO frame assembly and cabinet rust - I sent letter of internal and external rust issues to Jeff Fettig (Whirlpool CEO) and received no response. Then, I sent letter a second time with an attached signed receipt. Then, I finally received a call from corporate staff member stating they would replace parts but not labor. Labor costs would cost between $350 - $500.00. This is without the initial service call and diagnosis cost between $100 - $125.00. The determined parts list cost would be $700 - 50% for Whirlpool internal cost + shipping be approximately $425.00. This is more than the cost of a new unit or the value of three-year depreciation value of the existing unit. This does not make any financial sense. Whirlpool should provide a new replacement unit at their costs. It has been three months and with no successful outcome. Also, via web research, there are many complaints about Maytag/Whirlpool and I am not the first in regards to rust issue. Therefore, Whirlpool is attempting to limit their financial exposure by only offering parts that they have to agree upon because the labor costs will not support this additional investment in a three-year unit. It makes more financial sense to purchase new or be offered a replacement unit.

Purchased a Maytag OTR microwave in May of 2017. Started having issues with the Open/Close Door malfunction by September. Repair came out and essentially told us to keep opening and closing until it worked. It is January 2018 and the issue has gotten worse. My question is, since Maytag is keenly aware of the problem and has for years, based on other reviewers on here, why hasnt a class action lawsuit been filed? These appliances are expensive and it sounds like many of us have been taken to the cleaners!

We purchased a high capacity washer (MVWB835DW), along with the matching dryer, two years ago from Lowes. This review is not about Lowes. They did the best they could to make things right. The review is about the Maytag washer (made and serviced by WhirIpool). It has been nothing short of a debacle. The first two washers did not work and had to be replaced. The third and current washer has been repaired three times, including the drum and motor. We have been without the use of the washer for over a week each time while waiting for parts and Whirlpool to approve the repair. The washer is not high capacity as advertised. Filling the drum even half way results in the washer stopping mid cycle whereupon we have to adjust the contents back into balance. In addition, the machine leaves a lint residue on dark clothing that has to be wiped off by hand. We have asked Maytag/Whirlpool to replace the machine but they say it has to fail for the same issue four times in order to qualify for replacement. We are done and will purchase another washer from a different manufacturer. It’s easy to understand why Samsung and LG have become such a dominate force in the laundry sector. Whirlpool/Maytag does not care about you or the problems with their product. Buyer beware!

I live alone and bought this unit for long life. After a few short not-used-much years, my washer sounded like a 747 was landing in my laundry room. I am a maintenance person, so I did a bit of troubleshooting and narrowed it down to the bearings installed in plastic on the outer tub that failed. My cost was $600.00 to $750.00, parts alone. It still worked, just very noisy on high spin.I emailed Maytag (now Whirlpool) and was phoned by Lee Ann. I told her I had all Maytag appliances in my home and was laid off and that if after the use this washer has had and it will cost this much if I do the work, I was not impressed with this company. She apologized and told me she will issue me an extended warranty for $299.00 that will cover it. I told her that without a job, I cannot make a decision so fast. She gave me the next business day to decide. I concluded it was cheaper than the part, so I called her back. I was scheduled for a repair, and the man opened the front and looked at it and said it was an outer tub bearing. He went to his laptop in his truck and returned to tell me that they would not authorize that expense and that all they would authorize was $350.00. He put the front of the washer on, then as if he forgot something, took it back off and reached way in the back and did something. Then, he reinstalled the front. I was livid! They charged me $299.00 for a warranty and would not repair! So I called back and was hung up on. Next, I called my credit card and disputed the charge. I tried to use the washer, and it made funny sounds and then filled up my home with smoke and stopped working. I called Maytag again, and he denied the repairman would tell me how much they would authorize to repair it and told me good news that they would issue a $174.00 check. I gave $299.00, and a few days later, they give me $174.00? This is why Whirlpool is destined to fail. I will never buy again, and I will wash in my laundry tub first! This is exactly why imports will rule! So Whirlpool, you got me for the last time!

My old washing machine was about 25 years old but still doing a fantastic job getting the laundry done. When the dryer died we decided to replace both machines so theyd match. I had been setting money aside for years in preparation for this purchase. Ive only had them for two weeks and I stay awake at night wondering what GENIUS decided you can get clothes cleaner in a tablespoon of water than you can in an adequate amount of water?! My old washer could wash a load of laundry in about 20 minutes. Again, what GENIUS decided taking over an hour to wash a load of laundry in a tablespoon of water was a better way?! What working woman would choose to double the time needed to do laundry and then not feel confident that the clothes are clean?!!! I am so mad and frustrated and disappointed and I dont know what to do. I wish I could yell at somebody!!!

But of course beings the issue resolved there was no way to send someone out here to troubleshoot the problem. Now it is doing it all the time. A few months ago it went out of warranty.
