I purchased a Maytag Bravo washer and dryer in 2008. I had a repair person out today on both units. I was told that it will cost as much to fix the washer as it would be to purchase a new one. As far as the dryer was concerned, I was told to live with the timer issue rather than replace the expensive mother board. I was also told that the drum bearing issue with the washer is fairly common with the Maytag machines. It looks like the Maytag repairman isnt so lonely anymore! I paid a lot of money for these machines and they amount to a hill of garbage after three years. I may be buying a new washer, but you can bet your boots it wont be Maytag/Whirlpool!

I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot.This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

Never waste your money and buy Maytag washer. Mine is XL large tub and has extra wash for extra clean. Dont waste your money. Never fills up with enough water. Almost everytime I wash I have to rewash the load because the clothes are still dirty, have soap spots and most of the time the clothes didnt even get wet. Horrible Horrible washer!!! My water bill has gone up a lot because I have to rewash the load so thats twice... I cant even use the XL tub because it wont fill up with water. Horrible product. Cant believe Maytag is still in business. They dont stand behind product. Called. Complained. They gave me nothing except for some free pods to clean a washer thats only 6 months old. Ive tried every cycle to see which one will wash the best. Still Horrible Horrible. Doesnt get anything cleaned. Here I thought nothing could get worse than a front loader? I bought a Maytag Bravo Series 300 washer and dryer for $2,000. The dryer is fine, so far, but the washer is dead. I have not received any answers from Maytag and the product is already outside of its warranty. I only had it for two years.

Like so many other consumers, I was drawn to the Maytag name because of what I thought was the high quality of their products and their stellar reputation. So when our old wall-mount oven failed, I sought out a replacement from the Maytag line. I purchased a model MEW5530WDDB17 in 2011 and had it professionally installed. It worked well for a couple of years. Then, suddenly, three of the numbers on the digital control panel stopped working, making it impossible to set the oven to any temperature that included a 4, a 2 or a 5. When I contacted Maytag, I was informed that the unit was out of warranty, but that I could schedule a service call. I had already researched this issue online and knew that the service person would inform me that I needed a new control board and that one could be installed for around $300, and that the new board would come with a 90 day warranty. When I asked the person to whom I was speaking, she said that she had no further information for me. I know that a lot of others have had this same issue with their Maytag range/ovens, and many of them agree with me that we will never purchase another Maytag product.

My Husband bought a Maytag Bravos Washer 2 years ago this next month. The washer is extremely hard on clothes. We have to wash all clothes on hand wash to keep them from tearing up our clothes, and we are having to replace the door lock for the third time. Of course the last 2 times were not under warranty. So once again, I cant do laundry when I need to. Thanks.

The worst washer I have ever purchased. Clothes DO NOT come out clean, smell musty after washing. Have even decreased the amount of clothing per wash. Cant use bulk load function: throws LF Code - Bad water valve. I will NEVER buy or suggest anyone buy this piece of JUNK! Then to top it off you have to constantly chase the machine around due to wash load becoming unbalanced. Now today have to contend with a burnt smell...

In late March or early April 2010, I purchased a Maytag Microwave from Sears in Ocean, New Jersey. The microwave was installed by Sears technicians on April 9, 2010. The total price for the microwave and installation was $356.53. I specifically purchased the Maytag brand because of Maytags longstanding reputation for quality products with long lifespans.On October 5, 2014, the microwave became inoperative and displayed a code of SE. On or about October 9, 2014, I contacted Maytag Customer Experience Center, via email, and advised them of this problem. I also wrote to Maytag explaining the situation. On October 15, 2014, I was advised via email that, as my warranty had expired, any repairs were my responsibility. I requested that my email be forwarded to Maytags CEO for consideration and review and was advised on October 20, 2014 that a Maytag supervisor would call me within two to three business days (of October 20th). After a follow up letter to the CEO, I was again advised on October 28, 2014, that the microwave was out of warranty and any repairs were my responsibility.I should add that I contacted Maytag Repair Service and was advised that the price of the repair far exceeded the price of the microwave. I feel that four years is not the expected lifespan of a microwave, especially a Maytag, and can only conclude that the Maytag microwave which I purchased was defective. I have purchased less expensive microwaves that have lasted for at least ten years. I got absolutely nowhere with Maytag personnel, found them to be curt and dismissive and would NOT purchase another Maytag product nor would I recommend them. Buyer beware - Maytag is not what it used to be! Very disappointing.

Nice refrigerator, but cheaply made. I paid 1800 with tax for my french door Maytag and expected higher durability. It operates well but one worries about breaking drawers made of such thin plastic.

The dishwasher turns on of its own accord. Sometimes when you get too close to it, once in a while in the middle of the night, and most of the time when you latch the door. It does a great job cleaning the dishes, but to no avail because its always in the middle of a cycle when you need them.

I bought a new Maytag stove and it is less than two years old and the oven has already quit working. It only has a one year warranty and will cost about $200 to fix. I am very dissatisfied with what I thought was a good product.

My Maytag refrigerator has driven us up the hill and back and has taken us several months in order for us to get the issue solved. This is quite an expensive fridge freezer and the after service has been diabolical to say the least. All their service calls in the UK were handled by a third party and it seems that there is some sort of change of ownership between Whirlpool and Hotpoint so after all the previous visits by different companies the problem of water leaking unto our floor is still going on and now all their call are being routed through a major insurance and a utility company who are more interested in trying to signing you up on one of their insurance policies than fixing it.To make matters worse the contractors they use are absolutely useless when it comes to fixing american style refrigerators. I was told I needed various parts which would have cost hundreds of pounds or that the appliance was uneconomical to repair. All of which was untrue. This I later found out when after emails after emails Whirlpool passed on the contact details of a service agent ags refrigeration who came out and found that there was a fault with the water in line connector at the bottom of the refrigerator which they replaced.

Model MDB7749SBM1, Complete FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and GARBAGE. Let me explain. Maytag clearly claims this dishwasher is stainless steel on the inside and out... FALSE, BOGUS CLAIM. Please check for yourself, tried a magnet to it everywhere and the magnet stuck everywhere. I have had this dishwasher for 15 months. The keypad frequently stuck. When I called Maytag, they told me if its usable, there is no defect. 15 months after purchase and 3 months after WARRANTY ran OUT on Thanksgiving Day with 25 guest. The keypad finally quit for good. I called the Friday afterward and was told no service for a week. I called and received local service but they told me it would need a keypad, which I waited to call on Monday since Maytag is closed on weekends how ironic. I was told they wont cover anything since a certified person didnt come out even though nothing was ever fixed and they blatantly lied to the consumer. Tried to sell me an extended service plan. I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE AND WHEN IM IN LOWES OR HOME DEPOT, I WILL TELL EVERYONE IN THERE SHOPPING THE SAME THING, DONT BUY MAYTAG IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU.

When I attempted to contact Maytag about an issue in my 3 month old washer all I received is an automated email back saying to contact one of the repair places on their website. There was one, so I notified Maytag I would contact them. I contacted them. They said Maytag had not notified them that this was a warranty repair and if I wanted them to come out I would have to pay for it. I have attempted to contact Maytag several times to get this straight. Guess they are trying to wait out the warranty to respond. Will NOT EVER buy another Maytag. Too bad they used to be a good product.

Maytag dishwasher #MDB 9750AWQ - I am now on the fourth control panel and in less than one year, the present one is starting to fail. The third one failed in less than a year also! I have read the reports of others and apparently, this is not just my dishwasher. Maytag owes its customers a recall of this inferior machine.

Purchased side-by-side with bottom freezer 2009 after Hurricane Ike. Fridge has stopped cooling. Called Maytag Customer Center and was told nothing can be done only to find theres a 10 year warranty on the compressor. This malfunction should not be an issue after 8 years. My GE fridge still works after 25+ years. Horrible!

Its a shame that I bought into the Maytag equals quality and customer service falsehood. Same problem as the others on this site and undoubtedly thousands of other consumers that bought a similar refrigerator freezer combo only to discover puddles in front of the unit and a 1 thick slab of ice under the freezer drawer. I contacted Maytag parts and when I described the issue he transferred me to warranty. The warranty department acknowledged this was a known problem and they would supply the part, no charge for the part but I would have to pay the serviceman to install it. They would not however, send the part to me to install. The unit is out of warranty, of course it develop the problem until right after the warranty expired. I plan to examine the drip pan and figure out how to improve on the design myself. I will not replace any appliances with Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore, or any other major appliances from this group of companies... Beware!

Do not purchase this microwave! I checked the reviews and thought they couldnt all have the same problem. THEY DO! This Maytag Microwave MMV4205DS1 has some faulty switch in the door latch mechanism. The warranty repair company came and adjusted the switches... and then fully replaced the switches. Each time it worked for about 30-60 days and then the same error would repeat itself. Never resolved... buying a different microwave. Be sure to check all reviews for repetitive complaints.This microwave will NOT function AT ALL with the door open/close message. Here are the details of our microwave. Purchased from Home Depot December 2015. First experienced the open/close door message around June 2016 (6 months after purchase). With the open/close door message, the interior light will not come on, the keypad will accept entries but will give the open/close door message as soon as start is pressed. Repaired under warranty August 2016. Repairman tightened and replaced one of the two fuses behind the metal plate. Also moved the door connectors as far as they would go to help with the door sensor issue. Worked until mid-December. Same message reappeared. Called repair company. Still under warranty. He order new switch parts and installed in January 2017. Microwave worked for 2 months. Then same exact door/open close message. Called repair company. Since we do not have an extended warranty, the parts would be covered but not the labor. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MICROWAVE or any other microwave that has reviews listing a door open/close issue. It will not go away! ...and you will be very frustrated.

We trusted the Maytag name to give us a good product that would last. After six weeks the Maytag Bravo stopped working. Having to wait 7 days before a service repair person came to our home. The main motherboard needs replaced. So currently, we are still waiting for the part to arrive and have it installed. 2 weeks without a washer after spending 600.00 for a new washer. There is more problems also, this machine takes 1 hour to complete a single load of laundry. Plus it does not get the clothes clean and the rinse cycle does not get all the soap out of the clothes. Very unhappy with the Maytag Commercial Bravo. Will not buy another Maytag product. Save your money and get another brand. We plan to get this one fix and sell it.

I wish I had found this website before I bought my new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot on March 7, 2018. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag washer that I should have kept. I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

We purchased Maytag microwave (MMV4205DH1) less than two years ago. Within the first year, the microwave would not work and we would see an Open and Close Door message. We had it repaired and now 10 months later it is doing the same thing. The cost of repairs is high--the same as a new microwave. We have been inconvenienced throughout the holidays by our broken appliance. Disappointed.

My Maytag fridge was purchased on 2006 and since then have had multiple service repairs. Too much freezing, not cooling at all, fan replaced. Now freezer door not sealing.I tried a few days ago to get extension on warranty but was told it had expired so I could not renew. Why wasnt I told I needed to renew back in April before it expired? I believe they are not renewing because of the history of the appliance as it has too many repairs, it will not be cost effective for the company. We have also, in the last 10 years, purchased a washer and dryer and a large screen TV and all have the same problems. What are the chances of getting all lemon appliances? Obviously we are not shopping there any longer but many people are going to have to deal with same issues we did. All the while the company keeps making money!

I bought my washer just over 3 years ago and it started making loud clicking noises and it seems like the agitator function is not working at all. I have a repairman coming over in a few days. I knew I should have gotten the extended warranty!

I purchased this washer because of Maytags reputation of the repairman who was supposed to be needed less. Ha! Was that a joke? I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in March 2005. About every 8 to 12 months since Ive owned it, the control panel malfunctions and needs to be replaced. I was told by the repairmen (similar to the many other postings below) that the malfunction is due to a faulty design where warm moisture shorts out the electronic control panel. For a few years, I paid for a service contract. But this seemed quite unfair, given the regularity of the same malfunction. Given that this is such a common problem, isnt there some responsibility by Maytag? This is clearly a faulty design. What about the legal responsibility for a recall? Is it possible that, together with other aggrieved owners, a lawsuit against Maytag would be the appropriate action?

We bought a new Maytag Bravo series thinking we were buying the best product... not! The washer has been running great. But when it came time to clean the washer on the Affresh cycle, the washer overflowed. It turns out the washer fills up higher on the Affresh cycle than it does on the regular wash cycles. Well, that’s why it overflowed; the plastic tub that hold the water had a freaking crack in it near the top! This washer isnt even 3 months old. I had to get a repairman in here once to check it out, then again to come back and fix it. At least it was under warranty. Im afraid what else will happen. Piece of crap Maytag, great quality checks! Maybe hire some real people that can see what the hell they are doing in quality. I told them about the damages to my basement. They sent me paperwork to fill out. Forget it, the paperwork gives you the runaround!

In 2006, my wife and I purchased a new Maytag refrigerator, the model type with the freezer in a drawer near the floor and the drawer is under the main door of the fridge. The thing has a sealed system and has a freon leak which makes it nearly impossible and not financially prudent to try to fix. Two repairmen were out and I spent $200 for them to tell me the same bad news. Its unbelievable that this junk wouldnt even last ten years. What is this, Russia? Ive heard some of their awful appliance experience stories and now this can join them. The reliable Maytag repairman who never has anything to - you know the one. He is probably dead. Hes not really the one to blame here though, it is the reliability of Maytag that is dead and will remain so for as long as this company is alive. Dont ever trust or buy Maytag if you care about making your investment in new appliances last! Dont do it, people!

No matter what we we do we still have soap residue left on clothes, even when we do the 2nd rinse cycle (what a waste of water). We use the correct amount of HE detergent and we use the detergent dispenser but it doesnt helps. The machine just doesnt use enough water. We have removed items that still have DRY SPOTS on them when the cycle is done. Areas that have never gotten wet after a 45 minute cycle. Never once had this happen with an agitator machine. Purchased 4 Maytag kitchen appliances - stove, double oven, fridge, dishwasher - was told that they were all made in the USA. WRONG. The microwave comes from China - not sure why Maytag is not being honest. Not happy with my purchases - even though we spent $4000 to buy American. We used to own a Neptune Model. After always leaving the door opened and following the recommended monthly cleaning and many extra cleanings with diluted bleach and water, we could not get the smell out. We paid for a new seal, Advice from Washing Machine Repair service even though we paid a lot for an extended warranty. We had to pay for this ourselves. We also had our year to year maintenance. Because we could not fix the issue, nor would MAYTAG, we donated the set to donated it to Salvation Army.We decided to give MAYTAG another chance, so we purchased a brand new FRONT-LOAD WASHER and DRYER in 2014. As I would repeat the same regiment, I would notice little black specks, so I would clean it an extra time with Afresh. I have continued to this date, repeating the same regiment of keeping my washer clean and serviced as we should, I now have the whole tray dispenser spotted with LARGE black goo that smells. So I have continued to clean my Washer.After returning home from the Cleveland Clinic, I was ready to do our laundry from the trip, more black goo and smell coming from my Maytag front-load washer. My sister had stayed with my 86 year old mother and had wash a load of towels while we were gone. She left the door opened also as she was instructed many times, and that is how we found it. So I took the dispenser tray out as usual and bleached it and scrubbed it. As I did this I noticed bigger areas of goo. I looked in the dispenser housing and OMG it was covered with black mold. I am appalled that our $900.00 Washing Machine is like this. This IS BLACK MOLD, There is no way to remove this mold. I have the sides and bottom cleaned with bleach, BUT I cannot get into the multiple crevices.I called Maytag and I was initially told by a Maytag Customer Service Person said that it sounds like BLACK MOLD and MAYTAG COULD DO NOTHING! I asked to speak with a supervisor. At first she seemed a little put off, but as we talked she became more pleasant, I offered to send pictures or a video of the WASHER WITH THE BLACK MOLD and she said no. She told me to pour bleach into each dispensing compartment and the drum. Then run a wash with no clothes on all HOT WATER 2 times, then rinse 2 times and this should get rid of it and to also leave the dispenser drawer open a crack as well as the door after each wash.The Supervisor said ok and thanked her for her help. Then she said good luck and thanks for calling MAYTAG. Ive did and already do everything our Washer manual says to do on cleaning and maintenance of my expensive Maytag Washer and dryer. The manual says nothing about leaving the dispenser drawer open a little so it dries. The bottom of the housing looks great from doing this, along with me scrubbing it until 5:00 am with diluted bleach water. However, in the MANY SEAMS, CREVICES, THE SCHUTE AND POSSIBLY THROUGHOUT THE WASHING MACHINE IS BLACK MOLD that we cannot access without disassembling the machine and voiding our extended warranty.MOLD GROWS RAPIDLY and causes many illness. I already have an ongoing illness since childhood, I take care of my 86 year old mother, my husband just finished cancer treatment in January. We certainly do not need any other health issues. I called my local Appliance repair company and they said that they normally do not handle anything like this, but if my husband couldnt take the outside of the machine off then the top I could pay for a repair person to come out to take it apart then call and have them come back to put it back, pay them again to reassemble our Washer.I believe Whirlpool in its purchase of Maytag has taken a Monkey on its back. Maytag will do nothing, why should they? They already have their money from when we purchased our machines along with money from many other consumers who also have ongoing issues with their WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG Front-Load washing machines. It is undignified and deceitful how they treat their consumers with such disregard when we have filled their pockets by being loyal customers.Word of mouth is good or bad advertisement for any company. Everyone who has unresolved issues of any kind can write a formal complaint to the CEO and President of Whirlpool/Maytag. The address is on the internet. I bought my Maytag Model LA608 washer in 1976. It has very few electronics and a mechanical timer. It has been used every week since then for 2 or 3 people. It has had 3 problems in its lifetime. I replaced the 2 valves that control the hot and cold water entering the machine. I replaced a small plastic sprayer part. And last year I replaced 3 clamps that rusted and started to leak. Thats it in 40 years. I was able to open up the front and back covers to get at the parts quite easily.It is a simple machine with almost no electronics to stop working. Nothing bothers me about the machine. Its simple and wonderful. When it finally breaks, I will try and find a good sized machine that washes permanent press and regular clothes, has a controller to select hot/cold/warm water temperatures, has a regular and gentle cycle, and has 3 load levels for the water to be used. I will try to find one that is good quality with few electronic parts. I will not buy a high efficiency model that uses less water as I am on a well and water shortage is not a problem where I live. I will not buy a front loading model.I would not buy a machine that has options that I do not need. I would hope to find a quality machine similar to what I have now. I would read as many ratings about the various models before making a selection and then I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. If it is possible, try and find a good quality machine that will be dependable over time. Buy a basic machine with only the options that you really need. There will be fewer parts to stop working.

I bought Maytag washer 15 months ago and the washer is now leaking from the bottom. My floor was damaged from the leakages. I have not use the washer much in the past 14 month because its just me in the household. I will never buy a Maytag product.

It is impossible to dry clothes in the dryer without the worst wrinkles you can imagine. I have 2 of them and they are both horrible machines!! The drum spins too fast which causes the clothes to get stuck against the tumbler fins. The centrifugal force holds them there and they just ride around without tumbling in the drum. When the cycle is finished the clothes have been dryer while jammed up against the fins and they are so wrinkled you have to wash them again. The ONLY way to get them through a drying cycle without a tremendous amount of wrinkles is to stop the machine every 5-8 minutes and fluff the clothes around inside the drum by hand. DO NOT BUY!!

Maytag used to have a reputation for quality. Their low water energy efficient Centennial is a waste of money. Half of the time clothes come out wet and most of the time they are still dirty. Also you are only supposed fill the tub 1/4 of the way with clothes so you end up doing 3 times as many loads per week. What genius came up with this idea? Save your money. You would get better results washing your clothes in a tub with a washboard. Seriously!

To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command. We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

In August of 2009, we had an opportunity to remodel our kitchen plus add new windows and doors. How exciting! SO we had put down new flooring in our kitchen that matched our oak cabinets and since we had a little money saved, we wanted to purchase new appliances to match. We purchased a Maytag side by side with ice and water in the door. It also had the fingerprint resistant stuff on the outside. It cost about $1300. You buy name brand so they will last a while but here we are November 12, 2014, 7 years later and the compressor goes out. If repaired, it will cost $8090 to fix. Why do I want another Maytag. I have read all the complaints. I have similar issues with Maytag Bravos. I’m frustrated that modern tech products stink to high heaven, especially when we refer to clean clothes not being cleaned well. The specific issues I keep getting are the following: the LF codes appear and the cold water does not fill so that it wont rinse or drain. I have replaced the defective washers and that helped for one load. I refuse to fix it. Why throw good money out for the same bad product? I’m looking for a no bells and whistles washer or dryer that works. I have issues with the dryer, too. No more Maytag products in the future. Question: Who truly makes a good reliable product nowadays?

We bought a Maytag Refrigerator, Model MSB27C2XAMSS from BrandsMart on 2/4/2015. Today, I made my 4th Service Call for the Ice Maker not making ice. The service department has replaced the icemaker, repaired it and still does not work. When I call for service I usually have to wait 5-7 days before I can have a technician come to my home. Also, the refrigerator door does not close unless you push it completely to the refrigerator, unlike most refrigerators that I have had. I would never buy another Maytag refrigerator and certainly will make an informed and researched decision before buying another refrigerator. I am truly dissatisfied with this refrigerator and would suggest looking for other brands.

Well I must say I concur with all previous posts. I just replaced my Bravos with a Samsung after my jet plane of a washer died. My repair guy said it was not worth it to fix it. I had already replaced the shocks two years ago but I did have mine for 8 years. I have had the same problems as previous posts - rust, smell, holes, broken, too expensive! Hello to Samsung!!

After 16 months my Maytag dishwasher control panel went bad. The company told me they could not help me. I asked for a new control panel to install myself, no luck. I bit the bullet and bought one online for 110 dollars. 2 months later... you guessed it, its bad. Now I have to send it back under warranty. It was a Maytag name brand OEM part. I thought Maytag was a reliable name, I thought wrong. Never again.

Received this Maytag dishwasher model MDW7749SBW1 as a gift from my son in June 2013 when my old dishwasher finally quit. January 2014, the soap/rinse aid dispenser did not work. Called Maytag and they sent repairman who replaced the part. Still did not work so repairman said another part was not communicating with the dispenser so he replaced that part. Worked fine. No charge since it was under warranty. Now its July 2014 and the touch panel doesnt work. Called for repair and was told since it is out of warranty, it will cost about $350 to repair. I called Maytag about this and said that I had a defective appliance. I was told that since I didnt buy the extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. I mentioned my last Maytag lasted 25 years and had only two minor repairs so I didnt see any reason to buy an extended warranty. I thought I was buying a good product. I was told shed register my complaint. Waiting for my repairman to come out tomorrow and see what he can do. I also have a Maytag stove. Wonder how long that will last?

I bought the bravo 2 1/2 years ago. It started making loud banging noises during the cycle. I constantly had to rebalance my load. Then it stopped spinning at the end of the cycle or it would leave clothes wet. We had a repairman in and he told us that it would cost at least 600.00 for a new computer. Plus labor. Wow!!! I think a washing machine should last longer than that. Maytag should have a recall on this machine as I have read so many complaints about it.

MER8700DH - Within 6 months, left rear burner stopped working and Maytag repaired it under warranty. Within next 6 months, and just before end of warranty, right front burner stopped working and again Maytag covered it under warranty. Within the second year of ownership, the oven was not working correctly and Maytag refused to cover it because it was off warranty. So I called a local appliance repair company who gave me an estimate of over $300 to repair it and basically advised against repair stating that this stove was a piece of junk. So I replaced it with a GE and junked the old one before it was even two years old. I filed a complaint with Maytag. At first they said they would go half on the labor, but then they said I should have bought the extended warranty and refused all further help.

I do not have a problem with Lowes; the problem is this crummy washer. Any digital anything is only as good as its programmer, and it seems that all digital stuff suffers from the same malady. I long for the old top loader I had 30 years ago. It actually did get the clothes cleaner and they did not smell after being washed. Plus, I could customize each load just exactly the way I wanted to with the knobs and dials. This Maytag goes to Error when adding water because I have an old well which does not supply enough water fast enough for the way it was programmed. I have to fill two two-gallon buckets and carry them to the laundry room and pour them into the washer. Every time. Hot, cold, or warm, it doesnt matter. And I, too, have to pre-wash some dirtier items. The old gasoline Maytag did a better job than this one. And this is progress!!!

The dishes need to be washed off to be sure they will be clean. It holds a lot of dishes. You can put it on a short wash or long one. Leaves water on base of glasses sometimes. Holds moisture. Heavy wash, normal wash, light wash, rinse only, auto clean, delay 1-9, heated dry, sanitize, tough scrub, extra rinse. Regular size 24. Beige color. Electronic buttons. Maytag Quiet Series 200: I do not like the racks for putting dishes in. Otherwise it holds a lot. It does not clean dishes if you do not rinse them off first. If you run the dishwasher immediately after putting dishes in it will clean them off. Sometimes it leaves water standing. Even with what I have said I really like this dishwasher. We have had the dishwasher a long time. We use it at least 2 times a week.

I was sooo excited to get this very very very expensive washer and dryer only to have the worst disappointment and let down...the washer in particular is horrible!!! It doesn’t wash!!! I thought I was crazy until I started reading all of these other reviews and found that many more people have had the same experience as I have... The tub never fills with water and the clothing never gets clean. I would love to start a class action against Maytag and get my money back or get a replacement.

The salesman tried to convince me to purchase a Bosch dishwasher, but I wanted one with a fingerprint-resistant finish. That narrowed my selection to several manufacturers. This dishwasher has a food grinder in it. It gets my dishes spotlessly clean, and I have been very happy with it.

We purchased a 3K Maytag refrigerator/freezer and purchased an extended warranty as well. 5 months later the ice machine stopped working. We called Maytag to get it repaired since its under the 1 yr factory warranty and they sent an appliance service company they contract with to repair it. 6 service calls and two months later its still not repaired. I called Maytag back to say if you cant fix it please replace it. They say it needs to be deemed not repairable to even consider replacement and that they would send out a different repair company. As of yesterday (9/(9/14) another month and a half and 5 trips from the second repair company and it still does not work, so I call Maytag again to complain and they give me the same line ....needs to be deemed unrepairable... How long and how many service calls does it take to fix a ice maker? How much work and how many hours do I need to miss to get what I paid for? I went to their website and it talks about how their mission statement is customer service etc, etc, etc..... Thats just a bunch of lip service and judging by the HUNDREDS of complaints I have read this is their standard method of operation.... I for one will not let this go and will be filing a claim in small claims court to get what I paid for..... BE WARNED if you are looking to purchase a appliance.

I bought a Maytag refrigerator from Lowes. It has the freezer on bottom and I cannot put no fruits or vegetables in my refrigerator - it freezes them solid. Will never purchase this style of refrigerator again. Very Unsatisfied with this product

I purchased a dishwasher for $741 in December 2012. I called customer service department who told me that I should expect to pay since I did not buy the extended warranty. I thought by buying a high end appliance it would last 5 years without the control panel giving out ($300 cost with installation). Please DO NOT buy this brand!!!

We purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot; a couple months later the dryer started to rattle so we contacted Maytag and they sent a service tech out who stated this was normal as the dryer was settling and parts are not as tight as they are when new. This was a garbage response and he was asked to leave. I contact Maytag again, told them of the problem and the tech response and they offered to send another tech out except I would have to pay for the service call since they already sent someone out. I sent them an audio file of the rattle, no reply. Eventually Home Depot ended up replacing the dryer as Maytag refused to help me despite it being in the warranty period.

I purchased a Maytag gas range after remodeling my kitchen. I thought I was getting a good product, boy was I wrong. The ceramic gas grates are so slippery that pots tend to slide off but the real problem is that the racks inside the oven fall when you place pots on them. I tried cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in it and the racks fell to the bottom of the oven. It appears that the top rack and the bottom rack are the only two that stay in place. And it also appears that when the oven is on, the sides of the oven expand so that the racks fall. I have tried to contact Sears as thats where it was purchased to no avail. I will now attempt to contact Maytag directly but it appears that I will also not get anywhere there. I have read at least one other complaint of this exact same type happening to someone else. This is very dangerous. Do they really want a lawsuit?

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. Maytag used to be a good name, but recommend you to buy something else.

We have had this machine for too long. It starts banging and making tremendous amounts of noise. We have balanced it and tried loading it in different ways but when it starts to spin it apparently tries to even the load somehow that results in very loud noises and movement of the washer in the laundry room. Terrible machine. If we could afford it we would trash this one in a heartbeat and buy a different brand.

I would highly recommend you do some research on the Maytag bravos XL machines and dryer.This thing is about as good as a piece of paperweight thrown in the fire for no good of nothing. Warranty ran out but it has a 10 year warranty so I don’t understand, bought one year ago been broke down three times in that time. Speed queen all the way.

Had the washer for less than 3 months just a week before the 90 warranty was up and it stopped spinning. Called service dept. What a joke for this company that keep yessing you. Took a week before someone came out. Said washer needed a new motherboard and they would only cover it once but there seems to be a ongoing issue with their motherboard. Had to wait over 2 1/2 weeks before they would have one in stock. The tech installed it however now when it spins seems she left the top loose.

In 2003, I purchased a brand new Maytag washer and dryer set, I chose Maytag because of their reputation. Within the first 6 months, I had a bearing go bad on it and that had to be fixed. It has become noisier and noisier throughout the years and now it is leaking all over the floor when I do a load. I am single, I live alone, I do laundry very seldom and do not do large loads. I am so disappointed with Maytag. When the repairman came out initially to fix it, he said that the brand he fixes most often is Maytag. Expensive lesson learned, Ill never buy any type of Maytag product again.

18 months old washer breakdown #6 - I purchased a new out of the box washer from Aarons model #MVWC7ESWWO and since Ive owned it, it has broken down repeatedly with the same problem - a water inlet valve. As a child seeing the commercial with the repairman with nothing to fix played a part in my purchase, I couldnt be more unhappy. With a family of five, there is laundry and not having a reliable washer does present a problem. I sent you this while waiting for the part to arrive from Sears. Sincerely, an unsatisfied customer.

Bought new washer and dryer from Home Depot. The worst washer and dryer I ever bought. Own 11 house all have washer and dryers. Bought Maytag on brand reputation. Washer does not rinse close at all. They come out full of lint and soap. It rips sheets up. Takes like 70-90 minutes to wash and close have to be washed over cause they dont rinse out. Dryer takes (2) runs to dry. Depot said they couldnt take them back. $300 Roper washer and dryer work much better than these units I paid like $1100.00 for. Maytag reputation is **. I have Amana front loads in another house that wash in 29 minutes and they come out perfect. Amana dryer works great also. DONT BUY MAYTAG ON THEIR ** REPUTATION AND CONSUMER SERVICE WONT DO ANYTHING!!! I would add the receipt but it just a waste of time.

We like the refrigerator and we have had it several years. But the thing the top freezer conceals much of the top rack of refrigerator. We must duck and almost kneel to get to food inside. Next fridge will have drawers and doors that open on both sides.

We purchased the Maytag MDB8959SAS0 dishwasher about 2.5 years ago. A couple of days ago, the lights on the control panel started blinking and beeping erratically. I contacted Maytag and they said the control board likely needs to be replaced to the tune of around $250, not including labor! We spent $800 on this dishwasher and it cant even last 3 years?? Ridiculous. The only other advice the service rep. had was that we should have bought the extended warranty. Gee, thanks. I guess with Maytag, you really DO need that extended warranty because their products are junk. I think I will just scrap this dishwasher and go with a Bosch. We also have a Maytag range that needed servicing after owning it for only 18 mos. And a Maytag dryer that needed servicing after a month (at least that was under warranty). I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again... they are complete junk.

I thought I was nuts - only 2 of water in a full machine of bedding or clothes. I agree with all the other one star remarks - clothes still dirty, still dry, hardly any water and if you use the bedding selection, it takes nearly 2 hours to wash a load and then it doesnt spin dry so you have to rinse and spin again. Very disappointed with the machine. Yes - class action lawsuit? How do we do this.

Went from an old simple Maytag to newer model, but still somewhat basic compared to others. However still getting used to the water saver feature in that getting in the right amount of detergent as not to have it set on my clothes and having to put through another rinse cycle and a more slimmer agitator. But do like the Maytag brand.

Our dishwasher developed a smell. We do regular maintenance and care of this dishwasher. Come to discover the entire thing is full of mold. Customer service is rude and expects us to wait two weeks for a service person to come out. Will not use the dishwasher because it is probably making our family sick. I have never experienced customer service like this. DO NOT BUY DISHWASHERS FROM THEM. They don’t care the product is defective and they don’t care about their customers or their safety.

Purchased French Door MF12269VM 22 inch from The Brick furniture April 1, 2012. Turned out to be a real April fools joke. Purchased extended warranty with TransGlobal for 5 years. First, fridge delivered after about a couple of weeks because it actually wasnt in stock. Naughty Brick lied about availability. Fridge arrives and after a service call from Maytag repair, they ascertain compressor doesnt work.Order fridge number 2. Two weeks later, get second fridge but lever for dispensing water is broken off. Order fridge number 3. Usual two-week wait and fridge finally arrives but the whole side panel is damaged. Send it back and order Fridge number 4. Service from Brick, Maytag and Whirlpool, terrible customer relations. Misrepresented delivery dates, supply issues, and operational damages.Fridge finally installed. Ice maker operates intermittently for the next year. Service techs from TransGlobal offer a variety of suggestions including changing filter, water pressure issues. Finally ice maker stops entirely in Summer of 2013. Is replaced after a month of waiting for parts of which the wrong part was sent. Ice maker continued to operate intermittently. Sometimes just a small of ice or no ice for a day. Finally in May after another service call, ice maker stopped working for about 4 days. Tech comes out and miraculously, it starts working again. A month later stops again and hasnt worked since.Contacted TransGlobal off shore call centre? And arranged to have an assessment to see if we needed a new fridge. Request declined and Maytag (Whirlpool) sent a tech out after another week. Service tech recommended new freezer. Waited a week for parts and arranged for Service tech to replace ice maker. Wrong ice maker part (for the second time) in less than a year.The latest trick from our possessed fridge is recent alarms from the temperature control. To say we are disappointed in this product, the retail experience, the quality of the manufacturing, the shipping procedures, the poor engineering and design, doesnt come close to describing the shoddiness surrounding this appliance and the service weve received.In conclusion, we are still awaiting an ice maker and are contemplating buying another fridge. What it is fair to say, we will never ever buy another appliance with their the Whirlpool or Maytag attached to it. Nor will we ever again buy anything from the Brick, or depend upon TransGlobal for repair services. Are there other Manufacturers and retailers out there who understand the meaning of service and quality. I certainly hope so. Otherwise Im going to invest in a good icebox.

I have a front loader dryer, model number MAH5500BWW, serial number A9147862ec. All of a sudden, I found water on the floor and after opening up the front door, I see where around the part that sticks of on the inside of the door, there is a big piece of plastic that has broken off and cracked all the way across the bottom of the door and is missing. It is allowing the water to leak down the front of the bottom of the washer and onto the floor.

I bought a new Maytag Quiet Series 300 in 2005 and have had nothing but problems with it. The internal plastic pieces that hold dishes in place have broken off regularly. The door handle also broke. The dishwasher does not drain all the way every time. Now, the dishwasher will quit randomly before finishing its cycle. Our model (MDB7600 AWB) was not part of the recall, but is a lemon nonetheless. Of course, all of this occurred after our one year warranty had expired. This dishwasher is a lemon and a waste of $400. Well never buy another Maytag product.

I bought this machine because it has a (deep water wash), which means there is a lot of water, enough to cover the clothes, at least I thought so, the salesman seemed to think so as well! But no, it does not come close to covering the clothes, false advertising! I must put my clothes in a large bucket, soak the clothes with water, then bring the bucket to the washer and empty it into it, because of the weight of the water, the machine adds almost enough water to cover the clothes.Another big problem with this washer is the fact that if I lift the top in mid-wash, while I do something, not wanting to listen to the irritating sound it makes in my apartment, after 10 minutes it starts to drain and there is no way to stop it, I must wait until it completely drains and restart the machine. This machine has the stench of government on it!!! My advice, keep your old machine.

Purchased a new top loading HE washer in 9/2012. This machine gets very little use - approximately 10-12 loads a month. It is now broken awaiting parts which will cost about $200. Of course the warranty is only good for 12 months There is no excuse for a washer this new breaking and costing this much to repair. What a piece of junk! Avoid all Maytag products.

The bleach dispenser will dispense bleach BUT it is full of water after each use. The dispenser is flushed with water by the machine at the engineered time in the cycle. The warranty service companies want me to pay around $300 ($100 + $70/ hr) for them to work on it. I have to use a measuring cup and pour water into the dispenser until it begins to siphon out. Stop pouring, and the dispenser will be empty for the next addition of bleach. The washer is allowing water to partially fill the dispenser AFTER the bleach has been flushed/siphoned out into the load of clothes. If the flush water were completely shut off after flushing operation, the dispenser should be empty.

Double door Maytag 3 years old has been leaking water in freezer floor and forming sheet of ice. After reading the reviews, I may decide to buy a different brand. Why spend more money on repairs! Very bad experience!

Oven failed after 2.5 years of normal use (1-2x / week). Apparently a relay failed (and burned out bake element). Contacted service & parts dept and learned that repair would cost $100 for service visit and $413 to replace the control board. Only the $80 bake element is covered by the limited warranty. Wonderful oven if your hobby is appliance repair. After 2.5 years, it now functions better as a toilet than an oven.

MVWC565FWO Maytag Top Load - Bought a new washing machine less than six months ago... extremely noisy: Clank, Clank, Clank, Clank, etc. Reviews said it was just noisy, nothing wrong with it. Last week it would not spin the clothes dry. Now when it is plugged in, it does nothing but run the pump! No lights, no water. Also the deep wash was never deep at all - barely covered a modest load of laundry. Repair coming today. Wish I could return it.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL Commercial Technology top loading washer, model # MVWB850YWO, in May 2012 and it was delivered in August 2012 due to a home purchase not being consummated. Anyway, I bought this washer and the matching dryer at Lowes and purchased a 4 year extended warranty with Lowes. This would cover me with a warranty through August 2017. I had some problems with the washer while under warranty and had it repaired at least twice. I have had, and still do, have a water leakage in the washer. The water when dispensing into the detergent compartment splashes over and you would think it would just go into the tub. Someway the water leaks down the inside of the washer and runs out onto the floor also causing rust to the inside of the front panel. The resolution was to turn the water pressure down on the supply lines. When this was done, the washer would quit running due to not enough water being dispersed into the drum. A replacement seal was installed and I still have the same problem. The repairmans final resolution was to put tape over half of the detergent dispenser to hold the water in the detergent dispenser and still allow me to put detergent in the dispenser. So, a towel is in front of the washer to soak up any leakage. Now, just 5 months after the extended warranty expired, the bearings under the wash tub are starting to roar during the spin cycle. I contacted Lowes service again and basically I am out of luck. The repair cost is expensive, the part and requires 2-3 hours of labor. I decided to chuck this washer and buy a new one. My wife found one that has an agitator, unfortunately another Maytag, and wants it as she has said the Bravos washer never seemed to get the clothes clean (due to not having an agitator). When checking online for references on a new washer and any recalls on my current washer, I discovered other Bravos XL owners having the same problem with the bearings in the tub. I contacted a local business to try and sell it to him for cheap and when I told him what was wrong with my washer his reply was, I have one just like it out back with the same problem. Dont need two problems. Cant even get rid of a Maytag washer due to it being junk. Many other reviews have listed problems with Maytag products especially since Whirlpool bought them. The Maytags of today are not your parents Maytag. Used to be the Maytag repairman sat around his office waiting for repair calls. This has changed considerably since Maytag sold out to Whirlpool. After doing some research, it seems Whirlpool has bought just about every company selling washers and dryers and are making them as a disposable item. I would advise not purchasing any product that is under the Whirlpool corporate umbrella as I feel whatever they buy, even a superior product like Maytag, they cheapen the product and try to benefit from the name, as in the case with Maytag. So, no more Maytag or Whirlpool products for me until they have proven they can build a quality product once again. Hello GE!!!!

My Maytag model MMV4205BAB microwave turns on and heats when the door is closed. We paid a lot of $$ for this overhead microwave and it has not been a satisfactory product. The turntable broke within a couple of months and now this. Im afraid it will burn my house down. This is a defective product and in my opinion it should be recalled. I have read several other posts about this exact model and problem. We purchased all Maytag appliances for our new home and we have had problems with all of them. The auger on the ice maker on the freezer broke within a couple of months. The handle on the oven door broke off while the builder was installing the appliances, and the top of the line dishwasher doesnt clean the dishes. It leave deposits on everything, no matter the detergent used. Ill never purchase Maytag again!

My daughter purchased this washer and matching dryer as a set from Lowes about 4 years ago. It was one of the few with an agitator and that is what she wanted. After using the washer for the first time she was very disappointed to find that the shortest cycle took over an hour and that the locking lid feature couldnt be bypassed. A few weeks ago the washer began gushing water onto the floor which flooded the basement below. She had purchased an extended warranty which was due to expire the following week.She called Lowes and scheduled a repairman. He finally came 2 weeks later and used the Internet to help him diagnose the problem!!! We could have done that. He decided that the control panel was only allowing the agitator to turn in one direction during the wash cycle. So essentially it was spinning a tub full of clothes and water causing lots of water to overflow the tub onto the floor. Needless-to-say he had to order a part and cant return for over 2 weeks to install it. IF this is even the problem! He also said he couldnt disable the locking lid feature! If my daughter had been able to open the lid when the problem started she would have known more about it.We are thankful her machine was under warranty but she will have been without a machine for almost 2 months when and if it is fixed. This is completely unsatisfactory for a gently used 4 year old washer. The dryer takes forever to dry also. If you are buying Maytag based on how long your grandmothers machine lasted, you will be disappointed! This washer caused so much damage we had to file a homeowners insurance claim!

My stove is approximately nine years old. During the past year both my husband and I enjoy cooking from recipes 3-4 times a week thus the stove has become essential. Functionality and size is important when trying to cook meals with two or three components. One of the oven racks was missing from the oven when we moved into the house. Even though it is self cleaning, spills pile up between cleanings so it is great that it has a really cool steam cleaning option. Just wish it were 5-6 years newer.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Washer at the end of last year. Within 2 weeks, I knew it wasnt a good washer and asked my husband if we could return it. He said, No. I dont like using the fabric softener dispenser, so I used to use a Downy ball. This washer doesnt spin hard enough to open the ball. I tried 3 separate times. Each time, the ball came out with the fabric softener in it at the end of the cycle just like it was when I put it in. It also doesnt get the clothes clean. Im using chlorine bleach, detergent and OxiClean and our whites are gray. It doesnt get the simplest stain out and the soak feature is a joke. If you use the soak feature, the washer fills up, the lid locks, it soaks and then the water drains out. No spin or anything.Normally, on the old washers, you could just push the knob in to stop the agitation to soak something, but not now. The lid locks, which I cant stand, when the washer is working. I would like to see if it is agitating or to add more clothes if I want. Im not sure who designed this washer, but they should go back to the drawing board. Ive tried every cycle and none of them work well. It also takes an hour to wash a load of clothes. Im just so disappointed with Maytag on every level. This was my first Maytag purchase and it will be my last.

I purchased the Maytag Bravo model MGDB950YG on April 22, 2012. It worked great for a while then stopped heating and drying the clothes. After going through the Maytag procedure, a repair person assessed the problem, had to order the part then came back to repair it. But the same thing just happened again! Both Maytag and HHGregg need to go through the appropriate procedures, which leaves me without a dryer for who knows how long this time. Maytag will not do next day service probably because it costs them a little more. I think Maytag should have enough common sense to sometimes make exception to this. Today is Thursday and I cant get an appointment until Monday! I have owned two dryers prior to this which each lasted 10 years plus. I would be much more understanding if I had my appliance for more than 4 months (out of commission 2-3 weeks of the 4 months). Ive never been so disappointed in an appliance!

The functionality of this machine is so awful. I had the dealer replace it only to find that the awful noises that the machine makes, the fact that the clothes don’t get covered by the water and the clothes are so knotted after the spin cycle you have to untie them is normal for this awful appliance. In the sensing stage the machine groans like a laboring motor around 30 times, then stops with a jolt. My machine is next to the bedrooms and the noise wakes people up. Even in the “deep water” setting, the clothes are not covered by the water. The wash cycle is short and noisy and the spin cycle goes on forever. In the end I have to untie the legs of pants. Whoever designed this machine should be ashamed of herself or himself. Shame on Maytag.

My Bravos Washer and Gas dryer are only a few years old, and they have both been problematic to say the least! Neither Home Depot nor Maytag have been helpful. My washer has had the shocks replaced already, because it would constantly go off balance and shut down and they cant grease the bearings because they are sealed. So, now it sounds like an airport is in my laundry room! The gas dryer takes an entire day to half dry a load and its burnt on the inside!

I bought this washer almost 5 yrs ago and oil has been leaking from it. Called company who sent a tech to my home and declared it a total loss. All he did was tilt it for maybe 1 minute to determine this. I am out a washer. Nothing from this horrible company. They quit making the washer but cant even compensate the owner with anything to purchase a replacement. Will keep passing the word.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer so many years ago that I have forgotten when it was. They have performed admirably under trying conditions. Our washer finally needs replacing due to the buildup of scale from our very hard well water. This after about 30 years of good service. Looking to replace them and will probably buy another Maytag set when they go on sale.

Bought a Maytag Front Load MHW6000AW washer and had a problem with amount of water in wash cycle. Dealer sent service men 3 times and changed several parts but washer still did not work and both repairmen said they did not know what was wrong. They called Maytag Tech Support but those people did not listen and said if no code shows up the machine is operating properly. Maytag then sent another company repairman. He worked 2 hours and said he could not find the trouble and Maytag support hung up on him. Maytag then sent another company repairman and he did one test and said the machine is fine and left in about 15 minutes total time. Now Maytag refuses to send another company for another opinion but I have a $1200 machine that still does not work properly. I am totally dissatisfied with Maytag and will stay away from their products totally. Companies wonder why people buy foreign equipment and this is the answer. I had a Samsung washer and never had one bit of trouble with it.

Its an old story with Maytag. We purchased a refrigerator in Nov 2012. Three days ago we noticed the refrigerator was making a constant buzzing sound and that the freezer was not cold. A repairman confirmed our suspicions. Bad compressor! Cost to repair, $729. And, the warranty on the new compressor was only 90 days. Cost for a new one $1700. Contacted Maytag. We do offer extended warranties (up to 10 years on compressors) on some models, but not yours. So, we will get a new one but with the extended warranty. It wont be a Maytag.

I bought a new Maytag dishwasher 9 months ago from Costco - Maytag 24 in. Built-in Dishwasher with PowerBlast Cycle, White. This dishwasher needs a new motor - Please do not buy this dishwasher. It is garbage.

Purchased Maytag Washing Machine from Lowes in Alexandria Louisiana on January 12, 2021. Today is April 16, 2021 and it will no longer wash clothes and has horrible burnt smell coming from it when on wash cycle!!! Tried contacting Maytag Service but was kept on hold for almost 1 hour. I setup a service tech using the Maytag Service online and supposedly a technician will be here on Monday April 19, 2021....of which I seriously doubt will even show up based on some other reviews.Maytag as well as Lowes are SCAMMING people out of hard earned money by selling such garbage!! If LOWES or Maytag really cared about its customers it would see these Negative Reviews and do something about it. Lowes continues to sell this garbage which is why I am blaming them as well! DO NOT DEAL WITH LOWES OR MAYTAG PRODUCTS - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

We purchased a Maytag Dryer with the lint vent on top on March 21, 2014 from ABC Warehouse in Ann Arbor, MI. Whoever engineered this does not dry clothes. Trust me, this will be the last Maytag I buy. There is lint seeping out of the top and when you clean it the lint gets all over the place therefore, my laundry room is always full of dust.

I had a Maytag dishwasher for 17 years, and it has still worked fine when we moved to another state. At the end of 2010, I bought a new Maytag (1) because my old one performed so well and (2) we left it at our old house. Well, slightly over two years later, this piece of junk (Model MDB6709AWAQ1) needs almost $300 worth of repairs. The repairman said they are no longer made to last and have been that way since about the year 2000. All of the inner workings are run by electronics which only last about two years. I said, What happened; the Maytag repairman got tired of sitting around doing nothing? I would never ever purchase another Maytag dishwasher, or any other appliance made by them or Whirlpool which took over Maytag.

This one of the worst purchases I have ever made! Paid over $850 in March, 2015 for the Maytag Bravos XL. At first, we experienced leaking and now there is a terrible banging and clanging noise! Had an appliance repairman come to see what was going on. Apparently it needs a hub replacement and bearing replacement. Was told by two companies that it is not cost effective to fix it due to the amount of parts and labor.Aside from this major issue, I never felt that the clothes came out clean. Many times, the clothes would come out with detergent all stuck to the clothes and had to be rewashed. The softener and bleach dispensers are not removable and it is nearly impossible to get all the way into the cup in order to clean the mildew that builds up. The fabric softener dispenser always had gummed up chunks.Called Maytag several times to no avail. Was basically told - too bad its out of warranty. I have never heard of a washer giving out after 3 years! The worst part is that I have searched many places on the Internet and apparently the bearing problem seems to be a common issue with this washer. I purposely bought an American made product and am extremely disappointed in not only this product, but the company as a whole. The customer service department is awful. I will NEVER purchase Maytag or Whirlpool ever again. They lost my business for putting a terrible product on the market and refusing to acknowledge flaws. Interesting that this model is now discontinued, but they refuse to acknowledge the problems. Stay away from Maytag and/or Whirlpool!

Our Maytag Elite Series dryer is not under warranty but we have had nothing but issues with this dryer since we have had it. However, now I have holes in the heat intake at the back of the drum. This is so very dangerous and could cause a fire. I am certain this is a manufacturing flaw. How on earth does the inside of a dryer have parts that will not hold up to heat? At any rate, I want it fixed. The only way to fix it is to replace the drum. This has to be a flaw in design or manufacturing and this particular model should be recalled.

I think it would be nice to state on the box of dishwasher that customer may need a water connecting fitting and hose for their new dishwasher. Yes, I was asked if I needed anything else and I replied I dont think so! Well when I got home, I did need the water supply sweep 90 degree elbow. Or tell sales people to inform there are parts missing. I had to drive back to Huntsville, AL from Hazel Green. Not life or death, just saying! I do like Maytag products. The dishwasher I replaced was17 years old and we had good service! It’s just starting sounding like a rocket motor. Time to upgrade, I thought. Well my wife really thought so! ;)

I purchased my first Maytag dishwasher and it was recalled as being a fire hazard. I was offered to have it repaired or pay for an upgrade (approximately $200). I chose to pay and upgrade because I dont want a fire hazard in my home. After my paid replacement, I received a recall on the new dishwasher regarding the same issue (different model) and I chose once again to pay and upgrade (thinking that if I spent $700, I wouldnt have a problem). In less than two months of installation, the dishwasher died in the middle of a cycle. Filled with water, I bailed it out and called Maytag. I told them that I wanted a new one and they told me that I was past the replacement period. They sent a service man out and he stated that it was a problem with model # MDB7709AWB2 and serial # F03002958. He said that it was easy to fix and said he had done it several times. So now, within less than 1 month before my warranty is expired, the dishwasher did the same thing--it died in the middle of the cycle and wont turn on. I called Maytag and they told me that they would send out a third party repair company (JD Appliance) but I would have to wait for four days. I contacted Maytag and said that I was concerned about the dishwasher breaking down again for the same problem (bi metal unit blew). This is the second time it happened. Jeremy, the repair man, said that the first replacement was not installed properly and they should have replaced the entire unit. He stated that it was a common problem with that model, as did the first repairman in Dec 2010. When I spoke to a supervisor named Kia at 800-344-1274, she stated that they had no known issues with this model. I said that it was not what the repairman told me as well as the Maytag dispatcher. They both said that the heat sensor (Bi Metal Thermal Unit Part No. W10258275) goes up and has to be replaced because it is overly sensitive. If you are out of warranty, it costs around $200 to have it fixed. I told Kia and she said that it was not documented in her file, therefore, it never happened. I want to know my consumer rights to address this issue. I have paid for (on 3 occasions) a new dishwasher and have continuous issues that cost me money. I want an assurance like an extended warranty, free of charge, for the dishwasher that has already been repaired twice for the same exact problem. I have the original part that was improperly replaced to prove that it wasnt replaced to specifications, therefore, blowing it again. I was told by Kia that Maytag does not compensate or replace their products unless deemed not repairable by the technician. It doesnt matter how many time the same problem occurs. I would appreciate your attention to this matter.

I have a Maytag fridge/freezer model number MFF2557 10403089ER. The freezer keeps going out. The repairman replaced the computer board called a jazz board stating that the bulbs in the fridge part are too close to the board and the heat can cause the board to short out. He suggested switching bulbs to 25 watts which cannot be found for fridges. The freezer continues to go out and sometimes restarts itself or by flipping the breaker switch, brings it back. In the meantime, food is ruined. Yesterday, he put a new starter relay on the compressor stating that this series of fridge/ freezer has had a problem with the compressor and Maytag will not take responsibility for this. There is no recall at this time and we are waiting to see if this corrects the problem or if the freezer will continue to go out. Thank you for your help in this matter.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator and right away had a loud noise. Found out the ice maker was on even though we dont have it hooked up. Now our freezer isnt working. Food is defrosting and ruined. Bottom half of refrigerator is freezing everything. Our fruit and pop and water and lettuce all frozen. 4th time they came which is today. Now says our freon is low so well see what happens. The repairman was so rude he was yelling. We said our Popsicles turned to slush so he said, Dont buy any. He was so nasty. No more Maytag for us – waste of money. Even had the compressor replaced. Wasted 1100.00.

Discovered that thousands of others are having problems with the control panel on their dishwasher. Mine is Model # MDB7749SBM2. Looks as if I should just junk this horrible product and buy a new one (another brand, of course). My biggest concern is that I purchased other Maytag products along with this dishwasher, ie, a refrigerator-freezer, a built-in stove top/oven and a microwave. I have had a service call on the fridge (water line), the oven (gas) will indicate a set temperature (400 degrees for example) sometimes it will only be abt 200 degrees via a portable thermometer... Sometimes it doesnt ignite at all (have to reset it 3 or 4 times, the microwave has issues with the digital readouts, and on and on and on.I have only had these appliances about two years (after warranty expired) when each unit started exhibiting problems. I paid $175 for the fridge repair and am now considering biting the bullet & replacing everything as MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL apparently isnt going to take responsibility for any defect on ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS! Im 75 years of age, retired and cannot afford the replacement route but it looks like I dont have a choice unless someone has a better suggestion. I dont have the skills or energy to attempt the repairs myself.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer in 2009. I have had nothing but problems. Since, it seems that this washer was never tested nor perfected but just put on the market to sell to us, the consumers, the company does not care that this washer breaks down constantly. First the pump had to be replaced, then the tub was replaced. These were nothing compared to coins falling through to get caught in the pump and cause the washer not to drain. When I bought my washer, I also purchased an extended warranty not knowing that if the washer were to breakdown to many times, Maytag would refuse to repair under the service plan that I purchased because now they are telling me that by letting the coins fall through is abuse of the washer. Really so what they are saying is accidents will not be covered, I thought thats why we purchase insurance.Thank You, Maytag. I will never buy your product again.

Maytag French door Bottom Mount Model # MFT2976AEW02 - Purchased this model refrigerator in late 2013. Had minor problems with ice maker for last 6 months, not have freezer problems, as the bottom freezer is not keeping food frozen. Called repairman today. He ran 64 checks on refrigerator, said to keep eye on problem and he will re check in 24 hours. Called private company, Maytag in Latrobe. They referred us to the Maytag repairman. We will keep you posted. We moved all of our frozen food to a downstairs older freezer for safekeeping. Keep checking, we will update.

My husband purchased the Maytag Bravo December 2013. We immediately started noticing clothes been destroyed and stains still in clothes. We immediately contacted Whirlpool and shared our concerns and they sent out technician. He stated that the motherboard was gone. After repairing the motherboard, that do not stop our clothes from being destroyed and making them clean. I have wrote numerous letter to the CEO of whirlpool and sent pictures. When they decide to call you back months have passed and still they do not want to help you. Whirlpool have refused to take responsibility for a bad product they invented. They do not stand by their mission. Someone please help the consumer, because this big corporation refuse.
