Duck bill valve for defrost water from freezer malfunctions, water flows into freezer freezes, then eventually overflows onto floor. Huge problem for folks with wood floors. Also a slip/fall danger especially for the elderly. When the repair line is contacted, they deny the problem and say you are the only one. But if you do your research, you find there are hundreds of complaints and in November 2013 they issue a service bulletin, but its internal, not meant for consumers to find out. So if you have this problem, go to the Consumer Product Safety Commission and fill out a complaint. Maybe then something may come of it.

I spent over 2000 on a Maytag refrigerator. In less than 5 years, the coolant system has gone out twice! The only response I get is, “We are sorry, but it is 5 years old.” Are you kidding me? I have a 20-year-old fridge in the garage that is still working and I didnt spend over $2k on it! I thought Maytag was the best product out there and it certainly is not. Do not ever buy Maytag.

I have had this refrigerator for a few years and never have had a problem. It keeps food uniformly cold, and is frost free. While appearance is attractive, it doesnt look like a $3,000 refrigerator. However, black pebbled-surface exterior is easy to clean and scratch-resistant. Plastic and glass interior fittings also have held up very well. I originally thought it would be too small because I was buying it to fit a certain space in the kitchen. But it has turned out to be just the right size because there is no wasted space inside. I bought this at Home Depot on sale for about $400.00 and it has turned out to be an excellent buy. Delivery was on time, efficient, and people were polite and helpful. Refrigerator was ready to be used about 15 minutes after delivery arrived. I have found Maytag appliances to be extremely reliable and made to last. They have never disappointed me. I will continue to buy them. I highly recommend it.

Sears washing machine model # mvwx500xwo - This machine is the worst. My mother who is 87 years old smells like mold every day due to the smell that comes from this machine. Im not sure whats going on but the plumber told us there is something very wrong with this machine. Its not the hot or cold water that smells, its the machine. I am now concerned about my mothers health. Please advise if you will allow us to purchase another machine with some kind of a credit due to the serious issue this machine has.

My Maytag refrigerator is less than 5 years old; the compressor went out (only warrantied for 1 year, 5 years used to be the minimum). I contacted the company who now owns Maytag, I believe Whirlpool. They told me they can fix it, no matter what the problem is, for $380.00. It turns out they sold me an extended warranty, but that was never explained in the conversation. Prior to contacting them, I had Sears out to fix it; they are the ones that told me it was the compressor. 1 week after buying the extended warranty, the repair company came out to fix it and found out the refrigerator was unplugged and informed me it needed to be plugged in for 24 hours in order for him to determine what was wrong with it. I scheduled an appointment 1 week later. When they came back, they said it was the compressor, and they needed to order the parts. 1 week later, they came back, and the compressor they came with did not work. 3 weeks now, no refrigerator. They said they would put a rush on the order, haha. Now, I have to wait another 8 days for them to come out to repair. 4 weeks without a refrigerator? I think there is some type of implied warranty when you purchase large appliances; these companies are getting away with murder. Are refrigerators now disposable commodities? Cheaper to buy new ones than repair the new ones? What will happen to our landfills?

We purchased a new Maytag Bravo washer and dryer on March 4, 2011. On January 26, 2015, our washer stopped spinning the clothes. We purchased these appliances while preparing for retirement, thinking we would possibly never have to purchase them again. There is only two of us! Wrote to Maytag (when it was still Maytag) and got a response of So sorry **, we can fix your washer for $319.00. We could buy a new washer for not much more than that!!!!!

I have had my washer and dryer for 14 months and from day one, my washer eats holes in my clothes. It is always the bottom center front of my shirts. I complained about this and was told it was my clothes. They were either old, or the type of fabric, or too much bleach, etc. etc. Everything was wrong with myclothes except the washer. I purchased a new shirt and washed it without ever had worn it, and when I took it out of the washer, it has holes in the front. NOW YOU TELL ME that is the shirt and not the washer. I have used Maytag for the past 40 years and I never had any problems with the old Maytag washers. This new Bravos is a piece of junk and I am sorry I ever purchased it. I will never buy another Maytag product.

I bought this new washer and dryer pair at Lowes August 2018. I chose this brand because of the very large wash tub (5.3 cu ft) since I have king size bedding. My previous washer was a front loader, and there were problems with the door seal molding and stinking, and loads had dry spots on them after washing. So within a very short time, I realized I hated this new washer. Very noisy, no agitator, very long cycles. You cannot adjust the time or water levels, and the biggest problem... I CANNOT REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB! I had to steal the grabby toy out of our toy box to pull the wet load out! The laundry comes out all tangled up and horribly wrinkled, even when using the wrinkle-free setting. I line dry a lot of my clothes and now have to iron everything. Never had to do that before. I know Im stuck with this set, but will look forward to the day when it dies and I can buy new ones again.

It was repaired and we began to have the same issues within the next couple of months. This all happened within the first year. We called customer service about extending our service warranty due to the multiple malfunctions of this washer. I have now been informed that the warranty was void because it was put in a dental office and not a single home. I said since it was never used I would put it in a house. I was not given a contact or phone number - nothing. I spent over $32,000 at Home Depot fixing up my fathers home and rentals and this is how Home Depot treats customers. Worse I have a worthless Maytag that ceased working after just 3 months. We have had a Maytag Bravos washer for a while, which has a see-through top load lid and a very small or low agitator. I have to say that I really miss the old fashioned agitator which makes all the clothes being dragged underwater and scrubbed well. We have watched the loads being washed in this washer many times and the clothes are not being swished around very effectively. You feel like you need to help it getting the clothes washed as it seem like it just sit in the same place throughout the cycle. The clothes ends up in big knots around the edges, and you can see the same towel sitting on the top during the 2-minute rinse cycle, never getting completely under water. During the wash cycle, the lid gets locked, so you are not able to open it up to untangle or move towels around if it has gotten unevenly distributed. The wash cycle is very quick, so all in all, Im not sure how clean the laundry really is when its done. We will never buy this kind of washer again.

We finished a kitchen tear out and full remodeling. From top to bottom adding the Maytag double oven insert into our cabinets. We checked out reviews and MANY stated that the oven's fans were LOUD! But we've had them now for 4 months and the reviews do NOT give an accurate account in my opinion. My wife loves using the ovens for all sorts of cooking and baking projects and the units are NOT LOUD at all. You'd have thought from what we read about the ovens that we were making a bad purchase but that's not the case. Quiet, even cooking and a GREAT PURCHASE. If your ovens are loud when cooling something must be wrong! Or maybe we got LUCKY!? I don't think that's the case at all but then I haven't used other's ovens only ours and we are pleased!!! 5 STAR for sure.

We have a 2 year old Maytag washer and dryer. 10 year warranty may I add. Well, we get 2 frantic calls that say, “They heard an explosion and the bottom of the house is flooded.” An explosion so violent that it shook our 3 story house and sounded like a bomb went off. Our washer and dryer are on the main floor. When we get there we found the washer top was dented so bad that it dented the bottom of the dryer that sat on top of it - blew the dryer door open! Blew the front of the detergent compartment and blew the side apart! Scared my mother and father in law who lives downstairs and who is bound to a wheelchair! Not to mention the fact that it flooded the basement and ruined the ceiling and Maytag says they will replace the washer! Are you serious? Who wants another washer which may or may not explode! What about the damage to my house! This just happened a couple of hours ago! We are very ticked off and not happy with We will replace the washer! Bad, bad business. This is not where it ends! I want my house repaired and won’t settle for anything less! Shame on you Maytag for putting profit above quality! Consumers beware!

I started hearing the Maytag Microwave MMV4203DW00 beeping this morning after breakfast. I had not used it since the night before to heat up soup in a Corning Ware bowl. Its doing that 5E thing and nothing on the control panel works. Ive unplugged it, waited, plugged it back in and the same thing. It starts off saying Select Clock and 5E and then stops on the 5E. I bought this in Aug. 2010 and it is vented out the wall. Of course, that doesnt work now. The metal rack has never been put in it. Im single and the only one who uses it and I dont use it very much either. And this model only got the one 40-watt regular bulb over the range - lousy. And it doesnt work now either. And the control panel lights up orange. Had I known that, I would have never bought it in the first place. Of course, the stupid orange 5E lights up. Im unplugging it for good. Its not worth fixing. Do not buy this microwave!

We recently purchased a Maytag Washer/Dryer set, but shortly after it arrived, we realized it was way too big for our needs, so traded it in for a smaller model (Model #MVWB765FC3). After a few washes, it developed a loud clicking noise during the entire wash cycle. Inquired about it at the retailer we purchased it from (showed them video of it) and was told it was not supposed to make that noise. Subsequently the Maytag Repairman paid us a visit and told us theres nothing wrong with the machine and that the retailer should not have told us what they did.#1). The machine did not make that noise initially. It started after a few loads of laundry. #2). The first machine we brought home was the same model (only larger) and that one didnt make that noise. To add insult to injury, the repairman has the audacity to tell my husband, Well, this visit didnt cost you anything. Really?! It cost him 4 hours of pay while he sat home waiting for you! In addition, we were delivered two cosmetically defective dryers that had to be returned. Furthermore, when I was washer/dryer shopping, I sent Maytags Customer Service Dept. an e-mail through their website asking questions about the product. To this day, I have still not received a response. I had a bad experience about 20 years ago with Maytag, but thought Id give them a second chance. I tell you...there will not be a 3rd time.

I purchased Maytag Bravos XL Steam Washer brand new from Lowe’s in January 2018. HORRIBLE washer! Does not get clothes clean and leaves soap and scum all over clothes. I have to wash everything on power wash with an additional rinse cycle (takes about 2 hours per load) and clothes still don’t come out clean. I often have to wash a load 2 or 3 times to get it clean. Will NEVER PURCHASE another Maytag product! What is even worse is that I also bought the Maytag “commercial technology” washer at the same time. It’s an even more TERRIBLE washer. Cannot get through one cycle without getting an LF (low flow) error & the cycle shuts off and machine drains & quits. Absolutely the two WORST washers I’ve ever owned in the past 40 years!!!

It also leaves soap stains on all the clothes by since it doesnt agitate enough. Nothing is wrong with the unit, just a horrible engineering piece of crap. This Maytag (1979 model) is about as good as other dishwashers (I always rinse before placing in machine). It does have a lot more buttons that are not used than the last one I used (installed in the 1950s). Delayed start, choice of preheating water or not, choice of drying. Not big enough to do everything when have company and too big to use when no visitors present. When I am alone it takes 3 months to get enough to fill the machine and by that time they are getting moldy so most of the time I wash by hand. Black glass front with imposing row of controls across the top. I normally do not generate enough dirty dishes to warrant having a dishwasher. Since my wife died I have used the dishwasher two to three times a year.

Dishwasher Control Panel MDB7749AWM2 - Purchased unit on 11/22/2011. June of 2014 my start button stopped working, and after searching online I guess I consider myself lucky. Spent 38 minutes on Maytag consumer service site speaking to a rep who walked me thru a reset that did not help and then explained that my machine was no longer under warranty and $149 for the service call and the cost of the part assuming it was a control panel would total over $250 on a machine I spent $500 on. I spoke to a supervisor who was only willing to sell me a control panel at 50% off and do it yourself, and while they claim there are no consumer issues with this part, they stated that the warranty on the part is only 90 days. I told them this was the last Maytag/Whirlpool/KitchenAid appliance I would purchase and they did not seem to care so I will be moving on to another dishwasher since I will not invest $250 in a fix of an item that they will only stand by for 90 days!

I bought a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in February 2012, $700. After a few months, the buttons stopped working and the machine was unresponsive. I called Home Depot and they fixed it under the warranty. This continued to happen every 2-3 months. After a year of dealing with this, the warranty expired and I had to purchase the manufacturer extended warranty with Maytag, $240 for 5-years of coverage. The problem continued, and every few months, the thing would stop working and I would have to call for service - 2 to 4 weeks without a dishwasher waiting for service appointment then parts and another appointment for the repair.Perhaps my machine was just a lemon. I dont think they make that model anymore. Heres the number so that you can avoid a three year headache of a machine, MD87749 AWM2. I will say that after MANY agonizing phone calls with warranty company, after 2 years of ongoing service calls, they eventually issued me a check to replace my lemon.

It sounds like an old threshing machine... I have to close the laundry door it is so loud. People cant believe its a new machine. So saving water is the big deal we hear so much about...but water is the main cleaning agent and it hardly covers the clothes even on a full load coverage. Do not use bleach in the machine unless the load contains ONLY WHITES. It just destroyed a new pink top as it spurts out the bleach without any controls. It does not get whites or clothes clean and just twists the clothes to the point everything you wear has to be ironed. I remodeled my kitchen last year. I purchased a stove, a dishwasher and a built-in microwave. Two days ago, I was trying to cook rice in the microwave. I changed the heat to 50% to cook the rice, started to cook and I heard this awful noise like a shot gun went off in the kitchen but the microwave was still going, I opened the microwave door and then I turned on the microwave again. At that time, it started to rattle on top of the microwave and shorted out. Black smoke was come out and I saw fire coming from the same area on the right upper corner. I got up on a step that I have and blew away the flames which were not big but if I were not in the kitchen, it may have caused a fire. I got the microwave from Lowes. Since it is almost to the year that I bought this microwave, they offered to replace it at no cost to me. Im getting the same model but Im purchasing the 2-year warranty just in case. I was told by the Lowes salesperson that this was unusual and should not happen again. We will see; its very dangerous. I had microwaves that lasted more than 10 years and had no problems. February 2011, I purchased a washer from Lowes and started having problems with the washer leaking and skipping cycles on the first week. Lowes exchanged the washer end of first week. The new washer started with not adding water in wash cycles. The repairmen sent by Maytag could not find any problem with the washer. The washer worked off and on for months with problems. Cycles with bleach added worked fine, but 3 or 4 loads later with no bleach having been added, it would produce bleach-stained clothes. The repairman came out again and could find the cause for skipping cycles, but suggested I run clean cycle every time I use bleach. It defeats the purpose of purchasing an HE water-efficient washer. The third repairman sat and watched the unit run a load and then he said I know what is wrong. He took the washer control panel apart and found the wire harness was not properly connected from tub to control panel. I have not found what causes bleach stains 3 loads after the bleach was put in the washer. I will not recommend this unit to anyone because of manufacturing problems with harness assembly.

Bought Maytag dishwasher 2007 at Lowes. Model mdbtt60aww-37837606ll manufactured in Benton harbor, Michigan. First got a recall that something was faulty, could cause fire, needed replacement. Took 2/3 weeks to get repaired. So couldnt use. Never quite cleaned good - many times had to rewash silverware, glasses. Never took off food unless very well rinsed. Today the control panel went. Called a local repair he said, Dont even fix. Toss and get a new one because its too costly to repair. I asked what should I get. He said no GE, they are getting out of appliances, no Samsung. Hes got whirlpool so guess Ill give that a try. In the past Ive had dishwashers 20 years, appliances 20 years. This junk lasts a year or two. Plastic cracks. None of these appliances are great anymore. Doesnt matter who you buy. Someone needs to get some quality control on what these companies are peddling .

Maytag gas range model #MGR8670XS 1 - I would not recommend this range. We bought it new and when I used the self clean oven, it did not work. It took four months to get this resolved. I self cleaned again, and I had to clean the oven by hand. It did not clean very well at all. I wish I had my old oven back.

In 2003, I purchased a brand new Maytag washer and dryer set, I chose Maytag because of their reputation. Within the first 6 months, I had a bearing go bad on it and that had to be fixed. It has become noisier and noisier throughout the years and now it is leaking all over the floor when I do a load. I am single, I live alone, I do laundry very seldom and do not do large loads. I am so disappointed with Maytag. When the repairman came out initially to fix it, he said that the brand he fixes most often is Maytag. Expensive lesson learned, Ill never buy any type of Maytag product again.

Bought this Maytag XL washer and dryer in September 2012. In January 2014, the washer stopped working. Service guy came out and said the electronics went out. Then in May 2014, the dryer died. The dryer door latch broke. Would not stay shut. 2 days later, the heating element went out. Again, the service man came out. This service man said that this model is subject to break downs. This Maytag is a piece of junk. I went out and bought a Whirlpool, which I had before. I would never buy a Maytag again. I paid over 2000.00 for this Maytag and it is the worst washer and dryer I have ever had. Apparently, the Maytag repairman needs to get his butt busy. I have the Maytag now on my sunporch, waiting for the junk man to come and get it.

My oven smelled for weeks after being installed. The first time I self cleaned, the oven stopped working and the door remained locked. It took weeks to get it repaired because we needed a part that had to be ordered. The second time we self cleaned, the oven smoked, set off smoke alarm that had to be disconnected, the control panel bulged, and the door locked. It was Sunday. I wrote a nasty email to Maytag. The service man who came Monday could not unlock the door, and said he had to order a part and would return the next Tuesday if the part arrived.Next, I had warranty issues. I had to get a copy of the purchase receipt from Home Depot to prove that the oven was still in warranty. Out of the blue, my phone rings on Thursday and it was Joe ** from Maytag in Michigan. He had read my email, said he was sorry for all the problems, and if I did not mind waiting 2 to 3 weeks, he would send me a brand new oven, would have it installed, and would have the old oven sent back for inspection. I did not mind (although there is only so many things that can be grilled or you can bake in a toaster oven). Three weeks later, I have my newly-installed new oven with its new, year-long warranty. Thank you Mr. ** and Maytag for the great service.

Purchased Maytag Bravos Washer in 2013. Used a little over a year and had to put it in storage for 2 years. Biggest piece of junk Ive ever had. Ive had cheap washers that lasted more than 20 years! Repairman said all diagnostics read normal. I put a very small load in to show him the water was not even wetting the clothes and only swishing them around a little. The shirt on top never got wet and was still in its same position when it went into the final spin. He said this is normal. He recommended I dump the machine and find an old NON Maytag model with the tall agitator!!! Ive tried using all the settings combinations; and the water level never gets all the clothes wet and clothes do not get clean. Will NEVER buy a Maytag product again.

I purchased this five-burner gas stove two years ago. I have this stove repaired three times. The first and second problem with the stove is when I turned on the oven, it would never click on. This was a month after I purchased the stove. They sent someone over to correct the problem and that did not work. The third time someone came. He changed something in the oven and it started to work. After that, I continue to have trouble with the oven. When I have the top eyes on, the oven will not work. When I only turn on the oven, it will go to 350 only. It will cook for an half hour and then cut off. I smell gas in my house and my food is smelling like gas. I have stop using the oven. I did not purchase a stove to not use the oven. This is totally ridiculous!!! I am tired of this situation. Maytag needs to recall these ovens, so I can purchase an oven that works. I have thrown food away because it smells like gas - because the oven will cut off in the middle of cooking. I am very tired of this situation and when you call Maytag, their customer service is terrible. I will never buy Maytags products again. Please help.

Big mistake. Worst purchase ever!! These high-efficiency washers (Maytag Washer Bravos XL) are the worst especially this one! I wash and wipe down the washer drum more than I was my clothes. I purchased it because it had a huge drum so I can wash my blankets and comforters. This washer leaves soap scum marks/residue on clothes and leaves it on the drum as well. I basically have to wash my clothes twice once with soap and then run again with just wash and rinse without soap, you tell me how efficient is that! Why not make a washer that put more water so the clothes can get washed properly. Dont worry about my water and electric bill. MAKE A WASHER THAT WORKS!I called customer service she asked me if I use the deep water, now you tell me why am I going to use the deep water, if that is the only way the washer is going to clean the clothes then do NOT give me 11 other options the washer to use. ONLY HAVE DEEP WASH OPTION. I dont care about the bells and whistles, I do not need a different tune when I turn it on and a different tune when its done washing my clothes. Make the washer the way it used to be WASHES CLOTHES WITH WATER AND LOTS OF IT. I will pay my bill not to worry. So I called customer service all they said was they will document my call! Well... like thats going to do me any good while I am stuck with your POS washer!

Bought this machine last spring with high hopes. When I noticed issues, I looked up other reviews and saw so many having the same experiences. It does NOT use enough water to clean or rinse the clothes. My clothes are getting stretched and worn. I have to run extra rinse cycles to get the detergent out of my clothes. For the cost of this machine, it should be working much more efficiently than it does. Not seeing any savings in electricity or water bill due to extra cycles needed. Waste of time and money. Would love to join a class action suit against them for the piece of junk!

Maytag washer manufacture changes are not worth a dime. I suspect EPA made the changes, and engineering was made by someone that has never washed a load of clothes in the entire life. There is no agitator and/or supposedly made to conserve water. Well, it saves water alright with each load. There will be a 2 foot circle in the middle of a bed sheet that doesnt get wet; the same with a sweaters. I have checked with different stores and all made the same. And heaven forbid if you dropped a sock and wanted to add it to the load with the mate. The lid locks. I am both angry and dissatisfied and will tell this same story to anyone wanting to purchase a washing machine.

Same problem as all the others, the dishwasher stopped working. The dishwasher is less than three years old; for a two-adult household. The control panel just stopped getting power. After multiple calls to Whirlpool/Maytag, all they will do for me is document my complaint. Im now out $167 to get this thing running with no guarantee that it wont happen again, as well as the fact that this should not have happened in the first place. I didnt misuse my dishwasher. It just stopped! I think there needs to be a class action lawsuit since the manufacturer will not stand behind this obvious defect.

What junk. Bought this gx2shbxvy05 french door fridge. In less than 16 months the freezer is fine the fridge section gets up to 80f. Throw all the food away. Found the freezer coil covered in ice. Took the back panel off and noticed ice around the copper tubes by the compressor going up into the body. Not good. Put a small brick heater in and slowly melted the ice into the drip tray. Warning, it filled up 4 cups of water and of course spilled and killed the wood floor. After the clean up. Plugged the unit in and it seemed to work for about 3 months. Now its dead again. Looked into parts around 300 to 400 bucks plus labor to replace the system needed parts. P.S. the fridge, this junk replaced is downstairs working after 25 years not one issue other than the color. NEVER BUY A MAYTAG product please. TRAIL APPLIANCE should never have sold this product and should have stepped up to help out. Wont buy from them again.

Eighteen months after purchasing the Maytag Bravos, I had to have the motherboard replaced. Maytag offered nothing except a list of names for repairmen in my area. Now another 18 months later, the washer gets out of balance (this is a self-balancing machine, supposedly) at least three or four times for every load. Since it is all electronic, you cant select a spin cycle without the machine adding more water into the tub. Again, this does not self-correct the out of balance problem. Trying to balance the cloths several times during a wash cycle extends the length of time it takes to wash one load on average two hours. Maytag offers no customer service or customer support. Im sure their call center is not located in any part of the United States. I will never purchase another Maytag appliance.

Have had this problem since week 2 of ownership. Even on the lowest setting, food in the fridge section is freezing and Im having to throw out fresh produce weekly. Called Whirlpool service since under warranty. The very nice service man replaced the thermostat. Only a little bit better as the temps do not range quite as extreme - only 25-46 now! I am now waiting once more for a service appointment, at least 10 days. Plus in Massachusetts they will only give you a 8-5 service window. They give a robocall the night before and you are given a 8-12 or a 1-4 time for your appointment. I also have had trouble with the meat drawer falling out of the track because the upper shelf bows with the weight of a normal amount of stuff. Now the bracket has cracked and the meat drawer no longer stays on the track when it pulled out partially (such as when you need to reach in and get something). Same thing happens with the lower drawer on the right side although the bracket hasnt cracked.

On 7/8/11, the non-freezer part of the refrigerator failed to cool to needed temperature. This fridge is model MI TXEMMWWOO, with serial no EY4705715, purchased on 7/13/10 at Home Depot. We contacted Maytag and were told to wait until Monday. On Monday, we were told that a serviceman would be out on Thursday, the 14th. On Wednesday, the 13th, the serviceman called to inform us that he would come the next day and that he would have to collect for the call. Since the fridge was still under warranty, we demurred. We went to Home Depot for advice. They called Maytag, and after an hour of getting the runaround, we were told that the serviceman would come on the 19th and that the call would be covered by the warranty. On the 18th, the serviceman called with the same message as before: he would have to collect the charges for the service call. Another trip to Home Depot led to the advice to activate the extended warranty at this point.Under the extended warranty, the serviceman came on the 21st, had to order a new part, and finally installed the new part on the 29th, three weeks after the misery began, and after spoiled foods, many bags of ice, and great inconvenience. We have other Maytag appliances, but this purchase has been a cruel lesson in Maytags lack of product quality, deceptive warranty practice, and indifference to consumer satisfaction.

Purchased the Neptune washer & dryer in 2002. Did not purchase any additional warranty. I have had Frigidaire, Kenmore and Speed Queen washers previously and used them until they quit. I have not had any problems with either the washer or dryer. No mold, no smell, nothing. I did laundry for 2 children and 2 adults, 6 to 8 loads per week with half being heavily soiled work clothes. I still wash 3-4 times a week. I was able to wash & dry king size blankets and comforters for the first time with this set. Washer and dryer are located on the main floor of house and are the quietest units I have ever owned. They may quit tomorrow, but they have done the job that they were designed to do. I am well satisfied with the quality and performance of both units and would not hesitate to purchase Maytag appliances again.

After having a Maytag washer/dryer set that lasted 20 years, I decided to go with Maytag again. Big mistake! Centennial Dryer has already broke down and the parts, before the overcharged shipping, was over $100. I wish I had done some research. Maytag is no longer Maytag, it was purchased by Whirlpool. Hence the lack of quality. Not only that, I dislike doing business with heartless companies that just close shop & let loyal employees go while paying upper management fat severance pay. Below is the message I submitted to Maytag on 5/6/2016 at 10:00 a.m. ET and just received an answer via phone call today 5/9/2016 at 3:30 p.m. ET that Maytag will be doing nothing. Also, my husband has still not received a call about the drum seal and when Maytag can come fix this part that broke in their machine only months after purchase. I will let you read my message to Maytag and you may decide if you would like to buy their dryer after reading what I sent and knowing they will be doing nothing. (Washer works just fine). If this message could be passed onto customer retention and/or management, I would greatly appreciate that action being taken. My husband, and I purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer Set from Lowes in (Listed Location) on (Listed Date) (Model Number: MGDC555DW2 and Serial Number: **). The dryers drum seal has already gone bad on one side. We had a Maytag servicer come to our home on Monday, May 2, 2016 to confirm this and said he needed to order parts and we would hear back from him on my husbands cell number in a few days, which we still have not received contact. Additionally, due to the drum seal going bad, a whole load of laundry has extreme tears in the material to the point of being ruined. I have pictures of the clothes/sheets and drum seal, however there is not a location on this contact form to upload them. I have three work shirts, worth around $30.00 each and new bed sheets just bought in the amount of $77.39 which have full threads pulled through them due to the dryer going bad in only four and a half months of normal usage. I am writing to request compensation for my items that are now unwearable/unusable and would be glad to provide pictures and receipts for price of items. We of course have not used the dryer since, which has been a huge inconvenience, especially with no update in knowing when the dryer will be fixed and reusable. Please contact me back in regards to my request. Thank you.

I purchased a Maytag Legacy Series Quiet Series 300 in early July 2010. It had a recall for a heater part that could potentially burn down my house, so we couldnt use it while we waited for that part to be replaced. They offered me a small sum of money towards the purchase of a much more expensive dishwasher which I declined since Id only had the dishwasher a few months at the most. It is now the end of August 2011, a month past their factory warranty. The dishwasher did not get my dishes clean, made awful grinding noises and three days ago, it refused to drain and then spewed 50 or more gallons of water all over my kitchen which then leaked into the basement. The repairman charged $85 to tell me that the computer in the control panel had burned out and was not fixable. I think I paid somewhere in the region of $500 for this machine. My last dishwasher lasted about ten years. This is completely unacceptable. In searching the internet, I found hundreds, if not thousands of identical complaints. Clearly, this machine is a lemon and Maytag should be forced to replace it or better yet, refund the money spent to purchase the machine. Plus, pay for my valuable time spent mopping up water, washing dishes by hand, searching the internet for probable cause and potential solutions, waiting for Maytag/Home Depot to respond to my inquiries and a large sum for general annoyance. Maytag had a reputation of reliability (emphasis on had). Theyve got some slick ads but they do not stand behind their products at all. I will never by another Maytag product and I urge you to do the same.

Bravo XL Washer & Dryer - I have owned this set for just over 90 days and have called Maytag several times just to get insulted. The customer service representative is not helpful at all, and tells me that I am not using HE detergent or that I am using too much HE detergent. Furthermore, they tell me that if a service technician comes to my home and nothing is wrong that I will get charged. So much for the extended warranty and what is wrote on the Maytag site. I explain each time that I am using name brand HE detergent and the recommended amount. The soap dispenser in the machine provides a fill line that I fill to. I have even tried using less detergent as recommended by the appliance store that I purchased the machine from, and still the washer does not clean my laundry and leaves residue on everything. I have even tried using the extra rinse, and extra heavy soil setting which does not make a difference at all.The other concern is that the clean washer feature light flashes weekly. I have purchased the cleaning tabs recommended to clean the machine, and run this clean cycle every time the light comes on. The dryer does not work all that well either and shuts off before the laundry is dry. Sometimes the dryer will show an error of airflow restriction or low airflow. This is confusing because the dryer vent and hose are clean, and the lint filter is also clean. This is so disappointing because I thought Maytag had great products. However, as I read other reviews about these machines and the customer service representatives it seems that there is a systemic problem with the machines and the customer service representatives that needs to be addressed by the leadership at Maytag.

Bought this Range in March of 2019. I really liked the large oven in it. Right away I noticed that the oven didnt back things very uniformed and very quickly, so a lot of burnt cookies. But I adjusted to that, not super happy about it but it was fine. Tuesday while cooking the cooktop suddenly went out. I had been smelling something strange the last couple of times I had cooked with the oven and cooktop on so I just assumed it was the oven, it did need to be cleaned. Well I ended up pulling the range out from the wall and taking the back metal piece off...the wire running to the cooktop was burned, like 3 inches up the wire and also the wire coming into that wire on the range cord. Just destroyed. I was shaking. My house could have burnt down.I just attempted to call Maytag, knowing my warranty is up (1 year) but thinking they should know about this issue. I was told that they would need to send out a certified tech would need to come out to access the situation...ok...when are they available and she said the 29th of December, really? How many people can go 3 weeks with no oven? I take care of my 93 year old neighbor and make dinner every night. So obviously I cannot wait. I have a tech coming today to fix this fire hazard. I was told there was nothing that can be done as it was not under warranty anyway. What so your certified tech was going to come out for free and then charge me what I probably paid for the range to fix it.

Maytag, you left me disillusioned and disappointed. I used to believe you, trust you. How am I going to feed my kids without a fridge? I bought our side-by-side French door refrigerator a few years ago and even bought the extended warranty (which no longer is in effect, unfortunately). Yesterday, the refrigerator failed, We called a small local repair person who could be at my home in a couple of hours. He listened and said my compressor was out, a leak was probably in there too, and that it would cost about 900 dollars or more to repair. When I called Maytag to see what they thought, they said that because I called a non-Maytag assigned repair person (even though this small-business repair guy didnt even take apart the refrigerator), I could no longer get their repair plus one year warranty offer which runs 400 dollars. But there is nothing I see on their warranty page that says this. Here I was trying to help our local economy by calling a small mom-and-pop repair person who is known in our town and has a good reputation, but I guess that by doing that minor well-intentioned act, it goes against Maytag corporate policy. Wow, how foolish do I feel now? I feel ashamed to admit this, but I actually started crying when I was on the phone with their customer help rep and asked, Isnt there something that can be done? I was thinking to myself that two months after Christmas with three kids is a tough time to replace a 1300-dollar refrigerator. I offered to pay the 400 dollars to get the refrigerator fixed by a sanctioned Maytag official with their warranty, but that I didnt know that I wasnt supposed to call anyone else besides Maytag if my appliances broke down. I would have never called our small local guy if I had known that Maytag corporate had such a policy. She said that no, there was nothing that she could do, and that is what happens to customers who call a non-Maytag assigned repair person. I guess when this happens to your fridge, you ask your neighbors if they can keep some milk, lunch meat and cheese for you, at least until you can save up for another fridge. Thank goodness that dried pasta and Ragu sauce dont have to be refrigerated. There are also cans of peas and corn and dry cereal, so it should be okay.I cant express how absolutely disappointed I am with myself and with my purchase, and how this has soured me on everything Maytag. I feel like an idiot. Can you believe that I had actually scrimped and saved up for months to buy this Maytag refrigerator and the extended warranty (hah, just to be safe)? I had bought it because I thought Maytag was a reputable company and because it was supposed to help the environment with its energy saving technology. But dont you think that a $1300 refrigerator should last more than 7 years (Believe it or not, this newer Maytag fridge was replacing a 20-year-old fridge that I gave to my cousins and which is still running to this day!)? And to add insult to injury, I already had a major repair done 4 years ago on this same French door Maytag fridge when it was only 3 years old. Maytag should offer to come out and fix their mess, but all I received when I called Robin, the supervisor, at their Tennessee call center was a, Sorry, there is nothing that I can do and there is no one else that you can speak to, and Nope, there is no one at corporate that you can call for help either and I have no advice to offer you. I can give you a mailing address though, if you like. I think I did hear pity in her voice, so that was some comfort. Pity from a call center supervisor, think about that! How awful it must be for her if that is all that she can offer to the desperate people who look to her for guidance! I actually felt sorry for her after I hung up the phone. It must be terrible to know that the company that you work for is probably mistreating its customers and all that you can offer is an Im sorry. I wonder how often someone says a rosary for her and her workers taking on those endless calls for help. How often does she cry herself to sleep after a day of that?I really dont like complaining online and I rarely do it, but this experience was just so awful and hopeless that I feel I had to say something to save other people pain and money. I hope that everyone learns from my miserable Maytag mistakes and please pass on my experiences to all of your friends and family. Those big tax refund checks will be coming soon, and I know that a lot of people upgrade their appliances with that money. Please, please think twice before you buy anything Maytag. I would feel better if I knew that people could learn from my stupidity. Remarkably, I was once gullible enough to trust and believe in American-made Maytag - goodness, was I wrong to do that. I am considering Facebooking my friends and family to let them know what happened and save them the heartache too. I hope that everyone who reads this can learn from my own mistakes and misguided trust in a company. In a world where so many companies throw away or roll over on their loyal customers, all I can say is something that I learned from a wise high school English teacher - Et tu, Maytag? .

Hi we bought Maytag washer & dryer from Lowes last year. Since then it burned every single fabric silk to cotton, tops, pants and sheets to comforters even on delicate setting, costed me thousands of dollars. We are totally wasted our time and money by buying this product. I would never recommend to anyone. It’s disappointing and pathetic to see how they even pass the quality testing before they release to the consumers. All my brand new clothes and comforters one wash and they are ???? burned. Not even one star worth my time. I cant wait to get it replaced ASAP. I have pics to provide. Totally dissatisfied with this dryer. Washing machine is two star only compared to other brands.

This product was purchased in March. In September, the agitator broke off. Thats a new one on me with a washer. Every other one Ive bought tended to last 10 years or so, then something like a motor wore out. It was an obvious design flaw on a topheavy agitator held on by a flimsy plastic sleeve. To make matters worse, their warranty service seems mostly geared to selling extended warranties, necessitated by the poor quality and bad design of their products. So, for a mere $182, I can have it covered for the next six or seven times the agitator breaks. No thanks, Ill figure out how to fix it myself when its no longer under warranty, or just cut my losses by buying another machine, and never another Maytag or Whirlpool product. I had a similar experience with a Whirlpool refrigerator purchased in April 2017, which had a defective module that went fortunately just before it was out of warranty.

Maytag water efficient, no central spindle top load. Clothes come out with scum on them. Really a problem on the solid darks. I have to scrub with terry cloth to remove. Maytag insists this is normal. Refused to honor warranty. Usually check Consumer Reports for quality and best buy. Energy/water efficiency is important. I like to have some control over the machine so that I can use it the best way for me. Such as soak. This machine cannot be manually controlled at all. Also it doesnt have a lint catcher, doesnt filter the wash or rinse water at all. All the lint and pet hair remains on the clothes or even gets worse. The clothes are not clean. I have no way to control the machine for my use. It may be water efficient but seems to use too little water to clean the clothes. Maytag wants to blame the EPA - This is irresponsible on their part. Its an awful washing machine and they made it. Maytag continued to insist that scum on the clothes was working normally. This scum was added by the machine. I used very little detergent; the clothes were relatively clean - just lightly wore a few days. They come out of the machine with streaks of white scum that I have to scrub off. The clean the machine cycle uses a huge amount of water. This is really DUMB: washing the machine instead of cleaning the clothes! Terrible! And Terrible customer service at Maytag. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local business (Decker and Sons in Grand Rapids, Michigan). The fridge is a French door style with the freezer on the bottom and a water dispenser/ice maker in the left door. In the 19 months weve owned the unit weve had to have service three times. One time for the freezer door not shutting correctly, and two times because the refrigerator portion quit cooling (freezer was fine). Both times it was due to something breaking that defrosts the area behind the vegetable drawers. Both times all of our food went bad. Second time it took almost two weeks to fix (Diamond was the repair service). Now, after the service, the left door doesnt shut correctly. The quality of the unit is so questionable that I hesitate to fill it back up with food. Its just plain old junk. Luckily, we purchased a five year warranty when we purchased it...but we thought the service would be performed by the shop where we bought it, but its farmed out to other repair providers.

I had noticed the lights, such as for sanitizing cycle, hot water cycle, etc, would go out intermittently, but since the washer still ran, I was down with that. Loaded it up last Sunday, pressed the button to start and El Zippo. Nothing works. So here we go again with another crap product from Maytag. Yes, I have had this dishwasher, which was a pricier model but closeout priced, at Lowes in 2008, BUT I live alone, so how many dishes do I wash. At the same time this is the third time had a repairman out (with no help from Maytag other than trying to sell me an extended warranty for nearly $400) and these machines ought to last a lot longer than this. The part online is bad enough, $150, cant wait for the repairman to call me back tomorrow and see how much they are going to hose me for.

Run away from this piece of junk machine AND company as fast as you can! I bought this set Oct 12 and by March 14 it was grinding/whining during the agitation cycle. I have been in contact through various forms with Maytag and they do not care! They first contacted me to review them and when I reviewed them very unfavorably they emailed me and this is what they said: Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time! All I did was say exactly what happened. After that I went to their website to see what kind of reviews they were getting and lo and behold their rating is 4.4 out of 5. Of course it is when you simply cherry pick the best and plant a few lesser rated ones. I simply do not have the funds to replace what I thought was a quality product, nor am I sure I want to repair it as it doesnt clean clothes. I hate having been placed in this predicament by a greedy, slimy corporation whose only interest in me is profits.

This washing machine worked great for just under 3 years. I noticed it wasnt draining completely. Per my appliance repair guy, the bearings were shot & it was going to cost over $300 to fix it. Called Maytag because my owners manual stated I had a 10 yr warranty. Wrong. The warranty only covers the wash basket & the drive motor. Look on Maytags Facebook page & you will see pages & pages of complaints on all of their appliances. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, if its got a Maytag name on it, its broken. Many of these appliances worked for only a year out two before they bit the dust. I went to Maytags fb page & ranted about their poor quality products & Maytags refusal to stand behind their products. Know what happened? They sent me an email stating that theyd reviewed my case yet again & there was nothing they would do. Then they blocked me on fb. Yep. Please please before you buy any Maytag/Whirlpool/KitchenAid product, please dont! Save your money & buy another brand. All Maytag will do is send you a form letter telling you they understand your frustration & you can email them your info, theyll investigate & get back with you. When (if) they respond theyll tell you theres nothing they can do. Basically you are sold, too bad, so sad. I now have a $600 piece of junk sitting in my garage. Im hoping I can get $20 out of it from the scrap yard.

Just last 3 years and it’s a piece of crap that has to be replaced. Going to argue with the company to tomorrow to get them to replace the broken transmission which may or may not be considered part of the drive motor - all **. This is a very expensive machine that didn’t last a month beyond 3 years! A refrigerator has to keep your food at constant temperature. The first Maytag refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot could not get cold. I mean the refrigerator never got below 65 degrees. I called Maytag and they played dumb. Just wait weeks for a repairman to check a brand new product that is not working. Home Depot replaced it in few days with another refrigerator of the same model. It runs but doesnt get really cold (it only has a fan in the freezer and the air comes down from the freezer to cool the refrigerator). I live with it because all you will get out of Maytag/Whirlpool is to turn the dial to a colder temp. A little over a year passes and the fan in the freezer just stops running. I called a local certified service person. He looks at the fan and says that its running but barely. I had to replace the motor at cost with labor of around 200 dollars. I kept the motor. Turns out the motor is made by Panasonic. The current replacement motor is made in Mexico. Now the refrigerator runs cold. Since I had two of these refrigerators that failed to get/stay cold, I think they got a bad batch of motors. Maytag response was to refuse to pay a dime, it is outside of the warranty - even though I had called about the refrigerator not getting real cold on the second refrigerator. So basically I lived with food being kept at a way too high of temp causing spoilage for a year and Maytag/Whirlpool could care less, they are only worried about their bottom line. That is not the only problem with their product. The drain pan grows a mold that looks like pudding. The only way to clean it is to pull the refrigerator out, take off the motor area cover (which is really cheap cardboard) and clean it out with a rag. There is no way to remove the pan. The compressor is mounted so low that it heats up the floor. I have concrete floors thus I have no fire risk but if you have wood floors, I would check the heat level. It is nearly impossible to clean the dust off the fins on the refrigerator coolant lines. The back of the freezer door shelves are metal and very sharp on the back. Thus if you stick your hand in to pick something up, you will get a nasty cut.I have owned only Maytag, Whirlpool and Amana products my entire life. I will never purchase their products again. They may pretend that you are buying an American product (they use the American flag) but this product is nothing but OEM garbage made by the lowest bidder. They try to sell you an extended warranty for around 300 bucks for an addition 3 years. I figured if the fridge went bad after 3 years, I would just buy a new one. I never expected a motor to fail less than a year (I would say it started going bad about 6 months into ownership as started making ice at a lower rate). Maytag refuses to stand behind their products. When I told them I had the motor that failed, they had no interest in even looking at it. Do not waste your money on their products. I also own a Maytag washer that is the worst washer I have ever owned.

Last year we replaced a Maytag dishwasher which had a faulty control panel after just a few years of light use (There are just the two of us). It was going to cost almost as much to repair it as to buy a new dishwasher, so we opted for an $800 model (MDB8959AWW6) with a control panel across the top of the door. There had been a recall on that first Maytag for the heating element or something, so we decided to put the credit towards a machine that would last us for years, we hoped! We have been in this house for 18 years and the original cheap builder-installed dishwasher lasted for 12 years. In fact, there was nothing wrong with it when we replaced it with the last one. Whatever happened to the lonely Maytag repair man? We did not buy an extended warranty, but I can see now that probably these things are only meant to last the lifetime of the warranty. We are semi-retired and cannot afford to have the dishwasher repaired, so it will be a decoration in the kitchen from on. Never ever will I recommend Maytag to anyone! One bad experience should have been enough, and we probably would not have bought a Maytag again had it not been for the credit we got for the product recall on the last one!

Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes. Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. Im not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

I bought this range (Gemini Double gas range) in 2010 but was not installed in my house until 2011 due to time delays in kitchen re-model. I paid $1310.00. It was serviced 3 times once under warranty. About a year ago the igniter went in one of the ovens for the second time and one of the stove burners wouldnt light. Since the other oven and 3 other burners worked we didnt call for repair, then a second burner stopped working and we called our Maytag dealer. 2 different service techs came one with more experience and both said the same thing the stove wasnt worth fixing due to cost of parts. One of the problems was the screws in the burners couldnt be removed due to rust and deterioration of the screws. They would break and cost other components also to be needed. So after 7 years of use and already having repairs done I have to buy a new stove. It will not be a Maytag. I also bought a top of the line Maytag dishwasher and one month past the 5 year warranty the electronic panel burned out. After calling Maytag and complaining they did agree to pay for the part close to $300 but I still paid for labor. When I looked at reviews for the oven before purchasing they werent too good but wanted a double oven at the time and always had good luck with Maytag in the past. I thought buying a higher priced model would be better quality. Not so. After calling Maytag today the best they could offer was to buy an extended warranty for $380, I declined. My advice - Listen to the reviews. The Maytag repairman isnt sitting around idly anymore!

The Maytag Centennial (Model MVWC6ESWW1) washer was purchased in September
The Maytag Centennial (Model MVWC6ESWW1) washer was purchased in September 2009 and within 18 months no longer provided water at the temperature selected on the control panel. The problem started after we used a spin setting to remove water from a cycle that did not complete itself. Somehow selecting a spin cycle disturbed the water temperature control mechanism. We were advised by Sears to unplug and then reattach the electrical connection (similar to rebooting a computer), but this was not successful in water being delivered to the washer at the temperature indicated on the control panel. While there was minor damage to clothing and a waste of hot water before we realized what was happening, the real inconvenience is not being able to rely on the water temperature setting. Based upon reading comments on the internet (including Consumer Reports) concerning this washer, the public should be warned not to purchase this machine. Better still the machine needs to be recalled in order to protect the consumer.

Went online and learned a DIY repair using a Permatex Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit to fill in the touchpad broken circuits. I have repaired it once a year for 2 years. My suggestion is to avoid purchasing this product. Apparently even after multiple consumers have contacted Maytag regarding this widespread defect, Maytag has not issued a recall or assisted anyone. They say if the part can be replaced there is no issue. When the dishwasher works, it is great, however it WILL NOT last. Touchpad will fail and you will be out $124 for the part plus labor unless you do the repair yourself.

I would like to say that I purchased the Neptune washer & dryer for my parents back in 1998. Up to now, 23 May 2015, not once has either of the machines required service and have been functioning well for the past 17 years. This is a testament to the quality and workmanship that is Maytag. This week I have purchased the Maytag Maxima front loading washer & dryer for my home because of Maytags reputation.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer in February 2012. I wish I had understood the workings of the washer before making the purchase. I am not at all happy that the lid locks as soon as the washer starts and unless I push a button to get the lid open. I cannot open the lid to maybe add more items or check to see if the water amount is sufficient or too much. I have no idea how much goes in for each water level. Of course, I cannot take water out but I could put more in if I see it is not enough. And after learning the water levels, I would know just how to determine the level I need. Some man must have designed the panel. Otherwise I am satisfied. I really like the large load capacity. I originally thought I wanted a front load to get a large capacity but this suits me fine.

Gave up a very good old washing machine to update to a newer one and so we got the Maytag bravos 300. I thought Maytag was a very dependable name and product. The warranty went out. 2 weeks later, the water pump went out. I had to pay to have it replaced. Then after that it started making noise that got louder and louder and now it sounds like a thrashing machine. And now it has started leaking water out of the bottom. So its going in the scrap pile. What a loss of money - the worst investment I have made. For what I paid for this machine, it should have lasted for many years to come. The washer I had before this Maytag I had for 16 years - no problems at and it still worked great when I gave it away. Maytag use to be a brand you could count on. Great craftsmanship has been taken away and monetary gain has taken over. I hope no one else has to go through this nightmare that I have. Maytag they should have to give peoples money back that we all worked hard for. Going with a LG now, hope its a good machine.
