I bought a Maytag Top Loader March 2021, this washer machine is the worst ever. It doesnt clean your clothes, & your clothes stink horribly. BBB and an Attorney needs to compensate for our all buyers.

I am also frustrated with Maytag for the same exact problem... The control panel and the dishwasher not working just after our year warranty went out. I purchased this product because we had a good experience with a Maytag Dishwasher lasting about 20 years, only to get fooled that the quality is not there any longer. This seems like BAD business on Maytag, Whirlpool, and Home Depot! How can we get an official complaint to someone who can fix this? Another example of big businesses that do not care to take care of customers! Why would a company like Home Depot continue to support this business!!

It took about a year for the problem, which turns out to be an extremely common problem, to start. The build up of water in the freezer due to the clogging drain. Maytag needs to step up for the consumers that purchased their defective product. I have cleared the ice and tried to clear the drain three times only to have the problem return. I refuse to pay someone $300 or more to repair this. This is crazy and unfair!

It’s washing day today, so I’m angry, frustrated and livid to do it in my Maytag machines. I’m 72 years old and been doing this for 53 years. It’s not a job you love to do but you do it. I finally get to be able to afford whatever machines I want, so what do I do, buy Maytag. They are beautiful, see through top load, and see through dryer. So finally I get to use them, what a letdown. I don’t understand how they can put these machines on the market. Unbelievable! Also very expensive. The sensor for the water level is way off. It starts washing with hardly no water covering the clothes so this is where I put it on pause and add buckets of water to wet at least the clothing. I did a test to see how the clothes moved inside when washing. It was a load of white towels and I put in a bright green face cloth to see how it moved around in there. Well what a surprise, it stayed on top and moved about 3 inches to the right. That’s all it did. You don’t call that washing, I call that soaking! Terrible washer! I could go on and on but I’m getting too upset. Now for the dryer, the sensors don’t work right so what I do is use the timer and the temperature buttons only. Sometimes clothes gets stuck under the lint basket and by the time the buzzer tells me the load is finished drying, it is so twisted that it’s wrinkled forever. It has ruined a beautiful tablecloth of mine. I can’t sell these machines because I would feel very bad to pass them to someone else…Maytag does but not me. Because of my age I won’t be getting new machines probably, I’m stuck with them, but I would advise anyone shopping for a new washer and dryer, go out there and see what they have, come back home and look for reviews which I did not. Bad mistake! Note: I searched everywhere to write this review to Maytag on their website, none to be found!

This set of Maytag washer/dryer are nearly nineteen years old now and are still workhorses! They keep getting the job done time and time again! Absolutely no complaints. Absolutely and completely amazing!

I always purchased Maytag products but no more. After 16 months of ownership of the MDB7749SAM1. For the last three weeks I have been washing my dishes by hand. This unit has so many defects that it should be recalled. Sick of buying parts!!!

The engineering of all these new machines are totally useless. Bring back the old tech. They DRY wash, NO WATER, they take forever to finish, wasting energy, clothing not cleaned. They are very noisy, doing nothing. Time to recall all of these units. They are totally useless.

I purchased my Maytag gas range (model number mGR7665WB) on Thanksgiving 2011! It worked fine until May 2012. Then the bake function just stopped working. If I select bake, the temperature fails to rise above 100F and a sickening gas smell fills the kitchen! PC Richards, where I purchased the product from, sent a repairman who took two weeks and two visits to fix the part! Everything was working fine until six months later during cooking for a full house on the day of my daughters birthday party. Same problem, bake function failed again along with gas smell! I was pregnant at the time and very worried about the gas smell! We had to leave the house a few days after that due to the hurricane and when I returned, everything worked great for a few weeks only to fail on Christmas Eve leaving me to cook the meat for our Christmas Day dinner in a neighbors house, highly embarrassing and inconvenient! Now Maytag and PC Richards are only able to repair at a high cost to me which I cant afford and feel I shouldnt be responsible for as this product has been consistently unreliable and possibly dangerous. I am especially concerned about the gas smell as I have a newborn and a 3-year old in our small apartment!

Fridge leaked all over our floor and ruined it! Very unhappy! When we open the freezer we find a sheet of ice on the bottom. We have to keep a towel on the floor so we dont slip and get hurt. I finally get a new kitchen and the fridge is ruining it! Yuck.

When I remolded my kitchen almost four years ago, I purchased four Maytag appliances. There was a recall on my dishwasher that was successfully fixed; the heating coil could have caused a fire. The next appliance to go was my refrigerator with a bottom freezer: the freezer section went. Thank goodness I purchased a policy which covered the repair that had to be done twice--twice I lost food. I was compensated by the insurance company for $200.00 for the cost of food lost. Just before Christmas my microwave stopped heating. The turntable works, the timer works, but it will not heat the food and makes a loud noise. The glass top on my stove is getting marred even though I clean it every time something spills. I keep my appliances in immaculate condition and they look like new. I thought when I purchased Maytag I was buying reliable appliances. Their ad that states that the Maytag repairman is lonesome because he has no work is a lot of bull. Each appliance has had problems. Where is consumer protection? Appliances should not breakdown after a couple of years. We should not have to buy insurance policies that are expensive to protect appliances that should last at least ten years without problems. Someone needs to step in and help the consumer. I didnt call Maytag regarding the microwave as I was told it was useless to call them and all I would get would be aggravation. Someone, please help the consumer!

I owned a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer for 13 years and never had a problem. The only one thing I would say about them is that since the washer had no agitator it would often tangle the clothes, but they were clean and not damaged so I was ok with that. We moved to another house in July 2016, and the moment we plugged in our dryer there was a spark and smoke under it. Our dryer was fried and it was because the previous owner put in the 220 outlet and wired it wrong. So our dryer was dead and cannot be fixed.Since the washer had the small problem with tangling clothes together, I convinced my husband to get a whole new set, not just a dryer. We went to Lowes and picked out a new Maytag Bravos XL, thinking that the brand was reliable and they were so big I didnt have to worry about doing bedding in it. Like ALL of the other reviews of this set, DO NOT BUY THEM! The washer does not use enough water to wet the entire load and you will be left with soap residue on your clothes and they will not smell fresh and clean at all. In fact, my son sometimes wets the bed or has dirty underwear and that is what my entire load of laundry will smell like when I wash them. Imagine taking a load of dressy work clothes out of your dryer and they smell like dirty underwear!I have tried other settings, different types of soap (liquid versus pod, etc) and doing smaller loads. None of this fixes the issue. It is obvious that Maytag and Lowes will do nothing about this issue, according to other reviewers, so Im not even going to bother to have them come out here to do a service call and charge me for it. So Im stuck with a $1,500 garbage laundry set! (Actually the dryer is fine, it just takes longer to dry than Im used to). Im all for a class action suit to get our money back and force them to stop producing such crappy products! Also, if you are considering this set, keep in mind that they have just over a 1-star average rating on this site, and that is because every reviewer is forced to add a rating of at least 1 star. If not, I think wed all pick the zero.

Bought the xl about 14 months ago. NO LIE! Exactly 2 days after the 1-year warranty was up, the xl went down. Drive shaft and bearings. Did Maytag honor the warranty since it was only 48 hours past the expiration? Not just a no but a why are you bothering attitude. My brother and I are above average machine builders. Well fix it ourselves because we could buy a new one to have it repaired. After many hours scouring the web we found the parts. Maytag didnt make a repair kit available to the public. 7 hours plus over $200 to tear it down and to clean the muck trapped at the drain. Then sand-smooth the burnt on metal where the bearings sit. All for a washing machine that sucks at washing clothes in the first place. Never ever again will I buy a Maytag.

After a year or so my Maytag fridge is leaking, I followed instructions on how to remove ice clogging the drain pipe and fixed the problem. I see that this problem is going to repeat over and over again for the life of this unit, because of a poor design.The design fix will be to add a small heater (at the location where the ice creates the clog) actuated periodically by the control board, or at least with a manual push button for the user can easily remove press the button to melt the ice clogging the pipe. This is a cheap design which did not go through design validation and qualification.

The top of the range has blistered and has worn off. It cannot be cleaned. I spoke to a Maytag representative and was told to try and use magic eraser to clean around the burners. This did not work. The model number is mgr7775xs. Is there any solution to this problem. My range looks terrible.

I hate this machine: Maytag bravo xl washer. Clothes come out extremely wrinkled, drum so deep can barely reach bottom on my tip toes & Im 57 & clothes dont come out clean. I cant wait to replace it!!! Why are clothes so wrinkled, I want to hang dry things & everything has to be ironed.

I bought a Maytag stainless steel refrigerator w/ freezer on the bottom. Since 6 months fridge being in my house I started to have problems, rust on the doors, water coming out of the bottom, freezer door got stuck w/ ice and couldnt be opened, butter, eggs, milk can be frozen one day and the next they have mold and bacteria because of the changes in the cooling system, among my problems. And what? Well yes thank you so much for the guarantee Maytag has in Puerto Rico, IT SUCKS! They been in my house more than 5 times and nobody really says whats wrong. They supposedly change the computer, still having problems, and this was done after more than three times visits from Maytag guarantee. Im still paying for the damn fridge and DO NOT HAVE A RELIABLE REFRIGERATOR. Im wasting too much food, Im obligated to buy food almost every day cause Im scare to give something that may be bad and my family will be food poisoned. Whos going to pay me or my family if something happens. Maytag is still running falsely commercial ads and somebody MUST STOP THEM. This appliances are not free or cheap. PLEASE help us because Ive learned that Im not the only one having problems in Puerto Rico w/ Maytag. Also I believe Maytag is using technicians not ruled by the government of Puerto Rico and thats why the service is horrible.

Purchased our Maytag Centennial Washer Model MVWC400XW4 2 years and 5 months ago; guess we are luckier than most; it has now failed in the spin cycle, high pitch, high volume whine, sounds like it is about to explode. Needless to say is out of warranty; and too expensive on our limited income to have a technician repair. I will hope to make the repairs myself; nothing to lose at this point; and from reading the countless negative reviews about this product; should be as many countless repair suggestions on YouTube. Obviously if Maytag would stand behind/up for their product as they claim they do; I and many others would not have these issues. My wife and I for sure will never buy another Maytag product until Maytag resolves the issue, which if my calculations are correct will be never. My advice is simple, do not buy Maytag products.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, stove and refrigerator and the dishwasher was a problem from the beginning. Repaired out twice and replaced the control panel. Seasonal residence, so the start of year 2 (this week) the control panel goes a third time. Its going to cost $387 to repair (told my elderly mother) and it turns out it was a warranty program that she purchased, not a repair estimate. She was misled as she called Maytag and they transferred her to a warranty company, and once again Maytag says theres nothing they will do. Now, Im hassled with cancelling that as well. I called Maytag and they dont stand behind their lemon of a product and said there is nothing they can do because its out of warranty (even though theyve been out twice to fix it). Do not buy a Maytag product. This is the first complaint Ive every written and I am just shocked that Maytag doesnt stand behind their product. Im informing 100s of people to not purchase Maytag and they will pass along my negative experience as well, for that, I am sure.

Shortly after purchasing my Maytag refrigerator had to pay for a new motor in the ice maker. The cover for the lower large food tray broke. Now approx. 4 years later am getting ice build-up on the bottom of the lower freezer unit, about one-half inch thick. It is enough so the freezer door wont seal when it closes and the inside builds up with frost. Not happy with Maytag or this refrigerator.

I bought this machine in 2013 and within a year it had stopped going through any cycle. It turns off and I either have to restart a cycle or set the machine to rinse/spin. My clothes do not seem clean so I have begun handwashing them before putting them in the machine. I retrieve clothes and find some clothes dry. My towels have worn spots and threads pulled out. I cannot wait till I get a new washer because I am going to put this Maytag Bravos in the backyard and take a baseball bat to this hunk of junk.

I have had it (Model MDB6000AWB) for a few years now. It had to have the door replaced per recall. This dishwasher does not wash dishes well at all; need to rewash many items after going through normal wash cycle. Also, all spokes are burning and falling off, along with pans getting burn marks. I am not sure how safe this is anymore. I am going to purchase another dishwasher, but not a Maytag!

On the first day, first time, the washer wrinkled clothes so bad I could not get them out. I talked to Home Depot people and they said I must lay clothes around tub like pictured in the book. I did that and they were still wrinkled. I called the repairman who said nothing was wrong with the washer. I talked to Home Depot; they did not have the answer. I called the repairman and he checked it out. He found nothing wrong. He did watch it washing and said he had never seen a washer tangle and twist clothes like this before, called Maytag. They said that I was loading clothes wrong, and nothing was wrong with the washer. They would not give me a number to call above them. This washer is bad. Maytag has known it for 4 years and done nothing about it. Ive been ripped off.

Convenience, small, clean while you doing other jobs, it cleans while you sleeping, it's not loud, not expensive, comes in different sizes and colors, it's another helping hand, you will love it, it's worth the money.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer several years ago after reading many reviews. I like the glass top of the washing machine and the front door glass on the dryer. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? Could it be the same branch of government that made everybody use those spiral light bulbs years ago? The fluorescence that give off loads of EMF?

No matter what we we do we still have soap residue left on clothes, even when we do the 2nd rinse cycle (what a waste of water). We use the correct amount of HE detergent and we use the detergent dispenser but it doesnt helps. The machine just doesnt use enough water. We have removed items that still have DRY SPOTS on them when the cycle is done. Areas that have never gotten wet after a 45 minute cycle. Never once had this happen with an agitator machine. We purchased a Maytag Gemini with serial number D40941338 and model number MGR6875AD826. It has been a complete disaster. The control panel keeps breaking down, and its now going to be replaced for the 6th time. I have asked for a new stove when I called the Maytag Extended Warranty Department, and they will not replace this defective product. Please help me.

Maytag, you left me disillusioned and disappointed. I used to believe you, trust you. How am I going to feed my kids without a fridge? I bought our side-by-side French door refrigerator a few years ago and even bought the extended warranty (which no longer is in effect, unfortunately). Yesterday, the refrigerator failed, We called a small local repair person who could be at my home in a couple of hours. He listened and said my compressor was out, a leak was probably in there too, and that it would cost about 900 dollars or more to repair. When I called Maytag to see what they thought, they said that because I called a non-Maytag assigned repair person (even though this small-business repair guy didnt even take apart the refrigerator), I could no longer get their repair plus one year warranty offer which runs 400 dollars. But there is nothing I see on their warranty page that says this. Here I was trying to help our local economy by calling a small mom-and-pop repair person who is known in our town and has a good reputation, but I guess that by doing that minor well-intentioned act, it goes against Maytag corporate policy. Wow, how foolish do I feel now? I feel ashamed to admit this, but I actually started crying when I was on the phone with their customer help rep and asked, Isnt there something that can be done? I was thinking to myself that two months after Christmas with three kids is a tough time to replace a 1300-dollar refrigerator. I offered to pay the 400 dollars to get the refrigerator fixed by a sanctioned Maytag official with their warranty, but that I didnt know that I wasnt supposed to call anyone else besides Maytag if my appliances broke down. I would have never called our small local guy if I had known that Maytag corporate had such a policy. She said that no, there was nothing that she could do, and that is what happens to customers who call a non-Maytag assigned repair person. I guess when this happens to your fridge, you ask your neighbors if they can keep some milk, lunch meat and cheese for you, at least until you can save up for another fridge. Thank goodness that dried pasta and Ragu sauce dont have to be refrigerated. There are also cans of peas and corn and dry cereal, so it should be okay.I cant express how absolutely disappointed I am with myself and with my purchase, and how this has soured me on everything Maytag. I feel like an idiot. Can you believe that I had actually scrimped and saved up for months to buy this Maytag refrigerator and the extended warranty (hah, just to be safe)? I had bought it because I thought Maytag was a reputable company and because it was supposed to help the environment with its energy saving technology. But dont you think that a $1300 refrigerator should last more than 7 years (Believe it or not, this newer Maytag fridge was replacing a 20-year-old fridge that I gave to my cousins and which is still running to this day!)? And to add insult to injury, I already had a major repair done 4 years ago on this same French door Maytag fridge when it was only 3 years old. Maytag should offer to come out and fix their mess, but all I received when I called Robin, the supervisor, at their Tennessee call center was a, Sorry, there is nothing that I can do and there is no one else that you can speak to, and Nope, there is no one at corporate that you can call for help either and I have no advice to offer you. I can give you a mailing address though, if you like. I think I did hear pity in her voice, so that was some comfort. Pity from a call center supervisor, think about that! How awful it must be for her if that is all that she can offer to the desperate people who look to her for guidance! I actually felt sorry for her after I hung up the phone. It must be terrible to know that the company that you work for is probably mistreating its customers and all that you can offer is an Im sorry. I wonder how often someone says a rosary for her and her workers taking on those endless calls for help. How often does she cry herself to sleep after a day of that?I really dont like complaining online and I rarely do it, but this experience was just so awful and hopeless that I feel I had to say something to save other people pain and money. I hope that everyone learns from my miserable Maytag mistakes and please pass on my experiences to all of your friends and family. Those big tax refund checks will be coming soon, and I know that a lot of people upgrade their appliances with that money. Please, please think twice before you buy anything Maytag. I would feel better if I knew that people could learn from my stupidity. Remarkably, I was once gullible enough to trust and believe in American-made Maytag - goodness, was I wrong to do that. I am considering Facebooking my friends and family to let them know what happened and save them the heartache too. I just saw that there had been a class action lawsuit settled in 2005 for the Maytag Neptune front load washer and I was never notified as an owner! I have this crummy product and have been living with it for more than 10 years! I just scheduled a repairman to replace the moldy gasket (for the second time) and the noisy pump, and a latch that has to be slammed for a sum of $438. What a crock. I was told this was a top of the line model when I purchased it for $999. Ive never had such a piece of junk before in my life. I run loads of bleach weekly to control the mildew.

Maytag HE Top Loader Washing Machine: I have regretted buying this piece of garbage since my first wash. This washing machine is complete waste of money and a piece of garbage. The Auto Sensing doesnt work and doesnt cover the clothes with enough water. When the deep water wash is chosen the clothes just float around but the agitator doesnt get them clean. Dont waste your money hoping it will work, because it wont. Maytag used to signify quality that is no longer the case. I am going to also give a bad review to the place I purchased this piece of garbage because all stores need to discontinue selling this junk.

I bought a Maytag Centennial Commercial washer, 3.8 cubic feet, Model # MVWC425BW on September 17, 2014. My clothes were never clean and barely wet. The machine took almost 2 hours to do a load of clothes and they werent even clean! I bought the 3-year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Three years and 8 days later the machine stopped working. Serviceman came out and told me the washer was fatally wounded. He said the transmission failed. He also told me the replacement part would be $400.00 and that it wasnt worth it. He said these machines are junk and Maytag has had all kinds of issues with them. So Maytag knows these machines fail and yet do nothing for their consumers. Maytag, you will only ride on your name for so long; consumers are catching on. Maybe back in my Moms day you were the go-to brand but Im afraid that ship has sailed. Ive always gone with Maytag but now I question that choice. I came on Consumer Affairs page to see what brand I could buy other than Maytag. Seems Kenmore gets high marks.

Purchased Maytag Washing Machine from Lowes in Alexandria Louisiana on January 12, 2021. Today is April 16, 2021 and it will no longer wash clothes and has horrible burnt smell coming from it when on wash cycle!!! Tried contacting Maytag Service but was kept on hold for almost 1 hour. I setup a service tech using the Maytag Service online and supposedly a technician will be here on Monday April 19, 2021....of which I seriously doubt will even show up based on some other reviews.Maytag as well as Lowes are SCAMMING people out of hard earned money by selling such garbage!! If LOWES or Maytag really cared about its customers it would see these Negative Reviews and do something about it. Lowes continues to sell this garbage which is why I am blaming them as well! DO NOT DEAL WITH LOWES OR MAYTAG PRODUCTS - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

MDB77495852 - I purchased a brand new Maytag dishwasher 2 years ago from Sears. A year later it broke down with what was apparent moisture in the control panel. Thankfully it was covered under warranty. Well guess what... it broke down again a year later and now just missed a year. But not it matters, the retailer (Sears) said it was not covered so Im supposed to pay about $300.00 to get it repaired. And figure I will have to do so next year also. I was told there is a Lemon Law for appliances but it does not kick in for 4 years. So after $900 in repairs I could get a replacement... REALLY? I think a recall is in order!

We have a Maytag washer. It is the noisiest washer I have ever seen! It is in the garage as you could not have this washer in a house. The deep water wash is not deep enough. It bangs and knocks VERY loud! There have been times when all of the clothes are not even wet.

Turned the oven on, and it failed to light. A little while later, it started leaking gas into the house. Im lucky the house didnt explode!

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.

Most American dishwashers are made by Whirlpool. My control panel failed after only 3 years (design is terrible!). I had to pay almost 50% of original dishwasher cost to have it replaced by Factory Service Co. (formerly Whirlpool service).

Dishwasher model: MDBH949AWW3. Gradually over a months time lost its control functions and its status display. Ten days ago the last button to fail was the start button and the dishwasher stopped working. Maytag confirmed over the phone that there was no recall on this model. The part costs $190 and is out of stock till end of October 2013. I opened the dishwasher and took a closer look at the keypad. It has the cheapest touch buttons I ever seen. Maytag had provided at purchase time a user guide and a large sheet with a sketchy incomplete drawing (W10142800C) for service use only. I made my own schematics and I built my own keypad for less than $50. You may notice that the info I have on my attached schematics is missing from Maytag/Whirlpool incomplete drawing. My keypad is working fine and will outlast all the remaining parts in that dishwasher. I wish there is an angry lawyer out there with a bad dishwasher like mine that will use this info to sue Maytag. Please give the schematics to any user having troubles with this lousy touch pad.

Absolutely the worst washer I have ever had. I have read some of the other reviews, wish I was smarter and checked this out before spending my hard earned money to buy this washer. My washer also is rusting at the top where the bleach goes. I never close the lid when not in use my basement is dry AND I never use bleach??? My clothes come out they are a tangled up mess. When I go to hang them they are partly dry. It isnt as though I stuff the washer NEVER put more than 8 shirts in at a time yet they all come out with dry streaks like that part of the clothing never even got wet. We all know what happens when you leave a tissue in your pocket and it goes through the washer... Well not with this washer the tissue sometimes came out as dry as it went in. HORRIBLE product. I want the old agitator/I SET THE WATER LEVEL type back. It takes forever to get laundry done. They should take these OFF the market and give us poor consumers some cash back.

Dont buy this machine. Although it is an HE machine and supposed to save on water, it does not give enough water to at least cover the clothes. I had repair come in and they changed the computer but no improvement. The cycles determine the water amounts not the type of clothes you are washing. So if I only a few things I use cold water wash, if I have a half load I use deep water wash and have to add water to it. Its ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and get an LG. I wish I had.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer in 2009. I have had nothing but problems. Since, it seems that this washer was never tested nor perfected but just put on the market to sell to us, the consumers, the company does not care that this washer breaks down constantly. First the pump had to be replaced, then the tub was replaced. These were nothing compared to coins falling through to get caught in the pump and cause the washer not to drain. When I bought my washer, I also purchased an extended warranty not knowing that if the washer were to breakdown to many times, Maytag would refuse to repair under the service plan that I purchased because now they are telling me that by letting the coins fall through is abuse of the washer. Really so what they are saying is accidents will not be covered, I thought thats why we purchase insurance.Thank You, Maytag. I will never buy your product again.

Purchased my Maytag Bravo MVWX500XWO 4 years ago. While still under warranty I had to call for service once. I felt based on the Maytag reputation I didnt need to extend the warranty. WRONG!! My Maytag first started with the loud and fast spinning. Like it was about to explode! Then my washer started leaking. I thought I was having plumbing problems, so I called a plumber... wasnt the plumbing. My washer wasnt draining out completely so I finally called an appliance repairmen who immediately knew what the problem was ($109.90) for a 15 minute review. The leak was from the bottom of the washer... the seal around the transmission cracked, broke or whatever causing water to drain out in my garage. Also the main control board wasnt working. Repairman said it would cost me $700 to repair!! Really?!! My machine was practically new! Without hesitation the repairman said for me to call the Whirlpool/Maytag 800 number and they would offer me another washer for 50% off at their online outlet. Repairman said this always happens... Why would I want another Maytag or Whirlpool!! Please do not buy the Maytag Bravo... Can you imagine if this happened with a car purchased... 4 years and then having to buy another car??!! Not reliable or worth your money!!

Horrible washing machine. Cannot get clothes clean. It simply does not supply enough water to wash. Have tried everything. I want my money back. How do you start a class action lawsuit. Thousands of people are dissatisfied also.

Purchased our dishwasher 11 months ago from Lowes. Dishwasher has a 10 year warranty on racks and 2 other items. We are 2 adults in the household. Dishwasher is maybe used 4 times a week. Very light use! Circulation pump is bad which also took out the dishwasher solenoid. Im not going to fix because it if only lasts a year again that is a very expensive repair. Very disappointed in this made in the USA product. That was the reason I purchased it. Made in the USA. Come on Maytag. You can do better than this!

My microwave will not work when the door is shut. It says: Door open. It’s worked intermittently, doing this for about two weeks. Then my husband woke up one morning a week ago and the microwave was on like it was running, light on but the plate was not turning. So we’ve had to unplug it and do without during thanksgiving weekend. This seems to be a common issue, obviously from the reviews below, so shame on you Maytag for not owning up and doing the right thing, covering repairs or sending out a recall. It’s a $112 service call here locally plus parts and labor. I will certainly be telling others not to go with Maytag. Maytag is lucky- it turning on by itself AT NIGHT, WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING, that it did not cause a fire or something. I’m pretty upset that it’s inside a 2.5 year window and already has issues.

I purchased a Maytag electric dryer Bravo 300 Series in November 2009. December 2011, the main computer board went out and had to be replaced. Do not purchase Maytag appliances. They do not stand by their defective products. First and last Maytag purchase.

I sent an email to Maytag regarding my Maytag Bravos washer which I purchased two years ago at a cost of $1,100. I have started having problems with the machine last week. I kept getting the UL error code. I called a certified appliance person to come out to find out what was wrong. I do not believe any of the appliance people know what to do for these machines.First, I was told it was the control board that needed to be replaced, then I was told the motor had a crack in it and it needed to be replaced, and then the springs needed to be replaced. So they replaced the springs. This was a Tuesday afternoon. It worked fine until Wednesday of the next week and I started getting the F51 code. Just let me say if you cannot stand behind your parts on a $1,100 washer that is only two years old, then something is very wrong. I am in for $159 on repairs so far. Who knows what the cost will be to finally get the machine repaired.

I have a 50/50 chance of completing a wash cycle. Most times, the washer stops working at 8 minutes remaining in ANY cycle. The washer will leave me with wet clothing and refuses to spin even when most wet, dripping articles are removed. I have tried to put all light-weight items together and that still is not a guarantee that I can get this done in one cycle. Most often, the error code comes up, I spin the drum around, move the clothing around and try again. This process is NOT energy efficient which is why I bought the ** thing in the first place. I am ready to put it on the curb for the trash man to pick up.We had a service person out and he said it is either the bearings or the motor (both a $400 job). I will NEVER buy another front-loading washing machine. At least with the old-fashioned top loaders you can get the load balanced and at least get clothing to go through the spin cycle. I am now hand-wringing clothing once again since the machine tells me when it will spin my clothing. That stupid chime is about to send me out of my mind!

After one year of service from our Maytag Jetclean Plus Dishwasher with Toughscrub the circuit board went out. I have been seeing and hearing other people complaining about this problem. We purchased this device based in large part on Maytags reputation for reliability. I am not happy with this machine. I will complain to the company and write another review based on the results. I suggest Maytag goes back to the old knobs until they can assemble and protect the circuit board, which I believe was damaged by heat and moisture.

Im have finally given up and purchased a replacement for my Maytag Bravos XL Top Loading High Efficiency Washer! The Maytag was 2 years old and I have ALWAYS had trouble with it. My towels became sour after 1 or 2 uses (sometimes they smell sour even before use!). My dark clothes ALWAYS came out of the wash LOADED with lint. I researched online to determine whether these were common problems and found several sites with suggestions such as: dont use more than 1-2 spoons full of high efficiency detergent (which recommendation I followed), Use white vinegar or liquid fabric softener. (I tried both with only minimal results.) ALSO use a dryer sheet in the dryer (I did this but it seemed like a waste since I was already using fabric softener in the washer). Dont overload the washer. (I didnt, but if I couldnt fill it, then why did I buy a washer with such a large tub ?!) Clean the washer monthly. (I faithfully did so, and tried alternating Affresh and bleach to see if theres any difference in the result... not really. Make sure you are fully drying the towels (I ALWAYS DID!).We had a Sears repair technician come to the house the last time my frustration level was overflowing and she only made me feel like an idiot, repeating some of the above recommendations and insisting they would solve the problem -- which, if they had worked, would have precluded my need to call a repair technician!!! The repair technician provided no other service or ideas to fix the problems. My husband decided we should go back to the tried and true agitator-type washer... bye-bye, Maytag Bravos.

I will never buy another energy efficient washer again. My Bravos is supposed to save money and be environment friendly, but when you have to wash clothes more than once to get them clean, theres no savings. Ive tried different detergents, cleaned the washer, rinsed twice, added vinegar, baking soda and everything imaginable to get the clothes smelling fresh without any luck. I have had several items ruined because the bleach dispenser pours onto dry laundry. Im disgusted.

I purchased the Legacy series washer and dryer from Home Depot in 2005. For the first 3 years, the washer worked fine. Since then, it has all been downhill. When I use bleach, I have to run an empty load because for whatever reason, the bleach goes through to the next load which has resulted in a number of ruined clothes. The wash cycle leaves clothes dirty and some even come out partially dry?! The rinse cycle does not always work as more times than not, the fabric softener is still in the dispenser cup. The spin cycle is getting worse with each load. Sometimes I reset the spin cycle as many as three times at which point I hand wring the clothes. This creates a strain on the dryer as I have to run it extra long to dry the clothes. I am more disappointed than I can say. I will never purchase anything Maytag again and I will not purchase from the company who makes Maytag products.

During 2018 we purchased Maytag Bravos top loader to replace antique KitchenAid. Very dissatisfied at first, but luckily found the settings that makes my machine work very well on every cycle. First add 1/2 gallon of water to empty tub. Add detergent. Set controls at: Soil Level-Heavy; Wash temp - Warm; Main dial - Bulky Sheets; Extra Rinse - ON; Fabric Softner - OFF. Can now load full tub of clothes and more detergent if desired. Press start button and water covers it entirely. It works so well now, that I went from I hate it to I love it. Been going for two perfect months with no issues. Weird but true. Hope this helps you.

We bought a new Maytag Bravo series thinking we were buying the best product... not! The washer has been running great. But when it came time to clean the washer on the Affresh cycle, the washer overflowed. It turns out the washer fills up higher on the Affresh cycle than it does on the regular wash cycles. Well, that’s why it overflowed; the plastic tub that hold the water had a freaking crack in it near the top! This washer isnt even 3 months old. I had to get a repairman in here once to check it out, then again to come back and fix it. At least it was under warranty. Im afraid what else will happen. Piece of crap Maytag, great quality checks! Maybe hire some real people that can see what the hell they are doing in quality. I told them about the damages to my basement. They sent me paperwork to fill out. Forget it, the paperwork gives you the runaround!

The Maytag Washer Model # MVWB835DW is the worst I have EVER had!! I have 6 kids, my husband and myself who I do laundry for and this was supposed to be a XL washer so I can do large loads! It does not do anything to stains and all my clothes come out with clumps of powder and if I use liquid it leaves greasy residue on them! Everyone in our home has had rashes from the washing powder not getting rinsed out and my husband who gets grease and oil on his clothes has all stained clothing because of this washer that does NOT clean anything! I used to be able to get every single grease and oil stain out until I purchased this washer! My 9 yr old now has a scalded skin from the washing powder not getting rinsed no matter how much I use!! I even tried using vinegar to make it dissolve and it does not help! No matter what we do it does not fill up nor wash the clothing properly!! This washer needs to be discontinued immediately and anyone who has it have the option of exchanging it with a better washer! It is absolutely ridiculous that they know this washer does this yet keep selling it!

I purchased high end Maytag washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave in May 2010. On Saturday 4/25/14, the Maytag Microwave stopped heating. The fan runs, the panel, display, lights, clock, and tray all work. It just doesnt cook. The Microwave was installed in June of 2010. Not even 4 years old. I have tried to troubleshoot via the instructions that came with the microwave, i.e. Check the demo mode is not on. Dont know why after 3 yrs it would be, but checked it. No help. Pulled the plug out and replaced; turned breaker on and off; checked to see if its was locked. Nothing. I then checked the door and I found that the plastic inside panel on the latching side of the door is pulling away from the door itself, which is part of the locking system. The magnetron shouldnt work if the door system isnt closing properly. The latch system is what is causing the door to pull apart. I am wondering now how much microwave exposure my family has been getting from a malfunctioning door? I have had a Microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator made by Maytag in the past. The refrigerator is 14 yrs old and still works fine. The microwave and dishwasher were at least 10 yrs old when I replaced them with the new Maytags I have now. Here is the problem. Maytag is not Maytag Corp. anymore. Whirlpool Corp now owns the Maytag brand. Prior to the old Maytags I had, I had GE fridge which was junk, and Whirlpool, dishwasher, stove and microwave. They were also junk. I swore I would never buy Whirlpool products again. Surprise.

Maytag MDBH979SAM1 w/ Steam - I purchased this dishwasher Jan 2014 as a scratch or dent at the Sears Outlet. The dishwasher worked great until 4-5-2015. About 3 months after the warranty ran out I called Sears and asked if there was any extended warranty coverage since I used the Sears card. They said No, but recommended I call MasterCard since my card had the MC emblem. MC says that they do extend the warranty up to 12 months. I just filed a claim and hopefully will get a paid for repair. So, if you used a credit card, you may have a warranty extension like me. Check it out. 2 stars because the dishwater is a great unit except for the control board. What a shame Maytag.

I purchased a Bravos washing machine 3 years, 9 months ago. It has stopped working, bad bearings. How can a major appliance fail after three years for bad bearings unless the bearing were bad to begin with??? The repair man knew by the sound the problem was bad bearings. The washing machine sounded the same as it always had, which means the bearing were bad from the start. My first washing machine, a Kenmore, lasted 21 years and a few months. How can you produce such a terrible product and expect I as a consumer would buy another Maytag product or recommend a Maytag product? Not to mention what will now enter a landfill someplace, terrible!

I recently purchased a Maytag centennial washer and dryer from my local Home Depot. I set up a delivery date of 2/9/12. I was contacted on 2/6/12 by a Maytag staff telling me that my washer and dryer were on back-order until 2/29/12. This is unacceptable to me. Why does your company not tell its retailers that some items may be back ordered? I would have accepted this if told when I scheduled my original delivery, but being told days later and after taking the day off from work, is poor customer service to me. I am giving very serious consideration to voiding this order and finding a new company to deal with. I do not have the confidence that future issues will be shared or dealt with in a timely manner.

Some difficulty in cleaning the range around the burners when spatters occur, no matter what you use it is very tight to get around the actual burner to remove that residue. I have tried many approaches and several types of cleaners to get the residue marks off the brushed stainless surface.

Have had this side by side for a long time and it is great. Have not had any problems with it. Also have had an Amana which we love as well. These are side by side and are frost free and never have to clean.

My old washing machine was about 25 years old but still doing a fantastic job getting the laundry done. When the dryer died we decided to replace both machines so theyd match. I had been setting money aside for years in preparation for this purchase. Ive only had them for two weeks and I stay awake at night wondering what GENIUS decided you can get clothes cleaner in a tablespoon of water than you can in an adequate amount of water?! My old washer could wash a load of laundry in about 20 minutes. Again, what GENIUS decided taking over an hour to wash a load of laundry in a tablespoon of water was a better way?! What working woman would choose to double the time needed to do laundry and then not feel confident that the clothes are clean?!!! I am so mad and frustrated and disappointed and I dont know what to do. I wish I could yell at somebody!!!

Just like all the other reviews, 14 months after purchase and 2 months out of warranty the control panel on our Maytag Dishwasher stopped functioning. The “10 year warranty” is a joke a covers 3 things. We had model MDB4949SHX, $550 new.

I bought my Maytag Model LA608 washer in 1976. It has very few electronics and a mechanical timer. It has been used every week since then for 2 or 3 people. It has had 3 problems in its lifetime. I replaced the 2 valves that control the hot and cold water entering the machine. I replaced a small plastic sprayer part. And last year I replaced 3 clamps that rusted and started to leak. Thats it in 40 years. I was able to open up the front and back covers to get at the parts quite easily.It is a simple machine with almost no electronics to stop working. Nothing bothers me about the machine. Its simple and wonderful. When it finally breaks, I will try and find a good sized machine that washes permanent press and regular clothes, has a controller to select hot/cold/warm water temperatures, has a regular and gentle cycle, and has 3 load levels for the water to be used. I will try to find one that is good quality with few electronic parts. I will not buy a high efficiency model that uses less water as I am on a well and water shortage is not a problem where I live. I will not buy a front loading model.I would not buy a machine that has options that I do not need. I would hope to find a quality machine similar to what I have now. I would read as many ratings about the various models before making a selection and then I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. If it is possible, try and find a good quality machine that will be dependable over time. Buy a basic machine with only the options that you really need. There will be fewer parts to stop working.

I have a Maytag Neptune washing machine which had a mold problem on the rubber grommet. I have been trying to call Maytag to no avail. I researched and saw there was a class action suit for this very problem and I was never informed. The washer may pose a health hazard and I would like Maytag to do something about it.

Top rack fell off with load of dishes. Clips that hold rack to slides broke. Week for repairman, two days for parts, week for repairman. No repairman, call parts be in on 7/28 2014, repairman on 7/31/2014. ONLY HAD DISHER FOR A WEEK, NOW IT IS BROKE. WHAT A RIPOFF.

I purchase all new appliances in 2010 when I built my new home. The dishwasher, stove, and over the stove microwave are Maytag. Thank goodness my refrigerator is a Kenmore. My microwave is coming up with the SE or 5E code and wont work. It would cost more to have a repairman come out and fix than to buy a new one. And from the reviews I have read it would just happen again. I cant believe with all the complaints about Maytag that any stores are still selling them. This company should be sued for selling such pieces of junk and taking our hard earned money for them. Never ever buy a Maytag anything!!!

Purchased Bravos 300 quiet series wash and dryer 3 1/2 yrs ago new. 18 months ago the washer gives me f51 and ul codes. To repair this USA made washer will cost over 250 dollars. I purchased an expensive Maytag washer & dryer, top loading, energy efficient, only to find it now shreds all of my towels, robes, dress, undies etc. Maytag reply was to put things like undies, t-shirts, & dresses in bags to wash... What about towels? I had an expensive white Terry cloth robe from Neiman Marcus which is now shredded, Im showing it to everyone. Plus the dryer has an area above the front door that snags everything. I open the door & clothing is hanging there, caught on this area. Tell everyone not to buy Maytag, theyre rip-off. Ive lost more money on ruined clothes & linens than the trash washer & dryer are worth, but Im disabled, handicapped, 61 yr old who cant afford to buy another new washer!

The machine will not fill with enough water to wet all the clothes. I have to tape the tub to trick the machine so that the clothes will all get wet. When I had a service look at the machine he said that is how they are designed to be energy efficient. Who does not getting all the clothes wet clean them??? This is not for big loads but ALL loads - even hand wash loads. Every load takes an hour plus. Less water, more time, unclean clothes. I lose all the way around. REALLY wish I had a machine with the old features.

I purchased my new refrigerator in 2005. Within 3 months, the bottom freezer went out. I had purchased warranty and it was fixed. Again, the fan went out 1 year later with the same exact problem. Now, it went out again 2 years later with the same exact problem. I called Maytag and they do not care. They are rude and simply will not fix this refrigerator. The warranty is gone and again, I have to pay for this constant problem. Why doesnt Maytag own up and service this problem. Didnt we pay for this? It wasnt given to us free. Someone needs to step up and gets it resolved for consumers. If legal action needs to bring this to their ignorance, so be it. We all have spent a great deal of money on a refrigerator and all they do is say, is “Too bad. How can any company continue to be in business and operate this way?

Purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer in November 2015 after having a old set not Maytag for 25 years with no repairs. WOW. Then the new washer went out in Feb. 2016, now the dryer in May 2016. We have had Maytag washers in the past, and they always worked well and were reliable. Not so with the Bravos washing machine. It is by far the worst excuse for a washing machine weve ever used. It does NOT clean clothes. It merely ingrains the dirt more into fabric. In four years, we have complained repeatedly to Maytag to try and get some kind of remedy to no avail. Maytag is simply not interested in standing behind their product. Bought a Maytag washer from Lowes 3 years ago and it is just junk. I am 62 years old and never had a washer that actually broke down. What happened to good American technologies. I guess those days are gone, anyway dont buy a Maytag, duh. It is the day after x-mas and I have to buy another machine.

I bought the Bravos glass top washer. It was always loud. I have a friend who had a cheaper model and his was loud too. My washer barely lasted two years before tearing up. It cost $85 to tell me it would be over $500 to fix it. I paid over $600 so it wasn’t worth fixing. Lid lock went out and gear went bad.

We bought a new dishwasher 2 years ago. Top of the line Maytag Model #MDB8959SBW3 $749 plus tax. We bought this one because they told us what a great 10 year warranty it had. Found out that is a lie. The only thing the 10 year warranty covers is the stainless steel tub, the racks and chopper blade. The stop button on the control panel (circuit board) quit working and the dishwasher wouldnt start. When I called Maytag they said So sorry. It broke so soon, but that is not covered.We were told by a repair shop that Maytag has had nothing but problems with their control panel and the control panel part alone is $150 plus tax plus installation. Our old Maytag lasted 13 years and was still running great, but needed to be replaced because the racks were rusting out. I wish I would have kept the old one. I will never buy Maytag again since it is now made by Whirlpool. If Maytag is having so many problems with their control panel, they should be recalling them.

I bought a top of the line Maytag commercial washer. We had a number of service calls replacing parts, gear box etc. Then, they finally replaced the machine and all the same issues happened again. They will not take back their machine or refund me my almost $1K paid. The washer squeals when it starts washing and clunks all while agitating - I can hear it upstairs. After yet another service call (#11 now and no salary replacement for me) the result is that Maytag says when the temp in the house is 67 or lower, the parts in their machine expand and contract and will make noise. No fix, no refund oh, and no one you can contact by email in Canada to help. Moral of the story, dont buy Maytag.

This washing machine just sprinkles water on your clothes then ties them up in knots. And to add insult to injury, needs repairing every year or so. Horrible! It does have a couple of redeeming qualities, but they definitely dont outweigh the cons. It spins the clothes quite dry and has a large capacity. I have dogs and kids who play football and a husband who does construction, and its not unusual to find lumps of dirt and fur trapped in an article of clothing or blanket. All my bras and sweaters get ruined, it twists them up horribly. The blankets and sheets end up in a mushroom shape. Sad to say, NOT good. I like Maytag, but not BRAVOS.

Ive had this Maytag for more than 15 years and it still works well. Its a basic fridge, no special features. Just keeps food cold or frozen. Freezer at top, fruit & veggie bins at bottom, cheese bin. No problems, good performance.

I purchased this washer three years ago. It worked fine, but all of a sudden the washer stopped spinning and was not following any of the cycles. Of course it was out of warranty. The repairman states the computer board on the washer is fried and will cost $400 to replace. Several stores have stopped selling Maytag because of quality issues. No more Maytag for me.

Wish it was a French door style instead of freezer on top. Not good if you are tall. Other than that we are pleased with it but will look to trade for a French door style.

I bought a new refrigerator and when I plugged it in would not cool. I called and the authorized tech came and said the compressor was bad and the evaporator was rusted and hoses were greased up. I have now been informed that the warranty was void because it was put in a dental office and not a single home. I said since it was never used I would put it in a house. They said it was void and I was out of luck. I always thought maytag sold good products but this has convinced me to never buy a product from them again. It never worked and the tech said it should be replaced but they said he should never had told us this.

Need to keep cleaning washer otherwise it leaves white marks on clothes. I used vinegar but that didnt help. Used the wash cycle and that didnt help. I found a washer cleaner and it works great. Overall performance of washer is fine but I would be hesitant on purchasing another Maytag Bravo washer only for this reason.

The low water usage design is horrible. Clothes dont get clean as it doesnt use enough water to cover them. Takes twice as long to do a load as our old washer. Took about 1 1/4 hours yesterday for 1 load using heavy which is the only setting that uses more than a thimble of water. Should have looked for a commercial type with a real agitator and adequate water usage. Not saying Maytag is probably any worse than any other brand of new efficiency government mandated garbage washer, but its no good.

I have had commercial front loading washers since they came out (first was a Whirlpool Duet); although I like the capacity they have for large quilts and sleeping bags, they just dont seem to clean as well as the agitate-in-tub style, and they can take a ridiculous amount of time for a cycle -- wheres the energy savings there that they advertise? Im going to go back to the agitate-in-tub of water style when a replacement is needed. A lot of hype and expense, and plenty of experience with these on my part, but Im going to grade them a C, at best, compared to the agitator style washing machines I use to own.

This Bravos top load was supposed to be energy efficient but after leaking and getting a repair estimate ($79) the technician informed me that the ring and putter tub (all cheap plastic) had several large holes in thin caused by an uneven load. Total cost of repair was $517 for a $900 washer after 3 years. He suggested that the Maytag was junk and that I buy a speed queen...LOL. When I called Maytag of course they lied and said they were not aware of any problems and would not help with the cost of repairs. Can everyone say Class Action Lawsuit...Shame on Maytag! DO NOT BUY THIS washing machine!

I have called this company several times. Most of the time, they tell you that you need to call another department...which means you spend even more time on hold. This washing machine is only 3 years old. I will never buy another Maytag/Whirlpool product again!

I purchased a Maytag model no. MDBH979AWB dishwasher on 4/28/2010, and I did not take out the extended warranty. I thought a Maytag product was built to last, but according to Maytag, I am wrong because they only offer a 1-year warranty on their products. About 2 months ago the hi-temp button on the control panel stopped working. Then a few days ago, the START button stopped working, I emailed Maytag and they sent me a PDF file that shows the warranty is only 1 year. I purchased the dishwasher at Home Depot, I went there and talked to customer service, they were no help either.I am very disappointed in both Maytag and Home Depot for selling products that Are CRAP! I paid $499 for this dishwasher, and if I would have known it only came with a 1-year warranty I would not have purchased it. I will no longer purchase any products that are made by Maytag or any products associated with Maytag.

I would bought a Maytag Aqualift self clean oven. I just ran the clean cycle and it is just as dirty as it was before I ran the cycle. Absolutely nothing happened. Now I have the 2 cups of water at the bottom of my oven they said to put in prior to clean cycle, that I have to get in and clean out. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am very dissatisfied with this Maytag Gemini oven Ive had it for 4yrs. It has been in the shop twice for the same problem. Temperature control. It is down again for the same thing temperature control. The repairman, who I had to look at it, says the bill will be over $500.00. I paid $1300.00 for this stove. I cant afford to put any more money in this stove. I had to pay $100.00 for repairman to tell me this. The model # met8665xw02 serial#D30522404. Is there a recall on this stove? There should be. I sold Maytag products for several years at Circuit City. I always pushed Maytag instead of another brand. I believed in Maytag. The repairman hasnt been lonely to me.

Maytag Cenntenial Washer - We traded our super capacity for the ex-large Maytag washer and we have great regrets. We posted it on Craigslist about 4 months after we bought the unit and NO ONE would buy it for $300.00 even though we paid close to $600, and only 4 months old? What does that tell you? I have had to add 5 gallons (bucket) with each wash to make sure all the soap washes out. Very loud, takes a long time to wash and just worthless. This last weekend, we tried to trade it for a used $150 agitator washer with a used appliance store and they said theyd never be able to sell it and refused the trade. What does that tell you about the washer?

Purchased a Maytag Centennial Washer from Lowes. This is the NOISIEST WASHER I HAVE EVER HAD. Self Balancing, pretty much the way it is, YOU lift that heavy wet laundry and re-arrange to balance. It just slams around even moving the washer, until you do. This washer also doubles as a BLENDER. It SHREDS laundry. The agitator does not go all the way down and thus, clothing, towels, rugs... get stuck under the agitator, wind around and RIP. Have had hundreds of dollars worth of laundry shredded such as: shirts, towels, new rugs and it even ripped the waist off a pair of my jeans! The other laundry gets tied up on the stuck laundry and you end up with a twisted, ripped, tied up Laundry Ball. It will not wash or rinse well when it does this, naturally. Lowes: The salesman knew about all this, and sold it anyway! He had one and got rid of it. Gee thanks Lowes and Maytag, for the worst washer I have ever had the misfortune of owning.

I bought this machine about a yr ago. My clothes come out so dirty white spots all over my clothes. Now my bills are higher. Because I cannot afford another washing machine I have to bring them to the laundromat. I saved my money a long time to buy a washer and now I am without one and still paying for this piece of tin that does not work... If I ever get a chance to buy another one it will not be a Maytag. Trust me never never never again!!!!!!!!

I have a front loader dryer, model number MAH5500BWW, serial number A9147862ec. All of a sudden, I found water on the floor and after opening up the front door, I see where around the part that sticks of on the inside of the door, there is a big piece of plastic that has broken off and cracked all the way across the bottom of the door and is missing. It is allowing the water to leak down the front of the bottom of the washer and onto the floor.

The Maytag Bravos washing machine (Model No. MVWB75OWQ1 Type 580) is the worst Ive ever owned. The low water level obviously is not sufficient to clean the clothes as the clothes come out still dirty. I pre-treat stains carefully and follow all of the directions and 9 times out of 10, my clothes come out with the stain still there. The clothes never smell clean. In fact, they have an odor. My t-shirts still have a smell of BO under the arms and some of my clothes still smell like my perfume. They just arent clean. I feel like we put our dirty clothes in this machine and they agitate around in a little pool of water for an hour and they come out still dirty. The machine frequently gets off balance and shuts down too. If I had the money to trash this one and go buy another one - Id do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately - Im stuck with this piece of junk until I can afford to buy a new one. This was a total waste of money and Maytag should be ashamed that they have not recalled it and given its customers a replacement option.

The refrigerator is barely over two years old and the bottom pan fills with water, freezes and leaks out onto floor. Is a very common problem with these refrigerators and Maytag is happy to pay for the new part to fix it, but will not pay for any person to fix it. They have known this is a problem for a while, but will do nothing to fix it. They clearly do not stand behind their product with a known ongoing problem. The Maytag repairman is no longer not busy. Will never buy a Maytag appliance again! Will take the new part and fix it ourselves.

We have a Maytag Gemini Double Oven Range Model MGR6775ADW. This is a gas range and it was purchased in 2006. This past Saturday afternoon after cleaning the dishes, the igniters on the range starting ticking on their own. I checked to make sure the knobs were not on and they werent. The ticking finally stopped after about 2 minutes. After the ticking stopped, we planned on going out for a walk. Fortunately we didnt. In about 10 minutes after the igniters quit ticking, the range burst into flames. Flames were in the top oven and shooting out the vent holes and the holes where the knobs are located. Coal black smoke was also pouring out of the vents. I quickly pulled the stove away from the wall to prevent the cabinets from starting on fire and I pulled the plug to shut off electricity from the stove. The flames subsided shortly after pulling the plug. The kitchen and house smelled of burning wire insulation and plastic. After doing some research on the internet, I found out that many other people have had the same problem. I reported this to Maytag Customer Service and they wanted to send a repair technician to fix it. I told them I didnt want it fixed but wanted it out of my house. I told them I didnt trust the range since some people reported they had it fixed and the fire occurred again. I wouldnt be able to sleep or go out anywhere knowing that the kitchen range could erupt into flames at any time. The factory authorized repair technician, from A&E, did come to inspect the damage and to report back to Maytag on his findings. He admitted that he wouldnt even trust the range in his house. After paying $1300 for this range and only getting 6 yrs. of use, I feel that we deserve some restitution from Maytag on this badly designed and dangerous piece of equipment they have been selling. Do not buy the Maytag Gemini range. This is a bad and dangerous product.

Buyer Beware!! Purchased my Maytag over the range microwave in May of 2014. It has a manufacture date of Feb. 2014, and it is now Sept. 2014. It is a very nice looking unit but a bit oversized. My handyman that installed it had to raise my cabinets above my stove two inches to avoid it being too close to the range. The motor is pretty loud and It often times does not heat evenly. The light on the unit that shines down on the range is not much better than the power of a night light which is a bit disappointing considering it looks like a higher end unit, and down to the reason I am writing this review today is that for the first time I went to change the bulb. I unscrewed the the light cover which is placed awkwardly toward the very very back of the unit, only to find that when I went to twist out the burnt out bulb (that has been in there since I purchased the unit) that the bulb broke off after hearing what sounded like the break of a seal of glue, and the bottom aluminum piece of the bulb is stuck in the bulb socket. I found that the bulb is placed in an awkward place behind the light cover. Instead of the bulb facing to the left or the right or to the front of the unit it is facing toward the back which is making the bulb socket impossible to see, which means that in order to screw in the bulb you are screwing it in from an angle that you cannot see unless you climb on the range and lay on your back, or get a mirror to help see where you are screwing in the bulb. This is just a very awkward and unpractical design coming from such a well known company with such a common and ordinary product. Now I am sitting here writing this review and I am trying to figure out how I can remove that little piece of aluminum stuck in the light bulb socket and since it is not facing to the left or right and facing toward the back, it leaves me about less than 1/2 space to work with using my hand or a tool to remove that piece, or I can just leave my broken bulb piece in there and screw the cover back on until I call service for Maytag. I believe it is still under warranty but from others experience that I have read about I am not feeling confident I will receive great service or a desirable outcome. Wish me the best!! Control panel start button failed 55 weeks after purchase and installation. Model no. MDB4709PAW. Repair costs for labor and part totaled $298. I have since found out that Maytag dishwashers with this type of control panel are faulty and fail often within first 3 years. Purchased at Johnnies Appliance, Glendora on 6/14/14 NJ; ticket no. **.

I agree with everyone else on here. I would give this Maytag Neptune washer less than 1 star if I could. I also purchased this washer 5 years ago when I bought a new house. According to their commercials, the Maytag repairman is bored because their products are so great. I believe it is because the cost to fix their merchandise when it breaks costs so much.I had a 5-year warranty on my purchase and this washer started making this awful noise but the company wouldnt repair it because it was not broken. However, here I am less than 5 months later, and the bearings are so bad, the tube is scraping and falling apart and leaving plastic pieces in my clothes. I have a 3 year old I dont need plastic pieces in my clothes. You know my husband just left me and I do not have the money to spend on the repair ($500-700) nor have the money to spend on a new washer. Thanks Maytag for your great and wonderful service!
