My old washing machine was about 25 years old but still doing a fantastic job getting the laundry done. When the dryer died we decided to replace both machines so theyd match. I had been setting money aside for years in preparation for this purchase. Ive only had them for two weeks and I stay awake at night wondering what GENIUS decided you can get clothes cleaner in a tablespoon of water than you can in an adequate amount of water?! My old washer could wash a load of laundry in about 20 minutes. Again, what GENIUS decided taking over an hour to wash a load of laundry in a tablespoon of water was a better way?! What working woman would choose to double the time needed to do laundry and then not feel confident that the clothes are clean?!!! I am so mad and frustrated and disappointed and I dont know what to do. I wish I could yell at somebody!!!

As many other reviewers have mentioned there is a defective control panel in the Maytag Dishwasher series MDB 7749. I too purchased this model at Home Depot and did not buy the extended warranty. The serviceman indicated that this model is known for its defect yet Whirlpool who owns Maytag does not have it on its recall list. I wrote to the President twice in Sept. 2017 without the courtesy of a response and now learn that he retired effective Oct.1. Is there no-one to answer his emails or is it more likely they really dont care. Sears just dropped them and who knows where their new president will lead this company. Be aware that this model dishwasher is defective and they wont replace the control panel. Too bad as once Maytag before Whirlpool bought them out, was a good and honorable company.

I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

I had a stackable Maytag dryer that was bought in 2016 but only used during the summer of 2017. Last May the dryer stopped heating. I contacted Maytag and they sent a repairman a week or so later. He identified the problem in the electronic control and ordered a replacement part. The part came and he installed it a week later. The part was faulty and he ordered a replacement for the replacement. It arrived a week later and also did not work. He said he had problems with replacement parts but contacted the technical service department at Maytag as he did the first time. The technical service person said there were problems associated with new software being not compatible with dryers in the last year and we needed a new control panel. I contacted Maytag again waiting the usual hour to get through on the phone. They agreed to replace the parts for free and ordered a control panel that arrived a week later. The technician installed both parts but they did not work. I contacted Maytag again and after waiting the required hour talked to a person who said she would contact the department who could arrange a replacement. They contacted me a few days later and said they would supply a replacement for $250. This was delivered a week or so later but they did not have a stacking kit and returned to the delivery company with the dryer. A week later they returned with the stacking kit but forgot the dryer. A week later they returned with both the dryer and stacking kit but the installer (always a different person) said he was too big to get in the space behind the dryer and that the venting supplied was wrong.I bought new venting from Home Depot and a new installer arrived a week later. He said the new venting was not necessary and in fact wrong and installed the dryer. It ran but foolishly I did not check to see if it heated and neither did the installers or if they did took off without letting me know that the dryer, like the one that was replaced did not heat. I discovered this a couple of days later when I tried to use it. I contacted Maytag and they setup an appointment for a new service technician to visit. I contacted Maytag again today hoping to get some explanation of what might happen next or some explanation. They had no idea but did inform me that they would not replace the new dryer but would start repairs again.

We purchased our home five years ago. We bought a new Maytag oven and fridge/freezer. Within one year, the oven control went out. Then a few months later, the heating element went out. Within two years, our fridge/freezer went out. I purchased Maytag products because of the commercial where the Maytag repairman is doing nothing. I will never purchase a Maytag product again.

Bought a new Maxima washer in January. Worked for one week. Got error codes and electronics board shut down. Contract serviceman says board should have reset after turning off. Ordered new board and it is missing one of the electrical wire connector plugins. Maytag/Whirlpool is having a problem with these boards.Three weeks without a washer. Two days off work. When it goes out again, days off work will be close to what I paid for it. Thinking I may cut my future losses and buy another brand when in-transit board goes out.

My husband and I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer set about a year
My husband and I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer set about a year ago as our first big washer/dryer purchase for our new home. We spent about $1200 on the set from Home Depot. I very much regret this purchase as the washer never gets our clothing clean! The washer never puts enough water in the basin and the clothing comes out with strange white smudges EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.I have tried changing detergent, I have tried skipping fabric softener, Ive tried rinsing out the dispenser thinking it was residue from old soap. I dont know what it is, but what I DO know is that the clothes go in without the white smudges and come back out with them for every load. I have to run a second rinse cycle just to get it off, which means Im washing for at least an hour and a half. I DESPISE this machine and its costing me more on my water bill.Additionally, the dryer isnt much better. It constantly shuts itself off even when its not on energy saver mode, with the little red light going on for air flow. Ive checked the connection and dont see what the issue is. If I have a big load such as blankets in there, I have to dry them all individually for almost an hour just to dry my bedding! It simply wont stay on to dry a full load. I very much regret my purchase and wish Id gone with something simpler and cheaper as it would have done a much better job with my laundry. Lesson learned. Dont waste your money on Maytag.

I will never buy anything made by Maytag again. I just bought this washer 9 months ago and the sensor broke. The repairman said I have to pay $300 for the new part and it will take 3 weeks, then the repair told me many people have this same issue and he wanted to be honest that this always happens to these washers and my best bet is to buy new... I am so sad I saved for 4 months to buy a new washer and it was a bad decision. I have learned my lesson.

A year or so after purchasing our new home, we purchased new appliances. We thought Maytag was a good company to go with. We had serious issues with our 2005 Maytag bottom-drawer freezer refrigerator right off the bat. It arrived with a large dent in the door. They offered to take $50.00 off the price. We insisted on one without a dent. They replaced the refrigerator, and shortly after, the board and the ice-maker went out right away.Although the parts were under warranty, we had to pay for the labor. The refrigerator is 6 years old and now it is making a constant knocking sound. We paid a lot of money for what we thought was a quality appliance. What a joke. We had also bought a new Maytag washer and dryer set and they fell apart after 5 years. It’s the same with the Maytag dishwasher. Do not buy Maytag appliances. They are cheap. They fall apart. The customer service is poor. I feel cheated.

Maytag Bravos XL MCT (Disposable). Model number MVWB835DW3 Top load washer. I’ve read many of the reviews on the site and feel your frustrations. Let me start by saying, at least you have a choice of products. I’m stationed in Okinawa Japan and have ONE place to buy my appliances and a choice of two machines. Both of them are garbage Maytag products. The first one (model noted above) died after 18 months. NOTHING they could do! The “technician” they sent didn’t have a clue. His answer was to replace the control board. Time to receive part? Up to 30 days. Really! My option? Buy the exact same product. I can’t even describe how screwed over I feel.

I have had my Maytag set for shy of 2 full years, of actual usage time, that is. My dryer seems to be functioning normally, minus an occasional lengthy cycle time, even after the clothes are dry. The washer however, is sitting in my garage now. F51 error code, which online told me the rotary position sensor was the issue. Yes, I was told by an A&E repairman, who was at the house for an unrelated repair, that it was the bearing that was bad. When he showed me what I was looking for, there was the bearing laying in the clear plastic housing, in the underside of the washer. Its going to cost around $350.00 to get the part, if it can be found, and the service call. No, not really worth wasting more money on it. I am very unsatisfied with this unit. With 4 kids and 2 adults at home, I expected much more from the Maytag name.

You have to replace the whole tub to fix it with no directions anywhere on how to do it. I had a Maytag top load washer for 15 years before this. They worked perfectly when I sold them. I thought these would be a great purchase for a lot longer than 2 years.

OK, LAWYERS -- Where are you?!! You have a lot of very unhappy people who feel they have been justifiably TAKEN! Whirlpool needs to replace these refrigerators with another brand! We bought same bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator in 2010. Luckily, which we dont usually do, we purchased a five year warranty plan. Within six months we noticed the rubber seal on our refrigerator on the french door part was turning yellow and then getting darker. We feared something was burning the rubber. A Maytag repairman looked at it, called Whirlpool, told them that there werent enough parts to fix this refrigerator. Whirlpool asked him what they should do and he told him it should be taken out on the front lawn and burned (yeah for that repairman)!! Whirlpool agreed to replace the refrigerator with one, very similar but a new model #. Thank heavens, after our insistence, the warranty was extended to the new one. Now after about three years, we are having the same problems that all of you are having with the next one.. Our Home Owners insurance adjuster just gave us a settlement to have all the ceramic tiles removed, which are cracked in almost two dozen places, and whole floor replaced (minus our $1,000 deductible). The floor was put in new three years ago. The refrigerator repairman is next to come out. From what I have just read about all the complaints on this refrigerator, NOTHING is going to fix this problem short of replacing it at our expense. My advise to everyone --- FIGHT THIS. Write to Whirlpool (not Maytag -- Whirlpool owns it), and blast them over and over with letters and complaints and threats of lawsuits. Why should we be taken for that amount of money while Whirlpool does nothing but keep it. A class action suit is badly needed. Big corporations should not be able to take people over like this and get away with it. If it takes a lawyer willing to take on a class action suit, this is it! In the meantime, bombard Whirlpool with letters and dont stop! It takes persistence, but in the end -- most of the time, we will prevail. Big companies hope we will give up and go away. They count on it. Dont let them win!!! I have had a Maytag washer and dryer for twenty years with no problems. Problem is that Maytag doesnt exist anymore -- who is making this....?

My $1,500 Maytag double oven Gemini has been trouble from the get go. 1st, trying to broil something cannot be adjusted. It sits 3 to 4 from the fire & there is no 2nd shelf. The control knobs sit on top of the stove & its easy to burn them when cooking. The broiler has always smelled like its leaking gas. Plus, the bottom oven stopped working & we had to get it repaired. I purchased my first Maytag dishwasher and it was recalled as being a fire hazard. I was offered to have it repaired or pay for an upgrade (approximately $200). I chose to pay and upgrade because I dont want a fire hazard in my home. After my paid replacement, I received a recall on the new dishwasher regarding the same issue (different model) and I chose once again to pay and upgrade (thinking that if I spent $700, I wouldnt have a problem). In less than two months of installation, the dishwasher died in the middle of a cycle. Filled with water, I bailed it out and called Maytag. I told them that I wanted a new one and they told me that I was past the replacement period. They sent a service man out and he stated that it was a problem with model # MDB7709AWB2 and serial # F03002958. He said that it was easy to fix and said he had done it several times. So now, within less than 1 month before my warranty is expired, the dishwasher did the same thing--it died in the middle of the cycle and wont turn on. I called Maytag and they told me that they would send out a third party repair company (JD Appliance) but I would have to wait for four days. I contacted Maytag and said that I was concerned about the dishwasher breaking down again for the same problem (bi metal unit blew). This is the second time it happened. Jeremy, the repair man, said that the first replacement was not installed properly and they should have replaced the entire unit. He stated that it was a common problem with that model, as did the first repairman in Dec 2010. When I spoke to a supervisor named Kia at 800-344-1274, she stated that they had no known issues with this model. I said that it was not what the repairman told me as well as the Maytag dispatcher. They both said that the heat sensor (Bi Metal Thermal Unit Part No. W10258275) goes up and has to be replaced because it is overly sensitive. If you are out of warranty, it costs around $200 to have it fixed. I told Kia and she said that it was not documented in her file, therefore, it never happened. I want to know my consumer rights to address this issue. I have paid for (on 3 occasions) a new dishwasher and have continuous issues that cost me money. I want an assurance like an extended warranty, free of charge, for the dishwasher that has already been repaired twice for the same exact problem. I have the original part that was improperly replaced to prove that it wasnt replaced to specifications, therefore, blowing it again. I was told by Kia that Maytag does not compensate or replace their products unless deemed not repairable by the technician. It doesnt matter how many time the same problem occurs. I would appreciate your attention to this matter.

The Maytag Bravos Washer we bought had a stinky odor we couldnt get rid of. We found that clothes had gone over the basket and lodged in the filter above the pump; end of stinky smell. Later, we found that pennies and other small items had slipped into the fins of the drain pump and ground them off. The filter does not keep out of the pump and is not made right to stop damage. I called a local Maytag dealer who said he had a lot of similar complaints. I called Maytag who stated they have no registered complaints of this type and had no fix for it. Avoid the Bravos line of washers - they are not made right and Maytag will not admit it or help you. Bravo for Maytag who are obviously not going to act on it. Make a formal complaint and find if someone has a lawsuit you can join!

I bought a Maytag refrigerator, model MBF 2256 KEQ2, two and a half years ago. Now the cooling coils are freezing up. I checked heater and thermostat for continuity and they were okay so the only thing left was the timer control circuit. On the earlier models, the timer control circuit is controlled by a Timer Motor or an Adaptive Defrost Timer which is separate from the main Electronic Control Board and much less expensive. On later models (including mine), the timer control circuit is incorporated into the main Electronic Control Board so if your automatic defrost quits working, more than likely you will have to replace the main board. I did not purchase an extended warranty because I believe they are useless from past experience. I bought the part on Amazon.com, received it in four days and replaced it myself for a cost of $78. This part costs $110 to $118 at Sears or a Maytag dealer.

I called Maytag and they were kind enough to pay for the part and I had to pay for the service. Now it is July of 2015 and the control panel is going out again. I called Maytag directly and talked with a service representative and the best they could do for me was for $269.95 they would have it fixed and I would have a one year warranty as well. Based on the pattern the warranty is not going to help as it goes out just after a year. For only having it 2 1/2 years it is becoming a very expensive dishwasher. Well, slightly over two years later, this piece of junk (Model MDB6709AWAQ1) needs almost $300 worth of repairs. The repairman said they are no longer made to last and have been that way since about the year 2000. All of the inner workings are run by electronics which only last about two years. We had purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local appliance store in May 2012. The fridge was delivered in June and come August 5, 2013, it does not work. First, the temperature of the refrigerator declined drastically causing us to lose over $500 worth of food. Items that were even unopened had to be thrown down the drain. The first call was made to Maytag customer service. They decided to send a technician. Great. The technician came and informed us that it was the refrigerant. WRONG. The second technician comes and states that the compressor is shot and that is why it is not staying cold. Time to order the compressor that is on back order. Shocking. Another week goes by without a fridge. Cut to the third technician who comes and installs the new compressor. Fridge is cool and at about 32 degrees for probably 4 hours. The food goes back in the fridge and the temperature climbs to 70 within minutes. Strike two. Contact Customer Service and demand answers on what can be done. Speak with the first representative named Melinda. If you get her good luck. She states she doesnt care and hangs up. Call back to speak with another representative who is very sweet and compassionate and tries her best to help. Unfortunately, she was unable to do so. Asked to speak with a supervisor and had the displeasure of speaking with Scott. For all the trouble that we have been going through, time wasted, food thrown away, Scott can offer $100. Yeah, okay, nice try. The more we speak with Scott, he ups the ante to $150 and the final offer of $200. I advised Scott that there is someone higher than him that needs to be involved after he told me that he was the highest I could go. Wrong again. Time goes by and nothing happens. We receive a call from Yvette ** that was missed and call her back in the corporate executive office. We have contacted her and left her 4 voice mails and the response has been nothing. Actually, calling her you get her message that she is not available. This is over the span of a week. Nothing. ANOTHER technician is sent to look at the fridge and what was supposed to be a brand new compressor that was installed and states that the fridge is condemned. Well isnt that lovely?! Of course because the parts are made in Brazil and Maytag is charged $15 for them and they charge the consumer $200. There is no reason why they should work. We got in touch with the appliance store who told us that we need to speak with Maytag to ask for our money back because we are NOT taking the same fridge as a replacement. Now, we are plagued with the appliance store not taking our calls, the corporate executives not taking our calls, and a $1300 stainless steel french door paperweight. With a call in to our attorney and the phone poised to be dialing our local news stations, I am not sure of what the next move for Maytag will be. Im sitting here after 21 days of not having a refrigerator hoping that a call and resolution comes soon. My family will NEVER EVER purchase a Maytag appliance again. I wouldnt even purchase Maytag brand toilet paper because Im sure that it would need to have one function and even that function as easy as it is would not work. People, please save yourself the headache and the money and the time of dealing with Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amana. Their customer service does not care about you, their products are crap, and they will swindle you and leave you high and dry. I hope to have some good news about this issue but I can guarantee that nothing good is going to come of this, well, at least for Maytag. Get on your social media and let people know how TERRIBLE this company is. STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. Sorry Maytag, the buck stops here.

When my husband surprised me with a double oven stove I was leery. First Thanksgiving my thoughts were concurred as the 20lb turkey fell from the chinsey rack.....even a cookie tray with almonds fell down.... Unfortunately the lower oven is off by 1/2, no racks work in there. My biggest gripe is that the seller did not exchange it, just tried more racks. Now Maytag will not do anything but allow me to order more racks. This item is a huge piece of junk.

I sold my 20 year old Maytag set and upgraded to this Maytag Bravos washer. This machine takes almost 1 hour to do a load and they come out dirty. Only way to get clean is to set on bulky sheet which uses twice as much water as old machine. This unit should have never been put on the market.

I have lost all the food that was in the refrigerator & freezer and I told by Maytag that its not covered under warranty. The tech gave me a ball park quote of $600.00- $700.00 to repair the unit & I lost at lest $200.00 or more in food. I cant believe a new refrigerator wont even last 3 years & they wont fix their problem. So much for buying American made products. Whirlpool YOU SUCK & SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!

We bought a New Condo, all New Maytag appliances with a 10 yr. warranty, the microwave is a built-in model. I cant believe weve only been here a year and eight months and it just stop working. We use it for heating and short timed cooking like 1 to 2 minutes. I would think a name brand product would last a lot longer than this. I had an off brand microwave for five years before the condo. A couple of times the microwave door didnt close, I thought I forgot to close it. But after reading your reviews I now realize its one of the defects of the product. I called the Maytag company, they informed me that if a serviceman come out to fix it, it will cost me $180 until they can determine if the cause is something covered by their warranty??? The Home Builders bought Maytag junk and passed us the cost, now Maytag wants me to pay to see if their junk can be fixed??? Wow!!! This is unbelievable!

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL MCT because It could wash King size comforters/bed linen. I needed a machine that was large capacity. Also it was an HE washer that cut my water usage down quite a bit and reduced my water cost. Also this machine did a great job of cleaning my clothes and household items. The features were good. Variety of load type water temp if it was delicate, bedding, denim and more. I have had it for 5 years and so far no problems. It came with a 10 year warranty.

Under no circumstances should anyone buy an MMV4205DE or maybe any Maytag microwave. These units contain defective door switches and will fail within a year rendering the unit useless. The engineer that got the bright idea to protect us from starting the microwave without opening and closing the door along with the engineer that designed the defective switch scheme should be fired immediately.I purchased the unit March 2016 to replace a 10-year-old Maytag that had a failed magnetron, no problems ever with the door switches! This unit started to act up in Dec 2016 with the fatal open/close door problem, I am an EE so I opened the unit and checked the switches and found they were defective, replaced both for $80 and 6 months later the problem is back. I am buying another brand as I dont have time to deal with the problems with this unit. I now have the old white 15-year-old unit that I replaced years ago sitting on the counter to use while another unit is on order. Unit is heading for the landfill next month. Never buy a Maytag microwave, they all have the same problems!!!

I purchased the Maytag Bravos top load washer and the matching dryer at Home Depot back in 2009 after giving my son my very old Maytag washer and dryer that was running just fine. I liked the top load energy efficiency idea of the new Bravos and the large capacity of both the washer and dryer. Also, the Maytag name sold me, gave me confidence I was purchasing a quality product... WRONG. When it was delivered, there was damage to the dryer door, so a new one was ordered and mailed directly to me. Once it came in, I called to have someone come put it on. First issue, not a really big deal but disappointing.About one month into using the dryer, the top of it became so hot it could literally burn your hand. There was also an error message. I had purchased a one-year warranty, even though technically there is a manufacturers warranty on the product. A part had to be replaced in the panel. This happened twice. We then moved out of state for one year and the washer and dryer stayed in storage unused during that time.Fast forward to 2014 and the washer will not complete any cycle except the spin cycle. I keep getting an error message of OL which means overload. The machine is NOT overloaded. It literally takes me hours to get through one cycle of washing clothes. And they dont even come out clean. I called Maytag repair and they offered me a one-year warranty for $363.75 since the washer is having issues. They explained to me if its the control panel the cost alone for that is $383.00 not including labor. Also, the dryer take forever to dry. I have to run each load through a cycle twice to dry everything. So much for the energy efficiency of these machines. At this point, I am considering just buying another washer, something cheaper without all the fancy bells and whistles. I am terribly disappointed in Maytag.

My Maytag model MMV4205BAB microwave turns on and heats when the door is closed. We paid a lot of $$ for this overhead microwave and it has not been a satisfactory product. The turntable broke within a couple of months and now this. Im afraid it will burn my house down. This is a defective product and in my opinion it should be recalled. I have read several other posts about this exact model and problem. We purchased all Maytag appliances for our new home and we have had problems with all of them. The auger on the ice maker on the freezer broke within a couple of months. The handle on the oven door broke off while the builder was installing the appliances, and the top of the line dishwasher doesnt clean the dishes. It leave deposits on everything, no matter the detergent used. Ill never purchase Maytag again!

So I get the matching set washer and dryer when I moved into my new house. I thought I was getting a nice set. I paid around $1600 for them with the sale they had going on. From day one the washer wouldnt get a full size comforter wet on the bulky cycle or heavy duty cycle. I even tried the extra rinse cycle on both as well. I would have stop it mid wash and rotate the comforter. Clothes wouldnt settle sometimes and would leave the top dry and bottom soaking wet. In the first year the lid latch started going bad. So sometimes you would go back to realize the load hadnt even started. Clothes dont get clean no matter what setting you use. It is the worst purchase Ive ever made. The dryer was ok until its almost second year. It just stopped drying it seemed. I cleaned EVERYTHING! No effect. It takes 3 full cycles at minimum to dry clothes. I cant understand why these machines arent pulled from the market or recalled because they are junk.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749AWB2 in Dec. 2011 from Home Depot after a major flood destroyed my entire first floor of my house. I had replaced a previous dishwasher only a short time before the flood. This dishwasher is JUNK. I was lucky I bought a five year extended warranty on it which actually gave me 6 years. I needed it. Within a year the control panel went. Then water started spraying out the side of door. Then it sounded like it was crushing ice every time I ran it. Then the control panel went out again. Ice noise came back again. Control panel a 3rd time. It runs for hours as it is.Now the warranty is expired and last time I ran it the start light was blinking a few hours later. We were having high winds on and off so I thought maybe the power went on and off and that’s why it was blinking. Today I turned it on and after about 45 minutes I realized I didn’t hear it running anymore so I got up and looked and sure enough it wasn’t on. Normally the clean light is lit when done. I opened the dishwasher to see it filled with water still. I tried to hit cancel/drain but nothing works yet again. Wonderful news for a single mom that can’t afford to fix this over and over! Maytag is the worse company. Their dishwashers are horrible and they should be doing something about this as I’m not the only one that has had this issue. Home Depot was just as useless. Will NEVER buy again.

Hello, I bought the above top load Maytag washer last summer and shortly after purchase the spin cycle was accompanied by a load grinding noise. This became progressively worse per use and I contacted Maytag Canada. The experience calling is a challenge with often busy, and at times long waits. When I did get through on the line they were very good customer-service-wise and arranged for a local accredited company to attend my home and assess the problem. Service visit number one resulted in the lack of parts to fix, so I waited two weeks for the next visit with appropriate parts. Washer began to grind again, I called Maytag, another appointment was set, service call #2 again resulted in the SAME parts being replaced as service #1, and upon departure the washer immediately resumed grinding. Call #3 to Maytag and a 4th visit was scheduled to my home. This time with a different service provider, parts changed washer not fixed. Maytag called and this time I asked for replacement. Three weeks later I received a new washer. The version was updated so the drain hose no longer reached my drain pipe. Once sorted out, my first wash today with the new unit and GGGRRRIIINNDDDING.. I would not recommend this product. Will be calling Maytag again Monday.

Bravos MCT - I researched online and bought the highest rated machine that had the features I wanted. I like the top loading and the less water used. It cleans well but I would like more control like water temperature for example. I have had this washer about a year. I also want quiet but did not get it in this washer. That is tough cause you dont know until you have it! I think that it is hard to buy big appliances and be happy with them at my age because at 70 years old you remember when a washing machine was built to last a lifetime! Now they last maybe five years and they cost as much or more! I am not interested in lots of the bells and whistles. I just want a washer that will last and does its job. Mine has a glass door in the top so you can watch your wash (I guess..). Well, who wants to stand around and watch your wash...get a life!!! Also, it fogs up right away so you couldnt see it if you wanted to. It all seems pretty silly to me but I guess that is the way the world works today. So I go with it and I watch my wash.

Big mistake. Worst purchase ever!! These high-efficiency washers (Maytag Washer Bravos XL) are the worst especially this one! I wash and wipe down the washer drum more than I was my clothes. I purchased it because it had a huge drum so I can wash my blankets and comforters. This washer leaves soap scum marks/residue on clothes and leaves it on the drum as well. I basically have to wash my clothes twice once with soap and then run again with just wash and rinse without soap, you tell me how efficient is that! Why not make a washer that put more water so the clothes can get washed properly. Dont worry about my water and electric bill. MAKE A WASHER THAT WORKS!I called customer service she asked me if I use the deep water, now you tell me why am I going to use the deep water, if that is the only way the washer is going to clean the clothes then do NOT give me 11 other options the washer to use. ONLY HAVE DEEP WASH OPTION. I dont care about the bells and whistles, I do not need a different tune when I turn it on and a different tune when its done washing my clothes. Make the washer the way it used to be WASHES CLOTHES WITH WATER AND LOTS OF IT. I will pay my bill not to worry. So I called customer service all they said was they will document my call! Well... like thats going to do me any good while I am stuck with your POS washer!

Like many others, I opened up the door and found the corroded ribbon connector (see photo). I purchased a Maytag Top Loader Washer MVWX500XL last May 2011 from Home Depot to replaced our 15-year old GE washing machine. Two weeks ago, it started making horrible noise like a jet engine taking off during spin cycle. I called in the Maytag repairman and was told that the bearing is gone and it will cost $ 493.00 to repair it. He claims that the damage is caused by not using HE detergent exclusively and he refused to leave us a written estimate. We are only three adults in our household and we do our laundry once or twice a week. For this machine to be repaired only after 2 1/2 years of light service and for almost the same cost as a new one, I will never buy another Maytag/Whirlpool products ever again and I will encourage everyone the same.

Waste of $1700. Well all I can say is I wish I woulda read these reviews prior to buying but thought Maytag was a good brand. Boy was I wrong. Never again will I purchase Maytag products. I must say I haven’t had any issues with the dryer. Works great. The washer on the other hand is garbage!! It barely cleans the clothes. Some articles only get partially wet. Everything tangles together. The worst part is all my dark clothes ends up full of dust and lint. They look dirtier coming out than when they went in. Very disappointed. If you use deep load it takes about 1 1/2hrs to wash, definitely not energy efficient, and clothes still have lint on both cycles, and unfortunately most of our clothes need to be hung up, so dryer can’t pick up the lint. My old wash was way better. I shoulda went for same old style. Save you money and buy another brand.

At that point I was told they do have a warranty but could not sell it to me because I had already had someone diagnose the issue. I paid $800 for the machine and the difference between the repair and the warranty was $40, so I thought it would be smarter to have some type of coverage if anything else went wrong. Nope they will not give you the coverage. I contacted Maytag because I figured the dryer was still under some type of warranty. They sent out a technician only to tell me this was a cosmetic problem and cosmetic problems are not covered under the 10 year warranty. I would need an authorization code from Maytag if it was covered under warranty.Again, I contacted Maytag and now they want to send another technician for a second opinion. I dont feel this is cosmetic because the dryer is only 6 months old and already the paint is peeling. I feel this is a product defect because this type of problem shouldnt happen on a new appliance. This is was my first time experience to purchase Maytag Bravos XL (MWWB835DW) 5.3-cu High Efficiency Washer. I need it fast replacement to my front loader Samsung washer as it was recalled and had mold issues. I was looking for a High Efficient and Star Energy digital, glass top reliable machine. I may say that I was fooled by advertisement and promotion from the Advertisement and promotion from Home Depot. I did not know much about Maytag Brand but I was convinced by sales person and price promotion. Big Mistake! Huge! I am extremely dissatisfied with this washer, it doesn’t use enough water to cover the clothes! No matter which cycle you use, the clothes don’t come clean.I wash and re-wash my clothes and ending up paying huge water and electric bills as I have to use deep hot water wash each time and after rewash again! Not so High Efficient! After using this machine for just over 6 month all my white expensive towels turned gray and all my whites is no longer white. This washer ruin my clothes. Another problem that this machine doesn’t have small load quick wash and if you have a small load it will go through 50 minutes cycle and I still need another wash after all! If I would wash my king size comforter I still have to do it twice and it does NOT rinse all the water out! I thought I can do big load but this machine cannot handle big loads! My laundry days became a nightmare! I would not call this machine High Efficient at all! Company does bogus advertisement just to fool and attract consumers. This is terrible washer which make me think how possibly this machine is on the market and allowed to be sold? I did not notice problem till very late and I missed my 90 days return policy. Now I have to find another replacement. What a waste of money! I do not recommend this machine to my enemy. Please read reviews before buying this horrible machine. Do not miss your 90 days policy returns. Save your water and electric bills by avoiding Bravos XL. I am hoping that Consumer Protection will step in and evaluate numbers of complaints and will help those who were fooled and ripped off by such a false advertisement.

The circuit board on my seven year old Maytag French door refrigerator died. I called a repair company out to see if it could be repaired. He went to order the part and said that it was not available. Now I read a review from someone else saying that Maytag does not have parts for appliances that are over 6 years old. Thats ridiculous that after spending so much money on an appliance that parts are not available. I will never buy another Maytag appliance.

I have spent a lot of effort leveling my machine, and my wife balances the load very carefully, but 10 times during a cycle, it will start slamming the tub around, so loud you can hear it from the street. I, like others in this forum, thought I was buying the best washer in the market, and paid extra for the Maytag name. It sounds like from the other complaints, that my problem is just the tip of the iceberg. It will cost me $200 to replace the suspension rods. I wouldnt mind paying the money, if I thought it would fix my problem. After reading about all of the other problems with the Bravos, I might just cut my losses, and get a new one. What a waste of $1,000.

I bought a top of the line Maytag commercial washer. We had a number of service calls replacing parts, gear box etc. Then, they finally replaced the machine and all the same issues happened again. They will not take back their machine or refund me my almost $1K paid. The washer squeals when it starts washing and clunks all while agitating - I can hear it upstairs. After yet another service call (#11 now and no salary replacement for me) the result is that Maytag says when the temp in the house is 67 or lower, the parts in their machine expand and contract and will make noise. No fix, no refund oh, and no one you can contact by email in Canada to help. Moral of the story, dont buy Maytag.

Maytag model MBF1958XEQ1 frost build up and ice build up bottom freezer 2011 model. Recently refrigerator not able to stay cold. Contacted Associated Service Corp. because my fridge had a ten year warranty on the compressor only. It cost me $377 dollars to have a service tech change the circuit board and remove a rubber drain valve that was blocking the excess water drain to the evaporator tray. It is working well now but will keep looking for ice build up.

The oven range (model number mgr8772wb) will not heat to proper temperature. It runs 35 degrees cold even after the built-in adjustment of 30 degrees. the repairman said it was just a cold-natured oven and we had to get used to it. So if a recipe calls for 400 degrees, you must preheat to 430 degrees. As much as this thing cost, it should cook properly. I must rethink Maytags reputation. I thought they were the best. Wrong.

They said it was normal. Further talks with customer service brought statements that we caused problem by drying blue jeans. Funny we never had. They just continued to say this discoloration was normal and we did something to cause problem and nothing they could do. But at least they were sorry for our problem. Worst washing machine!!! I purchased the top loader Maytag Bravos washer HE in 2011 and they are the worst!!! It has been repaired three times already and now is making such a loud noise and I have been told it is the bearings. I did purchase the extended warranty and it expired. The reason I did not get a renewal is Maytag & Home Depot do not allow the the extended warranty company to let you know the warranty is ending. So now I have a 3 1/2 year old washer that needs bearings and will cost $500 + for repairs. Will not be spending anymore money on this absolute piece of junk. I had a Maytag that was 22 years old that I replaced and thought I was buying the same quality but never again another Maytag. This company may want to employ only repairmen because you will need only them because no one should buy a new one going forward.

I purchased our Maytag dishwasher last November. Last week, the control panel went out. I called customer service and they were actually polite and helpful, except for the fact that I had to wait an entire week to have a technician come to my house. Being that I live in the Balt/DC Metro area, I would have thought they would have enough people in the area to come over faster. Anyhow, we finally had the technician come today and tell us that the control panel needs replaced and that he highly recommends an extended warranty, which costs $200 for 5 years. He let my husband know that the repair itself would cost $500 if not covered by warranty!!! What a ripoff! I purchased this dishwasher because I grew up believing in the Maytag brand. Sounds like this is an extremely common issue and if Maytag wants to make things right, they should discontinue sale of their crap product and provide those of us who are stuck with it, a complimentary 5 year warranty. I shouldnt have to pay $200 in extended warranty to make up for the fact that my control panel is likely to go out again in another year, when Ill be forced to buy a new dishwasher.

Just had the repairman here. This machine is computerized so it won’t last. It does not have a setting that lets me do any load of laundry the way I need to do it. I have to use heavy duty to do a load and then it takes 2 hours. When I want to do a load of sweaters on delicate it will not put near enough water in the machine to wash them. The normal cycle does not add enough water to wash, let alone rinse the clothes. I can’t choose the size of the load based on how much I need to wash so I have to do more loads at 2 hours each or do everything on bulky. Whoever came up with all this needs to be fired. I am extremely unhappy with this machine and I have loved Maytag for years. No more.

Bought this Bravo washer from a Sears Outlet Store. Had trouble the first 2 weeks and did all the troubleshooting to no avail. Just when I was ready to return it to the store I decided to try one more thing. The guys who hooked it up had reversed the water hoses - cold was hooked up to the hot intake, and hot water was hooked up to the cold intake. We purchased our Maytag through Sears. We wanted a very basic machine, and thats what we found at Sears, yay! Fast forward eight years and it suddenly quit agitating. We tried fixing it ourselves by replacing a plastic gear part, which, later on our appliance technician said was totally logical, but it still wouldnt work. We got our appliance repairman out here and he took it into the shop and fixed the problem, which turned out to be part of the motor or something like that. The thing that bothers me the most is that he asked if we had bought a refurbished washer, but we hadnt, it was brand new. He gave us a part that was swapped out that wasnt made for the machine and also said the safety guard for the cord was missing. This keeps it from pulling out of the machine in case it gets jerked. I feel deceived and just wanted to vent because there really isnt anything I can do about it now. Buyer beware, yes, but I know we have to be our own technician sleuths to be sure were getting what we paid for?

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher on Nov. 5, 2013 from Freds Appliance. I had to have the control panel fixed twice and it failed again in June 1916. My stemware had a film on it and I either had to wash it by hand or rinse it in hot water and dry by hand. Thus I felt like how could my other dishes not have this film on them even though I faithfully used Finish. I have 2 daughters who live within a half mile of me and they did not have this trouble with their dishwashers. I always felt Maytag was a top brand, but I replaced my 3 year old Maytag with a Whirlpool that my daughter and her family of 4 used for 19 years. Guess what... my glasses come out sparkling without using Finish and they wash in half the time and are dry!

I purchased a Maytag Bravos in October 2015 and a month and a half later the machine began to make a tweeting sound and the clothes were coming out incredibly wrinkled no matter what spin cycle I put it on. There were also times when the clothes came out totally dripping wet like they hadnt spun at all. I called Maytag and they sent out a technician from a local store which was not a Maytag store. When I told him what was going on, his response to the machine turning out very wrinkly clothes was, Well, why dont you just chose no spin. I said to him, So the clothes wont spin and I have to take out my clothes dripping wet? Doesnt that defeat the purpose of having a washing machine that spins? He didnt say anything to me.It turned out the machine needed a new gasket motor... after two and a half months... and it would take a week - minimum - before he would come back. Maytag sent me a survey which I filled out and they called a day later. They offered me a six month extended warranty for free. I explained to them that I didnt understand why something mechanical would break after two and a half months but the woman just kept apologizing.

We bought our Maytag Bravo top loader on May 5, 2010. The machine was working fine. Then last week with no warning, the F51 error code popped up. We called Sears and they sent a repairman out. The result was the sensors work independently from each other (tested correct in the Ohms range). It made it through an entire diagnostic test, but will not complete a wash cycle. The repair guy concluded that the control board was bad. Estimated cost to fix was upwards of $400. I cannot afford to fix. Our issue with this product is that it is apparent, from reading all the forums, that this is a known issue. And we believe Maytag should be reimbursing consumers for this repair or they should recall the washer. Our washer is used on the weekends and it should have lasted us for minimally five years. All we wanted was to make it through one military overseas tour with it, not asking much. Instead, this machine lasted two years. Unacceptable.

I purchased your refrigerator (model #mfd2561heb) in 2005. I bought a Maytag, because I thought it would last me a lifetime. I came to find out it will not. I called Maytag, and got Repair Plus One. The repairman came out without a compressor or capacitor. Now, I have to wait 4 days or more. I have a 3 year olds birthday party, of which we will be working out of our 19 year old Kenmore in the garage, which has worked flawlessly. To make it short, you lost me as a customer, because of this product! I just wanted to let you know. It is sad too, as we enjoyed the refrigerator. Its been making noise for awhile. I thought it was just part of the ice maker. Now, it cost me another $299, plus all the food I had to throw out! There was a big recall of refrigerators from Maytag around the time mine was made. I think that this model should be part of that recall as well. Dont buy a Maytag! They may have had quality at one time, but I just think those days are gone. Thank God for our Kenmore in the garage. I dont know what I wouldve done without it.
