We have a similar problem to the others who gave reviews on their still NEW Maytag refrigerators. Ours isnt even four years old and several weeks ago we started smelling a chemical odor which then permeated all of our food in the refrigerator and freezer. We didnt buy the extended warranty because we have owned a few refrigerators and all have lasted just fine for 15+ years with no problems. So I called Maytag. They said for a charge of $369.95 they would schedule a repair and would cover the service call, parts and repair and provide an 12 month warranty. If the service call results in an inability to repair the refrigerator, they will refund the full amount of $369.95. So I asked if Maytag would then replace the refrigerator, and the rep said we have to start with the service call before they would discuss any type of refund or replacement. Im angry and disappointed in Maytag. Its a good thing we have a spare refrigerator in our basement. What a hassle! Weve already had to throw away over $100 in food that picked up that horrible odor. Shame on Maytag!

I am a Baby Boomer... just like so many of us, I watched those lonely Maytag Repairman television commercials. Yes, silly me I purchased our top loading Maytag Bravos XL because of the brand name and because the machine was large enough to wash our bedding. Well, like so many fellow purchasers have found, this machine does not get the clothes clean and leaves soap spots all over the clothes. Its embarrassing. Additionally, there is that funny smell after the clothes come out of the wash. Well, Maytag has really done a number on us all. Kudos to their research & development department for creating a washing machine where the clothes come out dirtier. Has Maytag thought about a RECALL? I will tell everyone I know to NEVER buy a Maytag.

I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything beside Maytag. Our old Maytag refrigerator broke. Would cost too much to fix. So, we decided to buy new. We had the old white, which I was perfectly fine in buying again, however, white was super expensive. So, the salesperson persuaded us to purchase stainless steel. We got a pkg for close to $4000 all in June of 2016. Needless to say, these items have been called for repair within the 1 year warranty over half a dozen times, and have had to replace pieces that have just broken. My worst experience is the stove. I really do not like it at all. I feel the product is misleading. We wanted a self cleaning oven. It is the newest brand out there for what I consider a joke. It is the AquaLift Technology that does not clean anything. My old Maytag self cleaning oven cleaned far better than this. The same spots are in the oven. It just is worthless. I have addressed my frustration with Maytag where I was told that the oven is for the light user. Well, then you need to educate the people who sell your stuff, because I have a family I cook a lot. If this product was made for an apartment single person who does not cook then we should have been informed. Your product states Self Cleaning. Its not self cleaning!!! My frustration went up to the main office of Maytag where their resolution was to give me a discount on a new stove.What do I do with the one I have, and I was told I could sell it!!!! Really Maytag wow from a consumer that has always been a valued customer this is the level of service I get. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty on all Maytag products, because of my fear of something just breaking again. My advice to all is either buy a no named brand or buy something cheaper. Please folks if you have a family do not purchase these products. Its for people that just need a pretty display of appliances!!!

Dont buy a washer from Maytag, they put it together wrong and the transmission leaks so it will stop spinning after time and then it fries the motherboard. Too expensive to fix so you have to by a new one.. Their 10 year warranty is a joke and doesnt cover anything hasnt even been 5 years yet. Garbage products.

Maytag calls peeling paint a cosmetic issue. With a convection oven it could be a toxicity issue. Waiting for an answer to my question as the fan blows the peeling paint onto anything that is not covered. Dont put foil on the bottom as this compromises the paint due to design. Truly sorry to have purchased Maytag as this line is not the Maytag we grew up with! Old school ovens and products had the quality or workmanship to last.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDBH979SAM0) three years ago. Four weeks ago the control panel wouldnt work correctly. No matter what cycle I attempted to select, other cycle buttons lit up. The start button did not light and the cancel button would not turn off. I called a repair guy, he came out and said Maytag was having a lot of problems with the control panels. He reset the machine and finally got it working again. He said he wasnt able to get a new control panel from Maytag due to demand/delay in manufacturing. Today the control panel went out again. Based on all the other reviews Im not sure its feasible to put more money in this machine. Ill research other dishwashers and get one that has a better performance record. DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG.

I was all too excited to FINALLY own a new set! I conducted research and read reviews. We decided on the Maytag Bravo XL set (Lowes) and was thrilled! For the first 6 months. They were both fantastic! 6 months later, several times the clothes washed were soaking wet as if they had been set on soak. It continuously alerted to clean after 3 loads. The dryer... Well, evidently, if you live in a high-humidity region, DO NOT HOOK TO THE WATER LINE FOR THE STEAM OPTION. It will soak your dry clothes! After 3 loads of drying, it fails to re-start for the 4th load for at least 12 hours! When paying over $1,590 for a new set, this should not be an issue. Mind you, I do laundry once a week - 5 to 7 loads including linen. Fortunately, we paid an additional $200 for the warranty at Lowes.Lets see what happens there!

As with most other owners I am dissatisfied with the cleaning action of the machine. I suspect, that in an attempt to garner green bonus points, the engineers have tweaked the cleaning water amount to the absolute minimum that may do the job and lengthened the wash cycle to the point that laundry for two average adults is an all day affair. Only get a decent washing job if you make very small loads. If you put a set of king cotton sheet in the machine, you will find that the machine manipulates them into the shape of your compact spare tire, and when you take them out... you will find many sections where the water did not reach... bone dry! Reload, rewash, ground hog day with each load. Cant wait for it to throw a bearing so I can get something else.

At 10 months old, the compressor fails. It took one week to fix. Exactly two months later, the compressor fails again. This time, there are no compressors in stock per the manufacturer and the extended warranty folks. Ten days and counting. 90 degrees outside. No idea when they will be available. It’s time to walk this one year old to the curb and get a responsibly built one. I should have held on to my old one. DO NOT CONSIDER A MAYTAG refrigerator.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in Jan 2012 at Home Depot. It ran fine for 1 and 1/2 years and was only used 2-3 times per week. I returned from vacation and now needs a new control board at a cost of $300. I felt Maytag was a reputable company and am very disappointed. I am a senior and on fixed income and now sorry I chose a Maytag. I will get it fixed this time but that is the last money I will invest in Maytag appliances and repairs. I worry that the washer and dryer will go next as they are also Maytag and are just over 1 yr old.

I totally understand the technology age. We need to move forward as a country and keep up with modern technology. But somebody please tell me why this means companies have the right to not stand by their products? Why do consumers have to pay the price for bad products and companies leaving us high & dry? My husband & I were excited to redo our kitchen. We bought all new appliances in November 2011 - all Maytag. In December 2012 (13 months after we bought them), we started having issues with the oven. The oven would not maintain the proper temperature. We called a service man in January 2013. He deduced it was the computer board so he replaced it. Cost to us - $350 (including service call and labor). Now, less than 2 months later, the same problem. Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore - whatever company you are now - rest assured, you will not survive if you continue to produce shoddy products and refuse to back them up. The service man is to stop by again tomorrow. I refuse to keep plugging money into a product only 15 months old. I will not buy another product from you again. I just hope the dishwasher, microwave and fridge make it to at least 5 years old. Isnt this funny? My grandma has a Maytag washer & dryer - 35 years old. You sure cant say positive things about your products today. Good luck to your future - youll need it.

We are on our 2nd Maytag washer with the 1st being a top load with agitator and the second without. Both were also bought used. The 1st one broke after I was cleaning it so totally my fault but the second one the door lock broke. Aside from that they do wash clothes well and but I do wish there were more or different cycle settings. Overall they are good machines for out price. (Being used that is.)

Control Panel MDB8949SBB - I purchased my dishwasher in August of 2013. The control panel has stopped working and Maytag refuses to discuss the issue with us. Regardless of how many complaints they receive they are in denial about their product. They now offer a Repair +1 program which costs $260 for a repair and an additional 1 year warranty. If I do that I will get 1 year out of it before I run into the same problems. Any ideas?

I purchased my Bravo (MVWB300WQ2) washer a little over two years ago. It took all day to wash some loads due to leveling problems. Example, you could not put more than two bath towels in at a time, even with the towel setting. The washer would stop and you have to re-position the towels. You cannot leave because it stopped so often. Also, the washer makes an extremely loud noise during the spin cycle. My most recent problem, it does not complete the spin cycle. My clothes are still very wet. I refuse to call service. Its just too costly. It would be the third time in less than 3 years. However, the first time was within the year warranty (no charge). The basket had to be replaced - it was ripping my clothes. During my second service call, the technician advised me in purchasing an extended warranty. I paid for the service call and for a one-year extended warranty which just recently ended. The washing machine is not worth paying for service again. I am going to purchase a new machine instead!

Purchased a Maytag Dryer, Washer and Oven Range in December 2011. Both washer and oven were serviced within 1 year under warranty. The dryer stopped working in August 2013, not under warranty. Total cost to repair is $450. Called Maytag to see if they could reduce the repair cost, answer... NO. Maytag spends millions of dollars in advertising... Built Strong to Last Long but they cant spend several hundreds to keep customers. Will never buy a Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid or any other related company product ever. Their motto should be Built Weak to Last Weeks.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot on 5/17/11. It would run, then not run. It spoiled all the food not in the freezer and most of the food in the freezer. This happened early November, being less than six months old. My wife called on 11/8/11, they repaired it on 11/18/11. Ten days of no refrigerator and a lost of about $200 in spoiled food. The company would not pay for any of the money I lost for the spoiled food!

We purchased a Maytag brand thinking it would be a quality long lasting machine. Wrong, the washer shakes from day one, We complained to Lowes, they brought out and installed a second unit, it does the same. The clothes dont get clean, sometimes you can see the blue HE Tide still on the clothes (sheets) after cycle is complete. Junk, waste of money, Ill never buy another Maytag product again. Dont waste your money on a Bravos Maytag top loading HE machine.

We purchased this Maytag top load washer less than three years ago. Spin cycle stopped working and repair for new actuator motor is $240 (machine cost $500). I should have read Maytag’s reviews before we bought it (averaging about 2/5). Living on name - don’t buy one.

Had side-by-side refrigerator for over 12 months - Went completely dead - Would need $500 work!!!!! Just got less 6 months. Now need filter for water and air filter!!!!!! I wish I can give it less than one star!!!!

First Maytag washer we bought in 2003, worked flawlessly for 14 years, bought a new one in 2017 only because my wife wanted a bigger washer. Bought a Maytag top load MVWB765FW0. What a big mistake. In less than 3 years it has failed already. The water inlet valve went bad. Maytag offers no tech support because they want to charge you with a service call. I found out what was wrong by researching the problem and error code online and bought the part for $55.00 and fixed myself instead of them charging $100.00 just to show up at your door plus the part and labor. A washer failing in less than 3 years is totally unacceptable and I will never purchase another Maytag/Whirlpool product ever again. Someone needs to wake up at Maytag.

So I get the matching set washer and dryer when I moved into my new house. I thought I was getting a nice set. I paid around $1600 for them with the sale they had going on. From day one the washer wouldnt get a full size comforter wet on the bulky cycle or heavy duty cycle. I even tried the extra rinse cycle on both as well. I would have stop it mid wash and rotate the comforter. Clothes wouldnt settle sometimes and would leave the top dry and bottom soaking wet. In the first year the lid latch started going bad. So sometimes you would go back to realize the load hadnt even started. Clothes dont get clean no matter what setting you use. It is the worst purchase Ive ever made. The dryer was ok until its almost second year. It just stopped drying it seemed. I cleaned EVERYTHING! No effect. It takes 3 full cycles at minimum to dry clothes. I cant understand why these machines arent pulled from the market or recalled because they are junk.

Maytag french door fridge model MFF2558VEW7. I bought this fridge about 3 years ago. Have had nothing but problems. First I had problems with the freezer frosting up, then I had the same problem of ice buildup in bottom of freezer. Now the freezer only gets cold enough to cool drinks and the fridge only gets to about 60 degrees. This is not the only Maytag appliance I have had problems with. I bought a dishwasher a few years ago that quit working just after the warranty ran out. Both bought from Home Depot. After reading other reviews, it seems that appliances bought from Home Depot have had problems too.

Never dies, never have had to have it serviced. House burned down is reason why it died. So I rebuilt, bought another one, then moved took it with me, then left it with my daughter and moved to Mexico. The dryer is still working to date and this all happened over 10 years ago. I sooo want another one. Best brand period. I only buy Maytag as they last. Unfortunately I do not have one now as they were unavailable in this country so bought something different. I was told the machine I have currently was as good as a maytag - they lied. I recently found out they have them now, so when I can afford one again, I will purchase one.

Like other reviewers, I am having issues regarding the control board panel for MAYTAG Dishwasher Model Number MDB7749SAM0. The unit was less than 3 yrs old when the control board panel malfunction issue began. I feel like this is a manufacturing defect and the company should be responsible for repairing/replacing the control board panel. I contacted Maytag numerous times regarding this, but customer service continues to tell customers there is NO warranty after one year from purchase date, and they are saying there is no recall or other reported issues regarding the Maytag’s control board at this time. However, I have found numerous online complaints and reviews about the very same issue I am having and same poor customer service. Since MAYTAG does not seem to care about their customer’s concerns regarding their product breaking in I feel that the only solution is DO NOT PURCHASE MAYTAG dishwasher brand again. I have had other brands last much much longer than this one did.

I purchased a Maytag washer 5 months ago. I noticed the washer was not putting enough water in the machine to cover my clothes, and at the end of cycle my clothes would be all tangled up. A repairman looked at it and said there was nothing he could do. Do not buy this washer. It is a lemon. I even spoke to the main customer service representative, he was the most arrogant man I have ever felt with. He basically said deal with it. I want. I want my money back so I can purchase a washer that actually works.

Bravos XL Washer and Dryer (Maytag) is the worst appliance set ever. Not enough water in the bin, residue despite using the correct detergent, and clothes which do not even get fully wet during the wash cycle. I am so sorry I purchased this pair - I do like the heavy duty spin, and the dryer does dry (but the door clasp has somehow come loose and stopped working - has to be wiggled into place every time I close the door). The really frustrating part is the low water levels (and even bulky is less than a half a bin of water. I am attaching a photo with two sets of sheets, a towel and three wash cloths). Most cycles only put about two inches of water in the bin - appalling. And the long long long cycles - what is energy-saving about having to do a load twice and using more than an hour for one cycle? I wish I could adjust the water levels. Seriously disappointed in this duo. Sorry I wasted my hard-earned money on it. I was seduced by a pretty exterior.

I give the product lowest and poor rating. The bearing in our washer went bad 4 months after we bought it. For the fourth time, they are coming out to repair the washer on 01/11/2012.

Maytag Dishwasher Model MDB 7749SAM0 - Bought this dishwasher from Lowes in 2012 for my daughter and son-in-laws new home. Thought I was making a good choice with Maytag. Wrong. Same control board problem that everyone else is having. Wiring ribbon is corroded and shorted. Why is this not a re-call? I will call Maytag and Lowes and complain, but likely will get no justice. Sounds like I should just bring this machine to the dump and take my losses.

My Neptune dryer purchased in November 2005 had the drum crack at about three years old. I complained so much that they finally agreed to send a replacement drum for free. Now, two years later, the drum has cracked again and tore through the housing on the front of the dryer. The repairman said it would be too expensive to repair. Consumers, beware.

Sounds wonderful. Thats what I thought when I let my son have my 20-year-old, still running older washer. I wanted a new one. It worked good for 3 years and then one night I went to throw the clothes in the dryer and its full of water. After the last rinse and spin, it filled again and stopped. So I tried it on every cycle and got the same results. I thought, No problem. We have a great, honest repairman. Ill call him the next day and hell fix it. When I called and told him what type of washer it was, he was surprised it was working at all. Seems they had a problem with water leaking into the transmission. Apparently, I was lucky that mine had worked for as long as it did. Like I said, Im lucky to have an honest repairman. He told me he could charge me to put in a new timer and solve that problem, but I shouldnt waste my money since it is just a matter of time before it goes bad. Seems they were all bad and Maytag never made good on them. Told me the smartest thing to do would just to go ahead, bite the bullet and get another. It will be here Tuesday morning. Hopefully, this will be the last one I have to buy (keeping my fingers crossed since I had hoped the Maytag was going to be the last). My old machine is still running great for my son. Over 30 years my repairman has had to fix quite a few things for me - ice makers, dishwashers and even a timer on my old washer. Thank goodness he was honest enough to not fix my washer. I dont know if there are even any Maytag products around now, but if there are, they will never get my business. I spent a fortune on a machine that should have lasted the rest of my life. Ive had childs toys that lasted longer. My advice is do not buy Maytag.

I have been using washing machines for 50 years. This is by far the worse piece of engineering I have ever used! On deep water wash, I would expect my clothes to be covered by water. I actually have to add by hand, four buckets of water and even then the clothes just float on top. The agitator NEVER pulls the clothes down to the bottom of the tub, they just move back and forth. The clothing that sits on top of the water, never gets totally submerged and is still on the top of the pile when the wash cycle is done. I will NEVER buy any MAYTAG product again. Lowes wont help me. I want to sell it, but in all good conscience, I cannot unload this on another person. I cant even feel good about donating it as it does not work...It is Junk!!!! Shame on Maytag for selling a scam. If there was any integrity in this company, someone would contact me and give me a better model.

We bought our Maytag dishwasher because of the topnotch features; such as 10 year warranty, low noise level, maximum cleaning power and it looks great. The dishes come out exceptionally clean and don’t needs to be rinsed prior to putting them in.

Maytag Washer over 3 years old. Often problematic not functioning smoothly! Maytag invented this defective machine to intentionally rob the customer with all the probs that comes with it - poor design & quality, & not logistically programmed! This machine(Bravos XL Washing Machine) was highly recommended to me at the Home Depot by a sales associate. I broke down and took the recommendation. Oh how I regret that! This is a terrible washing machine. It does not put enough water into the machine to even cover the clothes halfway. It ties the clothes in knots! I made a terrible mistake when I purchased this!

Im told even though my fridge is leaking water and making sizzling sound nothing can be done and my model number and serial number match the recall for this product and I was told that if my fridge catches fire then, Call us but to me thats ridiculous.

I purchased and installed a high end MAYTAG above the stove microwave. After 3 years of light use I hear an electric cracking sound and it dies. Of course no warranty coverage. Model MMV5208WB-1. I have to conclude MAYTAG builds junk and does not stand behind what they sell.

Model MWVC360AW0 has never done a decent job cleaning. Washing pods would not dissolve completely. Ruined a lot of clothes. Had to rewash many times. This is a piece of junk. Extended warrant folks at Home Depot no good either.

Maytag Jetclean EQ Plus Dishwasher - We purchased the dishwasher in June of 2014. Recently the control panel decided it wont work. There is power to the unit. I am told that the unit is no longer in warranty so we have to pay for everything.

I would like to start with, my Mother had always used Maytag washer and dryers. Her machines would last 20 years or more. I bought a Maytag front loader washer and dryer in 2006, since owning these machines have spent in upwards of $1400 in repairs. Some being flood out of tub, mother board blow out a couple of times as well as various other issues. The biggest problem is the awful smell of our clothes, I must wash clothes multiple times to try and remove these smells. I tried contacting Maytag and they dont want to hear my complaints and push me off to purchasing another washer and dryer. Oh, I will be buying a new washer and dryer it just will not be Maytag. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT buy another Maytag. This is not the same company my Mother knew and trusted.

I would not recommend a Maytag front load washer to anyone. I bought a Maytag Maxima 4 years ago and it looks like its not even available any longer so Im writing my review on a similar machine because after much research Im finding that all the Maytags have a similar issue. I have an MHW7000XG1 model large capacity washer. After 4 years the MCU went out and the cost to repair is $500. I looked up the error online and sadly there are so many others with the same problem. I had always thought that Maytag was built to last, however, after lots of research I am finding that 3-5 years is all you get before either the MCU or CCU (or both) have to be replaced. After replacement most people get another few years and then it has to be replaced again. By that time I could have purchased a brand new washing machine. The appliance repair company told me to get a Speed Queen. Thats the washer/dryer he has. They are built to last up to 20-25 years. Im a single mom and cant afford to repair my washer or buy a new one so it looks like Ill be doing laundry at relatives house for a while. Terrible product and definitely not worth the $1500 I spent on it 4 years ago.

MAYTAG BRAVO QUIET SERIES 400 - Do not buy. Piece of junk. I have bought Maytags for years, but they really messed up on these. First I had a new dress in the washer... It ripped it all the way down the back. Last month my dryer went out. It was the heating element. When the Maytag opened up the dryer, all the lint had been going into the dryer casing instead out to the vent. The whole inside of the dryer was packed with lint... It was around the motor and was a major fire hazard. The Maytag man said it was the worst he had seen in his 30 years. This month my washer starts making real loud noises when it spins. Sometimes I have to run it through another spin. Then it just quit. It wont do anything at all. You hear the motor like it is hung... It just hums. You have to unplug it to get it to stop. Maytag repairman said it was the bearings ($300.00 at least) and the computer board had gone out. The repairman said it would cost more than to just go buy a new one. The Maytag repairman himself told me whatever you do, do not buy another Maytag... Now that is sad!!! I grew up with Maytag. My mothers washers lasted at least fifteen years. This is my fourth and last set of Maytags after these!!!

I am a WWII vet. I bought a Maytag dishwasher 4 years ago from Home Depot... Cost me $600 in total repairs. Maytag would not help. My son just brought it to the dump! At that same time I bought a Maytag bottom freezer from Home Depot... It has never worked right. Ice dispenser broken after 1 year, food freezing in fridge at any temperature... It just died! Maytag refuses to take any responsibility for THIS POS!They should be ashamed at the way they treated me. I am 94 years old, and have fought for our freedom, and was looking for one simple thing from this American company. Its called fairness! Maytag sucks! You have lost a lifetime customer. You have lost my son as a customer, and will lose anyone I talk to, as well as my son posting on ALL social media! SHAME ON YOU MAYTAG! SHAME ON YOU MAYTAG!

After 2 years the oven didnt work. I had a repair fix it for $500 but if I wanted the convection to work it would cost another $800. Obviously not worth it. Now the oven needs to be set at 400 if I want then actual temperature to be 350. Now the latest - the racks are too small and falling! I just put my Le Creuset in the oven and the rack fell. Splashed everywhere! This happened at Christmas with my turkey. So bought the fridge - everything in the back freezes. Never ever buying Maytag again. Im guessing the Maytag repairman isnt lonely anymore.

This is the best microwave that we have ever purchased. I especially like the baked potato choice. Its also very easy to use and clean. I would definitely recommend it.

This washer is a piece of expensive junk. It was used sparingly (2 people using it) for 16 months when a repair service had to be called. The estimate to fix the machine ($980) exceeded the initial cost. It did not clean the clothes adequately when it was working. There was a powdery substance on the clothes when they were removed. The clothes were always bunched up and intertwined. Only the proper type and amount of soap was used. I cant recommend this washer to anyone. We were very disappointed since we have always purchased Maytag washers/dryers. Never again.

Fridge model mff2055drm00 - Purchased 2 years ago. Upon delivery and working water leaked from bottom. Called recommended service. Result took out fridge and brought in another new one. Today the fridge/freezer ices up, ends up sounding like a rocket ship. Not working efficiently. Called for authorized service. Was told needed a new thermostat... after TWO Years? Service call price $125, quote to purchase, replace and install thermostat $550. Almost $700. Big mistake buying Maytag- who knew? But never again! We are quite angry and very disappointed with the mediocre performance of this product.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial washer a few years ago. In my opinion it hasnt worked properly from the start. We went on the low end of price, because we spent a small fortune for GE products that broke after a year and a half. This Maytag hasnt been a much better experience. First it didnt drain and spin clothes, and I was told I was using too much soap. Cut back on the soap and it started working better and going through the full cycle but the clothes never felt or smelled fresh and clean. Now 2 1/2 years in, it doesnt complete the full cycle on its own, AND there is dirt in my washer after every load. My clothes come out with streaks of dirt on them. The picture below is of a pillow case I just took out of the wash! Ive cleaned the washer multiple times, but it doesnt drain properly so it doesnt help. Maytag charges a service fee just to come out and troubleshoot and charges you again to come and do the repair. Im running out of reputable companies these days with washers.

I have to agree with all these other reviews. This washer twists clothes and does not wash them at all. If you open the lid mid cycle you will see dry clothes on top... Isnt that the whole purpose of a washer? WTF. Steer clear of Maytag. Im so mad over my new purchase on the XL Bravo washer and dryer and Home Depot will not return. I have 3 kids and a hard working husband. My clothes do not come out clean no matter what cycle I use. It takes forever just to wash one load. If you spill something on your clothes and it dries crusty it will come out of the washer crusty. I want to cry. So much money wasted and cant get our money back. Would never recommend a washer without an agitator. Towels come out soaking wet, and dont spin dry if heavy...forget washing a blanket. 4th day using the dryer and now there is no heat. What was I thinking!! So mad and sad too!

This machine is not backed up by Maytag unless you purchase an extended warranty. I tried to contact Maytag regarding this machine breaking in less than two years. This machine has all the bells and whistles but dont expect to use them all because as soon as I used hot water or steam, it affects the lid lock assembly. This should be a recall from Maytag. They know it happens but arent doing anything to improve or remedy the situation. I was only able to use this machine with cold water after this happened. I spent more money getting this washing machine fixed than it deserved. Im so disappointed with Maytags customer service and their product.

We purchased this Maytag Centennial washer in 2009 (model # mvwc6esw/Wd; type 849-05; ser # cy1741855) and I have hated it ever since. I had an old 406 Maytag washer that was worth its weight in gold - repaired it as long as possible. I bought this new one because it was a Maytag and that was a mistake. The way it agitates my clothes get tangled and they never did that in the other original Maytag. We had to have it fixed not long after we got it and now every time I turn it on, it immediately starts to agitate on every cycle except hand wash, which it never did before. If I knew it agitated the way it did, I never would have got it. Good thing we bought an extended warranty for this machine. We have used it once already and it looks like we may have to use it again. I am very disappointed in this machine and your workmanship. The old machines were much better and more dependable.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL Commercial Washer on Jan.31, 2020. I have had problems with the control board twice in less than two years. To replace the control board it cost $560 plus dollars. I may as well get another washer. So, I have to buy two washers in less than two years, but the next one will not be a Maytag. I will not recommend their products.

I have a Maytag Neptune washing machine which had a mold problem on the rubber grommet. I have been trying to call Maytag to no avail. I researched and saw there was a class action suit for this very problem and I was never informed. The washer may pose a health hazard and I would like Maytag to do something about it.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator around 2 yrs ago. Ive had repair out a couple and tried to take care of this myself. I am being told by repair men that it is a design flaw that the line gets plugged and water pours out all over my floor. We bought a Maytag Bravo washer and after less than 6 months of use, it stopped working with an F51 or 53 error (cant remember which because its been a month now). After looking online, it seems that almost everyone who buys this gets this error and has to have a part replaced! And Whirlpool hasnt recalled the faulty part even though everything Ive read says it should be a recall.Its now taken over a month to get a repair person in to fix it. From the time we called Maytag, to the referral to the service person, to the service appointment, to waiting over 2 weeks for the part to come in, its been over a month with no washer. This is unacceptable Maytag! The repair company is finally showing up tomorrow only after 3 left messages from us.Either build a better washer or stock your replacement parts with the local repair companies and you should be reimbursing your customers whove spent a lot of money at the laundromat after spending between $700 and $900 on your washing machines.

I purchased a Maytag Legacy Series Quiet Series 300 in early July 2010. It had a recall for a heater part that could potentially burn down my house, so we couldnt use it while we waited for that part to be replaced. They offered me a small sum of money towards the purchase of a much more expensive dishwasher which I declined since Id only had the dishwasher a few months at the most. It is now the end of August 2011, a month past their factory warranty. The dishwasher did not get my dishes clean, made awful grinding noises and three days ago, it refused to drain and then spewed 50 or more gallons of water all over my kitchen which then leaked into the basement. The repairman charged $85 to tell me that the computer in the control panel had burned out and was not fixable. I think I paid somewhere in the region of $500 for this machine. My last dishwasher lasted about ten years. This is completely unacceptable. In searching the internet, I found hundreds, if not thousands of identical complaints. Clearly, this machine is a lemon and Maytag should be forced to replace it or better yet, refund the money spent to purchase the machine. Plus, pay for my valuable time spent mopping up water, washing dishes by hand, searching the internet for probable cause and potential solutions, waiting for Maytag/Home Depot to respond to my inquiries and a large sum for general annoyance. Maytag had a reputation of reliability (emphasis on had). Theyve got some slick ads but they do not stand behind their products at all. I will never by another Maytag product and I urge you to do the same.

We have been totally pleased with our Maytag Washer and Dryer BRAVOS XL units from day one. Their advertising is Spot On correct. Follow the directions for periodic cleaning and all is well. The only issue weve had is low water on some wash cycles. But these are Eco and Environmentally friendly units. So we learn how to use the machines for best performance. We would definitely purchase these again.

I called Sears to have a simple repair done to my Neptune washer and received a quote for $800.00++. They gave us a coupon to get a new washer at Sears and we did. Last week my dryer broke and I looked the repair up on Youtube. It looked real simple. A quote for $270 was given to us. Again a coupon if we wanted to buy new. It seems to me Sears jacks the price up on its parts and labor in order to push the customer to buy new. So far its worked for them and Im sure everyone else as well. Its not going to work out for Sears this time. Im no longer doing business with them and I will do the repair myself. I still got stuck with the service call but that will end as well going forward because I know now what the game is. Shame on you Sears. Double thumbs down for my Maytag Neptune washer and dryers.

Purchased this dishwasher 3 1/2 yrs. ago. Control panel went out. We would have had to pay almost the cost of new one to replace the part! Maytag used to be reliable. The dishwasher we owned previously (not Maytag) was still working after 12 years!

I own a Maytag MDB9150AWB dishwasher which isnt covered under current recalls. Yesterday, I heard a loud pop sound, and it stopped working (also popped the circuit breaker). After taking the door apart, we found burnt wires at the bottom of the door close to where they bend to go under the dishwasher.I called Maytag to find out if they would do anything, since this seemed like a defect in the materials used. They wont offer anything!

Had the new set for over a month now and are very impressed. If you actually know how to do laundry, and dont load it up to the top with greasy, dirt filled work clothes, etc. (like some **) you will have no problem lol. We have Absolutely nothing bad to say about Maytag products, and the new set is amazing!!!!

We bought a Maytag 2000 Series machine about 2 years ago. At first the machine worked great, as a new machine should. Then, after about 7 months water started pouring out of the top dispenser for detergent. I read the manual and looked online at the Maytag website for common problems. It said that sometimes small clothing gets sucked through the hose and needs to be unclogged. I followed the instructions to fix the problem. It worked fine for about 2 weeks later during the middle of a load the machine would stop and give me error codes. I looked these codes up and now I have another clog on the drain tube that needs to be fixed. Lo and behold these 2 problems have been continuing ever since. I cannot do a load of laundry without getting a code and having to take the machine apart. I called Maytag to explain my situation and the customer service representative said that because I fixed the problem myself at this point there is nothing that can be done. They do not guarantee that their equipment will work nor will they help solve the problem. I cannot believe that we spent so much money on something that I cant use. Not to mention the fact that when I do complete a load some of the clothes are ruined by the machine ripping holes in them. I would not recommend buying a Maytag because they dont care about customer satisfaction or the quality of machines they sell.

Recently purchased a washer from Home Depot. Machine is now on its 3rd repair. The wiring harness is fired. Could have caused a fire. Now they still will not replace and part is on order which will take 4 weeks to be in stock. I called Maytag and expressed my concerns to which they could not help me as every washer is theirs can be repaired. I really don’t understand what happened to making things right. Very frustrated that they will not repair or reimburse for that matter. Please refund my mom and pick it up.

I related my problems with a Maytag Bravos Washer a few days ago. A year and a half after I purchased the washer, it would no longer spin, among other problems. I was persuaded to call a repairman who diagnosed faulty electronic components which would cost me nearly $400 to repair. He confirmed that the washer was poorly built and strongly advised that I replace it. So, after paying him only $25 for a service call (he felt sorry for me), I did some research and bought a top-load agitator washer because the old-fashioned machines actually do their job - they wash clothes! I was duped by the high-efficiency claims, low-water-usage of the Maytag which didnt wash that well when it did work.

We bought a Maytag Dishwasher on March 16, 2013. Less than 10 months, we had repairman come in 5 times. First was soap scums left on the glasses after a wash. Then, the soap dispenser was leaking. Now the control panel is not working. We have to wait for a week for the parts to come in. Total length of time for hand washing dishes since we bought this dish washer is three weeks. They said they are not going to replace it until it cant not be repaired. What does that mean?? Please never ever buy Maytag dishwashers!!!!!

Every time I do a load of wash, it comes out looking like I slept in it. It is so wrinkled you cant even iron it all out. If the load gets off balance, you have to wring it out by hand because you cant get it to spin again. I did a load of flannel sheets and it went off balance, wringing sheets out by hand is enough to make a person want to send the machine back and get an old-fashioned wringer washer. I hate this machine without an agitator. I have always used a Maytag washer, but I would not recommend this to anyone.

First things first, Maytag Bravos washers are crap. Dont buy one. Purchased model # MVWB750WQ 06/12/2010 for $872.02 + tax. After 3.25 years the spin cycle started making extremely loud whining noises. Bought a replacement water pump for about $100 as several people were reporting the same issue. Before I had a chance to replace it the washer started leaking from under the washer. And not a small amount of water! Mats were getting soaked after each wash. I went ahead and replaced the water pump. But the whining noise, while diminished, didnt go away. And the leak continued. Based on what Ive read on this and other forums it looks like Ill have to replace the bearings for the tub. Not going to happen. Just ordered a Speed Queen washer for about the same price as the Maytag and I will never buy another Maytag (or Whirlpool) product again. Note that I purchased the Maytag at Best Buy. Its important that Best Buy take some of the credit for this issue as they are complicit in keeping these substandard products on the market.

DO NOT PURCHASE UNLESS you want dirty clothes that smell.... Water level not correct, binding laundry together and replaced the same parts with cheap parts over and over... just wanted clean clothes in a no frills washer. NOT with this washer. On August 25, 2011, we purchased a Maytag washing machine (Model Number MVVYC400XW2) at the Lowes Saugus, MA, store. Initially, we had no performance problems with it; however, on January 12, 2012, the washing machine wouldnt start. That day, I called Maytag for service on the machine, and it was fixed. Then on August 18, 2012, the same thing happened. A serviceman was called for the second time, and was repaired. Ironically, the Maytag 1- year warranty was expiring on August 24.Prior to the expiration of the Maytag warranty, I had been contacted by mail about an extended warranty plan, which I thought was being offered by Maytag, which it wasnt. The offer was being made by Federal Warranty Service Corporation. I purchased a 5-year extended warranty, expiring on August 25, 2017, the reason to have coverage for what seems to be a faulty machine. I would probably need it.Dealing with Federal Warranty has been nothing but grief. In 2012, the washing machine, had required 3 service calls, one with a Supervisor explaining my frustration with the number of service calls I have had made for the washing machine, but nothing has changed. Thus far in 2013, I have made two (2) additional calls for service on the same washing machine. Not only are there the numerous service calls made but the inconvenience of not having a washing machine, and the additional costs for outside laundering, during that time has to be taken into consideration. Additionally, my wife is 68 years old, and Im 71 (72 in August). Going up and down the stairs to the basement isnt something we should be doing, especially to find an inoperable washing machine.

MTB2656DEB - Well my fridge is now about 12 years old and from the beginning it was horrible ice as always forming under freezer door. The cold cut draw broke 3 times with its cheap junkie plastic. I hated it from the beginning. I have owned a GE double door with ice maker for 26 years. Wish I had kept it.

Neptune 4000 washer - Worst washer EVER! Two weeks after we bought it sounded like a jet engine during the spin cycle. They replaced the bearing parts. Only cost us 450 in labor. One year later, again the bearing but this time we insisted on full coverage. 6 months later, here we are again! Most expensive washer in the history of washers and this is a KNOWN issue - yet Maytag gets away with it while consumers foot the bill! Ridiculous! Never again will I purchase their product and make dang sure everyone I know stays away too and everyone that hears my washer is in shock that it hasnt injured something or someone. Its only a matter of time!

I purchased a Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer at Home Depot for over $900. Within months, the board went out. The repairman said that they didnt even know how to fix it yet - no training. The board was out again. This time, it was not under warranty. The repair costs $779 including part and labor. There were numerous other little problems along the way that we did repair, but now, forget it.

I inherited the Maytag Bravo washing machine when I got married... should have stuck with my LG! The Bravo does not clean clothes properly, I have to wash fewer items in each wash and wash them on the power cycle! Wasting time, water, and electricity! Will be purchasing a different brand!

Maytag, you are still trading on your good name but that will not last! I owned a Maytag, agitator style, for 20 years and it was still running just fine when we built a new house. I thought it would be wise to buy new appliances for my new laundry room so I chose the beautiful and expensive Maytag Bravos XL. I regret that decision. The washer lasted 4 years and began to have problems draining last week. The liquid that stayed in the washtub until the repairman could get here was so foul smelling! He came back today to replace the drain pump and now the washer is showing that the interface and CCU are not communicating. So now we are ordering another CCU and I hope this fixes the problem. I agree with all of you who say you will NEVER buy another Maytag again. Maytag, are you listening?

Maytag Centennial commercial technology washer - Bought what I thought would be a great washer given the Maytag brand about 3 years ago. Started out ok But has gotten progressively louder and noisier. We cant even hear the television on the next floor of the house when the washer is running ridiculous. Now it wont work at all. This is the second Maytag appliance in less than 5 years to stop working. The first was a dishwasher. I got 14 months use out of before the control panel burned out. Fixed it for $125 only to have it happen again in 6 months and repair company said parts are only 3 months warranty. Cost me $5 to bring to landfill. Now the matching Refrigerator is making a loud humming noise and Ive been told its the compressor.

In January 2006, we bought a Neptune washer and dryer, model# MAH5500BWW, because we thought they were superior to any other at the time. In January 2012, the washer started making a very loud noise in the spin cycle. It just kept getting louder and a technician was called in check out the problem. We were told that the bearing was going out and he found a hole in the back of the tub. He said it was not cost effective to replace the bearing and the tub and suggested that we continue to use it until we could no longer tolerate the noise. We are very unhappy with the durability of this washer, with the amount of money we paid to be going out only after 6 years of service. We have been a Maytag customer for 15 years and will never buy another Maytag appliance. We are going to replace the washer and dryer to keep a matching set and it certainly will not be a Maytag.

We have a Maytag Gemini Double Oven Range Model MGR6775ADW. This is a gas range and it was purchased in 2006. This past Saturday afternoon after cleaning the dishes, the igniters on the range starting ticking on their own. I checked to make sure the knobs were not on and they werent. The ticking finally stopped after about 2 minutes. After the ticking stopped, we planned on going out for a walk. Fortunately we didnt. In about 10 minutes after the igniters quit ticking, the range burst into flames. Flames were in the top oven and shooting out the vent holes and the holes where the knobs are located. Coal black smoke was also pouring out of the vents. I quickly pulled the stove away from the wall to prevent the cabinets from starting on fire and I pulled the plug to shut off electricity from the stove. The flames subsided shortly after pulling the plug. The kitchen and house smelled of burning wire insulation and plastic. After doing some research on the internet, I found out that many other people have had the same problem. I reported this to Maytag Customer Service and they wanted to send a repair technician to fix it. I told them I didnt want it fixed but wanted it out of my house. I told them I didnt trust the range since some people reported they had it fixed and the fire occurred again. I wouldnt be able to sleep or go out anywhere knowing that the kitchen range could erupt into flames at any time. The factory authorized repair technician, from A&E, did come to inspect the damage and to report back to Maytag on his findings. He admitted that he wouldnt even trust the range in his house. After paying $1300 for this range and only getting 6 yrs. of use, I feel that we deserve some restitution from Maytag on this badly designed and dangerous piece of equipment they have been selling. Do not buy the Maytag Gemini range. This is a bad and dangerous product.

This review is pretty simple, if you have kids, do not buy this washer! I just went to the local wholesale guy after almost 8 months of using this POS, and spent $200 on a older agitator machine, after the first load my 7 year old close came clean of dirt! There is literally no water and the motion of the drum, it is almost impossible for this machine to clean clothes. I really am surprised that no one has started a class action. And to anyone saying the are hog farmers and work outside and get dirty? I would love to see it first hand. I am going to post on YouTube and show what this machine really does. Think about this before you buy, We all get hooked on how big it is, thinking you can do 4 loads at once, but trust me the low water thing is real! How do you clean clothes with no water! You will regret this purchase. And I am a Maytager for life! So disappointing.

I bought a Maytag microwave in Feb of 16. Six months later, last August, it stopped working correctly (light doesnt come on, will not start, continually says open/close door to start). I have been trying for THREE MONTHS to have this fixed. Multiple calls to Maytag have resulted in nothing but empty promises. Calls to the store where we purchased it do no good - you have to call Maytag. We got 6 months use out of a Maytag microwave which we paid EXTRA to have installed. At this point I dont want it fixed. I want it replaced. The Maytag brand used to stand for durability and integrity; now it stands for badly made products and pathetic customer service. Look up my phone number on your computers, Maytag, and you will see all the efforts Ive made to get this fixed.

I had a Kenmore that lasted 20 years. This didnt last 5. Paid a lot of money for a disposable washer. Red in color on top of that. When I bought I did my research and had good reviews. Dont buy any new technology -- not enough data. This a POS. No more Maytag for me. Spoke to a repairman -- water leaking from the bottom and bearings are out -- was told it was a bad design. 951.00 -- energy guide said the annual cost to operate was 30.00 a year -- my calculation is 30.00 + 190.00 = 220.00. What a ripoff. Never a Maytag for me again. I only really needed a dryer but thought that I would update and just get a matching set for my women. Now we will be going back to an unmatched set. What a terrible purchase. Review says 5 star -- that is for the Consumer Affairs -- not the washer.

My Maytag washer and dryer (5000 Series) is about 2 years old. Just as soon as the warranty ran out, I started getting F35 and suds error messages. Information found on the internet tells me that many Maytag customers have experienced the same problem. Whats up with this Maytag? Since many of your customers have experienced the same problems, are you willing to meet the consumer in the middle by repairing the product at no cost or are you building the appliances to last as long as the warranty?

It is quiet and cleans well but thats where it ends. We have had it a little over a year now, after just a few months it started leaking, fixed under warranty. Now one of the upper rack tracks is broken, it was held together with three very flimsy welds, hopefully will be getting it fixed soon. We are going to wait and see what other kind of repair it will need, I think we would have been better off to just buy a cheap dishwasher!

We bought a new Whirlpool dishwasher, and it was a nightmare. So after four years of that we tried their sister company Maytags dishwasher. I have to say that I think these two old American brands have been ruined. This Maytag dishwasher is always making my dishes smell like rotten fish or a dead animal. I have to dump bleach and or vinegar down in the bottom constantly to keep the stink down. And I have looked and there is no food laying in the grinder. Then we started to lose wash cycles, and the buttons (not real buttons but a cheapo control panel) started to malfunction after 2 years. Now, 3 years into it the plastic adjusters in the top rack are broken, control panel has gone totally haywire, and still smells terrible. I remember when American appliances were sturdy and reliable because they were designed by engineers. Now they must be designed by accountants and shareholders. Goodbye Maytag and Whirlpool.

I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher (model #MDB4651awb3) for $300, in December of 2009. Seven months later, the dishwasher refused to start. Some lights on the front panel would remain on, while others would not respond. The Maytag repairman made a house call and replaced the front control panel, and vent. After the repair, the dishwasher worked fine for nine months. Then, the same thing happened again. It refused to start with the same front panel light problem. I called Maytag, and since the machine was now past the one year warranty, they wanted $275 for an additional 1 year warranty, to repair the machine. Since I can buy a similar new machine for $25 more, and felt this was now an ongoing problem, (it would be the third panel in less than two years). I expected Maytag to offer more to take care of their lemon problem. Since they refused to reconcile the situation, they obviously no longer stand by their machines. I will no longer buy Maytag/ Whirlpool machines, and do not recommend them.

This has nothing to do with the vendor. This is clearly shoddy workmanship on the part of Maytag. I bought this refrigerator in 2005 and already the compressor is gone. So therefore, I have to replace the whole unit.What kind of ** is this? You mean to tell me that you people cant find someone to build a compressor that holds up more than a few years? I have been trying to get my refrigerator repaired for over 5 months through the extended service plan I paid for. They sent out a service repairman. He could not repair the refrigerator without some parts so he ordered parts. We waited months to find out he can not get the part anymore that he ordered. So now Maytag Extended Plans and Service Power said they would have to replace the whole refrigerator but every time I call about it, they give me the runaround and say someone will be calling me back within 48 hours.I never get a call back. I give them a few days, then I call back and get the same runaround again. Im getting nowhere with these people. My refrigerator is a $6,500 refrigerator that Im sure they just dont want to replace or offer me anything for that matter. They should abide by the contract I have with them.

We used to own a Neptune Model. After always leaving the door opened and following the recommended monthly cleaning and many extra cleanings with diluted bleach and water, we could not get the smell out. We paid for a new seal, Advice from Washing Machine Repair service even though we paid a lot for an extended warranty. We had to pay for this ourselves. We also had our year to year maintenance. Because we could not fix the issue, nor would MAYTAG, we donated the set to donated it to Salvation Army.We decided to give MAYTAG another chance, so we purchased a brand new FRONT-LOAD WASHER and DRYER in 2014. As I would repeat the same regiment, I would notice little black specks, so I would clean it an extra time with Afresh. I have continued to this date, repeating the same regiment of keeping my washer clean and serviced as we should, I now have the whole tray dispenser spotted with LARGE black goo that smells. So I have continued to clean my Washer.After returning home from the Cleveland Clinic, I was ready to do our laundry from the trip, more black goo and smell coming from my Maytag front-load washer. My sister had stayed with my 86 year old mother and had wash a load of towels while we were gone. She left the door opened also as she was instructed many times, and that is how we found it. So I took the dispenser tray out as usual and bleached it and scrubbed it. As I did this I noticed bigger areas of goo. I looked in the dispenser housing and OMG it was covered with black mold. I am appalled that our $900.00 Washing Machine is like this. This IS BLACK MOLD, There is no way to remove this mold. I have the sides and bottom cleaned with bleach, BUT I cannot get into the multiple crevices.I called Maytag and I was initially told by a Maytag Customer Service Person said that it sounds like BLACK MOLD and MAYTAG COULD DO NOTHING! I asked to speak with a supervisor. At first she seemed a little put off, but as we talked she became more pleasant, I offered to send pictures or a video of the WASHER WITH THE BLACK MOLD and she said no. She told me to pour bleach into each dispensing compartment and the drum. Then run a wash with no clothes on all HOT WATER 2 times, then rinse 2 times and this should get rid of it and to also leave the dispenser drawer open a crack as well as the door after each wash.The Supervisor said ok and thanked her for her help. Then she said good luck and thanks for calling MAYTAG. Ive did and already do everything our Washer manual says to do on cleaning and maintenance of my expensive Maytag Washer and dryer. The manual says nothing about leaving the dispenser drawer open a little so it dries. The bottom of the housing looks great from doing this, along with me scrubbing it until 5:00 am with diluted bleach water. However, in the MANY SEAMS, CREVICES, THE SCHUTE AND POSSIBLY THROUGHOUT THE WASHING MACHINE IS BLACK MOLD that we cannot access without disassembling the machine and voiding our extended warranty.MOLD GROWS RAPIDLY and causes many illness. I already have an ongoing illness since childhood, I take care of my 86 year old mother, my husband just finished cancer treatment in January. We certainly do not need any other health issues. I called my local Appliance repair company and they said that they normally do not handle anything like this, but if my husband couldnt take the outside of the machine off then the top I could pay for a repair person to come out to take it apart then call and have them come back to put it back, pay them again to reassemble our Washer.I believe Whirlpool in its purchase of Maytag has taken a Monkey on its back. Maytag will do nothing, why should they? They already have their money from when we purchased our machines along with money from many other consumers who also have ongoing issues with their WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG Front-Load washing machines. It is undignified and deceitful how they treat their consumers with such disregard when we have filled their pockets by being loyal customers.Word of mouth is good or bad advertisement for any company. Everyone who has unresolved issues of any kind can write a formal complaint to the CEO and President of Whirlpool/Maytag. The address is on the internet. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for taking many consumers hard earned money, when apparently some of Whirlpool/Maytags money is ill gained by developing and manufacturing a consumer product that causes black mold and marketing it to sell to us, the consumer. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG. OWN UP!!! My advertisement begins today!!!

We bought a Maytag Bravos three and a half years ago. We always tried to follow instructions for the machine. Only used he detergent, used the affresh, tried not to overload the machine etc. Had to call a repairman. Our washing machine started leaking water at the bottom. Hoping that it is only a three machine it would be fixable. Bad news the repairs would be over $600.00. It needs a new tub seal and bearings. For a THREE YEAR OLD washing machine! The repairman and I had quite a talk about appliances. He said they just dont make them to last anymore and the companies such as Whirlpool, Maytag, etc. do on purpose and they get away with it. Stay away from Maytag Bravos. It is a worthless piece of crap. It will not last long. Now we have a three year old washing machine that does NOT work right. Something has to be done in this country to come down hard on the companies that make appliances. I would NOT recommend this piece of crap of a washing machine.

I purchased Model #MHW563HW Frond loading automatic washer a little over 1 year. The options are not for me. The quick wash is way too short 20 minutes, all the rest of the options are 51 minutes to 2 hours & 57 minutes! If you wanted to add some extra minutes to the Quick wash you are out of luck. Normal wash is 55 minutes but can last much longer, it takes forever for this machine to balance which adds time to the process.I had an LG front washer before this one and when the clothes came out they were almost dry, not this washer, they are very wet. Then there is the horrible odor that comes after you use it, Ive tried drying every area making sure there isnt a drop in it. Still the stench is unbearable. Yes it has a Clean Washer with Affresh option which takes an additional 128 minutes and you have to do it at least once a week! Thats a LOT of wasted energy. That just doesnt sound efficient to me, washing the washer. Why??? This washer had great reviews which I read, not one mentioning these issues.

I purchased the Maytag MDB8959SBS dishwasher back in 2014. I have historically been a Bosch guy when it comes to dishwashers but I have been so happy with my Maytag Maxima washer and dryer, I wanted to give their dishwasher a chance. Well, it has been a major disappointment, to say the least. For starters, it just doesnt clean that well. I am very careful in how I load a dishwasher. I do not put baking sheets across the bottom rack lol. Consistently we find dirty dishes. Then after about a 6 months, I noticed the paint on the adjacent cabinets were peeling in spots (near the top and bottom corners). I started feeling around the outside of the door during the wash cycle and there was a fair amount of moisture collecting around the outside of the dishwasher seal (or non-seal). Fast forward to about a month ago, I noticed a burning smell in the kitchen while it was running. Did the typical check the heating element routine thinking something fell down and was burning. However, it was perfectly clean. Emptied it completely and ran a totally empty load. The smell was still there. I eventually figured out the smell was emanating from the upper right corner of the door. Coincidentally this was right above the location of the control board. I grabbed a tool and carefully removed the front panel and discovered wires were melted (some fused together) and even the inside of the panel (which is plastic) was melted in spots as well.So yes, I could have contacted Maytag and sent pictures and fought with them over a repair but to be honest, I have no interest in keeping this appliance. It has been trouble since day one. Again, to be fair, I have had good luck with their other appliances but this was an awful experience and a total waste of money. I have since gone back to Bosch and could not be happier.

I purchased Maytag Bravos MVWX500XWO top loading high efficiency low water washer and it is a piece of junk. All my clothes came out horribly wrinkled and ruined a white jacket when I used the color safe bleach dispenser. I purchased the machine from Sears, where I purchased the extended warranty. I had an A&E technician out and he explained that the new technology of machines are expecting all clothes to be dried in the dryer. Okay, but what do you do with clothes that say hang dry and they come out so wrinkled and twisted that even an iron cant get the wrinkles out? Another suggestion from the technician, put the hang-dry articles in the fluff cycle of the dryer. Well, thats a big nugatory since they are supposed to hang dry them. Supposedly, this machine is all about energy efficiency but isnt it a contradiction when you are using more energy with running a dryer? Someone suggested to me that perhaps there wasnt enough water being dispensed during the spin cycle resulting in horribly wrinkled clothes. Either way, I am on my last nerve with this machine. I always thought that Maytag was an elite company. Well, how wrong I was! Their customer service is pretty much not customer-oriented. Its all about the almighty dollar. After speaking to a supervisor, she explained to me that I should contact Sears with my complaint that Maytag had no recourse. Well honey, Sears did not make the atrocious machine. They are just the so-called messengers. I have unfortunately found that once Maytag sells their horrendous product, they dont even stand by it. Now isnt that typical of companies nowadays and sadly, lacking with this company? Pride in their workmanship! And again, its all about the almighty dollar and who gives a ** about customer satisfaction? Maybe thats why they dont have the Maytag repairman. He was ashamed to be associated with this irreverent company.

Purchased a Maytag washer for my family of 8 because we do a lot of laundry and our Samsung washer failed after 3 years. I thought Maytag was a more reliable brand and was hopeful. The machine stopped working after less than 4 months of service. Manufacturers warranty repair came out and said it needed three new parts, motor, clutch and chip - said it would be another 2-3 weeks depending on parts. So all total without a washer for 4 weeks minimum - call the customer service people (first one was rude and short), 2nd one after 45 minutes on hold - told me the were no other options other than wait for the repair. Four months after a brand new washer and it failed. I requested a replacement option and they said no way. Their hotline talks about a positive customer experience and that seems to be a joke. Not helpful, super frustrated and they do not seem to care about the customer experience at all - terrible product and service

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. Maytag used to be a good name, but recommend you to buy something else.

2 major repairs in 8 years, ridiculous! We purchased a washer and electric dryer pair in Feb. 2012, had a repair for the control board (CPU) 4+ years under extended warranty, had another in 2018 for the same thing. I was told power surges could cause it, however I have a WHOLE HOUSE SURGE SUPPRESSOR ON THE INCOMING 200 AMP SERVICE AND KNOW THATS NOT THE PROBLEM!!! Had the same CPU go out again in Nov. 2020 so, rather than pay $370 for the part plus labor, we bought a top loading GE with an extended warranty and factory 10 years on the motor. We will never buy another Maytag product again. We were told that we shouldnt expect to get more than 6-7 years from a washer now, ridiculous. Manufacturers are outsourcing electronic boards overseas to maximize profit and could care less about quality control!!! Junk!!!

Pleased with all the features. I have had zero problems with this Maytag refrigerator; no problems with the ice maker; the crisper works well. The adjustable shelves are so convenient.

Bravo XL - This is the worst washing machine I have ever purchased! Loved it at first but after a year or so we couldnt wash a full load without error messages. Then we couldnt even wash one pair of jeans without an error message. Called to have it repaired and $300. Later the bearing was replaced and the washer worked wonderfully once again. Less than a year later and we are back to having a non functional washer. Cannot wash anything without the error message. Customer service is absolutely no help. For such an expensive washer and supposedly a good brand, this machine is a real disappointment.

This is a Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW. This machine has been repaired a couple of times already and it has a will of its own. When it goes into that fast spin cycle that will kicks in and it starts moving. I wonder if someday its going to attack me. So, last Friday night we put a load in and it went into that fast spin cycle. It was making a noise like an elephant in labor so I looked in the laundry room.... Clouds of smoke were billowing out of the top of the machine. Our house will filling up with washing machine smoke! My husband stopped it, but I think it was a gnats hair close to bursting into flames. He looked into the front of the machine when the smoke dissipated and the entire gasket was in shreds. No more Maytag. Never. Im done.

This washer has no agitator post and doesnt seem to clean as well as ones with agitator posts. I have heard that they are easier on your clothes though. The dryer works well enough, but I believe the control panel/motherboard needs replacing. The signal sounds even with the dryer turned off, which is startling to my dog and me. I reset it by flipping off the 220 breaker in the garage and leaving it off until the next time I do laundry!
