We purchased this washer from Sears. Its always been loud during spin, but the past couple months it has gotten VERY loud. It jumps around. Also, it tends to ball clothing and towels. It has been hard on my clothes and bedding. Many times I have to rewash towels and bedding, even jeans at times. I have been very unhappy with this purchase from day 1. It was not a cheap washer.

Bought this Bravo washer from a Sears Outlet Store. Had trouble the first 2 weeks and did all the troubleshooting to no avail. Just when I was ready to return it to the store I decided to try one more thing. The guys who hooked it up had reversed the water hoses - cold was hooked up to the hot intake, and hot water was hooked up to the cold intake. Took all of 5 minutes to switch the hoses to the correct intake and the machine works like a charm. MAKE SURE THE WATER IS HOOKED UP CORRECTLY.

Loading is easy, operation is extremely quiet, dishes are very clean even on normal auto wash cycle. White, integrated depress buttons, full size, removable utensil baskets, upper and lower racks, top rack is manually adjustable, stainless steel tub. White front which is what we want not the ugly old metal stainless steel, usage buttons are on the upward facing edge of the door, pull down handle is nice size and very sturdy. Model is MDB8959SBW3. Even on normal auto wash cycle dishes are clean without much pre-rinsing. Purchased 10/14 from local dealer and professionally installed. So far we love it.

After having issues with bearings in a front load of another brand, we decided upon a top load Maytag. We have had it less than a year and we are not happy with the performance. We are using more detergent because the dispenser seems to be bottomless. Only the front of the little pull out drawer is visible and it never seems to reach the fill line when adding liquid detergent. There is no quick wash cycle. Not everything needs a cycle of nearly an hour or more. The spin cycle does not remove nearly as much dampness/water as our previous frontload. The drum is deep making it difficult to retrieve small items such as socks. My biggest disappointment is finding lint residue on the clothing and it remains even after an extra rinse. This is especially visible on dark clothing. Even the lint filter in our dryer fills up much more quickly than before. After researching, I found that others complained of this same problem.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2006. Like another commenter, I also insisted on all Maytag appliances. What a huge disappointment. About four months into owning the microwave, a computer module had to be replaced. The microwave stopped working about six weeks out of warranty. It just stopped working, period. I was told by Maytag that they consider microwave a disposable product and they would not cover the repairs. It was cheaper to buy a new one than repair the old one so I replaced it with another brand. The dishwasher failed after 4.5 years (would not drain) and again it was cheaper to replace it than fix it. The oven range handle broke off (normal use) in August 2011 and that cost me approximately $200 for the part and the service call. The refrigerator has had two service calls for the ice maker to replace the motor. The first was covered by Maytag, the second by me. This occurred when the unit was approximately three years old. In August 2011, I had another $90 repair because the ice maker drain (?) was plugged and had to be cleared fixed. I have never been able to pay what I paid for these appliances. Prior to this, we always purchased a middle-range appliance and we never had problems like this.I will never purchase another Maytag product again. This is so disappointing. I live in MI and I wanted to support a MI business. Unfortunately, I wont be able to help out this particular company any longer. Dont buy Maytag appliances. It is a waste of money.

I purchased the Maytag dishwasher a little over two years ago (MDB6759AWQ0). This was the first Maytag product I bought and it is definitely the last one! It was more expensive, but because of Maytags commercials on what good products they had, I thought it would last longer and work better. Boy, was I wrong. When it was installed, it was loud. I brought this to the attention of Maytag. I was told there was nothing that they could do. Repair people were sent to my home several times to see if the noise could be fixed and unfortunately, it could not. This is the loudest dishwasher that I have ever had. I should have stayed with the same brand that was over 10 years old that died! Now the control panel blew out and will cost over $300 to have it fixed. After reviewing the numerous complaints that you have on your dishwasher with the control panels not working, I would think Maytag would be more financially responsible in helping the people that have your products that no longer work after being less than three years old. Just a heads up, Maytag, I will be replacing instead of fixing and not with another Maytag product!

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher MDB7609AWS2 in October of 2010. It first stopped working about 2 years ago. Since it was only 2 years old, we were disgusted and decided to let it sit and do dishes by hand. About 2 months after it had stopped, we tried it on a fluke and it worked. It stayed working for about 2 years. It finally stopped again, so we did the same thing, just let it sit. Every once in a while we try it to see if it works. It just recently started working again. We are wondering, what is up with this. We are not sure why or how the sitting works, and it is ridiculous that you have to have an appliance that you cant use periodically. We were too stubborn to have it fixed or buy a new one at this level of newness. We will get by in this manner for at least another few years, so as not to have lost all of our investment in a dishwasher, but we have sworn off Maytag appliances forever.

I contacted Maytag and they replaced it, but the next one did the same thing, and the next one! They replaced it three times and they have all done the same thing. Now they are refusing to do anything more because they say I must be using cleaner or something on the panel because I am the only one having an issue with this! I assure you I have not used any cleaner and there are only three people in my household so it doesnt even experience excessive usage! I know this problem isnt as extreme as some, but when you pay this much money for an appliance you would like to think it should last longer than this!

As with most other owners I am dissatisfied with the cleaning action of the machine. I suspect, that in an attempt to garner green bonus points, the engineers have tweaked the cleaning water amount to the absolute minimum that may do the job and lengthened the wash cycle to the point that laundry for two average adults is an all day affair. Only get a decent washing job if you make very small loads. If you put a set of king cotton sheet in the machine, you will find that the machine manipulates them into the shape of your compact spare tire, and when you take them out... you will find many sections where the water did not reach... bone dry! Reload, rewash, ground hog day with each load. Cant wait for it to throw a bearing so I can get something else.

Maytag side-by-side fridge with water/ice dispenser (Model # MSD2572VEW00)
Maytag side-by-side fridge with water/ice dispenser (Model # MSD2572VEW00) was purchased in 2011. Mechanically, fridge is working, however, every piece of plastic inside the refrigerator section (the regular glass shelves with plastic rims, vegetable bins, and door ban shelves) are all cracking and falling apart. Additionally, the buttons on the ice/water dispenser fell off, exposing the actual buttons on the panel. All three of the regular sized shelves have severe cracks in the plastic that affect the sturdiness of the shelf. Both vegetable drawers are badly cracked, falling apart and one doesnt even stay secure on the track. Even all three of the door ban shelves are cracked with fractures along the sides and bottom. Weve resorted to putting clear packing tape just to hold the shelves together. We contacted Whirlpool, who owns Maytag and because our fridge is 4 years outside of the 1 year warranty, they could do nothing for us. In over 30 years of owning refrigerators, this is the first time Ive seen every shelf and bin crack the way this fridge has and in less than 5 years no less! Whirlpools solution to our issue was to send my call to their Parts Department. The total cost to replace all the cracked shelves, bin drawers plus the ice/water dispenser panel is $702.28. No thanks, thats as much as a new fridge. Whirlpool should be utterly ashamed of their total lack of Customer Satisfaction by distributing such a piece of junk. Who would have thought that an appliance costing a couple hundred dollars would be considered as disposable as an aluminum pan and in only 5 years! One thing is for sure, I will certainly think carefully again on ever buying another Whirlpool product again since they are so apt to take my money only for me to repurchase an expensive appliance again in less than 5 years.

Bought this Range in March of 2019. I really liked the large oven in it. Right away I noticed that the oven didnt back things very uniformed and very quickly, so a lot of burnt cookies. But I adjusted to that, not super happy about it but it was fine. Tuesday while cooking the cooktop suddenly went out. I had been smelling something strange the last couple of times I had cooked with the oven and cooktop on so I just assumed it was the oven, it did need to be cleaned. Well I ended up pulling the range out from the wall and taking the back metal piece off...the wire running to the cooktop was burned, like 3 inches up the wire and also the wire coming into that wire on the range cord. Just destroyed. I was shaking. My house could have burnt down.I just attempted to call Maytag, knowing my warranty is up (1 year) but thinking they should know about this issue. I was told that they would need to send out a certified tech would need to come out to access the situation...ok...when are they available and she said the 29th of December, really? How many people can go 3 weeks with no oven? I take care of my 93 year old neighbor and make dinner every night. So obviously I cannot wait. I have a tech coming today to fix this fire hazard. I was told there was nothing that can be done as it was not under warranty anyway. What so your certified tech was going to come out for free and then charge me what I probably paid for the range to fix it.

My dishwasher like many others have mentioned is experiencing the same control panel issues. When I set it to Wash, it spontaneously goes to Rinse Only. I am unsure exactly the age, but given the number of complaints Ive read, with the same problem, it seems as though, there was a flaw many years ago in design and regardless of issues hasnt been resolved with the newer models either. I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. I started having problems with my dryer 3 months ago and after several service calls (and a few hundred dollars), it still does not dry our clothes. I spent over $1500 for the pair and was excited to have a top end washer and dryer. My biggest complaint is with the manufacturer, Maytag - they just dont seem to care. I did not buy the extended warranty for two reasons. First, I bought a nice unit and expect it to work properly for a reasonable amount of time (at least 4-5 years without any problems). Second, they are just a bad purchase and they cost about half of the unit and if you buy a nice unit, you shouldnt need one. I could have bought a new dryer for what I spent to try and have this one work properly. My wife and I spent $600 for our last set which lasted 7 years without a problem; they were manufactured by GE, which I now wish I would have bought another GE. My wife talked me into buying a new pair to accommodate the needs of our growing family. I wished I would have kept the GE pair that was working.I would not recommend any Maytag appliance: they really just dont care to provide any reasonable service to stand behind their products. What a shame. This reminds me of why many foreign manufacturers are beating us at what we used to do best - make products that last and work! The washer and dryer look nice and have many great features, but these dont matter much if they dont work.

I bought model MDBM601AWB3 in October of 2009. The control panel and wiring harness burned in August of 2011 after, at the most, running twice a week. I called customer service and talked to numerous people. All said, Too bad, out of warranty. I did a quick Google and learned it is a common problem and even a fire hazard with Maytag dishwashers. My wife, who was being treated for lung cancer at the time and was very emotional, got a hold of someone in corporate and literally cried that we could not afford the $600 to fix a problem they knew it had when they sold it to us. They relented and agreed to pay for parts; we pay labor. Today, 1/10/13, the control panel is dead again. I suspect it is the same problem as all they did was replace the panel and wires. This machine has obvious dangerous design flaws that they were aware of. I find it sad that a company can screw people like this and get away with it. What recourse do we have now?

We purchased this dryer a Maytag Model MEDC200XW3 about 10 months ago. The dryer slowly over time began to take longer to dry our clothes. After watching it work and seeing that the airflow in the tube was not flowing well, I noticed the lint trap was not functioning well enough and over 50% of the lint was escaping the lint trap and plugging up the exhaust vent. I asked Maytag for a service to repair my dryer and explained my findings. The service person on the phone wanted to send me a lint brush. I told her to send a repairman. The repairman said that all lint traps let lint by and said it was my problem. Well today theyre closed and I cant even leave a message. I purchased Model #MGR7661XB (Gas Cooktop and Oven) in November 2009. From the very beginning, we realized it was a mistake and looking back, we should have sent it back. The finish, both on the stove as well as the burner racks (the removable grate that the pan sits on when cooking) has some sort of coating that instead of repelling grease and food seems instead to actually attract it. Any hot liquid or grease actually seems to melt into the finish and becomes impossible to remove. Essentially, our stove was ruined within the first week. We have even tried putting a scouring pad on a wooden spoon and scrub with as much force as we can muster - to no effect. Short of using a putty knife, and completely destroying the finish, I cant think of any way to resolve it.As for Self-Cleaning ... yeah, right. Use for entertainment purposes only. It doesnt clean at all.The latest issue is now the oven lights about 20% of the time. The broiler still works and we have discovered that we can trick the stove by allowing the broiler to heat up the stove to about 200 degrees first - then, when the oven is already hot, the oven part will ignite.Speaking of igniting ... from the beginning, this stove has the loudest ignition system I have ever heard. You can hear it ignite click/pop from two rooms away and the oven cycles on/off every 10 min. or so. It is very annoying. All I can say is, never again will I buy another Maytag. This was supposed to be the upgraded sealed burner model (which also is impossible to clean). This stove is only 4 years old but it was a mistake from the beginning. Like I said, I should have returned it after the first week.

I called customer service to ask if there was some way that Maytag could assist me with repair of this like new dishwasher. When I said it was out of warranty and I had no additional warranty, I was told that a repairman could come out for $110 and diagnose the problem and that parts and labor would be extra. I explained that I had purchased Maytag because I saw commercials, for years, showing that Maytag repairmen had no work. She was very unhelpful and kept droning the same mantra, that a repairman could come out for the above charge. I was very angry and asked for the name and address of the President of Maytag so I could send a letter of complaint. I composed a letter, however: it is Thanksgiving time and I need my dishwasher so I made an appointment to have it repaired. I was told he would be out Mon. between 8 and 5. I asked for a more specific time and was told that I would get a call on Sat. with the time. Thankfully, no call came, because on Sunday, I read the reviews on this site and realized that Maytag was no longer a reliable nor a responsible company and I decided to save myself money and time and stress and just go out and buy a GE. So we will hand wash the dishes on Thanksgiving and buy a GE on Black Friday. This does not mean that I am letting Maytag off the hook. I intend to send my letter to Jeff Fettig at Maytag and also join in the class action suit. Just replaced a washer that lasted over 7 years thru 3 renters with the Bravos top loading washer. There is nothing efficient about a cycle to take 73 mins to wash 20 articles of clothing (t-shirts, socks and underwear). The machine dont wash the top of the load. Also the deep clean feature isnt deep cleaning. I recorded a video of 20 mins of the machine not washing properly before going into rinse cycle. If this item dont produce refunds of the amount of water wasted RE-WASHING and electricity because it doesnt clean on first wash, then its time for Maytag to pay my utilities. For the money spent on the machine, going to the laundromat every other week with 1 roll of quarters each trip comes to be I can wash for 4 years and will outlast the longevity of the machine before it breaks! Also bulky mode is how you get more water in the machine but will take 63 mins to wash.

I purchased Maytag French door stainless fridge 5 years ago for $2200. The doors were out of alignment and I put in new control board; both items almost right away. Then in May 2011, we had to replace another control board for about $400. Then in July 2011, the compressor went out at a cost of $300 for the compressor, $350 for labor. I called to Maytag, Gwen agreed to pay for the compressor but not the labor to put it in. So we now have about $1400 invested in our $2200 refrigerator. Letters to Maytag CEO Mr. Fettig remain unanswered. Do not buy a Maytag appliance!

I wrote earlier about my dishwasher needing to have an electronic board replaced again. So I called the helpful (I say that with sarcasm in my voice) 800 number. My dealer asked me to call for help with paying for the new part. After an hour and a half of being cut off and put on hold, I finally got through to a person that could take my request. The gentleman explained to me about why they would not stand behind their product which was only 3 1/2 years old, and a replacement part that lasted only 11 months. He expanded on his thought about how it was too old to fix and the part was more than 90 days old. I am out of my $1,100.00 with no help in sight. Totally upset with this company and how they will not stand behind a poorly made product!!!!

I, like SO many other people, am experiencing problems with a relatively new Maytag dishwasher. Mine is Model MDBH979SAB1. I have owned the dishwasher for 4 years but use it 6 months of the year and, because I live alone, maybe twice a week. In effect, it has the equivalent of less than a year of normal use. My problem is the same as countless other people. I can tell from how it behaves that it needs a new control board. I find little comfort in the fact that I one of several thousand people experiencing a problem with a newer Maytag appliance. What concerns me, after reading many negative reviews and seeing Maytags response, is that Maytag does not seem to care. We need to get the word out. We need a massive boycott of Maytag. We need to hit them where it hurts: in their bottom line. Since they seem to be content to continue to put out defective products, the only way to protect consumers is to put Maytag out of business.

The bleach dispenser will dispense bleach BUT it is full of water after each use. The dispenser is flushed with water by the machine at the engineered time in the cycle. The warranty service companies want me to pay around $300 ($100 + $70/ hr) for them to work on it. I have to use a measuring cup and pour water into the dispenser until it begins to siphon out. Stop pouring, and the dispenser will be empty for the next addition of bleach. The washer is allowing water to partially fill the dispenser AFTER the bleach has been flushed/siphoned out into the load of clothes. If the flush water were completely shut off after flushing operation, the dispenser should be empty.

At that same time I bought a Maytag bottom freezer from Home Depot... It has never worked right. Ice dispenser broken after 1 year, food freezing in fridge at any temperature... It just died! Maytag refuses to take any responsibility for THIS POS!They should be ashamed at the way they treated me. I am 94 years old, and have fought for our freedom, and was looking for one simple thing from this American company. Its called fairness! Maytag sucks! You have lost a lifetime customer. At this time, it does not spin out as well as it used to, but I just fluff the load and spin it again and then it is ready for the dryer. I have been very pleased with the set and have never had to have a repairman work on them. Cant ask for more than that!

I bought a Maytag dishwasher just 15 months ago. Worked fine for the first 12 months. Then literally, a few short weeks after the warranty expired, the buttons on the control panel started acting up. The normal button, when pushed, would light up the delay hours. The light cycle would make the rinse only come to life. It was beyond frustrating. My husband would unplug it to reset it and that worked for two weeks but now, nothing. It wont work at all. Im FURIOUS, considering we spent $450 on this thing and now its useless. I had a Kitchen-Aid that I loved but due to cost, decided to get this hunk of junk. I learned my lesson..Maytag, you should be ashamed you make such horrible products.

Neptune washer maxima XL steam - Our machine is only 2 years old and we feel the soap dispenser is defective. That little door inside to choose either liquid or powder is not flush with the basic cup and to make matter worse, there is a V shape hole at the bottom of that little door. Meaning, fill it up, and while you are looking for the softener in your closet, all the expensive liquid HE soap is on your floor! And when you close the door, if you wait for starting the load, all the soap goes into that rubber gulley instead of being sent over the clothes. I just got off the phone with them, they wanted to send a technician AT MY EXPENSE - when I do feel it is a deign mistake, not a use/abuse on my part. I proposed instead to send them a picture. They refused. I proposed to send them the soap drawer, they refused as well. I will never buy Maytag ever again and dont recommend to anyone to go to this Brand name!

I purchased a Maytag French door refrigerator (model MF12569) two years ago. The bottom drawer freezer does not work well. Apparently, the inner tubing of the freezer clogs and it creates huge puddles of water. My floor got damaged and I keep calling Maytag and all I get is their apologies. I purchased an extra warranty which will expire on the third year. I am really disappointed with their product. I see why there are so many complaints filed and what makes matter worse is that they dont seem to acknowledge the problem. Apologies do not cut it. Maytag Centennial eco conserve clothes washer - I purchased a Maytag (non-agitating) washer, (model MVWC400XW) just about a year ago and I cant tell you how dissatisfied I am with this product. It does not clean the simplest of soil from garments. I have actually had clothes come out of the washer after a complete wash cycle, with dry clothes. They recommend putting soap in first, at the bottom of the washer and then load clothes; I have had clothes come out stained as a result the clothes sitting on top of the soap. I am requesting that I be able to return (have this washer picked up) from my home and replaced with a washer with an agitator or a compatible washer that actually washes clothes. I believe that this may qualify as a lemon with regards to California lemon laws.

Purchased Maytag washer Centennial Econoserve washer. It was 2 years old Aug 2013. Washer stopped working Sept 16, 2013. Of course since it had Maytag name brand, I did not purchase extended warranty due to thinking it would at least last more than several years. I called Maytag/Whirlpool. They gave me name of authorized repair in our area. So far they have come out 2 times. $560.00 later, it is still not working and they have no answer as to how or what to do. We are now into $1300.00 between purchase and repairs and still no washer. We are retired hard working people and this is really a bad way to treat consumers. Maytag customer service could care less about the situation. They just say we should have purchased extended warranty.

We moved into our first house just over two years ago and decided we needed
We moved into our first house just over two years ago and decided we needed to get a new refrigerator. We did a ton of research online, reading reviews, etc. We found a few not so great complaints regarding Maytag; however, we took our chances. (Note that we live in a house built in the 40s, so the fridge space is small and we needed a fridge size that is smaller than normal. We didnt have many options.) Well, a little less than 12 months later (yes, luckily right before the warranty expired) our ice dispenser stopped working properly. The mini-ice door would not close properly, resulting in a lot of frost in where the ice door was located. (There was so much we couldnt open the freezer door. It would get stuck.) So, we called out the repair guy and he said he had never seen this issue before and basically had to replace the whole flap and parts. Sweet. It was fixed and cost was covered! Well, about 5 months later, it happened again! Ah, they got it fixed yet again. Well, another six months later and after the warranty expired (lucky us), the fridge completely stopped cooling. (And it just happened to be Halloween, not a great day for a house issue.) So, we had to remove all our perishable food and place it in a cooler (which works hundred times better than Maytag products), and move all frozen food to a family members house 15 minutes away (luckily!). We were also super lucky we found a repair company that could come out at 5pm the next day, which happened to be a Friday! Awesome company (Conners Repair in Metro-Detroit). He concluded the defrost board was broken, meaning it was freezing and creating frost and then not defrosting, clogs the vents and not allowing circulation to occur. He was shocked when he found out we only had this fridge for 2 years and said this is something that normally happens in 20-year old fridges. I then decided to call Maytag and nicely requested a refund for the issue. I was told no due to the warranty expiring and also because we didnt use a Maytag repair company. I didnt want to wait a week as I thought this was something that needed immediate attention. I also am not sure why it matters who you get to fix your fridge. I have an invoice for proof of the issue and the repairman even said hed call to verify the issue. I don’t understand why I have to pay for something that was not properly produced, and not to mention the time out of my schedule to deal with Maytags issues. I now know not to buy any Maytag products due to the lack quality. I guess I learned the hard way.

We purchased at Home Depot on 5/12/2012 a Maytag dishwasher model MDBH979SAM. The following November it started not working correctly. We had to fiddle with the cancel button to get it to work at all. It just kept on getting worst to where it would not function at all. We called Maytag service. They set up a service call with a local warranty service provider who ordered a control board and a week later came and installed. No charges at this point. Now, here at the end of August 2013, out of warranty, it is doing the same thing! I just called Maytag customer service in Tennessee and was told they are so sorry but would sell me a one year service contract. This I immediately refused. I told the person I was talking to that I had seen this website and was aware that hundreds were having the same issues and that I knew first hand that they were doing nothing about it! I informed this person I will be in contact with my home states Attorney General’s Office Consumer Fraud Division and would ask for any assistance from them available. This person then offered to replace the part at no charge, but I would have to pay for the service people to come and determine the problem (real hard to figure out that it is the control board again, same as everyone else) and then pay to have them come and install it after they order and receive it! The service order left by the tech when he replaced the first board showed a $74 fee that was covered by the warranty. So from this I have determined that it will end up costing me $150 for this repair. I also realize this repair may last six months to a year if I am lucky! Needless to say I refused this last offer too. I will have to wait to hear from our Attorney Generals office. How can any reputable business do this?

I purchased a new gas range in Nov 2013, but didnt use it until April because I was remodeling a house I had just bought. When I used it to cook Easter dinner, my meal was cold; the oven heats, then shuts off. Maytag has sent service techs 3 times. They have replaced the control board and the DSI module and ordered another part, for which we have been waiting over 3 weeks. Now they tell me it will be here next week. Maytag obviously cannot fix the NEW range, but they refuse to replace it. They deem it to be repairable though they cannot repair it. Customer service claims to be sympathetic, but will do nothing except schedule another service call and offer to extend my service warranty. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local business (Decker and Sons in Grand Rapids, Michigan). The fridge is a French door style with the freezer on the bottom and a water dispenser/ice maker in the left door. In the 19 months weve owned the unit weve had to have service three times. One time for the freezer door not shutting correctly, and two times because the refrigerator portion quit cooling (freezer was fine). Both times it was due to something breaking that defrosts the area behind the vegetable drawers. Both times all of our food went bad. Second time it took almost two weeks to fix (Diamond was the repair service). Now, after the service, the left door doesnt shut correctly. The quality of the unit is so questionable that I hesitate to fill it back up with food. Its just plain old junk. I paid $ 221.00 to have it replaced. 10-31-2013 I was washing a load of cloths and it was very noisy. I call the local dealer and they come out and said that it needs a drive shaft tub part #w10193886. I would be about $300.00 to replace the part. Also they charge $75.00 for a service call. I called Maytag and talked to Ashley (**) from customer service and she said they could not give me any help that the washer was too old. I might also add that my last washer was 3 years old and the motor needed to be replaced. It was also a Maytag. I always thought if you paid more money for quality it was worth it. I am sorry I did not buy a cheap machine from Sears or somewhere else. It would of been 1/2 of the cost and I could of replaced it after 3 years or so if necessary and still been money ahead. We also have 4 rental homes that have all Maytag in it. I will be holding my breath that they are not junk also. If past performance indicates future performance, this part will need replacing twice a year at ~$140 per visit or $280 per year. Not a good thing. Called Whirlpool and with several calls and emails. Maytag Bravos top load washing machine - This is the worst washing machine I have ever used. Like some of the other complaints it leaves lint on your clothing. It does not put enough water in the machine. The so called smart technology that senses your load does a terrible job. Your clothing is halfway out of the water, with dry spots, even after 10 minutes of agitation. I am constantly adding 3 to 5 gallons of water to my loads to get things in the water. And if I want to let thing soak for a while you have to unplug the machine, because after 10 minutes it will automatically drain the water out. 2 years of dissatisfaction. I cant wait for it to die. I am writing to tell you about my experience that Ive had with Maytag over the last 30 days. I have owned several Maytag and Amana appliances in the past; along with owning several currently. Over the years, weve had a wonderful experience owning these appliances however the last 30 days is one that has been unbelievable. On September 18 on a Monday early in the morning I called Maytag service line. I spoke to a young lady who had difficulties finding me in the system and did not know how to make an appointment to have a Maytag repairman come to my house to look at my washer. I did not take down her name as I thought and trusted that the company was acting on my behalf and would take care of me.I spent several minutes explaining to her that I did not live in Indiana that I lived in Iowa and that I would need a repairman who is close to my hometown. She continued to give me phone numbers with area code 407 in Indiana and then kept repeating some type of a ZIP Code 49 something for Indiana. I explained to her four different times that the zip codes in Iowa start with a five and the area code would be a 515 number in the area she was looking at. She finally gave me two phone numbers, one that did not work. I asked for a repairperson out of Jefferson. She told me Cranston Repair and gave me the phone number. She told me to call him. I told her that I would go with the Cranston repair since Jefferson with my hometown and it was close to where I lived.I then asked her if she would make the appointment. She told me she didnt know how to make the appointment and she kept messing up with the system. Not sure if it was her first day or not but that was fine so I said “never mind I will set the appointment up myself. I then asked her to double-check to see if our new Maytag refrigerator that we just purchased was registered. She told me she did not see it but all I needed to do was call back the next day with the model and serial number and anybody I spoke to on the phone could go ahead and get that registered. I thought I had registered online; I only wanted to double-check but she didnt see it so I assumed I did something wrong and then would make the call back the next day.I called Cranston repair and scheduled an appointment with the repairperson for the next day Tuesday, September 19. Repairman came the next day on time, looked at the washer and found that the transmission had gone out. I had purchased the washer just shy of two years ago. The repairman said that he would have to order the part and would let me know how long it would take and would return to fix the washing machine. He called from my house and was told that the part was on backorder until October 5. After the repairman left the house I decided to call Maytag back and express my disappointment in the product as Maytag says they stand behind their products and the fact that it was not even two years old and that a transmission would go out. The individual I spoke to this time, Antcwaniqua? Not sure about spelling, listened to my story. She also told me the part the repairman ordered was not correct.I needed part W1 1132267. She said that was a substitute part for the correct part that I needed which was W11035204. I told her that the part number ending in 204 we were told was on backorder until October 5. She said no, the part may show that in the system for repairmen but Maytag can locate the part in a warehouse, it would be shipped in 3 to 5 days. I told her that he had called a place in Davenport, Iowa. What she would do because of all the issues I was having was she would go ahead and ship the part out to me at no cost in 3 to 5 days.I wasnt sure about that warehouse thing. It didnt sound convincing but at that point I had to go along with it. What was shipped out to me was the substitute part W1 113-2267. At this point she told me that I would have to pay to have the part put in; I agreed to that on I want a new washer or I want my washer repaired within 72 hours at no cost. I have not had a washer for 3 weeks plus. Repairman in coming Friday and I am not confident that the 4th gearcase part that came today will work either.

We purchased a front-load Maytag washing machine (Model MHW3505FW1) two years ago this month. When the machine is empty, we always leave to door open. We dont allow clothes to stay in it for long, never for more than a day (the load is usually changed as soon as the cycle is over). Right now, the rubber seal on the front has tons of black mold on it, and when I lift the seal to look underneath, its way worse. There have been many problems like this reported on front-loaders. Wish Id known! Maytag will not send a replacement seal.

I am very upset with the purchase of the Maytag front load washer. If you could please get back to me on what can be done. I would like for a representative to contact me and come and look at the situation.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen
Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag! On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

Excellent dishwasher but door kinda flimsy. Front panel scratches too easy. Top rack needs to be stronger and a bigger bottom rack. Other than that running wise dishwasher is excellent. Its hard to beat Maytag. I think they just build cheap stuff around good motors.

I have never been so disappointed in purchasing an appliance for my home. The Maytag Bravo XL large capacity top loader, has never worked properly, and I have many ruined pieces of clothing. Although it has a very large capacity, the water barely fills to a 1/4, and clothes are sticking out of the water, while they are supposed to be submerged/being washed IN the water. Clothes come out of the washer smelling foul. WORST WASHING MACHINE EVER.

Purchased a Maytag Dryer, Washer and Oven Range in December 2011. Both washer and oven were serviced within 1 year under warranty. The dryer stopped working in August 2013, not under warranty. Total cost to repair is $450. Called Maytag to see if they could reduce the repair cost, answer... NO. Maytag spends millions of dollars in advertising... Built Strong to Last Long but they cant spend several hundreds to keep customers. Will never buy a Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid or any other related company product ever. Their motto should be Built Weak to Last Weeks.

Maytag Bravos XL - I purchased my maytag washer & gas dryer on 5/12/12. In Dec 2012 the heating element went out. I had to wait a week for a repairman to come out on Dec. 20 to fix it. Now for the second time on Dec. 30th, 2014 the heating element has gone out. I called for a repairman to come out. I have to wait until Jan. 12th 2015 for service. I have 8 people in my home including 3 grandchildren. This length of waiting is ridiculous and very inconvenient.

Our Maytag refrigerator that is two years old has been nothing but issues just after the warranty expired. Ice maker is broken and it started having the temp alarm go off every few weeks and now every few days. It was a 1800 dollar purchase and no one has been helpful where we bought it nor has Maytag. We will never purchase another Maytag product...

I have had my Maytag set for shy of 2 full years, of actual usage time, that is. My dryer seems to be functioning normally, minus an occasional lengthy cycle time, even after the clothes are dry. The washer however, is sitting in my garage now. F51 error code, which online told me the rotary position sensor was the issue. Yes, I was told by an A&E repairman, who was at the house for an unrelated repair, that it was the bearing that was bad. When he showed me what I was looking for, there was the bearing laying in the clear plastic housing, in the underside of the washer. Its going to cost around $350.00 to get the part, if it can be found, and the service call. No, not really worth wasting more money on it. I am very unsatisfied with this unit. With 4 kids and 2 adults at home, I expected much more from the Maytag name.

Bought a stove in May of 2014. In July of 2014 we noticed a 1x6 stain inside the glass of the oven door. I called Maytag and they stated only 30 day warranty on cosmetic flaws. I said this was not there when we bought it. They asked if anything had boiled over because if liquids get in the vents on the oven door it can get in between the glass. I stated no, only cleaned with Stainless steel clear. They stated most likely when I sprayed the door it ran down in between the glass. I said that is a flaw. They said, no the vents are there to allow heat out. I asked if they also were designed to let liquids inside the glass, they said no, I said design flaw. They will do nothing. I also pointed out that nowhere in the owners manual is there a reference to this possibly happening. Our sons in laws have a 3 year old LG stainless steel with vents and have never had this problem. Maytag will not stand behind their products even when they are the ones at fault. Buy a different brand.

I had the old style machine and finally it gave out and I bought an LG HE Large capacity. It was a well I can print it here but kept the machine for 5 years and gave it away. I bought a new Bravo Maytag set 5.2 with the old style agitator thinking I was going to get a great machine and NO. These new machines do not use enough water in the load sensing and clothes on top never get in the water. They come out with soap stains even with a double rinse. And no I am not using too much soap! My old machine had small medium and large load settings plus you could add more water if needed. Way better machine. The techs are trained to tell you this is how the machines work and there is nothing wrong with them. Finally an honest tech told me they are having all sorts of complaints and problems. If all you wash is bedding and dress clothes you get by but if you really have soiled clothes you have to do a lot of prep and then stop in the middle of the wash cycle and rotate your clothes manually! Total BS for 8-900 dollar machines. Do yourself a favor and buy a front load. At least the clothes will get flopped in and out of the water and hopefully rotate so they actually get clean. That is what I am going to try before I go back to the old scrub board and tub!

Maytag Neptune Stacked Electric Washer & Dryer. Had to buy a motor for Washer but lasted 12 years before giving problems again; then couldnt find anyone that would service for cheaper than $100 for just coming to your house plus $75 an hour for labor. Thats HIGHER than my billable rate! Rip-off Service & parts charges. Found out it was easier & cheaper to troubleshoot ONLINE myself using FIXYA site and others. Expense for an appliance above what most run ~ 1500 for both units. Plus if it doesnt have or offer a 5-year warranty then something is wrong with the quality! Maytag Neptune Series MLE2000AYW 27 Inch Electric Laundry Center with 3.34 Cu. Ft. Washer Capacity, 4 Wash Cycles and 6.0 Cu. Ft. Dryer Capacity, 3 Dry Cycles: White. Worst part on this model was a WAX MOTOR that they used for the Washer to control the door being closed or open. Next worst DESIGN error was they didnt put a drain hole in the plastic rim seal for the Washer door, that area would build up mold & mildew if you didnt learn to keep Washer door open at all times AFTER a wash. We learned by removing the light bulb! Therefore it was easy for my crew to learn to leave the door open after washing. This model was Energy star certified and had a long life here 12 years. Unfortunately I think they build these things to only last 10 years; then you have to replace them. In years gone by... the 1970s Washing machines and dryers would last 20 years!!

Before putting clothes in dryer you have to untangle them. Sweaters and even t-shirts become stretched beyond help. Clothes smell like mildew if you leave them in the washer even just a couple of hours. Im 50 and had a few washer/dryers and these take the cake. Ive used the washing machine cleaner/refresher (something I have never done on washers in the past) and still a mildew smell. The dryer has lint on both sides of the lint screen. And as stated before if you dont untangle your clothes they come out in a big knot, partially un-dried & very wrinkled. The lint on both sides of the screen concern me - Ive never had a dryer do that before. Its not much lint on one side but enough to think something is not right.

Our brand new Maytag front loader has a optimum (LOL) soap dispenser that can supposedly wash several loads before refilling. BUT, the dispenser fills with water after one load and dilutes whatever soap is left! We talked to a authorized tech who said it was a poor design. That the unit wasnt sealed from water or it would be under vacuum. We called Maytag and they said something like, Um well it has sensors!! Did they explain how it would sense the diluted soap concentration? Nope. It should be replaced by MAYTAG! Knowing it is something that they sell that is defective. Right out of the gate!! We have had this washer for 1 year. I noticed right away my clothes would come out extremely wrinkled. Now not only are they wrinkled, they also smell musty. After researching I find others have the same issue, even finding a video of horrible mold under the drum. We called to have it serviced since we have a 5-year warranty. The service man recommended using Afresh. WELL, we do faithfully every month. He said they would not pay to have it cleaned, and even if he cleaned it, that the mold would come back. This to me is a major design flaw, one that could potentially make people sick. IF there is that much mold growing in the machine, with no way of cleaning it, and now the clothes are smelling, there is a HUGE issue!

I purchased my machine on June 2, 2021 and it was delivered and installed on June 4. I have successfully done two loads of laundry. On June 9, I attempted washing two small bath mats and 2 dish towels. When I returned to the laundry room to place the load in my dryer, I found the the items in soapy water. I tried many times to reset the load with no success. On June 10th I called Maytag’s customer service and spoke with an associate who walked me through a couple of common quick fixes. These also were unsuccessful. She referred me to warranty service. I will not be able to have my machine repaired until June 23rd! Obviously, if their repair department is so overwhelmed, the products they sell are a piece of junk. I am furious with both the product and the service I have received.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher in March 2013 and the control panel failed in July 2014. I, along with hundreds or thousands of others it seems, discovered that this is an extremely common issue with several models of Maytag dishwashers. Rather than standing behind their products and making it right for their customers, Maytag is hiding behind their one year warranty and refusing to do anything about it or even admit they installed thousands of FAULTY control panels. This has been an expensive, infuriating issue to deal with and I have never been so dissatisfied with a company. Bottom line, they made a bad product that should have been recalled. It blows my mind that they are getting away with this. I wish I had known the recent changes in Maytag/Whirlpool and I wish I had done my research prior to the purchase.

In January 2006, we bought a Neptune washer and dryer, model# MAH5500BWW, because we thought they were superior to any other at the time. In January 2012, the washer started making a very loud noise in the spin cycle. It just kept getting louder and a technician was called in check out the problem. We were told that the bearing was going out and he found a hole in the back of the tub. He said it was not cost effective to replace the bearing and the tub and suggested that we continue to use it until we could no longer tolerate the noise. We are very unhappy with the durability of this washer, with the amount of money we paid to be going out only after 6 years of service. We have been a Maytag customer for 15 years and will never buy another Maytag appliance. We are going to replace the washer and dryer to keep a matching set and it certainly will not be a Maytag.

We bought our new Maytag top loading washer and matching dryer about 2 year
We bought our new Maytag top loading washer and matching dryer about 2 years ago. I am a busy woman so I havent had the time to write a review, but today being my day off, once again I find myself frustrated and disappointed with this set. The washing machine has a huge capacity, which was a huge selling point for me, however, if I put more than a small load in, the clothes come out still dirty, stinky and even have dry spots on them where they werent even in contact with the water. Even on deep fill it cleans the clothes inadequately, but at least they get wet. The dryer leaves the clothing rough and wrinkled unless I use the delicate setting, which I do for all cloths, and I use fabric softener liquid and a dryer sheet.I had a front load washer and dryer before, and my clothes came out clean and beautifully soft, but I replaced them because of the musty smell problem from the washer. I wish I would have kept them and figured it out. This set is the worst and I spent so much money on them. It takes so long to wash a load of laundry, and there is no way to interrupt a cycle without it draining and starting over completely. I have tons of laundry to do and I started 2 hours ago and the first load is still going. Geesh!!! Dont buy a Maytag. I paid for the extended warranty, but they are not broken. They have sucked from the very beginning.

We had a Whirlpool stove/oven for many years, and it was finally time to trade it in. Everything about that unit was good. While shopping for another Whirlpool, the sales rep told us that Maytag and Whirlpool are one and the same. That we found, is false. An important feature for us in an appliance is the self cleaning oven. The Maytag oven had to be leveled four times after it was installed, in order for the self clean feature to function. The self clean part is only a small indented portion of the bottom of the oven, not the entire oven. And even that does not clean. After going through the dealership service about this problem, I contacted Maytag. My final frustrated summary to the rep was that I understand that we bought a lemon, and you are not going to help us in any way. I just want to say to anyone considering a Maytag stove and oven, raise your standard. If you choose Maytag, you will only be disappointed. I am.

About 9 yrs ago, we remodeled our house. And when it came to appliances, I was vehement we were going to go with Maytag because of their great name and reliability (We have 7 sons and needed reliable appliances). Boy, was I ever wrong?! We have gone through 2 Maytag dishwashers and countless repairs to the Maytag dryer. And our top of the line refrigerator has been a piece of junk!Of course, shortly after the year warranty was up, the flimsy pieces of plastic holding up the shelves started breaking off. The repairman, who came to replace the cooling coil on the refrigerator, said those shelf plugs couldnt be fixed. The whole front of all drawers have come off as well. He mentioned that Maytag was going bankrupt and started compromising on fit and finish. And he said that we just happened to purchase in that time frame. Now, we have a compressor that needs to be replaced for over $500! I have, in my garage, a Gibson freezer from my grandma that is 40 yrs old, and literally the most reliable appliance we have. Never have we made any repairs to it!I called Whirlpool (since they bought Maytag) to tell about my horrible experience with Maytag, and let them know we have to replace these appliances. I asked if there was anything they could/would do (discounts whatever) to redeem their name. I was told that they would not be able to help at all. So, I told them that I would not give Whirlpool anymore of my business and warn anyone I could, not to buy Maytag, Whirlpool or Amana. Isnt there any appliance company out there who cares about customer service, a good name and a reliable product?!

Have owned washer and dryer for one year. Liked the styling, basic functions and the manufacturers reputation. Also liked the fact that there was a rebate on the pair. We bought the entry level Maytag pair from Lowes. Lowes delivered the units quickly. Thats the good news. The BAD news is (they) dont tell you when you buy the unit that you have to buy and use special detergents. One of the cycles on the dryer stopped working within ten weeks. But the REAL thing we hate about these is the fact that they are built out of PAPER-THIN METAL. If you push on it hard with one finger you will have a permanent dent. They proudly display American flag stickers on the units proclaiming Made In the USA. They should be more concerned about the quality of their construction. A local appliance salesman told us that twenty years ago (these) appliances would commonly last fifteen to twenty years. Today you are lucky to get five or six years (But then they get to sell you another, and another, and another).

I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer in September 2010, before moving to Washington. After a few months, the washer broke and had to have a repairman out twice to fix. It never would wash a blanket without stopping with error messages. He told these were notorious for problems. Now our dryer is leaking and not drying. From research and other posts, it sounds like its a broken pulley system inside. Maytag is junk. Customer service is terrible!
