This is the absolutely worse washer I have ever owned! My clothes actually come out dirtier after they are washed. It leaves white stains on clothes that I have to scrub out by hand. Maytag you should be ashamed of yourselves for coming out with a washer like this. It takes me 2 or 3 times to wash clothes and I have to use the power wash, extra rinse, and maximum clean setting to even come close to cleaning. It is cheaper to take my clothes to the dry cleaner now than use the washer. I called Maytag numerous times, and they said that they will charge for a service call unless there is actually a mechanical issues. They will not honor repairing the machine if it does not wash clean. I will definitely NOT recommend this washer.

Dishwasher has been very dependable. Very reasonably priced and in over six years of service never had an issue with it. It’s a little on the small side for a large family but if you’re for less in your household-- works perfect.

I purchased the Neptune HE pair because they are front loading and can be set on pedestals to raise them to a comfortable working height, plus the brand and reputation are both excellent. I like that the chimes can be adjusted from low to high, or turned off. The front loading washers clean so much better and with a lot less damage to items than washers with center agitators. Looks are secondary, thats for sure. Functions like warm/warm cycles and being able to adjust to whatever load needs to be washed is really most important to me. Any appliances with a good, proven track record of reliability with few repairs is high on my list. Expensive appliances should be made to last and be of durable quality! No cheap plastic or weak-looking welds or components, thank you! Quiet operation and dependable cleaning and drying are top in my book, and this pair has exceeded even my picky expectations in total overall performance. They are 11 years old now and look & function like new! I had one minor repair on the washer at 5 years, and not a single problem since. With front loading washers, its important to keep the door open a little when not in use so that they dont get a musky smell. Ive gotten into the habit of using laundry boosters to help clothes, sheets, and towels smelling fresh longer, and putting a small amount in the washer drum has kept my whole laundry room smelling nice. Purchasing the pedestal drawers to set the washer and dryer on added extra storage to my laundry and its much easier for me to load/unload them at this comfortable height. Im totally spoiled by it now, so when I use someone elses laundry room (when I visit) I am reminded how nice my own setup is.

I have had nothing except trouble with my new Maytag Bravos washer! I first had a suspension arm or something like that replaced along with the agitator. My water cycle has never worked correctly since it was new. I take out the clothes and half are still dry. My daughter washed her kids’ clothes in the washer while she was living with us and the stains did not come out. She thought that is really unusual since they werent stains that normally you would see left on the clothes. I went to my father-in-law’s house (they have a front loading Bosch), took her detergent with her that she used here and guess what? It’s just one washing and the stain was gone. She had washed the clothes in our washer at least 7 times trying to get out the stain. Now, we have such a loud noise that it sounds like it is going to take off. Then, the bottom of the washer started to leak. We took it out and checked it and we cant find the leak. The clothes smell awful when they come out of the wash. I dont know if it is bacteria build up. I use the cycle cleaner when I am supposed to. This is so sad. This is the first time I have had matching washer and dryer and I wish I would have kept my old Sears model that worked great. I havent decided if we want to fix it. With the price to fix it, I can buy one I might like. Never will I buy Maytag again or another Whirlpool without checking out the reports.

I have several rental properties and every Maytag dishwasher I have installed in the past three years does not work. It is crazy that a national class action lawsuit has not been filed. There would have to be a large sum of money in fees for the firm that takes the case on. I am not usually for class action lawsuits but this is a known problem that Maytag refuses to acknowledge.

I have always thought of Maytag being the quality manufacturer of appliance products. We purchased a Maytag microwave (MMV4205DH-1) and after just two years it has begun to give us grief (we are in our early 70s, no family at home, so appliance receives medium usage). We constantly get the open/door message when we are trying to set the timer for operation. We open and close, open and close, etc. Just yesterday my wife noticed a slight crack on the door just below the handle, most likely due to frequent open and closing. Went online and read a number of reviews and found many others have had same or similar issues. Done with Maytag.

Bought a new Maxima washer in January. Worked for one week. Got error codes and electronics board shut down. Contract serviceman says board should have reset after turning off. Ordered new board and it is missing one of the electrical wire connector plugins. Maytag/Whirlpool is having a problem with these boards.Three weeks without a washer. Two days off work. When it goes out again, days off work will be close to what I paid for it. Thinking I may cut my future losses and buy another brand when in-transit board goes out.

I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.

The water got so bad it damaged my cabinets. I called Maytag, they admitted my model was sent out with no drain hose so this entire time my $2000 refrigerator had a missing part that they are very aware of. The part was free but I had to pay for the service. Its still leaking on the floor because the drip pan got fried from having no water in it to evaporate so it melted my drip pan, now it needs more service that I have to pay for. I have no faith that this will fix it. I will never buy Maytag again it feels like cheap plastic. I would love to start a claim against them for taking our money knowing the refrigerator has missing parts. Now Im part of the towel on the floor club group.

Bought washer in 2010 from Sears. Told me the washer had a sensor to measure how much water it needs. Was told by service guy that was a blatant misrepresentation by the sales person. It only fills up with 8 of water. When I wash my white towels with normal dirt (dog paws), with HE detergent and bleach on various cycles, my towels come out tie-dyed with dirt. Totally dislike this machine.

I have only had this machine for 2 weeks after having a Maytag since 1994. Even broken, my old machine was far superior to this one, a Maytag Bravos. Fortunately, the salesman noted that I wouldnt be happy with this machine but, thanks to a government mandate, all new machines behave in a similar manner to save water and energy. This agitator-less machine neither washes nor rinses the clothes/bedding/towels properly. It takes four times as long to wash the items but doesnt get them nearly as clean. Today, I put 2 pairs of shorts, 2 T-shirts and a standard bed-sized mattress cover in to wash. The mattress cover never even got thoroughly wet even though I used the deep wash and extra rinse settings. Last week I put sheets in the sheet setting only to have them come out totally wrinkled and stiff as a board with soap even though I used the recommended amount of detergent. This is a disaster. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag and the U.S. Govt. A river and a flat rock would work better!

We purchased our range in May of 2012. It is now November 2014 and the stove has had three brains, three ignitors in the oven and one ignitor in the back of the stove. When I set it to bake at 350 degrees, the oven heats up and I put the food in the oven. When I go to check the food, I find the oven stone cold and the brain is still displaying 350 degrees. According to Home Depot Warranty department, if the oven has been fixed three times for the same problem, then the unit is considered a LEMON. Ok, what about the three brains? What about the three ignitors? The ignitor in the back of the stove controls the oven as well. SEVEN times for a technician to come out and fix my LEMON stove is ridiculous. California has lemon laws. I will file suit against Home Depot, Whirlpool, A&E and Quality Appliance if this stove is not replaced within the next seven days. IT IS A LEMON! I have lost way too much food in this oven because I dont know when it shuts off.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator. Big big mistake. It bangs, makes all kinds of noises. The bottom freezer has ice that builds up once in a while, has to be unloaded and thawed out. We have had several service calls and they do not know whats wrong. Trouble started about a month out of warranty. Called Maytag and they would not do anything. WE are very disappointed in Maytag. I purchased a Maytag Neptune 24” front load washer (MAH2400a) and 24” electric dryer (MDE2400AYW) on October 26, 2005 from Sears in Chesterfield, MO. In April 2011, the drum in the washer began to slush and grind. Water also began pooling around the machine. I called Sears and arranged for service repairman. Before he even looked inside the washer, the repairman wanted to give me a coupon for $50.00 off a new washing machine from Sears. After my insistence, he finally opened the washer and told me I needed a new drum. Because of the Sears repairman’s reluctance to look at the machine, I had another appliance repairman review it and was told that the water pumps for this model were defective. Any loose items the size of coins collected inside the pump and damaged it. I paid $340.00 to get the pump replaced. Ten months later, the dryer started smoking. After scheduling a service call, I was told the heating element burnt out and it would cost $360.00 to replace. It was then I noticed that the washer was leaking again. I took the front base cover off and saw mold growing under the machine. A little research uncovered that this set of machines has had many dangerous problems, from mold to catching on fire. There was a class action lawsuit filed and won by consumers in April 2005, yet I was sold this model in October 2005. I feel both Maytag and Sears knowingly sold me a defective and dangerous product. I would like to be refunded for this set.

At the same time the control panel failed yielding the machine completely unusable. The repair cost was more than originally payed for the machine, forcing me to purchase a new one (not a Maytag). I bought this Maytag oven (MEW 7627HB) to replace a 20-year-old GE double oven. Upon the first use, I found that it has noisy cooling fans which run continuously as soon as it is turned on and, for some time, after it is turned off. These fans make an irritating, loud, whistling noise. The dealer responded to my complaint, pulled the oven out and performed a complete system test. He then called engineers at the Whirlpool factory, who told him that the fans were a recent redesign made because the previous design didnt satisfactorily cool the electronic control circuit and that there was nothing to be done about the noise. After several weeks, the oven, when in use, continues to stink of overheated electronics. I fear it wont last long.Note that my old GE model, which also had electronic controls, didnt run a fan at all unless both ovens had been on for some time or the self-cleaning feature had been on for a while. And it didnt make a loud noise.

We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator brand new, about 18 months ago. It always ran loud so the repairman came out during the 12 month warranty period. He told us to unplug and reset it, but that never did the trick. Eight months later, the fridge stopped cooling. We called our local repairman and he told us ($97 later) that the compressor was out. He said we should contact Maytag because the compressor should be under a 5-year warranty. Then the nightmare began. I spoke to four different reps with a total hold time of about 2 hours. Two of the reps put me on hold to get a supervisor and/or consult another rep and I was mysteriously cut off each time. One rep told me my compressor wasnt covered under warranty. The last rep I spoke to told me it was covered and he scheduled a Maytag repairman to come and replace the compressor. I was thrilled. The repairman came out and informed me that the compressor was indeed out and handed me a bill for $137. I asked why I was being billed and he said because that was the way that Maytag had ordered the service call. I told him that the Maytag rep had assured me that Maytag was covering the repair. He apologized and said that not only was I obliged to pay for the diagnosis (which I didnt need because I had already paid my local guy for the same information), but that it would cost $900 to replace the compressor. I was flabbergasted. I called Maytag and they denied all responsibility. They said that even though the rep had assured me of Maytags commitment to replace the compressor under the 5-year warranty, he had made a mistake and I wasnt actually covered. So I paid our local repairman to replace the compressor, because by that time, we had been living out of ice chests for 2 weeks. That was 3 weeks ago. Now the unit is freezing water on the bottom of the freezer and then leaking water on the floor. It is unconscionable that this company be allowed to defraud people to this extent. I will never buy a Maytag again and I would like to be informed of any class action suit. This company should be deeply, deeply ashamed of itself.

DO NOT BUY Whirlpool Corp Appliances, ESPECIALLY MAYTAG. They do not stand behind the units they sell. We dropped $600 on this Commercial Grade wash machine (5.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency White Top Load Washing Machine with Deep Clean Option, ENERGY STAR Model MVW7232HW) and paid to upgrade the lines to stainless steel. It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered. There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. The parts to fix it are back-ordered months and cost more than a new unit after install. Glad I paid $150 to learn all this. It also did not wash great on most settings. Purchased at Home Depot, they refused to stand behind the product as well.

I had a tub failure on my washer Whirlpool Duet, which I bought brand new and it lasted 12 years with no problems. The dryer is still in use at my sons house. However, this failure lead me on a search for a set to replace the duet. I did some research and found the Maytag 6.2 Cu. Ft top loader and huge Dryer to match. The set was not cheap and it did have high marks for a great washer. So, I bought them both and had them delivered on 12/30/16. I have read all the owners manual and watched YouTube videos to see how to use this machine with all its pretty lights and sounds. I will concede that the machines look great, very impressive in my laundry room. I would bet it would even be a plus when I go to sell the house.THAT is all the nice stuff I can say. The machine does not clean clothes and I have done all the settings. I have changed laundry detergents, and even tried to add a little more water with a bucket at the start of the wash. (Saw that one on YouTube.) REALLY. That did not work, nor should I have to do that to get it to clean well. The answer seems to be, set the machine on FULL tub of water. So, I tried that for a couple of times and found that the clothes just float around and since they do not touch the Wear Plate they dont get clean. My wife (yes, I am a man that does most of the laundry) said she hates the washer and I was an idiot for buying this expensive piece of metal that does nothing but take up space and leaves spots on your clothes. Have you heard the term Happy Wife-Happy Life. Well not so much for me now.Spending money even $2,500.00 on a washer and dryer seems a little crazy. But I had the extra money and I have always wanted a MAYTAG. These guys know how to make a washer. Boy was I wrong, this machine must be an embarrassment to Maytag. I know I am really shocked that you would sell this machine as top of the line. I am not sure what Maytag will do, but I thought I would give you a chance to make this right. I have attached pictures of the machines installed and pictures of the model number plates. I have faith that Maytag will step up. My wife said this was a waste of time. The ball is in your court Maytag. (Come on Maytag let me win this one.) - Just a man and his dirty clothes.

My oven smelled for weeks after being installed. The first time I self cleaned, the oven stopped working and the door remained locked. It took weeks to get it repaired because we needed a part that had to be ordered. The second time we self cleaned, the oven smoked, set off smoke alarm that had to be disconnected, the control panel bulged, and the door locked. It was Sunday. I wrote a nasty email to Maytag. The service man who came Monday could not unlock the door, and said he had to order a part and would return the next Tuesday if the part arrived.Next, I had warranty issues. I had to get a copy of the purchase receipt from Home Depot to prove that the oven was still in warranty. Out of the blue, my phone rings on Thursday and it was Joe ** from Maytag in Michigan. He had read my email, said he was sorry for all the problems, and if I did not mind waiting 2 to 3 weeks, he would send me a brand new oven, would have it installed, and would have the old oven sent back for inspection. I did not mind (although there is only so many things that can be grilled or you can bake in a toaster oven). Three weeks later, I have my newly-installed new oven with its new, year-long warranty. Thank you Mr. ** and Maytag for the great service.

We too bought a Maytag range (MER5755QAW) approximately 5 years ago. While making Christmas dinner, it quit working. The oven would not heat. Too bad it had to quit that day (or at all for that matter). Unfortunately, every single appliance I bought for my house 5 years ago is a Maytag appliance! The microwave quit last month and I have yet to replace it. I bought Maytag because for the longest time it was such a positive household brand name. Unfortunately, with 2 appliances less than 5 years old and out of warranty, I will never purchase one of their products again! I will spend the extra money and go with LG especially after reading some of the reviews on here on Maytag’s products (there are over 192 complaints on the Maytag ranges and ovens alone on this one forum).

In December of 2013 I purchased a Maytag clothes dryer model Neptune. In July of 2014, I was hearing a banging sound as the drum rotated. As a mechanical inclined person that I am I removed the top of the dryer and turned the drum by hand. As I turned the drum I noticed that the stainless steel crimped bead around the drum had separated just enough to hit the side wall of the dryer. I was able to bang down the raised portion of the raised bead. This was a quick fix and there was no more banging as the drum turned around. Then in June of this month it started to make that banging sound again. So I removed the top of the dryer and discovered that the bead separated again and then there was a crack that spread to about 1 1/2 inches. I banged down the raised portion again and this lasted for 2 weeks. That’s when I noticed that the crack spread further apart and actually ripped a hole in the left side wall of the machine and froze in position where it would not turn at all. So I reversed the turn of the drum by hand to allow the drum to turn again. At this point I decided to order a new drum which came to $264.00 which included shipping. When it arrives I will replace the entire drum. Being that Maytag/Whirlpool refused to honor their product because this issue happened after the warranty had just expired and the company didnt want to replace the drum. I have never heard of a dryer drum seal bead coming apart in all my experience with repairing an appliance. No I wouldnt suggest purchasing a Maytag/Whirlpool product to anyone. I feel the company should have done the right thing and replaced the drum. In life if you do the right thing all the time, then there would never be an issue with the consumer and corporation. I purchased a new Maytag top freezer refrigerator. From the time it was delivered the freezer temp never went below 10 degrees. It ran between 10 and 20 degrees. Ice cream was soupy, bread did not freeze. I called Good Deals Appliance in Fort Myers, FL where I bought the refrigerator 3 days after delivery to report the freezer problem. They sent a service tech out who looked at it and said the model I bought has no freezer control so it could not be fixed. The store I bought it from said Whirlpool, who owns Maytag, said 10 degrees is acceptable for the model I bought so there was nothing the store or Whirlpool would do to replace it. I called Whirlpool numerous times, was on hold for over half an hour each time and was told 10 degree freezer temp is acceptable. After considerable arguing, they agreed to send a second repair person who came out and said the freezer temperature problem could not be fixed. After numerous additional calls, a complaint to the BBB and a stop payment on my Visa, Whirlpool sent a third service person who said it could not be repaired. I began the round of phone calls to Whirlpool again as well as to the Good Deals salesman who has been as useless as possible, continually saying it is our problem to deal with Whirlpool. The BBB contacted me and then Good Deals who said Whirlpool has agreed to replace the refrigerator but I have to contact Whirlpool. I have called Whirlpool, waited forever on hold, and left three messages and no one has returned my call. Whirlpool should not call what they do customer service. They are rude and argumentative and make it very difficult for customers to contact them and even more difficult to get a defective appliance replaced. DONT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING WHIRLPOOL OR MAYTAG APPLIANCES?

My last washer was a Whirlpool and had it 15 year and never had that issue. So it cant be from the water, just poor workmanship. Very disappointed. Now my lid came loose and is ready to fall off. I have a Maytag side by side. In the first year, the ice maker failed and I had to replace it (in warranty/no charge). In the fifth year, the compressor failed (no warranty) and it hasnt been replaced. Since then, I have been looking at reviews and warranties of new refrigerators. The warranties (unless you want to pay $3,000+) are all one year limited. The reviews are scathing and it doesnt matter what brand. My question is, why dont you/we all get together and file a class action suit and demand millions in damages? Complaining wont get you anywhere with these people; however, hitting them in the pocket book will make them pay attention, especially if the penalty is severe enough.

My Maytag washing machine is nothing like the ones that my mom used to have. This thing is loud as it click, click clicks through cycles. Being a mechanical engineer, I assume that parts are taking a beating inside that machine to make all that noise. Then comes the wash time on this thing. With water level on auto sensing and one rinse, this machine takes over an hour to do a batch of wash. It literally stops dead for at least a full minute between each cycle then click, click, clicks its way to the next. It does not rinse very well as more often then not there is soap scum on the clothes when the washer finally stops. SPEND A FEW DOLLARS MORE AND BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND! Maytag is garbage!

I purchased the Legacy series washer and dryer from Home Depot in 2005. For the first 3 years, the washer worked fine. Since then, it has all been downhill. When I use bleach, I have to run an empty load because for whatever reason, the bleach goes through to the next load which has resulted in a number of ruined clothes. The wash cycle leaves clothes dirty and some even come out partially dry?! The rinse cycle does not always work as more times than not, the fabric softener is still in the dispenser cup. The spin cycle is getting worse with each load. Sometimes I reset the spin cycle as many as three times at which point I hand wring the clothes. This creates a strain on the dryer as I have to run it extra long to dry the clothes. I am more disappointed than I can say. I will never purchase anything Maytag again and I will not purchase from the company who makes Maytag products.

I purchased my microwave in 2012 and have had to have numerous repairs, mostly with the open/close door switch error. It is now 2018 and I see that the same problem is still occurring! Maytag obviously hasn’t read or doesn’t care that this problem has existed for years and they choose to do nothing about it. This past week when I had the microwave running, the beep went off indicating the popcorn was done but when I opened the door the microwave was STILL running! I thought it was a fluke but it happened again. Tonight the open/close door error once again appeared on the display. Having already had this repaired to the tune of over $150, not to mention the danger of a microwave running when the door is open, I called a mayday on the Maytag! I decided enough is enough and went out and purchased a new microwave... Obviously NOT a Maytag. The dangerous inoperable Maytag microwave is in the garage waiting for trash pickup.

We bought the highly rated Maytag Bravo washer and dryer in March of 2010. In less than a year, the dryer broke down and the drum drive belt had to be replaced under warranty. Last month the washer drum stopped turning. A & E Factory Service quoted $466.87 to replace the bearing that had failed. We have hated this washer since the day we got it. So, it wasnt hard to buy a Samsung front loader and have the miserable Maytag hauled away to wherever badly designed machines go. Trying to wash clothes using high speed spinning instead of water causes excessive wear on the clothes and the machine as well as tying the clothes in knots. It is one of the worst mechanical designs I have ever seen.

Bought a new Maytag Over the stove model Microwave from Lowes. It worked fine for a while. Then it started saying open close door. We opened the door and closed it, and sometimes it would work. This went on for a while till it finally would not work at all. Called for repair, the service guy came and took it apart and one of the door switches needed adjusting. He left and it was working, good deal. 2 days later open close door started all over again. We found if we lifted the door when closing it, then it would work sometimes, until one day it would no longer work. We called for another appointment, and got a new company to fix it called ABCO. The service guy showed up and tightened a screw and it worked again, said the other service guy might have forgot to tighten it down. I tried it and it worked. We did not touch it again till next morning and back to open close door again. Called ABCO back and got a new service time for Wednesday next week. Wednesday came and went, called to see why no show. They said we were not on the service list and were very sorry. So we set up a new time for them to show the following week Tuesday between 12 and 3 pm. At 3:49 they called and said sorry, but they were not going to be able to make it today. I told her then get us tomorrow and was told they were very busy and maybe Thursday would be better. I told her we were in line and and should get service before others that came on later. Her reply was maybe Monday of next week was better. After the runaround she said they would try for Wednesday tomorrow, but no promise made. After that I called Maytag direct and they said nothing they could do except make another service appointment. She told me I could get a service appointment tomorrow Wednesday between 8 and 12am or 12 and 3pm. I asked with who this time and was told ABCO who just told me they were too busy to show up tomorrow and had put me on standby. In the meantime I paid over $300 for the Maytag microwave that is never going to need service because the Maytag service man is so lonely. And bought a $ 200 Panasonic counter model so we could have a working microwave. So now we are in over $500 and still no Maytag working microwave. They did send me a letter offering me a discount on extended service plan if I want one. I told them it would be cheaper after the one year runs out under warranty, to just junk the microwave because it has cost me way more in wasted time, waiting for the lonely Maytag repairman to show up. Bottom line do not buy a Maytag Microwave model MMV4205DS-1 unless you just want a good looking decoration over your stove with a nice light, and have plenty of time waiting for the lonely Maytag repairman.

Purchased this maytag oven from home depot November 2011. Oven has been working properly since install. The top burner controls do operate too easy and you can just brush up against the stove and turn the gas on which I seen here was mentioned. My major issue is the stainless steel finish that was applied. It appears that this metal was not properly prepared prior to applying the finish. The oven door is with rust blisters. The metal under the coating is causing this problem. The finish in the other areas is with no problems... No chemicals have been used to clean this oven.Customer service of maytag stated that this stove only has a one year warranty... so if you buy any maytag just remember one year and when it breaks down the cost to fix will be more than a new defective maytag stove. My daughter purchased this washer and matching dryer as a set from Lowes about 4 years ago. It was one of the few with an agitator and that is what she wanted. After using the washer for the first time she was very disappointed to find that the shortest cycle took over an hour and that the locking lid feature couldnt be bypassed. A few weeks ago the washer began gushing water onto the floor which flooded the basement below. She had purchased an extended warranty which was due to expire the following week. She called Lowes and scheduled a repairman. He finally came 2 weeks later and used the Internet to help him diagnose the problem!!! We could have done that. He decided that the control panel was only allowing the agitator to turn in one direction during the wash cycle. So essentially it was spinning a tub full of clothes and water causing lots of water to overflow the tub onto the floor. Needless-to-say he had to order a part and cant return for over 2 weeks to install it. IF this is even the problem! He also said he couldnt disable the locking lid feature! If my daughter had been able to open the lid when the problem started she would have known more about it.We are thankful her machine was under warranty but she will have been without a machine for almost 2 months when and if it is fixed. This is completely unsatisfactory for a gently used 4 year old washer. The dryer takes forever to dry also. If you are buying Maytag based on how long your grandmothers machine lasted, you will be disappointed! This washer caused so much damage we had to file a homeowners insurance claim!

We bought a Maytag Dishwasher - Model #MDB4949SHW a year and a half ago at a Home Depot Location. We had previously had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 13 years of heavy use, with no issues or difficulties. At the time we purchased our dishwasher, there were various different brands on sale, including the one we purchased. The sales rep at Home Depot advised us that although we could get a similar dishwasher for the same price, that this particular model had a 10 year warranty. When I heard that, all I heard was 10 worry free years. MY MISTAKE. I could never have imagined that a company such as Whirlpool would advertise a warranty, that in the end is made up of nothing but false advertising. We ran a cycle during the Christmas holidays, and detected a funny smell of burnt rubber but didnt know what to make of it. I googled the issue and some people had had experiences with perhaps a plastic utensil or some other plastic, being burned by the heating element, so I figured that its what might have happened. I ran another cycle the next day, and the smell was much less prominent so I thought the problem had gone away. The next time we ran a cycle, the water didnt drain. We called in a repair person, and was shocked to learn that both the drain pump and main control board needed replacing. We got in touch with Whirlpool and low and behold, the only items they cover are nonsense items such as the racks, drum, tub...etc....in other words, the parts that are actually responsible for the running of the machine, are not covered, neither is LABOUR. Therefore, in my opinion, their warranty is trash and should not be relied upon under any circumstances. We purchased a new dishwasher just a year and a half ago, and are left with a heap of junk in our kitchen. Our options? Either spend $600.00 to $700.00 on repairs, possibly more, or buy a new dishwasher. When I asked if there was anything they could do to at least mitigate my damages, I was told....Sorry for your inconvenience...but do you have any other questions. I dont have any other questions...but I do have have a comment.... Make your products better....and dont print warranties that are utterly rubbish, false, and only serve to mislead the consumer. Needless to say, we will not be buying any more appliances from this company. Their one and only goal is profit for their shareholders with no regard whatsoever for the consumer. If I could give it ZERO stars, I most certainly would. :)

I have had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. It recently started leaking water on the floor and all over the bottom of the freezer. Repairman said it is a flaw with the defrost drain design. He thinks Maytag MIGHT have changed it since I purchased mine, but I dont know. Originally they used this small rubber valve;repairman said they get clogged very easily (even though I vacuum around it regularly and dont have any pets). He replaced that part with something sturdy that looks like a p trap. I looked online and there are loads of complaints about this exact issue with the defrost drain clogging. It cost $250 to have it repaired. I called Maytag to ask to be reimbursed and of course they will not do anything since it is out of warranty. Its a shame Maytag wont stand behind their products. Tried various cycles and I hear water going in but don’t see any water. How does this wash clothes. I want to see water and soap clean the clothes. If I want dry cleaning I will bring the clothes to the dry cleaner. Never again will I buy a high efficiency washer. My clothes do not come out clean!

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator 3 years ago, now it started to leak water on the floor. Repairman said this happens after about 3 years to all Maytag refrigerators because the water hose is too small and gets plugged which causes water to flow into bottom of freezer; 2 inches of ice on bottom of freezer. Now we have to remove everything from freezer and refrigerator, unplug for 2 days to melt ice so we lose all of our food in freezer and refrigerator.

I purchased this $857 dishwasher from Lowes in May, 2021. It broke in June, 2021. S&S Repair was sent by Maytag to repair. It took 3 weeks for them to come, then they discovered the motor and pump assembly had gone out. Parts were on backorder. It is now August, 13, 2021 and I still have no dishwasher. Lowes would not replace this dishwasher. Maytag will not authorize a return. This is disgusting.

I just bought my Maytag Range model #MGR8700DS2 in August 2016. Bought Maytag because I always thought it was one of the best with the best warranty around. Now I am not so sure. After using it the first time, found that when you are baking anything in the oven the burner control knobs get very hot. That is because they designed the knob area to be right above where the heat vents out from the oven door. The knobs get so hot that you almost burn yourself if you touch them. This is a bad design in my opinion especially if you have any kids around. Even the sides of the oven get way too hot. This is also bad because of the tight spacing to your cabinets. I contacted Maytag about this and got a OH WELL kind of reply to my problem. You bought it and you are stuck with it. I would not recommend buying this model to anyone.

Freezer leaks water all over the kitchen floor in front of this $1900 piece
Freezer leaks water all over the kitchen floor in front of this $1900 piece of garbage. My husband disconnected the water line (for in-door water and ice cube dispenser) and it STILL leaks water. I can vaguely remember a time when the purchase of a refrigerator (manufactured in the USA) wasnt necessary more than once or twice in the average persons lifetime. This Maytag refrigerator is our second french door fridge in 5 years. The last one was an LG that had a shoddily designed and manufactured compressor that sounded like a diesel engine idling in our kitchen. Of the two, this one is equally defective but doesnt wake the dead when the compressor starts. It has become glaringly apparent the Chinese practice something I refer to as Cargo Cult manufacturing. Google Cargo Cult and youll understand what I mean. Briefly, they manufacture products that APPEAR to be refrigerators, washing machines, ranges, etc. However, lack of quality control and zero competition from companies that provide a well-made, quality product that lasts more than a year or two allows and encourages these slobs to continue pumping out what appear to be appliances until the consumer plugs them in. Thats when the fun begins.

This machine was in best machines of 2019/2020. It has many features. Ive had one day and have multiple concerns, I will be returning the machine. The dryer isnt great either. Had multiple loads not dry. On the washer, there is no interior light so you cant actually see items in washer to judge soap etc. Has a soap disp that is supposed to hold multiple loads, says 8. Ive washed over 8 and the out of soap alert hasnt come on as youd expect, but when I check the dispenser is full of water so who knows! Cant see inside so I have so way of knowing if there is soap that is still going in, should I add more or what? The alert bell is too quiet, cant hear outside of the laundry room. Multiple loads have not spun out well, leaving standing water and clothes too wet for dryer. Ive had to run a drain/spin cycle to get clothes spun out. It is supposed to connect to wifi but that hasnt been successful, plus, not everyone keeps a phone on them 24/4! Need a louder alert. I washed a sm item that threw it off balance. My LG washed a small floor mat with no issues. I do a significant amt of research before a LG purchase and I feel I was lead astray. I am not happy with this washer or dryer. I wanted to buy American made but this is not up to the standard I expected from Maytag.

Bought a Maytag MVWX655DW top loader clothes washer from Best Buy on 7-7-2020 it was delivered as promised on Friday 7-10-2020. The people who delivered it were very professional and nice. They did a great job installing it. My wife went to use it for the first time Saturday morning 7-11-2020. Luckily this washer had a see through door. We could not believe our eyes, it never put enough water in the tub to cover the clothes. So as we watched the clothes on top never participated in the wash, they just moved around. When it went to spin cycle it was making a loud clicking sound as it was shaking. So we tried different settings, after 3 loads I called BB and said I want to return it. This machine has been mislabeled, its not a clothes washer, its a noise maker at best. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. IT DOESNT WASH CLOTHES.

I know lawyers who are class action specialists who fight for the consumer. We need to make Maytag responsible for the flaws they have in their product. From reading these other reviews it seems that this control panel issue is consistent no matter what model you have. They must all share the same electrical components that is causing this issue with the control panel. My model number is MDB8959SBS2.

The washer stopped and displayed F51. It had that growling, horrible sound like it was dying. After restarting and trying everything, including going back to Lowes to see if a serviceman could fix it, with no luck, and father reading all the reviews on the F51 error and all of the displeased customers we divided after two years on a $900.00 machine, we would tear it apart and fix it ourselves! If possible and if not, what are we losing? Nothing! What we found was clothing between the outer casing and the drum preventing it from spinning. Unfortunately, we did not know how to get to them. With a lot of effort, we got the leggings out that was causing the drum not to spin. I am sure there is a lot more socks and a pair of fairy wings that I never found after Halloween in there. If there is anyone out there who knows how to get the outer casing off of the drum, please let me know. After removing the tights, I no longer have the error code F51 and my washer now works. I just wanted everyone with F51 error code to know it goes away after removing the clothing that gets stuck between the drum and the outer plastic casing around the drum.

Im so mad over my new purchase on the XL Bravo washer and dryer and Home Depot will not return. I have 3 kids and a hard working husband. My clothes do not come out clean no matter what cycle I use. It takes forever just to wash one load. If you spill something on your clothes and it dries crusty it will come out of the washer crusty. I want to cry. So much money wasted and cant get our money back. Would never recommend a washer without an agitator. Towels come out soaking wet, and dont spin dry if heavy...forget washing a blanket. 4th day using the dryer and now there is no heat. What was I thinking!! So mad and sad too!

I bought the Maytag Bravos because I was told it was top of the line and expected that Maytags reputation for quality would provide me with many years of dependable service without problem. Boy, was I taken for a ride! Unless you have a lot of money to spend, DO NOT buy a Maytag Bravos washing machine. After only 3.5 years of normal use (3-4 standard loads per week) and doing everything as suggested by the owners manual, my machine has developed a bad drum bearing. The cost to repair this bearing is $400 for parts and $200 for labor. In other words, I am forced to buy a new machine after ONLY 3.5 years of use. When I called Maytag customer service department to question them about my problem, their response was there are no recalls on your machine, so we cannot do anything for you. When I further questioned them about the lack of quality/dependability my machine provided, they again said, Sorry, the machine is out of the warranty period. Thank you for buying Maytag. If you buy one of these washing machines, you better have the extra money to buy an extended warranty.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer and companion dryer in March 2018. I like to wash our king size bedding often and liked that this model had no agitator and could accompany the large loads. I am using the extra rinse constantly since I dont trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. Tshirts are twisted and wrinkled and half wet. I end up rewashing almost everything then being a guardian for the dryer---checking and rechecking every load. Maytag says sorry, its out of warranty. I absolutely hate these appliances!

Bought the Maytag MDSH969AWS1 in Dec. 2010, and it quit after 4 and 1/2 years. Ironically, replaced a perfectly good 20 year old GE model that ran great for this piece of junk. I tried to diagnose the problem: the washer fills, but when the cycle is supposed to start it just hums. Then you have to drain it. So I think the problem is the motor or capacitor. The parts are stupidly overpriced, and Im not even sure if that is the problem. It could also be the electronics board (Ive heard of the problems with these on this brand). So instead of risking wasted time and parts Im junking this, er, piece of junk. The stainless steel door was rusting on the bottom too. American made crap! Bought a fancy Samsung to replace it, and will NEVER buy Maytag again. Im old enough to recall the lonely Maytag repairman -- Itd give him a swift kick in the rear for being associated with such a shoddy brand. Maytag, its the Dodge-Jeep of appliances.

I have had my washer and dryer for 14 months and from day one, my washer eats holes in my clothes. It is always the bottom center front of my shirts. I complained about this and was told it was my clothes. They were either old, or the type of fabric, or too much bleach, etc. etc. Everything was wrong with myclothes except the washer. I purchased a new shirt and washed it without ever had worn it, and when I took it out of the washer, it has holes in the front. NOW YOU TELL ME that is the shirt and not the washer. I have used Maytag for the past 40 years and I never had any problems with the old Maytag washers. This new Bravos is a piece of junk and I am sorry I ever purchased it. I will never buy another Maytag product.

My fiancee and I purchased a Maytag washing machine from our local Sears. We got it home and it worked fine, but after the first month it wasnt switching over from cycle to cycle. We called Sears and they stated that they didnt provide service to the washing machines, so we would have to call Maytag. We called Maytag and they sent servicemen from B & B Appliance to our home. We were told that they needed to order a piece and would be back at another time to fix the washing machine. They came back and said it was fixed. I went to start a load of laundry the following morning and the basement flooded. The hose had become dislodged when they were working on it. To add insult to injury, the washing machine was still broken. I called Maytag to request a different service company come to our home. Maytag said that they couldnt send a different company. They also couldnt replace our still broken washing machine and they could not accept a return. At this point we are out an almost $800 for the washing machine, over $5000 (which we have submitted to insurance) for the damage to our home, and almost $600 for a WORKING washing machine that was a different brand. We will never use Maytag ever again.

I purchased the top load Maytag Commercial Residential washer with an agitator last month. I wanted a basic washer with Hot/Warm/Cold settings, Delicate/Normal/Heavy Duty cycles, Small/Medium/Large loads. I paid over $800 for this washer and I cannot wash my whites or rags in hot water! The hot water setting dispenses hot water, then cold water, back and forth. The end result is cool water. Ive called Maytag, Ive been told that there is nothing that can be done about it, thats how theyre made to be considered HE. I asked them why they even put a hot or warm water setting on the washer. You have no control over the water level, all cycles except for normal run in a deep water setting (full drum of water), I dont know why delicates are in a deep water setting. I only wash a couple pieces of delicates together. I end up using a lot more water and detergent with this washer. I hope we dont have to conserve water in the next few years! So though this washer uses less hot water energy, it wastes a lot of water, my water bill goes up and my detergent is used up much quicker! I cannot add time to my wash cycle, (the actual washing/agitation cycle is very short - 10 minutes) it has to drain all of the water and re-start the cycle with more water! $800 is a lot of money for a washer that doesnt wash like my old cheap washer. The local store cant do anything about it and Maytag brushed me off.

Recently May 2019, bought a Maytag Bravos Washer, HE. Its now installed and so disappointed with this product. Not enough water to wash Clothes. Would of taken cashback from Maytag, but cant wait 6 to 8 weeks for cashback. 6 to 8 weeks after they have washer picked up. How long did we want to go without clean clothes, hummm. Problem was looked at by a professional appliance repair company sent by Maytag. His opinion, suggestion was, washer just didnt deliver enough water to wash clothes. I know its HE, suppose to me water miser, but Maytag Bravos just doesnt give enough WATER. How do we get clean cloth like that. As I mentioned in summary, I have added attachment close proximity to add water to washer raising water level to wash Cloth. Yes with proper water it does clean good, JUST NOT A AUTOMATIC WASHER now. Were only two, Rural NB, up to 3-4 washes per week, more when company around.

I bought this Maytag Dryer in May 23, 2015. I had nothing but problems. I had 4 techs come out and say different reasons why it does not work. I had the vent exhaust clean out. Still not working, the one tech said there was not enough clothes for the dryer to sense it wet. I did a huge load, still doesn’t work. The sensor for the vent keeps popping up and it’s cleaned. I have to pull it out and in to get the signal light out. Cant turn on the machine. It still does not work. I tried contacting Lowe’s, since I bought an additional services plan. They said I have to call every thirty days for three months. That means I have to take my time out of work and wait for a tech for three months to get make a complaint and TRY to get new one. I really disappointed with Maytag and Lowe’s. I have a tech coming out this Monday, 11/23/2015 for another services call. I will never buy at Lowe’s or Maytag again. How many times does a certified tech from Maytag have to come out check a brand new dryer?

Thank you all for taking the time to write these reviews. My only regret is that I am reading it now, I wish I would have read it before purchasing my own Maytag washer and dryer... I bought a Maytag MVC565FWI / YMEDC555DW1 washer and dryer duo in December 2018. I had some holes in my sons clothing, but thought maybe they were due to him being a boy of 17 year old in college, sitting all day... Also my dryer was barely drying.Called and had a 1st technician for the dryer issue. He said no wrong code and to try and clean the evacuation vent. As I am a renter, I contacted my owner to do so and he did. But I did not get to try the machine unfortunately since 5 days after the technicians visit, I was deploying to Africa. I am military and was deployed for 8 months. Upon me return, dryer still barely dries and HOLES in every load of laundry that I do. My sons and also my own clothing. This time, there is no mistaking articles that I put in came out with huge circular holes.A second visit with a technician is arranged, last Tuesday October 8th 2019. Still no codes are found. And technician suggests cleaning the conduct better. Again my owner does so. Again, up to 4 cycles of 60 min on High heat to dry articles. No economy on energy on these models! I have called Maytag today since no one has contacted me in a week for my wrecked clothing. To my request of having my appliances either replace or refunded, they say no. Policy is to send a technician. Again. After 2 visits of technical support, Maytag is sending me for a 3rd time a technician (at my cost if nothing is found again) to test the appliances. Since the technicians can not find a code on his machine, Maytag is telling me they will do nothing.I have a washer dryer that wrecks my clothing and does not dry them. (Also I feel like my clothing are never fresh scenting, I wonder how efficient they are with even the basic cleaning part..) I will have to put them in the garbage, because how can I sell them?! Talking to Maytag, is being treated like an infant that does not understand THEM, when in reality, they do not back their products at all. I feel left alone with brand new machines that have been used around 30 times in under 1 year, that I will have to through away in the dump and never ever buy from this company again. M.

Dishwasher model: MDBH949AWW3. Gradually over a months time lost its control functions and its status display. Ten days ago the last button to fail was the start button and the dishwasher stopped working. Maytag confirmed over the phone that there was no recall on this model. The part costs $190 and is out of stock till end of October 2013. I opened the dishwasher and took a closer look at the keypad. It has the cheapest touch buttons I ever seen. Maytag had provided at purchase time a user guide and a large sheet with a sketchy incomplete drawing (W10142800C) for service use only. I made my own schematics and I built my own keypad for less than $50. You may notice that the info I have on my attached schematics is missing from Maytag/Whirlpool incomplete drawing. My keypad is working fine and will outlast all the remaining parts in that dishwasher. I wish there is an angry lawyer out there with a bad dishwasher like mine that will use this info to sue Maytag. Please give the schematics to any user having troubles with this lousy touch pad.
