Purchased 4 Maytag kitchen appliances - stove, double oven, fridge, dishwasher - was told that they were all made in the USA. WRONG. The microwave comes from China - not sure why Maytag is not being honest. Not happy with my purchases - even though we spent $4000 to buy American. Warranty service is awful - even extended warranty is a joke. Would never purchase Maytag again.

Always have bought Maytag. 16 years on both washer and dryer. The newer models, which I dont have, locks the top of the washer after it starts. I would hate that. I dont care if they are stackable but I would want full size. I dont think I would pay extra for a front loader, but the only front loading washer I have ever owned is small and at our camp.

Purchased my Maytag range/oven 14 years ago and it still works to this day. I had to replace both oven heating elements. I am a do it yourselfer, took me less than 5min to replace both. The cook top is easy to clean. As long as you take care of it, it should last you a long time.

The oven range (model number mgr8772wb) will not heat to proper temperature. It runs 35 degrees cold even after the built-in adjustment of 30 degrees. the repairman said it was just a cold-natured oven and we had to get used to it. So if a recipe calls for 400 degrees, you must preheat to 430 degrees. As much as this thing cost, it should cook properly. I must rethink Maytags reputation. I thought they were the best. Wrong.

We bought our Maytag dishwasher at Sears about 2 years ago. It has never cleaned very well, we have to rinse everything almost to the point of spotless before we load it. Its a water saver, which means it takes more than 4 hours to fully cycle. Just today, I went to turn it on and the start button does not work. I looked it up and found that this is a common problem with new Maytag washers. This is really irritating, considering we paid a lot more for the Maytag brand than we would have paid for something without the Maytag reputation. Live and learn, I guess; we certainly will not be buying another Maytag.

Our Maytag Atlantis dryer had smoke coming out and almost had our house on fire! Had it not for us double checking the entire house would have burnt down! The dryer is less than 10 years old and already it is tearing apart. I cant risk using it again. Terrible company. I would never buy Maytag products ever again!

I am absolutely disgusted with this Maytag Bravos XL washer. Have owned it 6 months and cant wait to get rid of it. We live on a farm and have cattle. If jeans go in the machine with mud on them, they will come out with mud on them. I have tried soak, deep water wash, power wash. Nothing works. I might as well put a wash tub in my back yard and wash by hand. Anything black must be washed by itself as it will come out covered in lint. How did this machine ever go on the market? Expensive mistake. Please do not buy this machine.

In the process of self cleaning mode, oven died with door locked. Thermostat and thermal fuse went out, couldnt get oven door open or control the situation in any way except pray for no fire and wait for hours till oven cooled down. Door could not be opened, it died in lock mode. Called repairman, already in to 2 repair bills, still not operating. Called Whirlpool and Maytag, no help!! But amazingly they have created a new kit for the blower unit in this oven, model # Mew7527AW00. I paid a bunch of money for this oven, which replaced a 40 yr. old oven that had been in its place, operating fine, but it was Aqua Blue!! Its so sad that a huge Company as this will not help with an almost new Oven??

Home Depot is selling defective appliances manufactured by Whirlpool and refuses to provide a full refund. I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in August of 2010.Washer broke in February of 2011. No parts available for repair, Whirlpool replaced washer after 4 weeks. This washer broke in July 2011. No parts are available for repair until August 17th.

Have had this side by side for a long time and it is great. Have not had any problems with it. Also have had an Amana which we love as well. These are side by side and are frost free and never have to clean.

We purchased a Maytag dryer in Dec 2012 and several days ago the heating unit failed (mid April 2014). I did a quick search on this site and a few others where I saw numerous such issues with Maytag dryers. I realized that I was 4 months beyond the warranty period but took a shot at calling their customer service line to voice my displeasure only to get the company line that they could do nothing. My wife and I have been married 27 years this year and this was the 4th dryer we have purchased (1st and last Maytag) which obviously did not last like the other brands or like we expected. I definitely do not recommend this brand!

Maytag Dishwashers work great. It cleans well and appearance is very good. I have always trusted Maytag appliances. Its quiet running and also energy saver. If I had to replace I would stay with Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag commercial residential washer in late 2018, supposed to have a warranty for at least 5 years. We are in California and I was told that there was only one facility that could come two weeks later. I removed the front panel to have it ready for service tech, who on the first visit kept saying he did not know what the problem was, and left telling me he would order parts. After Christmas, I could not get in touch with service so again called Maytag. Service was supposed to come out on the 30th.After waiting almost 3 hours, he called to tell me he did not have the parts. Also, this repair tech treated me very bad since I removed the front panel which I thought I was being nice. He called me back on the 30th, said someone gave him a part, and came. All he did was remove control panel, lost the start button and told me it worked without checking it at all. He was rushing to another appointment so I tried to start it and it still had the original issue, which was slow agitator and a rubbing/grinding sound. Now, after he did something with control panel it had a clicking sound. I immediately called corporate and was told when he came back, which has now been over a month with no washer, that he would be with a senior technician.January 5th I waited all afternoon and he called and said he was not coming and that my whole washer would have to be rebuilt. He never replaced the parts on previous invoices I received, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Now they are completely lying. Technician trying to say I had the control panel apart which is not true, and does not match up with the invoices I received. They are telling me my warranty is voided! Its been a month and a half. I was treated rudely from the beginning and now I am obviously being retaliated against. I have 3 kids, two with severe medical problems and have put so many hours into calling with all these issues.I had another service place come out and he removed the agitator and the transmission shaft/drive motor is rusted out, as well as the parts he said he replaced are worn and definitely not new. For this company to come back after all this time and say I did this, when I have the original invoice that clearly states otherwise is absolutely the worst service ever.I bought this machine thinking it would last, and now have to deal with all this. I have nerve damage and it is very difficult to take all the laundry for a family of 5 to do at laundromat. They refused to send someone else out, where they could easily have seen this repair tech never did what he said, and was unable to diagnose and fix the issue. Its appalling to me that this is how they treat customers. Laura ** at corporate is the one saying warranty is voided. The machine looks brand new as it has always been taken care of. They should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently, this is the standard a lot of times with people trying to get things serviced under a Manufacturer warranty!

Have read others reviews and experiences and wish I had visited here first. Our first Maytag washer and dryer set lasted over 25 years with only minor repairs until the transmission started to leak grease and was uneconomical to repair. Our second set only lasted nearly 10 years and were obviously lesser quality. The wife decided that she wanted the best and high tech version. She really liked the features of the Bravos 300. What a mistake! Not even three years old and she has been dealing with the noise and the problem with constant unbalanced loads, intermittent error codes, odors and the forever cleaning requirement. The whites were intermittently getting rust stains until I determined that the underneath side of the top cover around the bleach reservoir had rusted out big time. I replaced the top cover for over $125 plus an afternoon that I will never get back. (Out of warranty, of course). Today the wife called me to say that the washer would not complete the rinse cycle and she could not reset it. We had to pump out the water and pick the wet clothes out. A grinding sound is coming from near the bottom of the machine and sounds expensive. The service man is scheduled to be here day after tomorrow to give me the bad news. My next washer purchase will NOT be a Maytag or any other high tech piece of crap. Simple is better.......

I just purchased this Maytag Commercial Technology Washer and Dryer on August 31st, 2018 and We hooked it up today Sept 4th 2018. I put a small load of towels in this machine and it said it would take an hour and thirty seven minutes to wash. I added my detergent and pressed all of the necessary buttons and started the load. the machine started spinning and testing and adjusting. I waited to hear the water start to come into the washer but nothing. I then checked my water lines thinking they are not on but they were. Through the smokey glass on the washing machine, I could see water dripping as if it is hooked up to a slow drip IV Machine.I am taking this thing back ASAP!!! First thing in the morning on Sept 5th 2018 I do not need to call Maytag Customer Service because they know it is a piece of junk, so I do not need to waste a moment with this crap on my property. I see Maytag does not believe in a QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT because that department would put a stamp of approval on this Junk for distribution.No Washing machine should take more than 30 minutes (40 mins max) to wash no clothes. I will have to invest in an old school scrub board and rocks, then I can understand an hour and thirty minutes worth of wash time. I have set the timer on my phone when I started this load and My towels have been in the washer for an hour so far and I can still hear the slow IV DRIP OF WATER going. I just checked the machine and the digital reading is saying it has an hour and thirty three minutes to go. there is no water in the tub of this washing machine. The towels are wet from the IV drip and the machine is now pretending to agitate the dirty towels but it is only going in one direction. It is truly a sad state of affairs, your hard earned money gets you nothing but junk and a runaround.

Purchased a Bravo set 5 years ago. Paid $730. For the washer. 4 repairs in 5 years. It is now has a bearing out and that will cost $450. MAYTAG used to be the best... buyer beware!

Purchased Maytag Dishwasher MDB8959SFH4 as part of a kitchen renovation with hardwood floors. Realized that the dishwasher was leaking intermittently. Appeared that the door wouldnt latch properly. Called Whirlpool (parent company). Technician came out to assess the situation - couldnt recreate the problem so suggested replacing door seal. I try to explain to him that in my opinion it wasnt the door seal but a failure to latch because the top rack was not retracting completely on an intermittent basis. He also suggesting replacing the latch. Repair was carried out and same issue arose three days later. I systematically removed one dish at a time and then tried closing the door - after removing about the 6th item the door closed. Called the repair company today and they told me he had just received a recall from Whirlpool - apparently an issue with the tracks not allowing the rack to retract properly - what I have been saying all along. I called Whirlpool but they insisted the notice was sent out some time ago. I called Home Depot where I bought the appliance and they confirmed that they were not aware of this issue. I suggested they should not be selling this dishwasher until Whirlpool remedy the manufacturing defect. I will follow up with Whirlpool to let him know I have spoken with Home Depot and they were not aware of the issue.

I purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range in July 2006. Rust has appeared on the bottom of both oven doors. I called Maytag customer service, realizing that my range was no longer covered by warranty. However, I feel the paint on a range, costing over $1,000, should last longer than 5 years. Customer service told me to call a repair technician. When I asked who would pay for this service call, they didnt even bother to respond to me. As I have read other reviews of dissatisfied Maytag Range owners, Im glad I didnt waste money calling a repair tech who would do nothing to help, but charge a $100 plus fee. The paint on a car, which is subjected to all kinds of weather, lasts much longer than 5 years. You would think the paint on an appliance inside a home should last much longer. This rust is becoming very unsightly. I will certainly not purchase a Maytag product again, as the company has proved they do not stand behind their product line.

The washing machine is great as long as you’re washing small loads. If you try to wash a large load or heavily soiled items it does not get them fully clean. I have had absolutely no problems with the dryer except that I have had to replace the handle on the door which was a very inexpensive repair.

White clothes come out with some sort of grease stains on them and darks come out with a detergent white scum on them. I have to put them through twice to get the scum off and I have to scrub my whites by hand. So much for your new type washers. If I could find a washer with an agitator and water saver on it, I would buy it in a flash and get rid of this so called newest thing on the market. I have to put a cleaner through it every 2-3 weeks that costs me $10.00 for 3 pucks and having to rewash my clothes does not save water or time. There is a lot to be said for the washers that had water saver on them. First of all, I could open the lid during the wash cycle and add another item. (2) I could use the last of the 2 rinse cycles from my white clothes to start a load of dark clothes, that was truly a water saver and both loads were sparkling clean. Every women that I have discussed these new machines with (both front loaders and top loaders) say that you and other companies that think you have improved wash day for women have definitely not improved it but rather made it a nightmare. Absolutely hate this product. I hasnt given me a moments satisfaction since we spent the $1,000.00.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in July 2016. In August 2016 it broke for the first time. I was just passed my 30 day moneyback guarantee, so Sears would not take the washer back. I have had more than 10 service calls on this washer in one year. I live in a rural area, so Maytag told me I was in a non-serviceable area and would have to wait WEEKS until they found a repair person willing to come to me. I only live 40 miles from Richmond VA, where I purchased the washing machine, so imagine my shock when they told me they couldnt fix it because of my location! Ive had countless people in and out of my house, and it still does not work right. You can only do very small loads, so the perk of having an XL machine is none. But even at that, it does not properly clean anything, tangles clothes, and will leave even the cleanest items looking terrible when they come out.Ive had a new circuit board, new transmission, new bearings and gears, new balancing rods, and still, Im left with a machine that does not wash and makes terrible grinding noises. I bought the washer and matching dryer as a set, and even the dryer had to get a new circuit board put in it in the 1st 60 days! After thousands of dollars in repairs on a $1000 washer, Maytag will not admit I have a defective machine and replace it! I just ran a load of laundry and have to call Maytag yet again, because the grinding noise gets louder with every run. Do not waste your money!I would give anything to have the 29 year old set I gave away when I bought this garbage back! I have literally been on the phone with Maytag in tears because it doesnt work properly, Ive had to throw away items that would not come clean because there is not a laundromat available in the town I live in. All I want is to be able to keep my family in clean clothing and linens, doesnt seem like too much to ask.

Having issues with my mothers refrigerator, simple enough huh? She had misplaced my owners manual. NOW you buy the fridge, but like everything else, once they get your money youre basically on your own! I call to have a owners manual sent to her, she doesnt interact with the internet. I mean, there are still your older ones that doesnt even get on a computer. BUT I was told I couldnt get one! But when I bought it, I had one. Instead, I think its ridiculous how once, like any other major company, they get your money, and threw to the wind after that, something as simply as getting an owners manual for my fridge!!!! This fridge is a piece of crap. Bought brand new and right after warranty the freezer started freezing up and leaking all over the floor, ruined the wall behind the fridge which created mold as well as the puddle on the floor that multiple people in my home slipped and fell and it started shocking anyone who touches it. Called a repair man he says he doesnt know why its shocking probably is the manufacturers fault as well as the defect causing it to freeze up and leak. I call Maytag and the guy doesnt seem to care that my 7 year old has been shocked and says unplug it and I will just need a new fridge. I already spent the money on the new fridge. Why should I have to go buy a new one now after 2 years, that I cant afford. Its ridiculous how many other people are having problems. Its a defect and should be recalled and they should have replaced the crap fridge they sold me in the first place. You would think for such a big company they would do something but yet people are getting seriously injured and this seems like it should be taken to court for a lawsuit. I am extremely unsatisfied and wont ever buy a Maytag and will let all my family and clients through my cleaning business not to ever purchase a fridge from Maytag.

New side by side, water inlet to ice always freezes. Had a service man out, said some tube needed to be enlarged but still freezes up.The ice dispenser is total junk. Keeps spitting out ice after glass is removed and just a poor design. Dont recommend this brand.

After two years of light use of Maytag Washer 300 Series (MHWE300VW13), it stopped working. I bought Maytag Repair Plan Plus One on Oct. 8, 2012. I scheduled a service appointment on the 9th of October and was told the broken part needed to be backordered and that I should get the parts on November 5th. I have waited for almost one month. Today is November 6th and I received an email and was told I will have to wait another month! Am I in America? There are so many complaints about Maytag washers online. Can the consumer be protected? Am I complaining to the air here?!

We bought a top load washer and the matching dryer. A thermal switch (I think it’s called) blew in the dryer at about two years. Luckily my husband is an electrician, so he took care of that. WASHER-A little after 2 years the plastic “driver hub” stripped And the agitator has stopped working, the door is having trouble locking and it won’t spin fast enough to get the water out of the clothes. I’ve ordered a new “driver hub” for $53! It is a cheap plastic part. Probably 1 cent to make in China. Robbery. This will hopefully resolve all 3 issues I’m having with the washer. They even charged me 9.99 shipping. $2000 later Maytag/Whirlpool should treat their customers like royalty. I will never ever buy another Maytag or other brands associated with Whirlpool ever again.

I have owned two Maytag washers. Top load and front load. They have been the biggest piece of garbage I have ever purchased. My current front loader eats and destroys clothing. I have had to throw out numerous clothes as the machine simply destroys them. I have also had numerous problems with Maytag washers. The wiring is garbage. Couple yrs after purchase the washer shorted out. Im handy so I took it apart. Discovered a broken wire. I had to rewire a new connection with as. The wire used in manufacturing is so thin its line a strand of hair. Now it leaks under the drum. I had to place a container under the drum to collect the water. My other purchase was a top load. The lint was just a nightmare. Maytag sent me some contraption after numerous complaints that was suppose to assist in the collection of lint. Again, a piece of garbage. DONT BUY. Save your MONEY.

I will never buy another Maytag appliance. We built our home in 2005 and bought brand new Maytag kitchen appliances (refrigerator, gas oven/stovetop, dishwasher, and hood microwave). In seven years, we have had problem after problem with all four appliances. We had to replace the compressor in the refrigerator in the first 18 months and then the fan in the refrigerator about a year ago. We have had to replace the heating unit in the oven twice and the handle has broken off of the oven door twice. We have had to replace the handle latch on the dishwasher once and today, the microwave stopped working. We are not rough on our appliances (especially the microwave as we rarely use it), so I think the fact that every single Maytag appliance has broken down one to three times in different capacities in the last seven years says it all. We have had a very poor experience with this brand and will definitely never buy another Maytag appliance.

My Maytag Series 300 Dishwasher would not start. I read the reviews and took the door off (easy if you have the right tool), removed the control panel box (one screw), and cleaned the ribbon with electronic cleaner as per someones suggestion. It started right up. This is a bad design. Would I buy another Maytag? - No way! We will see how long this lasts. There is no seal on the door to keep out humidity. Do we really need a new control panel? When this is done...I am done with Maytag!

I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer in September 2010, before moving to Washington. After a few months, the washer broke and had to have a repairman out twice to fix. It never would wash a blanket without stopping with error messages. He told these were notorious for problems. Now our dryer is leaking and not drying. I checked the vent hose and water and some wet lent are inside. In moving the dryer, I can hear a piece rattling around inside. From research and other posts, it sounds like its a broken pulley system inside. Maytag is junk. Customer service is terrible! I bought this unit during a veterans day sale at Lowes, using my veteran discount. Obviously, Maytag has no problem ripping off veterans or anyone else based on their horrible customer service. I will be actively posting as many negative online posts and videos about my experience on every forum and veteran site I can. They are horrible! Stay away from Maytag!

I purchased the Bravos washer and dryer suite. Since I was a small child I had heard my parents and others alike say that Maytag always had superior products as this is the reason when I was fortunate enough to purchase a new set I chose a Maytag brand. We that was the past and the present products et washers /dryers as the worst ever. I have had my set less than 2 years and today had to go out and buy a used one again. Is it any more water-efficient to run one large load vs. two small ones? The Customer Service agents would offer only a scripted response to my query. Could they tell me the minimum or maximum amount of water used (on average) by any of the cycles? Any cycle any condition, just an estimate, please. A universal it depends was all I could extract.The scripted answer? The amount of water used depends on the sensor and the exact conditions. Well, yes, of course; I dont expect a specific amount. Just as the amount of gas used by a car depends on the length of a trip and the speed driven, the amount of water used per cycle will vary, but nevertheless we know, more or less, how much gas is used by a Toyota Camry on a trip between New York and the Maytag Customer Service office in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I noted that, if Maytag claims to build high efficiency (HE) machines, then they must be HE in comparison to something, right? -- otherwise how could they claim that these machines used less water? Less than... what?** insisted that no one at Maytag could tell me the answer. He asked, What reason could Maytag have not to disclose this information? I know this isnt the answer you want to hear, but its simply not available. Not even a range of water use per cycle required/solicited/demanded by the sensor? Can Maytags engineers be so indifferent that they never tested any cycle for its water use, but instead they just imagine that, by virtue of its mysterious sensor, it was lower than the use by their non-efficient machines? Your help in getting to the bottom of what felt like an act of stonewalling would be highly appreciated!

We bought a Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBH979AWS3) in January 2010. In April 2012, the control panel stopped working. A local repairman came out to see it for $160, diagnosed it, and suggested that we call Maytag to see if they would give us the part because it was only a two-year old machine. He did say that the control panel was not a part that was troublesome!Maytag offered an extended warranty for only $287 that would cover the part! The total repair cost was almost equal to the cost of a new machine. Home Depot, when consulted, acted as if they know nothing. After reading about other peoples experiences with this company, I feel that it is no longer an honorable company standing behind its products. In fact, the whole repair process is set up to rip off the consumer.We will now look to purchase the best and cheapest non-Maytag product, not from Home Depot, and throw it away when it gives out, which more than likely will be soon. These companies have finally convinced me to do what I am sure what they have always wanted every consumer to do. Throw it away when it breaks down.

I purchased a whole stainless steel kitchen from Lowes and purchased all Maytag products because of the so called quality of Maytag. First we had to return the microwave because it was dented badly. We then notified Lowes that the door on the refrigerator cold cut drawer falls off when opening the drawer. Service man said he would send a new door. Same problem. You can clearly see that the drawer and the refrigerator frame is deformed. Maytag says that the warranty does not cover cosmetics. The range has a aqua lift self-cleaning technology that simply sucks. The oven does not clean! I recommend that no one ever buy Maytag products. They are the worst! I should not have listened to the salesman and bought what I originally wanted - SAMSUNG!!!

I just purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer. I am very pleased with the cleaning ability of this washer. It has set pre-timed washing and drying times. I would like to have availability of setting the times for a load to run. Same with the dryer. The book says you can do this but I have not figured out how. I have been very pleased with their abilities to do what they are supposed to do. Cleaning and Drying.

I also have a Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher. The front panel has stopped working. It was a horrible dishwasher from the beginning. The dishes were streaky on the top rack. And I had to replace the rollers after just over a year. The upper rack has rust on it. The Maytag double ovens I bought at the same time had to be replaced within a year, as the racks damaged the porcelain interior. I also wish I had found your site before my purchases. My husband is not working now. So, I guess we will be washing dishes the old fashioned way.

Maytag Bravo XL -Model MVWB88OBWO. Washer quit after 13 months of light use. Repairman came, $148.00, worked on just a few setting for 4 loads. It has a bad controller and some other part. Total cost of repair, if I was stupid enough to make it, $650.00. Guess whats going to the trash. I guess that kind of negates the ECO-FRIENDLY, huh? I will NEVER own another Maytag appliance.

I would highly recommend you do some research on the Maytag bravos XL machines and dryer.This thing is about as good as a piece of paperweight thrown in the fire for no good of nothing. Warranty ran out but it has a 10 year warranty so I don’t understand, bought one year ago been broke down three times in that time. Speed queen all the way.

Worst experience of my life!!!! Don’t buy a Maytag washer!!! It’s agitating our clothes dry. Putting holes in clothes. We bought a warranty that’s pretty much useless. They will not replace. Only fix parts.

This machine doesnt wash your clothes. It leaves them dry & the agitator sucks too. I am so annoyed. I just bought them & had them delivered 7/27/15. It has only been a few days & NOT satisfied. Overpriced over $800 for it & its crap! Same with the Bravo dryer, it takes forever to dry. I wish I still had my old washer & dryer (had them for 7 years, NO problems). Very unsatisfied. DONT buy these, they are total CRAP!

Please let me know if there is a class action suit. This refrigerator leaks water all my floor every three days or so. I have to chip the ice off the bottom of freezer every three or four days. Storage is also a joke. Poor design.

We purchased the Bravos X washing machine on Feb. 9, 2012. I had a Maytag for 30 years before this one and did not have any problems. My model # is MVWX700X. I have given it sufficient time to get used to it. I have tried all cycles for my whites and am not satisfied. I use Clorox in the receptacle and I have only used Tide HE. I spot treat all of our underwear, which is changed every day, and it always comes out unacceptable. I am so disappointed since I was so fond of my old one and only thought I wanted another Maytag. At this point, I would never recommend this machine.

Neither appliance (Neptune dryer and washer purchased in 2006) was worth the price paid. The dryer drum actually cracked and the washer repeatedly gets hung up on 3E. I called about the dryer and got an Oh, well response. “We dont know whats happened to that dryer.” What happened to both appliances is that they were used for their intended purpose. I do laundry for my husband and me. Is that too much for a Maytag? Customer service is equal to indifference. So much for Neptune. And thanks for standing behind your products. What is the life expectancy of a dryer drum anyway?

July 2018 I bought a new Maytag electric washer and dryer. After one mo. the enamel inside the dryer started come off in sheets. It was replaced with 2019 model which after 3 mos. wont come on unless you unplug it and plug it back in after using it. I am now waiting for Maytag to send a repairman to come look at it. Steer clear of Maytag front load electric dryers.

Horrible washing machine. Cannot get clothes clean. It simply does not supply enough water to wash. Have tried everything. I want my money back. How do you start a class action lawsuit. Thousands of people are dissatisfied also.

This oven has been used so very seldom that I didnt feel I could rate it until now. We use the oven 1-2 times a week since purchasing it in March of 2018. There hadnt been any reason to use the Self Cleaning part of the oven until last week. I have had a oven with self-cleaning for 20 years and the oven went out so we purchased this one because of its sleek look and features. However last week I decided to use the self-cleaning setting on it and came home after being gone all day to find that the house smelled like it had a fire burning in it. I ran to the oven to find the whole inside cover in a white powdery substance. It looked like a snow blizzard had gone on inside of it. I was use to a small amount of white residue being inside the oven after it finished and it just wiped right up. We spent hours vacuuming it out then scrubbing it down with vinegar water and a sponge with a scouring pad on it. The casserole spill was still on the bottom, most of the enamel is gone and the glass will not clean off. I did not use any chemicals in the oven prior to turning it to the self-clean mode, I believe that it overheated and burnt the enamel off and distorted the glass. Whirlpool offered to send me a cleaning kit. I told them that would do no good. I had already scrubbed and used a razor blade to try and clean the bottom and the glass and them sending me different cleaning supplies would not fix the fact that 80% of the inside protective coating on the oven is gone. Now it is a porous surface. A Serviceman was scheduled and he called prior to arrival today and asked me to explain what was going on with my oven. I explained and he said I can almost guarantee that Whirlpool will say that it is cosmetic and they only cover cosmetic for 3 months and that I will have to pay for a $100.00 service call. This is a load of crap. This coating is part of the oven to keep it clean and protect the metal from the high heat of baking in it. This is not cosmetic feature like the outside stainless steel finish or the black trim decor. The inside doesnt look pretty. It is a function. See the photos below. Whirlpool Range Item # 805150. I bought a Maytag Gemini double oven gas range 5 burners (model MGT8885XS000), even air true convection cooking. Within 4 months, 1 of the gas valves (knobs to turn gas on with) froze. I could not turn one of the top burners off. Maytag came out and fixed it. Three months later, another one froze. Again Maytag came out and fixed it. Our warranty ended. Over the next year, all five burner valves have frozen. I called Maytag, told them what happened. The most they could do for me was to give me the part half off. So I can pay $200.00 for parts and pay for a repairman to come out and fix it. The oven cost $2,000.00. I am still paying for it. Chances are if I repaired it would break again.

I bought a brand-new dryer Maytag Bravos. It broke after 3 weeks. They came to fix. A few months later, same thing happened, but I have 6 people in my house. They told me someone would be here the next day, and then that person canceled. They called someone else. He came and said I have to wait 3 days for parts. I called at least 6x and waited 30 minutes each time. They kept telling me theyd call back, and theres absolutely no call back. Then I called corporate Yvette, who was totally cocky and rude (866 817 5404). She said she would try to get back to me another day because she had meetings! Then, I was irate. I mean how rude. So she called me back and said, I ordered you the parts. Now you call Dan Marc, the service company, and make the appointment. Is this woman kidding? Then she went on about how Maytag has a 13% rating (They are Maytag.) and how their product is so wonderful. Now this woman is competent cocky and rude, and shes the presidents secretary! So whatever I call Dan Marc, they have no appointments Tom and wont make me an appointment. This is how a new product should work? I asked her what I do when it breaks again and again and the warranty is up. She told me they dont work on what ifs and if that time comes, it will be her decision. I am disgusted and have a house full of kids with no dryer? And I have given them another chance after that Neptune disaster. Im appalled and dont even know what to do.

Everything in my house is Maytag. I assumed they were the best. My dishwasher went out after three years, and I replaced it with a Maytag. Now, my over the range microwave is not working. I will not replace it with Maytag. I expect my washer and dryer to be next.

Maytag side-by-side fridge with water/ice dispenser (Model # MSD2572VEW00) was purchased in 2011. Mechanically, fridge is working, however, every piece of plastic inside the refrigerator section (the regular glass shelves with plastic rims, vegetable bins, and door ban shelves) are all cracking and falling apart. Additionally, the buttons on the ice/water dispenser fell off, exposing the actual buttons on the panel. All three of the regular sized shelves have severe cracks in the plastic that affect the sturdiness of the shelf. Both vegetable drawers are badly cracked, falling apart and one doesnt even stay secure on the track. Even all three of the door ban shelves are cracked with fractures along the sides and bottom. Weve resorted to putting clear packing tape just to hold the shelves together.We contacted Whirlpool, who owns Maytag and because our fridge is 4 years outside of the 1 year warranty, they could do nothing for us. In over 30 years of owning refrigerators, this is the first time Ive seen every shelf and bin crack the way this fridge has and in less than 5 years no less! Whirlpools solution to our issue was to send my call to their Parts Department. The total cost to replace all the cracked shelves, bin drawers plus the ice/water dispenser panel is $702.28. No thanks, thats as much as a new fridge. Whirlpool should be utterly ashamed of their total lack of Customer Satisfaction by distributing such a piece of junk. Who would have thought that an appliance costing a couple hundred dollars would be considered as disposable as an aluminum pan and in only 5 years! One thing is for sure, I will certainly think carefully again on ever buying another Whirlpool product again since they are so apt to take my money only for me to repurchase an expensive appliance again in less than 5 years.

This Bravos top load was supposed to be energy efficient but after leaking and getting a repair estimate ($79) the technician informed me that the ring and putter tub (all cheap plastic) had several large holes in thin caused by an uneven load. Total cost of repair was $517 for a $900 washer after 3 years. He suggested that the Maytag was junk and that I buy a speed queen...LOL. When I called Maytag of course they lied and said they were not aware of any problems and would not help with the cost of repairs. Can everyone say Class Action Lawsuit...Shame on Maytag! DO NOT BUY THIS washing machine!

My dishwasher is 9.5 months old. The computer board needs to be replaced and they cannot find the part. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks since I called in the repair which is under warranty. I was told they have 10 business days to search the country. Really search the country. Does anyone know what will happen if they cannot find the parts I need?

Im so mad over my new purchase on the XL Bravo washer and dryer and Home Depot will not return. I have 3 kids and a hard working husband. My clothes do not come out clean no matter what cycle I use. It takes forever just to wash one load. If you spill something on your clothes and it dries crusty it will come out of the washer crusty. I want to cry. So much money wasted and cant get our money back. Would never recommend a washer without an agitator. Towels come out soaking wet, and dont spin dry if heavy...forget washing a blanket. 4th day using the dryer and now there is no heat. What was I thinking!! So mad and sad too!

I purchased a Maytag over the range microwave a couple of years ago when I had my kitchen remodeled. I have had it repaired twice already. Each time, it cost over $150. I bought this product with confidence that it was a quality product. To say the least, I am very disappointed and I will never buy this brand again. My previous microwave lasted over 15 years without a single problem. The only reason that I got rid of it was to have matching appliances. It was not a Maytag. I am looking to buy a new microwave and I will be sure to look at the reviews to prevent being suckered again!

Some difficulty in cleaning the range around the burners when spatters occur, no matter what you use it is very tight to get around the actual burner to remove that residue. I have tried many approaches and several types of cleaners to get the residue marks off the brushed stainless surface.

This Maytag oven has lasted my mom for over twenty years. Now after her passing the oven is now serving me and my family. Have had it soon to be three years. Just now having to replace one of the eyes.

Our Maytag washer 4000 series was installed on September 2010. Within 12 months and 5 days, we are now waiting for our second spin bearing to be replaced. It is a repair that takes 2 guys and 2 hours, and they basically have to replace the guts of the machine. I can imagine this is, at minimum, a $500 repair. We didnt buy the extended warranty, but luckily, the appliance shop was able to talk Maytag into eating the cost since we were only 5 days out. With the purchase of our new house, we upgraded from our appliance allowance to this model. With everything going on with the new house and selling our old one, I didnt do my normal internet searches for customer reviews and that was a mistake!Maytag has since sent us a warranty extension offer for $350, covering 3 more years. I guess Ill be buying that. It sucks that you pay top dollar for a washer only to find out that you have to pay an extra 40% just to keep it running for 4 years. No more Maytags for me, ever. Note to Maytag, you sell junk and your business goes into the ground. You are selling junk! Stop trying to squeeze every penny out of design and build, or you wont have a job.

Me and my wife bought a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot. The top half freezes up in a big way and it gets real frosted up I have to pull it apart every 2 months to defrost it. The bottom half starts to get warm if I dont do that. I will not ever buy another Maytag refrigerator again.

Purchased this oven at Lowes on 2/8/2018 for $1925. Worked good until my wife cleaned the lower oven on 11/22/2019. The next morning the oven was locked and nothing would work. We called for service and the repair bill was $194.55. I told the repairman that the oven had a 10 year warranty on it, one year on everything and the rest on the parts only. He said no, and showed me in the warranty book that it only covered two parts. Which was not the two parts he had to replace. If you purchase a oven with self-clean feature, I would recommend that you do not use it.

So we bought the whole Maytag kitchen appliance FZ (fingerprint resistant) series suite. That was such a mistake! Id give the part numbers but I think this applies to Maytag in general as it sounds like all of their appliances suck. Ours are 1½ year old and I already want new ones. Over $3,600 for junk. We knew it was no Viking or Sub Zero but didnt expect to flush $4k down the toilet either.The microwave is an over the range type and we have it vented to the outside of the house. The vent works like crap to remove the steam when you have a large pot of water boiling on the stove top. I can put the fan on high and barely any steam goes up the vent, most of it ends up soaking the microwave door to the point where I have to towel it off. The vent will hold up a paper towel so I know its pulling air but the location of the vent in relationship to the large front burners makes it useless. And the self cleaning is as others have already stated - A joke.We bought the fingerprint resistant SS and I would rather have the fingerprints than all of the scratches. Today, and this is no BS, I had a lottery ticket on the fridge under a magnet and I pulled the ticket because I wanted to check the numbers, well I slid the paper about 4 inches while it was still on the fridge under the magnet and now we have these fine scratches everywhere I did this. It wasnt the magnet because it has a felt backer on it, I took the paper off and slid the magnet all over the place, no scratching. I cant believe a piece of paper would even leave a mark at all. This is aside from some larger scratches that someone in the house must have used a feather duster on it or something.The French door fridge is loud and the ice maker is huge! The slide out basket in the freezer always gets cockeyed and stuck like its coming off the track. To line up the door tops you have to adjust the feet on the bottom of the fridge. I have to put ours out of level to get the door tops to line up, well this makes it look terrible in the cabinet space so you have to make a choice of what is uglier - thats just bad engineering. Our old fridge (GE) you could adjust the doors right on the bottom of the door. Its like they forgot this and said, Well you can just tip it one way or another to get them to line up, ya lets put that in the manual. The dishwasher sucks, plan on rinsing everything, even the silverware doesnt come clean. No its not our water.We are so disappointed in this brand which used to be considered very good, what the heck happened? Ship manufacturing over to China? And another thing, I highly doubt this is stainless steel. I know there is ferritic and martensitic stainless that are magnetic but Id bet all of my appliances that this is just regular carbon sheet steel with some coating on it to give a stainless steel look. All except for the range, that is different and doesnt scratch like the fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. Not sure why but probably has to do with the heat so they couldnt use this junk coating, just a guess though. Anyway it doesnt matter, all of the appliances are a complete waste of money. Poor design, poor performance, poor durability, pure junk!

Maytag Jetclean EQ Plus Dishwasher - We purchased the dishwasher in June of 2014. Recently the control panel decided it wont work. There is power to the unit. I am told that the unit is no longer in warranty so we have to pay for everything.

The control panel and the electronic control box had to be replaced after only two years of use. It cost almost as much as a new dishwasher (492 dollars). The model of the Maytag dishwasher is MDB77479SBM3. This dishwasher looks good from the outside and runs quite but the electronics are cheap and cant stand heat without melting. My wife and I are retired and only used this washer about twice per week. It looks good, cost 650 bucks and it is a pile of junk. No more Maytag in our house. We had this machine installed in July of 2014... It crapped out in July of 2016.

We bought a Maytag Dishwasher Model # MDB4709AWW4 about 2 years ago. Complete piece of junk. Just spent $350 on a new control panel. We called Maytag and they told us that our model wasnt under the recall for this issue. The old belief about the Maytag repairman not being busy is a lie. Avoid their products. They are poor quality.

My fridge and freezer got warm and compressor is not running. It is not even 8 years old. I replaced start relay and start capacitor. It cost me $75, from Maytag store. I worked two days the bam! It’s broke again. It’s a Maytag junk, now what? I have two kids in college. It will cost me $100 for a service call. Our food is ruined.

I have a MGDB850WR0 Maytag Dryer. I have had to replace the thermo sensor/heat sensor three times in the past three years. Dryer takes forever to dry. I spoke to the repairman who told me in confidence that his company receives a lot of calls about this specific dryer for the same reason. He said the part was originally made faulty and thats why it keeps going out. The part being the thermo sensor/heat sensor.

Maytag Centennial eco conserve clothes washer - I purchased a Maytag (non-agitating) washer, (model MVWC400XW) just about a year ago and I cant tell you how dissatisfied I am with this product. It does not clean the simplest of soil from garments. I have actually had clothes come out of the washer after a complete wash cycle, with dry clothes. They recommend putting soap in first, at the bottom of the washer and then load clothes; I have had clothes come out stained as a result the clothes sitting on top of the soap. I am requesting that I be able to return (have this washer picked up) from my home and replaced with a washer with an agitator or a compatible washer that actually washes clothes. I believe that this may qualify as a lemon with regards to California lemon laws.

I just bought my first home and after well over 20 years of apartment living and not having my own washer & dryer I was so excited to finally be able to buy one! I decided on the Maytag/Bravos and even spent the extra $100 for the glass top. The high efficiency machine was delivered on August 8, 2016. My kids are grown so its just me; I do one load a week give or take. A week or so ago, I noticed the washer was taking an inordinate amount of time to go from sensing to washing and even longer to get into the washing cycle. This past weekend, it didnt work at all. Just sat for hours with the sensing and washing lights on, without actually washing the clothes. The machine was packed loosely with the correct amount of High Efficiency Detergent in the proper place. I called the #Sears store I purchased the appliance from (Braintree Ma.) and they said there was nothing they could do as it was past 30 days, gave me their customer solutions number which is basically a call center with people who I could barely hear and/or understand. They in turn gave me more phone numbers which seemed to me to be in the same call center. I want to return the 4 month old washing machine that doesnt work and I want my money back. Ive filed a report with the Massachusetts Attorney General Consumer Affairs Department. I will NEVER AGAIN shop at #Sears and I will NEVER AGAIN purchase a #Maytag appliance. I am beyond disappointed in #Sears and #Maytag, both names that used to mean quality and customer service. And if theres a class action lawsuit to be filed, please count me in.

Maytag Washer over 3 years old. Often problematic not functioning smoothly! Maytag invented this defective machine to intentionally rob the customer with all the probs that comes with it - poor design & quality, & not logistically programmed! I was told to at first to just leave the door open, then when that did not work I was told that I should bleach my machine at least once a week which I did. That did not work either. Then I was told to buy the product REFRESH and that would take care of the smell. That did not work either. So I am at my wits end with the stench of my clothes.

My husband purchased the Maytag Bravo December 2013. We immediately started noticing clothes been destroyed and stains still in clothes. We immediately contacted Whirlpool and shared our concerns and they sent out technician. He stated that the motherboard was gone. After repairing the motherboard, that do not stop our clothes from being destroyed and making them clean. I have wrote numerous letter to the CEO of whirlpool and sent pictures. When they decide to call you back months have passed and still they do not want to help you. Whirlpool have refused to take responsibility for a bad product they invented. They do not stand by their mission. Someone please help the consumer, because this big corporation refuse.

Purchased a new set of Maytag Bravos appliances in 2010. Washer lasted 3 years -- had a failed bearing and repairman said not worth fixing as tub would most likely also need to be replaced. Replaced with a new Speed Queen which has been operating trouble-free. Today dryer quit heating -- repair person stated it needs a new board -- not worth it to me. I am off to now purchase a new Speed Queen dryer. What happened to Maytag quality???

My new Maytag washing machine does NOT CLEAN clothes or anything else. Waste of money. I have soft water, use bleach, hot water, Tide. I have even tried adding some baking soda. No use. I cannot wait until I can find a washing machine that works.

We bought a Maytag Bravos XL MCT Washer from Lowes in Oct of 2016. We had cycle issues with it in Sept of 2018 and called the Appliance Repair Service. IT was determined that the Electronic Control board and UIC was bad and needed to be replaced. Estimated cost - +$700.00. We bought Maytag because we thought it was dependable. Not so. Less than two years of use and repairs are more than we paid for machine ($639.00). Receipt would not upload.

As others have stated, cant wash more than a couple towels or 2 pair of blue jeans. The washer is useless. Purchased Maytag for quality and received crappy worthless machine. Maytag should take returns and refund buyers money!

Control panel broken for a second time in 23 months: I purchased a Maytag dishwasher less than 2 years ago at Home Depot. 11 months later, the control panel went out. Specifically, the start/cancel buttons stopped working. A service tech called me under warranty; the control panel was shipped to me, and the tech fixed it. He also told me that they had had numerous problems with the control panels.13 months later, the control panel went out; specifically, the start/cancel buttons stopped working (sounds familiar). I can get nothing from Maytag, except a demand for service fees or sales pitches for extended warranties (at a price that was half of what the dishwasher cost new). They also offered me the free part as long as I pay the service call fees. I told them to just to ship me the part and that Id do it myself. Nope. I must pay the repairman. Now, theyll ship me the part if I pay for it, but they wont ship me the free part. It only comes with a service call.Maytag also told me that there were no reports of problems with the start/cancel button, an obvious lie with a quick internet search. The customer service rep sounded like she knew I was getting treated badly and kept using the word policy. Her supervisor was much more cocky and made sure I knew that I wasnt getting anything from her company.They make horrible products, attach what once was a good name, provide zero customer service, and lie to your customers. Great business practices. I will never purchase a Maytag product again.

Spent $2,000 on Maytag washer and dryer in September of 2020 thinking we were buying quality and a company that backs their products. Forward to January 2021 and were not able to schedule service through their website. Not able to get anyone to answer their phones. Called what used to be our local Maytag service and they told me Whirlpool took over Maytag warranty service and cancelled all the contracts for local repair shops. So, not only do we have a 4 month old washer I wish we had never bought, we cant even the Maytag to service it under their warranty! Never again...

I Hate this machine. It does an inferior job and I wish I never bought it. Our Bravos XL washer was purchased in spring. It left white residue constantly on my clothes. Even WORSE, the machine wrinkled the permanent press so the clothes had to be ironed before wearing. (I rarely had this with my last washer). I used the machine settings correctly and I called the company and basically...was told, Youre out of luck. I hoped that it would improve but No Way! Dont purchase this machine, dont waste your $$$.

When my stackable washer finish its complete cycle, there is water left in the tub. You can manually turn the tub and you can hear water sloshing around.

I purchased a Maytag side-by-side, model MSD2656DEQ, in June 2000. First service call within a couple of months was for a very noisy ice dispenser, which the tech said was normal. Other than the noise, the dispenser has worked fine. Aug. 2005, the freezer frosted up and the tech replaced the defrost timer and defrost thermostat. May 2010, I had the same problem again and again these two parts were replaced. This morning, I found the food thawing in the freezer, 3 1/2 yrs since last repair. It is Sunday so will have to call tech tomorrow. Third repair in 13 years for a $1500 (2000 year dollars) Maytag. I have never had an appliance with so many problems and it was the most money I ever spent on an appliance. I am done buying Maytag products.

This dryer ripped a gaping hole with sharp shards of metal exposed. It was working fine, and then it made a weird noise. It stopped and I assumed my laundry was done. We go to remove clothing and cut hand open on exposed metal. As if that wasnt bad enough, several hundreds of dollars in clothing had cuts in them. This dryer worked great for years, and out of the blue this happened. Im a widowed disabled mother, and cant afford a new dryer.

After seeing all the bad reviews about Maytag I decided to write my review, we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 1990 when moving into our new home, and we still have the same set. Now it does not have a motherboard which I feel today is the major problem with most appliances. Get away from the motherboards. Turn the machine on and off when its supposed to, or let it run its Cycles. Dont overfill, because this causes wearing motor parts. The dryer belt wore out on the dryer but that was an easy replacement. Im a woman of 64 and get it myself. Maytag I hope that you get back to the plain ol simple washer and dryer because mine is probably going to wear out which I hope not but I would so love to get the same set I got now.

Maytag Microwave MMV4205DW-1 - This microwave made it one year and one month before the door would no longer latch shut and the control panel stopped working altogether. Called Maytag and was told not under warranty. It was going to cost more to repair than to purchase a new microwave that was a different brand.

I tried emailing Maytag but from what I read on consumer reports I doubt Ill get an email back. After our 20 plus year old Kenmore fridge was taken by hurricane Sandy I decided to try Maytag. What junk! We have a bottom freezer and were getting water build up on the bottom under the basket. In order to keep the water from leaking on floor I had to chop the ice out of the bottom every 2 days. My husband got frustrated and took the whole freezer apart only to find all the coils were covered in ice. Soon after that the ice maker stopped working. Tried different things to get it working. We finally took it apart and found the factory did not screw in all the screws on the inside so they fell out on the circuit board and shorted the thing out. Lucky it didnt burn the house down. All I can say is junk! Do not buy!

Our washer sounds like an airplane taking off. Called a repair man and the repairs are $690.00. The washer cost $999.00; such a waste of money. I called Maytag and they say there is nothing they can do. I will NEVER buy a Maytag again.

We purchased a Maytag Gemini with serial number D40941338 and model number MGR6875AD826. It has been a complete disaster. The control panel keeps breaking down, and its now going to be replaced for the 6th time. I have asked for a new stove when I called the Maytag Extended Warranty Department, and they will not replace this defective product. Please help me.

Washer model mvwc200bw1 c43942055 -Worst washing machine ever! The clothes come out all twisted together, I cant even see how the washer works because the lid locks when washing! The sound the washer makes while washing sounds like its barely even washing the clothes! I will never purchase any Maytag products and I wish I could return this one!! So disappointed, Im sticking with Whirlpool!! Plus the clothes dont even get that clean!!

Oven door glass shatters after 6 years of having this oven and the company refuses to cover it. According to them it is not a safety concern. It is actually designed to shatter this way. Wow, thats comforting. Should be 0 stars not 1 star.

Maytag Range Precision Touch Control 800 Electric Smoothtop - The racks in the oven fall down. I have replaced them with new ones but am having the same problem. I emailed my concerns to Maytag a few months ago but didnt get any response (so perhaps I didnt go to the right site). The oven was purchased in early 2008 and this is the only problem I have had with it. If I am extremely careful, I can bake cookies but if I try baking or roasting anything heavy, the racks fall. It is very frustrating but I was pleased, for lack of a better word, to see that someone else was having the same problem - at least I know it isnt just me. I will try contacting Maytag again.

Has anyone talked to an attorney to see if a class action can be filed? My fridge is leaking, sheets of ice on floor of freezer, and ice maker doesn’t work. Looks like it’s the norm for these. Please post if you have spoken with an attorney. If no one has, I am going to.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology washer in September 2010 which is less than two years ago. It decides to stop spinning correctly in the Spin cycles. Clothes come out sopping wet so I contacted Maytag to have a tech come out. On the day that the tech came out from A&E Factory Service, he stated it was a switch. He changed the switch and still, it did not spin correctly. He then proceeds to state that it is another part, which again, it did not do the function correctly. He then proceeded to state that it is the clutch, then the transmission. The cost was raising to $519.00.I stated that I did not want to proceed because I would be purchasing a new washer with that quote. I stated to place all the original parts back onto the washer. He did so, but did not place them on correctly. The casing of the washer no longer is secured to the drum - bolts and plastic pieces are still on the side. He left my house with finger prints of grease on the walls. If this is the workmanship that Maytag recommends, then my business deserves to go elsewhere.A complaint was filed with the A&E Factory Service. However, no one has contacted me about the complaint as was requested. All I want is for my washer to be fixed or to have a tech who is knowledgeable to come out and fix it. I contacted Maytag to inform then of the situation and they stated that all their techs are certified. I do not believe that my washer of less than two years old could possibly have so many parts that are faulty. I hope that this may, in turn, help another consumer to avoid purchasing washers through Maytag and their parent company, Whirlpool.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator and right away had a loud noise. Found out the ice maker was on even though we dont have it hooked up. Now our freezer isnt working. Food is defrosting and ruined. Bottom half of refrigerator is freezing everything. Our fruit and pop and water and lettuce all frozen. 4th time they came which is today. Now says our freon is low so well see what happens. The repairman was so rude he was yelling. We said our Popsicles turned to slush so he said, Dont buy any. He was so nasty. No more Maytag for us – waste of money. Even had the compressor replaced. Wasted 1100.00.

March 7th. My refrigerator ice door started flapping and the lights flickering. The next day it quit working. I called Maytag. They said they would have someone come fix it the next week. The repair service people called me back the same day to tell me that the part I needed has been on back order for 2 months. I called Maytag back. They told me to wait a week they put out an all alert for the part. I called back in a week. Now they tell me its 2 months. This is ridiculous and a huge inconvenience. I will not buy anything again from Maytag. $2,800.00 refrigerator should last a minimum of 20 years. This should be a recall. Thousands of people are having this problem.

I bought this washer brand new in 2011 for $650. I had bought a Maytag washer before in 1967 and it was still running in 1995 when I gave it away. Considering my first Maytag lasted me nearly 30 years (Last I heard the machine was still running in 2005), I never thought my new Maytag would give me any problems, until it was at least 10 years old. (I did know Maytag had been bought by Whirlpool but didnt expect any difference in quality). Boy, was I wrong! After using it for a month the machine broke down and it had to have the clutch and gear box replaced. Last week July 2016 the machine broke down again. It was the internal computer (referred to as the electric control unit) a printed circuit board that retails for approximately $300 (A ridiculous price given that much more complicated laptop and tablet computers today can be brought for $100, the circuit board should retail for no more than $40).With labor the repair bill came to $550, which was nearly as much as a new machine and did not justify the cost. Supposedly the electric control is susceptible to current surges and power outages. Given that this is the case, it makes no sense whatsoever that a machine billed as eco-friendly would carry a part that will doom it to the junk pile because of a power surge or outage and does not carry a surge protector. After learning of my experience Maytag called me the next day and offered to sell me a new Maytag at a discount price, which of course I flat-out refused.I would never ever again own a Maytag appliance or one made by its new owner (as of 2005) Whirlpool. With such susceptible electric units these appliances will sooner or later result in electric fires that will end the life of its owners. The US govt needs to protect US citizens from these predatory companies that make over-prized, throwaway products labeled as eco-friendly that are potentially dangerous. My advice for anyone that is thinking of buying a Whirlpool or Maytag washer dont do it. For those that already own these machines do not run them without a heavy duty surge protectors. It is not worth your life.

Bought new washer and dryer from Home Depot. The worst washer and dryer I ever bought. Own 11 house all have washer and dryers. Bought Maytag on brand reputation. Washer does not rinse close at all. They come out full of lint and soap. It rips sheets up. Takes like 70-90 minutes to wash and close have to be washed over cause they dont rinse out. Dryer takes (2) runs to dry. Depot said they couldnt take them back. $300 Roper washer and dryer work much better than these units I paid like $1100.00 for. Maytag reputation is **. I have Amana front loads in another house that wash in 29 minutes and they come out perfect. Amana dryer works great also. DONT BUY MAYTAG ON THEIR ** REPUTATION AND CONSUMER SERVICE WONT DO ANYTHING!!! I would add the receipt but it just a waste of time.

Maytag Bravos XL - I purchased my maytag washer & gas dryer on 5/12/12. In Dec 2012 the heating element went out. I had to wait a week for a repairman to come out on Dec. 20 to fix it. Now for the second time on Dec. 30th, 2014 the heating element has gone out. I called for a repairman to come out. I have to wait until Jan. 12th 2015 for service. I have 8 people in my home including 3 grandchildren. This length of waiting is ridiculous and very inconvenient.

Bought a new maytag gas range march 2013 model #mgr8674ab. The oven would not light at all. Would just click. Still under warranty. Called the service. They came and had to replace the controls in back. 2 months later the same thing, only this time it comes on and goes right back off. Then a week ago got it to light, used the oven and tried to turn it off and it would go off but immediately light up again. Scary to say the least. Another call to service. They are coming tomorrow. This is November 12 2013. I would not buy another maytag gas stove. There is something terribly wrong with this model.

Dryer doesn’t wash all the clothes and the dryer doesn’t dry anything correctly. All, regardless of materials or size of load, comes out damp. Repairman’s excuse was that it’s a learning curve(?) and our dryer vent was the cause (which it wasn’t as we had it checked out and there was nothing in it) and that was it. Very disappointed in the washer and dryer and now the company where we bought them as it seems that we’re stuck with over $2K worth of equipment that doesn’t wash or dry well. We’re awaiting to speak with manager for a replacement of anything not Maytag. Not holding our breath and definitely not a happy customer.

I really love my front loader and it has no agitator to rip pockets and tear off buttons. The tub is very large and I can wash king quilts. I do miss being able to fill the tub and put in additives and then add the clothes to soak.

Theres always a problem with this thing. It doesnt clean the clothes, its always off balance, and now it leaks from the bottom side of the machine in the clean washer cycle. Its only 2 1/2 years old. Should of listened to the guy who fixed my old machine. Dont get a Maytag!
