Bought the washer last week. Balanced it per installation instructions. Washed several loads. The darn thing goes off balance almost routinely. Have rechecked the level on several occasions and found it LEVEL. Contacted Maytag. The lady I spoke with said to just use it and it will level itself out. So much for Maytag help! This will be the LAST Maytag product I buy.

Bought va washer. Trying to upgrade. Water fills about 1/3 of way even on bulky setting. Supposed to be high efficiency. Detergent does not get all the way out because there is no enough water. Have to put it through 2 rinse cycles. Worst machine. Design is flawed. Clothes all wrinkled. I cant afford to buy clothes and have them ruined. Man must have designed. Hate the washer. Im poor and they want take it back... want my money back. I cant buy washer every day. I will keep on complaining. No customer service. People just put you off. It is a Centennial high efficiency. A piece of junk.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model number MDB7749SBM in May of 2013. In August the dishwasher control panel stuck on Rinse only cycle. It has been stuck on this cycle for a month. I contacted Maytag and they walked me through a reset. It has not worked. It looks to me as if the control panel has failed. This seems to be a common problem with the Maytag dishwashers. As soon as the warranty expires, so does the dishwasher. I purchased this dishwasher from Home Depot for over $600 thinking I was buying a quality product. My previous dishwasher was also a Maytag, even a lower end one that lasted almost 14 years! This one has not even lasted 14 months!!I was told by Maytag that I could purchase an extended warranty for $267.45 that would last a year. I believe, 4402 based on other reviews that I will be dumping more money into this one even after that. Very disappointed!! I will never buy another Maytag product again! I should have bought the Bosch. It was roughly the same price and high quality. I bought Maytag based on my previous experience. No More!!

BUYER BEWARE!!! We purchased a Maytag Dishwasher mdbh979sab1 on November 23, 2012. It is now July 31, 2014. One year and a half and the control panel is not working. Ive looked at estimates online of $450.00 for parts and labor. Customer service is no help at all, nothing they can do. She actually recommended KitchenAid for our next appliance. Maytag has become a terrible brand. We will never buy from them again. By the way, they also made our Jenn Air Oven, which turned itself on a number of times while we were away. 350 degrees. That was a total loss as well. We are filling up landfills with our Maytag/Whirlpool appliances and you will too.

This is the second Maytag appliance in less than 5 years to stop working. The first was a dishwasher. I got 14 months use out of before the control panel burned out. Fixed it for $125 only to have it happen again in 6 months and repair company said parts are only 3 months warranty. Cost me $5 to bring to landfill. Now the matching Refrigerator is making a loud humming noise and Ive been told its the compressor.

I have had a Maytag Bravo Model MVWX500XW0. Bought less than 3 yrs ago for over $550. Four days ago, the drum would not turn during wash or spin. It would act like it was going to turn but then the door lock lid kept flashing. Today Maytag repairman came by and put in a new lock circuit. Instead of fixing the problem, it made it worse. The washer started making rapid clicking sounds and finally the lid lock stopped working altogether. The repairman could not get his computer to even do a diagnostic. Instead he calls his boss who says it must be the motherboard, a $300 part. My research indicates that Maytag almost always says replace motherboard and customers find that doesnt work either. Ive never had a washer last less than 10 years. Three years for a high-priced washer is mind boggling. Ive also never had a repairman make things worse by installing new part but that happened. I will never buy a Maytag product again, even if its owned by Whirlpool, which used to be a name you could count on.

Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 - Just DONT BUY this junk. We bought the washer and dryer set from Home Depot in 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with the washer. Three times small objects like dimes, pennies and nickels got past the agitator into the drain pump which has been replaced twice. Beneath the agitator we even found a few missing socks. Today after a visit to the Laundromat, we bought a Samsung with a 5 year extended warranty. If that doesnt work it will be an old fashioned Speed Queen next. We will never buy anything Maytag again and I hope to influence everyone we meet about them. I cant wait to throw it into the city landfill for recycle dog food cans.

My Maytag (MDBH955AWB) dishwasher (not even 6 years old) is losing its prongs that help the dishes to stand up. They are corroded at the bottom and snap right off, leaving the dishes without support and banging into each other. We are only a family of 3 so it gets moderate to minimal use. The bottom basket costs $200 to replace, a third of the cost of a brand new dishwasher. Everything else about it is fine but my dishes will be chipping away. I cant believe Maytag made the basket so poorly that it doesnt last the lifetime of the dishwasher.

Washer leaves spots on clothes and massive knots in clothes. The serviceman has been here twice since we bought it and was told to use extra wash option and heavy load wash with fabric softener option as well, and to only use about one tablespoon of detergent. So much for the green option! Results, still washing clothes 2 or 3 times per load then into the dryer. Tried an experiment - washed a pair of my daughters white capris and then washed them at a friends house while water was saved in a separate tub. Holy crap, the dirt in the water. Do not buy this machine. Not even if it is offered to you for free.

On February 2006, I purchased a Maytag Quiet Series 300 Dishwasher and on July 2007, a motor leak. Maytag fixed it for free even though it was out of warranty. Thereafter (December 2008), the touch pad failed and I replaced it for $50. It is now August 2011, and that new touch pad is bad again, and this time, the part is $170. The Maytag will not run and the lighted display will not function from the start button. This was a $450 dishwasher that is now only five years old and useless. In all fairness to Maytag, their customer service is very good and willing to work with customers. Unfortunately, the product is very inferior in my opinion. To have stupid stuff like a control touch pad failing every three years is absurd and the replacement cost makes fixing it a bad investment.I will be going out this weekend and buying a brand-new inexpensive dishwasher that is on sale for $229. This model is not a Whirlpool product but it is a name brand.

Purchased a new Maytag washer (MAH5500BWW) and matching dryer along with the pedestal that they sit on in late November of 2003. Spent well over $1900.00 for everything including the delivery charge. I noticed the build up of mold/mildew inside the washer starting in early 2005 but cleaned it every week or so and it seemed to go away. As time went along the mold/mildew smell got stronger even after each cleaning that I did with bleach. Nothing seemed to help.It wasnt until 3 days ago when I had my dryer vent cleaned by a professional company that the technician looked over at the washer and said You know that washer was recalled and that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag about mold/mildew issues involving that model. He opened up the washer door and looked and was shocked. He told me that he himself had the same Maytag model washer and was notified by Maytag years ago about the class action lawsuit. He told me that he had received what he called a buy back check from Maytag. I wondered why I had not been notified since I had purchased both units new and registered both with Maytag after my purchase.I decided to do a search for my washer model number and looked for mold/mildew issues and was shocked to find thousands of complaints involving this issue with this model of washer. I then called Maytag/Whirlpool and this is where the fun begins. I called and explained to the customer service rep at Maytag/Whirlpool what the problem was with my washer and asked her why I was never notified of any recall or class action lawsuit involving my washer. After thinking for a minute or two she says that she is unaware of any problems with my model of washer and asked me to recheck my model number. I do this and again she says that she is unaware of any problems associated with my washer. I explain to her about the thousands of complaints on the internet about this mold/mildew problem and she then says I shouldnt believe everything I read on the internet. At this point I ask to speak to her supervisor which she says she transfers me to and the fun continues. The supervisor then tells me that the customer service rep whom I was speaking with is new and doesnt remember the issues with my model of Maytag washer but she herself does remember the issue of mold/mildew build up inside the washer. I ask her why wouldnt this issue of mold/mildew in this washer be in your system for this rep to be able to refer to? She then says that since this issue was so long ago its not in their system anymore. Huh???She asks me if I was part of the class action lawsuit involving this washer and I explain to her that I was never notified of any such lawsuit so I couldnt have been part of it. She then says that Maytag has since settled this issue long ago and since I missed signing up for the class action lawsuit I was just out of luck. Somehow its now my fault for them not notifying me about the class action lawsuit years ago!She then offers to send out a repair person to look at my washer and to look at the mold/mildew problem. I ask her if the service call was free and she snickered and said no, why would it be free? I tell her I thought it should be free because I paid nearly $2000.00 for these machines because I was looking to get the top of the line machines. Now I have a mold/mildew infested Maytag washer that smells and looks so bad its a assumed health risk. She again tells me that the service call will not be free and asks if I want her to schedule it now. I quickly decline! She then tries explain to me in some odd fashion that I should be happy that I got 10 years of service from my washer/dryer and hoped that I would continue to purchase Maytag. What??? Are you crazy woman!? Now its me who is laughing at this point. I almost say some very bad things to her but better judgment takes hold and I just hang up. Now you have heard my story and Im now looking for another washer/dryer so I can remove this health hazard from my home. I will never ever buy anything that has a Maytag/Whirlpool named attached to it.

Im currently standing in front of my washing machine waiting for the 13-minute drain and spin cycle to finish because once again my load didnt drain and finish right. Except it has already been 40 minutes and it claims there is still 9 more left as it continues to sit there doing nothing while it hasnt even started spinning yet. It Sat on 13 minutes while sensing for over 5 minutes, then 12 for 10 minutes while doing nothing, then it changed to 11 minutes and made some weird noises but didnt actually do anything for 15 minutes, and now the timer randomly changed from 11 to 9 without any noises or movement happening and now continues to sit here.I stupidly thought I could spin my clothes real quick to throw them in the dryer before bed and now I stand here extremely tired and very irritated. I also have no doubt some of the clothes will have holes in them when theyre done because they always do, my family looks like were homeless and ratty half the time we get dressed now. Also it never deep cleans thoroughly even on the toughest settings, I swear our socks can be washed 3 times in a row after being soaked all day and still come out crusty or a lot of times the armpits of shirts will still smell or be ultra stained with deodorant marks still. This technology is almost too advanced and everything is decided by sensor, regardless of the registered functions on the buttons it will still do what it wants as the sensors see fit and run when they decide everything is perfect and ready, including taking 10 minutes just to unlock the lid when you pause a load cuase a small child may drown in the foot of water or a person may have their life completely altered by getting a little bit wet if the machine isnt completely drained and in pristine condition before you open the door. This machine is terrible. This company is terrible. And worst of all they drain your wallet for these horrible contraptions. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.

My refrigerator was delivered on April 3, 2016. I began calling for service July 2 when the bottom freezer door started depositing ice chunks on my kitchen floor every time we opened it. An appointment for service was made for July 18, service never showed up. Another appointment for August 3 was made and again service never came. I called the 800 number on Aug 19 again arranged service for Aug 24 after hours so that we did not have to take anymore time off work. When repair finally looked at the fridge they said the door was not aligned and did not close so the frost builds up and breaks off onto the floor. This can be fixed with a new door that can take from 6 weeks to 8 months as they are not stocked and have to be made at a factory. The fridge constantly runs and is starting to leak water through to my kitchen floor and basement ceiling tiles.I called Maytag/Whirlpool on Aug 25 and the service agent told me the best they could do for me was extend my original warrant by 6 months while I wait for replacement part and they advised I purchase the extended warranty. The second agent named Gabby I spoke to advised me to call Home Depot where I purchased the fridge to see if they would do something for me. She would write down my concerns but had nothing more to say or do for me since the repair person deemed the unit repairable and a part has been ordered. I called Home Depot on Aug 25 and I spoke to Appliance Dept who told me the manager who could help me was off that day. He advised me to stick weather stripping around the door to seal the leaks. I said I was hesitant to do anything that may void a warranty and he agreed. He suggested I may get a loaner fridge but I have heard nothing yet. I want a replacement fridge. When you pay $2000 for a fridge it should be worry free for at least a year? I have been reading reviews and I am wondering why this is not a recalled appliance as this seems to be a very common problem. I am sad that Whirlpool is not standing behind this product. Home Depot has been in touch with me regarding this fridge issue and the lack of customer service provided by Maytag. They are replacing the fridge on Sept 9th 2016 and taking the old unit away. Home Depot has tried to get in touch with Maytag and they have not gotten a response at all about my faulty unit. The staff at Home Depot in Peterborough have been excellent to speak to and have apologized for the issues with getting service to my appliance. I am very grateful to them for their assistance and for following up with me in this matter. The downside is that I am getting another exact Maytag unit as a replacement so hopefully this does not start all over again. Home Depot has been a great retailer to deal with. I am very saddened to hear that even Home Depot cannot get responses from this manufacturer. I have also lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo washing machine item # 26 23872 for $617.69 on 11-23-11 and it was delivered and set up on 12-02-11. My problem is if you have dirty sweaty clothes, you cannot get them clean with such little water. I used the HE detergent as directed. I talked to a woman at the local Sears Appliance store this morning, 7-11-12, about it. She said I need to use Affresh. So I did clean my washer but with a similar brand and my clothes are still stinky. I have even washed an empty load or two with bleach and hot water. I make sure I wash with hot water and completely dry my clothes. When you take a bath and dry yourself off with a towel, it smells like a musty basement. I am allergic to mold. I cant even take a wash cloth, get it wet and wash my face without wanting to throw up from the smell. I have had guest comment on the towels as well. Its embarrassing. The problem is you cannot clean something with an inch of water in the machine. I am 58 years old and now have to do the wash. I went to the store and asked if we could return it for an exchange or anything like a discount on a new one and she would not budge. She said it had to be within 90 days but 90 days was in the middle of winter and I was not having dirty sweaty clothes from doing outdoor yard work. Now that summer is here, 7 months later, my clothes have been smelly for a few months. I cant take it anymore. I showed the woman that I had been to Lowes and had an estimate of 10% off with free delivery, set up and haul away. She said she could do 15% but when you add on the delivery fee, it was higher than Lowes. I purchased my whole upgraded kitchen stainless steel appliances for about $7,000 and this set of washer/dryer but Sears could not help me out? What a disappointment that a loyal customer such as me could not at least get free delivery on a new washer. I went right back to Lowes and ordered the same machine I wanted Sears to sell me matching Lowes price. So now, I am stuck with a 7- to 8-month-old machine still in the one year warranty that is like new but is a worthless piece of junk as my clothes all stink. Run, dont walk if someone tries to sell you a low water HE machine. I tried sending this letter to searsinfo.com corporate office and it is rejected even though the website gives you that address.

It’s pretty noisy, so much so that I have to close the door to the utility room. I guess it gets the clothes clean but it used very little water. That alone was an inconvenience. This time, the Control Loc light is lit and will not go out despite using all troubleshooting suggestions listed in the guide so the washer is not usable. 10 year warranty covers the drum. I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer several years ago after reading many reviews. I like the glass top of the washing machine and the front door glass on the dryer. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? Could it be the same branch of government that made everybody use those spiral light bulbs years ago? The fluorescence that give off loads of EMF?

I bought a top end Maytag refrigerator with the freezer in the bottom drawer. Spending the extra buck was something that I thought was worth it, being a Maytag. Fifteen yrs go by and it stops completely. It cost me 200 bucks for a service technician to tell me that the compressor or it has a leak. Its not worth repairing. With todays cience and technology, you would think that they can make a refrigerator last for 25 yrs or more, like the old ones. We went to the moon 44 yrs ago. Why cant they make them to last? I think that the corporations figured they can make more money making an inferior product that needs to be replaced every 10-15 yrs. I will never by a Maytag again.

This top load machine replaced a top of the line Maytag Neptune. It has five water levels. It has three temperature settings and four wash selections. It also has a selection for an extra rinse that I use for white loads. The washer is very reliable. Clothes come out clean with an average amount of detergent. Although this washer is more than fourteen years old, it has never needed service or repairs. By running a cleaning cycle every six months, it drains like brand new. The stainless steel drum is still as polished as it was when it was new. Even the hoses have lasted with a need for replacement.

It had always been my wish to own a Maytag washer and dryer as they were considered THE BEST! Well was I wrong!! I am on the third stainless steel drum, this one has a hole in it, need 4 wheels and pulleys, with service $542.61!!! On the average, I am having a service call every 6 months - last year we were gone for 6 months so no laundry was done, one drum was delivered and was egg-shaped. Maytag has been NO HELP! I am very disappointed with Maytag, their service and product. They HAD an excellent reputation, to me that is everything. Quality, customer service, and their word means nothing to me anymore.

MHW60X - I experienced a problem in May of 2015, and the repairman told me it was the master board, and he has seen this many times. He said that the MCU board goes out after 3.0 - 3.5 years!! This is exactly how old my machine was! The cost to repair this was almost what the machine cost, and this is unacceptable. I have had Maytag washers my entire adult life, and my prior one lasted approximately 20 years, but after this I am not sure I will consider another one in the future. To have a major part burn out soon after the warranty expires should not happen. I contacted customer service to find out the experience and reported problems on this model, but could not obtain any information, other than they have received calls about this model. I asked Maytag to reimburse me for the part - at a minimum, and they refused stating it was out of warranty and they could do nothing. Apparently they do not care about their reputation anymore, which is sad, since they used to be so well regarded!

Worse washer ever, clothes are dirty and smelly. Customer Service is even worse. After a normal cycle clothes come out half wet, never enough water in the machine. Everything gets washed on bulky and there is soap residue on everything. Have taken clothes to the laundromat on several occasions just to get them clean. I cant wait to get rid of this piece of crap!!! Never ever buying Maytag again!! Warning to everyone... DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!! And with the extended warranty, they still dont cover it. :(

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

I also have a Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher. The front panel has stopped working. It was a horrible dishwasher from the beginning. The dishes were streaky on the top rack. And I had to replace the rollers after just over a year. The upper rack has rust on it. The Maytag double ovens I bought at the same time had to be replaced within a year, as the racks damaged the porcelain interior. I also wish I had found your site before my purchases. My husband is not working now. So, I guess we will be washing dishes the old fashioned way.

WE bought all new Maytag kitchen appliances and the extended best service contract. Cost 1/2 of the cost of the appliances. This was 3 years ago. Recently dishwasher went blank. Service call was a factory neutral wire. Then ice maker replaced with a reman unit. Then we thought something was wrong with the oven cleaning system aqua lift. So after many hours and calls two service techs told us the system will not clean the oven and after many cycles it will not and the bad part is they are still selling this system to the public. Criminal. I think they should own up to the public when they do this kind of thing. On top of this I would go buy the self cleaning oven but the tech even said he will not use it because it will break and need replacement. It is no better other than you can use oven cleaner to clean the finish without the heating element and you cannot use anything that works on the aqua lift finish. Bad deal.

I absolutely do not like the fact that you can’t choose what size load you have. The washer wants to do it for you but it is not very good at it. You have to fool the washer to get any kind of water level or just use the deep fill every time which is what I do in order to get the clothes clean! This defeats the whole purpose of trying to save water. Also there are too many settings. I mean we’re just washing clothes here not flying a jet. I personally would prefer dials instead of the digital instrument panel. So much easier.

Need to run double times or extended times on most of the settings to get them completely dry. When it comes to the wrinkle free setting... what a joke. Clothes might be close to dry but wrinkled. Have always had Maytag products since forever. Tried Samsung for the last set-----washer lasted 6 years and then needed a full overhaul. Cheaper to buy a new set. Went back to Maytag. MISTAKE. I have had my Maytag set for shy of 2 full years, of actual usage time, that is. My dryer seems to be functioning normally, minus an occasional lengthy cycle time, even after the clothes are dry. The washer however, is sitting in my garage now. F51 error code, which online told me the rotary position sensor was the issue. Yes, I was told by an A&E repairman, who was at the house for an unrelated repair, that it was the bearing that was bad. When he showed me what I was looking for, there was the bearing laying in the clear plastic housing, in the underside of the washer. Its going to cost around $350.00 to get the part, if it can be found, and the service call. No, not really worth wasting more money on it. I am very unsatisfied with this unit. With 4 kids and 2 adults at home, I expected much more from the Maytag name.

I bought a Maytag washer in June and its the worst washer I have ever had.
I bought a Maytag washer in June and its the worst washer I have ever had. It has been 15 yrs since I had to buy a washer. My last washer was a Kenmore which was great. The Maytag does not have a water control knob. It has auto sensing which is crazy. I know how much water I need to wash my clothes. The water sensing barely puts water over the top of the clothes which is not what I need. My husband works in the oil field and gets oily and dirty. The next issue is the agitator that agitates the clothes. This one is a joke. The agitator starts agitating the clothes before the water is over the clothes and then when it needs to agitate it does a poor job. I am so unhappy with my machine that I am getting rid of it and looking for an old type washer. Evidently you made this washer for white collar people who do not get dirty. This is definitely not a washer for people who have dirty laundry. I am so disappointed with Maytag. I thought this was a good brand.

2013 We purchased from Lowes Maytag washer and dryer front load stackable.
2013 We purchased from Lowes Maytag washer and dryer front load stackable. We live in a house 1890. We have a closet that these units go into so we are restricted to what brand we can buy. WE read the reviews. People must lie or are paid to write good ones. Within a few weeks the washer was giving us trouble. The door latch was not closing properly and it would take up to 20-30 min. to get it to start. Called and they said the latch was stuck. Again started having problems on and off. Months went by and had another service call. Same issue. Fixed it again. 2014 again same problem. We have to order a new latch and some other part. They could not get the part. Called Maytag directly and they were back ordered. What does that tell you. This is a major problem so much so that no one anywhere had the parts. 6 wks to finally get it and got it fixed. But in the meantime, the dryer was not working correctly. The clothes were damp and lint was all over. It was like a steam bath. They came out and when they looked at the back of the dryer it was burnt. Now this is what upset me. He said it could have caught fire and burnt down our house. Nice. The dryer was shot. They said to fix it would cost more than it was worth. Our warranty gave us a new dryer. 3 wks later I have my washer and dryer back working. In the meantime we have spent more time at the laundromat than at home. Brand new washer and dryer and are going to the laundromat. We had the dryer 5 days before it stopped working. Brand new dryer. Called and got a service call. The spring on the start button was not correctly put in. Who inspects these products. This was not right from the factory. So they fix it. Said if it happened again they would need to replace the entire thing. I do not know what that means. That was Dec. End of Dec. the washing machine is not running through the cycle. It had weird display on the washer. Thought maybe it was overloaded. Had to cancel and drain and then hit drain and spin. This takes not only more time but more electricity. I put in 2 sheets and it did it again. Had a few loads that ran properly and again it started. Called for service. He comes out and the motor that runs the belt to spin and some circuit board is shot. They call 2 days later and say that no parts can be found anywhere. WTH! It is 18 mos old and already the parts are extinct. So the warranty company said it was not worth fixing. They are giving us a new washer.I remember the commercials about Maytag that the repairmen had nothing to do. Well I thought it was because they did not break down. No... they cannot find parts. This is unacceptable. We have to go through the inconvenience of them not working and schlepping to the laundromat baskets of clothes. In the winter this is not fun. We are retired. Have to walk down icy steps. I have a washer/dryer upstairs and I cannot use them. Dont work. Not just the aggravation of dealing with repairs but not getting parts available, then having to wait to get money back to order a new washer and dryer and then get the dryer and 5 days later it doesnt work. Now we have to wait 2 wks for a new washer. It better work. Have to buy the warranty over again on each product cause they fulfill it when they buy you a new product. So this costs us extra money. The money we pay at the laundromat. The cost of electricity every time we have to run the washer 3-4 times to get it to spin out the water so I can dry them.To say I am upset is an understatement. I was told by a rep at Lowes, well Maytag has about 3 lemons a yr and you just got all of them. That was their consolation to our problem. I think Maytag needs to inspect their product. Our house could have burnt down. It is not a matter of parts going bad but damn the stuff is not even 2 yrs old. And the dryer was 5 days old when it stopped working. WE had a Maytag dishwasher and it was installed brand new and did not work. It had a defect in it. I never got to wash one dish in it and it had to be repaired. So I am not happy with Maytag. You go on Facebook and tell your story and all the Maytag horror stories come out. You need to do something to save yourself. Your company name is going down the tubes. Thought you should know this.

I purchased a new Maytag from Home Depot. It was delivered and installed by them on 7/20/12. Today is 9/18/12. It is less than 2 months old and the tub is starting to shred around the upper rim. I called to get it repaired. What a nightmare. First I tried to understand a Filipino woman through a bad connection. She advised me to call a different customer service number, 1-800-688-9900. I talked to Crystal. She called up information on me using my phone number. She asked for the serial number as she had the model number available from the online registration I completed on 7/20/12. I told her I do not have that and asked where it was located. I also told her that I was unable to get it at this time as I am handicapped. She advised me that I had to show my repairman the receipt or I would have to pay a $60 service charge. I get nervous about throwing good money after bad. So I then asked why. If the serial number is so important, why is it not a required info when you register online? She had no answer. I asked to speak to her supervisor. I waited 4 minutes. Enna finally came on the line. She gave conflicting info about my online registration. She said I was not registered online (if not, how did Crystal have all my other info including my model number? Why did Crystal tell me I had registered without the serial number?). Enna told me that the repairman could key in the serial number when he gets to my house and if my washer was under warranty, I would not be charged. Again I asked why, if the serial number is so critical to the process and with all the info they seem to have on me (name, address, phone number, model number, place of purchase, date of delivery, etc.), why is the location of this very critical number is not in the owners manual? Why do they allow you to register without it online and why dont they track sales and delivery by serial number? She was unable to address these issues. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She told me she would give me her supervisors name and number (Kim, **) but she would not give me a last name or contact information. She told me that she was the highest level that I was allowed to speak with.Bottom line, my Maytag is falling apart, getting through the red tape to get it fixed under warranty is silly. Maytag ignores its own concept of tracking by serial number and does not support the use of serial number by telling you where it is located on an appliance or requiring it to register online. Calling customer service is a joke! I was mad when my new $800 washer started to fall apart. Now I am just sad with the way we allow manufacturers to treat us. Mad about the way we allow them to operate in the United States. They create junk or junk parts overseas, products fall apart over here, calls for repair get routed around the world, and then they create more red tape and call it customer service. I made one bad choice. Hopefully, you are reading this and can avoid your own.

We bought a Maytag gas range in Feb of 2011. Shortly after that, we started having an intermittent problem with the oven not maintaining the temperature. It sometimes would not heat up to the proper temp or sometimes would get there but not maintain it. We have had several service calls all for this same problem. Each time they would replace things... nothing worked! We called Maytag and they said they wouldnt replace the unit until the same part had failed 3 times. Well, the service company came out 5-6 different times in the first year and replacing the main panel twice and the sensor and some other thingies I dont even remember. Pretty soon the warranty was running out, so I bought an extended warranty due to the fact that the unit had never been fixed. They sent out two different service companies who also were unable to fix the unit. It is now 18 months since we bought it, and Maytag refuses to do anything since it is out of warranty and the extended warranty company will only replace the unit up to 75% of its cost. So yes, we are very angry with Maytag and the way they wont stand behind their product and their total disregard for their customers.

We purchased a Maytag bottom-freezer refrigerator MBL2258XES1 from Home Depot on 12/30/2011. Other than being a bit noisy, it functioned without problem for a little over two years after which we noticed water pooling on the floor, just below the left-front corner of the bottom-freezer door. It was shortly thereafter we noticed the large sheet of ice that covered the entire floor of the freezer. Over the past several months I pull out the large towel, my spatula, my meat tenderizer and break up and lift out the ice onto the towel around every two weeks. Thanks Whirlpool/Maytag! At least that Maytag repairman isnt lonely anymore.UPDATED ON 03/18/2015: I called Maytag Customer Service, (800) 344-1274 to discuss remedies for my Maytag/Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator which has a perpetual layer of ice on the floor of the freezer which leaks onto my floor. I was offered a product called Repair Plus One which includes parts and service for this repair and they throw in a 1-year warranty. The cost: $359.95. The representative informed me I only had 24 hours to make up my mind as the offer was time limited. I asked if there were any other remedies available to me and she said none other than a service call.

We were excited to finally buy a new wash set and I always wanted the Neptune ones. I had owned a Maytag for 25 years through two children and a mechanic husband. I had every confidence in the new ones and expected at least the same service. Shortly after the warranty went, the machines both started to act up. The washer would stop in the middle of the cycles. The dryer wouldnt come on or wouldnt respond to the commands. We finally contacted the local repairman whom we have used for years. He came and gave us boo-hoos about these machines. He said they were trouble and we should have never have bought them. My husband figured it was the electronics in the control panel. The repairman said the parts would cost somewhere near $500.00 to $600.00 each and proceeded to try to sell us used ones for $2,000.00. We said we would try to get the bad parts and he even gave us the stock numbers? We went online and found new ones for half the price. We bought them and put them in and they persisted in doing the same things as before. Is this a runaround or what? Who is bilking who? Another great American rip-off. What can the public do?

We are on our 2nd Maytag refrigerator in 6 years and both units have failed. Maytag will not stand behind their product and the service company declined to come out to look at the unit because we were upset and contacting the BBB. So we have spent thousands on 2 refrigerator units that have lasted 2.5 to 3 years a piece. If I could give no stars I would and I would advise to look at other companies and models.

Maytag is supposed to be the best. I wanted a top loader again. This washer is almost worthless because of the water control. I have to add buckets of water before I start the washer. Otherwise the clothes are not clean. The cycles are strange with the amount of agitation. I will continue looking for an OLD model. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.

Bought a Maytag Bravos washer 21/2 years ago... already have to buy a new washer... not a Maytag!! It started with the ul message coming on. Never could do anything to get it to go off.... then started leaking water around the bottom... bearings went out... costs more to fix than buying a new washer which is what I DID. Not a Maytag.... thought Maytags were a great product. Believe me their repairmen are always busy, not just sitting around like in their commercial.... Never buy a Maytag appliance again.

Purchased a Maytag MSD2553WEW00 refrigerator on 2/27/2011 from Home Depot. Began using it in July 2012 upon completion of home construction. In February 2014, after less than two years of service, the refrigerator was running but no longer cooling. After the expense of several part replacements and a service call, it was determined that the compressor had failed. Unlike most manufacturers, Maytag did not warrant the compressor and closed system beyond 12 months. The refrigerator looks like new but the cost of repair is prohibitive relative to purchasing another new refrigerator. Maytag was contacted but was not helpful.

We purchased a new Maytag side-by-side refrigerator back in 2011 and for the last several months it has been leaking water into the bottom of the freezer unit when it goes through the automatic defrost process. The water freezes and after a few of these cycles causing the ice to accumulate and build up, it starts to leak out onto our kitchen floor. About every 10 days we have to open the freezer door, break up the accumulated ice on the bottom of the freezer and remove the ice chunks by hand. What a pain in the neck! Most of the time we can prevent the water from escaping, but not always. This is going to damage our kitchen floor, not to mention its a safety hazard for slip and falls, and/or fire or shock hazards. We have contacted Maytag directly, but nothing will be done as they say its beyond the 12 month standard warranty. They said one option is for us to purchase an extended warranty plan from them for only $359. Really? Are you kidding me?? They dont seem to care about a potential product liability property damage claim/suit, nor an exposure for a potential bodily injury claim. As Ive tried to explain, this is NOT a warranty situation, its a product defect situation and one probably worth a class action lawsuit based on the number of complaints Im aware of. They know its a product defect problem, but choose to ignore it at the expense of numerous innocent consumers. The only resolution seems to be filing your own lawsuit against them for some kind of remedy to this very aggravating situation that occurs every 10 days or so. Maytag used to be very good appliances, ones that were made of high quality materials, and lasted for years without any problems. Thats why I became a Maytag fan in the first place, but ever since they were purchased by Whirlpool Corporation, its not the same old Maytag we used to know and love. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG APPLIANCES - you will regret it!!

On March 2011, I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7749AWB1. The dishwasher worked excellent for 16 months. One morning, with dishes loaded and ready to go, the start button would not light up. The other buttons did light up but that did me no good, I need the start button. A few days later, none of the buttons would light up. I found a repair person who said it would cost over $200.00 to make repairs. I refuse to put another penny with no guarantee that this new part would work. I will never ever buy another Maytag appliance. The last inexpensive, unknown manufacturers dishwasher lasted me 13 years. Do not waste your money on this thing.

Bought a stove in May of 2014. In July of 2014 we noticed a 1x6 stain inside the glass of the oven door. I called Maytag and they stated only 30 day warranty on cosmetic flaws. I said this was not there when we bought it. They asked if anything had boiled over because if liquids get in the vents on the oven door it can get in between the glass. I stated no, only cleaned with Stainless steel clear. They stated most likely when I sprayed the door it ran down in between the glass. I said that is a flaw. They said, no the vents are there to allow heat out. I asked if they also were designed to let liquids inside the glass, they said no, I said design flaw. They will do nothing. I also pointed out that nowhere in the owners manual is there a reference to this possibly happening. Our sons in laws have a 3 year old LG stainless steel with vents and have never had this problem. Maytag will not stand behind their products even when they are the ones at fault. Buy a different brand.

Maytag water efficient, no central spindle top load. Clothes come out with scum on them. Really a problem on the solid darks. I have to scrub with terry cloth to remove. Maytag insists this is normal. Refused to honor warranty. Usually check Consumer Reports for quality and best buy. Energy/water efficiency is important. I like to have some control over the machine so that I can use it the best way for me. Such as soak. This machine cannot be manually controlled at all. Also it doesnt have a lint catcher, doesnt filter the wash or rinse water at all. All the lint and pet hair remains on the clothes or even gets worse. The clothes are not clean. I have no way to control the machine for my use. It may be water efficient but seems to use too little water to clean the clothes. Maytag wants to blame the EPA - This is irresponsible on their part. Its an awful washing machine and they made it. Maytag continued to insist that scum on the clothes was working normally. This scum was added by the machine. I used very little detergent; the clothes were relatively clean - just lightly wore a few days. They come out of the machine with streaks of white scum that I have to scrub off. The clean the machine cycle uses a huge amount of water. This is really DUMB: washing the machine instead of cleaning the clothes! Terrible! And Terrible customer service at Maytag. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

I am fairly happy with this ranges performance. I do have a couple of issues on the design. I would like to be able to simmer at a lower temp on a front burner, as I use a large stock pot and a pressure canner occasionally. The smaller BTU burners are on the back and the large pots do not fit over them. I havent noticed any problems with the upper ovens performance...seems to do what I ask it to, including the broiler. I have not tried the lower oven or the convection feature at all yet. Nor have I had to use the self-cleaning feature, yet...almost afraid to after reading other peoples nightmares, though. My biggest concern is the lack of safety with the knobs on the front of the stove top. Several times, the gas has been turned on by my cat simply walking across the front of the stove and stepping on a knob. This allows gas to leak until I notice. It happened again early this morning just before 4:00 am. I was awakened by a smell, which I thought was a dead mouse somewhere (we live in the country in a 100 year old house - mice do get in, thus the cats). I searched the whole house, looking for a dead mouse, until I finally walked into the kitchen and heard the hissing from the stove. Im glad I didnt try to light a candle while I was still thinking dead mouse! After turning off the gas and removing all of the knobs, I opened all the windows to let the house air out. I SHOULD NOT have to remove the knobs every time my stove is not being used! You do have to depress the knobs slightly to ignite the burners, but its too easy. Obviously, the simple act of a little cat putting its paw on the knob is enough to open the gas. This is a serious flaw that could kill someone! Something needs to be done to correct this before someone is killed or a house full of propane or natural gas is ignited and explodes!!! I will be reporting this to Maytag and hope that they will voluntarily issue a recall to have this problem fixed...Wish me luck.

My refrigerator outer case has felt very warm to the touch at the section between the top freezer door and the lower refrigerator door for several years. I thought this was a normal function of the defrost mode. It is now very hot to the touch so that I cannot touch it for more than a few seconds. I dont know how long it has been like this. This cannot be normal. I did some online checks and found that there was a Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall release #09-145 and 09-322 that warns about the same problem I am having. My model # (MTB215) matches the recall, however, the last two characters in my serial # is WQ does not. This problem appears to be very consistent with the problem in the recall releases.

I bought a Maytag Refrigerator (Model No. MFT2672AEM10; Serial No. K31503192) on 05/13/2013 at LOWES. On 07/27/2013 my son got hospitalized due to some kind of infection. He had fever and diarrhea that didnt go away. We didnt know what caused it. When my wife was cleaning the refrigerator, she noticed that the ice bin container had a rusty screw and metal plate. Why is the ice bin screw/metal plate rusting? We informed Maytag about this issue and they replaced the ice bin. Now, the replacement ice bin is rusty again. I sent an e-mail to the Maytag Customer Service Manager on 04/20/2015 and was told that its no longer covered by the warranty. I informed the manager that this is a defective/flawed design/rusting part from the beginning and Maytag should have REDESIGNED it when I informed them first hand and not just replaced it with the same defective/flawed/rusting part. I told the manager that this is a safety concern and Maytag needs to do something about it. The Customer Service Manager I talked to didnt want to do anything about it.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos Top Load washer 3 years ago from Home Depot. I have to admit this is the worst washer ever. The clothes does not appear to get clean enough for the amount of time it takes for the clothes to wash. The white clothes look dingy after a wash that I have gotten to the point of pouring an additional amount of bleach in the wash tub. The amount of water that is in the tub is next to nothing, I have to either add additional water or place no more than 20 pieces of clothing in the wash. This is sad and I regret that I wasted my money on this product and I do not recommend it. As soon as I get some extra money to throw away, this washer is going out with the bulk trash.

We purchased all new appliances 3 years ago including a Maytag dishwasher. Same problem as a lot of others. We had the control board fail three times in just four months. Now today the repairman came and while he was here contacted other Sears technicians and Whirlpool technicians. They came up with the idea to replace the detergent dispenser which they said is causing the main control board to fail. However, while the tech was on the line with Sears and Whirlpool they done troubleshooting on the detergent dispenser and found that it was all within specifications. In fact, that was not a problem because it worked as it should. But in their wisdom they decided to replace the detergent dispenser. We now have to wait another ten days for the part to arrive and reschedule another appointment to have the detergent dispenser that works replaced. The serviceman that was at our house said that they are making him replace a part that is working and that this does not need to be done but he has to take instructions from Sears technicians. Our service person said that he doesnt anticipate that replacing the detergent dispenser will make the dishwasher work but he said if it does it will only last a few weeks as before and then fail once again. We have the dishwasher on extended warranty and there are about 22 months. I suspect that this one will be going to court to get resolved. Never Maytag again or Whirlpool.

I used white vinegar, baking soda, bleach, anything to try and get rid of the smell. Nothing worked. Finally, my husband took out the agitator and then the drum. Inside and around the drum was lint from all the years of washing clothes. He scraped it all off and bleached it and put it back together and it was okay for a while. It now smells again and I am afraid we will have to keep doing this or our clothes will always smell. I also leave the lid open after a wash so Im not attacked by the smell when we open it. When I am alone it takes 3 months to get enough to fill the machine and by that time they are getting moldy so most of the time I wash by hand. We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # MSF25D2EAS on 10-22-2012 at the Home Depot in Tracy, CA. On 2-2-2014 (15 months) we noticed a puddle on the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, we noticed that the refrigerator was not working. Went over to Home Depot and were given the name and number of the authorized Maytag repair dealer (A and E). The technician arrived on 2-5-2014 and replaced the compressor on-off /overload relay and charged $243.82. On 2-16-2014 (11 days later), the same thing happened again. The technician came on 2-19-2014. This time, it was the compressor at a cost of $800.00 plus the $75.00 service call. One can purchase the compressor online for $300.00 and I am sure that A and E buys it for a lot less. We thought about it and decided not to get it fixed because we did not know what else would go wrong and how long would the second compressor last. We talked to the Appliance Departments assistant manager and were told that Home Depot does not give any kind of consideration and she had worked there for 11 years and had not heard of any problems. She was not telling the truth or she was not aware of the numerous negative customer reviews online. She also informed me that I should have bought a warranty. We have bought quite a few refrigerators in 50 years and they lasted for many years. Home Depot sells inferior products. Maytag must sell these inferior products at discounted prices and of course, some stores are looking for larger profits. I do not trust Home Depot any longer and will not purchase appliances there anymore. It was a very expensive lesson - the price of the refrigerator, loss of food (twice) and the stress it caused. We bought a new refrigerator at Sears and it was not a MAYTAG.
