Love my washer. Very durable. No issues with it in the last 4 years and I probably use it at least 5 days a week. Has lots of options to wash different types of items and mine is big enough to wash a full size comforter.

Washer is noisy and water does not saturate clothes on normal wash. Have to use sheet setting for small or large load. Washer changes gears and it is so loud and clanks like something is falling apart.

I purchased by Maytag Bravo from Lowes exactly 1 year ago when the gearbox failed. There was a loud grinding sound as the washer tried to shift from wash to spin. Reading through some on-line reviews and complaints it turns out that this is not a new problem and has been known to Maytag for some time. I specifically bought a Maytag because of their prior reputation for quality. Unfortunately, my information was out of date. It is so sad that a company would compromise such an outstanding reputation.

A lot of the reviews contain complaints about the Bravos XL MCT top load washer. We purchased one in December, 2015, and so far have not had any problems. We had a 3 yr old Whirlpool side loading washer that we just gave away, as it never got enough water to even dampen a comforter or quilt. This machine works very well, in spite of lower level of water. I was pleasantly surprised when I could see the water level with the first load! The controls are not as intuitive as other machines; e.g. spin only requires you to select Rinse/Spin cycle, and THEN turn OFF extra rinse. Perhaps the proper way is to have a Spin-Only cycle, and then tell the user to click the extra rinse ON. We do probably 1 load a day. Water bill has not been significantly higher than when we had the Whirlpool that hardly used any water. Today, though, a heavy quilt (it WAS distributed evenly around the impeller) was put on Bedding so the water level would be a bit higher to ensure the entire quilt was wet. Fine so far. However, during the Spin Cycle, the unbalance became so violent that the washer stopped for a few seconds and then went BACK to the Rinse cycle. It did this several times before we realized that the time remaining had not gone down in over 30 minutes. My guess was that the sensor believed that maybe some additional water with another Rinse cycle MIGHT even out the load. It didnt. I finally stopped the machine, redistributed the quilt and then ran the Rinse/Spin cycle, choosing NOT to do the extra rinse. All came out fine. There was NOTHING in the manual indicating that this might be needed, except for the instructions to Spin only. If I have any other problems, I will send here.

I bought a Maytag washer January 2016. We recently had a issue with it so I logged onto the Maytag website and found a service provider to come see what was wrong. I had to pay a $100 fee for them to come out and look at it. I was told that the transition went bad. The parts were under warranty however I would have to pay for labor, which would be $325. Called Maytag and was told because I did not purchase an extended warranty there was nothing they could do about the labor. I can buy a new washer for $500 why would I spend $325 to fix? Already lost a $100 for them to come out to tell me what was wrong. Completely not right. A washer should last more then 4 years! Do not buy any Maytag produces. Will not last!

I purchased Maytag gas range in March 2011 at Home Depot, Model No. MGR5605WWO. I received the product in May 2011. The porcelain on the grates chips away leaving large grooves in grate, which affects cooking efficiency, (the fire burns erratically). First, I called 1-800-688-9900. The grates were replaced. And then same problem, it was replaced again, and again the same problem. The warranty to cover stove was extended by 6 months. The enamel on the round magnetic cover for the burner is also chipping away. I was told that this chipping of the enamel is a cosmetic problem and does not affect the functionality of the stove problem.A repair technician was sent out at my request to see firsthand the problem grates. I was told by him that if it occurred again, the manufacturer needs to be made aware of the defective grates. He noted that the enamel covering on the grates was not uniform. I have been told by Maytag supervisor today that she will get back to me within 3-5 days and let me know what is going to be done. I have had gas ranges before, but this is the first time this problem has occurred and its continuation is unacceptable. Is there anything further I can do to ensure I have stove grates that do not chip continuously?

My dishwasher is two years old and it just stopped working. I called the store I purchased it from and they sent out a repair man. He told me that the control panel was damaged and that he would have to replace it. The cost is $145.00 plus the $50.00 service call. He said something must have spilled and got into the control panel. It is a built-in dishwasher underneath a kitchen counter. I think it should somehow be protected against spills and/or moisture getting into the control panel as it is underneath the kitchen counter. I do not remember spilling anything that ran down the front on the dishwasher. But even if something spilled, if it was made properly it should still be working. I will not recommend a Maytag to anyone and will also spread the word about what happened. Unhappy in Pennsylvania.

After 2 years the oven didnt work. I had a repair fix it for $500 but if I wanted the convection to work it would cost another $800. Obviously not worth it. Now the oven needs to be set at 400 if I want then actual temperature to be 350. Now the latest - the racks are too small and falling! I just put my Le Creuset in the oven and the rack fell. Splashed everywhere! This happened at Christmas with my turkey. So bought the fridge - everything in the back freezes. Never ever buying Maytag again. Im guessing the Maytag repairman isnt lonely anymore.

Maytag has always been my favorite lasts forever no problems at all till something perforated the pump but was fixed promptly. I had my maytag till I moved and left it with my son so I do not have it now but I'd buy another maytag as long as it's not one of those water savers. Do not like those because it doesn't use enough water to rinse out the soap properly like the older original machines. Maytag is strong, durable and worth every penny. If I was buying another washer It would definitely be a maytag. They wash clothes thoroughly. Of all household appliances if have to have a maytag washing machine and my favorite vacuum cleaner. Maytag washing machines are by far a ten next everything else I've tried.

At first you think wow Maytag. Have heard was the best washer. WRONG. Clothes come out dry in spots. Not washing like it should. Whoever came up with this water saver and no agitator was crazy. Clothes dont get washed properly. Give me an old school washer to where my clothes get clean. When you have to wash clothes twice makes your power bill soar through the roof. NOT GOOD MAYTAG. NOT GOOD AT ALL.

I purchased the Top Loading Maytag Washer and have had nothing but an awful experience with this washer. The dark clothes come out with soap on them. I then need to take a wet towel to wipe out the soap stains. I have had a repairman in 2 times so far and there is nothing he can do to fix it. Maytag said I must wash all the towels with towels, all jeans with jeans, roll clothes into a loose ball before putting in machine, use the extra rinse cycle and the longest wash cycle and do not load clothes more than 5-6 inches high in the tub plus 7 other things I must do to get a clean load and none of those things have worked yet. If the salesperson would have told me all this, I never would have purchased a Maytag and nor should you!

I have had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. It recently started leaking water on the floor and all over the bottom of the freezer. Repairman said it is a flaw with the defrost drain design. He thinks Maytag MIGHT have changed it since I purchased mine, but I dont know. Originally they used this small rubber valve;repairman said they get clogged very easily (even though I vacuum around it regularly and dont have any pets). He replaced that part with something sturdy that looks like a p trap. I looked online and there are loads of complaints about this exact issue with the defrost drain clogging. It cost $250 to have it repaired. I called Maytag to ask to be reimbursed and of course they will not do anything since it is out of warranty. Its a shame Maytag wont stand behind their products. Since there are so many of us with this issue, cant something be done?

We bought this he Maytag washing machine about 3 years ago. I have hated it from the start and should have put a review right away because it is a piece of cr#&. It does not save any energy because I have had to rewash loads because clothes come out still dirty, lint still on them, sometimes even dry spots on clothes. I did a wash today and chunks of HE detergent still in the clothes. I am rewashing a load right now. I now have to do a presoak hoping that will help the load come out cleaner. So dont waste any money on Maytags HE machines as I will never buy another one.Being an environmentally conscious person, I thought HE was the way to go but it doesnt save any energy when you have constantly run a laundry twice to get clothes clean. It also does not do a good job spinning as clothes are still very wet. I hate this machine and I am thinking about junking it even though it still runs. Very bad purchase.

We purchased a bottom freezer refrigerator from the Home Depot in 2013 and I am sorry to say this refrigerator does not deserve any stars. Immediately after the warranty was up our refrigerator started leaking all over the floor. The drain clogged and freezes up on the bottom under the freezer. When it becomes full, it leaks all over my hardwood floor. I have now become a slave to this refrigerator. Each week I have to open the freezer and get down on my hands and knees to break up the ice, scoop it out, toss it in the sink. I have spread the word and I hope anyone who reads this does as well. Never buy a Maytag product because not only do they make defective products, they wont own up to it and recall it.

So I read the reviews when I bought this Maytag Bravo Washer and figured stuff happens. We bought the top load Maytag Brava in 2013. We bought the Home Depot warranty, 2 years later the washer was leaking water. 5 repair visits and 3 attempts to fix the leak before it was repaired. As of 4-25-17 the wash machine displayed un-level errors and started vibrating with a thundering noise. Called out warranty repair and they stated we need new bearings. Repair is scheduled in 2 days and now the wash machine is thundering and spewing oil so it is shut off. 4 years old, and like the other complaints clothes come out with dry patches and not clean. This is a bad machine, we are saving for our next washer. It will have an old style spindle/agitator, no California efficiency and probably not Maytag.

There are few nightmares that worm their way into reality, but the forcing upon us of the low water washing machine has excelled beyond mans wildest imagination. A tool which everyone finds an absolute necessity is now a tool which does not work! In reference to this particular machine, there isnt enough water to wet the clothes, it beats the garments with such viciousness, even on hand wash, pieces go missing off the clothes, ripped into oblivion. You no longer can buy a machine which does not SENSE the water level, so we have all been reduced to either buying new clothes every week, or wearing crumpled wrinkled disasters which arent quite clean, and we get to use 3x the electricity and waste 3x more water, not to mention wasted time in repeating the process in hopes of getting our clothes clean and wearable.

This is our 2nd Maytag washing machine in 25 years- we upgraded to a newer model though the old one was still working. The settings on the newer model are perfect for our family and we love all the options. We love our machine. Thanks.

The functionality of this machine is so awful. I had the dealer replace it only to find that the awful noises that the machine makes, the fact that the clothes don’t get covered by the water and the clothes are so knotted after the spin cycle you have to untie them is normal for this awful appliance. In the sensing stage the machine groans like a laboring motor around 30 times, then stops with a jolt. My machine is next to the bedrooms and the noise wakes people up. Even in the “deep water” setting, the clothes are not covered by the water. The wash cycle is short and noisy and the spin cycle goes on forever. In the end I have to untie the legs of pants. Whoever designed this machine should be ashamed of herself or himself. Shame on Maytag.

I bought the top of the line Maytag washer. I was told they have improved their washer so that it no longer requires an agitator. I was also told the new machine saves you money by using less water. It has a sensor so that it only puts the water needed to clean your clothes. Instead of filling up with water and having the agitator to stir the clothes around, this new and improved machine puts a small amount of water in the machine and vibrates. The end result? All of the dirt and debris gathers in small pockets and sticks to your clothes. In order to save water the sensor only allows a small amount of water to enter the machine to rinse your clothes. When you consider how many times you have to go back and rinse your clothes before you get the caked on dirt off of your clothes, its costing you more money, more time and more aggravation. Oh yea, the maintenance man was out three times before the machine was a year old. The last visit was to replace that fine Maytag motor that was less than a year old. I have pictures that show my clothes with caked on dirt and debris on them after they have completed their wash cycle. It is HORRIBLE!!!

Maytag washing machine Model # MHWE500VW - 2 control boards only last 4 years. I paid top dollar, $1229.00 to be exact and the parts and labor are $659.00 with no guarantee that there wont be further problems. Technician told me that this is typical of Maytag products. Contacted Maytag and they told me to take a hike and have a nice day. I will attempt to get some help from the place of purchase, Hamai Appliance, Maui, Hawaii.

How is this fair that only a couple of washers recalled...I knew of no recalls either...My old Kenmore top loader outdated by far. Guess I should have kept it.

An average refrigerator/freezer at best. I would not recommend it unless you also buy a service agreement to fix things that go wrong with it. Ice maker went out.

We have owned this range for a little over a year. Oven will not hold correct heat. Have temperature sensor replaced under warranty. Did not make any difference. You can adjust temperature up or down according to actual temperature readings, but the temperature swings so much that it is worthless to try. Very hard to get food baked right.

I, too, am having major problems with my Maytag Neptune washer, much like many of the writers are. I am extremely disappointed in the Maytag corporation for putting out such an inferior product that it wont stand by. I wonder if a new class action suit could be filed.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 2019 in Home Depot for my new home. The dishwasher stopped washing dishes after two years and 6 months. The price of the new machine was 700$ and I did not buy the extended warranty. The trouble is circulation pump, that cost to install the new one from local service would be about 350$ plus the new pump 150$. I consider quality is very poor if the new dishwasher works only two years and then it is better to buy a new item than fix the old one. Never never buy Maytag production.

I have had commercial front loading washers since they came out (first was a Whirlpool Duet); although I like the capacity they have for large quilts and sleeping bags, they just dont seem to clean as well as the agitate-in-tub style, and they can take a ridiculous amount of time for a cycle -- wheres the energy savings there that they advertise? Im going to go back to the agitate-in-tub of water style when a replacement is needed. A lot of hype and expense, and plenty of experience with these on my part, but Im going to grade them a C, at best, compared to the agitator style washing machines I use to own.

Bought Maytag Bravos from Home Depot in Dec 2010. Wife didnt like the way it cleaned clothes right from the start. It wouldnt get clothes as clean as her 20+ year old washer. 2 1/2 years later and her $900 washing machine needs $600 in repairs. My wife will finally be happy with the way her washing machine cleans again because we are purchasing a new one this week, and it wont be a Maytag.

Add me to the list of people who hate this washing machine. It does not use enough water to get clothes really clean, leaves spots, is hard on clothes and tears them up, and the spin cycle gets unbalanced too easily. It has taken me hours to wash one load with a blanket in it because of the spin problems. I have not been able to restart the spin cycle without starting the wash cycle from the beginning.

My dishwasher is less than 2 years old - has only been used a total of less than 12 months as I am seasonal in Florida. The control panel has failed. It will cost $275 parts and labor to fix.

Top of the line $1300 Maytag Maxima MGD8100DW probably rusted much earlier before I noticed. After all how many times you check the drum of brand new top of the line dryer?? Manufacturer says not covered. Not sure but already this brand new model has been discontinued, so the manufacturer i.e. Maytag or Whirlpool take your pick found out about the defective design/part but now does not want to honor the warranty ridiculous. And one of the main selling points was made in USA (which turned out to be only assembled in USA), and the consumer reports which gave good rating but they were duped too.

I have owned this Maytag washer model # MVWC360AW0 since Dec/2013. I do not have a single complaint about this machine. It has worked flawlessly for 5 years and am very happy with it. I just follow common sense maintenance like cleaning it once every month (do a full cycle with just borax & baking soda 1/2 cup each) no clothes of course. Another thing I do is to leave it open after I am done washing so it dries completely before I close the lid. The washer looks and works like new, cant be happier...

Just after a year the bottom freezer began to build up frost. I had to thaw it every day. A repairman changed part and ran well for about 5 months when it started to frost up again. Again, I had to call a repairman in. $500.00 later, my fridge is working again. I am done with Maytag appliances. Never again!

I just bought this refrigerator a bit more than 2 years ago. I have to change electronic module for $300 CAD including labor. Home Depot advised me to contact directly Maytag and to express my dissatisfaction about this unreliable product.

MDB7609AWB1 - I purchased this dishwasher about 14 months ago. Power on button will not light up. It seems this is a big problem with 100% of the Maytags and Im sure the Whirlpools. These cheap companies are having their products made in China to make bigger profits. The years of keeping your appliances for 10-15 is gone. Spend $650 and it doesnt even last 2 years before it breaks is totally ridiculous. Of course they wont fix it but they DO know about the problem. If enough people complain maybe consumers affairs will make them recall them. Send them letters, emails, flood their inbox, tell them youre pissed and will never buy a Maytag again. I hope they go out of business.

I purchased this machine less than 1 month ago. Have had tech here twice - he cant find anything wrong with machine. As for large capacity it will hold a lot of clothing, but will not clean them. I have had to put less than a 1/4 of tub full of clothing (about 15 small items). Use high water level, extra rinse, then rinse and spin again to get the 2 tablespoons of HE soap off my clothing. Takes over 2.5 hours to wash about 15 items. I have called Maytag and they will not back their product. I purchased at Home Depot and they said they have to do what Maytag says. Sending another tech out in 2 more weeks. Takes more water, more electricity, and more time to wash clothes than ever before.

I cant warn you enough NOT to buy this design flawed machine. Ive only owned mine two months from Home Depot, the install was a nightmare and now due to a poor design flaw, if you miss loose coins or anything in pockets it will get trapped between the drum and the tub causing rattling and noise during spin cycle. Guess what? Service calls EACH time this happens. This is nothing more than a $750 piece of junk. I feel like its marring the whole feel of my new house. I hate hate hate this washer and am trying to get Home Depot to take it back, Maytag to refund me or sell it at a huge loss. This is NOT getting anything you pay for and I vow to NEVER EVER buy Maytag again.

I have had KitchenAid and Whirlpool my whole life - lots of them - NEVER EVER have I had so much trouble with a washer. This front loader is the worst possible machine. My former Whirlpool was a front loader too - Never a problem. I purchased this Maytag set simply to have a matched set because our Whirlpool dryer died. This washer has to be babysat. The washer holds water and it gets musty - never ever before have I had this problem. Maytag says it is designed this way and I have to continue to buy AFFRESH (which is also very expensive). I have to use this two to three times a week and the pkg says once every 6 months - DONT DONT BUY MAYTAG. LOUSY.

Seems a little ** one of a small child crawled into the washer and a sibling turned it on. We have been married 35 years and seen a lot of washers and this is by far the worst wash machine Ive ever seen. How would you rather do my wash in an old fashioned mangler? Very unsatisfied customer.

My Maytag Neptune washer was purchased last October 2010. In the past few months, the washer has been making a loud noise when spinning/washing. I had a Maytag repairman look at the washer, and all the barring, etc. needed to be replaced, which would have a cost of over $450.00! I am very upset with this outcome and just looked into it and found that this washer had recalls that the consumers were not properly notified about. The lack of recall communication is inexcusable, especially since I even went as far as to buy a 3-year extended warranty and still was not notified.What really set this situation was that the repairman suggested to not buy a Maytag washer and he added that it would not be a problem since Maytag has been purchased by Whirlpool and that the Neptune washer played a part of the ending of Maytag! This whole situation has really put a bad taste for any Maytag product, and all of my major appliances are Maytag as well as the dryer I just purchased a week ago, before I knew about all of the disappointment of Maytag. I am sure the response I will be getting will be as good as the notification of the recall, which will be nothing. Thanks!

My husband and I purchased the Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7609AWW2 in December 2010. July 2012, the control panel would not operate. I called Sears to schedule a repair appointment. (I did not have an extended warranty.) After reading review after review of complaints about Maytag and control panel issues and learning it is a very costly repair, I called Whirlpool which now owns Maytag. (Be advised, Maytag is not the quality product it once was). Reviews also indicate that the replaced control panels are failing within 6 months to a year and a half. After talking to a person in the Maytag/Whirlpool service department, he suggested some things to do: unplug power, unlock control panel, etc. He determined it was most likely the control panel that needed to be replaced. I asked how long a new panel would last informing him of the complaints Id read. All he would tell me was that I had the option to buy an extended warranty. We have decided not repair the dishwasher and will replace it with a non-Maytag and non-Whirlpool brand. I will never buy Maytag or any products made by Whirlpool again. For a major component of the dishwasher to last only a year and a half is unconscionable.

Recently purchased a washer from Home Depot. Machine is now on its 3rd repair. The wiring harness is fired. Could have caused a fire. Now they still will not replace and part is on order which will take 4 weeks to be in stock. I called Maytag and expressed my concerns to which they could not help me as every washer is theirs can be repaired. I really don’t understand what happened to making things right. Very frustrated that they will not repair or reimburse for that matter. Please refund my mom and pick it up.

My original GE dishwasher that came with our house finally crapped out after about 8 years of use in 2007. Bought a Maytag from Home Depot for around $400. Dont remember the model number. It worked okay but then in the middle of 2010 we got a letter in the mail saying our machine was being recalled because the heating element might catch fire (!!!). The recall gave us the option of getting it fixed or getting a $150 rebate. We chose the rebate option so we trashed this dishwasher and went back to Home Depot to buy another one.We found a very nice Maytag with the stainless steel tub and the racks with the lifetime warranty against corrosion (which was good because our previous Maytag had started to leave rust on our dishes because the plastic on the tips of the rack tines was starting to come off), model #MDBA979AWB1, serial #FY2501885. The one we found was a no-box display model but it had all the accessories with it and still had the factory warranty. We got it for just over $300 and with our rebate applied we were out the door for under $200 including tax. I installed it myself and didnt have any issues for quite some time. My wife and I were both very happy with how clean the dishes got!Now, last night the dishwasher wouldnt start. I checked it out this morning, made sure it had power and was able to get some lights on the control panel to light up but still couldnt get it to start. Looks like Ive been victimized by the control board as most of these complaints have said. I guess I should consider us lucky since ours seems to have lasted longer than the average 18 months to 2 years. Will be contacting Maytag and Home Depot to see what they can do but after reading all these negative reviews Im not hopeful.

We bought commercial Maytag washer & dryer Oct 20th 2020. Very expensive ones. Oct 13 2021 they stopped working so had it checked. The shifter on washer went out & dryer blower is not working really!!!! Not even a year! Been without washer & dryer for 1 month because they didn’t have availability & now have to order parts another 2 weeks!! Never buying this product again!! Don’t buy Maytag!

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator in 2009. The freezer is on the bottom. In the last 3 months weve had to defrost this frost-free refrigerator. The freezer frosts and the refrigerator went into the danger level for foods. A technician said there is a tube from the freezer to the refrigerator that gets blocked with ice and your food is spoiled in no time. I wish I would have read this website before I purchased a Maytag. Hopefully, this will help someone else. I thought that Maytag was a quality name. That was the good ole days and now Im living in the good ole days defrosting a frost-free refrigerator. Beware!

We paid for a brand new washer and dryer from Maytag/Whirlpool. Right on the machines it has stamped in a metal plate 10 year warranty. So at 4 years when my washer started screeching and smoking I called for service. Yes, there had been a leak that burned out something in the engine and the bearings were shot etc etc. But they have been back 3 times. Each time they lack some part. I first called them on July 29, 2020. Today is October 13, 2020. They have still not got the washer repaired. I need to do wash every day. We are a family. We also have a senior in her 80s. And dogs. I need to do wash every day. So for weeks I went to the laundromat. That cost a fortune. Then a couple of weeks ago I impulse bought a new washing machine. A Samsung. On sale. Doesnt match the Maytag dryer. And the old washing machine got moved out to the garage. Its the pandemic. I cant keep going to the laundromat. What good is a warranty if Maytag/Whirlpool always has excuses for why they dont have parts. Its the motor. The very basis of the machine. It took them 2 weeks just to look for one. You wouldnt believe the excuses they make when we talk. But I am really unhappy with the way it all worked out. What good is a repaired machine 3 months later than I needed it. I had to buy a new machine. Why didnt they just tell me to do that on day 1 so I could avoid the laundromat. Why are they spending so much money to basically repair everything in that washer when they could have just bought me the new machine. When is a warranty not a warranty at all, but just a big lie?

MF12665XEM7 Maytag Fridge water runs on the floor: After reading the review and watching the video to fix, I called Maytag. They refused to help. We bought our fridge at Nebraska Furniture Mart. We have spent a lot of money with them too. My husband called to see if they would split the cost of the service call. They refused. My floor is ruined from the water leakage onto it when we are not home. We try to catch the ice buildup and remove it before it is an issue. Why is there no class action suit? There is definitely a problem with this fridge and Im seeing it online everywhere I look.

I could not get parts for Maytag Model MHWE200XW00 Type 832A as the Whirlpool does not provide after sales service. I purchased the new washer in 2010 and lasted for just 4 years. I believe they guarantee supply of spare parts (Inner Basket, Outer Tub and Rubber Boot) for 10 years and more.

We have had this washer/dryer stack up for about 2 years now. Not long after it was purchased from Best Buy, it started smelling like mold, even though we were doing everything possible to keep it ventilated. Best Buy employee said that service was not covered by the warranty that we purchased, so they suggested we YOUTUBE some ideas on how to get rid of the smell. They said it was a common complaint for front load washers. We have tried Affresh, hot water and bleach, hot water with vinegar and lavender, etc. Nothing is working. There is mold on the plastic inside the washer door and the stench is horrible now. You can smell it when you walk into our home. I believe that stench is the reason we are all having respiratory problems, allergies, etc. I just dont know what to do anymore. Really frustrating!! These appliances cost a lot of money.

Bought a Maytag Dishwasher (Model No. MDB7749SBM2) in Sept. 2013 and I am in need of repair for the control panel. The dishwasher is in a vacation house and isnt used on a daily basis. I always thought Maytag was a reliable product but Ive been reading the reviews and the control panel is a problem on relatively new units. How do they get away with this. The unit was around $600 and now Im stuck with a big repair bill... and it appears, from what Ive read on this site that it is a common problem. Maytag has replaced the control panel part and, as far as I am concerned, they should have provided them to all the consumers who were stuck with the defective ones they sold us in the last few years. Now we all know why we dont see the Maytag repairman sitting around with nothing to do on TV. Hes working his ass off trying to fix the dishwashers.

I bought a Maytag washer in June and its the worst washer I have ever had. It has been 15 yrs since I had to buy a washer. My last washer was a Kenmore which was great. The Maytag does not have a water control knob. It has auto sensing which is crazy. I know how much water I need to wash my clothes. The water sensing barely puts water over the top of the clothes which is not what I need. My husband works in the oil field and gets oily and dirty. The next issue is the agitator that agitates the clothes. This one is a joke. The agitator starts agitating the clothes before the water is over the clothes and then when it needs to agitate it does a poor job. I am so unhappy with my machine that I am getting rid of it and looking for an old type washer. Evidently you made this washer for white collar people who do not get dirty. This is definitely not a washer for people who have dirty laundry. I am so disappointed with Maytag. I thought this was a good brand.

Wish it was a French door style instead of freezer on top. Not good if you are tall. Other than that we are pleased with it but will look to trade for a French door style.

I paid over $600.00 for a new maytag washing machine two years ago. It quit working a few days ago and the man said itll cost over $400.00 to fix it. Why do you people build this type of junk? It has all the features we like and use every day. Timer, lights, fan, built-in Above stove, use minutes or preprogrammed Turntable, quiet, white in color, easy cleaning. Easy to replace filter and light.

I purchased Maytag Centennial Commercial washer and dryer eleven years ago. Both are still going strong. It has been a great purchase. Only issue is a couple of stains have appeared on outside of appliances.

Dishwasher has been very dependable. Very reasonably priced and in over six years of service never had an issue with it. It’s a little on the small side for a large family but if you’re for less in your household-- works perfect.

We bought a new top of the line Maytag MGD7000XW dryer about 2 years ago. It worked great for about 6 months, thing started acting funny. All of the front console lights stay on all of the time and it ONLY dries on high heat now. This all happened after the warranty period. So fine, I was going to buy a new complete front console (CONSOLE Part Number: W10388467 $300.) as the online repairman suggested. Guess what, Maytag no longer offers the part to fix my dryer. So now I have a 2 year old top of the line P.O.S. MAYTAG dryer that cant be fixed. I will never buy from this company again (Maytag).

Replaced a Maytag Bravos xl washer and dryer in 2015. First year was fine but almost right after the warranty period, the spinning cycle was loud. You cant even have a conversation near the washer. I put up with it after calling the repair department. Because I was told that it will cost as much to repair than buy a new washer. Now the washer does not drain when a small amount of cloth are in the washer. Dont buy this washer and dryer. Maytag is not as good as it once claim.

I purchased a whole stainless steel kitchen from Lowes and purchased all Maytag products because of the so called quality of Maytag. First we had to return the microwave because it was dented badly. We then notified Lowes that the door on the refrigerator cold cut drawer falls off when opening the drawer. Service man said he would send a new door. Same problem. You can clearly see that the drawer and the refrigerator frame is deformed. Maytag says that the warranty does not cover cosmetics. The range has a aqua lift self-cleaning technology that simply sucks. The oven does not clean! I recommend that no one ever buy Maytag products. They are the worst! I should not have listened to the salesman and bought what I originally wanted - SAMSUNG!!!

I just purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer. I am very pleased with the cleaning ability of this washer. It has set pre-timed washing and drying times. I would like to have availability of setting the times for a load to run. Same with the dryer. The book says you can do this but I have not figured out how. I have been very pleased with their abilities to do what they are supposed to do. Cleaning and Drying.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 9/2006. I was happy with it until 12/10 when it smoked and almost caught fire in the middle of the night! Luckily, I have a GFI circuit breaker and it shut the dishwasher off before it burned my house down. After researching on Google, I found out that my dishwasher had been recalled as a fire hazard, and I was never notified by Maytag. I called Maytag from my house phone and the automated system knew my name and address immediately just by me calling -- so they could have easily notified me but they chose not to.I ended up getting a voucher to purchase a new dishwasher (model: MDB7709AWB2). The one year warranty has literally just expired, and the Start/Resume, and the Cancel/Drain buttons no longer work. The replacement parts from Maytag cost $212.37, and that price does not include the price to get it installed from a service technician -- add on another $100-$200 depending on where you live. This is a known problem, and seems to repeat yearly! Another annoying thing about this dishwasher is the wheels on the racks. They dont glide easily and they constantly get off the track. I hate this dishwasher and I will never purchase another product from Maytag/Whirlpool/Jenn-Air again!

Purchased a Maytag - MDB7749AWM1 dishwasher in 2011 from Home Depot. The door seal has failed several times and been replaced by a serviceman. The warranty has since run out but the seal continues to fall out every time you run the dishwasher and open the door. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I have considered gluing the seal in place but cant find a glue that will handle the temperature. Im sure that Maytag will say they have never seen this problem before. My complaint is not against Home Depot but Maytag Products. They are inferior products. Stay away from Maytag! I liked the 10 year metal warranty plate attached to the front limited warranty of the microwave. This means nothing! They cover the stainless cavity of the microwave (a part that will never go bad). June 3, 2014 this microwave was delivered. Thanksgiving, the microwave went out November 30, 2015 this was replaced with GE Profile Model JVM3160RFSS for $178. November 30, 2015, Diamond Factory Service was here for the Microwave. We paid $90 for the service call. They wanted $228.09 to repair (1-8206419 Switch $15.22; 1 W10269460 Switch $27.03; 1 W10727360 Microswitch $27.03 and Labor $155.00). Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749AWM. Purchased from Al race Appliance for $599.95 total with tag etc was $920.27 on 5/16/12. So thankful was purchased the additional warranty for five years. We have had 2 service calls so far for the same issue, which is W10356494 Console CMFF0312434. This is a known problem (it will not start). I wish I would have googled the model before purchase was made. When the warranty expires, this will go to the curb too.Also, purchased Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer from Best Maytag, Rockford. The dryer had problems with the circuit board after a short time. Too expensive to replace. Our family and friends ALWAYS purchased Maytag only. No more! Stay away! First let me say I have used Maytag products for 46 years. A little over a year ago bought a new Maytag Centennial Washer (Model MVWC555DW) for a cousin which was responsible to looking after as he had been brain damaged since birth. Needless to say when I started having trouble with clothes not washing and having to bring to my home and wash was not satisfactory. This machine never worked right but until after the 1 year warranty could get by. Needless to say I will never buy another Maytag appliance but now have a Maytag washer/dryer, stove and dishwasher in my home. Maytag is Not the quality that is use to be. Purchased our Maytag Centennial Washer Model MVWC400XW4 2 years and 5 months ago; guess we are luckier than most; it has now failed in the spin cycle, high pitch, high volume whine, sounds like it is about to explode. Needless to say is out of warranty; and too expensive on our limited income to have a technician repair. I will hope to make the repairs myself; nothing to lose at this point; and from reading the countless negative reviews about this product; should be as many countless repair suggestions on YouTube. Obviously if Maytag would stand behind/up for their product as they claim they do; I and many others would not have these issues. Bought refrigerator 2012 from Home Depot (model something like MBF1953YEB - how sad is it that I now have this number memorized?). Freezer too cold, refrigerator way too warm. Freezer air ducts frozen over. Tried manual defrosting twice per YouTube suggestions. Finally got repair for $400!!! Thats about half what I paid for it! One proponent repairman stopped me mid-sentence when I said Maytag saying, I know what it is. The computer (Jazz?) board needed to be replaced for $217. I just looked up Maytag to see it was bought in 2006 by Whirlpool. So I wont be purchasing any more Maytag or Whirlpool appliances.

I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.

I have a Maytag MFI2665XEW6. Im getting water on the floor by the bottom draw. It looks like the coil in the back is freezing up and then melting down to the bottom of the freezer and out to the floor. I dont know how to lower the temp on the door panel.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher model number mdb7749sbm in April 2013. March of 2015 the controls stopped working completely. We looked online and instantly found it was a problem among many others, and said it was a result of corroded ribbon cable. We opened the panel and, sure enough, inside the ribbon cable the electrical wires were completely rusted through! We called Maytag, and, of course, despite the numerous complaints of the same problem, they would only fix it if we paid $250, or send us a replacement part for $350 to fix ourselves. Not going to spend that much on a dishwasher that already cost $600 and only lasted 22 months! We are attaching a picture that shows after we tried cleaning the rust (when Maytag refused to fix it) how much of the electrical wires disintegrated! We tried soldering a small wire to connect it again, but the ribbon was so thin it just melted right through.

Purchased a stackable washer and dryer (Maytag) for our new condo in Feb 2015. After it was installed a few months later the problems began. The washer wasnt removing the water from the clothes. We contacted Maytag and they informed us that they subcontract out to a company called Appliance Service of Central Florida (727-462-0394). Contacted Appliance Service and set up a date to be serviced. Since then, we have had Appliance Service out to our place over 8 times. They found fault in our control panel, our door lock, replaced our motor and have replace several other parts. It has been over 4 months since they started repairs on our machine and have informed me that they have a right to try and fix the problem. I have no problem with this but when and how long do I have to put up with this? They dont seem to care that my wife and I havent had a working washer in over 4 months.The people doing the repairs stated that this machine should have been replaced because it had or has several problems with it and after replacing the motor, electric panel etc it still isnt working. When I contacted Maytag they stated that as long as Appliance Service is working on the problem, it out of their hands. Is there anything I can do besides contacting a lawyer and spending more money?

Series 200 dishwasher wont start. Just over 1 year old. Control panel needs replacing which I found out, is a constant problem and a design flaw. Called Maytag and they would only offer 25% off new part. Why would I do that when it is just going to go bad again?

Ive always loved Maytag but this centennial makes grinding noise and doesnt wash clothes well. Even on largest setting the drum never fills all the way up with water. It adds water 8 times during wash cycle only to immediately go to drain after last add. Ive only had for approx 4 years and the 10yr warranty only covers motor and basket so be sure to understand your warranties.

Buyer beware. This machine has received several complaints. Not long after purchase, the washer started to stop during the fill cycle and give an error code no. This is supposed to be sure to overloading the machine. The other reason they give is something stuck item the baskets. Again not the case. Supposedly it must be a motor issue. Maytag was my trusted band. Our last Maytag lasted us almost twenty five years.I was excited to get this machine but disappointed with the lack of clean clothes, error codes, and noisy operation. My first clue should have been the one year only warranty. Thats how much they believe in their products. Ill never trust Maytag again. So sad that whirlpool should sabotage the Maytag brand and turn an otherwise great washer manufacturer into a piece of junk manufacturer. I bought this range Nov 2019, beautiful range that’s it. Stove top scratches very easily and hard to clean. Oven racks rust, got them replaced on the guaranty they still rust. Oven dirty never gets clean, If I could afford it I would on the curbside. I wouldn’t even give it away. 3 oven in 48 years of marriage, worst oven ever.... Sure would like a full refund, I mean 1500. What a ripoff.

I have had nothing except trouble with my new Maytag Bravos washer! I first had a suspension arm or something like that replaced along with the agitator. My water cycle has never worked correctly since it was new. I take out the clothes and half are still dry. My daughter washed her kids’ clothes in the washer while she was living with us and the stains did not come out. She thought that is really unusual since they werent stains that normally you would see left on the clothes. I went to my father-in-law’s house (they have a front loading Bosch), took her detergent with her that she used here and guess what? It’s just one washing and the stain was gone. She had washed the clothes in our washer at least 7 times trying to get out the stain. Now, we have such a loud noise that it sounds like it is going to take off. Then, the bottom of the washer started to leak. We took it out and checked it and we cant find the leak. The clothes smell awful when they come out of the wash. I dont know if it is bacteria build up. I use the cycle cleaner when I am supposed to. This is so sad. This is the first time I have had matching washer and dryer and I wish I would have kept my old Sears model that worked great. I havent decided if we want to fix it. With the price to fix it, I can buy one I might like. Never will I buy Maytag again or another Whirlpool without checking out the reports.

Purchased dishwasher Mod # MDB7749SBM1 thinking it was Maytag (lonely repairman) in June 2013 from Home Depot. Cost new over $1,000. As of March 2016, three service calls, two of which required replacement of the control panel. Now the control panel has failed a third time and we are told by Whirlpool (parent company of Maytag dishwashers) they will not cover the repair. They have offered a discount for a new dishwasher. Since that did not seem like a very good option to me, they offered to let me pay for current service plus a year for over $350.00. I was sad to discover that they are the manufacturer of most dishwashers available at your local home store dealer (Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Roper, Amana). VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

WARNING: Do not buy a Maytag washer, unless you get a very extended warranty. My wife and I had A GE, but it wore out after only a few years. So, we decided to go with a Maytag, since they always claimed that the Maytag repairman had nothing to do, which leads you to believe that they never need service. WELL, 3 years and 10 months and our Maytag blew its transmission. Oil is leaking from the seal, and its on borrowed time. So, off we go to get another washer. Just keep in mind that Maytag, and Whirlpool are one and the same company, so buyer beware. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, there is a sticker on the washer stating that there is a 10 year warranty. That is only on the drum, which never goes bad, and the electric motor. NO OTHER PARTS are under warranty unless you participate in the extended warranty. My wife and I are going to go out and look at some used washers. There are places that refurbish them, and they have a better warranty, believe me. I am hoping that we can find one WITHOUT A FREAKING COMPUTER BOARD in it. Cost to fix my washer, according to the accredited Maytag repairman is $560.04. I think I can get a basic washer that wont stop working after a few years for less than that. Just in case you are wondering, its only my wife and I, we only do laundry a couple of times a week. I bought a Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749SBM) and 1 yr and 4 months the control panel went out and all Maytag would do is tell me that they will pay for the parts, and I have to pay for the labor. I remember when Maytag had the best Warranty on their appliances. I am very disappointing with paying for labor. They also offer an extended plan of $269.00 for a year. What a joke!!!

My boyfriend and I just recently purchased a Maytag brand washer and dryer set. So far, we are thrilled with our purchase. We got front load units that have an XL barrel so we can use it to wash comforters and larger loads. I have washed many loads and so far, havent noticed a longer time to wash or any issues. I love the fact that my clothes are all getting equally as clean and I can be sure that my items will not be torn or ripped in the process. I would recommend this product to anyone.

This is undoubtedly the worst washer I have ever owned or used! I have never before felt compelled to write a review on a product, but I wanted to make other buyers aware. There is not enough water to clean the clothes - the water level doesnt even cover the top of the clothes, so the top of the clothes are dry as they are agitating! After drying (dryer doesnt dry either) the clothes do not smell fresh or clean. Ive put up with it for 3 years and am disgusted every time I use it. Im just about ready to buy another set.

I have been the latest victim in purchasing a Maytag Refrigerator. Something needs to be done about the defective products they are putting on the market. I received 9/7/13 (yesterday) a new Model FW: 555 Complaints and Reviews about Maytag Refrigerators bottom freezer refrigerator. After being plugged in for 3 hrs, the temp was 60 degrees.. After 8 hrs same and 24 hrs same. I lost everything because of the defect. I notified the store 3 hrs after purchasing it and because I had it delivered on a Saturday I have to wait till Monday to get this resolved. I want everyone to read before buying a Maytag product.

I have Maytag refrigerator that is only 2 years & 9 months old that I am told by a service tech that it has a sealed system leak. So the unit runs it just wont get cold. I have lost all the food that was in the refrigerator & freezer and I told by Maytag that its not covered under warranty. The tech gave me a ball park quote of $600.00- $700.00 to repair the unit & I lost at lest $200.00 or more in food. Well I must say I concur with all previous posts. I just replaced my Bravos with a Samsung after my jet plane of a washer died. My repair guy said it was not worth it to fix it. I had already replaced the shocks two years ago but I did have mine for 8 years. I have had the same problems as previous posts - rust, smell, holes, broken, too expensive! Hello to Samsung!!

I have an MSD2542VEB01 model refrigerator purchased slightly over two years ago. I have the same problem as many others, which is the plastic breaking on the shelves. The first time, it was within a year and the part was under warranty. It is now a year and a half later and one is broken beyond use and another is cracking again. Maytag refuses to help me as there is no “recall and the plastic is not available separately from the easily removable glass of the shelf. The least expensive price that I can find for the shelf is $107 and I need two of them. $214 (plus shipping) when all I need is two pieces of plastic? Be very careful when selecting your appliances.

Recently I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer. These two items are the single worst appliances I have ever purchased. They are loud, ball the clothes into a knot and run forever. I plan to sell them on Craigslist and buy a Speed Queen.

The bearings and motor went out in less than 3 years. The warranty good - the dealer I purchased from Siano Appliance gave me credit to purchase another Maytag washer - which I had to purchase an additional warranty for $320. The new Maytag is less than 5 months old - the motor has been replaced and waiting on a tech now to fix it. It would not come on. I purchased a gas range from Lowes - Maytag- Model #MGR8880AS in 2012. The range has been repaired on multiple occasions 11/2016; 3/2017; 5/2017. All three times they replaced the igniter and burner. On one occasion they replaced the computer board as well. (Each time they have informed me that this part was a recalled problem and under warranty). The stove is now out of warranty and having same issue. The stove fills with gas and the igniter does not ignite and does so intermittently. Maytag only wants to send repair company out at my expense. They need to replace the stove, because someone somewhere will die because of their product. I will purchase a new stove and not from Maytag. (All my appliances are Maytag). I also have a copy of my receipt and will provide if needed; I used my extended warranty through Lowes each time. I urge everyone not to purchase Maytag appliances.

We bought a new Maytag electric range from a local dealer three years ago. The oven element quit working, which shorted out the motherboard that controls the entire range. The cost of repair was $500 for the element, motherboard and installation. We have owned other brands that lasted 20 years and worked fine with no repairs. My folks have used Maytag for over 50 years with no problems. Who and where is this junk manufactured now? China? I will never buy another Maytag product!

I spoke to Destiny today at the Resolution Center, she knew one phrase, its a low usage washer. I would reply, 3 inches of water in a drum does not wash my familys clothes. Every load is covered in white soap specks, whether powder, liquid or pods are used. Again, Id hear, its a lower usage washer. Ok, I got it.The machine has been cleaned with Affresh.This washer cannot clean a single shirt let alone a full load of wash. Maytag (actually made by Whirlpool) should be ashamed to produce such a shoddy product and expect to the consumer to keep paying for repairs. From reading the reviews on a couple of websites, consumers have to keep repairing this washer time and time again. Destiny told me she would send a technician out at my expense. The machine will be in the landfill on Saturday. Never again Maytag/Whirlpool.

Model MFT2776FE200 worst purchase of my life! We purchased the Maytag French Door Refrigerator last year. Within a few months, freezer failed and we had to have a retrofit done. Less than one year it has failed again. No refrig for over one month and still no parts. Hundreds of dollars of wasted food and I’m asked by Maytag Service if I have an extended Warranty. I didn’t realized that a new refrig needed to have an extended warranty. Will NEVER purchase another Maytag product again. We are devastated that spending 3k on a fridge means you might as well throw your money to the wind.

My Maytag refrigerator (bottom freezer) is about four years old now. Since the first year, it has been freezing up. The refrigerator gets warm and the freezer stays cold. Two repairmen have looked at it, replaced the electric panel and the thermostat - neither repair fixed the problem. If you completely defrost it, it will start working again. For about three years, it would work for a few months, but now it will only run for about two weeks before freezing up again. I called Maytag when this first started happening and again recently. They say they have never heard of anyone having this problem and they are sorry. The woman said she would put my complaint in my file. I certainly would recommend that people avoid Maytag refrigerators.

We upgraded and purchased a new Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 300 MDBH955AWQ to benefit our new kitchen remodel. Initially, the dishwasher worked great. I routinely insist on keeping the filters and interior clean as I was raised up believing that if you take care of your equipment, it will take care of you. Very shortly after purchase, there was a fire recall which was taken care of by Maytag and a third party contractor. Then as time went on, it continuously rendered out dishes with debris and food on them. Then it stopped working. It turned out the latch or door handle broke on the pivot point on the interior of the door. I got that replaced and everything was good again. Then about three months later, of course after warranty, it would not start or anything. I verified power and connections and nothing. I spent about $60 on JustAnswer for further advice and the answer was to replace the control board. After about $250 for a service call and $130 additional, it turned out the control board went out. I observed how it appeared to be a poor design due to the control board being exposed to all of the humidity and other moisture from within the dishwasher door. Then after that being fixed, about six months later, the door latch broke again. Its minor enough that you may not realize its broken until you open the door panel back up again. The plastic is breaking Im sure due to the heat and moisture, but its just minor enough that it will not make contact to indicate the door is closed. I got that replaced again for another $140. Four months of that getting fixed and Im getting the same result, no functionality at all from the control panel. In other words, the control board is out again!Ive spent almost as much in repairs that I have for the dishwasher in the first place. As many have stated before, why are we not getting quality products anymore? I went to the Maytag website to see if there were any other additional recalls for this dishwasher, and the recall site was down, so I called. The lady on the phone, as pleasant as she was, indicated that the recall for the heater coil was already performed, which I already knew. I asked, due to the other problems Ive had and money Ive spent, if there were any additional recalls, and of course the reply was no. Im used to staying with a reputable company and providing loyalty to that company for quality products and service, even if I have to spend more initially in order to spend less overall. Obviously, Maytag is now out of the question for future business or referrals. This dishwasher is getting replaced before I put one more dime into it.

Maytag Bravo XL -Model MVWB88OBWO. Washer quit after 13 months of light use. Repairman came, $148.00, worked on just a few setting for 4 loads. It has a bad controller and some other part. Total cost of repair, if I was stupid enough to make it, $650.00. Guess whats going to the trash. I guess that kind of negates the ECO-FRIENDLY, huh? I will NEVER own another Maytag appliance.

SO SO disappointed. I thought by purchasing a Maytag washer and dryer that I was purchasing quality products. Not so. After only 3 yrs, the dryer is broken. It needs a new heating element assembly at $139 plus a visit from the technician and installation. In total, it will cost about $300 to repair. The washer is slowly going also. It takes about 2 minutes before it starts. Never used to do that. The technician told me that these do not last and that the computer is likely to go in another couple of years which will cost $400 to repair. I called Maytag to see what they could do for me. They offered the part at 1/2 price but insisted on another diagnosis even though Ive already had one. That along with their labor cost was going to cost more than anyone else. So no more Maytag products for me.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher MBD7749AWM on 03/15/12 from Home Depot. The control panel went out on 01/24/12 under warranty. The unit was down approximately 2 weeks waiting for parts and a second service call. Just six months later (approximately 08/05/12), the control panel failed again. Thinking that a trusted American, iconic industry leader such as Maytag would stand behind their product, I called for what I thought would be a covered repair. I explained to a supervisor that their panels have not made it 1 year in service. She assured me there were no out of the ordinary problems with the panels for my model dishwasher in one breath, then stated they were out of parts and on backorder for three weeks. Now the truth comes out, further telling me that the unit is out of warranty and nothing can be done short of sending out a repairman, that I would be responsible for parts and service. After further discussion, she reluctantly agreed to send me the part for free if I arrange the installation and told me that it was very simple to install. When the part finally showed up on my doorstep with no paperwork, it was wrong. When I called and complained for waiting 3 weeks for the wrong part because there was no quality control in their parts and shipping department, all they could do was say sorry. They told me just to keep the part they sent and they would send the correct part. I begged that they ship the correct part overnight and they adamantly stated that was not an option. Maytag stipulates their process only allows ground shipping from FedEx per their contract. Knowing I had no other option, I agreed and waited for 5-day ground. The part showed up 13 days later and delivered by USPS. Apparently, I was lied to again and the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Apparently, Maytag/Whirlpool have an inadequate and poorly trained quality control system in place and their manufacturing and electronic divisions are surly lacking a strong management team needed to go in and clean house. Instead, the whole mess they have contributed to continues to haunt Maytag has continued to be made to believe its okay to produce subpar products while continuing the complete demises of a once trusted American, iconic industry leader all while living on the Lorals of twenty years past.Whirlpool would do itself and this country a huge service by just letting this brand die and thrown on the heaps of scrap steel headed for China where maybe they can copy and fix what they were not capable of.

I’m 41 years old and finally had my first new washing machine. Four days later, while my 11 year old had the stomach flu, it died. Not impressed. Apparently the delivery guys left a note on our file saying there was a defect on our washer and that we needed to contact Maytag. This was news to us when we called The Brick today. I hope they didn’t knowingly sell us a defective washer. Alas, we have to wait until Monday with pukey sheets in the washer.

My dishwasher, purchased in 2013 sings the same tune as many of these complaints...stopped working correctly, turned on whenever it wanted to, etc. Thought it was the cpu...no. Called Whirlpool and they gave me the same runaround that they give everyone...more money for a temporary fix. Did some more research that led me here and discovered that the ribbon cable leading to the control panel was fried due to heat and moisture. Easy to check for yourself... looks like brown crap on the cable...if you have a meter, you can easily check it. Tried to repair it, very difficult, but I tried. NEWS?...I wrote a complaint to the Better Business B... and mentioned that this is a safety issue, which it is.Believe it or not, just received a call from the corporate office (Whirlpool) and they were interested...I actually got their attention. They said they would have someone contact me... she did today... so this is encouraging. I dont know what they are offering, but this poor design is a serious problem, and if you want to get in Whirlpools face better go through the BBB. I already have purchased a new part and am adding silicone to the cable to protect it from the heat...but Im really seeking full reimbursement because this is not going to end well. Good luck...

I have just joined the open and close the door Maytag Club. Purchased four Maytag products on Black Friday 2017 as I always trusted Maytag. Only disappointed to have my microwave (MMV4205D-4) come down with the virus (open & close door) that has plagued so many unsuspected owners. Almost made its 1st year anniversary. Now I see this has been going on for years and all they do is add different model numbers at the end. Luckily Im in the 1 year warranty and repairman coming next week. Now I question if I should take the extended warranty as I see this is going to happen again down the road. And will the extended warranty cover it? Guess the Maytag repairman isnt sitting and waiting for repair call anymore. He is being kept busy!

I purchased the Maytag Atlantis Washer and dryer in 2004. I had the washer transmission replaced in 2006, I believe. For about a year now, the washer makes an awful screeching noise. I am not sure if its towards the end of the spin cycle or the rinse cycle, or both. In addition (and over the last 3-4 years), the dial sticks or stalls every delicate cycle. It will stop during the initial agitating and all you can hear is a ticking noise, in which you then have to manually give the dial a slight turn for the cycle to continue. It does it once on the light delicate and twice on the normal delicate. It really is a shame that Maytag is not acknowledging all of these problems as it is not feasible for most people to have a spare $1500 kicking around for a new washer and dryer every time they unfortunately buy a lemon. My previous washer and dryer were 25 years old and still working perfectly when I decided to part with them because they were fairly small. I dont even ever recall having any issues with either one of them in the whole 25 years that I had them. To see all of these complaints makes me more irritated with my appliances and my selection!
