We have owned a Maytag Commercial Centennial washer for 4 years and made the mistake of not buying an extended warranty as we thought Maytag was dependable and a reputable company and thought the manufacturers 10 year limited warranty would cover us. Washer would not spin clothes properly, started making loud noises, lid would not always unlock as time went on, and finally it broke and soaked my tile and it ran through my wall into my hall carpet. Called Maytag and was told we didnt have a 10 year limited parts warranty 6 times (we still have the book that says we do), they offered us a 1 year full warranty for $320.00. We purchased the warranty 11/04/16, Called Maytag as no one knew where the parts were and was told service plan is through AIG. AIG couldnt tell us where the parts were either and when I asked for our refund and we just buy a new washer they advised me they would have to prorate it.Now I feel held hostage. Parts finally come in and Maytag Certified repair man comes to repair machine on 11/30/16, only to be told they could not fix our washer as the screws and transmission rotted and fused to tub. Call Maytag as this should be under my warranty and everyone insists I dont have a warranty. Filed complaint 11/30/16, they sent me a survey on 12/2/16 and I filed my complaint again on the survey. No call from Maytag. Call back on 12/06/16 to be told the survey was them closing my complaint. Now they escalate my complaint and will be called in 48 hours and give me an email address to email my pictures of my warranty. Surprise no call back, so I called them again 12/08/16 and I am advised it takes 3-5 business days. Ask for supervisor and he told me even if I have warranty they will only cover the basket.I will have to pay for technician, and other parts. Still no info on my complaint and you cant talk to anyone just have to wait. I emailed Jeff Fettig CEO of Whirlpool (Whirlpool owns Maytag) as well on 12/6/16 a copy of my complaint with pictures of warranty. The bottom line is Maytag sells junk and their customer service is worse than their product. After being without a washing machine since 11/04/16 we will be buying something Whirlpool does not own which is very limited which is why they can get away with making junk.

After having a Maytag washer/dryer set that lasted 20 years, I decided to go with Maytag again. Big mistake! Centennial Dryer has already broke down and the parts, before the overcharged shipping, was over $100. I wish I had done some research. Maytag is no longer Maytag, it was purchased by Whirlpool. Hence the lack of quality. Not only that, I dislike doing business with heartless companies that just close shop & let loyal employees go while paying upper management fat severance pay. Then Whirlpool changed the vested lifetime benefits of the Maytag retirees. Will not buy another Maytag appliance and will never purchase a Whirlpool product.

I own an iron in case a guest needs to use it but I seriously havent ironed in over 20 years. I moved into a home in November and the appliances stayed with the home. I am systematically destroying my clothes that I always washed and dried but NEVER IRONED. They come out of the Maytag washer already wrinkled. I try to unwrinkle them in the dryer. I took 2 items to the dry cleaners to see if they could steam them but no results yet. What gives Maytag???

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, when I bought my house (7/2010). I live alone and I use my dishwasher only once a week or once every two weeks. After 3 years of working perfect, it stopped working. I had someone come look at it. After troubleshooting with the basic steps, making sure the water was correctly hooked up, a fuse was not the problem. The dishwasher door was shut completely. He took the racks and all movable parts, & thought something, a piece of glass, etc, was stuck in the drain. Nope. After reading these reviews I realize it is got to be the control panel because the start button will not come on and all these people have the similar problem. It just stopped. Period. The panel lights come on, but not the stop button. I am a single person as stated and on disability and on a very tight budget. I bought a Maytag because of the name and reputation. How long would it have lasted under normal use, say a family of 4, using it nightly? Certainly less than a year. I have no idea what to do now. I cannot afford a repairman, & I am certain it is the control panel on the dishwasher. I do of course have all the model numbers, etc & papers, when I bought it. I can provide proper paperwork, when contacted.

The ranges are getting great but are more so with digital than buttons and knobs which they should still have, especially for the handicapped and some elderly who prefer them. It would help prevent injuries. It was hard for me to find the knobs.

MAYTAG BRAVOS WASHER - Biggest mistake I have ever made, like all the other complaints, washer does not clean the clothes. This washer and dryer are in our vacation home. Only used on weekends we are there, now the washer is broken, will not spin and UL light comes on, even with no clothes in it. DO NOT BUY!!! Like others have stated, we need to start a class action lawsuit against Maytag for fraud and knowingly selling junk.

The washer is making loud noises. I had a repairman out and he said the transmission was shot. This washer is only 7.5 years old and the set I had before lasted 19 years. It also was a Maytag. My mother, sisters and aunts have always stood by Maytags and I am disappointed that this washer being 7.5 years old is shot. The dryer to the set is working great!

I built a new house in 2006. As part of a builders package, we had all new stainless steel Maytag appliances installed. The side by side refrigerator compressor stopped after 26 months (of course, passed any warranty). No customer support through Maytag and as previously posted very scripted responses. Maytag microwave handle has broken off several times, the glass seal in the oven door was compromised and the inside glass is stained - most recently the on-going issue with my Maytag dishwasher model mdb5601. Ive already replaced the handle /door latch assembly twice and am confronted with the current dilemma if I should replace the control panel that now appears not to be working. It goes without saying that I will never purchase Maytag products again. However, I am not in a position to replace what are fairly new products. That being said, I am reluctant to purchase costly replacement parts given their poor performance and ratings as mentioned in this thread.

What happened to the days of buying a washer/dryer and having them for years! To spend a thousand on each and have holes in the bellow causing dirty water to Empty on your floor. Not once replaced, not twice, 5 times!!! Now Im looking to buy another. Old school for me...

I bought this washer almost 5 yrs ago and oil has been leaking from it. Called company who sent a tech to my home and declared it a total loss. All he did was tilt it for maybe 1 minute to determine this. I am out a washer. Nothing from this horrible company. They quit making the washer but cant even compensate the owner with anything to purchase a replacement. Will keep passing the word.

The refrigerator had to have repairs in first year. Maytag was aware of freezer issues and reluctantly finally replaced the parts. I had to argue with repairman because he tried to tell me that the freezer was too full.

Purchased in 08 for a second home, we visit every other weekend mostly in summer. I have never been pleased with the set really. It takes too long to wash/dry, clothes get tangled, dryer goes off on first buzzer, wrinkled and now, the control panel has gone out on washer and they say it is approximately $500 to fix. I have probably used it 20 times a year. I have Maytag in Lex, which I have had for 15 years, that is 100% all the way around better.

My fairly new Maytag dishwasher took a break and stopped working. No lights on the control panel although there was power to the appliance. First repair call, I needed a new computer board. Then when the part arrived and was replaced, no lights on the control panel! Fuse checked out ok and now waiting for a control panel replacement. Really??? Dependable Maytag? No way and never again to purchase from this company (Whirlpool).

Received new washer & dryer on Oct 2nd, 2015. The dryer has been acceptable, but the washer has been one problem after another. First of all the washer is so noisy beyond belief. The engineering is one dreadful design. At first attempted use, washer would not begin cycle. Sensor would say lock, unlock, lock, unlock for so long, I would cancel & begin again. It became such an annoyance that I placed start of cycle on a timer (it sat at sensor mode for 20 min.) then I restarted next time sat for 15 minutes without starting. After beginning from start position it would start OR NOT. First repairmen told me timer might be off a bit. As days passed with same issue, second repairmen arrived and found that door was off (not completely closing). Repairmen would place an order for new seal. Upon repairmen arriving for third time (new seal did not solve issue) he believes that lid is uneven, & he will order a new lid & return in a few days to repair. I must admit that service has been quick, but the issue is still a headache. I would NEVER recommend this model to anyone and would like for Maytag to replace washer with a different model. The noise is a factor that no one should have to endure. The grinding noise can be heard from three rooms away from laundry area with laundry room door closed! Im absolutely a very very unhappy customer.

My Maytag Neptune washer also has a problem with mold build-up and now the door lock assembly is totally gone. I was unaware of the class action suit or I would have joined. I am just disappointed!

I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in July 2013. In late November 2014, I noticed water on the floor in front of the fridge. I called the Maytag customer service and reported the problem.. The customer service rep explained to me that Maytag discovered a design flaw in the part that allows the water to drain when going through the defrost cycle. I also called Home Depot. Their response was it was my problem because the fridge was out of warranty and I did not buy an extended warranty plan. After two more calls to Maytag, they scheduled a service appointment. The service repairman told me the same thing about the design flaw. I have the old part and the package the new part was in. The two parts are completely different. I requested that Maytag or Home Depot replace the fridge or give me credit for the amount I spent. Maytag is now saying there was not a design flaw and because of that, Home Depot refuses to replace the appliance. I will never buy another Maytag product or shop at Home Depot. The extended warranty is a way to place the responsibility directly on the consumer and eliminating the responsibility of the manufacturer and the store.

We purchased our Bravos XL Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in November 2012. We also purchased the three-year extended warranty. I just replaced the washer today, and definitely NOT with a Maytag. We only spent that much on the Bravos XL set as we were heading into retirement and wanted to update our appliances. Maytag has always had a decent reputation, so we decided on this particular set.This washer was a terrible purchase decision. The drain hose had to be replaced due to leaking. We handled that fine. However, just past the extended warranty period, the main bearing went out. Also, the transmission was going out, and the washer was spewing nasty black fluid all over from underneath. The repair was going to be a minimum of $750.00 just for the bearing and tub assembly, and the repairman was honest and said it wasnt worth it, to just replace the washer. We didnt even discuss the transmission issue. We were more than a little disappointed in the duration of life out of this washer. I had my other washer for 20 years plus. Thankfully, and hopefully, the dryer will remain in good working order for some time.Being a senior, this was not the expected lifetime I was after out of a major appliance. I dont need this sort of expense every four years, or less as Ive read on these reviews. On average I do 2 to 3 normal sized loads of laundry a week at most. Not good Maytag, not good. If there ever is a class action suit in regard to these machines, Im interested!

The washer is so loud it can be heard all over my home (my home is 2700 sq.). It sounds like metal to metal grinding. I was told thats how the run and the first bit of water isnt enough to even wet the clothes. Id never buy another one (even though this is my 3rd Maytag washer. Im 78 yrs.old).

I have to agree with all these other reviews. This washer twists clothes and does not wash them at all. If you open the lid mid cycle you will see dry clothes on top... Isnt that the whole purpose of a washer? WTF. Steer clear of Maytag. They realize that theyre selling washes to Generation Xers and they can get away with it because we were the first throwaway generation. Great business plan Maytag!

I have not been satisfied with this Bravo washer since purchased 4 years ago. I have been holding back anger, hoping things would somehow improve. Clothes are never really cleaned, cant even fill washer with very many clothes because the washer goes off balance. It takes a lot longer to do laundry. Clothes spin so fast they are in knots when I put them in the dryer. I always have to iron clothes. Today, well today we have a leak coming from under the washer somewhere. So please tell me, what is the advantage to having a HE washer again? By the way, no warranty since its been 4 years. I will never buy another one.

Maytag ser5000 washing machine from hell. When called the customer-service stated over the phone there is bearing problem. When the service-man show up, took one look (approx 50 seconds) at the washing machine (which only 4yrs old), stated he is not touching it and not worth to fix it - get this! Due to bearing! Charged me $200 as standard fee. To put salt on the wound, service-name stated: Ive should told the customer-service bearing problem which is very well known by Maytag! Therefore, save my $200. Note, I will NEVER buy Maytag appliances!!!

These are the issues, Water level is ridiculous, clothes often have dry spots, I use only the high water level which is a joke. The tub bottom is very hard to reach because it is too deep even for a man with a long reach. The tub itself is about 16” deep but never fills more than 4” of water on the high water setting. Why such a deep wide tub when you can only put 4” of water? Cleaning is poor, the machine is very noisy, very. The worst machines we have ever purchased with ridiculous sensors, bells and whistles. The dryer takes forever to dry clothes and again the sensors are a joke. The high efficiency of the units means you work much longer for clothes that are wrinkled, spotted, less clean looking and sometimes damaged. Where is the savings? And don’t say hydro and water as the washer cleaner cost, wipes that out and more. We gave our 26 year old machines to Habitat, neither machine was ever serviced and were in perfect condition, they were Maytag. They have destroyed their name. So sorry we decided to modernize our laundry room.

We loved the YMMV4206 microwave - at first. After the warranty was over, we started having issues where we would put the food in the microwave and try to enter the time, wed get the message to open door and close door. Wed try that and for the next few months it would work. At the 18 month mark, thats all it would do, was tell us to open/close door. We ended up unplugging it and it has been unusable since before Christmas. When I call Maytag and related to the support staff our problem, they were of the attitude that it is out of warranty and we can send someone out to take a look at it - for $130 + HST without even repairing it, that would be to diagnose the problem that we already know, then we would have to wait for them to order the part and come back. Do Not Buy this product.

Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot, model MDB7749SBM1. Bought it last May from Home Depot - in a little more than one year it has already needed 2 repairs to the control panel. We are having a lot of problems finding someone to come and repair it. We want our money back. This is a piece of junk!

I spent over 2000 on a Maytag refrigerator. In less than 5 years, the coolant system has gone out twice! The only response I get is, “We are sorry, but it is 5 years old.” Are you kidding me? I have a 20-year-old fridge in the garage that is still working and I didnt spend over $2k on it! I thought Maytag was the best product out there and it certainly is not. Do not ever buy Maytag.

This is an awful product. I bought this product from Best Buy at the beginning of August 2018, and can no longer return it because it’s past their 14 day return policy. This washer does not wash clothes well. No matter what setting it’s on, clothes come out looking dirtier than prior to washing. Maytag should do what is right and refund customers for this worthless purchase.

We purchased a Maytag Jet Clean Plus in August of 2013. Within 8 months the control panel stopped working. Though it was replaced by one of their technicians it now after 9 months is broke again. How can this be such a crappy product??? Over 800 dollars for a dishwasher to have to go out twice in less than 2 yrs is just wrong. The company needs to stand behind their products!!! I will never buy Maytag again and will advise anyone looking to not waste their money!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I purchased a Maytag model 4000 Front Loading washer in April 2010 and in May 2011, the tub bearings went out which is a $600 repair. Now in January of 2012, the tub bearings are going out again. Neither Lowes nor Maytag are willing to do anything to remedy the situation. Do not buy Maytag and do not buy from Lowes. Their major appliance buyer has to know about this and continues to retail a product not fit for its intended purpose.

Our prior fridge died on a hot long weekend in July 2020. Desperate for a fridge, I ordered any fridge that could be delivered the same day. Received a Maytag which totally died 3 months later! Now I am waiting for a part (which apparently the Manufacturer has 100 in their inventory but havent distributed them to the source that ordered them). This is just the worst service I have ever experienced with an appliance. As so many people have said, I should have waited and ordered a European appliance. They are built beyond perfection and have excellent service.

Bought this Maytag Bravo washer in 2013 expecting long service life like I had with my previous machine. After 2 years spin cycle noise got progressively worse. Until now it roars loudly and keeps stopping in the spin cycle for rebalancing. Called Maytag. Experience was as described as others have reported with them and their repair service. Absolutely no help unless I spend another $310 for extended warranty to cover the $380 part (tub and bearing - 1 unit - cant get only the bearing). Paid $800 for the washer now more for the repair wanted. $1100-$1200 for a machine that will need repair again in a couple of years? Dont think so. This machine is only good for a boat anchor. Going out today to buy a replacement for $400 and it wont be a Maytag or its affiliates brand. Feel like a class action suit would be good for Maytag to wake up to.

I cannot even begin to describe my disappointment in these overpriced machines! Bought a 4-year extended warranty when I purchased and two weeks after warranty expired, my heating element went out on the dryer. This repair cost over 300 bucks. Six months later the washer was making some crazy noise and service guy could not find the cause...another $120 bucks. A few months later the same noise...this time a coin had slid under the bottom plate and caused damage to the machine...another service charge of over $200 bucks plus I purchased an extended one year warranty at $189 bucks. Thank goodness, because now it is throwing an LD code and will not drain. Oh and I forgot about the service call for the latch breaking on the dryer door...another $119 bucks. The repair guy felt sorry for me and didnt charge me for the part. Tangled clothes when washed and forever to dry. Next time I will buy an inexpensive set like I had before that lasted 16 years with no problems! This stuff is junk!

I bought my Maytag refrigerator Sept. 2013 and now in December, 2014 it is dead. After five visits from Maytag to repair it, they say it will cost $1,200 to repair it. The advice the man gave me was throw it out and buy something different. The refrigerator never worked right from the beginning. Four of the visits were in the warranty period. Compressor and evaporator shot. NEVER AGAIN. Maytag does not stand behind what they sell.

I bought the Maytag MVWX700XL1 (Bravos X) model in 2012 from Home Depot. I paid over $800 for this washer. I knew I was in trouble when I found dry spots on clothes after the washing completed. I started using the Bulky cycle. So much for saving water. It has not been overused, its only two of us. Today the spin cycle sounds like a train. The washing cycle has stopped working completely. Im very dissatisfied with this washer.

Bravos XL IS A JUNK. I have had this Maytag washer maybe 2 years at most and it is junk. I called. Told/complained them about the noise during wash cycle and spinning. The 10 years warranty is falsely. The 10 years warranty is covered only 2 components in the entire machine ???? and does not include the labor cost of $130.00 an hour. Sadly, I have seen many negative reviews their product. I didnt check reviews before purchasing, I knew I needed a large basin and wanted the deep fill option. I have had my washer and dryer for 14 months and from day one, my washer eats holes in my clothes. It is always the bottom center front of my shirts. I complained about this and was told it was my clothes. They were either old, or the type of fabric, or too much bleach, etc. etc. Everything was wrong with myclothes except the washer. I purchased a new shirt and washed it without ever had worn it, and when I took it out of the washer, it has holes in the front. NOW YOU TELL ME that is the shirt and not the washer. I have used Maytag for the past 40 years and I never had any problems with the old Maytag washers. This new Bravos is a piece of junk and I am sorry I ever purchased it. I will never buy another Maytag product.

I have a 2-year-and-5-day-old frontloader washing machine. The bearing and axle broke. The repair is over $500.00. It appears to be a known problem, as Maytag knew exactly what was wrong from the description of the noise it makes. They knew all the parts that would be needed. They would send the parts but not help with the labor. Evidently, it is a two-person job requiring several hours. They are not consumer-friendly and do not seem to care that the company reputation is going bad fast.

The washer buzzes. Period. I called Lowes...they said to unplug it then plug it back in so it will reset the computer. I did twice...Nothing. A light comes on for the sensor...Then nothing. I didnt see all the bad reviews for this machine. I had my other Maytag for 24 years and the tub was going bad. This scares me. I will be calling Lowes later. They are selling defective machines and they know it.

It takes almost a whole day to wash 1 load of clothes. The clothes dont get clean! The spin cycle wont let you spin. It runs your electric bill up! This is not a energy saver! I am so angry and disappointed! I thought Maytag was Supposed to be the best. Yall failed me. I wish I could get my money back!

I inherited this Maytag washer, so it has been around a very long time (I have had it for 18 years). It still runs quite well, has 3 levels of wash/rinse, 3 cycles to wash in. Both of us...me and the washer are still kickin together. Highly recommend Maytag.

The whole Control Panel lights are turned off for several minutes. Then they return on. Frequency? Few times per day. Reason? We dont know. No water or ice are dispensed when this happens. No water pipe is kinked, water pressure is OK, no problem with cooling system and nothing happens with food inside refrigerator or freezer. There are no mention made in trouble-shooting section of customer manual. What should we do? In spite of this, we are satisfied with the product so far, after 3 years of use.

All I can say is, Wow. My Maytag washer and dryer have never needed anything in 21 years of service. Purchased in 1997 at Lowes in Chambersburg, PA. Both work and look like new! Both are top of the line units. Would buy again!

Maytag dryer MEDC215EW - This dryer does not dry the clothes without many wrinkles. Sheets just ball up with the inner sheet a mass of wrinkles. Small loads just flop from top to the bottom of the dryer, falling in clumps. I have gone back to having to ironing. Very disturbing!!! I would not recommend this dryer to anyone.

I have a Maytag Centennial washing machine which is about 3 years old. In the past 6 months I have to replace the actuator twice. I have had Maytag washers for about 40 years. I will never purchase another one unless it is the old style. That would mean that it would be a used one. This machine is a bad purchase. Maytag use to stand for quality, but not anymore.

Bought mdb7609aww2 dishwasher in 2010. Now I cant use it as it will not start even though the panel lights of my selected wash cycle work. I looked up on internet how to reset it, but I only get a half cycle. Called customer service and for $269, I can get it fixed and get a one-year warranty. Wow, what a deal. Might as well get a new dishwasher. Joining the lawsuit. It is about time corporations take responsibility for defective merchandise, not make money to correct their mistakes by charging customers for overpriced parts and stupid worthless warranties. A pox on them.

Great when it works properly and doesnt leak! Quietness, cycles. Everything that had to go in went in, well laid out. Stainless steel, clean, good looking. Anything with the Maytag name doesnt last any more than a couple of years. Gone through a washer and dryer with no help from Maytag. The dishwasher was replaced by Maytag because the main circuit board was on backorder for more than 5 months. Washer was replaced with a Samsung. If I had to replace the dishwasher out of pocket I would go to Korea or Europe to do so. Maytag, what a huge fall in quality and reliability!

Yesterday, the main compartment of the refrigerator is not cooling. The freezer still is working. This unit is 2.5 years old! I have never bought an extended warranty before, but on day one, this unit hardly ever shut off. It didnt seem like the electric bill was any higher but never felt good about the unit. Plus, I hated the ice cubes all over the floor when I pulled out the lower drawer. The monitoring device is in the roof of the fridge and takes up a lot of square footage. Nope, will never buy another Maytag. If their products cant last more the at least eight years, then it is such a waste of our money. Do better! Im writing Consumer Report and the President of the company. Who replaces all the food loss?

Our 3-year-old Maytag refrigerator, MFF2558VEAZ, is forming a sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer. The ice partially melts for some reason, and then water leaks out at both bottom corners, usually once a day. Others have reported the same problem. Contact with a repair person is yet to be done. This must represent a factory defect.

My Maytag french door has worked steadily for 12 + years. It’s a basic model, ice maker in freezer. No door dispensers or electronics. I would buy it again.

Weve got a 3 year old dishwasher thats stopped working. First some of the lights on the control panel wouldnt light up, now only one light will light up and it wont start at all. Maytag would be better served to stick with the older mechanical switches and settings if it cant manufacture reliable electronic control panels.

We purchased our French Door, bottom freezer in April 2010 after a renovation. We have loved it besides needing more refrigerated space. This past weekend I noticed the appliance was cutting off and a few seconds later coming back on. It has an outside ice and water dispenser as well and the lights will blink on and off of course when the fridge cut off. Called for a repair and when the repairman called in the parts he was told he needed 2 computer boards. One was available however the other was discontinued and they would not allow him to just replace the one board. The fridge cost us $1798.00 from Home Depot. I cant believe how irresponsible Maytag is in this case. I have a kitchen full of MAYTAG appliances and have loved them all. But this is unacceptable. The Maytag fridge I had before was 16 years old. I gave it to a family member when we bought this one and that one just broke down last year so it was 21 years old! Whats up MAYTAG?

I purchased my Maytag gas range (model number mGR7665WB) on Thanksgiving 2011! It worked fine until May 2012. Then the bake function just stopped working. If I select bake, the temperature fails to rise above 100F and a sickening gas smell fills the kitchen! PC Richards, where I purchased the product from, sent a repairman who took two weeks and two visits to fix the part! Everything was working fine until six months later during cooking for a full house on the day of my daughters birthday party. Same problem, bake function failed again along with gas smell! I was pregnant at the time and very worried about the gas smell! We had to leave the house a few days after that due to the hurricane and when I returned, everything worked great for a few weeks only to fail on Christmas Eve leaving me to cook the meat for our Christmas Day dinner in a neighbors house, highly embarrassing and inconvenient! Now Maytag and PC Richards are only able to repair at a high cost to me which I cant afford and feel I shouldnt be responsible for as this product has been consistently unreliable and possibly dangerous. I am especially concerned about the gas smell as I have a newborn and a 3-year old in our small apartment!

I have written to Whirlpool about complaints with this range and was very dissatisfied with response. The following were complaints on above range: Range does not have a light on it as the past ranges had. It is very much needed. Grates on burner are to high, therefore it takes longer for items in pot to heat up. Type of steel used on range is very thin and tiny, in other words very poor quality. This is what has happened since Whirlpool bought out Maytag. Quality of Steel that Maytag used is no longer since Whirlpool took over their products. This is true of All their Appliances (Refrigerators, Washers, Dryers, and Ranges). All meaning appliances manufactured by Whirlpool.Manual knobs for turning on oven have been replaced by touch screens, these eventually wear out and are very costly to replace. If it works why change it. Drawers on bottom of range used to be larger, now they are narrow and smaller height wise. Residue on base of burner appears quite frequently and has to be cleaned even if no overspills occur. And why cant Whirlpool make quality merchandise as good as Maytag use to make. Regarding the physical appearance of Range it is very attractive in looks, however Looking good and functioning poorly with inadequate materials used in construction of Appliances outweighs benefits of looking good. My wife and I regret not returning this appliance within 90 days of purchase. In the future we will not purchase Whirlpool or any other appliances manufactured by them if that is possible. Purchased this Calypso machine as a second machine for my ranch to handle really dirty clothes. Purchased from Sears Outlet as a refurb machine would be fine for the purpose. Machine was alleged to work by Sears. Paid several hundred for the machine, brought it home, and voila it does not work. New hoses, ran all the checks, and will not fill. Called Sears and, despite the statements of the manager, was told that I have to have a 3 day old machine repaired and not replaced. This POS did not even work out of the box. Years ago I had a Calypso which is now a flower pot. Junk, Junk, Junk. NEVER buy anything from Maytag or Whirlpool.

I purchased the Maytag oven in January and have had the service technician out 5 times to try to repair the oven because it doesnt heat properly. Theyve told me that because I live in a condominium that it is normal for the oven to take an hour to preheat, then another hour for the second oven to preheat. When I am baking the oven does not hold the temperature and anything I bake takes much longer than it should. They refuse to get me a new oven.

Replacing a working but noisy 14 year old Sears dishwasher for the newer Maytag was my bone head move for 2011. It died the first year control panel shot, no warranty. Paid for repair. This month dead again; same problem. Recall this stainless steel garbage. Maytag model MDBH949. Maytag, never again. Bought twice and last time.

BUYER BEWARE!!! We purchased a Maytag Dishwasher mdbh979sab1 on November 23, 2012. It is now July 31, 2014. One year and a half and the control panel is not working. Ive looked at estimates online of $450.00 for parts and labor. Customer service is no help at all, nothing they can do. She actually recommended KitchenAid for our next appliance. Maytag has become a terrible brand. We will never buy from them again. By the way, they also made our Jenn Air Oven, which turned itself on a number of times while we were away. 350 degrees. That was a total loss as well. We are filling up landfills with our Maytag/Whirlpool appliances and you will too.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL Commercial Technology top loading washer, model # MVWB850YWO, in May 2012 and it was delivered in August 2012 due to a home purchase not being consummated. Anyway, I bought this washer and the matching dryer at Lowes and purchased a 4 year extended warranty with Lowes. This would cover me with a warranty through August 2017. I had some problems with the washer while under warranty and had it repaired at least twice. I have had, and still do, have a water leakage in the washer. The water when dispensing into the detergent compartment splashes over and you would think it would just go into the tub. Someway the water leaks down the inside of the washer and runs out onto the floor also causing rust to the inside of the front panel. The resolution was to turn the water pressure down on the supply lines. When this was done, the washer would quit running due to not enough water being dispersed into the drum. A replacement seal was installed and I still have the same problem. The repairmans final resolution was to put tape over half of the detergent dispenser to hold the water in the detergent dispenser and still allow me to put detergent in the dispenser. So, a towel is in front of the washer to soak up any leakage. Now, just 5 months after the extended warranty expired, the bearings under the wash tub are starting to roar during the spin cycle. I contacted Lowes service again and basically I am out of luck. The repair cost is expensive, the part and requires 2-3 hours of labor. I decided to chuck this washer and buy a new one. My wife found one that has an agitator, unfortunately another Maytag, and wants it as she has said the Bravos washer never seemed to get the clothes clean (due to not having an agitator). When checking online for references on a new washer and any recalls on my current washer, I discovered other Bravos XL owners having the same problem with the bearings in the tub. I contacted a local business to try and sell it to him for cheap and when I told him what was wrong with my washer his reply was, I have one just like it out back with the same problem. Dont need two problems. Cant even get rid of a Maytag washer due to it being junk. Many other reviews have listed problems with Maytag products especially since Whirlpool bought them. The Maytags of today are not your parents Maytag. Used to be the Maytag repairman sat around his office waiting for repair calls. This has changed considerably since Maytag sold out to Whirlpool. After doing some research, it seems Whirlpool has bought just about every company selling washers and dryers and are making them as a disposable item. I would advise not purchasing any product that is under the Whirlpool corporate umbrella as I feel whatever they buy, even a superior product like Maytag, they cheapen the product and try to benefit from the name, as in the case with Maytag. Purchased what was supposed to be a good dishwasher. In less than 3 years the control panel went out. It would cost more to replace the panel than to buy a new dishwasher. I will never buy another Maytag product.

I bought this Maytag refrigerator model MF 12269FRB00. It is not, user friendly, meaning that condiments and small bottles just dont fit conveniently in any space, The biggest issue is the ice maker. The ice maker shoots ice out on each and every attempt. Every time you want ice you are guaranteed to have ice shoot out of your glass on to the floor. I often challenge my guests to get ice without the cubes shooting out of the glass. No one has ever won. Dont buy this piece of crap, unless you find humor in having ice on your floor every time. Shout out to Grays Appliance in Melrose for selling crap! I will never buy from them or Maytag again. To the engineers who designed this product, you suck too!

Maytag will not fix 2 major issues with new $700 Maytag dryer bought from Home Depot who takes no responsibility. They wont return it. Maytag wont replace defective dryer unless technician from totem appliances cannot fix problem. The tech ordered a control board and timer. Only installed the timer. He did not fix 2 issues. Dryer never stops at OFF. Dryer leaves damp spots on any clothing whether small or medium large load. Was told by Maytag if damp spots then its OUR problem... our ventilation. No it is your sensor. Our model is ymedc465hwo serial m820. 07331. Bought in late Oct. 2018. Two supervisors later we are being sent to tech or tech company and played games with. All I know is Maytag sells defective dryers then wont replace them or fix main issue.

Purchased a stackable washer and dryer (Maytag) for our new condo in Feb 2015. After it was installed a few months later the problems began. The washer wasnt removing the water from the clothes. We contacted Maytag and they informed us that they subcontract out to a company called Appliance Service of Central Florida (727-462-0394). Contacted Appliance Service and set up a date to be serviced. Since then, we have had Appliance Service out to our place over 8 times. They found fault in our control panel, our door lock, replaced our motor and have replace several other parts. It has been over 4 months since they started repairs on our machine and have informed me that they have a right to try and fix the problem. I have no problem with this but when and how long do I have to put up with this? They dont seem to care that my wife and I havent had a working washer in over 4 months.The people doing the repairs stated that this machine should have been replaced because it had or has several problems with it and after replacing the motor, electric panel etc it still isnt working. When I contacted Maytag they stated that as long as Appliance Service is working on the problem, it out of their hands. Is there anything I can do besides contacting a lawyer and spending more money?

The Maytag Bravo Washing Machine was sold as the top of the line. In reality it is very difficult to work with for three specific reasons. First, the spin speed is too high causing the clothes to be wound into tight balls causing pilling and the need to iron everything from t-shirts to workout pants. Second, the spin speed is so high that you can only put a few towels in the washer at a time or the machine goes off kilter several times a cycle. Finally, if you lower the spin speed the items take forever to dry. I used this for less than 30 days and tried to return it but Maytag would not take it back. The only cycle type I can use is the rapid wash unless I want to spend all day washing and drying one load. I hate this washer more than I can describe and will NEVER purchase another Maytag product. It absolutely ruins your clothes and Maytag takes no responsibility for making a very bad product.

Maytag used to make a great laundry machine. The barrel of the Bravos XL machine is very deep, and it is difficult to reach the bottom of the machine to get clothes out. My biggest complaint is that the clothes dont get clean; there is not enough water filling the machine to clean the clothes. The clothes get wet, but there is no agitator, and the water isnt deep enough to suspend the dirt and wash it away, even on the deep wash setting. There is also a lot of lint left on the clothes that cant rinse off. Why is the barrel of the machine so deep if it only fills up 1/6 of the height? I had great hopes, but I really regret buying it.

Bought this Dishwasher two years ago. Control panel was working intermittently now it does not work. I am looking for anyone with this same problem. I know lawyers who are class action specialists who fight for the consumer. We need to make Maytag responsible for the flaws they have in their product. From reading these other reviews it seems that this control panel issue is consistent no matter what model you have. They must all share the same electrical components that is causing this issue with the control panel. My model number is MDB8959SBS2.

Maytag calls peeling paint a cosmetic issue. With a convection oven it could be a toxicity issue. Waiting for an answer to my question as the fan blows the peeling paint onto anything that is not covered. Dont put foil on the bottom as this compromises the paint due to design. Truly sorry to have purchased Maytag as this line is not the Maytag we grew up with! Old school ovens and products had the quality or workmanship to last.

I also bought a Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW and matching dryer model #MDG5500AWW in 2001 and within a month, I called Sears and Maytag. I told them about the terrible odor and mold growing. The repairman said it is normal and told me to use Tide detergent once every two weeks. The dryer had a major breakdown and I had to buy a whole header with all the electrical components. I too bought the brand name Maytag due to a good reputation that Maytag had. I never received a recall notice or anything from Maytag. I will never buy Maytag products again. I found out from a salesperson at Sears that Maytag was sold to Whirlpool. The salesperson said the reviews are terrible for Maytag products especially for my models. I will never buy from Sears, etc. What can you do for me? Maytag and Whirlpool need to take their responsibility for their products! I am truly lucky I did not buy a plane from them. I and a lot of people would be dead.

The control panel went bad on our Maytag dishwasher of only 4 years that is only run about once a week, A replacement part would cost more than half of what the dishwasher originally cost, so we have decided to go with a KitchenAid. Not pleased at all with the longevity of the Maytag.

This dishwasher product has a design defect. It should be recalled.

Absolutely the worst washer we have ever had. Clothes come out smelling and look like they havent been washed. I should have bought a cheap washer, I bet my clothes would have been cleaner. 3 months after we purchased our Maytag dishwasher in Jan 2014 (Sears) it broke. The service person told us that the ELECTRONIC CONTROL PANEL (START, CANCEL, WASH CYCLE SELECTIONS) was a common breakage issue and fixed it. It broke again around one year from our purchase date. Same issue, but kept working and not working. Finally we contacted Maytags customer service. Although courteous the only thing we were offered for this common Maytag issue was a $249.95 one year warranty for them to come and fix this recurring problem. I explained that we had already spent about $870 (including tax, delivery and installation) for our middle of the line dishwasher one and a half years ago and asked if they would consider either charging us for a smaller service call/repair or just do it because it seems to be a design and manufacturing issue. After one hour and no sympathy I had to pay the $249.95 to get a repair person out and be covered for one year from today. I dont trust the cheap quality and the lack of support for the product. THEY ARE OUT THERE TO SELL MORE INSURANCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESNT MATTER!

I purchased a new electric oven/stove, dishwasher and over the stove microwave. My dishwasher didn’t work from installation and it took Maytag over a month and half to repair. My oven door hasn’t worked properly since purchased and finally broke and I have been without an oven for two weeks waiting on repair. The customer service does not listen to you and seem to be completely unconcerned about your problem. I was told the item broken was a common stocked item and the repair would be quick but that was not true. The repairman told me they would have my parts in a week and would install them on a Monday. They have now scheduled my repair for Thursday. Over two weeks with no working oven. I will never purchase a Maytag appliance of any kind due to the terrible customer service.

We bought a new Maytag dishwasher MDB7609 as part of the 2010 recall. Within the first twelve months the black skirt at the bottom of the door collapsed to the floor. It was in small pieces and brittle as though exposed to excess heat. The repairman fixed it free but made the point it was not covered under warranty. Next the heated dry cycle baked the water onto the dishes forming a white crusty layer. We have a water softener that works very well. We stopped using heated dry because it is too hot. Last night before bed, I was standing in the kitchen and I smelled something burning. My wife had mistakenly programmed heated dry into the cycle. Obviously this dishwasher is as much a fire hazard as the one it replaced but no recall has been issued yet.

I bought two sets of Maytag washer and dryer. We have had them for less than a year and the tubs had to be replaced out of both of them. Now, its less than six months later and they are doing the same thing, so the tubs have to be replaced again. What kind of equipment are you making? This is just an outrage. I have to rewash many load of dark clothing because pale white smears appear on the clothing most times. Ive tried various cleaning methods to try to remove any residue that might be in the walls of the tub. Unfortunately, I cant afford to replace the Maytag white elephant model 500XWZ, serial C31430894. I no longer have the receipt. Buyer, beware. No Maytags in my future.

This range and oven get unsafe, very hot on the surface and sides. Also, first time we used the oven, our oven mitts and bbq tools caught fire in the storage drawer.

Purchased top of the line Gemini oven a few years ago. Lower oven stopped working. Maytag repair said igniter not installed properly at factory. I contact Maytag customer service to see if they would help with repair cost. Rude response from them... basically saying anything fails after 12 months not our fault. Rejected my request without even asking details about product which model etc. Unilateral rejection. Horrible customer service. I will never purchase Maytag appliance again. In August of 2009, we had an opportunity to remodel our kitchen plus add new windows and doors. How exciting! SO we had put down new flooring in our kitchen that matched our oak cabinets and since we had a little money saved, we wanted to purchase new appliances to match. We purchased a Maytag side by side with ice and water in the door. It also had the fingerprint resistant stuff on the outside. It cost about $1300. You buy name brand so they will last a while but here we are November 12, 2014, 7 years later and the compressor goes out. If repaired, it will cost $8090 to fix. Why do I want another Maytag. We had a Whirlpool stove/oven for many years, and it was finally time to trade it in. Everything about that unit was good. While shopping for another Whirlpool, the sales rep told us that Maytag and Whirlpool are one and the same. That we found, is false. An important feature for us in an appliance is the self cleaning oven. The Maytag oven had to be leveled four times after it was installed, in order for the self clean feature to function. The self clean part is only a small indented portion of the bottom of the oven, not the entire oven. And even that does not clean. After going through the dealership service about this problem, I contacted Maytag. My final frustrated summary to the rep was that I understand that we bought a lemon, and you are not going to help us in any way. I just want to say to anyone considering a Maytag stove and oven, raise your standard. If you choose Maytag, you will only be disappointed. I am.

I made the mistake of buying the stainless steel bottom freezer (model# MBL2258XES1) approximately 1 year before the freezer started to make a periodic clunking sound. The repairman responded because my year warranty was still active and found no cause for the noise. Fast forward a couple of months later and it started pouring water out onto my hardwood floors!!! Unfortunately it happened while we were away and my floors were destroyed. Maytag wants nothing to do with me. Im so disgusted. I now have to have a towel permanently on my kitchen floor. Nice. I made the unfortunate mistake of buying an Amana dishwasher recently not knowing that they were also owned by Maytag. Zero should be a choice on overall experience. I purchased a Maytag Bravo 300 from Lowes in February of 2011. Last week I was doing a load of laundry and the washer stopped in mid-cycle, and it gave an alarm and error code ld. I checked out the manual and it said there was a problem with the drain line. I check the drain line and it was fine, so I called Maytag to have a service man take a look at it. Before he even looked at the washer, he said it was probably the pump, and it is not covered under warranty. And he said that it would cost $140. He obviously sees this all the time. He explained that the pump is too small for the unit and it does not allow anything to go through the pump. Please make sure anyone who may be considering buying one of these units knows right up front that they are going to have issues with the pump, even if a small pebble gets caught in the pump.

I love the way it can really handle large loads. The dryer is the best though. It actually dries your load without you having to turn it on more. There are many different choices that handle drying. So, no more to the bone drying.

The Maytag Maxima XL front load steam washer is awesome. Its reliable and does an amazing job. There are so many features and settings and it makes my life easier when it comes to doing laundry. My favorite feature is the allergen setting which gets rid of allergens in my fabrics.

Maytag washer Model #: MVWX655DW - I purchased this machine at Lowes in May of 2016. Always was a loud machine but seemed to work ok. In April 2018 the machine stopped working correctly. The spin cycle would lock up and not finish leaving clothes soaked. Called Lowes and waited for their repairman. He came and said it was the clutch and drive motor. Repair is over $400. Machine is worthless. Huge mistake. Never buy a Maytag. I called Maytag to see if they would warranty it. They basically said, Sorry only a one-year warranty on it. I told them the reason I bought it was it had 10-year warranty on it. They said only certain parts but its the drive motor that is clearly marked on the machine that has the 10-year warranty. I was told, No sorry. What huge waste of money. I am out close to $600 and Lowes only give you a store credit with their protection plan.The credit is not enough to purchase another machine without more out of pocket expenses. I will never buy another Maytag and I would not recommend anyone else does. Their warranty is a huge joke. Their customer service is terrible. Maytag should not even bother sticking the 10-year drive motor warranty on their machines. They do not honor it. My advice do not even consider buying one. You will be out the money and be purchasing a new machine within two years.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in Jan 2012 at Home Depot. It ran fine for 1 and 1/2 years and was only used 2-3 times per week. I returned from vacation and now needs a new control board at a cost of $300. I felt Maytag was a reputable company and am very disappointed. I am a senior and on fixed income and now sorry I chose a Maytag. I will get it fixed this time but that is the last money I will invest in Maytag appliances and repairs. I worry that the washer and dryer will go next as they are also Maytag and are just over 1 yr old.

My husband and I bought a Bravo XL washer in the fall of 2015. I certainly wish we had read the reviews on this site of this product. We would have saved ourselves a lot of money and grief. This machine does not clean clothes and actually damages them during the spin cycle as reported by others. This low water no agitator technology does not work on a top loader. Stuff doesnt come clean! Im not sure what we are going to do but we learned a valuable lesson the hard way. We purchased this machine in September of 2015 and are unhappy with it!

Maytag msd2650kes refrigerator - I replaced compressor switch three times then compressor went out after only almost four years. We bought all new Maytag when remodeling. Never again will we ever be that stupid again.

In reading the reviews of a Maytag Dishwasher, I am also frustrated in the dishwasher is only 3 years old and the start button does not work. It cost $75.00 for the repair person to come in to take a look at it which they deduct from the cost, total repair cost $300.00. Did not make sense at this time to have to pay the $75.00 repair person and then purchase another $500.00 dishwasher so paid the total $300.00 hoping to get a few more years out of Maytag dishwasher. By the other reviews, may not be possible. Just very frustrating.

This machine does a great job at cleaning clothes. The clothes are always great in color, and removal of removable spots. The cycles are not too long and the machine is not noisy. Machine is nice looking and water cycles can be normal or large.

Maytag BRAVOS XL Washer - The worst washer I have ever used. Do not buy! It does not use enough water and leaves a white scummy residue on dark clothes. You have to wash them all off in warm water and then send it through one or two more rinses to get it washed off. I may as well do laundry by hand! Absolutely disgusting!

This is was my first time experience to purchase Maytag Bravos XL (MWWB835DW) 5.3-cu High Efficiency Washer. I need it fast replacement to my front loader Samsung washer as it was recalled and had mold issues. I was looking for a High Efficient and Star Energy digital, glass top reliable machine. I may say that I was fooled by advertisement and promotion from the Advertisement and promotion from Home Depot. I did not know much about Maytag Brand but I was convinced by sales person and price promotion. Big Mistake! Huge! I am extremely dissatisfied with this washer, it doesn’t use enough water to cover the clothes! No matter which cycle you use, the clothes don’t come clean.I wash and re-wash my clothes and ending up paying huge water and electric bills as I have to use deep hot water wash each time and after rewash again! Not so High Efficient! After using this machine for just over 6 month all my white expensive towels turned gray and all my whites is no longer white. This washer ruin my clothes. Another problem that this machine doesn’t have small load quick wash and if you have a small load it will go through 50 minutes cycle and I still need another wash after all! If I would wash my king size comforter I still have to do it twice and it does NOT rinse all the water out! I thought I can do big load but this machine cannot handle big loads!My laundry days became a nightmare! I would not call this machine High Efficient at all! Company does bogus advertisement just to fool and attract consumers. This is terrible washer which make me think how possibly this machine is on the market and allowed to be sold? I am hoping that Consumer Protection will step in and evaluate numbers of complaints and will help those who were fooled and ripped off by such a false advertisement.

I have purchased the Bravo washer less than 2 years ago. Within one year the mother board went. They replaced it because it was less than a year. Here I am not a year later and the mother board went again. It’s not under warranty so this time its on me. I call and all they say is “there is nothing saying they are having any problems with this.” Now I happen to know my own sister bought the same washer one month before I did. She was also told it was her mother board. It was almost as much to replace than to buy a new washer and by the way she is the who recommend the product to me, so I know she called Maytag and complained so if 2 of us in the same family had an issue I find it hard to believe no one else did. You call and they could care less. I would recommend never to purchase Maytag AGAIN!
