I purchased top of the line Maytag washer and dryer in 1975! They are Harvest Gold. They were sold last week along with my house. I now have Whirlpool appliances in the rental apartment I moved to. There are some irritating features.

We bought a new home with all new Maytag appliances. Our Maytag dishwasher has had 3 new handles, 1 inside tub and now needs a new touch panel. Our Maytag oven/stove has needed three ignitors and the oven door has never been right! The microwave is the only appliance that we have not had a service call. Appliances are expensive along with parts and labor for service calls. I will not be purchasing any more Maytag appliances. The standard comment by repairman: They dont make them like they used to. How sad is that!!

The freezer will frost up and the shelves will not move. Repairman has been out three times, once to clean the drain. The second time he installed new tracks for 250.00. Two hours later they still wont move. The third time out he said it was repaired, but two hours later they didnt move again. We are very disappointed with Maytag.

Unreliable! When you push start, it goes into sensing mode and starts to fill. You walk away thinking it will run to find out an hour later it is still in sensing mode! Wasting electricity, your time and talk about stress! You have a 50-50 chance it will go on and run the load, but if you dont have time to stand there and watch it. FORGET THIS WASHER. Also does not clean as the old agitator washer, which I luckily still have, yeah. Always read reviews before buying anything. Nice website.

Purchased the Bravos XL top load washer a month ago. We work outside daily and our clothes get very dirty. I havent really taxed the machine yet (Im doing what I consider a normal load of wash. I know the machine could handle twice as many clothes as its the 5.3 cubic feet washer, but I havent had that many clothes to put in at one time). The washer works great. Clothes are clean and smell fresh. For those that say this washer is extremely loud - you must not have something set up incorrectly. Either the wet pan you put under the machine is making contact with parts it shouldnt or someone didnt level it properly. Really, this is NOT a loud machine. We purchased from Lowes and they delivered, set up and leveled both the washer and dryer. (Yes, we also purchased the matching Bravos XL front load dryer and were impressed that it dries our clothes in half the time our old one did). We would definitely recommend the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer.

I purchased my machine on June 2, 2021 and it was delivered and installed on June 4. I have successfully done two loads of laundry. On June 9, I attempted washing two small bath mats and 2 dish towels. When I returned to the laundry room to place the load in my dryer, I found the the items in soapy water. I tried many times to reset the load with no success. On June 10th I called Maytag’s customer service and spoke with an associate who walked me through a couple of common quick fixes. These also were unsuccessful. She referred me to warranty service. I will not be able to have my machine repaired until June 23rd! Obviously, if their repair department is so overwhelmed, the products they sell are a piece of junk. I am furious with both the product and the service I have received.

I have a Maytag fridge (model # 2258VEM4) which I have had for 4 years. A few months ago, it started leaking water on the floor and notice that it had a bed of ice on the floor of the freezer. Reading the list of complaints in this site for the same issue, it sounds like it is a design problem.

We went to Lowe’s to buy a new washer when our old front loader would’ve cost more to repair than was worth it. This Bravo XL washer is the biggest rip off EVER!! I, like others, have watched with a flashlight & see that most clothes are nowhere NEAR being wet AT ALL!! Let me tell you... I am BEYOND LIVID!! I bought this washer thinking we could wash our comforter at home instead of a laundromat and WHAT A JOKE!! It would never even wet a FOURTH of a queen comforter, let alone the whole thing!! My husband had to actually LEAVE HIS JOB to go home and change because his shirts smelled like a wet animal! People actually were commenting on the smell!!Believe me, we tell EVERYONE how ridiculous this whole energy saving scam is!! AND... I am having to wash clothes TWO and THREE times to get them NEAR smelling normal!! My electric bill and water bill have gone up substantially and again, I AM LIVID BEYOND WORDS!! We spent over $900 for this washer with the extended warranty!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I BUY MAYTAG!!! And I have tried EVERYTHING to try to rectify this; I added less detergent, I’ve used the deep water wash, extra rinses. I’ve had the Maytag technician here replacing the circuit board thinking perhaps THAT would give me more water. I sure wish we could all do something for SO MANY of us being taken advantage of!!! Did I mention I’m FUMING?!!?

We were replacing a 4 year old Whirlpool Duet washer (bought on recommendation from sister-in-law) that needed the third repair and was putting holes in our clothes. We had purchased the warranty (which we had never done before) so Lowes gave us the choice of machines and we decided to go with the Maytag Bravos. Lo and behold, were still getting holes in clothes. Several repairman told us the issue is common and is caused by the force of the water flowing into the machines plus the rapid spin cycle which pushes the clothes through the punched holes in the tub and the clothes catch on the metal on opposite side of the tub. Turns out sister-in-law had the same problem with her Duet and (not knowing I bought the Bravos and had the same issues) bought the Bravos and also is still getting holes. So I know its not just me.We also have problem with the machine not putting in enough water so clothes do not come out clean. In fact, a lot of stuff comes out with areas that havent even gotten wet during the wash cycle. I just want an old fashioned machine with an agitator that fills the machine fully, washes my clothes and doesnt put holes in them.

Our 3-year-old Maytag refrigerator, MFF2558VEAZ, is forming a sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer. The ice partially melts for some reason, and then water leaks out at both bottom corners, usually once a day. Others have reported the same problem. Contact with a repair person is yet to be done. This must represent a factory defect.

My Maytag refrigerator Model MFX2571XEMS has to constantly be defrosted due to ice accumulation in the bottom of the freezer. If not defrosted, water leaks out onto our hardwood floor. Maytag will not do anything to resolve this problem. We were told by a repairman that we have to defrost it manually to fix the problem. Yeah at least every 2 weeks. What a rip off.

I purchased this five-burner gas stove two years ago. I have this stove repaired three times. The first and second problem with the stove is when I turned on the oven, it would never click on. This was a month after I purchased the stove. They sent someone over to correct the problem and that did not work. The third time someone came. He changed something in the oven and it started to work. After that, I continue to have trouble with the oven. When I have the top eyes on, the oven will not work. When I only turn on the oven, it will go to 350 only. It will cook for an half hour and then cut off. I smell gas in my house and my food is smelling like gas. I have stop using the oven. I did not purchase a stove to not use the oven. This is totally ridiculous!!! I am tired of this situation. Maytag needs to recall these ovens, so I can purchase an oven that works. I have thrown food away because it smells like gas - because the oven will cut off in the middle of cooking. I am very tired of this situation and when you call Maytag, their customer service is terrible. I will never buy Maytags products again. Please help.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher with a control panel in September of 2013. In August of 2014, the control panel died and did not allow me to run the washer. In March of 2015, the piece which was replaced died. When contacting Maytag, even when they did the repair the first time, said they were unable to cover the cost because it was now out of warranty. Ive seen several class action lawsuits around the product with Maytag. Do not buy a Maytag. It used to be a quality brand, but is now terrible.

My refrigerator is several years old, and I would buy the same brand when I need a new one, although I would hopefully buy a counter depth one because my kitchen is so small, and the one I have now is kind of big for the space.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator Model # MBF 2254HEW, Serial # 14560744NG. It worked for 7 years and now its dead. Well it does blow warm air. We are told it cost so much to fix one that we would be better off to buy new. I bought an extended warranty but of course all is out of warranty and Maytag is sorry for the inconvenience and that parts do fail. I am going back to using the old style refrigerators that last rather than paying an enormous amount of money to buy something new and looks nice but will only last a few years. When is a recall in order? When are companies required to do better for the customer? We are told that the compressor might be OK but it could be low on coolant but it is very difficult to find a leak.

We have had 2 Maytag dishwashers only last less than 2 years. Since we can only have a portable because of owning an older home the expense is too much anymore. We also had a Maytag Neptune clothes washer last only 2 1/2 years. We had always respected Maytag and trusted them. That trust is gone. It is too expensive to buy and lose them after barely 1 1/2 years. We had a Kenmore that lasted 23 years. I dont know what company to trust anymore. I have a Maytag microwave and stove in my condo kitchen. Both are about 4 years old. Ill never buy another Maytag appliance again. This stove had problems from day 1 and the support was dismal. I had [bought] an extended warranty, which covered nothing (I let it expire and didnt renew). The microwave handle came off in my hand a few months ago. I stuck it back on with gorilla glue. Now it is starting to shut itself off, as if it lost power then mysteriously turn itself back on. Im sure there will be a new microwave in my future and it wont be a Maytag.

We bought a Maytag 2000 Series machine about 2 years ago. At first the machine worked great, as a new machine should. Then, after about 7 months water started pouring out of the top dispenser for detergent. I read the manual and looked online at the Maytag website for common problems. It said that sometimes small clothing gets sucked through the hose and needs to be unclogged. I followed the instructions to fix the problem. It worked fine for about 2 weeks later during the middle of a load the machine would stop and give me error codes. I looked these codes up and now I have another clog on the drain tube that needs to be fixed. Lo and behold these 2 problems have been continuing ever since. I cannot do a load of laundry without getting a code and having to take the machine apart. I called Maytag to explain my situation and the customer service representative said that because I fixed the problem myself at this point there is nothing that can be done. They do not guarantee that their equipment will work nor will they help solve the problem. I cannot believe that we spent so much money on something that I cant use. Not to mention the fact that when I do complete a load some of the clothes are ruined by the machine ripping holes in them. I would not recommend buying a Maytag because they dont care about customer satisfaction or the quality of machines they sell.

I was all too excited to FINALLY own a new set! I conducted research and read reviews. We decided on the Maytag Bravo XL set (Lowes) and was thrilled! For the first 6 months. They were both fantastic! 6 months later, several times the clothes washed were soaking wet as if they had been set on soak. It continuously alerted to clean after 3 loads. The dryer... Well, evidently, if you live in a high-humidity region, DO NOT HOOK TO THE WATER LINE FOR THE STEAM OPTION. It will soak your dry clothes! After 3 loads of drying, it fails to re-start for the 4th load for at least 12 hours! When paying over $1,590 for a new set, this should not be an issue. Mind you, I do laundry once a week - 5 to 7 loads including linen. Fortunately, we paid an additional $200 for the warranty at Lowes.Lets see what happens there!

Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer - We are usually review writers. I just felt it was our duty to help others save their hard-earned dollars and not purchase this product. We have owned this expensive and highly researched set for a bit over 2 years. We have had to have repairmen out a half dozen times for dryer repairs. The washer was purchased with the largest tub because I wanted to be able to wash a full load of sheets or a blanket. NOT!!! It gets off balanced, twists every single item (as in blue jeans, towels, soft t-shirts, etc...any weight or size) into a huge mess and has actually ruined some of my clothing. The dryer gives me error messages all the time. I am beyond words with my disappointment. We saved a long time for this set and now are absolutely stuck for a long time before we can replace. You know Maytag my message to you is that hard-working people used to trust your company name. I have been married 43 years and we keep our purchases for many years. I have never in all these years been so disappointed in the huge purchase we made thinking it was a lifetime investment. Now I am doing everything I can to save this year so maybe can replace it down the road as soon as we can. I am telling you people reading this... DO NOT BUY THIS SET. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

First off, everyone seeing this should be fuming as I am because we are mostly in the same boat with these control panel issues. Mine is Maytag model MDB7749SBM3 about 575.00. A little bit cheaper than most of you because I purchased at the online and had a rebate. About a couple months after the warranty expired, we started having weird light issues with the control panel where are one light would pop up when you didnt hit it or other lights would pop up when you hit something else. We kept dealing with it thinking that it would dry out and resolve itself. Lo and behold, just like it appears to be tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of machines, it quit. I read this consumer affairs post after it quit and now I know why it did. I opened up the control panel and sure enough, the little ribbon that connects all the electrical connections had brown on the back like it was burnt through. I was able to find a special 1 800 number that Whirlpool has set up because they have purchased Maytag and the woman I spoke with said they would send a technician out and that I was responsible for the diagnostic fee. I was born but it wasnt yesterday. I immediately said to the woman, Absolutely unacceptable. I am NOT paying for anything, very politely highlighting the fact that I know they settled a class action lawsuit in California regarding a control panel issue and there are hundreds maybe thousands of complaints on consumer affairs.com. The woman place me on hold, I am assuming to speak with her supervisor and then let me know that they would pay for the diagnostic fee. She said a repair date for me for about a week and a half later. The repairman had a good day because the dishwasher was already disassembled for him and he proceeded to take pictures and call Maytag. Maytag told him that I was responsible for the installation cost and service fee which according to the technician is about a hundred bucks. I told the technician that is fine but it will not be fine when I call Maytag back. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher and associated damages. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars but I am only on this to let you know that every single one of us needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher in associated damages in small claims court. I plan on filing a claim for approximately $700 for a new dishwasher and damages. In my opinion, I feel like we should all do this, otherwise big corporations like this will continue to shovel garbage into the stores left and right.Have a good day and good luck with your court case hopefully. Purchased a Maytag dishwasher in 2009 then had it repaired for a leak in 2010 (just past the 12-month warranty); next another leak in Nov 2013 so purchased another Maytag as repair appliance company said it wasnt worth fixing. Now in Feb 2015 it is leaking Again! So 2 dishwashers and 1 repair in 5 years! Both were purchased from Home Depot. I will Never buy a Maytag product again.

I have the model with a smaller oven on top. I use it about 98% of the time so Im not wasting energy having to heat a larger oven space. I also like the fact that I can clean one oven. The larger oven is used when I cook turkeys. I can cook many dishes at a time, by using the smaller oven for dressing or cakes.

Maytag Bravos Model MVWB750wq1 - After only two years, the washing machine finally died. The machine was on a f51 code - hardly anything was in the washer. I also smelled a burning smell - well, that was the pump. The machine was not pumping water out. After the repairman came out, the contract company is saying they are not covering this because there was rust reported by the repairman. How can bearings inside a washing machine be rusted? This is a washing machine, isnt it? How are they building machines that deal with water and rust?! I will never buy another Maytag product - thats a promise. I spent over 2000.00 on this set. Never again.

The Maytag Centennial (Model MVWC6ESWW1) washer was purchased in September 2009 and within 18 months no longer provided water at the temperature selected on the control panel. The problem started after we used a spin setting to remove water from a cycle that did not complete itself. Somehow selecting a spin cycle disturbed the water temperature control mechanism. We were advised by Sears to unplug and then reattach the electrical connection (similar to rebooting a computer), but this was not successful in water being delivered to the washer at the temperature indicated on the control panel. While there was minor damage to clothing and a waste of hot water before we realized what was happening, the real inconvenience is not being able to rely on the water temperature setting. Based upon reading comments on the internet (including Consumer Reports) concerning this washer, the public should be warned not to purchase this machine. Better still the machine needs to be recalled in order to protect the consumer.

Dishwasher could do better with washing the dishes better and less recycling time. Also, it would be better if it had a self cleaning unit on it.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag!On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

Maytag Dryer model # MEDC400BW. I purchased this dryer in March 2015 the fuse went out in August. It is now November and it is out again! I have been buying Maytag since I left home at 18. I am 62 now, so I have been a loyal customer because Maytag was a great product. Not anymore since Whirlpool bought them out! You have to call them to schedule a technician and then it can take anywhere from 1 week to 3 depending on when they get the parts because they have to order them, and nobody else can come out to work on it if it is still under warranty! This is so lame and just not right.

I purchased a Maytag (as Maytag was always rated the Best) and from the start was not happy with the product. I contacted Maytag (Whirlpool, the makers of Maytag) and was told to get stains out, you had to pre-soak and scrub the area... really? Then I might as well just hand wash all of my clothes and hang to dry. I would not need a washer. My clothes do not come clean at all. DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG (or I think any washer Whirlpool makes as they do not back their products).Prior to this, I had a Whirlpool washer with agitator and loved the washer. Clothes were always clean, and I did not have to pre-soak stains for them to come clean. Go Figure! I have never been so disappointed in a washer or company. I am now looking to purchase a new washer as I have had it with this one... and it wont be a product made by Whirlpool.

Dishwasher MDB7749SBM - Have the same problem as everyone else, panel board (2nd one, 1st was under warranty). This panel W10475787 is 2 years old. Keeps lighting up doing what it wants to do. Dishwasher is 3 years old. Cant find out if there is a recall on this part (there should be).

I have a new HE (high efficiency) washer. It takes getting used to as its a definite change from the old agitating system but I think I like it. It doesnt make much in the way of suds but everything still comes out really clean. The wash cycle is much longer than my old washer but it uses a lot less water.

Oven failed after 2.5 years of normal use (1-2x / week). Apparently a relay failed (and burned out bake element). Contacted service & parts dept and learned that repair would cost $100 for service visit and $413 to replace the control board. Only the $80 bake element is covered by the limited warranty. Wonderful oven if your hobby is appliance repair. After 2.5 years, it now functions better as a toilet than an oven.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator about two years ago because of the Maytag quality hype. The ice maker has been leaking almost from day one and I need to clear out the ice from the bottom of the freezer every few weeks. Now the thing has quit cooling all together. I contacted the Maytag website and they recommended a local authorized repair firm. I took a day off work to meet the service provider. After checking the fridge they informed me that the problem was with the sealed system and that they could not work on it, and that I would need to contact Maytag to get a real Maytag repair person to come and fix the thing (right back where I started). They were however more than happy to charge me $70.00 for a service call. I tried the Maytag 1 800 number which was a nightmare and it finally hung up on me. I then went back to the website and managed to get a service appointment in two weeks (had to wait for a Saturday appointment because I cant afford to take another day off work). I just hope that this time it will actually be someone who can fix the thing and not charge me just to refer me back to Maytag again. I am not happy with the so called Maytag quality or their BS methods for providing service. Caveat Emptor if you are contemplating a Maytag appliance.

In July 2001 my husband and I purchased a 6-year old home. We are still here. We have replaced the refrigerator, oven and microwave - all in stainless steel. I am still waiting for the Maytag dishwasher to wear out. It has never been repaired because it has never broken down. Cleans dishes and silverware great.

I purchase my Maytag electric glass top stove 9 years ago. 2 years ago, one of the burners went out and had to be replaced. Now, in the past 2 days, my oven is taking FOREVER to preheat from 0 to 455 degrees. So far, its been 78 minutes waiting for it to go from 0 degrees to 425! Apparently the heating element is defective. As far as the self cleaning oven, it is absolutely worthless, and does NOT work! Needless to say that Im very disappointed, and looking at another repair expense!

The washer machine is only 2 years old and its broke, at first it wouldnt spin and now it wont wash. Everyone is saying between the parts and service fee, it will cost 200 to 300 dollars or more to fix, most technicians wont repair them because they say that we may as well cut our loss and just buy a new one. No one likes these machines. I wish I would have known what a sham the washer machines were before purchasing.

Called about our upteenth issue with our Maytag microwave. Was told the part was covered but we would have to pay for service. The last tech told us how to wiggle the part to make it work. Paid a fortune and it broke again. They do not care about customers!!

Echoing the sentiments of others on this site, I am deeply disappointed in Maytag brand appliances manufactured by the Whirlpool Corp. When, for the first time in my life, I was able to buy all brand new kitchen appliances, I didnt even consider any other brand but Maytag. This was based on many decades of using Maytag products and watching my mother use them. I come from a big family so our appliances got used hard, and the Maytag brand ones worked year after year, decade after decade with little or no maintenance. To put it quite frankly, my new Maytag products are junk. I could supply a whole laundry list of problems but, in the interest of space, will just tell about the latest. A couple of weeks ago the fake tin foil paint on my oven and burner knobs just started falling off, revealing cheap plastic underneath. When I called Maytag to complain, I was asked how I clean the knobs. I told them that when I clean the stove front I remove the knobs and drop them in warm water with a couple drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid for the few minutes it takes to clean and polish the stove front, and that I had been using this same procedure for 2 years. The rep. hemmed and hawed awhile and then went away to consult her database. When she returned she told me that one is not allowed to soak the knobs per the manual, and therefore she could not offer any help. She then generously offered to transfer me to the parts department, where the rep. informed me that replacements would cost $70 EACH, thats a total of $350 plus shipping for 5 cheap plastic knobs. WOW! What a deal! I tell everyone I meet NOT to buy any Maytag branded product, and to apply extreme skepticism before considering any Whirlpool product. (BTW - the last certified Maytag appliance repairman to come & fix one of the appliances essentially admitted they are junk.) Model #: MGR8775AS SN: R32810432.

I use a late model Maytag front loader. It does a great job cleaning and uses very little soap and water. To date I have NOT had to call the repairman to work on it. All in all I am VERY satisfied.

Maytag top loader washing machine - Worst appliance purchase ever made. Does not clean laundry, takes all day to do 5 or 6 loads. Not enough water to properly wash or rinse load, even using the deep water setting (a joke). A load of 2 king size sheets and 4 pillow cases wadded up in a ball and rattled around so hard in the spin cycle, it pulled the plug out of the wall. Maytag sent out technician who conducted diagnostic testing, which did not include any actual laundry. Technician said machine was operating as intended and verified I was using the machine properly. I have tried to return this machine since the first load was done and realized it was a disaster. Maytag refused to help. In fact, their phone agent had the audacity to suggest I wash one sheet at a time to prevent the machine from moving across the floor so far the plug came out of the wall. Maytag surely is not what it used to be. Im sorry I did not know they, like so many other companies, dont care about their reputation or customer service, not to mention producing a quality product. I would say they are actually misleading their customers by calling this product a washing machine.

Product: Maytag MFI2665XEM Ice2O 25.5. Bought this refrigerator on Feb. 2013 at Home Depot. Maytag cannot repair the heat exchanger as it is a discontinued model. Our only option: Purchase another comparable current model refrigerator with a full price of $2,199.00. It will be sold to us for a discount price of $1,308.00 with free delivery. NJ tax and installation not included. This is a two year old refrigerator with orig over $2000. We had requested for a repair since August 2015. We had spoiled food expenses and rented a temporary refrigerator. Numerous attempts to repair and order the parts to no avail. The excuse is either they ordered the wrong part and eventually was told its been discontinued. Our warranty was automatically canceled. We have spent numerous hours with the Maytag customer service and was given a promise to find the part overseas as well to get the appliance fixed. Finally, this morning of November 2, 2015, we were given the final Im sorry and this is all we can offer you, to buy another refrigerator from us. It appears that this is a defective model but we have not received any recall letters or warning about it. This needs to be addressed as this is an unacceptable practice and deceiving to the consumers, and certainly unfair for people like us who work very hard to pay for this appliances. We cannot afford another $1500 refrigerator. We are now stuck with this worthless, stainless steel junk in our kitchen.

This refrigerator has been my worst nightmare come true. Everything existent freezes: salads, tomatoes, berries, cherries, milk, water, etc. Never again will I purchase a Maytag product. Service is non-existent.

This machine was in best machines of 2019/2020. It has many features. Ive had one day and have multiple concerns, I will be returning the machine. The dryer isnt great either. Had multiple loads not dry. On the washer, there is no interior light so you cant actually see items in washer to judge soap etc. Has a soap disp that is supposed to hold multiple loads, says 8. Ive washed over 8 and the out of soap alert hasnt come on as youd expect, but when I check the dispenser is full of water so who knows! Cant see inside so I have so way of knowing if there is soap that is still going in, should I add more or what? The alert bell is too quiet, cant hear outside of the laundry room. Multiple loads have not spun out well, leaving standing water and clothes too wet for dryer. Ive had to run a drain/spin cycle to get clothes spun out. It is supposed to connect to wifi but that hasnt been successful, plus, not everyone keeps a phone on them 24/4! Need a louder alert. I washed a sm item that threw it off balance. My LG washed a small floor mat with no issues. I do a significant amt of research before a LG purchase and I feel I was lead astray. I am not happy with this washer or dryer. I wanted to buy American made but this is not up to the standard I expected from Maytag.

Maytag has always been my choice with appliances. Ive purchased others and always dissatisfied. This dishwasher has been a trooper and lasted forever. Its been overworked with 4+ children and yet still going strong. I recommend Maytag????

Purchased side-by-side with bottom freezer 2009 after Hurricane Ike. Fridge has stopped cooling. Called Maytag Customer Center and was told nothing can be done only to find theres a 10 year warranty on the compressor. This malfunction should not be an issue after 8 years. My GE fridge still works after 25+ years. Horrible!

Maytag Bravo Washer - I recently purchase a fairly expensive washer built by Maytag. In my opinion it is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Again in my opinion their advertising about being such a reliable company should be considered false advertising, and near criminal. If you had a lower rating I would use it. Absolutely you should never use the word Bravo in a description of this washer. I will never purchase a Maytag appliance again. Check the internet for reviews before you purchase. I had just came out of surgery and in a wheelchair and trying to move back home and didnt do my homework.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher mdb7749sbm1 in 2014 and have had nothing but problems with it since it was delivered. Within a year of owning it, the top jet fell off. We had it replaced and the repairman warned us that it would probably come off again due to a faulty latching system. In the last six months one of the brackets that holds the upper shelf has broken off and the dishwasher leaks every time we use it.My last cycle leaked so bad that essentially it completely soaked the extra large bath towel we place in front of it and travelled halfway through my kitchen. Not to mention that it never washed dishes well, regardless of what cycle we use, which/how little or much detergent/rinse agent and it does not filter at all, as theres debris all over my dishes and glasses. I am now looking to replace it before like other reviewers a control panel fire occurs. Strongly recommend staying away from this brand.

The refrigerator works well. No problems. Easy to move to clean behind it. Good value. I havent had any problems since I bought it. Keeps a steady temp; Its exactly the size I needed; has plenty of space. Its a plain fridge with a reasonable price!

I bought this machine a year and a half ago. The entire drum and spin motor need to be replaced. Maytags warranty only lasted 1 year. I bought it at Home Depot, and also purchased the extended 5 year warranty. The extended warranty is as bad as the washing machine. I am now just 2 days shy of 4 weeks of trying to deal with both parties. Ive had to take my laundry in to have it done. The cost of the laundry, the cost of the machine, and the cost of the warranty is more than $200 more than what Home Depots Extended Protection Plan is willing to reimburse/refund. Home Depot does as much as Maytag when it comes to standing behind what they sell. An $800 washing machine only good for 18 months, really???

The ice maker in my Maytag French door refrigerator quit working 11 months after purchase. It was replaced under warranty, but again quit working 12 months later. That one was replaced at my cost, and lasted another year. It was again replaced at my expense and that lasted two years. I am now back to the dark ages of filling ice cube trays. I have been reading reviews, and find I am not the only one who has had problems. My letter to customer service was responded with a sorry about your luck letter. I would never purchase another Maytag appliance.

We bought all new appliances for our remodel. I wish I could return this dishwasher. It has a problem with the door staying closed. I added images of how we are able to make it work. A service person is coming by tomorrow to put a new latch on it (I read several reviews saying the latch is messed up). So I made sure the service person is coming with the part. I called Home Depot when the problem started (used for up to 5 washes or so). And Home Depot wont return it! I called Maytag and they tried selling me an extended warranty and I asked what about the 10 year warranty the machine is supposed to come with? I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL at the end of June 2013 because my washer of 14 years finally quit. On the 2nd load of laundry I ran, the machine began making a terrible grinding noise. It sounds as if I am washing a load of rocks while its on the wash cycle. I immediately called the local store I purchased it from and they sent a technician out to look at the machine. He couldnt figure out why it was making this noise, so he called Maytags techs for assistance. They had him run a battery of tests and they finally determined they needed to replace the motor. Are you kidding me? On a brand new machine?! Now Im thinking I have a lemon for sure. They replaced the motor and the machine continues to make the same noise. Ive called Maytags Customer Service to let them know about the garbage theyre producing and all I got was attitude. The warranty only covers parts and does not replace machines, so Im stuck in the song and dance of lets try to figure this out and see how they can make this piece of junk work. I then asked to speak to a manager. She offered me a 6 month extended warranty for free. I guess thats a big sign that Im going to need it since what they are producing is garbage. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? Its now just the too bad attitude. Now, I feel like Im being held hostage by my machine because I have to take time off of work for appointments with service technicians. Wheres Maytags compensation for my time and the hassle of having to deal with this? I paid $1000 for something and I guess its too much to ask for it to actually work. I am all for buying American (the machine had a sticker, proudly made in Ohio) but if this is the quality of work that they are producing they should be embarrassed to work for this company. Great dishwasher. The dishwasher heat cycle doesnt dry the dishes but I havent read the instructions yet. This is a large dishwasher holding lots of dishes. Dishes are clean after the cycle. Washes lots of dishes at the same time. Has handy utensil pull out to put away your utensils after dry.

Purchased my Maytag range/oven 14 years ago and it still works to this day. I had to replace both oven heating elements. I am a do it yourselfer, took me less than 5min to replace both. The cook top is easy to clean. As long as you take care of it, it should last you a long time.

We purchased a washing machine, top loading washer model MVWC415EW1 on 9/2/2015 and the machine did not work right. 11/2/2015 is stopped working all together. It will not wash the clothes. The repair man says we need a new cold water valve. Maytag says it does not have the part to fix the machine. Period. Now we have a new machine with a 10 year warranty which does us no good as Maytag does not have the parts to fix. So it is back to a laundry mat until we can save enough to buy a new machine from anyone but Maytag .

I bought a Maytag Bravo washer and dryer 18 months ago. While taking clothes out of my washer, I noticed that the plastic collar above the washtub was shredding around the edges. I called the manufacturer about it. Because it was more than 12 months old, they refused to do anything about it. I feel that shouldnt happen so soon after purchase. Im a single person and dont do that much laundry. The piece should be made of something more durable. I will never buy another Maytag product. Is there anything further I can do to pursue this?

CHRISTMAS morning Set oven to 325 for ham. Control board caught fire and burnt wires and burnt inside of rear cover. It got hot enough to char the wood wall behind stove. This could have killed my family on CHRISTMAS.

Purchased this unit back in November 2011. Sometime this year it started leaking water just like many others from the freezer unit onto the floor (many times large puddles). Im tired of the permanent towel on the floor to absorb the water to prevent a potential slipping hazard. I too went online and found a very nice video on youtube which showed how to disassemble the freezer compartment. Took everything apart and noticed that there was water frozen on the supply line. Melted this and put everything back together, for about a week there was no water leaking so I figured all was well. About a week later the puddle was back so I sent an inquiry to Maytag and let them know I had an image of the issue and asked if it was covered through manufacture warranty. So I watched another video by the same guy on youtube that showed how to replace the P Trap. I went online and found the replacement P Trap Manufacturer model # w10619951. One of the comments there actually said to call Maytag first as they were able to get a replacement P Trap for free. I believe if it was under a year old they would also pay for the labor to have it replaced. So this morning I called Maytag, the first guy Jim said I would have to have a certified Tech come out (76 dollar service fee, plus whatever the labor would cost) and Maytag would cover the cost of the part. I asked Jim if he could just send me the part and Ill do it myself, he reassured me that he could NOT do this and that the system was very specific. I told him I did not understand that a bad design and known quality defect, why should I have to pay several hundred dollars to fix? He told me that was the way it is. I asked to speak to his supervisor and put me on hold. Not only was the hold music extremely obnoxious but there was a loud humming noise as well, I waited for 10 minutes hung up and called back. I spoke with Maggie this time. I told her I wanted the part sent to me and if she couldnt help me I wanted to speak to a manager. She said she did not have the authority to ship me the part without approval. She said she could ask for approval and after waiting for about 3 minutes she came back on the line and said she spoke with her supervisor and that they would be sending me the replacement P trap today via FedEx. Had they not sent me the part my next stop was going to be the better business bureau..

We bought this Maytag dishwasher two years ago with a two year warranty. We paid close to $700. Six months after we bought it, it started having problems on and off. They are including: leaking water, lights going on and off, cycles are not completed. We changed the console once, and soon after that it broke down again, and this time is out of warranty. Total repair times are: 6 times in two years. My husband call the company, asked them if there is a recall for this model? They told that there is no recall. Then the repair person came. According to his repair experience he said this is the common problem and he got a lot of calls for the same problem. If he told the truth about this, then the company was lying to its consumers!!

Purchased from Lowes October 2014, paid $680.00. Now needs $600.00 in repairs for new springs and basket rim according to a Maytag appliance repairman.Washer is leaking in the front left. Lets be real and say that people with good experiences dont often end up on websites writing reviews because they are busy enjoying their product! I purchased my set in early 2012 and will admit that initially there was a learning curve with using a washer with no agitator. I enjoy doing laundry and Im really good at it but with this washer I had to change my routine. Always pretreat stains. Deposit clothes loosely around the drum and shake clothes loose before putting them in the dryer. My clothes come out great! I have a child, two dogs and a greasy truck driver man and everyones clothes smell great. I can wash my king bedspread and anything else in my house with no issues. And my washer has never torn any of my clothing, however fragile. I dont iron often and I hand wash nothing.I give 4 stars instead of five for the extra steps to ensure my clothes are clean and wrinkle free. No they dont make things like they used to but thats with all the new stuff. My moms 3000 dollar Samsung set (her washer) isnt working as I write this. Too bad more people with good experiences dont get online and share. Hope this has been helpful.

After seeing all the bad reviews about Maytag I decided to write my review, we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 1990 when moving into our new home, and we still have the same set. Now it does not have a motherboard which I feel today is the major problem with most appliances. Get away from the motherboards. Turn the machine on and off when its supposed to, or let it run its Cycles. Dont overfill, because this causes wearing motor parts. The dryer belt wore out on the dryer but that was an easy replacement. Im a woman of 64 and get it myself. Maytag I hope that you get back to the plain ol simple washer and dryer because mine is probably going to wear out which I hope not but I would so love to get the same set I got now.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos HE top load washing machine from Sears in 2011. In January 2015, the machine stops at the spin cycle and wont continue the full process. The lid light comes on and blinks red. The machine made a loud grinding noise. A technician from Sears has been to my home 4 times in a month but unable to fix the problem. I have to take my clothes to the outside laundry. I have a protection warranty but it ends in a week. Im frustrated. Maytag Bravos sucks.

I bought a high capacity Maytag Bravos washing machine, thinking it would be better than the ones that shred your clothes around the center post. Wrong. You still have to wrap your clothes around the edges as if there were a post, and even then the machine will become unbalanced (after much thumping and crashing), causing it to stop, which forces you to redistribute the weight, sometimes several times in one load of wash! I called the company and got nowhere -- I wont say nowhere fast because it took forever to get nowhere. I do not recommend this machine.

I have a bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator that is about 4 years old. It started leaking and continued to get worse fast... It appears that the gasket around the freezer drawer does not seal about half way up. It causes a sheet of ice inside the freezer, so I am not sure if it leaks due to the ice defrosting. The refrigerator doors do not seem as if they shut tight either. After reading many of these comments about Maytag refrigerators, I am not sure at this point if it might be better to buy a new one rather than fix this one??? I looked for a recall and do not see one. Clearly this is a defective appliance.

The right front heating element works at the high position only. The over doors viewing glass is too fragile. It shattered while positioning the range. Otherwise, there are no other issues with electric range.

We purchased a Maytag washer model MVWC400XWO almost 2 years ago and it has problems with the bearings and the whole computer board is defective. I was told to buy the extended warranty for $350, which we did. As of today, we were told by extended warranty they are refunding our money because there are so many things wrong with this washer, including the whole computer board, that it would cost them too much to fix or replace it. Im in complete shock. We paid well over $500 and are still making payments on it. Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB7759SAW3 continues the Whirlpool company legacy of subpar control panels in all of their dishwashers. It is telling that they have been allowed to market the exact same failing parts for well over a decade without any accountability. They had one recall circa 2007-2010 and pushed customers into purchasing the model I have which suffers from the exact same control panel design.To further frustrate the consumer experience, Maytag customer service reps and supervisors allege that they have never heard of a customer having issues with their dishwasher control panel before. The panel beeps endlessly and refuses user input regardless of whether the door is opened or closed. After a power disconnect it will reset and sometimes allow one load to be washed before resuming the non stop beeping. If opened and closed during the beeping it will cycle through a completely new wash cycle on its own and resume beeping. Maytag customer service response this morning was, “thank you for being a Maytag customer”.We will my be purchasing their replacement control panels as they are of poor quality and it is well documented that the new ones fail annually as well. These are “high end” appliances and are not inexpensive. We will simply cease to use whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Kitchenaid, etc. brands in our home and will advise everyone we know to protect themselves the same way.

We purchased a Maytag MFI2670XEW6 french door/Bottom freezer refrigerator in July of 2012 through Home Depot and for the past 6 months have had to scrape ice off the bottom of freezer every 5 days or so to prevent water flowing on floor. Problem with the front panel are the dishwasher has been replaced 2 times in 3 months. Was told by the tech repair person is not a well made product. He would replace it if he could had a warranty and added a new warranty for 1 year and is up again and of course have to do it. Was told if it happens again they most likely replace with a new unit. I have a Maytag purchased about a year ago. My old Maytag lasted 16 years. The salesman told us that they are now built to last 8 years. It’s pretty noisy, so much so that I have to close the door to the utility room. I guess it gets the clothes clean but it used very little water. Fortunately my model has an agitator but nothing like the old kind. After looking at many models, I feel this was the best choice for the value. It is top loading which I like.

We had a Whirlpool stove/oven for many years, and it was finally time to trade it in. Everything about that unit was good. While shopping for another Whirlpool, the sales rep told us that Maytag and Whirlpool are one and the same. That we found, is false. An important feature for us in an appliance is the self cleaning oven. The Maytag oven had to be leveled four times after it was installed, in order for the self clean feature to function. The self clean part is only a small indented portion of the bottom of the oven, not the entire oven. And even that does not clean. After going through the dealership service about this problem, I contacted Maytag. My final frustrated summary to the rep was that I understand that we bought a lemon, and you are not going to help us in any way. I just want to say to anyone considering a Maytag stove and oven, raise your standard. If you choose Maytag, you will only be disappointed. I am.

It leaves white stuff all over everything. You have to rewash or rinse black clothes at least twice. We have to clean the washer frequently or the clothes smell like mildew. I chose Maytag because I thought they were the best. Apparently, I was wrong and it was a mistake buying this.

I bought the Maytag stainless steel refrigerator with the top double doors and bottom freezer. I paid $3000 for this thing and the ice maker has broken twice, an ice sheet forms on the bottom of the freezer and the drawers broke due to being cheaply made with plastic. Maytag washing machine is the loudest machine Ive ever heard. It doesnt wash the clothes well leaves spots. We had a new barrel put in and it still walks across the floor. The water level doesnt come up high enough, makes grinding noises and it takes forever for the wash to be done. How can you say its an energy saver if it goes on for an hour or so. Very dissatisfied and pissed off.

They are coming for the 7th time to fix the ice maker. Three full replacements. The bottom of the freezer had a buildup of ice, another call to repair. I know where the Maytag repairman is, hes at my house.

This machine sucks. Im down to washing three to four items only on an extra capacity machine because every single load becomes unbalanced. Feeling the weight of each item and then placing it correctly doesnt work. Repairman came out. Said it was balanced. Lie. At this point I want to take a sledgehammer to it and send the pieces one by one to Maytag. They should be embarrassed to even have this product for sale to the public with their name on it.

Dryer needed to be serviced within 2 months. Drum seal fell out. Service was no questions asked. Fixed promptly. Washer works fabulous. Gets clothes clean. Surprisingly quiet. You do need to keep up to the sensors on the dryer. Must be wiped with rubbing alcohol to keep performance.

We bought this washer in February of 2010. We had the pump replaced under warranty in January of 2011, and the pump appeared to have a hole in it from some type of hard object that had gotten inside the pump and damaged it. We then replaced the L-shaped hose between the tank and the pump because it had a small hole in it - very thin rubber. Last week, the washer was leaking again and the service technician said that the pump housing was cracked due to a penny rattling around inside the pump.This washer performs very well when it is working but it seems to be too fragile to handle on normal usage. The Whirlpool washer we replaced with this one ran for 23 years with no problems before it finally went out. From all appearances, it seems that every failure we have had with this washer has been due to damage from foreign objects getting trapped in the pump. Is there no screening mechanism to prevent hard objects from entering the pump? This seems to be a design flaw more than anything.

Had it for over ten years, had no problems. We dont use the oven too often but it is simple to operate and has served us well. Easy to clean, stainless steel like looks on the front goes well with our other appliances. Reasonably priced too.

I bought a Neptune washer and a dryer. I have had nothing but problems with these items since I got them. My washer keeps giving me a 3e code and will not clean the laundry right. I have used the H E detergent it requires and yet my clothes stink. My laundry smells like mold and mildew. I now dont have my units to wash and dry clothes. I paid almost $4,000.00 for the pair. I dont have the money now to replace them.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher May 2019 Model# MDB4949SDE3 Serial# F80446835. It has to be one of the worst purchases I have made in a long time. In fact, I wish I could return it and start over with another brand. My glasses come out of the cycle with film and silverware is spotted. I have tried everything from scrubbing and rinsing before I put into the dishwasher, every product on the market, making sure my hot water heater is on high to settings for the longest most powerful cycle and it still continues to disappoint. Discovered that thousands of others are having problems with the control panel on their dishwasher. Mine is Model # MDB7749SBM2. Looks as if I should just junk this horrible product and buy a new one (another brand, of course). My biggest concern is that I purchased other Maytag products along with this dishwasher, ie, a refrigerator-freezer, a built-in stove top/oven and a microwave. I have had a service call on the fridge (water line), the oven (gas) will indicate a set temperature (400 degrees for example) sometimes it will only be abt 200 degrees via a portable thermometer... Sometimes it doesnt ignite at all (have to reset it 3 or 4 times, the microwave has issues with the digital readouts, and on and on and on.I have only had these appliances about two years (after warranty expired) when each unit started exhibiting problems. I paid $175 for the fridge repair and am now considering biting the bullet & replacing everything as MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL apparently isnt going to take responsibility for any defect on ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS! Im 75 years of age, retired and cannot afford the replacement route but it looks like I dont have a choice unless someone has a better suggestion. I dont have the skills or energy to attempt the repairs myself.

I tried to open the door to put clothes in the dryer and got severely shocked by 220 volts. The dryer is only a couple of weeks old. The power cord wasnt crimped and it fell out of the diggings and electrified the entire dryer. I guess we were lucky it didnt burn our house down. I took pictures then I fixed it myself.

My stainless steel french door refrigerator started to rust 4-5 months after purchase. Upon contacting Maytag/Whirlpool I was advised that this is cosmetic and the cosmetic portion of my warranty is expired. I think this is a poor grade of stainless steel and should be recalled and/or replaced. I would not recommend.

After a year, the plastic parts of Maytag dishwasher is breaking and upstairs propeller is no longer running. Do not buy this product. I made that mistake.

My Maytag refrigerator is less than 5 years old; the compressor went out (only warrantied for 1 year, 5 years used to be the minimum). I contacted the company who now owns Maytag, I believe Whirlpool. They told me they can fix it, no matter what the problem is, for $380.00. It turns out they sold me an extended warranty, but that was never explained in the conversation. Prior to contacting them, I had Sears out to fix it; they are the ones that told me it was the compressor. 1 week after buying the extended warranty, the repair company came out to fix it and found out the refrigerator was unplugged and informed me it needed to be plugged in for 24 hours in order for him to determine what was wrong with it. I scheduled an appointment 1 week later. When they came back, they said it was the compressor, and they needed to order the parts. 1 week later, they came back, and the compressor they came with did not work. 3 weeks now, no refrigerator. They said they would put a rush on the order, haha. Now, I have to wait another 8 days for them to come out to repair. 4 weeks without a refrigerator? I think there is some type of implied warranty when you purchase large appliances; these companies are getting away with murder. Are refrigerators now disposable commodities? Cheaper to buy new ones than repair the new ones? What will happen to our landfills?

I purchased a brand new MHWE450WW01 Washer and MGDE500VW2 Dryer in February. The dryer takes forever to dry something; seriously, 3 hours for jeans! The washer sounded more like a jet engine taking off. I called Brothers Main, they sent a service person who identified right away that it was a known problem and he had over 6 repairs already, but be prepared to wait up to 3 months for the replacement parts. This is ridiculous. The service center, you can never get through to them and when you do, they dont seem to care. I had a 10-year old washer that made less noise than this brand new one that I spent $1800 for.

We bought a Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBH979AWS3) in January 2010. In April 2012, the control panel stopped working. A local repairman came out to see it for $160, diagnosed it, and suggested that we call Maytag to see if they would give us the part because it was only a two-year old machine. He did say that the control panel was not a part that was troublesome!Maytag offered an extended warranty for only $287 that would cover the part! The total repair cost was almost equal to the cost of a new machine. Home Depot, when consulted, acted as if they know nothing. After reading about other peoples experiences with this company, I feel that it is no longer an honorable company standing behind its products. In fact, the whole repair process is set up to rip off the consumer.We will now look to purchase the best and cheapest non-Maytag product, not from Home Depot, and throw it away when it gives out, which more than likely will be soon. These companies have finally convinced me to do what I am sure what they have always wanted every consumer to do. Throw it away when it breaks down.

These machines have lots of service problems, although Im not familiar with the newer models. The function and the features are adequate, and typical. And overall, again, I have no complaints other than shortly after purchasing, there was a circuit board recall for these machines, and fortunately, I had a repairman who knew of the issue, and guided me to a cost free fix. Overall, it has served the purpose well of cleaning my clothes in a decent fashion.

Machine is very loud. Clothes do not feel completely clean when wash cycle has finished. I have a sense that not all soap has been removed. Dark clothes have streaks of white residue. Must turn clothes inside out before washing. Very disappointed.

I am so sorry to see so many people having the same problem. Maytag Dishwasher Model #MDB7749AWM2 purchased 12-10-11. Control Panel needs replaced (260.00...service call, part and labor). Writing this as Ive spent the last 20 mins on hold with Maytag. Im demanding them to make this right. Ive been told by Trisha at Maytag not to believe all these post as people tend to exaggerate the problems. Anybody have info on class action lawsuit? ?

I purchased a MTW6600TB0 Washer and Dryer on 6/17/07. I have had issues with the washer from the beginning; smell in towels and mechanical problems as well. The machine does not fill properly and receive error codes that are electrical issues per A & E service. I get LF errors occasionally and randomly on different cycles. I finally called for service because I now am receiving F51 Error, which has to do with the basket per A & E service technician. I was told on Black Friday that my machine required both baskets and the rotary motor. My machine is just 4/5 years old. No unusual wear and tear. There are only three people in my family and we live in a fairly warm climate so no heavy winter clothing, etc. I was told that my stainless steel basket was rusting to my plastic basket. I am still trying to comprehend the fact that two materials that are not supposed to rust are rusting. After looking for a new washer over Thanksgiving weekend, I find out that Maytag warranties their stainless steel basket and rotary motors for 10 years. So do they warranty the things they say the warranty or not? Of course, it is a holiday weekend and I cannot get a hold of Maytag. I paid for a service call and the technician told me I would be responsible for the repairs at about $500 for parts plus labor. I looked up the parts he recommended replacing and it was over $800. I paid $1000 for this machine less than 5 years ago. Thats $200 a year for the privilege to use a Maytag. Additionally, my set is black. I can not find a black washer anywhere.

The stove functions are excellent and the temperature of the burners and oven causes the food to cook even. However after about 6 months the heat from the burners causes the coating on the stovetop to burn like its baking and it cant be cleaned. Now the coating around the burners is horrible and burnt.
