This dryer ripped a gaping hole with sharp shards of metal exposed. It was working fine, and then it made a weird noise. It stopped and I assumed my laundry was done. We go to remove clothing and cut hand open on exposed metal. As if that wasnt bad enough, several hundreds of dollars in clothing had cuts in them. This dryer worked great for years, and out of the blue this happened. Im a widowed disabled mother, and cant afford a new dryer.

Just passed warranty period and Maytag dishwasher broke. It would not start. Called and was allowed to purchase extended warranty for $135.00. A new panel was shipped and dishwasher lasted just under one more year with same issue. Another extended warranty was offered for $199.00. Needless to say we are buying a new dishwasher and not a Maytag or Whirlpool. The panels are notorious for rusting out. Hmmm moisture of a dishwasher and parts easily corrode.

I wish I had never bought a Maytag refrigerator! Nothing but problems. The ice maker does not work, water leaked 3 times onto our wood floor. Finally, I disconnected the control panel so I have an ice/water dispenser that is useless just like the refrigerator. I dont think the Maytag man is sitting around from lack of work, maybe laziness. Dont buy a Maytag.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher 2011! Use it 2 weeks, digital board went down had it replaced! Now 2013, the board is down as well as the motor!! Can you imagine I use it once a day, at most 2 people in this house, and it completely breaks down! Thank goodness I have a Home Depot warranty. I would strongly advise against this product that I spent over $500 for 2 years ago!! How they could sell this dishwasher is a mystery.

I purchased this oven about 6 months ago. This is my second Maytag oven which I had for 18 years. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this oven. I did my homework and shopped around and chose another Maytag. First, the ignitor clicks and clicks but doesnt ignite. After 4-5 times I have to shut the oven off and restart it. But worse than that is the enamel on top. The quality is HORRIBLE. You cannot use anything but a soapy sponge to clean the top. With my last oven I was able to use anything (softscrub, ajax, the scrubber side of a sponge) and the top was shiny clean. My stove top is covered with scratches and is not even thoroughly clean. There are grease spots around the burners that if I scrub any harder Ill take the enamel off completely. Very, very poor quality. Will never buy another Maytag.

I have had it since 2011 and still works as good as it did back then. I love it. Hope it helps people decide when they go shopping for a dryer. I have a dog so I have to keep her clean so I wash a lot of her bedding and she sheds a lot. She also sleeps on the with me so that other bedding that I put for her on my bed between her clothes and mine which I do separate. The dryer works a lot and it is still going strong.

I chose Maytag because they received a good rating from Consumer Reports. I liked that they were for extra large loads however now that Ive had them for 12 years I know the large loads are no more than my old Kenmore washer and dryer. The real deal breaker for me is the size of load that you can actually wash. I was hoping I would be able to wash a blanket without worrying about the washer going off balance. My washer and dryer are Maytag although I dont know the model number. They are full size but the extra large load is not extra large. The knob on my washer broke and Maytag wanted $15 for a plastic knob! I found it on eBay for $3. The washer goes off balance too easily.

Purchased an Admiral Washer on 07/19/2010 from Home Depot in May of 2011 was washing clothes and washer flooded my wash room. Cold water would not turn off. Had to use shutoff valve on wall. Called for service through Maytags toll free number it took me 10 days to get through, then I was told that they did not have anyone in my area that could fix my washer that was still under warranty and there was nothing they could do. I called Home Depot and they said there was nothing they could do it was the manufactor problem.I Called several appliance repair places that advertise as maytag repair and they would not touch it!Called back in July of 2011 could not reach anyone at maytag service. My warranty expired 07/19/2011,yesterday 08/08/2011 I recieved a letter from Maytag wanting me to buy an extended warranty.I called an ask them why I should buy an extended warranty when they wouldnt even honor the original warranty they pulled up the records where I had called for service and told me I should have kept calling back that they take care of their customers etc. etc. but there was nothing they could do now because the washer was out of warranty.I called about a new water valve for this washer $56 for part $100 for labor including service call. Now I faced with a decision try to repair this piece of junk or scrap it a buy a new washer( not a Maytag or a Whirlpool) I am not rich I am elderly and live on a fixed income, it took me 6 months to pay off this washer at Home Depot!!!!!

This Maytag (1979 model) is about as good as other dishwashers (I always rinse before placing in machine). It does have a lot more buttons that are not used than the last one I used (installed in the 1950s). Delayed start, choice of preheating water or not, choice of drying. Not big enough to do everything when have company and too big to use when no visitors present. When I am alone it takes 3 months to get enough to fill the machine and by that time they are getting moldy so most of the time I wash by hand. Black glass front with imposing row of controls across the top. I normally do not generate enough dirty dishes to warrant having a dishwasher. Since my wife died I have used the dishwasher two to three times a year.

Within the first month of purchasing my front loading Maytag Neptune washer
Within the first month of purchasing my front loading Maytag Neptune washer (MAH6700AWW) at Home Depot, the soap dispenser fell off. The machine not only leaked, requiring stack of towels to be placed on the floor to keep the room from flooding, but often produced foul-smelling clothes, despite cleaning the machine. On top of that, the delicate cycle stopped working and then last month, the entire control board went! It is past its warranty period, and I cannot afford a new washer for my family of 6. The machine has been discontinued and the parts unattainable. The control board of our dryer (MDE6700AYW) went too, causing buzzing in the electrical connection and burning, causing us to have to shut down the circuits for the machine. Maytag has lost all my respect as a quality appliance supplier. We spent $1700 on the set and the machines have been a nightmare. Please note: we were NOT notified that there were class action suits against Maytag regarding their machines.

Having issues with my mothers refrigerator, simple enough huh? She had misplaced my owners manual. NOW you buy the fridge, but like everything else, once they get your money youre basically on your own! I call to have a owners manual sent to her, she doesnt interact with the internet. I mean, there are still your older ones that doesnt even get on a computer. BUT I was told I couldnt get one! But when I bought it, I had one. Instead, I think its ridiculous how once, like any other major company, they get your money, and threw to the wind after that, something as simply as getting an owners manual for my fridge!!!! Almost two years after purchasing the Maytag Bravo XL, I am fed up. I have the exact same problems as everyone else in these reviews. Soap scum left on dark clothes since day 1. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I have read and re-read the manual especially the troubleshooting guide and still have the same thing happen. Its very frustrating. I constantly have to re-rinse clothes because of soap, lint, dirt, etc left on clothes. I wouldnt give away this washer to anyone, I would rather burn it. I am currently looking for a new washer, the last one I had for 11 years was a front loading Whirlpool. I should have stuck with a Whirlpool, I still have the matching dryer no problems at all.

I have had this washer 4 years...I bought this washer in May 2016. It makes 3 very loud noise as it moves into its next mode/cycle. Found out this is normal. IF, it is close to your living room, IT is loud.. I called again, saw that it was not filling up. 1/5/2017.. IT will NOT fill up to wash my clothes properly, clothes were still dry!!! Came out, (they sent a company near my area), said everything is right. I have tried, by sending messages, many times to get them to check. No one seems to care. The machine allows water to go out the bottom, rather than fill in the machine. I watched it myself. THERE should be a recall on this machine, definitely, something is sooo wrong.. I NOW have to put it on BULKY SHEETS full time, to get my wash clean.. NO energy savings there... BUT my clothes are finally clean!! Seriously, something is wrong...

My dog had to be on a special diet to recover from a stomach disorder. I placed 1/3 cup of dog food plus chicken broth and baby food in a bowl. I intended to heat it for seconds. Minutes later, my dog was whining and sneezing. I immediately returned to the kitchen to find the food and bowl were completely charred. The biggest problem however was from the plastic splash guard that melted down. Smoke filled my home. I had to call the fire department. I was coughing and had difficulty breathing. The smell was horrible! The insurance company and I have had thousands of money in restoration cost due to the damage. I was out of my house for weeks and got very sick due to returning to the home that was not remediated properly (allergies and asthma). The microwave was an over the range Maytag MMV4205BA. I would like to find out if the fire was due to a malfunction in the microwave oven. If so, Maytag should be paying for the damages. I still need living room furniture and carpeting replaced due to smoke damage.

Purchased my Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749SBM on 5/13. 3 weeks ago the panel went out! I found others have had the same complaint on their Maytag Dishwashers too! I also learned this model was discontinued from Home Depot. Is this because Maytag knows this Dishwasher was JUNK and that they allowed consumers to buy this model knowing it had these problems - I believe so! I find it absolutely crazy that Maytag has not issued a RECALL and now I am out almost $700 plus if I get it fixed or buy a new one, I am out even more $$! There has to be some RESPONSIBILITY taken from Maytag!!! By October 3, an announcement that part came in, to make an appointment. By now, its been a month and a half, I am so angry. So our 4 year old Maytag Dishwasher just took a crap. Thank God we were at the kitchen table when it started to smoke, which smelt like burning wires and unplugged it immediately. Repairman came out and said it would be a 3 to 4 hundred dollar repair. What happened to the great 10 year Warranty? Oh yeah, its a limited warranty which does not include wiring. Could have burnt down my 4 year old home, but thats ok, not covered. The good news, the upper arm I replaced due to wear and tear would have been a free repair, because it would have been covered! No more Maytags in this home, ever!!

I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. After reading all the about the Maytag bottom fridge leaks and other problems, I refuse to get the same one again. If they do not do something, I promise I will before I get hurt again!

I call and all they say is “there is nothing saying they are having any problems with this.” Now I happen to know my own sister bought the same washer one month before I did. She was also told it was her mother board. It was almost as much to replace than to buy a new washer and by the way she is the who recommend the product to me, so I know she called Maytag and complained so if 2 of us in the same family had an issue I find it hard to believe no one else did. We purchased a Maytag MVWX655DW1 Bravos MCT washer in 2017 and I recall a sloshing sound during agitation. Its a high efficiency model and was okay for several months, I think. It began to make something of a clunking sound during agitation that was similar to the deceleration sounds when the spin cycle completes. It seems that is an indication that something is wrong. Clothes arent clean after washing - another reason to suspect a problem. I observed the wash cycles and noticed that some items dont even get wet during the wash cycle. The clunking is probably an indication of the type of failure but I couldnt find anything other than someone else asking the same question when I did an internet search. Expected performance is shown in a company video with water sloshing during agitation. Thats the key take-away. My basket moves back and forth an inch or two during agitation and makes a clunking sound at each direction change. Water isnt sloshing through clothing and some of the garage rags that were once my clothes probably just needed a good washing. I suppose that even cleaning the washer isnt accomplishing much. The spin cycle is actually impressive. I load the washer evenly and find the completed loads with a towel or shirt evenly covering the clothes pulled to the basket below. Unfortunately, thats probably the only part of the process cleaning anything. The enclosure says its designed and assembled in U.S.A. and, unfortunately, speaks to our manufacturing ability. Some of the engineers Ive worked with over the years suggested areas to inspect. I was able to use my phone camera to look under the unit and noted that it is controlled by a main drive motor and a little synchronous motor with a linkage that Im guessing changes agitation direction. Both are made in China. Ive considered repairing it and just pulled the wash plate for inspection and found nothing beyond the difficulty of pulling the wash plate. Probably an issue with the drive assembly and a few hundred dollars in parts to fix. Ive also had input from someone about the cost of replacing the control board. I grew up with TV commercials of the Maytag repairman with nothing to repair in the world of reliable, American products. Its disappointing to find that is no longer the case. The low tech GE washers weve used all our lives were old and ugly when they left our house. Not defective, a few drops of oil below or worn finish but still working. It really is a disappointment to look at where we are today. It didnt have to collect samples on Mars or deliver orders in a self-driving vehicle. A reliable washer to clean dirty clothes is all we hoped for.

My Maytag refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot less than 3 years ago. It is a French door, bottom freezer draw model #MFI2569VEA1. Every four days, there is a huge puddle of water at the base of the unit and it is starting to ruin my ceramic tiles. I tried the online video solutions to no avail. Home Depot wont repair it, they told me to contact Maytag. Maytag wants me to purchase a $375 warranty, which is 30% of what I paid for the refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again, or any Maytag product for that matter. They once stood for solid reliability and peace of mind, now you get a piece of junk instead. I cant even sell it on Craigslist if I wanted to because who would want it? If a class action suit is ever initiated, Ill be on board. I hope Consumer Affairs contacts me.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series washer and dryer in 2009. The repair people have been to my house 7 times. The dryer had a useless part on the drum that made a banging noise while running. The washer keeps getting coins and small undergarments stuck in the motor. Every now and then, one of us leaves a coin in the pocket by mistake. I did purchase the extended warranty on the set. The repairperson that comes to my house is great. I would, however, not want to have to keep leaving work to meet repairmen. The machines are not quiet. If you need quiet from your appliances, this is not the set for you. If you do not clean the washer with Affresh or Clorox product, your clothes and your room smells. The clothes are always so tangled after washing; they tend to wear out quickly. Im not sure about this high efficiency washer. I wish I had just purchased a regular machine.

I purchased this high-end dishwasher 7 years ago and 3 years of fairly light use, the control panel on the top would operate sporadically or not at all. Called the dealer who sent out the repairman that installed it and had to replace the control panel to the tune of $300 once the labor was included (took 2 visits as he had to order the part, so 2 trip charges). Now 3 & 1/2 years later, it is doing it again!! A call to Maytag and then a transfer to Whirlpool customer service got me nowhere. They said there were no recalls or documentation for problems with the dishwasher. Really??? I see lots of complaints on this problem with very similar Maytag dishwasher models. They would not send me a new part at no charge as a result but offered to set up a service appointment for me so I can spend another $300 (probably higher now after 3 years) and would register my complaint. Thanks for nothing!Doing that would turn my originally $900 dishwasher into a $1500 one with the result that it will probably fail again in 3 years. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. I saw a YouTube video on taking it apart and applying silicone around the ribbon connections as others have done in the hopes I can get it working again for a while as I dont have the $$$ needed to replace it again on a retired fixed income. :(

I purchased my Neptune Washer in 2005/2006. I had a mildew problem, and the store told me to clean it with bleach. It is now 6 years later, and the ball bearings are going out. I called two different repair companies, and were told by both they would save me the call out charge, because the ball bearings were going out, and it would cost between $ 600-$700 to fix, so I may as well buy a new one. The washer is only 6 years old. This is completely unacceptable! I then tried to find someone online to fix it, and I ran into the fact that the Neptune Washers had a recall. Why was I, not notified? I bought the washer and dryer set from a Maytag store. No one tried to reach me. I am now stuck with the problem of buying a new one, and really cannot afford one at this time. Purchased the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer in January, 2014. Today, 5/16/15 (less than 1 1/2 years later) the repairman tells me that the cause of the loud noise in the spin cycle is bad bearings. Only a 1-year warranty on the machine. I have never purchased extended warranties on appliances so this will cost me $400! Or a new washer since this is more than half the cost of the new washer. This is bad business, Maytag. Ive been a loyal Maytag customer for years but I think Im heading to Speed Queen with their 5-year warranty unless youre going to give me a helluva deal to keep me. Grrrrrrr.

After one year of service from our Maytag Jetclean Plus Dishwasher with Toughscrub the circuit board went out. I have been seeing and hearing other people complaining about this problem. We purchased this device based in large part on Maytags reputation for reliability. I am not happy with this machine. I will complain to the company and write another review based on the results. I suggest Maytag goes back to the old knobs until they can assemble and protect the circuit board, which I believe was damaged by heat and moisture.

After having a Maytag washer/dryer set that lasted 20 years, I decided to go with Maytag again. Big mistake! Centennial Dryer has already broke down and the parts, before the overcharged shipping, was over $100. I wish I had done some research. Maytag is no longer Maytag, it was purchased by Whirlpool. Hence the lack of quality. Not only that, I dislike doing business with heartless companies that just close shop & let loyal employees go while paying upper management fat severance pay. Then Whirlpool changed the vested lifetime benefits of the Maytag retirees. Will not buy another Maytag appliance and will never purchase a Whirlpool product.

I positively HATE the new BravosXL Maytag washer, which has no decent agitator. It is ruining my clothes, as it spins with little water and leaves soap residue all over the clothes. Additionally it puts large, long wrinkles in my knits, especially disfiguring slacks. Maytag must have known how rough and ruinous this washer was on knits BEFORE selling it to an unsuspecting public! I want my money back in order to purchase an old-style, well-functioning agitator washing machine.A class-action suit should be brought against Maytag. There was no way to know before buying and using that this machine is horrible!!!

I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything
I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything beside Maytag. Our old Maytag refrigerator broke. Would cost too much to fix. So, we decided to buy new. We had the old white, which I was perfectly fine in buying again, however, white was super expensive. So, the salesperson persuaded us to purchase stainless steel. We got a pkg for close to $4000 all in June of 2016. Needless to say, these items have been called for repair within the 1 year warranty over half a dozen times, and have had to replace pieces that have just broken. My worst experience is the stove. I really do not like it at all. I feel the product is misleading. We wanted a self cleaning oven. It is the newest brand out there for what I consider a joke. It is the AquaLift Technology that does not clean anything. My old Maytag self cleaning oven cleaned far better than this. The same spots are in the oven. It just is worthless. I have addressed my frustration with Maytag where I was told that the oven is for the light user. Well, then you need to educate the people who sell your stuff, because I have a family I cook a lot. If this product was made for an apartment single person who does not cook then we should have been informed. Your product states Self Cleaning. Its not self cleaning!!! My frustration went up to the main office of Maytag where their resolution was to give me a discount on a new stove. What do I do with the one I have, and I was told I could sell it!!!! Really Maytag wow from a consumer that has always been a valued customer this is the level of service I get. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty on all Maytag products, because of my fear of something just breaking again. My advice to all is either buy a no named brand or buy something cheaper. Please folks if you have a family do not purchase these products. Its for people that just need a pretty display of appliances!!!

Purchased our Maytag in October 2009. From the beginning it would make loud, popping noises occasionally but seemed to work just fine. At the time of purchase, we opted to buy the 5 year extended warranty for $125.00 (just in case). Here we are at seven months after that warranty is no longer any good and the freezer leaks all over the floor and we have to keep a towel at the bottom to soak it up.This morning I wake up to the panel being completely out and fridge is not running at all!!! We thought when we purchased our Maytag that we were buying the best of the best... not even close! We just paid for an expensive piece of junk! Who has the extra money just lying around to go buy a new fridge? Not us! This is unacceptable!!! I have read other reviews that sound pretty much exact to our experience with this refrigerator. I hope somehow they can and will be held responsible for putting this product on the market knowing full well it is an over-priced piece of junk.

Purchased refrigerator model # MFT2976AEMOO September 2013. First repair was 1 month after purchase. From compressor to moisture build up inside fridge. 7 repairs in the first year. Customer service disgusting. They simply dont care, and do not back their products. Work time lost waiting at home for repairs. Service men come and always have to order parts, which means 2 service calls for each problem. Our service man broke one of the drawers when removing it to do a repair which meant another visit for that replacement part. Continued to have more problems when warranty was done. Just replaced my 3 year old fridge. Could not afford to keep it any longer. Have never been more disappointed with any appliance that I have bought. Will never buy MAYTAG again. Product is inferior.

I have never reviewed anything and feel compelled to chime in. The Maytag Bravos XL is the WORST washer dryer set ever. My 20 year old tiny washer with agitator cleaned a million times better in half the time. In fact this washer doesnt even clean your clothes! The reason is because so little water comes in and you cannot manually control the amount of water. Ive tried deep water wash-total joke. Heavy duty wash and extra rinse, still no better. You can wash it 2-3 times with the same poor results. Who wants to put on dirty underwear! The dryer easily takes 2 cycles to get an average size load dry and forget sheets and towels! They take 2 hours.

Now the motor went and I was told I need a new washer even though the product warranty information clearly states the motor is covered for up to 10 years. The repairman told us that the motor thats in my machine is no longer being manufactured. How is that my fault? I do not have another $800.00 for a new one, which is now not even a lot of money for a washer. Ive already bought 2 washers since I built my home 14 years ago. Its just not right!

Control panel is defective on my Maytag dishwasher. Found a phone number that was created to deal with this problem. I only had to hold for a few minutes but the first person I spoke to was rude and unhelpful so I asked to speak to someone else. When another agent came on the line I told her that only the normal and rinse button light up but do nothing when pressed. She arranged for a repairman to come to my house and determine if my control panel is defective at their cost. When he arrived he asked me what the problem was and I said, The touch pad control panel is not working. He stated, Your control panel needs to be replaced. I have to order the part and come back to fix it. He was there for about five minutes and he never laid a finger on the dishwasher. When I asked if the control panel design has been fixed he said, No, you will probably have to replace it again. There is a video on the internet that shows how to seal the electronics with silicone. The repairman said that they cannot seal the electronics unless Whirlpool provides a kit to do it. I guess the Maytag repairmen may have to come out of retirement. My husband will seal ours after it is replaced so we hopefully dont have to deal with this problem again. So now I am waiting to see if he returns in a reasonable time frame and gets my dishwasher going. There is a class action suit about this issue filed in 2013 about this defect.Updated on 09/23/2015: A repairman came to my home on August 20, 2015, at Whirlpools cost, and he determined my touch pad did not work. He informed me that Maytag would provide the part, free of charge, but it would cost me 85.00 for them to come back and install it in 2-3 days. As of today I am still waiting for the part to come in, apparently due to high demand Maytag was out of touch pads, which were out of stock. No idea of when that would be, the repairmans company said, dont call us, we will call you when the part arrives. So I began to look for the part myself, found a couple on an auction site, but most companies that sold parts were on backorder. Until I found a company that said their inventory was out of stock but they had five, stashed in the back. The price of 105.00 was not that much more than the 85.00 cost for the service call. Got it in two (2) days, installed (in about five minutes), sealed by my husband and I loaded it and washed my dishes. I was so overcome with relief, tears came to my eyes and I almost fell out. I give five star to the fella that had the part stashed until I needed it.The Maytag repairman is still waiting for the part so he can fix my dishwasher.

So we purchased a whole package in sept 2014 for our newly constructed home. In Nov we received the CO and thats when everything was finally professionally installed. After its first wash the dishwasher broke and there was a flood in the house and soaked 20% of the newly installed high quality cabinets. We cleaned up everything and called Maytag to have someone inspect it to see what needs to be fixed. The gentleman came about a week or two later and said that the machine isnt worth fixing and to try to get Maytag to replace the whole machine, but he still listed all the parts that were needed to fix it. We tried calling Maytag and said what the repairman said but they said he must fix it and they will not provide a new one. So we wait for the parts and no one calls us. We follow up with Maytag and they say theyve ordered the wrong parts so it will take longer. We try calling the repair man and he doesnt call us back. Then call Maytag again and get them to call the repairman to see why he doesnt answer us. They told him to call us twice and every time he tells Maytag that hes called us and we dont pick up. So we tell Maytag hes lying, the repairman hasnt called us for weeks and Maytag doesnt give a **. And seems like this repairman is freaking lazy and doesnt want to work, even if hes paid for it. You know whats happening now? Chargeback! Thats right Maytag, screw you. When I do another house I will never buy Maytag again! Horrible service and a very defective product. I thought we were paying for quality!! They lost a customer that is faithful and doesnt mind paying extra. Hope everyone can take this into consideration before buying. I wish I wouldve seen these comments before...

Purchased washer in Jan 2013. Average usage is 1 load per week. Last week the washer started leaking from the rear left side. A service call discovered that the bleach dispenser was filling up with water and overflowing. Bleach dispenser?? I never use it! Seems that the new bleach dispenser hose line has a relief valve whereas the original part did not. Internet research has confirmed that this problem is very common with this make and model. However, a call to Maytag requesting what compensation, if any, would be available resulted in a response that basically was too bad... so sad... cant do anything for you! Seriously? An apparent common, known problem and all they can say is we understand your problem. Needless to say that will definitely be the last lonely repairman Maytag that this household will purchase.

I have been very disappointed with the 2017 model of Maytag washer and dryer as the washer does not clean the clothes as it should. There is the inner part taken out with no agitator and I believe that is the reason that the clothes comes out not white or cleans as I am use to it being before with my other machines. I think they need to reinstall the agitator to clean the clothing thoroughly. The dryer takes longer to dry the clothing and it uses more hydro which cost a lot more monthly for us to have to pay out. I will never purchase another washer and dryer as this in the future.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer at Lowe’s on sale spending almost $2000. Loved both of them until the washer stopped with a load of laundry in it. No power to unit. Called for service. Could not provide serial number as locked in washer. Service company able to order parts without the serial number but part put on back order. Washer needs a master board. After 1 week of wet laundry stuck in the washer called store manager at Lowe’s. I contacted Maytag Service and had a rude customer service clerk who finally listened to me after I got angry with her. She contacted the appliance repair company and got the back ordered part sent to the appliance repair company. We are now 10 days out. Still do not have the part; just talked to appliance repair company supervisor. The appliance repair company supervisor said he would schedule installation as soon as he had the part. It will probably be 14 days when I get the washer fixed. I am dreading opening the washer to get the load out that I will have to throw away. When I called for service at Lowe’s the representative said, We have had a lot of issues with this. A 2 month old new washer should not have the control board go out. Shame on Maytag.

Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine
Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine Model MHW5500FW1 and if there is a class action lawsuit please include us! We have owned other Maytag Washing Machines and never experienced such an epic failure as we have with this washing machine! We were so excited when we purchased our new Maytag washer/dryer set in March of 2018 we even remodeled our pantry/laundry room to accommodate them! As the chief operator of the washing machine, I have literally cried at what a mistake weve made! We have no complaint of the Maytag dryer. Let me describe my new normal procedure for laundering a load of clothes. First, load the washer with clothes then press power/cancel then press rapid wash let the clothes get HOPEFULLY saturated with water then hit hold to start and then hit power/cancel this shuts off the washing machine. I then press power/cancel again and select normal and the water empties out of the washing machine from the prior load and then starts to refill, if the add a garment light comes on (when it wants too) and no I dont change any pre-set settings I am able to add extra water with a pitcher, if this procedure works I let the washer run its 1-hour and 48-minute cycle. If not, I have to start over again because the add garment light wouldnt come on to allow the door to unlock. After the clothes are finished I again press power/cancel then hit rapid wash put my fabric softener in the dispenser press hold to start and let it run its 36-minute cycle making sure my clothes are rinsed appropriately and not stiff because of the lack of water. I neglected to say that when Ive tried tricking the washer and think I am able to add extra water, if Ive added too much the sensing kicks in and the washing machine drains all the water out on its own and refills with the little water it allows! Which is maddening! I throw up my hands and sit down and cry!!! I have contacted Maytag/Whirlpool complaining about the lack of water and their wacky water sensor! I asked them how can you conserve water and electricity when you have to wash your clothes over and over with long wash cycles? This doesnt make sense! My white clothes are now dingy and stiff as well as the colored. Maytag says you can use powdered detergents if its HE High Efficiency powdered detergents, but thats not true. The detergent doesnt dissolve and ends up on the clothes at the end of the long wash cycle because of the lack of water! From the beginning I adjusted the amount of powdered detergent for the front load washer and have to dissolve it in hot water prior to washing and hopefully am able to add it to the clothes if the add a garment will let me! I have now resorted to extra cycles to rinse out any remaining detergent hoping my clothes will be soft and fresh smelling. I had planned to replace my old Maytag agitator washing machine with this piece of junk front loader, fortunately we kept our old washing machine as a back up!

Now, we wash our dark clothes with fear of damage them. The dryer is also pathetic. I put in a normal load on high for 60 minutes, and theyre still very damp. Maytag Commercial # MVWB765FW0: My husband and I wanted to get rid of our GE front load. It was horrible. Even constant cleaning and leaving the door open all the time, our clothes still smelled like mildew and musty. My hubby wanted an LG and I said no way. As a little girl my mom had an old wringer washer and her first electric washer was a Maytag in the late 50s. She passed away in 2001 and in her lifetime she had 2 electric washing machines both were Maytags. They were so dependable and built to last so naturally I wanted a Maytag. Wrong! I am so disappointed. We purchased it in Sept of 2017 for $695. I was so excited the first time we used it. It was a little noisy, but living in the county and having a well we were glad it was an energy/water saver. The first couple of months it was so refreshing to have clothes that did not smell musty and mildewy. I noticed they were really wrinkled but I still iron anyway so it was not a big deal. However ironing over and over again on some items did not get rid of the wrinkles and the past 2 months I have been going thru lint rollers like crazy and it still does not come off. I have to use a slightly damp lint brush or go over the clothing with packing tape to get the lint off. It is horrible! I dont want my GE back but I dont want this one either! I wish I would have read reviews first and listened to my hubby. I wont ever have another Maytag and when this one goes I will certainly read reviews and go with something more dependable. Unfortunately for now we have wasted the money and it is ruining our clothes! I agree that we should all do the class action. There are just too many of us experiencing the same issues. Maytag should do right by the consumer! We have learned our lesson, review before you buy!

Like many others, I have a two-year-old dishwasher that needs a control board already, and from what Ive read this wont be the first time. It would cost $150 for the part, plus the service calls make it around a $350 experience. The only choice is to pull the machine out, or buy a 5-year warranty for another $318.56. Grand total for your marvelous high quality Maytag that lasts only 7 years? Around $1,000. I am so sad, the company used to symbolize quality but now when I see the logo, I think of landfills.

I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot. This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

My husband and I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher in March of 2012 at a cost of around $650. There is only the two of us at home and I only run the dishwasher 2-3 times per week. On June 16th, I went to run the dishwasher and it would not turn on after hitting the start button. The cycle buttons lit up but the dishwasher would not start. I called the service number in the user instruction manual and talked to a service representative. I was told that the electronic panel that runs the dishwasher is not covered under the 2nd-10th year limited warranty. It would cost around $291 to fix including parts and labor. When I asked for a qualified Maytag repair service company in my area, she only had one company to give me. This company does not have a very good local reputation so I preferred not to use it. My question is - How can a part that runs the dishwasher not be covered under the warranty? If the start button on the control panel is defective then the machine will not work. I also have a model MDB7749AWW2. After reading some of the 356 complaints about this very dishwasher, I think the Maytag Company must be well aware that there is a problem with this machines control panel and they are choosing to disregard the customer. My old dishwasher was a Kenmore and it ran for 27 years and I only had to replace the motor once. I will not be buying anything Maytag in the future.

Ive read a few reviews and would have to agree. This is the worse washer I have ever purchased. I agree clothes go in dirty and come out dirty. I have to hand wash clothes to get them clean and wont even mention how long it takes a white t shirt to start looking like it was placed in mud vs being placed in a washer. Called Maytag and they said I was loading it wrong even though I was loading it as suggested by the manual. Then they suggested it needed service. I think not after reading these reviews. The irony is that I had called for service on a front loader due to prolonged washing cycles, the repairman was as useful as this MayTag washer. Come to find out I replaced a perfectly functioning washer, intake screen on cold water needed to be cleaned, for this piece of useless metal. I guess since reading that Maytag doesnt value its customers by offering some type of consideration I will replace this piece of crap. Please dont buy the Bravo series. You will be sorry and you will never have whites white again.

I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago.
I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. I started having problems with my dryer 3 months ago and after several service calls (and a few hundred dollars), it still does not dry our clothes. I spent over $1500 for the pair and was excited to have a top end washer and dryer. My biggest complaint is with the manufacturer, Maytag - they just dont seem to care. I did not buy the extended warranty for two reasons. First, I bought a nice unit and expect it to work properly for a reasonable amount of time (at least 4-5 years without any problems). Second, they are just a bad purchase and they cost about half of the unit and if you buy a nice unit, you shouldnt need one. I could have bought a new dryer for what I spent to try and have this one work properly. My wife and I spent $600 for our last set which lasted 7 years without a problem; they were manufactured by GE, which I now wish I would have bought another GE. My wife talked me into buying a new pair to accommodate the needs of our growing family. I wished I would have kept the GE pair that was working.I would not recommend any Maytag appliance: they really just dont care to provide any reasonable service to stand behind their products. What a shame. This reminds me of why many foreign manufacturers are beating us at what we used to do best - make products that last and work! The washer and dryer look nice and have many great features, but these dont matter much if they dont work.

Maytag side-by-side fridge with water/ice dispenser (Model # MSD2572VEW00)
Maytag side-by-side fridge with water/ice dispenser (Model # MSD2572VEW00) was purchased in 2011. Mechanically, fridge is working, however, every piece of plastic inside the refrigerator section (the regular glass shelves with plastic rims, vegetable bins, and door ban shelves) are all cracking and falling apart. Additionally, the buttons on the ice/water dispenser fell off, exposing the actual buttons on the panel. All three of the regular sized shelves have severe cracks in the plastic that affect the sturdiness of the shelf. Both vegetable drawers are badly cracked, falling apart and one doesnt even stay secure on the track. Even all three of the door ban shelves are cracked with fractures along the sides and bottom. Weve resorted to putting clear packing tape just to hold the shelves together. We contacted Whirlpool, who owns Maytag and because our fridge is 4 years outside of the 1 year warranty, they could do nothing for us. In over 30 years of owning refrigerators, this is the first time Ive seen every shelf and bin crack the way this fridge has and in less than 5 years no less! Whirlpools solution to our issue was to send my call to their Parts Department. The total cost to replace all the cracked shelves, bin drawers plus the ice/water dispenser panel is $702.28. No thanks, thats as much as a new fridge. Whirlpool should be utterly ashamed of their total lack of Customer Satisfaction by distributing such a piece of junk. Who would have thought that an appliance costing a couple hundred dollars would be considered as disposable as an aluminum pan and in only 5 years! One thing is for sure, I will certainly think carefully again on ever buying another Whirlpool product again since they are so apt to take my money only for me to repurchase an expensive appliance again in less than 5 years.

I have been washing clothes in different washers for almost 4 decades and never had a terrible washer until now. It has total control of the water level and it NEVER has enough water added. I have to add at least 2 full dish pans of water to every load. My washer does not allow you to pick your level because it does it automatically and no theres way to bypass this problem. It moans and groans for almost an hour in slow motion at its best. It should be illegal to sell such crap!If the intent was to save energy it fails when it runs twice as long as other washers. The instructions that are in the lid say that when you set it on deep water wash that it does not sense automatically-LIES! This lid must be generically made for other washers that they have because again, you cannot choose a water level. When a washer runs for almost an hour (this is not soak or extra rinse either) it is not saving energy over those that run for half that length of time. I wish I had returned it, but I listen to others who say that this is how washers are now. I still owe 150.00 on it and hate writing that check.

Come on people are you serious! Im talking about all those people who give this washer great reviews or even mediocre reviews. This washing machine sucks! Thank God for the glass lid so you can see how terrible it washes. No water in this thing. Clothes that sit on the edge of the bowl do not agitate enough to be washed if there was water in the wash cycle. Bleach that you use in your white wash cycle is left over and gets onto your colored cycle if you wash it the color cycle next. I ** you not, mark my words that stains are left on clothes even in a cycle that has lots of water in it. If you think Im high or crazy take a look at your local Home Depot or Lowes store. Check the area for washing machines that are for sale that have been used. You will find this Maytag Bravos XL machine there. They look good and are practically brand new and they will be there for weeks on and because people return them if they get lucky to return them. I called my store and they refuse to take it back and told me to call the manufacturer. I did just that... I called the manufacturer and they told me they can send out a serviceman to check the washing machine. Butt...and a big butt, if they find nothing wrong with the washing machine that I will be charged a service fee. Bunch of **! For all of us that get stuck with this pile of garbage we can thank the tree huggers for trying to save the world with low water consumption water washing machines.

It was going to cost an arm and a leg to repair it. Mind you this washer isnt even 3 yrs old yet. We have a Maytag dishwasher that came with the house we purchased in 2012.
We have a Maytag dishwasher that came with the house we purchased in 2012. Im not sure of the exact age but the former owner said it was a relatively new installation. The appliance works very well; cleans well. Just a couple of things of concern. First, it is really noisy. The fact that we can very clearly hear it running in the adjacent room does not speak well for it in this regard. The other things that has occurred is that rusting is evident on the trays of the dishwasher. One of the upright pieces has already broken off due to rust and two others are close to coming apart very soon. Nothing sharp is placed in those areas that are coming apart so there would be nothing remarkable to disturb the plastic coating on the wire racks. I can only conclude that the plastic coating was defective at the start; hence the rusting at the base of the upright pointing racks. That said, it does clean well but I dont foresee this unit lasting much longer overall due to the rack damage that is continuing to occur. I would expect the racks to at least last as long as the dishwasher but this does not seem very likely at the rate the racks are deteriorating.

We bought a new Whirlpool dishwasher, and it was a nightmare. So after four years of that we tried their sister company Maytags dishwasher. I have to say that I think these two old American brands have been ruined. This Maytag dishwasher is always making my dishes smell like rotten fish or a dead animal. I have to dump bleach and or vinegar down in the bottom constantly to keep the stink down. And I have looked and there is no food laying in the grinder. Then we started to lose wash cycles, and the buttons (not real buttons but a cheapo control panel) started to malfunction after 2 years. Now, 3 years into it the plastic adjusters in the top rack are broken, control panel has gone totally haywire, and still smells terrible. I remember when American appliances were sturdy and reliable because they were designed by engineers. Now they must be designed by accountants and shareholders. Goodbye Maytag and Whirlpool.

I have always heard Maytag was one of the best so after replacing too many washers to count in 15 years, like Whirlpool and Kenmore, I decided to spend more for quality. I figured pay a few hundred more once rather than spending $400 for a cheaper one that only lasts 3 or 4 years. That choice seemed environmentally responsible and financially as well. However, I couldnt have been more wrong. In 2016 I purchased the Maytag Centennial top loader for $500. I really loved the size of the tub and the way it looked. I can fit a large comforter in it with plenty of room leftover. I also have no interest in a front loader after reading reviews. So I thought this was going to be great! Well it hasnt been. It has broken 3 times. The circuit board twice and now the bearings are going out in the motor. I fixed it the first two times but now Im done. Im done with Maytag, Aka Whirlpool. I think it will be a Speed Queen for me now. Im hoping it wont be a dud also because they are pricey! It actually scares me to spend that kind of money. I have really lost my faith in most companies nowadays. Customer service and quality has gone out the window. I think about how much this impacts the environment! Its terrible that appliances only last a few years before they end up in the landfill.

MF12569YEM2 - Purchased refrigerator less than 2 1/2 years ago, also started having issues with ice forming in bottom freezer and leaking on to floor. I shut the water source off to the water/ice feature, but it didnt solve the problem. After getting on this site and seeing the issue is quite widespread it seems that it should be considered a manufacturing defect. This is the second (actually third) Maytag Refrigerator we have had, one had actually needed to be replaced about 13 years ago because of electrical problem which service man said could cause it to catch fire. The replacement (different model) worked fine for about 11 years... so we decided to try Maytag again... WHAT A MISTAKE! After reading about the multiple problems we can look forward to and endless service calls I too would never purchase any Maytag or Whirlpool appliances in the future...maybe the company should think about the impact on lost consumers!

MDB4949SDM1 - After owning Maytag model MDB/C-2 for thirteen (13) plus years, I decided to purchase the subject Maytag Model when my 13 year old died. Big mistake. Previous model was very simplistic in rack design and it provided user-friendly options such as two detachable baskets for silverware and a special rack for delicate items. The new model has been designed so your dishes go in on angles on the top rack and as such bowls, small plates etc never stay in place once you move the rack and the lower rack configuration was redesigned and the rear area which was open to allow for bigger pots and pans to fit better has been removed, so now you have to lay your pans on top of the tines, very difficult to low the dishwasher.Additionally, I purchased the stainless steel model; apparently in the coating process a drip pattern was sealed that you can see when sunlight hits dishwasher. Further the stainless steel face that they bond to the door has popped, so when you grab the handle the face pops in and out. Lastly the new design has an adjustable upper rack; I tried numerous times to adjust the rack and couldnt so when I called Customer Service for these issues, it basically boils down to if the Service Man comes out and determines my issues are cosmetic and the rack which Ive never been able to adjust should happen to work then I have to pay the service call as there is not warranty coverage. So I declined the Service Call and advised that this would be my last Maytag purchase. I highly recommend anyone considering this unit fully investigate and test out before buying.

We bought a new Maytag Bravo XL washer in 2015 under the understanding it has a 10 year warranty. Well it’s 2020 and it starting leaking. Called customer service and lost 3hours of my life waiting for a person. Keep in mind I’m pretty handy and work on spa, and pools. And can troubleshoot things like this. I found the problem on our washer looked up the part and number. When I finally got a person on the phone they wanted to send a technician out to verify what is wrong with it. I was all for that but then they said it would cost $100. I said no because I already know what’s wrong and just need the part so I could fix it. I knew the labor would not be covered under warranty so that’s why I didn’t really need the tech to come. After a few minutes Maytag finally says the unit is. It covered under warranty at all. I asked yes it is because it’s literally written all over the washer it has a 10year warranty. So then Maytag goes to say they only cover the drum and motor for 10 years. So now I’m stuck with a washer that leaks that was sold to us under the pretense of a 10year warranty for parts. And now having to buy $280 worth of parts and shipping to fix it. Maytag advertises that they have the best warranty and they never break as their commercials imply. So they represent themselves And their warranty falsely. Buyer beware. Maytag is shady. I’m guessing Whirlpool is part of them so please do your research before you buy. 1. Customer service doesn’t exist with them. (3hrs hold times.) 2. Misleading warranty coverage. 3. Will not call you back.4. Try to extort more money from you. ($100 to send a tech out to confirm what you already know.)DO NOT BUY!!! Learn from our mistake.

Like many other reviews, it is impossible to keep the machine from going out of balance and trying to tear the laundry room apart. I called Maytag and of course they want to make sure the machine is level in at least 3 dimensional space as well as 2 parallel dimensions per String Theory. As far as the 3 dimensions, I assured them I had already thought of this (as an aside, ever try to find any flat metal on one of these machines? Kind of helps when using a level.)So after more exciting conversation, they offered me a Warranty for $437. While trying to control my laughter, I said I could trash the Bravos and buy a new machine for that price. As far as repairing it, it cost $120 for a repairman to grace my door step plus $35 every 15 minutes plus parts -- again, the decision is to trash it and buy a new machine. In case I was too subtle in my comments, I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Im too frustrated to tell you about my KitchenAid fridge. As much as I detest it, I am forced to join the buy and trash 5 year club . Sometimes the good old days were really better.
