Within a year of purchasing this washing machine, I needed to schedule a repair service because the washer started making an unfamiliar noise. Repair Service shows up and refuses to touch my washer. The ink on the Serial and Model number (stick on label) inside the washing machine door has washed off. Sticker label in excellent shape, except all the ink has come off. If the Repair Serviceman cannot read the label, NO SERVICE FOR YOU. MY SAGA... Did you know that if your washer or dryer does not have a readable serial number on the machine, NO repair service will work on it. It does not matter if you have all the paperwork showing this information. If the original label is unreadable, no repair service will touch it because they will be fired. Maytag changes parts on a model all the time. The serial number is the ONLY way a serviceman can tell exactly what parts your washer was made with. Apparently the serial and model number label sticker was not printed with permanent ink. The Repair Service said the Serial and Model number ink washed off the label because the sticker was incorrectly put on the inside of the washer door at the bottom. But they were WRONG! Maytag shows online that is exactly where the serial and model number sticker is supposed to be located. So, I called Maytag to order a new serial number (stick on) label for our washer. I gave Maytag the information and I was told I would have the label in two weeks. Then I called back a week or so later to make sure the serial number was ordered and on the way. Maytag said there was a misunderstanding, and that they received my request on 6/17/15 and it was sent to the ONE AND ONLY GUY that makes replacement serial number tags and he was sent my request on 6/22/15. Maytag said it would take the one and only man quite some time to make the label (SINCE THERE IS ONLY ONE!!!) and I could expect to receive the replacement label in 4 to 6 weeks and they were sorry, but there was absolutely NOTHING they could do about it. So as my year old washer sits for over a month, Im going to the Laundromat each week. We should have received the new serial number on August 6, 2015. So it’s taken almost 2 months and my label is close to two weeks late. To date I have not received my serial number. I tried to use MAYTAG chat, dont bother, they said they couldnt help me. I needed to call in. So I emailed Maytag today for their support services to tell me WHEN I can expect to receive my new serial number label. I bought this through hhGregg. Check your Maytag washer. IF THE SERIAL NUMBER AND MODEL NUMBER LABEL ARE INSIDE THE DOOR, CHECK TO SEE IF THE INK IS COMING OFF THE MACHINE LABEL, and order a new one NOW if it is, or you will not be able to get your washer serviced. Do not put new label back on the inside of the washer door. This is just unbelievable.

I am a Baby Boomer... just like so many of us, I watched those lonely Maytag Repairman television commercials. Yes, silly me I purchased our top loading Maytag Bravos XL because of the brand name and because the machine was large enough to wash our bedding. Well, like so many fellow purchasers have found, this machine does not get the clothes clean and leaves soap spots all over the clothes. Its embarrassing. Additionally, there is that funny smell after the clothes come out of the wash. Well, Maytag has really done a number on us all. Kudos to their research & development department for creating a washing machine where the clothes come out dirtier. Has Maytag thought about a RECALL? I will tell everyone I know to NEVER buy a Maytag.

My washer is new, out of warranty, and about 2 and a half years old. All of a sudden, with no warning or previous issues, the computer board in the washing machine malfunctioned which caused a humming noise, it would not cycle into the next wash phase, the time would go up instead of down, I could not change cycles, and when I would push the power button there would be a delay of power coming on. I unplugged and called my local appliance repair and he said he sees problems with this model regularly, although not always the same issues.Before purchasing I scoured the internet for reviews on different units to make sure I didnt get a lemon. I think Maytag saw the error of their ways quickly and stopped making these before people caught on. This model is no longer being made. I like matching units, so it meant either shell out $500 for replacing the board, or replacing both the washer and the dryer that still works, which would be about $1200 or more for a new set. I chose the least expensive route for now. Not that it matters where I bought mine, but Home Depot and it was on clearance so it was a good price. I have now made up for that difference in repairs.

Our washer stinks. We have done all the things suggested by Maytag, and it still stinks. Maytag suggested having it serviced by A&E, but I see on the Internet that they are probably not the best choice (very bad reviews). We called our local Maytag dealer, and they said that there is no fix available. They just stink. We will buy a new washer and will never buy anything Maytag again. I would suggest the same to everyone else.

The machine will not fill with enough water to wet all the clothes. I have to tape the tub to trick the machine so that the clothes will all get wet. When I had a service look at the machine he said that is how they are designed to be energy efficient. Who does not getting all the clothes wet clean them??? This is not for big loads but ALL loads - even hand wash loads. Every load takes an hour plus. Less water, more time, unclean clothes. I lose all the way around. REALLY wish I had a machine with the old features.

So far, so very good. This is the first time owning/using an electric oven. I just love my Maytag. It was affordable, especially since it was a combo sale with the over-head matching microwave from Home Depot. Two years later and it's as if I just purchased it. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. After reading all the about the Maytag bottom fridge leaks and other problems, I refuse to get the same one again. If they do not do something, I promise I will before I get hurt again!

We purchased a brand new Maytag washer dryer and had nothing but problems with both. After talking with corporate several times, trying to reach the CEO, the customer service person told us that the problems were buyers remorse. Needless to say we will never purchase another Maytag/Whirlpool product as long as we live. We are going with Electrolux!

Convenience, small, clean while you doing other jobs, it cleans while you sleeping, it's not loud, not expensive, comes in different sizes and colors, it's another helping hand, you will love it, it's worth the money.

First I do like the fact that it spins at such a high speed that the water is mostly gone, and that is the good news. I do like that it uses less water but when washing any dark colored clothes there are dirt or scum like marks where the clothes may have been folded or twisted in knots which I also do not like. I have cleaned machine but this started when new. Drying doesnt get rid of those scum marks either. I never had this problem with my old full fill machine. I have used more detergent and less HE of course in both liquid and powder. Any suggestions?

After reading all the reviews I realize this is a wide spread complaint. After 2 1/2 years the control panel on my Maytag Dishwasher will not work. You press the keys and hope for the best. I am thinking of going to the media with my complaint. Maybe we will all get some sort of refund or upgrade.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in July 2016. In August 2016 it broke for the first time. I was just passed my 30 day moneyback guarantee, so Sears would not take the washer back. I have had more than 10 service calls on this washer in one year. I live in a rural area, so Maytag told me I was in a non-serviceable area and would have to wait WEEKS until they found a repair person willing to come to me. I only live 40 miles from Richmond VA, where I purchased the washing machine, so imagine my shock when they told me they couldnt fix it because of my location! Ive had countless people in and out of my house, and it still does not work right. You can only do very small loads, so the perk of having an XL machine is none. But even at that, it does not properly clean anything, tangles clothes, and will leave even the cleanest items looking terrible when they come out.Ive had a new circuit board, new transmission, new bearings and gears, new balancing rods, and still, Im left with a machine that does not wash and makes terrible grinding noises. I bought the washer and matching dryer as a set, and even the dryer had to get a new circuit board put in it in the 1st 60 days! After thousands of dollars in repairs on a $1000 washer, Maytag will not admit I have a defective machine and replace it! I just ran a load of laundry and have to call Maytag yet again, because the grinding noise gets louder with every run. Do not waste your money!I would give anything to have the 29 year old set I gave away when I bought this garbage back! I have literally been on the phone with Maytag in tears because it doesnt work properly, Ive had to throw away items that would not come clean because there is not a laundromat available in the town I live in. All I want is to be able to keep my family in clean clothing and linens, doesnt seem like too much to ask.

I purchased my home in 2008 at which time I bought all brand new Maytag appliances, well the above the stove microwave Ive had to replace the door handle because it broke off and the oven I can only use the very top or bottom to cook on and I cant move them, otherwise the racks will fall through. I have burned myself numerous times as I cant pull the racks in or out and I found that out cooking dinner and when I pulled it out the rack fell through and my dinner went crashing down and splashed everywhere. Due to this fact I hardly ever use it. I contacted Maytag with no help, told me to buy new racks and those did the same thing so it was a $100. It seems as though the liner cant handle the self clean heat and if you look at my oven, the left side is pushed in. If anyone gets help with this issue please let me know. My model number is MERH865RAS serial # 14348133LX. Oh and my refrigerator is a side by side and I have had to have it repaired twice because my food kept thawing out. That model number is MSD2651KES serial 60869476LV all of these are Maytag products and were purchased brand new from Home Depot.

I can’t seem to get any help with my dryer. I have replaced the drum 2 times and thermostat 3 times. Model number is mde9700ayw. Serial number is 13229569gp. I simply want a new dryer that works.

The control panel acts just like the other reviews on here. The cancel light stays on. If I close the door, the washer automatically starts up again. It is unusable and it costs too much to have it repaired. First and last Maytag product for me.

July 2018 I bought a new Maytag electric washer and dryer. After one mo. the enamel inside the dryer started come off in sheets. It was replaced with 2019 model which after 3 mos. wont come on unless you unplug it and plug it back in after using it. I am now waiting for Maytag to send a repairman to come look at it. Steer clear of Maytag front load electric dryers.

I have a Maytag Performa washing machine (model no. PAVT234AWW) and called the Maytag parts department to order a plastic pulley for the main drive motor. I was told I would have to purchase the 189 dollar motor just to get the plastic pulley. After two days web searching and calling local appliance stores I found that Whirlpool who uses the same drive motor sells the pulley (part no. 21001108) for 9 dollars. The Whirlpool pulley is even made out of stronger plastic. I just wonder how many Maytag customers have had to purchase a drive motor like I was told I had to by Maytag just to fix a 9 dollar pulley. I got lucky and my problem was solved, but only because a local store happened to have this particular problem so frequently that they were able to help me out when Maytag should be the ones helping out their customers better. Thank you for your time.

No adequate response from Maytag. Unsafe washer. Will be taking this to consumer protection as my scrubs are coming out of the wash with blood etc. left on the articles, even with bleach used. Very serious for all concerned. If you have someone with shingles or any other transmittable skin disease in your household, do not use this washer.

Warranty dept. will not help you! I have been told by technicians sent to service my refrigerator after it spoiled food multiple times from not staying cold. The technician flat out told me that this refrigerator cannot be fixed but they are not allowed to say that it cannot be fixed. They will not return your calls and are just flat out rude. After asking to escalate a call, the rep said the manager will call me right back in a few minutes. Hours went by and I called again five minutes before they closed to speak to someone in management at that moment. This manager told me with no hesitation that they dont always believe what their technicians say because they send out techs that are good, okay, and not good. My first question is why is Maytag confident in the people they are sending to my house time and time again that stay for three hours?! She began to get rude and disrespectful and said, Well, if you had cancer, you wouldnt believe the first thing they say... I am in awe of these remarks. How do you compare a refrigerator to cancer?! I asked for a business address and stated that I would like the address to file with the Better Business Bureau and she told me that they have all the info I need. She refused to let me speak to anyone else. This situation is uncalled for when I have the technician telling me, This refrigerator is not repairable but they wont allow me to say that and Maytag will not make this an easy process for you. Unbelievable!

Almost one year to the date of purchase, my Maytag glass top range stopped working. The oven is still operational, but the range top does not work. The knobs turn and the surface lights go on but the elements no longer heat up. Trying to get a response from a real person at Maytag was impossible. I was put through a myriad of prompts that led me to scheduling a service appointment. I called AppliancesMart and got a wonderful sales person who said a service call would cost me 60 to 80 dollars and that he had not heard of repairs below $300 for this type of problem. Needless to say I am very angry and disappointed that I had not done more research before I purchased this item. If I can prevent one more person from making this same mistake, I will get some modicum of satisfaction out of this horrible experience.

Purchased French Door MF12269VM 22 inch from The Brick furniture April 1, 2012. Turned out to be a real April fools joke. Purchased extended warranty with TransGlobal for 5 years. First, fridge delivered after about a couple of weeks because it actually wasnt in stock. Naughty Brick lied about availability. Fridge arrives and after a service call from Maytag repair, they ascertain compressor doesnt work.Order fridge number 2. Two weeks later, get second fridge but lever for dispensing water is broken off. Order fridge number 3. Usual two-week wait and fridge finally arrives but the whole side panel is damaged. Send it back and order Fridge number 4. Service from Brick, Maytag and Whirlpool, terrible customer relations. Misrepresented delivery dates, supply issues, and operational damages.Fridge finally installed. Ice maker operates intermittently for the next year. Service techs from TransGlobal offer a variety of suggestions including changing filter, water pressure issues. Finally ice maker stops entirely in Summer of 2013. Is replaced after a month of waiting for parts of which the wrong part was sent. Ice maker continued to operate intermittently. Sometimes just a small of ice or no ice for a day. Finally in May after another service call, ice maker stopped working for about 4 days. Tech comes out and miraculously, it starts working again. A month later stops again and hasnt worked since.Contacted TransGlobal off shore call centre? And arranged to have an assessment to see if we needed a new fridge. Request declined and Maytag (Whirlpool) sent a tech out after another week. Service tech recommended new freezer. Waited a week for parts and arranged for Service tech to replace ice maker. Wrong ice maker part (for the second time) in less than a year.The latest trick from our possessed fridge is recent alarms from the temperature control. To say we are disappointed in this product, the retail experience, the quality of the manufacturing, the shipping procedures, the poor engineering and design, doesnt come close to describing the shoddiness surrounding this appliance and the service weve received.In conclusion, we are still awaiting an ice maker and are contemplating buying another fridge. What it is fair to say, we will never ever buy another appliance with their the Whirlpool or Maytag attached to it. Nor will we ever again buy anything from the Brick, or depend upon TransGlobal for repair services. Are there other Manufacturers and retailers out there who understand the meaning of service and quality. I certainly hope so. Otherwise Im going to invest in a good icebox.

Maytag XL Washer - My new machine is awful as well. Black clothes are smeared with I dont know what... looks like dirt. The wrinkle cycle doesnt work and the bedding cycle forget. Wish I read reviews... silly me.

Have had this problem since week 2 of ownership. Even on the lowest setting, food in the fridge section is freezing and Im having to throw out fresh produce weekly. Called Whirlpool service since under warranty. The very nice service man replaced the thermostat. Only a little bit better as the temps do not range quite as extreme - only 25-46 now! I am now waiting once more for a service appointment, at least 10 days. Plus in Massachusetts they will only give you a 8-5 service window. They give a robocall the night before and you are given a 8-12 or a 1-4 time for your appointment. I also have had trouble with the meat drawer falling out of the track because the upper shelf bows with the weight of a normal amount of stuff. Now the bracket has cracked and the meat drawer no longer stays on the track when it pulled out partially (such as when you need to reach in and get something). Same thing happens with the lower drawer on the right side although the bracket hasnt cracked.

Maytag Dishwasher with model number MDB6701AWS and Serial Number 41687985NJ.It does not clean dishes like it should. We tried every possible way to set control settings, and still the dishes come out dirty and spotted. Also, it doesnt dry like it should. We had a Kitchenaid before we moved and it worked great.

According to repairman this washer had a very common problem with what mine was doing. Water was gushing up out of the detergent, bleach, and softener dispensers and running out onto my floor. It was going to cost an arm and a leg to repair it. Mind you this washer isnt even 3 yrs old yet. Called the manufacturer and they basically told us that we should have purchased the extended warranty. We said if so many washers of that model had that problem they should have had a recall and fixed it for the customer. They said it wasnt a safety issue. I asked if falling on a floor covered with washer water and breaking a hip isnt considered a safety issue? No more Maytags for me.

I have bought 2 high end top loader models (Maytag centennial commercial), brand new both from Home Depot. The problem is Maytag is making them cheaper! Suspension is coal springs that suspends the load so if you fill it up, it lowers the drum to the floor, instead of a bottom bracket that supports the weight from lowering the drum to the floor! Second is the pulley system with the belt drive that wears through the plastic casing. You know some people dont have $900 or $1,000 for a machines that says commercial or heavy duty that only last 4 years when you have a family of six! Very very sad, will never buy another Maytag.

I have owned several dishwashers thru the years and my favorite is Maytag. Maytag is quiet, barely hear it running which is rare for a dishwasher, dependable and plenty of space for dishes, pot and pans etc. I wouldnt have any other but Maytag. Also has several options for dishwashing which is a big plus. Love Maytag!!!

Maytag Dryer is a complete piece of junk. First repair at 13 months, second repair at 15 months. I would throw it away but like a fool I bought the washer. Fingers crossed. Stay away from Maytag, total junk.

I wanted a small stove that did what a large/standard stove could do. I was worried that the heat would be weak but it cooks my food amazingly well. This stove has all the bling of a simple stove for a smaller price and size for my tiny house.

Dishwasher has been very dependable. Very reasonably priced and in over six years of service never had an issue with it. It’s a little on the small side for a large family but if you’re for less in your household-- works perfect.

I bought a Maytag laundry set (washer and dryer, models MVWC565FW and MEDC555DW, respectively), and I concur with the fact that this is the WORST laundry set I have ever owned. The clothes came out of the washer extremely dry and did not come out as clean as expected. In addition, clothes came out with strange spots, especially the dark ones. Now, we wash our dark clothes with fear of damage them. The dryer is also pathetic. I put in a normal load on high for 60 minutes, and theyre still very damp. Sometimes I have to repeat the cycle 2 or 3 times. When I compare it with my old laundry set, this is extremely disappointing. And to make things worse, the customer service department doesnt answer you. I sent them a mail, on February 2018, and a month and a half later, I havent heard back from them.

Purchased this dishwasher about 1 1/2 yrs ago. Luckily the first two times the control panel went out, it was still under warranty (within the first year). Now its gone out again! This is the third time! What happens is all the buttons will work except for the START and CANCEL. This has been the same issue every time. I tried restarting it, made sure there was not a leak that somehow was getting to the internal electrical components in the panel. I actually know the Maytag repairman by name. Its nothing like those old commercials where the Maytag repairman sits around and has all the time in the world because their products never break. Those days are over and these guys are busy working to fix these devices they label as dishwashers. Since my warranty is now expired, it was an unexpected $96 service call to tell me what I already knew - Its your panel again sir, it needs to be replaced. Well have to order one for you and itll be $265 for parts and labor plus the $96 service call = $361 repair for something that will likely break again in a few months. Never am I buying a Maytag product again.

Maytag HE Top Loader Washing Machine: I have regretted buying this piece of garbage since my first wash. This washing machine is complete waste of money and a piece of garbage. The Auto Sensing doesnt work and doesnt cover the clothes with enough water. When the deep water wash is chosen the clothes just float around but the agitator doesnt get them clean. Dont waste your money hoping it will work, because it wont. Maytag used to signify quality that is no longer the case. I am going to also give a bad review to the place I purchased this piece of garbage because all stores need to discontinue selling this junk.

Every appliance in my kitchen is Maytag. I went with Maytag because its made in America and now Im annoyed. The microwave died after about 5 years and since I had a spare, I have yet to repair it. I am just now removing the panel to see whats going on in the inside so I can replace whatever broken part is broken. The double oven I have Ive had to repair twice. Once I had to replace a capacitor on the board because it blew. It cost me zero to replace it as I have an old home theater system I part out. The next item was the control pad itself which I tried to repair but had to replace for $200. The dishwasher died after 6 years of use and after replacing the control pad (couldnt be repaired), it still didnt work. And I got a replacement from my wifes dad who was moving and had to get rid of his. Ultimate timing. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator instead of a Samsung like an idiot (which I suppose I am at this point). The fridge leaks water because the drain plug is jammed and it will take a lot of work to get back there to unjam it. I think Maytag wants to sell you expensive parts that are doomed to break after a couple years of normal use. They want to send repair guys out to your house to charge you to fix their junk. I cant wait to move and buy all Samsung products and do away with this Maytag relationship once and for all.

Maytag front loader model number MHWE251YG - Purchased washer and dryer 2 years ago. Purchased extended warranty from Lowes. Have had the washer worked on by Lowes repair service over 7 times. It stopped working again tonight. Full load of soaking wet clothes, it wont drain or wash anything. Just hums and then beeps just like all the other time it stop working.

My Neptune Maytag pair have been dependable. Great features. Now at 20 yrs old still kicking. Washer-front loader now has issue with fab softener going into wash correctly. Could be build up? Trying to self-fix. Very gentle with washing fine things. Hope I can keep going with them.

Do not purchase this microwave! I checked the reviews and thought they couldnt all have the same problem. THEY DO! This Maytag Microwave MMV4205DS1 has some faulty switch in the door latch mechanism. The warranty repair company came and adjusted the switches... and then fully replaced the switches. Each time it worked for about 30-60 days and then the same error would repeat itself. Never resolved... buying a different microwave. Be sure to check all reviews for repetitive complaints.This microwave will NOT function AT ALL with the door open/close message. Here are the details of our microwave. Purchased from Home Depot December 2015. First experienced the open/close door message around June 2016 (6 months after purchase). With the open/close door message, the interior light will not come on, the keypad will accept entries but will give the open/close door message as soon as start is pressed. Repaired under warranty August 2016. Repairman tightened and replaced one of the two fuses behind the metal plate. Also moved the door connectors as far as they would go to help with the door sensor issue. Worked until mid-December. Same message reappeared. Called repair company. Still under warranty. He order new switch parts and installed in January 2017. Microwave worked for 2 months. Then same exact door/open close message. Called repair company. Since we do not have an extended warranty, the parts would be covered but not the labor. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MICROWAVE or any other microwave that has reviews listing a door open/close issue. It will not go away! ...and you will be very frustrated.

This Maytag washer and dryer are far more superior than the units I had before. It is also made in USA which makes me feel like it will not fail me as soon as the others. The agitation when washing anything is something else I love. I will buy more Maytag in the future.

I called customer service to ask if there was some way that Maytag could assist me with repair of this like new dishwasher. When I said it was out of warranty and I had no additional warranty, I was told that a repairman could come out for $110 and diagnose the problem and that parts and labor would be extra. I explained that I had purchased Maytag because I saw commercials, for years, showing that Maytag repairmen had no work. She was very unhelpful and kept droning the same mantra, that a repairman could come out for the above charge. I was very angry and asked for the name and address of the President of Maytag so I could send a letter of complaint. I composed a letter, however: it is Thanksgiving time and I need my dishwasher so I made an appointment to have it repaired. I was told he would be out Mon. between 8 and 5. I asked for a more specific time and was told that I would get a call on Sat. with the time. Thankfully, no call came, because on Sunday, I read the reviews on this site and realized that Maytag was no longer a reliable nor a responsible company and I decided to save myself money and time and stress and just go out and buy a GE. So we will hand wash the dishes on Thanksgiving and buy a GE on Black Friday. This does not mean that I am letting Maytag off the hook. I intend to send my letter to Jeff Fettig at Maytag and also join in the class action suit. How very sad that the name Maytag has become just a name used to shill for defective and shoddy merchandise.

Bought DW 2 1/2 years ago. The control panel has a mind of its own, and today it will not even light up. How does a recall happen? I see lots of people having trouble with this model and others as well. A dishwasher should last much longer! Will never buy a Maytag again... and will recommend the same to my friends.

We have had the oven, a Maytag Gemini Double Oven model mgt8775xs02, for 3 weeks now and I am so upset. First off, I became violently sick from the oven when we first used it. I had a horrible headache and then nauseousness and then the worst stomach problems I have ever had. The toxic smells coming from the oven were too much for me. We had every window open. I looked online and found other people who reacted the same way to their new oven smell. But now we are on the 4th time using the oven. We did a self-clean and I thought that would help but no, it smells like someone is pouring gasoline into my home. I smelled it in pockets throughout my house. I have had the gas company out twice and a repairman. They all cannot figure out the problem. I looked online to see if other people were having a gas problem from this model and I am not finding it. It is horrible. I feel like I am being poisoned. I have not had a working oven in 2 and half years and I was so excited to get this oven and now my new oven is making me so sick. I am not sure what to do from here.

We have had 2 sets of Maytag washer & dryers. Our first set was a top load. When we bought the Neptune front load machines we gave the top load to our daughter and it still runs great after 14 years! Our front load W&D are 7 years old. We have a dog breeding business and when we have puppies the W&D pretty much run nonstop for 16 hours a day or longer. The blankets and towels come out like new every time!! The only complaint I have is the top of the front load machines seem to be plastic and scratched really easy. But the enamel on the top load still looks new! We plan on shopping for a new set this weekend passing these on to our daughter. We will buy ONLY Maytag for the rest of our lives!!

Bought in July 2015, brand new from Lowe’s or Sears. When working to its full potential it never cleaned clothing very well, had no designated spot for detergent or softener, just bleach. Just last 3 years and it’s a piece of crap that has to be replaced. Going to argue with the company to tomorrow to get them to replace the broken transmission which may or may not be considered part of the drive motor - all **. This is a very expensive machine that didn’t last a month beyond 3 years! The 10 year warranty covers the 2 most rugged parts of any washer... the agitator never truly cleaned my clothes and now it is fused to the wash basket and cannot even be replaced without being chiseled off. Worst machine, purchase, and brand ever???

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher at Home Depot in October 2009. Recently, it made noises for a few months of laboring, and finally would not start.Maytag said it’s out of warranty and wanted $125 just to diagnose. Took it to my shop for $60 to diagnose and they found a faulty control panel.

I purchased a new gas range in Nov 2013, but didnt use it until April because I was remodeling a house I had just bought. When I used it to cook Easter dinner, my meal was cold; the oven heats, then shuts off. Maytag has sent service techs 3 times. They have replaced the control board and the DSI module and ordered another part, for which we have been waiting over 3 weeks. Now they tell me it will be here next week. Maytag obviously cannot fix the NEW range, but they refuse to replace it. They deem it to be repairable though they cannot repair it. Customer service claims to be sympathetic, but will do nothing except schedule another service call and offer to extend my service warranty. What good is a service warranty if they cant repair the appliance? If youre smart, youll steer clear of Maytag and Whirlpool appliances. They are total CRAP.

I bought a Maytag Gemini double oven gas range 5 burners (model MGT8885XS000), even air true convection cooking. Within 4 months, 1 of the gas valves (knobs to turn gas on with) froze. I could not turn one of the top burners off. Maytag came out and fixed it. Three months later, another one froze. Again Maytag came out and fixed it. Our warranty ended. Over the next year, all five burner valves have frozen. I called Maytag, told them what happened. The most they could do for me was to give me the part half off. So I can pay $200.00 for parts and pay for a repairman to come out and fix it. The oven cost $2,000.00. I am still paying for it. Chances are if I repaired it would break again.

When my stackable washer finish its complete cycle, there is water left in the tub. You can manually turn the tub and you can hear water sloshing around.

I wrote the below to Maytag on their FaceBook page, of course havent heard anything back from them. Adding this on since I forgot about it, I have dogs and wash their blankets often, not that theyre dirty just for the dog smell. I have to wash them on the sanitize cycle which is an 1.5 hours long because if I use the normal cycle which is only 43 minutes they come out smelling exactly the same way they went in. I saw someone else post that their mothers front loader doesnt put in enough water so Im wondering if thats what happens to mine. So wish I would have checked the reviews before buying, thought I was getting a great washer buying Maytag.This is what I wrote on their FB page: I bought a Maytag front loading washer on 5/10/16 which was delivered and set up on 5/13/16. On Wednesday 10/19/16 it stopped working, so just over 5 months from the day it was installed. I called your company on 10/20/16 for repairs, they couldnt get here until today, 10/24, so 5 days with no washer. The customer service rep had all the details on what happened and Im sure passed them along to the repair company. He ran diagnostics, said it was the drain pump which was obvious even to me, but claimed to not have one with him even though they were in stock. Cant make it back until Wednesday, so two more days with no washer. He then proceeded to tell me that the dryer had to come off (stacked on top since the washer is a front loader) before he got back, that the warranty wouldnt cover two people coming out. So Im supposed to spend more money to hire someone to come out, take off the dryer and then pay them again to come back and put it back on. I called the customer service department again and was told they dont cover installation which stacking is. She said the warranty doesnt cover stacked units, as far as I can find that isnt stated in the warranty so please let me know where that is stated in writing. So I have a just over 5-month-old washer that needs repair already (bodes well for the future doesnt it??), will be without a washer for almost a week because the repairman didnt bring the most obvious part with him (maybe wanted to be paid for two calls?) and have to pay someone else for installation so it can be fixed. So wheres the Maytag man? I am not a happy customer and will be letting as many people know as possible. Ill be in the market for other new appliances soon, will sure as hell make sure theyre not made by Maytag, Whirlpool et all.

I bought this machine a year and a half ago. The entire drum and spin motor need to be replaced. Maytags warranty only lasted 1 year. I bought it at Home Depot, and also purchased the extended 5 year warranty. The extended warranty is as bad as the washing machine. I am now just 2 days shy of 4 weeks of trying to deal with both parties. Ive had to take my laundry in to have it done. The cost of the laundry, the cost of the machine, and the cost of the warranty is more than $200 more than what Home Depots Extended Protection Plan is willing to reimburse/refund. Home Depot does as much as Maytag when it comes to standing behind what they sell. An $800 washing machine only good for 18 months, really???

I bought this dishwasher since my last one, Whirlpool, gave out at three years (garbage motor from Korea) thinking this would be a quality product made in USA. Well after about 6 months into usage and under warranty, the circuit board went out! The repairman assured my wife that it was rare to replace it on a Maytag. Now 9 months later, out of warranty, the circuit board goes out again! I know what it is, I can fix it, but will Maytag work on fixing to get a better circuit board? No! The US government is a puppet to all these companies that keep getting bigger and fatter! I say buy foreign products! Enough of these fat companies buy the competition out and giving the US public no option. Preston E. Tucker said it best: You let the big guys push the little guys out of the game and you will end up with garbage for products! Do yourselves a favor, buy Bosch, LG or Samsung. I know their products are not better but just maybe, someone in these corporate offices will see that to sell in the USA, you have to sell quality again!

I have owned my Maytag Bravo Series less than a year. After 4 repair calls, I called again. The service department was rude and hung up on me. He accused me of destroying the washer on purpose. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. DO NOT BUY Maytag products ever.

I bought this machine in 2013 and within a year it had stopped going through any cycle. It turns off and I either have to restart a cycle or set the machine to rinse/spin. My clothes do not seem clean so I have begun handwashing them before putting them in the machine. I retrieve clothes and find some clothes dry. My towels have worn spots and threads pulled out. I cannot wait till I get a new washer because I am going to put this Maytag Bravos in the backyard and take a baseball bat to this hunk of junk.

Purchased a new Maytag dishwasher three years ago. After having it for one year the panel box no longer worked. Had to pay $300.00 to repair. Now half way through washing the dishes again no water will go into the machine. Only the first part of the cycle. I am sure it is going to be the panel box after reading other peoples problems with this machine. I will not pay to have it fixed this time. I will have to buy a new dishwasher. I will never purchase a Maytag product ever again. I have lived in my home for 40 years and never had a problem with any appliances. This would have been my third dishwasher in 40 years and as you can see it has not even lasted 4 years. I will inform my friends to stay away from Maytag.

We bought a Maytag range Nov 2013. My daughter has maytag appliance and stand by maytag. We grew up with maytag. But those days are no longer. It is not about quality, it is about how many did we make, how many did we sell. I am very disappointed with my range. I tried several times to use my upper oven, in disbelief my lower oven was heating. This happened so much that I touch to make sure that the Correct oven is on. I also have problems with my knobs for my burners. I could not turn off burner after finished cooking. We had to unplug range and turn off gas, if we did not do that the burner would have remain burning. This very uncomfortable for us.I still believe in maytag. I am sure we have not talk to the right person. There is too much at stake for the company, too many complaints are bad for any business. I too am a victim, very disappointed, I wont give up. I have a warranty with home depot and they have been great. It is not their product but they sold it. I hope everyone with a lemon will get problems solved. We only want what we pay for, even manufacturer when they buy other products they want quality as well, we all do. Hoping everyone will be able to get justice. Thank you.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Maytag stove purchased 15 years ago for about $500. Replaced mother board about 5 years ago which wasnt cheap, but otherwise, stove has performed with no problems and still looks and behaves like a new stove.Original review: Our 6-7 year old well cared for Maytag range oven recently stopped working. After a service call for diagnostics, it was determined the electronic module controlling the clock and all oven functions was dead. We were told by the Maytag service tech the module cost was 300$. That cost plus labor for less than an hour, plus the 60$ diagnostic visit came to almost 500$ which is close to cost of a new stove. The technician answered yes to my question, Do you replace a lot of these? He also said the cause may be power fluctuations making me think that surely there is a way to prevent this kind of failure. So, since the price seemed exorbitant, I wrote Maytag to inquire about causation/prevention, etc. I received a fairly prompt and polite reply with totally no explanation. I wrote another email with relatively the same results. I dont recommend buying an electronically controlled Maytag stove.

We bought Maytag Gas Double Oven MGT8800FZ only just two years ago and the top part of the range oven has already stopped working. It has not been overused as there are only two of us in the family and we use Crockpot regularly which do not require the range. It was fine for about 23months, but now it will not heat up at all We have been unable to get much help from Maytag so are not at all happy with this product. We chose Maytag as it is a replacement for an older Maytag oven and we have a Maytag fridge which will shortly have to be replaced. Not sure at all if we will replace it with Maytag going on our experience with our double oven.

We purchased the washing machine (MVWB400VQO) on July 9, 2009. Now we must buy a new washing machine as this one is apparently beyond repair, or else the repair costs will far exceed what it would cost to purchase a new machine. We are completely disgusted with its failure, as we paid $822.36, with the delivery fee and the tax. We expected that this machine would last for years, but here we are, 42 months later, having to again invest in a washer. Now that we have a computer and are able to browse your performance reports, we wish we had been able to read them before, in which case we never ever would have bought it at all.Yesterday it spewed water all over our basement, flooding things that should not get wet, providing an atmosphere for encouragement of mold and rust. The motor is gone as the housing is cracked, which was caused by debris getting into it, something that we could not have known or prevented. This is very poor design by your company, in our opinion. We called some repairmen, all useless as apparently the whole machine would have had to be completely dismantled at a rate of $84.00 per hour, and he could not tell us how many hours that would take, to say nothing of finding a new motor for the thing.We will never again buy a Maytag product as they are expensive with a too-short shelf life and there’s nobody who cares when you need help for something that should not have happened at all. I understand Maytag is really not the good old dependable Maytag we used to know and love at all, but rather is now owned by the Whirlpool Corporation, whose products we will never purchase either.I know why that lovable old Maytag repairman we used to see on TV is retired. Its because he could no longer stand the quality (or lack thereof) of the appliances that you are now producing. He is probably home, hiding his head somewhere and hoping nobody will recognize him. I purchased a Maytag 4-door model, a little over three years ago. A little over a year ago, I noticed small puddles of water around the bottom of my refrigerator on the floor. I blamed the dog for having accidents and shrugged it off. Well, after months of putting up with this I came to the realization that it wasnt my dog, so I started looking for leaks on the seal, etc. Thats when I realized that the entire floor of the freezer was one solid block of ice! So, I looked online for people that might be having the same problem. Sure enough, there are A LOT of us!!! Now to add insult to injury, I have to have a MAYTAG certified repairman come and look at what needs to be done! He only charges $85.00 just to come to my house!!!! Thanks MAYTAG, I spend $2500.00 for a refrigerator thats obviously defective, and still have to pay more to have it repaired!!!

We bought a Maytag Refrigerator, Model MSB27C2XAMSS from BrandsMart on 2/4/2015. Today, I made my 4th Service Call for the Ice Maker not making ice. The service department has replaced the icemaker, repaired it and still does not work. When I call for service I usually have to wait 5-7 days before I can have a technician come to my home. Also, the refrigerator door does not close unless you push it completely to the refrigerator, unlike most refrigerators that I have had. I would never buy another Maytag refrigerator and certainly will make an informed and researched decision before buying another refrigerator. I am truly dissatisfied with this refrigerator and would suggest looking for other brands.

After two years of light use of Maytag Washer 300 Series (MHWE300VW13), it stopped working. I bought Maytag Repair Plan Plus One on Oct. 8, 2012. I scheduled a service appointment on the 9th of October and was told the broken part needed to be backordered and that I should get the parts on November 5th. I have waited for almost one month. Today is November 6th and I received an email and was told I will have to wait another month! Am I in America? There are so many complaints about Maytag washers online. Can the consumer be protected? Am I complaining to the air here?!

WOW, I cant believe a group of educated professionals made, tested, and approved such a washing machine. What a piece of crap. I could put my clothes in a bathtub and let the kids jump up and down on them and they would come out cleaner. I would love to have a heart to heart talk with the engineers who designed this, to ask, What were you thinking. What a waste of money, and a once good company, that will soon be going out of business.

Ive had this Maytag for more than 15 years and it still works well. Its a basic fridge, no special features. Just keeps food cold or frozen. Freezer at top, fruit & veggie bins at bottom, cheese bin. No problems, good performance.

I purchase the Maytag dishwasher Model: MDB7749SBM from Home Depot in Plano Tx around June of 2013. The start/resume and cancel/drain button lights either flash or wont turn off and keeps trying to restart the wash cycle. I have only had this DW for 1 1/2 years. That’s pathetic! I went through the manual and tried everything it recommended but it didnt work. So far the unit still cleans dishes. Based on all the reviews I have seen on these Maytag dishwashers with the same issue, you would think there would be a recall. All the appliances in my home are Maytags and Whirlpools. Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company. Depending on how they handle this issue will determine which appliances I buy in the future.

I reviewed lots of reviews, and decided that the negative reviews ones were sour grapes or uninformed customers! WRONG! Do not buy this washer. I replaced a 16 year old Frontloader Bosch! Should have had the Bosch repaired, but wanted a topload for a change, new look etc. From day 2 the washer began to squeal during the early cycle and at the end as well. Maytag repair was out for an unrelated repair on another appliance. I told the tech about it and he suggested its brand new etc, give it time to settle in.Now 4 months in and another service call to tell me its nothing!! It squeals so loud I can not run it while in the next room. I have videoed it and sent it to the Maytag repair in Glenwood Springs, and he said I should load it only full enough to see the impeller at all times!!!! Forget a full load of work clothes or a pillow or blanket. Which is to be expected to be able to wash. He said I needed to spread the clothes out manually along the outer sides of the TUB only, prior to washing the clothes! not over the impeller. I am not kidding! This is a open tub, so the impeller is the little thing in the middle on the bottom. I advised him, I videoed the event and even with three socks in it for a test it still squeals like a (well you get the idea). Trying to get Maytag help, but nowhere. Matching dryer door hinge broke first week, it has been repaired. Not good quality at all for the top of line Maytag. Then Maytag Man must be busier these days, than of old.

Washer goes off-balance even when clothes are evenly distributed in tub. When it is turned off to rearrange clothes (which may have to be performed a couple of times), washer goes back to starting cycle which means more water. Afraid to do laundry unattended.

I bought this over the range Maytag microwave model MMV4205DH-1 5 months ago and today a hairline crack appeared alongside the door handle. I called Maytag to find out how I can get this repaired since, as time progresses, it will become worse due to using the handle to open and close the microwave. I was told this was a cosmetic warranty which expired after 30 days. They would fix it only if the microwave couldnt be opened. Apparently, the handle can become loose but as long as the door opens, they wont do anything.I bought Maytag because of their supposed reputation. Im so glad this happened with my $300 microwave as we were getting ready to replace our washer and dryer and were looking at Maytags. Good to know they dont back their products before I spend several thousand dollars on a washer and dryer. I will NEVER purchase another Maytag. My $120 generic microwave lasted 10 years and I gave it to my son and it is still going strong.

We purchased our Bravos XL Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in November 2012. We also purchased the three-year extended warranty. I just replaced the washer today, and definitely NOT with a Maytag. We only spent that much on the Bravos XL set as we were heading into retirement and wanted to update our appliances. Maytag has always had a decent reputation, so we decided on this particular set.This washer was a terrible purchase decision. The drain hose had to be replaced due to leaking. We handled that fine. However, just past the extended warranty period, the main bearing went out. Also, the transmission was going out, and the washer was spewing nasty black fluid all over from underneath. The repair was going to be a minimum of $750.00 just for the bearing and tub assembly, and the repairman was honest and said it wasnt worth it, to just replace the washer. We didnt even discuss the transmission issue. We were more than a little disappointed in the duration of life out of this washer. I had my other washer for 20 years plus. Thankfully, and hopefully, the dryer will remain in good working order for some time.Being a senior, this was not the expected lifetime I was after out of a major appliance. I dont need this sort of expense every four years, or less as Ive read on these reviews. On average I do 2 to 3 normal sized loads of laundry a week at most. Not good Maytag, not good. If there ever is a class action suit in regard to these machines, Im interested!

I sent an email to Maytag regarding my Maytag Bravos washer which I purchased two years ago at a cost of $1,100. I have started having problems with the machine last week. I kept getting the UL error code. I called a certified appliance person to come out to find out what was wrong. I do not believe any of the appliance people know what to do for these machines.First, I was told it was the control board that needed to be replaced, then I was told the motor had a crack in it and it needed to be replaced, and then the springs needed to be replaced. So they replaced the springs. This was a Tuesday afternoon. It worked fine until Wednesday of the next week and I started getting the F51 code. Just let me say if you cannot stand behind your parts on a $1,100 washer that is only two years old, then something is very wrong. I am in for $159 on repairs so far. Who knows what the cost will be to finally get the machine repaired.

Washer does not clean very well, clothes are left with spots. The water level is never comparable to the clothes thats in the machine, it causes me to lose a lot of water as well as detergent. This machine is the worst washer we have owned. Its also very noisy.

We purchased our Maytag washer and dryer 5 years ago... THE ABSOLUTE WORSE PURCHASE... on average 3 repairs a year after the first 6 months!!! Now the dryer is down. It takes minimum 2 trips out from a repair company to fix even minor issues. We are going to Sears today to replace both units. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG! I have a Maytag Bravos high energy machine that Ive only had for 3 years that has stopped working. After the cost of two diagnosis visits, estimated repair costs are $734 - more than I paid for the machine. As explained to me, these high efficiency washers are in their infant stage, especially when I bought mine in 2010. I feel I have no recourse except to buy another machine. It certainly wont be a Maytag or Whirlpool model! I did research the machines at time of purchase. I thought I was buying a top reputable brand. Guess I was wrong.

We have had this refrigerator since January 2011. All was OK for 18 months. Then the lid to the deli drawer fell off, the plastic bar that holds the two drawers up broke (weve had to use roof shingles to prop them up) and another one of the plastic pieces crumbled. Now the ice maker wont work and the refrigerator makes a loud ticking noise. There are only two older adults here and we have not treated this appliance roughly. After reading all the complaints on this site, Im wondering if any of it is worth fixing. My GE refrigerator worked for almost 20 years.

So disappointed in Maytag - I have a 2013 Bravos washing machine that if I had it repaired again (less than a year after I had it repaired the first time and just over two years since we brought it home) the cost is going to two times the purchase price. And because it is just out of warranty Maytag is doing nothing about it, even though they know there is a flaw in their design.

I am a WWII vet. I bought a Maytag dishwasher 4 years ago from Home Depot... Cost me $600 in total repairs. Maytag would not help. My son just brought it to the dump! At that same time I bought a Maytag bottom freezer from Home Depot... It has never worked right. Ice dispenser broken after 1 year, food freezing in fridge at any temperature... It just died! Maytag refuses to take any responsibility for THIS POS!They should be ashamed at the way they treated me. I am 94 years old, and have fought for our freedom, and was looking for one simple thing from this American company. Its called fairness! Maytag sucks! You have lost a lifetime customer. Purchased Maytag Bravos Washer in 2013. Used a little over a year and had to put it in storage for 2 years. Biggest piece of junk Ive ever had. Ive had cheap washers that lasted more than 20 years! Repairman said all diagnostics read normal. I put a very small load in to show him the water was not even wetting the clothes and only swishing them around a little. The shirt on top never got wet and was still in its same position when it went into the final spin. He said this is normal. He recommended I dump the machine and find an old NON Maytag model with the tall agitator!!! Ive tried using all the settings combinations; and the water level never gets all the clothes wet and clothes do not get clean. Will NEVER buy a Maytag product again.

I have called this company several times. Most of the time, they tell you that you need to call another department...which means you spend even more time on hold. This washing machine is only 3 years old. I will never buy another Maytag/Whirlpool product again!

Always have bought Maytag. 16 years on both washer and dryer. The newer models, which I dont have, locks the top of the washer after it starts. I would hate that. I dont care if they are stackable but I would want full size. I dont think I would pay extra for a front loader, but the only front loading washer I have ever owned is small and at our camp.

One baffle broke off in my washer. Very disappointed in this Maytag Model #MHWE201YW00 Serial #HL20102420. I purchased this in Sept 2012. Where the baffle was hooked on had sharp fins sticking out that ruined my 2 small rugs - shredded them.

Bought top of the line Maytag Commercial Technology washer because it was supposed to be the most advanced on the market. My experience has taught me that advanced does not equate to efficient, effective, and expedient. The washer settings for an average load (sheets or towels or clothing) is about 111 minutes per load (nearly 2 hours!!). To adjust to what would be a quick wash is about 25-30 minutes BUT the washing part of that is only about 5-7 minutes. I feel like a Pioneer Woman because I must spend most of a day to run four (4) loads of laundry (sheets, towels, dark clothing, white clothing). This is extremely frustrating!! I am sorry I purchased this product.

The Bravo HE Washer was a cheap piece of garbage and I am very surprised Maytag put its name on it. It broke down exactly one year after the warranty went. It did not ever clean clothes properly and all stains remained even when you spot clean first and double rinse. Maytag basically ripped us all off and somebody should start a class action lawsuit for this thing they call a washing machine! What a joke! I wont repair it. It will just fall apart again. Im not stupid. I know this is how they pay their employees doing house calls! So now, I have to go to garage sales and look for one made in the 1970s because that is when machines were made in the USA and things were built to last, not this crud. Maytag should be ashamed. It is time for them to close its doors. Sorry but its true. They are just crooks now selling crud that falls apart! They owe me a full refund.

We purchased both a new Maytag washer & dryer in 2011. Our dryer, Model #7000XG1 all of the sudden started thumping when we were drying our laundry. After we called a technician to come out, he stated we had a crack in our drum. How in the heck does that happen in 4 years time and only laundering for 2 people? Of course this steel drum should not wear out before the other parts, but it did. Since there is a backorder on the replacement drum, it makes you wonder if this problem is wider than it seems. Also, Maytag would do nothing for us other than offer us the purchase of a new dryer at a discounted rate good for only 7 days of their offer. Seriously, how about standing behind your product? And, then again, why would we be enticed to spend that kind of money on the same type of product that has flaws? Uh, duh Maytag or Whirlpool. Silly fools you are.

Like in a previous posting I also have a Maytag dishwasher, model MDB7749. Just this weekend we had our third control panel go up in flames. Thankfully the breaker hit and it burned itself out quickly. We had previously had one go out where it would just restart in the middle or near the end of a cycle. One other time, we heard the popping and saw the small black smoke come out from under the panel covering. This last time we were in the other room and heard the popping, and then smelled the burning. Aside from the panel issues, this has been a decent dishwasher. But at this point with a third repair I could have bought a new one. This is the only appliance I havent bought the extended warranty on and I regret it. Hopefully Maytag will add this to their previous recall.

Maytag Frenchdoor MFX2570AEM3 - Was initially really excited with this brand new fridge. We have not even fully paid it off, as we bought with credit at Home Depot, and it continuously leaks water from freezer! I have taken everything out, defrosted, spent about two hours pushing hot water through the freezer drain with a turkey baster and it was only about four days before I had a puddle on my floor again! We have bought quite a few maytag products before, but after this fridge, probably never again! If there is a recall or a lawsuit pending, please, someone advise me of either.

Never liked this machine. No flexibility in settings, ruins clothes, noisy and often shuts down. But main concern in the fact the whole top is rusting by the bleach dispenser and it leaks from the top all over. It is only 3 or 4 years old. Can not believe an expensive product like this can be so bad.

I hate my $500 Maytag washer that looks like a regular agitator washer but isnt & doesnt even fill up halfway with water. It definitely doesnt clean my clothes well enough either!

We bought a Maytag Dishwasher - Model #MDB4949SHW a year and a half ago at a Home Depot Location. We had previously had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 13 years of heavy use, with no issues or difficulties. At the time we purchased our dishwasher, there were various different brands on sale, including the one we purchased. The sales rep at Home Depot advised us that although we could get a similar dishwasher for the same price, that this particular model had a 10 year warranty. When I heard that, all I heard was 10 worry free years. MY MISTAKE. I could never have imagined that a company such as Whirlpool would advertise a warranty, that in the end is made up of nothing but false advertising.We ran a cycle during the Christmas holidays, and detected a funny smell of burnt rubber but didnt know what to make of it. I googled the issue and some people had had experiences with perhaps a plastic utensil or some other plastic, being burned by the heating element, so I figured that its what might have happened. I ran another cycle the next day, and the smell was much less prominent so I thought the problem had gone away. The next time we ran a cycle, the water didnt drain. We called in a repair person, and was shocked to learn that both the drain pump and main control board needed replacing.We got in touch with Whirlpool and low and behold, the only items they cover are nonsense items such as the racks, drum, tub...etc....in other words, the parts that are actually responsible for the running of the machine, are not covered, neither is LABOUR. Therefore, in my opinion, their warranty is trash and should not be relied upon under any circumstances. We purchased a new dishwasher just a year and a half ago, and are left with a heap of junk in our kitchen. Our options? Either spend $600.00 to $700.00 on repairs, possibly more, or buy a new dishwasher. When I asked if there was anything they could do to at least mitigate my damages, I was told....Sorry for your inconvenience...but do you have any other questions. I dont have any other questions...but I do have have a comment.... Make your products better....and dont print warranties that are utterly rubbish, false, and only serve to mislead the consumer. Needless to say, we will not be buying any more appliances from this company. Their one and only goal is profit for their shareholders with no regard whatsoever for the consumer. If I could give it ZERO stars, I most certainly would. :)

A dishwasher was on sale $500 and stopped working in under two years. It was a stainless steel Maytag. No one will help service it, and it seems unreal that a dishwasher should break down so very quickly. To not already work in under two years is astounding.

We bought a Maytag dryer and within two years the drum cracked. It will cost over $500 to repair it and then will the new drum be better? I bet not. Piece of junk.

Bought this because of the load capacity and it seemed like it would be a good purchase to help save on water. But worst mistake ever. The water level barely touches the clothes on top. It barely has any water whatsoever. All my dark colored clothes come out with residue. It’s disgusting and cleaning with Affresh does no good either. Very disappointed with the company.

I have the Maytag Gemini Double oven 5 burner stove. It is great! I use the smaller oven more than the bigger oven. Holidays and cooking are a lot nicer with my range oven. The turkey can be cooking in the lower oven while pies are baking in the smaller upper oven. I have had my range for a while now but I have not once had a problem with it.

I bought this washer three years ago. It is the worst washer I have ever owned. Washing a load of clothes, it goes off balance constantly, large load, small load...it doesnt matter. The smell because of low water usage is awful, and the clothes dont come out clean. I have to buy a new one and that really stinks. Maytag youre off my list for purchases. These days its quality that will keep you in business. We are too smart for this garbage.

I have had to put two 50 lbs sacks of feed on top of my Maytag Neptune Washer to keep it from walking in my washroom. Looks like I am not the only one with this problem.

Bought new glass top Maytag electric range. Only used oven 7 or 8 times when I was unable to close the door. Had to wait 12 days for Maytag repairman. Has to order new parts. Still without use of oven. Says its a known problem the hinges holding the door arent strong enough. Last stove 24 years old. Never had a problem.

Purchased dryer less than 6 months ago and now have an issue with the powder coating bubbling up and flaking off on the dryer drum. Maytag says not covered under warranty unless found in less than 30 days. If I had know that I would not have purchased the dryer.

I had a Maytag dishwasher that I purchased around 2005. I had no issues with it at all. Then, I got a notice that it was being recalled due to a fire hazard. My options were to either get a repairman to come out and fix it, or get a credit towards a purchase of a new dishwasher. I chose the second option. Even after getting a credit, the purchase cost was way more than my original dishwasher. I purchased the new dishwasher in June of 2010. Last spring (May 2012), I noticed a gap in my hardwood floors around the sink. A flooring rep looked around and said he would bet that theres a leak either at the sink or the dishwasher. I took off the front kick-plate to the dishwasher and discovered a wet spot. I monitored that area and discovered the leak coming from under the dishwasher (around the float switch). It wouldnt leak all the time, but every now and then, it would leak half to a full cup of water. I had the hardwood floor fixed (cost $350). At the same time, I schedule a service repair through Maytag. They sent a rep from a local repair company (Convenient Appliance Service, Inc.). The service rep couldnt identify the cause of the leak but said it was more than likely the seal around the door. So, I paid another $160 to get the repair done. I monitored the leak for a week and had no problems, so I put the kick-plate back on. In September 2012, I noticed a wet spot in front of the dishwasher. I took off the kick-plate and discovered that the dishwasher was leaking again. This time the leak was worse. It would leak 1 to 2 cups of water during a wash cycle. I called the repair company and they came out free of charge to take a look at it. The service rep said the float switch had gunk build up in it. He cleaned it out and said that should fix the problem. I monitored the area for 2 weeks and everything seemed to be fine. Last week (March 2013), I noticed some gaps in the hardwood flooring around the sink and dishwasher. I pulled off the kick-plate and discovered a wet spot. I ran the dishwasher and discovered that it leaked a ton of water (over 4 cups). I contacted the repair company that came out last time, and they said they would have to charge me $100 plus to come out and take a look at the problem. The rep recommended contacting Maytag. I contacted Maytag and they said I would either have to pay $129 for a service call (not including cost for parts), or $269 to get covered under their Repair Plus 1 program (everythings covered and it adds 1 year of warranty my dishwasher). I asked at what point Maytag would replace a dishwasher. The rep said when it is deemed unfixable. Other than that, they just keep coming out if I have issues. Part of me thought I need to cut my losses and just rip out the dishwasher and get a new one (cost somewhere around $700). But I went with the Repair Plus 1 program in hopes that they can resolve the issue. But Im definitely going to have to get the hardwoods ripped out again. It looks worse than before. It’s probably going to run another $500.

Such a horrible and expensive kitchen purchase. The stainless looking pieces are either fake or very poor quality - they scratch so easily. After the first year of use the top of the stove looked like it was 30 years old. The oven glass is extremely hard to get at to clean - you have to remove very finicky screws that dont go back into place easily. Oven temp is questionable and it takes a very long time to heat up. I would never recommend the Maytag Gemini oven to anyone.

When I went to whip down the small shelve under the knobs, I cut my finger on the sharp metal. Was told that is the oven vent. Checked out your instruction book and found NO mention on that being a danger and to take care when cleaning. If I had been informed of that sharp metal piece I dont think I would have looked at your stove. The metal has razor sharp edges on both sides making it almost impossible to get too close to cleaning it. That shelf is a nice place to collect dust, grease and food boil overs and now I have to be extremely careful about cleaning. Thanks to someones not thinking in their designing. The stove is what I wanted other than that one fault.

Need to keep cleaning washer otherwise it leaves white marks on clothes. I used vinegar but that didnt help. Used the wash cycle and that didnt help. I found a washer cleaner and it works great. Overall performance of washer is fine but I would be hesitant on purchasing another Maytag Bravo washer only for this reason.

Good deal, recommended by dealer friend. Front loaders, high efficiency, 12 years or so. Finally needs new bearings on the washer. Replaced electronic board 5 years ago. High repair costs would be the worst which is related to low-quality construction. I expect my next pair to last as long as the last 1. Full size, not stackable but oversized drums. Relatively low water usage, lots of different settings for different loads for washing and drying, automatic water level and wrinkle guard.

Last August I bought the Maytag Bravos XL. I have had 3 repairmen try to fix my problems with it and they cannot. The problem is, they cant fix an appliance that isnt designed correctly! Without water, one cannot wash. Dont be mislead that the huge area inside can be used for large objects like sheets and comforters. This machine is MUCH harder on my sheets and comforters than my old machine with a center agitator. I have shredded rugs, holes in sheets, black lines on clothes and a chlorine dispenser that puts spots on everything. The detergent dispenser hardware is rusted as well. Folks if this machine was an automobile, IT WOULD BE RECALLED!
