I just saw that there had been a class action lawsuit settled in 2005 for the Maytag Neptune front load washer and I was never notified as an owner! I have this crummy product and have been living with it for more than 10 years! I just scheduled a repairman to replace the moldy gasket (for the second time) and the noisy pump, and a latch that has to be slammed for a sum of $438. What a crock. I was told this was a top of the line model when I purchased it for $999. Ive never had such a piece of junk before in my life. I run loads of bleach weekly to control the mildew.

I am having the same problem with the sheet of ice forming on the bottom of the freezer and leaking water out every week or so. It is getting very frustrating. After reading all these reviews I am realizing it is a manufacturing flaw and think there should be a recall. We have model MF12269VEQ3.

This dishwashers start button stopped working after 1 1/2 years. We did not buy the Extended service warranty. So we are responsible for the service call and the replacement of the control panel. Ridiculous. I called Maytag to file a complaint and they never returned my call. I will NEVER buy Maytag again. There are enough problems posted to know better. This company should be ashamed!!!

We purchased a Maytag Neptune series washer/dryer set approximately 5 years ago. This is the 2nd time in 5 years that we were told by our local repair person that the drum of the dryer got bent out of shape. This is from normal use and due to a bad design on their end. Maytag refuses to foot the bill (about $350-$400) as it is out of warranty.

I purchased this dishwasher at least 12 years ago and it still works. However, after that much use some of the buttons no longer work. It has china, economy, regular, rinse only and extreme wash features.

So far we have replaced the belt. Clothes have never come out clean. High Efficiency... Yeah, we have to put it on extra rinse to rinse all the soap out or wash twice because the clothes just do not get clean. Now it stops right before it drains after the wash. So I had to pull out clothes and use pitchers to get water out before we could tip forward and pull hoses to drain the rest. We checked hoses and connections. All lights work, it did a wash cycle, and again stopped before the drain. Really. All I got was “Didnt you take out the extended warranty?” Well, No I did not. Why would I consider the fact that MAYTAG would need repairs within the first 3 years. Its not like I do a lot of wash. Or have big bulky items. I have a laundry mat close by for that stuff, because it wouldnt get it clean anyway. Never again…

My Maytag refrigerator, model number mff2557heb, serial number 10375839gv, was purchased in 5/2005. Two weeks ago, this refrigerator stopped working. I called the Maytag technician and then right away came to my house and find out it is the compressor that needs to be replaced. He told me to search if it is under warranty. I searched in the internet Maytag compressor warranty and I found it and then called the Maytag representative. I told them I have found in their website that compressor of this Maytag is covered for 10 years but labor is not included. Then they asked me to fax it. I faxed the copy on 6/20 and they responded on 6/22. He said they received the copy and he said, Yes, it is covered for 10 years but you will shoulder the labor. So to make the story short, this Maytag representative scheduled Friday, 6/29 for the Maytag technician to fix my refrigerator. My husband did not go to work yesterday, 6/29, Friday, so he will be home for this Maytag tech. Maytag tech came at about 2pm yesterday and when he confirmed that it is the compressor that is the problem, he asked for the warranty paper. And when my husband present the proof, the copy of their warranty coverage that came from the Maytag website, he refused to work with my refrigerator because he said the one in the internet is not valid. It is really upsetting because I faxed the copy of it to them on 6/20/12 and they honored it. Thats why they arranged the technician to come to my house and then my husband did not work for them to work with our refrigerator and then asking me $79 for just saying that it is not covered by the warranty. I even gave them the model number and the serial number of the refrigerator so they can verify if it is covered. He said yes 10 years warranty on the compressor. In fact, two employees that I have spoken to both agreed that it is 10 years coverage except for the supervisor named Rachel. Her employees agreed to 10 years based on the paper that I have faxed them and it came from their website and they dont want to honor it after they sent the technician to my house. Bought this Range in March of 2019. I really liked the large oven in it. Right away I noticed that the oven didnt back things very uniformed and very quickly, so a lot of burnt cookies. But I adjusted to that, not super happy about it but it was fine. Tuesday while cooking the cooktop suddenly went out. I had been smelling something strange the last couple of times I had cooked with the oven and cooktop on so I just assumed it was the oven, it did need to be cleaned. Well I ended up pulling the range out from the wall and taking the back metal piece off...the wire running to the cooktop was burned, like 3 inches up the wire and also the wire coming into that wire on the range cord. Just destroyed. I was shaking. My house could have burnt down.I just attempted to call Maytag, knowing my warranty is up (1 year) but thinking they should know about this issue. I was told that they would need to send out a certified tech would need to come out to access the situation...ok...when are they available and she said the 29th of December, really? How many people can go 3 weeks with no oven? I take care of my 93 year old neighbor and make dinner every night. So obviously I cannot wait. I have a tech coming today to fix this fire hazard. I was told there was nothing that can be done as it was not under warranty anyway. What so your certified tech was going to come out for free and then charge me what I probably paid for the range to fix it.

Maytag XL Washer - My new machine is awful as well. Black clothes are smeared with I dont know what... looks like dirt. The wrinkle cycle doesnt work and the bedding cycle forget. Wish I read reviews... silly me.

I purchased this washer in 2010. It has broken 4 times since purchase for the same reason. I was told by the appliance repairperson (which Maytag referred me to last time it broke on 03-11-11) that the manufacturer does not replace the machine until after it has broken down a 4th time. Now, the warranty has expired (in 09-11), and it has broken down again for the same problem - water wont fill. Sherry at call center informed me my machine does not qualify for replacement. Then, she would not give me a number or contact info for corporate office so I could forward my complaint. This machine is only slightly over a year old. I have had nothing but problems with it. I want a new machine, or at least unlimited repairs for the recurring problem. And I should not have to pay for a warranty that costs almost as much as the machine itself when Ive already paid for the machine, and at least an equal amount to the cost of the washer in repair bills just to keep this lemon on the road. I want a number and a name for someone that will listen. I may be part of the shrinking middle class, but I am a customer, and I should be treated right. Please help me.

It went bad, then I called a technician who replaced the compressor. After a few months, it broke down again after I had bought new parts for it. I was very dissatisfied with how the refrigerator was built. I spent lots of money on it, and it wasnt worth it.

I bought a Maytag washer in Sept. 2018 because the company had a reputation of making quality products that did not need repairs. I was wrong. Because I live alone so at most I washed two loads a week, so the company cannot say it had been overused. After a little more than a year I notice at times the wash cycle took too long. One time I tried the 2 rinse cycle and it would not quit washing. A repairman reset the computer to factory settings (he was at the house repairing a refrigerator) and it worked for a few months trouble free before dying. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product since the company did not stand by its product.

Same problem as all the others, the dishwasher stopped working. The dishwasher is less than three years old; for a two-adult household. The control panel just stopped getting power. After multiple calls to Whirlpool/Maytag, all they will do for me is document my complaint. Im now out $167 to get this thing running with no guarantee that it wont happen again, as well as the fact that this should not have happened in the first place. I didnt misuse my dishwasher. It just stopped! I think there needs to be a class action lawsuit since the manufacturer will not stand behind this obvious defect.

The freezer leaks water onto the floor in large pools. Had it repaired, two weeks later, still leaks. Very unhappy with the performance of the bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator.

Bought a Maytag Washer & Dryer and after only 4 years the front panel went...cost to replace part only $653.55. After expressing concern about the price Maytag cut the cost of the part in half - now installed $475.00. Disposable dryer. Choked on it and decided to go ahead with the repair. Part was to be in in a week and it is now been a month. Maytag/Parts supplier no idea where the part is and doesnt return phone calls. Have to use the laundromat (family of 5). More money out of pocket. Not to mention time. Called Maytag again to complain about the service and having to pay more money out of pocket to use the laundromat. They basically told me, Too bad. Have used Maytag appliances over the years and always been satisfied but the company is clearly going downhill.

I cant warn you enough NOT to buy this design flawed machine. Ive only owned mine two months from Home Depot, the install was a nightmare and now due to a poor design flaw, if you miss loose coins or anything in pockets it will get trapped between the drum and the tub causing rattling and noise during spin cycle. Guess what? Service calls EACH time this happens. This is nothing more than a $750 piece of junk. I feel like its marring the whole feel of my new house. M1BXXLZYB00 - This is the worst appliance I have ever owned and I am 56 years old. Very noisy, freezes my produce and actually anything in the refrigerator. Yet the freezer wont freeze popsicles. Had 2 service calls on the fan and or fan motor in the first 6 months. Now 2 years later we have replaced 2 compressors and had to pay 200.00 labor to have installed. Now the compressor is out again not even 30 days after the first 2. Whirlpool wants to send another compressor and the poor repair guys are suppose to do it for free now because it is within the 30days. The offered me to buy another refrigerator with prices of 699.00 and 519.00. My fridge in the garage is way more dependable than this one and I have had for 10 plus years with no problem.

Dont buy this machine. Although it is an HE machine and supposed to save on water, it does not give enough water to at least cover the clothes. I had repair come in and they changed the computer but no improvement. The cycles determine the water amounts not the type of clothes you are washing. So if I only a few things I use cold water wash, if I have a half load I use deep water wash and have to add water to it. Its ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and get an LG. I wish I had.

We have had washer/dryer Bravo Series and been nothing but horror stories. Washer bounces all over room to point hoses come out and flooded my laundry room and foyer and garage. It takes over 1hour 45 minutes to do loads sheets which is 2 sheets 2 pillowcases. The repair man told me that takes that long due to MY sheets are dirty. I have been married 46 years and never heard that ever!!! The dryer is just as bad, takes over hour and half to dry sheets and towels almost 2 hours to dry. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG ANYTHING. The person who said needed hurricane straps to hold washer is something I agree with. Just a horror.

Bravo XL - I purchased this dryer in June 2012. In October, the first thermostat was replaced, again in February 2013 and two within a week from March 8th and March 12th. I was told it was my vent. However, the appliance continually showed venting good. I was told to have it cleaned. I did and it is documented that there was great air flow before and after and only a handful of lint collected. I have spoken with Whirlpool and no one will have the integrity or courage to say it may be a faulty unit. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. I had spent nearly $5,000.00 in Whirlpool appliances in June of 2012. I feel they will cover any issues until the warranty is completed, and then the problems are mine and at my expense.

I bought the Bravos glass top washer. It was always loud. I have a friend who had a cheaper model and his was loud too. My washer barely lasted two years before tearing up. It cost $85 to tell me it would be over $500 to fix it. I paid over $600 so it wasn’t worth fixing. Lid lock went out and gear went bad.

Hi we bought Maytag washer & dryer from Lowes last year. Since then it burned every single fabric silk to cotton, tops, pants and sheets to comforters even on delicate setting, costed me thousands of dollars. We are totally wasted our time and money by buying this product. I would never recommend to anyone. Ive had my washer and dryer since 2007. We purchased a new vacation home and it was included. I used the HD washing machines at my daughters, though hers was a front loader from a different company. Im unhappy with mine. Would not purchase one again. I find my clothes arent clean and my kitchen clothes and towels always have a residue on them. I now wash everything on warm, use the proper amount of soap and have to do heavy load cycle. Im still not happy, but it beats buying a new one.

Bought brand new coin op washer and dryer. Washer had problem from day one. Took in for repair. Maytag warranty covered parts, no labor. Cost me $100.00 on brand new $900.00 washer. Last money they will ever see from me.

My Maytag dishwasher is very easy to use. Saves on money and time. I enjoy it and it have made my life so much easier. When you cook for two you can be out the kitchen in no time.

It would cost $150 for the part, plus the service calls make it around a $350 experience. The only choice is to pull the machine out, or buy a 5-year warranty for another $318.56. Grand total for your marvelous high quality Maytag that lasts only 7 years? Around $1,000. I am so sad, the company used to symbolize quality but now when I see the logo, I think of landfills.

I have Maytag Model MGT8885XS03 Gas Range. I bought it in 2014. The surface burner valves, which regulate the gas flow, are a bad design. One valve got stuck and needed replacement within warranty. Then another valve got stuck about a year ago and the third one got stuck about a month ago. I am going to replace these two valves now. My friend, who is helping me replace, has similar gas range. He also needs to replace a valve. His range is about a year old.

My Maytag microwave MMV4205BAB gave out this a.m...again. I bought it in 2008. The repairman has become a close personal friend because he visits so often. In Jan. 2012, I bought an extended warranty, which expired in Jan 2013. This is the best example of planned obsolescence Ive ever seen. We wish we had kept our GE with the broken handle, which we had for 20 years with no other problems than that. If you are wise, do not buy Maytag.

My old washing machine was about 25 years old but still doing a fantastic job getting the laundry done. When the dryer died we decided to replace both machines so theyd match. I had been setting money aside for years in preparation for this purchase. Ive only had them for two weeks and I stay awake at night wondering what GENIUS decided you can get clothes cleaner in a tablespoon of water than you can in an adequate amount of water?! My old washer could wash a load of laundry in about 20 minutes. Again, what GENIUS decided taking over an hour to wash a load of laundry in a tablespoon of water was a better way?! What working woman would choose to double the time needed to do laundry and then not feel confident that the clothes are clean?!!! Bought a Maytag microwave model MMV4205DS and I too have had an issue with open/close door display. Just like other reviews Ive read it started out once in a while for the first year then began happening more often til it stopped working by the second year. I also read someone asking why there isnt a class action lawsuit? Good question. Way too many bad reviews on same issue. If I knew how and if we could start one then I would. Thought we could trust a company thats been around for so many years. Wish we had check into it more and I have learned from other products to do just that from now on. Have a backup microwave by GE from WalMart weve had for 10 yrs still working.

I had a Maytag washing machine replaced under warranty back in 2011 via Maytags Extended Service Plan. This took me several months to get done because of back and forth issues with Maytag not wanting to honor the replacement. Executive Support had to get involved after I wrote a complaint on this site. When they replaced this, they sent me forms to extend my warranty, which I did. They never changed the model or serial number so Ive been paying for 2 years now for an extended warranty on a machine I do not own.The new washer broke and I called in for service on 11/18/13. Active Appliance was sent out, said it was an easy fix but they needed to order a part. On 11/20/13 they contacted me to tell me I needed to speak to Maytag because my Model/Serial didnt match with my warranty records. I double-checked these and called Maytag Extended Service and was told that I would need to speak to sales at 866-730-6094. I spoke to someone named Lindsey there who told me that I would need to send a letter in to cancel my policy and request a refund for the 2 years Id been paying for a non-existent unit and that they could start a new policy for me and get a service order in without issue. My call was disconnected during this and when I called back, I was told to call back in the morning to get back to Lindsey because the office was closing and they couldnt do callbacks.I called back on 11/21/13 and spoke to Sam who verified that the letter was needed to cancel and refund but that I would have to pay for the repair to the washer myself and theyd tack on the cost of the new warranty onto that bill so Id be covered AFTER THE FACT. Because the unit wasnt covered under warranty, Id have to cover the costs myself and it had been MY responsibility, not theirs, to make sure that the correct model/serial was on the coverage.Maytag sent me the forms and I would expect them to have added the new information on it...not send me forms with my original washing machine information. Especially as this had been escalated to Executive Support and the person I dealt with there had gone over everything to make sure it all got handled in a satisfactory matter. So for now, Im waiting for a callback from the original rep, Lindsey, but Maytag tends to Stonewall and not return calls so Im dreading how long this entire process is going to take and cost.

Re: refrigerator model # MBF2258XEB1. The above-referenced refrigerator was purchased in 2011 from Home Depot. We paid over $1,000.00 thinking we were buying a good product. Right now the bottom freezer is working but the refrigerator is not cooling. An appliance repairman cleaned out the defroster part, but that did not resolve the problem. He said it was a compressor/valve gas line problem. I cannot afford to spend hundreds of dollars to have this repaired. Even though the warranty has expired, I believe that Maytag should pay the cost of the repair. This is VERY inconvenient and frustrating.

Bought these in March of 2016. Got a 3 year warranty. In Feb 2019 the dryer burnt out the switch. Just by a hair it was covered. Now started working only on one cycle. The Washer with a 10 year limited warranty just stopped working out of the blue. ONLY 4 years old. Seriously???? during the Coronavirus outbreak!!!! I am beyond upset with this manufacturer. Geez my Kenmore washer and dryers lasted 17 years!!! My Whirlpools lasted 21 years!!!! What kind of junk are you putting on the market???? We purchased Maytag Dishwasher MDB5601AWW/46171101NP when we built our new home. In the last several months, water was leaking out onto the floor. We called Maytag and they told us there was a recall on the heater element and that they would send the part out. We made sure they knew the reason for our call--TO REPLACE THE GASKETS!. Maytag contacted a local authorized repair person. When they called to set up appointment, my husband reminded him about the gaskets. The guy showed up without gaskets, saying Maytag didnt put it on the order! We called Maytag to set up another service call. The guy showed up again today without the gaskets. We were told they had to be ordered and that he would have to come out again! Three service calls for one issue! Aside from this, the circuit board has never worked right. We push the correct buttons, but never know what kind of cycle we will get. We learned to live with it. Our bottom racks are melted as well as the sides of the dishwasher. Now that we know about the heater element being defective, this may be the cause of the bad gaskets and melted racks. It will cost almost $300 just to replace gaskets, and yes, we have to pay a service call for it when it could have been done in the first place. We called Maytag to complain and were told that replacing the gaskets always takes two service calls--one for diagnosis and the second to put in part. They said they dont take the customers word for it when we tell them whats wrong!

I purchased my Bravo (MVWB300WQ2) washer a little over two years ago. It took all day to wash some loads due to leveling problems. Example, you could not put more than two bath towels in at a time, even with the towel setting. The washer would stop and you have to re-position the towels. You cannot leave because it stopped so often. Also, the washer makes an extremely loud noise during the spin cycle. My most recent problem, it does not complete the spin cycle. My clothes are still very wet. I refuse to call service. Its just too costly. It would be the third time in less than 3 years. However, the first time was within the year warranty (no charge). The basket had to be replaced - it was ripping my clothes. During my second service call, the technician advised me in purchasing an extended warranty. I paid for the service call and for a one-year extended warranty which just recently ended. The washing machine is not worth paying for service again. I am going to purchase a new machine instead!

Bought a Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749AWM2 on 02 Jan 2012 with no issues whatsoever until three days ago when it stopped working altogether and after doing a series of tests I discovered that Im joining a large and growing list of owners with the same problem. I never have been a fan of digital controls due to their vulnerability to temperature and humidity conditions or high impacts for that matter. Ive owned many dishwashers of various brands for upwards of 10 years on average each. This is the first one not equipped with analog/mechanical controls. Im hoping I can still find more of that type.

I have a Maytag washing machine (MDBTT53AWW1). The total cost is $524 for machine plus installation. And the cost of yearly repair on this machine is $300.I purchased this machine a year and 10 months ago in January 2010. A few months ago, the control panel started to only light up partially but the washing machine continued to run. A few days ago, when i tried to turn on the machine, it would not work--the control panel was no longer lighting up. I called a repair man recommended by Lowes, and after explaining the problem over the phone, we scheduled a time for him to come (ten days later was his first available opening!).Ten days later with a broken washing machine and doing all the washing by hand, the repair man came late. When I made the appointment, I was told he would come anytime from 8 to 11 a.m., and of course, he did not show up until almost 1:00 pm. When he finally arrived, all he did was look at the model and determined instantly that the reason our control panel was no longer working was due to a faulty design. This dishwasher allows the steam to escape through a small vent placed to the left of the control panel. The steam inevitably causes a short circuit, meaning that this will be a reoccurring problem every year.He did not dismantle anything and was in my home for no more than 5 minutes. I was told the cost of a new control panel would be $141 plus his labor fee of $137. So all in all, if you purchase a Maytag appliance, the initial cost is irrelevant. If you purchase a Maytag appliance, you will spend almost $300 yearly to maintain it--basically the cost of a brand-new washing machine.Something needs to be done; this is unacceptable. The least Maytag could do is provide all of us, fools who believed in their product and thought that they were of quality, with a free10-year warranty for this faulty machine which is pre-determined to break down every year as a result of their poor design planning.Cost aside, what kind of world are we living in that major appliances are made to last just one year and then are to be thrown in the dump? There is no way I will pay $300 for the next ten years to maintain a product that is made to break. That is wasteful and disastrous for the environment. Shame on you, Maytag. You will be filling landfills around the country with your terrible products, and the world will be a worse place for it.

Bought Maytag dishwasher model number MDB894995BB3 serial # F41103073. About 2 months out of warranty the control panel went bad. Contacted Maytag. After quite some time they agreed to pay for parts. After some more conversation they also agreed to pay service and labor. This was on the first day of August and Maytag scheduled a repairman for the sixth of August. When he arrived spent five minutes and said he had to order parts. The control panel I had already told them was bad. Now here I sit waiting for part to arrive. No more Maytag or Whirlpool for me.

I purchased my 2nd Maytag Neptune washer in 2005 to replace an early Neptune that was complete junk. This one worked OK until this year when it began to make awful noises. After research, I decided it was the bearings that failed. I took the unit apart to get to the bearings and found out the entire outer tub must be replaced not just the bearings, at a cost of $515. What lousy engineering, the bearings dont come out of the housing. No wonder Maytag repairmen are so bored. There is nothing to fix, you just buy a new washer. I wont buy Maytag this time.

The lid on this washer cracked twice. It is made out of plastic and is now discontinued. The lid cracks no matter how gentle you are with it. It is just over a year old and will have been serviced twice. The lid has to be ordered and you have to wait for a week. Maytag will not offer a new machine.

Bravos XL washer- This is probably the worst purchase I have ever made, first off, at $1000 it was a pricey purchase however, I chalked it up to it will last many years without issue. After only 3 years, the unit leaked water and was so loud you couldnt stay indoors while it was on spin cycle. The bearings and seal were completely shot and needed replacement, after the sticker shock of having a good repairman fix the problem I decided to tackle the job myself. (Thank you YouTube). All was well for the next 2 years until it all happened again. Maytag is junk and will never get another dollar from me-ever! A Speed Queen TR5 now sits where that piece of crap used to reside. BUYER BEWARE!

I purchased MVWB955FW (washer) and MEDB955FW (dryer) from AJ Madison and the units were delivered in December 2017. After using the washing machine 5 times the glass lid spontaneously shattered putting glass into the machine and all of the clothes. I called Maytag for a replacement/service and they had to reschedule as the lid wasnt in yet. A week later, I followed up with Customer Service only to find out that the replacement lid was also shattered. They didnt make a replacement lid without glass (not sure why you need to watch the clothes being washed). I was told that there were no replacement lids available anywhere. I asked about getting a replacement washer and was told couldnt do that.I asked them to pick up the units and refund my money, which they promised. It is now 2 months since the original call for service and I continue to have to follow-up with them (never get a call back) and STILL have the broken units in my house. I have since purchased a replacement set (LG) and waiting for my refund. I will NEVER do business with Maytag/Whirlpool again.

In 2016 I purchased a matching Maytag washer and dryer. The reason why I purchased it because I was in a house and I no longer had a washer and dryer and I refuse to go to a laundry mat at the city to go to Nebraska Furniture Mart and it was a number of different washer and dryer combinations available. I had previously own a Samsung matching washer and dryer and it worked fine, my Maytag has dame of the same features and works great.

Control panel start button failed 55 weeks after purchase and installation. Model no. MDB4709PAW. Repair costs for labor and part totaled $298. I have since found out that Maytag dishwashers with this type of control panel are faulty and fail often within first 3 years. Purchased at Johnnies Appliance, Glendora on 6/14/14 NJ; ticket no. **.

I, too, have had major problems with this Maytag refrigerator! We have experienced everything from a malfunctioning ice maker, flashing control panel, overloaded compressor, erratic freezer (freezes much of the fridge contents), and doors not staying closed/inadvertently popping open. We have owned this fridge since 2007 and have repaired the ice maker and the freezing problems on our own dime. When the clicking sound woke the entire house up at 5 am, I finally decided to post! I realize that appliances are not perfect, and that Maytag had the best of intentions when designing and producing this product, but what really infuriates me is that Maytag has known about this widespread inherent problem since late 2006! Why no recall? Why no notice? Why no assistance? When I called the customer service line this morning, the representative acted like shed never even heard of this fridge having problems - yeah, right. All you have to do is Google the model number or just Maytag fridge panel flashing and clicking problem to discover thousands of similar complaints. I do not fault Maytag for manufacturing a less than perfect appliance, but I do hold them accountable for adequately repairing/replacing such a rampant and unsafe (compressor overload) product! Maybe it is time for a class action. Something needs to be done to protect the consumer from a company that is so slow to correct a long-standing and potentially dangerous problem!

I purchased a Maytag Bravo HE washer and dryer! The biggest mistake I ever made! Three inches of water is max for a load of clothes! This is max full or actually empty. The washer was a third full of clothes and only the bottom layer was wet when it went into rinse! After pulling a calf I really wanted the top pants washed. Nope. Went in dirty and dry to the rinse cycle to spread the bacteria throughout the load. The soap was still laying on the dry clothes on top. Repair guy spent two hours and couldnt get enough water to at least dampen all the clothes in the wash cycle. I would like to see how much cow afterbirth bacteria was still in clothes. I didnt buy a machine to dry wash my clothes! I have asked for my money back on the pair through the performance warranty. Well see! I am not giving it a star as it doesnt earn one!

I purchased a Maytag made by Whirlpool in China about two years ago. The timer went out about nine months later. It went out again about 3 months after that and I paid to replace two sensors in addition. The washer still stops during a cycle at various times; it might be pausing or spinning or filling. When it finishes washing, sometimes it refills and leaves everything wet. I purchased from Deweys in San Clemente and they have tried to service but this is a real lemon. I will never buy anything again made by Whirlpool. I will research and find out what companies have been bought by them so as to avoid this. I note online that there are several hundred complaint problems about Whirlpool so they had to buy a company with a good reputation and ruin their product.

We purchased a Maytag Centennial line washer (Model # MVWC400XW0) and paid a little more hoping that it will last longer than a normal washer. After just 14 months, the washer breaks and we are forced to buy an extended warranty from Maytag for $300. The warranty price seemed a little high; however, the only other option was to buy a new washer. The repair guys showed and said it should be fixed.After just three weeks, the washer broke again with the exact same symptom. Since I had the extended warranty, I called in another ticket. A different repair guy showed up and he said the first guy messed up. He said the guy misread the diagnostic code and didnt even put in the part that he said he replaced. The repair guy checked with Maytag and they told him it was no longer cost effective to fix our washer. Really? They overcharged for the warranty and wont even repair it when it breaks. The only reason I can think Maytag would do this is that they know the washers are junk.

My Maytag model MDB7749AWWI was purchased from Home Depot on March 10, 2011. On July 12, 2012, my dishwasher would not start. I had out of town guests and then the repair person was out of town, so I did not get anyone out to look at it until July 31. He stated that we had bad controls. The parts would be approximately $420.61. He could not get any parts because everyone was out of this part. Does that mean that all the dishwashers of this model number are broken? Is there a recall? This is unreal. When I was asked if I wanted extended warranty, I said no. If I needed an extended warranty, the equipment must be junk. Well, I needed the extended warranty. It is junk! I will never, never, never purchase another Maytag appliance as long as I live!

We bought a Maytag Dishwasher - Model #MDB4949SHW a year and a half ago at a Home Depot Location. We had previously had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 13 years of heavy use, with no issues or difficulties. At the time we purchased our dishwasher, there were various different brands on sale, including the one we purchased. The sales rep at Home Depot advised us that although we could get a similar dishwasher for the same price, that this particular model had a 10 year warranty. When I heard that, all I heard was 10 worry free years. MY MISTAKE. I could never have imagined that a company such as Whirlpool would advertise a warranty, that in the end is made up of nothing but false advertising.We ran a cycle during the Christmas holidays, and detected a funny smell of burnt rubber but didnt know what to make of it. I googled the issue and some people had had experiences with perhaps a plastic utensil or some other plastic, being burned by the heating element, so I figured that its what might have happened. I ran another cycle the next day, and the smell was much less prominent so I thought the problem had gone away. The next time we ran a cycle, the water didnt drain. We called in a repair person, and was shocked to learn that both the drain pump and main control board needed replacing.We got in touch with Whirlpool and low and behold, the only items they cover are nonsense items such as the racks, drum, tub...etc....in other words, the parts that are actually responsible for the running of the machine, are not covered, neither is LABOUR. Therefore, in my opinion, their warranty is trash and should not be relied upon under any circumstances. We purchased a new dishwasher just a year and a half ago, and are left with a heap of junk in our kitchen. Our options? Either spend $600.00 to $700.00 on repairs, possibly more, or buy a new dishwasher. When I asked if there was anything they could do to at least mitigate my damages, I was told....Sorry for your inconvenience...but do you have any other questions. I dont have any other questions...but I do have have a comment.... Make your products better....and dont print warranties that are utterly rubbish, false, and only serve to mislead the consumer. Needless to say, we will not be buying any more appliances from this company. Their one and only goal is profit for their shareholders with no regard whatsoever for the consumer. If I could give it ZERO stars, I most certainly would. :)

Should have researched before purchasing our Maytag Bravos MCT washer! We purchased it at Home Depot and it was delivered and installed by a certified technician. From day one it has been so loud and obnoxious with the way it “knocks” and “clicks” when it runs through a cycle. When it spins the whole machine shakes viciously, despite being balanced properly at installation.We have owned this washer just short of two years and for the last 8 months we have had to keep unplugging it to reset it so that it will even run through one cycle. The most recent two months have been extremely frustrating, due to the fact that not even troubleshooting can aid in “fixing” the fact that this piece of crap washer will not complete a wash cycle! It either stays in sensing mode & doesn’t add water, or it adds water but doesn’t do anything but sit still for about 15 minutes and then drains all the water back out and stays stuck on “wash”. We are researching online and have found many similar complaints with the same negative experiences. Our next step will be to call a repair person! What a crock!!! Maytag gets a big “thumbs down” from us!!!!

Top of the line $1300 Maytag Maxima MGD8100DW probably rusted much earlier before I noticed. After all how many times you check the drum of brand new top of the line dryer?? Manufacturer says not covered. Not sure but already this brand new model has been discontinued, so the manufacturer i.e. Maytag or Whirlpool take your pick found out about the defective design/part but now does not want to honor the warranty ridiculous. And one of the main selling points was made in USA (which turned out to be only assembled in USA), and the consumer reports which gave good rating but they were duped too.

It's mounted above the stove, ten years old and still looks & operates like brand new. Have never had a problem with it and it's used almost daily. From heating up food to making dinner & popcorn. This is the longest lasting microwave I've ever purchased. Maytag made a great product.

I bought a Maytag Range with the Aqualift feature 3 years ago. Worse purchase every, the oven clean option (Aqualift) is useless. It do not work at all, be prepared to spend hours cleaning. I followed manufacturers instructions and its useless, after running the cleaning cycle three times I gave up and starting cleaning for hours.

On my 3rd circuit board for a MDB7749SBMO MODEL dish washer. The people at Maytag are people that wont even talk to you about it. How many people have to complain before theres a recall on a faulty ribbon cable.

We purchased a Maytag MVWX655DW1 Bravos MCT washer in 2017 and I recall a sloshing sound during agitation. Its a high efficiency model and was okay for several months, I think. It began to make something of a clunking sound during agitation that was similar to the deceleration sounds when the spin cycle completes. It seems that is an indication that something is wrong. Clothes arent clean after washing - another reason to suspect a problem. I observed the wash cycles and noticed that some items dont even get wet during the wash cycle. The clunking is probably an indication of the type of failure but I couldnt find anything other than someone else asking the same question when I did an internet search. Expected performance is shown in a company video with water sloshing during agitation. Thats the key take-away. My basket moves back and forth an inch or two during agitation and makes a clunking sound at each direction change. Water isnt sloshing through clothing and some of the garage rags that were once my clothes probably just needed a good washing. I suppose that even cleaning the washer isnt accomplishing much. The spin cycle is actually impressive. I load the washer evenly and find the completed loads with a towel or shirt evenly covering the clothes pulled to the basket below. Unfortunately, thats probably the only part of the process cleaning anything.The enclosure says its designed and assembled in U.S.A. and, unfortunately, speaks to our manufacturing ability. Some of the engineers Ive worked with over the years suggested areas to inspect. I was able to use my phone camera to look under the unit and noted that it is controlled by a main drive motor and a little synchronous motor with a linkage that Im guessing changes agitation direction. Both are made in China. Ive considered repairing it and just pulled the wash plate for inspection and found nothing beyond the difficulty of pulling the wash plate. Probably an issue with the drive assembly and a few hundred dollars in parts to fix. Ive also had input from someone about the cost of replacing the control board. I grew up with TV commercials of the Maytag repairman with nothing to repair in the world of reliable, American products. Its disappointing to find that is no longer the case. The low tech GE washers weve used all our lives were old and ugly when they left our house. Not defective, a few drops of oil below or worn finish but still working. It really is a disappointment to look at where we are today. It didnt have to collect samples on Mars or deliver orders in a self-driving vehicle. A reliable washer to clean dirty clothes is all we hoped for.

We had perfectly working 20 year old top loading white Whirlpools w/ an agitator, when we remodeled our home and wanted new pretty grey appliances and decided to donate our machines to the church. I chose Maytag top loading due to their former reputation we experienced with dishwashers, etc. It had an agitator, deep fill option, extra rinse, etc. The sales person at Home Depot stated, the agitator is because people like you still want the agitator, and the deep fill will give you the water you have been used to. Not so at all!!Clothes get wound up together, even with filling the wash tub in bundles, there is almost NO water to thoroughly clean & the rinse cycle is a joke. Clothes do NOT come out clean. Im 58 yrs. old and have been doing laundry since I was 13 so I know what I am doing. Its just my husband and I now, and he is so upset that his clothes are pilling probably from rubbing together, even though I occasionally use laundry bags. I seriously wish I would have saved my money and kept the 2 perfectly working whirlpool units I had. This has been such a disappointment. I sincerely would not buy these.P.S. Weve had service out at least 5 times in the last year, and all they do is test the washer and tell us its working as intended... The last thing that is going to happen is we are going to get refunded for a different set, even though we were educated over and over what it would do by Home Depot associates. We are heartbroken. Maytag is going to lose their former reputation on these washers a dryers :( There is simply not enough water to clean or rinse things!

No motor is available for the Bravos washer machine which is 5 years old! Now the machine is garbage and I need to buy a new one. I thought Maytag was a great brand so I purchased the Bravos but now I understand from the company that no motor replacements are available!! Wtf? Maytag/Whirlpool dont care for loyal supporters so, I am TELLING EVERYONE not to purchase Maytag/Whirlpool appliances whose name has gone for a dump with this latest situation.

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher (model MDB7609AWW2) on November 14th, 2009 from a local appliance shop in White Plains, NY. Total purchase price was $449, not including tax.Sometime in November of 2011, the unit stopped working. I tried every simple test I could think of to hopefully reset the unit. Finishing the obvious checks, I researched some possible problems on the internet latch micro switch, drainage problem, dirty latch, etc. Frustrated as nothing got it working again, I called a repairman recommended to us by the appliance store.The repairman charged me $75 for the visit just to tell me that the control board is shot. Even worse, and this is the reason for this letter, the part costs $329 plus $40 in labor! That is outrageous! If you do the math, I am facing the costs of a brand new unit to fix the old one. That might make sense if the unit was 8 years old but it is barely 2.I have sat on the decision now for a few days as I am beyond upset and I never make good decisions when I feel like this. But to recap, Maytag manufactures an appliance where its basic function - turning on - fails in 2 years and the repair cost essentially totals (to use insurance parlance) the unit. I find this absolutely unacceptable.I don’t expect Maytag to do anything for me. But I will say this; I plan on letting everyone I know just how this experience went. To make things worse, I am willing to pay for a quality unit but how does anyone know what that is anymore? For color, my grandmother has a KitchenAid dishwasher from the 1970s that is still running fine. No membrane controls, no delay functions or fancy BS super sanitary cycles and guess what, it has no control board, just plain old dials and buttons. Imagine that mechanical control? Built to last unlike the junk you see today.To remedy, I plan on picking up a used machine from the classifieds. I’ll install it myself and be able to do this for 9 years at $449, assuming it only lasts one year (I’m finding these units for $50 used). I may get lucky and find an old one from the 70s that will last a lot longer than that.

This dishwasher is reliable and has NEVER had any repairs. It cleans fairly well, but I do wash off dishes before I put them in. The one complaint I have is sometimes the dishes smell funny after washing. I think it may be our water though. I also like that there is room for oversize dishes and glasses on some of the racks. Overall, I would buy it again.

My over-stove microwave is approximately 18 months old. Suddenly, the fan came on and will not turn off. I had to unplug the microwave. This appliance is out of warranty but certainly should last longer than 18 months. I feel that Maytag should certainly be called to task for selling and promoting such a shoddy, unreliable product.

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.

We purchased Bravos series Maytag washer and dryer. These are a match pair, the top loader, extra large capacity, very top of the line, $$$$$. The washer has already been replaced after many repairs, but the replacement new Maytag leaves a powdered gray residue on all the clothes because of the small amount of water it puts in the washer tub. Even on the deep water cycle, if I put in a blanket it will come out of the washer half dry where water has never reached it. This washer is the worst I have ever seen and cost top dollar. Maytag says nothing wrong but when I show them the powdered residue on the clothes they refuse to answer. This is the worst engineered washer ever, tangles the clothes terribly, does not clean the clothes and usually forces you to wash them twice to removed the soap residue left on them. I have tried every soap on the market, stacked clothing as Maytag suggested, tried various tricks Maytag has suggested, but nothing stops the grey soap residue. This washer cost almost a $1,000 for just the washer, it is a disaster. I have asked Maytag to refund my money but they refuse. If anyone else has their washer - we need to join in a class action lawsuit to force Whirlpool, maker of Maytag to replace this piece of garbage!!!

This washer is no better than a glorified garbage can. Maytag AKA Whirlpool should be ashamed to put their name on this product. Like others before me on this website my washing machine sounds like a jet is taking off in my basement. When I contacted a serviceman, he told me the drum seal is broken and the bearings are shot. I have the machine since April 11, 2011. Not even three years to date! I do not have an extended warranty so shame on me to believe that a 900.00 machine should last well beyond 3 years. Unfortunately, I am getting the run around from Whirlpool as all of you have experienced. This is criminal. Not only are we as consumers being defrauded by irresponsible manufacturing but these huge hunks of metal and plastic are polluting our environment. Our parents had washing machines and dryers for as long as 20 to 25 years and they actually cleaned clothes. We now have high efficiency machines that destroy our clothing and leave them dirty and wrinkled. They are now made to break in 5 years and from what I see on this website the average for breakdown is becoming 3 years. Do you think that this is not by design? The service call turns out to be more than the value of the machine, so the repairman doesnt even profit as consumers refrain from costly repair and repurchase. The only profitability is gained by the manufacturers that keep pushing out junk to the consumer. These manufacturers should be accountable like the American auto-manufacturers became accountable for the junk they manufactured at the expense of a whole city, Detroit.

My 16-month old dishwasher, which is not being used everyday, broke its control panel. Maytag will not fix it for free because they only back it for one year. This is a major appliance, shouldnt it last more than 16 months? The cost to repair is almost as much as a new dishwasher.

I have a stainless steel dishwasher, model MDBH985AWS10. Its about 5 years old. The control panel works intermittently -- Ive replaced and ruled out the door latch -- now Ive got the problem narrowed down to either the control panel or the circuit board. Ive read about this diagnostic cycle I could run to try to help diagnose the problem. I emailed Maytag for the code and waited a week and didnt get a response.I called them today and they said they cant give me the code--they only give that to their technicians. My dishwasher is not brand new, but I paid good money for it, and Id prefer to not have to guess what to buy when Im trying to repair it. Each of these parts costs about $150. Im not sure what the policy is for other dishwasher manufacturers, but for the next washer I buy, Ill find a company that either 1) has more reliable products or 2) at least tries to help the customer repair his own equipment.

I wished I researched more before I purchased, but like most people, I believed in the reputation of Maytag. Like many others - my control panel started to go out 19 months after install: Had my first event with the washer; it would not allow me to select normal wash. A high-end machine shouldnt have electrical connection problems within 19 months, just 7 months after the warranty expires.When the repairman pulled apart our machine, he found a similarly burned looking touchpad ribbon cable, that was burned in exactly the same position as the photos shown on Maytags website under the review referred to. Maytag/Whirlpool has set up a special phone number to deal with this problem: I dialed 1-866-931-7384... Been on hold for over an hour Of course - NO answer! Ill try later but I am very angry that this has been a known issue BEFORE I purchased mine at Home Depot. What a piece of junk. This is the last Maytag Ill ever buy again. The service is horrible, the product is junk.

Absolutely the worst washer I’ve ever had! Do not buy this washer. Even after a double rinse there is white matter left all over everything! I’ve taken photographs of my laundry after two rinses and it’s disgusting. I will be quite happy to submit the photographs at any time.

The top loader washer Commercial Technology washes very small loads well. I bought it for the deepwater wash. It DOES NOT work. It also has a auto sensing. Hate this washer. I have to pour buckets of water in the wash to fill it. Maytag/Whirlpool go back to the way it should be. If I want a full washer I should have it! At the end of the day IT IS MY WATER BILL!

I bought the dryer (Maytag Gas Bravo Dryer) from Home depot in December of 2010. The thermostat went out in July of 2011 and has replaced the same part 5 times up until August of 2011. Then they put a new burner with a thermostat and it lasted till June 1 of 2012. Now the warranty is out, they want me to repair this piece of **. I will never buy a Maytag product again.

We purchased washer at Sears 6 years ago. Have had same issues for 5 or more years. Sears has been out to check it 6 to 7 times! They clean it out, tell me to use (expensive) Affresh tablets monthly, problem solved but it never is! When we run our washer and walk in laundry room it smells like a sewer. If we open lid its even worse. I use Norwex all naturally, biodegradable laundry detergent. There is nothing Ive done to create this smell. Its a manufactured problem that probably relates to ALL the other issues with this crappie washer that Maytag will do nothing about. I called Sears for 7th or 8th time, said they could send someone out AGAIN, I said thats a waste of my time and yours. They told me to call Maytag. They wont do anything (warranty is up). Of course there are NO ISSUES OR RECALLS on this washer and obviously there should be with not ONE good review! Im angry. You all should be too. We paid good $ for a product that used to have a good name and they are screwing us. I think we should ban together with a class action lawsuit. Please give me your thoughts. They know something isnt right and they shouldnt get away with this.

My Maytag Neptune washer was purchased last October 2010. In the past few months, the washer has been making a loud noise when spinning/washing. I had a Maytag repairman look at the washer, and all the barring, etc. needed to be replaced, which would have a cost of over $450.00! I am very upset with this outcome and just looked into it and found that this washer had recalls that the consumers were not properly notified about. The lack of recall communication is inexcusable, especially since I even went as far as to buy a 3-year extended warranty and still was not notified.What really set this situation was that the repairman suggested to not buy a Maytag washer and he added that it would not be a problem since Maytag has been purchased by Whirlpool and that the Neptune washer played a part of the ending of Maytag! This whole situation has really put a bad taste for any Maytag product, and all of my major appliances are Maytag as well as the dryer I just purchased a week ago, before I knew about all of the disappointment of Maytag. I am sure the response I will be getting will be as good as the notification of the recall, which will be nothing. Thanks!

Purchased a Maytag Electric range Model MER8800FZ2 in 2019. The surface Scratched the first week of purchase and the stains will not come off. When I called customer service they claim they are not responsible for cosmetics. In my opinion, This model was put together with the cheapest material they could find. Maytag is not what it used to be. The Elements take a long time to heat up. Inside the oven, the Glazed Paint is cheap product also where once it stains with food it never comes off.

I purchased a Bravos washing machine 3 years, 9 months ago. It has stopped working, bad bearings. How can a major appliance fail after three years for bad bearings unless the bearing were bad to begin with??? The repair man knew by the sound the problem was bad bearings. The washing machine sounded the same as it always had, which means the bearing were bad from the start. My first washing machine, a Kenmore, lasted 21 years and a few months. How can you produce such a terrible product and expect I as a consumer would buy another Maytag product or recommend a Maytag product? Not to mention what will now enter a landfill someplace, terrible!

I purchased a refrigerator 9 years ago and the ice maker stopped working. When the repairman took it out there was plastic peeling from the ice mold. It cost $261.11 to have the ice maker replaced and the ice maker he replaced it with has the plastic on the ice mold. He said that GEs ice makers do not have the plastic coating but Maytags still do. I called Maytag and spoke to a supervisor and they said that there was nothing that they could do. I am filing this complaint because I feel that consumer need to be aware that they are ingesting plastic that is in their ice. I feel that Maytag should compensate me for the faulty part and also eliminate the plastic coating from their ice maker. This issue is impacting many other consumers and they need to issue a recall on the ice maker and replace it for free for other consumers.

We purchased a high-end stainless steel interior/exterior unit in January 15. It is now July 15 and we have not been able to get any use out of it. Day 1 washer leaked. Full day off for service. Guy told us we were using the wrong soap. It leaked on the very next wash. Called again. They forgot to check the soap dispenser. Another service/day off. Leaked again! Another service call/day off. They replace the dispenser & seal. Now washer no longer leaks but the dishes are dirty and wet even days later. Another service call. Another new part. And now we are waiting for our 5th service call. We paid for a new unit and have a refurbished cobbled together piece of junk. Maytag stubbornly refuse to replace this unit.

Dont ever buy this washing machine. After warranty was up, the motherboard went. After that, the pump went. Now, the machine has been shaking and we have to realign the clothes in the washer on an average of 6 times before it completes the cycle. The banging is nerve-racking! Never again buying Maytag!

I purchased my Maytag Bravos washing machine set in July 2007. In May 2011, I had to have the shocks and another part relating to running a balanced load replaced. I spent about $500 on those repairs. The parts to replace the shocks took more than 6 weeks to arrive! Roughly one year later, the plastic water pump has broken and needs replacing - another $100 part plus labor. I always believed Maytag was a reputable company, but I am very sad at the quality of the product I purchased based on their reputation. They should be ashamed! To date, the dryer has been good - knock on wood!

Very dissatisfied with Maytag Washer Mod MVWB835DW0. This Large Capacity machine does not adequately clean a large capacity of clothes. In order to get a half decent wash performance from this machine, fill the machine only 1/4 full. Even using the recommended manual, I was very dissatisfied with the way my clothes looked after washing them with this machine. While I have been unhappy with the performance of this machine since purchasing it. What motivated me to leave this review is when my pants had the same sand debris on them after the wash as they had before the wash. I will be looking for a new machine this weekend. IT WILL HAVE AN AGITATOR TOWER!

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher less than a year ago and are very disappointed with the poorly designed quality of this product. We had a Maytag repairman look at our dishwasher and he told us that; the dishwasher cleans with enzymes in the dishwasher not water pressure, and we need to make sure the water in the kitchen faucet need to be hot before starting the dishwasher, we also need detergent, rinse aid, and citric acid added to each load. Adding all these products to the dishwasher does not fix a poorly designed product. This product does not clean the dishes, even with rinse aid the glasses come out cloudy. The dishwasher has a power blast button, it does not clean the dishes any better than the regular setting and it runs for four hours. We will never buy another Maytag product.

I bought a Maytag Dryer from Lowes in December of 2013. I paid 600.00 for this dryer which I thought was going to last for quite awhile. It stopped working in January of 2016. (2 years old). I had a repairman come out and he said the motor had burned out and he wanted 300.00 to fix it. I called Lowes and asked if I should expect the motor to burn out in 2 years; they said of course not - call Maytag. That proved to be a complete waste of time. They would do nothing. They simply said that there was not a recall on that machine and they were not technicians. However they would be glad to send someone for 125.00 dollars to look at it, then the parts and labor would be more. I have never had a dryer burn out in 2 years - not even when I was raising children and using a dryer daily. This Maytag clothes dryer isnt even used every week and when it is used, there are a few small loads. I am appalled and disappointed in Maytag and the poor quality of this appliance as well as their horrible customer service.

On 12/09/12, I purchased a Maytag washer, model mvwc200xw, from our local Menards store. About 6 months ago, the washer started making a slight banging noise, and would occasionally move in the spin cycle. Now, when washing a small to medium size load, the banging noise is very loud and does a lot of moving. I found nothing in the troubleshooting guide to help me on this, so I looked on-line and found several websites discussing this same problem. They stated that the problem was a snubber assembly and the replacement part would cost $4.55. They also said the washer would have to be taken apart to change out this $4.55 part.I watched a you-tube video of someone changing this part and quickly came to the conclusion that I would need help in doing this. A comment was left in the video from a Maytag repairman saying that the person changing this part was not doing it in a safe manner. The repairman stated that changing it in the way this person described in the video was DANGEROUS! I wrote an email to Maytag customer service explaining the problem and asked if there was anything they could do to help me on this 1 1/2 year old washer. I received an immediate email stating they would get back to me in 3 days. Ten days later, I finally received a reply. I was told there was nothing they could or would do even though I was a valued customer and that they understand and appreciate my feelings of disappointment.I worked for a large department store from 1970 to 1990 and sold appliances, one of them being the Maytag brand. At that time, they were considered to be a top of the line brand. This was why I purchased Maytag appliances for over 40 years. I am surprised and saddened to see a lot of on-line complaints against Maytag appliances and also that this 1 1/2 year washer needs to be repaired so soon. Obviously, times have changed. I figured it would cost me at least $100.00 to have this washer repaired. Rather than do that, I am going to take this in need of repair to a scrape recycling center and then go out and buy a new washer, but it will not be Maytag! Maytag will never disappoint me again!

Maytag Top-loading washer MVWP475EWO - I just want to comment on how engineers have made our washing machines worse instead of better. I had to replace my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - and did try a new one of that brand, but had the dealer take it back. It had so little water when it ran and was a piece of junk. Anyway, replaced it with the Maytag and it too has the water saving feature (which I understand all of them do) but I have to put it on the bulky setting all the time to even get the water to at least cover the clothes. The clothes just barely, if at all, actually move! They sort of rotate a little at a very slow speed. Boy, maybe this was the time to try a front loader so the clothes at least moved a little in the machine! I am so disappointed in how all the machines are manufactured now. One dealer told me I would like the Speed Queen, but it would take five weeks to get one. Thought this Maytag might do the trick, but now Im stuck with it anyway. It does not spin the clothes out nearly so well as my old Cabrio did. The clothes are pretty wet! So, another fine engineering feature. I wish the engineers would be the ones that actually did some laundry so they would see how bad the machines are. My daughter has three young boys and theres no way this would clean the clothes for her. I told her she should be glad her machine is still working. The dealer was very nice about it when I returned the other one, but it seems all the machines arent really made to clean clothes anymore.

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher in 2009 then had it repaired for a leak in 2010 (just past the 12-month warranty); next another leak in Nov 2013 so purchased another Maytag as repair appliance company said it wasnt worth fixing. Now in Feb 2015 it is leaking Again! So 2 dishwashers and 1 repair in 5 years! Both were purchased from Home Depot. I will Never buy a Maytag product again.

We have had this washer/dryer stack up for about 2 years now. Not long after it was purchased from Best Buy, it started smelling like mold, even though we were doing everything possible to keep it ventilated. Best Buy employee said that service was not covered by the warranty that we purchased, so they suggested we YOUTUBE some ideas on how to get rid of the smell. They said it was a common complaint for front load washers. We have tried Affresh, hot water and bleach, hot water with vinegar and lavender, etc. Nothing is working. There is mold on the plastic inside the washer door and the stench is horrible now. You can smell it when you walk into our home. I believe that stench is the reason we are all having respiratory problems, allergies, etc. I just dont know what to do anymore. Really frustrating!! These appliances cost a lot of money.

I ordered my dream refrigerator (Maytag Model MFT2776FEZ) on 05-12-2017. I had to wait 4 weeks for it to arrive because it was on back-order. I was willing to wait. All was good for 6 months. January 2018, the six month old refrigerator quit cooling. It took 2 1/2 from the service call until the part came in to fix before I could use my refrigerator again. I lost all my food. The same thing happened again in March 2018 except that it took 4 weeks for the part to come in once the serviceman ordered it. I lost all my food for a second time. February 2019, the same thing happened again. I placed the service call on 01-31-2019 for service, but the tech could not come out until 2/6/19. The part had to be ordered and could not be installed until 2-28-2019. For the 3rd time, Ive lost my food. My best friend that has appliances that are nearly 30 years old. She was going to replace all of hers and get exactly what I ordered. She has changed her mind and has decided she would rather keep her outdated appliances because they work.

Purchased 4-2010, used maybe once a week, it stopped working 11-2013. They sent someone out to replace the faulty recall, which the recall says there is an electrical wiring failure that can cause a fire, so they replaced part. It did nothing, the dishwasher still would not wash, just fill up with water and drain, but would never go into wash, so we call and argue. First girl said that recall has been known to burn out the control panel so we have to pay for a service person to come out and diagnose it, if that is it, they will pay to repair it. Then when he does diagnose it, we call back, the next person says no, the recall has nothing to do with the control panel, that it is just a bracket that holds up the heating element... REALLY. Well then the Consumer Protection Agency has the wrong info because I just looked on there and the recall says, Electrical failure with the heating element that is not related to a bracket, I can read and I am not stupid, so we were out the $50 service call, so we finally got them to agree and pay for the part, but we would have to pay to put it on...HHHHHH NO, I am not spending another dime on service calls, I could spend the same amount and go and get a scratch and dent dishwasher for the same or just a little more. We are calling back tomorrow to argue more with them, then I am emailing the local TV station that handles these kind of issues. MAYTAG is a piece of nothing, I will never buy this or anything with their name on it again....

After researching the top-rated washing machine in consumer reports, we decided to spend the extra cash ($930) and buy the top-rated machine. Spending almost double on a high end machine, you would expect this machine to last longer than three years. The motherboard needs to be replaced because it gets stuck on a UL code near the end of the cycle. Now, we have had two people come try to fix it, and they said to trash it and buy a new one. Only three years! If I had paid $300, I wouldnt be so upset, but that was a total waste of money for it to last less than any machine Ive ever had. How is a consumer supposed to know what a good washing machine is if they spend extra cash for the top-rated machine and that one is still bad? The company should replace something like a motherboard that goes faulty when it had nothing to do with use. So unfair and frustrating.

I would like others to know that Maytag does not stand behind this product at all. I am not sure about other products, but after talking to Maytags customer service team I would guess you would get the same runaround with other products. We have had our washers for about eight years now and have had many things go wrong with it. The one that gets me the most is the one that my appliance repair service does not cover and that is the main bearing. I have done some research to why this is and most of them do not cover this, because they should last for the life of the washer. Most washers last for more than ten years. However this washer has only lasted a few years on each bearing. I have now put in my third bearing into this washer. The last bearing only lasted two years. If I had to pay for labor on replacing this part I would have not replaced it. I had been given a quote for replacing it and it was over $350. Some places wanted more than $400 to do it. To me the washer is not worth this. Yes we paid like $900 for the washer, but it is not worth putting that much money into this washer. If you cannot replace this part on your own then just walk away from it. Buy a Speed Queen. I know Maytag has sent parts to other people free of charge, but I have not been so lucky. When you send others part to fix the same problem, to me that is admitting that there is a flaw in this washer. With that said my wife and I already filed a BBB complaint against Maytag and will be sending a letter to the Minnesota Attorney General. I have proof they have sent replacement parts to others and dont see why they cannot do the same for me. Maytag is own by Whirlpool, you think it would be cheaper and easier to make customers happy than just brushing them off. I would say that customer service in many of these large companies and even small companies is gone. I remember when you would call a company and make a complaint and they would go out of their way to try to make you happy. Now they come up with reasons why it is all the customers fault that their products are bad. Maytag is just another example of a greedy business that does not care about their customers. So please do your research before you buy this product and good luck to those who have that are stuck with the junk that Maytag sells customers.

I purchased the Maytag Bravo model MGDB950YG on April 22, 2012. It worked great for a while then stopped heating and drying the clothes. After going through the Maytag procedure, a repair person assessed the problem, had to order the part then came back to repair it. But the same thing just happened again! Both Maytag and HHGregg need to go through the appropriate procedures, which leaves me without a dryer for who knows how long this time. Maytag will not do next day service probably because it costs them a little more. I think Maytag should have enough common sense to sometimes make exception to this. Today is Thursday and I cant get an appointment until Monday! I have owned two dryers prior to this which each lasted 10 years plus. I would be much more understanding if I had my appliance for more than 4 months (out of commission 2-3 weeks of the 4 months). Ive never been so disappointed in an appliance!

It doesnt clean as well as the cheap GE model we have at our beach cottage. Also it is very noisy. Disappointing. Will never buy a Maytag dishwasher again.

We purchased a Maytag Commercial Technology washer from Lowes. After having the washer for only 3 months, the drum failed, an entire load of clothes was turned black with oil, and my washer was out of service for months. The drum had to be replaced. They did not offer me a replacement. I was just without a washer. They couldnt get the parts because of supply issues created by Covid. I was offered a 2-year additional warranty which should have carried me through 2022. Last week, I called to use the warranty - service was scheduled (and I was told that I did indeed have a warranty by the service team.) I was then told by the repair team that I was out of warranty. Maytags notes show I was only offered a 1 year additional warranty. I talked with Management at Maytag/Whirlpool - they will do nothing for me. Shame on me for not getting that in writing. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for lying to me. The washer has been a nightmare! Dont buy one.

I bought a Maytag refrigerator from Lowes. It has the freezer on bottom and I cannot put no fruits or vegetables in my refrigerator - it freezes them solid. Will never purchase this style of refrigerator again. Very Unsatisfied with this product

My five year old refrigerator freezer was leaking due to a corner filler part left in the the freezer compartment that lodged over the drain hole in the freezer. It cost me $232.90 to have a repair technician dig it out. MAYTAG accepts no responsibility for poor inspection, workmanship or quality control and they will not reimburse my fee.

Ice maker not making ice, lights on the temperature controller are all flashing, ice/water dispenser door continuously opens and closes, refrigerator and freezer both do not cool/freeze properly. I purchased a new main control and low voltage board at a total cost of $400 and replaced them to no avail. Nothing changed when electronic boards were replaced.

Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer/dryer - Purchased this set nearly 3 years ago from Lowes. The washing machine smells like toxic sewage. The Affresh brand cleaner no longer works. All of our towels and many of our clothing items have had to be replaced due to the stench. I surmise this is because it does not use enough water. The clothes get wrinkled badly, twisted, stretched out and torn. The dryer does not fully dry. Always had to run it again to get the items dry. Finally, it started making a horrible, loud, screeching and grinding sound. Neither the washer or dryer was quiet for long. Putting these out on my curb today for scrap metal pickup.
