I love the way it can really handle large loads. The dryer is the best though. It actually dries your load without you having to turn it on more. There are many different choices that handle drying. So, no more to the bone drying.

I had another Maytag washer. It lasted 21 months. BB got me the BravosXL to replace it. I have had it 6 years. It is a piece of junk. Goes out of balance all the time. We are 2 ladies and don’t have heavy clothes to wash. I am washing now. I have put It through a wash cycle. The soap is still on the clothes. I am on my THIRD rinse cycle and there is still soap on the clothes. And I used less soap. Never again MAYTAG.

Side by side refrigerator model #msd255oveu01. I bought this refrigerator Apr. 2011... The 1st year, the ice kept sticking in machine or freezing up. Now they have had to replace the modules 3 times. Once fall of 2012 and and again yesterday, 3/19/14 and they had to come back today to replace that one. I have called Maytag and they wont stand behind it since the warranty is over. I have told them that this is an ongoing thing with the ice maker and I have had to have it serviced ever since I have bought it. I told them from the git go that the ice maker needed replace. The ice dispenser also drops an ice cube on the floor on occasion and if I use crushed ice it jams up. This product is defective and is not a good product.

I have NEVER written a review however I am compelled to write up and if I can save at least 1 family from making the mistake I did then my review will be worth it so just before Christmas last year I treated myself to a new washer. I looked at so many. Only 2 things on my wish list were 1) American Made and 2) have a large capacity for blankets and bedding. Well, I was so excited about my Maytag Bravos XL Washer but my excitement didnt last long. 4. There is a major design flaw in this machine. I have given it plenty of time and have tried to talk myself to liking it but when you have to wash the white loads at least 3 times to get them clean and still not getting the results expected then its time to admit to yourself that I made a mistake.The large capacity drum is an irrelevant because once the clothes are wet they become too heavy for the drum base to actually agitate the clothes. What ends up actually happening is your wet clothes sit in a pile. The user tends to scale the loads back to help the machine. The above problem is partly due to the fact that the machine NEVER fills up the drum with enough water to submerge the clothes where perhaps they would be able to move freely with the base agitator and the drum rotating. This model was marketed as water conserving however we find ourselves washing loads 2-4 times to achieve the desired outcome. Conserving water at this point is a joke... we end up using more water and energy to get a load of clothes clean.Bleach dispenser does not empty completely during the white cycle even when less than recommended measurements are used. If a load of whites needs to be washed we have to wash with bleach on the 1st go, and then 2 more cycles without bleach. Otherwise anything washed after the whites gets spots of bleach on them. For these and many more reasons this machine should NOT be on the market and especially not for over $800 USD! And I would not want this product to represent US production. It does not deliver on any of its selling points and is overpriced.

I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I will now take the repair money and go buy a new washer. You can be sure that it absolutely will not have the Maytag/Whirlpool brand!

Water level not correct, binding laundry together and replaced the same parts with cheap parts over and over... just wanted clean clothes in a no frills washer. NOT with this washer. The control panel keeps breaking down, and its now going to be replaced for the 6th time. I have asked for a new stove when I called the Maytag Extended Warranty Department, and they will not replace this defective product. Please help me.

I bought this washer from Lowes in 2013. It worked okay for a little while but lately it stops mid-cycle. Clothes are soaked and all of the soap hasnt been rinsed out. Poor excuse for a washing machine! Will never buy a Maytag again!

Purchased side-by-side with bottom freezer 2009 after Hurricane Ike. Fridge has stopped cooling. Called Maytag Customer Center and was told nothing can be done only to find theres a 10 year warranty on the compressor. This malfunction should not be an issue after 8 years. My GE fridge still works after 25+ years. Horrible!

We bought a Maytag Bravos XL MCT Washer from Lowes in Oct of 2016. We had cycle issues with it in Sept of 2018 and called the Appliance Repair Service. IT was determined that the Electronic Control board and UIC was bad and needed to be replaced. Estimated cost - +$700.00. We bought Maytag because we thought it was dependable. Not so. Less than two years of use and repairs are more than we paid for machine ($639.00). Receipt would not upload.

Purchased a Maytag Dishwasher (Model MDB7749SBBO), total with tax $590.34 on 3/31/13. It wasnt a cheaper model, had stainless interior. Owning it after a 1-1/2 year, the Control Panel went bad. Maytag offered me for $267 for repairs and 1 yr warranty. Why thats about half the price I paid. My personal repairman told me the cost would be around $200 to replace the control panel. Why I could get a more inexpensive model for $300 and still get a year warranty. Very disappointed in Maytag quality of their product.

I purchased a set of Bravos 4 months ago and what a bad purchase! I wish I would have researched here first. Being environmentally concerned, I bought it because it was supposed to be high efficiency and low water usage. My clothes are being destroyed by this machine. They come out in a massive tangled ball, covered in ink and animal hair (after a wash or two, they are completely embedded into the fibers). Sometimes there are dry spots after I take a load out of the washing machine. No idea how that could happen. It torn my favorite sweater, ripped sheets, bore a hole in a towel, ripped pillows, and DOESNT EVEN CLEAN! I have to wash my clothes twice MANY times to get the dirt out which doesnt bode well for energy efficiency. Im calling them again today to try and get them returned for advertising that they will save me money. Not even close! They are a rip off! I gave my 35 year old set away and wish I had it back! Maytag is JUNK!!!

We spent $600 on a Maytag Jet Steam Plus dishwasher and its junk. We bought it in May of 2013 and the top panel is burnt out and the ribbon or control wires is corroded. Maytag wont pay for replacement parts and I wouldnt recommend anyone buy Maytag again. I thought it was supposedly a good brand but its nothing but garbage.

After the waranty ran out, oven failed to ignite. Called repairman who couldnt diagnose problem. Broiler works. Replaced some kind of wire & part for $350. Good for 6 months. Happening again. Paid a lot for this oven.

We purchased our range in May of 2012. It is now November 2014 and the stove has had three brains, three ignitors in the oven and one ignitor in the back of the stove. When I set it to bake at 350 degrees, the oven heats up and I put the food in the oven. When I go to check the food, I find the oven stone cold and the brain is still displaying 350 degrees. According to Home Depot Warranty department, if the oven has been fixed three times for the same problem, then the unit is considered a LEMON. Ok, what about the three brains? What about the three ignitors? The ignitor in the back of the stove controls the oven as well. SEVEN times for a technician to come out and fix my LEMON stove is ridiculous. California has lemon laws. I will file suit against Home Depot, Whirlpool, A&E and Quality Appliance if this stove is not replaced within the next seven days. IT IS A LEMON! I have lost way too much food in this oven because I dont know when it shuts off.

I purchased Maytag Quiet Series 300 Dishwasher in 2006. About 3 years ago, I got a letter that a recall had been issued due to an electrical problem. A service repair person came out and replaced the electrical element in question. Next the dishwasher did not work and a repair had to return again. Today I have the same electrical problem and after waiting on line 12 minutes to talk to Maytags customer service, I was told it could cost me a couple of hundred dollars to repair my 7-year old dishwasher. In my last home, my Kitchenaid dishwasher lasted 20 years before needing to be replaced. My daughters Maytag dishwasher lasted on 12 years. What ever happened to Maytags lonely repairman? I now have to get a new dishwasher and worry about my $3000.00 kitchen floor getting damaged with the removal of old and install of new. Believe me, my new one will not be Maytag.

We purchased a Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer in October 2011, and within 5 months, the main bearing failed. The Maytag repair person told us it was an inherent issue and to make sure we use HE detergent (We always have.). Maytag advised parts were not available for 3 weeks, so no washer after 5 months of use. The bearing failed a second time after 11 months. Maytag refused to replace the washer and advised it was repairable condition. Now, we have the bearing fail a third time, and Maytag has advised that they would not repair the washer under the extended warranty program. They offered us 75% refund on the washer (So I guess they expect their products to only last 4 years.), which is simply unacceptable. We are now faced with purchasing a new washer, which will not match the dryer; or we have to purchase a washer and dryer of another brand. Maytag has provided pathetic customer support, and their response or lack thereof shows that they simply just dont care about their brand image or the customer.

I bought a Maytag Bravos washing machine from Lowes in Ocala in Feb 2017. It broke in March 2017. I was referred to a company called Fields Appliance in Orlando Fl. I scheduled a repair under warranty last Friday between 1-4 pm. No one showed up. No one called. I called and called and nothing. BEWARE.

My built in electric double wall oven, Model MEW6630DDB, convection on the top, has been the most frustrating appliance I have ever owned. It has never kept an even temperature. It has been repaired several times and still does not keep an even temperature. It takes 14 hours to cook a 20 lb. turkey and baking cookies are not even an option. I have complained to Maytag and have paid for repair services. Their solution buy an extended warranty which is absolutely insane because they havent been able to repair it since it was new over four years ago.

This one of the worst purchases I have ever made! Paid over $850 in March, 2015 for the Maytag Bravos XL. At first, we experienced leaking and now there is a terrible banging and clanging noise! Had an appliance repairman come to see what was going on. Apparently it needs a hub replacement and bearing replacement. Was told by two companies that it is not cost effective to fix it due to the amount of parts and labor.Aside from this major issue, I never felt that the clothes came out clean. Many times, the clothes would come out with detergent all stuck to the clothes and had to be rewashed. The softener and bleach dispensers are not removable and it is nearly impossible to get all the way into the cup in order to clean the mildew that builds up. The fabric softener dispenser always had gummed up chunks.Called Maytag several times to no avail. Was basically told - too bad its out of warranty. I have never heard of a washer giving out after 3 years! The worst part is that I have searched many places on the Internet and apparently the bearing problem seems to be a common issue with this washer. I purposely bought an American made product and am extremely disappointed in not only this product, but the company as a whole. The customer service department is awful. I will NEVER purchase Maytag or Whirlpool ever again. They lost my business for putting a terrible product on the market and refusing to acknowledge flaws. Interesting that this model is now discontinued, but they refuse to acknowledge the problems. Stay away from Maytag and/or Whirlpool!

We bought a freestanding Maytag gas range and oven two years ago for our lake house, where we stay approximately two months out of the year. The oven has been used probably six or seven times total. The gas range works fine, and the oven pilot light goes on, gas seems to be flowing, but the oven does not get warm. It registers 200 degrees, but there is no heat inside it at all. $300 to fix!

I bought a Maytag Gemini double oven gas range 5 burners (model MGT8885XS000), even air true convection cooking. Within 4 months, 1 of the gas valves (knobs to turn gas on with) froze. I could not turn one of the top burners off. Maytag came out and fixed it. Three months later, another one froze. Again Maytag came out and fixed it. Our warranty ended. Over the next year, all five burner valves have frozen. I called Maytag, told them what happened. The most they could do for me was to give me the part half off. So I can pay $200.00 for parts and pay for a repairman to come out and fix it. The oven cost $2,000.00. I am still paying for it. Chances are if I repaired it would break again.

I bought two sets of Maytag washer and dryer. We have had them for less than a year and the tubs had to be replaced out of both of them. Now, its less than six months later and they are doing the same thing, so the tubs have to be replaced again. What kind of equipment are you making? This is just an outrage. You are scamming people to buy your products by your so called advertising and rep. Well, this is false advertising on your part. I will never buy another Maytag anything or Whirlpool either. Purchased dishwasher from Highway Appliance in Dunlevy, PA on August 21, 2013. In August, 2015 control panel apparently went bad. When pushing normal, other buttons light up, but not the one you select. Tried throwing the breaker to reset, to no avail. Based on reviews, seems like many others have the same problem. Step up and do the right thing Maytag - recall & replace these machines!!!

Im very pleased with both the washer and the dryer. The front-load washer is very efficient with many washing options dependent on items being washed. Spin cycle spins very well which lessens the dry time of the washer.

Bought the washer in February 2012 for $900 at a local appliance store, delivery included. Just yesterday (10/16/15) a 5 cent piece of grey plastic flew out of the lid lock mechanism. Thinking this $900 modern piece of machinery painstakingly designed by intelligent people with university degrees would certainly work if I just stuck the plastic part back in. I just popped it back in, the lid locked, and the machine spun away happily (only having to run a correct cycle for an unbalanced load twice! What joy!) Fast forward 40 minutes, I skip down the stairs to go retrieve my flannel sheets (because its October in Pennsylvania, its getting freezing cold at night) and pull up gently to open the lid. It doesnt budge. About 2 hours later, following a screaming match and some furious googling, it was determined we would need two people to pop the entire top off the machine to extract my sheets.So in order to use the washer to clean clothing now, weve been unplugging the machine. Removing the three screws on the control panel (aka brainbox), unplugging the black and white wire from the brain box, taking the control panel off and sitting it on the dryer, and using putty knives to push in the metal clips holding down the top of the machine down, and prying the entire top of the machine back on its hinge. Then I can get my clothes out. Then doing so in reverse (dont forget to add detergent before shutting the lid! It will lock and you will have to pop the entire top off again.) to use the washer. All because of a 5 cent piece of PLASTIC. What brainchild figured, Eh, we can just use plastic for this important piece that the washer wont run properly without. It doesnt matter!? Someone that wanted to make $300 a pop doing service calls thats who.I cant believe Maytag has gone so far down the tubes. In case anyone else ran into this problem and needs to fix it, write down the model number, serial number, and other crud listed under the lid. Then use them to wipe while youre in the bathroom. All you need is the company and part number on the lid lock mechanism. According to Maytags website my washer doesnt exist. And there was no way, no matter how creatively I googled, to find a part for it with the Maytag model number. So now I have to try to find this measly mechanism to replace and try to use this piece of crud for a few more months. I guess my Christmas present this year is buying a new washer. And you can BET it will not be a Maytag.And two more things: with no agitator, you can fit really big stuff, but you also get to hear your washing machine dancing on your basement floor with an uneven load. No matter how many times you try to re-position items, it runs a corrective cycle, refills with water, and spins everything into a ball AGAIN. Also, the miserable thing is starting to rust. Right on the sides and near the lid hinge, and all around the bleach receptacle. How cheap, a washer on which the paint rusts right off with chlorine bleach.I wish I still had my Grandpas old 1930s wringer Maytag. At least I knew that one would work without a cheap piece of plastic. And at this point I might prefer wringing my clothes to hearing my washer try to escape. In short: cheap parts, no replacements available through company for DIY repairmen, company designed to force customers to use their servicing for $300 a pop. 1/10 would NOT recommend Maytag.

I got a Maytag Bravos 18 months ago and liked it at first. After using the washer for a while my towels were falling apart. Did not connect to the washer at first but I began to notice pulled threads on my towels. Talked to Maytag customer service who said they had never heard of the problem. She did say mix the towels with other clothes to prevent the problem. When I got this machine we had about two dozen good quality towels. Now I am down to maybe a half dozen. Those came from the six my Dad bought us for Christmas and I stashed away. The towels have pulled threads all over and will be completely destroyed soon.

We purchased washer at Sears 6 years ago. Have had same issues for 5 or more years. Sears has been out to check it 6 to 7 times! They clean it out, tell me to use (expensive) Affresh tablets monthly, problem solved but it never is! When we run our washer and walk in laundry room it smells like a sewer. If we open lid its even worse. I use Norwex all naturally, biodegradable laundry detergent. There is nothing Ive done to create this smell. Its a manufactured problem that probably relates to ALL the other issues with this crappie washer that Maytag will do nothing about. I called Sears for 7th or 8th time, said they could send someone out AGAIN, I said thats a waste of my time and yours. They told me to call Maytag. They wont do anything (warranty is up). Of course there are NO ISSUES OR RECALLS on this washer and obviously there should be with not ONE good review! Im angry. You all should be too. We paid good $ for a product that used to have a good name and they are screwing us. I think we should ban together with a class action lawsuit. Please give me your thoughts. They know something isnt right and they shouldnt get away with this.

It’s a front loader, very quiet, and uses less water. The clothes come out clean and less wrinkled if you take advantage of the settings. l like the extra rinse and the drawer underneath. The capacity is able to accommodate enough clothes so I only need to do a load of darks and a load of whites each week.

MDB77495852 - I purchased a brand new Maytag dishwasher 2 years ago from Sears. A year later it broke down with what was apparent moisture in the control panel. Thankfully it was covered under warranty. Well guess what... it broke down again a year later and now just missed a year. But not it matters, the retailer (Sears) said it was not covered so Im supposed to pay about $300.00 to get it repaired. And figure I will have to do so next year also. I was told there is a Lemon Law for appliances but it does not kick in for 4 years. So after $900 in repairs I could get a replacement... REALLY? I think a recall is in order!

The big problem is Lowes and Home Dopey, I mean Depot. I am an appliance repairman for 30 years. Their machines are built to a lower spec. Buying same machine from mom n pop store will help! Will cost you more but it will last longer with less repairs! P.S., While Maytag does make some of their own appliances, when Whirlpool bought Maytag years ago they shut down the Newton, Iowa plant. Whirlpool builds that washer and puts Maytags name on it. If you want a good washer buy a Speed Queen, go online and check their reviews! One more thing, LG and Samsung build terrible appliances. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them, just saying!

The Maytag Dishwasher Model MDBTT50AWW started having problems cleaning dishes after about 3 years. I usually had to clean them first before placing in the washer. About 6 months ago (5 years of owning), some of the control panel buttons stopped working. Finally, the Start button stopped. Replacement part and service is about $400 per local appliance repair shop. They recommended buying a new dishwasher. They stated that the touch control panels have reduced the life of dishwashers to about 5 to 7 years. However, I had seen testimonials on the web of dishwashers lasting on average 9 years - not Maytags. I will be avoiding Maytag for next purchase. I have seen too many complaints online about the control panels dying. I consider myself lucky as my panel died after 5 years while many reviews say theirs died right after the 1-year warranty.

My freezer has been leaking from the bottom for a few months and now the icemaker has quit working as well. The refrigerator has been purchased less than two years ago. The warranty is expired. I will not fix this refrigerator, as it is a gigantic piece of junk. However I would like to be compensated by Maytag at least 1/3 of the price so I can have it removed from my house before it creates more damage to my floors and subfloors.

We bought a maytag dishwasher three years ago. Approximately nine moths later the control panel went bad. They came and replaced it. Approximately six months later they came again and replaced it. Approximately a few months later it went bad again. I complained to Home Depot and they replaced the dishwasher. Too bad they would not change the brand. Guess what? Here we sit, not quite two years later and again the control panel went bad just past the warranty. The cost to repair almost $470.00. Paid $525.00 for the dishwasher in the first place. I regret ever leaving whirlpool. Our first very heavily used dishwasher (whirlpool) lasted 11 years no problems.

The lonely salesman in the Maytag commercial for their washing machines says it all. The first Maytag washer we owned we used for 20 years and during that time had only a belt break one time which we replaced and used for a few more years. We then moved to a new home in 2006 and decided to purchase a new Maytag.

I purchased the Maytag refrigerator MFF2055DRM on 7/7/16 new. It was suppose to be stainless steel; but now I am seeing rust spots at the top and bottom of the French doors. I clean my refrigeration weekly and find it odd that now it is rusting. Also, I am able to place magnets on the doors - which should not be for stainless steel. In addition, I spend over $100 a year replacing the mandatory filters. I must also place the setting to high to maintain my milk and juices. I must also have to place them in the very back of the refrigeration. I am a single senior and my refrigeration is not overloaded with food; nor am I constantly in and out of the refridge. Not very happy.

Do NOT buy a Magtag washer. I purchased a brand new washer from Lowes in 2017. The washer gets stuck in the wash cycle. When I called Lowes, they said to call Maytag, who sent a service person out. The service person recalibrated the machine never ran a cycle and left. We had to call two more times after this for the same reason with the same result where the serviceman left without running a cycle. This was all while the product was under warranty. Since I had three service calls, I called Maytag frustrated that this kept happening to a new product. I was told there was nothing they could do, but if it happens again to have the service guy come back out. When the warranty runs out, I will have to pay for the service tech. Unbelievable. Save your time, money and frustration and buy a Whirlpool! I dont know how Maytag gets away with selling defective products.

I Hate this machine. It does an inferior job and I wish I never bought it. Our Bravos XL washer was purchased in spring. It left white residue constantly on my clothes. Even WORSE, the machine wrinkled the permanent press so the clothes had to be ironed before wearing. (I rarely had this with my last washer). I used the machine settings correctly and I called the company and basically...was told, Youre out of luck. I hoped that it would improve but No Way! Dont purchase this machine, dont waste your $$$.

I started hearing the Maytag Microwave MMV4203DW00 beeping this morning after breakfast. I had not used it since the night before to heat up soup in a Corning Ware bowl. Its doing that 5E thing and nothing on the control panel works. Ive unplugged it, waited, plugged it back in and the same thing. It starts off saying Select Clock and 5E and then stops on the 5E. I bought this in Aug. 2010 and it is vented out the wall. Of course, that doesnt work now. The metal rack has never been put in it. Im single and the only one who uses it and I dont use it very much either. And this model only got the one 40-watt regular bulb over the range - lousy. And it doesnt work now either. And the control panel lights up orange. Had I known that, I would have never bought it in the first place. Of course, the stupid orange 5E lights up. Im unplugging it for good. Its not worth fixing. Do not buy this microwave!

I purchased a Maytag model # MRT 18 FFFHO1 refrigerator from Home Depot. After 7 months, it stopped cooling (wouldnt cool below 52 degrees). Fortunately, I had taken out a 5-year extended warranty. Thats the good news. The bad news is that after numerous trips by a certified repair man -- and three spring/summer months without reliable refrigeration -- Home Depot promised a refund. Well see.Bottom line: keep looking for a refrigerator that works. I have tried GE, Frigidaire, Maytag and Sanyo. Since many of these companies are really just one inept cooperation with more names than Frank Abagnale (Catch Me If You Can), let the buyer beware! I would give Home Depot protection plan 5 stars, though. They stayed with me through thick and thin: by emails, phone calls and text messages. However, their protection plan is worth more than Home Depots appliance products -- through no fault of theirs.

We bought a Maytag dishwasher 4 years ago, we had to have it serviced a few months after purchase for the soap & rinse agent dispenser not working, then a few months after warranty was up the buttons on machine wouldnt work, the control panel failed so we had to pay for a new one and install it... Well last night exactly one year from the install of the new control panel I walked into my kitchen to find it full of smoke and the dishwasher pour out smoke, when my husband came home he took the door off and sure enough the control panel was burnt and melted! Very scary. It is a very good thing I was home and this is why I never leave appliances running if I am not home.

I had a stove my mom bought for me 26 years ago. Still worked perfect. Used constantly. In 2018 my husband had to have this stove. Said no my stove my mom bought and still works perfect sentimental plus three children using it. Not one problem. So he buys this Maytag stove I didn’t like but don’t cook much warming things up or frozen pizza. Go to our sons for holidays. Always next day cook a turkey for sandwiches. Open the door which is too heavy. Wouldn’t close and called my husband. Got it semi closed. Said we’re not eating it. He proceeds to cook. Door opened. More turkey is in garbage. My husband started reading. I also did. Looks like these Maytag stoves are garbage. Make a lot of money for repairs. Now this goes to dump. No one stands behind their products. I purchased my Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer several years ago, and I have hated them ever since. The clothes smell and are wrinkled. The dryer never gets the clothes dry. It will run and run and run, and the clothes will still be wet. I previously owned a Maytag Washer/Dryer for nearly 20 years and never had a problem. This set is a piece of junk. When I go to Lowes or any store for that matter and see someone considering this product, I warn them as quickly as possible to stay away from this product. I will continue to do so. Shame on you, Maytag, for making such a horrible product and for being too weak to stand behind your product. I will never buy Maytag again and will do my best to make sure none else does either.

This dryer ripped a gaping hole with sharp shards of metal exposed. It was working fine, and then it made a weird noise. It stopped and I assumed my laundry was done. We go to remove clothing and cut hand open on exposed metal. As if that wasnt bad enough, several hundreds of dollars in clothing had cuts in them. This dryer worked great for years, and out of the blue this happened. Im a widowed disabled mother, and cant afford a new dryer.

I bought a French door refrigerator on May 23, 2012. It is now July 9, 2014 and the repairman has told me the compressor is bad. Maytag will do nothing about it because it is out of the 1 year warranty. I am very disappointed because I thought I was buying a quality appliance. I will never purchase another Maytag appliance!

I saw something on your website about Maytag Neptune class action suit back in late 2005. I have owned one, never was notified of the settlement, and saw this since I have a mildew problem also in my washer. They are not willing to do anything about the repair on my machine, but send out someone and make me pay for it. Since I bought it in 2002, I would want to know why was I not included in the repairs and why wont they honor me in this since I am the machines original owner. Help, I worry that I am not having clean clothes and it is contributing to illness due to mold spores!

Both my washer and dryer are Maytag. Dryer element shorted out but was still under warranty so was fixed. Washer is very loud and now makes a rattling sound. Every so often it will hang in the middle of a cycle and the lid wont open until I unplug it.

Purchased washer March 2017 and had to get it repaired twice by the end of 2018. The top loader even with agitator does not clean clothes very well. The repairman said not to fill the washer above halfway so I can only wash about 4 pair of my husbands heavy soiled work jeans. I won’t buy another Maytag.

I am very dissatisfied with this washer (Maytag Washer Bravos XL), it doesnt use enough water to cover the clothes. No matter which cycle you use, the clothes dont come clean. Who cares about water sensing if your laundry isnt clean. I will not buy another water sensing machine, I think the consumer should make that call on how full to fill the washer. Even on power wash the small agitator turns slowly. Not happy with this machine at all.

We purchased a refrigerator in December 2013. It quit working less than 8 months later. The company contracted to repair it made us wait 4 days for service; they did not repair the unit. We are now expected to wait another 4 days for them to return. STAY AWAY from Maytag!!!

Our Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 is anything but quiet. Within two years of purchasing it, we now hear an F18 jet fighter taking off from our laundry room. Neighbors near and far come running to avoid getting injured when the spin cycle kicks into after burner. Seriously though, this looked to be a nice machine and operated flawlessly until a month ago when the spin cycle started sounding like a jet fighter taking off. I am handy and often fix appliances and things around the house. From reading reviews here on Consumer Affairs and other places, I am finding that the noise problems are more common than not. Investing $400+ into a replacement tub/bearing set would further support Whirlpool/Maytag and the sucking sound they make to get at my wallet. From what I have read, I am likely to have more problems after fixing this one (it will likely break again). I am going to quit while I am ahead and purchase a new washer. Whirlpool/Maytag will never see my business again. Its ludicrous to have an expensive appliance like a washer only last two years. BTW, I just spent $200 to replace the control panel on my 4-year old Maytag dishwasher. A cheap and horrible design. The part probably cost $10 to make. BOHICA. (bend over, here it comes again). FYI: Whirlpool owns and sells its products under several other appliance names. Names that include, Kenmore (yes, Sears), Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Gladiator GarageWorks, Inglis, Estate, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Consul (Wikipedia source). Like a Lotto Scratcher, peel the Whirlpool or Maytag name sticker off and underneath you will find the real name... CRAP! Its sad to think that you have to purchase products made in Korea to get quality. Very sad.

There should be a recall. Just look at the number of people complaining about this same exact occurrence about the control panel not activating. Im on my second control panel in 24 months. Some people are on their fourth already. Give me a break. There needs to be a recall and a redesign of this thing, which turned out to be a piece of junk washer.

I purchased top of the line Maytag washer and dryer in 1975! They are Harvest Gold. They were sold last week along with my house. I now have Whirlpool appliances in the rental apartment I moved to. There are some irritating features.

We updated our 25 years old dishwasher, which ironically still worked, to a Maytag we bought at a BrandsMart in GA in November 2010. Sixteen months later, the unit just died. The panel would light up, but would not run. We contacted Maytag and were assigned a repairman (The Appliance Guy) who could not come to fix the dishwasher until 5 days later. Once he finally showed up, I was informed by him that the control panel for the dishwasher had two shorts in it and it would be cheaper for me to just buy a new dishwasher because the repair to this one would be $344.44. When I contacted the customer service for Maytag, they offered to let me pay for the repairs and then they would give me a six month service warranty for free. Does that make sense to anyone? I could buy a totally different brand, brand-spanking-new and have a twelve month warranty with a better product. I asked to speak with Cheris boss and got to speak with Aaron, who offered me the same spiel. Heavily scripted, I apologize that you are dissatisfied, but all we can do is give you the service warranty for six months after you pay for the repair. I asked him if he was reading a script and he replied no. Now I know that he had probably repeated these same words twenty times a day. Heres a thought, Maytag claims to be a green company, using less electricity and water, and saving the customers money and yet they are filling up all the landfills with these appliances that are not even five years old. How is that being a green company?You know how when you buy a nice new button-up shirt? The makers of that good quality shirt go ahead and sew an extra button on the inside bottom part of the shirt because they know that theres a chance youll lose a button. Well, Im thinking that Maytag should just start shipping a couple extra control panels in every box of Maytag dishwashers. Crazy idea, right? Okay, so an easier and cheaper way for Maytag to correct the problem is to stop making dishwashers. Go back to the drawing board, make the engineer who designed the control panel wash everyones dishes (as punishment and he can get help from the customer service people because theyre really doing nothing), start building the old design dishwasher that has the old switch and dial, and start respecting their customers. I have a Maytag Neptune (model number MAH5500BWW and serial number 85981207AE). On February 22, 2012, the washer started smoking and a burn smell was apparent. Fire department was called. They pinpointed issue to the washer. On February 23, 2012, I spoke with Brenda from the Safety Department. She prioritized a diagnosis from a local certified technician. We purchased a Maytag dishwasher at Home Depot in White Bear, MN in November of 2011. The dishwasher just quit running last week and the repair person told us the control board needs replacement. We will have the control panel replaced but have determined this machine is of very poor quality and will never buy a Maytag appliance again.

I purchased the Legacy series washer and dryer from Home Depot in 2005. For the first 3 years, the washer worked fine. Since then, it has all been downhill. When I use bleach, I have to run an empty load because for whatever reason, the bleach goes through to the next load which has resulted in a number of ruined clothes. The wash cycle leaves clothes dirty and some even come out partially dry?! The rinse cycle does not always work as more times than not, the fabric softener is still in the dispenser cup. The spin cycle is getting worse with each load. Sometimes I reset the spin cycle as many as three times at which point I hand wring the clothes. This creates a strain on the dryer as I have to run it extra long to dry the clothes. I am more disappointed than I can say. I will never purchase anything Maytag again and I will not purchase from the company who makes Maytag products.

Bought a new Maytag dishwasher in July 2013. In December it quit working and the problem was the control panel. The service tech knew automatically what the problem was when he arrived. It is now May 2014 and the control panel has gone out again. Contacted Maytag and was told they will extend the warranty another six months from the original warranty. After reading that this has been offered to others with mixed results I have my doubts on whether it will be honored. This is our last Maytag appliance.

My wife & I purchased our Maytag dishwasher model # MDBH979SAB1 on 3/8/13 from homedepot.com. Approximately 24.5 months later our dishwasher experienced control panel light button malfunctions similar in description to the many other consumer complaints on this & other forums. I would like to share some additional information based on my research about this issue and possible fix. The source of Whirlpools control panel issue is design related. The issue is caused from moisture which induces oxidation on the Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) cable that is integrated with the control panel and connects via connector to the electronic control box. The issue usually manifests itself on the cable just where it bends coming out of the touch membrane panel.The oxidization of the FPC cable eventually creates electronic shorts or opens between the parallel traces thus causing the panel control lighted function problem which disables the dishwasher from being used. The cable, since integrated with the control panel, is not a separate replaceable part. In order to repair, the Whirlpool diagnostic action is to replace the entire control panel. I quickly learned after doing some online research about Whirlpools control panel issue that it extends back to at least 2011 with control panel part # W10475784 and corresponding or like PNs of this design. The number of control panels sold of this design by various online appliance part centers coincide with the high number of reported like control panel failures.In just 2015 alone so far, the sales for this control panel have been in the hundreds. This indicates that Whirlpool continues to replace defectively designed control panels upon failure with defectively designed control panels. There was also a class action lawsuit filed against Whirlpool in the state of California on May 6th, 2013 for the control panel issue. The filed lawsuit is public & the whole document is available online as a pdf file. Unfortunately, Judge **, granted Stipulation to Dismiss Case with prejudice 74 on 5/23/14. I was unable to find out any details as to why the case was dismissed. I did not call Whirlpool about my control panel issue, instead I handled all correspondence through Email to them at WHIRLPOOL_CUSTOMEREXPERIENCE@WHIRLPOOL. COM.My initial correspondence included all the facts about this issue & that I did not wish to have their warranty coverage/period explained to me for I understood them, the problem was a quality issue, and just basically wanted to know what they were going to do or have been doing about resolution. The email correspondence with them got me nowhere. They initially replied back with all the form niceties like We apologize, We understand your frustration, & We value you as a customer, but denied every knowing about such control panel issue, regurgitated their warranty policy & period and were unwilling to resolve anything. In their last reply they stated how unfortunate it was that customers only take the time to provide negative feedback!! This is just bad business, and though I would not like to think it, but the control panel issue may have been by marketing design.Please keep in mind that Whirlpool manufactures appliances under at least 15 different name brands including Maytag, Kenmore, Admiral Kirkland, KitchenAid, Roper, Speed Queen to name a few. All is not lost, being an electronics engineer I looked into the do it yourself fix. If you are not comfortable in doing this, you may be able to find someone to help. I was able to repair mine by carefully scraping off the oxidation from the FPC cable (will appear brown in color) & encapsulating it with high density 100% dampening silicon (non-caulk type) to protect it from moisture & withstand heat. There can be other ways of protecting it from moisture instead of silicon, just make sure it can withstand heat, wont become brittle, & that it may not cause potential damage to the cable itself.My repair has worked for about 4 weeks now, & shows no sign of oxidizing. The problem may be more severe if the oxidation has actually opened or broke one or more of the small cable traces. Do not attempt to solder this cable! Its way too thin & will only make matters worse. An open can be carefully bridged with a conductive glue or ink thats on the market. One source is a window defogger repair kit product thats sold at auto stores that has a conductive glue in it. Post open repairs will need to be checked with an ohm meter to make sure repair is good and that any adjacent trace lines have not been shorted by repair. Of those of you that have just bought or had installed Whirlpools defective control panel, please encapsulate the FPC cable as soon as possible to protect it from moisture. If you dont, it will surely oxidize again over time.

We purchased the Maytag over the range microwave December 2014. Three months after installing it the door cracked. Maytag did replace the door and the repairman thought it might be due to the heat from the stove (huh, it was designed to go over the stove, where there will be heat). Now, six months after that, the layers of plastic on the door are separating and the piece around the control panel is cracked. Maytag agreed to replace the control panel but refuse to replace the door as it is only cosmetic (their words). So much for paying a little extra for what we thought would be a quality product. It seems to me that if something was made to go over the stove, it should be made to withstand the heat.

Maytag, you left me disillusioned and disappointed. I used to believe you, trust you. How am I going to feed my kids without a fridge? I bought our side-by-side French door refrigerator a few years ago and even bought the extended warranty (which no longer is in effect, unfortunately). Yesterday, the refrigerator failed, We called a small local repair person who could be at my home in a couple of hours. He listened and said my compressor was out, a leak was probably in there too, and that it would cost about 900 dollars or more to repair. When I called Maytag to see what they thought, they said that because I called a non-Maytag assigned repair person (even though this small-business repair guy didnt even take apart the refrigerator), I could no longer get their repair plus one year warranty offer which runs 400 dollars. But there is nothing I see on their warranty page that says this. Here I was trying to help our local economy by calling a small mom-and-pop repair person who is known in our town and has a good reputation, but I guess that by doing that minor well-intentioned act, it goes against Maytag corporate policy. Wow, how foolish do I feel now? I feel ashamed to admit this, but I actually started crying when I was on the phone with their customer help rep and asked, Isnt there something that can be done? I was thinking to myself that two months after Christmas with three kids is a tough time to replace a 1300-dollar refrigerator. I offered to pay the 400 dollars to get the refrigerator fixed by a sanctioned Maytag official with their warranty, but that I didnt know that I wasnt supposed to call anyone else besides Maytag if my appliances broke down. I would have never called our small local guy if I had known that Maytag corporate had such a policy. She said that no, there was nothing that she could do, and that is what happens to customers who call a non-Maytag assigned repair person. I guess when this happens to your fridge, you ask your neighbors if they can keep some milk, lunch meat and cheese for you, at least until you can save up for another fridge. Thank goodness that dried pasta and Ragu sauce dont have to be refrigerated. There are also cans of peas and corn and dry cereal, so it should be okay.I cant express how absolutely disappointed I am with myself and with my purchase, and how this has soured me on everything Maytag. I feel like an idiot. Can you believe that I had actually scrimped and saved up for months to buy this Maytag refrigerator and the extended warranty (hah, just to be safe)? I had bought it because I thought Maytag was a reputable company and because it was supposed to help the environment with its energy saving technology. But dont you think that a $1300 refrigerator should last more than 7 years (Believe it or not, this newer Maytag fridge was replacing a 20-year-old fridge that I gave to my cousins and which is still running to this day!)? And to add insult to injury, I already had a major repair done 4 years ago on this same French door Maytag fridge when it was only 3 years old. I wonder how often someone says a rosary for her and her workers taking on those endless calls for help. How often does she cry herself to sleep after a day of that?I really dont like complaining online and I rarely do it, but this experience was just so awful and hopeless that I feel I had to say something to save other people pain and money. I hope that everyone learns from my miserable Maytag mistakes and please pass on my experiences to all of your friends and family. I bought this washing machine 2 years ago or so. We have always bought Maytag. My mother still has hers she bought over 25 years ago and it still looks and works great. So my wife wanted a new washing machine so I said were going to get another Maytag. Boy did I screw up. What a piece of ** junk. Sounds like its grinding gears all the time, so loud. I close the door in the wash room and I can still hear my investment on a Maytag grinding my nerves because I spent so much on a product of a brand Maytag that I thought would be around for a while. Do not buy a Maytag.

Had the new set for over a month now and are very impressed. If you actually know how to do laundry, and dont load it up to the top with greasy, dirt filled work clothes, etc. (like some **) you will have no problem lol. We have Absolutely nothing bad to say about Maytag products, and the new set is amazing!!!!

We are in the process of replacing the 2nd control board in the past 2 years (have has this dishwasher for 3 yrs) on our Maytag dishwasher model MD87749AWW1. The lights on the panel completely quit working mid cycle. At $175 per replacement, we are into repairs for half of what we paid for the dishwasher. Bought Maytag because it is made in the USA but found out that a majority of the parts are imported from China? Very disappointing.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

We purchased a French door Maytag refrigerator model MFD2561HEB in November 2007. In August 2008, the unit stopped working suddenly. The high voltage control board was replaced under warranty, but the tech could not determine why the board failed. I called Maytag to demand a new refrigerator. The best they would do was to extend the warranty for 6 months, no charge. The unit quit twice more in September. A tech was summoned (paid service call), nothing found. It started working again. Since then, the thing has quit several times. We unplug, move all food to a second refrigerator, wait a day, plug it in, and move the food back. The useless box quit completely this week, not quite 5 years of service life. The tech said the board must be replaced again, no guarantee. We declined. I called Maytag again to demand a new replacement and escalated the complaint. They are to call back, ha! In the 5 years of poor service (and poor customer service) from Maytag, the 30-year old second refrigerator has been up to the task of preserving our food. This experience has made me vow never to do business with a Whirlpool-affiliated brand again.

This so called high efficiency washing machine, and others like it are absolutely awful. They do not properly clean clothes. I frequently have to put loads of clothes through two or even three times in order to get things cleaned properly which our old washer did easily in one wash. That is the exact opposite of efficient. It is so bad that it actually borders on being a genuine scam. Do not buy! Huge waste of money.

In 2011 we purchased a complete appliance grouping at Home Depot by Maytag to include the dishwasher. For some reason we neglected to purchase an extended warranty on the dishwasher. Lo and behold in 2013 our control panel went bad and the cost to repair it was almost as much as purchasing a new dishwasher. Thinking this was a fluke we were dumb enough to purchase another Maytag from Home Depot due to the loyalty made in the USA. Well here we are 2015 not even a full two years later the control panel started acting funny a few days ago and yesterday just plain old QUIT. Fortunately we were wise enough to purchase an extended warranty plan on this dishwasher so tomorrow we will be calling the repairman. Unfortunately Maytag has never solved the problem that has been occurring for at least 5 years and continues to sell this product to unsuspecting schmucks like us who try to be true to the made in the USA slogan. The Maytag Bravos XL low water washing machine is very disappointing. About 20% of the time it needs a second rinse because there isnt enough water released to rinse clothing. Forget washing anything large. It just doesnt do it. Waste of money. The matching dryer is just fine - no complaints.

Was so excited to get this machine so that I could wash larger loads, including blankets, but unfortunately the machine didnt really clean as expected. That was very frustrating, but even more upsetting was when it began to sound like a jet engine when in the spin cycle. In researching this online, we have discovered that it is probably the bearings. When we called for service from the local store where we purchased the washer and dryer, we were told that it will likely cost at least $600 to repair. We have looked online to see if it is something that we can do ourselves, but really dont want to attempt this as it will require some heavy lifting and a lot of time. I am amazed that a machine like this would fail in such a short period of time and would like to add my name to the list of people who will not buy Maytag again! If a class action suit is ever filed against Maytag for this poor excuse for a washer, count me in, but unfortunately I will probably need to buy a new one before much longer.

I bought a Maytag Range with the Aqualift feature 3 years ago. Worse purchase every, the oven clean option (Aqualift) is useless. It do not work at all, be prepared to spend hours cleaning. I followed manufacturers instructions and its useless, after running the cleaning cycle three times I gave up and starting cleaning for hours.

I thought I was nuts - only 2 of water in a full machine of bedding or clothes. I agree with all the other one star remarks - clothes still dirty, still dry, hardly any water and if you use the bedding selection, it takes nearly 2 hours to wash a load and then it doesnt spin dry so you have to rinse and spin again. Very disappointed with the machine. Yes - class action lawsuit? How do we do this.

This review is pretty simple, if you have kids, do not buy this washer! I just went to the local wholesale guy after almost 8 months of using this POS, and spent $200 on a older agitator machine, after the first load my 7 year old close came clean of dirt! There is literally no water and the motion of the drum, it is almost impossible for this machine to clean clothes. I really am surprised that no one has started a class action. And to anyone saying the are hog farmers and work outside and get dirty? I would love to see it first hand. I am going to post on YouTube and show what this machine really does. Think about this before you buy, We all get hooked on how big it is, thinking you can do 4 loads at once, but trust me the low water thing is real! How do you clean clothes with no water! You will regret this purchase. And I am a Maytager for life! So disappointing.

We bought a Maytag Bravos XL assuming that because of the brand name it would be a great machine. WRONG. This washer is truly awful. Every single load of darks comes out covered in soap scum. I always have to rewash every dark load with no soap for a full normal cycle in order to get the scum off. My whites are probably also scummy but often I just throw them in the dryer as I cant see the scum. Its just a very, very poorly designed machine that obviously wasnt tested before they started manufacturing and selling it. Its criminal how Maytag continued to sell this piece of junk, and Ill never trust their brand again.

I love my gas stove. Mine is a five burner in white. Easy to clean and an accurate baking oven. Keeping the burner area clean IS a constant chore with a white surface. It would be lovely if the company made liners to catch the mess, but alas, I make my own with aluminum foil. This is an excellent stove and I’d buy it again! No buyers remorse.

In July 2001 my husband and I purchased a 6-year old home. We are still here. We have replaced the refrigerator, oven and microwave - all in stainless steel. I am still waiting for the Maytag dishwasher to wear out. It has never been repaired because it has never broken down. Cleans dishes and silverware great.

Washer Model MVWC555DWO. I dont like this machine. I thought Maytag is a good brand name, but I dont think so anymore. The engineers who designed these new machines with the water level saver dont do laundry. In order to get the cloth covered with water, I have to use the bulky sheet level. I have 2 jeans and a sheet that got holes in them, because the water level was not right. I would have my old machine repaired, if I have know how my new one would do. Im stuck with this machine. I dreaming that this machine breaks down soon and I can buy a new that has a better water level. My old one had water saver level too, but did a great job with the water level.

Ive had my Maytag refrigerator for 19 years and it still performs well. I keep it clean both inside and underneath. The lighting is one aspect I really appreciate as there are two bulbs in the interior so theres never a problem seeing all the contents. Also appreciated are the movable shelves on the door and the ability to raise or lower the main shelves in the body of the fridge.

Maytag WASHING MACHINE MVWC200XW - Will not clean our clothing. We have been tolerant of Maytags disregard for the people who have trusted their product and name over many years. No longer will we purchase a new Maytag or Whirlpool product. They say third time is the charm but I can not afford to take the chance. I wish them luck, they will need it.

Updated on 10/09/2019: Well I wrote a review on my brand new Maytag washer that we bought at Lowes in June. When I wrote the last review I was waiting for our repair. They did come to repair and I was told by the repair guy (keep in mind the washer was only 2 months old at the time) that there were 3 fail codes. He said that it was overloaded or loaded wrong.That you cant wash towels with sheets, you cant wash any kind of rug no matter the size, which I only wash small bathroom rugs that are NOT oversized or heavy, you cant wash tennis shoes (which I have not). So I asked him what is the point of investing in what is supposed to be a top of the line, heavy duty, extra large tub, commercial washer? He said that you cant do that with any machine. I told him our old washer that we had 13 years had no problem with washing towels & sheets together. My point is that I am 100% disappointed in this washer & I encourage you to NOT buy Maytag, apparently they no longer live up to their brand.Original Review: We did our research & comparing & this machine came up on top. Its size suites our needs & we were excited about all the great features. We purchased it in mid July of 2019 so its 2 months old & for the last month it started to shut off in the middle of a wash cycle. At first we thought that maybe we were doing something wrong. So we would re-start it & it worked. Fast forward 3 weeks, it was doing it almost every time. Now it isnt working at all, it starts to fill up then shuts down before it starts to wash.Today is a Friday & I called Maytag to request a service call under the warranty (60 days old) Maytag had me on hold for 19 minutes before I could even talk to someone! The customer service person (once she was on) was very nice & sympathetic but couldnt get anyone out to service our machine until Tuesday, which is a HUGE inconvenience since we have not been able to wash for the last 3 days. I am highly disappointed in the machine for the simple reason that I paid for a new topnotch machine because my old one that 13 years old finally gave out & now am in the same situation & in for $1000 I paid for this new washer & having to go pay to do laundry 2 MONTHS later! I will add to my review once they have performed the service call to see if the issue is resolved or the machine replaced if they cant fix it.

The dishwasher stopped working. The lights on left side of control panel arent working; so, machine wont start. Then machine was purchased in January 2010 for $525 and not including installation. Kim says it will cost $129 for their repairman to come look at it. I wished I had read the list of complaints on your site first.

I can’t seem to get any help with my dryer. I have replaced the drum 2 times and thermostat 3 times. Model number is mde9700ayw. Serial number is 13229569gp. I simply want a new dryer that works.

All in all I have liked my electric range, but I have 2 issues that I am having trouble resolving. I bought the range in 2003 and to find the model number I have to pull the range out from the cupboards on each side which would be extremely difficult under the circumstances. The reason I want to get the model number is so that I might find replacement parts for the doors edging that has flaked and rusted and is quite unattractive.

I had a Kenmore that lasted 20 years. This didnt last 5. Paid a lot of money for a disposable washer. Red in color on top of that. When I bought I did my research and had good reviews. Dont buy any new technology -- not enough data. This a POS. No more Maytag for me. Spoke to a repairman -- water leaking from the bottom and bearings are out -- was told it was a bad design. 951.00 -- energy guide said the annual cost to operate was 30.00 a year -- my calculation is 30.00 + 190.00 = 220.00. What a ripoff. Never a Maytag for me again. I only really needed a dryer but thought that I would update and just get a matching set for my women. Now we will be going back to an unmatched set. What a terrible purchase. Review says 5 star -- that is for the Consumer Affairs -- not the washer.

I purchased my machine on June 2, 2021 and it was delivered and installed on June 4. I have successfully done two loads of laundry. On June 9, I attempted washing two small bath mats and 2 dish towels. When I returned to the laundry room to place the load in my dryer, I found the the items in soapy water. I tried many times to reset the load with no success. On June 10th I called Maytag’s customer service and spoke with an associate who walked me through a couple of common quick fixes. These also were unsuccessful. She referred me to warranty service. I will not be able to have my machine repaired until June 23rd! Obviously, if their repair department is so overwhelmed, the products they sell are a piece of junk. I am furious with both the product and the service I have received.

The digital display on our Maytag Washer model MVWB765FW, bought 3/22/2017, failed overnight (whilst the machine was not operating) after 3 1/2 years. A reputable firm came out and diagnosed the problem, their report concluded that the Control Board had failed and needed replacing: they provided a verbal quote of $525 [ ! ] to do that. The machine cost $600 and based on the expected life for washers (per Consumer Reports) of ten years would have a maximum residual value of $420 based on straight-line depreciation. The retailer from whom we bought the washer told us that he had contacted Maytag and asked them what they were prepared to do about this failure: a week later and absolutely no response from the manufacturer. Apparently Maytag has no concern for their customers or their own reputation. We made the mistake of buying this machine based on Maytag’s reputation and a ten year warranty which appears to cover only parts unlikely to fail! NO MORE MAYTAGS FOR US.

It is actually an older model Maytag set that I bought used 4.5 yrs ago. I am very impressed how its held up and how fresh our clothes are still. I have always loved Maytag and will buy again if needed.

I have only had this machine for 2 weeks after having a Maytag since 1994. Even broken, my old machine was far superior to this one, a Maytag Bravos. Fortunately, the salesman noted that I wouldnt be happy with this machine but, thanks to a government mandate, all new machines behave in a similar manner to save water and energy. This agitator-less machine neither washes nor rinses the clothes/bedding/towels properly. It takes four times as long to wash the items but doesnt get them nearly as clean. Today, I put 2 pairs of shorts, 2 T-shirts and a standard bed-sized mattress cover in to wash. The mattress cover never even got thoroughly wet even though I used the deep wash and extra rinse settings. Last week I put sheets in the sheet setting only to have them come out totally wrinkled and stiff as a board with soap even though I used the recommended amount of detergent. This is a disaster. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag and the U.S. Govt. A river and a flat rock would work better!

Bought a dishwasher about 2 years ago, through Home Depot. After it was installed, contacted Maytag to let them know that it didnt seem to be working correctly. They sent out a repairman, who looked at the machine, and then told us that with the new eco friendly settings, it would be best to let the dishes dry overnight. It seems that the company and its employees dont know [or care] about the product. Contacted their service/helpline to let them know that the screws on the insides of the latch [on the cover] are NOT screwing into anything, they come loose. Person couldnt find same in his system, finally sent screw, but they were the wrong size and didnt work. Just opened the dishwasher this AM, after washing the dishes last night. 12 hours later and they still are not dry. This isnt eco, this is something that is wrong that Maytag doesnt want to address. Buy something else!!!

At first you think wow Maytag. Have heard was the best washer. WRONG. Clothes come out dry in spots. Not washing like it should. Whoever came up with this water saver and no agitator was crazy. Clothes dont get washed properly. Give me an old school washer to where my clothes get clean. When you have to wash clothes twice makes your power bill soar through the roof. NOT GOOD MAYTAG. NOT GOOD AT ALL.

My new Maytag washing machine does NOT CLEAN clothes or anything else. Waste of money. I have soft water, use bleach, hot water, Tide. I have even tried adding some baking soda. No use. I cannot wait until I can find a washing machine that works.

Purchased 6 11 21 from Menards. $1100.00. With extended warranty $134.99. Lid lock inoperative on 9 11 21. Called Menards, past 30 days. They will not help. Called Maytag, took 2 weeks to get a diagnosis on issue, while technician was there week of 28th the motherboard fired. Another month, part came in October 23rd then wiring harness fired, and pump also. 1 week for parts, which were replaced, Technician came and was stumped as it still doesnt work. Diagnosis after this appointment for the pump replacement is clutch, rotor & stator are fried.Nov 18th, new rotor came in and Technician says although brand new in box, it is defective from factory. New one ordered. In meantime I have called maytag every week with no results, they tried to get me to accept 100.00 gift card, I laughed, as we are a family of 6 and generally have 6-8 loads a week. And have spent on average 70.00 a week for the last 14 weeks, we could have bought another washer by now. Last maytag lasted 16 years! This one 3 months...They finally decided to replace it, but we wont recieved it for another 4-5 weeks. So, 20 - 22 weeks of no brand new washer bought in good faith, brand rep, and paid for based on prior experience. So far, No customer service, No brand reputation, No product longevity. I will never buy another maytag, ever. If you only had negative stars to award this useless product. This is almost criminal, and is close to being fraudulent and willfully deceitful. It is false advertising and to date they have not really stood behind their product...

Purchased my Bravos June 2012. This is a horrible washer. It does not clean. It leaves a detergent scum line on clothing. My work clothes are visibly soiled and sometimes come out in a tangled mess. Maytag ignored a first complaint from my wife. I complained again today. Regardless what Maytag does, I will purchase another brand after research. We bought on Maytag’s reputation.

Never waste your money and buy Maytag washer. Mine is XL large tub and has extra wash for extra clean. Dont waste your money. Never fills up with enough water. Almost everytime I wash I have to rewash the load because the clothes are still dirty, have soap spots and most of the time the clothes didnt even get wet. Horrible Horrible washer!!! My water bill has gone up a lot because I have to rewash the load so thats twice... I cant even use the XL tub because it wont fill up with water. Horrible product. Cant believe Maytag is still in business. They dont stand behind product. Called. Complained. They gave me nothing except for some free pods to clean a washer thats only 6 months old. Ive tried every cycle to see which one will wash the best. Still Horrible Horrible. Doesnt get anything cleaned. Here I thought nothing could get worse than a front loader? Well the Maytag is worse Horrible product. Dont buy. Dont waste your money. Try another brand!!!

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer and companion dryer in March 2018. I like to wash our king size bedding often and liked that this model had no agitator and could accompany the large loads. I am using the extra rinse constantly since I dont trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. Tshirts are twisted and wrinkled and half wet. I end up rewashing almost everything then being a guardian for the dryer---checking and rechecking every load. Maytag says sorry, its out of warranty. I absolutely hate these appliances!

We bought our refrigerator 14 months ago and it has a 10 yr limited parts warranty. Both the freezer and refrigerator quit working, right after we spent $600 in groceries. I called the warranty dept and the soonest they could get here to service it, was 9 days later cause they only go thru Diamond Preferred, to do the repairs. Then on the 9th day, Diamond Preferred calls to let us know that unfortunately, they cant get here to fix it until another 5 DAYS!! Two weeks with NO refrigerator and freezer, is ridiculous. They should pay another repair place to come out instead of just relying on the ONE!! Our food is now ruined, $600 worth. And to top it off, weve had to eat out costing us more money, and then once its finally fixed, we have to go buy more groceries. I will NEVER buy a Maytag appliance, ever again!

I bought a Maytag Top Loader. I soon discovered that it is not possible to do a cold water wash. After much communication with Maytag Customer Service it was determined that there is no way to bypass it. And it uses a lot of hot water, even on a cold wash. Their explanation was that the water needed to be a certain temperature to make the detergent work effectively. The same detergent that I’ve been using for 40 years with cold water in my Speed Queen. When I need to do a cold water wash, I go to my parents home and use their washer. Disappointing purchase, my last Maytag, for sure.

We bought a Maytag dishwasher on 9/22/2012. Model number MDB7759SAB. Within the past couple of months, it has been very temperamental. The control panel started beeping continuously and some of the functions wouldnt work anymore while others continued to work too well; in that the dishwasher on occasion would rewash several times without anyone starting the machine again. The dishwasher also started leaking water... As of yesterday, the dishwasher control panel stopped responding and then out of the blue, the dishwasher turned itself on in the middle of the night! We called customer service and they said they could send a repairman out for around $89 and then we would have to pay for the parts needed and the cost of labor. After reading many reviews sounding exactly the same as mine, my husband and I are against repairing this lousy machine. Its absolutely ridiculous for a dishwasher to quit unexpectedly like this. Our question now is, which brand to purchase for our next dishwasher? No more junk please!!

This machine was purchased two years ago at the Home Depot. I wanted a top loader that was not digital and without a lot of choices. It has been nothing but a headache with every wash. I had a Maytag serviceman come out immediately and he said nothing was wrong. Every wash load I do, has problems. The dark loads are always full of white spots and the towels are torn up. Just bought some new towels and after the first wash, they were ruined. I will never ever buy a Maytag machine. These new He machines are ridiculous! I no longer have a receipt, but the complaint should help consumers in their decision to NOT buy a Maytag machine.
