I purchased a Maytag double door refrigerator in 2012. So far the deli drawer has broken 3 times in the same way. There is a plastic peg attached to a side panel on the refrigerator. This pin breaks off after a few months of use. To repair it, you have to replace the entire side panel. The parts and labor costs are about $200 each time. It is obviously a design flaw that Maytag should fix. If you repair it every time it breaks, in about 8 years your repair costs are more than your original purchase price for the refrigerator. Dont buy Maytag products. They are inferior.

Ive had my Maytag (above range model) for about 4 months. The same as everyone else with open/close door error. Faulty door switch. When the interior light doesnt come on, I know I will get the error. You would think Maytag would have already repaired or replaced this door switch part.

Had our house built in 2009 and the builder carry Maytag Appliances. After 3 years every single appliances start giving us problems. First the refrigerator not getting cold, got it fixed. Then the dishwasher panel, then the built-in microwave, then washing machine. Just the other day the refrigerator broke down again and I was told the compressor was bad. Really? Whats going with this company? All the appliances from this maker dont have longevity. I have 20 year older refrigerator from GE and its still working. Please do not buy this garbage... Its a waste of your hard-earned money.

At 14 months old Main computer box failed, caused the machine to shut down on unbalanced load ($400). At 28 months old Main computer box failed, caused the machine to shut down on unbalanced load. In addition when the service guy was underneath the machine to change the module he noticed the stator housing to the motor was falling off. He said he never saw anything like it. After reading about all the problems people have with these machines I have talked friends and relatives out of making the same mistake of buying an old and trusted brand like Maytag. .

We have a Maytag Neptune washer we purchased new in 2001. The Neptune was useless on My mechanic clothes, but good for delicates and blankets so we have an old style washer to clean my regular clothes. The Neptune was at work on a blanket when we smelled it burning. With it unplugged, I got around to investigating the situation and found the motor control was shorted and burned. I tried calling Maytag. I was asking about an upgraded part or recall. They didnt want to help. The representative was condescending and after I listened to her attitude, she said someone would be in touch. NOTHING. Now I see these suits and I guess I understand. My house could have burned down - they dont care. Maytag is garbage and Im sorry I ever thought otherwise.

I loved my first Maytag combo unit and when that quit I bought another Maytag. The Neptune is a front load washer. I immediately noticed the door gasket getting moldy. I contacted Maytag whose response was leave the door open. Well, I did that and not only did I still get mold, but the light burned out. I recently started having trouble - the water doesnt drain and the clothes are still wet. Rather than have it repaired, I elected to buy a new washer/dryer unit. I would NEVER again have a front load washer and certainly not Maytag.

I am about to replace the control panel on my Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749SAM1) for the second time since purchasing it in 2012. Additionally, I have replaced the door gasket twice, as it becomes loose and does not properly seal, causing water to leak from the door during the wash cycle. There are many documented complaints of corrosion on the control panel ribbon cable necessitating replacement of the entire unit. If there were a way to replace the ribbon cable instead of the entire panel, it might be a bit easier to swallow the repair expense. Either way, it is ridiculous to have to spend almost 1/3 the original cost of the dishwasher to make it usable again, and twice in only 5 years time! My previous dishwasher was 30 years old and still functioning (though noisily) when I replaced it with this expensive lemon. I have not contacted Maytag, as it is not in warranty, however, it seems that a major appliance should last longer than a couple of years without issues.

I have a 7-year -old Maytag dishwasher, which was not working well. I paid over $600 for extra features. Maytag contacted me that the coil had to be replaced. They sent it to me, but the repair service said that theyve sent the wrong one. When they sent the second one, the repair service came out and called Maytag, They said that my model cannot be recalled. The repair service left, and after 1/2 hour later, Maytag called me and said that the repair man has to come back and install a new coil. He came back and installed it.

Bought the set at Home Depot. The gear box went out after 2 1/2 months of use. I called the manufacturer warranty site and spent close to an hour on the phone then was given an appointment to have a service repair person look at it. Two days before the scheduled service call they called and said they would have to move the appointment out by a week. After diagnosing the problem, oil all over the floor and stained clothes from the oil, was told it could be up to 2 weeks until the part arrived and installed. So my warranty is being used up while the machine is out of service for a month. Beware of buying a Maytag!!!

Brand new top of the line top loader washer. Lid locked mid cycle and couldn’t open it. Called Maytag. Sent a repairman out to fix. Three trips later, 5 parts, and over four months later, still broken. Unable to use washing machine. Been going to laundromat to do laundry. When speaking with Maytag, all you get is a sorry. Now I’m waiting on another part and then schedule another appointment to have guy come install. Maytag would rather replace every part, one at a time, than send a new washer. It is beyond ridiculous for a new washer to have to have all of its parts replaced. It’s a hunk of junk and Maytag will not stand by their product. Worthless company. Will NEVER buy another product from them. Their washer and their service is so far below standards, it’s criminal.

I have owned three different Maytag washer/dryer sets. The reason for so many? Selling the set with the house upon moving. I kept my last set which is Bravo. I love Maytag for their features, their dependability, their reputation. I have never had repairs on any of them. Totally awesome! My second set had a neat feature of a drying rack where you could place a sweater or shoes and no tumbling. Sorry I sold that set w/ the house. I am very pleased w/ my present set of Bravo. No agitator. A coworker also bought this set. Maytag is the best!

MDB77495852 - I purchased a brand new Maytag dishwasher 2 years ago from Sears. A year later it broke down with what was apparent moisture in the control panel. Thankfully it was covered under warranty. Well guess what... it broke down again a year later and now just missed a year. But not it matters, the retailer (Sears) said it was not covered so Im supposed to pay about $300.00 to get it repaired. And figure I will have to do so next year also. I was told there is a Lemon Law for appliances but it does not kick in for 4 years. So after $900 in repairs I could get a replacement... REALLY? I think a recall is in order!

First off, the drum split apart on the dryer. The drum part was not in this country, so instead of going ahead and replacing the clothes dryer, they told me to hang the clothes outside for six weeks or whenever the part comes in. That was three months after owning the piece of junk. I was having a bad day already, so I basically completely lost it. Im surprised I didnt get arrested for that. I wont ever lose my temper like that again. The clothes always smell bad, and sometimes really bad. Now, I find out that both washer and dryer could cause a fire. They are sending us a couple of really cheap GFCIs to keep them from a liability issue. Maytag is the absolute worst!

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator (freezer on the bottom) in August 2012. In 2014 we had to have the freezer repaired (defrost drain) which cost $153. This month, July 2015, we had to have the refrigerator repaired for another $293. The problem with the refrigerator the repairman told us is the control board (p/n W10503278). He stated that they didnt make the first board very well and hes been replacing this part quite frequently for customers. I only spent $799 on the refrigerator and I already have $446 into it. That is half of what I paid for it! I wouldnt recommend Maytag to anybody!

I purchased this washer in Oct. of 2017. From the beginning, it has not cleaned clothing properly and leaves a white residue on clothing. To get the residue off, I must wash the clothing again or sometimes it will come off in the dryer. The water level is too low to efficiently clean. I thought I would save water getting this but not at the price of multiple washes... What good is that? Since there is no agitator the clothes just sit at the bottom and move back and forth as one big clump, with just a few inches of water. I am sorry Ive waited so long since I am now past the point of returning this piece of junk.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen
Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag! On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

Do not buy a Maytag Washer. I had a Maytag for 25 yrs with only 1 repair in its 23rd yr. When it finally retired at age 25, we replaced it with another Maytag assuming it would also last long. No chance. We had only 2 good yrs. Now, at 2 yrs old, it is so so loud during the spin cycle that it sounds like an airplane (757) is flying overhead at 50 ft above the roof... No way can we possibly use the washer if anyone in the house is sleeping. Repairs cost more than the initial price of the washer. Please do yourself a huge favor and buy another brand. There are too many complaints about Maytag to even consider purchasing one. Not worth the aggravation!!

In the winter of 2007, we remodeled our kitchen and bought all new Maytag appliances. They cost a little more but we felt that we were getting a good quality product. Within months, the handle on the freezer became loose and I had to call for a repairman to tighten it. He told me we should buy the extended warranty because only a trained repairman could fix the handle. That turned out to be untrue thankfully because if it was true, I would have to call for repair at least once a month. The handle is constantly coming loose. A few months later, the microwave would turn on when the door was closed. I called repair as it was still under warranty. After he removed and replaced the door, I was told that we have to be careful when we close the microwave. There was nothing he could do to stop the problem. Approximately three years after we purchased the appliances, we had a problem with the dishwasher. We could only use one function; the others would not work. We were told by the technician that we got water into the door where the controls are and ruined the motherboard. I never heard anything so absurd. I have had a dishwasher in the same place for 25 years with no mishap. The cost of repair was $800. A few months later, we had a problem with the large burner on our cooktop. The outer coils heat up but the inner coils do not. I have yet to call for repair because I do not trust Maytag. Now, our microwave does not work. My husband used it to make popcorn with no problem. A little while later, I tried to heat a cup of coffee and it would not heat. The keypad works, the light comes on in the microwave but the motor does not run. Needless to say, we are very unhappy and will never buy another Maytag appliance. I wish I would have read the reviews before we purchased the appliances. Two of our friends had their kitchens remodeled at the same time we did and they have not had any problems with their appliances. But they didnt buy Maytag. I guess thats why.

Have owned Maytags (washer and dryers) for 40 years. I bought a Bravos top load washer and matching dryer because we gave our old set to a daughter leaving for college. That was less than four years ago! We bought this because it conserved water and there would only be my husband and myself home. So laundry needs would be minimal. The washer quit draining and starting making a terrible noise several days ago. Immediately called repair service - I knew from the onset this was going to be a big problem because when I told them the model, they responded - uh oh! Two days later service man comes to assess repair and lifts machine up and tells me bad seal has leaked to gear box and ruined it. Soooo for a machine that is less than 4 years old, I will have to pay $280 for part, $79 for service call, $60 for labor and $35 to have them pick it up and redeliver (because the repair is too big to be made in my home). $454 for a machine that gets minimal use!!!! I can add another $100 plus and buy a brand new machine. Why should I have to??? In doing some research, I found out this is a common issue with this model and Maytag has paid for the repair of other washers because it is a common problem. Even the serviceman said that and recommended I get a hold of Maytag. Their response - sorry mam you dont gave an extended warranty. (NOW I HAVE A LEMON!) Guess my next step is to write a letter to Maytag Corporate Office. I will keep going up the ladder until they address this flawed machine problem! One thing is for certain - I will never ever buy another Maytag product of any kind or will I ever recommend it. They are just not reliable. Guess, nowadays they are considered throw away products - keep them a few years and throw them away because its not worth your money and effort to repair them :-(

Maytag Bravos XL HE MVWB725BW. Washer was fantastic at first. Then about at 14 months old, the spin cycle starting making loud noises. Called Maytag, they promptly dispatched a repair service. The estimate to fix the washer was $531. The repair man stated Maytag does NOT seal the bearings from the factory. They only rely on a rubber washer, poor design. Maytag was unwilling to help with a washer with their name on it that failed at 14 months in any shape or fashion. I innocently purchased cash from BrandsMart a Maytag French refrigerator MF12665XEM 7, serial #K22311026 in 06/30/2012 in Boca Raton, FL. I assumed I had bought the last fridge I would ever need because it was supposed to be a product that never needs servicing, according to the wide advertising of the bored Maytag repairmen. So I did not buy a warranty. This fridge is completely useless 3.5 years later and I do not have a leg to stand on, Maytag assures me. The only part thats still working is the compressor, which is also the only part that is warranted! Coincidence? What do you think? I cannot afford to replace it. Neither can I afford to fix it.It started with water from the lower freezer pouring out on the kitchen floor. The next few days the cooling element in the upper fridge went, followed by the inability of the fridge to make ice. Then the freezer at the bottom went completely. This appliance was well cared for by me, personally, ever since I bought it. In a week, it was totally gone (with the exception of the compressor). It has been inspected by accredited appliance repairmen who have told me it is gone! Gone? $2200 gone? I am a widow living on SS, now with no fridge. I bought this appliance with what I made from the sale of my house, when they couldnt give them away in 2012. I need a fridge! This is South Florida and temps even now are in the 90s F. I demand satisfaction from Maytag. I was told their very best warranty would have only been for 10 years. Listen, Ive had fridges that have lasted 20 years without any problem. My name is Elaine **. **, Boca Raton, FL. 33434. TEL# **. My e-mail is **. I demand a refund of this $2200 or at least a repair or preferably a replacement of this mess of a fridge. This is wrong! I am a widow and cancer survivor and I deserve better treatment than this! Contact me and tell me what you are going to do to correct this wrong! Or I will go to the press about your non-service and terrible products. I want redress for this injustice!

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher mdb7749sbm1 in 2014 and have had nothing but problems with it since it was delivered. Within a year of owning it, the top jet fell off. We had it replaced and the repairman warned us that it would probably come off again due to a faulty latching system. In the last six months one of the brackets that holds the upper shelf has broken off and the dishwasher leaks every time we use it.My last cycle leaked so bad that essentially it completely soaked the extra large bath towel we place in front of it and travelled halfway through my kitchen. Not to mention that it never washed dishes well, regardless of what cycle we use, which/how little or much detergent/rinse agent and it does not filter at all, as theres debris all over my dishes and glasses. I am now looking to replace it before like other reviewers a control panel fire occurs. Strongly recommend staying away from this brand.

I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot. This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

Well the ignition switch in the lower oven had a frayed wire from the factory which created an issue with the control panel. Today I was quoted 600$ to repair the ignition switch and the main control board. PARTS ONLY. I am not repairing this stove. Called Maytag due to the issue of a defective ignition switch wire and got nowhere. Very poor quality product.

The dishwasher would not start July 30 2015. Tried to get service around here and no shops could respond. Called Midsouth Distributors for circuit board. They did not have one but would order and gave me the part # W10595570 based on the Model # MDB7749SBW3. Hoping could find one quicker somewhere else. Ordered one overnight from Sears and planned to replace the board by myself. However, I noticed the flat wire with 14 wires in the ribbon cable had brown spots. From my experience in the electrical systems, I realized this must be shorting out the start signal to the dishwasher logic controller. Sure enough, after scraping this off with a sharp knife, I was able to start my dish washer. My previous MAYTAG lasted 20 years. I bought this one in February 2014 at Home Depot. The design for the electrical controls is obviously very poor as testified by so many angry owners. MAYTAG should be required to replace all these control panels with a improved design at their cost. I hope this obvious poor design of a part gets attention in the United States and ConsumerAffairs will help us. I have called 1-800-688-9900 and registered with MAYTAG a complaint about this poor design.

Our range and oven are reliable and durable. Easy to clean and have lasted a long time. I do not regret spending a little extra money to have an appliance that has lasted a long time. The oven heats up at a standard rate. The self clean function is very thorough. I have a white set. I was worried they would stain with your typical spills that come along with cooking. However, They clean very easily.

I agree with everyone one else and their experience with these washers. I took advantage of a credit for those replacing old washers with new HE washers. IF I COULD ONLY GET MY OLD WASHER BACK!!! Its only 2 years old and it sounds like - what others have said, like a B52 taking off (during the spin cycle). I dont have rust spots inside of the machine or out so Im not sure what the issue is but I really dont want to invest in a couple hundred of dollars to this thing. It stinks, doesnt clean well and now this! VERY disappointed...VERY. As a single mom, the thought of finding money to replace something that is new just disgusts me! Nothing like the old washers that last for 18+ years. Nice Maytag I will never purchase another product of yours and will spread the word!

I purchased Maytag dishwasher (model # MDBH979AWW3) in June of 2010. Trouble started on washer after 18 months. Touch pad buttons dont all seem to be working. Occasionally gets to run after slamming door multiple times, but dispenser doesnt function properly. After trying to diagnose myself with door switches, connectors, etc., I caved in and called service. Service quoted $470 parts and labor to fix the problems, including control touch panel, dispenser, and control board (seems common from what I read here). Wish I had seen this string of posts before I called Maytag/Whirlpool customer service to see if they would help before I did any repairs. The responses I got from the service rep were rigid and scripted. Only time she varied from the script was to explain that modern high-efficiency appliances dont tend to last as long as ones 20 years ago. 18 months? Really? I might buy that if it was a mechanical durability design issue. Supervisors responses were also scripted, pointing back to the 12-month warranty. She said she did a warranty search on my model and that there was no warranty concern for this problem (really?). If there was, she might be able to help me. I guess there is no warranty history because most failures are between 12-24 months and the consumer has to pay for replacement outside of warranty. No semblance of customer service or customer care, just repeating what is on their website. Response was: I am sorry you are dissatisfied with the product and my response, but there is nothing I am authorized do. Sent an email to Maytag customer service regarding the problem and customer service interaction. They called back saying they stand by the original customer reps response, but offered to have someone else come out to give a second opinion on the problem. From what I read here, that doesnt seem necessary. Wish Maytag/Whirlpool would at least acknowledge that there is a problem, even the auto industry seems to have figured out a way to equip the service industry with known recurring problem history (TSB) and offer token help to keep customer loyalty. Apparently another quality organization fallen victim to short-sighted methods of maintaining shareholder value.

Internet stated refrigerators should last a minimum of 13 yrs and up. Mine is less than 5 yrs. old, a Maytag 25 cu. ft. French Door Bottom Mount Ref. with freezer on the bottom (MFF2558VEW). Had to replace upper gasket in less than 1 yr. of purchase and needs another now (not affecting the sealing aspect on doors, more aesthetic on upper door thin flap that tears easily).Drain plug & configuration for drain was a known manufacturers defect, but cost me money to replace as 3 yr. extended warranty expired. Lower gasket had to be replaced in yr. 4 of ownership, bottom of freezer was producing a sheet of ice that needed removal every week. Normal settings is #3 for both top and bottom, worked fine for 4 yrs at this setting.Last month irregular cooling started to occur- top down to 52 degrees and bottom freezer below -20 degrees - ice cream hard as rock, have to defrost each time in microwave. Maytag repairman said could find nothing wrong, but try emptying entire contents and unplug for 24 hrs. I could hear pieces of ice melting and dropping throughout the evening. Next morning towels I had put around frig were saturated with water. Restarted frig after 24 hrs. and was working fine for 5 wks. This week same exact problem returned so I did the same thing only this time I had to go out and buy a small chest freezer as I had a full one in my Maytag and no place to put frozen food. It is nearing 24 hrs. and no water has appeared on the floor nor did I hear any ice melting and dropping - so dont know what to do. Will call repair man again and see what he suggests. As soon as I can afford another $1400 frig (this was on sale for $1,002 after discounts, but I will buy a less expensive one this time) I will purchase another brand with NO French doors and no bottom freezer. I loved my frig the first 3 yrs. under warranty, but now causing me too much physical problems having to empty and restock frig for repairs. I have a Tappan Frigidaire in the garage that is from 1998 - I bought from a neighbor who was moving and it has been working fine for 16 yrs. with no repairs. They dont make them like they used to!

Maytag dishwasher model MDBH949AWW - I purchased a dishwasher thinking I was buying the best (laugh is on me). The date of purchase was 1/18/10, the control panel was replaced on 5-25-11 at no charge. On 10-15-12, the control panel failed again so I was forced to hand wash an entire load of dirty dishes. I used the dishwasher once a week. I am debating if it is worth it to repair it or replace it, in light of the fact that it could go out again the next year. Grinding at last cycle, and not wringing out clothes on some loads. I thought grinding and wringing out was to be that way since it did it from day one. I thought I just needed to adjust clothes to wring out. Balance was taking out some clothes but it was put in properly. Boy was I wrong. Im so pissed after reading all your reviews. First of all, the hoses that came with my washer leaked and were cheap made. My husband put the hoses from my old washing machine on the Maytag. Then, I hadnt had my Maytag washing machine but about two months when I had a problem with the mixer. I had to turn the hot water connection off in order to wash in cold water. When I called the store to explain the situation and ask if they had their own serviceman, the person I talked to made me feel like a complete idiot. He said in his twenty something years of selling Maytags, he had never heard of such a thing. Anyway, when a serviceman finally came, he also had to replace another part due to a recall. Now, my washer is right at four years old and is leaking from under it. My husband checked the hoses, and they are not the problem. I bought a Maytag thinking I was buying the top of the line but I guess I was wrong. I will not buy another one nor recommend them.

Apparently the Maytag Bravos HE top loading washer is poorly designed. We have sparingly used this washer for approx 3 years and it began to make a horrible noise in the spin cycle and then to give us UL error codes. After searching on the internet we discovered that the seal around the main spin shaft and the bearings were bad. Inspection under the machine revealed a terrible rust and grease spot and splatters of rust and grease on underside of unit. This is a typical problem and this machine should have been recalled or at the very least repaired by Maytag for little if any cost. They now make a kit to fix this problem, but this should not happen after only 2-4 years of use on a $700+ machine. Very, very disappointed with Maytag! Customer service, of course, offered us nothing as pathetic 1 year warranty was expired. Ten year on the tub, like anything will go wrong with that.

A refrigerator has to keep your food at constant temperature. The first Maytag refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot could not get cold. I mean the refrigerator never got below 65 degrees. I called Maytag and they played dumb. Just wait weeks for a repairman to check a brand new product that is not working. Home Depot replaced it in few days with another refrigerator of the same model. It runs but doesnt get really cold (it only has a fan in the freezer and the air comes down from the freezer to cool the refrigerator). I live with it because all you will get out of Maytag/Whirlpool is to turn the dial to a colder temp. A little over a year passes and the fan in the freezer just stops running. I called a local certified service person. He looks at the fan and says that its running but barely. I had to replace the motor at cost with labor of around 200 dollars. I kept the motor. Turns out the motor is made by Panasonic. The current replacement motor is made in Mexico. Now the refrigerator runs cold. Since I had two of these refrigerators that failed to get/stay cold, I think they got a bad batch of motors. Maytag response was to refuse to pay a dime, it is outside of the warranty - even though I had called about the refrigerator not getting real cold on the second refrigerator. So basically I lived with food being kept at a way too high of temp causing spoilage for a year and Maytag/Whirlpool could care less, they are only worried about their bottom line. That is not the only problem with their product. The drain pan grows a mold that looks like pudding. The only way to clean it is to pull the refrigerator out, take off the motor area cover (which is really cheap cardboard) and clean it out with a rag. There is no way to remove the pan. The compressor is mounted so low that it heats up the floor. I have concrete floors thus I have no fire risk but if you have wood floors, I would check the heat level. It is nearly impossible to clean the dust off the fins on the refrigerator coolant lines. The back of the freezer door shelves are metal and very sharp on the back. Thus if you stick your hand in to pick something up, you will get a nasty cut.I have owned only Maytag, Whirlpool and Amana products my entire life. I will never purchase their products again. They may pretend that you are buying an American product (they use the American flag) but this product is nothing but OEM garbage made by the lowest bidder. They try to sell you an extended warranty for around 300 bucks for an addition 3 years. I figured if the fridge went bad after 3 years, I would just buy a new one. I never expected a motor to fail less than a year (I would say it started going bad about 6 months into ownership as started making ice at a lower rate). Maytag refuses to stand behind their products. When I told them I had the motor that failed, they had no interest in even looking at it. Do not waste your money on their products. I also own a Maytag washer that is the worst washer I have ever owned.

I read the reviews before I bought this washer, went to a major department store to buy it. This way I knew that I could get good support if something happened to it. Its been 3 months, I use the washer everyday. There are 4 adults in my building, they use it daily. I have never had a problem yet, the clothes come out cleaner than the front loader I have. It seems Maytag still makes a good product. I am the first to admit, when you make large number of products you will have some with a defect. But this washer the Centennial by Maytag works great.. Plenty of water in the tub, the clothes come out clean.. Maybe those people having problems need to stop buy at big box home centers. Theyre known for lumber not washers.

This washer (Model# MVWB765FW1) will not wash your clothes. Its not designed to give enough water for washing. That means some clothes will still be dry after agitator cycle; seriously. Thank you Maytag for going green! The repairman will tell you the machine is working according to design. That is true but the machine is a fraud as a clothes washing machine. Run away from this piece of junk machine AND company as fast as you can! I bought this set Oct 12 and by March 14 it was grinding/whining during the agitation cycle. I have been in contact through various forms with Maytag and they do not care! They first contacted me to review them and when I reviewed them very unfavorably they emailed me and this is what they said: Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time! All I did was say exactly what happened. After that I went to their website to see what kind of reviews they were getting and lo and behold their rating is 4.4 out of 5. Of course it is when you simply cherry pick the best and plant a few lesser rated ones. I simply do not have the funds to replace what I thought was a quality product, nor am I sure I want to repair it as it doesnt clean clothes. I hate having been placed in this predicament by a greedy, slimy corporation whose only interest in me is profits.

If I could rate it lower than 1 star, I would. We bought ours new in 2005. Within 6 months, the main pulley for spinning the drum fell off not once but thrice. The repair tech said that the shaft was machined incorrectly at the factory and the bolt that would normally hold it on was backing out. The 3rd time it happened was close to the end of the warranty and the tech could not make it out before the warranty date. When he did show up, they wanted to charge us. I wound up putting the part in myself. Two months later, the suds alarm came on, which caused the water valve to open. The pump kicked out and the water valve stayed on flooding my basement and the electronics in the washer. This happened twice. The second time was a week ago and I tossed the ** out to the curb. We also have a Maytag Gemini double stove which does not work either. This is the second and last Maytag appliance that I will ever own. They are junk!

I purchased the Maytag Bravos XL washing machine because I wanted a top loader that was water saving. This washer boasts of a 10 year commercial capacity so I thought I was buying a decent machine. Unfortunately I have had a very disappointing experience. From the start this machine has not cleaned clothes properly. We circle clothes around the agitator and only fill the machine a third of the way full. This is the only way to ensure clean clothes. We use HE soap.As if this hasn’t been bad enough, the entire motherboard seems to be glitching out. It throws a different code each load and sometimes won’t start. Other times it won’t stop. It isn’t safe to use when we aren’t home or are asleep, making the time delay feature useless. Last night the machine ran for 2.5 hrs on a 1hr 30 min estimated deep water wash. I finally turned off the power and let it drain out after it insisted it had 45 min for the last hour.... this thing is a total waste of money. Will never buy another Maytag!!!!

Purchased a Maytag Atlantis washer at Lowes in 2004. Until recently it work
Purchased a Maytag Atlantis washer at Lowes in 2004. Until recently it worked without any problems; however, the agitator never seemed to work quite right. Normally, an agitator rotates in such a way that the auger action of the vanes pulls the clothes in toward the middle and then down into the water such that you have a continuous cycle of clothing being pulled down the middle, agitated at the bottom, then pushed up the outside. This one agitated but the clothing would just go round and round in the tub. Everything managed to get clean enough, but clearly something was amiss. Recently, the spin cycle became loud. A rumble became a loud roar over the course of a few cycles. Then I noticed water on the floor coming from under the washer. The short story is that the center shaft seals had just worn out. After almost 12 years of use, thats not surprising. Whats surprising is that it had worked so long without any issues other than the agitator.I took it apart and, to my dismay, the water had gotten into everything so that some of the metal parts were hard to remove. After having determined what replacement parts were necessary, I ordered them, but then placed additional orders for parts that probably would wear out eventually. So I ended up doing a near-complete rebuild. Other than the difficulty of taking some of the parts apart, and removing/installing the tub springs, it was actually pretty easy. I have reassembled, and now it seems to work flawlessly... so far. About the agitator: I found that shims are used on the transmission shaft to adjust tension. Too much tension and the clothes just ride around the tub; like mine did. Too little tension probably results in the thing not agitating at all (I dont really know). Once the washer is apart its easy to set the tension (insert the shim washers) correctly. There is a clip that holds the shim washers in place on the shaft. It was really tight; somewhat difficult to remove. One of the shims wouldnt fit when I tried to reassemble. As it turned out, that was a good thing. My research on this model revealed the way to get the proper tension. My assessment is that whoever assembled this washer at Maytag (or whoever builds these) assembled it incorrectly! Another thing I found out - after I ordered/received parts, unfortunately - is that there are two types of tub/shaft seal sets for this washer. I ended up replacing the newer type seals with the older type. Everything fits, but I may be losing out on a newer, better design. Well see. Overall, I am very pleased and impressed with the longevity and reliability of the MAV9501EWW washer. I have had Kenmore and Whirlpool; neither of which was nearly as durable and reliable. I hope this is helpful to someone.

This is in reference to Maytag washer MVW7232HW0 that broke after 5 months. Maytag sent a technician out who claimed we needed to replace 3 parts. We waited almost a month for the parts to come in just to have the technician say that didnt fix the problem. We have been waiting a 1.5 months for a resolution with nothing in sight. Now we have to either way another TWO months for another part, buy a new washer and get refunded for the old one (but WE would be responsible for the almost $300 price difference it now is), or wait for a new washer to come in stock and Maytag will replace it. However according to them there are no washers in stock for the foreseeable future. This company has been a joke to deal with. I have everything recorded and will take this further.

Low water level resulting in poor cleaning. Very poor design. Requires 2 rinses so the water savings of the wash cycle is a joke! Im very disappointed with the so-called Maytag quality. If doing very very small or handwash loads it work somewhat ok! Would never buy Maytag again!!

Purchased an Admiral Washer on 07/19/2010 from Home Depot in May of 2011 was washing clothes and washer flooded my wash room. Cold water would not turn off. Had to use shutoff valve on wall. Called for service through Maytags toll free number it took me 10 days to get through, then I was told that they did not have anyone in my area that could fix my washer that was still under warranty and there was nothing they could do. I called Home Depot and they said there was nothing they could do it was the manufactor problem.I Called several appliance repair places that advertise as maytag repair and they would not touch it!Called back in July of 2011 could not reach anyone at maytag service. My warranty expired 07/19/2011,yesterday 08/08/2011 I recieved a letter from Maytag wanting me to buy an extended warranty.I called an ask them why I should buy an extended warranty when they wouldnt even honor the original warranty they pulled up the records where I had called for service and told me I should have kept calling back that they take care of their customers etc. etc. but there was nothing they could do now because the washer was out of warranty.I called about a new water valve for this washer $56 for part $100 for labor including service call. Now I faced with a decision try to repair this piece of junk or scrap it a buy a new washer( not a Maytag or a Whirlpool) I am not rich I am elderly and live on a fixed income, it took me 6 months to pay off this washer at Home Depot!!!!!

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Best Buy. We did not buy the extended warranty from BB because there is a warranty with Maytag. After 4 months of use the washer stopped working. We were unable to return it to Best Buy because we exceeded the 2 week return policy and needed to rely on Maytags 1 year warranty. It took over 2 weeks to schedule a repair and he was unable to fix it, it needed an entirely new Control Board and UI panel. 3 weeks later he returned with the new parts. It worked for 10 days with the NEW Board and panel, it has now stopped working again. We are not able to replace it due to the California Lemon Law which allows a company 3 opportunities to fix it before replacing. Next time I will purchase the Best Buy warranty so I can replace this Maytag LEMON.

This product was purchased in March. In September, the agitator broke off. Thats a new one on me with a washer. Every other one Ive bought tended to last 10 years or so, then something like a motor wore out. It was an obvious design flaw on a topheavy agitator held on by a flimsy plastic sleeve. To make matters worse, their warranty service seems mostly geared to selling extended warranties, necessitated by the poor quality and bad design of their products. So, for a mere $182, I can have it covered for the next six or seven times the agitator breaks. No thanks, Ill figure out how to fix it myself when its no longer under warranty, or just cut my losses by buying another machine, and never another Maytag or Whirlpool product. I had a similar experience with a Whirlpool refrigerator purchased in April 2017, which had a defective module that went fortunately just before it was out of warranty.

I purchased my Maytag Refrigerator in Feb 2013. It is model MFF2558VEW7. It has the French doors w/ freezer at the bottom. This past week, I lost everything in the freezer. I call the Home Depot where I purchased it and they said that I have to call Maytag. I did and they sent a repairman out. It needed a compressor. After only 8 months, the compressor goes out? Why should this fridge be repaired and I not be given a new one? With all the problems with the Maytag, there needs to be one big class action filed. I asked for a loaner because it would take up to five work days for them to order the part. The answer was, We do not provide loaners.

I bought the Bravo XL HP Washer and Dryer in 2014. Dryer is great but the washer just after having it 1 yr started making awful noises. Had a repair man come which cost me money and was told the bearing went out and I needed a new one. He said it would cost over 700.00. I didnt fix it as I could buy a new one for that price. I did that. I hate the washer. It doesnt get the clothes clean and the cycles are long. My clothes dont feel or look as good. I have to leave the top open or it smells awful. So, I got the new washer 1 yr after the other one in 2015. It is now 2016 and it is making noises. Theses washers need to be recalled and we should be able to get a different one or our money back. Please, do something about these washers as a lot of us are stuck with them.

I bought the washer/dryer a few years ago. I did not realize how they do not own up to their reputation. Rather expensive. My clothes are always twisted together when finished washing. Parts of them feel dry. My dryer seems to be ok. Comforters are a pain as the load always gets unbalanced. Lately it wont finish a load. I get LD all the time. Have to unplug the washer and wait for it to cut off before cutting it back on. Then I cannot just rinse or spin. It fills back up with water and I get the same LD again. If I had seen all these reviews before I bought this set I WOULD NOT have bought them in the first place.

We purchased our Maytag dryer at Home Depot a couple of months ago. We just called Home Depot for the second time because the dryer handle broke off while opening the front load door. We called Maytag and they tell us to call Home Depot and the only thing they are willing to do again is fix the door handle which will probably break off again while Im in the middle of laundry and cant retrieve clothes from the dryer because there isnt a handle to open it.Im convinced the dryer has a defective handle, and the dryer should be replaced considering what we paid for it. But Maytag or Home Depot doesnt want to do that. I will never buy Maytag products again and thinking of buying products at small appliance stores who stand behind their products, instead of Home Depot who could easily turn our dryer over to the insurance company as defective for the loss.

I bought a brand-new dryer Maytag Bravos. It broke after 3 weeks. They came to fix. A few months later, same thing happened, but I have 6 people in my house. They told me someone would be here the next day, and then that person canceled. They called someone else. He came and said I have to wait 3 days for parts. I called at least 6x and waited 30 minutes each time. They kept telling me theyd call back, and theres absolutely no call back. Then I called corporate Yvette, who was totally cocky and rude (866 817 5404). She said she would try to get back to me another day because she had meetings! Then, I was irate. I mean how rude. So she called me back and said, I ordered you the parts. Now you call Dan Marc, the service company, and make the appointment. Is this woman kidding? Then she went on about how Maytag has a 13% rating (They are Maytag.) and how their product is so wonderful. Now this woman is competent cocky and rude, and shes the presidents secretary! So whatever I call Dan Marc, they have no appointments Tom and wont make me an appointment. This is how a new product should work? I asked her what I do when it breaks again and again and the warranty is up. She told me they dont work on what ifs and if that time comes, it will be her decision. I am disgusted and have a house full of kids with no dryer? And I have given them another chance after that Neptune disaster. Im appalled and dont even know what to do.

Bought a Maytag French door refrigerator MFT2976AEM01 in August 2013. Started having problems before the refrigerator was a year old. I called to get it serviced and it took 4 months to get a repairman to check it out. He fixed one part and then ordered another part that he needed which took 3 months to get. After he replaced that part the refrigerator continued to have problems. The serviceman has been out to repair my unit 6 times so far. He has no confidence in the Service Engineers from Maytag. They recommended yet another part be replaced, however now Maytag will not cover the parts cost. They offered to let me buy a new fridge at a discount. After spending about $2700 in August 2013, I dont have the $ to spend again for a refrigerator. My refrigerator is so loud it has been waking me up for about a month now and I am sick and tired of it. Shame on Maytag for having such terrible customer service! I will never ever ever recommend a Maytag because this has been a nightmare!

This Maytag was installed in this house in the summer of 1984 and washed dishes for my in-laws for 26 years. We moved in as a family of four and this Maytag dishwasher is still washing the dishes clean. No rinsing, just make sure the food is gone. We replaced the belt about 6 years ago and I think my Mother-in-law replaced the door seal. It has a power saver button, 2 cycles, and the cups are on the bottom rack, plates and such on the top. I dont put plastic bowls on the bottom because it gets a bit too warm for them but all the bells and whistles still work. It is a fairly large model, WU301, with ample room for plates and platters. I dont wash pots because I dont like what the dishwasher soap does to the finish on them. Having the cups on the bottom is nice and the rack is very usable for other dishes as well. The cutlery rack is located on the top rack, removable and a decent size. Almond body, silver and dark brown accents, very 1984 but not a bad look. All of the buttons and knobs are easy to read and use. Maytag, 1984, model #WU301.

I wish that I had looked up reviews before purchasing my washer 6 months ago! No matter which setting I use, the washer never fills up with enough water!! I have pulled clothes out that havent even gotten wet, due to not enough water in machine! All due to the government regulated water levels on the sensors!!!! So, I had my plumber put in hot and cold water faucets, then he put a short Y hose on, so this way I can add water to the machine.... The only thing is, you have to wait for the machine to fill with what it thinks is enough water to get your load clean.... stop the washer, then add the water you need. But if it reaches a certain point, it will automatically start draining. So you have to watch and make sure you stop adding the water, before reaching that point!

I purchased the subject Maytag washer (MHWE201YW-3.5 CU FT WHT FRNT LD WSHR) from Home Depot in December of 2012. I got exactly 1 year of use and then the washer stopped working. I called the Home Depot repair person who came and repaired the unit. The repair lasted two weeks and the washer stopped working again. Because the unit was no longer under its 1-yr warranty the Home Depot repair person was not available for repair. Another independent Maytag repair person came and evaluated to problem. He said the computer which is located on the motor was no good and to the tune of over $400.00 (parts and labor) a new motor was purchased and installed. It lasted two months and it quit working again. After several months I was finally able to contact the original Home Depot repair person for one visit. He said he would check the code message and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I have been taking my laundry to the laundromat ever since and it is getting expensive. I dont want to spend another $400 on this machine as it will only break again. What do you recommend?

Washer breaks after 2 years. I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer from Lowes just 2 years ago. One of the main driving factors for the purchase was the Maytag brand. The repair tech just told us the bearing was bad and we need to replace this and the drum. The service call was $100 and the repair will be over $500. I can purchase a new washer for this. We purchased a Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer in October 2011, and within 5 months, the main bearing failed. The Maytag repair person told us it was an inherent issue and to make sure we use HE detergent (We always have.). Maytag advised parts were not available for 3 weeks, so no washer after 5 months of use. The bearing failed a second time after 11 months. Maytag refused to replace the washer and advised it was repairable condition. Now, we have the bearing fail a third time, and Maytag has advised that they would not repair the washer under the extended warranty program. They offered us 75% refund on the washer (So I guess they expect their products to only last 4 years.), which is simply unacceptable. We are now faced with purchasing a new washer, which will not match the dryer; or we have to purchase a washer and dryer of another brand. Maytag has provided pathetic customer support, and their response or lack thereof shows that they simply just dont care about their brand image or the customer.

I have a Maytag Bravos washer bought 6 years ago. Recently, it started giving trouble by stopping at spin stage. I contacted a local service company and they immediately told me even without looking at machine, that it is a control board problem and will cost a lot to repair and suggested to buy some other company washer instead of repairing. They told it is the third similar complaint this week. But I contacted Maytag and they suggested their factory authorized technician who could not correctly locate the problem but charged for the visit. Later he also came to the same conclusion. After using my GE Profile to death we replaced it with a Maytag; mostly for the cost. Although I hate to admit this, remember the old saying you get what you paid for - Well its true at least in the case of this Maytag oven. I am a constant cook and own a bakery, I often bake many of my products at home. Since getting this oven I have had nothing but failures. The cakes are over done, underdone, cookies burnt, not cooked enough; my time frame for recipes is so off! I wrote a cook book and have baked for years so I know for a fact its not some miraculous mishap that all of a sudden I cant bake. Ive had them come calibrate the oven but still no success.Im going to call them again but I felt compelled to let people know this is the worst oven in history and avoid purchasing it at all cost. I plan on having the service team come out one last time but if this doesnt work I plan on replacing it. Its a Maytag Double Wall Oven-Top Convection-Self Cleaning model no: MEW9630DS-SS. My mother had a Maytag set that lasted 30 years. That explains why they dont show the commercials with the Maytag repairman that wouldnt have anything to do. There was a loud sound coming from it. I called the repairman back and he said it was the gear case and basket. He said the basket was covered under the warranty but the gear case wasnt. Would be about $750 to fix....no way was I paying the cost of a new washer to fix this less than 4 yr old one. I called Maytag. They couldnt help me.
