Have a Bravo Quiet Series 300, does not clean clothes because on not enough water to wash with. Have to set it on Bulk to have it clean good enough. The way it agitate and rotate the clothes turns the wash into knotted pretzels (this also makes it harder to clean the clothes) which in turn makes the spin cycle vibrate badly. Cannot put wash in and leave because of this.

I am renting to own a Maytag refrigerator and it is leaking water on my floor. Runt my floor already - had to replace the floor once. Sent it back to the place where I got it for them to fix it. Paying insurance by the way that isnt worth a crap either cause they wanting to tell me that I left it open at some point or the lights was off at some point. Anyway to make a long story short they gave me the run around and didnt want to fix it. But how do you fight big companies? This was a rental company by the way rent to own so now I have 4 payments left out of 24 at 180.00 each and they still dont want to fix it. I dont know who to be madder at - the rental company or Maytag from selling this piece of junk. But by me renting to own it if any problems occurred they were suppose to fix it. Youre already paying twice the amount to get one cause of credit issues. But thats no reason to double screw someone or should I say triple cause you getting doubled the rental company alone. They need to recall this refrigerator. It has been a lot of complaint and they want to tell you to go behind the refrigerator unstop a line. Well I didnt buy this refrigerator to have to work on pulling it out from the wall every two days to do this procedure. This is crazy. Any one out there looking to buy a refrigerator my advice to you would be do your research and stay away from rental places whatever you do because you will pay twice the amount and they wont stand behind their promise either to fix it as long as you renting from them! And stay away from Maytag!!!

I just want everyone to be aware that Maytag went bankrupt several years ago. They were bought out by another company that still puts the little Maytag sticker on, and all the products are made in Mexico. Apparently all the lawsuits wiped out the company. I did not know this when spent several thousand dollars on one of the best Maytag refrigerators a few years ago. I had nothing but problems with it, and literally had to fight with customer service while it was still under warranty. Needless to say, it only lasted 7 years before the compressor went out, which is roughly $1000 to fix. Kenmore here come...

I, too, have had major problems with this Maytag refrigerator! We have experienced everything from a malfunctioning ice maker, flashing control panel, overloaded compressor, erratic freezer (freezes much of the fridge contents), and doors not staying closed/inadvertently popping open. We have owned this fridge since 2007 and have repaired the ice maker and the freezing problems on our own dime. When the clicking sound woke the entire house up at 5 am, I finally decided to post! I realize that appliances are not perfect, and that Maytag had the best of intentions when designing and producing this product, but what really infuriates me is that Maytag has known about this widespread inherent problem since late 2006! Why no recall? Why no notice? Why no assistance? When I called the customer service line this morning, the representative acted like shed never even heard of this fridge having problems - yeah, right. All you have to do is Google the model number or just Maytag fridge panel flashing and clicking problem to discover thousands of similar complaints. I do not fault Maytag for manufacturing a less than perfect appliance, but I do hold them accountable for adequately repairing/replacing such a rampant and unsafe (compressor overload) product! Maybe it is time for a class action. Something needs to be done to protect the consumer from a company that is so slow to correct a long-standing and potentially dangerous problem!

I purchased a Maytag Neptune 24” front load washer (MAH2400a) and 24” electric dryer (MDE2400AYW) on October 26, 2005 from Sears in Chesterfield, MO. In April 2011, the drum in the washer began to slush and grind. Water also began pooling around the machine. I called Sears and arranged for service repairman. Before he even looked inside the washer, the repairman wanted to give me a coupon for $50.00 off a new washing machine from Sears. After my insistence, he finally opened the washer and told me I needed a new drum. Because of the Sears repairman’s reluctance to look at the machine, I had another appliance repairman review it and was told that the water pumps for this model were defective. Any loose items the size of coins collected inside the pump and damaged it. I paid $340.00 to get the pump replaced. Ten months later, the dryer started smoking. After scheduling a service call, I was told the heating element burnt out and it would cost $360.00 to replace. It was then I noticed that the washer was leaking again. I took the front base cover off and saw mold growing under the machine. A little research uncovered that this set of machines has had many dangerous problems, from mold to catching on fire. There was a class action lawsuit filed and won by consumers in April 2005, yet I was sold this model in October 2005. I feel both Maytag and Sears knowingly sold me a defective and dangerous product. I would like to be refunded for this set.

Last August I bought the Maytag Bravos XL. I have had 3 repairmen try to fix my problems with it and they cannot. The problem is, they cant fix an appliance that isnt designed correctly! Without water, one cannot wash. Dont be mislead that the huge area inside can be used for large objects like sheets and comforters. This machine is MUCH harder on my sheets and comforters than my old machine with a center agitator. I have shredded rugs, holes in sheets, black lines on clothes and a chlorine dispenser that puts spots on everything. The detergent dispenser hardware is rusted as well. Folks if this machine was an automobile, IT WOULD BE RECALLED!

I bought a new Maytag Quiet Series 300 in 2005 and have had nothing but problems with it. The internal plastic pieces that hold dishes in place have broken off regularly. The door handle also broke. The dishwasher does not drain all the way every time. Now, the dishwasher will quit randomly before finishing its cycle. Our model (MDB7600 AWB) was not part of the recall, but is a lemon nonetheless. Of course, all of this occurred after our one year warranty had expired. This dishwasher is a lemon and a waste of $400. Well never buy another Maytag product.

Service guy came out and said it was the computer panel and he didnt have one. So I waited over a week for another service call. He put that one and said that now the transmission was shot and he didnt have one, another wait. This is a piece of junk. Do not buy Maytag or Whirlpool products. We purchased our Maytag 4000 series electric dryer in October 2011 from Best Buy. We did get a very good deal and have had little problems until this am. I moved laundry into the dryer and started it. While I was loading the washer, suddenly I heard a popping sound from the dryer and smelled smoke. Scared me looking into it. Sounds like either our electrical cord or our heating element blew. Coming from an era (born in the 1970s) where appliances should last at least 20 years, I am disappointed with Maytag. I shouldnt have problems at least until this thing is 10 years old. And even then I have higher expectations. So when I replace this, it will be with a better product.

This Maytag (Whirlpool) model MDB7749SBMI dishwasher was purchased 10/28/13
This Maytag (Whirlpool) model MDB7749SBMI dishwasher was purchased 10/28/13 at Home Depot. That makes it 2 1/2 years old to date. It has been a good dishwasher up until now. A few weeks ago I noticed it was doing something wonky. First of all it was not responding its usual way when I tried to turn it on after closing the door. The start button was not responding immediately, nor were some of the other buttons. I also noticed that after the dry cycle had completed and the door was then opened to unload, that the lights on the door were flashing. Then, when I shut the door after unloading the dishes, the washer would come on without having any buttons pushed. Recently, in addition to the difficulty we are experiencing getting it to start, the washer will keep running without ever turning off. Last night I turned it on before going to bed, and it was still running this morning. Calling the service number, the control panel part will run around $150, with a $98 charge for repairman to come out. Who knows if that 98$ isnt just to walk in the door, and whether that includes the time it takes to install the part. The dishwasher was around $400 with my husbands military discount from Home Depot, so it seems crazy to spend that kind of money to have a part replaced that is going to break again because of PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE. If that part is replaced (at half the cost of the dishwasher) whos to say what other part is going to break next, perhaps requiring another service call plus price of part. So, conclusion is to throw this one in the landfill and purchase another dishwasher, sadly. The case of Planned Obsolescence is reflected in many of the comments/reports here on Consumer Affairs. The age of the failing control panels of the Maytag/Whirlpool washers are running around the same time spans. No doubt in my mind that these control panels are designed to fail after a specific amount of run cycles/time on this machine. These appliance companies that are manufacturing these total crap appliances so that people will have to buy replacements within 3 or 4 years are filling our already packed landfills while robbing the consumer. Its plain to see for all who care to investigate the matter. A service repairman whom Ive used for years and has been in the business for 25, told me that most appliances today are total pieces of junk compared what they used to be and are designed to fail. He said it has greatly impacted his business because people are replacing appliances versus repairing them because it is not cost effective to have them repaired. He also added that the guts of these appliances looked like they were made from Cracker Jack toy quality plastic materials. There should be laws to stop these manufactures from Planned Obsolescence, and we need to go back to the way appliances use to be made... to last! I have no idea what its going to take to ever see that happen. This is what happens when you have very little competition and 2 major appliance manufacturers. More parts are being designed to fail, so that they can line their pockets. Pitiful.

I bought a Bravo XL Washer 3 yrs ago for $900 to $1000. The washer started beeping and not starting to eventually not turning on. I called customer service as I was told my washer was still under warranty. They scheduled a service man to come out with a $95 charge to come out. He came and it is the user interface. Apparently, this is a huge issue with this type of washer. He told me it would be cheaper to get a new washer than to have this one fixed. I called Whirlpool/Maytag after the fact and was told the part is $422.49 to fix the washer. I explained that I was told it was still under warranty and they denied this is the case. My previous washer I had for 18 years and not problems until the end. Having a washer for 3 years and being told to purchase another one because it would be too expensive to fix the current one is very disheartening! I do not recommend this product to anyone, nor do I recommend the company as they do not try to make things right or offer any assistance in any way! Buyer Beware.

I purchased my which I thought was a stainless steel French door refrigerator in 2011 that I was getting a great product. Not even 3 months later I was using my warranty to stop the leak from my freezer now. Mind you, I paid $1500 so I got it fixed. 3 months later I called for repair again... Getting annoyed because this time the freezer came off track. 6 months later were chopping ice chunks up to stop the leaking on the floor. This lasted until last October keeping towels and old clothes around the fridge to soak up the water. This is so embarrassing especially if you have company over. You have a pile of crap soaking up water. I am a wife and mother of 7 children. I cant afford to just go buy another fridge. This isnt fair... I spent hard earned money on that magnet attracting stainless steel fridge and Maytag could care less. Im so disappointed and broke. Now I have to scrap it.

Maytag Bravo XL - We bought the set about a year ago, after high recommendations from the salesman at Best Buy. This washer does not clean clothes - they come out with soap & spots & white stuff, even after I use the deep water or the extra rinse cycles. These cycles take well over an hour. When they are finally finished, my clothes are twisted into ropes that have to be unwound & taken apart before putting in the dryer. I hate to think what its doing to more delicate clothing, getting stretched & tied up like that. This washer is awful - cant wait to get a new one. The dryer isnt much better - cant believe a $900 dryer doesnt have a steam refresh cycle! And the controls are so touchy - if you actually push them, they dont work. If you lightly hover over the button & barely breathe on it, it does - very strange.

I am writing to tell you the dishwasher sold to my family malfunctioned as a result of an apparent design flaw. I also ended up wasting an entire day for a service person who never arrived. On October 14, 2009, my family bought a Maytag Dishwasher (model #MDBH979AWW) from Home Depot. It had run beautifully until last week, when the left-hand side of the control panel went dead. I then called the Maytag service number (800-688-9900) listed in the instruction manual and scheduled an appointment with the A&E Factory Service vendor for the following Friday (July 6th, 2012) between 8:00AM and 12:00PM. Around 12:30PM, no one had arrived, so I called again. I was told by the agent that the technician was en route and would arrive at my home in forty five minutes. At 2PM, still nobody arrived. I rang again when I was then informed that my name had been strangely kicked out of the system and made available for a reschedule. Wanting to stick with a Maytag-approved business, I went ahead and scheduled the next earliest appointment available, Monday, July 9, 2012. The technician from A&E Factory Service that actually did show up reported that the entire control panel had to be replaced at a cost of $281.48. Interestingly, he added that he had seen other Maytag dishwashers with this exact same problem and recommended that I wait until the water settled before adding extra dishes during a cycle since water apparently leaks into the electronics via a small gap on the top of the inside of the door. Of course, there is nothing in the instructions warning against such.I chose to fix the machine since I didnt have the money to purchase a new one. Are your dishwashers designed to last only a few years? I truly believe that I have been duped by Maytag since this problem resulted from a design flaw. I am asking you to please look into these matters and correct any wrongdoing that you see fit. Copies of receipts for the dishwasher purchase and service repair are enclosed.

I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

Purchased 4-2010, used maybe once a week, it stopped working 11-2013. They sent someone out to replace the faulty recall, which the recall says there is an electrical wiring failure that can cause a fire, so they replaced part. It did nothing, the dishwasher still would not wash, just fill up with water and drain, but would never go into wash, so we call and argue. First girl said that recall has been known to burn out the control panel so we have to pay for a service person to come out and diagnose it, if that is it, they will pay to repair it. Then when he does diagnose it, we call back, the next person says no, the recall has nothing to do with the control panel, that it is just a bracket that holds up the heating element... REALLY. Well then the Consumer Protection Agency has the wrong info because I just looked on there and the recall says, Electrical failure with the heating element that is not related to a bracket, I can read and I am not stupid, so we were out the $50 service call, so we finally got them to agree and pay for the part, but we would have to pay to put it on...HHHHHH NO, I am not spending another dime on service calls, I could spend the same amount and go and get a scratch and dent dishwasher for the same or just a little more. We are calling back tomorrow to argue more with them, then I am emailing the local TV station that handles these kind of issues. MAYTAG is a piece of nothing, I will never buy this or anything with their name on it again....

We were unable to return it to Best Buy because we exceeded the 2 week return policy and needed to rely on Maytags 1 year warranty. It took over 2 weeks to schedule a repair and he was unable to fix it, it needed an entirely new Control Board and UI panel. 3 weeks later he returned with the new parts. It worked for 10 days with the NEW Board and panel, it has now stopped working again. On May 11, 2010, I purchased a Maytag washing machine from Lowes. On June 22, 2011, the machine wouldnt empty out on the rinse cycle. Lowes was called as the machine was only one month out of warranty. They dispatched Appliance Plus for a service call which would be $80.00 just to diagnose the problem. It turns out the machine needs three parts - a timer, an ATC switch, and a rinse switch. All totaled, this will add up to over $300.00, plus the $80.00 for the service call.Appliance Plus tried to contact Whirlpool to see if Whirlpool would at least pay for parts, being it was only one month out of warranty. The answer took 5 days and the request was denied. I was told I should contact Lowes Service Advantage and maybe they could contact Whirlpool for a special consideration, again, being it was only one month out of warranty. I made the call and they said to give them two business days turn-around for an answer. On June 30th, Lowes said Whirlpool was looking for the serial number and I provided it. They told me to give them another 2 business days turn-around. On July 3rd, I again called Lowes and they informed me that they still hadnt heard from Whirlpool. Finally, on July 7th, I received a call from Lowes saying Whirlpool denied the request.

So wife and I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in late 2012. A year and a month later it turns into Hal 9000 from 2001 Space Odyssey. I press normal, it shows light rinse. I press heated dry, it tries turning off the life support and blowing me out the air lock. Finally, in March it dies. No power, no nothing. $500+ for an appliance that lasts 2 years. So for the past few months, while we wavered over buying a new brand or spending $250+ on a repair, we were washing dishes by hand. It was as bad as my grandma used to say it was. Then, by chance I ran across a web blog talking about this being a common problem, and there are hundreds of complaints, and its a problem with a $4.00 part on the control panel that can be fixed with a Q-tip, rubbing alcohol, and silicone... Im not a handyman by any stretch of the imagination, but even this I could do. Unplug or switch off the breaker. After unscrewing all the screws, (not your standard or Phillips head either) unplug the control panel from the control box and remove the control panel. On the back, youll notice a flat cable (pictured below) that will have dark marks on the opposite side of the part sticker. Gently clean this with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. I then covered the back (side without sticker) with silicone, (you can get at hardware store or Target) let dry, and put everything back together again and now its working better than new. Im regarded as a master handyman in my house, and I didnt even have to hear the dishwasher sing Daisy Bell as I disconnected it. With such a simple fix, Im amazed Maytag didnt just own up to it and get it addressed. The millions it will end up costing them in the long run, by this frustrating experience shared by us all will have them thinking twice in the future (hopefully). It is a shame they seem to be adopting the business model of American auto manufacturers of the late 80s. Ill update this in a year and a month to let you know how the fix worked, and you owe me a beer for saving you $150 - $600 for a repair or replacement. One word... VICTORIOUS!!

We have had a Maytag Bravos XL top load washer less than a year. Big Mistake. It was JUNKYARD ready when it came out of the box. Does NOT wash clean. Weve tried everything. The agitator looks and acts like a toy. Will not run enough water to wash anything. We had a LG front load before and its hard to get use to having dirty clothes. NEVER AGAIN.

Ive tried all manner of washing clothes, especially dark ones. Different cycles, different detergents and amounts, but it always leaves scum marks in folded places. I have to either brush off what I can, and/or rinse the clothing in a sink and then rewash the clothing without detergent. In an attempt to save water, I end up using two or three times the amount.

I bought a Neptune Washer in 1999. 6 years later (2005), it started making the 747 landing noise. It was implied that somehow it was our fault, maybe, something from my contractor husbands pocket. After all, it was a Maytag, and surely there could be no design or engineering flaw! (My daughter still has 34-yr.old one.) We were told the repairs would be so expensive. It would be wiser to buy a new one. Foolish me, I bought another Neptune to match my dryer. Of course, now this one has the same bearing problem and again its cheaper to buy a new washer. I am angry and not sure how to proceed. Any washer, but especially a Maytag, should last more than 5 - 6 years. I should not have to buy my 3rd washer in 12 years. And if I do, it certainly wont be a Maytag!

Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 - I purchased the set 2.5 years ago and after 2 years, it started making a rubbing sound. I kept using it with having a family of 5 and this is why I purchased it in the first place; with 3 boys, I do a lot of laundry. It then quit working on me all together and wouldnt spin the clothes. I had a technician come out and it was the barriens that spun the drum so I had them fix it and it cost me $400. Then about a month later, it was flashing code F51 and not spinning. I had them come back out thinking it would be covered since it just got fixed but no, it cost me another $100. Now, 6 months later and here I am again unable to do laundry because its flashing F51 and wont drain or spin. I called Maytag and they tried selling me a warranty and said it wasnt recalled because there wasnt enough complaints. We need to all call and raise a ruckus. This is ridiculous. Sorry to hear everyone going through as I am.

This washing machine is good for cleaning clean clothes, like stuff you wear one day at a desk job. But nothing dirty. Its really bad. Dont fill it either, nothing will get clean. 1/2 full or less. If you put too much clothing in there it will leave lint and other debris all over them. Also, dont use granular detergent, it wont dissolve or rinse out. Liquid detergent only. Weve had it for about two years, and its a constant disappointment. A total waste of money. Really annoying. I have to get rid of it. Its almost completely useless.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo washer 2 years ago and it is the worst washer I have ever used. My clothes are never clean. It is always out of balance and is so slow and takes forever to do a load of laundry. It has started stopping on spin and have to unplug it to get it started back then it sounds like a jet coming in for a landing and has to restart the spin about 3 or 4 times before it ever finishes. I have had the repairman to look at it and says there is not anything wrong with it, but something has to be wrong for it to stop on spin and have to unplug it for 5 mins. in order for it to reset itself and start again.

I moved into an apartment home in June 2016. My apartment was furnished with all new appliances. The washer & dryer were purchased in May 2016. I live alone so on average I do 1 load of laundry per week. In November I noticed paint peeling on the inside of the dryer drum. Each time I use the dryer more paint peels. I contacted Maytag because I figured the dryer was still under some type of warranty. They sent out a technician only to tell me this was a cosmetic problem and cosmetic problems are not covered under the 10 year warranty. I would need an authorization code from Maytag if it was covered under warranty.Again, I contacted Maytag and now they want to send another technician for a second opinion. I dont feel this is cosmetic because the dryer is only 6 months old and already the paint is peeling. I feel this is a product defect because this type of problem shouldnt happen on a new appliance. I have scheduled an appointment for a second opinion and if he says its cosmetic then I have to pay out of pocket for the repairs to fix the problem. I thought Maytag stood by their product and customer satisfaction was a top priority. I guess I was wrong.

My husband and I purchased both a Maytag washer MVWX655DW1 and dryer MEDX65
My husband and I purchased both a Maytag washer MVWX655DW1 and dryer MEDX655DW1 less than 3 years ago from Sears. We had both the washer and dryer professionally installed. Yesterday, we had an authorized service man come in and look at the problems we were having. He told us our Maytag washer would need a new gear case and gears costing $750.Our Dryer, same age, needed a new cycling thermostat. He said it was due to not cleaning out the lint trap. My husband and clean the lint trap after every load religiously. He said there was a pile of lint built up in the dryer. I could only think this would be a design flaw. To repair the dryer it would cost $350. The grand total to repair our Maytag Washer and Dryers would be $1100. We paid $1082.38 at Sears for both. The only thing Maytag offered to cover was a part for the washer which would cost $640 and we would need to pay the extra $110 for service in addition the $150 diagnostic charge, due to use being out of our one year warranty. We decided to not fix this machine to avoid similar problems in the future. I talked to customer service and asked them to cover the diagnostic charge instead of sending the part, which is far more costly. I got the runaround and 3 rejections before they finally agreed to pay for the diagnostic charge. My husband and I are extremely disappointed in this experience. We currently own a Maytag Microwave and Electric Glass Top Range. We will never buy Maytag again. Our Stove is also lacking. We have the AquaLift cleaning stove. The AquaLift technology does not work.

MDB7609AWB1 - I purchased this dishwasher about 14 months ago. Power on button will not light up. It seems this is a big problem with 100% of the Maytags and Im sure the Whirlpools. These cheap companies are having their products made in China to make bigger profits. The years of keeping your appliances for 10-15 is gone. Spend $650 and it doesnt even last 2 years before it breaks is totally ridiculous. Of course they wont fix it but they DO know about the problem. If enough people complain maybe consumers affairs will make them recall them. Send them letters, emails, flood their inbox, tell them youre pissed and will never buy a Maytag again. I hope they go out of business.

I bought a brand new Maytag bottom freezer fridge in May 2005. The first thing to go was the timing switch. I lost all contents of the fridge and freezer. The next to go was the compressor. Again, all the contents of the fridge and freezer were destroyed. This was after the 5 year warranty was complete. The cosat of repairs is around $800.00, which is the cost of a new fridge. I emailed someone from customer service, who replied how happy they are to hear from me, and how I can call anytime. I called customer service, and spoke to a supervisor. The fridge was built in the USA, but cannot tell me where the parts are from. No one seems to get, that I am disgusted that an appliance would last only as long as the warranty lasts. Oh, and the repairs are only covered for 90 days. My parents have a 62 year old RCA chest freezer that is still going strong. The lesson is, dont get rid of your old appliances. They may use a lot of energy, but they last. I will never buy from Maytag, ever again.

Dryer doesn’t dry any size load in one cycle regardless of settings. Mysteriously, it triggers a message to check the lint filter and line when running a small load with nothing blocking the venting system. It never happens on large loads which would block more of the air flow. You could get a comparably sized dryer for much less. This not the premium product that you pay for.

We bought the Maytag Aqualift cooktop about a year ago & are continuously dissatisfied with it, for several reasons: 1) the cooktop is a huge nuisance to cook on. The burners are either raging hot (causing boil-overs), or too cool to simmer. The boil-overs then require much cleaning with an expensive cleaning agent. 2) the oven, whether you use regular or convection, underheats - so you can’t tell how long the cooking or baking process will take, & you have to monitor the cooking process. 3) the so-called self-clean is a joke; the oven will not be clean unless you crawl inside & clean it manually. Overall, I’d prefer to toss this range in the trash. I’m a good cook, but I get angry every time I use this expensive, poorly- designed product.

Worst washing machine!!! I purchased the top loader Maytag Bravos washer HE in 2011 and they are the worst!!! It has been repaired three times already and now is making such a loud noise and I have been told it is the bearings. I did purchase the extended warranty and it expired. The reason I did not get a renewal is Maytag & Home Depot do not allow the the extended warranty company to let you know the warranty is ending. So now I have a 3 1/2 year old washer that needs bearings and will cost $500 + for repairs. Will not be spending anymore money on this absolute piece of junk. I had a Maytag that was 22 years old that I replaced and thought I was buying the same quality but never again another Maytag. This company may want to employ only repairmen because you will need only them because no one should buy a new one going forward.

I purchased my Maytag washer and dryer set from the Maytag store in Glendale, AZ in September 2005. I even bought the stands for them. With my purchase, I got the extended warranty for four more years. I didnt realize that I would really need it. I have had so many issues with the washer and dryer I cant even count - from the control panel not working, to the noise and the vibration when washing, or maybe in the smell of moldy cheese. I also have issues with the constant chimes of D5 code that keeps coming up on the display screen. After 2009, I finally gave up on calling the Maytag customer service folks to have someone come and service the washer because it was out of warranty. I just decided to live with all those issues. As far as my dryer goes, the rollers went bad and that was replaced. The burnt smell isnt so bad as long as you use a wire hanger with a sock on the end of it and clean the inside of the vent. Then try to vacuum it, take the sock, get it wet, and clean the inside of the vent again. This was the most expensive piece of junk I have ever purchased in my life (almost $3,000.00 with the stands and warranty). What really gets me upset is I had the Maytag people servicing my washer and dryer up until 2009 and no one told me about a recall of my washer and dryer. The only reason I found out about it was searching for the specs as the washer finally died and I am replacing it. Trust me. I will not be purchasing a Maytag. I know that Whirlpool purchased Maytag so I am not even going to consider Whirlpool either. Since Whirlpool purchased Maytag, Whirlpool should have contacted all Maytag consumers, (which they didnt), put ads in newspapers (which I did not see) or put an ad on TV. None of these appeared to have happened.By the way, when I bought my Maytag appliances, I was supposed to get a $200 rebate for buying the stands that never came. It must have gotten lost in the mail - as well as the Tide coupons for three years. You, guys, remember that too. I will never ever purchase a Maytag appliance or Whirlpool, since they own Maytag now.

Within a year of purchasing this washing machine, I needed to schedule a repair service because the washer started making an unfamiliar noise. Repair Service shows up and refuses to touch my washer. The ink on the Serial and Model number (stick on label) inside the washing machine door has washed off. Sticker label in excellent shape, except all the ink has come off. If the Repair Serviceman cannot read the label, NO SERVICE FOR YOU. MY SAGA... Did you know that if your washer or dryer does not have a readable serial number on the machine, NO repair service will work on it. It does not matter if you have all the paperwork showing this information. If the original label is unreadable, no repair service will touch it because they will be fired. Maytag changes parts on a model all the time. The serial number is the ONLY way a serviceman can tell exactly what parts your washer was made with. Apparently the serial and model number label sticker was not printed with permanent ink. The Repair Service said the Serial and Model number ink washed off the label because the sticker was incorrectly put on the inside of the washer door at the bottom. But they were WRONG! Maytag shows online that is exactly where the serial and model number sticker is supposed to be located. So, I called Maytag to order a new serial number (stick on) label for our washer. I gave Maytag the information and I was told I would have the label in two weeks. Then I called back a week or so later to make sure the serial number was ordered and on the way. Maytag said there was a misunderstanding, and that they received my request on 6/17/15 and it was sent to the ONE AND ONLY GUY that makes replacement serial number tags and he was sent my request on 6/22/15. Maytag said it would take the one and only man quite some time to make the label (SINCE THERE IS ONLY ONE!!!) and I could expect to receive the replacement label in 4 to 6 weeks and they were sorry, but there was absolutely NOTHING they could do about it. So as my year old washer sits for over a month, Im going to the Laundromat each week. We should have received the new serial number on August 6, 2015. So it’s taken almost 2 months and my label is close to two weeks late. To date I have not received my serial number. I tried to use MAYTAG chat, dont bother, they said they couldnt help me. I needed to call in. So I emailed Maytag today for their support services to tell me WHEN I can expect to receive my new serial number label. I bought this through hhGregg. Check your Maytag washer. IF THE SERIAL NUMBER AND MODEL NUMBER LABEL ARE INSIDE THE DOOR, CHECK TO SEE IF THE INK IS COMING OFF THE MACHINE LABEL, and order a new one NOW if it is, or you will not be able to get your washer serviced. Do not put new label back on the inside of the washer door. This is just unbelievable.

Maytag products are a waste of money! I purchased a Maytag Front Load Washer a couple of years ago during the Cash for Clunkers rebate where we were asked to give up our reliable machines for so called energy efficient new models. After spending over $1,000 on this fancy front load machine and having it installed, I go to use it the first time and it won’t work. It took me a month to get someone to come and repair the bad board on it. I then started to use it and after a year, the thing started making a horrible loud noise. I called the repair folks and they told me it is out of warranty. I called a local repair guy who told me that the drum is shot and that it will cost $700 to repair. So I got a total of 10 months of use out of this stupid thing. Thats $100 a month to do my laundry! I would be better of dry cleaning! I have searched the web and see that this is a common issue and that Maytag refuses to make this right. Well, I can choose to never buy a Maytag again. I hope that others will heed our advice and do the same.

I was all too excited to FINALLY own a new set! I conducted research and read reviews. We decided on the Maytag Bravo XL set (Lowes) and was thrilled! For the first 6 months. They were both fantastic! 6 months later, several times the clothes washed were soaking wet as if they had been set on soak. It continuously alerted to clean after 3 loads. The dryer... Well, evidently, if you live in a high-humidity region, DO NOT HOOK TO THE WATER LINE FOR THE STEAM OPTION. It will soak your dry clothes! After 3 loads of drying, it fails to re-start for the 4th load for at least 12 hours! When paying over $1,590 for a new set, this should not be an issue. Mind you, I do laundry once a week - 5 to 7 loads including linen. Fortunately, we paid an additional $200 for the warranty at Lowes.Lets see what happens there!

I bought a Maytag range (MET-8775) last year, because my wife loves to bake and wanted the double oven. The oven never did brown properly, despite trying different temperatures and cookware. So, I called the 1-800 number in the manual. I was told they would have a technician come out and check it, and they assured me it was under warranty. The technician arrived, and since it was close to the end of the warranty period, I showed him the receipt for purchase. I got another assurance that this visit was covered by the warranty, before anything was actually done. Well, he checked it out and eventually calibrated the temperature. That helped a little, but still, it doesnt brown very well. About a month later, I got an invoice from the service company that dispatched the tech telling me Maytag will not cover the visit under warranty. After a long call with Maytag (now Whirlpool, I believe), I was told that since the calibration instructions were in the manual, it wasnt covered! Well, why wasnt the thing calibrated to begin with? And your average customer is expected to have an accurate thermometer/gauge to set it and know whether the temp is off or not? Why was I told twice that it would be covered? If either the lady on the 1-800 line or the tech who came had told me this wasnt covered, I would have argued a case right then. As it turned out, I had no choice but to get billed for something I was assured was covered. And as I said, it still doesnt brown right; and we had tried different temperatures before. We are preparing a major kitchen remodel, and its hard to believe that Maytag/Whirlpool would so thoroughly piss off a customer and potential future customer over an $80.00 service call.

I bought this new washer and dryer pair at Lowes August 2018. I chose this brand because of the very large wash tub (5.3 cu ft) since I have king size bedding. My previous washer was a front loader, and there were problems with the door seal molding and stinking, and loads had dry spots on them after washing. So within a very short time, I realized I hated this new washer. Very noisy, no agitator, very long cycles. You cannot adjust the time or water levels, and the biggest problem... I CANNOT REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB! I had to steal the grabby toy out of our toy box to pull the wet load out! The laundry comes out all tangled up and horribly wrinkled, even when using the wrinkle-free setting. I line dry a lot of my clothes and now have to iron everything. Never had to do that before. I know Im stuck with this set, but will look forward to the day when it dies and I can buy new ones again.

On August 25, 2011, we purchased a Maytag washing machine (Model Number MVVYC400XW2) at the Lowes Saugus, MA, store. Initially, we had no performance problems with it; however, on January 12, 2012, the washing machine wouldnt start. That day, I called Maytag for service on the machine, and it was fixed. Then on August 18, 2012, the same thing happened. A serviceman was called for the second time, and was repaired. Ironically, the Maytag 1- year warranty was expiring on August 24.Prior to the expiration of the Maytag warranty, I had been contacted by mail about an extended warranty plan, which I thought was being offered by Maytag, which it wasnt. The offer was being made by Federal Warranty Service Corporation. I purchased a 5-year extended warranty, expiring on August 25, 2017, the reason to have coverage for what seems to be a faulty machine. I would probably need it.Dealing with Federal Warranty has been nothing but grief. In 2012, the washing machine, had required 3 service calls, one with a Supervisor explaining my frustration with the number of service calls I have had made for the washing machine, but nothing has changed. Thus far in 2013, I have made two (2) additional calls for service on the same washing machine. Not only are there the numerous service calls made but the inconvenience of not having a washing machine, and the additional costs for outside laundering, during that time has to be taken into consideration. Additionally, my wife is 68 years old, and Im 71 (72 in August). Going up and down the stairs to the basement isnt something we should be doing, especially to find an inoperable washing machine.

Called Maytag to set up service call at around 9am for my washer, was given a rate of $129.00. Thought it was High but it was my only off day and felt confident that it would be a reputable company. If Maytag Priority Service would refer A&E Factory Service to me for service they must be a reputable company. I was sadly disappointed after numerous calls to A&E Factory service, a 5 hour window was not met and they were not concerned other than they would document it. Then I find out that A&E Factory Service has a Rating of 1 1/2 Star rating out of 5 and thousands of complaints to BBB and Consumer Affairs, dropped by Lowes for horrible customer service but Maytag Priority Service recommends them to service their product, says Volume on how Maytag takes care of their Valued customer after the sale. I have had this range (Maytag MER8775AS electric range) for 36 days. The hot surface indicator light doesnt come on (bulb is fine) and the heat elements turn on and off on their own when I am cooking. 36 days! This thing is junk! I am going to see if I can return it, even though it is outside the 30-day window.

First off, the drum split apart on the dryer. The drum part was not in this country, so instead of going ahead and replacing the clothes dryer, they told me to hang the clothes outside for six weeks or whenever the part comes in. That was three months after owning the piece of junk. I was having a bad day already, so I basically completely lost it. Im surprised I didnt get arrested for that. I wont ever lose my temper like that again. The clothes always smell bad, and sometimes really bad. Now, I find out that both washer and dryer could cause a fire. They are sending us a couple of really cheap GFCIs to keep them from a liability issue. Maytag is the absolute worst!

I purchased a matching set Maytag washer & dryer June 2013. Sept 2013 the drum went out - 4 weeks for that repair. March 2014 the electric panel went out. Took about 10 phone calls with hold waits of 30 to 70 minutes and 4 months, to find out the replacement part is no longer available and the washer is discontinued. To get a new matching set, I had to pay for a new dryer and they will give me a free washer. I have to give both washer and dryer back - I paid for 2 dryers. 6 month later and more phone calls, no washer and no one will return my calls. The dryer I paid for is at the appliance store waiting on the new washer. We consumers have nowhere to go. I have heard so many similar situations. Where are we to go? Who are we to call?

DO NOT BUY Whirlpool Corp Appliances, ESPECIALLY MAYTAG. They do not stand behind the units they sell. We dropped $600 on this Commercial Grade wash machine (5.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency White Top Load Washing Machine with Deep Clean Option, ENERGY STAR Model MVW7232HW) and paid to upgrade the lines to stainless steel. It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered. There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. The parts to fix it are back-ordered months and cost more than a new unit after install. Glad I paid $150 to learn all this. It also did not wash great on most settings. Purchased at Home Depot, they refused to stand behind the product as well.

I have a Maytag dishwasher MDBH980AWQ10, within the 1st month of owning it there were issues. Now the electronic control panel is shot, dishwasher wont turn on. To replace it...almost the cost of what I paid, warranty has run out. In the last 7 years we have had problems with 5 various Maytag products, replaced our Maytag dishwasher which lasted 20 yrs and Maytag washer & dryer that lasted 30+ years and ran without a hitch. Maytag has not been helpful at all and their authorized service repair. A&E Repair Service is a bigger scam than they are. It is a waste of my finances and time to buy major appliances every 5 years. Each and every one of their new appliances has died shortly after all the warranties have run out. Im beyond frustrated, disgusted, and financially drained. It does not pay to be brand loyal to Maytag for they are no longer respectful nor appreciative of their customers. I would love to give corporate the opportunity to enjoy the same products that are in my home...in their homes...as well as the experience of their customer service. Last Maytag purchase for me! Is there anything that I can do in the meantime so Im not stuck with their lemons?

Ordered new ones from dealer but rust continues and has spread to top of machine over the bleach dispenser. The metal is falling off! Bad rust on the inside lip under door also. I contacted Maytag when I first noticed rust and they blew me off so I contacted the local dealer we bought from and they did nothing to help. Perfectly great, cleans anything, not terribly quiet, but results are more than satisfactory. Good water pressure, cleans every nook and cranny, things come out spotless. I do not have anything else to compare, but I think the size is fine, I can put a lot of stuff in it. Controls in front at top, easy to use, clean appearance. Even though my dishwasher is 13 years old, I have not had any trouble with it. The top racks are strong and hold a good bit of glasses, cups and bowls. I have put baking pans, cookware, grates, and a lot of other stuff in to wash and it all came out clean.

The 2013 Maytag dishwasher panel broke 13 months after the purchase. After several phone calls and complaints they agreed to replace the panel at no charge. Since yesterday I have the same problem and need them to replace this washer. I am on a limited SS income and I am not in a position to purchase another washer after 3 yrs. My previous one lasted almost 15 yrs. This is totally unfair and I hope that Maytag replaces this entire machine, not just another repair. It will cost them a lot less to do that by either sending or having LOWES to replace this one. Thank you so much.Updated on 09/16/2016: Maytag is asking $300 to fix it and they will not replace it. So, by coincidence a friend of mine had the same problem and she did the following and I repeated these steps and now dishwasher is working. Turn off the switch or unplug, or turn off from the circuit box, your dishwasher. This cuts off electricity to the washer totally. Wait 30 seconds. Push the cancel button and hold on pressing it for 30 seconds (precisely, not less). Push then, the start button and hold on for 30 seconds again. Turn on the power and the cancel light will come on and let the cycle finish do not touch anything, until it is turned off and the light goes off by itself. Then, choose your selection for washing push start and see if it works. It did with mine and hers. Good luck and LADIES- YOU CAN DO IT, if this little old woman did it by herself.

The engineers at Maytag saved a few pennies by only using one thermistor for temperature control. It is in the box. There is nothing monitoring the temperature in the freezer. If you put your fridge in the garage where the temp is 40 degrees, the motor will never come on, and your frozen foods will melt! In my new MRT118FFFZ01 unit, the temperature in the box varies by plus or minus 3 degrees F, but the freezer varies from minus1 1 to plus 25 degrees F. 36 degrees difference! Lousy design. Have had two service calls, and they both said that this was the way it was designed and there is no fix for it.

The water got so bad it damaged my cabinets. I called Maytag, they admitted my model was sent out with no drain hose so this entire time my $2000 refrigerator had a missing part that they are very aware of. The part was free but I had to pay for the service. Its still leaking on the floor because the drip pan got fried from having no water in it to evaporate so it melted my drip pan, now it needs more service that I have to pay for. I have no faith that this will fix it. I will never buy Maytag again it feels like cheap plastic. I would love to start a claim against them for taking our money knowing the refrigerator has missing parts. Now Im part of the towel on the floor club group.

Never have I ever had white things that didnt stay white. I honestly would never buy this type of washer again. I am actually hoping that there is a way to at least change the water level. We purchased a Maytag MVWX655DW1 Bravos MCT washer in 2017 and I recall a sloshing sound during agitation. Its a high efficiency model and was okay for several months, I think. It began to make something of a clunking sound during agitation that was similar to the deceleration sounds when the spin cycle completes. It seems that is an indication that something is wrong. Clothes arent clean after washing - another reason to suspect a problem. I observed the wash cycles and noticed that some items dont even get wet during the wash cycle. The clunking is probably an indication of the type of failure but I couldnt find anything other than someone else asking the same question when I did an internet search. Expected performance is shown in a company video with water sloshing during agitation. Thats the key take-away. My basket moves back and forth an inch or two during agitation and makes a clunking sound at each direction change. Water isnt sloshing through clothing and some of the garage rags that were once my clothes probably just needed a good washing. I suppose that even cleaning the washer isnt accomplishing much. The spin cycle is actually impressive. I load the washer evenly and find the completed loads with a towel or shirt evenly covering the clothes pulled to the basket below. Unfortunately, thats probably the only part of the process cleaning anything. The enclosure says its designed and assembled in U.S.A. and, unfortunately, speaks to our manufacturing ability. Some of the engineers Ive worked with over the years suggested areas to inspect. I was able to use my phone camera to look under the unit and noted that it is controlled by a main drive motor and a little synchronous motor with a linkage that Im guessing changes agitation direction. Both are made in China. Ive considered repairing it and just pulled the wash plate for inspection and found nothing beyond the difficulty of pulling the wash plate. Probably an issue with the drive assembly and a few hundred dollars in parts to fix. Ive also had input from someone about the cost of replacing the control board. I grew up with TV commercials of the Maytag repairman with nothing to repair in the world of reliable, American products. Its disappointing to find that is no longer the case. The low tech GE washers weve used all our lives were old and ugly when they left our house. Not defective, a few drops of oil below or worn finish but still working. It really is a disappointment to look at where we are today. It didnt have to collect samples on Mars or deliver orders in a self-driving vehicle. A reliable washer to clean dirty clothes is all we hoped for.

Both Sears and Maytag have lost my business FOR GOOD! We purchased a Maytag Bravo XL # MGDB980W0 2 years ago. We called within the 1 year warranty period via Sears, they sent a tech out then charged us. The dryer kept shutting off before clothes were dry. We thought the problem resolved, then reoccurred after the 1 yr period. Neither Sears or Maytag would stand behind the product citing it has been discontinued due to problems. Well... yeah, no kidding. We paid BGE energy efficiency company to come out and evaluate it. They tweaked the exhaust vent and cleaned out the duct, however, they said we needed a new sensor. My wife bought a new sensor, installed it, and the dryer still wont work right! (Shutting off prior to clothes being dry). BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: I researched and bought a new gas LG dryer on sale at Home Depot and shelled out $849 unnecessarily thanks to shoddy product and lack of company integrity. DO NOT BUY SEARS OR MAYTAG!!!

My Maytag is 2 weeks old, and knew from the start I had a lemon. The compressor sounds like a giant freezer. I had the service man take a look at it, and while he was here the compressor did not come on. He pulled the plug from the fridge and turned it back on and still it did not turn on. I asked him to stay till it turned on and he said he could not stay any longer. I waited for him from 2 PM till 7:30 PM. He was to arrive between 3 and 6. Talk about frustration, and I only wish I had read all the reports before I bought this junker. I was so worried I decided to get the insurance for 4 years. The reason the ice forms is because you have no control over the ice. You cant see them and they get stuck. I had a side by side before this, and I can kick myself for not buying a side by side again. I was told to shut it it down when youve had enough ice cubes, to stop it from getting stuck. This ice maker is so big and so hard to pull out and the switch to turn it off is on the inside. So far my only complaint was the humming, but I can see a tough road ahead.

Would need 3rd panel for 8-year dishwasher - Either no lights come on the panel or Load done lights, like now. It has happened so many times over the years from about a year after spending a lot of money on a Quality unit. Many times I was able to operate it after turning the breaker off/on or leaving it to sit for a week or so, multiple times! Also, the rubber on the racks did not do so great - peeled and rusty. We bought a new Maytag Bravo series thinking we were buying the best product... not! The washer has been running great. But when it came time to clean the washer on the Affresh cycle, the washer overflowed. It turns out the washer fills up higher on the Affresh cycle than it does on the regular wash cycles. Well, that’s why it overflowed; the plastic tub that hold the water had a freaking crack in it near the top! This washer isnt even 3 months old. I had to get a repairman in here once to check it out, then again to come back and fix it. At least it was under warranty. Im afraid what else will happen. Piece of crap Maytag, great quality checks! First of all, the hoses that came with my washer leaked and were cheap made. My husband put the hoses from my old washing machine on the Maytag. Then, I hadnt had my Maytag washing machine but about two months when I had a problem with the mixer. I had to turn the hot water connection off in order to wash in cold water. When I called the store to explain the situation and ask if they had their own serviceman, the person I talked to made me feel like a complete idiot. He said in his twenty something years of selling Maytags, he had never heard of such a thing. Anyway, when a serviceman finally came, he also had to replace another part due to a recall. Now, my washer is right at four years old and is leaking from under it. My husband checked the hoses, and they are not the problem. I bought a Maytag thinking I was buying the top of the line but I guess I was wrong. I will not buy another one nor recommend them.

This is was my first time experience to purchase Maytag Bravos XL (MWWB835DW) 5.3-cu High Efficiency Washer. I need it fast replacement to my front loader Samsung washer as it was recalled and had mold issues. I was looking for a High Efficient and Star Energy digital, glass top reliable machine. I may say that I was fooled by advertisement and promotion from the Advertisement and promotion from Home Depot. I did not know much about Maytag Brand but I was convinced by sales person and price promotion. Big Mistake! Huge! I am extremely dissatisfied with this washer, it doesn’t use enough water to cover the clothes! No matter which cycle you use, the clothes don’t come clean.I wash and re-wash my clothes and ending up paying huge water and electric bills as I have to use deep hot water wash each time and after rewash again! Not so High Efficient! After using this machine for just over 6 month all my white expensive towels turned gray and all my whites is no longer white. This washer ruin my clothes. Another problem that this machine doesn’t have small load quick wash and if you have a small load it will go through 50 minutes cycle and I still need another wash after all! If I would wash my king size comforter I still have to do it twice and it does NOT rinse all the water out! I thought I can do big load but this machine cannot handle big loads! My laundry days became a nightmare! I would not call this machine High Efficient at all! Company does bogus advertisement just to fool and attract consumers. This is terrible washer which make me think how possibly this machine is on the market and allowed to be sold? I did not notice problem till very late and I missed my 90 days return policy. Now I have to find another replacement. What a waste of money! I do not recommend this machine to my enemy. Please read reviews before buying this horrible machine. Do not miss your 90 days policy returns. Save your water and electric bills by avoiding Bravos XL. I am hoping that Consumer Protection will step in and evaluate numbers of complaints and will help those who were fooled and ripped off by such a false advertisement.
