Bought a Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749AWM2 on 02 Jan 2012 with no issues whatsoever until three days ago when it stopped working altogether and after doing a series of tests I discovered that Im joining a large and growing list of owners with the same problem. I never have been a fan of digital controls due to their vulnerability to temperature and humidity conditions or high impacts for that matter. Ive owned many dishwashers of various brands for upwards of 10 years on average each. This is the first one not equipped with analog/mechanical controls. Im hoping I can still find more of that type.

I bought a Maytag washing machine September 2017. The lid is cracked. We were told by the repairman today that this is a common problem. The quote for a new lid was over $300. Of course we are not going to spend that much for just a lid. We will be buying a new washing machine and will not be buying a Maytag.

We purchased a refrigerator in December 2010 with a 12-month warranty. Since the refrigerator was delivered, we have experienced nothing but problems. Most recently, there was a problem with the auto defrost causing us to lose all our food stored. It also caused water damage to our floor. We scheduled maintenance with a contracted company through MayTag. After three scheduled visits, which made me miss 3 and a half days of work resulting in an additional loss of over $300, our refrigerator is still broken and they just want us to schedule another maintenance visit. When calling Maytag customer service we are literally told, “your loss, there is nothing we can do to resolve your issue, we can only continue to send out maintenance.” I am so disappointed in this company, the product, the customer service, maintenance service etc.

My Maytag MDB7609AWW2 dishwasher was purchased on 1/2010. Last month, the control board only worked on the right side of the panel and the dishwasher would not run. I called Maytag to see if this was a typical issue with the washer, which they denied. I ordered and replaced the control panel but this did not help. After reading all these posts, I do not think Maytag is being honest with their customers. Also, it looks like even if I am able to fix this issue, it is likely to repeat. I think I will cut my losses now and buy a different brand of dishwasher. I will never buy a Maytag again.

The Maytag Bravos XL low water washing machine is very disappointing. About 20% of the time it needs a second rinse because there isnt enough water released to rinse clothing. Forget washing anything large. It just doesnt do it. Waste of money. The matching dryer is just fine - no complaints.

On March 2011, I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7749AWB1. The dishwasher worked excellent for 16 months. One morning, with dishes loaded and ready to go, the start button would not light up. The other buttons did light up but that did me no good, I need the start button. A few days later, none of the buttons would light up. I found a repair person who said it would cost over $200.00 to make repairs. I refuse to put another penny with no guarantee that this new part would work. I will never ever buy another Maytag appliance. The last inexpensive, unknown manufacturers dishwasher lasted me 13 years. Do not waste your money on this thing.

After 18 months of use Our Maytag Dishwasher (MDB7749) has the same control panel problem as a lot of other user complaints. I wish I too had read the consumer reviews before my purchase. We will never buy another Whirlpool product!!

My freezer has been leaking from the bottom for a few months and now the icemaker has quit working as well. The refrigerator has been purchased less than two years ago. The warranty is expired. I will not fix this refrigerator, as it is a gigantic piece of junk. However I would like to be compensated by Maytag at least 1/3 of the price so I can have it removed from my house before it creates more damage to my floors and subfloors.

Wish there was some way to secure all dishwasher under the cabinets better. It tips forward slightly, but gets caught on counter top, so it won’t fall over. The dishwasher itself is truly amazing. I love the stainless steel inside. I ensure I use the dishwasher cleaner on hottest cycle once a month. I have no odors. Both racks hold up well and the silverware tray has never given me any problems. I even like the thin little third top rack, which is where I lay my larger flat knives or spatula. As long as I use the finish dishwasher cleaner, the dishes come out sparkling. And a few times I have forgotten to fill the finish container, the dishes still sparkle. My teenagers do the dishes a few times a week. They don’t wash them off ahead of time. On occasion I have to pick a few pieces of corn or food out of the bottom, but the dishes still sparkle and the leftover food caught on the drain, well it looks clean enough to eat. I would definitely buy it again.

I bought a fridge from Home Depot. It was on sale and not a Maytag. Somehow they delivered a Maytag. I am over-the-top happy with my fridge. It keep things cold. It is roomy, It has separate temp controls for the freezer and fridge. The bright LED lighting is wonderful. It is energy efficient. It is easy to move around when I need to clean under it. It was delivered right away.

Home Depot is selling defective appliances manufactured by Whirlpool and refuses to provide a full refund. I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in August of 2010.Washer broke in February of 2011. No parts available for repair, Whirlpool replaced washer after 4 weeks. This washer broke in July 2011. No parts are available for repair until August 17th.

DO NOT BUY Whirlpool Corp Appliances, ESPECIALLY MAYTAG. They do not stand behind the units they sell. We dropped $600 on this Commercial Grade wash machine (5.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency White Top Load Washing Machine with Deep Clean Option, ENERGY STAR Model MVW7232HW) and paid to upgrade the lines to stainless steel. It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered.There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. The parts to fix it are back-ordered months and cost more than a new unit after install. Glad I paid $150 to learn all this. It also did not wash great on most settings. Purchased at Home Depot, they refused to stand behind the product as well.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher in January of 2011. Two years later the entire machine stopped working. We had purchased the extended warranty and the control board and panel were replaced. Now two years later it happens again. Maytag/Whirlpool is of no help nor do they care. DO NOT purchase their product!! Multiple complaints and issues with faulty control panels and the cost to replace one is the same as buying a new dishwasher so they cant lose. I will never again own a Maytag or Whirlpool product.

Purchased a stackable washer and dryer (Maytag) for our new condo in Feb 2015. After it was installed a few months later the problems began. The washer wasnt removing the water from the clothes. We contacted Maytag and they informed us that they subcontract out to a company called Appliance Service of Central Florida (727-462-0394). Contacted Appliance Service and set up a date to be serviced. Since then, we have had Appliance Service out to our place over 8 times. They found fault in our control panel, our door lock, replaced our motor and have replace several other parts. It has been over 4 months since they started repairs on our machine and have informed me that they have a right to try and fix the problem. I have no problem with this but when and how long do I have to put up with this? They dont seem to care that my wife and I havent had a working washer in over 4 months.The people doing the repairs stated that this machine should have been replaced because it had or has several problems with it and after replacing the motor, electric panel etc it still isnt working. When I contacted Maytag they stated that as long as Appliance Service is working on the problem, it out of their hands. Is there anything I can do besides contacting a lawyer and spending more money?

Should have read reviews. Ill never buy another Maytag. This stove has been bad almost from start. Stove has burned marks from using broil. Repairman told me not to use broil anymore. One of eyes has been worked on 2 times; the knob does not work correctly; when you turn off, it goes past the off and keeps on going to the left. It is very hard to clean surface. I have had a few years. Company paid for one repair. They should have replaced stove from beginning. Not safe.

This washer does not distribute enough water to wash clothes properly. I continually take clothes out of washer that are not completely wet. My darker clothes have white spots of detergent on them that did not get rinsed off. This product should be pulled from the stores. We have tried everything, using deep water wash, bedding wash, to get more water in the machine. Our clothes are not coming out clean. Complete waste of our money!

I have had 2 Geminis. The first one was fine, this second one is a mess. I have had at least half a dozen parts replaced. I have insurance to have this oven repaired but have paid to have the window seal replaced on at least 3 occasions. The top of the oven is so hot that when I have used the burners to cook on top I have received 2nd degree burns. I have received burns on several occasions. I asked dealer if I could trade this in but said I would have to sell it on my own. I would not subject this oven to another person as I feel it is very dangerous.

1. can not get enough water in the Maytag machine to cover the clothes. 2. All of the clothes come out twisted. 3. After watching the machine wash the clothes I notice that agitator did not move all of the clothes down into the water, and that was probably because there was not enough water in the tub. 4. The machine gets out of balance easily and at that time the machine door is locked and you need to push the pause button and wait for it to unlock the door. 5. Its louder than my old Kenmore washer that we have had for 15 years.6. The Maytag dryer does not dry as fast as my old Kenmore dryer that we have had for 15 years.Bottom line is I would not buy another Maytag product. Do your homework.

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. Maytag used to be a good name, but recommend you to buy something else.

We purchased a Maytag Centennial line washer (Model # MVWC400XW0) and paid a little more hoping that it will last longer than a normal washer. After just 14 months, the washer breaks and we are forced to buy an extended warranty from Maytag for $300. The warranty price seemed a little high; however, the only other option was to buy a new washer. The repair guys showed and said it should be fixed.After just three weeks, the washer broke again with the exact same symptom. Since I had the extended warranty, I called in another ticket. A different repair guy showed up and he said the first guy messed up. He said the guy misread the diagnostic code and didnt even put in the part that he said he replaced. The repair guy checked with Maytag and they told him it was no longer cost effective to fix our washer. Really? They overcharged for the warranty and wont even repair it when it breaks. The only reason I can think Maytag would do this is that they know the washers are junk.

Im extremely disappointed in this machine. I bought this machine after having my Kitchen Aid for 12 yrs. Just last month, the UL message came on. Had someone looked at it and noticed the bearing was loose. He fixed it, just today, it started doing the same thing again!!!!! Now it might be a suspension problem. Of course my warranty expired because I bought it in November 2012. Im never ever going to buy a Maytag washer again!!! Can someone help me to take my complaint to higher up?Thank you..

I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. After reading all the about the Maytag bottom fridge leaks and other problems, I refuse to get the same one again. If they do not do something, I promise I will before I get hurt again!

My husband and I purchased both a Maytag washer MVWX655DW1 and dryer MEDX655DW1 less than 3 years ago from Sears. We had both the washer and dryer professionally installed. Yesterday, we had an authorized service man come in and look at the problems we were having. He told us our Maytag washer would need a new gear case and gears costing $750.Our Dryer, same age, needed a new cycling thermostat. He said it was due to not cleaning out the lint trap. My husband and clean the lint trap after every load religiously. He said there was a pile of lint built up in the dryer. I could only think this would be a design flaw. To repair the dryer it would cost $350. The grand total to repair our Maytag Washer and Dryers would be $1100. We paid $1082.38 at Sears for both. The only thing Maytag offered to cover was a part for the washer which would cost $640 and we would need to pay the extra $110 for service in addition the $150 diagnostic charge, due to use being out of our one year warranty.We decided to not fix this machine to avoid similar problems in the future. I talked to customer service and asked them to cover the diagnostic charge instead of sending the part, which is far more costly. I got the runaround and 3 rejections before they finally agreed to pay for the diagnostic charge. My husband and I are extremely disappointed in this experience. We currently own a Maytag Microwave and Electric Glass Top Range. We will never buy Maytag again. Our Stove is also lacking. We have the AquaLift cleaning stove. The AquaLift technology does not work.

Faulty Maytag MDB8969 Dishwasher - BEWARE! Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, Amana, Maytag, KitchenAid... Are all brands that fall under Whirlpool. According to Better Business Bureau statistics there is less than 1 chance in 10 that you will get the Whirlpool product you are expecting! We purchased a new Maytag dishwasher at the end of 2016. Within a couple of weeks the dishwasher began failing: discharge pumps, heating elements, soap dispensers, door leaks, faulty racks, rinsing problems... Since purchasing the machine we have had to make 7 different service calls, all under warranty. The warranty service providers have been good but the machine has been a catastrophe, having been out of commission for several of the 18 months since being installed, and causing serious water damage to our kitchen floor (based on several other negative reviews this leaking is not an uncommon occurrence).A few months into owning the machine, after our 3rd service call, we contacted Whirlpool, Customer Service and asked for the machine to be replaced. They refused to replace the machine but extended our warranty free of charge- better than nothing but not a cure to the problem and the only remedial action that Whirlpool was willing to offer. We didnt understand at that point that the problem of faulty and defective Whirlpool products was probably so huge that Whirlpool could not afford to provide a reasonable solution to their customers; leaving many, as witnessed on various product review sites, to bear the extreme frustration and associated expenses borne from the incurred failures. Unfortunately, here we are once again, requesting our 7th service call in less than 18 months, and asking once again for a replacement.The Whirlpool response this time (CSR was not allowed to let us speak to her Supervisor in spite of trying to negotiate that for several minutes) was that they would not replace the defective machine but would sell us a new $850 machine for $250 and would dispose of the faulty machine for an additional $25. Whirlpool would not however pay for the uninstall of the faulty unit nor the install of the new unit (about $350) which would have to come out of our pocket. We won’t be spending the additional $600 to fix this problem as proposed by Whirlpool; we won’t be installing another Maytag product in our home. We were advised that we could fill out a form if we wanted, to try and claim for the damages which the dishwasher caused to our kitchen floor. The form was never emailed as agreed and now we are just really tired of the whole experience so will simply put this all behind us.Our Whirlpool experience has been extremely stressful and quite expensive. It is clear to us that if an appliance which is averaging a serious failure every 3 months since the first day of installation, does not in the opinion of Whirlpool warrant a full and prompt replacement, or even the direct telephone attention of a Customer Service Supervisor, that the Whirlpool quality standard must be so low, the failure frequencies so high, that the number of similar failures prohibits any commercial viability to manage the problems in a reputable manner. Whirlpool clearly has some very large problems. It would not have been easy to destroy the once highly respected Maytag name. Such degradation could only take place as a result of continuous and ongoing Whirlpool quality degradation. We will no longer be their ‘crash test dummies’ but I do hope for the sake of Whirlpool (apparently North American made) that they take ownership of their poor quality condition, realign and spend the next few years becoming the company that we all once knew and respected.

I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer combo 2 years ago. Dryer is fine, but washer was EXTREMELY noisy from day 1 and has gone downhill since. It would leak during spin cycle and frequently stop due to unbalanced load, refill and stop again. Now it wont spin at all! We have checked to make sure it is level, it is. I live in a very rural area and its very difficult to get repairmen to come out. This is my first and last Maytag for me.

I believe the Maytag Bravo washer and dryer was manufactured so the Maytag man would have something to do once again! Buyers Beware! My $800 washer broke down 1 week after warranty costing me $400 to repair!!! Half the cost of a new one... now the dryer is making horrible noises. I fear calling for repair... or should I just buy a new different one?? My last washer and dryer lasted 30 years!!! Bravo certainly did not have all the kinks out of them before marketing them! The cost is to the consumer who trusted the name! You cannot return a 2 year old appliance! The laundromat would have been less costly than this washer and dryer! Maytag should be made to recall these defective machines or at least repair for free. Do not buy!

I attempted over and over just to swap out washing machines. I originally purchased a washer and dryer because of a defect in the top load they delivered. They talked me in to the frontload Neptune instead. Within months I started having daily reactions to mold and to my disgust found out it was from my washing machine. I begged to switch back to the top load I originally ordered and the store would not let me and referred me to Maytag who sent me some tablets and would help me no further. Apparently, the Maytag repairman wasnt lonely anymore if a product had to be manufactured and ready for complaint calls. Well I used the product. I used vinegar and baking soda. I have used hot water and bleach. I have left the door open to dry...It is the most cared for item in our family and the one that makes me ill literally. I cannot afford to buy a different one and would be interested to know if my husband’s declining health issues have anything to do with our mold issue or if it is just depression...Anyway, I was very discouraged to find out that other people in other states had washing machines replaced, but why didnt I? I would be happy if they could buy back my old Maytag that I had prior to this Neptune, I am sure it is making someone very happy somewhere. Why couldnt they have respected my very true complaint? I was not trying to get something for nothing. I paid for something to keep us cleaner and free from allergens and instead wash my clothes in mold and have mold spores leaching into the air in my home. Please help.

I spent over 2000 on a Maytag refrigerator. In less than 5 years, the coolant system has gone out twice! The only response I get is, “We are sorry, but it is 5 years old.” Are you kidding me? I have a 20-year-old fridge in the garage that is still working and I didnt spend over $2k on it! I thought Maytag was the best product out there and it certainly is not. Do not ever buy Maytag.

We purchased Maytag microwave (MMV4205DH1) less than two years ago. Within the first year, the microwave would not work and we would see an Open and Close Door message. We had it repaired and now 10 months later it is doing the same thing. The cost of repairs is high--the same as a new microwave. We have been inconvenienced throughout the holidays by our broken appliance. Disappointed.

Bought this machine last spring with high hopes. When I noticed issues, I looked up other reviews and saw so many having the same experiences. It does NOT use enough water to clean or rinse the clothes. My clothes are getting stretched and worn. I have to run extra rinse cycles to get the detergent out of my clothes. For the cost of this machine, it should be working much more efficiently than it does. Not seeing any savings in electricity or water bill due to extra cycles needed. Waste of time and money. Would love to join a class action suit against them for the piece of junk!

I purchased the most expensive stackable set available. After 3 years the Maytag Front Load Washer is dead. Wont turn on or receive electricity. It stopped in the middle of a cycle so I have an entire load locked inside. A repair person came out and confirmed $600-$1,400 to replace computer electronics. Right on the front of the machine, there is a shiny tag displaying 10-year Warranty. I live chatted with Maytag. Only the drum and some other ridiculous part is covered. She told me to call the 800 number to speak with a customer rep. After trying 2 times and being put on hold for over a half hour, I hung up. I WILL NEVER BUY A MAYTAG AGAIN!

Maytag Centennial Model MVWC400XW4 - Washer is leaking from the bottom and making loud noises when spinning. Called the Maytag repairman and right away said that the bearings were bad. He said it was a 800 dollar repair for this 500 dollar machine. The service call cost me $97. I immediately went out and bought a GE machine. I wont buy another Maytag.

This Bravos top load was supposed to be energy efficient but after leaking and getting a repair estimate ($79) the technician informed me that the ring and putter tub (all cheap plastic) had several large holes in thin caused by an uneven load. Total cost of repair was $517 for a $900 washer after 3 years. He suggested that the Maytag was junk and that I buy a speed queen...LOL. When I called Maytag of course they lied and said they were not aware of any problems and would not help with the cost of repairs. Can everyone say Class Action Lawsuit...Shame on Maytag! DO NOT BUY THIS washing machine!

This Maytag refrigerator is a counter depth so a little smaller in the Inside than I would like but fits in my tiny kitchen great. It has an inside water dispenser which is so nice because it keeps the clean look on the outside. It’s a year old and so far I have not had any problems with it.

We bought a Maytag French Door 21 cu. ft. refrigerator in 2008. 2010, 3 repairs later, the ice machine went out, we went back to ice trays. Now the compressor died. The old ad of bored Maytag repairmen cause they never need repairs is bogus.

The right front heating element works at the high position only. The over doors viewing glass is too fragile. It shattered while positioning the range. Otherwise, there are no other issues with electric range.

The low water usage design is horrible. Clothes dont get clean as it doesnt use enough water to cover them. Takes twice as long to do a load as our old washer. Took about 1 1/4 hours yesterday for 1 load using heavy which is the only setting that uses more than a thimble of water. Should have looked for a commercial type with a real agitator and adequate water usage. Not saying Maytag is probably any worse than any other brand of new efficiency government mandated garbage washer, but its no good.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749AWB2 in Dec. 2011 from Home Depot after a major flood destroyed my entire first floor of my house. I had replaced a previous dishwasher only a short time before the flood. This dishwasher is JUNK. I was lucky I bought a five year extended warranty on it which actually gave me 6 years. I needed it. Within a year the control panel went. Then water started spraying out the side of door. Then it sounded like it was crushing ice every time I ran it. Then the control panel went out again. Ice noise came back again. Control panel a 3rd time. It runs for hours as it is.Now the warranty is expired and last time I ran it the start light was blinking a few hours later. We were having high winds on and off so I thought maybe the power went on and off and that’s why it was blinking. Today I turned it on and after about 45 minutes I realized I didn’t hear it running anymore so I got up and looked and sure enough it wasn’t on. Normally the clean light is lit when done. I opened the dishwasher to see it filled with water still. I tried to hit cancel/drain but nothing works yet again. Wonderful news for a single mom that can’t afford to fix this over and over! Maytag is the worse company. Their dishwashers are horrible and they should be doing something about this as I’m not the only one that has had this issue. Home Depot was just as useless. Will NEVER buy again.

We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator Model # MBF2258DEHM on 12/21/2015. Just a couple of issues I would like to bring to your attention before you purchase your Maytag. The single refrigerator door does not close automatically. You have to close the door. The metal handle is metal and has a metal smell and feel to it. The stainless steel door and the handles are not the same finish. Although this might not be a problem for some who like the industrial look I prefer my hands to be free of chemicals while I am preparing food. The ice maker takes up too much room. The ice maker should have been an option, not a standard item. I had a Kitchen Aid for 10 years and loved it. I thought I was going to have my Kitchen Aid for 15 years or more. I would have purchased another Kitchen Aid, but the reviews were not good.

This is the loudest washing machine Ive ever had!!! I ask the installer if it was suppose to be so loud & he said yes. The machines sounds like metal scraping metal when its washing the clothes.

First off, everyone seeing this should be fuming as I am because we are mostly in the same boat with these control panel issues. Mine is Maytag model MDB7749SBM3 about 575.00. A little bit cheaper than most of you because I purchased at the online and had a rebate. About a couple months after the warranty expired, we started having weird light issues with the control panel where are one light would pop up when you didnt hit it or other lights would pop up when you hit something else. We kept dealing with it thinking that it would dry out and resolve itself. Lo and behold, just like it appears to be tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of machines, it quit. I read this consumer affairs post after it quit and now I know why it did. I opened up the control panel and sure enough, the little ribbon that connects all the electrical connections had brown on the back like it was burnt through. I was able to find a special 1 800 number that Whirlpool has set up because they have purchased Maytag and the woman I spoke with said they would send a technician out and that I was responsible for the diagnostic fee. I was born but it wasnt yesterday. I immediately said to the woman, Absolutely unacceptable. I am NOT paying for anything, very politely highlighting the fact that I know they settled a class action lawsuit in California regarding a control panel issue and there are hundreds maybe thousands of complaints on consumer affairs.com. The woman place me on hold, I am assuming to speak with her supervisor and then let me know that they would pay for the diagnostic fee. She said a repair date for me for about a week and a half later. The repairman had a good day because the dishwasher was already disassembled for him and he proceeded to take pictures and call Maytag. Maytag told him that I was responsible for the installation cost and service fee which according to the technician is about a hundred bucks. I told the technician that is fine but it will not be fine when I call Maytag back. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher and associated damages. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars but I am only on this to let you know that every single one of us needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher in associated damages in small claims court. I plan on filing a claim for approximately $700 for a new dishwasher and damages. In my opinion, I feel like we should all do this, otherwise big corporations like this will continue to shovel garbage into the stores left and right.Have a good day and good luck with your court case hopefully. We purchased a Maytag Bravos washer & dryer in September 2012 and 2 1/2 years later March 2015, no heat. We called a repairman and he said heat element went out. When researching this problem online I was shocked how many people had the same problem as we have. It cost over $300 to fix and I am concerned that it will just break again and again after reading these reviews. I think that a class action lawsuit may be needed so that this unfortunate situation does not continue to happen to other consumers.

The serial number is MDB8979SBWD. Just a few months before warranty expired the buttons were being flaky. Eventually it would not start. We brought it to the dealer because they wanted $150 to come to the house. They replaced the front panel. It lasted less than a year and stopped working again. Being out of warranty and being a technician I took off the panel and saw that there was no insulation in so the humidity would build up. The wires in the ribbon wire were corroded. I looked up the price of the panel and it was $150. The dealer wanted $150. I did not want to replace it because of the possibility that was not the only problem. We paid $400 for it on sale, (a mistake I know better than to buy stuff on close outs.) FYI to get the dealer to deal with it it would cost $300! From reading these complaints this panel seems to be a real problem with this and Maytag is not supporting this LEMON. I see a lawsuit here. Too bad Maytag is only out for profit. What is disappointing is that Maytag is owned by Whirlpool. Whirlpool has or used to have good appliances. We had a microwave that lasted 15 years and our last dishwasher that lasted 15 years. We will never buy Maytag or Whirlpool again. Maytag is junk. The dishwasher is probably ok except for the panel. Shame to get rid of it for that but unless I can bypass it that is what we will have to do. $150 is too much for a gamble and it seems that panel is a problem so it probably would not last long anyway.

We purchased a Maytag front load washer in May 2006 (MAH6700AWW). In November 2012 we had a leak and called a repair service. We were told it was the dispensing hose which had a hole worn in it and was replaced. In February 2014, we called the same service and was told that we had the same problem. Now in November 2014 we are experiencing the same problem. We have notified Whirlpool of this problem and each time were told that the machine was too old to reimburse us in any way. Guess who wont be buying any Whirlpool products if they do not back up their faulty workmanship.

This machine doesnt wash your clothes. It leaves them dry & the agitator sucks too. I am so annoyed. I just bought them & had them delivered 7/27/15. It has only been a few days & NOT satisfied. Overpriced over $800 for it & its crap! Same with the Bravo dryer, it takes forever to dry. I wish I still had my old washer & dryer (had them for 7 years, NO problems). Very unsatisfied. DONT buy these, they are total CRAP!

I am grateful I dont have to beat my clothes on a rock. Absolutely the worst dryer Ive ever had!!! Previous Kenmore washer was my favorite! This Maytag does not allow me options to stop, soak & freely open & close as I choose. Even my adult children who occasionally use it say its the worst!

I bought a new Maytag French door refrigerator a few years ago and have been disappointed ever since. The quality is second rate and now the ice maker has failed. The product looks good but performs poorly. Buy a more quality foreign made product instead. Before this I had an LG which was quieter and never had a problem after 10 years.

Maytag Bravos washer and dryer both need replaced in 3.5 years! Control board had to be replaced on washer in under 2 years and now the replacement went bad in about 15 months. Maytag can’t help! Hundreds of dollars wasted. Dryer is not much better as the control board is now malfunctioning! DO NOT PURCHASE MAYTAG!

Internet stated refrigerators should last a minimum of 13 yrs and up. Mine is less than 5 yrs. old, a Maytag 25 cu. ft. French Door Bottom Mount Ref. with freezer on the bottom (MFF2558VEW). Had to replace upper gasket in less than 1 yr. of purchase and needs another now (not affecting the sealing aspect on doors, more aesthetic on upper door thin flap that tears easily).Drain plug & configuration for drain was a known manufacturers defect, but cost me money to replace as 3 yr. extended warranty expired. Lower gasket had to be replaced in yr. 4 of ownership, bottom of freezer was producing a sheet of ice that needed removal every week. Normal settings is #3 for both top and bottom, worked fine for 4 yrs at this setting.Last month irregular cooling started to occur- top down to 52 degrees and bottom freezer below -20 degrees - ice cream hard as rock, have to defrost each time in microwave. Maytag repairman said could find nothing wrong, but try emptying entire contents and unplug for 24 hrs. I could hear pieces of ice melting and dropping throughout the evening. Next morning towels I had put around frig were saturated with water. Restarted frig after 24 hrs. and was working fine for 5 wks.This week same exact problem returned so I did the same thing only this time I had to go out and buy a small chest freezer as I had a full one in my Maytag and no place to put frozen food. It is nearing 24 hrs. and no water has appeared on the floor nor did I hear any ice melting and dropping - so dont know what to do. Will call repair man again and see what he suggests. As soon as I can afford another $1400 frig (this was on sale for $1,002 after discounts, but I will buy a less expensive one this time) I will purchase another brand with NO French doors and no bottom freezer. I loved my frig the first 3 yrs. under warranty, but now causing me too much physical problems having to empty and restock frig for repairs. I have a Tappan Frigidaire in the garage that is from 1998 - I bought from a neighbor who was moving and it has been working fine for 16 yrs. with no repairs. They dont make them like they used to!

We are a family of three. We purchased our Washer and Dryer New, November 2011 at Lowes, in Lindale TX. I am disabled. I have had several spine surgeries and getting ready for another. I was injured at work and it left me crippled. I do not receive any benefits from my County Employer. My wife is a schoolteacher. We live on a limited income after my accident. We purchased this set with utmost confidence, our last set was twenty years old. We updated due to water, electric, and the environment. Our Maytags we had were still usable, it was just time for their retirement. They were hand me downs washer and dryer set. Truly! I dont know how old they were. When our washer started having troubles, it was making a horrible noise. We called Hughes Appliance. Theyre an authorized Maytag Repair Service Warranty Center. They sent Mark out we used them before. He stated the motor was not loctited from the factory. It worked its way loose almost coming completely off. This cost me a $85 service call. Mark also stated that the Tub Bearings were going out because off this. He called Maytag Customer Service and Dealer Warranty Service, said they wouldnt pay for the repairs or even the Service call for their factorys snotty WorkmanShip. I tried calling myself and got absolutely nowhere. I was polite, courteous and nice and they still Said, Sorry, We Know its less than three years old but thats the way it is. Sorry Sir! Have Nice Day! Its going to cost $389 to replace the tub bearings in top load washer. The washer only cost about 750 less than three years ago. Its the most expensive clothes washer Ive ever owned. One thing! If they dont make things right, I promise I will never own a Maytag again! And when I am in a store and see someone looking at their product I will make a point to tell them my situation and about my Maytag Washer. Our dishwasher developed a smell. We do regular maintenance and care of this dishwasher. Come to discover the entire thing is full of mold. Customer service is rude and expects us to wait two weeks for a service person to come out. Will not use the dishwasher because it is probably making our family sick. I have never experienced customer service like this. DO NOT BUY DISHWASHERS FROM THEM. They don’t care the product is defective and they don’t care about their customers or their safety.

I bought Washer and Dryer Pair new less than 2 years ago. Within 6 months of purchase, the bearing went - warranty. Then 1 week before one year old, bearing went again. I contacted Maytag. They told me it was my problem and I should have bought extended warranty. Lemon law should apply and I asked about appeal process and was told that there is no such thing. Now, the washer is needing a new pump and it is not even 2 years old!

Wow, my dream oven, or now nightmare! I purchased a Maytag dbl oven MGR6775BDS in 2007. The top oven stopped working first after about 3 years and this week, the bottom. I cooked a meal on Monday and Wednesday. Without notice, it would not go past pre-heat. I have called several people and they all act as if this was a truly unique situation. Since I have been out of work, both my regular and extended warranty have expired. I had good faith in a product that carried the name Maytag and the fact that it was on sale for $1,200. I didnt know I had so much company. Yeah, I was told I could purchase a repair warranty for the sale price of $340. Oh yeah, I replaced a 20+ year old oven for the new and stainless dbl oven of my dreams.

This washer had good reviews when we bought it, but now today the agitator is not working. I see there are now 100s of bad reviews of this machine most around the same 1 1/2 year mark. How unacceptable to have a large appliance like this break after such a short time. Ive called Maytag to see if there was a recall and there is not. They offered the extended warranty to me for $325 that would cover all parts and labor. Ridiculous.

In 2011, I purchased 2 Maytag dishwashers, one for my tenant and one for myself. In 2014, the circuit board on my tenants dishwasher failed, when the unit was only 3 years old and of course out of warranty. I first contacted a local repair person, and he informed me that the repair plus service would be close to $300. When I contacted the company, after about an hour on the phone, they agreed to send their authorized repair service person and after his evaluation, would repair the unit with no charge to me, as a courtesy. This whole process took about 2-3 weeks. I felt that was fair. It is now 2015, and my unit, which I purchased at the same time and the same type, now is not working due to a faulty circuit board. My tenant uses her dishwasher more frequently, and that is most likely why her circuit board went first. This is a design flaw, or perhaps planned obsolescence. At any rate, Im not happy with this, and my model is mdb7809awb2, and serial # is FO4205659. Do you know if there have been any other complaints on this? After considerable wait times, I spoke to someone who set up a diagnostic repair call, giving me the impression that Maytag would cover it. When the repair company called, they told me that I would be charged $104.95 just for diagnostics. Labor and parts would be additional. I called Maytag again, and they agreed to let the repair company charge back the diagnostic fee. After diagnosing the problem, it was determined the problem was the control panel and not the circuit board. The cost to repair with tax came to $315.85 and it was only this low because the repair company waived the return service trip. I can get a new dishwasher for a little over $400.00. I am very disappointed in Maytag, because I remember the commercials where the Maytag repair man was bored because the products were so dependable they never broke. My unit is only 4 years old, and its sad that it costs so much to repair it.

This so called high efficiency washing machine, and others like it are absolutely awful. They do not properly clean clothes. I frequently have to put loads of clothes through two or even three times in order to get things cleaned properly which our old washer did easily in one wash. That is the exact opposite of efficient. It is so bad that it actually borders on being a genuine scam. Do not buy! Huge waste of money.

It's mounted above the stove, ten years old and still looks & operates like brand new. Have never had a problem with it and it's used almost daily. From heating up food to making dinner & popcorn. This is the longest lasting microwave I've ever purchased. Maytag made a great product.

We had remodeled our kitchen in 2009. Bought new fridge and stove (Maytag). The oven door came off and cant get it back on. No matter how many times we tried, no way can we get it back on. I had to have my son to come and help us. No sooner did we use the handle to open the door off again. This has been going on for 3 years. **, well fed up. I called Maytag about this issue and they told me they would get a repair at my cost. The fridge freezes all the produce, cant regulate the temperature. Never ever will we buy any Maytag product again. Who knows what’s going to happen next? Oh, and the paint is chipping off of the grates of the gas stove.

Bought this Dishwasher two years ago. Control panel was working intermittently now it does not work. I am looking for anyone with this same problem. I know lawyers who are class action specialists who fight for the consumer. We need to make Maytag responsible for the flaws they have in their product. From reading these other reviews it seems that this control panel issue is consistent no matter what model you have. They must all share the same electrical components that is causing this issue with the control panel. My model number is MDB8959SBS2.

The last Maytag washer was great, the dryer not so much, but I was able to repair it. This Bravos is sorry. 4 years old and the tube goes bad is not what you would expect from Maytag. Consequences, no more Maytag or GE for that matter, that dont leave many brands to choose from.

We are on our 2nd Bravos XL. The first washer lasted 6 years and there was a part going out that kept making it stop in the process. Basically the repair guy said it will just go out one day so it was up to us to repair or replace the machine. The machine didn’t have an agitator and we had been having issues with white residue on the clothes for a long time but thought it was related to the other part. So we bought a new one, with an agitator. It was the new model. We’ve had it around 6 months and we have lots of issues with the white residue. The only success we have with not getting white residue on darks is using deep fill and very little detergent. We use powder because the liquid makes dark spots on our dark clothes. So either way, there’s a problem. So we are using a lot of water when it’s supposed to be water saving. And we are using much less detergent that the company says. I think it’s the machine that has problems. I’ve read a long thread on Facebook and it appears that Maytag tells you to use Affresh regularly. It also says to follow their instructions. But everyone seems to follow instructions but Maytag takes no responsibility for their product. Makes me sad because Maytag was the best on the market at one time and we will never buy again. Our dryer works fine but the washer sucks. And that was a lot of money that I paid. I hope that Maytag decides to make it right and help their “customers” enjoy their products once again.

We bought this washer in February of 2010. We had the pump replaced under warranty in January of 2011, and the pump appeared to have a hole in it from some type of hard object that had gotten inside the pump and damaged it. We then replaced the L-shaped hose between the tank and the pump because it had a small hole in it - very thin rubber. Last week, the washer was leaking again and the service technician said that the pump housing was cracked due to a penny rattling around inside the pump.This washer performs very well when it is working but it seems to be too fragile to handle on normal usage. The Whirlpool washer we replaced with this one ran for 23 years with no problems before it finally went out. From all appearances, it seems that every failure we have had with this washer has been due to damage from foreign objects getting trapped in the pump. Is there no screening mechanism to prevent hard objects from entering the pump? This seems to be a design flaw more than anything.

CONSUMER BEWARE: Maytag is the WORST corporation to deal with. We have purchased a Maytag range from them recently. Unfortunately we have had 4 appliances delivered to us damaged from Maytag. The fourth time around we finally got a supervisor on the line. In order to expedite the situation. And the supervisor (Frank) refused to expedite or even call to try and move up the 5th delivery date. All he talked about was Maytag company policies to us. To make a long story short and I do mean long. Buyers beware. Maytag DOES NOT HOLD THEMSELVES ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANYTHING. Once the appliance leaves their facility they are not responsible for it. Bought a Maytag Front Load MHW6000AW washer and had a problem with amount of water in wash cycle. Dealer sent service men 3 times and changed several parts but washer still did not work and both repairmen said they did not know what was wrong. They called Maytag Tech Support but those people did not listen and said if no code shows up the machine is operating properly. Maytag then sent another company repairman. He worked 2 hours and said he could not find the trouble and Maytag support hung up on him. Maytag then sent another company repairman and he did one test and said the machine is fine and left in about 15 minutes total time. Now Maytag refuses to send another company for another opinion but I have a $1200 machine that still does not work properly. I am totally dissatisfied with Maytag and will stay away from their products totally. Companies wonder why people buy foreign equipment and this is the answer. I had a Samsung washer and never had one bit of trouble with it.

I bought the top of the line Maytag washer. I was told they have improved their washer so that it no longer requires an agitator. I was also told the new machine saves you money by using less water. It has a sensor so that it only puts the water needed to clean your clothes. Instead of filling up with water and having the agitator to stir the clothes around, this new and improved machine puts a small amount of water in the machine and vibrates. The end result? All of the dirt and debris gathers in small pockets and sticks to your clothes. In order to save water the sensor only allows a small amount of water to enter the machine to rinse your clothes. When you consider how many times you have to go back and rinse your clothes before you get the caked on dirt off of your clothes, its costing you more money, more time and more aggravation. Oh yea, the maintenance man was out three times before the machine was a year old. The last visit was to replace that fine Maytag motor that was less than a year old. I have pictures that show my clothes with caked on dirt and debris on them after they have completed their wash cycle. It is HORRIBLE!!!

Maytag Centennial Impeller HE Washing Machine - The seller left this piece of junk for us. I wondered why because it appeared brand new. After the first washing I knew why. I sure regretted leaving my old set behind. This washing machine wont let you add the amount of water you need. I had to add buckets of water and hope it didnt just empty it out because the sensor controls everything. Twice it just emptied it after I closed the lid and it locked. There is an impeller instead of an agitator. It moves slightly but not enough to move the clothes. To top it off the spin cycle tears into the clothing and twists and wrings it so hard everything is wrinkled with soap residue remaining even on delicate. Each load takes over an hour and the clothes arent even clean. It went to the dump after 4 washes. I went on Craigslist and purchased a used Kenmore and am in heaven. No lock, an agitator, 3 water levels, clean clothing, you can open it and add the missing sock, no sensor controlling how you want to do laundry and no more buckets. Dont buy a Maytag. Look at all of the reviews. They arent exaggerating, they are really that bad. Thank you.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, model # MDB7749AWW1, in April 2011 and the control panel just stopped working. Of course, Im outside the one-year warranty, but judging from the other reviews on this site, that doesnt really matter. A $500 dishwasher should last more than 17 months! I agree with the other consumers. The control panel on these dishwashers should be recalled. Obviously, its defective. Instead, Im being told I can either pay $250 for the repair plus a one-year warranty or $130 plus parts to cover a onetime fix. Ridiculous.

Maytag Dryer- Bravos XL - Waiting for my third service call since purchasing my dryer less than 2 months ago. After 2 service calls the repairman found a piece of the mold that should have been removed at the factory causing problems. Now, my dryer made a weird noise, sparks flew and it no longer works. After calling the seller and the manufacturer requesting a replacement, they feel it should be repaired (again).

I think it would be nice to state on the box of dishwasher that customer may need a water connecting fitting and hose for their new dishwasher. Yes, I was asked if I needed anything else and I replied I dont think so! Well when I got home, I did need the water supply sweep 90 degree elbow. Or tell sales people to inform there are parts missing. I had to drive back to Huntsville, AL from Hazel Green. Not life or death, just saying! I do like Maytag products. The dishwasher I replaced was17 years old and we had good service! It’s just starting sounding like a rocket motor. Time to upgrade, I thought. Well my wife really thought so! ;)

Our product was purchased with our Condo. We have had it for 6 months & the first time I called someone was for the oven door being so terribly hot. I was told that was normal. Then I tried the cleaning of it & you would never know anything had been done. It would take a heck of a lot of elbow grease to get the marks off & I dont have the strength or time to be doing that. I had someone come again & he said to do it again, which I did & it still was not clean. I have done it a 3rd time now & still no better. I think this product is a total piece of junk & would not recommend it to anyone. I am a very unhappy customer & will never purchase another MAYTAG product.

In April 2010, I replaced my washing machine (still functioning after 12 yrs) to upgrade to what I believed to be the top of the line Maytag Bravo 5.2 HE washing machine. Module # MVWB850WL0 type: 580-02. This machine of 3.5 yrs leaks underneath and after having the service tech come to look he advised me it will cost over $800 to fix (I paid over $900 for this unit). He says its the bearings and went on to ask me if Id been using the HE laundry soap (as if Im an idiot) and went on to ask whether Id been washing bedding. SERIOUSLY?!? !... After much research on this issue, I discover that there are similar complaints all over North America. Very disappointed and I want this lemon replaced by Maytag.

We spent over $1,200 on a Maytag washer on 12/2015 and it did not work properly. The door got locked, had a couple loads moldy because we could not get it open. Didnt drain either. Maytag had someone come look at it 3 times and it still didnt work. Called Maytag and now they told me that they cant do anything about it because is not under their 1 year guarantee. And of course they are very sorry for my unfortunate inconvenience. I thought they had a good honest reputation but... Im just disappointed!

Three-year-old top load Bravos. Started doing the LD/SD tango about one year ago. Intermittent fault, but becoming more prevalent. Can spend an entire day attempting to finish one load; sometimes must be unplugged overnight to clear faults. Washer receives heavy use from extended family of five adults and two children but has never been overloaded. Machine is horribly flimsy and constructed of the cheapest possible materials. I wish I had removed the back prior to purchase.Just because it is possible to attach a processor to a piece of equipment doesnt mean its necessarily a great idea. Any geek can tell you that the three things most despised by a digital device are heat, humidity, and vibration. A washing machine by definition is an epicenter, a breeding ground, for those specific environmental factors. Well done, Maytag. I bought the Maytag washer and it lasted 5 1/2 months. I am now going on 1 month without the washer because no one wants to take responsibility for it. Your warranty and service is crap. I will never buy another Maytag product and I will be sure and let anyone that I know that is about to purchase one not to!

Washer gets out off balance too easily. If I put in a couple of towels, it will almost invariably stop part way through the wash cycle. I was told you have a great washer! Its the last of the two-belt Maytags! My reaction: so what?

I bought a new washer and dryer from Clarks Appliance on North Monroe St.,Tallahassee, FL. I do not like the washer. It is a top loader and has a lock on the lid. The pause button is supposed to let you open and then is supposed to continue the wash. But it releases all the water and shuts down. I asked to return the washer because I have had it only three weeks. They wont take it back. So now I would like to trade or sell it.

First of all how you wash a load of laundry with a cup full of water? I got this washer and dryer (XL Bravos) as a birthday gift from my husband. This is the worst washer Ive ever had. Add me to the long list of disgruntled buyers of a Maytag Dishwasher. Just like the other 488 people that similarly filed an unsatisfactory rating on this site I too am now on that list. And no surprise - the control panel ceased to function 13 months after I purchased the unit and one month after the manufacturers warranty expired. After brief inspection the problem was obviously a design error leading to premature wear of the electric ribbon in the handle. Phoned Maytag and they advised me it was the first theyd heard of this problem with the model. Only subsequently did I search to discover that the problem was so common it might be characterised as routine. Replace part was 8 weeks and Cdn $153, about 2x the US price. However they wouldnt ship it to me from the US. The repair isnt too difficult: 11 screws and a little patience if youre so inclined. Before installing take a few minutes to trim the plastic where the electronic ribbon strip passes from through the handle without clearance. Save yourself the same repair in another 13 months. Lesson learned - no more Maytag/Whirlpool dishwashers for us.

A washer should last 10 years. Bought it in 2009 - after two years we spent $200+ on seal and bearings. Now, in 2014 we need more seal and bearings and the service tech recommended by Maytag says the cost will be $500+. Machine has a serious design flaw, and bad parts, and bad service.

I purchased my first Maytag (Bravo Washer) appliance in 2013 and thought this washer would last me for a minimum of 10 years. It started making noises occasionally right away but I wasnt too concerned until it started sounding like someone was banging on it with a sledge hammer. I waited 8 days for a repairman who told me the bearings were going out and it would cost $400-500 to repair. This is the worst washing machine ever manufactured. My advice is to buy any other brand. Dont be fooled by the Maytag hype. Their quality is nonexistent. I am shopping for a new washer.

I purchased a Maytag dish washer (not even 2 years old yet). I bought it on 8/29/10 and I paid over $400.00 for it brand new. The model number is MDBH949AWW1 and the serial number is F03422327. I am only asking for the part (motherboard). I have lots of friends and associates at church, work and social that I have talked to about this Maytag. And I would like to give a good report about the company and what they make and that they stand behind their workmanship. I know for a fact that they have 22 motherboards on hand ready to go out and what I have read online is that many people are having the same problem. I need a motherboard. I believe this unit should easily last over 10 years, so I am not asking for much. I will have it installed myself. I just need the part. I trust that you are a reputable company that has been around for many years and Whirlpool has taken new ownership and they have been around for a long time, too! My Maytag dishwasher is not working after 1 years & 60 months. I called Sears, where I got it. Then, Maytag company. It looks like I need to spend $167 for an electronic controller (the push buttons will not turn on) if I do myself (I doubt if I can go it, but I can try). If not, how much will I pay a tech for coming (I was told $59) plus the labor if I let him fix it. So Im looking at a total of approx $400 plus to fix a 1 1/2 yr old Maytag dishwasher. I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer in October of 2011, I had a repair man come to check it since the spin cycle sounds like a jet is revving its engines in the laundry room. He told me that the repair cost is $493.50 to replace the transmission. The machine also has problems with the circuit board. The lid lock goes on and off and on and off so you cannot run the machine. Speaking to Maytag they just kept saying your warranty is over and we dont offer any assistance on the repairs. The machine cost $530.00 in 2011 and they think its reasonable to have repairs more than the cost of a new washer. They said they had no complaints on the model. My repairman advised not to buy Bravo, Cabrio or Calypso models since they all have the same problem with the transmission and electronics. I think they should at least pay for the parts, the transmission is $300. And we didnt even price the electronic part of repair.

Fifteen months after purchase of the top load washer, we have had to call in repair. The lid lock and sensor have went out on the machine and the repair costs are equal to the purchase of the machine. Whether the consumer has an extended warranty or not, this is unreasonable. So hear this Maytag, the CONSUMERS will invest elsewhere when delivered cheap merchandise like this even if it is Made in the USA as you wish to tout in order to bait the consumer for their money instead of providing superior quality American products. This consumer is sending this machine out the door.

This is a continuing aggravation! On July 27, I discovered the dishwasher (MDB7600AWW) tub had developed a crack in the bottom right rear and had warped my countertop and the floor under it was full of water! I called the appliance store where it was purchased and was told to call Maytag. I have a 20-year warranty on the tub with free replacement of the unit if it fails. I called Maytag and was told we needed a service call to verify. I scheduled it for July 30, and 3 minutes and $75 later, yup, tub is cracked. Its a known problem, and the dealer has already replaced some for customers. I called Maytag to get the ball rolling for replacement. I spoke with Jennifer and was told shed get back to me.Meanwhile, we went to several stores, checking out other Maytag models. So, Id have some idea of what was available as a replacement. I called Jennifer on July 31 with a suggested model Id find as a suitable replacement. She said shed check and get back to me. On August 13, I called Jennifer for some answers, got the voicemail, and left a message. On August 14, I went online to chat. Finally, I was told Id have a replacement in 10-12 days. Id be contacted to schedule installation. On August 16, I called a local dealer again. He cant understand the problem. Hed replaced two others in a few days. He made some calls for us and gave us the name and phone for the company replacing the dishwasher as well as the work order. Installation was tentative for August 23. (Hed been cut out completely!)I called Optimus Solutions, and theyre awaiting shipment. Tentative installation was on August 23. On August 22, theres still no word. I called Maytag customer service. Sorry, it was shipped to the wrong address, so it was shipped back! Its now in transit and supposed to be delivered to Optimus Solutions today but not being scheduled for installation until August 31!This has become one nightmare after another with everyone pointing the finger at the next guy. Phone calls get only the same runaround. No, speaking to a supervisor wont help - theyll tell me the same thing. Isnt that convenient! Meanwhile, Im still washing dishes by hand and having psoriasis on my hands, which are like two pieces of raw meat right now. It is beyond aggravation; its bordering on torture! (No, I cant wear gloves. They make my hands sweat and even more sore!) Besides, I shouldnt be washing dishes by hand. I paid for a dishwasher that failed through no fault of my own, and now, Im being punished for purchasing it. I can guarantee that if I had no warranty and had to replace this dishwasher, it would have been replaced immediately!Never again. I purchased all Maytag products for my new home. As they fail, I can guarantee I will not be replacing them with Maytag or Whirlpool, which now owns Maytag. I will be telling everyone who will listen to stay away from Whirlpool and Maytag, because their customer service sucks big time.

This washing machine is TERRIBLE! If I could give it zero stars I would. It broke right after the first year and has been nothing but trouble since. Agitators has been replaced twice. Clothes do not get clean. Do not buy this machine. When I contacted Maytag with my initial complaints they were not helpful. Please save yourself the trouble and buy a different brand machine.

I would not purchase a Maytag in the future. The top oven does not work, and one of the burners is semi functional. Considering I have only have the oven about 5 years. I am not happy with the the product. In the future I would seek other options, Maytag is not on the list of products for consideration.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

My Maytag Bravos washer is 3 years and 7 months old. While not in use the lid lock motor shorted and caused the control board to fail. No lights on the control panel. Without an extended warranty I called a repairman and the above diagnoses was the result. The estimated cost of repair was $600.00 plus, this includes the lid lock switch and the control board. Might as well buy a new washer instead of paying that much. I called Maytag and complained. The first person I talked to offered me a one year warranty plus the repair of my machine for $345.55 which was less than the repair estimate, sounded good. They set me up with an appliance repair in the area and I said ok. Next I checked the appliance repair on the BBB site and didnt like what I saw, so I called Maytag and told them to cancel the appointment and they suggested I try another appliance repair. I was told I had to talk the warranty company to arrange for a new repair facility. I talked to the warranty company and they agreed to change repairers and I choose the one that gave me the diagnoses. While we talked I told them that the repairman I choose was here and gave me the diagnoses that I was complaining about. The warranty company said they could not warrant a washer that had been looked at and diagnosed. They canceled my warranty and said they would refund my money.The only thing left to do is buy a new washer. Not a Maytag this time. For those of you who are in the market for a new washer and dryer (had trouble here also) I would advise you to read the complaints and I believe the majority of them. Not too long ago there were full page ad in our Sunday paper touting the merits of owning a Maytag product. One thing you cant do is advertise quality when it is not in the product.

The washer drum fills up with very little water, very little. I can do an entire load of laundry and the stuff on top doesnt ever get wet. Went on Spring Break in Florida and a month later our clothes still smell like the beach. Grill out, and I smell steaks the next time I put on the shirt. Stain your clothes in any way, its there forever unless you hand wash it first.To get it to work at all, each time I have to start the wash cycle (I leave the soap out just to save it for the next start), let the drum fill with water, pause it, get all the clothes wet, then cancel the cycle. After it drains and the machine is off and full of wet clothes, then start it all over again adding soap this time. On the second try, set at deep cycle, it will add enough water to cover the clothes - Im guessing because it senses more clothes because the clothes are now wet from the first, cancelled cycle. During the wash cycle, Ill open the lid and robustly move everything around, almost hand washing. #Handy. The dryer is fine, Im keeping it. The washer, cant return it - been three months of this frustration (kept believing it was me, reset it multiple times, change the settings, tried everything). Im buying a new one and throwing this junk out. $700 lesson.

As with everyone else here I have had my second control panel go here. In the five years I have owned it the first was covered by an extended warranty that I had purchased when I bought it, the tough part is I was forced to buy another Maytag at a higher price because of a recall for dishwashers catching on fire. I found out about this by accident.

I had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 25 years. I loved them so I replaced them with the Maytag name. They are not the same company as far as pride and product workmanship.From the get go it always had a dirty odor to the tub, as though the clothes had been left in it for days. I was told to just run through a cycle with bleach, but nothing. There is no lint collector and after about 8 years of using this washer, the old lint is in the bottom of my washer after every wash. Now, I have to deal with the thing coming to a screeching stop, not spinning out the water after the wash cycle. Sometimes it’s full of water and other times some water drained, but the clothes are full of water and not spun out.Now tonight, I went downstairs and found water on the floor, it’s leaking. My question is to call and get it repaired or not waste my money and go buy another brand. I may go with the latter.I purchased a fridge and dryer at Home Depot a few years ago. I wanted to stay away from Maytag name. I purchased another name only to find out it is part of Maytag. No wonder I’m having trouble with my fridge, making ghost-like howling sounds so loud it consumes the entire house. So annoying. Stay away from Maytag. They are not the same reliable, take-pride-in-work company.

Purchased a Maytag Electric Range on Jan/9/2016 and delivered Jan 12/2016. To start the Aqua Steam clean is for the birds. Does not clean worth a darn. Model MER8600DH cost $823.33 and I thought this unit was awesome until December 2018. The oven makes loud bangs and it’s not metal contracting or whatever. I stopped using my oven. Tonight my top burner started snapping like an arc or short. Yup that’s it for me. I was thinking of buying a Maytag Gas Range as I was brought up on gas and I have a plumber coming this weekend to plumb for Natural Gas but after reading all the negativity on the gas ranges as well I absolutely will not be buying a Maytag now or ever! I expected more from Maytag. :(

Bought a MDB7601AWW, and then replaced front panel to stainless. Configuration options are great (can’t find better at cost up to $1,200.00)! I haven’t had an issue with any stains on non-stainless tub. Problem is now control panel failing for second time. After 1st time, sealed all connections in silicone to prevent steam from affecting it, as recommended on DIY video. I just replaced the door latch, thinking that may solve it, but hard to troubleshoot without any indicator lights. This second failure (2 yrs later) shows no indication that steam or water caused it. It does start now, stuck on heavy wash, heated dry, sanitize - per top lights. Front lights totally out. Debating whether to buy a new dishwasher ($$$) and give up super config (hard to find fold-down tines and fold-down small shelves on upper and lower racks, clips for small items, and basket that can be changed, placed anywhere) or spend at least $162 for the panel AGAIN and hope I get another 2 years from that while trusting that some other element doesn’t go out. I believe Maytag should, at minimum, make the panel reasonably priced by offering a rebate, since the part is not sold directly through them. Obviously this problem is a design flaw. I am the only one in the house, so the dishwasher is not under heavy use. At least I found how to replace it myself on YouTube, though it requires the door to be completely taken apart and would be easier with an extra set of hands and a younger back. Hard decision since it seems newer, expensive appliances have problems as well. If I buy new, I will not hesitate to get an extended warranty (1st time ever).

It’s the worst washer I have ever encountered! I never have clothes that smell clean. The water seems to never completely spin out, the spin cycle is terrible!!! My whole house shakes when it’s spinning and the noise coming from it is so loud. The time on it is never correct; it will say there is 9 minutes left and then just go to 1 and quit! My clothes have never looked clean with this machine. And yes, I use very good detergents and everything else to try to help with no luck! The dryer just takes forever to dry anything. Needless to say, I will NEVER purchase another Maytag again!

Within 1 month Maytag sent 2 repairmen to repair my microwave. I paid $271.20 for the repair and part. The same 2 parts used the first 2 times were ordered again and I was told that Maytag could not get them again. The service and parts are supposed to be guaranteed for 3 months. Maytag refuses to refund me; offering me 15% off a new purchase. I would not buy from Maytag. They lost a customer.

Like so many other people reviewing Maytag refrigerators with bottom freezers, I am dealing with water on the floor. At 64+, I am not eager to tackle the problem as a DIY project. Once of defrosting and cleaning up was enough. I love the looks of my 2 yr old $2000 4 door fridge/freezer but hate the issues. I guess Maytag is going to ignore all of us. When someone finds a reliable company, sing it from the rooftops.

I bought the larger capacity machines to save time because Im so busy with my family and wanted to cut down on loads. I was surprised to find the capacity can really only operate at half, which is as large as my old, smaller machines. The washer is extremely sensitive, meaning it may take four or five tries (this morning was four) to arrange the clothes - even a small load of delicates - in it in the exact way the machine wants before it will allow the cycle to start. This is exceptionally frustrating, particularly during the busy morning or when you are tired at night. So you have to stand there and wait until the sensing function is happy and you see the water pouring in. Yet often you will return to the machine and it will have an error message that occurs inexplicably during the spin cycle, so the wash cycle will need to be restarted. It cannot just be continued. The machine is not only a huge time waster but a water/detergent waster as well.I learned that the sensing function on the dryer is useless as well after coming back to many loads of damp clothes that sat there, got little funny smelling as a result, and had to be rewashed in the nightmare washer lol. So now I just use the timer function. It takes about two hours to dry a regular load of towels, so be prepared for that. I bought Maytag because it is an American-made product, but I wont make the same mistake next time. If the quality is any reflection of the functionality, it probably wont last very long anyway. Heres to hoping.

I moved into this house and the dishwasher came with it. For an appliance that is over 8 years old it works beautifully. It cleans my dishes well and doesnt leave residue on them. I ran it through a cleaning cycle recently and that has only improved its performance. I recommend dishwashers by Maytag because they last and perform well.
