I tried emailing Maytag but from what I read on consumer reports I doubt Ill get an email back. After our 20 plus year old Kenmore fridge was taken by hurricane Sandy I decided to try Maytag. What junk! We have a bottom freezer and were getting water build up on the bottom under the basket. In order to keep the water from leaking on floor I had to chop the ice out of the bottom every 2 days. My husband got frustrated and took the whole freezer apart only to find all the coils were covered in ice. Soon after that the ice maker stopped working. Tried different things to get it working. We finally took it apart and found the factory did not screw in all the screws on the inside so they fell out on the circuit board and shorted the thing out. Lucky it didnt burn the house down. All I can say is junk! Do not buy!

Have had continual problems with Maytag Bravos. They will replace in under a 5 year warranty. If not for the warranty, I would be out over 700 dollars spent on this very bad machine. Based on my experience Maytag washers are of poor quality. I would stay away.

Maytag MCT Washer & Dryer - I bought the largest capacity to save time. However even my 6ft tall husband has problems reaching the bottom to remove clothes. Even worse is the lack of water to clean clothes, washes so long it wears clothes and they are still dirty. I tried to improve on my old Neptune and Id love to have it back. I may have to junk this washer. The dryer is very slow. Buying this set was tossing my hard earned money in the trash.

I purchased a 2011 Bravos top loader washer machine. Doing a minimal amount of laundry for 2 persons, the Bravos is in disrepair needing bearings and an inner and outer tub. I was told to purchase a prepaid service call for $350 that will cover repairs plus a mere 1 year additional warranty. The washer sounds like a jet plane, gives off fouls odors, has black tar like residue after each wash and clothes never smell clean. Maytag has no complaint process, except an online chat that tells you to buy the prepay. Maytag has dumped a lemon on consumers and arrogantly expects us to pay for their garbage. They are disrespectful, dishonest and greedy and dont deserve anyones hard earned money for their ill made products.

Maytag mod# MBF2258XE81, Ser# K04712605. 3 years old. At 6 months old, the drain plug clogged. Freezing water under pull out drawer of freezer, spilling onto kitchen floor. Fixed under warranty. 9 months later the same thing. I had to pay $190. Now, it has been happening for 6 months, and I use a spatula to lift the sheet of ice out. I have to do this every 10 days, or it leaks onto the floor, tile and rug in my kitchen. This is just wrong. I see I am not the only one. If Maytag does not fix this known problem, I guess I will get a new fridge. I had my last fridge for 21 years, never had problem. Thought I was upgrading.

I can honestly say that my Maytag refrigerator is indeed the worse appliance that I have ever purchased. This is how it rolled... I bought a new Maytag stove, frig, microwave, and dishwasher in June of 2006. Here is what I am now dealing with... the frig went on the fritz 2 years ago (warranty expired). The problem being the freezer would not automatically defrost. Because of this the coils would ice up and this prevented the cold air from moving from the freezer into the frig part. Things remained frozen in the freezer, but everything became warm on the other side, the frig side. I had it repaired about a year and a half ago to the tune of $165. Then about 6 months ago the problem reoccurred, but instead of paying for another repair I figured out that if I used my blow dryer I could defrost the ice from the coils on my own.Unfortunately, the problem reoccurs more frequently now and I have to manually defrost the coils almost every week. This past weekend things finally came to an end as no matter how many times I manually defrosted the coils, it would be fully iced up again with an hour or so. Also, all the time it is acting up it just sucks up electricity, and I have notice a spike upwards on my energy bill. It must be related to the frig. So, I bit the bullet and bought a used frig on craigslist just to hold me over until I have time to do research on what appliance brand is indeed reliable. I should of done this before I bought my Maytag appliances from Home Depot. As far as my other Maytag appliances, here is their current condition. Microwave about the stove: the handle broke off a little less than 2 years after purchase. Stove: now has rust on the front of stove, at the bottom of the stove which is a pull out drawer.Dishwasher: not working at all. The start button doesnt work. Normally, you just push the button and a green light comes on and it begins the first cycle. This is no longer happening and no green light comes on. Refrigerator: Took it to the dumps this morning to be recycled. Cant believe it, all of these appliances are nothing but crap and I will never purchase another Maytag. I have shared my experiences with all my family and friends and have encouraged them to avoid Maytag, as it is not even close to being the product it used to be. Another piece of junk coming from somewhere other than here in the USA. We lose jobs here in the US, and then end up buying the goods from another country that makes inferior products. How stupid can we get!

3 years ago, we purchased all new Maytag appliances for our home. Within one year, we had issues with the top load refrigerator getting warm and the bottom load freezer getting extremely cold. After calling Maytag and getting horrible customer service (long wait on the phone, no supportive/suggestive advice, rude representative), we were given a phone number for a local Maytag repair man who charged $300 just to walk into the house.He was literally in and then out of our house within 10 minutes. His advice was to unplug and defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours. Thankfully, his suggestion worked, but should have been given to us as a troubleshooter by the representative on the phone with Maytag.We have had to unplug and defrost the refrigerator about every 3 weeks since. It has become very annoying and stressful. There is obviously a defect in the refrigerator that should be replaced by Maytag! I will never buy a Maytag product again.

We love our Maytag Dishwasher! It's very durable, doesn't use a lot of water and really gets our dishes exceptionally clean. The best part is that it sterilizes on the final cycle! We've long trusted any Maytag appliance in our families for generations.

We purchased a home one year ago. It has all Maytag appliances that were anywhere from one year old to two years old. The Neptune LE washer is not working as of today. This washer is supposed to be the top of the line, and because it is almost three years old, it is no longer under warranty. This washer will fill with water but does not spin or rinse the clothes. We paid a lot for this home and were so happy to get appliances that were all practically new. Now, we refused to have a repairman come and charge us lots of money to fix a washer that should not be broken. I have had washers run for 15 years and that was when I was washing clothes for 6 people, including cloth diapers for triplets! I will not buy any Maytag appliances. I will be getting an Amana or a Sears brand. Please, no one go buy a Maytag appliance.

I have had this washer (Maytag Bravos) less than a year and it does not clean my familys clothes at all. I have had to throw away clothes that are stained and ruined because this washer does such a poor job of washing. For the cost of this appliance, I thought it would do an excellent job, only to be disappointed. I have owned other Maytag appliances without a problem. This one is a disaster and has turned me against Maytag.

My Maytag dishwasher is very easy to use. Saves on money and time. I enjoy it and it have made my life so much easier. When you cook for two you can be out the kitchen in no time.

Bought machine 03/23/15 exactly 2 yrs ago & machine will not work. It looks like the electric panel and which there are a lot of complaints about the panel, and the lid. It seems as its about the extended warranty now. The quality that Maytag advertises is lies. You buy the product and you have no choice but to purchase a warranty on your machine. Simple is better when it last 20 yrs over 2 yrs on a fancy machine. First electric panel machine washer with a horrible experience. It will cost 98 just to look at, that is not including parts and labor. Its 339.15 for a year warranty which equals over 300 per year for 3 years. Overpriced in all ways. Worse choice ever.

I purchased a new gas range in Nov 2013, but didnt use it until April because I was remodeling a house I had just bought. When I used it to cook Easter dinner, my meal was cold; the oven heats, then shuts off. Maytag has sent service techs 3 times. They have replaced the control board and the DSI module and ordered another part, for which we have been waiting over 3 weeks. Now they tell me it will be here next week. Maytag obviously cannot fix the NEW range, but they refuse to replace it. They deem it to be repairable though they cannot repair it. Customer service claims to be sympathetic, but will do nothing except schedule another service call and offer to extend my service warranty. What good is a service warranty if they cant repair the appliance? If youre smart, youll steer clear of Maytag and Whirlpool appliances. They are total CRAP.

I could not get parts for Maytag Model MHWE200XW00 Type 832A as the Whirlpool does not provide after sales service. I purchased the new washer in 2010 and lasted for just 4 years. I believe they guarantee supply of spare parts (Inner Basket, Outer Tub and Rubber Boot) for 10 years and more.

The freezer will frost up and the shelves will not move. Repairman has been out three times, once to clean the drain. The second time he installed new tracks for 250.00. Two hours later they still wont move. The third time out he said it was repaired, but two hours later they didnt move again. We are very disappointed with Maytag.

Ive had my Maytag (above range model) for about 4 months. The same as everyone else with open/close door error. Faulty door switch. When the interior light doesnt come on, I know I will get the error. You would think Maytag would have already repaired or replaced this door switch part.

I read the reviews before I bought this washer, went to a major department store to buy it. This way I knew that I could get good support if something happened to it. Its been 3 months, I use the washer everyday. There are 4 adults in my building, they use it daily. I have never had a problem yet, the clothes come out cleaner than the front loader I have. It seems Maytag still makes a good product. I am the first to admit, when you make large number of products you will have some with a defect. But this washer the Centennial by Maytag works great.. Plenty of water in the tub, the clothes come out clean.. Maybe those people having problems need to stop buy at big box home centers. Theyre known for lumber not washers.

I bought this washer (Maytag HE) almost a year ago, and if I could redo my choice, I would not choose this machine. There is no separate spin cycle. Often items are left with quite a bit of water in at the end of the wash cycle (often literally dripping as you transfer to the dryer), and you cant just rearrange them in the washer and then spin again. The only option on the washer is to both rinse and spin, which almost never helps get out more water. So you then have a heavy load in the dryer, much longer dryer time, and higher utility bills to get some loads dry, especially bath towels, sheets, jeans, etc. The washer is large capacity, but if you fill it more than 1/2 to 2/3 full (depending on the heaviness of your items) the spin cycle definitely will not get nearly enough water out of the clothes. The lid on the washer is SLOPED!The most ridiculous design I have ever seen for a washer, everything you set on top, even for a moment - laundry detergent, folded clothes, wet clothes - ends up on the floor. And the lack of agitator means at the end of the cycle, some loads that contain a sheet or any large flat item (tablecloth, etc.) the rest of the items are captured below the larger flat item that is over them like a mushroom cap. You cant tell how long the items have been like that in the washer, but its hard to imagine they are getting properly cleaned and rinsed. You absolutely cannot use powder stain removers, especially OxiClean, unless you are using the oxi cycle (much longer than regular cycle) because with any other cycle you will have white cloudy patches on all your clothes and items where the powder dissolved in the water but did not rinse out. You have to manually scrub them out, as putting these items through another wash cycle does not remove all the spots.

Maytag model MBF1958XEQ1 frost build up and ice build up bottom freezer 2011 model. Recently refrigerator not able to stay cold. Contacted Associated Service Corp. because my fridge had a ten year warranty on the compressor only. It cost me $377 dollars to have a service tech change the circuit board and remove a rubber drain valve that was blocking the excess water drain to the evaporator tray. It is working well now but will keep looking for ice build up.

Never buy from Maytag. I and my daughter bought from them two refrigerators of them. After one month my daughter started to fix. I am started after one year or it is leaking. Our freezer destroyed and realize this after one day all my food I throw away. The same was with my daughter refrigerator. My daughter have old refrigerator it is working without problem for 50 year never fixed. Never ever buy from them anything. It is good I was at home. Sometimes I am traveling if it happens this time. Wow! I wished I had reviewed this page before purchasing a Maytag. We bought a new Maytag Range (#MGR5751BDD) from Menards in March 2008. Within a couple of months, we were out of a stove. I was lighting the burner to make dinner for my family (it is a gas range) and all the burners started making a clicking noise and they caught on fire. Luckily, my husband was nearby and took the fire extinguisher to it.We thought for sure that the house was going to be gone. We contacted Maytag and they had a guy come out (wasnt the friendliest and cted like he could care less). He stated there was wiring that was bad but because we took the fire extinguisher to it we probably voided the warranty. What? He would submit a report to Maytag.Maytag reluctantly gave us some money but not near enough to cover the stove that was only a couple of months old. Now, I cant use the new range that is 2.5 years old. It pops and spurts because the regulator needs to be replaced. The bad thing is by the time we pay for a repairman and the new part, it will cost us a lot of money we cant afford. This stinks.

Well, my washer is 2 years old, yes thats right - 2 years old. And it only goes to the wash cycle, washes once and stops, wont complete a full cycle. Yes, the brand with the commercial with the repairman just sitting around because their products are so great you never have to work on them. Yeah right. I am renting to own a Maytag refrigerator and it is leaking water on my floor. Runt my floor already - had to replace the floor once. Sent it back to the place where I got it for them to fix it. Paying insurance by the way that isnt worth a crap either cause they wanting to tell me that I left it open at some point or the lights was off at some point. Anyway to make a long story short they gave me the run around and didnt want to fix it. But how do you fight big companies? This was a rental company by the way rent to own so now I have 4 payments left out of 24 at 180.00 each and they still dont want to fix it. I dont know who to be madder at - the rental company or Maytag from selling this piece of junk. But by me renting to own it if any problems occurred they were suppose to fix it. Youre already paying twice the amount to get one cause of credit issues. But thats no reason to double screw someone or should I say triple cause you getting doubled the rental company alone. They need to recall this refrigerator. It has been a lot of complaint and they want to tell you to go behind the refrigerator unstop a line. Well I didnt buy this refrigerator to have to work on pulling it out from the wall every two days to do this procedure. This is crazy. Any one out there looking to buy a refrigerator my advice to you would be do your research and stay away from rental places whatever you do because you will pay twice the amount and they wont stand behind their promise either to fix it as long as you renting from them! And stay away from Maytag!!!

I will never buy another Maytag appliance. We built our home in 2005 and bought brand new Maytag kitchen appliances (refrigerator, gas oven/stovetop, dishwasher, and hood microwave). In seven years, we have had problem after problem with all four appliances. We had to replace the compressor in the refrigerator in the first 18 months and then the fan in the refrigerator about a year ago. We have had to replace the heating unit in the oven twice and the handle has broken off of the oven door twice. We have had to replace the handle latch on the dishwasher once and today, the microwave stopped working. We are not rough on our appliances (especially the microwave as we rarely use it), so I think the fact that every single Maytag appliance has broken down one to three times in different capacities in the last seven years says it all. We have had a very poor experience with this brand and will definitely never buy another Maytag appliance.

Maytag and Home Depot do not back their products or assist customers. While repair my fathers home in Grand Junction Colorado, Home Depot workman grabbed the 30 year old washer and dryer by the controls and promptly destroyed the machines. No - Home Depot didnt do anything despite complaints. I bought a brand new Maytag Washer and Dryer for the Grand Junction, Colorado home. The famous Maytags that are called dependable only lasted 3 months. When I went to complain at the Grand Junction Home Depot - the manager - Cheryl - called me a lair when I said I left phone messages for her. Cheryl seems to represent the best of Home Depot when she doesnt assist customers - is nasty and calls them liars when they say they left phone messages for her. No - Home Depot would not back their selling Maytag, and worse, they wont assist you in finding how to contact Maytag. Cheryls response was - Contact Maytag. Good bye. I was not given a contact or phone number - nothing. I spent over $32,000 at Home Depot fixing up my fathers home and rentals and this is how Home Depot treats customers. Worse I have a worthless Maytag that ceased working after just 3 months. Yes - you may contact me, yes - you may use my name and yes - I will blog on the internet the nastiness of Home Depot in Grand Junction, and the poor quality and poor customer service with Maytag.

We inherited this Maytag (Model MGR7662WW) when we bought our house this year. I love this unit. It cooks accurately, its easy to clean and its just rock solid in its performance. I never worry that the cook times are going to be off either. The oven racks are solid and the overall look is nice. Our friends and family love the center grill as much as we do. If I need to pull something off the burner I dont worry that Ill scratch the stove top with this feature. The oven heat is also pretty contained. Our old oven radiated lots of heat through the top. This one doesnt and thats a huge plus. The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is that the grills are cracking (not the center one). However, I have no way of knowing if the original buyer damaged them or if its a defect in materials. They still work fine but I will need to replace them at some point. Given the cost of replacing them Ill wait as long as I can.

Purchased Maytag washer 2014, first the porcelain in the tub chipped then 3 years later the control unit assembly and actuator went bad they wanted $464 to fix the machine, more than we paid for it. The dealer tried to sell us insurance for this product at a hefty price, I believe all manufacturers are making their products with a short lifespan and the way for them to make money is by not making a quality product like they used to do that lasted 25 years or more, the only washer out there that is dependable is speed queen made in the USA in Wisconsin.So we the consumers are the losers in buying washers that do not live up to their name, Maytag covers themselves by a warranty of one year period for parts and labor and if you do not buy the extended warranty at a hefty price you are out of luck - so my advice is when buying a washer read all the reviews and make your decision, but the best advice is buy a speed queen online for $600 and save $400 by doing that and get a quality washer that will last 25 years or more.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in April 2012. The electronic control panel failed in October 2013. Repair quote was $250, and there is no guarantee that the new control panel will not suffer the same consequences. My research has revealed that this is a very common problem with the dishwasher experienced by a large amount of owners, all about at the 18-month mark. I contacted the company and was chastised for not purchasing the extended warranty and was basically told, Too bad so sad. Buyer beware, do your research before you purchase this appliance. I will never buy a Maytag appliance, or any brand associated with the Maytag name.

Wow, I bought a Maytag Bravo 300 series washer and dryer three years ago. They have been a complete piece of crap. I spent nearly $2k on the set at Home Depot. During that time, they have been serviced four times and I am now out of warranty and the washer is constantly breaking with LD and F51 errors. The heavy dryer door with light as hell hinges fell off on my wifes foot when she was loading it. I cannot get it back on. It is rigged so it will work. I contacted Maytag and they were not helpful at all. Pretty much sorry about your luck. I will never buy another Maytag product again. I agree with other posters. Too bad you cant chose zero stars!

Bravos 4.3 High Efficiency Washer - The worst washer ever. I recently returned from burying my step-mother. She actually used the same washer and dryer, by Maytag, for over 50 years. Those days are gone forever. This is my second set of Maytags in ten years. The first literally stopped working just after the first year warranty ran out. I still have them inside my pantry, like a set of anchors. Notwithstanding that, I thought, Maytag was a good brand, it must have just been the style of machines, so I purchased these in January. After over six months of usage, I am amazed at how many times I have to wash a single load of clothing to get the items clean. Who cares if the machine saves water? What was wrong with having an agitator? I literally have to remove freshly laundered clothing, turn it over and run the wash again to get the top of the laundry clean. I have had a blanket finish for the fourth time to get it clean, only to have to hang it outside because it is so full of water, the weight keeps it from spinning properly. And why would you remove a timer feature which permits very busy, working people, to wash their items while they are on the way home or in the middle of the night so that there is no waiting to pop the clothes in the dryer? None of the cycles takes less than 80 minutes to complete. Who has 80 minutes to wait on the washer to do its job? I am so upset about the amount of money I spent on all of these machines. Just think, I could have brought the over 50 years old set home from my step-mothers and had a washer and dryer do what they were supposed to do -- clean the clothes.

MHW7100DW Maytag Washer Steam & YMED7100DW Maytag Dryer Steam. Both of them are easy to use. They hold lots of clothing as well as bedding and many different settings. They both do an excellent job. Brand and excellent reputation. Had my last Maytag washer & dryer over 25-years and had no problems with either. Thats why I bought Maytag again. Repairs are very costly when you have to pay technicians. Dont like poor quality construction or enamel chipping when you place items on them. Very easy to clean both of them. Practically no lint dust emitted into the room from the dryer. Had no problems with my previous washer & dryer. Thats why I purchased a full size Maytag washer and dryer again.

French door always has freezer closing problems. Whenever the freezer is not closed tight, the bottom will form ice block, and freezer doesnt close. I have extended warranty but the repair people do not give quick appointment. I sick of this product.

Great when it works properly and doesnt leak! Quietness, cycles. Everything that had to go in went in, well laid out. Stainless steel, clean, good looking. Anything with the Maytag name doesnt last any more than a couple of years. Gone through a washer and dryer with no help from Maytag. The dishwasher was replaced by Maytag because the main circuit board was on backorder for more than 5 months. Washer was replaced with a Samsung. If I had to replace the dishwasher out of pocket I would go to Korea or Europe to do so. Maytag, what a huge fall in quality and reliability!

I bought this electric dryer Bravos (Model# MEDB850YW0) in Nov. 2011. Since I bought it, its giving me the same problem - it doesnt want to turn on. Today is the 6th time that I have been calling the customer service to fix it. Yesterday, it just got fixed; and today, its not working again for the same problem. I asked them if they can give me a new one, since its not even over 1 year. But they said they will not replace it because it cant be fixed. But it is so ridiculous, and its wasting my time. This is so unfair. I paid $800.00 for this machine.

After having had Maytag Highlander washer and dryer for 28 years in our early married life, and continuing to think that Maytag was a quality product, we purchased the Neptune front load washer MAH6700AWW. Let me tell you this IS NOT your mothers washer, nor is this Maytag a quality product. First it was necessary to install water pipe shock arrestors because of the water valve on washer causing shock in the waterline when it closed. The automatic Softener/detergent dispenser didnt work from day one.Coins and etc. constantly kept getting under flippers and couldnt be easily removed. I found that it was impossible to remove the plastic flipper without breaking a plastic mounting tab. On my first call to customer the Maytag Customer Loyalty Team, aka Customer Service (CS), I was told that the plastic flippers were not available as a separate part, and that the entire tub assembly with plastic flippers would need to be replaced. WHAT???????? THATS LUDICROUS. After temporarily securing the broken flipper to the tub, I thought Id call again about a week later to see if the previous answer was correct. On this call, the customer service lady (whose name I have), said the flippers are available and that she would send two at no charge. A few days later two flippers arrived, but were not the correct ones. I then decided to drill two holes in the tub and remounted the broken flipper with two stainless screws as a permanent solution.Two pumps needed to be replaced. One was replaced under warranty and one by myself. The one replaced by me was damaged by a coin that made its way from the tub to the pump. Other washer manufacturers provide a means of trapping such objects before they get to the pump. The wash cycle stopped unexpectedly numerous times without reason, after which the code 5d was displayed. I called Maytag Customer service. The representative didnt know what 5d code meant. Her suggestion was to call a service man. Again, I called later to ask and was told 5d meant excessive suds which wasnt the cause. Might this have been a control problem?There were three incidents of water discharging onto the floor from under the washer over the last two months, which caused water to cover an area of approximately 5 by 12 resulting in extensive cleanup in addition to damage to stored items. Since these occurrences were weeks apart and unpredictable, I knew the problem would be difficult, if not impossible, to diagnose, even by a serviceman. I concluded that it was probably a problem with the control; either filling too long or not emptying the tub before refilling for the next cycle. Thats when I decided to send this troublesome Maytag piece of junk to the landfill.

After owning Maytag Model MHWE450WW01 for nine months, we had to have the bearing and drum replaced. It was down two weeks, and I missed two half days of work. Two weeks after being supposedly fixed, it is down again, belt out this time and I will be missing two half days of work again.After missing two days of work, I still have a piece of junk washing machine.

I have a 26 cu. ft. side by side Model MZD2665HES, like most folks in my neighborhood (spec homes). The icemaker died and service was called. They looked at solenoid, and replaced the ice maker assembly as a wag that it was the problem.. still no ice, but the water was still able to be called. I replaced filter- still water only, no ice. Little did we know it was the filler tube blocked with ice, and the service man didnt once suggest turning off the water service. SO, every time water was called to either make ice or to fill a cup with, it put intense pressure on the point of assembly where the water line comes into the fridge (water inlet tube). A pin hole developed in the little plastic bit (water inlet tube plate) and every time the water was called to ice, guess what happened - it shot right out the back on drywall.Almost $20,000 dollars worth of damage to wood floor (warped), drywall (jello), and flooring (carpet) ensued. Mold was all over and had to be contained and treated for days to be fixed. Im still duking it out with service repairman and insurance companies. My advise: If you have this fridge or anything like it and the ice maker stops working, IMMEDIATELY shut down the water supply, turn the fridge off and check the filler tube in the back for ice blockage. Probably a good idea to pull the fridge forward once in a while and check the back for water also.

I should have returned this machine after my first load of wash; it ruined a couple articles of clothing. Later it ripped a throw rug and just recently ruined a drapery panel. Is there any way I can exchange this machine and rid myself of it? SN: C22534900 Model: MVWC400XW4

I, too, have had major problems with this Maytag refrigerator! We have experienced everything from a malfunctioning ice maker, flashing control panel, overloaded compressor, erratic freezer (freezes much of the fridge contents), and doors not staying closed/inadvertently popping open. We have owned this fridge since 2007 and have repaired the ice maker and the freezing problems on our own dime. When the clicking sound woke the entire house up at 5 am, I finally decided to post! I realize that appliances are not perfect, and that Maytag had the best of intentions when designing and producing this product, but what really infuriates me is that Maytag has known about this widespread inherent problem since late 2006! Why no recall? Why no notice? Why no assistance? When I called the customer service line this morning, the representative acted like shed never even heard of this fridge having problems - yeah, right. All you have to do is Google the model number or just Maytag fridge panel flashing and clicking problem to discover thousands of similar complaints. I do not fault Maytag for manufacturing a less than perfect appliance, but I do hold them accountable for adequately repairing/replacing such a rampant and unsafe (compressor overload) product! Maybe it is time for a class action. Something needs to be done to protect the consumer from a company that is so slow to correct a long-standing and potentially dangerous problem!

I have NEVER written a review however I am compelled to write up and if I can save at least 1 family from making the mistake I did then my review will be worth it so just before Christmas last year I treated myself to a new washer. I looked at so many. Only 2 things on my wish list were 1) American Made and 2) have a large capacity for blankets and bedding. Well, I was so excited about my Maytag Bravos XL Washer but my excitement didnt last long. 4. There is a major design flaw in this machine. I have given it plenty of time and have tried to talk myself to liking it but when you have to wash the white loads at least 3 times to get them clean and still not getting the results expected then its time to admit to yourself that I made a mistake.The large capacity drum is an irrelevant because once the clothes are wet they become too heavy for the drum base to actually agitate the clothes. What ends up actually happening is your wet clothes sit in a pile. The user tends to scale the loads back to help the machine. The above problem is partly due to the fact that the machine NEVER fills up the drum with enough water to submerge the clothes where perhaps they would be able to move freely with the base agitator and the drum rotating. This model was marketed as water conserving however we find ourselves washing loads 2-4 times to achieve the desired outcome. Conserving water at this point is a joke... we end up using more water and energy to get a load of clothes clean.Bleach dispenser does not empty completely during the white cycle even when less than recommended measurements are used. If a load of whites needs to be washed we have to wash with bleach on the 1st go, and then 2 more cycles without bleach. Otherwise anything washed after the whites gets spots of bleach on them. For these and many more reasons this machine should NOT be on the market and especially not for over $800 USD! And I would not want this product to represent US production. It does not deliver on any of its selling points and is overpriced.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher from Ft Knox Exchange in 2011, Model MDB6709AWW1; Serial # F04117463. Like most posts before me, the panel started failing after 2 years. Unit is now inoperative. I am attempting to fix myself using repair techniques Ive found online as I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to repair this piece of junk. Will never buy Maytag again.

Maytag Centennial eco conserve clothes washer - I purchased a Maytag (non-agitating) washer, (model MVWC400XW) just about a year ago and I cant tell you how dissatisfied I am with this product. It does not clean the simplest of soil from garments. I have actually had clothes come out of the washer after a complete wash cycle, with dry clothes. They recommend putting soap in first, at the bottom of the washer and then load clothes; I have had clothes come out stained as a result the clothes sitting on top of the soap. I am requesting that I be able to return (have this washer picked up) from my home and replaced with a washer with an agitator or a compatible washer that actually washes clothes. I believe that this may qualify as a lemon with regards to California lemon laws.

We purchased a Maytag Jet Clean Plus in August of 2013. Within 8 months the control panel stopped working. Though it was replaced by one of their technicians it now after 9 months is broke again. How can this be such a crappy product??? Over 800 dollars for a dishwasher to have to go out twice in less than 2 yrs is just wrong. The company needs to stand behind their products!!! I will never buy Maytag again and will advise anyone looking to not waste their money!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

This will be the third repair of this refrigerator in one year, the same issue of the refrigerator warming up. Water all over the floor due to ice thaw. Also food spoilage. I want another refrigerator at this point. The Maytag repairman is definitely not lonely. He has more business than he can handle with this defective refrigerator. Terrible. Do Not Buy!!

Maytag has always been my favorite lasts forever no problems at all till something perforated the pump but was fixed promptly. I had my maytag till I moved and left it with my son so I do not have it now but I'd buy another maytag as long as it's not one of those water savers. Do not like those because it doesn't use enough water to rinse out the soap properly like the older original machines. Maytag is strong, durable and worth every penny. If I was buying another washer It would definitely be a maytag. They wash clothes thoroughly. Of all household appliances if have to have a maytag washing machine and my favorite vacuum cleaner. Maytag washing machines are by far a ten next everything else I've tried.

After reading several of the reviews, it looks like Maytag doesnt get it - or maybe they do and its a plot to make more money. Our dishwasher model MDB8959FSZ4 was installed in Dec. 2016. Within the year, it started leaking. After many service calls it was determined that the arms holding the upper rack were not installed properly and were pushing against the door and water was coming out. After that was replaced, weve had 2 years of relative good use. Now, it wont empty and that started after smelling something burning. The burning smell has gone away but it wont complete a cycle. Service tells us its the drainage pump and that will cost nearly $500 to replace. We wont be spending another dime on this piece of crap. Well replace it with NOT A MAYTAG. Im wondering if it has to do with the control panel as many others have mentioned. We dont care to find out at this point. We are buying something else.

Thankfully, Home Depot replaced the washer when Maytag wouldnt authorize a replacement after I had it for 3 days. Maytag wanted me to order a part, wait for the part, and then schedule their third party service contractor. It’s been about 2 weeks without a washer. Ive been posting about my experience and received an email from Maytag asking me to post feedback on their site, but it was rejected. Their note to me was “Our publication guidelines do not permit content that references a service policy, customer service interaction, or customer service question.” In other words, theyre not at all interested in customer service. Maytag/Whirlpool is no longer the brand to look for.

Washer Model MVWC555DWO. I dont like this machine. I thought Maytag is a good brand name, but I dont think so anymore. The engineers who designed these new machines with the water level saver dont do laundry. In order to get the cloth covered with water, I have to use the bulky sheet level. I have 2 jeans and a sheet that got holes in them, because the water level was not right. I would have my old machine repaired, if I have know how my new one would do. Im stuck with this machine. I dreaming that this machine breaks down soon and I can buy a new that has a better water level. My old one had water saver level too, but did a great job with the water level.

I bought this washer from Lowes in 2013. It worked okay for a little while but lately it stops mid-cycle. Clothes are soaked and all of the soap hasnt been rinsed out. Poor excuse for a washing machine! Will never buy a Maytag again!

Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes. Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. Im not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

Ive always loved Maytag but this centennial makes grinding noise and doesnt wash clothes well. Even on largest setting the drum never fills all the way up with water. It adds water 8 times during wash cycle only to immediately go to drain after last add. Ive only had for approx 4 years and the 10yr warranty only covers motor and basket so be sure to understand your warranties.

My husband purchased the Bravos XL washing machine less than a year ago at Bensons Maytag in Peoria, Illinois. Within months of purchase we noticed our clothing coming out with stains they didnt have prior to washing. After hundreds of $$s of clothing ruined we realized it was due to the fabric softener dispenser. We cleaned the machine multiple times & ceased using fabric softener. No luck.Today I finally had enough & called Bensons service department. The fellow I spoke with told me, You are not supposed to use fabric softener with the Bravos XL. I asked why a $1000 washing machine would have a dispenser you were supposed to use. He told me it was because people like to use it BUT you werent supposed to use it. I asked, Why would there be a dispenser if you werent supposed to use it. He told me the salesperson should have explained it during the transaction or I should have read the owners manual more thoroughly. I asked how I needed to go about correcting the problem & he told me to clean out the machine with really, really hot water. I explained we had multiple times.He didnt have any other suggestions so I asked about setting up a service call & requested he access my information so we could verify the warranty. He confirmed the unit was under warranty. I asked to schedule service & was told there would be a $50 service call fee. I told him, I would figure that would be under warranty to which he explained it would only be under warranty if it was the machine ruining my clothes. I asked, What other reason would there be for my ruined clothes and he told me if the laundry was being ruined because I used fabric softener it would not be under warranty. So I repeated that saying So you are telling me if the machine is ruining my clothing because I used fabric softener it will not be under warranty? and he got flustered and basically said he didnt exactly say that and they couldnt confirm anything until a tech took a look at the machine. I told him I would have to speak to my husband.So this is my question... why on Earth do we have a company building $1000 washing machines WITH A FABRIC SOFTENER DISPENSER if you are not supposed to use it? I have never, ever, EVER had a washing machine do such a lousy job. I have never, ever, EVER been afraid to put clothing in a washing machine... not even in a cheap, crappy laundromat. Shame on you, Maytag!

Consider all other manufacturers before purchasing a Maytag dishwasher. Our 3 year old model MDB8949SBB1 is junk. The control panel is a joke. Works when it wants to. Do not spend your hard earned money on Maytag.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher MBD7749AWM on 03/15/12 from Home Depot. The control panel went out on 01/24/12 under warranty. The unit was down approximately 2 weeks waiting for parts and a second service call. Just six months later (approximately 08/05/12), the control panel failed again. Thinking that a trusted American, iconic industry leader such as Maytag would stand behind their product, I called for what I thought would be a covered repair. I explained to a supervisor that their panels have not made it 1 year in service. She assured me there were no out of the ordinary problems with the panels for my model dishwasher in one breath, then stated they were out of parts and on backorder for three weeks. Now the truth comes out, further telling me that the unit is out of warranty and nothing can be done short of sending out a repairman, that I would be responsible for parts and service. After further discussion, she reluctantly agreed to send me the part for free if I arrange the installation and told me that it was very simple to install. When the part finally showed up on my doorstep with no paperwork, it was wrong. When I called and complained for waiting 3 weeks for the wrong part because there was no quality control in their parts and shipping department, all they could do was say sorry. They told me just to keep the part they sent and they would send the correct part. I begged that they ship the correct part overnight and they adamantly stated that was not an option. Maytag stipulates their process only allows ground shipping from FedEx per their contract. Knowing I had no other option, I agreed and waited for 5-day ground. The part showed up 13 days later and delivered by USPS. Apparently, I was lied to again and the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Apparently, Maytag/Whirlpool have an inadequate and poorly trained quality control system in place and their manufacturing and electronic divisions are surly lacking a strong management team needed to go in and clean house. Instead, the whole mess they have contributed to continues to haunt Maytag has continued to be made to believe its okay to produce subpar products while continuing the complete demises of a once trusted American, iconic industry leader all while living on the Lorals of twenty years past.Whirlpool would do itself and this country a huge service by just letting this brand die and thrown on the heaps of scrap steel headed for China where maybe they can copy and fix what they were not capable of.

We purchased a Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer in October 2011, and within 5 months, the main bearing failed. The Maytag repair person told us it was an inherent issue and to make sure we use HE detergent (We always have.). Maytag advised parts were not available for 3 weeks, so no washer after 5 months of use. The bearing failed a second time after 11 months. Maytag refused to replace the washer and advised it was repairable condition. Now, we have the bearing fail a third time, and Maytag has advised that they would not repair the washer under the extended warranty program. They offered us 75% refund on the washer (So I guess they expect their products to only last 4 years.), which is simply unacceptable. We are now faced with purchasing a new washer, which will not match the dryer; or we have to purchase a washer and dryer of another brand. Maytag has provided pathetic customer support, and their response or lack thereof shows that they simply just dont care about their brand image or the customer.

I was always impressed with the front loading spin washers commonly found in laundromats. The top loading Maytag Bravos does a great job of cleaning clothes and does not stick another door in your way when loading or unloading it.

I bought my first Maytag French Door fridge about 7 years ago. When it was two it started running water on the floor. I paid a service guy to tell me a tiny little drain in the back clogged up and stopped coil defrost water from draining out. He fixed it. A year later, the fridge stopped cooling but the freezer was cold. I hired another service man who charged me a mint to diagnose that a fan that blows cold air up into the refrigerator failed. Rather than pay him again, I ordered the part. Heres the joke--the part wasnt available. An older part was substituted. Why? The first fan motor was small to make the energy start requirements--but it was too weak to be reliable. The new motor was an earlier model--almost twice as large and powerful. So much for Energy Start. At exactly 5 years and six months, the compressor went out. Im on year two with the new one. I said to myself they cant all be that bad. Now it is leaking on the floor. I have to disassemble the freezer, remove the inner wall, defrost the coils and clean out the drain hole. Wouldnt smart engineers make an easy way to do that from the back? Seems simple.

After 30 months of light use.... two adults in the house, the top of the machine at the ports that allow adding fabric softener and bleach have rusted in a severe way. The machine is rusting away and Maytag customer service will say nothing except, it is out of warranty. I am very sad that I purchased a $719 washer that is falling apart with scant use.... Maytag no longer stands behind the product and I will never buy another one of their appliances again!

Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer - We are usually review writers. I just felt it was our duty to help others save their hard-earned dollars and not purchase this product. We have owned this expensive and highly researched set for a bit over 2 years. We have had to have repairmen out a half dozen times for dryer repairs. The washer was purchased with the largest tub because I wanted to be able to wash a full load of sheets or a blanket. NOT!!! It gets off balanced, twists every single item (as in blue jeans, towels, soft t-shirts, etc...any weight or size) into a huge mess and has actually ruined some of my clothing. The dryer gives me error messages all the time. I am beyond words with my disappointment. We saved a long time for this set and now are absolutely stuck for a long time before we can replace. You know Maytag my message to you is that hard-working people used to trust your company name. I have been married 43 years and we keep our purchases for many years. I have never in all these years been so disappointed in the huge purchase we made thinking it was a lifetime investment. Now I am doing everything I can to save this year so maybe can replace it down the road as soon as we can. I am telling you people reading this... DO NOT BUY THIS SET. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

I purchased an LG (white) washer last year, but my husband upgraded all appliances to stainless, including Maytag washer and dryer. The washer does not fill with enough water to cover the clothes. It barely agitates them to wash. Some clothes even come out with dry spots on them at times! They smell and are still dirty when done. I have tried every setting hoping that was the issue. Normal, power wash, none work any better! Had to resort to the soak function which does not add fabric softener or drain the water completely. Thankfully I didnt sell or get rid of the LG. Putting the LG back in asap. Nevermind the mixed color finishes of white and stainless between the washer and dryer. Clean clothes most important! Piece of garbage and complete rip off!

I have been very disappointed with the 2017 model of Maytag washer and dryer as the washer does not clean the clothes as it should. There is the inner part taken out with no agitator and I believe that is the reason that the clothes comes out not white or cleans as I am use to it being before with my other machines. I think they need to reinstall the agitator to clean the clothing thoroughly. The dryer takes longer to dry the clothing and it uses more hydro which cost a lot more monthly for us to have to pay out. I will never purchase another washer and dryer as this in the future.

I have had to replace the control panel on my Maytag Dishwasher 2 times in the last 4 years I have owned it. I diagnosed the problem using the serviceman repair manual which is located on the kick plate or lower plate for panel of your dishwasher. This is not one of the dishwashers that is listed on the recall list, but it is on the dishwashers list that Maytag suggested that you buy to replace your dishwasher that is on the recall list. Maytag Centennial 3.4 top-loader was purchased at Home Depot. It has never worked yet. On 4/28/12, the third weekend, I sat home for the servicemen to fix this junk machine. The first two times, the machine didn’t work ten minutes after they left and today they went to the wrong address. I have much more important things to do than to sit around and wait for someone to figure out what is wrong with this machine. It would have been cheaper for me to junk this brand new machine and buy a washer from a company that makes washers that work!

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator in 2009. The freezer is on the bottom. In the last 3 months weve had to defrost this frost-free refrigerator. The freezer frosts and the refrigerator went into the danger level for foods. A technician said there is a tube from the freezer to the refrigerator that gets blocked with ice and your food is spoiled in no time. I wish I would have read this website before I purchased a Maytag. Hopefully, this will help someone else. I thought that Maytag was a quality name. That was the good ole days and now Im living in the good ole days defrosting a frost-free refrigerator. Beware!

I have a Maytag refrigerator, Model #MBR 2256KES6, that is only 18 months old. It has totally stopped working. First, there was a large puddle of water on the kitchen floor and then a loud clicking noise in the middle of the night. It does not cool the fridge or the freezer. I cannot believe that a $1300 product is done working at 18 months. I cannot afford a new refrigerator. They should be arrested for selling such junk to the public.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749AWM2 on 02 Jan 2012 with no issues whatsoever until three days ago when it stopped working altogether and after doing a series of tests I discovered that Im joining a large and growing list of owners with the same problem. I never have been a fan of digital controls due to their vulnerability to temperature and humidity conditions or high impacts for that matter. Ive owned many dishwashers of various brands for upwards of 10 years on average each. This is the first one not equipped with analog/mechanical controls. Im hoping I can still find more of that type.

Maytag MBD7749SB - We purchased this dishwasher for close to $800 at Home Depot. After close to 1 year we had to replace control panel. After another 5 months we have to replace control panel again, but product warranty is only 1 year. Now we have to either buy new warranty for ~$250 or replace control panel for same amount. Customer service: terrible. We will not buy product from Maytag again.

We purchased a Model MDB8949SAWO Maytag dishwasher in September 2012. The control panel failed in November 2015. We wrote a letter to Maytag (Whirlpool) expressing our disappointment and received a call from Maytag customer service. The Customer Service representative informed us because we contacted our local repair facility directly, no reimbursements would be provided. During a subsequent follow-up call, I was informed by the Customer Service representative that Maytag manufactures quality products and that no premature failures were occurring with Maytag dishwashers. The Customer Service Representative stated that we should have purchased an extended warranty which lends some support to the fact that Maytag dishwashers are essentially junk. Never again will we purchase any Whirlpool products.

Purchased Maytag front load washer model MHW6630HW from Home Depot. Machine was installed 9/15/19. From inception we had issues that have escalated. Machine leaks and makes strange hissing sounds. Home Depot has no record of the purchase in their website now. We tried to return it within days. We contacted Home Depot executive offices and they keep sending Paradise Appliance repair. The repair people do nothing and keep saying we have to come back again for you to be considered for replacement. Home Depot is dragging their feet and we are concerned about the six month deadline. The Maytag does not do an effective job washing and clothes comes out wrinkled. Concerned about the sporadic leak getting worst and doing damage to floors.

Its unfortunate that Maytag expects their products to be so short lived, they wont produce parts for their appliances after 7 years. They just told me they are only required by law to make parts for their products for 7 years so thats what they do. So unfortunately, if your microwave outlives its handle, youre going to have to replace the entire appliance which will cost me almost $500. I will never buy another Maytag or Whirlpool products because of this.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos 300 quiet series and am totally dissatisfied. I have a bandsaw, router and several saws in my workshop and by far my Maytag washer can drown them all out with the noise it makes. On top of all this it does not complete its cycles before it shuts off and if you try to restart it you never know where in the cycle it is going to start at. This may occur six or seven times before you are able to complete one wash. It may take a day to wash one load of clothes. Maytag should refund the total purchase price of this piece of junk!

Maytag washer, model# mvwp575gw0, which is under warranty. This washer is less than one year old. Within the first couple months the transmission leaked oil and service tech had to replace the transmission. A few months later – another problem, clothes wet after spin cycle - tech told me the agitator base and/or couple parts need replaced. Quality control appears to have been lacking at the factory when this washer was made. This house has only one person presently. The washer was not abused.

Bravo XL - I purchased this dryer in June 2012. In October, the first thermostat was replaced, again in February 2013 and two within a week from March 8th and March 12th. I was told it was my vent. However, the appliance continually showed venting good. I was told to have it cleaned. I did and it is documented that there was great air flow before and after and only a handful of lint collected. I have spoken with Whirlpool and no one will have the integrity or courage to say it may be a faulty unit. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. I had spent nearly $5,000.00 in Whirlpool appliances in June of 2012. I feel they will cover any issues until the warranty is completed, and then the problems are mine and at my expense.

Maytag Bravo washer and dryer delivered 2 days ago.My complaint is with the washer. I didnt know it was HE and that it requires special detergent! I didnt know the lid locks! I didnt know when I push the hot water button, the machine mixes in cold water! Complicated, delicate machine and not user-friendly. I dont expect the washer to last long.

I just want everyone to be aware that Maytag went bankrupt several years ago. They were bought out by another company that still puts the little Maytag sticker on, and all the products are made in Mexico. Apparently all the lawsuits wiped out the company. I did not know this when spent several thousand dollars on one of the best Maytag refrigerators a few years ago. I had nothing but problems with it, and literally had to fight with customer service while it was still under warranty. Needless to say, it only lasted 7 years before the compressor went out, which is roughly $1000 to fix. Kenmore here come...

On April 8, 2017 I was sitting in my Dining room with Dishwasher in the kitchen in cycle cleaning. All of a sudden I heard electrical sizzling and turned to see my Dishwasher was on fire. I got up and opened the door and my Husband shut off the circuit breaker for the Dishwasher. He raced to turn off water under sink and went to disconnect the dishwasher when all of a sudden hot water was shooting all over the place. I tried to catch in a bucket but it was so hot and shooting out hose fast. Kitchen and Dining room were then filled with water. He realized the turnoff under sink was installed at time of house built and cant be fixed without a lot of chopping up under cement.Well finally we cleaned up the mess with mop and towels and relieved neither one of us fell at our age. He unconnected the Dishwasher and secured outside. About 2010 there was a recall on this model Maytag. I reported it and a repair man came to change the cycle panel and said it would be fine, not. Yes almost 7 years later a fire occurred. Just glad we caught it in time without losing our lives or my house. Never, never again will I purchase a Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag washer-dryer combo in late July 2014. It wasnt until early August that we actually used the washer. It worked fine the first day, but the next day it would no longer fill. After following all of the troubleshooting instructions, I called Maytag to schedule a repair. They said they would locate an authorized tech to make the repair. I called back the next day and was informed that there was no repairman in my area and they would contact a service that contacts local repair techs. A few days later I called back to learn that they still could not locate a repair tech. I live near the New Mexico/Arizona border, and asked if a service tech could travel from Tucson, Arizona and was told that they could not cross state lines and, at that point there was nothing else they could do. They claim that I live in a remote area, but I reside near a major US Interstate (I-10). I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and my states Attorney General. It is now late October and all of my efforts have been ignored. I am totally disgusted with Maytags customer service.

We purchased our Maytag washer and dryer 5 years ago... THE ABSOLUTE WORSE PURCHASE... on average 3 repairs a year after the first 6 months!!! Now the dryer is down. It takes minimum 2 trips out from a repair company to fix even minor issues. We are going to Sears today to replace both units. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG! Bought a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot about 2 years ago. Like everyone else we are having leaking problems from the freezer drawers. I wonder if anyone has had it repaired and whether it was repaired

We purchased the HE commercial brand for our family of 7. It has been running mostly fine for about 2 1/2 years. It started making a horrible grinding noise about 3 months ago. It was getting worse and worse. I decided to google the issue and discovered there was a common problem with a nut falling off the bottom. I leaned the washer back and found the nut on the floor, right below the center of the pulley. I reattached it by removing the pulley guard which had been getting cut by the loose and wobbly pulley, put some superglue on the nut and reattached it to the bottom. NO MORE NOISE!! Im willing to bet that this has caused slippage of the pulley, poor performance and many other issues. Maytag should do something about it.

We purchased a Maytag Commercial Technology washer from Lowes. After having the washer for only 3 months, the drum failed, an entire load of clothes was turned black with oil, and my washer was out of service for months. The drum had to be replaced. They did not offer me a replacement. I was just without a washer. They couldnt get the parts because of supply issues created by Covid. I was offered a 2-year additional warranty which should have carried me through 2022. Last week, I called to use the warranty - service was scheduled (and I was told that I did indeed have a warranty by the service team.) I was then told by the repair team that I was out of warranty. Maytags notes show I was only offered a 1 year additional warranty. I talked with Management at Maytag/Whirlpool - they will do nothing for me. Shame on me for not getting that in writing. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for lying to me. The washer has been a nightmare! Dont buy one.

The lonely salesman in the Maytag commercial for their washing machines says it all. The first Maytag washer we owned we used for 20 years and during that time had only a belt break one time which we replaced and used for a few more years. We then moved to a new home in 2006 and decided to purchase a new Maytag.

This washer is awful. We had repair guy out within year one 3 times. Changed the door gasket because it was a known problem. That did not fix problems. We have to drain and clean out hard to reach filter monthly, socks get caught in drain filter constantly. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Hate it.

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher less than a year ago and are very disappointed with the poorly designed quality of this product. We had a Maytag repairman look at our dishwasher and he told us that; the dishwasher cleans with enzymes in the dishwasher not water pressure, and we need to make sure the water in the kitchen faucet need to be hot before starting the dishwasher, we also need detergent, rinse aid, and citric acid added to each load. Adding all these products to the dishwasher does not fix a poorly designed product. This product does not clean the dishes, even with rinse aid the glasses come out cloudy. The dishwasher has a power blast button, it does not clean the dishes any better than the regular setting and it runs for four hours. We will never buy another Maytag product.

We renovated our kitchen in 2008 and installed all Maytag appliances. We had purchased a Maytag dishwasher 3 years prior to the renovation-- that we kept. Well, the dishwasher was the first Maytag appliance to go. After replacing several cheap plastic parts on the dish racks (I resorted to use twist ties at one point to hold the racks together) the racks started to chip and rust, leaving stains on our dishes. The cost to replace the racks was about $150 so we just replaced the dishwasher (with a Bosch - so far, no problems!)Then, a couple of the igniters on our gas cooktop stopped working. Since they were the back burners that we didnt use much, we just used a match to light them and let it go. Next, one of the hinges on the double wall oven door snapped. This is a little concerning because the doors are heavy and will need to be replaced. And the final straw concerns our French door refrigerator. The control panel started flashing wildly and the ice door was opening and closing with a loud clicking sound. Of course this happened on a weekend so I looked online and found hundreds, if not thousands, of similar complaints. So I called Maytag and spent nearly an hour on the phone only to be told that my model number was not one of the recalled ones. I explained that my problem was exactly like the others and was told that the best they could do was offer me 50% off any parts. The service call and shipping would not be covered either. The Maytag representative that I spoke to tried to cheer me up by telling me that at least they had the part I would need in stock, unlike the recalled models. Those parts are discontinued and have to be specially manufactured and have a two month waiting period. The part is about $250 and add to that the shipping and service call and I am sure this is going to cost me several hundred dollars even with the discount on the part. Very, very disappointed. Never again will I buy Maytag, never again!

Seems a little ** one of a small child crawled into the washer and a sibling turned it on. We have been married 35 years and seen a lot of washers and this is by far the worst wash machine Ive ever seen. How would you rather do my wash in an old fashioned mangler? Very unsatisfied customer.

After only 4 years, this washer stopped spinning. Called Maytag support (Ha! the ads show the Maytag repairman sitting by a non-ringing phone) I had to wait 20 mins to get through. Only after paying for a service call would they be able to determine if this problem was motor-related. In reading reviews (which in hindsight I wish I would have done prior to purchasing) this is a common problem and is related to bearings going bad. Pay for service call vs buying a non-Maytag product -- will set this out by the curb and buy a different brand.

My Maytag MDB7609AWW2 dishwasher was purchased on 1/2010. Last month, the control board only worked on the right side of the panel and the dishwasher would not run. I called Maytag to see if this was a typical issue with the washer, which they denied. I ordered and replaced the control panel but this did not help. After reading all these posts, I do not think Maytag is being honest with their customers. Also, it looks like even if I am able to fix this issue, it is likely to repeat. I think I will cut my losses now and buy a different brand of dishwasher. I will never buy a Maytag again.

Maytag Bravos XL he Washing Machine - Having owned several Maytag washers in the past, I thought this would be perfect, instead, it is the worst washing machine I have ever had. This machine does not clean well at all, spots on clothes stay put. I have tried different amounts of HE detergent and clothes are twisted and wrinkled terribly and have remaining soap residue on them, even when I use less soap than recommended. I wish I would have returned this machine immediately after a few loads. It doesnt get better with time. It is very loud, but that is the least of its problems.

The machine will not fill with enough water to wet all the clothes. I have to tape the tub to trick the machine so that the clothes will all get wet. When I had a service look at the machine he said that is how they are designed to be energy efficient. Who does not getting all the clothes wet clean them??? This is not for big loads but ALL loads - even hand wash loads. Every load takes an hour plus. Less water, more time, unclean clothes. I lose all the way around. REALLY wish I had a machine with the old features.

We finished a kitchen tear out and full remodeling. From top to bottom adding the Maytag double oven insert into our cabinets. We checked out reviews and MANY stated that the oven's fans were LOUD! But we've had them now for 4 months and the reviews do NOT give an accurate account in my opinion. My wife loves using the ovens for all sorts of cooking and baking projects and the units are NOT LOUD at all. You'd have thought from what we read about the ovens that we were making a bad purchase but that's not the case. Quiet, even cooking and a GREAT PURCHASE. If your ovens are loud when cooling something must be wrong! Or maybe we got LUCKY!? I don't think that's the case at all but then I haven't used other's ovens only ours and we are pleased!!! 5 STAR for sure.

My 14 month old Refrigerator made a popping noise and quit working. I called Maytag and I had to pay $299.00 for a Service Plan so the repairs would be covered under a warranty and A&E Factory Service came out to do the repair. The repairman told me the Circuit Board and Compressor were melted and he was surprised it didnt cause a fire. The repairman had to get authorization to order the parts for this repair because they were so expensive and he is not even sure if the repair will fix the refrigerator. It is going to take 2 weeks for the parts to come in which means I will be without a refrigerator for a total of 3 weeks and were not sure if this will fix the problem. I am being told by Assurance (the warranty company) that they have to replace the parts 3 times before they will replace the refrigerator. I asked them, Exactly how long do you expect me to go without a refrigerator before I get mine fixed or replaced? When I called customer service and spoke to Brittany she gave me her standard robotic answers. I asked to speak to a manager and she sent me to the never-ending hold zone. I called back and non manager was available but they took my name and number and assured me that someone would call me back. I am still waiting for that call.

Fridge model # MSF25D2EAB00. I have had the fridge 3 years and 2/3 shelves have crumbled to pieces, the compressor has gone, the ice bucket crumbled, the ice maker stopped working, once ice maker was fixed it got stuck on crush, and now I am trying to order another shelf because it has also crumbled like the rest and this is in a household of 1 person! I am just getting the run around... I have been redirected to 3 different numbers now (800-344-1274, 866-368-6478, and 877-468-2371) and now I had a rude customer service rep so I asked if I could speak with someone else and I am now on eternal rot on hold. Pretty sure he didnt even transfer me and Im just sitting on hold on his line while he is laughing. Time to hang up and try again another day. #un**believableI was also told that if I purchased the extended warranty plan that it would cover the crappy shelves in the future so I did and now they are telling me it doesnt cover them and it only gives me a discount on them. MAYTAG YOU OWE ME A NEW FRIDGE... THIS ONE IS A LEMON! We used to own a Neptune Model. After always leaving the door opened and following the recommended monthly cleaning and many extra cleanings with diluted bleach and water, we could not get the smell out. We paid for a new seal, Advice from Washing Machine Repair service even though we paid a lot for an extended warranty. We had to pay for this ourselves. We also had our year to year maintenance. Because we could not fix the issue, nor would MAYTAG, we donated the set to donated it to Salvation Army.We decided to give MAYTAG another chance, so we purchased a brand new FRONT-LOAD WASHER and DRYER in 2014. As I would repeat the same regiment, I would notice little black specks, so I would clean it an extra time with Afresh. I have continued to this date, repeating the same regiment of keeping my washer clean and serviced as we should, I now have the whole tray dispenser spotted with LARGE black goo that smells. So I have continued to clean my Washer.After returning home from the Cleveland Clinic, I was ready to do our laundry from the trip, more black goo and smell coming from my Maytag front-load washer. My sister had stayed with my 86 year old mother and had wash a load of towels while we were gone. She left the door opened also as she was instructed many times, and that is how we found it. So I took the dispenser tray out as usual and bleached it and scrubbed it. As I did this I noticed bigger areas of goo. I looked in the dispenser housing and OMG it was covered with black mold. I am appalled that our $900.00 Washing Machine is like this. This IS BLACK MOLD, There is no way to remove this mold. I have the sides and bottom cleaned with bleach, BUT I cannot get into the multiple crevices.I called Maytag and I was initially told by a Maytag Customer Service Person said that it sounds like BLACK MOLD and MAYTAG COULD DO NOTHING! I asked to speak with a supervisor. At first she seemed a little put off, but as we talked she became more pleasant, I offered to send pictures or a video of the WASHER WITH THE BLACK MOLD and she said no. She told me to pour bleach into each dispensing compartment and the drum. Then run a wash with no clothes on all HOT WATER 2 times, then rinse 2 times and this should get rid of it and to also leave the dispenser drawer open a crack as well as the door after each wash.The Supervisor said ok and thanked her for her help. Then she said good luck and thanks for calling MAYTAG. Ive did and already do everything our Washer manual says to do on cleaning and maintenance of my expensive Maytag Washer and dryer. The manual says nothing about leaving the dispenser drawer open a little so it dries. The bottom of the housing looks great from doing this, along with me scrubbing it until 5:00 am with diluted bleach water. However, in the MANY SEAMS, CREVICES, THE SCHUTE AND POSSIBLY THROUGHOUT THE WASHING MACHINE IS BLACK MOLD that we cannot access without disassembling the machine and voiding our extended warranty.MOLD GROWS RAPIDLY and causes many illness. I already have an ongoing illness since childhood, I take care of my 86 year old mother, my husband just finished cancer treatment in January. We certainly do not need any other health issues. I called my local Appliance repair company and they said that they normally do not handle anything like this, but if my husband couldnt take the outside of the machine off then the top I could pay for a repair person to come out to take it apart then call and have them come back to put it back, pay them again to reassemble our Washer.I believe Whirlpool in its purchase of Maytag has taken a Monkey on its back. Maytag will do nothing, why should they? They already have their money from when we purchased our machines along with money from many other consumers who also have ongoing issues with their WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG Front-Load washing machines. It is undignified and deceitful how they treat their consumers with such disregard when we have filled their pockets by being loyal customers.Word of mouth is good or bad advertisement for any company. Everyone who has unresolved issues of any kind can write a formal complaint to the CEO and President of Whirlpool/Maytag. The address is on the internet. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for taking many consumers hard earned money, when apparently some of Whirlpool/Maytags money is ill gained by developing and manufacturing a consumer product that causes black mold and marketing it to sell to us, the consumer. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG. OWN UP!!! My advertisement begins today!!!

Purchased washer in Nov. 2014. Remodeled house. Moved in on May 2 2015. This washer failed in just 3 washes. Pump froze up. Now it is august 5 2015 washer did it again. Model MVWC200BW. It appears this will be the 3rd pump. There seems to be something here. If it stays together in order to keep this washer I have to buy extended warranty. THESE PUMPS COST 100.00 PLUS INSTALLATION. MAYTAG dont seem to see this as a problem but as a consumer it is very well a problem. I am a electrician by trade and deal with pumps and motors ac/dc. This is a problem.

Maytag gas range model #MGR8670XS 1 - I would not recommend this range. We bought it new and when I used the self clean oven, it did not work. It took four months to get this resolved. I self cleaned again, and I had to clean the oven by hand. It did not clean very well at all. I wish I had my old oven back.

I have a Maytag Bravos washer bought 6 years ago. Recently, it started giving trouble by stopping at spin stage. I contacted a local service company and they immediately told me even without looking at machine, that it is a control board problem and will cost a lot to repair and suggested to buy some other company washer instead of repairing. They told it is the third similar complaint this week. But I contacted Maytag and they suggested their factory authorized technician who could not correctly locate the problem but charged for the visit. Later he also came to the same conclusion. Thus my previous washer from another company lasted for more than 20 years (Still in working condition), this washer required a service with a cost same as its price!!!

I have a Maytag front load washer, and it has been flashing codes since day one, smells like mold, does not spin water out, and at first, all Maytag could say is, Im using too much soap, the wrong soap, loading too full, and I have it on a stand that is sold with the washer that they dont recommend, after I paid $300.00 for it. Now, it is flashing an E3 code, and will not finish a cycle at all. Maytag wants money to fix the problem that thousands of consumers have, after paying over $1,000 for the machine. I will never purchase another Maytag product, for as long as I live.

This model MGR5875QDW range is very difficult to use. When you press broil for instance, the display says set. There is absolutely no indication of how to set. Therefore, no broil. The same thing happens when you try to use the clean function. It is virtually impossible to use the control panel; it is just too difficult. Therefore, most of the functions are not usable.The kicker though is that the handle comes off. During the extended warranty period, a technician came out and fixed it. The toughest part of this job is to get the oven door back on. I tried for 2 hours everything I could think of. Then, I got an idea to use Maytags live chat. They told me that I would have to call for service and pay for a service call to get the door back on. I told them that their clean cycle is too painful to use, so I am assuming I am not the only one who has removed the door to clean the oven. Pay for a service call every time I want to clean my oven or fix their defective handle design because the handle falls off every 2 years? That is not acceptable.

Had side-by-side refrigerator for over 12 months - Went completely dead - Would need $500 work!!!!! Just got less 6 months. Now need filter for water and air filter!!!!!! I wish I can give it less than one star!!!!
