I purchased a Maytag (as Maytag was always rated the Best) and from the start was not happy with the product. I contacted Maytag (Whirlpool, the makers of Maytag) and was told to get stains out, you had to pre-soak and scrub the area... really? Then I might as well just hand wash all of my clothes and hang to dry. I would not need a washer. My clothes do not come clean at all. DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG (or I think any washer Whirlpool makes as they do not back their products).Prior to this, I had a Whirlpool washer with agitator and loved the washer. Clothes were always clean, and I did not have to pre-soak stains for them to come clean. Go Figure! I have never been so disappointed in a washer or company. I am now looking to purchase a new washer as I have had it with this one... and it wont be a product made by Whirlpool.

We purchased a new Maytag side-by-side refrigerator back in 2011 and for the last several months it has been leaking water into the bottom of the freezer unit when it goes through the automatic defrost process. The water freezes and after a few of these cycles causing the ice to accumulate and build up, it starts to leak out onto our kitchen floor. About every 10 days we have to open the freezer door, break up the accumulated ice on the bottom of the freezer and remove the ice chunks by hand. What a pain in the neck! Most of the time we can prevent the water from escaping, but not always. This is going to damage our kitchen floor, not to mention its a safety hazard for slip and falls, and/or fire or shock hazards. We have contacted Maytag directly, but nothing will be done as they say its beyond the 12 month standard warranty. They said one option is for us to purchase an extended warranty plan from them for only $359. Really? Are you kidding me?? They dont seem to care about a potential product liability property damage claim/suit, nor an exposure for a potential bodily injury claim. As Ive tried to explain, this is NOT a warranty situation, its a product defect situation and one probably worth a class action lawsuit based on the number of complaints Im aware of. They know its a product defect problem, but choose to ignore it at the expense of numerous innocent consumers. The only resolution seems to be filing your own lawsuit against them for some kind of remedy to this very aggravating situation that occurs every 10 days or so. Maytag used to be very good appliances, ones that were made of high quality materials, and lasted for years without any problems. Thats why I became a Maytag fan in the first place, but ever since they were purchased by Whirlpool Corporation, its not the same old Maytag we used to know and love. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG APPLIANCES - you will regret it!!

Food freezes in the refrigerator. If I turn it down, the freezer does not freeze. What has happened to the quality of Maytag? This unit is so new. I think I am going to take it back and buy a better brand!

Washer would stop right after it started. I googled the problem and found out it was a bad lock. These Bravo XL units were purchased in 2015. Called an appliance repair and they charged me $250 to replace the lock (service call was $98.00 and labor was $90). The repairman left and I started the washer. There was a loud sound coming from it. I called the repairman back and he said it was the gear case and basket. He said the basket was covered under the warranty but the gear case wasnt. Would be about $750 to fix....no way was I paying the cost of a new washer to fix this less than 4 yr old one. I called Maytag. They couldnt help me. I should have purchased an extended warranty they said. The cost to purchase the extended warranty is now $394.00 per year....please do not purchase a Maytag/Whirlpool appliance unless you like buying extended warranties.

Two years old, single person owned and will not operate - At 2:00 am, April 25th, 2012; I went to take a load of laundry out of the washer. It was still full of water and would not operate. I am a single person. I do not do load after load in two years. In fact, I was doing a weekly load of clothing, nothing large. I paid close to $1,000.00 for this unit. This sucks and why only one year warranty? Are you Maytag? A Youigo car would run better than this. And they are built cheap.

We purchased a Maytag gas range, only to have the paint wash off the front trim of the oven door. The digital panel went out in the second year of use and is apparently expensive to replace. After going through reviews by other owners and discussions with repairmen, it was determined that these panels only last about a year and are defective. This problem is extensive with Maytag. After using my GE Profile to death we replaced it with a Maytag; mostly for the cost. Although I hate to admit this, remember the old saying you get what you paid for - Well its true at least in the case of this Maytag oven. I am a constant cook and own a bakery, I often bake many of my products at home. Since getting this oven I have had nothing but failures. The cakes are over done, underdone, cookies burnt, not cooked enough; my time frame for recipes is so off! I wrote a cook book and have baked for years so I know for a fact its not some miraculous mishap that all of a sudden I cant bake. I have bought Maytag products for years. I have a white Maytag microwave that is about 3 years old. It was given to me at 1 yr. old by my sister-in-law when she decided to splurge and create her dream kitchen and went with stainless. The door handle broke in the first year. We glued it. It just recently completely fell off completely-snapping at both ends. I am calling Maytag and attempting to have it repaired. I am otherwise very pleased with this appliance. I have had other microwaves for many years without this happening. Im hoping they will agree to repair.

I had my Maytag washer and dryer just barely over 30 days. My washer sounded awful and I had to get a new motor. Then my clothes would come out with dry spots. Not enough water. The computer was replaced and within a few months of purchase, all the major parts of my washer were replaced. I hate it! My clothes still come out with dry spots and it is loud. Total cost to repair is $450. Called Maytag to see if they could reduce the repair cost, answer... NO. Maytag spends millions of dollars in advertising... Built Strong to Last Long but they cant spend several hundreds to keep customers. Will never buy a Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid or any other related company product ever. I bought a fridge, model number MBF1958, its a top fridge-bottom freezer. The freezer part leaked and spilled water that then froze onto the bottom of the freezer, which of course froze. I discovered this 1 month after the 1 year warranty ended. Maytag gave me a courtesy repair service guaranteed for 90 days. Of course, 2 weeks after the 90-day period ended, I have the same problem again.

This is my second washer in less than 5 years, going third. No customer satisfaction. Maytag/Whirlpool dont care, Customer Service doesnt care - all I hear when I call is, “too bad”, “so sad”, “call a repairman”, so you can spend another $100.00 plus. I hope this doesnt happen with someone elses brand when we buy it. Shame on such a big company.

We purchased this model from Home Depot in February 2011. In July 2011, I found it full of water and dirty dishes after running a wash cycle. It was completely dead like it wasnt getting any power. I checked the fuses, etc. - nothing was wrong that I could find with the power supply. I called for a service tech that day and they sent someone out to check it. It was the control panel. They shipped me a new control panel and the tech came back to replace it under warranty. It worked great until July 2013. Again, it is full of water and dirty dishes, wont turn on and has no lights on the front panel. I called Maytag to get a service tech. The warranty is expired of course. They offered to sell me a replacement dishwasher at a discount for $409, Model # MDB7749SBW. Or I can buy an additional 1 year of warranty for $269. I also could buy a control board for about $150 online. None of these options is attractive right now, but hopefully if I get the new model, it will not have any issues... I wish they would just tell me it was a crap unit instead of giving me the option to either get a new one or pay for a useless warranty. I am fed up with this dishwasher. 2 control boards in 2 1/2 years is unacceptable and indicative of a defective unit or design. After reading the reviews here it appears to be a defective design.

Maytag mod# MBF2258XE81, Ser# K04712605. 3 years old. At 6 months old, the drain plug clogged. Freezing water under pull out drawer of freezer, spilling onto kitchen floor. Fixed under warranty. 9 months later the same thing. I had to pay $190. Now, it has been happening for 6 months, and I use a spatula to lift the sheet of ice out. I have to do this every 10 days, or it leaks onto the floor, tile and rug in my kitchen. This is just wrong. I see I am not the only one. If Maytag does not fix this known problem, I guess I will get a new fridge. I had my last fridge for 21 years, never had problem. Thought I was upgrading.

Had this model MDB7749SBM1 for almost 3 years and paid over $700 for it. Thought I was purchasing a good machines. The last few months the control panel pops out and away from the front door panel. Do get it back. You have to unscrew the panel from the door. Inside is all plastic and broken. How can it be broken when it is an area never touched. Every time you open the door after a wash it pops out again. To get it repaired will cost too much. It is a badly designed unit which should have a latch instead of just pulling out.I am so disappointed and will think twice before buying Maytag. I have never had luck with any Maytag dishwasher lasting. At this point I dont know whether to just buy another brand or glue it. We are not keeping our home so I dont want to invest money. Our Maytag Bravos Top loader with no agitator is headed to the junk pile after 1.5 years of BAD service. I honestly believe that whoever writes a good review on this machine is NOT an actual owner. Lets start with how it NEVER cleaned our clothes... The washer uses barely enough water to get the clothes wet. Soap remains in the clothes so the family is constantly itchy! If you add 3 additional rinse cycles, its still not nearly enough to get out the detergent and youre left asking yourself, What about the HIGH EFFICIENCY???? Next theres the issue of the water never being hot ENOUGH to kill bacteria (were back to the itchy thing). Its suppose to be an energy saver, but at what expense? Its not QUIET like promised (well maybe for the first few months). But upon opening the lid, you realize it was quiet because not a lot was happening to get the clothes clean. Now lets talk about the horrible smell... I dont know where its coming from... It occurs during the wash cycle and smells almost like a natural gas type odor. This is NOT because the washer wasnt cleaned once per month! Maybe its the bright orange RUST near the bleach dispenser or all along the inside rim of the lid... Remember its ONLY 1 and 1/2 years old. Before I get to the ISSUE that finally did this machine in... I have to mention the machines UNEVEN load response.. Brace yourself, it sounds like 1000 tribal drums... and if you dont readjust the 200 lb water logged load, it will just keep on filling up with water and draining indefinitely (so dont leave the house if youre washing jeans, blankets or sheets!). The FINALE of our machine is what I kind of always suspected it would be... the lid lock!!!! One day it stopped in the middle of a cycle and the door remained locked... After unplugging and retrying, the door unlocked, the buttons all worked, but the machine will not fill up with water or start a cycle. To be honest... I am so GRATEFUL! I get to buy a new machine and although Im pretty pissed that the machine died after just 1.5 years, we can finally have CLEAN clothes again, peaceful laundry days and get rid of the ITCHIES!!!! Bye bye FOREVER Maytag!!!!!!

My Atlantis dryer has never been able to be used on more/less dryer settings, I have had 4 repairmen repair my dryer 3 were while dryer was under warranty to fix the same thing 3 times wiring 4th time, anyway last repairman said my More dry wont work because I never had a sensor installed in my dryer and there is not a place for one so since 2005. Ive used timed dry only or my dryer runs all the time. I am concerned the first 3 repairmen never caught this. I should not have to be responsible for this either. Please have a manager contact me and have them check into my Atlantis Maytag dryer bought in 2005 and all the repair slips sent to Maytag.I used Green Yates in Joplin. Pretty sure. We bought this dishwasher on 7/8/2013 which is my wifes birthday and boy was that a mistake in many ways! I had 5 service calls on my Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749SBM1 before it went out of warranty. It has issues with the ribbon cable and controller and the control lights are like a disco on the keypad. Now it gets so hot I cant touch the door when its running. So I have had to turn off the power and go get a new dishwasher next weekend which WILL NOT be a Maytag!

CHRISTMAS morning Set oven to 325 for ham. Control board caught fire and burnt wires and burnt inside of rear cover. It got hot enough to char the wood wall behind stove. This could have killed my family on CHRISTMAS.

My son gave me a Maytag washer for Christmas 2013. I hate it. Sometimes it takes me 5 tries to get my clothes washed, and then it dont go all the way through the cycle. I have to constantly check on it. I hate it. Can you give me some tips on what may be causing this... Very disappointed.

I called. I was told nobody else ever had that problem. She hung up. I called again. The french door is nice to look at but it does not seal properly and there is CONSTANT build up of BLACK MOLD no matter how much cleaning. It returns. There is no other design for a seal either. There are several creases in the gaskets and there is mold in all of them no matter how deeply cleaned or sprayed. The seal is poorly constructed. DO NOT BUY THEIR FRENCH DOOR... Also their ice maker shoots ice all over the floor.

Not only is the dryer junk, so is Maytag support and service. I have owned this dryer for 2 years; my previous dryers lasted about 20 years each. This one is on its 4th service call, none of which are apparently under warranty (well, except the first one). From what the techs who come out here tell me, the design and build are both poor. I will never own another one of these; if I can stretch it out one more year, then well replace it.For now, the drum wont turn. There is a nylon support bushing (and possibly more) that degrades immediately upon use. There are only two of us, with about 3-4 loads per week. This was supposed to be Commercial Technology. The only thing commercial about it is that you have to rely on commercial laundries to get the drying done. It is good that the drum has a 10 year warranty - it will make a nice planter out by the front gate.

We have a bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator and after 2 years normal use it started leaking water onto the floor every day. After researching this problem I see that it is a widespread issue originating from an engineering mistake. I spent a weekend afternoon taking apart the freezer, clearing the frozen drain line, and putting it all back together. Im assuming this will keep happening every so often since it is a Design Flaw! My dishwasher is less than 2 years old. Dishwasher will go on when we are not in the house. Cant control the panel. The control panel lights all come, have to cancel to stop the machine. This could be a fire hazard.

Both the washer/dryer are of the Bravos models and both perform amazingly well. It seems everything works so well, including the vents which are thorough and vent the machine well. Our laundry is always clean and the settings on both machines work very accurately! We believe our Maytags are simply the best operating machines weve ever owned!

Purchased an over the cooktop microwave 3 years ago, it came with a 20 year warranty. It stopped working and I promptly emailed Maytag customer service. It took them over 3 weeks before they responded. That is not acceptable. Did they think I had a back-up microwave to take its place until they finally got around to reply to me? Well we could not wait, and we just threw that piece of junk out and had it replaced with a competitors unit. We will never buy Maytag again and will inform anyone we know about the poor operation of Maytag products and lousy customer service. My suggestion to anyone considering Maytag products is to not waste your time and money and look to another manufacturer.

I bought my washer in 2016 and now it’s broke again. This is the fourth time! I’ve gone everything to take care of this and it’s a lemon! I will never buy Maytag again. I want to buy USA products but four times for repairs in three years is way too many. I guess it doesn’t matter what name is on it. I just bought this refrigerator a bit more than 2 years ago. I have to change electronic module for $300 CAD including labor. Home Depot advised me to contact directly Maytag and to express my dissatisfaction about this unreliable product.

I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing my dishwasher. I have used it 40 times max. The control board went out. They want 307.00 to fix it. Really? Why would I fix this piece of crap when I can buy a cheap one for that price that would work better. Ridiculous! I paid good money for this dishwasher and the warranty that comes with this is a joke. Save your money and brand from a company that stands behind their product.

This Maytag dishwasher is beautiful inside and outside. I love that the controls are hidden. It cleans dishes very well. It has a large capacity for dishes, a rack for glasses/mugs, a small rack for cooking utensils, and a container for silverware. It is so quiet you hardly know it is working. I would highly recommend it.

We purchased a Maytag Neptune series washer/dryer set approximately 5 years ago. This is the 2nd time in 5 years that we were told by our local repair person that the drum of the dryer got bent out of shape. This is from normal use and due to a bad design on their end. Maytag refuses to foot the bill (about $350-$400) as it is out of warranty.

This is in reference to Maytag washer MVW7232HW0 that broke after 5 months. Maytag sent a technician out who claimed we needed to replace 3 parts. We waited almost a month for the parts to come in just to have the technician say that didnt fix the problem. We have been waiting a 1.5 months for a resolution with nothing in sight. Now we have to either way another TWO months for another part, buy a new washer and get refunded for the old one (but WE would be responsible for the almost $300 price difference it now is), or wait for a new washer to come in stock and Maytag will replace it. However according to them there are no washers in stock for the foreseeable future. This company has been a joke to deal with. I have everything recorded and will take this further.

My refrigerator temperature control panel started flashing lights and the ice maker flap started opening and closing over and over. I checked online and there are numerous model #s doing the same thing, most all contacted Maytag, some were fixed for no charge. Some were not even though they admitted there was a defect in the electronic control panel. I was one of the ones they refused to fix because they said it was an older model but they fixed a 2006 model, a defective part is a defective part no matter the age especially if they know and admit there is a problem with the control panel.I cant understand why they wont take care of their problem, so now I have to spend over $300.00 to fix a problem that they made in manufacturing, that is not an outrageous amount, thank goodness, but I just dont understand why they wont stand behind their product when they can fix out for probably half that cost to take care of their problem. I bought my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set about 3.5 years ago when I moved into my home. There was a 20-year old set here that did work, but I wanted something newer and more efficient, so I donated the old set and bought these. Performance of the washer has always seemed mediocre, clothes dont get as clean as I think they should, whites are dingy, despite using hard-water additives and the correct HE products.A few months ago, the washer started a new behavior: stopping during the initial fill cycle and displaying an F1 error. I soon figured out if I hit cancel then start again, it would resume filling and proceed with the cycle. Over time, I had to repeat it more and more. Its now up to ten F1 errors both at the beginning and end of the cycle. I dont have that kind of time to babysit my washer. I already have a full-time job.I have called Maytag/Whirlpool twice now, both times getting unsatisfactory answers. Even after escalating to the customer service supervisor, I was basically told that it is most likely the control board that is the problem and since Im no longer under warranty (that washer ‘is’ almost 4 years old, maam), Id either have to order the part myself from their supplier (total cost $250 + the risk of DIY), or buy their service package for about $350 which included fixing that problem plus one additional years warranty.I pointed out that for a major household appliance that I (over) paid for, I expect a life of more than 4 years, especially since I had a working 20-year old washer when I moved in here. Since when is this acceptable? I could understand if it were a wear-and-tear part, like a rubber seal or something that moved constantly and would eventually need replaced. But this is the electronics module, something that cant (or at least, shouldnt) be worn down or broken by use or even user error. This is an integral part of the machine, and if it has a fault (which it clearly does), the manufacturer needs to stand behind it and help the consumer.What angered me even further is that the customer service manager even admitted that models similar to mine had had similar problems, and a free control board was sent to those customers. But my model was not in that range of production, so clearly they have no fault, in their eyes. Apparently, its not even remotely possible that maybe when they determined the range of models they believed to be faulty, mine hadnt been in use long enough to display the same behavior? Maybe the range they selected is too restrictive and they missed some. From the volume of complaints Ive seen online, Id bet that to be the case.I asked to be transferred to their legal department, and was refused because we just dont transfer customers to the legal department. Well, I just dont buy Maytag or Whirlpool anymore, and Im going to do my best to make sure nobody else does either. Im replacing this ** with a different brand, one Ill be sure has tremendous reviews and a manufacturer that will stand behind it.

BROKE AFTER 3 YRS. Purchase a new Maytag model: MVWC425BW1 top load washer and dryer after just 3yrs of use. It failed and to find out this is a common problem with these new open drum washers. The bearings go out. Be aware do not purchase them and they also do not wash your clothes good, clothes just stay in same position and you have to wash 2-3 extra washes. It was going to cost 350.00 plus to repair so I purchased Speed Queen that has good reviews. Tech said that top load open barrel washers have been a nightmare.

Maytag fridges, obsolete in less than 3 years. TWICE! My last Maytag fridge dies at about 2.5 years. I called up customer service. It was a compressor not repairable. This was an expensive fridge. Reluctantly we bought another one as the space could only accommodate a Maytag. Again less than 3 years old, the ice maker is shot and the plastic inserts are all falling apart. This time Ill renovate my kitchen for that extra 2 inches to accommodate a different brand.

I purchased a Maytag side-by-side refrigerator in May 2010 to replace a 20-month-old Whirlpool fridge with a dead compressor. The now 14-month-old Maytag has a dead compressor. I have been told by the repairmen that I have come to know that the compressors used in these units are of poor quality and do not last. That must work out well for the appliance industry if consumers must replace a $1,000 + unit every year or two.To Maytags credit, I spoke to customer service and they agreed to cover the parts and labor for the repair even though it is two months past warranty. Maybe I can get another year out of this reliable appliance. I am told that all of the major brand appliances use the same compressor.

I take pride in my cooking and love my kitchen. As you know this is where everyone gathers when you are entertaining. The Aqualift system does not work. I have run the process 3 to 4 times consecutively in row and the inside oven the oven is never clean. I wipe out the sides over and over. So disappointed. The only saving feature is that you can not see into the horrible look of the inside the oven when it is closed. Was this feature really tested before it went to market????

After only 4 years, the door handle of my $1200 range simply fell off. This seems to be a common problem with this range (Maytag Gemini Electric Double Oven), but what is inexplicable is why a part that perhaps is exposed to the most amount of pressure on a daily basis (opening and closing the oven door) would be held on with a plastic fitting! It seems like planned obsolescence to me. Apparently, the part is $100 (once shipping is included) from Maytag and for that I get the pleasure of taking the entire door apart to install it! Garbage.

I unfortunately just had the same issue concerning my unit. The unit went berserk, stopped cooling and ruined all my food. I managed to get it outside after leaking spoiled food all over my floor. I washed it out and contacted Maytag after reading the hundreds of complaints. They sent someone out to fix the panel but he couldnt get it to cool. He said many times when a unit goes down that the acidity from produce along with moisture can eat through the aluminum components causing a freon leak. Obviously, this happened to me. I contacted Maytag and they said they would fix that too but once I called back, they said that it was a separate issue. Then I spoke with another person who said they would send a tech to inspect. I took off work and finally got a courtesy call from tech saying he was told not to come. I was amazed I missed work waiting and got no call from Maytag saying they changed their mind. I called back in and was told flat out I would not be covered, even though the fridge was fine before this happened. I suggest everyone read over the Consumer Protection Act which covers defective equipment causing issues by both injury and property damage. A class action lawsuit needs to be organized concerning this also. In the meantime, I implore each of you to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in your state along with Michigan where Maytag is headquartered. This will guarantee a response from corporate. Also, make copies of this forum and send it to your State Attorney General explaining how you have been sold a defective item. They say ABC news once did a segment on this fridge issue also, so I suggest contacting them asking for a follow-up story. For those that use social media, go onto their Facebook and Twitter page to post a link to this site and the way you have been treated after spending over $2,000 and a fridge that has lasted 7 years or less. Its time for small voices to unite to form one that is much larger.

Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer/dryer - Purchased this set nearly 3 years ago from Lowes. The washing machine smells like toxic sewage. The Affresh brand cleaner no longer works. All of our towels and many of our clothing items have had to be replaced due to the stench. I surmise this is because it does not use enough water. The clothes get wrinkled badly, twisted, stretched out and torn. The dryer does not fully dry. Always had to run it again to get the items dry. Finally, it started making a horrible, loud, screeching and grinding sound. Neither the washer or dryer was quiet for long. Putting these out on my curb today for scrap metal pickup.

First, the machine is a wrinkle monster no matter what I try. I wash my clothes on delicate cycle to keep the colors longer and so my clothes last longer. This has never been a problem with previous washers. I take them out IMMEDIATELY as soon as the door unlocks and shake them out and hang everything to dry. This worked great previously and I never had to iron anything or put anything in the dryer to get wrinkles out. Now, this washer wrinkles my clothing to an unbelievable extent so that they need to be ironed or a round in the dryer to relax them. This is true on Wrinkle Guard and using the delicate setting, set between medium and none on the spin cycle. Wrinkle Guard? I don’t think so. This thing wrinkles my No Iron shirts so they will have to be ironed or steamed.The washer leaves lint like residue most all of the time on dark clothing from day one. I most recently did a load of black only clothes that I did on delicate, soil level between med to extra heavy, spin speed between med and none, and, because of the dirty clothes issue, I had the extra rinse on. The clothes came out dirtier looking than they went in and looked like I washed them with a box of tissues and too much soap. They looked dirtier than before I washed them and had a whitish and lint like residue on everything. So I ran them through the same cycle/extra rinse again but WITHOUT any soap. Unfortunately I didn’t watch to see how much water the machine sensed that these loads needed and I didn’t see how much water was there - but I did for other loads after - see the next problem below. After the second identical cycle, the clothes had the same residue which I photographed and have enclosed below. (And still a wrinkled mess.)We have found that the water sensor can’t sense the proper water level needed and is likely not functional. Sometimes it seems like it might almost be be appropriate and sometimes not at all. Specifically, after I ran the black load through, I decided to try a small red load before my usual large blue load just to see how much water there was. Same settings as above, 6 small items that barely covered the bottom of the drum and the washer sensed a medium load. Certainly by volume of clothing this was not a medium sized load and if it goes by weight, it was the smallest load possible! Medium water level… These clothes seemed to agitate ok because they were completely submerged in water and came out clean. Then I did the much larger blue load that filled the drummer then halfway. This had so many more items than the red load and weighed way more. I tried the same settings as above and this time the machine sensed a SMALL load and the water level was barely halfway up the clothes, if even that much. So half of the clothes were out of the water and we watched and witnessed that the clothes did not agitate properly. This load came out like the black load so I ran the whole cycle again including the double rinse. This time, the same load was sensed to be a MEDIUM load although NOTHING changed except that the clothes were damp and lower in the tub as they were compressed from having gone through the entire wash cycle. They came out mostly clean, after the second wash, again, likely because this time they were almost covered by the water (2/3rds or so) and could move around a little better but still not great agitation.There almost never seems to be quite enough water so that the clothes are not able to move by the agitator and sometimes we watch and can see that the clothes above the waters never get pulled into the water. I understand that this machine may not completely cover the clothes but this seems way short on water and the fact that things usually come out dirty means something is wrong. There is often so little water that the agitator can’t possibly work the clothes into the water. So, next I ran an Oxi cycle and witnessed that about half of the items were not in any water and were only wet because of the filling cycle not because they were moved around by the agitator. How can the oxi do its job if the clothes aren’t in the solution of at least wet from the solution which I didn’t see as likely as the clothes didn’t seem to move through much if at all?Along with the same water sensing problem, why on earth isn’t there a manual water adjustment? If the water sensor doesn’t work, the other option is only the high fill setting. After finding my clothes still dirty when we first got it, I tried the high fill setting to see if this would help but the clothes still came out with that residue. This was the very first few loads I ran and was assuming it was just user error so I studied the manual and tried everything as recommended. Since reading that residue can result from too much water, I use the recommended sensing feature now. So, we can either have too much water or barely any at all…

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer at Lowe’s on sale spending almost $2000. Loved both of them until the washer stopped with a load of laundry in it. No power to unit. Called for service. Could not provide serial number as locked in washer. Service company able to order parts without the serial number but part put on back order. Washer needs a master board. After 1 week of wet laundry stuck in the washer called store manager at Lowe’s. I contacted Maytag Service and had a rude customer service clerk who finally listened to me after I got angry with her. She contacted the appliance repair company and got the back ordered part sent to the appliance repair company. We are now 10 days out. Still do not have the part; just talked to appliance repair company supervisor. The appliance repair company supervisor said he would schedule installation as soon as he had the part. It will probably be 14 days when I get the washer fixed. I am dreading opening the washer to get the load out that I will have to throw away. When I called for service at Lowe’s the representative said, We have had a lot of issues with this. A 2 month old new washer should not have the control board go out. Shame on Maytag.

Weve got a 3 year old dishwasher thats stopped working. First some of the lights on the control panel wouldnt light up, now only one light will light up and it wont start at all. Maytag would be better served to stick with the older mechanical switches and settings if it cant manufacture reliable electronic control panels.

I purchased this on sale at Home Depot, 1 year later this washer top load doesnt clean clothes if the cycle does finish at all. I have to restart the cycle, re-rinse etc, theyre still dirty. I dont have time for that, I have four children and my husband works in construction and comes home with filthy clothes that are just wet and dirty when they come out of this washer. I dont usually write reviews but I hope I can save someone else the hassle. I wish I would have read the reviews beforehand, they all complain of the same thing. This washer altogether is BAD! ITS LOUD, it bangs around if I dont put in the tiniest loads, even then, they come out dirty. Dont waste your time.

The refrigerator works well. No problems. Easy to move to clean behind it. Good value. I havent had any problems since I bought it. Keeps a steady temp; Its exactly the size I needed; has plenty of space. Its a plain fridge with a reasonable price!

I really liked my Maytag Bravo X washer. Until, at less than 2 years old, it started having issues. It all of a sudden starting sticking in the spin mode, then it wouldnt turn off even though the cycle was complete. I have to pull the plug out of the machine it to stop from continuously running. I was charged $104 to have a certified tech come out for 15 minutes and recalibrate it and it worked for another month. It started having that same problem again and now, I have learned I need a new control board, which costs over $200, plus labor, over $60. The Maytag service rep I spoke with was very pleasant when she told me she spoke with her supervisor and told me there was nothing they can. So now I dont like my pretty new machine at all, and have to decide if I should stick almost $300 into getting it fixed again, or buy a new washer, NOT A MAYTAG! As I voiced my complaint on the Maytag website I saw that there were many of the same complaints about the faulty control board and am wondering what does it take to get a recall?

We purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot; a couple months later the dryer started to rattle so we contacted Maytag and they sent a service tech out who stated this was normal as the dryer was settling and parts are not as tight as they are when new. This was a garbage response and he was asked to leave. I contact Maytag again, told them of the problem and the tech response and they offered to send another tech out except I would have to pay for the service call since they already sent someone out. I sent them an audio file of the rattle, no reply. Eventually Home Depot ended up replacing the dryer as Maytag refused to help me despite it being in the warranty period.

I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in Sept. 2010. What a mistake! The dryer is okay but the washer is a nightmare! The repairman and I are on a first name basis. The last time he was here, he showed me how to recalibrate my washing machine. It stops working in the wash cycle, fills with water and then sits there. I have to manually drain it and start over. Then it gets confused and fills with water when it is supposed to be spinning and draining (consequently draining my well). I shouldnt have to recalibrate anything in life, much less, a brand new washing machine.

We bought a new Maytag dishwasher MDB7609 as part of the 2010 recall. Within the first twelve months the black skirt at the bottom of the door collapsed to the floor. It was in small pieces and brittle as though exposed to excess heat. The repairman fixed it free but made the point it was not covered under warranty. Next the heated dry cycle baked the water onto the dishes forming a white crusty layer. We have a water softener that works very well. We stopped using heated dry because it is too hot. Last night before bed, I was standing in the kitchen and I smelled something burning. My wife had mistakenly programmed heated dry into the cycle. Obviously this dishwasher is as much a fire hazard as the one it replaced but no recall has been issued yet.

My husband and I bought a Maytag dishwasher, Stove and Fridge. We were very reluctant because at our prior home we had Maytag appliances and they kept going out. Against our better judgement when we moved into our new home we decided to go with Maytag once again. First the dishwasher front panel stopped working. We had it replaced and it cost over 250.00 with replacement part and labor. Not a week later went by when our Fridge went out, that cost us another 300.00 plus to fix. Keep in mind we had only had these appliances for about 14 months. Less than a year of replacing the dishwasher panel it has gone out again. This is very frustrating and expensive. I dont usually write comments, but felt the public needed to know that Maytag has poorly made appliances. I recommend you spend the extra couple of hundred bucks and buy the better brands and warranties. Thank you.

I bought a Maytag washer November Thanksgiving of 2013. This washer started giving problems three months after; problems such as the cycle stop turn over properly, the light would say wash but its not washing. It would just stop but the light stuck on wash for long periods of time. Press the pause/start/cancel button, it would sometimes start again and stop and let out the water quickly. The clothes would be filled with water and not wash properly. This the funny part, serious funny part. I contacted Maytag on countless time. They had me on hold so long I had to hang up; a hold for hour I am talking about. One day I finally got through. They gave me a number to contact because where I am located there is no tech. I never got anyone but the machine when I called the number after countless times of trying. I decided to called back Brandsmart, because I just think its not right and fair to me to purchase a washer for so much, to had it shipped for more money. It didnt last me NO time at all and I cannot get any help. Well! Brandsmart told had to have paid export shipping, something I never was offered and since I took it out of the country, there is nothing they can do for me. I hunted for my receipt and to this day I I still have it. All was offered was warranty parts and labor for a month, thirty days. I said no because I would not think anything would go wrong in that short period of time. Nevertheless was not offered any export shipping warranty like what they are trying to ** me with. Here is my receipt number **. I grieve presently how I was just robbed of my money so openly when all I wanted was a replacement.

I purchased the Bravos washer and dryer suite. Since I was a small child I had heard my parents and others alike say that Maytag always had superior products as this is the reason when I was fortunate enough to purchase a new set I chose a Maytag brand. We that was the past and the present products et washers /dryers as the worst ever. I have had my set less than 2 years and today had to go out and buy a used one again. I have had nothing but trouble with these 2 and will never buy their brand of anything again. From the amount of poor reviews it appears I am not alone. I tried several times to no avail to have someone from the company contact me as I was put on hold too many times!

MDB7749SAW - 22 months @ an initial price of $599 and control panel lights become increasingly erratic and finally machine fails to respond to reboot (unplugging) after the third time. Repair man over the phone is familiar with the model and estimates parts at $160 + $115 (gave me a discount) + $125 service call for $400 to make the Maytag run again. Bought June 28, 2012. Installed September 2012. Becomes trash July 2014. Wish I could be more helpful... but if I had purchased the service insurance agreement, it would have run about $90/year... that would have been an extra $180 for a total of $712 including sales tax. So, I had a dishwasher for about 95 cents per day. Nobody rents them. I cant give it less than one star or I would. As a new buyer I was not informed.

Christmas sale, needed a washer. Had a great experience with Whirlpool Duet so went for the on Sale Maytag Bravo MCT. No agitator which I thought odd. Bought the warranty. Did no good as soon as I hauled the washer home (3-hr trip one way). It wasnt washing my clothes clean. Hubby said try different cycles and soap and temperatures but at 8 months pregnant it wasnt long when I didnt fight with the machine but focused on a very busy life. Baby number 7 and I didnt care how the clothes washed as long as they didnt stink. Well baby is older, the warranty is not over and after much dialoging, no one will do anything for me. I put muddy pants in, they come out muddy. I put cloth diapers in, they come out smelling like pee. How hard can it be to come up with a machine that just turns clothes round and round with a little soap and water? Apparently really hard as Maytag failed to test this machine. Maybe city folk just have lightly soiled but on the farm with 7 kids, my kids play hard and their clothes are very dirty. They continue to stay dirty unless I wash them twice on Power Wash and Extra Heavy Load. Not impressed. Would like a replacement washer of equal or lesser value, anything that works. Oh P.S. I have the receipts and order number. Sorry its not put online to be verified buyer but dont feel like digging for paperwork at the moment.

I bought this washer on 6-29-14, should have returned it within my 30 days but kept thinking it will get better, NO. I actually like to use water to wash my clothes!! It doesnt even get all the clothes wet when using on the bulky/or any other setting. Very disappointed in Maytag!!! Washer for sale, very cheap even though I paid $500 with warranty.

Im not sure that the guys who designed this unit ever actually tested it. During the wash cycle, if you have something like a fitted sheet it will actually stuff all of the surrounding wash items into the sheet until it forms one huge, round ball. Then it gets really interesting because the vicious spin cycle sends the machine marching around the laundry room and this happens even if the wash has not balled up. I now try to evenly distribute the wash within the tub prior to starting the wash cycle but it doesnt work. So now I grab a cup of coffee and newspaper and sit with my washer throughout the entire spin cycle to make sure that the hoses dont tear out of the wall.

Purchased Maytag Dishwasher MDB8959SFH4 as part of a kitchen renovation with hardwood floors. Realized that the dishwasher was leaking intermittently. Appeared that the door wouldnt latch properly. Called Whirlpool (parent company). Technician came out to assess the situation - couldnt recreate the problem so suggested replacing door seal. I try to explain to him that in my opinion it wasnt the door seal but a failure to latch because the top rack was not retracting completely on an intermittent basis. He also suggesting replacing the latch. Repair was carried out and same issue arose three days later. I systematically removed one dish at a time and then tried closing the door - after removing about the 6th item the door closed. Called the repair company today and they told me he had just received a recall from Whirlpool - apparently an issue with the tracks not allowing the rack to retract properly - what I have been saying all along. I called Whirlpool but they insisted the notice was sent out some time ago. I called Home Depot where I bought the appliance and they confirmed that they were not aware of this issue. I suggested they should not be selling this dishwasher until Whirlpool remedy the manufacturing defect. I will follow up with Whirlpool to let him know I have spoken with Home Depot and they were not aware of the issue.

Maytag 7000 series front loaders bought in 2013 on basis of high ratings from Consumer Reports. Also durable and look good in the process. Had for 3 years. Machines highly rated by Consumer Reports and bought on sale. They were a very good value. Both W & D have steam feature but find Ive rarely used it. Durability is key, as is the ability to balance wide variety of loads, which our machines do well. Capacity of 5 cu ft or better sufficient for a household of 2. Maytag reputation for durability and reliability and made in US, though a clone of Whirlpool. These are big, heavy machines, best for side by side but they can be stacked. The units are quiet, have more features than weve ever used and so far have been reliable, gentle on clothes incl delicates and drum bearings really help with keeping loads balanced. Door hinges built like a tank but the chassis theyre attached to arent up to par. W & D have stainless drums. Washer is resistant to mold & odors but dryer lint system convoluted in design and hard to clean out.

We bought a Maytag dryer and within two years the drum cracked. It will cost over $500 to repair it and then will the new drum be better? I bet not. Piece of junk.

Updated on 10/09/2019: Well I wrote a review on my brand new Maytag washer that we bought at Lowes in June. When I wrote the last review I was waiting for our repair. They did come to repair and I was told by the repair guy (keep in mind the washer was only 2 months old at the time) that there were 3 fail codes. He said that it was overloaded or loaded wrong.That you cant wash towels with sheets, you cant wash any kind of rug no matter the size, which I only wash small bathroom rugs that are NOT oversized or heavy, you cant wash tennis shoes (which I have not). So I asked him what is the point of investing in what is supposed to be a top of the line, heavy duty, extra large tub, commercial washer? He said that you cant do that with any machine. I told him our old washer that we had 13 years had no problem with washing towels & sheets together. My point is that I am 100% disappointed in this washer & I encourage you to NOT buy Maytag, apparently they no longer live up to their brand.Original Review: We did our research & comparing & this machine came up on top. Its size suites our needs & we were excited about all the great features. We purchased it in mid July of 2019 so its 2 months old & for the last month it started to shut off in the middle of a wash cycle. At first we thought that maybe we were doing something wrong. So we would re-start it & it worked. Fast forward 3 weeks, it was doing it almost every time. Now it isnt working at all, it starts to fill up then shuts down before it starts to wash.Today is a Friday & I called Maytag to request a service call under the warranty (60 days old) Maytag had me on hold for 19 minutes before I could even talk to someone! The customer service person (once she was on) was very nice & sympathetic but couldnt get anyone out to service our machine until Tuesday, which is a HUGE inconvenience since we have not been able to wash for the last 3 days. I am highly disappointed in the machine for the simple reason that I paid for a new topnotch machine because my old one that 13 years old finally gave out & now am in the same situation & in for $1000 I paid for this new washer & having to go pay to do laundry 2 MONTHS later! I will add to my review once they have performed the service call to see if the issue is resolved or the machine replaced if they cant fix it.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 2019 in Home Depot for my new home. The dishwasher stopped washing dishes after two years and 6 months. The price of the new machine was 700$ and I did not buy the extended warranty. The trouble is circulation pump, that cost to install the new one from local service would be about 350$ plus the new pump 150$. I consider quality is very poor if the new dishwasher works only two years and then it is better to buy a new item than fix the old one. Never never buy Maytag production.

Purchase of what we thought was high quality Maytag dishwasher. Paid $600 and $250 to get it installed, which was really just to take out the old dishwasher we wish now we had kept, and plug in the new one. After 2 years, repairs needed to replace the control panel and key pad must be replaced, cost $340 plus labor. We will never buy Maytag again. Called their hotline, 800-877-6777. They cannot offer any help. Called the co. we bought it from, a Maytag dealer, Haleys Maytag of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. They too offered nothing except to sell us parts... control panel and key pad. Called lawyer who has class action suit now against Maytag, Eppsteiner & Florica. They are not representing customers who live in Canada, only U.S.My recommendation to Maytag dealer who only sells Maytags, Haleys Maytag of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, find another company to represent. Maytag is a real loser. Never again purchase a Maytag, and I told 10 people who will tell 10 people... who will tell 10 people. Our model number... same as all of yours... the loser MDB6709AWW1. Dont waste your money buying this overpriced dishwasher that will then require you to spend more money every 2 years on a Control panel and Key pad that are defective from the factory.

Hello, I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer model MVWX655DW from the Home Depot in June of 2017. I can provide the receipt. Within 6 months I had a broken lid switch and the unit would not move through the cycles. Luckily, I had the ability to replace the lid switch at the cost of about $100 just for the part. The repair was fairly involved. This summer, the unit failed to agitate, upon much research, I learned the washer drive hub (which makes the washer agitate and spin) was worn out. It was made of plastic and it is quite a job to get the cover plate off and to replace this part which ranges in price from $20-$45. This is a fairly difficult job and I would not recommend it to most people. It should not be needed in a 3 year old machine. Upon inspection of the drive shaft teeth when I took the washer apart, I found the steel teeth to have significant wear. Why? Now, in mid-November, same issue, the plastic drive hub is worn out again! I was told maybe my shock absorbers for the drum needed to be replaced as the drum may be shaking too much. My previous washer was good for 18 years and I replaced it with this highly recommended model Maytag with the chrome basket. This is absolutely the worst appliance I have had and with every repair, I viewed many, many people with the same complaints and feeling that Maytag should issue a recall on these machines. I will be contacting Maytag and Home depot with my review. The HD installer also stripped the plastic valve one of the water hoses goes on that I had also to replace. A $40 dollar part. This took some disassembly but not as bad as replacing the drive hub every three months. Needless to say, I have to buy a new machine after 3 years of unreliability with his machine. A waste of $500 + of my hard earned money. Very, very disappointed. If I wasnt mechanical and able to fix this washer, it would have cost me hundreds in repair bills. I have receipts of the parts I have purchased for this unit. I hope your experience is better if you have owned one of these machines. Maybe I just got a bad one but many people have complained about this model so I dont believe I am alone. I hate to see good people spend their money on poorly constructed machines. I certainly expected more than 3 years out of a brand new appliance. Maytag and Home Depot have lost a good, long time customer unless they want to make it right. Please feel free to contact me.

I have a bearing going out. The Bravo washer makes a terrible noise. Now, they tell me I need a new tub/bearing. This repair will cost me more than $250.00 plus service calls. This is the second repair that I have had on this machine. It is only 4 years old. I use it twice a week. I will not recommend Maytag to anyone and I will never buy another one. They should check the internet for complaints and realize that there is a problem.

The washer 4 years ago we had the control panel replaced at our expense. Now, control panel is going out again. Also this summer I took the dryer apart to snug up some screws that had come lose, that were scraping the inside as the dry ran. I own a range and a dishwasher Maytag brand but will not buy another Maytag unit, even if they are built by my union brothers and sisters.

I loved my first Maytag combo unit and when that quit I bought another Maytag. The Neptune is a front load washer. I immediately noticed the door gasket getting moldy. I contacted Maytag whose response was leave the door open. Well, I did that and not only did I still get mold, but the light burned out. I recently started having trouble - the water doesnt drain and the clothes are still wet. Rather than have it repaired, I elected to buy a new washer/dryer unit. I would NEVER again have a front load washer and certainly not Maytag.

I purchased a washer & dryer from Lowes on December 3rd. On February 20th, my washer stopped filling up. I called customer service and had someone come out a few days later. The repairman said the sensor broke & it would take 10 days for part to come in. After 2 weeks, I tried calling repair company and they would not answer phone for Maytag, or me. Maytag called another service provider, and it will be another week before part comes in. Never could get in touch with anyone who was helpful! Now it’s been a month, and still not fixed!

I have the same problem noted by the other posts. Water leaking on hardwood floor from the bottom of the freezer. Refrig is out of warranty. Also, the deli drawer is also broken. This is a $2000 refrigerator and the quality is terrible. Please contact me for class action suit inclusion.

Purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer in November 2015 after having a old set not Maytag for 25 years with no repairs. WOW. Then the new washer went out in Feb. 2016, now the dryer in May 2016. Very unhappy. Is it because the machines are now made in Mexico? Cheap labor and cheap parts. ICK!!! Thank god for the extended warranty.

I’ve had my dishwasher for over 10 yrs now and I probably need to upgrade but it suits us just fine and I’ve really never had any problem with it at all. My dishes and especially my glasses come out Sparkling.

I have owned two Maytag washers. Top load and front load. They have been the biggest piece of garbage I have ever purchased. My current front loader eats and destroys clothing. I have had to throw out numerous clothes as the machine simply destroys them. I have also had numerous problems with Maytag washers. The wiring is garbage. Couple yrs after purchase the washer shorted out. Im handy so I took it apart. Discovered a broken wire. I had to rewire a new connection with as. The wire used in manufacturing is so thin its line a strand of hair. Now it leaks under the drum. I had to place a container under the drum to collect the water. My other purchase was a top load. The lint was just a nightmare. Maytag sent me some contraption after numerous complaints that was suppose to assist in the collection of lint. Again, a piece of garbage. DONT BUY. Save your MONEY.

Im totally done with the Maytag brand that Ive trusted for over 30 years. I never knew until yesterday via Facebook friends that they are not true Maytag-made anymore. They were bought out by Whirlpool eight years ago. I bought my top-load Maytag Bravo 400 Series Washer ($1,028) at Home Depot in October 2008. No problems with it until now, less than 4 years old with error code DL. So I looked in the book and found it was the lid lock (the little red light wasnt lighting up when closing the lid, which prevents it from running).I made an online appointment with Sears Home Appliance repair to check it out. But after talking with online friends and googling fix videos, I was able to get it running today by taking the top off, unplugging the lid wire and plugging it back in. So far, its working but now I will fear each time I go to use it that something else will fail. My old Maytags (washer and dryer) bought in the 80s never needed service until they approached the 14- to 15-year mark. That only tells me that the newer made appliances are total junk! So many complaints and how the companies dont back their appliances, it just sickens me.

Purchased the Maytag Bravo Nov 2010 and had to replace it after just 5 years. In the five years we owned it, it required a new water pump and the stabilizers had to be repaired. Its motor burned up and I was not able to find a replacement. I was quoted $224 (parts only) for a replacement motor and 10 weeks delivery. My wife never liked the machine as it was not able to clean clothes that well. We did not find much difference in any of the settings. We tended to put very few clothes in each load in order to get them clean. We were dissatisfied that it did not have a soak cycle and the lid lock was particularly annoying.

Ice maker stopped making ice within first month. Repair man came out next day. Said ice maker only makes 7 cubes at a time 8 times a day. REALLY? A $2000 refrigerator only makes 50 ice cubes a day??? Why would I need a refrigerator that size if there was only one of me? Obviously, Ill be keeping a bag of ice nearby.

Mine is the Chrome Maytag four-burner cooktop model. About $700. I installed it with ease. After two years there are only one or two slight scratches. It sees full meals for two cooked daily. The grate is first class and looks new, the top itself is easy to clean with a damp soapy cloth and mineral oil. There is easily enough BTU power for any size of pro pan. The igniters are healthy and fine and a repair would be easy.

It leaves white stuff all over everything. You have to rewash or rinse black clothes at least twice. We have to clean the washer frequently or the clothes smell like mildew. I chose Maytag because I thought they were the best. Apparently, I was wrong and it was a mistake buying this.

We bought our Maytag washer and dryer a bit over 5 years ago. Now the UL warning comes on. Found out it will be over $400 to fix it. It only cost $500 new. Repairman says it is very common and not to pay him to fix it. Our GE went 20 years. Lesson learned, wife is out looking at new GE.

Purchased washer in 2015, worked pretty good for 4 years. In 2019 belt, support rods, and control board replaced. In 2020 clutch, pulleys, and suspension replaced, waiting for service technician to replace transmission later this week. I purchased extended warranty thru Lowes, glad I did as the machine literally jumps in the air during spin cycle. Lowes stated I needed 4 repair visits to place a claim for replacement! Machine will not spin properly on high speed. Luckily I have a spare machine in the garage to use while I waited for repairs to be made. However, nothing seems to be correcting the problem. Very disappointed in the Maytag washer.

I purchased this washing machine from Home Depot in 2012. I am amazed that it lasted this long after reading the reviews on here. It will not drain water, it will not spin. I see many customers bought the same washer and are having multiple issues. When will Maytag recall these machines? Overpriced and unfair to consumers to sell something that is broken or not reliable.

I have read all the complaints. I have similar issues with Maytag Bravos. I’m frustrated that modern tech products stink to high heaven, especially when we refer to clean clothes not being cleaned well. The specific issues I keep getting are the following: the LF codes appear and the cold water does not fill so that it wont rinse or drain. I have replaced the defective washers and that helped for one load. I refuse to fix it. Why throw good money out for the same bad product? I’m looking for a no bells and whistles washer or dryer that works. I have issues with the dryer, too. No more Maytag products in the future. Question: Who truly makes a good reliable product nowadays?

We bought our washer/dryer from Home Depot and felt Maytag was a good bet. Guess again. Washer is running fine for now but after light use (about 3 loads per week) dryer failed. With no warning, I heard a loud pop about 3 min into a cycle and overheating. If I hadnt been home might have caught on fire. Good for us we live close to a coin laundry so in no rush to replace but can bet when I do it wont be Maytag and thats too bad. One of the few makers still building in the USA but thinking Samsung is looking good. This is the Maytag 2000 series btw.

We bought a Maytag washer and dryer in April 2012. A few weeks ago the washer while it was spinning out, it sounded like it was metal on metal. Sears came out and said the transmission and the tub had to be replaced and the tub was created to the transmission. My husband and the only ones living in home and I sort my clothes, so I dont have big loads. I contacted Maytag, their answer was its out of warranty so we are not going to do anything for you. Anyone who buys a Maytag Washer, watch out what youre getting.

I hate this machine: Maytag bravo xl washer. Clothes come out extremely wrinkled, drum so deep can barely reach bottom on my tip toes & Im 57 & clothes dont come out clean. I cant wait to replace it!!! Why are clothes so wrinkled, I want to hang dry things & everything has to be ironed.

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDB7749SAW1) in January of 2013, installed in February. A little over a year later the control panel went out. I called Maytag and they were kind enough to pay for the part and I had to pay for the service. Now it is July of 2015 and the control panel is going out again. I called Maytag directly and talked with a service representative and the best they could do for me was for $269.95 they would have it fixed and I would have a one year warranty as well. Based on the pattern the warranty is not going to help as it goes out just after a year. For only having it 2 1/2 years it is becoming a very expensive dishwasher. There should be a recall on this control panel. Very disappointed.

Im told even though my fridge is leaking water and making sizzling sound nothing can be done and my model number and serial number match the recall for this product and I was told that if my fridge catches fire then, Call us but to me thats ridiculous.

Maytag model mfd2561hes French door stainless steel purchased in June 2005 has been the worst appliance purchase ever. After 1 year warranty expired, icemaker and water dispenser stopped working. Was told by repairman to thaw the tube for water dispensing with a hair dryer. Are you kidding me? Why should I have to pull a huge refrigerator out from wall and put the hair dryer to it to thaw out the water line when I need water? What is the convenience to that? Cant buy fresh vegetables as it will freeze before I can use it. This is the worst appliance ever. Dont buy Maytag products. Maytag doesnt back products like the old days when they would last 20 + years. Cant last even a year anymore. Sad!

A lot of repairs in 6 years from belts. It leaks water around seal on door. Only part of the cycles work. I would not recommend the Maytag washer to anyone. When I got it I expected or hoped it would last 10 years or more.

The welds breaking on the drum causing possible fire hazard by filling case up with dryer lint fibers, around the electrical components, and air intake heater and also allowing metal fragments to get imbedded in the familys clothes. I wish I had found this website before I bought my new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot on March 7, 2018. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag washer that I should have kept. I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

My Maytag 2000 has ripped our clothes. This is my 1st front loading set. I looked on the internet and it seems that this is a known problem. Very upset that a brand that I had for 30 years and recommended to others as well has turned into a terrible company. Im a single mom and Im not in a position to replace a washer every year. I trusted Maytag! A recall and either replacement of the parts, or delivery of new part to fix the problem should have been put in place. I wrote to Maytag to see if they will do something to fix this problem.I have the set, washer shakes a lot, but works well. Washer also always has a lot of water left on the door seals folds, terrible design... I will post on other sites to warn other customers. This is not OK, my clothes are destroyed. See pictures. Clothes got trapped in a gap that exists in the perimeter of the opening, where it meets the door. Why is there a gap at all???

We bought a new top of the line Maytag MGD7000XW dryer about 2 years ago. It worked great for about 6 months, thing started acting funny. All of the front console lights stay on all of the time and it ONLY dries on high heat now. This all happened after the warranty period. So fine, I was going to buy a new complete front console (CONSOLE Part Number: W10388467 $300.) as the online repairman suggested. Guess what, Maytag no longer offers the part to fix my dryer. So now I have a 2 year old top of the line P.O.S. MAYTAG dryer that cant be fixed. I will never buy from this company again (Maytag).

We purchased a Maytag convection oven less than a year ago! Today is the 3rd time the heat sensor has gone on it! I want a new stove! I am beyond disappointed with the business and the product! Have always bought Maytag! Rethinking it now!!!

I purchased a Maytag Centennial - HE Energy Star Washer from the local Home Depot on Guam.... Probably the worst clothes washer I ever purchased. I typically buy a Whirlpool brand for many of my appliances of which I have always been satisfied with the products. I understand that Whirlpool is now the new principal owners of Maytag. I bought the Maytag for my new second home which I have moved into as my primary residence. Great ads on TV that promote the Maytag product line but the product fails miserably in performance. From the day I purchased the washer, my wife, kids, and I visibly noticed the laundry doesnt get as clean as my previous washers, it takes longer to wash a load of laundry no matter what is the preferred setting, the irritating hum is deafening in my laundry room, now the washer has malfunctioned and doesnt cycle through properly, leaving the clothes either unwashed or wet... I do not know who is your servicing agent or center on Guam and I am debating to repair it or just dispose of it. I can tell you now... MAYTAG... NEVER AGAIN. Now I know why the Maytag Repairman is so lonely.... I wouldnt bother to repair it. I hope these issues do not filter down to your Whirlpool products. That Samsung is looking pretty attractive right now. I bought one of their dishwashers that is doing a pretty good job right now.... Guess what? There was a Maytag next to it that I didnt even look at.

I have always bought Maytag products, but I will never buy another one again. This washer is the worse. It never has gotten the clothes clean and it is so loud. It has gotten worse. I called someone out to look at it and now am being told that the bearing is going out. We havent had the washer for two years. The cost to repair is going to cost us $574.00. That is crazy. We are going to let it go out and buy another washer, but NOT a Maytag. I will do my research before buying a new washer.
