I will never recommend these products to anyone! My dryer has caught on fire 4 times! Cleaned lint every time we use it! It gets caught in bottom of dryer! Just lucky enough it has not caught our house on fire it is contained in the bottom of dyer itself! Washer gets UL code all the time! Will not rinse! Have to open top and try to balance clothes out! Cant even wash a comforter alone and the same thing happens! They are junk!!! Would not recommend at all to anyone!

I purchased a Maytag top load HE Bravo 700 3 yrs ago. I only wash 3 loads of laundry a week and the bearings went bad in the washer! Maytag/Whirlpool will do nothing to help me because they say I should have purchased the extended warranty. Well there is NO WAY that I could have worn out those bearings; it was a manufacturing defect that caused them to fail and hundreds of people online all say they have the same issue. The repair cost is $400 and would only have a 90-day warranty so I might as well purchase a new washer. Home Depot (where I purchased the washer) has been very helpful and is offering me help on the purchase of a new washer, but even they could not get Maytag to do the right thing and repair my Bravo. I am going back to a none HE machine with an agitator. This has been a horrible experience and Maytag has no business putting commercials on TV that say they are dependable.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos Top Load washer 3 years ago from Home Depot. I have to admit this is the worst washer ever. The clothes does not appear to get clean enough for the amount of time it takes for the clothes to wash. The white clothes look dingy after a wash that I have gotten to the point of pouring an additional amount of bleach in the wash tub. The amount of water that is in the tub is next to nothing, I have to either add additional water or place no more than 20 pieces of clothing in the wash. This is sad and I regret that I wasted my money on this product and I do not recommend it. As soon as I get some extra money to throw away, this washer is going out with the bulk trash.

I purchased the washer and dryer approx 6 or 7 years ago. Out of the gate about a year the pump had to be replaced on the washer- 2010. 1/2012 the tub needed to be replaced, 6/2012 the PUMP needed to be replaced again! Then 2013 the dryer need a new board at the tune of $391.00. And today, yes - yet once again I need a new pump! Over $2,000 in repairs on these awful machines. I called Maytag because I thought maybe they would care - not so much. The rep told me that the Bravos models were discontinued (shocker) but that she could give me a discount on a new comparable version at ONLY $600. How nice! I will use these until they fail again - which according to history - that wont take long and then I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase a Maytag product again. We work hard for our money and continually giving it to a company (for parts) for a product that they failed to make a quality product is not going to happen again! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. Do your research and give your money to companies that care. MAYTAG should be held accountable and a class action suit should be filed. They need to GET IT and they never will if we sit back and let them take advantage of consumers.

It doesnt agitate enough to move clothes around. Doesnt put enough water in tub, even on deep fill just barely gets to the top of clothes. Washed a shirt 3 times by myself to get dried mud off of it. 3 time it was washed bumy its self. Clothes do not to get as clean as they did in the old style washers that had good agitation and the agitator that was bigger than whats in these new ones. And water. Need water. We arent trying to dry clean. And even thats done with a liquid that totally covers clothes and moves around better than this garbage I have right now... Looking for an old washer to replace this one... HATE HATE HATE THIS WASHER.

I purchased a Bravo 300 MVWB400VQ in 2009. I knew in 6 months that I had made a huge mistake. The clothes began coming out soaking wet - the dark clothes have lint, pet hair, and rings on them. The large capacity drum is just that... a big drum. If I wash bedding in it, it becomes off balance and sounds like its fallen over. I have used only HE detergents, and I wash the washer (yes, wash the washer, does that tell you anything?) before the light comes on. Now the machine sounds like its full of loose parts or rocks in it when it begins to fill up. Its even worse when the water starts to pump out. Now that Ive read all the other complaints, I realize that Im doomed. All of these trusting people have been cheated out of nearly a thousand dollars for a piece of junk. What good is Consumer Affairs if there is nothing done when there are so many complaints? I will join any lawsuit against Maytag if ever there is one. This is another lemon that promised everything and delivered nothing.

First I do like the fact that it spins at such a high speed that the water is mostly gone, and that is the good news. I do like that it uses less water but when washing any dark colored clothes there are dirt or scum like marks where the clothes may have been folded or twisted in knots which I also do not like. I have cleaned machine but this started when new. Drying doesnt get rid of those scum marks either. I never had this problem with my old full fill machine. I have used more detergent and less HE of course in both liquid and powder. Any suggestions?

My microwave started acting up, after about 5 months. It would not cook a complete cycle, without an error saying that the door is open, and needs to be closed. The repairman has been out 5 times already, and the problem is still not corrected. Maytag/Whirlpool has said they will not replace item, then they decided they would possibly replace at a pro-rated amount. So, I have to purchase a microwave twice, to have one that works? Somehow, I feel Im being taken for a ride in this deal.

After my divorce, I bought a new house for my youngest son and me. It came without a fridge, so I used some of my settlement money to buy one I had been dying to get - stainless, French door, with bottom drawer freezer! It worked fine for the first 9 months or so. Then, water started pouring through the ceiling of my downstairs master bedroom. Turns out it was coming from the freezer water line. Ceiling tiles ruined, carpet stained. Then it started making this god awful noise. It starts, rumbles for a while (long enough to wake everyone up or give the dog a coronary), then is quiet for a while. Next, I open the freezer to find a sheet of ice across the bottom of the drawer. I assumed I had done something, so I got rid of it and thought nothing else of it. Last night, I get ready to make dinner and there is this blizzard of frost all over the freezer. It looks like a winter wonderland. I am afraid to see what is there when I go home and even more fearful to attempt to use my warranty.

I purchased this five-burner gas stove two years ago. I have this stove repaired three times. The first and second problem with the stove is when I turned on the oven, it would never click on. This was a month after I purchased the stove. They sent someone over to correct the problem and that did not work. The third time someone came. He changed something in the oven and it started to work. After that, I continue to have trouble with the oven. When I have the top eyes on, the oven will not work. When I only turn on the oven, it will go to 350 only. It will cook for an half hour and then cut off. I smell gas in my house and my food is smelling like gas. I have stop using the oven. I did not purchase a stove to not use the oven. This is totally ridiculous!!! I am tired of this situation. Maytag needs to recall these ovens, so I can purchase an oven that works. I have thrown food away because it smells like gas - because the oven will cut off in the middle of cooking. I am very tired of this situation and when you call Maytag, their customer service is terrible. I will never buy Maytags products again. Please help.

We purchased the MMV4205DS over the range microwave in June of 2015 & installed it in July the same year. We purchased the matching range & a dishwasher at the same time as they were running a promo of $150 rebate if all 3 were purchased. They denied us of $50 of the rebate & stated that all of the paperwork was not submitted on time. We received rebates on 2 of the appliances & paperwork for all. 3 were in the same mailing. Hmmm. We were told a 3rd party handles their rebate program. So much for taking ownership. Yesterday the door open message appeared on the control panel of the microwave & now there is nothing; no light, no fan--completely dead. So much for buying American. Maytag bravo - thought it would be a good brand/buy/new technology. Absolutely nothing to like. Complete junk. Bought it in June 2013. Doesnt get things clean and takes a long time to not do that. We thought a good reputation from a major brand would mean a durable efficient washer with a reasonable capacity and good features. Unfortunately we didnt know when we bought it what a bad design/investment it was. It has destroyed numerous garments with fraying and doesnt rinse soap or dirt out because it doesnt use any water. The bravo from Maytag is supposed to be low water efficient. Unfortunately, it doesnt use enough water to wash clothes, no matter how little or how much HE soap you use. It frays clothes, leaves soap residue, wont wash jackets or blankets or bulky things, takes forever to NOT get things clean, doesnt get heavy stains or mud out, the list goes on and on.... oh, and its expensive, and breaks down a lot. I cannot believe that there has not been a government recall where the people who were unfortunate enough to buy one have been given a large amount of money back.

Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are junk dealers. We bought a Maytag Bravo topload washer in April 2011. Shortly after the first year, after using it once weekly, it began to stop draining. Clothes were soaked, meaning lots of wringing out by hand and using the dryer double time to get them dry. There are no clogs or kinks in the line. The machine is junk! It should have lasted much longer than this. I am not going to spend more money to have a repair person come and check on it. Its not worth it. Im going to buy a GE washer, the old-fashioned kind that gets clothes clean. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are much worse-off breeds these days. They are off the list for good. Their products are a joke. Unfortunately, Im not laughing, but close to tears. Enjoy my money, you **.

Maytag Bravos XL MCT (Disposable). Model number MVWB835DW3 Top load washer. I’ve read many of the reviews on the site and feel your frustrations. Let me start by saying, at least you have a choice of products. I’m stationed in Okinawa Japan and have ONE place to buy my appliances and a choice of two machines. Both of them are garbage Maytag products. The first one (model noted above) died after 18 months. NOTHING they could do! The “technician” they sent didn’t have a clue. His answer was to replace the control board. Time to receive part? Up to 30 days. Really! My option? Buy the exact same product. I can’t even describe how screwed over I feel.

I purchased the matching Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2010 at Lowes. I
I purchased the matching Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2010 at Lowes. I also purchased the extended warranty to have coverage for 4 years after purchase date. I noticed the dryer sensor is not very accurate. The purpose of the sensor is to detect when clothes are dry and then end the drying cycle automatically. However, it fails in both ways. When the dryer stops on its own, the clothes are still damp. I have the setting on NORMAL>LOW HEAT>NORMAL DRYNESS (the reason for the low heat is not to fade/shrink clothes) and even though the heat is on low, it should still keep running until the clothes are dry. So when I open the door and feel the clothes, they are still damp; I turn it back on to run again. If I dont check on it every 10 minutes, the dryer just keeps running and the clothes are bone dry. The sensor should detect this. Once, I decided to test it to see how long it would run with dry clothes and it ran for an HOUR before it shut off. Talk about a waste of electricity. The washer also has issues. First is the SHEETS setting. This setting is supposed to prevent sheets from tangling/balling up. Every time I use the sheets setting, my washer stops with the UL error - uneven load. Meaning, I have to babysit the washer because otherwise, it will stop and wait until I pull out the sheets and loosen them up. I am only washing 1 fitted full size sheet, 2 flat full size sheets, and 4 pillow cases. The reason I bought this machine was because it is supposed to handle king size bedding. Apparently, this washer cannot even handle full size bedding and I refuse to wash each item individually - the machine is supposed to save energy, not require extra loads. The second issue I am having, which resulted in me calling to utilize my extended warranty, is tiny rust dots on my clothes! About 3 months ago, I noticed one of my t-shirts had 4 tan spots smaller than the size of a dime. I assumed I spilled something on myself. About a month later, I noticed it was on another top. Then I assumed it was something on the back of my chair at work causing the spots. It seems to happen every couple of weeks because another article of clothing had these mysterious dots on them. Once, it appeared on my towels and sheets. I realized it was not me spilling anything on myself, nor was it from anything on my chairs. Now, I wasnt sure whether it was the washer or dryer, but I noticed when I pulled out a white sweater from the washer, there were 3 dots on it in the front, and I definitely would have noticed these before, which is how I came to the conclusion it’s from the washer. I cannot see any rust inside of the washer basket so I dont know where its coming from, but I am certain it is not from other articles of clothing (such as zippers or snaps); and the reason I know this is because I do not wash towels with clothes and also, I am 8 months pregnant and have been wearing maternity clothes for the past 5 months and they do NOT contain any zippers or snaps. I took pictures of the rust stains on various items and combined to 1 image. Now, I called my extended warranty to have a service technician come assess these three problems. Well see what happens.

After owning my refrigerator for about six months, it started to reek, the smell permeating all of the food in the fridge. After cleaning and disinfecting the fridge and throwing out all of the food I found that the smell was just as bad as before. When I checked online I found that Maytag owners have been complaining about the smell for over a decade now. It is caused by a poorly installed drain pan. The fridges design directs air flow so that the smell enters the fridge and distributes it evenly throughout the fridge.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

After seeing all the bad reviews about Maytag I decided to write my review, we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 1990 when moving into our new home, and we still have the same set. Now it does not have a motherboard which I feel today is the major problem with most appliances. Get away from the motherboards. Turn the machine on and off when its supposed to, or let it run its Cycles. Dont overfill, because this causes wearing motor parts. The dryer belt wore out on the dryer but that was an easy replacement. Im a woman of 64 and get it myself. I could not get parts for Maytag Model MHWE200XW00 Type 832A as the Whirlpool does not provide after sales service. I purchased the new washer in 2010 and lasted for just 4 years. I believe they guarantee supply of spare parts (Inner Basket, Outer Tub and Rubber Boot) for 10 years and more.

In May 2007, I bought a matching Maytag Neptune washer Model MAH5500 and dryer. I also bought the 3-year extended warranty. Approximately 4 years later, actually 1 month after the warranty had expired, the washer started to get very loud and sounded like a jet engine taking off. I called Brennen Repair Service in Midland, Michigan. The repair man came out and said he did not even have to look at the washer. He knew what was wrong. The bearings were going in the machine. He said I could fix it for approximately $600 or just run it till it quits. I was furious. I called Maytag and explained my issue and was told that there was not a recall and they could do nothing to help me. They even told me that they had not had any complaints of this nature regarding this model. I told them they were full of it. I know of at least 4 people in my family and workplace that have had to replace the Maytag front loader piece of ** washing machine. I think Maytag should stick behind their product with all the complaints out there. I would like to shove my washer through their front window. I previously owned a Maytag washer for 25 years and had not one issue. It ran perfectly. I will never buy another Maytag product nor will anyone in my family. Maytag, you suck. Your service and reputation is appalling.

I purchased my first and last Maytag double door bottom freezer in Aug 2018. The ice maker shoots ice out all over the floor, only half make it into the glass. It also sounds as though ice is falling down inside door. I had the ice maker replaced twice, the gasket as well, the back removed to check for water line blockage NO avail. Before the first ice maker replacement it sounded like a freight train. I questioned whether I had received a store second from Home Depot or a return as the stickers inside had been removed but HD couldn’t assist and Maytag didn’t care. Definitely NOT worth the 2000 I paid.

We went to Lowe’s to buy a new washer when our old front loader would’ve cost more to repair than was worth it. This Bravo XL washer is the biggest rip off EVER!! I, like others, have watched with a flashlight & see that most clothes are nowhere NEAR being wet AT ALL!! Let me tell you... I am BEYOND LIVID!! I bought this washer thinking we could wash our comforter at home instead of a laundromat and WHAT A JOKE!! It would never even wet a FOURTH of a queen comforter, let alone the whole thing!! My husband had to actually LEAVE HIS JOB to go home and change because his shirts smelled like a wet animal! People actually were commenting on the smell!!Believe me, we tell EVERYONE how ridiculous this whole energy saving scam is!! AND... I am having to wash clothes TWO and THREE times to get them NEAR smelling normal!! My electric bill and water bill have gone up substantially and again, I AM LIVID BEYOND WORDS!! We spent over $900 for this washer with the extended warranty!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I BUY MAYTAG!!! And I have tried EVERYTHING to try to rectify this; I added less detergent, I’ve used the deep water wash, extra rinses. I’ve had the Maytag technician here replacing the circuit board thinking perhaps THAT would give me more water. I sure wish we could all do something for SO MANY of us being taken advantage of!!! Did I mention I’m FUMING?!!?

As with most other owners I am dissatisfied with the cleaning action of the machine. I suspect, that in an attempt to garner green bonus points, the engineers have tweaked the cleaning water amount to the absolute minimum that may do the job and lengthened the wash cycle to the point that laundry for two average adults is an all day affair. Only get a decent washing job if you make very small loads. If you put a set of king cotton sheet in the machine, you will find that the machine manipulates them into the shape of your compact spare tire, and when you take them out... you will find many sections where the water did not reach... bone dry! Reload, rewash, ground hog day with each load. Cant wait for it to throw a bearing so I can get something else.

We have a purchased a Maytag two door refrigerator a few years ago despite my wifes repeated request not to buy any Maytag product. We had a bad experience with another Maytag product in the past. Now like many others we are experiencing the horrible nightmare of getting a water leakage from time to time that floods our tiled floor and it is getting worse and causing damage to floor and other kitchen cabinets that are anchored to the floor. We had a certified technician who suggested us to thaw the freeze and then reconnect it back. We did what we were told but that did not fix the problem. My wife found out that there had been 913 complaints from consumers on Maytag refrigerators. Why Consumer Affairs is doing nothing about it and why there is not a recall of Maytag refrigerators. We will never buy another Maytag product nor will we recommend others to buy. Enough is enough being discontent.

The dishwasher would not start July 30 2015. Tried to get service around here and no shops could respond. Called Midsouth Distributors for circuit board. They did not have one but would order and gave me the part # W10595570 based on the Model # MDB7749SBW3. Hoping could find one quicker somewhere else. Ordered one overnight from Sears and planned to replace the board by myself. However, I noticed the flat wire with 14 wires in the ribbon cable had brown spots. From my experience in the electrical systems, I realized this must be shorting out the start signal to the dishwasher logic controller. Sure enough, after scraping this off with a sharp knife, I was able to start my dish washer. My previous MAYTAG lasted 20 years. I bought this one in February 2014 at Home Depot. The design for the electrical controls is obviously very poor as testified by so many angry owners. MAYTAG should be required to replace all these control panels with a improved design at their cost. I hope this obvious poor design of a part gets attention in the United States and ConsumerAffairs will help us. I have called 1-800-688-9900 and registered with MAYTAG a complaint about this poor design.

We purchased this Maytag about ten years ago. We had an old brown one that had to be 25 yrs old and still going. This piece of junk has had two compressors; the ice machine hasnt worked in a year, and now it just went out again (third time weve lost hundreds in food)!!!! About the same time we bought a Woods freezer on the cheap, this freezer sits in the laundry room crap piled on it and around it and never have had a problem. Maytag = $2500.00 boat anchor.

I did not get satisfaction from Maytag customer service as they tried to sell me a repair program whilst I was trying to determine if it was under warranty as it is a known problem. I now have a repair person coming out with a price of $189.95 + time. A complete joke of an organization. Lesson? Do NOT purchase any MAYTAG brand. They DO NOT stand by their product. We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # MSF25D2EAS on 10-22-2012 at the Home Depot in Tracy, CA. On 2-2-2014 (15 months) we noticed a puddle on the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, we noticed that the refrigerator was not working. Went over to Home Depot and were given the name and number of the authorized Maytag repair dealer (A and E). The technician arrived on 2-5-2014 and replaced the compressor on-off /overload relay and charged $243.82. On 2-16-2014 (11 days later), the same thing happened again. The technician came on 2-19-2014. This time, it was the compressor at a cost of $800.00 plus the $75.00 service call. One can purchase the compressor online for $300.00 and I am sure that A and E buys it for a lot less. We thought about it and decided not to get it fixed because we did not know what else would go wrong and how long would the second compressor last. We talked to the Appliance Departments assistant manager and were told that Home Depot does not give any kind of consideration and she had worked there for 11 years and had not heard of any problems. She was not telling the truth or she was not aware of the numerous negative customer reviews online. She also informed me that I should have bought a warranty. We have bought quite a few refrigerators in 50 years and they lasted for many years. Home Depot sells inferior products. Maytag must sell these inferior products at discounted prices and of course, some stores are looking for larger profits. I do not trust Home Depot any longer and will not purchase appliances there anymore. It was a very expensive lesson - the price of the refrigerator, loss of food (twice) and the stress it caused. We bought a new refrigerator at Sears and it was not a MAYTAG.

Thinking that the Neptune fiasco was over, I happily bought into the sick company and got burnt 3 times for all 3 purchases. The Gemini range with dual ovens: the controller clock with all relays and electronic package is dying, leaving me with no ovens, or slow heating and an alarm in the middle of the night. Now, even the burners are not working properly. Junk at any price, and I paid $2,400. Not 5 years old and repaired several times under warranty; all were electrical failures. The fridge is another failure. Apparently the Freon is leaking out. It is unrepairable and it was typical of these from what the service guy said, not 5 years old. It was repaired once, leaking on floor. Apparently, it was a kinked drain hose. The dishwasher was one year old and it caught fire when the dial was turned while the machine was running. The 4th machine, an over the range microwave, is still running… although from day one it sucks so much power on the dedicated line that it dims the lights in the microwave as it starts up and each time, the magnetron energizes. I am just waiting for it to fail too. Can you say never and mean it? There was no goodwill offered. “So sad” and “too bad” is the common line. Nothing will last more than 5 years if you listen to sales people at Maytag - junk. There was no help from the corporate office. Nothing I can do for you. Junk, junk, junk.

The bearing assembly needs to be replaced. So, that means the tub and basket need to be replaced too. The original cost in 04/2010 was $1,088 plus tax. The cost to repair is $1,048. Maytag will do nothing since it was purchased over 12 months ago. I cant believe I just threw almost $1100 away on a washer. We purchased our Maytag dishwasher (model MDB7609AWW2) on November 14th, 2009 from a local appliance shop in White Plains, NY. Total purchase price was $449, not including tax.Sometime in November of 2011, the unit stopped working. I tried every simple test I could think of to hopefully reset the unit. Finishing the obvious checks, I researched some possible problems on the internet latch micro switch, drainage problem, dirty latch, etc. Frustrated as nothing got it working again, I called a repairman recommended to us by the appliance store. The repairman charged me $75 for the visit just to tell me that the control board is shot. Even worse, and this is the reason for this letter, the part costs $329 plus $40 in labor! That is outrageous! If you do the math, I am facing the costs of a brand new unit to fix the old one. That might make sense if the unit was 8 years old but it is barely 2.I have sat on the decision now for a few days as I am beyond upset and I never make good decisions when I feel like this. But to recap, Maytag manufactures an appliance where its basic function - turning on - fails in 2 years and the repair cost essentially totals (to use insurance parlance) the unit. I find this absolutely unacceptable.I don’t expect Maytag to do anything for me. But I will say this; I plan on letting everyone I know just how this experience went. To make things worse, I am willing to pay for a quality unit but how does anyone know what that is anymore? For color, my grandmother has a KitchenAid dishwasher from the 1970s that is still running fine. No membrane controls, no delay functions or fancy BS super sanitary cycles and guess what, it has no control board, just plain old dials and buttons. Imagine that mechanical control? Built to last unlike the junk you see today. To remedy, I plan on picking up a used machine from the classifieds. I’ll install it myself and be able to do this for 9 years at $449, assuming it only lasts one year (I’m finding these units for $50 used). I may get lucky and find an old one from the 70s that will last a lot longer than that.

We purchased the Maytag double oven 30 inch 5 burner, stainless steel, model MGT8885XS. Oven worked good for six weeks. The igniter broke in the bottom oven and when the third party non-Maytag repairman came out to fix it, he was unable to remove the bottom oven door. It is not flush and heat escapes when the bottom oven is on and it causes the top oven to get condensation. The repair man was directed from a technician from Whirlpool that he had to order a new seal and hinges. I dont want it fixed. I want a new one. I have called Customer Service for Whirlpool and the third party and the store in which I bought it from and everyone is pushing it off onto someone else. Customer service is poor and stated they will only fix the oven and will not send us a new oven. We sent our rebate in the mail which was to arrive within 8 weeks and we have yet to receive it. I bought my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set about 4 years ago when I moved into my home. The performance of the washer has always seemed mediocre. Despite using the correct HE products, clothes dont get as clean as with other washers I owned. Many times the washer becomes unbalanced, gets the UL code and I need to move my clothes around to get it running again. A few months ago, the washer started a new behavior: stopping during the initial fill cycle and displaying an F1 error. I soon figured out if I hit cancel and then start again several times, it would resume filling and proceed with the cycle. Over time, I had to repeat it more and more. I read about other complaints and suggestions on the internet and tried pulling the plug for a few minutes to reset the control panel as well as turning off the breaker to reset the machine. After troubleshooting the problem for 15 minutes or longer, the machine eventually runs. Then I can run subsequent loads with no problem. After a week or longer of doing no laundry, when I try to start the machine, I need to go through the entire process of canceling the wash load and terminating electric power to reset the machine. I have called Maytag/Whirlpool and got unsatisfactory answers. I only wash two to three loads of wash about every ten days and sometimes even less. The 800 number for Maytag was automated and would only schedule a repair without asking about the specific problem or being able to talk with a person. There was no way to cancel the service call scheduled and I had to call another 800 number to finally speak with a Whirlpool representative who tried to help me. She connected me with A&E Factory Service to cancel the service call. Both representatives stated that most likely the control board is the problem and the cost for diagnosis would be $130 plus the cost of parts, which could run from $200 to $400 since Im no longer under warranty. I canceled the service call as the cost of repair would be easily be almost half or more of the cost of purchasing a new (and different) machine. This is the electronics module, something that shouldnt be worn down or broken by use or even user error. This is an integral part of the machine and if it has a fault (which it clearly does), the manufacturer needs to stand behind it and help the consumer. The customer service manager even admitted that models with other model numbers had had similar problems and a free control board was sent to those customers. But my model was not in that range.”I had purchased a Maytag Bravos dryer at the same time as I purchased the washing machine and the dryer had a problem within a week of the warranty expiring. A service repair person came to my home to repair the dryer as it was barely a year old and I did not use it for several months that year (due to other reasons). From the volume of complaints Ive seen online, the Maytag Bravos washing machines should have been recalled and repaired or replaced free of charge.

Bought the Maytag top load high efficiency washer (also matching dryer which works perfectly) brand new less than 6 months ago. It is the worst. It leaves swirl marks on my clothes that doesnt come out. Leaves part of clothing dry without being a large load! If I put sheets in there it blows up like a mushroom and leaves that part dry. I use the correct detergent. I had a serviceman, that the manufacturer suggested, check it and determined there is nothing wrong with it which only leads me to the conclusion that it is a poorly designed product. Spoke to a manager at Maytag that said the machine works fine. And because it is in a business setting there is nothing they can do. (What? If it worked fine, I wouldnt be here.) I purchased my Maytag washer and dryer set from the Maytag store in Glendal
I purchased my Maytag washer and dryer set from the Maytag store in Glendale, AZ in September 2005. I even bought the stands for them. With my purchase, I got the extended warranty for four more years. I didnt realize that I would really need it. I have had so many issues with the washer and dryer I cant even count - from the control panel not working, to the noise and the vibration when washing, or maybe in the smell of moldy cheese. I also have issues with the constant chimes of D5 code that keeps coming up on the display screen. After 2009, I finally gave up on calling the Maytag customer service folks to have someone come and service the washer because it was out of warranty. I just decided to live with all those issues. As far as my dryer goes, the rollers went bad and that was replaced. The burnt smell isnt so bad as long as you use a wire hanger with a sock on the end of it and clean the inside of the vent. Then try to vacuum it, take the sock, get it wet, and clean the inside of the vent again. This was the most expensive piece of junk I have ever purchased in my life (almost $3,000.00 with the stands and warranty). What really gets me upset is I had the Maytag people servicing my washer and dryer up until 2009 and no one told me about a recall of my washer and dryer. The only reason I found out about it was searching for the specs as the washer finally died and I am replacing it. Trust me. I will not be purchasing a Maytag. I know that Whirlpool purchased Maytag so I am not even going to consider Whirlpool either. Since Whirlpool purchased Maytag, Whirlpool should have contacted all Maytag consumers, (which they didnt), put ads in newspapers (which I did not see) or put an ad on TV. None of these appeared to have happened.By the way, when I bought my Maytag appliances, I was supposed to get a $200 rebate for buying the stands that never came. It must have gotten lost in the mail - as well as the Tide coupons for three years. You, guys, remember that too. I will never ever purchase a Maytag appliance or Whirlpool, since they own Maytag now.

Swore when I got rid of the Maytag smooth top stove that broke after 5 years that I would never get another Maytag but broke down and bought this fridge. Maytag rep made it clear that the Fridge had a NOTE on file about the drain, but it was NOT a product recall. So after virtually taking the freezer apart before the repairman came, we ended up paying $120.00 for the repair, not the part. Yippee. Please note that the repairman told us we saved a lot of money by taking apart the freezer so most repairs probably cost a lot more than ours.

We purchased the Maytag front loader Neptune washer and dryer set in 2006. Since then, the washer violently vibrates during the spin cycle - moving out of place and requiring me to move it manually. A certified Maytag technician came out to fix it and could not. The Maytag representative I spoke with said the circuit board is known to be defective and Maytag has not given any direction on how to fix, but that the board is irreparable at that time (in addition to the mold smell that emits from the washer despite the fixes for this). The old washers also used to have a coin receptacle so that any coins that were left in pockets went into the coin receptacle instead of into the pump area. This protected the pump assembly. But to cut costs, they took that coin receptacle out. This causes any coins or other possible things that fall out of the pocket to go into the pump area, getting lodged in there and requiring a costly replacement for the part in addition to costly labor. This washer does not do the best job in the spin cycle because it vibrates so much, leaving a lot of excess water in the clothes. I have also smelled a burning smell when doing loads that suggests there may be electrical issues that could cause a fire hazard. Then there is the dryer. The Maytag Neptune front load dryer has design issue with the electrical assembly. We smelled a burning smell and unplugged it. After taking apart the front cover, the heating coils had set on fire excess lint that had gotten into the heating assembly. In addition, the coil snapped in half, possibly causing a short in the wiring. This also caused other electrical issues that are causing more money to fix. In addition, this is the second time we have dealt with electrical issues with the dryer that have cost us over $400 to fix, including having to replace the drum because it was cracked. Lint and other items seems to get into the very important electrical areas of the dryer due to a faulty design in the lint tray, because the lint goes right through a hole into the areas where the heater coils are, which caused the burning smell in our dryer. In my opinion, both these machines could be very good machines if they were not made so cheaply and if they put good quality into the machines. They dont seem to be worth the price and the support is not there. Even more frustrating, the company does not stand behind the product, leading me to believe that they know about these problems, but dont want to fix them when they go bad. This can pose a hardship for families waiting for two weeks for parts while their dryers or washers are broken. Not to mention the enormous repair costs after the warranty has expired. Try to get them to replace something on the warranty and you have even more problems.

We purchased our Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in 2006. Months after our purchase, we tried every HE detergent we could find to see if our towels would smell fresh. Nothing we have tried has worked. I just went to Maytags web site. I found out there was a recall on this washing machine due to the mold on the door gasket. Why didnt they send me a recall notice so this could be corrected with a refund or something?

Lid lock issue. 2 years old. I will never buy a Maytag, or any other Whirlpool brand for that matter. I am VERY disappointed. A service call will cost at least $200 dollars so why not just buy a new washer for that price. Also, I read that consumers should stay away from automatic water level washers. They never work right.

I HATE this washer. It had such good reviews before I bought it, but I have never been so disappointed. Doesnt use NEARLY enough water to get anything clean, even when I try deep water wash, bedding, or power wash. You cant switch modes in the middle of a load, and if you leave it paused too long, it drains on you. Ive tried balling everything up as the manufacturer advised. I tried using less detergent, again as advised. Nothing works. Sometimes the clothes on top dont even get wet. Dont waste your money!! If I can find a way to fix my old washer, Im going to do that and throw this thing to the junk heap.

We purchased a Maytag washing machine top load (#MVWX550XW) on 12-20-2010. The switch on the machine that starts it running when you close the cover went out under warranty. They put a new switch in and it only lasted a while. I had to pay this time, $240.00 for repair. Now again, 1-2-2013, the switch is not working. I think that it is a lemon. I called the company and they will not cover the cost. Instead they want to sell a warranty for over $300.00 for one year and then if I purchased it, then they would fix it.If I did that, I would have more money into the repairs then what the machine cost ($583.44). Isnt there a lemon law? It looks like I will have to get rid of this machine and buy a different brand. Yes, Maytag has let me down. I cannot recommend their products because of the quality and answers that they give. I cannot afford an attorney, which leaves me upset when somebody wont cover the cost of the third repair.

So the reviews for the Bravos MCT online were pretty decent. We purchased our set from Lowes. However, the clothes dont turn over. I watched as long as I could (getting frustrated the longer I watched) to see how the clothes were going to get turned over and washed. All they did was get rubbed on the bottom of the pile where those agitator fins are. But they never got a good flipping so that the top of the pile was washed. I only had 4 normal size towels in there. So it isnt like I had too many clothes. So I called Maytag to tell them what I was observing and the gentlemen explained that it was counter-intuitive technology and that it seems like they wont come clean but he promised me by the time the load was done they would be clean. Yet - they did not come clean! The dirt on the towel was still there on the top of the load with dog hair. NOT TO MENTION SUDS!! Im so disappointed because the burden is on me to either take this set back or deal with it. Buyer beware - if you look at this machine and ask yourself how in the world will the clothes get clean - you are asking a great question! They dont!!

At two different times today I was left on hold for thirty minutes each. I was told the compressor only had a year warranty on it, cant do anything about it. I then went online to Maytag web page and it read only on compressor the warranty had ten years. I called them after a very long wait and was told that was just started with the ten year warranty. I have owned many different refrigerators never heard of compressor only lasting 5 years. The serviceman who came out to tell me compressor was bad said the name Maytag used to stand for something but now stands for junk. Worse customer service, worse product.

I wish I had found this website before I bought my new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot on March 7, 2018. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag washer that I should have kept. I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

I have had nothing except trouble with my new Maytag Bravos washer! I first had a suspension arm or something like that replaced along with the agitator. My water cycle has never worked correctly since it was new. I take out the clothes and half are still dry. My daughter washed her kids’ clothes in the washer while she was living with us and the stains did not come out. She thought that is really unusual since they werent stains that normally you would see left on the clothes. I went to my father-in-law’s house (they have a front loading Bosch), took her detergent with her that she used here and guess what? It’s just one washing and the stain was gone. She had washed the clothes in our washer at least 7 times trying to get out the stain. Now, we have such a loud noise that it sounds like it is going to take off. Then, the bottom of the washer started to leak. We took it out and checked it and we cant find the leak. The clothes smell awful when they come out of the wash. I dont know if it is bacteria build up. I use the cycle cleaner when I am supposed to. This is so sad. This is the first time I have had matching washer and dryer and I wish I would have kept my old Sears model that worked great. I havent decided if we want to fix it. With the price to fix it, I can buy one I might like. Never will I buy Maytag again or another Whirlpool without checking out the reports.

My experience over the past 2 years with my top loading Maytag washer is echoed in almost every review here. 1. Not enough water to clean the clothes 2. Clothes come out still dirty and covered with detergent 3. Barely agitates 4. Repeated repairs for leaking and computer board breakdown 5. Complete lack of interest by either Lowe’s and Maytag when contacted. I could write a long, detailed complaint but it has all been said quite well. We need to band together and file a class action lawsuit against Maytag. Any lawyers out there willing to take this on?

We are extremely frustrated with this machine. It takes an extremely long time to go through the cycle, compared to past washing machines, even when it is working. It rarely completes the cycle and often goes back to wash and stops. We have no way of knowing if it washed or rinsed or what. To get it to finish, we have to turn the dial to drain and spin. The clothes always come out tightly twisted and tangled up and have to be untwisted and items pulled from each other....so they are extremely wrinkled! This is the first and last Maytag product we will ever buy. We HATE it!!! I would say it has been a lemon from day one but Home Hardware was no help when we complained. We tell everyone to stay away from this product.

Since the day the Neptune washer and dryer were installed, the washer has given me nothing but problems. It vibrates so badly and dances all over the floor.I have had the repairman over at least seven times and, now, it is out of warranty so I am spending my own money. The last service man was from Hurst Appliances in Regina, SK. He removed the pedestal to see if this might be the problem. He also sold me some foot pads for $50 that he said might help the problem. However the machine is still vibrating and the terrible mold smell comes out of it as well. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product. I will never buy another Maytag product and tell my friends not to as well.

We renovated our kitchen in 2008 and installed all Maytag appliances. We had purchased a Maytag dishwasher 3 years prior to the renovation-- that we kept. Well, the dishwasher was the first Maytag appliance to go. After replacing several cheap plastic parts on the dish racks (I resorted to use twist ties at one point to hold the racks together) the racks started to chip and rust, leaving stains on our dishes. The cost to replace the racks was about $150 so we just replaced the dishwasher (with a Bosch - so far, no problems!)Then, a couple of the igniters on our gas cooktop stopped working. Since they were the back burners that we didnt use much, we just used a match to light them and let it go. Next, one of the hinges on the double wall oven door snapped. This is a little concerning because the doors are heavy and will need to be replaced. And the final straw concerns our French door refrigerator. The control panel started flashing wildly and the ice door was opening and closing with a loud clicking sound. Of course this happened on a weekend so I looked online and found hundreds, if not thousands, of similar complaints. So I called Maytag and spent nearly an hour on the phone only to be told that my model number was not one of the recalled ones. I explained that my problem was exactly like the others and was told that the best they could do was offer me 50% off any parts. The service call and shipping would not be covered either. The Maytag representative that I spoke to tried to cheer me up by telling me that at least they had the part I would need in stock, unlike the recalled models. Those parts are discontinued and have to be specially manufactured and have a two month waiting period. The part is about $250 and add to that the shipping and service call and I am sure this is going to cost me several hundred dollars even with the discount on the part. Very, very disappointed. Never again will I buy Maytag, never again!

We bought this stove in 2014. One knob got stuck while my teenager was cooking food on the gas stove. He called me at work worried because he couldnt turn it off. My husband left work right away to go home. We thought it was just a bad plastic knob. Now a second knob is stuck in the on low position. There is a third knob that feels hard to turn. That will be 3 burners. This is ridiculous. Its a safety hazard. We consumers have to worry if the house will burn down, get CO2 in the air, and if our family and children are safe. We thought Maytag was a good appliance. I will not buy another Maytag. They should recall this stove top/oven. I have read so many of the same complaint on this website as well as online in general. I cant believe they continue to sell this with this much of a safety issue. Please take it off the market.

Original owner of $800 HE top loader washer since 2010. We heard a grinding noise for months, then finally it seized up. Repairman quoted me $300 to replace bearings. The repair guy seemed a bit too eager for the job, so I knew it must have been easier than expected. I Googled the heck out of it, and used this forum heavily for guidance. Seems the bearing failure is a pattern issue. It also seemed ridiculously involved and no one had posted a how to video matching my model’s layout. I took a peek with my own eyes and noticed a sock had gotten under the basket. The sock got caught in the drive belt and knocked everything loose. I removed the debris, tightened the pulley and everything worked. Cost me $0 to fix myself. So buyers beware before repair. And check the error codes yourself when in doubt! The first thing I did was check error codes. Found a great video here **.

I, too, have had major problems with this Maytag refrigerator! We have experienced everything from a malfunctioning ice maker, flashing control panel, overloaded compressor, erratic freezer (freezes much of the fridge contents), and doors not staying closed/inadvertently popping open. We have owned this fridge since 2007 and have repaired the ice maker and the freezing problems on our own dime. When the clicking sound woke the entire house up at 5 am, I finally decided to post! I realize that appliances are not perfect, and that Maytag had the best of intentions when designing and producing this product, but what really infuriates me is that Maytag has known about this widespread inherent problem since late 2006! Why no recall? Why no notice? Why no assistance? When I called the customer service line this morning, the representative acted like shed never even heard of this fridge having problems - yeah, right. All you have to do is Google the model number or just Maytag fridge panel flashing and clicking problem to discover thousands of similar complaints. I do not fault Maytag for manufacturing a less than perfect appliance, but I do hold them accountable for adequately repairing/replacing such a rampant and unsafe (compressor overload) product! Maybe it is time for a class action. Something needs to be done to protect the consumer from a company that is so slow to correct a long-standing and potentially dangerous problem!
