Maytag Bravos top load washing machine - This is the worst washing machine
Maytag Bravos top load washing machine - This is the worst washing machine I have ever used. Like some of the other complaints it leaves lint on your clothing. It does not put enough water in the machine. The so called smart technology that senses your load does a terrible job. Your clothing is halfway out of the water, with dry spots, even after 10 minutes of agitation. I am constantly adding 3 to 5 gallons of water to my loads to get things in the water. And if I want to let thing soak for a while you have to unplug the machine, because after 10 minutes it will automatically drain the water out. 2 years of dissatisfaction. I cant wait for it to die. I should have come to this site first. Never buy a machine without an agitator!

Ive had this Maytag microwave for about 4 years and the magnetron had to be replaced. The keypad was replaced three times due to SE code shutting down unit which happened again. When I explained this to Maytag, they said it is out of warranty. I explained to them that the last keypad which was replaced was only 6 months old. They replied but the unit is out of warranty! I would never recommend Maytag or any affiliated companies to anyone.

We purchased a Maytag front load washer in May 2006 (MAH6700AWW). In November 2012 we had a leak and called a repair service. We were told it was the dispensing hose which had a hole worn in it and was replaced. In February 2014, we called the same service and was told that we had the same problem. Now in November 2014 we are experiencing the same problem. We have notified Whirlpool of this problem and each time were told that the machine was too old to reimburse us in any way. Guess who wont be buying any Whirlpool products if they do not back up their faulty workmanship.

In my owners manual, the description to replace the oven light shows a simple process of removing a glass bulb cover within the oven itself and then unscrewing the ordinary looking light bulb. However, Maytag made a design change and now uses a complete unit that combines the bulb, the glass cover and the bulb holder. This requires you to pull the stove out from the wall, open up the back of the oven, bend some retaining tabs around the light unit and then remove the whole unit. The killer is, Maytag has made this disgusting, usurious design change in order to force you to pay over $50 US plus taxes and shipping for the replacement unit, instead of $6 CDN ($4.50 US) for a light bulb that you can buy anywhere and can easily change yourself in a couple of minutes within the oven itself. But now you will probably have to call in a repair guy to make this replacement for you. When manufacturers start doing things like that, its time to stop buying their products. I will certainly never use Maytag again, and Ill make sure any other oven manufacturer Ill consider is not doing anything similar.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos from Lowes in early 2014. A few weeks after the motherboard fried and Lowes replaced it with a new one. Within my 1 year warranty the new machine had another fried motherboard. Maytag replaced it for free. Now less than a year later the motherboard is fried again. Needless to say I just purchased another washing machine. Definitely not a Maytag. Now I just have to deal with a dysfunctional piece a junk for a few days until I get my new one. After reading all the complaints on here and other sites, Im very disappointed with Maytag. These machines are obviously lemons and any good company should recall them. Mine will be going straight to the junkyard. I have no interest in having a washer that breaks down every 10 months. Definitely the last thing I will ever purchase from Maytag.

We trusted the Maytag name to give us a good product that would last. After six weeks the Maytag Bravo stopped working. Having to wait 7 days before a service repair person came to our home. The main motherboard needs replaced. So currently, we are still waiting for the part to arrive and have it installed. 2 weeks without a washer after spending 600.00 for a new washer. There is more problems also, this machine takes 1 hour to complete a single load of laundry. Plus it does not get the clothes clean and the rinse cycle does not get all the soap out of the clothes. Very unhappy with the Maytag Commercial Bravo. Will not buy another Maytag product. Save your money and get another brand. We plan to get this one fix and sell it.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

We purchase a matching Maytag washer and dryer set and within the first three months our washer began to give us error codes and would not wash our clothes completely on any cycle. It was repaired and we began to have the same issues within the next couple of months. This all happened within the first year. We called customer service about extending our service warranty due to the multiple malfunctions of this washer. We were given the run around and, quite frankly, the attitude that this was not their problem. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT! I bought my Maytag washer thinking that I was buying a quality product. My washer hardly ever can complete a spin cycle without bumping and knocking and then stopping. Thats right. We bought it in September 2010, and it worked fine for two years. This week, our Maytag (Model: MDB7609AWW2) simply stopped turning on. The appliance repair guy pointed out that Maytag has a horrible record which the new owners (Whirlpool) do not seem to be concerned with because even though they know these electronics are dying very quickly, the replacement parts are exactly the same (unchanged). The cost to replace the suspected failed parts is somewhere around $250. The repair guy just said, I can do it, but its going to break again. His suggestion is to shop for the cheapest dishwasher out there since even the most expensive ones fail so quickly. This particular model has a huge amount of the same complaints.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer almost three years ago and I have been unhappy with it the whole time. I have not had to have it repaired but its performance as far as actually washing clothes and being user friendly are terrible. My clothes do not come clean at all, the tub inside the washer collects any dirt or grass and I have to wipe it out. The inside of the washer smells terrible and I have to keep using fresheners (never had to use them before in 50 years). The cycle time is ridiculously long and only varies by a few minutes from a single item to a full load, I will never buy another HE washer.

My 20 yr old Kenmore washer broke last month so I replaced it with a Maytag
My 20 yr old Kenmore washer broke last month so I replaced it with a Maytag I bought from Lowes. I wanted a simple washer that would maybe last 10 years. The Maytag has a sensor for everything. So you can’t fill the washer, it determines how much water to use and it never fills enough to cover the clothes. It doesn’t agitate really. It’s more like a slow on & off movement. It does everything in an on & off way. The water fill goes on & off, it “washes” on & off. Even the spin is a spin, slow to almost stop - spin again - almost stop - spin again. It also stops filling if you open the lid, I tried to let some water fill before adding clothes (so the liquid detergent could dilute a bit) but every time I opened the top there was no water in the drum, I heated the water running and the drum was wet but it wouldn’t gill at all. I think it only puts water enough to “sense” the clothes have been soaked. I will call Lowes and try to return it.

My Maytag washing machine is rusting out at less than three years! [Photos included]. I have called customer service twice, spoken to two different women and have been told that it is a cosmetic issue [Model MTW2541240; Serial CW2541240 ]. The last e-mail with photos was sent to Gwendolyn **. I indicated that the rust has ruined very expensive sheets, other clothing, towels. It took me a long time to figure out what was causing the spots on the clothes. There is rust on the outside of the machine, the lid and inside the actual drum which holds the water. The machine is a lemon. You have me registered in your system with the date of purchase. My question to you, since when is rust in the inside of a washing machine a cosmetic issue? Are you aware of this issue? Do you as the CEO believe this is what is acceptable for a Maytag washing machine? I firmly suspect this issue is beyond my washer based on my research with various stores and sales people. They are telling me I am not the first with this issue, non-Lowes stores. I purchased the machine at Lowes and because no one at Whirlpool was responsive to him or to Lowes, he is offering to apply the refund to a new Lowes washing machine. I am now in the process of searching my credit card records from Sept-Oct 2008 which is when I bought the machine.I would like not to be restricted to Lowes for another washing machine. I will notify Rick ** (at the Lowes Turtle Creek, Coconut Creek store in Florida, telephone 954 346-3993) of this letter to you so that you and Rick dont think I am trying to obtain a double refund. I just want the full value of the washer back so that I will have a choice in the replacement. The selection at Lowes is limiting. I will upgrade to more of a commercial washer and pay the difference. I wanted you to be made aware of this issue.

We have had our oven for seven years this past October 2015 and has now been down for three weeks. Last February 2015 (8 months ago) we had to replace the bake igniter because the oven would not get up to temperature. The most recent incident happened a few days after Thanksgiving (2015), I was cooking dinner and noticed that the oven was not reaching desired temperature. I then opened the door to see if it was hot inside the oven and when I did it must have ignited making a huge poof and flames came out at me! Thank God my 12-year-old daughter had walked away from cooking with me to answer the telephone because the flames came out exactly where she had been standing!!!I contacted Maytag and explained what had happened and how we could have had an explosion or someone couldve burned. The first questions they did ask me was if anyone was injured or any damage to our house?!?! I was happy for that however, it also told me that this has happened before! They called the Maytag repairman in my area and supposedly made it a priority call in which he could not come until 12/10 which was two weeks after this happened. Therefore, my husband and I contacted a different appliance man who came out and told us it was the temperature sensor. Since fixing it, the oven works ok and cooks properly however, when initially lighting/igniting it is extremely loud and makes a very large/huge poof! Its as if the oven is filling up with gas and eventually lighting! The other night when I lit it to show my husband it was so loud that it rattled the door and he immediately turned off the gas to it. I googled this and it said that its basically a mini explosion where the oven is filling with gas and then igniting! Its to the point that we could lose everything we have worked for just to make a meal! We spend over a thousand dollars on our beautiful stainless steel convect oven. Its gorgeous and when working works great however, Im petrified to use it now because Im scared to being burned or exploding! Now we start over and yesterday on Sunday I contacted the original Maytag repairman who said to call back Maytag again and hell come immediately. Maytag originally told me on the phone that they would cover labor and the service call however, ironically enough they did not write that in the dispatch order! Im outraged! What will it take before its safe for our family and home! My husband is ready to junk it and buy a GE however, we do not have the money especially before Christmas to do so. Oh and let me add that the first week we had the oven we had to call them for the window seal to be replaced because it was hanging. So now seven years after owning it and 10 months apart we are having major issues. What happens if its fixed and a year later it happens again? It could explode in our home!!! SCARED & IRATE WITH MAYTAG & WHIRLPOOL.

My 14 month old Refrigerator made a popping noise and quit working. I called Maytag and I had to pay $299.00 for a Service Plan so the repairs would be covered under a warranty and A&E Factory Service came out to do the repair. The repairman told me the Circuit Board and Compressor were melted and he was surprised it didnt cause a fire. The repairman had to get authorization to order the parts for this repair because they were so expensive and he is not even sure if the repair will fix the refrigerator. It is going to take 2 weeks for the parts to come in which means I will be without a refrigerator for a total of 3 weeks and were not sure if this will fix the problem. I am being told by Assurance (the warranty company) that they have to replace the parts 3 times before they will replace the refrigerator. I asked them, Exactly how long do you expect me to go without a refrigerator before I get mine fixed or replaced? When I called customer service and spoke to Brittany she gave me her standard robotic answers. I asked to speak to a manager and she sent me to the never-ending hold zone. I called back and non manager was available but they took my name and number and assured me that someone would call me back. I am still waiting for that call.

Just got off the phone with Whirlpool Customer Care after getting the run around between parts and customer service for most of the morning. My issue is with the shelving on my MSF25D2EAS01 Maytag side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic surrounding the glass shelving is disintegrating and they are not admitting to a defective design only that the original part has been obsoleted and a new one is available for purchase (an over $300 expense to replace three shelves) on a unit that is just over 2 years old. I am willing to bet the old part has been replaced with a different design after they realized a substantial number of customer complaints. As an engineer, it is obvious to me that these shelves are poorly designed for their intended purpose, furthermore my work allows me to recommend appliance brands for large projects so I see no reason to recommend Whirlpool or any of its subsidiary brands (Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air) to any of our clients. Whirlpool quality and customer service is substandard and no better than any imported brand of appliances.

Thank you all for taking the time to write these reviews. My only regret is that I am reading it now, I wish I would have read it before purchasing my own Maytag washer and dryer... I bought a Maytag MVC565FWI / YMEDC555DW1 washer and dryer duo in December 2018. I had some holes in my sons clothing, but thought maybe they were due to him being a boy of 17 year old in college, sitting all day... Also my dryer was barely drying.Called and had a 1st technician for the dryer issue. He said no wrong code and to try and clean the evacuation vent. As I am a renter, I contacted my owner to do so and he did. But I did not get to try the machine unfortunately since 5 days after the technicians visit, I was deploying to Africa. I am military and was deployed for 8 months. Upon me return, dryer still barely dries and HOLES in every load of laundry that I do. My sons and also my own clothing. This time, there is no mistaking articles that I put in came out with huge circular holes.A second visit with a technician is arranged, last Tuesday October 8th 2019. Still no codes are found. And technician suggests cleaning the conduct better. Again my owner does so. Again, up to 4 cycles of 60 min on High heat to dry articles. No economy on energy on these models! I have called Maytag today since no one has contacted me in a week for my wrecked clothing. To my request of having my appliances either replace or refunded, they say no. Policy is to send a technician. Again. After 2 visits of technical support, Maytag is sending me for a 3rd time a technician (at my cost if nothing is found again) to test the appliances. Since the technicians can not find a code on his machine, Maytag is telling me they will do nothing.I have a washer dryer that wrecks my clothing and does not dry them. (Also I feel like my clothing are never fresh scenting, I wonder how efficient they are with even the basic cleaning part..) I will have to put them in the garbage, because how can I sell them?! Talking to Maytag, is being treated like an infant that does not understand THEM, when in reality, they do not back their products at all. I feel left alone with brand new machines that have been used around 30 times in under 1 year, that I will have to through away in the dump and never ever buy from this company again. M.

We had perfectly working 20 year old top loading white Whirlpools w/ an agitator, when we remodeled our home and wanted new pretty grey appliances and decided to donate our machines to the church. I chose Maytag top loading due to their former reputation we experienced with dishwashers, etc. It had an agitator, deep fill option, extra rinse, etc. The sales person at Home Depot stated, the agitator is because people like you still want the agitator, and the deep fill will give you the water you have been used to. Not so at all!!Clothes get wound up together, even with filling the wash tub in bundles, there is almost NO water to thoroughly clean & the rinse cycle is a joke. Clothes do NOT come out clean. Im 58 yrs. old and have been doing laundry since I was 13 so I know what I am doing. Its just my husband and I now, and he is so upset that his clothes are pilling probably from rubbing together, even though I occasionally use laundry bags. I seriously wish I would have saved my money and kept the 2 perfectly working whirlpool units I had. This has been such a disappointment. I sincerely would not buy these.P.S. Weve had service out at least 5 times in the last year, and all they do is test the washer and tell us its working as intended... The last thing that is going to happen is we are going to get refunded for a different set, even though we were educated over and over what it would do by Home Depot associates. We are heartbroken. Maytag is going to lose their former reputation on these washers a dryers :( There is simply not enough water to clean or rinse things!

Maytag is the worst washer company. I owned my washer for two years and I had two different problems with it and now I have a 3rd. The first was the same day they delivered the washer, I needed a wire harness. I should have returned it then but I didnt. The 2nd was six months after the first one. A wire came loose due to the washer shaking and the 3rd, Im not sure why it wont drain but the tub is full of water. I called Maytag and they really didnt care as long as they got their money. They referred me to three companies that fixes washer. Two of three was already out for this washer. If I didnt know any better I would think Maytag gets paid off for every customer they referred to these companies. I would never buy another Maytag Bravo or Whirlpool product. Im very dissatisfied with their Bravo washers. They lost a long time customer.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher Model Number MDB7749AWM1 in June 2011. With a two person household, we need a new control panel in Sept 2014. Total cost of service call, repair and part is $325. This unit was a poor value for us. I see the trend is to discontinue a model after a short period of time, making it impossible for anyone to get a review of other peoples experiences. I went with Maytag because of this. It was a company with a strong reputation for quality equipment. Not so anymore. I would not purchase another product made by Maytag.

Bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in November 2012 for a cost of $1,647.48. In August 2013 it stops making ice day 1, stops cooling & it is running nonstop, all lights on display go out day 2. Called Home Depot & was given another number to call, called that number was told someone would be out next day to look at it. Also told my warranty would expire in November & I needed to buy another warranty. Maytag customer service was very rude. If their product was any good why do I have to pay extra for another warranty. A $1,647.48 refrigerator that only lasts 9 months, REALLY!!! Do not purchase Maytag appliances if you dont want to lose your money. Shame on Home Depot for not standing behind their merchandise. If you have a problem while warranty is in effect, Home Depot should replace product.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer at Best Buy (Pacific Sales)
I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer at Best Buy (Pacific Sales) in March 2013 at Best Buy. I also purchased extended warranty on both machines. A few months into owning the machines, the washer started giving us a UL error light. It wouldnt finish the wash cycle and had to be restarted multiple times before it would do so. I called Best Buy and they sent out a repairman. He said the set-up cycle had not be run correctly by their own installation team (which I paid for), and he said that he had fixed it.A few months later the problem started reoccurring again. Best Buy sent out repairman again who claimed there was nothing wrong with the machine. He left and the problem started reoccurring soon thereafter. I called again, and Best Buy said they couldnt do anything about it because Maytag could only work on the machine (it was now getting an F:51 error message as well). Maytag sent someone out who watched it run for 15 minutes and diagnosed that it was fine and left. I told him that the error didnt occur until the end of the cycle, but this seemed to make no difference to him (he didnt want to wait).Same thing happened again (might run five to ten loads without an error and then it pops up again), and I called Best Buy again. They sent out the Maytag repairman again (different repairman). He spent about the same amount of time as the previous Maytag repairman. His conclusion was that the machine was fine; he told us that this particular washer (the top-of-the-line for Maytag) gets out of balance frequently and that we would simply need to live with it. Like his colleague, though I told him that the error message doesnt occur until the end of the cycle, he didnt stay that long. Not long after he left, the problem started occurring again. I called Best Buy and indicated that theyve had plenty of chances to repair the machine and that I wanted a new one. They said someone would call. The response: another call to schedule a repair visit. I called them back and told them that I didnt want another repairman but rather a new machine (weve wasted hours and hours of our time giving them a chance to make the purchase right). They then had someone from the Geek Squad call, who swore that hed put his best guy on it and that he would actually work on it this time (ordered parts). He was supposed to show up this past Friday but called in sick (now rescheduled for this coming Friday). In the meantime, the machine (last night) quit working altogether. I have a pile of wet laundry and am faced with going to the laundry mat today.Im at an utter loss of words for this experience. It is truly the most frustrating consumer experience that Ive ever had. Ive watched Best Buy, Pacific Sales, and Maytag play pingpong back and forth across the table for months. I paid good money for top-of-the-line washer but have gotten bottom-of-the-line service. Surely, at this juncture, Maytag and Best Buy will finally do the right thing. I am going down to the Best Buy store this morning to visit with the store manager (and then to the laundry mat...not exactly how I wanted to spend my Sunday). If not, then next steps will be to figure out how to find representation to force the issue of the lemon law. Exasperated.

Said no my stove my mom bought and still works perfect sentimental plus three children using it. Not one problem. So he buys this Maytag stove I didn’t like but don’t cook much warming things up or frozen pizza. Go to our sons for holidays. Always next day cook a turkey for sandwiches. Open the door which is too heavy. Wouldn’t close and called my husband. Got it semi closed. Said we’re not eating it. He proceeds to cook. Door opened. More turkey is in garbage. My husband started reading. I also did. Looks like these Maytag stoves are garbage. Make a lot of money for repairs. Now this goes to dump. No one stands behind their products. I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 2019 in Home Depot for my new home. The dishwasher stopped washing dishes after two years and 6 months. The price of the new machine was 700$ and I did not buy the extended warranty. The trouble is circulation pump, that cost to install the new one from local service would be about 350$ plus the new pump 150$. I consider quality is very poor if the new dishwasher works only two years and then it is better to buy a new item than fix the old one. Never never buy Maytag production.

I purchased a floor model Maytag Dishwasher from Abt electronics about a year and a half ago. 2 months ago, various light started flashing. Somehow I managed to get it going. Some blogs reported it might be a drainage problem. Others suggested pressing a certain sequence of buttons. After Each time I got it to work, it became harder the next. I bought Maytag because my old dishwasher lasted 13 years. What is interesting is that a company whose name Ive forgotten sent me bimonthly requests to purchase a warranty from them. Now they have stopped. I am a single mom of 3 with an unemployed ex. I work and support my family without any assistance. I count every penny. I cannot afford repairs nor a replacement now or any time soon. This is a travesty. My door says 10-year limited warranty and the delineates stainless steel tub and racks and chopper blade, but not the panel. I do not understand how Maytags denial of the problem and their unwillingness to correct the problem can improve their image. I will never purchase from Maytag or its associated companies ever again. What a scam! To be honest though, I have not contacted the company since it is not under warranty and all the blogs have relayed the same message: Maytag denies there is a problem.

Maytag washer was bought May 2010 with an extended warranty, which expired May 2014. This machine was used by two people with average wash loads. Five months later the machine computer programming didnt work and the machine sounded like a jet taking off. Whirlpool said a one-year warranty would cost $329! This would have been less expensive than a new machine, but I felt I couldnt trust having it repaired. A repairman very familiar with Maytag products said he had three service calls the same day with similar complaints for the Bravos 300 series. He told me the bearings were bad and the cost to fix was not worth the money and this machine should have been recalled. I bought another brand and will not buy Maytag again. When my new machine was delivered, there was grease on the floor from the Maytag.

The control panel of our Maytag dishwasher stopped working when it was approximately 14 months old. We repaired it ourselves by following a reset directions we found online (push rinse button 5 times and then the cancel button twice). Also we cut the power to reset. Im not sure which of those two tasks reset it, but it worked until last week - now 28 months old. We are not able to reset the panel using any information that we can find. In trying to find repair options, we discover that there are a lot of complaints about the Maytag dishwashers control panels not working within just a couple of years. In speaking with Maytag, they tell me theres a class action law suit for this problem - meaning they do realize there is an obvious problem with their control panels, but are not acknowledging they have any responsibility to repair it. The law suit only covers the cost of the part but not the labor. The labor can cost between $100 - at the lowest - and up. Our Maytag dishwasher model # is MDB8949SAM1. Also noteworthy, our Maytag clothes washer gave out at less than 5 years. Maytag is no longer the company we all thought they were. Additionally, their faulty machines are costing their customers a lot of extra money. Not exactly what I would call a company with good customer service or even any ethics. We will never buy Maytag again.

About 6 years ago we purchased a new french door style refrigerator. It lasted one year and one month then needed over $700 in repairs. First you need to know I am into electronics, DeVry graduate with 30+ years experience in repairing electronic devices. The Maytag basically frosted over in the freezer and was warm in the upper part of the fridge. I called a friend who had experience fixing fridges and lo and behold we found something really unusual. The way this machine operates is by blowing the cold air from the freezer up into the fridge. There is a fan located in the back of the freezer wall that does this. We found the fan, which was mounted in a grey box, spinning at about 2 revolutions a minute. My friend took me to the wholesale parts distributor he uses and we gave them the brand (Maytag) model (MFD2561HES) and they gave us a fan... just a fan with two wires. No grey box with fan inside... At this point I got curious, I mean WTF?!?The grey box was made not to be opened and I had to get clever so as to not damage whatever was inside it. After getting it open I discovered the fan inside was wired to a circuit board which upon inspection was a timing circuit. This is why the fan still turned only too slow to function. The new fan was installed and my only problem with the fridge now is the ice maker, which I disconnected. Conclusion: Maytag actually designed this fridge to break down and require hundreds of dollars of repairs AFTER the warranty expired by installing a timing circuit that disables the fan that drives the cool air to the upper part of the fridge to keep your food cold and your freezer frost free. Replace the grey box with a normal fan and youll get years of good use out of your French Door Maytag! As long as you clean the seals regularly and dont mind buying ice to fill the tray with... The repair cost me $39 and a six pack of beer for my friend.

After seeing all the bad reviews about Maytag I decided to write my review, we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 1990 when moving into our new home, and we still have the same set. Now it does not have a motherboard which I feel today is the major problem with most appliances. Get away from the motherboards. The dryer belt wore out on the dryer but that was an easy replacement. Im a woman of 64 and get it myself. Maytag Bravos MCT washer not good - Owned this since June 2017. This thing has never worked properly. Every time after a cycle is complete we have to wring the soaked clothes by hand. Even after doing this the drying time ends up being double what it should be because the clothes are so wet. Not only time wasted on hand wringing clothes but also wasted energy in drying them afterwards. Also this thing is supposed to auto-detect how much water it should use but half of the time it uses too little water and doesn’t actually wash all of the clothes. We bought a new Maytag dishwasher MDB7609 as part of the 2010 recall. Within the first twelve months the black skirt at the bottom of the door collapsed to the floor. It was in small pieces and brittle as though exposed to excess heat. The repairman fixed it free but made the point it was not covered under warranty. Next the heated dry cycle baked the water onto the dishes forming a white crusty layer. We have a water softener that works very well. We stopped using heated dry because it is too hot. Last night before bed, I was standing in the kitchen and I smelled something burning. My wife had mistakenly programmed heated dry into the cycle. Obviously this dishwasher is as much a fire hazard as the one it replaced but no recall has been issued yet.

Apparently the Maytag Bravos HE top loading washer is poorly designed. We have sparingly used this washer for approx 3 years and it began to make a horrible noise in the spin cycle and then to give us UL error codes. After searching on the internet we discovered that the seal around the main spin shaft and the bearings were bad. Inspection under the machine revealed a terrible rust and grease spot and splatters of rust and grease on underside of unit. This is a typical problem and this machine should have been recalled or at the very least repaired by Maytag for little if any cost. They now make a kit to fix this problem, but this should not happen after only 2-4 years of use on a $700+ machine. Very, very disappointed with Maytag! Customer service, of course, offered us nothing as pathetic 1 year warranty was expired. Ten year on the tub, like anything will go wrong with that.

Maytag dryer MEDC215EW - This dryer does not dry the clothes without many wrinkles. Sheets just ball up with the inner sheet a mass of wrinkles. Small loads just flop from top to the bottom of the dryer, falling in clumps. I have gone back to having to ironing. Very disturbing!!! I would not recommend this dryer to anyone.

First off, the drum split apart on the dryer. The drum part was not in this country, so instead of going ahead and replacing the clothes dryer, they told me to hang the clothes outside for six weeks or whenever the part comes in. That was three months after owning the piece of junk. I was having a bad day already, so I basically completely lost it. Im surprised I didnt get arrested for that. I wont ever lose my temper like that again. The clothes always smell bad, and sometimes really bad. Now, I find out that both washer and dryer could cause a fire. They are sending us a couple of really cheap GFCIs to keep them from a liability issue. Maytag is the absolute worst!

I have a 26 cu. ft. side by side Model MZD2665HES, like most folks in my neighborhood (spec homes). The icemaker died and service was called. They looked at solenoid, and replaced the ice maker assembly as a wag that it was the problem.. still no ice, but the water was still able to be called. I replaced filter- still water only, no ice. Little did we know it was the filler tube blocked with ice, and the service man didnt once suggest turning off the water service. SO, every time water was called to either make ice or to fill a cup with, it put intense pressure on the point of assembly where the water line comes into the fridge (water inlet tube). A pin hole developed in the little plastic bit (water inlet tube plate) and every time the water was called to ice, guess what happened - it shot right out the back on drywall.Almost $20,000 dollars worth of damage to wood floor (warped), drywall (jello), and flooring (carpet) ensued. Mold was all over and had to be contained and treated for days to be fixed. Im still duking it out with service repairman and insurance companies. My advise: If you have this fridge or anything like it and the ice maker stops working, IMMEDIATELY shut down the water supply, turn the fridge off and check the filler tube in the back for ice blockage. Probably a good idea to pull the fridge forward once in a while and check the back for water also.

Bought this washer and dryer 3 1/2 years ago mainly because of Maytag name and reputation. They were very expensive to purchase. The washer is a piece of junk 3 1/2 years old used for my wife and I and leaks oil all over the floor. Called repair man to come and look at it, wasnt here 5 minutes said transmission is shot. Cost over $400 to have it repaired. We are junking it and that will be the last Maytag product I ever own.

I purchased this five-burner gas stove two years ago. I have this stove repaired three times. The first and second problem with the stove is when I turned on the oven, it would never click on. This was a month after I purchased the stove. They sent someone over to correct the problem and that did not work. The third time someone came. He changed something in the oven and it started to work. After that, I continue to have trouble with the oven. When I have the top eyes on, the oven will not work. When I only turn on the oven, it will go to 350 only. It will cook for an half hour and then cut off. I smell gas in my house and my food is smelling like gas. I have stop using the oven. I did not purchase a stove to not use the oven. This is totally ridiculous!!! I am tired of this situation. Maytag needs to recall these ovens, so I can purchase an oven that works. I have thrown food away because it smells like gas - because the oven will cut off in the middle of cooking. I am very tired of this situation and when you call Maytag, their customer service is terrible. I will never buy Maytags products again. Please help.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos line washer model # mvwx500xwo back in Oct. of 2010 thinking that it would be great to save money on the water bill. I first had issues with it putting holes in my clothes. I then found out if you do not zip up all zippers and button all buttons, the machine will rip them up due to the high speed spin cycles. Now, the washer will not fill with water or start the wash cycle. I mean really, its less than two years old and I have to shell two hundred plus dollars to fix a washer that only cost $500. I guess I know what brand not to shop for next.

I purchased the matching Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2010 at Lowes. I
I purchased the matching Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2010 at Lowes. I also purchased the extended warranty to have coverage for 4 years after purchase date. I noticed the dryer sensor is not very accurate. The purpose of the sensor is to detect when clothes are dry and then end the drying cycle automatically. However, it fails in both ways. When the dryer stops on its own, the clothes are still damp. I have the setting on NORMAL>LOW HEAT>NORMAL DRYNESS (the reason for the low heat is not to fade/shrink clothes) and even though the heat is on low, it should still keep running until the clothes are dry. So when I open the door and feel the clothes, they are still damp; I turn it back on to run again. If I dont check on it every 10 minutes, the dryer just keeps running and the clothes are bone dry. The sensor should detect this. Once, I decided to test it to see how long it would run with dry clothes and it ran for an HOUR before it shut off. Talk about a waste of electricity. The washer also has issues. First is the SHEETS setting. This setting is supposed to prevent sheets from tangling/balling up. Every time I use the sheets setting, my washer stops with the UL error - uneven load. Meaning, I have to babysit the washer because otherwise, it will stop and wait until I pull out the sheets and loosen them up. I am only washing 1 fitted full size sheet, 2 flat full size sheets, and 4 pillow cases. The reason I bought this machine was because it is supposed to handle king size bedding. Apparently, this washer cannot even handle full size bedding and I refuse to wash each item individually - the machine is supposed to save energy, not require extra loads. The second issue I am having, which resulted in me calling to utilize my extended warranty, is tiny rust dots on my clothes! About 3 months ago, I noticed one of my t-shirts had 4 tan spots smaller than the size of a dime. I assumed I spilled something on myself. About a month later, I noticed it was on another top. Then I assumed it was something on the back of my chair at work causing the spots. It seems to happen every couple of weeks because another article of clothing had these mysterious dots on them. Once, it appeared on my towels and sheets. I realized it was not me spilling anything on myself, nor was it from anything on my chairs. Now, I wasnt sure whether it was the washer or dryer, but I noticed when I pulled out a white sweater from the washer, there were 3 dots on it in the front, and I definitely would have noticed these before, which is how I came to the conclusion it’s from the washer. I cannot see any rust inside of the washer basket so I dont know where its coming from, but I am certain it is not from other articles of clothing (such as zippers or snaps); and the reason I know this is because I do not wash towels with clothes and also, I am 8 months pregnant and have been wearing maternity clothes for the past 5 months and they do NOT contain any zippers or snaps. I took pictures of the rust stains on various items and combined to 1 image. Now, I called my extended warranty to have a service technician come assess these three problems. Well see what happens.

I have been a Maytag customer for many, many years. In November, 2014 we decided to buy a new matching pair. No problems with dryer but the washer has been a nightmare from day one. Have had at least 5 service calls (lost count). The washer constantly smells. Clothes are not clean. Have to buy and run Affresh tablets weekly. Spend more on wash machine cleaner than laundry detergent. Funny thing is Maytag/Whirlpool makes the expensive cleaning tablets. The customer service at Maytag has not been helpful from day one. They recommended I buy an $150.00 extended warranty. Stupidly I agreed and regret doing it. They still have not fix the machine under the one year original warranty. NEVER BUY A MAYTAG BRAVOS WASHER.

How can an extended warranty on a safety issue only be for one year? This is my first Maytag product and will be my last. We are extremely frustrated with this machine. It takes an extremely long time to go through the cycle, compared to past washing machines, even when it is working. It rarely completes the cycle and often goes back to wash and stops. We have no way of knowing if it washed or rinsed or what. To get it to finish, we have to turn the dial to drain and spin. The clothes always come out tightly twisted and tangled up and have to be untwisted and items pulled from each other....so they are extremely wrinkled! This is the first and last Maytag product we will ever buy. We HATE it!!! I would say it has been a lemon from day one but Home Hardware was no help when we complained. I also am the unfortunate owner of a Maytag dishwasher Quiet Series 300. I bought it in April 2006. The control panel has been a problem since the first year of operation. Typically, one of the indicator lights would randomly go on and off during the machines off mode. At other times, the control panel would not operate. However, if I waited a few hours, it would dry out, enough and then would operate. Apparently, steam leaks into the control panel and causes it to be erratic. This has been a problem with this design for many years and the Maytag Corporation has not cared enough about its customers to correct the design flaw. I remember when the name Maytag indicated a top of the line product. Sadly, this is no longer the case. As a result, my loyalty to them has ceased.I probably will not buy another Maytag product again. Their standards have eroded.

Bought a Maytag MVWX655DW top loader clothes washer from Best Buy on 7-7-2020 it was delivered as promised on Friday 7-10-2020. The people who delivered it were very professional and nice. They did a great job installing it. My wife went to use it for the first time Saturday morning 7-11-2020. Luckily this washer had a see through door. We could not believe our eyes, it never put enough water in the tub to cover the clothes. So as we watched the clothes on top never participated in the wash, they just moved around. When it went to spin cycle it was making a loud clicking sound as it was shaking. So we tried different settings, after 3 loads I called BB and said I want to return it. This machine has been mislabeled, its not a clothes washer, its a noise maker at best. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. IT DOESNT WASH CLOTHES.

This is the second time a repairman has been out to work on the machine. The first time was to replace a bad water pump, which was when the machine was about six months old. Maytag would have you believe that Power and Durability Come Standard. So too, apparently, are visits from the repairman. To its credit it does a good job cleaning clothes - when its working. If youre going to buy this machine, I recommend purchasing an extended warranty - youre going to need it.

I bought this Maytag dishwasher model # MDB7749SBM2 and of course it ran great until the warranty was up and then the touch pad started acting up where if you would press normal every other thing would light up. I replaced the keypad and then the controller and its working at this point again. The keypad ribbon cable had a big burn mark in it and by all these complaints it seems like an issue Maytag has and does not want to address. Luckily I work on electrical and was able to do this myself and I had no labor but over $300.00 in parts. What upsets me is I bought because of the reputation and the Made in America on it and it was replacing a 20 yr old Kenmore that was still working great when I took it out. With all the complaints about the same issue Maytag which is Whirlpool would step up to the plate and fix this. No more Maytags/Whirlpool for me again.

We had Maytag brand washer and dryers in the past. They worked for years and I was able to repair or replace switches and some parts on my own. The new Bravos XL is a very inferior machine, nothing but problems. The clothes have to be washed two or more times to make them clean. There is no agitator, so your clothes have only other clothes to scrub up against, and the spin cycle is just thumping and banging and thrashing around until you’re able to get in and rescue it from itself. Our older machines had tiny steel shot in the rim of the machine to keep it balanced. Don’t buy this machine ever!!!

Im have finally given up and purchased a replacement for my Maytag Bravos XL Top Loading High Efficiency Washer! The Maytag was 2 years old and I have ALWAYS had trouble with it. My towels became sour after 1 or 2 uses (sometimes they smell sour even before use!). My dark clothes ALWAYS came out of the wash LOADED with lint. I researched online to determine whether these were common problems and found several sites with suggestions such as: dont use more than 1-2 spoons full of high efficiency detergent (which recommendation I followed), Use white vinegar or liquid fabric softener. (I tried both with only minimal results.) ALSO use a dryer sheet in the dryer (I did this but it seemed like a waste since I was already using fabric softener in the washer). Dont overload the washer. (I didnt, but if I couldnt fill it, then why did I buy a washer with such a large tub ?!) Clean the washer monthly. (I faithfully did so, and tried alternating Affresh and bleach to see if theres any difference in the result... not really. Make sure you are fully drying the towels (I ALWAYS DID!).We had a Sears repair technician come to the house the last time my frustration level was overflowing and she only made me feel like an idiot, repeating some of the above recommendations and insisting they would solve the problem -- which, if they had worked, would have precluded my need to call a repair technician!!! The repair technician provided no other service or ideas to fix the problems. My husband decided we should go back to the tried and true agitator-type washer... bye-bye, Maytag Bravos.

I purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range in July 2006. Rust has appeared on the bottom of both oven doors. I called Maytag customer service, realizing that my range was no longer covered by warranty. However, I feel the paint on a range, costing over $1,000, should last longer than 5 years. Customer service told me to call a repair technician. When I asked who would pay for this service call, they didnt even bother to respond to me. As I have read other reviews of dissatisfied Maytag Range owners, Im glad I didnt waste money calling a repair tech who would do nothing to help, but charge a $100 plus fee. The paint on a car, which is subjected to all kinds of weather, lasts much longer than 5 years. You would think the paint on an appliance inside a home should last much longer. This rust is becoming very unsightly. I will certainly not purchase a Maytag product again, as the company has proved they do not stand behind their product line.

I bought the largest Maytag top load washer. From day 1 clothes come out with laundry detergent left all over them. I have to take a washcloth and wash off every piece of clothing coming out of the washer. Had a technician come out. He said he gets this complaint every day. His suggestion, put less clothes in and use less detergent. This washer is programmed to use minimal water and it just doesn’t have enough water to clean all the detergent off. So, I bought the biggest washer to wash bigger loads and now you are telling me that just doesn’t work.Spoke with Maytag customer service. They said very rudely if there is no problem found when the technician came out, there is nothing they will do. She told me it was user error. My dryer also stopped working. Sometimes it would turn on, sometimes not. The technician said the lint screen error code came up. He would try to get Maytag to replace the whole board but usually they don’t do that unless the whole board has a problem. Called Maytag the next day. The technician documented he fixed a connection problem and closed the ticket. What???? So, now I guess I need to schedule another service visit. Very unhappy with 5 month old appliances. Paid $1700 for the pair, you expect quality products.

I purchased My Maytag Washer and Dryer set from Lowe's, which was a very good experience all the way, back in June 2017. After two years I can finally give an honest review. We love this set even though it is not as quiet as the old Maytag washers. Still is but not as. We have not had one bit of trouble from either the washer or dryer. The next size larger would have been the better choice for us since we now have king size bedspreads to wash. It still does the job though, just one piece at a time. A lot of people complain about the smaller amount of water used but it still cleans clothes quite well. If you need more water just use deep water wash or for even more water use the setting for bulky sheets which really fills up the water level.

Constantly does not clean clothes, always out of balance, codes constantly come up, only 2 1/2 years old and already rusting out. No matter what you do this washer does not want to work. Has special cycles for bulky loads but try to wash 7 towels and it will dance all over floor then shut down with an unbalanced code and you have to unplug to reset then wash towels again but not use spin and have to wring out towels by hand. I cannot believe the Maytag company has not recalled this very expensive pile of junk, and their service department is very rude and not helpful at all. Also as soon as you call an appliance repair company and tell them its a Maytag Bravos they say we do not fix those, do yourself a favor and junk it and buy any other brand. I have 3 kids now grown so we have bought about 5 washers over the years and when we saw that this was supposed to save water and energy and do bigger loads we were sold. Big mistake! In October of 2011, I purchased a $1,199 Maytag Bravos Washing Machine. It recently started making a really loud noise during the spin cycle (REALLY loud). I had a local appliance repair guy come and he told me the main tub bearings are bad, sealer is defective and that it would not be cost effective to fix it.I called Maytag and they offered to sell me another one for $839. I am very dissatisfied that I only got 4 years out of a $1,199 machine!!! Ridiculous!! I wouldnt mind a minor repair that cost a few hundred to fix... I get that. But for it to be junk in 4 years... I have a hard time with that for the price. My appliance guy said it was junk when I bought it. Year ago, you got 15 to 20 years out of a good washing machine. Now... I buy a high end machine and it lasts 4 years. And why would I spend another $839 for the same piece of junk!!! That would be throwing good money after bad. It is not going to happen. I promised Maytag that I would post as many reviews about their product as possible... so everyone can know that they make a lousy, defective product and charge a very high price for something that will not last. Dont buy it!!
