On December 22, 2013 I purchased a Maytag front loading washer Model # MHWEE201YW00 from The Home Depot. On July 28 the bearing failed and greased my clothes and rendered the washer unusable. On August 1st I contacted the Maytag Customer Service Line; the wait for contact was approximately 20 minutes, not a very good answer time and unfortunately the best I would receive during this process. Despite the wait, I received good response and had a service call set up for Wednesday August 6th.On Wednesday August 6th, a service technician from Quaker City Appliances took a look at our washer and determined that the bearings had failed and that the entire drum assembly would need to be replaced. He stated that anytime the bearings fail this soon, it typically means that the bearings weren’t pressed properly or the drum wasn’t tightened enough and that he would order the parts as soon as he got back to the office. On Friday August 8th, a representative from Quaker City Appliances called and notified us that the part was no longer available and instructed my wife to call Whirlpool Customer Service and give them this number **, to coordinate a replacement washer. I called later that afternoon and spent over an hour waiting and was transferred between departments. The first representative was very cordial and professional; the second who I believe was from the Tech-line was anything but. In my career I have held responsibility for customer service and while there are many golden rules, one of the most important was never to tell the customer “I can’t”, well Cheyenne (I believe that was her name) couldn’t help me with anything and clearly told me so. She explained that my problem was referred to the Trade Partners and I needed to call back to Quaker City Appliances on Monday. On Monday August 11th, I called Quaker City Appliances, who promptly informed me that the matter was turned over to Whirlpool and I need to contact them as there was nothing else that could be done. Later that day I called back to customer service, again waiting between two representatives at least an hour. I was informed that my matter was with the Trade Partners and that I will need to wait one to two days for a phone call. A phone call that never came…..Yesterday August 14th, I contacted Whirlpool customer service, again waiting over twenty-five minutes for the first contact, and then was eventually handed over to the tech line and another wait. Eventually, I spoke to a very pleasant representative who gave me the Trade Partner number and transferred me, unfortunately I was disconnected. I called back and found out that the office closed at 5:00. Today I called the Trade Partner line (1-800-874-4698) at about 3:30 and after 40 minutes I have given up and decided to write this letter. All I want is a functioning washing machine.

I have just joined the open and close the door Maytag Club. Purchased four Maytag products on Black Friday 2017 as I always trusted Maytag. Only disappointed to have my microwave (MMV4205D-4) come down with the virus (open & close door) that has plagued so many unsuspected owners. Almost made its 1st year anniversary. Now I see this has been going on for years and all they do is add different model numbers at the end. Luckily Im in the 1 year warranty and repairman coming next week. Now I question if I should take the extended warranty as I see this is going to happen again down the road. And will the extended warranty cover it? Guess the Maytag repairman isnt sitting and waiting for repair call anymore. He is being kept busy!

We bought a Maytag Refrigerator, Model MSB27C2XAMSS from BrandsMart on 2/4/2015. Today, I made my 4th Service Call for the Ice Maker not making ice. The service department has replaced the icemaker, repaired it and still does not work. When I call for service I usually have to wait 5-7 days before I can have a technician come to my home. Also, the refrigerator door does not close unless you push it completely to the refrigerator, unlike most refrigerators that I have had. I would never buy another Maytag refrigerator and certainly will make an informed and researched decision before buying another refrigerator. I am truly dissatisfied with this refrigerator and would suggest looking for other brands.

We received our new Maytag French door refrigerator today via delivery and got everything set up and magnets stick to the front. The last I checked magnets should not stick to stainless steel. So I called the Menards where we purchased the refrigerator almost 2 1/2 weeks ago and the store manager said there was metal liner under the stainless steel and states this on the technical specifications. And everywhere I went to look under the technical specifications NOWHERE does it state there is a metal liner underneath and even if there was the top is stainless steel regardless so why would magnets stick to it. I paid for a Maytag and basically got a cheap piece of crap Frigidaire or Whirlpool and paid extra for Maytag to stick a Maytag label on it. What a joke. If I have any other problems I will personally deliver this refrigerator to Maytag/whirlpool corporate and put it on the front step. I am VERY ANGRY!!

Do NOT purchase a Maytag dishwasher. What happened to the Maytag repairman being so lonely. Now he has lots of company in the way of angry consumers. Purchased a Maytag dishwasher and less than a year later the control panel failed. It was still under warranty but the service person just tweaked it instead of replacing it. Now, less than a year later it has failed and will cost over $200 to replace and repair. This is disgusting.

This is the second Maytag appliance in less than 5 years to stop working. The first was a dishwasher. I got 14 months use out of before the control panel burned out. Fixed it for $125 only to have it happen again in 6 months and repair company said parts are only 3 months warranty. Cost me $5 to bring to landfill. Now the matching Refrigerator is making a loud humming noise and Ive been told its the compressor.

This Maytag (1979 model) is about as good as other dishwashers (I always rinse before placing in machine). It does have a lot more buttons that are not used than the last one I used (installed in the 1950s). Delayed start, choice of preheating water or not, choice of drying. Not big enough to do everything when have company and too big to use when no visitors present. When I am alone it takes 3 months to get enough to fill the machine and by that time they are getting moldy so most of the time I wash by hand. Black glass front with imposing row of controls across the top. I normally do not generate enough dirty dishes to warrant having a dishwasher. Since my wife died I have used the dishwasher two to three times a year.

First I do like the fact that it spins at such a high speed that the water is mostly gone, and that is the good news. I do like that it uses less water but when washing any dark colored clothes there are dirt or scum like marks where the clothes may have been folded or twisted in knots which I also do not like. I have cleaned machine but this started when new. Drying doesnt get rid of those scum marks either. I never had this problem with my old full fill machine. I have used more detergent and less HE of course in both liquid and powder. Any suggestions?

Purchased a Maytag Centennial Washer from Lowes. This is the NOISIEST WASHER I HAVE EVER HAD. Self Balancing, pretty much the way it is, YOU lift that heavy wet laundry and re-arrange to balance. It just slams around even moving the washer, until you do. This washer also doubles as a BLENDER. It SHREDS laundry. The agitator does not go all the way down and thus, clothing, towels, rugs... get stuck under the agitator, wind around and RIP. Have had hundreds of dollars worth of laundry shredded such as: shirts, towels, new rugs and it even ripped the waist off a pair of my jeans! The other laundry gets tied up on the stuck laundry and you end up with a twisted, ripped, tied up Laundry Ball. It will not wash or rinse well when it does this, naturally. Lowes: The salesman knew about all this, and sold it anyway! He had one and got rid of it. Gee thanks Lowes and Maytag, for the worst washer I have ever had the misfortune of owning.

I have a basic Maytag dishwasher circa 2012. Not sure of the model number. It works well, no fancy features but everything you really need is there. My only real complaint is that the heat dry cycle always seems to leave the dishes a little wet, but thats common enough for dishwashers. It cleans nicely and hasnt had any issues or breaks in 3+ years. Basic. Three wash cycles (light, normal, heavy); Extra rinse option, extra hot option, and heat dry or eco-dry (i.e. no dry). Nice big rinse aid dispenser. Its not that roomy inside. Id say the size is average. It looks nice - its white and unobtrusive. It works really well with Cascade dish pods. The bottom rack is kind of a pain if your plates are curved more than usual.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot on 5/17/11. It would run, then not run. It spoiled all the food not in the freezer and most of the food in the freezer. This happened early November, being less than six months old. My wife called on 11/8/11, they repaired it on 11/18/11. Ten days of no refrigerator and a lost of about $200 in spoiled food. The company would not pay for any of the money I lost for the spoiled food!

We are on our 2nd Bravos XL. The first washer lasted 6 years and there was a part going out that kept making it stop in the process. Basically the repair guy said it will just go out one day so it was up to us to repair or replace the machine. The machine didn’t have an agitator and we had been having issues with white residue on the clothes for a long time but thought it was related to the other part. So we bought a new one, with an agitator. It was the new model. We’ve had it around 6 months and we have lots of issues with the white residue. The only success we have with not getting white residue on darks is using deep fill and very little detergent. We use powder because the liquid makes dark spots on our dark clothes. So either way, there’s a problem. So we are using a lot of water when it’s supposed to be water saving. And we are using much less detergent that the company says. I think it’s the machine that has problems. I’ve read a long thread on Facebook and it appears that Maytag tells you to use Affresh regularly. It also says to follow their instructions. But everyone seems to follow instructions but Maytag takes no responsibility for their product. Makes me sad because Maytag was the best on the market at one time and we will never buy again. Our dryer works fine but the washer sucks. And that was a lot of money that I paid. I hope that Maytag decides to make it right and help their “customers” enjoy their products once again.

I bought a model MDB7749AWW1 Maytag dishwasher in May 2011. I thought I was getting a nice one, but no one really liked the way the racks were designed after we got it installed and began using it. My biggest complaint however is with the control panel. It failed in November 2011 and was replaced under warranty. It has now failed a second time in June 2012 (just over one year old and out of warranty). Theyve offered to pay for the parts since it is so close to one year and I pay labor. Well see how that goes. Looks like there are lots of problems with Maytag control panels.

Recently May 2019, bought a Maytag Bravos Washer, HE. Its now installed and so disappointed with this product. Not enough water to wash Clothes. Would of taken cashback from Maytag, but cant wait 6 to 8 weeks for cashback. 6 to 8 weeks after they have washer picked up. How long did we want to go without clean clothes, hummm. Problem was looked at by a professional appliance repair company sent by Maytag. His opinion, suggestion was, washer just didnt deliver enough water to wash clothes. I know its HE, suppose to me water miser, but Maytag Bravos just doesnt give enough WATER. How do we get clean cloth like that. As I mentioned in summary, I have added attachment close proximity to add water to washer raising water level to wash Cloth. Yes with proper water it does clean good, JUST NOT A AUTOMATIC WASHER now. Were only two, Rural NB, up to 3-4 washes per week, more when company around.

Im furious beyond belief with Maytag. Im furious at myself for being stupid
Im furious beyond belief with Maytag. Im furious at myself for being stupid enough to purchase all new Maytag appliances when I purchased this home as I had horrible experiences with them in my former home. This concerns the Maytag over the range microwave oven model MMV4205AA. First of all, within 6 or 7 months after purchasing it while cooking a frozen dinner, the turntable just cracked in half. Maytag wanted $89 to replace it. I knew when the turntable cracked that there were more issues to come. That is not normal in any way for that to occur in a microwave.Problems continued, of course, and with each call to Maytag, they would say the same thing the microwave is out of warranty and refused to assist me. Its not some little table top thing that one can just toss out and buy a new one. I paid about $400 for it from Home Depot. Last week, without it even being turned on, it just stopped working. I checked the electrical supply and conduit to make sure that was okay. I called numerous service organizations who told me this sudden breakdown when the microwave isnt even turned on is a known issue with this model and several other Maytag over the range models. Ive called them (Maytag) three times in the last week and they refuse to provide any allowance and hear the same old thing, the microwave is out of warranty. I was willing to have them even just provide some assistance rather than replace the microwave. Ive been told by numerous service organizations that this is a known issue and that even if they repair it, it will occur again and again and Im best off purchasing a different brand, which I cannot afford. They gave me phone numbers for service organizations authorized to service Maytag products and this just goes to show how out of touch they are. They gave me one that isnt even in business anymore. How professional, not!Warning: Purchase Maytag at your own risk. I give you fair warning. Every single Maytag product Ive ever owned has been a problem. I will never, ever, ever purchase another Maytag product again. I would think just out of decent customer relations, that theyd repair this issue. To be honest, I dont really trust a repair as Ive been told it will happen again and again. There was no notice that the microwave was breaking down either. It wasnt turned on. One day, I went to use it and it just wouldnt work. Actually, I went to use the timer on it and thats how I found out it was dust. My advice is stay away from Maytag. If you read reports, there are more complaints on Maytag than any other appliance manufacturer in existence. Not only on their products, but their customer service too.

I bought my first Maytag French Door fridge about 7 years ago. When it was two it started running water on the floor. I paid a service guy to tell me a tiny little drain in the back clogged up and stopped coil defrost water from draining out. He fixed it. A year later, the fridge stopped cooling but the freezer was cold. I hired another service man who charged me a mint to diagnose that a fan that blows cold air up into the refrigerator failed. Rather than pay him again, I ordered the part. Heres the joke--the part wasnt available. An older part was substituted. Why? The first fan motor was small to make the energy start requirements--but it was too weak to be reliable. The new motor was an earlier model--almost twice as large and powerful. So much for Energy Start. At exactly 5 years and six months, the compressor went out. Im on year two with the new one. I said to myself they cant all be that bad. Now it is leaking on the floor. I have to disassemble the freezer, remove the inner wall, defrost the coils and clean out the drain hole. Wouldnt smart engineers make an easy way to do that from the back? Seems simple.

Bought new washer and dryer from Home Depot. The worst washer and dryer I ever bought. Own 11 house all have washer and dryers. Bought Maytag on brand reputation. Washer does not rinse close at all. They come out full of lint and soap. It rips sheets up. Takes like 70-90 minutes to wash and close have to be washed over cause they dont rinse out. Dryer takes (2) runs to dry. Depot said they couldnt take them back. $300 Roper washer and dryer work much better than these units I paid like $1100.00 for. Maytag reputation is **. I have Amana front loads in another house that wash in 29 minutes and they come out perfect. Amana dryer works great also. MDB7749AWM1 more Maytag corporate garbage! I bought this dishwasher since my last one, Whirlpool, gave out at three years (garbage motor from Korea) thinking this would be a quality product made in USA. Well after about 6 months into usage and under warranty, the circuit board went out! The repairman assured my wife that it was rare to replace it on a Maytag. Now 9 months later, out of warranty, the circuit board goes out again! I know what it is, I can fix it, but will Maytag work on fixing to get a better circuit board? No! The US government is a puppet to all these companies that keep getting bigger and fatter! I say buy foreign products! Enough of these fat companies buy the competition out and giving the US public no option. Preston E. Tucker said it best: You let the big guys push the little guys out of the game and you will end up with garbage for products! Do yourselves a favor, buy Bosch, LG or Samsung. I know their products are not better but just maybe, someone in these corporate offices will see that to sell in the USA, you have to sell quality again!

I’ve had to wash sheets two or three times to get them clean and wet. When washing jeans there is always lint and white debris on them when the wash cycle is done. I’ve tried all different settings, I’ve tried different detergents always the same problem. Wish I’d never laid eyes on this model at Lowe’s last summer. I bought all new Maytag appliances for a new house built 2 years ago. The oven fan, while in warranty, began coming on in the middle of the night. It would turn on, cancel, began not working, and then the ticking noise began. Maytag sent 5 different service people out, sometimes without the part. We are afraid to use it now and have turned off the breaker for it. Now, it is turning itself back on again. Maytag says we must now pay for any repairs/service calls as it is out of warranty. It was not out of warranty when all these troubles began.I called Maytag customer service today and could not have talked to a less customer friendly person. She didnt care that it was in warranty when the trouble began. It is out now and is our problem. There is no one else but her we can talk to about it. She is the decision maker. Purchased a Maytag Atlantis washer at Lowes in 2004. Until recently it work
Purchased a Maytag Atlantis washer at Lowes in 2004. Until recently it worked without any problems; however, the agitator never seemed to work quite right. Normally, an agitator rotates in such a way that the auger action of the vanes pulls the clothes in toward the middle and then down into the water such that you have a continuous cycle of clothing being pulled down the middle, agitated at the bottom, then pushed up the outside. This one agitated but the clothing would just go round and round in the tub. Everything managed to get clean enough, but clearly something was amiss. Recently, the spin cycle became loud. A rumble became a loud roar over the course of a few cycles. Then I noticed water on the floor coming from under the washer. The short story is that the center shaft seals had just worn out. After almost 12 years of use, thats not surprising. Whats surprising is that it had worked so long without any issues other than the agitator.I took it apart and, to my dismay, the water had gotten into everything so that some of the metal parts were hard to remove. After having determined what replacement parts were necessary, I ordered them, but then placed additional orders for parts that probably would wear out eventually. So I ended up doing a near-complete rebuild. Other than the difficulty of taking some of the parts apart, and removing/installing the tub springs, it was actually pretty easy. I have reassembled, and now it seems to work flawlessly... so far. About the agitator: I found that shims are used on the transmission shaft to adjust tension. Too much tension and the clothes just ride around the tub; like mine did. Too little tension probably results in the thing not agitating at all (I dont really know). Once the washer is apart its easy to set the tension (insert the shim washers) correctly. There is a clip that holds the shim washers in place on the shaft. It was really tight; somewhat difficult to remove. One of the shims wouldnt fit when I tried to reassemble. As it turned out, that was a good thing. My research on this model revealed the way to get the proper tension. My assessment is that whoever assembled this washer at Maytag (or whoever builds these) assembled it incorrectly! Another thing I found out - after I ordered/received parts, unfortunately - is that there are two types of tub/shaft seal sets for this washer. I ended up replacing the newer type seals with the older type. Everything fits, but I may be losing out on a newer, better design. Well see. Overall, I am very pleased and impressed with the longevity and reliability of the MAV9501EWW washer. I have had Kenmore and Whirlpool; neither of which was nearly as durable and reliable. I hope this is helpful to someone.

Bought this (Maytag Washer MVWB955FC1) on 1/8/18, was delivered late in January as it was on back-order. On 4/30/18, during a cycle, the washer made a pop sound. There was glass everywhere. The glass had shattered and exploded onto the floor and washer. The glass is on the inside of the drum and all over the clothes. Contacted Maytag and they sent out a repairman the next day. Repair said there is a point of impact indicated I dropped something on it. NOTHING was dropped on it. There is a point of impact, from the inside. The glass is pushed up and out indicating pressure from INSIDE the washer.Repairman says its not covered under warranty and that I had to pay for his time as well. He also said there are no known issues with this lid and washer. The lid is out of stock and wont be available for a while. I called Maytag and they gave me the same response, never heard of this.. and lid is out of stock. I found SEVERAL reviews/complaints in which, for the exact same model, this has happened to other people. This glass lid is dangerous and poses a serious safety risk to households that contain it. If they replace the lid, there is no guarantee this will not happen again. A child could walk by the washer and at any moment the glass lid could explode, send tiny shards of glass everywhere. I want a refund for this dangerous washer.

I researched gas ranges for a few months before choosing our Maytag gas range - it was on sale when we ordered it and it arrived within a couple of weeks. We wanted to buy local and were successful with price matching the sale price. I would recommend this range as it functions great and we totally love the larger oven door.

Shortly after having this appliance custom wired and installed into the kitchen cabinets above our gas range, we found that the microwave no longer worked. The window where the digital clock shows the time instead Showed SE. I hit the clear button and the microwave once again worked. This happened again on many occasions and the clear button corrected this malfunction. Now this has happened once again but nothing Ive attempted clears the System Error or reboots the microwaves brain. Ive contacted many appliance repairmen but as soon as I mention Maytag they inform me not to repair the microwave as it costs more to repair than to replace. Ive attempted to purchase a new circuit board and repair it myself but no one has the part available. This appliance was purchased in April, 2009. Can anyone recommend a Microwave Brand as a replacement for this disappointment?

Dishwasher cleans well, but the control console has failed again & only responds to two functions. After replacing the console a couple of years ago with a new unit I thought it was done (it didnt get much use). Is there any recourse for this complaint? All I want is a new console panel. Maytags brand is apparently only good on the commercials. Very disappointing. Also, the top rack is very awkward & is only good for short glasses etc.

A lot of the reviews contain complaints about the Bravos XL MCT top load washer. We purchased one in December, 2015, and so far have not had any problems. We had a 3 yr old Whirlpool side loading washer that we just gave away, as it never got enough water to even dampen a comforter or quilt. This machine works very well, in spite of lower level of water. I was pleasantly surprised when I could see the water level with the first load! The controls are not as intuitive as other machines; e.g. spin only requires you to select Rinse/Spin cycle, and THEN turn OFF extra rinse. Perhaps the proper way is to have a Spin-Only cycle, and then tell the user to click the extra rinse ON. We do probably 1 load a day. Water bill has not been significantly higher than when we had the Whirlpool that hardly used any water. Today, though, a heavy quilt (it WAS distributed evenly around the impeller) was put on Bedding so the water level would be a bit higher to ensure the entire quilt was wet. Fine so far. However, during the Spin Cycle, the unbalance became so violent that the washer stopped for a few seconds and then went BACK to the Rinse cycle. It did this several times before we realized that the time remaining had not gone down in over 30 minutes. My guess was that the sensor believed that maybe some additional water with another Rinse cycle MIGHT even out the load. It didnt. I finally stopped the machine, redistributed the quilt and then ran the Rinse/Spin cycle, choosing NOT to do the extra rinse. All came out fine. There was NOTHING in the manual indicating that this might be needed, except for the instructions to Spin only. If I have any other problems, I will send here.

My husband bought me a brand new Bravo Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2010. In May of 2011, we moved and the dryer hookup was electric instead of gas. My husband knew how much I love the dryer, so he surprised me with another Bravo dryer to match the washer. We put the other dryer in storage and were happy with our purchase until April. In April 2012, the dryer stopped working. It wouldnt dry the clothes at all, and every time we tried to dry, the dryer was filled with wet lint. We were only a week away from moving again, so we waited until we got to the new house. The new house had gas hookups. So, we put the dryer that didnt work in storage and were thankful we didnt get rid of the other dryer. Now, just a few months later, the gas dryer isnt drying and is having the same issues as the electric dryer. How very disappointing! Both dryers are broken now, and it has only been 2 years. Each dryer has gotten about a year of use and then both quit. My husband, I and my two-year-old dont do that much laundry to break 2 dryers. My old GE washer and dryer lasted for years and is still working. We gave them to my husbands aunt who uses them and loves them. I agree someone should start a class action against Maytag. These issues are ridiculous!

This has to be the biggest joke in the world for the respected name of Maytag! The engineers that developed this worst-of-all machines on the market must have been circumcised with pinking shears. 80 minutes for a wash cycle? Even rapid wash takes an hour of slowly spinning and spinning ad nauseam with almost no water. The clothes sit in the same position even on the very brief agitation cycle... Nope, the clothes do not come out clean, although if you add bleach to the dispenser, since there is no water in the tank, the bleach does triple duty and rots the clothes. Is this masquerading as energy efficient when all of the cycles are an hour long, about? Unfortunately it takes water to clean clothes and the environ-lack-of-mentalists must have bribed Maytag to develop the worst washer on the planet. Absolutely!

We purchased a Neptune washer/dryer combination with pedestals a few years ago. The washer vibrates so violently that I had to block it between the dryer and wall to keep it from walking across the floor during the spin cycle. We had a technician come out, and he stated that the unit just needed to be balanced. The level I used showed the washer balanced in all 4 directions. Then he said I had to balance it with the machine running to stop the vibration. That didnt work either. I had previously installed vibration dampers and the technician told me that makes the vibration worse. When is someone going to file another class action lawsuit against Maytag, as there appears to be thousands of complaints for this same washer?

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher at Home Depot in Roanoke, TX on 07-14-2011. Model Number: MDB7749AWB2Serial Number: F12604431Unfortunately, Ive just been obliged to open my third service call on this new dishwasher. The first service call was made in August 2012, just outside of the first year warranty period to repair a wire which had come loose in the control panel, making the dishwasher inoperable. The second service call (May 2013) was to replace the front panel housing and touch pad which had broken off at the screw-mounts holding it on to the door. As the handle to open the dishwasher is part of the front panel (which must be pulled out pretty hard to open as it does not have a latching mechanism) screws set into unreinforced, thin, plastic posts holding the panel to the door seems like a serious design flaw. The third service call which I placed last week (August 2013) is to address the fact that the dishwasher has become completely inoperable with no lights on the front panel and is completely unresponsive. To say the least my experience with this product (and by extension the Maytag brand) has been a serious disappointment. I guess the reason I no longer see those TV commercials with the lonely Maytag repairman is because these days hes actually really busy fixing broken down ** Maytags. I will never, ever buy any Maytag or Maytag-family brand appliance ever again.

Maytag Bravos 300 Electric Dryer - Purchased dryer 2011 and a computer part went out and Maytag wants $418.66 for a computer part. This dryer was used only 6 months a year. Poor attitude about repairing from Maytag and they would not do anything to make us happy with product. A dryer that goes out in 3 years is robbery. Maytag should repair and make customers happy but they just dont care. Anyone who buys a Maytag or Whirlpool product should have their heads examined. I tried to talk sense to Maytag representative but to no avail. I am now going to make sure all of southern Indiana knows of my problem with this product. Those who know me know I have the ability to contact thousands of southern Indiana and Louisville residents.

Gave up a very good old washing machine to update to a newer one and so we got the Maytag bravos 300. I thought Maytag was a very dependable name and product. The warranty went out. 2 weeks later, the water pump went out. I had to pay to have it replaced. Then after that it started making noise that got louder and louder and now it sounds like a thrashing machine. And now it has started leaking water out of the bottom. So its going in the scrap pile. What a loss of money - the worst investment I have made. For what I paid for this machine, it should have lasted for many years to come. The washer I had before this Maytag I had for 16 years - no problems at and it still worked great when I gave it away. Maytag use to be a brand you could count on. Great craftsmanship has been taken away and monetary gain has taken over. I hope no one else has to go through this nightmare that I have. Maytag they should have to give peoples money back that we all worked hard for. Going with a LG now, hope its a good machine.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer at Lowe’s on sale spending almost $2000. Loved both of them until the washer stopped with a load of laundry in it. No power to unit. Called for service. Could not provide serial number as locked in washer. Service company able to order parts without the serial number but part put on back order. Washer needs a master board. After 1 week of wet laundry stuck in the washer called store manager at Lowe’s. I contacted Maytag Service and had a rude customer service clerk who finally listened to me after I got angry with her. She contacted the appliance repair company and got the back ordered part sent to the appliance repair company. We are now 10 days out. Still do not have the part; just talked to appliance repair company supervisor. The appliance repair company supervisor said he would schedule installation as soon as he had the part. It will probably be 14 days when I get the washer fixed. I am dreading opening the washer to get the load out that I will have to throw away. When I called for service at Lowe’s the representative said, We have had a lot of issues with this. A 2 month old new washer should not have the control board go out. Shame on Maytag.

Bought my Maytag washer and dryer as a set in Feb 2011...like many, I did not get the extended warranty, as I thought this was a great brand. Ive had nothing but problems with both. The dryer takes two rounds to dry, the lint filter is wet and rusted. The belt has popped off and needed to be put back on..The washer does not clean very well. Ive replaced the shift actuator because it was not spinning, now it sounds like a turbo jet taking off. And as of a week ago, my washer started leaking underneath. Paid a tech to come look at it and said my motor was done and Im better off buying a new washer and even recommended that I do Not buy Maytag! So I googled Maytag Bravos and seen all the poor reviews and realized I wasnt the only one! My set is 3 years old and its ridiculous that Ive had these issues, as so many has. We purchased a Bravo Maytag series top load washer from Sears in June 22nd 2013. See receipt for verification of sale. It seemed to be alright and we were hoping to be a lucky consumer, but now it is January 2015 and today I could smell smoke along with a weird smell (like an auto repair shop smell). I immediately was concerned about the entire house catching fire. Luckily I figured out the smell was coming from the washer and was able to pause it, stop, and then turn off. We are not happy. Our whole main level smells awful. And Im pregnant so this is probably not good to be inhaling. We are looking for recalls that may be out but weve only seen front load recalls not top loaders. When we bought this it had great reviews, but now it appears there are so many complaints, so my question is: Why isnt Maytag doing something about this massive problem?

We purchased our French Door, bottom freezer in April 2010 after a renovation. We have loved it besides needing more refrigerated space. This past weekend I noticed the appliance was cutting off and a few seconds later coming back on. It has an outside ice and water dispenser as well and the lights will blink on and off of course when the fridge cut off. Called for a repair and when the repairman called in the parts he was told he needed 2 computer boards. One was available however the other was discontinued and they would not allow him to just replace the one board. The fridge cost us $1798.00 from Home Depot. I cant believe how irresponsible Maytag is in this case. I have a kitchen full of MAYTAG appliances and have loved them all. But this is unacceptable. The Maytag fridge I had before was 16 years old. I gave it to a family member when we bought this one and that one just broke down last year so it was 21 years old! Whats up MAYTAG?

As I began to clean up the spill I noticed that some of the spill had gotten inside the door on the inside of the oven glass. To remove the stain would require disassembly of the door. I called Maytag and complained of what I called a design flaw and they said, No, its your fault for spills entering the door. We purchased the Maytag Atlantis used (4 years old); it looked like new. When I opened the lid, I noticed a terrible smell like some left the clothes in the washer for days. I used white vinegar, baking soda, bleach, anything to try and get rid of the smell. Nothing worked. Finally, my husband took out the agitator and then the drum. Inside and around the drum was lint from all the years of washing clothes. He scraped it all off and bleached it and put it back together and it was okay for a while. It now smells again and I am afraid we will have to keep doing this or our clothes will always smell. I also leave the lid open after a wash so Im not attacked by the smell when we open it. I also had the Maytag Neptune front loader years ago, and the water pooled by the gasket on the door. That smelled too! Worst customer service ever. I ordered my washer and dryer from home depot 2 weeks before a possible delivery day. The day before delivery I receive a call that they dont have them and I must wait 1 more week. After 3 phone calls I am promised a credit to my account. A week after delivery I am wondering where my credit I was promised is so I call. Im told the most I can be given is $100. I state that I feel my time is worth more than that. A supervisor is brought in and Im told we will get $150 credit. Then put on hold. She reviews account (why didnt you do this first) and told because we didnt call within 48 hrs of delivery the most they can give us is $75. So I call back very frustrated. Then Im told its our word against theirs that we were offered that?!? What?!? Well I am sure you record conversations and thats total BS. I explained how you cant offer something then take it back. I was told the week before I was getting a credit and my account already notated. No one said, Call within 48 hrs to dispute again to get it. Why would I have to I mean seriously. So after a total of at least 2hrs on the phone before and after delivery I am forced to settle with $75. I feel very unappreciated. I purchased and paid for $1633 worth of appliances that were a week later than promised. Called less than 24 hrs before expected delivery and told they dont even have them. Then told Im getting a credit of $150 to be told sorry now just $75. The lady proceeds to say that she doesnt think it was because of the phone call not being made. What? Are you serious. WELL THAT WAS THE LAME EXCUSE I WAS GIVEN SO I COULD CARE LESS IF IT WASNT THE REAL REASON. THAT JUST MEANS I WAS LIED TO. I promise I will never buy Maytag Whirlpool again. The ticking finally stopped after about 2 minutes. After the ticking stopped, we planned on going out for a walk. Fortunately we didnt. In about 10 minutes after the igniters quit ticking, the range burst into flames. Flames were in the top oven and shooting out the vent holes and the holes where the knobs are located. Coal black smoke was also pouring out of the vents. I quickly pulled the stove away from the wall to prevent the cabinets from starting on fire and I pulled the plug to shut off electricity from the stove. The flames subsided shortly after pulling the plug. The kitchen and house smelled of burning wire insulation and plastic. After doing some research on the internet, I found out that many other people have had the same problem. I reported this to Maytag Customer Service and they wanted to send a repair technician to fix it. I told them I didnt want it fixed but wanted it out of my house. I told them I didnt trust the range since some people reported they had it fixed and the fire occurred again. I wouldnt be able to sleep or go out anywhere knowing that the kitchen range could erupt into flames at any time. The factory authorized repair technician, from A&E, did come to inspect the damage and to report back to Maytag on his findings. He admitted that he wouldnt even trust the range in his house. After paying $1300 for this range and only getting 6 yrs. of use, I feel that we deserve some restitution from Maytag on this badly designed and dangerous piece of equipment they have been selling. Do not buy the Maytag Gemini range. This is a bad and dangerous product.

We bought a pair of Maytag Bravo MCT washer and dryer on May 30, 2011. On April 30th our dryer would not turn on. We called the Maytag service where we bought our machine, and were told it was a fried motherboard and would cost approx $600 parts plus labour. For a machine to last less than three years is very unreasonable. Maytag used to have such a good name. That is why we originally went for this brand. We were told by the service tech, that if we opted to buy a new replacement machine they would waive the service call charge. Is this how Maytag keeps selling units?? We bought the higher end units thinking that they would last 10+ years but now it seems Maytag has designed their machines that are disposable. Tisk tisk Maytag. No wonder your service men are lonely... Your sales staff are too busy reselling to loyal customers. Well, you have lost customer with us. We are going to Sears to buy a new dryer made by GE and will sell our Maytag washer on Craigslist and replace it with the matching washer from GE.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher April 6th, 2011. Its only 3 years old and now the control panel isnt working properly. Specifically, the start button. Contacted Maytag Customer Care service and they could not help me other than charging $80.00 for the Maytag Man.. which by the way, we arent suppose to see because of their superb quality in appliances. So I have a repairman scheduled for next week. I am an highly dissatisfied customer because the dishwasher is used once a week for the 3 years Ive owned it. Just a poor quality product which I will never purchase again. Model #MDB7609AWB3 Serial # F10202246.

Bought a Maytag French door refrigerator MFT2976AEM01 in August 2013. Started having problems before the refrigerator was a year old. I called to get it serviced and it took 4 months to get a repairman to check it out. He fixed one part and then ordered another part that he needed which took 3 months to get. After he replaced that part the refrigerator continued to have problems. The serviceman has been out to repair my unit 6 times so far. He has no confidence in the Service Engineers from Maytag. They recommended yet another part be replaced, however now Maytag will not cover the parts cost. They offered to let me buy a new fridge at a discount. After spending about $2700 in August 2013, I dont have the $ to spend again for a refrigerator. My refrigerator is so loud it has been waking me up for about a month now and I am sick and tired of it. Shame on Maytag for having such terrible customer service! I will never ever ever recommend a Maytag because this has been a nightmare!

MF12665XEM7 - Maytag Refrigerator purchased from Home Depot. We initially thought it to be a good value until it started leaking puddles of water onto the floor to the front sides of the bottom freezer drawer. This event repeated itself and I feared the water would seep between the floor tiles and begin to degrade the sub flooring or possibly cause mold as well. Upon further investigation of lying on my side and pulling the bottom drawer open, I felt, what I thought to be ice on the bottom of the refrigerators floor. I gently inserted a smooth butter knife and with a nudge, a whole sheet of ice about one half inch thick, lifted from the refrigerator floor. I have since had to repeat this about every three weeks or so. Im nearing retirement and shouldnt have to lay on my floor like this to protect my floor and to keep my wife and I from a potential hazard of a slip and fall from this water on the floor! Dependability People? Hardly! I think they got outsourced! Im disgusted! Thank you!

We bought a Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBH979AWS3) in January 2010. In April 2012, the control panel stopped working. A local repairman came out to see it for $160, diagnosed it, and suggested that we call Maytag to see if they would give us the part because it was only a two-year old machine. He did say that the control panel was not a part that was troublesome!Maytag offered an extended warranty for only $287 that would cover the part! The total repair cost was almost equal to the cost of a new machine. Home Depot, when consulted, acted as if they know nothing. After reading about other peoples experiences with this company, I feel that it is no longer an honorable company standing behind its products. In fact, the whole repair process is set up to rip off the consumer. We will now look to purchase the best and cheapest non-Maytag product, not from Home Depot, and throw it away when it gives out, which more than likely will be soon. These companies have finally convinced me to do what I am sure what they have always wanted every consumer to do. Throw it away when it breaks down.

My Maytag washer and dryer (5000 Series) is about 2 years old. Just as soon as the warranty ran out, I started getting F35 and suds error messages. Information found on the internet tells me that many Maytag customers have experienced the same problem. Whats up with this Maytag? Since many of your customers have experienced the same problems, are you willing to meet the consumer in the middle by repairing the product at no cost or are you building the appliances to last as long as the warranty?

So I read the reviews when I bought this Maytag Bravo Washer and figured stuff happens. We bought the top load Maytag Brava in 2013. We bought the Home Depot warranty, 2 years later the washer was leaking water. 5 repair visits and 3 attempts to fix the leak before it was repaired. As of 4-25-17 the wash machine displayed un-level errors and started vibrating with a thundering noise. Called out warranty repair and they stated we need new bearings. Repair is scheduled in 2 days and now the wash machine is thundering and spewing oil so it is shut off. 4 years old, and like the other complaints clothes come out with dry patches and not clean. This is a bad machine, we are saving for our next washer. It will have an old style spindle/agitator, no California efficiency and probably not Maytag.

I have to say I am terribly disappointed in the quality of my Maytag Side by Side Fridge/freezer and my Maytag stove. Having sold Maytag commercial washers and dryers to coin laundries for over 20 years I expected better. Needless to say..... these are Whirlpool machines with Maytag name plates. Not the Maytag quality that was produced in Newton, Iowa. You can tell these are plastic machines made in Mexico. Of course you still pay for the Maytag name just not the quality. I have always tried to buy from US companies, but my next appliances will not be as Whirlpool is the only US company left with exception to very high end products.

After having issues with bearings in a front load of another brand, we decided upon a top load Maytag. We have had it less than a year and we are not happy with the performance. We are using more detergent because the dispenser seems to be bottomless. Only the front of the little pull out drawer is visible and it never seems to reach the fill line when adding liquid detergent. There is no quick wash cycle. Not everything needs a cycle of nearly an hour or more. The spin cycle does not remove nearly as much dampness/water as our previous frontload. The drum is deep making it difficult to retrieve small items such as socks. My biggest disappointment is finding lint residue on the clothing and it remains even after an extra rinse. This is especially visible on dark clothing. Even the lint filter in our dryer fills up much more quickly than before. After researching, I found that others complained of this same problem.

I have a Maytag front load washer, and it has been flashing codes since day one, smells like mold, does not spin water out, and at first, all Maytag could say is, Im using too much soap, the wrong soap, loading too full, and I have it on a stand that is sold with the washer that they dont recommend, after I paid $300.00 for it. Now, it is flashing an E3 code, and will not finish a cycle at all. Maytag wants money to fix the problem that thousands of consumers have, after paying over $1,000 for the machine. I will never purchase another Maytag product, for as long as I live.

We bought a Maytag dishwasher on 9/22/2012. Model number MDB7759SAB. Within the past couple of months, it has been very temperamental. The control panel started beeping continuously and some of the functions wouldnt work anymore while others continued to work too well; in that the dishwasher on occasion would rewash several times without anyone starting the machine again. The dishwasher also started leaking water... As of yesterday, the dishwasher control panel stopped responding and then out of the blue, the dishwasher turned itself on in the middle of the night! We called customer service and they said they could send a repairman out for around $89 and then we would have to pay for the parts needed and the cost of labor. After reading many reviews sounding exactly the same as mine, my husband and I are against repairing this lousy machine. Its absolutely ridiculous for a dishwasher to quit unexpectedly like this. Our question now is, which brand to purchase for our next dishwasher? No more junk please!!

This Maytag Centennial with commercial technology washer has ruined a couple of thousand of dollars of clothing, maybe 10 to 12 of my favorite shirts (ripped holes around the top of the pockets), bath towels and sheets and comforters and hand knitted small blankets that can never be replaced. It tore holes in nearly everything that was made out of cotton, I was doing spring cleaning and I normally wash most of my summer clothing, but this time this washing machine destroyed nearly all my summer clothing. This washing machine came with the house I just purchased. (I gave my older Maytag washer and dryer to some needy folks which worked great when I moved here). Disappointed in MAYTAG. My grandmother got a Maytag Bravos XL MVWB755 washer and from day 1 she had to call Maytag with issues due to residue left on the clothes. They told her to not use this setting... buy this detergent... only use cold water etc. Never did they offer a repair guy to come out. A year passes still having issues shes out of warranty. They now offer a repair guy but claim theyre going to charge her $90. Once she explains to them that she was never offered a repair guy & they shouldve done this before. They decided to waive this fee and send a repair guy. Once the technician comes out to the house they do absolutely nothing and they fill it up with water say we need to clean it and Ill come back out and do another diagnostic. When they come back all they do is fill it up with water get a glass check the water and say, Nope, no floating residue. Everythings fine. They then tell her she needs to get a water softener which is going to be hundreds of dollars. The technician also says do not use any other settings except for these two. Can someone please explain to me why they have all these dang buttons and settings if were not supposed to be using any of them and why all of the clothes come out with soap residue scummy residue all over them? The old washer never did this. It was a Kenmore and its the same water same everything but this Maytag washer is been nothing but problems. It leaves the residue which is stripped all over dark and white clothes, it is extremely loud, not all the clothes even get wet! Maytag is been extremely uncooperative with assisting my Nana. They tell her no one else not one other person is having this problem but when I look up this issue I find that about 2500 people on this forum are having very similar problems. Something has to be done. Maytag should have to take responsibility for this washer. The bottom line is it supposed to be an XL. When my grandparents are washing its only for two people. Theyre not even filling that washer up of all of the clothes are not even getting wet. It just goes to show you that the energy-efficiency that they claim is not working. The washers not getting enough water inside of it. Its not fully rinsing the clothes and no one should have to put the clothes in wash them then do a whole another rinse cycle just to get the dang soap off. So basically at this point she stuck having to do multiple washes using way more utilities than she should have to and Maytag is basically going to do nothing. It wont help her over the phone the technician is a joke and it looks like so many of you people are having the same issues.

We bought our Maytag Bravos in December 2010. Four months out of warranty, like many other complaints Ive read, we started getting the loud jet taking off noise from the laundry room. Now we are having issues with the lid lock not allowing you to get to the clothes. This machine tries to spin three times and then locks up. It literally locks the lid and will not allow you to get to your clothes! For a machine to fail just four months out of warranty is a joke! After investigating the problems with the machine, it will cost us more to repair than what we originally paid for the washer in the first place. Give me a break! There should be a recall and Maytag should have their feet held to the fire to replace these less than adequate high-dollar machines!

I purchased a Bravo 300 MVWB400VQ in 2009. I knew in 6 months that I had made a huge mistake. The clothes began coming out soaking wet - the dark clothes have lint, pet hair, and rings on them. The large capacity drum is just that... a big drum. If I wash bedding in it, it becomes off balance and sounds like its fallen over. I have used only HE detergents, and I wash the washer (yes, wash the washer, does that tell you anything?) before the light comes on. Now the machine sounds like its full of loose parts or rocks in it when it begins to fill up. Its even worse when the water starts to pump out. Now that Ive read all the other complaints, I realize that Im doomed. All of these trusting people have been cheated out of nearly a thousand dollars for a piece of junk. What good is Consumer Affairs if there is nothing done when there are so many complaints? I will join any lawsuit against Maytag if ever there is one. This is another lemon that promised everything and delivered nothing.

We have had this washer for 1 year. I noticed right away my clothes would come out extremely wrinkled. Now not only are they wrinkled, they also smell musty. After researching I find others have the same issue, even finding a video of horrible mold under the drum. We called to have it serviced since we have a 5-year warranty. The service man recommended using Afresh. WELL, we do faithfully every month. He said they would not pay to have it cleaned, and even if he cleaned it, that the mold would come back. This to me is a major design flaw, one that could potentially make people sick. IF there is that much mold growing in the machine, with no way of cleaning it, and now the clothes are smelling, there is a HUGE issue!

Stay away from this product!!! Lets just say one star is too much for this product. Terrible. Lets just say one star is too much for this product. We bought this washer 2/2017. We used our previous Maytag washing machine for about 15 years without any problems. But this machine on the first try was a big disappointment because it did not wash clothes very well. Clothes come out of washing machine smelling bad and you could see the soap scum on darker clothing. We try to return the machine to Home Depot after 3 days, but they said after 48 hours they could not take it back. So if there was any problems we had to call a technician to repair it. Well, there is nothing to repair because thats just the way the machine is designed to conserve water.Worst washer and the customer service is even worse than this machine because they just keep repeating that if there is nothing to repair then, there is no problem. So, therefore its not their responsibility. TERRIBLE!!! I even bought their extended warranty and that doesnt do anything with dissatisfaction on this product. If you are owner of this company or at least care about your company, you should stop making this kind of product, and listen to peoples complaints!!! What a waste of our hard earned money in this bad economy!!!

We purchased a high capacity washer (MVWB835DW), along with the matching dryer, two years ago from Lowes. This review is not about Lowes. They did the best they could to make things right. The review is about the Maytag washer (made and serviced by WhirIpool). It has been nothing short of a debacle. The first two washers did not work and had to be replaced. The third and current washer has been repaired three times, including the drum and motor. We have been without the use of the washer for over a week each time while waiting for parts and Whirlpool to approve the repair. The washer is not high capacity as advertised. Filling the drum even half way results in the washer stopping mid cycle whereupon we have to adjust the contents back into balance. In addition, the machine leaves a lint residue on dark clothing that has to be wiped off by hand. We have asked Maytag/Whirlpool to replace the machine but they say it has to fail for the same issue four times in order to qualify for replacement. We are done and will purchase another washer from a different manufacturer. It’s easy to understand why Samsung and LG have become such a dominate force in the laundry sector. Whirlpool/Maytag does not care about you or the problems with their product. Buyer beware!

Our Maytag refrigerator was about a year old when we noticed rust on the edge of the stainless steel doors. I called Maytag and they were nice enough to replace the doors even though the warranty had expired by their standards. Keep in mind, the warranty starts when you purchase the product, not when you install it. We ordered our appliances from Lowes well in advance of our kitchen remodel so we would have them when we needed them. The time our appliances sat in Lowes warehouse used up two months of our warranty. Now, the new stainless steel doors are rusting and they are refusing to do any thing about it. Should stainless steel rust? Maytag doesnt seem to care whether their product performs the way they should. Its all about the warranty. Once the warranty lapses, they could care less whether their product blows up. Thats the customers problem. Whatever happened to building a quality product that lasted and customers bought for generations? Obviously, thats a thing of the past.My goal in writing this is to make consumers aware of appliance warranties. When I spoke to Lucas, a Maytag customer service supervisor, he informed me their products offered no warranty on the finish of the product. So, according to Lucas, the finish on your brand new Maytag appliance could flake off like dandruff and its your problem regardless whether its a manufacturing defect or not. Remember, buyer beware!

Purchased a Maytag range with Aqualift technology in 2013 thinking it was a good brand and *happy* to find a new way to self-clean my oven. After following directions to the letter, there is some loosening of anything on the floor of the oven, but the sides and top are slowly being coated with more and more grease. Ive spent way too much time with my head in the oven trying to scrub stuff without using a heavy duty cleaner but feel I now need to resort to Easy Off as there is no other way to get it clean. I also dont understand why they tell you to remove the racks since there obviously isnt enough going on to even clean the oven... How would the racks be damaged? And now I believe there is a problem with the Dual Choice element where Im not able to turn the temperature down. Even turned back to the low setting, the pan cooks away like its on high. I have to keep turning it off and then back on in an attempt to find something similar to medium or low heat. Im so very disappointed in Maytag and feel this method of oven cleaning should never have been put on the market. Its a scam!

We bought 10 18-lb washers about a year ago. They are a maintenance nightmare. For example on June 5 7 out of 10 machine were out of service. One has been down since Jan 20 and the others for various lengths of time. The guarantee for these machines has been misleading since the parts for repair are never available. We are losing business and money because of the Maytag failure to provide equipment that operates as advertised. We need help now.

Purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 6 years ago and everything was fine until 3 weeks ago when the washer stopped spinning. We knew we were out of the 1 year warranty and contacted a repair service, who told us the bearing was no good. Contacted Maytag who offered in goodwill to pay for the parts and we would pay for the labor. A different repair person came in and told us the washer has no bearings but a transmission, which went bad. They ordered the transmission and today the repair person was in to install it. He installed the transmission, but while trying to take out the old one he dented the drum. According to my husband the repair person banged so hard that it sounded as if something could have been damaged, sure enough it was the drum. Contacted Maytag to see if anything can be done as now we still have no washer, and the repair person was their selection not ours. All we got from Maytag was they are not responsible and there is not much more they can do. I cannot believe the last Maytag product we had lasted over 20 years and this one is less than 6 years with problems. Will not purchase another of their products again.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, At first I was skeptical and I once thought that I was the only one whose wife complained about the terrible soap stains and un-rinsed clothes. And finally my rinse and spin cycle stopped spinning and rinsing! However, after reading several reviews and complaints about the famous Bravo X He washer by Maytag and taking into consideration that there are over 650 complaints, making mine # 651. I now find I have lost all skeptical-ability and feel that we all may be comrades in this venture of purchasing the new trademark of the trade-mark Maytag. As almost all of us say our previous experience with Maytag was great. My parents had a Maytag since I was knee-high to a grasshopper and we were a family of eight. First we had the one with the rubber rollers, that was a work of mechanical genius. I even remember getting my arm caught in the rollers. Then my dad bought the spin dry model and that lasted a good 20 years. When I say the Bravo X at Sears it looked like the state of the art washer. However, and unfortunately I will have to agree with all of you. It is a piece of scrap metal and Maytag will not recall or recognize their mistake and make good on a recall or something. The least they should do is give us an old machine that does wash and spin to replace the new one that is less than 2 years old and does not work. I sure hope this letter does not fall on blind eyes. I think we may even have a collective lawsuit.Sincerely Yours;Mr. Lost All Skeptability!
