We bought our $600 Maytag dishwasher less than two years ago and have had three separate problems with it, from faulty instillation, to a faulty seal to faulty control panel. The first problem was covered under warranty, the second problem we fixed ourselves and the third problem, nothing can be done except pay an additional fee of $250+ for a new part. Maytag used to be a good name but with three problems in under two years, the only guarantee given is that if you buy one, be prepared for problems. This company does not stand by their products and will only ask for more money to fix their faulty items.

Purchased a non agitator washer 1 year ago. Constant frustration with the sensing technology. Cannot select a water level or load size. The expectation is that the machine will do that automatically. The water dispenses through the soap container adding soap to dry clothes which then leave white marks on dark clothes. All of the selections for loads do not have a water level close to covering the clothes. The only way to achieve coverage is to reopen the lid multiple times to restart the sensing feature. Another option is to add wet clothes to increase the weight to “fool” the sensor. Some clothes have come out of the wash still dry in areas. Every load, no matter what size takes a full hour to complete! There is no quick load to be done! I have paused the cycle to leave the house and the water drains from the machine causing you to begin your 1 hour cycle again. Epic fail by the Engineers to provide a user friendly machine. This one, as time goes on, just becomes more frustrating and yes very noisy during the spin cycle.

We bought Maytag dishwasher and Fridge and Whirlpool stove, the dishwasher, front panel came apart, the seal leak, the motor make a serious grinding noise, wheel on the interior racks were broken off easily. All of these parts will not be changed under the extended warranty by King & State, Whirlpool do not want to respond to our request for follow up. Neither is Leons Store where we bought these appliances. Only after 4 years of normal use.... Think about it! Kitchen Aid, Amana, Maytag, Whirlpool, latest Kenmore same products. BBB is not helping resolving these issues, their method is wait and see. Stay away from those companies. As Info: if you need to rinse by hand the dishes before setting them in the dishwasher...wash them much faster and better done.

My washer is new, out of warranty, and about 2 and a half years old. All of a sudden, with no warning or previous issues, the computer board in the washing machine malfunctioned which caused a humming noise, it would not cycle into the next wash phase, the time would go up instead of down, I could not change cycles, and when I would push the power button there would be a delay of power coming on. I unplugged and called my local appliance repair and he said he sees problems with this model regularly, although not always the same issues. Before purchasing I scoured the internet for reviews on different units to make sure I didnt get a lemon. I think Maytag saw the error of their ways quickly and stopped making these before people caught on. This model is no longer being made. I like matching units, so it meant either shell out $500 for replacing the board, or replacing both the washer and the dryer that still works, which would be about $1200 or more for a new set. I chose the least expensive route for now. Not that it matters where I bought mine, but Home Depot and it was on clearance so it was a good price. I have now made up for that difference in repairs.

Dishes did not get clean. Bowls would stand up when you placed them in the dishwasher, then fall over when the door closed and came out dirty. The rims of glasses were not clean. I had several 3 service calls and changed dishwasher soap several times per their suggestions. I contacted Maytag and was told that the only warranty was for mechanical problems and since the problem was not mechanical there was no warranty. I then went through the Better Business Bureau. The ultimate decision from Whirlpool was It has been determined there are no defects with the dishwasher and the issue is use and care. Mrs. **s request for a refund is respectfully denied. I have purchased a new dishwasher which does clean the dishes and the Maytag is sitting in my garage gathering dust.

I am extremely disappointed with Maytag and the representatives I spoke with this evening. One laughed after I told her I was 7 months pregnant and without a fridge for a week after owning it less than a year. I was repeatedly and curtly told, We dont cover that, when I asked only to replace the recent food I had purchased. After having to request a manager several times, I was put on the phone with Dana ID ** who said she would not be able to help with any food despite the delay of a week for repairs to our fridge. However, she could extend our warranty for 6 months. The only reason we were able to get someone out as early as we did was because we knew a licensed Maytag service repair company. Otherwise, we would still be waiting for someone to come out to tell us it would be another week before repairs. The originally assigned service repair company by Maytag did not return our call. There was no concern or empathy from the Maytag representatives that I was pregnant and could have eaten food that was not cooled to prevent bacteria growth that would harm me and my baby.Even their service repair technician recommended to contact them about the spoiled food since it was impossible for the repairs to be completed before the end of the week. We will never purchase Maytag again. The appliance failed with no warning in less than a year, and the representatives made no effort to resolve our issue of being without food for a week.

Under class action suit in 8/2005, Maytag repaired my Neptune washer by replacing motor conversion kit. 6 yrs later the washer is having same problems as had originally; we asked Maytag just to replace the motor drive again ($190.00 part). They refuse, although this motor drive had identical life span to the one they replaced. It seems the replacement part was not new and improved, it only lasted as long as the original. Only now, we are past the class action suit deadline by years.

I bought a new refrigerator and when I plugged it in would not cool. I called and the authorized tech came and said the compressor was bad and the evaporator was rusted and hoses were greased up. I have now been informed that the warranty was void because it was put in a dental office and not a single home. I said since it was never used I would put it in a house. They said it was void and I was out of luck. I always thought maytag sold good products but this has convinced me to never buy a product from them again. It never worked and the tech said it should be replaced but they said he should never had told us this.

1st service call about 2 years after we got it. Put around $200 in it. Now broke down again. Service tech quoted $475.00 to fix it. So it was basically totaled after around 6 years. Nightmare kept getting LD (long drain) code. After hours of research I finally called service. Would not drain so I had to wring out a whole load of laundry and bail out the water by hand. Miserable experience!

Warranty dept. will not help you! I have been told by technicians sent to service my refrigerator after it spoiled food multiple times from not staying cold. The technician flat out told me that this refrigerator cannot be fixed but they are not allowed to say that it cannot be fixed. They will not return your calls and are just flat out rude. After asking to escalate a call, the rep said the manager will call me right back in a few minutes. Hours went by and I called again five minutes before they closed to speak to someone in management at that moment. This manager told me with no hesitation that they dont always believe what their technicians say because they send out techs that are good, okay, and not good. My first question is why is Maytag confident in the people they are sending to my house time and time again that stay for three hours?! She began to get rude and disrespectful and said, Well, if you had cancer, you wouldnt believe the first thing they say... I am in awe of these remarks. How do you compare a refrigerator to cancer?! I asked for a business address and stated that I would like the address to file with the Better Business Bureau and she told me that they have all the info I need. She refused to let me speak to anyone else. This situation is uncalled for when I have the technician telling me, This refrigerator is not repairable but they wont allow me to say that and Maytag will not make this an easy process for you. Unbelievable!

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer 3 months ago. The Bravo XL is simply a piece of crap. No agitation and clothes come out as dirty as they went in. It also leaves soap stains on all the clothes by since it doesnt agitate enough. Nothing is wrong with the unit, just a horrible engineering piece of crap. Ive been in manufacturing for 30 years and cant even imagine how a company like this can design, test and still sell such a piece of crap. You put a shirt on the top of the load when starting and its still there at the end of all the cycles. Just absolutely horrible. Do NOT purchase any washer without the old time center agitator post. Horrible....

I have had commercial front loading washers since they came out (first was a Whirlpool Duet); although I like the capacity they have for large quilts and sleeping bags, they just dont seem to clean as well as the agitate-in-tub style, and they can take a ridiculous amount of time for a cycle -- wheres the energy savings there that they advertise? Im going to go back to the agitate-in-tub of water style when a replacement is needed. A lot of hype and expense, and plenty of experience with these on my part, but Im going to grade them a C, at best, compared to the agitator style washing machines I use to own.

Our $1,000.00 Maytag Bravos is only 4 years old (also bought the matching dryer at the same time). We have had to purchase two new motherboards for the washer and now the uL, during the spin cycle, comes on and my clothes will not spin out. I have followed the manuals directions to unplug, wait, replug, redistribute, etc... all to NO avail. So very disappointed with this machine. In 2011, we purchased this Maytag Centennial MVWC200XW1 washer. It will not complete the cycle when it goes into rinse and spin, will not empty water and once the cycle starts, it sounds like someone is inside with a hammer banging on the basket. Clothes come out with a powder residue on them and several pieces have had holes. Called Maytag and was told there was no service available in our area. I will never purchase another Maytag product. Used by two adults a couple of times a week, this machine should be trashed. I have to hand-wring our laundry as we cannot afford to replace at this point. My last washer was a GE and I had it for over 20 years, we replaced it because we moved into a new home thinking Maytag was the best out there. I checked for a recall because there are so many complaints on other sites but found none. We purchased from Home Depot and of course, they are no help.

I purchased this dryer in September 2011. By August 2012, one month before the warranty expires, the thermo fuse blew and the dryer would not dry; no heat. I replaced fuse and 30 days later, it blew again. I replaced it again and now, March 2013, 6 months later, the same thing; the thermo fuse blew, no heat. The vent is clean and air flow is very good. Maytag will not admit a problem. This is not an inexpensive dryer; it may be cheap, but not inexpensive. Maytag quality appears to have vanished. I have Maytag throughout the house but will think twice before purchasing Maytag again. Chinese produced parts/products are inferior. Maybe Ill look at Bosch or LG from now on.

We bought a new Maytag Bravo series thinking we were buying the best product... not! The washer has been running great. But when it came time to clean the washer on the Affresh cycle, the washer overflowed. It turns out the washer fills up higher on the Affresh cycle than it does on the regular wash cycles. Well, that’s why it overflowed; the plastic tub that hold the water had a freaking crack in it near the top! This washer isnt even 3 months old. I had to get a repairman in here once to check it out, then again to come back and fix it. At least it was under warranty. Im afraid what else will happen. Piece of crap Maytag, great quality checks! Maybe hire some real people that can see what the hell they are doing in quality. I told them about the damages to my basement. They sent me paperwork to fill out. Before today I was happy with my washer. Well yesterday I heard this loud noise. It turns out to be the gear case on my washer. To my surprise the repairman told me that it would cost between $450 and $500 to replace. I called Maytag to check on the 10 years warranty and was told that it would cover the basket and the motor but not the gear case. That is very stupid because without the gear case the washer will not work. This gear case help the sensor work, the basket work. DO NOT BUY ANY A MAYTAG PRODUCT. They do not stand by their product. I have had my washer for 2 years and 10 months. Before this the last washer I purchase was a Lady Kenmore through Sears. I had that washer and dryer for 25 years.

We purchased all new appliances 3 years ago including a Maytag dishwasher. Same problem as a lot of others. We had the control board fail three times in just four months. Now today the repairman came and while he was here contacted other Sears technicians and Whirlpool technicians. They came up with the idea to replace the detergent dispenser which they said is causing the main control board to fail. However, while the tech was on the line with Sears and Whirlpool they done troubleshooting on the detergent dispenser and found that it was all within specifications. In fact, that was not a problem because it worked as it should. But in their wisdom they decided to replace the detergent dispenser. We now have to wait another ten days for the part to arrive and reschedule another appointment to have the detergent dispenser that works replaced. The serviceman that was at our house said that they are making him replace a part that is working and that this does not need to be done but he has to take instructions from Sears technicians. Our service person said that he doesnt anticipate that replacing the detergent dispenser will make the dishwasher work but he said if it does it will only last a few weeks as before and then fail once again. We have the dishwasher on extended warranty and there are about 22 months. I suspect that this one will be going to court to get resolved. Never Maytag again or Whirlpool.

Updated on 08/13/2021: Today a repairman who is authorized by Maytag came out. He found the problem, some arm that popped out that is located underneath the washer. He put it back together and said he needs to order the part and it will take 30 more days. Set the washer so that it SHOULD work for a couple of loads. I spent $700 on a washing machine and I have to go to a laundry mat to get my clothes washed. Here is the clincher. The guy left no paperwork, nothing, not even a business card. So I am at the mercy of this repairman (I think he said his name was Jessie). The guy was friendly, quick and knowledgeable, however he told my husband he knew what the problem was going to be, if you knew why didnt you bring the part with you and he said the part is out of stock. Why, is this part unique to Maytag washers? So I am still waiting for my washer to be fixed.Original Review: In December 2020 I purchased a Maytag washer it was delivered in January 2021 and it worked great for the first several months. Then the machine started making noises, clicking noises like it couldnt move through the gears. Then I started noticing that my clothes were not getting cleaned. It was taking an hour to wash the clothes. I told my husband it is not agitating just clicking. We had to stop and start back up the washer just to get the water level high enough for the so called deep water wash. I was finding residue left on my clothes and had to wash them 2 or 3 times to get the clothes clean enough to wear. Sometimes it wont spin enough to empty the water in the tub. It smells almost like wire burning. It has barely been 6 months and I have to have a repairman out. I will review the washer again after it has been fixed or replaced. But as of right now I will never buy another Maytag again.

I have a Maytag Centennial washer & dryer put into service in August 2011. The washer has recently gotten quite noisy, so I had a repairman out to look at it. He found that the bearings are going out & estimated repair costs at $360. He actually did not recommend repair, as the repair costs approach half the price of a new washer. I am very angry about this, as this is quite a new washer & was not a cheap model. There are only 2 of us in the house, so I only wash an average of half a dozen loads a week. I never jam the tub full, basically baby the washer so it will last. Much good that has done! Im old enough to remember when Maytag was the best in laundry appliances, expected to last for many years. I bought the Maytag because my last (top-of-the-line) Whirlpool set required a number of repairs, not realizing that Whirlpool had purchased Maytag. I will be using this washer until the bearing seize & then I will be buying a non-Whirlpool product Im afraid that will mean a foreign brand. I really prefer to buy American, but apparently, thanks to Whirlpool, that is no longer possible!

On 8/26/16, we purchased a top-of-the-line Maytag dishwasher from Lowes of Palm Bay, Fl. It began leaking water out one side shortly after installation. Because of a hospitalization, we were not able to report the problem to Lowes until the first part of December. A repairman from Brandts in Sebastian, Fl. came out on 12/6/16 and said it might be the door gasket, but he did not have a new one with him and if it continued, to call back. I called again and another repairman from Brandts came out on 1/3/17. He said it was out of square and he took out 2 screws and said to cut back on detergent because too many suds could cause it to leak (which we find ludicrous). Now it leaks on both sides. This is not a small leak; it soaks the bath towel we put under the door. On 1/11/17 Brandts sent 2 repairmen out and they claimed we needed to cut way back on detergent and put in a capful of salad oil because our water softener is causing the suds which causes the leak. We now use 1/2 teaspoon of detergent and the capful of salad oil. It is still leaking. Our previous Kitchen Aid dishwasher never leaked and we used the recommended amount of detergent in it. We are apparently stuck with a brand-new dishwasher that cannot be fixed. We will NEVER buy another Maytag appliance.

I am very frustrated and disappointed with all of the appliances I purchased from Maytag, 3 1/2 years ago. The stove has never cooked evenly, and they replaced both heating elements, and it still does not bake properly. I just called customer service, because my pies for the holidays burned once again. They told me there was nothing they could do. I cannot believe a customer that spent this much money with Maytag (purchased a washer, dryer, microwave and oven), gets no help from the company. The transmission has been replaced in the washer, and is still noisy. The dryer is also very noisy. The stove does not bake properly, and the microwave quit within a few months of purchasing. The quality of Maytag is very poor, and the customer service is obviously poor too, when they said there is nothing they can do for me. I guess they do not care about customer loyalty.

We got our Maytag fridge approx.18 months ago. There was no trouble the first year and there has been nothing but trouble for the last five months. The freezer started frosting one day which causes temp to get in danger zone - we defrost it with a hair dryer about every week and it has continued to frost up ever since. We have a friend that works for a certified Maytag repair business. He came to our rescue five times and called Maytag hot line for help.Together, they could only suggest that the gasket be replaced. He could not see anything wrong with it but we changed it just in case. Still, the problem continues. When we called Maytag customer service (877-556-57420), we were told that no one has had the problem before us. We just looked online; there are 521 complaints about Maytag. My question now is, how do we get a class action lawsuit going?

I had bought Maytag Dishwasher MDBH979AWW3 in Sep. 2009. Oct 2011, the dishwasher stopped working and the control panel had to be replaced, few days later, it stopped working again and the Thermal fuse had to be replaced. Now two months later, it stopped working again. Till this point, Ive spent a lot of money on the repairs and I wish I had used that money to buy a new dishwasher. Looks like not just the Maytag dishwashers are faulty, but even the parts they have are faulty. I will not recommend any Maytag products to anyone.

Purchased 6 11 21 from Menards. $1100.00. With extended warranty $134.99. Lid lock inoperative on 9 11 21. Called Menards, past 30 days. They will not help. Called Maytag, took 2 weeks to get a diagnosis on issue, while technician was there week of 28th the motherboard fired. Another month, part came in October 23rd then wiring harness fired, and pump also. 1 week for parts, which were replaced, Technician came and was stumped as it still doesnt work. Diagnosis after this appointment for the pump replacement is clutch, rotor & stator are fried.Nov 18th, new rotor came in and Technician says although brand new in box, it is defective from factory. New one ordered. In meantime I have called maytag every week with no results, they tried to get me to accept 100.00 gift card, I laughed, as we are a family of 6 and generally have 6-8 loads a week. And have spent on average 70.00 a week for the last 14 weeks, we could have bought another washer by now. Last maytag lasted 16 years! This one 3 months...They finally decided to replace it, but we wont recieved it for another 4-5 weeks. So, 20 - 22 weeks of no brand new washer bought in good faith, brand rep, and paid for based on prior experience. So far, No customer service, No brand reputation, No product longevity. I will never buy another maytag, ever. If you only had negative stars to award this useless product. This is almost criminal, and is close to being fraudulent and willfully deceitful. It is false advertising and to date they have not really stood behind their product...

I purchased the Bravos washer and dryer suite. Since I was a small child I had heard my parents and others alike say that Maytag always had superior products as this is the reason when I was fortunate enough to purchase a new set I chose a Maytag brand. We that was the past and the present products et washers /dryers as the worst ever. I have had my set less than 2 years and today had to go out and buy a used one again. I have had nothing but trouble with these 2 and will never buy their brand of anything again. From the amount of poor reviews it appears I am not alone. I tried several times to no avail to have someone from the company contact me as I was put on hold too many times!

We purchased the Maytag Neptune washer and dryer on May 2005. We purchased it for $2,000. We have had so many problems as we have replaced the drain pump 2 times because of objects getting stuck in it. We have also replaced the door switch, as well as flooding my laundry room floor several times. In 2006, we received a notice of recall. We responded to the recall and were supplied with a GFCI plug for our washer, as this was to prevent the control board from catching on fire. In September 2011, the control panel on the Neptune washer failed. I now have to purchase a new washer, as this is an expensive fix. With this poor workmanship and problems that we have encountered, I am very disappointed. This was a lot of money to spend on a washer, only to last 6 years.

I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything beside Maytag. Our old Maytag refrigerator broke. Would cost too much to fix. So, we decided to buy new. We had the old white, which I was perfectly fine in buying again, however, white was super expensive. So, the salesperson persuaded us to purchase stainless steel. We got a pkg for close to $4000 all in June of 2016. Needless to say, these items have been called for repair within the 1 year warranty over half a dozen times, and have had to replace pieces that have just broken. My worst experience is the stove. I really do not like it at all. I feel the product is misleading. We wanted a self cleaning oven. It is the newest brand out there for what I consider a joke. It is the AquaLift Technology that does not clean anything. My old Maytag self cleaning oven cleaned far better than this. The same spots are in the oven. It just is worthless. I have addressed my frustration with Maytag where I was told that the oven is for the light user. Well, then you need to educate the people who sell your stuff, because I have a family I cook a lot. If this product was made for an apartment single person who does not cook then we should have been informed. Your product states Self Cleaning. Its not self cleaning!!! My frustration went up to the main office of Maytag where their resolution was to give me a discount on a new stove. What do I do with the one I have, and I was told I could sell it!!!! Really Maytag wow from a consumer that has always been a valued customer this is the level of service I get. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty on all Maytag products, because of my fear of something just breaking again. My advice to all is either buy a no named brand or buy something cheaper. Please folks if you have a family do not purchase these products. Its for people that just need a pretty display of appliances!!!

DO NOT BUY Whirlpool Corp Appliances, ESPECIALLY MAYTAG. They do not stand behind the units they sell. We dropped $600 on this Commercial Grade wash machine (5.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency White Top Load Washing Machine with Deep Clean Option, ENERGY STAR Model MVW7232HW) and paid to upgrade the lines to stainless steel. It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered. There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. The parts to fix it are back-ordered months and cost more than a new unit after install. Glad I paid $150 to learn all this. It also did not wash great on most settings. Purchased at Home Depot, they refused to stand behind the product as well.

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher less than a year ago and are very disappointed with the poorly designed quality of this product. We had a Maytag repairman look at our dishwasher and he told us that; the dishwasher cleans with enzymes in the dishwasher not water pressure, and we need to make sure the water in the kitchen faucet need to be hot before starting the dishwasher, we also need detergent, rinse aid, and citric acid added to each load. Adding all these products to the dishwasher does not fix a poorly designed product. This product does not clean the dishes, even with rinse aid the glasses come out cloudy. The dishwasher has a power blast button, it does not clean the dishes any better than the regular setting and it runs for four hours. We will never buy another Maytag product.

We bought a Maytag Bottom Freezer Model MBB1952HEW in 2006. We have already replaced the relay, two years ago, now the compressor is going. I have seen recalls of the top freezer on the internet but not on the bottom freezer. It is concerning when you pull your refrigerator out from the wall as to how warm/hot it is back there. We were told it would be cheaper to buy a new refrigerator versus replacing the compressor. We are so disappointed in how much money we have stuck into this refrigerator for how old it is. I would expect a refrigerator from a reputable company to last longer than 6 years.

All I can say is what a mistake. Had a front loader that always smelled and had mold around rubber gasket in door. So, wanted a top loader this time after old GE died. Unbelievable, not enough water to clean clothing. Clothing comes out with some dry spots. And the worse thing is washing black items, tiny particles on black pants, shirts, etc. Think is lint not soap but not sure. You have to rub all over the clothing to try and remove. This washer is 8 months old and I have cleaned it with baking soda and vinegar mixture thinking this would help, it doesnt. The spin cycle sounds like a rocket ship taking off. Lots of banging noises during operation also. I have invested a lot of money thinking Maytag is rated high. It is a pretty grey color with glass top. Well I was fooled, not only the saying looks arent everything for people but its true for washing machines. I have gotten multiple mail from co. wanting me to get extended warranty. Think I will, usually dont, cause I think it wont be reliable. Wish I had my washer from the 70s and 80s. Plain old wringer that got things clean. Just put black pants in dryer on very low heat taken out damp cause I dont dry a lot of my clothing. This seems to have helped to remove stains (soap)/ lint. but, talk about wrinkles, oh boy, this machine has that spin cycle going 100 miles a minute. And if you pick a lower spin speed things come out wet. I actually can say I hate this Maytag Bravo. Things dont come out clean, wrinkles beyond control, very loud. Please folks check out your sites on the internet before buying Maytag.

I purchased MVWB955FW (washer) and MEDB955FW (dryer) from AJ Madison and the units were delivered in December 2017. After using the washing machine 5 times the glass lid spontaneously shattered putting glass into the machine and all of the clothes. I called Maytag for a replacement/service and they had to reschedule as the lid wasnt in yet. A week later, I followed up with Customer Service only to find out that the replacement lid was also shattered. They didnt make a replacement lid without glass (not sure why you need to watch the clothes being washed). I was told that there were no replacement lids available anywhere. I asked about getting a replacement washer and was told couldnt do that.I asked them to pick up the units and refund my money, which they promised. It is now 2 months since the original call for service and I continue to have to follow-up with them (never get a call back) and STILL have the broken units in my house. I have since purchased a replacement set (LG) and waiting for my refund. I will NEVER do business with Maytag/Whirlpool again.

My Maytag washer is only three years old and the control panel completely went. Not only did it cost me the service call, they want $360 to replace the control panel. I called Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they would help with the cost of the part. I am 60 years old and the only one who uses the washing machine. It is not beat up. Maytag would not offer any solution at all and refused to even pay for any part of the control panel. They said it was really my tough luck for not having bought the extended warranty. When you spend so much for an appliance, you do not expect it to only last three years and you should not need an extended warranty. I am so disappointed and I will never buy a Maytag or anything from its parent company Whirlpool.

I was all too excited to FINALLY own a new set! I conducted research and read reviews. We decided on the Maytag Bravo XL set (Lowes) and was thrilled! For the first 6 months. They were both fantastic! 6 months later, several times the clothes washed were soaking wet as if they had been set on soak. It continuously alerted to clean after 3 loads. The dryer... Well, evidently, if you live in a high-humidity region, DO NOT HOOK TO THE WATER LINE FOR THE STEAM OPTION. It will soak your dry clothes! After 3 loads of drying, it fails to re-start for the 4th load for at least 12 hours! When paying over $1,590 for a new set, this should not be an issue. Mind you, I do laundry once a week - 5 to 7 loads including linen. Fortunately, we paid an additional $200 for the warranty at Lowes.Lets see what happens there!

Maytag stove MGR7662WW - I purchased this stove about 4 years ago. Now, the stove will not light. I called in to Maytag only to be told I must pay a service fee or purchase a repair manual. It’s very strange. My old Kenmore lasted 22 years and here I thought Maytag would at least last 10 years less than half the life of my old stove, realizing products today are not what they used to be. Maytag, the dependability people, I guess that old Maytag commercial where the Maytag repairman is so bored claiming no one needs service for a Maytag product is really false advertising. Buy American products; I’m not really sure who is the current country who is home to the great Maytag corporation. I guess me and my wife will spend another $700 on another brand stove and try this process all over again, hopefully not again in approx 4 years.

In January 2006, we bought a Neptune washer and dryer, model# MAH5500BWW, because we thought they were superior to any other at the time. In January 2012, the washer started making a very loud noise in the spin cycle. It just kept getting louder and a technician was called in check out the problem. We were told that the bearing was going out and he found a hole in the back of the tub. He said it was not cost effective to replace the bearing and the tub and suggested that we continue to use it until we could no longer tolerate the noise. We are very unhappy with the durability of this washer, with the amount of money we paid to be going out only after 6 years of service. We have been a Maytag customer for 15 years and will never buy another Maytag appliance. We are going to replace the washer and dryer to keep a matching set and it certainly will not be a Maytag.

I have had this washer (top loading washer model MVWX550XW0) almost 2 years. It has ruined some of my clothes. It does not properly wash anything. I have tried every possible solution. I cannot use the HE powder detergent - it will not rinse out. I tried using less than required and double rinse, absolutely did not overload. Even using the HE liquid still did not get clothes clean. I used the number one detergent to the cheaper brand - it makes no difference. I still have to double rinse everything. Small throw rugs will not even get totally wet or clean. I took clothes to the laundromat just to make sure it was the washer. It is this washer. I know I have waited too long to register my complaint, but I have basically thrown away $1200. Also, loads of clothes would take up to 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours to wash. Now that is definitely not energy efficient. I would love for you to pick it up and bring me a standard washer and dryer. I work for a research firm and know when companies really care about their customers. I will be interested to see if the Maytag Man really cares. The only reason I did not check angry is because of my delayed response.

Purchased this maytag oven from home depot November 2011. Oven has been working properly since install. The top burner controls do operate too easy and you can just brush up against the stove and turn the gas on which I seen here was mentioned. My major issue is the stainless steel finish that was applied. It appears that this metal was not properly prepared prior to applying the finish. The oven door is with rust blisters. The metal under the coating is causing this problem. The finish in the other areas is with no problems... No chemicals have been used to clean this oven.Customer service of maytag stated that this stove only has a one year warranty... so if you buy any maytag just remember one year and when it breaks down the cost to fix will be more than a new defective maytag stove. I will not purchase another maytag product and I do not recommend that this manufacturer be considered when purchasing any appliance.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher, Model MBD7609AWW2 from our local (small) Sears store in late 2011. I purchased Maytag because of reputation and experience with the brand. In June 2014 the control panel failed. I replaced it myself and the dishwasher worked fine for a little over two months. Today, it has stopped working again and the control panel again has gone bad and has to be replaced. Sadly, the dishwasher is great in cleaning dishes. I have only had to rewash maybe one or two items in the time that Ive had it. I purchased Maytag because my previous dishwasher was a Maytag that lasted 20 years. Granted I did have to change the belt twice but it was an easy fix. Ive tried repeatedly to contact Maytag today but they are experiencing extremely high call volume... HA! I wonder why? The dishwasher was warrantied for a year and based on the experiences I have read about online, this model was apparently an absolute failure. No more Maytag anything for me... We recently purchased a Maytag Washer/Dryer set, but shortly after it arrived, we realized it was way too big for our needs, so traded it in for a smaller model (Model #MVWB765FC3). After a few washes, it developed a loud clicking noise during the entire wash cycle. Inquired about it at the retailer we purchased it from (showed them video of it) and was told it was not supposed to make that noise. Subsequently the Maytag Repairman paid us a visit and told us theres nothing wrong with the machine and that the retailer should not have told us what they did.#1). The machine did not make that noise initially. It started after a few loads of laundry. #2). The first machine we brought home was the same model (only larger) and that one didnt make that noise. To add insult to injury, the repairman has the audacity to tell my husband, Well, this visit didnt cost you anything. Really?! It cost him 4 hours of pay while he sat home waiting for you! In addition, we were delivered two cosmetically defective dryers that had to be returned. Furthermore, when I was washer/dryer shopping, I sent Maytags Customer Service Dept. an e-mail through their website asking questions about the product. To this day, I have still not received a response. I had a bad experience about 20 years ago with Maytag, but thought Id give them a second chance. I tell you...there will not be a 3rd time.

They said a technician would be out on the 16th to fix it. I got a call on the 15th saying the part they needed was not released yet so they would be out on the 23rd. The guy comes on the 23rd and diagnoses the problem. He says the machine has a bad motor and shock of all shocks. He doesnt have the part to repair it. They originally assumed it was something else and were wrong. Fantastic. He said he would be back on the 30th. I got a call on the 29th saying that, once again, the part needed to fix it was not released and that they would call me to make another appointment when it was available. I had enough. I originally purchased with Home Depot and called my original salesman. He told me he would replace the washer with any brand I wanted (I paid the difference in cost of course) but I was still relieved that he was willing to work with me. I ended up going with an LG. Anyway, after we paid for repairs and a new control panel put in ($160.00 +- for part itself), we were very cautious about touching anything on that dishwasher. YOU HAVE an issue with design and I can give you link after link of other customers who have expressed the same thing. So, here we are in 2017... About 2 months ago, we noticed the exact same symptoms with the control board. In fact the ONLY way we could start the dishwasher was to turn off the breaker, let it sit for 20 minutes - overnight and then turn back on and hit the start button. We lost all control over the settings. Only auto clean and delay 2 hours were working. Yesterday, I purchased yet another control board ($179 incl tax and shipping). I plan to install myself. If I could afford another dishwasher, I would do it and never buy Maytag again. Maytag really ought to be ashamed and if they were truly concerned they would offer these defective parts at a steep discount or better yet, recall. I plan on submitting something about this issue with any consumer group I can find. I guess the only way to spread the word and perhaps force a company to respond is to post on social media anymore. This is NOT a like.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher because they are supposed to be known to be a good brand. But my dishwasher is 3 years old and it started rusting around a steam vent on the outside of the door! This issue has been ongoing but as Ive been busy, I havent had the time to address the problem with Maytag since its out of warranty anyway. But I feel like this should not be a warranty issue to begin with, it should be a recall issue. I had a plumber look at this, and he said that it was caused because the vent was not properly sealed during manufacturing. Now it looks as though mold spores are growing inside the steam vent! Maytag will not stand behind their product, so why should I invest anymore money into it?! I would rather purchase another dishwasher (OTHER THAN THIS BRAND) than dump another penny into this garbage dishwasher!

Bought the dishwasher (model MDB8969SDM0) at Lowes Burlington Canada beginning of September. After two months of use, the plastic pins and attachment to the drum, top rack broke and cracked in several places. Called Whirlpool Canada for repairs many times and got the run around, spent hours on the phone and still not resolved as of December 12, 2014. This model has a problem with the plastic and breaks continuously as seen by many reviews on the internet. The technician said that this is a problem with this newest model. I have now been waiting for over two weeks for the parts with no end in sight since they claim that the parts are back ordered. Called again today and was told that it would be another week to see if they can find the pieces. This is ridiculous, I paid over $ l,000 dollars for this model and it looks like now that I will not have it repaired by Christmas. Lowes refuses to help me because they have washed their hands since it broke after one month. I have been lied to many times by customer service at Whirlpool Canada. They claim that I am the first one to complain about this model yet the reviews on the internet are full with this issue. They say what you want to hear and do not seem to care at all. It is a disgrace, I feel totally cheated and robbed of my hard earned money. Maytag is no longer a good company for their appliances and service. I am starting to think that I am stuck with this machine and that they have literally robbed me of $ l,000. Shame on you Whirlpool and Maytag.

My husband and I just purchased on 4/8/17 a BRAND NEW MAYTAG 4.3 CUBIC FEET CAPACITY FRONT LOADING WASHER WITH STEAM AFTER OUR PREVIOUS 15 year old washer that we both used just finally started having issues. So we decided to go new and with front loader with good brand. How sadly I was wrong! We brought our washer home, hooked it up and turned it on with 1/2 load of tiny laundry. It didnt even make it through one load! This POS started throwing error codes E1, E2, F8, F9, Suds and wouldnt drain any water. We reviewed the manual again, checked the filter hoses and detergent. All was fine but washer wouldnt work! I called Maytag 2 days later on Monday and after repairman came to look at it Thursday said it needs new drain pump and today now power wont turn on and nothing will work on front of machine, mind you this machine is brand new! I am so disgusted and angry that any company would sell this quality to anybody and at the prices they charge! NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANOTHER MAYTAG!

It took 3 tries to find a repair person who would come out on my schedule. (Im a teacher and cant take time off.) They installed the new control panel, and it working. First off, everyone seeing this should be fuming as I am because we are mostly in the same boat with these control panel issues. Mine is Maytag model MDB7749SBM3 about 575.00. A little bit cheaper than most of you because I purchased at the online and had a rebate. About a couple months after the warranty expired, we started having weird light issues with the control panel where are one light would pop up when you didnt hit it or other lights would pop up when you hit something else. We kept dealing with it thinking that it would dry out and resolve itself. Lo and behold, just like it appears to be tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of machines, it quit. I read this consumer affairs post after it quit and now I know why it did. I opened up the control panel and sure enough, the little ribbon that connects all the electrical connections had brown on the back like it was burnt through. I was able to find a special 1 800 number that Whirlpool has set up because they have purchased Maytag and the woman I spoke with said they would send a technician out and that I was responsible for the diagnostic fee. I was born but it wasnt yesterday. I immediately said to the woman, Absolutely unacceptable. I am NOT paying for anything, very politely highlighting the fact that I know they settled a class action lawsuit in California regarding a control panel issue and there are hundreds maybe thousands of complaints on consumer affairs.com. The woman place me on hold, I am assuming to speak with her supervisor and then let me know that they would pay for the diagnostic fee. She said a repair date for me for about a week and a half later. The repairman had a good day because the dishwasher was already disassembled for him and he proceeded to take pictures and call Maytag. Maytag told him that I was responsible for the installation cost and service fee which according to the technician is about a hundred bucks. I told the technician that is fine but it will not be fine when I call Maytag back. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher and associated damages. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars but I am only on this to let you know that every single one of us needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher in associated damages in small claims court. I plan on filing a claim for approximately $700 for a new dishwasher and damages. In my opinion, I feel like we should all do this, otherwise big corporations like this will continue to shovel garbage into the stores left and right.Have a good day and good luck with your court case hopefully. With all the evidence against them, I have a feeling that they will settle this and pay before the court date even comes around. Good luck to all of you. I will try and update this after I call Maytag back for the hundred dollars that they are going to charge to repair their broken part.

I purchased this washer from Lowe’s on 8/9/2017. After 3 years and 2 months, this washer would no longer power up. I tried resetting it by unplugging it and lifting lid 6 times. It didn’t work. The extended warranty from Lowe’s expired on 8/9/20. I called a technician and he found it need a control panel and control board. He suggested that I call Maytag to see if they would give me the parts as a courtesy since the washer was only three years old. I contacted them and experienced long wait times (51 minutes was the longest). I spent a total of 3 hours on the phone with them. They said no there was nothing they could do for me since the manufacturers warranty ended 2 years ago and the “mother control panel” doesn’t fall under 10-year motor warranty. Well, there’s no need for a motor warranty if there’s no power to the unit! The cost of the parts would be almost $600. It is shameful to not stand behind your product. I would expect to have to replace an iron or a juicer after 3 years, but not a washer. This was a major blow to how I would view the way they do business. I purchased the extended warranty from Lowe’s. I will never do that again. It was a waste of money. They didn’t make any concessions for me either. They kept saying it was a manufacturers issue.

Same as all the other reviews control panel intermittently started to fail. Dishwasher is less than 3 years old. Does not work at all now. I tried resetting circuit breaker - nothing. This unit was $700 from Home Depot. Complete trash. It is cheaper to buy new dishwasher than repair - how unfair! Maytag won’t repair - well for over $300 they will. I feel better knowing everyone has same issue & is not my electrical system. Class action lawsuit!

Maytag Centennial Impeller HE Washing Machine - The seller left this piece of junk for us. I wondered why because it appeared brand new. After the first washing I knew why. I sure regretted leaving my old set behind. This washing machine wont let you add the amount of water you need. I had to add buckets of water and hope it didnt just empty it out because the sensor controls everything. Twice it just emptied it after I closed the lid and it locked. There is an impeller instead of an agitator. It moves slightly but not enough to move the clothes. To top it off the spin cycle tears into the clothing and twists and wrings it so hard everything is wrinkled with soap residue remaining even on delicate. Each load takes over an hour and the clothes arent even clean. It went to the dump after 4 washes. I went on Craigslist and purchased a used Kenmore and am in heaven. No lock, an agitator, 3 water levels, clean clothing, you can open it and add the missing sock, no sensor controlling how you want to do laundry and no more buckets. Dont buy a Maytag. Look at all of the reviews. They arent exaggerating, they are really that bad. Thank you.

I bought a Maytag washer November Thanksgiving of 2013. This washer started giving problems three months after; problems such as the cycle stop turn over properly, the light would say wash but its not washing. It would just stop but the light stuck on wash for long periods of time. Press the pause/start/cancel button, it would sometimes start again and stop and let out the water quickly. The clothes would be filled with water and not wash properly. This the funny part, serious funny part. I contacted Maytag on countless time. They had me on hold so long I had to hang up; a hold for hour I am talking about. One day I finally got through. They gave me a number to contact because where I am located there is no tech. I never got anyone but the machine when I called the number after countless times of trying. I decided to called back Brandsmart, because I just think its not right and fair to me to purchase a washer for so much, to had it shipped for more money. It didnt last me NO time at all and I cannot get any help. Well! Brandsmart told had to have paid export shipping, something I never was offered and since I took it out of the country, there is nothing they can do for me. I hunted for my receipt and to this day I I still have it. All was offered was warranty parts and labor for a month, thirty days. I said no because I would not think anything would go wrong in that short period of time. Nevertheless was not offered any export shipping warranty like what they are trying to ** me with. Here is my receipt number **. I grieve presently how I was just robbed of my money so openly when all I wanted was a replacement.

I purchased the top load Maytag Commercial Residential washer with an agitator last month. I wanted a basic washer with Hot/Warm/Cold settings, Delicate/Normal/Heavy Duty cycles, Small/Medium/Large loads. I paid over $800 for this washer and I cannot wash my whites or rags in hot water! The hot water setting dispenses hot water, then cold water, back and forth. The end result is cool water. Ive called Maytag, Ive been told that there is nothing that can be done about it, thats how theyre made to be considered HE. I asked them why they even put a hot or warm water setting on the washer. You have no control over the water level, all cycles except for normal run in a deep water setting (full drum of water), I dont know why delicates are in a deep water setting. I only wash a couple pieces of delicates together. I end up using a lot more water and detergent with this washer. I hope we dont have to conserve water in the next few years! So though this washer uses less hot water energy, it wastes a lot of water, my water bill goes up and my detergent is used up much quicker! I cannot add time to my wash cycle, (the actual washing/agitation cycle is very short - 10 minutes) it has to drain all of the water and re-start the cycle with more water! $800 is a lot of money for a washer that doesnt wash like my old cheap washer. The local store cant do anything about it and Maytag brushed me off.

I am going to file a complaint with Maytag and if they do not refund my money am going to file a DTPA claim against them for false, misleading and deceptive advertisement. They will have to pay up to three (3) times the purchase price of the washer. Maybe everyone else should consider the same.

Worst Washer ever...hated it from day one of receiving it (but couldnt return because moving into new place, took awhile to get it installed, and by then the 30 day return window had lapsed, so now stuck with this piece of garbage!). Is ALWAYS off balance whenever you wash anything of weight (i.e.: towels, sheets, blankets etc.). It takes me close to 2 hrs to get these items washed because I have to keep starting and stopping it to try to get it to spin dry because it ALWAYS throws the items so is off bal. and wont spin. Then when you hit pause, adj. bal., & start it again, it starts REWASHING the items (instead of continuing on from where you left off), and sometimes when it cant balance in the spinning cycle it just shuts down making you think the full cycle is complete, only to open up the lid to find your clothes all sopping wet. Also, NONE of the cycles will get any of my clothes clean...it just uses so little water your clothes come out feeling grungy and still dirty. I have had to resort to ONLY using the BULKY cycle because it is the ONLY cycle that will use a higher water level (mainly because bulky items like towels will absorb the water so it needs to add more). With this cycle at least my clothes dont FEEL dirty when they are done washing! There is no way of knowing how much time is left on any of the cycles, which is a real problem when you have to start and stop it, because you really have no idea how far back it goes to start itself up all over again. There is just no way to time it, because it keeps messing up where you have to keep stopping/starting it, and then you have no idea of time frame. Never saw a machine built so UNUSER friendly!I will NEVER buy a MAYTAG washer again, and NEVER will I buy a washer unless it HAS the center agitator, and a control for water level. These HE washers are the worst, and unfortunately they are now the only washers being made, but without water, clothes just DO NOT ever get clean anymore no matter which fancy and expensive detergent you use. HE washers are HORRIFIC. I may just buy an old style used washer with the agitator... at least I wont be wasting energy to only wind up with STILL dirty clothes when using HE washers! FINAL NOTE: AVOID Maytag HE Washers at ALL COST! You will be sorry if you decide to purchase one!

MF12665XEM7 - Maytag Refrigerator purchased from Home Depot. We initially thought it to be a good value until it started leaking puddles of water onto the floor to the front sides of the bottom freezer drawer. This event repeated itself and I feared the water would seep between the floor tiles and begin to degrade the sub flooring or possibly cause mold as well. Upon further investigation of lying on my side and pulling the bottom drawer open, I felt, what I thought to be ice on the bottom of the refrigerators floor. I gently inserted a smooth butter knife and with a nudge, a whole sheet of ice about one half inch thick, lifted from the refrigerator floor. I have since had to repeat this about every three weeks or so. Im nearing retirement and shouldnt have to lay on my floor like this to protect my floor and to keep my wife and I from a potential hazard of a slip and fall from this water on the floor! Dependability People? Hardly! I think they got outsourced! Im disgusted! Thank you!

I bought a new Maytag Quiet Series 300 in 2005 and have had nothing but problems with it. The internal plastic pieces that hold dishes in place have broken off regularly. The door handle also broke. The dishwasher does not drain all the way every time. Now, the dishwasher will quit randomly before finishing its cycle. Our model (MDB7600 AWB) was not part of the recall, but is a lemon nonetheless. Of course, all of this occurred after our one year warranty had expired. Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins. The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

We upgraded and purchased a new Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 300 MDBH955A
We upgraded and purchased a new Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 300 MDBH955AWQ to benefit our new kitchen remodel. Initially, the dishwasher worked great. I routinely insist on keeping the filters and interior clean as I was raised up believing that if you take care of your equipment, it will take care of you. Very shortly after purchase, there was a fire recall which was taken care of by Maytag and a third party contractor. Then as time went on, it continuously rendered out dishes with debris and food on them. Then it stopped working. It turned out the latch or door handle broke on the pivot point on the interior of the door. I got that replaced and everything was good again. Then about three months later, of course after warranty, it would not start or anything. I verified power and connections and nothing. I spent about $60 on JustAnswer for further advice and the answer was to replace the control board. After about $250 for a service call and $130 additional, it turned out the control board went out. I observed how it appeared to be a poor design due to the control board being exposed to all of the humidity and other moisture from within the dishwasher door. Then after that being fixed, about six months later, the door latch broke again. Its minor enough that you may not realize its broken until you open the door panel back up again. The plastic is breaking Im sure due to the heat and moisture, but its just minor enough that it will not make contact to indicate the door is closed. I got that replaced again for another $140. Four months of that getting fixed and Im getting the same result, no functionality at all from the control panel. In other words, the control board is out again!Ive spent almost as much in repairs that I have for the dishwasher in the first place. As many have stated before, why are we not getting quality products anymore? I went to the Maytag website to see if there were any other additional recalls for this dishwasher, and the recall site was down, so I called. The lady on the phone, as pleasant as she was, indicated that the recall for the heater coil was already performed, which I already knew. I asked, due to the other problems Ive had and money Ive spent, if there were any additional recalls, and of course the reply was no. Im used to staying with a reputable company and providing loyalty to that company for quality products and service, even if I have to spend more initially in order to spend less overall. Obviously, Maytag is now out of the question for future business or referrals. This dishwasher is getting replaced before I put one more dime into it.

I bought our Maytag HE washer model #MVWC565FW back in July 2019 after having owned a Kenmore scratch and dent washer from Sears for approx 25 years, and in just one month of using it I knew it was a mistake. There are only 2 water levels - deep water (full tub) or practically no water (though there are a number of settings, there is no difference in water level, its just full drum or very very little water). The auto-sensor water level option is a joke - there is barely enough water to wash anything - its like going back hundreds of years to washing and beating your clothes on rocks. Items in the washer become so tangled it sometimes takes a while to detangle before placing in the dryer. Water stops filling the tub when lid is open - I can no longer wash and rinse delicates while the drum is filling. It took 3 calls w/ Customer Service to get an ADDITIONAL lid latch that I can use to trick the machine to thinking the lid is closed - I keep the actual lid open, then stick in the lid latch I bought - take it out when Im done hand rinsing. This also enabled to to view the washing in action - IT DOES NOTHING! Clothes stay in the same place as you placed them in the tub - they dont move, they dont wash - and I bought a washer with an agitator - that is in quotes because it is a misnomer with this brand! The wash cycles ARE SO LONG it takes all day to wash a few loads of laundry. Once you select a setting YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT - the washer empties and stops, then you have to start all over again - ENERGY AND WATER EFFICIENT...REALLY???? What a bunch of you know what! This is the most inflexible piece of junk I have ever had the displeasure of owning. I have to keep jugs of water on hand that I keep filling up to at least have a bit of water. When I called Cust. Svc. at the beginning telling them my experience - the person on the phone had nothing to contribute - they couldnt even tell me what cycles might fit my needs - they told me to go back to Home Depot and ask someone there! WORST APPLIANCE WORST COMPANY.

After only 4 years, the door handle of my $1200 range simply fell off. This seems to be a common problem with this range (Maytag Gemini Electric Double Oven), but what is inexplicable is why a part that perhaps is exposed to the most amount of pressure on a daily basis (opening and closing the oven door) would be held on with a plastic fitting! Approximately one week ago, the display on my fridge began to flash and ice door flap continuously opens and closes. Upon researching the issue, it seems to be a very common issue and a known defect. One in which was apparently a recall at one point. I was told by a Maytag representative that the recall was from 2007 to 2009 and has since expired. Expired? Its a known defect and should be the responsibility of Maytag to provide the parts and labor to repair the fridge. I asked for a supervisor and was told that one would contact me within 24 hours. Well, about a week later, I never received that call so I called Maytag again. This time I was told by the maytag representative and a supervisor that there was no recall and that it was a Quality issue. A play with words, in my opinion. Anyhow, regardless of the title the issue was given, I was told I would be responsible for the repairs and costs. I attempted to look up the recall on Maytags website and had seen the last two letters of the serial number to my fridge listed under the recall, but when I tried to investigate further, the site referred me to the 800 phone number I had been calling. Now, had this been an issue that was not a known defect and apparently a recall, I wouldnt be writing on this site right now. But, because it is a known defect that maytag is aware of, I think its Maytags responsibility to pay for the parts and labor for my fridge.

No motor is available for the Bravos washer machine which is 5 years old! Now the machine is garbage and I need to buy a new one. I thought Maytag was a great brand so I purchased the Bravos but now I understand from the company that no motor replacements are available!! Wtf? Maytag/Whirlpool dont care for loyal supporters so, I am TELLING EVERYONE not to purchase Maytag/Whirlpool appliances whose name has gone for a dump with this latest situation.

The glass shelves stop 2 1/2 inches from the back of the refrigerator. Things keep falling down in back. I have a counter depth. Cant afford to lose any space. Freezer poorly designed for space compared to one I had before.

Purchased washer less than 2 years ago. Loud noise like a jet engine or helicopter in spin cycle. Did not purchase the extended warranty. Called Whirlpool/ Maytag customer service. Was told I could have one of their repair people come out. I would have to pay $300 which would give me the repair and extended 1 yr warranty, or I could get $300 off toward a purchase of a new washer. Are you kidding me? This washer wasnt even 2 yr old and making this horrid noise in the spin cycle. I had to have a independent repairman for Maytag washers come out to tell me it wash the bearing and would cost 3 to 4 hundred dollars to fix it. I said no thanks and after his $90 service call am stuck listening to this piece of junk make noise till it completely breaks. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again or recommend one. Whirlpool you sell nothing but junk.

This washing machine just sprinkles water on your clothes then ties them up
This washing machine just sprinkles water on your clothes then ties them up in knots. And to add insult to injury, needs repairing every year or so. Horrible! It does have a couple of redeeming qualities, but they definitely dont outweigh the cons. It spins the clothes quite dry and has a large capacity. I have dogs and kids who play football and a husband who does construction, and its not unusual to find lumps of dirt and fur trapped in an article of clothing or blanket. All my bras and sweaters get ruined, it twists them up horribly. The blankets and sheets end up in a mushroom shape. Sad to say, NOT good. I like Maytag, but not BRAVOS.
