PROBLEM: Control Lock has been activated
FIX: Touch the Control Lock button, or (on older models) determine which button activates control lock from your Owner's Manual. Some models require you to press and hold the button.

CODE: dET
PROBLEM: Detergent cartridge not detected in the dispenser.
FIX: This is on select models. If you are using single-load doses of detergent, ignore this message. Ensure the dispenser cartridge is inserted correctly and the dispenser drawer is shut completely.

CODE: Int
PROBLEM: The cycle was paused or canceled.
FIX: The washer may take 20 to 30 minutes to stop spinning and drain, and will display this error code during that time. To remove the code, press pause or cancel button twice and the power button once. If the code is still displayed, unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.

CODE: rL or F34
PROBLEM: Items were detected in the washer during the Clean Washer cycle.
FIX: Remove items from the drum and restart the Clean Washer cycle.

CODE: Sud or Sd
PROBLEM: There are too many suds in the washing machine.

This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds.

Gemini Twin natural gas range - I bought this range approximately 18 months
Gemini Twin natural gas range - I bought this range approximately 18 months ago. I thought it had all the features I needed and it looked good -- looking good is just about all it does! If you are a real cook I would suggest you avoid this range. The burner controls are preset and it is impossible to turn the flame very low if a simmering heat is required. If you are making meringues, again, the oven heat cannot be turned to a cool enough temperature. Ovens bake/broil unevenly. It takes forever to bring a pot of water to a boil, not because the flame is not hot enough, but because the pots sit far too high above the flame. Bad, bad design. Probably designed by someone who eats take-out!!

We purchased a Maytag Neptune series washer/dryer set approximately 5 years ago. This is the 2nd time in 5 years that we were told by our local repair person that the drum of the dryer got bent out of shape. This is from normal use and due to a bad design on their end. Maytag refuses to foot the bill (about $350-$400) as it is out of warranty.

My Maytag (MDBH955AWB) dishwasher (not even 6 years old) is losing its prongs that help the dishes to stand up. They are corroded at the bottom and snap right off, leaving the dishes without support and banging into each other. We are only a family of 3 so it gets moderate to minimal use. The bottom basket costs $200 to replace, a third of the cost of a brand new dishwasher. Everything else about it is fine but my dishes will be chipping away. I cant believe Maytag made the basket so poorly that it doesnt last the lifetime of the dishwasher.

My Maytag range from the 1990’s is the easiest to clean top of the range I have ever had. Controlling the temperature of cooking is very easy. The oven is not as responsive As it takes about 10 minutes to preheat. Once heated it maintains an even temperature.

Bought a Maytag microwave model MMV4205DS and I too have had an issue with open/close door display. Just like other reviews Ive read it started out once in a while for the first year then began happening more often til it stopped working by the second year. I also read someone asking why there isnt a class action lawsuit? Good question. Way too many bad reviews on same issue. If I knew how and if we could start one then I would. Thought we could trust a company thats been around for so many years. Wish we had check into it more and I have learned from other products to do just that from now on. Have a backup microwave by GE from WalMart weve had for 10 yrs still working.

My Bravo washer does NOT clean my clothes. I have tried many detergents. I have to pre-treat all spots with dish soap and run hot water over and then rub the spots out. This was the only recommendation given after consulting with Maytag. I have to pre-soak my clothes in a pail of water with detergent. The water is brown. My clothes are dingy, spotted and have bleach spots. I am very careful so this is not from pouring into the bleach dispenser. Maytag was the reason I purchased this washer. Never again.

We purchased a Maytag double oven in November 18, 2008. I was baking and the top oven wasnt working. We called Maytag service number on the book we received when we purchased the oven. It took 25 minutes for someone to answer our call. The person did not know what our problem was. We thought it could be the ignitor. He transferred us to a parts person. That person didnt know the answer and hung up on my husband. How rude of him. We will never purchase another Maytag product. We will let our family and friends also know. You need to inform your personnel to know their products.

I purchased the Maytag metal interior two years ago, the very first year I had to replace the control panel board... Now, the panel went out again, after calling the Maytag executive office, they finally sent me the part, telling me I had to pay to get it fixed. That was just three months ago... Presently, the dishwasher has quit running water in the cycle... I will NEVER purchase another Maytag dishwasher... thinking you get The Best doesnt mean what you think... BEWARE...

I would like to start with, my Mother had always used Maytag washer and dryers. Her machines would last 20 years or more. I bought a Maytag front loader washer and dryer in 2006, since owning these machines have spent in upwards of $1400 in repairs. Some being flood out of tub, mother board blow out a couple of times as well as various other issues. The biggest problem is the awful smell of our clothes, I must wash clothes multiple times to try and remove these smells. I tried contacting Maytag and they dont want to hear my complaints and push me off to purchasing another washer and dryer. Oh, I will be buying a new washer and dryer it just will not be Maytag. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT buy another Maytag. This is not the same company my Mother knew and trusted.

Had some extra time, so I thought Id add my .02 to those including myself disgusted with Maytag products! 1st up, the Maytag washer and dryer I purchased from my nephew after his divorce. The washer shot craps 2 months after I bought it from him (out of warranty of course!). The transmission went out - cost to repair $550.00. My nephew paid $350.00 new at Sears. We happened to have our ol reliable clanking GE, so we used that while deciding what to do about the washer. In the meantime, the dryer quit heating. Cost to replace heating element - 400 smackers! Dryer new at Sears was $250.00.Come to find out that even though they had Maytag names on the washer/dryer, they were cheap copies by White/Westinghouse. Well anyway we bought a set of Whirlpool Duets before doing our homework, cuz if we knew what was gonna happen... Before we knew the trouble we were going to have with the washer/dryer, we got a Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher (Maytag Quiet Series 300 MDBTT60AWW). Yip, the control panel failing problem! Only purchased 1 so far (only 1?!), but my wife likes to hand wash the dishes. If we were the typical family using the dishwasher all the time, I would have replaced more than 1 at a cost of $135.00 each from Sears and doing my own R&R work, saving on the labor. Cost new at Lowes - $350.00Up next is the Maytag fridge. I purchased it back when our 2 boys were at home. I bought it mainly for the name and large capacity. After about a year (yip out of warranty) the cooling was very uneven. Sometimes the freezer would defrost by itself, then it would start working ok again. The top couple of racks in the fridge would be quite a bit warmer than the bottom. I understood the top racks would be a little warmer, but Im talking like 15 degrees. I called a repairman and told him about the problem. He said hes received numerous complaints on this particular fridge, and theres really no way to repair it unless the electronics are replaced as well as the compressor because as the compressor gets weak over time, the electronics get fouled up by this. Cost new - $1300.00. Estimate over the phone cost to repair - $950.00 with no guarantees. Replaced with a SamsungAs far as the Duets? No problems so far. They work great and we are very pleased by them. But I have did my research and am holding my breath! I also have a Maytag microwave thats still working, but has did a couple of unusual things - the lights in the front panel display started flashing showing a fault. I unplugged it when its did this to reset it. That was a while back and now it seems ok. At least for now! When someone says, Yeah, well, you might just have a lemon, but the rest of Maytags appliances are fantastic! My wife and I when we hear this are ready for a fight! Weve had experience with all of Maytags products, and with the exception of the Duets (so far), they are nothing but junk!! Another thing I wish to mention is the Samsung fridge. Its about the only model that has a factory 5-year warranty on the compressor and major components. Weve had several fridges in our married life, and the Samsung is far superior to any fridge weve owned. Ill be looking to that brand in the future. The last item I promise: If you read the reviews on front load washers, none of them get very good ratings. If I would have know that, I may have purchased a top load. But the Duet washer does do a superior job (IMO) cleaning the clothes, and the clothes are virtually dry after the last spin.

Maytag washer, model# mvwp575gw0, which is under warranty. This washer is less than one year old. Within the first couple months the transmission leaked oil and service tech had to replace the transmission. A few months later – another problem, clothes wet after spin cycle - tech told me the agitator base and/or couple parts need replaced. Quality control appears to have been lacking at the factory when this washer was made. This house has only one person presently. The washer was not abused.

Very poor quality. Vegetables freeze at the back of the fridge I have tried everything. The vegetable drawer constantly comes off its track and the freezer door slide jams and stops the door from closing. It leaves about 1/2 inch gap. Now the Whirlpool/Maytag company changed their corporate policy and wont allow an appliance store that to come out and fix the fridge I have to go back to the manufacturer. Their website wouldnt take my email address when I tried to sign up for an account and they wont answer the phone. What a hassle. Ill buy another brand next time but never GE or Whirlpool again!

Maytag Bravos XL top load. I purchased 2014. Three years old drum bearings went out, just two people in home. Very expensive to repair. Three years later I hear bearing going out again, in mean time had a F51 pop up and that means major failure call for service. I called Speed Queen and ordered a machine with all metal parts delivered the next day, and it is Made in America. I had purchased Maytag because of name but I will never purchase another Maytag. My friend had the same experience same time frames.

This Maytag bravo washing machine is the worst ever machine I have owned. I bought it new, and shortly after the 1 year warranty expired, I started having problems with it. I had a repairman come out. All he did was take out the trouble shooting guide, press a code, and wait. The machine told him that each function worked. Even though it did not work properly. He hid the trouble shooting guide inside the machine, so I cannot get to it. Now I have so many problems with this machine, that it takes me all day to do 1 load. This thing makes noises that I have never heard from a washing machine in my life. I would never buy another Maytag product, nor do I recommend anyone else to buy one.

Wish I had read the reviews! I have had Maytag before and they were awesome. New purchase is horrible! Doesnt clean the clothes, leaves a residue on clothing and dryer does not dry properly. Purchased a Maytag washer for my family of 8 because we do a lot of laundry and our Samsung washer failed after 3 years. I thought Maytag was a more reliable brand and was hopeful. The machine stopped working after less than 4 months of service. Manufacturers warranty repair came out and said it needed three new parts, motor, clutch and chip - said it would be another 2-3 weeks depending on parts. So all total without a washer for 4 weeks minimum - call the customer service people (first one was rude and short), 2nd one after 45 minutes on hold - told me the were no other options other than wait for the repair. Four months after a brand new washer and it failed. I requested a replacement option and they said no way. Their hotline talks about a positive customer experience and that seems to be a joke. Not helpful, super frustrated and they do not seem to care about the customer experience at all - terrible product and service

Updated on 01/21/2019: I have contacted Maytag numerous times with no results. I purchased a washer and dryer on 2/7/2018 and the dryer takes hours to dry my clothes. I contacted them 2 months after my purchase and then waited and contacted again and again. I have contacted them numerous time with nobody contacting me back. I want a complete full refund in the amount of $1031.06! I want to purchase another washer and dryer from someone else and purchase both so they match.Original Review: Maytag MCT Dryer - The washer I purchase is great but the dryer doesnt dry worth anything. Dont buy it. Takes me hours to dry one load and the only reason I purchased this was because my old dryer was drying less but actually was better than this one. The time sensored dryer isnt worth 5 cents. So disappointed! I have had it 2 months, paid cash at Lowes and so unhappy!

We purchased a new Maytag french door refrigerator and from day one had issues with the ice maker. After three replacements Maytag informed me that this was an inherent issues and no fix available. So we had a $2000+ refrigerator with a non-functioning ice maker. Our 20 year old Frigidaire continues to make ice with no issues. Then the control panel lights started blinking and evidently this is also a known problem and when I called Maytag to buy the part, they said SORRY we dont offer parts on our appliances over 6 years old. Just had the repairman here. This machine is computerized so it won’t last. It does not have a setting that lets me do any load of laundry the way I need to do it. I have to use heavy duty to do a load and then it takes 2 hours. When I want to do a load of sweaters on delicate it will not put near enough water in the machine to wash them. The normal cycle does not add enough water to wash, let alone rinse the clothes. I can’t choose the size of the load based on how much I need to wash so I have to do more loads at 2 hours each or do everything on bulky. Whoever came up with all this needs to be fired. I am extremely unhappy with this machine and I have loved Maytag for years. No more.

I purchased a Maytag Electric Range (Model: MER7662WS1) at Lowes in February 2011. After few months, we found many rusty areas on the stainless oven door and on the stainless drawer. On 9/8, I called Maytag at 1-800-688-9900 to complain that stainless steel is not supposed to rust. A representative took the initiative to schedule A&E Factory Service to come to my house for a warranty repair, and assigned me an order # 40629499. I did not request for this service call and naturally, I regard this as a warranty service or a service of quality check of a product. On 9/19, a technician came to check the rusty area and confirmed that the stainless steel have rusted and the rust will eat through the panel. The technician called Maytag, and got the answer that Maytag will not pay for his visit because its not under warranty. The technician then checked the warranty manual, but could find not any statement that neither rust is cosmetic nor rust is not covered. The technician asked me to pay $132 for his five-minute checking service. I was so upset and called Denice at A&E Factory Service at 1-800-905-9505 to bill Maytag directly. She ignored my request and said that I should take it to Maytag. After a couple of hours waiting, holding and transferring, I explained to two Maytag customer service representatives my problem, only to get a Sorry, its not covered, its cosmetic, reply. I insisted talking to a manager and finally got Melinda at Care Solution Team. She, too, refused to waive the charge for me and claimed herself as a supervisor and decision maker and theres no one above her who could resolve this issue.I emphasized that A&E service call was authorized by Maytag, I did not order the service. Who would have thought that a service authorized by manufacturer is not covered under warranty? Besides, this representative failed to inform me that rust would not be covered, she should have known better. Therefore, I believe that the person who initiated the service call to A&E should be held accountable. But Melinda never wanted to agree with this logic and kept saying, We dont force customer to have home service. You are liable for the bill. She refused to pay for the service and forced me to pay the bill from the mistake they made. She even refused to give out the persons ID # and name of the person who called A&E. She only documented my complaint--whats the point of their documentation? If this is the tactic that Maytag is using to categorize rust as cosmetic (if rust can damage material, then you should not call it cosmetic), and ban customers from claiming the rust damage so they can use poor quality of stainless steel on their appliances to save the cost, then, it is dishonest to advertise that this oven is stainless.A representative even said that Maytag should have emailed me with the confirmation of service call and noted that its a non-warranty service. Also, A&E should have informed me before arrival that the service is not covered. All these were not true. First, I did not receive such email from Maytag or Whirlpool. If Maytag would have warned me with non-covered policy such as this, they should have the courtesy to call me in case the email was unreliably routed to spam box. A&E only informed me that they are coming the next day, but no such thing as telling me that the service will not be covered. Even their technician did not know about the non-covered issue, and had to call Maytag today to find out.Had the person who scheduled the service told me that the rust on the stainless panels is not covered under warranty, will I still allow the service call and agree to pay $132 for a five-minute checkup and watch the technician leave without performing any repair? I asked Melinda to let me talk to her supervisor but she said that theres no one who can talk to me, and the only way to appeal is to write to the companys executives. The address is: Whirlpool Corporate Office553 Benson Rd Benton Harbor, Michigan 49022. I doubt that an appeal will help me at all. I will take this matter to small claim court, I wont let them force me to pay the bill when I am not at fault.

I purchased a Maytag microwave oven on July 22, 2011. It was delivered August 2. Model no. MMV4203DW, serial no. CK01001086. I paid $279 at Lowes Spokane Valley WA. I made a family brand name dinner for six in the original black carton, put the rack into the microwave, followed all the directions as the microwave was new. The carton melted inside and burned a place where the rack had rested. This melted before the time was up. I had followed all the directions. This was the first incident that was a problem. Next incident was a large bag of popcorn (microwave has two settings for popcorn--large or small). This burned the bag black before the allowed automatic setting. Third incident was another bag of popcorn, which resulted to a fire. I tried putting it out with a large lid, which now has permanent black smoke stains. The fire was so hot I could not remove the popcorn bag. I had to use two pancake spatulas to throw it outside where it continued to have flames and burned itself out. The next fire was with a baked potato. This was set for a regular potato setting. This fire was great flames. I tried putting this out with salt and a pan lid. I also removed it with a large metal strainer, an Asian type which is large, and used another spatula to scoop the flaming potato and took it outside while it continued to burn. This time the microwave burned itself out. All lights would not function so I unplugged it from the outlet. I have repeatedly told Ava that I had previously owned a Kenmore convection microwave and the only time I used the rack was when I baked something. She continued to ignore this and said that I used the rack to make popcorn, baked potato, etc.

Bought this stove in 2011. 9 months ago I had a 300$ repair for fuses to two out of the five stove top burners. Several days ago the ovens were not lighting and I called for repair again. Well the ignition switch in the lower oven had a frayed wire from the factory which created an issue with the control panel. Today I was quoted 600$ to repair the ignition switch and the main control board. PARTS ONLY. I am not repairing this stove. Called Maytag due to the issue of a defective ignition switch wire and got nowhere. Very poor quality product.

I bought this Maytag oven (MEW 7627HB) to replace a 20-year-old GE double oven. Upon the first use, I found that it has noisy cooling fans which run continuously as soon as it is turned on and, for some time, after it is turned off. These fans make an irritating, loud, whistling noise. The dealer responded to my complaint, pulled the oven out and performed a complete system test. He then called engineers at the Whirlpool factory, who told him that the fans were a recent redesign made because the previous design didnt satisfactorily cool the electronic control circuit and that there was nothing to be done about the noise. After several weeks, the oven, when in use, continues to stink of overheated electronics. I fear it wont last long.Note that my old GE model, which also had electronic controls, didnt run a fan at all unless both ovens had been on for some time or the self-cleaning feature had been on for a while. And it didnt make a loud noise.

Have a Bravo Quiet Series 300, does not clean clothes because on not enough water to wash with. Have to set it on Bulk to have it clean good enough. The way it agitate and rotate the clothes turns the wash into knotted pretzels (this also makes it harder to clean the clothes) which in turn makes the spin cycle vibrate badly. Cannot put wash in and leave because of this.

Buyer Beware! This is by far the WORST washing machine (Maytag Bravo) I have ever owned! The complaints are almost too numerous to list. Among them: Noise level is atrocious, water level is always low and cannot be adjusted, suds do not wash off, clothes do not come clean and get beaten up, takes an hour plus to do a load of laundry, frequently comes unbalanced, do not feel I can leave the house with this running, service calls have provided no fix, Maytag does not care. Do not buy! Saving my pennies to buy a different brand, will never touch a Maytag product again, Surprised there is not a Class Action lawsuit pending. When there is, Ill be right on board.

I have burned myself time after time when attempting to pull the racks in or out. Friends arrived and when we pulled cooked dinner out the rack fell through and it was so hot I could not hold it causing the entire dinner to come crashing down and spilling everywhere. I along with my family cannot use it again. Can anyone assist or make a recommendation? New racks do not work as it appears that oven has expanded and the dimension have changed. Do they have a recall or safety repair bulletin?

After having a Maytag washer/dryer set that lasted 20 years, I decided to go with Maytag again. Big mistake! Centennial Dryer has already broke down and the parts, before the overcharged shipping, was over $100. I wish I had done some research. Maytag is no longer Maytag, it was purchased by Whirlpool. Hence the lack of quality. Not only that, I dislike doing business with heartless companies that just close shop & let loyal employees go while paying upper management fat severance pay. Then Whirlpool changed the vested lifetime benefits of the Maytag retirees. Will not buy another Maytag appliance and will never purchase a Whirlpool product.

I purchased an Atlantis washer in 2005 and assumed that Maytag was still one of the better manufacturers. How naive of me! What genius at Maytag thought it was a good idea to place the water filter inside the washer? Not only can you not keep the filter clean so that cold water will flow properly, even worse, if the filter completely clogs, the water will not stop filling into the tub which could, of course cause an overfill and flood. I narrowly escaped this scenario once. No one should have to stand and watch their machine fill with water to insure it stops. Now the machine is causing a grinding noise when agitating. I expect it to stop working any day. I will not buy another Maytag or Whirlpool, who of course now owns Maytag. And I will not pay another repair bill for the filter or any other part. The brand was once considered the best in America, now its just another brand thats a piece of junk produced in another country.

Do not purchase this microwave! I checked the reviews and thought they couldnt all have the same problem. THEY DO! This Maytag Microwave MMV4205DS1 has some faulty switch in the door latch mechanism. The warranty repair company came and adjusted the switches... and then fully replaced the switches. Each time it worked for about 30-60 days and then the same error would repeat itself. Never resolved... buying a different microwave. Be sure to check all reviews for repetitive complaints. This microwave will NOT function AT ALL with the door open/close message. Here are the details of our microwave. Purchased from Home Depot December 2015. First experienced the open/close door message around June 2016 (6 months after purchase). With the open/close door message, the interior light will not come on, the keypad will accept entries but will give the open/close door message as soon as start is pressed. Repaired under warranty August 2016. Repairman tightened and replaced one of the two fuses behind the metal plate. Also moved the door connectors as far as they would go to help with the door sensor issue. Worked until mid-December. Same message reappeared. Called repair company. Still under warranty. He order new switch parts and installed in January 2017. Microwave worked for 2 months. Then same exact door/open close message. Called repair company. Since we do not have an extended warranty, the parts would be covered but not the labor. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MICROWAVE or any other microwave that has reviews listing a door open/close issue. It will not go away! ...and you will be very frustrated.

I forked over the $$$ to have the part replaced and installed. Now, 2 years later the panel is once again slowly dying. I just got off the phone with the Maytag people and they refuse fix it and take responsibility for the product failure. The machine has worked adequately for me aside from the control panel issues. The control panel was built to break. Shame on Maytag! Lets go forward with the class action lawsuit!!!

We bought this Maytag Bravos top loading washer 2 years ago after having bad luck with a front loading Maytag. Maytag was always the top brand to buy so I thought it was the style washer but now I believe Maytag has failed to keep their standard of quality high. My clothes come out of the washer almost dry and full of lint. Even though I use the HE wash soap, it does rinse out of the clothes. Dark clothes come out with a noticeable scum so I suppose the lighter clothes do, as well, I just cant see it. I sometimes have to wet the clothes down to get them clean and I always have to double rinse them which defeats the whole economy issue. Im not happy with this washer and would not recommend anyone to buy a Maytag brand washer.

We owned the washer for 2 years and 2 days when we got a code F70. After searching online, I found hundreds, if not thousands, of reviews and self-help forums that show this product is in dire need of a recall. The problem I had is the motor control unit (MCU), which is a $225 to $275 part online. However, Maytag will only replace the board under extended warranty with a refurbished board that they say costs $330, whereas they say the new one is over $600. Why is it that Maytag charges double what everyone else charges? If so many people are having these problems, it is obviously a defect and should not be the consumer’s responsibility. It is obvious that this is too common of a problem.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher on June 2008. This new Maytag dishwasher replaced an older Maytag dishwasher that caught fire and was recalled (I found this out after calling Maytag). The new dishwasher (Model: MDB 5601 AWB) also had a recalled part (heater coil) in February 2011. Two months ago, (the unit is now 3 years old), the control board started malfunctioning (certain cycles no longer work). I called Maytag today (Aug 24, 2011) but I was told by a Maytag representative that there was nothing that they could do. After reading so many complaints, I am ready to file a class action suit. Maytag Centennial Impeller HE Washing Machine - The seller left this piece of junk for us. I wondered why because it appeared brand new. After the first washing I knew why. I sure regretted leaving my old set behind. This washing machine wont let you add the amount of water you need. I had to add buckets of water and hope it didnt just empty it out because the sensor controls everything. Twice it just emptied it after I closed the lid and it locked. There is an impeller instead of an agitator. It moves slightly but not enough to move the clothes. To top it off the spin cycle tears into the clothing and twists and wrings it so hard everything is wrinkled with soap residue remaining even on delicate. Each load takes over an hour and the clothes arent even clean. It went to the dump after 4 washes. I went on Craigslist and purchased a used Kenmore and am in heaven. No lock, an agitator, 3 water levels, clean clothing, you can open it and add the missing sock, no sensor controlling how you want to do laundry and no more buckets. Dont buy a Maytag. Look at all of the reviews. They arent exaggerating, they are really that bad. Thank you.

When we first purchased our fridge, I was super excited. I have read the numerous reviews regarding ice in the bottom and the noise. Ours is noisy also. Nothing I cant live with. Now ice on the bottom. That doesnt work for me. A friend of ours told us the drain was plugged. Not that the doors needed to be replaced, nor does it need gaskets. All you need is a hair dryer and a man like mine who can build or fix anything (honest to God that is the truth). He took the drawers out and then removed the door to the freezer. In the center on the back of the fridge is a drain hole. Aim a hair dryer in this spot and it will melt the ice which is plugging the drain. Ours took about three years to have the water in the bottom issue. Since we have now seen where the drain hole is, there would be no need to take the door off and the drawers out. Now, one other preventive measure. Take off the lower back plate of the fridge. At the beginning of the drain hose is a rubber nipple. There is barely any room for the water to drain. We cut the end of the nipple off in order to make the water drain better and less likely to stop up. We just snipped a bit of the end. The reason it is designed like that is to prevent air from coming into the. Just a small snip. I hope this may help some of you. Tell the Maytag repairmen how to fix it.

Parts of them feel dry. My dryer seems to be ok. Comforters are a pain as the load always gets unbalanced. Lately it wont finish a load. I get LD all the time. Have to unplug the washer and wait for it to cut off before cutting it back on. Then I cannot just rinse or spin. It fills back up with water and I get the same LD again. I, too, have had major problems with this Maytag refrigerator! We have experienced everything from a malfunctioning ice maker, flashing control panel, overloaded compressor, erratic freezer (freezes much of the fridge contents), and doors not staying closed/inadvertently popping open. We have owned this fridge since 2007 and have repaired the ice maker and the freezing problems on our own dime. When the clicking sound woke the entire house up at 5 am, I finally decided to post! I realize that appliances are not perfect, and that Maytag had the best of intentions when designing and producing this product, but what really infuriates me is that Maytag has known about this widespread inherent problem since late 2006! Why no recall? Why no notice? Why no assistance? When I called the customer service line this morning, the representative acted like shed never even heard of this fridge having problems - yeah, right. All you have to do is Google the model number or just Maytag fridge panel flashing and clicking problem to discover thousands of similar complaints. I do not fault Maytag for manufacturing a less than perfect appliance, but I do hold them accountable for adequately repairing/replacing such a rampant and unsafe (compressor overload) product! Maybe it is time for a class action. Something needs to be done to protect the consumer from a company that is so slow to correct a long-standing and potentially dangerous problem!

Purchased this machine (Maytag Bravo Washer) in May, 2015. Drive motor blew Jan, 2017. 18 mo. old. 10 year parts warranty and a tag on the machine that reads MCT (Maytag commercial Technology), which leads the consumer to believe this heavy duty machine. I called the warranty number, as I had properly registered the machine on the day of install. Said he would have a new drive motor out to me in 7 to 10 weeks. Yes. WEEKS. Really? I advised the operator that 3 parts stores in my area had the part available, and asked if there wasnt something we could do. He said no they are back ordered. How is it that Maytag cant get their own parts. I purchased the motor for 118.00 and my clothes are now washing again. NICE job Maytag. I suggest finding another company to buy your appliance from. Promises made are not promises kept. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MACHINE.

Please save your money and do not purchase a the Bravos XL MCT Washer and Dryer! I am sickened by the fact that I spent $1,800 on the biggest pieces of junk there ever was. Youd think a company like Maytag would be able to build a product that worked properly. We are getting ready for our FIFTH visit by a service repair company that will only plug in their computers and say nothing is wrong. Well here is what is wrong: Washer does not rinse all of the soap and I have many, MANY, pieces of dark clothing that are ruined because of the white streaks all over. I have done EVERYTHING the service guys have said to do; use less soap; use the deep water wash cycle, etc. etc. There are only two of us in the household so my average load size fills the EXTRA LARGE drum maybe half full so all their advice hasnt worked. It does not rinse the water out of a load of towels (remember there are only two us so not that many towels) and I have to run it through a rinse and spin cycle. Waste of time, energy, AND money. I washed a single coverlet and had to run it through a rinse and spin cycle twice to get the water out! If you use the bedding cycle, it runs for 90 minutes and still doesnt spin all the water out! The dryer is not better either. On average, it takes one hour and ten minutes to dry 3 bath towels, a couple of hand towels and a wash cloth. One of the service people that came out, checked our dryer vent and said everything was hooked up correctly. Talk about a waste of energy!! I would do anything to get rid of these pieces of junk but we spent so much money on them Im stuck until I win the lotto or something! I cannot stress enough that you will be wasting your money if you buy any washer and/or dryer product from Maytag! Believe me, I regret it every day!

After much communication with Maytag Customer Service it was determined that there is no way to bypass it. And it uses a lot of hot water, even on a cold wash. I have a basic Maytag dishwasher circa 2012. Not sure of the model number. It works well, no fancy features but everything you really need is there. My only real complaint is that the heat dry cycle always seems to leave the dishes a little wet, but thats common enough for dishwashers. It cleans nicely and hasnt had any issues or breaks in 3+ years. Basic. Three wash cycles (light, normal, heavy); Extra rinse option, extra hot option, and heat dry or eco-dry (i.e. no dry). Nice big rinse aid dispenser. Its not that roomy inside. Id say the size is average. It looks nice - its white and unobtrusive. It works really well with Cascade dish pods. The bottom rack is kind of a pain if your plates are curved more than usual.

I bought a Maytag washer November Thanksgiving of 2013. This washer started giving problems three months after; problems such as the cycle stop turn over properly, the light would say wash but its not washing. It would just stop but the light stuck on wash for long periods of time. Press the pause/start/cancel button, it would sometimes start again and stop and let out the water quickly. The clothes would be filled with water and not wash properly. This the funny part, serious funny part. I contacted Maytag on countless time. They had me on hold so long I had to hang up; a hold for hour I am talking about. One day I finally got through. They gave me a number to contact because where I am located there is no tech. I never got anyone but the machine when I called the number after countless times of trying. I decided to called back Brandsmart, because I just think its not right and fair to me to purchase a washer for so much, to had it shipped for more money. It didnt last me NO time at all and I cannot get any help. Well! Brandsmart told had to have paid export shipping, something I never was offered and since I took it out of the country, there is nothing they can do for me. I hunted for my receipt and to this day I I still have it. All was offered was warranty parts and labor for a month, thirty days. I said no because I would not think anything would go wrong in that short period of time. Nevertheless was not offered any export shipping warranty like what they are trying to ** me with. Here is my receipt number **. I grieve presently how I was just robbed of my money so openly when all I wanted was a replacement.

One year ago I bought a Maytag Micro-wave and a Maytag dishwasher - big mistake. I should have done some homework. I had problems with the dishwasher since the day it was installed. I should have suspected something was wrong when it was delivered. I opened my front door and there stood a deliveryman holding my dishwasher in his arms. He said, Where do you want it? I couldnt believe he could be carrying it by himself, especially since it took three of us to move out the old Thermador which by the way was still working just fine after almost 30 years. But my wife insisted on a new washer for her new kitchen. The Thermador was actually made of steel. The new Maytag was made of plastic even the motor. It had some steel and copper parts but mostly plastic. I dont think it weighed forty pounds. The problems began the first day with leaks through the door and under it. I suppose eight or nine service calls happened in the next 3 months. The factory service men were different each time and each had their own guess as to what caused the leaks. Over time they replaced all the parts that could be leaking some of them twice, because subsequent servicemen discovered that a previous service man had installed the wrong parts. We often had to wait several weeks because replacement parts were not on hand, and would be ordered and shipped directly to us. Then we would have to schedule another service call, only to find out the wrong parts came - more delays. One service man told us we were using the wrong detergent, even though it was the detergent and spot-free rinse that came with it. Another service man removed the door cover so he could watch to see where it was leaking when it operated. He said the soap was foaming too much and flooding over, so we had to try another brand of soap, even though by now we had accumulated three other brands that were just barely used. The service men never did fix the problem. It took much experimentation from my wife to stop the leaks, which meant we could only use a fraction of the recommended amount soap. By now we were using so little soap that the dishes always came out dirty. So our choice was mop up a wet floor or have dirty dishes every time. Most of the time now we wash the dishes in the sink. One service man said in Maytags effort to make the dishwashers more efficient, and less expensive to build that the motor and pump were way under powered, and everything was made from petro-chemical by-products (cheap plastic) and that we should invest in the extended warranty. Its cheaper than paying service calls when the warranty runs out soon. What we should have done was exchanged it for another brand. My wife said had she only known, we would have never replaced the old Thermador which will be my next dishwasher. As for the micro-wave there are many things I dislike about it especially the rectangle glass tray which is extremely awkward to remove and replace each time you have to clean out crumbs and spills which happen often. The timer on/off bell is way too quiet with no volume control. The message and operation display is difficult to understand. And to top it off the cheap plastic handle broke one week after the warranty ran out which I found out that its less expensive to buy a whole new door than pay for parts and a service call to repair handle. Maytags track record made me not want to deal with service dept. again. I will probably be money ahead to trash the two appliances, start over and do some homework and maybe buy a European made appliance. I know German technology is not all about profit making, but quality, reliability, durability. I hate to sound un-American but greed in American corporations will be their downfall.

I dislike Sears and more so Maytag. I bought a Maytag Bravo XL MCT. It worked nice with very few hiccups until 1 1/2 years old. Then the washer went to the lock and done mode, thought it might be the lid switch down the washer up. Looks like I would need to change out the whole panel. Its not worth the trouble OR time to put one dollar to repair the piece of **.

Like so many other consumers, I was drawn to the Maytag name because of what I thought was the high quality of their products and their stellar reputation. So when our old wall-mount oven failed, I sought out a replacement from the Maytag line. I purchased a model MEW5530WDDB17 in 2011 and had it professionally installed. It worked well for a couple of years. Then, suddenly, three of the numbers on the digital control panel stopped working, making it impossible to set the oven to any temperature that included a 4, a 2 or a 5. When I contacted Maytag, I was informed that the unit was out of warranty, but that I could schedule a service call. I had already researched this issue online and knew that the service person would inform me that I needed a new control board and that one could be installed for around $300, and that the new board would come with a 90 day warranty. When I asked the person to whom I was speaking, she said that she had no further information for me. I know that a lot of others have had this same issue with their Maytag range/ovens, and many of them agree with me that we will never purchase another Maytag product.

I sent an email to Maytag regarding my Maytag Bravos washer which I purchased two years ago at a cost of $1,100. I have started having problems with the machine last week. I kept getting the UL error code. I called a certified appliance person to come out to find out what was wrong. I do not believe any of the appliance people know what to do for these machines.First, I was told it was the control board that needed to be replaced, then I was told the motor had a crack in it and it needed to be replaced, and then the springs needed to be replaced. So they replaced the springs. This was a Tuesday afternoon. It worked fine until Wednesday of the next week and I started getting the F51 code. Just let me say if you cannot stand behind your parts on a $1,100 washer that is only two years old, then something is very wrong. I am in for $159 on repairs so far. Who knows what the cost will be to finally get the machine repaired.

Not yet two years old, my Maytag Bravos dryer stopped working. When I called a technician to see what the problem was, he told me that the circuit board was burned out and it would be $500.00 to replace. I then called Maytag to find out if there was a problem with this machine and was told no. This apparently is a lie as there were numerous complaints when I checked the internet. I have five Maytag appliances and at this point, only one has not caused a problem. Maytag is not the company of the past when if you had a Maytag, you had the best. The repairman no longer sits around with nothing to do.

We purchased a complete, upper-end Maytag kitchen package from Lowes. So far, the MMV5208WS microwave has gone out 3 times; it was the magnetron all 3 times. The last time was a few weeks after the warranty ran out. After a lot of discussions with Lowes management, they then took it back and gave me choice of any brand. We picked a Samsung and have had no problems so far.As for the MDB8859AWS dishwasher, it was just stuck under the counter for the first 6 months of its life, because we were in the middle of a remodel and it wasnt plumbed in yet. Once we got it working, my wife loved it. Weve used it maybe 40-50 times since she was still hand-washing small sink-loads of dishes. A month or so out of warranty, it went out. There were no lights on the keypad and everything was dead. We thought it was the main control board, but it wasnt. Next, I tried the keypad, because Ive read many posts about these 2 things seeming to always go out on these models. I still have the fridge and stove, and hopefully they fare better than the microwave and dishwasher. What kills me is when I look at my old Maytag dishwasher and Samsung counter top microwave in the garage; both 15-20 years old and still worked just fine after getting replaced. It has never had a repair of any kind. I went out and spent $639.00 (it was on sale, the regular price was $799) on a ** dishwasher and it didnt even last a year. The microwave was close to $400, and it was on sale. I think my old Samsung microwave cost $79.99 when I bought it. You used to get what you paid for!

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher #MDB7749SBM1 as part of a complete kitchen remodel less than 3 years ago. Maytag was a great product years ago so I thought I would switch from GE to Maytag thinking that I had purchased a quality set that would give me years of great service! What a bad choice to say the least! This dishwasher has never dried the dishes completely with heated dry option. I never cared for the plastic latch and metal catch option either since I caught water dripping from the bottom since the door must not have been completely shut even though the latch was secure. Most recently, the start option on the flat control panel will not work. After opening and closing door multiple times I can get the start option to light up and run the cycle. Added bonus to start option not working correctly is that when the dishwasher door is shut, it automatically runs hours later with no human interaction. The dishwasher lights were lit up like a Christmas tree at 7 am this morning and running a cycle. Guess it thought the dishes werent clean enough. I am going to price out a board and determine whether I will throw this piece of crap in the dumpster and find a different brand! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DONT BUY A MAYTAG DISHWASHER!

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.

I purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM dishwasher just over 2 years ago. After owning for 1.5 years, the control board malfunctioned. After discussions with Maytag customer service that began in late December 2014, it was finally repaired in February 2015, with the control board being completely replaced. Within just a few months the dishwasher again fails. The first time, it would not stop running. This time, it will not run at all. I called customer service today (August 1, 2015) and they expect me to pay for the repair. It is easy to Google and find multiple review sites that indicate hundreds of consumers have similar problems, but Maytag will not acknowledge any issue, as the customer service rep indicated today (she said her information showed no recalls). Within two years I am now faced with paying $600+ for a dishwasher for a second time. This is terrible customer service on Maytags part. They have lost my business and I am warning consumers on every platform I have.

The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

We bought MDB7759AWB Maytag dishwasher in 2011. It worked decently until now when it stopped delivering water to the upper rack. The cleaning quality on the lower rack also dropped significantly although it might be due to the lack of water delivery to the upper rack. Apparently there is something wrong with the internal pump. The Maytag service offered a repair for $300+ which I rejected because this is a ridiculous cost and I would rather buy a different dishwasher. My conclusion is that if you buy Maytag dishwasher you need to factor about $300+ for the repair(s) in 5 years as apparently they do when they sell you this product. Anyway, even though Maytag was a decent brand a long time ago (probably in the past century), it is not reliable anymore. It does not mean it has to be much worse than many others but if you are looking for something better than those others I would not recommend Maytag.

The water drainage tube on the Maytag Refrigerators is DEFECTIVE and needs
The water drainage tube on the Maytag Refrigerators is DEFECTIVE and needs to be replaced during manufacturing of the appliances!!!!!!! The existing drainage tube kit in the appliance has a very tiny opening for the water to drain and what was not factored in during this manufacturing of the refrigerators was bacteria and dirt build up from the water draining to CLOG this very TINY opening in the existing drainage tube system. This results in the water having no place to drain except causing an ice build up in the freezer and then water draining onto the floor when it has no where to drain in the appliance. I am told by my reputable Maytag repairman, who also needed the same repair, that replacing the water tube drain #W10619951 occurs with customers 4-8 times PER WEEK in his practice. This is obviously an ONGOING defect that Whirlpool is IGNORING and needs to be addressed and corrected with some type of compensation for its customers. The service call and the replacement of the drain tube kit #W10619951 cost me $122.31. My Maytag refrigerator with a bottom freezer is less than 3 years old.Amazing also if you google MAYTAG refrigerator leaking water there is a MULTITUDE of youtube videos and websites instructing the consumer on HOW to replace this part in the refrigerator. Obviously there is a strong need for this instructional information to the consumer for this repair since it is an ONGOING PROBLEM that has not been addressed legally with manufacturer. Action needs to be taken. I am saving the original part that was removed from the appliance in case a class action remedy is necessary to correct this costly defect in the Maytag Refrigerators.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen
Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag! On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

I purchased this washer from Lowe’s on 8/9/2017. After 3 years and 2 months, this washer would no longer power up. I tried resetting it by unplugging it and lifting lid 6 times. It didn’t work. The extended warranty from Lowe’s expired on 8/9/20. I called a technician and he found it need a control panel and control board. He suggested that I call Maytag to see if they would give me the parts as a courtesy since the washer was only three years old. I contacted them and experienced long wait times (51 minutes was the longest). I spent a total of 3 hours on the phone with them. They said no there was nothing they could do for me since the manufacturers warranty ended 2 years ago and the “mother control panel” doesn’t fall under 10-year motor warranty. Well, there’s no need for a motor warranty if there’s no power to the unit! The cost of the parts would be almost $600. It is shameful to not stand behind your product. I would expect to have to replace an iron or a juicer after 3 years, but not a washer. This was a major blow to how I would view the way they do business. I purchased the extended warranty from Lowe’s. I will never do that again. It was a waste of money. They didn’t make any concessions for me either. They kept saying it was a manufacturers issue.

They only had one service company in our area to work on the washer. I called them and it took them 10 days to come see what is wrong. Ordered parts. Said it would be 2 weeks. We are now 6 weeks into this with no parts. Called customer service and they said they were notified that their service company needed a part and would take another 21 days to resolve. Talked to a supervisor (Demetrius) who sounded like he did NOT want to be in that position. Offered no solution other than we will just have to wait. Threw a 3 month extension for the warranty on which still does not fix the problem. Sad to see this company go down the tubes as it was once a pretty decent business with solid products. No longer.

The machine has left pin-sized holes in finer clothing since we first used it. I had purchased the extended warranty so they were called out to repair the issue four times during the warranty. They replaced the drum, but I still get holes. I think it is because there isnt enough water to rotate the clothing and it rubs repeatedly against the same spot on the other clothing. I have a see-through lid and you can see that the clothing just moves very slightly in the same position. I separate all clothing that has a zipper or any trim that may rub against the finer fabrics, but I am still getting pin-sized holes. We requested compensation or a new machine. We purchased a Maytag dishwasher model number mdb7749sbm in April 2013. March of 2015 the controls stopped working completely. We looked online and instantly found it was a problem among many others, and said it was a result of corroded ribbon cable. We opened the panel and, sure enough, inside the ribbon cable the electrical wires were completely rusted through! We called Maytag, and, of course, despite the numerous complaints of the same problem, they would only fix it if we paid $250, or send us a replacement part for $350 to fix ourselves. Not going to spend that much on a dishwasher that already cost $600 and only lasted 22 months! We are attaching a picture that shows after we tried cleaning the rust (when Maytag refused to fix it) how much of the electrical wires disintegrated! We tried soldering a small wire to connect it again, but the ribbon was so thin it just melted right through.

Thats not the case. There is enough water to run over all the clothes. It doesnt agitate enough to even move the clothes around. The clothes basically sit at the bottom of the tub in the water doing nothing. This Maytag Bravo washer will be returned tomorrow. Me and my wife are highly disappointed. Our Maytag refrigerator is leaking water all over my kitchen floor to the point that my floor tile has lifted. The ref. is a French door with water and ice in the door and freezer on the bottom. We have been cleaning up puddles of water at least several times a day. I see that this is not an isolated problem, as others have complained about this defect doing the same thing with their Maytag refs. Why hasnt ConsumerAffairs demanded a recall on these expensive defective refrigerators to date? I am truly disgusted.
