Maytag Lavadora Garantia
Maytag home products include a range of powerful kitchen and laundry appliances and HVAC systems that are built to last. On the rare occasion that a broken machine derails your daily routine, you need a warranty to cover your Maytag product.
Manufacturer€s warranty € This warranty only covers appliances and electronics manufactured under a specific brand. For example, Maytag appliances or parts may be covered for several years under a Maytag manufacturer€s warranty.
Extended warranty € Manufacturers and third-party providers often offer extended warranties, which are extended service contracts that protect you after the Maytag appliance warranty expires.
Home warranty € This is a service contract that covers regular wear and tear of major home appliances regardless of brand name or age. It€s different than home insurance, as it doesn€t cover events that may damage an appliance. Instead, it€s meant to help pay for repairs that are anticipated in the long term.
Homeowners insurance € Homeowners insurance is a required form of insurance coverage that is specific to structural damage or property loss caused by theft, natural disasters, and specific occurrences.
LIMITED WARRANTY
For one year from the date of purchase, when this major appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, the Maytag brand of Whirlpool Corporation or Whirlpool Canada LP (hereafter €Maytag€) will pay for factory specified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service must be provided by a Maytag designated service company. This limited warranty is valid only in the United States or Canada and applies only when the major appliance is used in the country in which it was purchased. Outside the 50 United States and Canada, this limited warranty does not apply. Proof of original purchase date is required to obtain service under this limited warranty.
ITEMS EXCLUDED FROM WARRANTY
This limited warranty does not cover:
1. Service calls to correct the installation of your major appliance, to instruct you on how to use your major appliance, to replace or repair house fuses, or to correct house wiring or plumbing.
2. Service calls to repair or replace appliance light bulbs, air filters, or water filters. Consumable parts are excluded from warranty coverage.
3. Repairs when your major appliance is used for other than normal, single-family household use or when it is used in a manner that is contrary to published user or operator instructions and/or installation instructions.
4. Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, flood, acts of God, improper installation, installation not in accordance with electrical or plumbing codes, or use of consumables or cleaning products not approved by Maytag.
5. Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, chips, or other damage to the finish of your major appliance, unless such damage results from defects in materials or workmanship and is reported to Maytag within 30 days from the date of purchase.
6. Any food loss due to refrigerator or freezer product failures.
7. Costs associated with the removal from the home of your major appliance for repairs. This major appliance is designed to be repaired in the home and only in-home service is covered by this warranty.
8. Repairs to parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to the appliance.
9. Expenses for travel and transportation for product service if your major appliance is located in a remote area where service by an authorized Maytag servicer is not available.
10. The removal and reinstallation of your major appliance if it is installed in an inaccessible location or is not installed in accordance with published installation instructions.
11. Major appliances with original model/serial numbers that have been removed, altered, or cannot be easily determined. This warranty is void if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from your major appliance. The cost of repair or replacement under these excluded circumstances shall be borne by the customer

So disappointed in Maytag - I have a 2013 Bravos washing machine that if I had it repaired again (less than a year after I had it repaired the first time and just over two years since we brought it home) the cost is going to two times the purchase price. And because it is just out of warranty Maytag is doing nothing about it, even though they know there is a flaw in their design.

Maytag Appliances - biggest rip off ever! Home Depot needs to stop carrying Maytag appliances. I purchased a Maytag washer Type 832-A, Model number MHWE200XW00, Serial number HL11990545 in May, 2011 from Home Depot. After just three years it flooded my laundry room. Home Depot couldnt help me, and Maytag Customer Service tried to really rip me off.I called Home Depot, asked why they continued to carry a product they knew had terrible complaints and all they could tell me was they are sorry I am unhappy with my washer, then gave me Maytags customer service number. I called Maytag - first the guy tried to sell me a $400 extended warranty package - total rip off. Maytag should be ashamed, then said he couldnt help because it was past the time period. There is no telling how many people they are ripping off with that little deal. Consumer Affairs should be all over this. So then he offered to get a Maytag repairman to come to my house, but couldnt tell me how much the diagnostic visit would cost or anything else. He was worthless.I hired a local repair person to come to my home, the part is $140, its the tub seal, weak and flimsy - has a giant hole. I only wash clothes and towels, nothing else. My local guy is cutting me a deal on the labor, still going to be $200. Maytag isnt what they used to be and I will never, ever purchase another product from them again, ever. And I would suggest you dont either. Maytag appliances only last a couple years at the most, and its customer service is horrid.

We purchased our Maytag Washer back in August of 2019 and already needs a Motherboard and Lid replacement. Not only do you have to wait almost an hour to get a hold of their customer service I got hung up on once after waiting that long and the a Customer Service Lead by the name of Brittany couldnt offer any help either. We have been without our washer for almost a month now and will have to wait another couple weeks for the part to come in on top of probably another week for a maintenance person to come out and repair. I asked to expedite the part but that went absolutely nowhere. It actually added time to get the part because it was suppose to be here on the 13th but now its up to 9 business days for that to happen. I would stay away from purchasing any appliance from Maytag with the experience we have gone through and terrible customer service as well.

I bought this washer (Bravos Washer Model MVWX655DW) in June 2017. My wife and I did plenty of research and only complaint at that time was that it made load clicking noises. We bought it and it worked fine but never really filled with water to a level which would cover the clothes. Today I ran a load and brownish water was seeping out from underneath. When I lifted the machine my floor was covered with old stains which looked like oil or grease. I called a local service company and when they found out which model I had they refused to look at it. They said that particular model was known for having issues and when they fixed it, something else would go. They recommended looking online for reviews and calling Maytag.I did so and after explaining the situation to Maytag, they offered to send a technician to look at it to diagnose, not free of charge of course. While I cannot tell you avoid a particular company, I can say MY family will never buy Maytag again. If a washer is well known for having issues within its first 3 years and a company will not try to make it right simply because theres no recall on it I will spend my money elsewhere. Seems fishy that this machine has a ton of 1 star reviews within the last two months and Maytag does not want to eat the cost of servicing their junk.

Eighteen months after purchasing the Maytag Bravos, I had to have the motherboard replaced. Maytag offered nothing except a list of names for repairmen in my area. Now another 18 months later, the washer gets out of balance (this is a self-balancing machine, supposedly) at least three or four times for every load. Since it is all electronic, you cant select a spin cycle without the machine adding more water into the tub. Again, this does not self-correct the out of balance problem. Trying to balance the cloths several times during a wash cycle extends the length of time it takes to wash one load on average two hours. Maytag offers no customer service or customer support. Im sure their call center is not located in any part of the United States. I will never purchase another Maytag appliance.

It seems as its about the extended warranty now. The quality that Maytag advertises is lies. You buy the product and you have no choice but to purchase a warranty on your machine. Simple is better when it last 20 yrs over 2 yrs on a fancy machine. First electric panel machine washer with a horrible experience. It will cost 98 just to look at, that is not including parts and labor. Its 339.15 for a year warranty which equals over 300 per year for 3 years. Overpriced in all ways. Worse choice ever.

Do NOT buy a Magtag washer. I purchased a brand new washer from Lowes in 2017. The washer gets stuck in the wash cycle. When I called Lowes, they said to call Maytag, who sent a service person out. The service person recalibrated the machine never ran a cycle and left. We had to call two more times after this for the same reason with the same result where the serviceman left without running a cycle. This was all while the product was under warranty. Since I had three service calls, I called Maytag frustrated that this kept happening to a new product. I was told there was nothing they could do, but if it happens again to have the service guy come back out. When the warranty runs out, I will have to pay for the service tech. Unbelievable. Save your time, money and frustration and buy a Whirlpool! I dont know how Maytag gets away with selling defective products.

Machine locks, washes and adds more and more minutes and cant turn it off without unplugging 5-10+ times... sometime takes a week to get clothes out of machine because of locking itself. I have extended warranty and yet when I try to contact Maytag, to have them honor this, there is eternal wait on phone, online, no help whatsoever. I read via Consumer Affairs that there are almost 3,000 reviews on this specific machine being a problem yet amazingly the Maytag man never responds! I have spent many many hours with no resolution. Amazon says so many reviews have been written about this, that they are unable to take my review because of excessive reviewing.

The capacity is able to accommodate enough clothes so I only need to do a load of darks and a load of whites each week.

Just got a Bravos Maytag commercial washer. Washed two throw blankets and the washer has a see-through window on top, and I could see that the blankets didnt move on top. How are clothes supposed to get clean if they dont move? It also took an hour and a half for one load. What you are saving on water you are wasting on electricity. I personally dont like them for those reasons. I appreciate the company in my town (little known), they let me return and get the old agitator type with NO sensors. Just love the agitator, might wear on clothes a little more but at least I know theyre clean!

I bought a top of the line Maytag commercial washer. We had a number of service calls replacing parts, gear box etc. Then, they finally replaced the machine and all the same issues happened again. They will not take back their machine or refund me my almost $1K paid. The washer squeals when it starts washing and clunks all while agitating - I can hear it upstairs. After yet another service call (#11 now and no salary replacement for me) the result is that Maytag says when the temp in the house is 67 or lower, the parts in their machine expand and contract and will make noise. No fix, no refund oh, and no one you can contact by email in Canada to help. Moral of the story, dont buy Maytag.

We have a Maytag Dishwasher Model MDBH949AWB. We have purchased the extended warranty. Today, after more than 100 minutes on the phone, mostly on hold, we were unable to schedule an appointment to replace the control board, or even have them verify that we have extended warranty coverage. It generally took many many minutes to get a person, only to be referred to a different person at a different number. Nobody had access to our extended warranty info, and to go further into getting a repair scheduled, they said they needed that info. I finally went on their website, and after keying in extensive information, I got a screen saying they were having trouble with their website, and to please try again later. So I did their chat, and ultimately they told me to call 866-730-6094. The earlier numbers I called, in sequence, were 866-576-1660 (53 minutes on hold); then told to call 866-265-0029, for another long hold. And then told to call 800-626-4342. Long hold, and I hung up. At one point, I think the second person I actually spoke with gave me an incident number of **. My extended warranty expires in Feb. of 2017, and they even asked me to renew early. Since the warranty seems totally worthless, why would I do that? Terrible customer service. Wont do business with Maytag ever again, and am warning others not do so either.

In todays world all technology is becoming disposable, Where is the Maytag repairman now? I have tried all of the settings, to have a decent wash. I am ready to throw this out. Lowes you need to do something about this. It may be made in America but now we know why Japanese and Korean electronics just work! Damaged Clothes/Clothes not being washed thoroughly enough are my biggest pet peeves with this washing machine.

Most of the time it would not complete a load of laundry and would get stuck before the drain and spin cycle. Last week, the spin cycle became extremely loud. Had a repair person come out and was told the motor bearings were bad. Estimated repair cost $700. Purchased this unit new for $569.00. Called Maytag, was told that 10-year warranty on drive motor and wash basket did NOT include the bearings. Asked if they could help out with repair cost, was told no. Will never purchase another Maytag product again as they do not stand behind their products. Household has 4 people in it so use of this machine was light to medium.

It does not matter what mode you select, every single piece of clothing comes out a scrunched up wrinkled mess. I have to wash all clothing in bulky sheets mode because it is the only mode where the clothing actually gets submerged in the water. This washing machine is extremely loud and it is without a doubt, the worst purchase I have ever made. I have never written a review before, but this product is so horrible and frustrating. If I can persuade one person not to purchase one, I feel that I have done a good deed.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer almost three years ago and I have been unhappy with it the whole time. I have not had to have it repaired but its performance as far as actually washing clothes and being user friendly are terrible. My clothes do not come clean at all, the tub inside the washer collects any dirt or grass and I have to wipe it out. The inside of the washer smells terrible and I have to keep using fresheners (never had to use them before in 50 years). The cycle time is ridiculously long and only varies by a few minutes from a single item to a full load, I will never buy another HE washer.

It also has a selection for an extra rinse that I use for white loads. The washer is very reliable. Clothes come out clean with an average amount of detergent. Although this washer is more than fourteen years old, it has never needed service or repairs. By running a cleaning cycle every six months, it drains like brand new. The stainless steel drum is still as polished as it was when it was new. Even the hoses have lasted with a need for replacement.

The quick wash is way too short 20 minutes, all the rest of the options are 51 minutes to 2 hours & 57 minutes! If you wanted to add some extra minutes to the Quick wash you are out of luck. Normal wash is 55 minutes but can last much longer, it takes forever for this machine to balance which adds time to the process.I had an LG front washer before this one and when the clothes came out they were almost dry, not this washer, they are very wet. Then there is the horrible odor that comes after you use it, Ive tried drying every area making sure there isnt a drop in it. Still the stench is unbearable. Yes it has a Clean Washer with Affresh option which takes an additional 128 minutes and you have to do it at least once a week! Thats a LOT of wasted energy. That just doesnt sound efficient to me, washing the washer. Why??? This washer had great reviews which I read, not one mentioning these issues.

My household consist of two adults and definitely it is not overused or overloaded. The washer currently is not working. Consumer service cannot schedule an appointment for repair for 2 weeks. Previous repairs took approximately 2 weeks to schedule a service appointment and it took another week to two weeks to get the part in and washer repaired. I have decided to consider this an expensive learning experience and will not purchase Maytag products in the future!

The worst thing I ever did was think that paying $900+ for a nice washer would get me more than a year! What a joke! I started noticing small leaks when my hardwood floors started lifting and once my husband looked into this, we realized there is no seal around the top of the drum. So there is no barrier between the drum and your floors basically. Then one day we had a flood. As we watched the cycle run, we noticed that when the water was filling into the bleach and fabric softener compartments it was coming in at such a high rate, it was spilling over the sides down to the floor. So we went to the internet and found a few complaints about this, but no answers. Thankfully we found one guy who had the exact same problem and even had pictures that matched ours. Luckily a real appliance tech answered him and he couldnt even figure it out but took a guess at what I might be: the water inlet valve. But that was just a guess. So we called around to find the part and talked with a few sales persons. One was so nice to even ask a technician standing in line. And he said that there was no way this could be it. But then we decided to take a gamble. We also noticed that both compartments were filling up at the same time, but the bleach should fill during the wash cycle and the fabric softener during the rinse cycle. So it was either the $104 water inlet valve. Or the $200+ circuit board. These are my options after already spending $900+.. So we went with the valve and thank goodness it worked!!!! It is so disappointing that after a short time, this washer broke and cause more damage to my floors. It is an awful design. I bought myself the nicest front loaders for my first house. When that broke 7 years later, I bought this washer because I liked the no agitator design without the smell of a front loader. Now when this one breaks again, Im not buying another HE machine. The majority of people I talked with today said that these HE machines are breaking down faster and faster as the get better and better. I am so beyond disappointed, angry and in shock that this washer failed in less than a year and a half time. My hope is that this review will give the answers we couldnt find without paying an arm and a leg. Is this what passes for quality these days???

I advised the operator that 3 parts stores in my area had the part available, and asked if there wasnt something we could do. He said no they are back ordered. All it does is spin and spin and clothes come out as beautifully dirty as they were loaded. If you make the mistake of putting a few extra clothes (machine calls itself a large capacity), clothes bunch up and one has to pull them apart. The bleach dispenser was used as one would use a bleach dispenser. However it is all rusted. I had bought extended warranty from Lowes but Lowes did not honor the warranty saying rust was a cosmetic issue. Yet when Lowes sold the extended warranty, they did not specify cosmetics were not covered. It is not even cosmetic. It simply is cheap enamel paint.I have used 200 dollar wash machines but never have I experienced such a horrible and annoying product. I will try one more time to see if Maytag will help out with the rust issue. If not, I will simply cut my losses and buy a regular cheap machine. Maytag should be ashamed of itself. We had the pump replaced under warranty in January of 2011, and the pump appeared to have a hole in it from some type of hard object that had gotten inside the pump and damaged it. We then replaced the L-shaped hose between the tank and the pump because it had a small hole in it - very thin rubber. Last week, the washer was leaking again and the service technician said that the pump housing was cracked due to a penny rattling around inside the pump.This washer performs very well when it is working but it seems to be too fragile to handle on normal usage. The Whirlpool washer we replaced with this one ran for 23 years with no problems before it finally went out. From all appearances, it seems that every failure we have had with this washer has been due to damage from foreign objects getting trapped in the pump. Is there no screening mechanism to prevent hard objects from entering the pump? This seems to be a design flaw more than anything.

Being environmentally concerned, I bought it because it was supposed to be high efficiency and low water usage. My clothes are being destroyed by this machine. They come out in a massive tangled ball, covered in ink and animal hair (after a wash or two, they are completely embedded into the fibers). Sometimes there are dry spots after I take a load out of the washing machine. No idea how that could happen. It torn my favorite sweater, ripped sheets, bore a hole in a towel, ripped pillows, and DOESNT EVEN CLEAN! I have to wash my clothes twice MANY times to get the dirt out which doesnt bode well for energy efficiency. Two weeks ago, it started making horrible noise like a jet engine taking off during spin cycle. I called in the Maytag repairman and was told that the bearing is gone and it will cost $ 493.00 to repair it. He claims that the damage is caused by not using HE detergent exclusively and he refused to leave us a written estimate. We are only three adults in our household and we do our laundry once or twice a week. For this machine to be repaired only after 2 1/2 years of light service and for almost the same cost as a new one, I will never buy another Maytag/Whirlpool products ever again and I will encourage everyone the same.

Now every time I use it, I get the OL on the control panel and it wont spin without getting out of control and stopping. Washers in the past have lasted me at least 15 yrs and cost less than half that much. I will never buy another Maytag ever. This is what happens when companies merge and quality is no longer important. I think the stock market ruins companies. Im currently looking for the best quality, large capacity washer on the market. Its only 2 years old and it sounds like - what others have said, like a B52 taking off (during the spin cycle). I dont have rust spots inside of the machine or out so Im not sure what the issue is but I really dont want to invest in a couple hundred of dollars to this thing. It stinks, doesnt clean well and now this! VERY disappointed...VERY. As a single mom, the thought of finding money to replace something that is new just disgusts me! Clothes come out sopping wet so I contacted Maytag to have a tech come out. On the day that the tech came out from A&E Factory Service, he stated it was a switch. He changed the switch and still, it did not spin correctly. He then proceeds to state that it is another part, which again, it did not do the function correctly. He then proceeded to state that it is the clutch, then the transmission. The cost was raising to $519.00.I stated that I did not want to proceed because I would be purchasing a new washer with that quote. I stated to place all the original parts back onto the washer. He did so, but did not place them on correctly. The casing of the washer no longer is secured to the drum - bolts and plastic pieces are still on the side. He left my house with finger prints of grease on the walls. If this is the workmanship that Maytag recommends, then my business deserves to go elsewhere.A complaint was filed with the A&E Factory Service. However, no one has contacted me about the complaint as was requested. All I want is for my washer to be fixed or to have a tech who is knowledgeable to come out and fix it. I contacted Maytag to inform then of the situation and they stated that all their techs are certified. I do not believe that my washer of less than two years old could possibly have so many parts that are faulty. I hope that this may, in turn, help another consumer to avoid purchasing washers through Maytag and their parent company, Whirlpool.

I have to use heavy duty to do a load and then it takes 2 hours. When I want to do a load of sweaters on delicate it will not put near enough water in the machine to wash them. The normal cycle does not add enough water to wash, let alone rinse the clothes. I can’t choose the size of the load based on how much I need to wash so I have to do more loads at 2 hours each or do everything on bulky. Whoever came up with all this needs to be fired. I am extremely unhappy with this machine and I have loved Maytag for years. No more.

After only 3.5 years of normal use (3-4 standard loads per week) and doing everything as suggested by the owners manual, my machine has developed a bad drum bearing. The cost to repair this bearing is $400 for parts and $200 for labor. In other words, I am forced to buy a new machine after ONLY 3.5 years of use. When I called Maytag customer service department to question them about my problem, their response was there are no recalls on your machine, so we cannot do anything for you. When I further questioned them about the lack of quality/dependability my machine provided, they again said, Sorry, the machine is out of the warranty period. Thank you for buying Maytag. If you buy one of these washing machines, you better have the extra money to buy an extended warranty.

I used Consumer Reports, appliance websites with reviews and finally decided on the Cabrio. Let me say, I had no idea that I would be able to add extra clothes to the wash load and come out with clean clothes every time. I am amazed at how they are practically dry when the cycle is complete. I do have to run a cleaner through my machine after so many washes, but it is so much more efficient than my old Kenmore was. I cannot complain about it though. It lasted 30 years and that is unheard of now.

I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

This is not a complaint but a love-letter. I know that todays Maytag Neptune is not the Maytag of old. But Im here to report that Im still using a Maytag washer that was built in 1982! The only thing wrong with my machine is that it occasionally goes off-balance when I wash heavy towels or blankets. Note: We inherited this machine with the purchase of a home in 1991. We were a family of 6, so this machine has done many heavy loads! Im looking forward to celebrating my Maytags 30th birthday, come Jan. 1, 2012. And I would love advice on how to replace it, eventually, with another machine that has just the basics - no bells and whistles, computerized control panels, etc.

Absolutely the worst washer I have ever had. I have read some of the other reviews, wish I was smarter and checked this out before spending my hard earned money to buy this washer. My washer also is rusting at the top where the bleach goes. I never close the lid when not in use my basement is dry AND I never use bleach??? My clothes come out they are a tangled up mess. When I go to hang them they are partly dry. It isnt as though I stuff the washer NEVER put more than 8 shirts in at a time yet they all come out with dry streaks like that part of the clothing never even got wet. We all know what happens when you leave a tissue in your pocket and it goes through the washer... Well not with this washer the tissue sometimes came out as dry as it went in. HORRIBLE product. I want the old agitator/I SET THE WATER LEVEL type back. It takes forever to get laundry done. They should take these OFF the market and give us poor consumers some cash back.

One time at around yr 2 of our 10 yr warranty the repair guy removed my agitator, spline gone. Couldn’t find one anywhere! After a month of using a laundromat, I called the company in Montreal and they had the new agitator in my post office in 4 days. I am unable to wash anything that puts the Bravo washer out of balance ie: towels. The sides are busting out on the machine!! We have only had it 4 years so far. Not impressed! Does the warranty cover busting out sides? As it is a major part of the structure of the machine.

I bought this washer 2 years ago, it has always been noisy and not cleaned or rinsed my clothes very well. With dark clothes, I have to rinse them twice if not three times. Now it has quit throwing out the water all together and is not rinsing the clothes at all. Paid $72 for a repair man to hook it up to his computer and tell me there was nothing wrong with it. Told me it was how I was loading it. I dont think so. Now I have to replace a two-year old machine. I will buy a basic machine that only washes my clothes this time. Nothing is made to last these days.

It doesnt even get all the clothes wet when using on the bulky/or any other setting. Very disappointed in Maytag!!! Washer for sale, very cheap even though I paid $500 with warranty.

There are few nightmares that worm their way into reality, but the forcing upon us of the low water washing machine has excelled beyond mans wildest imagination. A tool which everyone finds an absolute necessity is now a tool which does not work! In reference to this particular machine, there isnt enough water to wet the clothes, it beats the garments with such viciousness, even on hand wash, pieces go missing off the clothes, ripped into oblivion. You no longer can buy a machine which does not SENSE the water level, so we have all been reduced to either buying new clothes every week, or wearing crumpled wrinkled disasters which arent quite clean, and we get to use 3x the electricity and waste 3x more water, not to mention wasted time in repeating the process in hopes of getting our clothes clean and wearable.

Brand new shirts yesterday and they have black stains all over them - not the first time either. Inside of stainless steel tub looks clean. Where do the black marks come from? Last Maytag I will ever buy!!

Let me start by saying, at least you have a choice of products. I’m stationed in Okinawa Japan and have ONE place to buy my appliances and a choice of two machines. Both of them are garbage Maytag products. The first one (model noted above) died after 18 months. NOTHING they could do! The “technician” they sent didn’t have a clue. His answer was to replace the control board. Time to receive part? Up to 30 days. Really! My option? Buy the exact same product. I can’t even describe how screwed over I feel.

Maytag Bravos Model MVWB750wq1 - After only two years, the washing machine finally died. The machine was on a f51 code - hardly anything was in the washer. I also smelled a burning smell - well, that was the pump. The machine was not pumping water out. After the repairman came out, the contract company is saying they are not covering this because there was rust reported by the repairman. How can bearings inside a washing machine be rusted? This is a washing machine, isnt it? How are they building machines that deal with water and rust?! I will never buy another Maytag product - thats a promise. I spent over 2000.00 on this set. Never again.

Failed after only 13 months with light use. I have a Whirlpool extended warranty which I had to fight to get them to honor. Then someone came to fix my washer and needed part was ordered, but part isnt available and company wont tell me when it will be. I have received 6 part availability dates so far. Whirlpool wont help. Over two months now without a washer. Ive asked them to replace machine or give me my money back, but they refused. The Whirlpool Extended Warranty group doesnt answer their phones, was put on hold for a long period.

The Maytag Bravo is a big waste of money. Get a less expensive machine. You will have no problems and save money. This is my experience: SETTINGSYou cannot control the settings completely. Every setting is preset. For example, if you choose the Bulky setting, you cannot choose the water save spray rinse. Those two cannot be selected together. Certain settings can only be selected with certain temperatures. This will however be the least of your problems. WASHINGIt does not get clothes clean. I have had instances of items coming out with still stuff stuck to them, not just stains, but actual solid material stuck to it. My cat threw up in his bed and when I got it out, it still had small pieces of vomit stuck to it. I have always only used the Bulky setting which fills up the whole drum, so there is sufficient water to wash. I cannot imagine what it would be like if I used the Normal setting. Many times I had to wash thing twice. If you use the normal setting, you will get hardly any water. It will be a moist bundle of clothes moving like a big lump. You need water and some degree of friction to eliminate the dirt. SPINNINGIt is constantly stopping, beeping and showing me the UL sign (uneven load). You have to unravel the items and reposition them Around the drum. If you are an old lady like me, this is a real chore because the items are now soaking wet and very heavy. Also, because there is no agitator, the items come out in knots (tied to one another) and you have to separate them. DURABILITYThe lid is loose. It looks like it may be missing a screw on one side. It still locks, but it moves sideways when you close it and open it. BOTTOM LINEThe whole thing is a disaster. Get an old fashion type. It will work better and you can save your money. I honestly think there should be a class action suit against Maytag.

We have been without a working washing machine for 2 months now. The technician has been to our house 4 times. When he came on Dec 31st to replace the mother board, that didnt solve the problem. He says the washing machine can not be repaired. We have been fighting with Maytag Canada and Lowes since the beginning of December. Neither company cares. We will never own another Maytag product. They are the new HE top loaders with locking lids. Since I purchased them I have had nothing but trouble. Customers have complained about them on a regular basis; there are days when we have had as many as five complaints.First of all, the locking lids proved to be a much bigger problem than we anticipated. People want to open top loaders to add fabric softeners and when we have opened them so that they can add the fabric softener they are often disappointed with the level of water in the washer. Those people consequently refused to use those particular washers. People have pressed the buttons on the control boards and sent the machines into a loop; different readings have appeared on the screen. Some of them say out of order, sync and several other error codes. Eventually the machines reset themselves or I have had to reset the programming. In the meantime the people pass the word and those machines are not used by those who hear. The controls are too sensitive and are not suited to a commercial coin laundry.Whenever any buttons on the control board are pressed the time of the wash appears on the board. Because of this some people who are busy and are using and loading several washers claim that they have already put their money into the machines; they argue with the attendant or with us. Many times they actually believe that they have placed money in the machine and many times they try to get a free wash from us. Either way they are unhappy and they, and those who hear them argue, will not use those washers again. In most cases we lose them as customers and once customers are lost they never return.I placed them in a location where the previous Maytags had been heavily used, expecting them to replace the old machine. I was wrong. They are used very little and the long and short of it is that we are losing money and since our busy season is coming up, will be losing even more customers and therefore more money. I spent close to $12,000 on the machines, including delivery and installation and right now they are quickly becoming heavy paper weights. I have contacted the salesman who sold them to us, but he has given us the runaround and done nothing about the situation.

I bought my Maytag Model LA608 washer in 1976. It has very few electronics and a mechanical timer. It has been used every week since then for 2 or 3 people. It has had 3 problems in its lifetime. I replaced the 2 valves that control the hot and cold water entering the machine. I replaced a small plastic sprayer part. And last year I replaced 3 clamps that rusted and started to leak. Thats it in 40 years. I was able to open up the front and back covers to get at the parts quite easily.It is a simple machine with almost no electronics to stop working. Nothing bothers me about the machine. Its simple and wonderful. When it finally breaks, I will try and find a good sized machine that washes permanent press and regular clothes, has a controller to select hot/cold/warm water temperatures, has a regular and gentle cycle, and has 3 load levels for the water to be used. I will try to find one that is good quality with few electronic parts. I will not buy a high efficiency model that uses less water as I am on a well and water shortage is not a problem where I live. I will not buy a front loading model.I would not buy a machine that has options that I do not need. I would hope to find a quality machine similar to what I have now. I would read as many ratings about the various models before making a selection and then I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. If it is possible, try and find a good quality machine that will be dependable over time. Buy a basic machine with only the options that you really need. There will be fewer parts to stop working.
