We have had our washing machine for about 6 months, we got the F3 E6 error code. After doing some research, we found out that the control module was what we needed to replace. My husband and I called both Maytag and Lowe’s, (the store we purchased the washer from). We have been given the runaround. After talking with several managers in the Lowe’s warranty department, we were told that we had to contact Maytag directly about that particular problem. Okay, no big deal. We called and every single time we were put on hold for at least 30 minutes before we were hung up on. Not once did we even get to speak to a person. If we don’t get a response and our problem doesn’t get fixed, I will be going to the Better Business Bureau.

I suppose I am the lucky one in that the Maytag Bravos was given to me free. I took out a perfectly good Maytag standard agitator washing machine and replaced it with this several years old unit. What a mistake! I read the other reviews and see that I share the same problems. I always get a the oL fault as soon as it goes to do the final spin. So I have to reset and try again. Also I have seen the same kind of dirt on the clothing as others report. I dont know that I will waste my time contacting anyone about the fault code. I may just put the old one back in and scrap this thing!

Maytag top loader washing machine - Worst appliance purchase ever made. Does not clean laundry, takes all day to do 5 or 6 loads. Not enough water to properly wash or rinse load, even using the deep water setting (a joke). A load of 2 king size sheets and 4 pillow cases wadded up in a ball and rattled around so hard in the spin cycle, it pulled the plug out of the wall. Maytag sent out technician who conducted diagnostic testing, which did not include any actual laundry. Technician said machine was operating as intended and verified I was using the machine properly. I have tried to return this machine since the first load was done and realized it was a disaster. Maytag refused to help. In fact, their phone agent had the audacity to suggest I wash one sheet at a time to prevent the machine from moving across the floor so far the plug came out of the wall. Maytag surely is not what it used to be. Im sorry I did not know they, like so many other companies, dont care about their reputation or customer service, not to mention producing a quality product. I would say they are actually misleading their customers by calling this product a washing machine.

My husband and I purchase both Maytag Washer and Dryer 7 month ago 2017, because we have purchase Maytag washer before and were very happy with it. But this new Washer does not clean clothes at all, it is worthless. We will not purchase another Maytag Washer again.

After replacing plastic parts that spin tub twice, now the computer is wasted. Purchased not even 3 yrs ago, now I have to buy a new washer because the computer system is not covered under warranty. REALLY!! The most expensive part. Not worth fixing. Never washed really dirty clothes when it wasnt broke down. Agree with the class action I would be in. Dont buy people and now I am off to pay to wash my clothes.

Bought a new Maxima washer in January. Worked for one week. Got error codes and electronics board shut down. Contract serviceman says board should have reset after turning off. Ordered new board and it is missing one of the electrical wire connector plugins. Maytag/Whirlpool is having a problem with these boards.Three weeks without a washer. Two days off work. When it goes out again, days off work will be close to what I paid for it. Thinking I may cut my future losses and buy another brand when in-transit board goes out.

We purchased the Bravos X washing machine on Feb. 9, 2012. I had a Maytag for 30 years before this one and did not have any problems. My model # is MVWX700X. I have given it sufficient time to get used to it. I have tried all cycles for my whites and am not satisfied. I use Clorox in the receptacle and I have only used Tide HE. I spot treat all of our underwear, which is changed every day, and it always comes out unacceptable. I am so disappointed since I was so fond of my old one and only thought I wanted another Maytag. At this point, I would never recommend this machine.

Bought the xl about 14 months ago. NO LIE! Exactly 2 days after the 1-year warranty was up, the xl went down. Drive shaft and bearings. Did Maytag honor the warranty since it was only 48 hours past the expiration? Not just a no but a why are you bothering attitude. My brother and I are above average machine builders. Well fix it ourselves because we could buy a new one to have it repaired. After many hours scouring the web we found the parts. Maytag didnt make a repair kit available to the public. 7 hours plus over $200 to tear it down and to clean the muck trapped at the drain. Then sand-smooth the burnt on metal where the bearings sit. All for a washing machine that sucks at washing clothes in the first place. Never ever again will I buy a Maytag.

We bought a Maytag Centennial Washer in 2011. 6 months ago the control board went bad. Maytag has an exorbitant replacement price! I went to Ebay and bought a NEW board for 1/7th of the price Maytag wanted. The old board was marked revision B. The new board is revision F! That indicates to me that the board was defective when it was new and they have made 5 attempts since then to fix it! No recalls however. Now the motor is shot. I found out the motor from Australia is also inferior! So this 5 year 3 month old POS Maytag is going to the dump! We will shop for something made outside the US. No not a Samsung. I think there should be a class action suit against Maytag.

I use a late model Maytag front loader. It does a great job cleaning and uses very little soap and water. To date I have NOT had to call the repairman to work on it. All in all I am VERY satisfied.

We bought this washing machine 2 years ago and I was never really satisfied with how it cleaned the clothes. Darker pants would come out with white soap/water lines on them. The worst part, 2 years in, the washer basket seal failed and the bearings rusted. The washer sounds like a tornado every time it runs. I got a quote for $350 to repair it!

Bad decision, Purchased in 2013 a Bravos by Maytag. After 3 years, it sounds like a jet engine taking off. The bearing is failing, sad as Maytag advertises to be the best. In 35 years, this is our 4th washer, actually the 1st was a hand-me-down that lasted longer. Unfortunately, we thought spending more and believing that Maytag would last longer was a mistake. Cost to repair is over half of the cost, so we have elected to run to fail. Then replace the Maytag that should have lasted at least 10 years. Warning. Purchase at your own risk. DO NOT buy this machine or any by Maytag, could be the same results. Or it could be that they are manufactured under Lowes specifications. From all the complaints the Maytag repair technicians are working, not setting around as they advertise. Only blaming myself for the purchase.

Zero should be a choice on overall experience. I purchased a Maytag Bravo 300 from Lowes in February of 2011. Last week I was doing a load of laundry and the washer stopped in mid-cycle, and it gave an alarm and error code ld. I checked out the manual and it said there was a problem with the drain line. I check the drain line and it was fine, so I called Maytag to have a service man take a look at it. Before he even looked at the washer, he said it was probably the pump, and it is not covered under warranty. And he said that it would cost $140. He obviously sees this all the time. He explained that the pump is too small for the unit and it does not allow anything to go through the pump. Please make sure anyone who may be considering buying one of these units knows right up front that they are going to have issues with the pump, even if a small pebble gets caught in the pump.

I Hate this machine. It does an inferior job and I wish I never bought it. Our Bravos XL washer was purchased in spring. It left white residue constantly on my clothes. Even WORSE, the machine wrinkled the permanent press so the clothes had to be ironed before wearing. (I rarely had this with my last washer). I used the machine settings correctly and I called the company and basically...was told, Youre out of luck. I hoped that it would improve but No Way! Dont purchase this machine, dont waste your $$$.

Well, my washer is 2 years old, yes thats right - 2 years old. And it only goes to the wash cycle, washes once and stops, wont complete a full cycle. Yes, the brand with the commercial with the repairman just sitting around because their products are so great you never have to work on them. Yeah right. And Ive seen videos on YouTube on the problem with the Maytags. So Maytag may want to look into it!

I have had the set of Maytag Bravos for about 5 years now. In the 3rd year, the bearings went out. Just recently, leaking water pump. This washer easily eats clothing. I have to disassemble every so often just to get the missing socks etc. out. The only good thing, Maytag should be ashamed I know this, is that the machine is easy to fix. I imagine since they made it so cheaply. Really nothing to the machine.

I bought this washer 2 years ago, it has always been noisy and not cleaned or rinsed my clothes very well. With dark clothes, I have to rinse them twice if not three times. Now it has quit throwing out the water all together and is not rinsing the clothes at all. Paid $72 for a repair man to hook it up to his computer and tell me there was nothing wrong with it. Told me it was how I was loading it. I dont think so. Now I have to replace a two-year old machine. I will buy a basic machine that only washes my clothes this time. Nothing is made to last these days.

This is March 18, 2021. I bought a Maytag washer, model MHW5630HW2, which is their high end front load washer, in early July, 2020. The machine worked fine except that out of an available 10 cycles, only two would run. The seller, which was Sears, replaced it as defective. The second machine runs all the cycles but, though leveled carefully, it rattles, screeches, walks across the floor and generally seems to be trying to tear itself apart. The repair service replaced the shock absorbers in this new machine, after a six week wait for parts. This did nothing to fix the problem. The repairman finally just said he doesnt know how to fix it. After many patient hours on the phone with Maytag, they have said I have no recourse. The machine is under warranty and I purchased, for an extra $350, a five year warranty. Both warranties are useless. Maytag refuses to stand behind their product. I live in a small town in New Mexico. There is only one repairman. He cant fix it. Sooo...if you live in a small town, or dont want to spend endless fruitless hours with repair people or on the phone with Maytag, who will ultimately tell you they just cant help you, DONT BUY THIS MACHINE.

We purchased our Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer approximately 5 years ago. Over the past year or so, Ive noticed an odor coming from our washer and it’s becoming stronger. Water is staying in the drum and there is mold growing on the rubber seal when you open the door.

I hoped the Maytag Maxima would compare to my old Maytag Neptune and it didnt even come close. Very disappointed. Doesnt fill with enough water to even WET the towels and doesnt rinse any of the soap out of the clothes. Been using it since 12/2015. Hate the Maxima. I looked for the brand (Maytag Neptune) which I couldnt find. Settled on the Maytag Maxima which is a complete bust. The Maxima doesnt fill with enough water so Ive had to add water to both the wash and rinse cycles. It has also become very noisy. The repairman has already stated that there is nothing he can do about the lack of water since the amount of water is set in the factory and cannot be changed. The Maytag Maxima is a complete bust for me! Its a front-loader that has me adding water (at least 2 gallons) to every load no matter how small. Wish Id bought a GE top-loader that Ive seen advertised.

Theres always a problem with this thing. It doesnt clean the clothes, its always off balance, and now it leaks from the bottom side of the machine in the clean washer cycle. Its only 2 1/2 years old. Should of listened to the guy who fixed my old machine. Dont get a Maytag!

Purchased my Bravos June 2012. This is a horrible washer. It does not clean. It leaves a detergent scum line on clothing. My work clothes are visibly soiled and sometimes come out in a tangled mess. Maytag ignored a first complaint from my wife. I complained again today. Regardless what Maytag does, I will purchase another brand after research. We bought on Maytag’s reputation.

Maytag Dishwashers work great. It cleans well and appearance is very good. I have always trusted Maytag appliances. Its quiet running and also energy saver. If I had to replace I would stay with Maytag.

I bought a Maytag Bravo without an agitator. Regretted from the 1st load. Some of my clothes do not even get wet and I bought the commercial grade. My 20 year washer that was on its last leg washes better than my brand new Maytag. Please do not waste your money, your clothes will not come out clean.

MHW60X - I experienced a problem in May of 2015, and the repairman told me it was the master board, and he has seen this many times. He said that the MCU board goes out after 3.0 - 3.5 years!! This is exactly how old my machine was! The cost to repair this was almost what the machine cost, and this is unacceptable. I have had Maytag washers my entire adult life, and my prior one lasted approximately 20 years, but after this I am not sure I will consider another one in the future. To have a major part burn out soon after the warranty expires should not happen. I contacted customer service to find out the experience and reported problems on this model, but could not obtain any information, other than they have received calls about this model. I asked Maytag to reimburse me for the part - at a minimum, and they refused stating it was out of warranty and they could do nothing. Apparently they do not care about their reputation anymore, which is sad, since they used to be so well regarded!

Purchased a Maytag top loader. Hand wash clothes leaves a soap residue on clothes. Called Maytag they sent service out. Service tech said (off the record) the design of the machine does not produce enough water, but reported that machine works. Called Maytag again and they said they would need to send out a Master technician. So I set up another appointment (had to take more time off from work) with the Master technician. It was the same guy that came the week before! He didnt bother coming in to look at it! Called Maytag again and they said they would only be able to schedule a service call and if they come out and there is nothing wrong with machine, I would have to pay for the service call!!! I asked for a supervisor and explained why would I do that and he said they would send out another service technician from another service company and I wouldnt have to pay for it. He also offered me an extended warranty for a year for free. Thats great, but my machine is not fixed. This service technician said (off the record too) top loader machines are no good, do not buy, not enough water. He was there less than 5 minutes. Just got off phone with Maytag again and they can no longer do anything else, that the machine is working. I explained to the gentleman that yes the machine fills with a little bit of water and drains the water but it does NOT clean the items! Not going to let this happen to someone else. Plan on spreading the word to everyone to NOT BUY A MAYTAG TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE. DOES NOT CLEAN YOUR CLOTHES. CONSTANT RESIDUE LEFT ON CLOTHES!

The control (computer) stopped working. The Maytag Centennial washer would not turn off. I had to unplug it from the electrical outlet to get it to stop. The repairman had to replace the computer panel. He said it had burned up. I bought this machine from Lowes on January 11, 2011. It lasted 15 months and cost me $265 to get it repaired. I called Lowes and because I did not buy the extended warranty, they would not even talk to me. When I pay about $500 for a washing machine, I expect it to last longer than 15 months! I will never buy another Maytag appliance! Customers beware: these products are a bunch of junk. Even the repairman told me so.

I owned an front loading Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer MAH5500 for more than 10 years and first 5 yrs doing 2-3 loads a day for a family of 12 so this machine held up well, and only issue we had with the machine was the rubber around outside needed to be replaced after about 9 yrs.

Model# MVWB850WQ0, Serial# CY4070329, Type 580-02. Bought this Commercial Technology washer 2-1/2 years ago thinking the commercial model would be heavy duty. It was only heavy on the wallet. The washer started to emit a loud roaring sound two weeks ago that never happened before. It happens on spin cycle. We cant even have a normal conversation in the house. After reading similar problems and outrageous cost to repair, Im leaning to look for a replacement without the Maytag label. My 10+ year old Sears Kenmore didnt have any problems. My mistake was to replace it with a more efficient washer. I guess New+Efficient doesnt equal long lasting for Maytag. You would think a major manufacturer would put in heavy duty bearings in a washing machine. Heck, maybe the bearings are heavy duty but design shortens bearing life. Enough time spent on Maytag. Stay away!

My Maytag has been out of service more than in service and this is my 2nd one in 2 years. They replaced my first one due to breaking down several times. I have spent so much $$ at the laundromat after paying big bucks for a washer.

I have never given anything a negative review before, but this, by far, the absolute worst appliance I’ve ever had in my entire life. I bought it because I had an old leaky washer, but I’d take it back in a heartbeat because it could ACTUALLY wash my clothes. We spent a lot of money on this washer because we wanted something really nice that would actually work, but this washer is no better than me throwing my clothes in the sink and turning the water on. I’ve tried every kind of detergent and pretreatment that I could possibly try, and nothing helped because the actual machine don’t do nothing. Shirts come out still coated in mud, and half the load is dry??? Please, save your money, get your washer somewhere else. And I hate to even give this thing 1 star because it ain’t even worth that.

All of a sudden, the lid lock light is flashing. The washer is only 1.5 years old!

Bravos X high efficiency... efficient at not cleaning your clothes, efficient at ruining clothes, sheets, towels, may be efficient at being a boat anchor. Maytag offers nothing. Have had washers last 20 years or more. Someone, or some atty. General should bring a class action suit. Horrible product. Dont buy one. DONT BUY MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL. THEY DONT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. JUNK. That report was very fair as requested. You really dont want to know how I really feel.

Weve had this washer for five months now and really regret buying it. It cannot remove even minor stains and often leaves residue on clothes, even with extra rinsing. I spilled coffee on some fleece pajamas and it took four washings to get the smell out.

I bought a Maytag washer in June and its the worst washer I have ever had. It has been 15 yrs since I had to buy a washer. My last washer was a Kenmore which was great. The Maytag does not have a water control knob. It has auto sensing which is crazy. I know how much water I need to wash my clothes. The water sensing barely puts water over the top of the clothes which is not what I need. My husband works in the oil field and gets oily and dirty. The next issue is the agitator that agitates the clothes. This one is a joke. The agitator starts agitating the clothes before the water is over the clothes and then when it needs to agitate it does a poor job. I am so unhappy with my machine that I am getting rid of it and looking for an old type washer. Evidently you made this washer for white collar people who do not get dirty. This is definitely not a washer for people who have dirty laundry. I am so disappointed with Maytag. I thought this was a good brand.

I inherited this Maytag washer, so it has been around a very long time (I have had it for 18 years). It still runs quite well, has 3 levels of wash/rinse, 3 cycles to wash in. Both of us...me and the washer are still kickin together. Highly recommend Maytag.

I purchased this machine (Maytag Bravos XL MVWX700XL2 ) about 18 months ago. I was so excited with the looks and the reviews I found on the machine at that time. For the first 14 months I was happy. All of a sudden, it has become the washer from Hades! It twists and almost ruins my clothing. Not to mention, I think it is permanent wrinkles that it puts into things. I washed our comforter on Bulky. The part that must have been at the bottom is completely wrinkled and it also wrecked all of the fill. This was a comforter that it is supposed to be fine to put in the washer. I am attaching pictures in which you can almost plainly see where the comforter was at the bottom. I had a serviceman out a few weeks ago. He said Maytag knows that there is a problem, however, there is no service bulletin that is out yet on it. In addition, he ran all of the codes and told me there is nothing wrong with my machine. That must be why I have to iron almost every piece of clothing in this house. Maytag will hopefully give me decent customer service on this, or I will come unglued. For the price of this washing machine, I expected much more.

Bought this Maytag Bravo washer in 2013 expecting long service life like I had with my previous machine. After 2 years spin cycle noise got progressively worse. Until now it roars loudly and keeps stopping in the spin cycle for rebalancing. Called Maytag. Experience was as described as others have reported with them and their repair service. Absolutely no help unless I spend another $310 for extended warranty to cover the $380 part (tub and bearing - 1 unit - cant get only the bearing). Paid $800 for the washer now more for the repair wanted. $1100-$1200 for a machine that will need repair again in a couple of years? Dont think so. This machine is only good for a boat anchor. Going out today to buy a replacement for $400 and it wont be a Maytag or its affiliates brand. Feel like a class action suit would be good for Maytag to wake up to.

I have trusted Maytag for many years, more than 60 years, my parents and then myself. My Dad always told me I could trust Maytag over any other brand and that has always been true until I bought a new Centennial Econoserve Washer. This is without question the worst machine ever made. I should have asked every question in the book concerning this machine but, oh no, I just trusted the name MAYTAG. I am so sorry. I cant trust it to clean anything that shows it needs cleaning so you have to wonder what does it clean that you cant see. Im sorry people, I just dont know what to do. I cant afford to buy a new machine and the store I purchased are basically telling me, Sorry, you bought a stripped down model. Too bad! I will never buy another appliance from that store nor will I recommend them to anyone. Too bad since they are locally owned. Anyway, Maytag, you blew it badly to turn out this terrible machine. Thats my story and Im sticking to it. Better product next time.

I purchased the Maytag Neptune set in 2004 and was not informed there was a class action lawsuit and was never notified. When washer quit working, I called Maytag who sold me a $300 service contract. They came out and said they couldnt fix the washer and I needed to buy a new one. I paid a fortune for this piece of junk and now have to spend another $700 to get a new washer. I will never buy Maytag again. How can they get away with selling washers that are on recall and involved in a lawsuit?

I bought my Maytag in 2013. It worked fine at first but for the last year it isnt getting clothes clean. In fact, some look like theyve never been washed. I have to run the rinse cycle 2-3 times and they still seem somewhat soapy. The washer still leaves clothes drippy after running the spin cycle. It takes 2-3 hours to complete a small load. I wish I had my old Kenmore back. It worked fine for nearly 20 years!

I just purchased this washer in Feb. 2012. The motor had gone out in Oct. I called Maytag Service, they came out to repair it. In Nov., it was doing the same thing again. I called Maytag Service, and they sent someone out to fix it. They expected me to take off from work where they inconvenience me with this washer. It is a reject washer. They would give me another washer and not consider people having to work and cant take off for their reject washer. They said as long as it is under warranty. I feel that I should be able to get me another. This washer has given me problems since I had it.

Purchased washer in Jan 2013. Average usage is 1 load per week. Last week the washer started leaking from the rear left side. A service call discovered that the bleach dispenser was filling up with water and overflowing. Bleach dispenser?? I never use it! Seems that the new bleach dispenser hose line has a relief valve whereas the original part did not. Internet research has confirmed that this problem is very common with this make and model. However, a call to Maytag requesting what compensation, if any, would be available resulted in a response that basically was too bad... so sad... cant do anything for you! Seriously? An apparent common, known problem and all they can say is we understand your problem. Needless to say that will definitely be the last lonely repairman Maytag that this household will purchase.

We are an extra-large family, and required an extra-large washing machine to handle our needs efficiently. We thought paying quite a bit more for the reliable Maytag brand name would be a good investment and worth it over the years... HA!!!! The Bravos XL model has turned out to be a major disappointment! It gives no manual control over the water level and you can actually have things come out of a load dry! The loads continually become unbalanced. Clothing is continually damaged - rips, tears, shreds. Wrinkles everything... even jeans?! Even with proper amount of detergent use and frequent affresh tab cleanings, the clean washer reminder light repeatedly comes on. It leaks from the bottom, although we cannot determine why or exactly where the leak is originating! It is a seriously frustrating, substandard product, and I cannot believe Maytag (and Sears, where we bought it) is continuing to sell this machine (and may I add at a crazy high price)! Both of these companies should be ashamed of themselves for peddling such poor quality washers and leaving their customers so dissatisfied! Stay clear of the Bravos XL!

I got a Maytag Bravos 18 months ago and liked it at first. After using the washer for a while my towels were falling apart. Did not connect to the washer at first but I began to notice pulled threads on my towels. Talked to Maytag customer service who said they had never heard of the problem. She did say mix the towels with other clothes to prevent the problem. When I got this machine we had about two dozen good quality towels. Now I am down to maybe a half dozen. Those came from the six my Dad bought us for Christmas and I stashed away. The towels have pulled threads all over and will be completely destroyed soon.

I am a Baby Boomer... just like so many of us, I watched those lonely Maytag Repairman television commercials. Yes, silly me I purchased our top loading Maytag Bravos XL because of the brand name and because the machine was large enough to wash our bedding. Well, like so many fellow purchasers have found, this machine does not get the clothes clean and leaves soap spots all over the clothes. Its embarrassing. Additionally, there is that funny smell after the clothes come out of the wash. Well, Maytag has really done a number on us all. Kudos to their research & development department for creating a washing machine where the clothes come out dirtier. Has Maytag thought about a RECALL? I will tell everyone I know to NEVER buy a Maytag.

MVWC200BW0 - Washer starts to fill and then drains before completing the fill cycle. Contacted Maytag through the live chat on their website (cant talk to a real person on phone). Since my one year warranty had been expired 12 days I was told to contact a certified repair person. They offered no help in solving my problem. Told nothing they could do, warranty had expired. Maytag will never get my business again. Now I know why the Maytag repairman is so lonely, people have quit buying Maytags.

I purchased a Maytag 2000 series washing machines. It broke and needed to be repaired within six months of purchase. It continued to break and need to be repaired numerous times and its only a little over 1 1/2 years old. It ripped and ruined clothing on numerous occasions. It would not drain and the door would lock with clothing inside thus ruining them. Both of these issues occurred on more than one occasion. Maytags solution for their defective washer was to keep referring me to my warranty. They were no help at all. My warranty finally came through for me and I was issued a full refund through the warranty I purchased at the time I purchased the washer. My new washer (which is not a Maytag) is being delivered Friday. So finally after being without a washer for over two weeks I will be able to wash clothes again. My experience with Maytag was frustrating and aggravating to say the least and I will definitely never purchase Maytag again. They are far from reliable.

The house I purchased came with a washing machine and when I used it the water didn’t pump out leaving me with a load of wet clothes. I went to our local hardware store the same day and purchased the only washing machine they had which was a Maytag high efficiency Top loading washer the same day September 30, 2020. Had the washer delivered and set up, and watched the washer work through the window in the top. The sensor on the machine only gave water up to the top of the clothes, not over them. When it went into the rinse cycle it gave the same amount of water. My clothes came out with soap suds on them and the clothes on top did not agitate down into the machine on the wash nor rinse cycle. Not once on the loads I washed in the two weeks I had the machine did my clothes come out clean and not twisted in a mess making it difficult to get them out of the machine. I used the expensive Tide HP pods and followed the referenced directions. In reading the other reviews on this same washer many of them had the exact same problems that I did. The warranty will not replace this brand new machine nor the hardware store so I am stuck with a washer that doesn’t work as it should and out of the money I paid for it.

Maytag Centennial washer - Bought this washer brand new and after the first 2 months started having issues. The washer took FOREVER to fill and to complete a basic load took literally an hour or more. Then within the next 7 months it stopped spinning out the final spin cycle. Spin light would flash as would lid lock but wouldn’t spin the water so I had to manually unplug the machine then plug in out cycle on drain and spin and that worked 50 percent of the time. Repairman came out and said could be a number of issues but he said honestly it would cost me a lot less to just go buy a new washer! This is INSANE! I grew up with the Maytag repairman commercials and thought Maytag was still top of the line but LEMME TELL YA, IT AINT! The Centennial is a total piece of crap so PLEASE don’t purchase this machine as I can promise you will NOT be satisfied! MAYTAG, STEP UP YOUR GAME BECAUSE YOU SUCK.

THIS PRODUCT IS CRAP!!!! I spend $699.00 at Home Depot, after 1/12 years the console stopped working. Maytags engineering staff should be fired!!! You stole my hard earned money. I have been struggling with this machine for the last year. Just does not wash. I have tried power wash. Bulky sheets. Double rinse and nothing works. I bought this machine last year from Lowes and its my worst investment. When the load is finished the clothes are still dirty. Actually worst than when they went in. Have had Maytag HE washer for 4yrs, so far it has broke down three times. I contacted Maytag and they asked if I had bought extended service contract? No I paid $700.00 for this washer and had expected it to work a little longer than 2yrs before seal in door is cracked. Would NEVER buy another HE or Maytag product again!

I’m 41 years old and finally had my first new washing machine. Four days later, while my 11 year old had the stomach flu, it died. Not impressed. Apparently the delivery guys left a note on our file saying there was a defect on our washer and that we needed to contact Maytag. This was news to us when we called The Brick today. I hope they didn’t knowingly sell us a defective washer. Alas, we have to wait until Monday with pukey sheets in the washer.

Maytag Centennial Washer - Bought washer because of brand name and was that a mistake! This is the Loudest, noisiest, banging clanking washing machine I have ever heard. Every time I do a load of laundry the washer moves a foot from the wall and I have to continually move it back. Needless to say I hover over it all the time when I do laundry. It isnt even 2 years old and we are going to go buy a new machine, AFTER looking at reviews!!!

I changed from another HE brand to this model. No comparison. This machine can do twice the work... but double the time. My former machine was quiet while this one is not. Maybe I got spoiled to the former brand, but Ive never heard so much noise from a washing machine! Ive always thought Maytag meant quality but I think they may have missed the boat here. I tried reviewing on their site but when I gave it two stars, I got an error message. Clever, Maytag.

This washer has been the biggest disappointment of any appliance I have ever bought. Purchased 12/2012 and immediately disliked it but thought I needed to get used to the new style since my previous machine operated for 23 yrs! It is loud and does not clean as effectively as my last machine. It stays in the Sensing mode for 15 mins or longer. Rarely will it spin as it should. Most loads, after the sensing stops and the lights go out, I have to move the dial to Drain/Spin, wait for it to sense again and then maybe it will spin. If this doesnt work I have to unplug the machine to allow it to reset. I called Maytag and was told there are no known issues with the machine. I google this model and find many customers have had a similar problem.

The washer is very aggressive - it will tangle the clothes and actually tear them if they are thin. There is little control with the speed or water temperature or with the amount of water for a load of clothes.

This review is pretty simple, if you have kids, do not buy this washer! I just went to the local wholesale guy after almost 8 months of using this POS, and spent $200 on a older agitator machine, after the first load my 7 year old close came clean of dirt! There is literally no water and the motion of the drum, it is almost impossible for this machine to clean clothes. I really am surprised that no one has started a class action. And to anyone saying the are hog farmers and work outside and get dirty? I would love to see it first hand. I am going to post on YouTube and show what this machine really does. Think about this before you buy, We all get hooked on how big it is, thinking you can do 4 loads at once, but trust me the low water thing is real! How do you clean clothes with no water! I purchased the subject Maytag washer (MHWE201YW-3.5 CU FT WHT FRNT LD WSHR) from Home Depot in December of 2012. I got exactly 1 year of use and then the washer stopped working. I called the Home Depot repair person who came and repaired the unit. The repair lasted two weeks and the washer stopped working again. Because the unit was no longer under its 1-yr warranty the Home Depot repair person was not available for repair. Another independent Maytag repair person came and evaluated to problem. He said the computer which is located on the motor was no good and to the tune of over $400.00 (parts and labor) a new motor was purchased and installed. It lasted two months and it quit working again. After several months I was finally able to contact the original Home Depot repair person for one visit. He said he would check the code message and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I have been taking my laundry to the laundromat ever since and it is getting expensive. I dont want to spend another $400 on this machine as it will only break again. What do you recommend?

I will never buy another Maytag Product in my life again. The Bravo is the worst of the worst washing machines ever. They claim to save on water but the electric it uses is terrible. You have to be a magician to untangle the clothes. Anyone who had anything to do with the workings of this machine should be fired.

I bought my Maytag Bravos top load washer from Home Depot. In one year. I had the Maytag warranty people out three or four times. The warranty ran out and I purchased an extended warranty from A&E. I have had them out at least five times.I called Maytag and they told me since that I didn’t get the extended warranty from them, that there was nothing they could do for me. I explained to them that this washer cost me over $900 and that I have had numerous repairs on the washer, in which the warranties cost me over $400 so far.How much do I have to keep paying for this lemon? Maytag will not do anything about it! This goes to show you that paying top dollar for a washer does not guarantee you will have a good product. In this economy we can’t afford for this to happen. This is a very bad product and Maytag will not stand behind their own products, but they are willing to charge the consumer high dollar for them. This is a disgrace!

On June 5th, my husband turn off the water to the house since we were going to be away for 4 days. Unfortunately, it was not completely turned off. When we left, the washing machine was OFF, with the door slightly cracked open (to allow for circulation). When we returned, there was water all over in our upstairs, plus water had gone down the walls to the lower level. We could not figure out how the water got into the washer since it was turned off. The insurance company asked that we call a repairman to find out what was wrong. Fortunately for the repairman and us, the machine continued to go on and on after the Curtis had checked it out (it pumped out for him but not for us) and turned it OFF. It jumped from cycle to cycle after he had turned it off. Obviously the control board did its own thing. Be aware-- it can happen!!

Bought in July 2015, brand new from Lowe’s or Sears. When working to its full potential it never cleaned clothing very well, had no designated spot for detergent or softener, just bleach. Just last 3 years and it’s a piece of crap that has to be replaced. Going to argue with the company to tomorrow to get them to replace the broken transmission which may or may not be considered part of the drive motor - all **. This is a very expensive machine that didn’t last a month beyond 3 years! The 10 year warranty covers the 2 most rugged parts of any washer... the agitator never truly cleaned my clothes and now it is fused to the wash basket and cannot even be replaced without being chiseled off. Worst machine, purchase, and brand ever???

In September 2008, I purchased a Maytag washing machine (Model MTW5700TQ0) that had a faulty transmission. The machine was immediately replaced. Three years later, the transmission is again faulty. Maytag has refused any responsibility for repair or replacement.

Maytag Cenntenial Washer - We traded our super capacity for the ex-large Maytag washer and we have great regrets. We posted it on Craigslist about 4 months after we bought the unit and NO ONE would buy it for $300.00 even though we paid close to $600, and only 4 months old? What does that tell you? I have had to add 5 gallons (bucket) with each wash to make sure all the soap washes out. Very loud, takes a long time to wash and just worthless. This last weekend, we tried to trade it for a used $150 agitator washer with a used appliance store and they said theyd never be able to sell it and refused the trade. What does that tell you about the washer?

Constantly does not clean clothes, always out of balance, codes constantly come up, only 2 1/2 years old and already rusting out. No matter what you do this washer does not want to work. Has special cycles for bulky loads but try to wash 7 towels and it will dance all over floor then shut down with an unbalanced code and you have to unplug to reset then wash towels again but not use spin and have to wring out towels by hand. I cannot believe the Maytag company has not recalled this very expensive pile of junk, and their service department is very rude and not helpful at all.Also as soon as you call an appliance repair company and tell them its a Maytag Bravos they say we do not fix those, do yourself a favor and junk it and buy any other brand. I have 3 kids now grown so we have bought about 5 washers over the years and when we saw that this was supposed to save water and energy and do bigger loads we were sold. Big mistake! Whatever you do never buy any appliance from Maytag. Products are garbage, service is nonexistent, and the cost will make you boil.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer in February 2012. I wish I had understood the workings of the washer before making the purchase. I am not at all happy that the lid locks as soon as the washer starts and unless I push a button to get the lid open. I cannot open the lid to maybe add more items or check to see if the water amount is sufficient or too much. I have no idea how much goes in for each water level. Of course, I cannot take water out but I could put more in if I see it is not enough. And after learning the water levels, I would know just how to determine the level I need. Some man must have designed the panel. Otherwise I am satisfied. I really like the large load capacity. I originally thought I wanted a front load to get a large capacity but this suits me fine.

I made the mistake of buying a Maytag 2 years ago, this machine would not wash clothes even when using the deep water wash. I should have looked at it closer, it is so full of modern computer garbage that I was having to wash clothes twice so the water saving was negative. I own a business across from a major shopping center so what we did was we loaded it up in one of our trucks and parked it in front of our business with a giant sign and invited people to take a look before buying one. In 6 months we must have had at least a 1000 people inquire.

I am, was, a loyal Maytag owner. The Bravos design, center hub, catches the clothes and rips the material. Customer service will only state damaged material is not warrantied. So I now have a washer that in addition to washing clothes rips them.

My Maytag Bravos washer is 6 years old. I had to have the motor replaced about 2 years ago. Now, it gets stuck on uL on every spin cycle. I had a technician come, and was told its just cheaper to replace the machine at this point. What happened to the Maytag man of old, the one who never has any work to do because the machines are built so well?!

Have a Bravo Quiet Series 300, does not clean clothes because on not enough water to wash with. Have to set it on Bulk to have it clean good enough. The way it agitate and rotate the clothes turns the wash into knotted pretzels (this also makes it harder to clean the clothes) which in turn makes the spin cycle vibrate badly. Cannot put wash in and leave because of this.

Since day one, no matter the size of the load or how careful I place the clothes or what level or water, washer vibrates and moves around the floor. I have had service out twice to recheck level but it still vibrates. Worst washer ever. I should have spent the money to repair my 20-year-old Kenmore.

Absolutely the worst washer I’ve ever had! Do not buy this washer. Even after a double rinse there is white matter left all over everything! I’ve taken photographs of my laundry after two rinses and it’s disgusting. I will be quite happy to submit the photographs at any time.

Maytag washing machine Model # MHWE500VW - 2 control boards only last 4 years. I paid top dollar, $1229.00 to be exact and the parts and labor are $659.00 with no guarantee that there wont be further problems. Technician told me that this is typical of Maytag products. Contacted Maytag and they told me to take a hike and have a nice day. I will attempt to get some help from the place of purchase, Hamai Appliance, Maui, Hawaii.

I got no help whatsoever. I will never buy in Maytag again. My washer has had 3 problems in 1 year. They tell you that they will send someone out the next day but they dont come until 4-5 days later.

When I attempted to contact Maytag about an issue in my 3 month old washer all I received is an automated email back saying to contact one of the repair places on their website. There was one, so I notified Maytag I would contact them. I contacted them. They said Maytag had not notified them that this was a warranty repair and if I wanted them to come out I would have to pay for it. I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

After only three years of gentle use, my Maytag front loading washer bearing went. The repairman said this was because of too much detergent and the repair bill would be over $1100.00 (more than the cost of a new machine). I would never buy this machine again.

Washer is noisy and water does not saturate clothes on normal wash. Have to use sheet setting for small or large load. Washer changes gears and it is so loud and clanks like something is falling apart.

I dont know where to start. This machine (Bravo XL Top Load Washer) is ridiculous! When I finally figured out how to start it, it did not rinse or spin clothes. I cannot figure out how to get it to do that so Im stuck with a washer full of wet clothes. To add insult to injury, I cannot reach into the washer to retrieve them. I am 52 and all washers are designed by freakishly tall people with NO REGARD FOR WOMEN apparently! Poorly designed! Poorly engineered! What a piece of junk!

I have a Maytag Bravos washer and on almost every other load, the dark clothes (mainly slacks) come out with white splotches on them and then I have to re-wash the pants and the splotches go away. I purchased a Maytag front loader washer less than a year ago. Based on their deceptive advertising, Maytags rarely need service (model MHWE201YW00). There was a loud banging within 11 months. I called service for the additional warranty I purchased. The service man told me this machine is shot. The bearing completely broke and the drum was loose. They ordered 3 huge boxes, 3-1/2 feet cubes delivered to my house. I had to drag them into my garage where they have been sitting for two weeks. I am now 4 weeks without a washer with 4 kids. Ive called Corporate Headquarters and have spoken to their Corporate Board Gwenn and Jackyln who seem to think they can diagnose the problem. I told them the machine smelled like it was burning and the last load was dripping wet and the clothes smelled burnt. This is a stackable in my kids bedroom and I told them I was concerned about an electrical fire. Ive already missed one day of work for this. I am now being told Jan. 11, 2013 is when it can be serviced. That would be 2 months without a machine. They are willing to endanger my children with wet wires and an electrical fire. Mr. Fettig is impossible to get in touch with and this customer service center apparently has no supervisors. What they say, goes. A class action should be started against Mr. Fettig and his team of crooks who are putting crap out into the market place, falsely advertising it and then not backing up when their product breaks less than a year and becomes a possible hazard in someones home. Ive sent to his home address a UPS letter to Mr. Fettig, letting him know if a fire starts in my home due to water on the wet wires (water that got behind the drum because of the faulty bearing), water that was leaking from the bottom of the washer that I hold him and his company personally responsible. They have been alerted to the problem numerous times and ignore it. I spoke to their Safety department and I asked what to do if I smell a burning smell when the machine was running. They told me to immediately shut it off and unplug. Yet Whirlpool is trying to put a Band-aid on a machine that has already been infected with water damage to the wires. This has been such a frustrating, stressful experience. Even 5 weeks from now, when my replacement parts are put in, I will worry each time the machine is run if there will be a spark from the damaged wire. Something must be done legally to stop these crooks from doing to this and getting away with it. All they care about is their profit margin. The Whirlpool creed to their customers is a bunch of bull! Mr. Fettig vacations at his home on Dolphine Island, Alabama while hardworking people are scrambling around trying to figure out what happened to their new appliance that promised to work but is broken in less than a year. He vacations at his home in Florida while the hard-earned money you spent on his product is a waste.

We purchased a Maytag Dishwasher in 2011. In 2014 I got no response from the control panel when trying to start the machine. Service came out and had to replace the control panel. The cost for that repair was $269.00. It has now just stopped working again. Same issue. After seeing all the posts, I realize that this is a prevalent issue and in some cases a safety concern. If Maytag knows about this issue with their control panels why have they not recalled or corrected these problems! Needless to say, I will never trust this company again!!! Model number MDB7749AWM2.

We bought a new commercial Maytag washer. It’s deep, it has the agitator, suppose to be the top of the line. I can do sheets and the top ones are dry when done. It doesnt get clothes clean especially if they are really dirty. So I add water to this wonderful machine——anyone wanting pictures of finished clothing I would be glad to send to you. Dirty jeans come out dirty jeans. If I forget and don’t add water it’s worse. So I watched it. It fills up to maybe halfway on clothes and this is on heavy soil and deep fill. I complained about it at the store and was told “he had one and it did fine” and you can’t get any that do any better.

My Husband bought a Maytag Bravos Washer 2 years ago this next month. The washer is extremely hard on clothes. We have to wash all clothes on hand wash to keep them from tearing up our clothes, and we are having to replace the door lock for the third time. Of course the last 2 times were not under warranty. So once again, I cant do laundry when I need to. Thanks.

Worst washer ever. Wish I had read all these reviews before I bought. I have had the same poor experience. Laundry doesnt even get wet while being washed. Agitation does not affect laundry. Just moves back and forth under laundry. Clothes do not come out clean. Feel I was ripped off.

Maytag Centennial - It came with the house. I think its a line made special for rent-to-own kind of places. I cannot stand the washer. It will not take fabric softener unless its in the ball and if you use extra rinse you dont get to use fab softener at all. (I like liquid fab softener on some things). Why it doesnt have a dispenser is beyond me. And the bleach dispenser is poorly designed, too close to the tub and splashes every time. Ive had this six months and would get rid of it in a heartbeat if I could afford to. Plus it snags towels. The washer is crap. And its a Maytag. I wish it would break so I could justify buying one that has some decent features like fab soft dispenser, bleach dispenser that doesnt splash, drum that doesnt snag.

I have a Maytag Bravos washer bought 6 years ago. Recently, it started giving trouble by stopping at spin stage. I contacted a local service company and they immediately told me even without looking at machine, that it is a control board problem and will cost a lot to repair and suggested to buy some other company washer instead of repairing. They told it is the third similar complaint this week. But I contacted Maytag and they suggested their factory authorized technician who could not correctly locate the problem but charged for the visit. Later he also came to the same conclusion. Thus my previous washer from another company lasted for more than 20 years (Still in working condition), this washer required a service with a cost same as its price!!!

Purchased new Maytag washing machine July 17, 2011. Have had several problems with it over the past three years. Most of the time it would not complete a load of laundry and would get stuck before the drain and spin cycle. Last week, the spin cycle became extremely loud. Had a repair person come out and was told the motor bearings were bad. Estimated repair cost $700. Purchased this unit new for $569.00. Called Maytag, was told that 10-year warranty on drive motor and wash basket did NOT include the bearings. Asked if they could help out with repair cost, was told no. Will never purchase another Maytag product again as they do not stand behind their products. Household has 4 people in it so use of this machine was light to medium.

We purchased this Maytag top load washer less than three years ago. Spin cycle stopped working and repair for new actuator motor is $240 (machine cost $500). I should have read Maytag’s reviews before we bought it (averaging about 2/5). Living on name - don’t buy one.

Maytag washing machine is the loudest machine Ive ever heard. It doesnt wash the clothes well leaves spots. We had a new barrel put in and it still walks across the floor. The water level doesnt come up high enough, makes grinding noises and it takes forever for the wash to be done. How can you say its an energy saver if it goes on for an hour or so. Very dissatisfied and pissed off.

I purchased it 8 months ago. I have had problems with the machine leaving clothes soaked at the end of cycle. I have contacted Maytag (still under warranty) and they replaced the motor. The first load after repair still had the same problem. They said the check drain was not clogged. The snaked drain has no backups. After every wash, I have to reset the cycle to drain and spin. The machine spins for seconds and fills back up with water and doesnt spin again, but does drain. Clothes are sopping wet at the end of cycle. I contacted Maytag. They said I could be billed for customer education ($129) if they find no problem (threat). I want my money for purchase returned or at least 3/4ths. I expected my new machine to last years, not months.

The Maytag Bravos washing machine may well be the worst appliance available for purchase. Sure it is a high efficiency machine that saves on water -- the clothes are often still dry when the complete cycle is finished. Many times there is still soap residue on the clothes. Forget cleaning anything with any amount of dirt on it because it seems as though items are even more filthy after washing them. I have tried everything the company advised and still my clothes are not clean. My advice... please do not purchase this machine. You would be better off taking your clothes to a river and beating them on a rock. #wearingdirtyclothesforever

I purchased a Maytag Bravos line washer model # mvwx500xwo back in Oct. of 2010 thinking that it would be great to save money on the water bill. I first had issues with it putting holes in my clothes. I then found out if you do not zip up all zippers and button all buttons, the machine will rip them up due to the high speed spin cycles. Now, the washer will not fill with water or start the wash cycle. I mean really, its less than two years old and I have to shell two hundred plus dollars to fix a washer that only cost $500. I guess I know what brand not to shop for next.

We had a Fisher & Paykel Washer that lasted 14 years. This Maytag Bravos XL washer has been the worst machine I have ever owned. The clothes come out dirtier than ever. In todays world all technology is becoming disposable, Where is the Maytag repairman now? I have tried all of the settings, to have a decent wash. I am ready to throw this out. Lowes you need to do something about this. It may be made in America but now we know why Japanese and Korean electronics just work! Damaged Clothes/Clothes not being washed thoroughly enough are my biggest pet peeves with this washing machine.

We purchased a Maytag 4.2-cu ft High Efficiency Top Load Washer from Lowes. The pump went out within 6 weeks of purchase. Maytag could not get a technician to come to our area to fix the washer. They finally told me they would give me $150.00 for labor if I found someone to fix it. We ended up taking it to a Maytag certified repair shop. It cost us a $99.00 service fee. They ordered a new pump from Maytag, part cost 137.46. I called to get a reimbursement from Maytag and they denied my claim. Their reason I was told was because I didnt call the part in myself. I dont understand why they didnt even reimburse the $99.00. The washer was a lemon and Maytag did not honor their offer, nor the warranty. Very time consuming and bad experience.
