I dont have a big kitchen so I need a med dishwasher. This one is great. I do not see why you need a bigger one unless big family. I needed one in black so they got me one. It is sleek and I love how it matches my other Kenmore stove and microwave. Now I just need Kenmore fridge. The price was great. One of the key factor I bought the item. The oven box seems to have bowed out and the racks fall out and do not fit anymore. I assumed Sears would take responsibility for this as this should never happen. When I brought the problem to them, they said I must buy new racks costing about $150.00 and that there was no recall on this problem. I think this is unfair and irresponsible on the part of Sears to not recall these ranges or at the very least, replace at no charge the racks.I have been a faithful Kenmore customer for over 30 years, but I will never buy another Kenmore appliance or any appliance from Sears again unless they do the right thing and correct this problem. Without proper fitting racks, the oven is virtually unusable, not to mention a safety hazard as hot items placed on the racks can cause injury when the racks fall out of the groves. I have been burnt more than once due to this. Shame on you Sears!

Purchased the Kenmore Electric Range Model #790-94182310 in March of 2015. Used mostly the top, some baking but no more than 10 times a month. Babied this range! Wiped up any spills myself. However had a spillover and decided to do the first self-clean. Range is 1 year and 8 months old. The error code came on flashing F-10 on the display. I hit the off button but the F-10 continued to flash. Turned off electric supply at the breaker. Never had a ring or anything other than the F-10 to alert me. By the time it cooled, I had done the research for troubleshooting which was very helpful through YouTube by a Sears technician. We learned there was probably a temperature sensor problem. We also learned how to test it and the control panel. After removing the back panel, we discovered they both were heat-damaged. Part of the control panel was blackened by fire. The odor that I smelled and thought was the cleaning, was the plastic around the panel and the elements within the control panel. Called Sears - they offered to send a technician that would cost $89, then of course it would need the parts. Didnt bother finding out what that would cost. Did not buy the extended warranty. Who would have thought that the first time you self-cleaned an oven it would catch something on fire!!! Very unsatisfied. We are going to attempt to fix it ourselves but we do not intend to ever purchase Kenmore again. Loved my KitchenAid that I had for years and only got rid of it because it was black and I wanted to change to white. Needless to say, we are angry. Also said they could not find where there was a recall on the range. Gave me another to call which I will do. Now to hope for a recall which I feel is necessary!!! I have pictures but for some reason says file type not accepted???

On December 14, 2014, I opened the microwave and discovered the inside glass on the door had shattered for no obvious reason. I was not using the microwave. I had been cooking on the stove top, but have no idea why it would have shattered, unless there was too much heat? This is obviously a manufacturing defect but when I called Sears, they required I purchase at $259 warranty, even though the product had been installed 14 months ago. This is on top of a two-year-old top load high efficiency washer that wont start without unplugging and replugging in the power source and a refrigerator with an ice maker that was installed wrong and caused much damage from the water leaking. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER KENMORE PRODUCT.

In less than three years the oven wont heat up passed 200 degrees. The circuit board costs over 200$. I didnt buy the Sears extended warranty. Its a Kenmore! The independent service man that came out said, he would not recommend this repair, because, this problem would keep occurring. He said, he would not feel like he had done me right, if he had repaired my stove. He charged me nothing, apologized, and left. I stuffed a hundred dollar bill in his shirt pocket, and thanked him. I called Sears. They said, I should have bought the service policy. I wont buy anything from Sears again. I replaced it with a 200$ Plain Jane stove from Lowes, no electronic, no bells, no whistles. It works just fine!

Almost started a house fire when it first happened. I have unplugged it, reset breaker, and it works for a week or two then does it again. I have learned to cook using broil but it gets too hot and code error F10 flashes. We were told by Sears that they could send out a repairman for $240. My husband removed the digital controls and you can plainly see the part that caught fire. He took it to our local Sears and the manager said it would not have been covered under warranty anyway because all that covers is the drive train of the stove. Basically the shell, since this isnt a car we are talking about. He said he could order the part for $109 and it would take 5-7 days to come in. We told him we thought Sears should cover that cost and they would not. In the past 20 years we have completely furnished two kitchens from Sears in an attempt to keep the company afloat. I will never buy anything from them again. I hope when the customer service people - wherever they are - get their pink slips, they see that I have signed them.

I purchased a Kenmore brand gas range in February 2008 for over $1,000 on sale. Sears installed. I found out upon delivery that it was manufactured by Electrolux. I was unhappy with the stovetop from the start. Its almost impossible to clean once something spilled on it while hot. Functionally, it worked okay. However, when doing self-cleaning process, the oven never really seemed to get clean. On Saturday, March 16, 2013, I ran a cleaning cycle for only 2 hours as it was not that soiled. As per the salespersons instructions, I also cleaned the cast iron stovetop grates in the oven. I noticed that after 30 minutes after cycle completion, stove is still radiating a lot of heat. It was then I noticed that the clear cover over the touch plate on the control panel was melted and discolored. The touch pads would not function. I contacted Sears Appliance and was told I could purchase warranty coverage; otherwise, there would be a service call as well as parts and labor. When I asked if there had been any similar problems, I was told no. When I asked why I would be charged if it was a manufacturing defect, I was told to contact Kenmore. So I contacted Kenmore and was advised it was not covered by any warranty, there were no problems known and no recalls had been issued. Upon checking online, I found numerous similar complaints regarding the control panel melting and one case where the oven actually caught on fire within five minutes of starting cleaning cycle. The individual model numbers were not listed nor the manufacturer. But since most of Kenmore appliances are made by the same manufacturer and just labeled Frigidaire, Electrolux, Tappan, etc., I figure it doesnt really matter. Using my preferred appliance repair person, the panel was replaced at a cost of $298. I had to order the touch pad from Kenmore and Im expecting a 2-3 week wait for delivery and additional cost of $22 for part. Labor is unknown at this time. I know appliances are only built to last 3-5 years anymore, but this still poses a real hazard. Im afraid to run the self-cleaning cycle now for fear of a repeat incident and additional expense. The repairman stated he was unable to determine what caused the malfunction. I believe its partially a design problem as one oven vent is directly below the control panel. I received no satisfaction from Sears or Kenmore. Im wondering if a class action has been discussed.

My Kenmore elite has been a godsend, with back issues, I was left with only being able to use the burners on my other stoves in the past, but with my double upper oven/lower convection oven, I have a choice of which to choose. I love the easy self-cleaning, push button cooking timer and delay functions along with the 5 different size burners, (it also came with a griddle) the middle burner is oval shape. The child safety locking and cool-touch doors are extra importantfunctions just to name a few. I havent had any problems with the oven or functions in the 2 years Ive had my oven. Kenmore has been a solid reliable brand for many years. I love my oven!

The range had to be repaired. The dishwasher had to be repaired. The microwave had to be repaired and might need to be replaced. If you buy these appliances, you will have to buy the extended warranty otherwise, you will be faced with thousands of dollars of repair cost once the original warranty expires. I expect that these appliances will need to be replaced within 3-5 years and we will not buy Kenmore Elite.

When the door is opened to place food inside, the glass tray begins to rotate all by itself, even before any cooking selection is made on the touch pad. There is also the sound of the fan running but the oven itself is off. Once the door is closed, it stops. After food cooks, I open the door to take out food and the glass tray and fan do the same thing. Tried unplugging the unit to see if that would reset it, didnt work. Still malfunctions.This is more Chinese junk with the Kenmore name! Sears makes huge profits by cheating its loyal customers and almost forcing us to purchase expensive service contracts. Ive been a Sears customer since 1992; now that will end. By the time I pay for repair of the 3 year old microwave, it would cost much more than the $160, that included the 2 year service agreement. You cant simply throw it away or place it in the recycle bin. Its only 3 years old! The Panasonic oven it replaced was 23 years old! What does that tell you about the quality of Kenmore products? We are making the Chinese rich while WE are forced to keep buying inferior products made by them.

The appliance was not delivered to my niece until October 29, 2019. Just 29 days after having the appliance installed my niece was cooking Thanksgiving dinner on November 28, 2019 at 350 degrees when she heard a loud crash from the kitchen. She ran in the kitchen to discover that the inner oven door glass had shattered all over the inside of the range peppering Thanksgiving dinner with shards of hot glass. Her Thanksgiving dinner was completely ruined and the only thing she had to be thankful about was that her two year old son was nowhere near the shards of hot glass when the oven door glass shattered. After further research the day after Thanksgiving we learned that Sears has had this issue with Kenmore ranges ever since 2011 and numerous injuries have resulted over the past 8 years. Despite countless complaints to the CPSC Sears has chosen not to issue a recall nor take the affected model off the market. My wife and I attempted, on November 29, 2019, over the phone with the third party in India Sears has outsourced customer to, to acquire a refund for the obviously defective product but the only response we received was a technician would come out to verify that the glass had actually shattered.As a last resort to get some sort of satisfaction, my wife and I returned to the Sears store on Black Friday November 29, 2109 where we purchased the defective product and forced the store manager to pick up the defective range and refund our money. The Kenmore Gas Range Model 790 is a dangerous product that will soon severely injure someone. Sears is negligent and has with full knowledge continued to sell a dangerous and defective product and all the while focused on profit rather than safety. Please help save the public from this corporate greed.

I wiped it up as best I could and waited a couple of weeks to run the clean cycle. Our oldest was graduating and I wanted to show off my new kitchen with a clean oven. The clean cycle worked fine but afterwards it would not heat. It took the repairman over six weeks to come out and then another three months to put in a new part. This happened two more times since then. The last time I told the repairman I was going to run a clean cycle as soon as he left, I did and afterward it worked. Yeah! We replaced two of the racks also. My turkey fell out at Thanksgiving, my primerib at Christmas. I cleaned the oven again Dec 27,2011 and the repairman is supposed to come today. I paid over $2300 for this oven. I thought I was purchasing a top of the line product. I feel I should be able to clean it everyday if I want and I shouldnt have to worry about myself or my family being severely burned and maimed making a meal.

I have seen lots of comments from other people that have the same issue. We did not buy the extended warranty, so our 2 year old oven is now worthless. This water heater is now leaking 7 years later. When I called to arrange a replacement, I was told that this warranty is no good since I did not pay extra when it was replace in 2008. I was never told this in all my phone calls to Sears in 2008 and during the horrific process I experienced, in 2008, where I had to find the plumber myself and make all the phone calls and arrangements myself since everything Sears was supposed to be doing and they were not.Now I am told there is no warranty on this Power Miser 12 which is 9 years old. I will never get another appliance from Sears again. In my conversation with the representative he just ended it with I hope the rest of your day goes better. If you are planning on buying a water heater, I suggest you run away from Sears. They are not the company they used to be. They just dont care anymore about reputation. I talked to a very pleasant woman who informed me that my warranty was up on November 9th and there was nothing she could do for me but schedule a service call. The earliest date was Friday. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and was told they were not given the authority to change anything or help any farther. She told me this was my best option. Thursday, Thanksgiving I have a house full of family coming and no more Sear oven to use. My hope was Sears could stand by their appliances and in good faith be able to fix the problem. We have purchased thousands of dollars in Sear appliances, mower etc. One year and done on your top of the line appliances doesnt make for the bestadvertisement. I hope you can find it in your budget to rectify the tight spot Sear will be putting us in.

No explosions just a noise that made me fearful of using the oven and definitely reduced my use of it. I returned from holiday vacation to a stove leaking gas with the eyes turned off. The local gas company conducted an inspection and declared the stove dangerous and unsafe. Now the stove sits in my kitchen with a red tag labeled dangerous. If this is a design flaw or intentional to generated more revenue, we will not know unless the government gets involved and requires a recall. This was the answer I got after several days of the run around with Sears saying it is a Kenmore problem and Kenmore telling me they are owned by Sears and it is a Sears problem. All the while denying there is even a problem and the only way they would acknowledge the problem is if the government had enough complaints. Have to get creative with some dishes to ensure they dont prevent the spray bars from spinning. Running two loads wouldnt be an issue if it didnt seem like the standard cycle took all night to finish. The dishwasher complements our kitchen. It looks sharp and the stainless steel is fairly easy to keep clean. The handle is pretty sleek, too. Purchased the dishwasher as part of a Black Friday special. Based on the available features, I still think it offers one of the better values for the upper mid-range of dishwashers.

They would negotiate the price. I think this is a defect, not something that the consumer should be responsible to fix. According to Kenmore rep if it is a defect then the manufacturer, Frigidaire would be responsible.Today I called Frigidaire and was told once the name Kenmore is on the product and it is sold by Kenmore the liability and rights are Kenmore. Waiting to hear back from Kenmore on Frigidaire’s response. The issue is I as a consumer bought a costly product from Kenmore and unless I buy an extended warranty they do not stand behind the product. Not to mention this issue is a hazard. Within 5 years, there was a flash of light and a small explosion at the oven control panel and then it went blank. The part cost $170 to replace, assuming that would fix it, according to a parts store expert (he was a former repairman). I didnt think it was worth replacing and had to get a new range. The warranty was for only one year on the Kenmore and according to a store salesman all range brands only have a one year warranty today too. Manufacturers online claim that these types of ranges should last about 16 years. I have since found out that although the latest version of this Kenmore stove rates well with Consumer Reports, it is made by Electrolux, which has a poor repair history and poor brand reliability, according to Consumer Reports. It looks exactly like the Kenmore I bought 5 years ago. I wonder if the Kenmore I purchased in 2011 was also an Electrolux model. I definitely dont recommend the Kenmore Electric Range.

Following the directions but still burning items (I have since found out that it shouldve performed much better than that but I had no reference point) and it cant cook more than one item at a time without slowing down the cooking process or burning items. The last straw was two weeks ago, 12/10/16. It made a very loud POP while trying to bake a pizza. It totally stopped baking. For the last two weeks I have gotten the worst customer service through Sears that I have ever experienced. The local store hasnt been able to help (in fact when I tried to call their listed number, they never answered and then the phone call just cut off after 3 minutes of listening to it ring). I had to go into the store to tell the manager that their phone hadnt worked for 3 days as I had tried to reach them, then the 800 Sears Service number that is listed to call has been just terrible. Those at the 800 number must be trained to never help the customer or admit that their product hasnt delivered as it should have AND they arent allowed to give out any information on someone higher than their level to complain to... Absolutely no accountability. The main numbers of 1-800-469-4663 and 1-847-286-2500 have given me NO satisfaction. They have transferred me to Sears Holdings, Sears Solutions, Sears Rewards and NO ONE has been able to help me. All say it is on me, I didnt buy a warranty but that they can come out for $89 to assess it! Are you kidding me? My Stove/oven isnt made to last even 2 years? My phone call issues range from completely dropping my calls, putting me on hold for 25 minutes and never returning to speak to me so I had to hang up and call back and start all over, saying there is no recall or defect on this item so its costs are on me. I have been trying to give Sears some time to take some responsibility for their defective product...I finally had another local repair man come out and they determined it is the Control Panel... Cost is estimated at $250 (thats just for the item), then add the labor. I called Sears with this information. They have no solution other than to tell me to pay their tech to come out and assess it. I will NOT do that. I will not buy a Sears product ever again and I will do my best to let everyone I know to never buy from there again. Other than the store manager who did a good job hearing me but had no authority to help me, I have experienced ZERO customer service. I spoke to the store manager yesterday and there was a sign of a very little movement after I pressed more that my appliance shouldnt break in under 2 years and that anyone must have a warranty for something under 2 years. She was going to contact the Service Factory Manager directly for me. I have doubts that anything will result and plan to buy with a local company. The individuals on the phone are not accountable to anyone... They dont seem to care if you have a lemon or if you will not do business with their company anymore. I was told if I had an issue and wanted to speak to a manager, that I could call back and hopefully I could get through to the Arizona call center versus the Texas one. Are you kidding me? No accountability, No customer service, No standing behind their products and making it right with customers. Terrible. I/we have many more years of buying power and it wont be with Sears. I really hope my review will prevent someone else putting their money and faith into any Sears products.

I have contacted the Sears store where I purchased a washer & dryer in August 2012. The design of this machine is unbelievable and I am far from satisfied. This machine requires that one put the clothes and detergent and/or bleach in with the clothes. The machine immediately locks and fills with about a quart of water. Meanwhile, the clothes are setting in strong soapy water or bleach for over a minute. Subsequently, it results in spotted and ruined clothing, towels, sheets, etc. In addition, you can only wash clothes in the delicate cycle, to prevent ripping and shredding of laundry. Once the cycle is finished, one must go to the rinse/spin cycle in order to add Downy. This wastes water.Finally, I was directed to Repair Service where the Rep told me that the cost of a one year warranty was $80.00. She said that I only had to pay her $49.99 at that time and to give a check to the repairman for the additional $30.01 on the day of service. I thought it odd that she would not allow me to pay the entire $80.00 while on the phone but went along with it anyway. I was in TOTAL SHOCK when the repairman told me that I had to write him a check for $80.00. I explained to him what the Warranty Rep had told me and he said that the Warranty was $49.99 per month with an $80.00 deductible each visit. Who in his or her right mind would pay $599.88 for a contract on a washing machine? One could purchase a top of the line washer for this amount.SEARS IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AS A RESULT OF POOR SALES (I WONDER WHY). Do not make any purchase from Sears because the motto on the doors of each store say, Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back is not worth the ink that it was stamped on with! Sears has promised to refund me $49.99+$80.00+$30.00 gift card. This paltry sum does not even begin to reimburse me for all of the discolors clothes, towels, blankets and all of the discolored clothes that have been ruined by this machine! My attorney (Consumer Affairs attorney) is filing a lawsuit in federal court. If anyone else wants to join in on this lawsuit, you may e-mail me! Do not waste your time trying to deal with corporate because they will do nothing to help you. I am 71 years old and was not told of the bad features on this machine.

Next we started having problems with the water dispenser. The dispenser would freeze not allowing us to get any water. We scheduled another repair which took about 3 weeks. The tech came 1 hour 45 minutes late with an 18-year old girl whom he said was his daughter. The tech worked on the refrigerator and left. By the time he got to the end of the driveway the refrigerator was not working again. I called for another service appt. and was scheduled for 2 weeks later. The same repairman arrived on time with the same 18-year old girl. The tech worked on the refrigerator and said he had the temperature as low as it could go and fixed the water dispenser. I was told not to keep the milk at the top of the refrigerator because it was freezing. 2 days after the repairman left the water dispenser was not working again. We were also experiencing things at the top of the refrigerator freezing. Service was called again and about 3 weeks later a tech arrived on time to repair the water dispenser. This time the tech used our hair dryer to unthaw a pipe at the bottom of the refrigerator behind the crisp bins. The tech said that we needed to keep food items away from the walls of the refrigerator and away from the sensor. The tech arranged the items in the refrigerator to help us out. One day after he left the same problem reoccurred. Service was called again and was scheduled 3 weeks later. We are waiting for February 11th to see the outcome of this repair. Someone has to take off work each time we need service. This has been a nightmare! Each time you call service you are transferred and placed on hold for one half hour at a time.

We were able to pull the appliance from the wall and unplug it, at which point the flames died out. I purchased a Kenmore Electric Smoothtop Range Model #79092302014 in May 2012. In February this year (2016) the baking element stopped working. I called Sears (where I had purchased it) and they told me I needed a new baking element for $118.25 plus $10 shipping (!), so I ordered it. The repairman suspected the problem might not really be the baking element at all, but since Sears was so positive that was it, he installed the new baking element. It did not work! So I called to Sears to ask how to return it and they told me it was not returnable since it had been installed. They went on to say that if I hadnt installed it, they would take it back! This made no sense at all -- how on earth would one know it didnt work if one did not install it?The rep told me it was just too bad, that I was stuck with the new $130 part, and that Id just have to buy a new range. Unless I wanted to pay Sears to send out a repairman for a flat fee of $120 before making any repairs, but since it was out of warranty it was unlikely that whatever the problem really was would be covered. After only 2-1/2 years! Kenmore used to be the best! Now, theyve slipped so far that I will never buy another Kenmore appliance. I will definitely report this to the CEO of Sears.

You can fit a lot in this unit. The space is better than the chest freezer I replaced. I like how every area keeps the same temperature as well. Very nice unit. The outside is white which matches my other outdoor appliances. The style is also plain and easy to clean. I wanted something simple in design and not hard to keep up. This unit fits that need. For the price I was very happy. It blew me away compared to something I was looking at from Costco. I knew what I wanted and this fit that expectation but at first avoided it because I thought it might have been out of my price range.

It nearly burnt my home down (several times). The only way to turn the broiler off was to pull the oven out of the wall and unplug the oven. Sears offered $150, which doesnt even cover repairs. And if posts are true, it doesnt even fix the problem. Make right on this. Look it up: Kenmore oven broiler. Dont risk your families’ lives with Kenmore! I just paid $750 for a new oven which you owe us for. I am not taking a chance with my family’s lives because of poor manufacturing and negligence of human safety. Yesterday we had our Kenmore elite refrigerator repaired yet again. Ice maker issues again. Repairman put in a new ice maker that now only has 2 screws that hold it in whereas there used to be 5. Therefore when the water came in to the ice maker it didnt go into the cup/tray instead just spilling all over. He turned off the ice maker and told my wife to have me turn down the water pressure when I got home and left. The ice maker is not screwed at the top allowing it to tip away from the water line and making the water spill. If I turned down the pressure it would be worse. We spent $20,000 at sears in 7 years - craftsman rider and garage door openers, Kenmore fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove, washer, dryer. A treadmill and vacuum cleaner. All in 7 years. All Kenmore was elite series. Problems with fridge were almost immediate. We have a light fixture meltdown, complete freezer ice up, control board changes, several ice maker issues, water dispenser always slow then stopped working. Complete shut downs with error codes. Most of these I have fixed myself, including yesterday’s episode after he left us high and dry. Even had a wire break smack dab in the middle of the water dispenser door that we were told could not be fixed because the doors are sealed at the factory and cannot be opened up. How does a wire break inside of a sealed door unless it was damage when being installed? Said I would need a new $800 door. My wife and I managed to peel open enough of the door to see 2 wires that had very clear slice marks in them one being all the way through. We fixed them and the water dispenser worked like it had never worked before. Those 2 wires were cut during manufacture and hung on by a strand or two till finally letting go and then no more dispenser. Microwave tray would clunk and tip every time it went back and forth till I figured out the wheels were on the arm wrong and once I switched them it has been fine. Dishwasher needs to be run twice per load to get dishes clean. Stove works great. New washer sometimes stops mid cycle and says no H2O. Consumer reports says by Kenmore Elite. Well I will tell you they dont know crap. I have almost no Kenmore appliances that work without problems, spent about $9000 on them, none older than 7 years some as new as 1 year and I will never consider another. We used to buy everything at Sears including a Dyson vacuum (love it) and a Nordic track treadmill (very good) and all my craftsman hand tools over the last twenty five years. No more. I am done. They have done almost nothing to help us or to keep us as customers. When Sears finally goes out of business (been hurting for years) I am going to call the customer service center and laugh at them. Goodbye Sears and I hope you’re gone soon. Kenmore is trash!!!!!!! Sears does not like their customers, just their money. They got mine, for the last time.

The Convection oven does not reach temperature. I called Sears (the Worst company to try and reach a department), after being transferred to the Philippines over and again, I was told a technician was schedule to come out on 12/12. Guess what, I am not waiting 2 weeks for a tech to come out to tell me the part is on back order. I want the unit exchanged immediately! What kind of junk is coming to consumers that we have to deal with this? They want me to wait 48 hrs to hear from the installation team.Updated on 12/19/2015: Continuation... Sears came out on 12/12 to replace the non working Kenmore Elite convection over the range unit. The installers did not re tape the exhaust vent and the vent air is being circulated through my cabinets. The new Kenmore Elite convection does NOT WORK! Once again hit 350/450 degrees (to check temp). Youre lucky if the temp gets to 300 degrees (yet the unit said it reached temp). I asked for a service tech to come out to verify that the oven was not getting to temp. Bob came out, tried to give me a line of bull that the electricity was not good but I immediately called an electrician who said The tech is trying to snow you. Dont believe him! Bob went on to say that the heating elements are located in the left rear causing uneven heating where the left will get done first and the right side would take more time. Bob went on to say that ALL the GEs and Kenmores he has worked on and as a matter of fact, all the new microwaves are NOT GETTING TO TEMP. He said most people use it to reheat, make popcorn, make a pizza. They dont bake/roast in it. Well my thinking this is FRAUD AND FALSE ADVERTISING as well as UNSAFE. Poultry, meats, etc. need to be cooked at a certain temp. If some inexperienced person follows a recipe... put in at 350, bake 25 minutes and takes it out to eat it, the poultry, meat will not be cooked because at 350 youd be lucky if the temp gets to 250. This is now my second Kenmore Elite and they are suppose to come out today between 1-5pm to install yet another 3 new Kenmore Elite. I am beside myself that Bob said all the GEs he installed in Monsey, NY are having the same problems. To me and my opinion, that means that the vendor who they purchased the heating elements is selling bad stuff. Where is quality control in the companies who are selling these products? In addition I feel that each time they remove/install, they are weakening the cabinets that the units are being installed in. Where does it stop? Who needs to take responsibility? There should be a recall on these and/or the companies need to send out a tech at their own expense to have the microwave/convection tested. To see that they reach temperature. This is UNSAFE for people wanting to bake or roast in the units.

As long as I used a very good brand of dishwasher liquid and arranged the dishes in the washer so that nothing was covered up by another dish the dishes all came out very clean and spot free. The size of this washer was good for my family of 5. We didnt have to do much hand washing as we were always able to put most if not all the dishes into this washer to be washed. I love the color of this washer because it matched the colors of my other appliances. Black does not show a lot of stains. It just really blends well even with my cabinetry. It is very easy to wipe clean. The perceived value is that it is a good solid brand that is worth more than the money paid for it. It makes my life so much easier being that we do have a nice sized family and as much as I hate to do the dishes this really makes it easy for me to get the dishes done so it is more worth the money we paid for it.

Of course being electric, it does turn itself on and off but that just regulates the temp of the element not your pan. Hard to keep clean especially if you spill something that has sugar in it, like bbq sauce, and it burns on as you still have to cook and burner takes a while to cool. First two are the charred and burnt cabinet, third is the hot spot under the oven where heat transfer happened, the last three are the sunken bottom and heating element.

I believe these were near bottom of the cost curve. Even though we replaced both units, they were both in good operating condition after ten years. We gave them to a neighbor who had rental properties and they are still going strong there. There were some options that we did not have, and that we wanted, so we upgraded and looked quite awhile before deciding. We wanted an HE unit, and we wanted the bells and whistles that tell you when stuff is done. We wanted more settings on the dryer. So we went to Sears and actually found something that suited us very well. We ended up, however, purchasing Whirlpool, because of the customer service at Lowes.The units were white. Dirt tended to accumulate under the lid of the washer and it needed wiped out regularly (which probably should be done at any rate). They were, as I said, pretty basic. White, utilitarian. Kenmore appliances, of any type (and weve had several so I can say this from first-hand experience) are some of the best appliances available anywhere. The units range from basic to sophisticated, and the price tag increases as the options are added. In the long run the value is, in my opinion, excellent. I would highly recommend any Kenmore appliance.

I just did the self cleaning on it, which took 3 hours (not as long as some ovens). It burned off pretty much everything but left some crusties between the crack of the door and the oven but other than that it cleaned itself great (I just had to wipe the ash out). The top is fairly easy to clean but to get the ceramic really clean and shiny I use the Kenmore cooktop ceramic cleaner. Its wonderful.

The proof in the pudding is that the VENT hole from the oven on the left hand side has caused the finishing to come right off. One day i was cleaning the stove and bam the finish right above the venting area washed right off... Not exactly what I call QUALITY...Next time I intend to take my trusty super magnet with me anywhere I intend to buy stainless appliances and ensure that they product is exactly that, stainless steel. Magnets dont stick to stainless steel 18/10 or higher far as I know and that should be proof enough, plus I can always ask more questions and check demo models more closer. I am definitely not planning on another KENMORE forever here after. Thats for sure...

My Kenmore double oven circuit board went bad a month after the warranty went out. Called Sears and they said that I should have bought the extended warranty. They agreed to pay half the cost. A year later the new board went bad and I replaced it myself. Now a year after that the board is going bad yet again. The board cost about 200 bucks. There should be a recall on this expensive piece of junk. No more Sears products for me.

I have been using this product for over a year now and it has been working very efficiently. When I load the dishes, the washer removes all food and stains in minutes and makes the dishes like plates, spoons and even big vessels absolutely clean. It states that it removes 99.99% bacteria while washing them. The dishes do not feel wet when I remove them. They are very dry and I do not need to wipe them with a cloth. It is larger in capacity than my previous dishwasher even though it looks smaller. There is plenty of room on the top rack for tall glassware and the top tray lifts and lowers for bigger pots. The sleek, nondescript stainless steel finish allows it to go with pretty much any brand of appliance that you may have in the rest of the kitchen. The top buttons are aesthetically pleasing. It looks good in my kitchen. This dishwasher was an excellent value and beat all other dishwashers in its price range. It has great price and it looks like it should have cost more.

Kenmore had the features we wanted, the color we preferred and the price range we wanted to stay in. Kenmore is also a recognized, popular brand. The dishwasher has met our expectations and I love the pot scrubber feature. I also like that I can turn off the drying cycle. It also lets me customize my load preference like light wash, pots and pans etc. However, sometimes the dishes arent totally dry even when I choose to have them dried. A few times Ive had to rerun the dishwasher because the dishes were still dirty and the casserole dish had baked on noodles.

I chose this brand and model initially because it was on sale for a great price and the HE cycle thats good for saving money and for the environment got me convinced with its added bonus. I like the different cycle choices including the HE cycle. It also was very quiet for a dishwasher. They can be quite noisy so this was a nice surprise for us. Also, it wasnt too big but seemed to fit more dishes inside than you would think it would. However, it had some strange slits were you just couldnt fit larger dishes into that seemed like they should fit. I also didnt like a couple of things like it didnt seem to clean the dishes very well on any cycle and thats with us prewashing and pre-soaking. All in all, it was alright decision due to not very much money being spent at all. If I had paid full price, I wouldve been very disappointed with this unit.

Ive never had a washer where I didnt have to pre-soak stains for them to actually come out. This washer does that, which is awesome since I have a chef husband and 16 month baby whose clothes get tons of stains. It has a huge capacity! I can wash entire loads without the washer becoming unbalanced and making a racket, which saves me a lot of time and aggravation! I love the silver color instead of plain old white. It doesnt take up any more space than our old washer, but its much deeper so it can hold more. The buttons are easily accessible and the functions are easy to read and understand. Everything I could ask for from a washer are included with this one. Im so happy that I bought it. The low price was a huge plus as well. It beat out any other washer in the price range as well as any that were more expensive.

This very expensive electric range is inferior. The oven walls have warped to the point the racks fall down. They do not sit correctly in the oven and fall when you place trays of food on the rack. Very dangerous when a tray full of hot food falls when you are trying to move it. Control panel is now faulty and creating a toxin type smell and shutting the stove and oven down. I am basically afraid of my oven. Sears wants nothing to do with taking responsibility for these product defects. I will never again purchase a Kenmore product. Getting rid of the oven tomorrow and purchased a Whirlpool product. It pains me to not fight the battle but I cannot do without a working oven. I have also read so many other complaints similar to this one from other consumers. I will not recommend anyone to buy a Kenmore range.

They use ARS for their warranty claims and which they are rude and just plain liars... I have taken a day off work as they require a 9 to 5 window for an appointment.After calling Sears three times during that day to say I havent heard from the contractor all three times they (Sears) confirmed yes he is coming. The last time I contacted ARS myself as now Sears is closed. They told me he wasnt coming, so a day off work wasted... This has been going on for 4 weeks now, so my conclusion is I threw the Kenmore range out of my house and purchased a different brand. Take my advice. Do not buy Kenmore products. You will be disappointed if something goes wrong.

Kenmore Elite dual oven Electric Range Model 790. Purchased this stove in late 2009. Within months, the touch sensors on the back panel would work only intermittently. Called Sears to have repairs made to my new stove and they walked us through pressing lots of buttons on the display board to reset it. Problem persisted, but didnt have the time/energy to look into it further. Months later, the top oven stopped working correctly. Not sure what happened, but anything we cooked was raw on top and burned to a crisp on the bottom. A few more calls later to their service department where, once again, they walked us through the process of turning the top oven on to as hot as it would go. Recording the temperature using a thermometer we had to place in the oven, turn the oven down, wait for it to cool down, record the temp, etc., etc.Again, we gave up and decided my time is more valuable than a working top oven and had already spent HOURS on the phone being shuffled around from department to department (Warranty Dept, Customer Service, Customer Solutions, Home Warranty, back to customer Service where I was transferred incorrectly back to Home Warranty...). So, we lived with an intermittently working board and now a clearly improperly heating top oven. BUT - we didnt buy the extended warranty so we were now out of luck since a year has since passed.Fast forward three blissful (not) years with this piece of crap oven and we start to notice that the racks in the bottom oven seem to be very loose. Hmmmm. Take all racks out, rearrange them thinking that perhaps they have designated slots in which each rack fits, but they all seem to have the same problem. On the phone to Customer Service we go... And again we are transferred all over the organization until finally we land upon a person that might be able to help me. IF we are willing to pay $280 for a service contract upon which they will send a tech out to make repairs up to $500. If I dont want to go that route, I could always sign up for a Home Warranty ($55/month for 1yr contract or $35/month for 1yr contract for appliances) OR a Service Smart Agreement - again for repairs UP TO $500. After that, I pay for it... Oh yeah, I had to pay either a $90 or $60 service call each time a tech came out.At this point, my life is getting shorter and shorter and I decide I cant spent any more time being dragged around by the nose by Sears any longer and wave the white flag - until one day, I leaned down (to the floor, because this is where the bottom oven is) to lift a roast out of the oven and the racks suddenly collapse spraying bubbling, scalding juice all over the front of my arms, chest and legs. The oven walls seem to be expanding every time we turn this thing ON! Im now down to ONE rack in the bottom oven, a non-functional top oven (unless you like your cookies and biscuits raw on the top and charred on the bottom) and an intermittently working sensor - that, by the way, I rely on to use the top burners. If I could give this stove - and Sears Customer Service (Im looking at you, Cheryl) negative stars, I would.I tried today to give it one more go at getting this thing serviced by Sears since the aluminum foil that Ive had to wrap around the sides of the racks in the oven (so that they will take up some space and not collapse on me under the weight of a casserole dish) is going to need to be beefed up soon, but it was once again fruitless. I spent HOURS on the phone going through the merry-go-round of transfers from one department to another and in the end, spoke with NINE different people in different departments until I ended with the above esteemed Cheryl in Customer Solutions who listened patiently to my story (which, by this time I had been a little sick and tired of reiterating) and went on to tell me that since I hadnt purchased an extended warranty through them that I was out of luck.Really? Even though my first call to complain about this happened within months of owning it - when it was under the one year warranty? Again, she called to my attention that I never even had a service person out to my house. Yeah, no kidding Cheryl, because they had ME to do the work for them - which I did, by spending hours over the phone pressing this button, relaying the info to the tech on the phone, pressing that button, relaying the info. etc, etc. Sears did a really good job of stringing me along long enough that I was out of warranty and they could wash their hands of the whole thing.For generations, my family has been die-hard Sears appliance customers and have always had excellent products and service. That is a thing of the past. Get you in, sell you the appliance, and get you to spend even MORE money on a warranty. God knows one shouldnt expect a $2000 stove to last longer than a year... Ill be buying my appliances locally from here on out.
