Kenmore Washer Troubleshooting
If you're looking for help fixing your Kenmore Washer, look no further! Our comprehensive Kenmore Washer Troubleshooting guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.
Bad lid switch
If your washing machine does not stop every time you open the lid, your lid switch is bad. You may have to replace the lid switch.
Clogged waste hose
If your washing machine does not drain the waste water, the waste hose might be clogged. If the waste hose is only clogged, repair is as easy as removing and unclogging the waste hose.
Bad drain pump
If the waste hose has no clogs, the problem may be a bad drain pump. The drain pump could have a clog in it, too. Since the drain pump has a translucent cover, the clog should be visible.
If removing the clog in the drain pump has no effect, there may be a problem with it.
Bad pump motor
If waste hose installation guide and the drain pump installation guide did not solve the problem, it may be the motor. Since the motor provides the drain pump with the power to drain, the motor will have to be replaced.
Broken drive belt
If your drive belt is broken, the motor cannot turn the tub.
Bad tub motor
If your motor is not working, you will have to replace it. Make sure the washing machine is unplugged from the electrical outlet.

Kenmore Washer difficulty
Had my Kenmore Elite washer for 10 years now and it is still going strong. Have always enjoyed Kenmore appliances for reliability and endurance. Would definitely purchase Kenmore again. It has many features to meet all your washing needs. Clothes come out clean every time.
I have a Kenmore Washer and it is very durable. It cleans my clothes very well. I do at least once a week or sometimes more about 7 or 8 loads of laundry not including we have 5 people in the house so the other two adults use it also. I have had no problem with any kinds of stains on my clothes from the washer. The washer is very easy to use and has codes when it is having an issue. No problems with it yet. I have owned it for a year now. If I ever have to buy another washer Kenmore will be the brand that I will buy.
My Kenmore washer broke down in 1/2017. I paid a Sears technician $99 to come and tell me that a $600 washer required a $1400 repair. I discarded that washer and purchased a new Kenmore washer in 2/2017 for ~$600. In a little over two years, the new washer began to leak water with every wash to the point of flooding the house and making the washer not useful. The washer is getting used by 2 people who use it for usual clothes/sheets washes for a family of two. After another repair person visit, I was told that the tub is torn and will cost $1400 to replace. So my options are to (a) buy a new washer for $600 every two years, (b) buy a new washer for $600 and then buy a so-called appliance protection plan for $600/year to get a protection plan which pays $500 towards the repair or replacement AND pay the $99 technician fee on each repair. So my question is, as a consumer spending $600 on an appliance, am I expected to pay another $600/yr for repairs to this appliance after two years of life or spend $600 every two years because thats the lifespan of a Sears washer?
Even clothes that had stains or very dirty came out clean. No need for second wash. Didnt even have to use the option of extra rinse or heavy dirty. Never had to level it like my top load washer. Never had any issues with it and its energy efficient and keeps my electric bill from skyrocketing. Its quiet you cannot even tell its running. Its compact enough but big enough to fit a big blanket or comforter usually had to take them to the laundromat. It wipes clean easily as well. It was more than I wanted to pay but in the long run its cheaper because it cost my electric lower and my water to run lower. I would recommend it to people.
Kenmore Washer is very quiet and cleans the items. They smell fresh and have very few wrinkles. Also, it doesnt go off balance and very energy efficient. The reliability of this appliance is great, and it satisfy all the items that need to be done. The appliance is also up to date and modern. It will go with all decors. It has a sense of cleanliness with the appearance. This will brighten up the washroom. In addition, this appliance is rich in value. The appearance gives it an expensive look. The performance is exceptional and the cleanliness far surpasses the value.
It worked really good, got all our baby clothes clean. Only thing I didnt like is it ate up her socks. It did a really good job of getting stains out and runs very quiet. It was not as energy efficient as I wouldve liked but a great washer. It was very reliable I could wash big loads at a time with no problem. It did eat my daughters socks and one time caused it to malfunction but we had someone fix it. I like that it looks like a heavy duty washer at the laundromat. It looked very nice and well put together. It also had a lot of different wash cycles to choose from on panel.
It washes and dries my cloth pretty well. It is very reliable in the sense that it lasts longer than some brands. The appearance of this product looks good but needs to be improved. The quality of this product is great and its a good value for your money.
I bought a Sears Kenmore Washer and purchased an extended warranty. This machine has flooded my basement on at least six occasions, three times causing extensive damage. They have replaced the seal three times and the motor twice. They have forgotten to replace the front cover, leaving wires exposed. I have called, and spoken to dozens of people on what must be every department. The only thing in common, is that they refuse to take responsibility for this defective machine.
We were familiar with Kenmore and stuck with what we knew. It is a quality brand and it was on sale at the time. It has very much smart and exceeded our expectations. We like that it is push buttons and not a huge dial. There are many different cycle types which makes it very simple to do different loads. When the clothes come out they are not as wet due to a good spin cycle. We also like the glass top so we can see the clothes get washed.
I really like both of the machines. I feel like they do a good job washing and drying. Never had to reload clothes because they were not done properly. Also never experienced any breakage with clothes.
I had a white Kenmore washer. I had no problem with actual cleaning and it had all the bells and whistles I needed. However I didnt get my moneys worth. It needed repairs as the water pump started leaking. There are only 2 people in household, not used everyday. It shouldnt have needed repairs after barely 5 years. Kenmore used to last forever, but have been dissatisfied with the last few appliances from them.
Kenmore 700 series washing machine top load with glass lid - DO NOT buy this washing machine! It doesnt put enough water in to wash anything. I tried to wash 5 pair of VERY dirty jeans and they still had clumps of mud on them. I washed a load of towels and the towels absorbed all the water that was dispensed, and the Tide Pod was not completely dissolved! Even using deep fill it will dispense only 3 of water into the tub. I can get it to fill 3 times dispensing 3 of water each time if I stand there and hit the deep fill button, open and close the lid and who has time for that. I am having Sears come and replace this piece of junk Friday!
We purchased our front loading washer in 2011, and it has not needed any repair and/or maintenance since then, nor does it now! It handles all of our clothes, bedding and other things. We wish all of our appliances were as reliable as this washer.
Today took the cake. Im washing t-shirts and decided to throw in my bedroom slippers. Well, now I will be throwing them away!!! I cant believe what they turned out like. They were pink and now they are half black. Yes, black!!! Who designed this piece of crap!!! Not happy at all and yes I did take pictures! The only reason I decided to wash them was because I figured I would freshen them up before winter. My washer will be one year old in November of this year 2015!!!
This is my second Kenmore washer. The first one I had for 18 years and gave it away, still running well. This new washer I have had now for 7 years, with 2 moves and a family of 6, it’s still running almost like new.
We bought the machine about 5 years ago. After the first year, it started giving me error. Went on internet and it said it was door switch problem. Ordered one and put it in, no difference. The next advice was to replace a board. I reset the wires and it worked fine for months. Then started again. So have to reset the wires regularly now. Then it started dumping water on the floor about every 4-5 loads. Am looking for a solution. Im 77 and its hard for me to do repairs now.
My washing machine has been completely reliable and faithful servant for many years. It has performed flawlessly and done its job as intended without fail. I would highly recommend this product. Thats about all I have to say.
I was impressed with how clean my clothes were with my new washer. My old one, sometimes the detergent wouldnt release so my clothes would still be dirty when I took them out. It can fit pretty large loads even a lot of towels. I also wash my comforter in there when Im too lazy to go to the cleaners. And Im usually pretty happy with how it comes out. When I bought it I was satisfied with the appearance but then shortly after they made more washers with a side opening door and I started to realize that that would make things a lot easier and thats what I will get for my next one.
Kenmore Elite Oasis washer - I bought ours in 07 and started having trouble 6 months after we bought it! It wouldnt start when you pushed the button! We had to keep turning it off and on to get it to finally start! My husband is a Mr. Fix It so he figured out it was the computer board! He made sure all the wires were attached and such! I called Sears to complain and of course, they said I could get a repairman out! I told them it was 6 months old! My husband ordered a new board and put it in then it worked! Then a few months later, it started leaking water on the floor! Thank goodness its in the basement with a drain by it! So I kept using it! So yesterday, I heard a horrible racket coming from the basement, so I ran down and it was spinning with this terrible noise coming from it. So Ive been looking on the net for answers. They did recall them but not until 2010! So mine is too old! Hopefully, my husband can fix it again! Im so disappointed in this washer! You would think for as much money you spend, it wouldnt have this many problems! Our 1st washer lasted 20 years. It was a Maytag. Im not sure if that brand is better or they just dont make them like they used to. I would never recommend this washer to anyone!
Weve had Kenmore washer. For the 21 yrs never had any problems with it. Id recommend it to anyone. Its been rough hard working/ washer better than any Ive had. I think Kenmore is the best.
It is pretty good. Gets the clothes clean. The washer works pretty quietly and efficiently - it is reliable. It is ready when I need it. It starts easily and is easy to use. It does not require a lot of work or maintenance. So it is easy to throw in load of laundry and go do something else. The washer is ok looking - it is classic looking - white and clean looking - simple not complicated. It does not take a lot of spaces - fits in corner nicely. It is a good value - if I had to take laundry out it would take so much of my precious time - it is so much easier to be able to do laundry at home.
My washer tears small holes in my clothes. They dont appear to get caught or wrapped on anything so I dont know why it is happening. It doesnt happen all the time and I have only been able to find one other complaint on the internet like mine.
It washes the clothes nicely without taking much time and without making much noise as was the case with my previous washer. The delicate wash keeps my clothes safe and there is also a separate dispenser for the fabric softener and bleach. Since it has been purchased recently, cant tell much about the reliability but havent had any problems till now and expect that will not have any issues in future too. Would have loved if there was an option of black or silver grey. I have the basic white which is not very attractive and also doesnt match with the other appliances in the house. Have compared with most of the other brands for which I have other appliances. This one has a better value for money than most of the other brands.
I purchase this washer about 3-4 years ago and the problem of rust is getting worst. The rust started after 1 year on the lid then it accelerated to inside and now the rust stays on most of the clothes I wash. When we look inside with a flashlight, we see that inside is all rusted and peeling off. I have a baby coming. When I tried to wash the babys clothes the rust stays on the clothes and its hard to take out. I had to rewash them by hand. Im really frustrated since we follow the manual very well to take care of this machine. I cant believe this will happen to a 3-4 years old washer since my mom is currently using a Maytag for over 10 years and it still works fine without rust. I hope to have it repair by Sears as soon as possible.
The washer seems to handle large loads with ease and gets the toughest dirt out. Its very user-friendly and easy to use. I would recommend this one to anybody. Usually this could fit all my daily items. My family and I go through many clothes weekly so we had to gave a large capacity washer. This one fits the bill perfectly. It is modern-looking and modular. It gets within my laundry room decor without looking too blocky or white even though that is exactly what it is. The value here is super great. It is a good washer that Ive used for many years. If you amortize the cost over a period of useful years you will get out of it, you will get a daily cost of only a few pennies. Who couldnt afford that?
Its a good washer and has last many years. It has never broke down and never given me any problems. It does a good job cleaning so I like it very much. It has fit all of my problem since I have had this washer. It is strong and really does a good job cleaning my and my familys clothes so it has been good to me and has done its job good. The look of this washer is very nice. It sets up well and does not move. I like the way it looks and it fits all of the things around the house. It cost a little more than I thought it would but it has paid for itself many time over so I really can not complain about the price of this washer.
Belt broke after years of use. Cheap part. Easy to use. Smells if not cleaned right. Good performance overall. Extremely heavy. Took 3 men and a dolly to move. I can wash a full size blanket easily in this washer. Several soaps to pick from. Must be HE compatible. Has a timer. Comes in handy. Had this a few years and the only issues were the belt broke and its heavy to move. Has a compact storage shelf on the bottom. Mine is white and silver. Easy to clean surface. Quiet. Was a rent to own purchase for our family. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.
It worked really well, and I liked it a lot. They washed and dried clothes, and helped me get my laundry done. I couldnt ask for more from a machine that is specially designed to do such, I would totally recommend this to someone. Its big, square and white, with big dials and doors that you can open and close. They wash clothes, and dry them for you, so you dont to dry them outside on a line. Its a very good value and you should totally go buy a set of these.
I really enjoy my Kenmore appliances. I never have to rewash my clothes and I can count on them to do the job. They have multiple setting that work with my everyday life and I use them all the time.
The washer quit draining and shows F51 and F34 codes. Following the trouble shooting info the company tried to hide from the customers inside, the washer showed the machine control board needed to be replaced. A quick internet search showed hundreds of complaints about the same thing. A recall was set up for some washers, but many others with the same problem are not included in it. If someone pays for a top end product, they should not receive a poorly designed/built pile of junk. This washer should be sold for $100 at Wal-Mart, and even then it might not be a good deal.
The performance of this machine is good. I never have any problems with it. I am satisfied with the performance and what it has done. I can always count on this Kenmore machine to get the job done. Whenever I put clothes in the machine, they always come out clean and gets all the dirt and grime out. The appearance does not mean much to me at all. I could really care less about how it looks from the exterior. I got a good deal when I first bought this machine. For the amount of money that I paid for, the Kenmore machine did not let me down and met my expectations.
I bought a Kenmore Elite Washer from Sears about 5 years ago. I have had it repaired twice and it never cleans my clothes. It has more error messages than anything I have ever seen. It locks, puts error F11 and you cannot get your clothes out of the washer, cannot open the door does not matter if you unplug it or not. Then another error, then another. It is impossible to do laundry. I HATE THIS WASHER. I WOULD NOT BUY A THING FROM SEARS. They lie and tell you they will stand by a product but they do not. They want another 600.00 to walk in the door to fix the washer. I might as well buy a new one. ONE THAT WORKS.
Two weeks after I received the washer, it stopped adding water. The repair man came out and put a new part on it and it worked for another week. Then it stopped draining water. The repair man came out again and said he had to order parts, as these were not kept in stock. When he finally finished with the repairs, he said that I had a new machine again, as he replaced everything including the motor. He told me that it would have been cheaper if the Company would have just replaced it.
It handles large loads really well. I can put a ton of clothes in it without worry. Ive never had an unbalanced load. I like that I can wash many heavy or big blankets in one wash. It super quiet. If I forget to put something in I can throw it in after its already started without worry. The temperature setting are reliable. Its also durable and quiet, no vibration or rattling problems. I get compliments on its appearance all the time. I love the see through top. You can actually see your clothes being washed. Its really easy to keep clean and the settings and handles are easy to read. Its expensive but worth every penny. The warranty is a great stress reliever... even though Ive never had to use it. Ive had it for 2 years and it looks and works just like I bought yesterday. Its worth the money.
Ive had my Kenmore for more than 15 years and it still works great! Ive never had any issues with it and I would have highly recommend this washer to my friends and family. I can always count on my Kenmore washer to work for me. It has never let me down. My Kenmore washer has a nice and basic appearance. Its value is top notch!
After only 2 years it... DIED! Bearing crapped out. Repairman stated all companies make appliances that die in 2-3 years or COST TOO MUCH to repair. There goes an $800 washer. I suggest paying double for a Speed Queen or Bosch or just buy the extended warranty and make the company pay for a new one when it fails!
I purchased a Kenmore 600 topload washer in 12/09. I was satisfied with its performance, but it only lasted 2 years. The springs became weak, and when the spin cycle ended, it banged, and cracked the outer tub. Repairs will cost almost as much as buying a new one. I spent considerable time researching consumer reviews and wanting an American-made product, and spent considerable money thinking the investment would last several years. It is sad that even American-made products are built to last until just after the warranty expires. The repairman didnt think these parts are even covered in the warranty. I cant afford another washer, and when I do, it wont be a Kenmore.
Fast and efficient. Very pleased. Great features and easy to use. Faster than the previous washer. Somewhat noisy, but does the job. Can handle loads of clothing. Is reliable and dont have to worry about if clothes will be washed or not especially for big loads of clothing. Had it for a long time and doesnt disappoint. Looks clean and simple. Does not take up too much space. Ergonomic design which makes it environment-friendly. Good appearance, worth the money. The money is worth the value. Durable. Clothes come out clean and warm. No issues with the machine since bought.
I bought a new Kenmore washer 7/2011. It will not rinse in the normal and heavy duty cycles but rinses normally in the casual cycle. The repairman was prompt and knowledgeable – no complaints there but he told me that was what the washing machine was programmed to do. So, I am only able to wash laundry on the casual cycle in this new machine. Someone, please explain that to me! I will never buy another one from Sears!
The washer works really well. The clothes get very clean and Ive never had any issues with it. I think this washer will last for years and years without issue. This washer is very reliable. I have had it for over 5 years and have never had any issue with it at all. This is a very clean, white, plain looking washer. It will easy fit in with any decor a consumer may have. The buttons are easy to use, and would be good even for people with arthritis. I have gotten more than my moneys worth out of this washer and its still going strong. It is certainly worth the manufacturers asking price.
It may be a little difficult to understand what each button does when you first get it, but its really easy to learn and it is very good at what it does. Were in a family of six and it can still hold all of our lights, darks, jeans, etc. Unless your family is massive, there will definitely be enough space for your clothes. Appearance-wise its a little bland. Personally one with a more chrome-like appearance would look nicer. It was definitely a good price for how good of a washing machine it is. Im not going to say it cant be a little cheaper, but it doesnt bother me quite as much with how well it does overall.
Gets the job done and gets everything clean to my satisfaction, but I have kind of a generic model where it doesnt do much more than that. It looks like a regular washing machine. There are way better Kenmores out there but I will say the reliability is stellar. I have had for 6 years and have not had any breakdowns (knock on wood) so far. No complaints in that department. I think it was worth buying but I do not think it is worth much more than that.
This washer throws the drive belt at least once per month! When it does it has to be laid over and all the water ends up on the floor and a huge mess not to mention having to put the belt back on! Never buy a series 500 or any other Kenmore with this type belt drive! Kenmore was no help, they got their money.
This washer was in a 4-year-old house we recently bought. It is a top loader and looks to have been new when the house was built. The washers latest shenanigan was to flash the sensing light after it had filled. Information on the internet said to press the pause/start button. So, I did and the machine drained the full tub of water! In addition, I cannot be sure that it has rinsed the clothes, because sometimes it just spins very slowly while squirting a small amount of water on the clothes. Sometimes, the tub fills and actually rinses. This stupid thing takes an hour to wash a load of clothes! What in heavens name is that? It surely isnt saving me any time or energy. Were going to look for something else tomorrow.
Kenmore washer would not turn on. I waited 4 days for a service tech. He ordered a part that took approximately 3 weeks to get. Another service tech showed up 4 days after the part was delivered to my house. He installed the part, we did a load of laundry and the washer flooded two rooms of my basement. I called Kenmore to tell them the issue and they told me they can send out somebody 6 days from now. They also connected me with a claims department that said they cant look at my house for 2 days. Now, I have no washer and my wife and I will spend 3 days cleaning our basement. These were all warranty work. I was offered a 1-year service agreement for my inconvenience.
High capacity size, top of the line, been in business for years, and reputable brand. Water and electric efficient. Thoroughly cleans laundry. Dries with smart reading to save energy and doesnt over dry, keeping clothes looking fresh. Easy to use and adjustable control settings for all sizes and types of laundry needs such as cold, warm, hot and combinations of water temperature for wash and rinse cycle. The price of brand is not inexpensive, but the quality and long lasting durability is worth the price. This brand also comes with a lifetime warranty. Delivery and set up of products is offered when purchased as well.
I bought this washer in 2005 at a Sears outlet store. Now keep in mind I live alone so I dont do a lot of laundry, much below the average family, yet here I am 10 years later and somehow this thing is now not cycling through a wash load. Way to go Kenmore -- 10 years, thats it. Now I got to pay for a repair or buy ANOTHER one. Before I had this wash I had an old Kenmore washer that was 25 YEARS OLD and not one issue. I can tell you this, never again will I buy your crap. This is disgraceful and you can bet I will also pass my displeasure with Kenmore on social media every chance I get.
I used the washer for many years. It functioned well and I typically washed about three loads a day. It was easy to use and my favorite part is that it held heavy duty large loads well and had no problems.
Everything about this experience was the best. Our washing machine went out. We decided to go buy a whole new set at home depot. The staff found what we needed and wanted in less than 10 minutes. He was very knowledgeable and polite. He even got it delivered the next day... And moved old set to the curb. :) This set has lasted for at least five and a half years. I have had no problems. I keep the warranty updated after my last incident... But also because I love this set the best. It fits my family very well. The kids are even starting to learn. This had everything I needed for my needs and laundry room. Every setting had been used many times over. Never have had a garment ruined. Everything is still very easy to understand... Especially with the ever so handy instructions... Lol. The value was simply stellar. I questioned the excitement at first... But the more I researched, I found that I was getting a great deal. Nothing has gone wrong in the five years that we purchased the set.
After 27 years I needed to buy a new washer and there were only ones without agitators so that is what we bought. Worst decision ever. There is no soak cycle; clothes often end up under one item like a parachute without getting clean or rinsed and causing another wash cycle. Absolutely dislike this washer.
The washer does the job well and gets clothes clean but I wish that I had a larger washer. I have a large family and the load size is fairly large most of the time, so I very frequently have to do multiple loads of laundry to get all of it done. But other than the size of the washer capacity, I am very pleased with it. It is just the ordinary plain, white washer. Nothing in particular that is fancy or special about it. It also is in a laundry room, so it isnt out in the open where it is always seen by others. But for the job it does, it was a great bargain and has been well worth the money that was spent for it. It was a very reasonable price because I chose just a basic model.
Performance is excellent but it takes so long to get any kind of wash done and I dont always have the time to wait. Please come with better technology or shorter cycles. This is a great unit and I would tell anyone it is worth the money in terms of performance but that my only drawback is when it takes forever to get anything done. I think you really need to find someone who has this, do a load for yourself and see what you think about it. Great unit but time waster. Definitely cleans clothes better than most but I come back to the time factor and I think others might look at it also so we need to think about this.
It does a good job at cleaning my clothes as well as helping take the smell out. I use this washer all the time, and Id buy it again. I would highly recommend to anyone. It has a very large interior, and I can fit all of my clothes inside it. It is utterly amazing! I never have to do more than 2 loads of all of my clothes, ever. It is a very sleek design. I like the front load because you can watch the clothes spin. It fits nicely, and the white color fits in with its surroundings very well. It is worth every penny. It is not the cheapest option, but the space inside saves you big bucks in the long run because you do less loads.
Never had a problem and cleans great. Mechanical it is a very well built machine. My clothes cleaner now than when I had a different machine. This machine is so well built. It may be the last one I ever own. We have never even had the slightest glitch. We wash almost everyday. The machine has easy to see and use buttons answer settings. The panel puts everything right at your fingertips. All in all its a real clean look. It has saved us money in both cost of water used, amount of detergent used and electric costs. For my money its a great buy. I would recommend it to anyone.
I brought a Kenmore washer in March of 2010. By the summer of 2010, the machine dial needed to be replaced. My washer was still under warranty, so the part and labor was covered. It has not been two years, and the dial broke again. My washer is no longer under any warranty, due to being on disability, and I am unable to afford the extended warranty. I feel the washer should have lasted longer than a year and a half. I also feel Sears should fix this washer for free. I have to try to make the washer work, by turning the dial from the bottom, and hope that the machine will land on the wash cycle.
I bought the Sears Kenmore Elite top-loading, high-efficiency washing machine (manufactured by LG) in May 2011 for close to $1,000. At first, it was fine. A few weeks ago (January 2013), it started overflowing every time it fills. I watched the numbers on the control board go wonky instead of counting down the minutes sequentially. It overflows on the wash cycle, wont drain unless I stop the cycle, and manually select drain/spin, then it drains perfectly. I recognize a wacky computer when I see one, so I unplugged it thinking it might reset itself. Problem keeps happening. I researched it on the internet and saw that there is defective casing material used in the manufacture and the motherboard gets wet!I called Sears expecting the company I knew from all these years to be there. But all I get is cryptic, non-answers to direct questions and pressure to purchase a service agreement. Ive been unemployed for a few months and I dont have $230 to put into a $1,000 machine that I just bought! Oh, and by the way, if the repair costs more than $500, your service agreement doesnt cover the additional cost. You get to take care of that out of your own pocket. I wanted Sears to come fix the problem caused by faulty manufacture or at least give me a straight answer about what the likely cause of the problem is and how much it would take to fix it. It doesnt matter who it is, whoever youre talking to doesnt have the information you need. You get transferred or disconnected. Whoever youre transferred to doesnt have the information you need either and cant imagine why the first person transferred you to them. I dont believe a corporation would permit such incompetence if it didnt pay off.So I did some more research and found out on Consumer Reports that my unit was covered by a recall. I called Sears back and asked them, Why are you trying to sell me a service agreement for a unit that is covered by a recall? explaining again how the machine was flooding my laundry room. They said, Oh, thats totally unacceptable, says the agent. Let me transfer you to the Product Resolution department. The Product Resolution guy puts me on hold to look into it for several minutes. (If I ever hear a Sears customer service person say theyre going to look into it again, Ill start getting suspicious!) The Product Resolution guy says Yes, you are under recall. Well set up a recall appointment for the same time you had the service call, and well cancel your service agreement and refund your money within 4 days. (This is less than an hour after I had caved on the service agreement upsell.)Mind you, this appointment is 10 days in the future, the best they can do. Their technicians are very busy and they wont tell you what time of day, or give you a number to contact the technician, or any information that would empower you to have control of your day. Sometime between 8am and 5pm, so in the interim, I got a job and they would like me to start the day before this appointment. Now, I have to delay my start date so that I wont have to deal with personal business the first week of my new job. Already Sears has cost me $375 in lost wages. So, today is the day. The technician gets here to fix my washing machine under recall. It turns out that the recall is a software update that the technician says will not address the overflowing problem. I got Sears on the phone while the technician is still here, more runaround, more transferring, more looking into it, an offer of $65 off a repair call for which they wont estimate a total cost. (And I dont believe this is not the first time theyve had this conversation; a helpful person would say something like, at worst its this, at best its that.) Finally, I talked to a supervisor, went through the whole story again, and I asked her what she would advise if I were her mother. She told me this isnt personal with me. Sears cant provide you any more services because the machine is no longer under warranty. I replied with Sears can, but it wont. Sears knows theres an issue with this machine, and its happy to have its brand associated with it when youre charging $1,000 but you dont want to stand behind it when theres a problem. A new washing machine doesnt act like this and I can see other people on the internet have had the same problem. I believe their new business model is to hold customers hostage to an outrageous initial investment on products with known defects and then gouge them for repairs. If it already costs a lot, why not pay a little more? The whole customer service process is set up to make it so painful that you just cave in. Its immoral, and if it isnt illegal, it ought to be. If theres a class action suit, I want to be part of it.
Does a good job every time and would recommend it to anyone wanting a great machine that will last you a very long time. My next purchase will be the same. It is just right for the two of us. Very easy to load up and easy to unload. Has just the right amount of space and a nice holder for the silverware. It is a nice machine that adds to the decor of my kitchen, I have got several compliments on the design of the washer and the white color. I got a great deal on this item as I always price match with all other competitors so I get the absolute best price for the machine I purchased.
I purchased this washer based on Consumer Reports and other recommendations. I have had nothing but problems with this washer. Been a little over a year since new and had Sears techs out 3 times. Water leaks out of the overflow valve on the back and floods the floor. Tech says to use low suds detergent which I do. We cannot wash more than 4 towels at a time. Must use a minimal amount of detergent. Can hardly use any detergent when washing sheets and blankets as it goes out the overflow valve onto the floor. Sears tech says its the way the machine is made. Im ready to dump this washer and get something else which is a shame as I have all Kenmore appliances and have always bought Kenmore for the past 40 years. Sears needs to do something about the design of this washer.
Kenmore Washer 80 Series - Horrible, horrible washing machine. Tears up all my clothes. Everything gets caught in the bottom of the agitator. I have holes in my clothes, holes in my towels, and holes in my sheets. I basically cant agitate anything and instead just soak the stains out and spin it dry. There should have been a recall on this machine. I have lost a lot of money in clothing and linen items that this machine has ruined.
Purchased a Kenmore washer from Sears for $399.99 1 year+4 months ago. Service tech. says transmission has gone out. To repair, Sears wants $502.56 + service call of $79; $581.56 to repair a washer they sell new for $399. There are only two of us in this household (me 70 and my wife 68). We dont do a lot of laundry. This machine is a piece of junk. DO NOT buy Kenmore!
We have a 2-year old Kenmore Series 700 Washer. On December 12th the hose on the rear of the machine failed due to corrosion. Our home was flooded. The hose was replaced and failed again in 3 weeks due to corrosion or some chemical reaction. We had our house re-grounded by an electrical company. Two weeks later the same result. We need technical help so that we do not have another $100,000 insurance claim.
This washer is large and handles my kids messy clothes easily. It is quiet and uses much less water than my previous washer. It can handle bulky loads with ease. We have had this washer for 5 years and have never had any issues to the need to call for a service repair. Best part is, if you follow the directions, dirty clothes come out clean! It isnt the most modern look, and it has a lot of different buttons, but it is a practical looking washer. The dial might be a bit antiquated looking, but it is easy to use. This washer is a little more expensive than others, but it is eco-friendly and cuts down on water use, which in drought-stricken areas makes it totally worth it. Plus, it is competitively priced with other front loaders.
It uses less water. Has a quiet usage. Its not load. Had never knocked. My clothes get clean with less water and less soap. Its not broken down with excessive usages. Ive only used Kenmore appliances. They rarely break down with excessive usage. Every time Ive needed a Kenmore appliance its always been in good working condition. They are always stylish appliances. Modern and up to date looking. Keeps my laundry room looking modern and up to date. I like the buttons much more than I like knobs. You get what you pay for. Reliability and durability. These machines last for years. Washing machines are major appliances and sometimes its not affordable to just go out and buy one.
They both worked really well and could handle all the items that I would need to clean like curtains, rugs and quilts. They both performed as expected when I had them. There are many times that I would need to wash my rugs but if they had rubber backs I could wash but not dry and if the rubber was coming off then I could not wash them at all. I like to change out my bed often and would also change out the quilts that were on my bed at that time also. My boys were hard on clothes and would seem to find all the dirt that was out there and the washer did a great job keeping those clothes clean.
I purchased the Kenmore Washer 100 series 4 month ago and I simply hate it. It has a supposed sensor for the water level and this is useless. It works for a very small load but even when the washer is only half full it does not add enough water. Yesterday I washed a bed spread that filled the washer about 3/4 and only the bottom of the spread was covered in water. I had to add 3 buckets of water to submerge the spread. Then when it rinses the lid locks therefore no chance to add water. Why should I be adding water anyway? In the past I have always bought Kenmore appliances. I will no longer.
These are quality built machine that last for years and clean very well. Even the simplest of the machines do a very good job of getting your clothes clean. These machines are very reliable and in the rare occasion that something does break, the parts are easy to find. They have been around for years and are very reliable. Its good for the simplest loads up to the dirtiest ones. Machines are quiet and work very well. Durable. I would recommend.
Bought a top load washer from Sears almost twenty years ago. In that time I have replaced the dogs, brake and installed a rebuild transmission myself. All for under $150. It is still going strong today. Parts and repair videos were easy to find online. They dont make them like that anymore.
This washer had a strong agitation cycle and I never needed a repair. Easy to use knobs. Never had to explain how to turn it on. My clothes always came out smelling good and looking fresh. I could wash a decent sized load of dirty clothes in this washer. I never needed a repair and the agitation was strong and reliable. The water flowed freely and the knobs were easy to understand. This washer was a simple washer in looks. Even though I could have gone for something more spacey and futuristic in looks I was very happy with its performance and easy to understand knobs. Looks arent everything. I think in this day and age we spend too much money on things that break down over time. This washer was sturdy and reliable and I never needed a repair so I am satisfied with the amount of money I paid for it.
I bought my washer somewhere around 2009. Two years ago, we had to have it serviced and again we are having it serviced and they cannot seem to find out what is wrong with it. Two different people came out and they got it working and when we went to wash clothes, it is back to getting the F35 code and SUDS. We have been using Pods for a long time now, but it is a piece of garbage. I would rather have a regular washer with the agitator, nothing with electronics. It is so not worth it. I spent thousands on this pair. It is so sad how they do consumers. They trick us and keep us spending money.
We bought this HE Kenmore Elite top load washer several years ago. First we noticed that the thing just didnt clean the clothes well--- whites were coming out gray, etc. Then it started getting loud during the spin cycle. I dont mean noisy-- I mean LOUD. I looked on the Internet and found many complaints about this-- apparently the bearings are often defective and go bad quickly. The cost to replace is more expensive than just replacing it with a standard washer that actually cleans clothes. As I sit here typing the thing has gotten so loud that Im certain OSHA would require hearing protection to be near it. Were now beginning to notice tears in sheets and table clothes. Not only is it deafening and cleans poorly, its now actually damaging our clothes and linens! I hate the thing--- I mean HATE it. It was a total waste of money and were just trying to get enough use out of it to make buying a new washer cost-effective. A horrible, horrible piece of poop. The Kenmore brand used to be reliable-- its no wonder Sears is on the ropes and possibly failing. It deserves its fate.
Works well. Drawback is the rinse cycle doesnt always rinse well and multiple rinse cycles may be needed. Easy to use. Settings are clear. Washer has been reliable. Have used it regularly for a few years now and have had no problems at all with it. The appearance of this appliance is good. Standard white front loading washer. Glass door so you can watch it wash your delicates. I am satisfied with the value of the washer I have. It does what it is supposed to and I have not had any mechanical problems with the Kenmore washer. Worth the money for that reliability.
I like that I can set the washer to start later, like an hour or two up to 12. That way I can go grocery shopping and when I get back the washer will still be on. My complaint is that Im not supposed to cover the center (theres no stick anymore) where theres a metal button. If it gets covered, like when I wash sheets and blankets, it wont drain. Itll actually take more time by re-rinsing and not draining so my sheets and blankets come out soaking wet. They never spin dry either. Id like there to be an option to spin only. Right now I have to select rinse and spin, which uses more water. That kind of defeats the purpose of it being HE.
It has a great speed and wash cycle very quiet. It does not shake at all. It is very easy to use. I even let my mother use my washer and she loves it. My mother-in-law also comes and tries it out, and now she is going to buy her one because it is easy to open the door and load the washer. It washes the clothes really well. Great and clean easy to put the detergent in the slot. It’s got plenty of room for the clothes to spin and wash. Easy to manage, easy for people to use.
The Kenmore Washer Elite Oasis works fine till the ending number 6 rinse. Last couple of years, the problems are way too many with the machine. It cost good money. Please help me!
It cleans pass expectation, timing is good and no problems -I truly dont have any other comments to make concerning this washer, except that it works and Im glad I made a purchase for this machine, with so many other choices I could have made, glad I chose this one.
We bought this front loading washer because my wife and I had always wanted one but never had the chance to buy one. Kenmore was highly rated by Consumer Reports. We purchased it and I must say it is the worst product I have ever bought. It constantly makes a mess on the floor and I cant even rub its nose in it. It overflows when on normal cycle. It does seem to work on bulk cycle but it gets musty and is impossible to get the smell out of it. I would never recommend a Kenmore product and will NEVER buy one or go in a Sears store again. We paid a premium price for it and I cant wait for it to break down so we can justify getting another washer from another company.
This is the first time ever in my 67 years life have commented or wrote a review about any product. Kenmore 600 series, triple action, top load washing machine is the worst washing machine I have ever used. It wastes water, detergent, electricity and your time; and you will wind up taking your laundry to commercial washing places after all. It does not have an option for small load water level; Even if you are planning to wash a very small load. After my faithful washing machine broke down after 25 years, I purchased this Kenmore washing Machine. This machine takes a long time to wash clothes (basically just wet the clothes not wash). After I work around the yard every 2 or 3 days I wash my work clothes (3-4 pants and 6 or 7 shirts and socks). I wash them with heavy duty, power wash and 2 rinses. It takes 1 hour 21 minutes. After all, that noise, filling and refilling water, wasting the detergents, the garden soil on my pants knees are still there. I can smear the dirt away with my fingers. Clothes are as dirty as you put them in. Except they are all wet. My wife is so mad for after spending close to $700.00 she has to make a trip to laundromat every week to wash our clothes.
After a few weeks our Kenmore Front Loading Automatic Washer Model 796.4027#90# was making very load noise and shaking the laundry room. We tried to adjust everything we could think of. Did not help at all. Then the leaking all over the floor. I drained the hose after every wash. Sometimes it wouldnt leak and then sometimes it would leak everywhere. This is the worst machine we have ever owned. Ive always wanted a front loader, but I was very upset when I bought it. I didnt get the warranty, because Kenmore has been around for so long and a good company. They really messed up on this product. With the amount of money that you have to pay for a front-loading washer, people should not have to deal with all of the problems that this wash comes with. I will never buy a Kenmore product again.
Gets my stuff very clean. I cant say how well it works. I never got to worry about stains, they are gone. Washer has been a life saver to me and my family. It has never broke or had any issues with my washer. If I had to choose I would get them again. Thanks Kenmore for great service. I could not ask for a better washer for my family. It is sleek and great, so small it fits and powerful. Many color options are available but I choose white. I have always love the look of the washer. It s a great value. I got it due to the price was good along with the quality could not ask for better washer. If I had another choice I would still go with the brand and one I chose.
Kenmore Series 600 - I should have returned the machine after the first day of using it, but now I am stuck it with. It is the worst washing machine Ive ever owned. I feel like sending a bill to Kenmore for all the clothes this thing has ruined. It does not wash clothes. It sprinkles water on them and takes over an hour for one load to finish. No matter what setting I put it on, it does not get the clothes wet at all. My clothes now stink, my sheets are filthy, and everything is wrinkled. I am going to take this thing to the dump and go back to the laundromat.
Its pretty basic if youre just normal level for cash. It gets the job done but could do better than I say sometimes. But its good enough for what I have paid for. It could last for an estimate of 5 years but dont take it from me. It just depends on how good you take care of the washer, since thats what I own. The appearance is pretty good for what I paid for. Better than those old-looking ones back in the day so its not as bad. My mother wasnt a fan but I sure was. Probably didnt care that much since I was young. But I do have standards. I had to get it looked at a few times before but now it runs pretty good.
We have never had a single problem with our set of Kenmores. We did not buy the top of the line more of the bottom line, no bells and whistle. The settings are easy to read and turn knobs too, Im blind/low vision and markings are bold enough for me to see. Baskets are more than big enough to handle all of our washing loads. No extra settings to cluster the facial plates with settings we will never use. Bleach trough in the right place and easy to pour into, big enough to hold recommended amount, softener container in the middle easy to get to, softener lid can be a little hard to get off if you cut your fingernails too short. Product and price was right, have had for 5 years no service calls, bought a set for daughter.
Never had a problem with this model. I enjoyed using it, and it always got the job done. Very satisfied. This model lasts a long time as well. Fits a weeks worth of laundry in one load. Never been unable to do laundry except for in power outages and thats expected to happen. Very reliable to me. Not an elegant design. Not very sleek. Looks like an average machine for a typical price. Simple and easy to clean. White matches my decor. Paid typical price for it. Didnt expect any specialty features, didnt get any. Im okay with that. Does the job I expect it to. Much laundry has been done in this machine. Worth it!
I have owned my washer for three years and I have never disliked an appliance more than this machine. The washer is Energy Star but this could be the most hypocritical statement made. I just did a load of clothes and it ran through the entire cycle and there were spots on some clothes that werent even wet. I can never just use the automatic settings because the washer does not know how to add the appropriate amount of water. I constantly have to start over the cycle so the machine will add more water or lift the lid so the machine is faked out so it will add more water. And if I forget to do this and all the cycles are complete, I will run the wash or rinse cycle again. Also, the machine will not let me rinse using hot water. How does the machine know what I want to rinse and the temperature that I should be rinsing in. It is extremely frustrating to not be able to select the features, I know are best for the items I am washing. Also the Express Cycle will not let me select hot water. Clearly the operator should be able to select the water temperature no matter what the cycle is. When I need to add clothes, I lift the lid while I go collect the clothes from my childrens rooms and if I dont get back in a set number of minutes, the machine will start to drain itself. I get back before it is done draining but there is no override and therefore it takes more of my time to wait until it drains fully and then again I waste water by having to start all over. Also, sometimes I need to raise the lid again but I dont want to add any additional water. Well there is no way to keep the washer from adding water after you lift the lid. Again more water waste!!! If I could leave the lid up while the washer fills with water, I would be able to check if my clothes have faded and add more clothes if I want and this would not only save water but save me very valuable time. Speaking of time, with my previous machine, I could do a complete cycle in 30 minutes and therefore I could complete 2-3 loads of laundry in the evening. But now one load is the most I can do. Even if I do the Express Cycle, this is 35 minutes and then I have to rinse again (which is another 24 minutes) so it takes an hour and the clothes are no cleaner than before. The tray for where you add bleach never drains completely. Therefore I rarely use bleach for fear that the residual water left in the tray may bleach my next load of clothes. When I do use bleach, I wipe the tray dry to ensure the bleach residue is gone. In closing, I wish Kenmore would do a more complete test market to ensure their appliances work for the users and not cater to unjustified government regulations. I assure you I use far more water and electricity with my current Kenmore Elite washer than I used with the my previous machines.
Kenmore 600 series washer - The worst washer I have ever owned, does not get things clean, they smell, they are still dirty, it should be recalled. I will not buy Kenmore ever again. I feel that I was taken advantage of by the sales staff. Sears should be ashamed and should offer a refund on this product.
Good appliance, easy to manage and very fast. Made me like doing my laundry, especially because Im a student and I really needed a good washing machine to get away from having to use laundromat. If youre thinking about buying one, just do it, it works! Very reliable, never had a problem with this machine. Super great washer, definitely one you can count on. As a college student I could not ask for a better washing machine when I come home to do my laundry.
Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer - Mold in the washer caused by design defect. Model Number 79641572210. Sears refuses to resolve this issue.
I did a lot of research and found that Kenmore was a trusted brand. My husband is very particular about anything we buy and this was no different. It took what seems like forever to buy one but I am glad we took our time. It had a very powerful wash cycle and didnt leave spots on my glassware. It washes very quick and is careful not to harm any of my delicates or top rack only items. Although I wish I had chosen a different color. Also, it could be a little bit quieter but all in all it is almost perfect.
It gets the job done correctly and efficiently. It fits the amount of clothing I need and gets it washed in an acceptable amount of time. It fits all of the article of clothing I need, a large load usually, and washes them thoroughly. I have never had a problem with this appliance. Its a very attractive appliance. Its sleek and doesnt cause an eye sore in my home. It blends in with my home decor and doesnt take up an excessive amount of space. I purchased this washer a few years back and it works great and has lasted for what I paid. It was a very smart and economical purchase. I would buy from this brand again.
I washed large loads of laundry at least three times a week. This washers endurance was incredible. Load after load it kept up for quite a few years and never tore any clothes or ruined them. This washer is very reliable. My husband works in a warehouse so we needed a washer that could handle all his grimy clothes but gentle enough for our daughters clothes and this washer was amazing at handling all aspects. Top load white washer with easy control settings for small, medium, large and heavy, light, or gentle load. Crisp white clean design and easy to fit into any regular sized laundry room. I got mine on sale which it practically was a steal. Very affordable for the everyday working adult. It looks like it would cost way more than it does. Amazing quality for a great price.
It work really well. It washed clothes better than expected. I was really sad because I had to sell it. It was really hard having to load it and unload it. I purchased this used. My father-in-law had to fix it by putting something under the washer, so that it didnt leak. Once he did this, I didnt have any other problems. It always worked for me. The appearance of this machine was that was second hand. It had a lot of scratches and dings but worked. That is what I need it for washing my familys clothes. I got it for a remarkable price. This set lasted me probably 5 years if not more. They were still working when I had to get rid of them because I could not do laundry anymore with this type of machine.
I purchased a Kenmore Elite HE3 washer and pedestal in 2004 from Sears. I always dried off the area around the rubber seal, did an occasional bleach wash, hot water wash and sometimes added vinegar to keep the moisture down. I always left the door open after use and I used a maximum of 3 tablespoon of HE detergent. In 2007, I sent a letter to the customer service department explaining that mold had formed inside the rubber door seal and nothing seemed to help. I listed all the things I did and said that I was frustrated that I spent $1,000 and in three years, I was having problems. They responded with a long list of what to do for odor problems, all of which I was doing already. Forward 5 more years and the mold seems to be getting worse despite rubbing down the interior rubber seal with Clorox sheets and drying out the area. I am concerned that I am getting sick from the mold smell. I finally went out and bought a top load washer from a reputable manufacturer. Why should we have to pay such a steep price for a design flaw? Why dont the salespeople warn us about the common mold issue? And why is this happening without repercussions to the company? I would like financial compensation for all of this.
The front load washing machine is hard to keep clean. Lint and other debris gets trapped in the door seal and smells. Even though the door is wiped every time and the magnet is used (so the door doesn’t close fully) it still stinks. My towels always smell sour once they get wet again. I don’t think this is a Kenmore issue. I think it’s front loaders in general. My next washer will not be a front loader.
The water of my washer will not drain plus it has all kinds of error codes. I had to pay $129.00 for a repairman to take the bottom section below the door and unscrew a 3 round end off and clean out a trap that if in the book, I could have done myself. This should be included in the care of the washers to be checked once a year. This is just another way for them to take advantage of the consumer. I posted on FB to get the word out and to save everyone some hard earn money.
Just stops working in middle of cycle. Does not get my clothes clean at all. And wont rinse or spin. Worst washer Ive ever had. Dont buy it.
The performance is very outstanding. I love the time that it takes to clean. It is very acceptable and I have high remarks about it. I would recommend it to any looking for a washer. Id recommend it because it is also reliable when it comes to time being on your hands. This washer will satisfy all of your needs and thats a guarantee. I love the reliability of this product. The appearance itself made me want to purchase and use the Kenmore washer. I saw in browsing through the Internet and I decided to try it out myself. Much better than the average. The value of this washer machine is outstanding. Words cant explain the worth of this product and its usefulness. I would recommend this to anyone from my family group.
Performance very good... but sometimes make problem if load is full.
Uses less water than my old top-loader but cleans better. Front loader is convenient, easier to load and unload. I can wash my knits without worrying about damaging them. I havent had any issues with reliability. Cleans as well today as when I bought it. No leaks, no shuddering, no problems. It cleans all of my laundry -- from heavier fabrics to delicate knits -- without damage. Holds a lot in each load, so I can do comforters or towels without worrying that they wont get clean. Basic white, clean lines. Easy to read digital controls. Fits in with any laundry room or kitchen. Top, front, and sides are easy to keep clean. Washer is reasonably priced, works very well. Although it doesnt have some of the more gimmicky features, it does the wash efficiently, fairly quietly, and handles various types of laundry well.
My Kenmore washing machine is the best that I have owned, It doesnt have the center agitator, which allows more clothing to put in the tub. The quality of the wash clothing is great. To be able to put in over 5 cubic feet of material in the tub makes it so easy to wash blankets and comforters. So happy with this purchase!
I bought this washer a year ago and wish I could drop it off a cliff. It does not fill or clean well. I have to add water and run through deep fill cycles again (how does that save water)? Pant legs, sleeves, etc get tangled up in knots when spinning. Help! What have other done about this piece of garbage???
