Kenmore Range Error Codes

If you're looking for help fixing your Kenmore Range, look no further! Our comprehensive Kenmore Range error code guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

CODE: F001, F002, F004 or F005
PROBLEM: Touch panel failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and wait 30 seconds then restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and replace the touch panel.

CODE: F003
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and replace the user interface board. The user interface control board may have more than one version. Use the latest revision of the user interface control board.

CODE: F010
PROBLEM: Runaway temperature (oven temperature is over 600 degrees and increasing)
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe.

CODE: F011
PROBLEM: Stuck key on the keypad
FIX: The control detects a key has been pressed for 30 seconds or more. Make sure nothing is pushing against the keypad. Press the Stop key to clear the display. If the code won't clear, disconnect electrical power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board.

CODE: F012
PROBLEM: Touch panel and user interface control board mismatch
FIX: This code appears when you replace the touch panel or the user interface control board using the wrong part. Use your range model number to check the part number and install the correct replacement part.

CODE: F013
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, replace the user interface control board.

CODE: F015
PROBLEM: Touch panel failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If error code returns, replace the touch panel.

CODE: F017
PROBLEM: User interface board is unable to configure the touch panel
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part.

CODE: F018
PROBLEM: Relay control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power to the range and replace the relay control board.

CODE: F019
PROBLEM: User interface control board is unable to configure the relay control board
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the relay control board, you may have used the wrong part.

CODE: F022
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the relay control board
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged.

CODE: F023
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the touch panel
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the touch panel. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring harness is okay, replace the touch panel. If the problem continues, replace the user interface control board.

CODE: F025 or F027
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the relay board can't be initiated

CODE: F028 or F029
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the touch panel can't be initiated
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the touch. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part.

CODE: F030 or F031
PROBLEM: Oven temperature sensor probe failure
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms of resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe.

CODE: F033
PROBLEM: Meat probe temperature sensor shorted or too hot
FIX: The control triggers this code if the meat probe detects temperature above 392 degrees F. Make sure you fully insert the meat probe into the meat. The meat probe will detect oven cavity temperature higher than 392 degrees if you don't fully insert the meat probe tip into the meat. Also, make sure that you insert the meat probe jack into the receptacle. A partially inserted meat probe jack can short the contacts in the receptacle, causing this error code.

CODE: F050
PROBLEM: Oven relay board can't detect the status of the door lock switches
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the wire harness connections between the door lock switches and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. Check to see if the door lock switches work properly using a multimeter. Replace the door lock assembly if the switches don't work. Replace the relay control board if the wires and switches are all okay.

CODE: F090
PROBLEM: Door lock error
FIX: The relay control board doesn't detect the door lock motor operating. Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds, then restore power. Try again to lock the oven door by initiating the Oven Lockout or starting a Clean Cycle. If the door lock motor doesn't run, disconnect power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the door lock assembly and the relay control board.

CODE: F095
PROBLEM: Door lock motor doesn't stop running
FIX: If the door lock motor is constantly running, replace the relay control board because the relay on the circuit board is stuck. If the motor isn't running constantly when this code appears, replace the door lock assembly.

CODE: F096
PROBLEM: Oven door has been detected open during a self-clean cycle.
FIX: Make sure the oven door closes fully and pushes the door switch plunger in. Adjust the oven door hinges or replace the door hinges if damaged. Disconnect electrical power to the range and test the door switch for continuity with the door switch plunger pressed in. Replace the door switch if you don't measure continuity during that test.

I have loved my Kenmore Elite range model 79098023802 made by Electrolux for 6 years until this weekend. The range expands when cooking and the racks fall to the bottom causing everything to spill. I contacted Sears and was told that this happens after using the self cleaning feature which apparently damages the oven walls, the oven will now expand when using the oven making the racks fall. I would have to have the whole interior replaced for $300.00. When I asked if this would happen again after replacing the interior I was told it was possible. This is clearly a manufacturer defect and Sears/Electrolux should stand by their product regardless if it is under warranty. My husband is recently unemployed and we are unable to fix the problem which Sears/Electrolux should take responsibility for a faulty product!!

To prepare for Thanksgiving, my wife ran the cleaning cycle on our Kenmore range. The front glass cracked. She called Sears, (couldnt talk to anyone who spoke English) repairman says he has seen it before, but it is not a manufacturers defect and we have to pay. This is crap! Please someone help, we are retired and havent got this kind of money.

My 40 stainless steel Elite Kenmore range/glass top looks impressive on first notice. But the design of the rim around the top has caused it to get really scratched in a short period of time (1 year). The drawer below the ovens is very flimsy. The digital oven works great. But the smaller analog ovens thermostat can never be relied on. I love the five burners on the cooktop, two of them having the capability to be two different sizes. I am unhappy with the stainless steel finish... Very hard to clean without streaks. Ive tried everything! I needed the 40 size because I live in a 1960s house that requires 40 stove, or a lot of cabinet rehab. I thought the price was too high. But there are very few ranges available in that size.

DO NOT BUY FROM SEARS! Please help to get Sears to own up to their stoves that are fire hazards... I purchased a stove at Sears 3 years ago... has plastic handle on top of oven door and is self cleaning. I used the self clean for first time and got little brown spots on handle.. called and their response was use Mr Clean eraser... spots got worse after each self clean. On December 22 2014 I put on my self clean for 2 hours, left the house and came to find out my oven door had melted! I called Sears and they said would send out tech to look at it but I would get charged for it (no warranty). I told them that it was a serious fire issue and I was not going to pay for tech to come out and tell me Yep it burned and is no good! Warnings tell you not to put plastic near high/intense heat! They said someone would contact me about the issue... after repeated attempts, no one got back to me until end of January!I had to purchase new stove as this one was unusable ($900). Sears kept asking me for model # but I did not have as I had gotten rid of old stove and for them to review the Dec 22 call... This went on until last Friday and all they could do was offer me a $50 gift card!!! They acknowledged that they screwed up and this was the best they could do! Sears does not care about their products or customers. I am out $900 because of Sears and most of you know that I am a single income parent. Worst case is that had I used the major self clean option, my house could have burned! 3 days before Christmas and Sears did not care! PLEASE POST THIS AS PEOPLE WHO HAVE PLASTIC OVEN DOOR HANDLES NEED TO BE AWARE THAT THE STOVE CAN CATCH FIRE! PLASTIC AND HIGH HEAT DO NOT GO WELL TOGETHER.

I tried to contact customer service and was transferred 6 times, then hung up on! The Kenmore Elite Range of 5 years almost burned my home down this morning. When I called to ask for assistance to determine if the range was safe to be in my home, they wanted to charge me $25 to just talk to someone! Then, they wanted to charge me $89.99 to send some to my home! Yes, I am furious that this company just wanted to collect money and would not help. My home has smoke damage, which I now have to clean due to the malfunction. I will never purchase a Kenmore product again!

Burn hazard due to oven racks falling. Apparently this is a well-known and well-documented hazard. These ovens are manufactured by Frigidaire for Kenmore and Jenn-Air with only the cosmetics being different. Same defect in both. Jenn Air has recalled and replaced the defective products, Sears is in denial. The problem is that when the self-cleaning mode is used, the oven sidewalls expand, allowing the racks to fall, resulting in burns. So far, weve been lucky, but if a small child or pet were in the vicinity... it could be tragic. We purchased all high end Kenmore Elite when we redid our kitchen. The factory service was a joke. We filed a complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and will be sending a demand letter to Sears and Frigidaire.

We purchased Kenmore 790.80332310 in April, 2018. We upgraded all of our appliances. We had our original Kenmore appliances for 20 years. On New Years Day, 2019 I cooked on top of our Kenmore range and in the oven. While cooking the fan from the Kenmore over-range microwave automatically came on as usual. After a period, it stopped. I had not used the microwave at all that day. I completed cooking on the range top but the food in the oven continued to bake. I walked in the adjacent Family Room to watch the Rose Bowl parade. While sitting watching the parade, I began smelling a strange odor. While walking into kitchen, my husband and I heard a loud boom. I walked to the microwave, there was a flame inside the cabinet and the glass turn table was totally shattered. We moved into action to smother the fire to prevent the flame from accessing the magnetron. The next day, we called Sears Service. The technician was scheduled for a 12:00 PM to 5 PM window of time. At 6:19 PM, I received a text that technician was on the way. At 7:00 PM I called, dispatcher could not locate technician. A technician was rescheduled for Monday. The technical arrived on Monday and said that he came on Friday but could not see an address (our address is located on our mailbox). When the technician viewed the cabinet of the microwave and he stated that he had never seen anything like that. He called his senior team but stated that he was having difficulty in cell phone service. He could forward photos of the cabinet to the Senior Team. The exterior of the microwave looks brand new. The technician departed. We received an email stating that the fire was caused by customer negligence. Therefore, the warranty was cancelled and no further action would be taken. We called Service. We were told that the microwave was totally burned by us. We explained that this microwave is setting in our cabinet. It is totally burned. If you walked into our kitchen you would never know about the damage within the cabinet. Of course, my husband disconnected the microwave from electricity to prevent another fire from happening. We asked for another technician to make an assessment of the damage. We were told that we would have to pay a service charge for a technician to come out again. We consented to pay the charge for an assessment. Sears then proceeded to attempt to send the same technician again. My husband called in protest. He was told that the particular technician was the technician for this area. We are totally disappointed in this defective product and the Customer Service rendered by Sears. They have no regard for the customers who purchase their products.

My Kenmore dishwasher was very fast and it did not make a bunch of loud noises like some dishwashers that I had owned prior. This specific model dishwasher had powerful jets. I cant recall a time when I owned my first Kenmore that I ever had to run my dishes through a second cycle. They always came out looking crystal clean. The dishwasher came with my first condo I bought and for the five years I lived there I had absolutely no problems at all with it. I own a Kenmore now because of it. I was told by the previous owners of the condominiums that the dishwasher and oven were brand new and had been installed a week earlier.

This dishwasher is much better than my previous one. It uses less detergent and is more energy efficient. It is also much quieter than my last model. The interior racks also provide better loading arrangements. This model fit perfectly into my previous dishwashers slot. It seems to have more interior space and better design of the racks permitting better organization of dishes. I really like the streamlined appearance of this dishwasher. It has that fingerprint resistant stainless steel finish and is easy to keep clean. I am very satisfied with this unit. I felt that the price on this unit was a little high at first but after deciding on it and having used it I found it was totally worth it. Its efficiency and ease of use was totally worth the price.

I purchased a Kenmore range on June 15, 2012. A small amount of tomato sauce dripped into the space between the two pieces of glass on the door. I called Sears repair and they do not cover that in the warranty. It will cost me around $150 to have it fixed. I feel that this is a flaw in the design of the oven. I have cooked for 50 years and never ever had this problem. I realize there needs to be a vent to allow hot air to escape. How are they designing the ranges differently now than decades ago? I will have to look at the smeared glass for the next 10 years.

I bought a Kenmore 79032613318, slide in range for over $1300. I had shopped around but knew the kenmore brand for years and felt this would be a good choice. I bought in June of 2016 and by the end of the summer of 2017 none of the range control buttons worked. So basically all I had was a stove and no oven. I researched the possible problem and found that either the electronic controller or the cover panel itself was bad (that is where the touch screen buttons are housed). The controller cost 227 and the control panel cost 337. I took a gamble and replaced the controller. Still not working, now Sears is telling me to replace the control panel. So if I decide to do this I will have over $500 into a range that lasted less than year....Think I wont be buying any sears products in the near future and will just move on and buy new range somewhere else....Got hosed on that deal for sure.

Purchased Kenmore Stainless Steel Cooktop Stove Sept 2015, now 5 months old
Purchased Kenmore Stainless Steel Cooktop Stove Sept 2015, now 5 months old, noticed rust bubbling up on the front door and lower draw panel about two months ago. At first I thought it was just a food stain but it would never clean up. Contact Sears repair, repairman sent and I was told not covered under their one year warranty because it is a cosmetic issue. I was then told that the stove is not really all stainless steel but partial and has other alloys mixed into it which is probably why it is rusting. I said that nowhere did it say this is not a 100% stainless steel and this is a definite consumer fraud, and misrepresenting the product as stainless. He said that is the way they all are at the $500 price you paid. Pure stainless steel stove would cost $4,000-$5,000. I was mislead to believe this was a stainless steel product, I am left with a new rusting 5 month old stove that no one will do anything about. BEWARE OF YOUR NEXT RUSTING KENMORE PRODUCT!!

Last year I purchased the Kenmore 73059 fridge from Sears to replace the 6 year old Kenmore French door fridge that I purchased from Sears that died. First of all, the water dispenser leaked. The tech blamed it on low water pressure in my home, but the old (6 year old) fridge didnt leak. Now, mere weeks out of warranty, the new fridge is dead. All customer service could say was, You know its out of warranty. You should have purchased one of our home warranties. Do NOT purchase Kenmore appliances. They are unreliable pieces of junk!!! And they do NOT stand behind their products. Oh, and the microhood (over-the-range microwave) I purchased 7 years ago needed a new magnetron at 51 weeks old (at least it was covered under the warranty). Note it has a bad humidity sensor (at 7 years old).

I bought this gas stove at Sears at least 20 years ago. It still looks almost as good as new; the only damage is a chip that the men who installed a replacement floor made somehow. On opening the Kenmore convection wall oven door, the handle was loose and when I pulled on it, the entire glass door shattered, cutting my hand, ruining food on the counter, spraying glass as far as 12 from the oven. Using a whisk broom, regular broom and the vacuum, we were able to get most of the glass up and then we washed all of the kitchen rugs. If a small child or one of our pets had been next to me, some serious harm may have resulted. I have read about other customers having this problem and that replacing the door is not a safe option - it can happen again. Its a serious design flaw.I have spent at least an hour or two so far on the phone with Sears and Kenmore, last night immediately after the explosion and then again this morning. They are willing to send a repair tech to assess the problem at a cost to me of $99 because I have no extended warranty. NOT FAIR! This is their problem and they should offer ways to replace the oven with a better design or recompense me so that I can get a safe oven.

I used the self cleaning on the bottom oven. I did it according to the instructions in the manual. The walls in the bottom oven expanded so much that the racks will not stay up. It is not under warranty! This has never happened before to the other ranges we have owned and we have spent a lot more money on this range! I purchased a Kenmore Elite top load washer in 12/2011. In roughly 12-13 months, the area around the bleach dispenser started to show signs of rust/corrosion. I contacted the Sears customer solutions group and they arranged a service call, which I paid for, to assess and confirm that there truly is rust/corrosion around the dispenser! I was quoted almost $300 for the repair, however the technician stated that there was a Service Flash for this very issue which apparently warrants a notification and how to handle it. This service flash SF26-813 clearly states as a repair as having a redesigned cover and dispenser along with having the cover completely painted. This obviously was a manufacturing defect that, when I started addressing with Sears, turned into a hot potato hand-off, from one department to another, without any sign of helping resolve the issue. They even sent me to LG, the manufacturer, to try to have them do something for me, instead of them bringing the issue to LG as their vendor and expecting resolution and seeking reparations. I finally was given a case number that was essentially useless since there is no direct contact person to work with, which in effect results in multiple solutions group people passing on emails trains without any point of contact. I even asked for direct contact and provided my phone number through every email...but still no call. This is the ultimate shell game with consumers...create a customer solutions group to help you...but dont actually have this group do anything to foster customer solutions. I was however offered $65 for part of the original service call. I even asked if they even interact with their vendors... in this case LG, to force them to own up to poor engineering and design, to help rebuild credibility and demonstrate responsibility for their products. I am Sears customer not LGs, and as such Sears should have an obligation to me. They in turn need to hold LG accountable for their inferior manufacturing design. Whatever happened to taking care of the customer? Sadly...this is a bygone saying.

Kenmore Elite double wall oven is not safe. The top oven which I use frequently has oven racks that no longer fit. The interior wall has bowed due and the technician indicated that my oven is no longer safe to use. I will need to replace the wall which would cost me a little over $500 plus the $75 tech fee. Sears offered their warranty insurance and would cover up to $500 plus reimburse the $75 tech fee. But again, does this solve the problem? The self-cleaning will cause the walls to bow again and from what I see, there seems to have been flames that left burnt marks around the interior front vents. I am reporting my complaint to www.cpsc.org and to Sears as well. From this site, there are five reports, all a Kenmore model. I was told by a Sears consumer complaint officer that my model is made by LG and that I should call them because it is a manufacturing problem. Im not buying from Sears again.

I purchased the Kenmore double oven for about $1,500 on Nov. 2, 2012 and the control panel shorted out on Jan. 2, 2014, just two months over the factory warranty. The cost of repair is $450. I have no idea why the panel shorted out in the first place, so I have no idea if it is going to happen again. The design of the oven is such that the vent from the top oven is directly adjacent to the control panel. The over-the-range Kenmore microwave caught on fire where the rack attaches to the internal framing. I called Sears and was passed along to FIVE different people all saying that there is no recall on this model (80323 model # 79080323310; serial #KG 60953623). Clearly there is a problem and Sears/Kenmore is not willing to acknowledge a faulty product. I have found similar examples from other customers where the microwave caught on fire in exactly the same location - where the rack inserts into the internal framing. FAULTY PRODUCT! Washer lasted for ten years as well as the matching dryer. We just replaced because of fire in dryer and gasket and drum broke in washer which resolved in a leak. Washed and dried clothes. Dryer had to be put in twice to actually dry the clothes. Washer had a smell if I didnt wash every day, so I bought a Tide detergent that cleans front end loaders and that seemed to help. They were a beautiful color of burnt orange. They never got scratched and looked as new as when I purchased when they are taken away 10 yrs later. They were a good value lasted for 10 yrs only fixed once. They washed 15 towels easily. Dryer just didnt dry as well.

Kenmore Elite Electric range: After running the pyrolytic cleaning cycle, the inner liner of the stove has warped. Except on the lowest level the wire racks will no longer support a load. I place a pan on the middle level (usual for baking) and the rack collapses!I paid Sears (~$100) to send a technician to diagnose the patently obvious problem. Still, they wouldnt do anything (out of warranty) except perform a $1,000 (my estimate for parts & labor) repair that would simply replace the warped parts with more of the same to repeat the performance after another cleaning cycle. I’ve sent letters to the president of Sears Canada, no luck. I have plans to fix it myself. I hope Sears keeps bleeding red ink. Sears will never sell me anything else!

I purchased a Kenmore Power Miser 12 Model #153.331414HA water heater six years ago. The heater was rated as a 15 year heater. In the last six years, I have replaced the pilot light assembly three times and cleaned it countless others and for the last year I have had to manually light the pilot everyday in order to get hot water. I order a replacement pilot assembly and installed it. The replacement unit failed after two days. It was obvious to even me who is not a mechanical whiz that the thermocoupler on the pilot unit was not shielded from the open burner flames thus causing it to overheat and shut off. At the same time I purchased a gas range. The ignitors for the stove top have not worked properly since about one year after purchase. Only one burner will ignite and you have to manually light the others to cook. Also for the last two years, the oven will not heat to the proper temperature (i.e., about 200 degrees lower than the setting on the control unit). I too have experienced poor customer service from SEARS including having to pay $75 dollars for warranty repairs, customer support staff obviously located in Mumbai, India not being able to answer questions about parts or service, delays in scheduling repair times, and my wife was put on hold off and on for over four hours trying to get her questions answered and to get a repair time scheduled even though she asked repeatedly to be transferred to a supervisor. The supervisor was no greater help than the customer service representative. I have since bought a competitors brand of hot water heater because it is made in American and their customer support staff are located in the United States. I also filed a complaint with the Chicago Office of the Better Business Bureau about these appliances. SEARS has responded that their records only show one service call to them and I informed them that their records are inaccurate because there were two repair calls for the same issue. SEARS has informed the BBB that they will not reimburse me for the cost of the hot water heater or even for the cost of the replacement pilot light unit I recently purchased which failed nor have they addressed the issue with the gas range. I have asked the BBB to inquire as to how many service calls SEARS has received nationally regarding replacement of the pilot light unit on this model of hot water heater and the number or percentage of these calls which were repeat service calls to replace the pilot light unit. I also asked why I cannot be reimbursed for replacement pilot light unit I just recently purchased that failed since there should be some limited warranty of 30 or 60 days on even parts. We will see how they respond. If anyone else out there has had similar issues with either this model hot water heater or with their gas range I would like to know.

I spent two hours trying to talk with someone that would help me find out if there is a recall on my range. The outside glass of my oven shattered in the middle of the night. Luckily no one was near the range. I had glass everywhere. I did notice on this site that there was a similar case on Aug 2, 2016, so I wanted to talk with someone to investigate this problem. After spending much time trying to talk to a real person then finally talking with a person that wanted to send a technician to diagnose what my range needed and the cost to have a technician come to my home would start at $89.00, I gave up and just ordered the glass. I am very worried that this has happened more than two times and someone could seriously get hurt.

We bought the Sears Kenmore Elite double wall oven and the problem is that every time you cycle the oven through the clean cycle, the oven will not work. This has happened 3 times already where you have to pull the oven out of the wall (enclosure) and hit or replace the thermal switch to make the oven work. We have insurance through Consumers Power and they come out for the fix but there is definitely a serious design flaw with the oven. I called Sears and they said, the 1-yr. warranty is expired, and, have a nice day. We are never again purchasing from Sears.

Sears Kenmore Elite Convection Microwave Hood - Paid over $600 on sale for this item in July, 2012. Was installed about three months later. Now, as of April 2016, the microwave no longer works. For about the last three months, the microwave would work if I jiggled the door a couple of times after setting the time - however, randomly, it would turn itself off in the middle of the cooking cycle. Now, no matter what I try to do to get the oven to work, nothing! This is the last Kenmore appliance I ever buy. Remodeled the kitchen in 2012 and purchased all new Kenmore Elite appliances. After the experience with this microwave, I am done with Kenmore. I would hope that a microwave which retails for over $900 would last a little more than a few years!

We own a Kenmore Elite double oven that will no longer hold the racks in place in the bottom oven. This is a very dangerous defect that has caused multiple spills and also burns. Sears claims to be unaware of this defect event though there are many complaints about this same problem on the internet. The problem is caused by the walls of the oven bowing out due to regular use and cleaning of the oven. Sears refuses to issue a recall on the oven and has offered to provide a service call at our expense which does not even guarantee that it can be fixed properly. If this were a car, Im sure it would have to be recalled but I do not believe there are adequate consumer laws that cover appliances. Sears does not stand behind their products.

I purchased a water heater from Sears in 2002 and it began leaking in 2008. That water heater had a 9 year warranty. I had it replaced with a Power Miser 12, with a 12 year warranty. This water heater is now leaking 7 years later. When I called to arrange a replacement, I was told that this warranty is no good since I did not pay extra when it was replace in 2008. I was never told this in all my phone calls to Sears in 2008 and during the horrific process I experienced, in 2008, where I had to find the plumber myself and make all the phone calls and arrangements myself since everything Sears was supposed to be doing and they were not.Now I am told there is no warranty on this Power Miser 12 which is 9 years old. I will never get another appliance from Sears again. In my conversation with the representative he just ended it with I hope the rest of your day goes better. If you are planning on buying a water heater, I suggest you run away from Sears. They are not the company they used to be. They just dont care anymore about reputation. I will be shopping for a new water heater from Home Depot or some big box store.

I love the appearance of this dryer. It fits my decor greatly and matches my washer perfectly even though they are different models. Its very sleek and looks like a much more expensive dryer and its a mid range price dryer. I love that it looks like a high end dryer. This isnt your mothers dryer, with the old knobs and buttons. We purchased this 40 range from Sears & Roebuck brand new with other appliances. They have had problems too & are all too expensive for what you get any more with too many digital, sensitive, & failing parts. We have been purchasing Kenmore products for over 35 years before purchasing these new products. The problems started after the range was less than three years old, but out of warranty. The bake element melted & burned out & melted. The cost of the part alone was over $60.00 for the element. Then three months later the range caught on fire again & the element burned again (the oven was not even turned on), this time the control board & some wiring between the element & the control board also burned. Now in addition to the element needing replacement again, the control board & wiring needs replacement. The cost of the control board alone is nearly $500.00. That is more than the last oven even cost. This oven was over $2000.00 & burning out in less than 10 years with the cost of repairs ridiculous. Something is just not right.

The Kenmore microwave oven was installed by our contractor, new, April 2018. It immediately developed problems: blowing fuse, turning off immediately, etc. It was service five times in the first year. I think it should have been replaced, but no. Their warranty literature says it will be fixed or replaced but thats not how it works out. Most of the issues were with the design of the door latch. This I find is a common issue with microwave ovens. The servicer took over 5 months to figure it out and repair. Now the microwave oven is blowing circuit breaker again but its out of warranty so Sears refuses to cover repairs or replace. Doesnt matter to them they they manufactured a faulty product. Once out of warranty its screw you.

Kenmore Ultra Bake Oven - So apparently this is a thing with Kenmore ovens? I was not in the kitchen when I heard a pop followed by lots of crackling. No one was near the oven, thank god. The oven is 8 years old, but we really dont use it often and do not treat it roughly. There is no good reason why an oven door should explode. This seems to be a well-known problem and yet there are no consumer warnings on new ovens and no recalls that I can find. These ovens are dangerous and should not be in peoples homes. Kenmore should take responsibility for creating an inferior product instead of blaming this obvious defect on consumer use. Very disappointed.

Bought this fridge and matching stove 3yrs ago. I purchased this brand, as did much research on reviews of Kenmore. With that and feeling Sears had a quality product, I purchased them. Three years later, my fridge went totally out. I had no reason to think a Kenmore would crash in 3 years. Threw out hundreds of dollars in food. And this is where things go horribly wrong. There is no longer a warranty, it’s only a year. Sears wants $1700 to repair. I don’t have a $$ tree in my yard. So then I bought a Choice Home warranty. The rep on the phone said, No worries ma’am, this is covered. I told him it was already out. Waited my 30 days, and filed a claim. They send out the same tech as Sears. He’s in the house 3 minutes, tops. Calls me to say they won’t cover it. Pre-existing condition. I’ve now paid for 2 service calls. And no working fridge still.I turn to Kenmore and reach out for help. I gave them 2 voices, either fix my fridge for free or replace with a comparable fridge to what I have. The man chose to repair it. Five phone calls later, Yes it’s in your file, diagnostic fee waived, no charges on parts and labor. But, yesterday, the tech calls wanting to know if I still want him there. He has no paperwork that there’s no charge. Mind you, Kenmore set this up and supposedly wrote notes. I called Kenmore. Oh yes, it’s right here, no charges. He says, I’ll send this over for your tech. Hours later, he don’t have this to come fix it. I call back. Now, this guy says he has no access to those notes and wants to transfer me to another department. I still have no working fridge. I’ve contacted 2 local tv stations to look into my story, and hopefully get it fixed. Buyer beware. Buy another brand, not a Kenmore Elite. It was priced just under $3000. Not worth it.

My parents had had good experience with Kenmore products so I believed what I was told. What a mistake! I have nothing but continuing problems with the Sears Electric Range. The electronic oven control motherboard has had to be replaced three (3) times because it keeps malfunctioning. I was told by the last repairman that it was because a design defect in the range caused the motherboard to overheat & fail. I called Sears and they just blew me off. I am going to try one more time before hiring a lawyer. It is sad to see how far Sears has fallen. At one time, it was #1 in quality and customer service. Its quality has deteriorated badly. Its customer service is essentially non-existent. Its lack of customer service will cause it to lose more and more customers like me. I didnt mind paying a lot of money but it was fair to expect a quality product and prompt customer service for any problems. In the fall of 2017, we underwent a kitchen remodel and as part of that, had a Kenmore Electric Built-In Oven Model 790.4942 installed. So, it is only barely over a year old. Since the beginning we have had issues with it. The first time I used the self-clean function, about 3 months after installation, large brown spots appeared between the inner and outer glass on the front of the oven. A technician came out and said this was the result of using the self-clean function and not to use it! He said it was a problem and he didnt know why Kenmore kept using this function, with the same result!Since then, I had food consistently undercooked and purchased an oven thermometer. After following the instructions, I found that if setting the oven for 350 degrees, it only came to 325 degrees, so I followed the instructions to re-calibrate it, by upping the temperature 20 degrees. Then, things were cooking through, but scorching/burning on the bottom, so once again I used the oven thermometer and it indicated that although the oven was set for 350 degrees, it was now cooking at 375 degrees! I cant seem to get it right and Im frustrated. We paid $1,000 for this oven and it is not nearly as good or efficient as my GE 13 year old oven in the house I previously lived in!

Think twice before buying!! My husband and I paid a small fortune for a Sears Kenmore range one year ago. We thought we were buying a dependable appliance to feed our family. What we bought was a nightmare in a crate. Less than one month after buying the stove, it suddenly locked and we couldnt open it. A technician visited our home and decided due to an electrical problem, the entire thing needed to be replaced. Two weeks later, Sears finally managed to deliver our brand new stove. The replacement lasted 5 months until the motherboard completely fried resulting in another technician visiting our home. We had to wait another week and a half for the newest replacement. It has been 4 months and we discovered this morning that the stove will not turn on at all. Upon calling Sears customer service, we were told the technician will be here in a few days. Hopefully this time we will not have to wait as long to have a device with which to prepare food for our family. This appliance should have come with a money pit warning as that is the only experience we have had with this purchase. We will certainly never buy appliances from Sears again!

About 2 years ago I bought the full elite kitchen appliances. BIG MISTAKE! Few months after installation of all appliances the dishwasher didnt clean well. Called for service. The idiot that came said my dishes were too clean then the fridge was leaking water by the water dispenser and another idiot said maybe we close it too hard then the double oven trapped moisture between the glass and the third idiot said because we are by the beach and its cold outside and the oven is hot - so the worst appliances service and all. I will never ever buy anything from sears ever again.

I bought this over the range microwave from Sears a couple of years ago. I thought that 1000 watts would be plenty. However most food that you buy for the microwave directions, usually state 1100 watt ovens. The food doesnt seem to stay hot as long as food cooked on the range or in a conventional oven.

Amazing. The dishes came out very clean and no water spots. Even takes off caked on food. Very fast washing and quiet. I would recommend to anyone who needs a new one. Compact but very roomy inside. It fit well in my kitchen and my kitchen is definitely on the smaller side. I have dinner parties often and it can hold all of the dishes. The washer is beautiful. Water spots dont stick and fingerprints are easily wiped off with a wet rag. I prefer the black because it looks sleek and fits in with the kitchen. It was a great price. I am always looking for a bargain and after comparing models and prices this one was the best option and easily within my price range.

It was perfect. I would buy another one if I could afford it. It kept everything cooled or frozen exactly how it should. It was HUGE. Lots of room for any size container. The places in the door were awesome. The drawers were big and roomy as well. The freezer side wasnt hampered by the ice maker either. I loved the stainless steel. Easy to clean. Shiny. Sexy. Much better than the typical textured outside of most refrigerators. Smooth. Lovely. It was priced perfectly. Mid-range. It was a scratch and dent model too so there was an additional discount which made it much more appealing to me and much more affordable.

Our experience with all Kenmore brand appliances is so great that Kenmore has proven to be one of our choice and go-to brands. We will and have recommended Kenmore and will continue to shop this brand for future needs. Kenmore offers very competitive pricing especially for such a high quality brand. This is a good advantage to save money especially with a large family to support. Having a large family we have always needed quite a bit of room to store our groceries. Our Kenmore refrigerator is big enough to fit what we need it to. The shelves being adjustable has also held significant advantages. Our Kenmore refrigerator is white inside and out and is so easy to keep clean or to wipe away with a gentle swipe when the inevitable spills have occurred.

Please dont buy Kenmore, or from Sears. My stove caught on fire last night (11/21/14). Sears wont replace it they want me to pay for the repair....NOT, so here is what happened: We cut the oven to warm up then walked away. We heard a popping then a smell of wires burning. If we had not been in the kitchen this would be a different story. I call Sears, oh they want me to pay to have them come look at it, I dont think so! The earliest they can come to look at it is DECEMBER 2nd, Wait that is a week and a half! They told me that I cant get it replaced without me paying for it even if it is faulty wires. I AM SO MAD right now! If you have a Kenmore range in your house unplug it NOW, wishing I had never bought this thing!

This evening my elder father called to tell me that my mom set the oven to self-clean the day after Thanksgiving. She set the oven to self-clean and they went to bed. When they woke the next morning, the oven was very clean but now the stove top will not heat. I told them to unplug the thing until they can make sure that is not a hazard to operate. After all these complaints I am shocked to see so many customers having problems with the Kenmore ranges. My mother always bought Kenmore and when I bought my first and all homes since have been furnished with Kenmore and Whirlpool appliances. So sad to see that Sears is losing their special touch! Sears was always known for their customer service and customer satisfaction! Now with my parents thousands of miles away, I have to worry about their appliances blowing up.

I called Sears customer service 4 times in one day and each time, they put me on hold to look something up and we were disconnected every time. I was turning on the simmer select burner, and heard a gun shot like noise coming from range. It was terrifying and boiling water from the other burner splashed on my hand. Everything went dead on the stove. It tripped the circuit breaker. I called customer service and product recalls 5 times and kept getting transferred. No one seemed to care, other than to tell me our stove is not subject to recall. I consider this not only a waste of money, but a safety issue.

Last week, the oven door to my 2-year-old Kenmore range exploded - shattering and sending shards of glass across the kitchen. The range hadnt been used since the night before and I had turned the broiler to low, opened the door to slip food onto the rack, and was in the process of closing the door when the glass completely shattered. I called Sears, where I bought the blasted thing. They suggested I contact Kenmore, who suggested I contact Frigidaire, who referred me back to Kenmore. No one seemed concerned that I could have been hurt and that the range I purchased in good faith and based on a history of using Kenmore appliances couldnt be used. I do not have the money to trash this faulty range or I would. I can say, without hesitation, that I will never purchase an appliance from Sears or Kenmore again due to the lack of effective customer service over an obviously flawed design. I still havent had it fixed and am sickened every time I walk into my kitchen.

I have had this washer for many years and see myself using it for many more to come. Would recommend to friends. Ive never had nor will I ever have a better washing machine. The appearance is sleek, innovative, and modern. It goes well with the interior of my home as well as the dryer that I own. I couldnt ask for a dryer that looks any different. The value is what you pay for, and in this case its well worth the price. It falls into a good range and is inexpensive compared to other washers.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range in November 2011. I also bought an extended warranty. When the range was about 3 yr old the bottom oven failed to heat. It was repaired. Then this past October 2016, the bottom oven wouldnt heat. November 23rd it was repaired. I extended the warranty because with two repairs I wasnt confident with the range. Then on December 20th, I was using the top oven at 400 degrees, and everything was fine. I then turned on the bottom range at 350 degrees, and noticed it wasnt heating after about ten minutes. I opened the oven to see if it was hot. A ball of flames came out at me. I burnt my eyebrows and a good part of my hair. Luckily I was able to shut out any flames on me, and I closed the oven and shut it off.I called Sears the next morning, rather shaken to report what I consider a safety issue. They scheduled a service call so a technician could access the problem. I told them I didnt want it repaired, only replaced. I got a bit of a runaround. They first came quickly then ordered parts. Sears says it is repairable. They scheduled me for Jan 5th, and I waited all day and no one showed. Today, someone came. I said I didnt want it fixed. The service man called his supervisor, then Sears directly called me, and said as part of the process I must have it repaired then file a complaint. When I called they said I should have refused the repair, because now it is deemed in working order. I said I dont feel safe after my ordeal. The supervisor at customer service said even if I had a brand new stove, no one could guarantee my safety. Talk about confidence inspiring. I let them know I wasnt pleased with that. They then offered me a $630 credit towards a new stove. I paid $2,300. I didnt accept yet, because I dont know if I should.

This dishwasher is very thorough and cleans so quietly I cant even hear it in the other room! A quick rinse is all I need before my Kenmore takes care of all the rest. Energy efficient and leaves my dishes sparkling clean! At 24 my dishwasher is compact enough that it leaves plenty of space for cupboards beneath the counter! Bowls, large plates, dishes and even space for all sorts of other sizes and even challenging sizes to boot! My Kenmore has a sleek and basic design that looks casual and classic without all of those buttons or knows. Plus, its easy to clean and comes in different styles; I like the simplicity of my white design! For overall value and the best price range for your budget, you truly do get the best bang for your buck with your new Kenmore washer.

Very cold and insulated well. I have this unit outdoors and it stays cold. I also like the rack height. The frost free feature is important to me and provides easy maintenance. You can fit a lot in this unit. The space is better than the chest freezer I replaced. I like how every area keeps the same temperature as well. Very nice unit. The outside is white which matches my other outdoor appliances. The style is also plain and easy to clean. I wanted something simple in design and not hard to keep up. This unit fits that need. For the price I was very happy. It blew me away compared to something I was looking at from Costco. I knew what I wanted and this fit that expectation but at first avoided it because I thought it might have been out of my price range.

That didnt happen either. Instead, we were pitched getting a warranty for $40/mo after paying a $60 fee to start. Completely dissatisfied with our product and experience and will likely be getting something else from another brand. The oven we bought at the same time, also Kenmore, is another story. I bought the most expensive and top of the line stove over 3k with the thought of getting the best product they offer. If this is Sears Kenmore best I feel very sorry for anyone that paid less. Dual convection fans but cooks uneven. Takes 20 min to come up to full temp if it’s at 400 and told by Sears service tech this is normal. My 20 year old Jenn-Air it replaced took 8 min to come up to 450. The front panel looks like hell after 1 year. My dog can swipe his nose across it and turn on burners. It’s a safety hazard as done it when a towel was on the burner. The top glass if you look at it wrong it will scratch. I use aluminum bottom Swiss diamond pots and pans never made a mark on the Jenn-Air and this thing looks worse now after 2 years than my 20 year old glass did on the old stove that had cast iron used on it now and then. This is the finest Chinese garbage ever made. You just cannot buy a quality product anymore no matter what you pay. I tried to get the glass replaced and fix the stove and no luck. I will never buy another Sears/Kenmore product ever again and go out of my way to tell others how poor of a product this really is. Had the Jenn-Air not got the top smashed when I put it out in the shed it would be back in place of this piece of junk and be outside with a big sign on it saying how terrible Sears products and service is now. No wonder Craftsman tools went to Lowe’s and no wonder Sears is now barely above water. Done with them completely. I should have learned my lesson on the terrible Elite dishwasher we have and all the issues with that thing but tried to give them another chance as back 20 years ago products from them lasted forever compared to other brands.

Bought a Frigidaire appliance package for a new home build in 2008. 36 Cooktop, 30 Double wall oven, Dishwasher, and side by side Fridge. All in stainless steel. Had to replace the wall oven within 4 years, replaced dishwasher a year later. Cooktop is now on its second service for a product recall and will most likely be replaced very soon. Fridge quit making ice within 6 years. Replaced wall oven with Kenmore Pro (another Frigidaire/Electrolux product). It had to be serviced within a year and is crapping out again but is now out of warranty. Sure dont make stuff like they used to. Rest assured that my replacements will not have those names attached. >$10,000 in 10 years time on appliances is pretty ridiculous. Mom always used and spoke positively about her Kenmore appliances. My initial expectations were met because the appliance was very nice and looked very good. The refrigerator was installed easy. Also, all the drawers and compartments were easy to understand, and clean. I like the reliability - never had refrigerator repaired. I like the ergonomic handle - easy to open & easy on the hand. I like the effective crisper drawer - keeps produce fresher. I like the temperature control dial, can turn temperature down when I am gone for an extended period. However, I would improve the length and width of some compartments on the interior door to fit a wider range of containers. I would also improve the seal on the door because it no longer seals closed as good as when it was new. I would make the entire refrigerator scratch proof.

My washer, a Kenmore top-loading washer, model 2002 was purchased brand new from Sears. It is exactly 9 years old. It still washes, but for about 3 years now, it ALWAYS gets out of balance! The ONLY time it doesnt bang around out of balance is the very rare occasion I wash an extra small load. I am one person and wash 1 medium load about once a week. Sometimes a sort of large load,This washer has never been heavily used in any way. But, no matter how carefully I arrange the laundry in the washer when it gets to the spin cycle it sounds like someone is banging around inside it with a sledgehammer. The machine usually moves out of place it bangs so hard. There is no way to balance a load in this machine! Also - I HATE the safety lid lock button that makes me wait forever to be able to open the lid and try to re-arrange the load so it will not bang - but half the time - I cant really see why its out of balance and rearranging often still doesnt work ANYWAY. This was the least expensive washer they had - but I urge you - DONT buy it or buy any they have similar to the 2002 model. My mom had a Kenmore that lasted over 35 years. Boy, the old saying they dont make em like that anymore is an understatement. Im of the opinion a $300+ washer that gets medium use should last AT LEAST 15 years BEFORE it presents problems. This one started this problem at 6 years old. Also - I hope my next washer does NOT have a safety lid lock. It is an entirely unnecessary issue that presents way too many problems!
