Kenmore Range Warranty

Kenmore Range Warranty

The Kenmore range warranty will depend on the specific model and purchase date of the range.

Typically, Kenmore ranges come with a one-year limited warranty that covers parts and labor for any defects or issues that may arise during normal use. Some models may have longer or more comprehensive warranties, so it's important to check the warranty information that came with the range or contact Kenmore customer service for more details.

Additionally, customers can purchase extended warranties or protection plans for their Kenmore ranges, which can provide additional coverage beyond the standard warranty period. These plans can cover things like accidental damage, power surges, and other issues that may not be covered by the standard warranty.

As with any warranty, it's important to read the terms and conditions carefully to understand what is and isn't covered, as well as any requirements for making a claim. If you have any questions or concerns about your Kenmore range warranty, it's best to contact Kenmore customer service for assistance.

I have always preferred an electric stove over a gas stove. I had my stove and hot water on propane so I decided to do all electric and thats when I purchased the Kenmore electric range. I have never owned a glass top stove that didnt have the coil burners. There really wasnt any other options. I learned that if you spill something on the stove while cooking on it to make sure you clean it up before you use it again because it is a lot harder to get it clean if you keep cooking on it. It cleans up great as long as you clean it after every use. It has a convection option instead of just bake selection which I use most of the time because its faster and it cooks more evenly. It also has one burner that is called turbo boil. When you use that burner it boils within less than 1 minute. It is awesome. Really cant think of anything negative. I would highly recommend the Kenmore electric range. It is the best oven I have ever owned.

Kenmore has always been a leader in appliances and I have a wonderful stove that is easy to clean and includes enough room to cook a Thanksgiving meal! It has electronic ignition which has revolutionized lighting pilots on the stove top and an igniter that engages in the oven once a certain temperature is reached! I’m sure all brands include this technology but I’ve researched by virtue of customer reviews that Kenmore shines in less repairs overall! In appearance, it is beautiful and enhances the aesthetic value of your kitchen! Easy, understandable controls keep you adept of the functionality and less time reading handbooks! All in all, I have been quite content in my satisfaction of the Kenmore label! Congratulations to an innovative dependable company????

Im very satisfied with its performance. I never really have an issue with stuck on food or cloudiness. It thoroughly cleans and sterilizes my dishes and it doesnt take hours either. Very good model for mid price range dishwasher. I have actually moved houses and the size of the dishwasher and location has been a perfect fit both times. I went from a very large kitchen to a much smaller one and it fit with no problem. I really would have liked a sleeker look but for the price and performance I am very satisfied. The white color doesnt stain or dirty either. Very, very, very happy with the performance I am getting for the dollar amount I paid. Excellent value. This is a very good brand and model for someone that is at my income level looking for a new dishwasher.

I come from a family that uses many oils and mean in their dishes so when I saw how clean this machine for our bowls I was honestly shocked. I have a small kitchen and so making space is a problem but with this machine it fits perfectly next to our oven and has never cause a problem size wise. With my Kenmore dryer I never really cared about the appearance of my appliances but this product really fits in with my modern theme. This has to be one of the most reasonable priced Kenmore items I have ever purchased lol. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a reasonably priced item.

I have had no problems with the refrigerator I bought at Sears. I have had the refrigerator for over 2 years now, and am very satisfied with its operation. It is the three-door model with the freezer on the bottom. I will have to say if you are older, like myself, you would probably do better by getting one with the freezer located in a different place. I find it difficult to bend over or kneel for a period of time to locate something in the freezer. Other than this self-inflicted problem, I would have to say that the Kenmore refrigerator has proven to be an excellent choice.

I had a Kenmore Range MOD# 790.9611. It turned on while my child and I were not home and burned our apartment down to the stud, leaving us homeless and with absolutely nothing. Everything we had is gone and Kenmore doesnt want to take responsibility for their product. Mind you I have not used the stove in several months because we do not eat at home during the summer.

In November of 2014 we purchased a Kenmore Elite 790 series oven from Sears. On June 12, 2017 the unit caught fire and burned the control panel to a molten mass of wires. Except for extraordinary presence of mind killing the electrical circuit we would have had a serious house fire. I contacted Sears and they refused to repair or replace the unit because it wasnt covered by their warranty. So now I own a $2000.00 range which is apparently only functional for 2 1/2 years. Needless to say I could have leased a range for less money and at least the leasing company would have replaced it. I will never again purchase from Sears.

I purchased this Kenmore convection range in July 2011 online from Sears for $782.16 with free delivery. A few weeks ago, I was using the self-cleaning cycle when I heard a pop and saw a spark of light. I turned the cycle off, let it cool and turned the cleaning cycle back on and finished the cleaning. In my heart I knew there was something not right. I tested the preheat and it seemed slow, but I was able to use the oven a few times after that. Then the last time I turned it on, I got a weird chlorine smell/burning plastic?...That was it... No more oven. After the disbelief subsided, I started making phone calls. Per Sears... my one year warranty was up and I was up a creek. Sears repair sent a repairman ($80.25 with tax) and I was told it would be $348.02 to repair the electronic range control and overlay.Needless to say, the repairman had little to say except, These things are mass produced, its the manufacturer (Kenmore? probably not) not Sears. I guess Sears only sells the junk. After that they have no responsibility. He also had the gall to say, It is what it is, and left coupons for a percentage off a new stove. The little Troll even gave me a line about purchasing a new warranty after they repaired their junk. TWILIGHT ZONE... I will never buy another Kenmore product nor will I buy from Sears. If I could give a negative star rating I would... Now I need to go look for a stove as I am raising three grandchildren and they like to eat regular... Guess you get what you pay for... or not!

This was a brand new unit in my brand new house. From day one I had problems with both the oven and microwave. First-after using the microwave for a couple weeks, I noticed the handle had become loose. No problem I thought, Ill just tighten the screws-nope. The screws are not accessible. They are hidden under the plastic frame and are not able to get to. I called Sears authorized service, they came out, and because of the poor design flaw, they had to replace the entire door=$500.00, which was covered. Now the oven, it never has heated properly and when I went to use it, it made a loud humming noise, then when I went to use the broiler, the cooling fan you could hear, was scraping against the sides of something inside. Once again, Sears service was called, came out, had to order a new fan/motor. To access the fan/motor, they had to pull the unit from the wall, and in doing so, tore my wall up a little bit. When they sat it on the floor to work on it, they didnt put anything under it and there were major dents in my new luxury vinyl flooring. They got it repaired, re-installed it and it worked fine until yesterday. The microwave door handle is loose again also. I called Sears service yesterday and explained to them its doing the exact same thing it was when they were here before. The representative informed me it would be a service charge of something like $250.00/hr. I couldnt believe it-I told him its doing the same thing it did before. Their response- their repairs only have a 90 day warranty. I told him I wasnt paying for what obviously is a poorly designed appliance. I informed him I would contact my attorney. Bottom line- every mechanical and electrical device will have its issues over time, to me, its about how the manufacturer stands behind their product. Will not buy a Sears product again.

I purchased a Whirlpool built HE Oasis Washer, Kenmore brand but Whirlpool constructed. It really is a piece of junk. I paid right at $1,000 in the fall of 2008 and within three months, I needed a service call. Then right after the one year warranty, I needed several parts replaced and now one year after, it has three error codes. Everyone is recommending the LG machines for everything because they last much longer! I am certainly not going to throw my money away on a Whirlpool appliance any longer. I went through the same thing with our refrigerator and microwave. I bought Whirlpool in 1980 and swore by it. I didnt replace an appliance (purchased washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator and dishwasher) all at the same time in June of 1980. All appliances lasted for 15+ years. Now, Whirlpool doesnt make anything to last! Large appliances are much too expensive to have to replace every three to five years!

Its great. I would recommended it. Since I have had it, it has worked very well and has not let me down... not once. I have not had to get it fixed or anything and works as good as when first got it. Have no complaints and is good value for money. Doesnt spin loud like a lot of other washer and dryers. It just looks like any other average washer or dryer. It doesnt look horrible and comes with a wide range of choices such as colors, etc. Its not the cheapest brand but you get what you pay for. I would rather pay more and get a machine that I know works very well and is reliable.

Kenmore Electric Range Model 790. Do not purchase this product!! The past few years we have been dealing with this range going directly to broil while baking. Almost started a house fire when it first happened. After calling and writing Sears I have gotten no response, no help or assistance with repair and there has been no recall even though I have read hundreds of similar incidents. I have unplugged it, reset breaker, and it works for a week or two then does it again. I have learned to cook using broil but it gets too hot and code error F10 flashes. Absolute terrible product and I am disappointed in Sears for not helping people out and for safety reasons, getting these ranges out of peoples homes. No wonder Sears is all but going out of business. You cannot run a successful business selling this kind of appliance. PLEASE RECALL THIS ELECTRIC RANGE!!

I had purchased a Kenmore wall oven back in December 2011. A few months ago, the racks were not fitting properly and the pan with food kept spilling and crashing onto the element and I kept getting burned. Last straw was last evening when I burned my arm pretty good when trying to rescue a falling pan. I went to Sears this morning and they told me it was probably the racks so I ordered 2. Now reading all the complaints, I see that it probably is not the racks but the product itself and it is no longer under warranty. The sales people looked at me like I was nuts when describing this problem.

I just bought a coop two months that had been renovated and the kitchen has Kenmore appliances. Dishwasher and refrigerator seem fine, but the gas range (model number 790.7050 or 7060) runs super-hot. I first noticed that the French fries cooking at 450 degrees really came out as crispy critters, so I turned the oven down about 50 degrees and its better. The real problem is that the oven is so hot that I have to run both the vent on high and a fan in order to cook something on the stove top at the same time. Ive never had this problem with any other gas range Ive had (Im 62) so its really puzzling. Now that Ive read the other comments about the ovens, I will be super careful and am considering just getting another gas range. I think this is the way this thing is designed. Even at the lower oven heat, the temperature in the kitchen is unbearable. This is from someone who hardly uses air conditioning in the summer. Anyone else have this experience?

I have loved my Kenmore Elite range model 79098023802 made by Electrolux for 6 years until this weekend. The range expands when cooking and the racks fall to the bottom causing everything to spill. I contacted Sears and was told that this happens after using the self cleaning feature which apparently damages the oven walls, the oven will now expand when using the oven making the racks fall. I would have to have the whole interior replaced for $300.00. When I asked if this would happen again after replacing the interior I was told it was possible. This is clearly a manufacturer defect and Sears/Electrolux should stand by their product regardless if it is under warranty. My husband is recently unemployed and we are unable to fix the problem which Sears/Electrolux should take responsibility for a faulty product!!

I absolutely hate to put down such a venerable old name as Sears and Kenmor
I absolutely hate to put down such a venerable old name as Sears and Kenmore. I bought a brand new high end refrigerator, range microwave and dishwasher from Sears 6 years ago, and they have all been falling apart ever since. Its heartbreaking as I had old appliances that I chucked out that had served me well for 30 years, but after a kitchen remodel, I wanted all shiny new stainless steel appliances. The troubles started soon after purchase, and now two of the appliances are non-functional, and the other two are limping along.REFRIGERATOR - Be sure to look over very well any refrigerator you buy. For some odd reason, this Kenmore stops the rack several inches short of the rear of the fridge. Not only cheats you out of valuable space, things are constantly dropping down in the no mans land I call the back of my fridge. The worst part is the ice maker. The ice hopper would block up constantly, and Id have to manually pull out, bust up and defrost the ice in the ice hopper and clean it out - an easy hour wasted on this task. Now the ice maker does not work at all. The ice freezes in the water supply tube, and has to be defrosted by a hair dryer, which takes forever to do. Im tired of spending hours getting this darn ice maker to work. I just put ice cube trays in the freezer now. Its very disappointing.RANGE - From the get go, the range has had a strange hum when you turn on the jets, and the oven. It scared me at first, but the salesman that sold me the range told me its common for a hum noise when you first turn on the jets, and the oven. Strange, I thought, but it doesnt stop humming - it just sounds like a kitchen range practicing yoga...hummmmmm. The oven has to be set about 50 degrees hotter than the temperature asked for, otherwise youll find a raw turkey in your oven at dinnertime on Thanksgiving, like I did. I learned to adjust for the inaccurate temperature on the range, but 50 degrees? Sheesh!MICROWAVE - The door closure foot has broken twice, and good thing I bought two of them from the Appliance Parts Bank here in H.B. I have replaced two of them myself, not wanting to pay $75.00 minimum for a repairman to come and fix it. Also very annoying. Shoddy construction - plastic parts that are not made as well as my grandsons Lego parts!WORST PROBLEM & DANGEROUS... The microwave runs when it is in OFF position. In other words, if the door is closed, the microwave runs, never shuts off, and I mean HOT! A couple of times I have used it and went in the other room to do something and came back to almost a fire in my kitchen - smoke all over and the microwave still running. It has automatically shut off a couple of times. The door has to remain open at all times and the bright light is burning 24-7. Ive got to unplug the whole machine now as I dont want my house to burn down.DISHWASHER - What a piece! I use it seldom but water does not drain out properly. THATS ALL FOLKS - Very sorry, as I bought these from Sears because Sears was paying its reserve troops who were called to combat - my sense of love for that act alone propelled me to buy these units.

We purchased our house from the original owner and have had nothing but problems with the oven racks. They never used the oven, so were unaware of the problem. It is Model # C 970-418232, Serial # NF70817966. We have had the racks fall in the middle of baking something NUMEROUS times, finally with one incidence causing a serious burn. This is unacceptable! I have read that others have had the same issues, but there have been no resolutions as of yet. It is not under warranty anymore, and I dont think that this should be called a warranty issue, but should be recalled due to the risk of VERY SERIOUS burns, items breaking when rack falls, etc!!! We should be able to SAFELY use ANY of our oven racks on ANY of the shelf levels! My mother has also been burned by our oven, and my children are forbidden to use it! Has ANYONE been compensated for this problem? Has Sears ever replaced any of the racks and given the owner the correct size? I look forward to hearing more about this from other owners, and would love to hear back from Sears! This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS problem that needs to be fixed!

Kenmore Elite double wall oven is not safe. The top oven which I use frequently has oven racks that no longer fit. The interior wall has bowed due and the technician indicated that my oven is no longer safe to use. I will need to replace the wall which would cost me a little over $500 plus the $75 tech fee. Sears offered their warranty insurance and would cover up to $500 plus reimburse the $75 tech fee. But again, does this solve the problem? The self-cleaning will cause the walls to bow again and from what I see, there seems to have been flames that left burnt marks around the interior front vents. I am reporting my complaint to www.cpsc.org and to Sears as well. From this site, there are five reports, all a Kenmore model. I was told by a Sears consumer complaint officer that my model is made by LG and that I should call them because it is a manufacturing problem. Im not buying from Sears again.

It works well for us. It is a spare refrigerator for our garage. No performance concerns. Temp stays cold and havent experienced any problems so far. We use this mainly for beverages. So for our use, the size is sufficient. May be a bit small if a family is using as their only refrigerator. So obviously it isnt anything too fancy. However, it has a nice clean look. Matches other white appliances nicely. No complaints from me. Very good value for a midrange refrigerator. Again, this is what we use in our garage for beverages and some additional storage on holidays and such. Pleased with this refrigerator.

Kenmore 9240 Range - We replaced our kitchen appliances a year ago. The first problem is the preheating time this oven takes. The oven requires 25-30 minutes to preheat. I was told by the service man that this is because there are no coils in the bottom of the new ovens so they take longer. What a pain!!!!! Please give me the old coils and let me preheat in 10 minutes!!! I then used the self cleaning feature. The heat was so intense (840 degrees) that it literally melted the resurfaced cabinets next to the oven. The repair technician said that this was very common for this oven, and that the salesman should have told us about this. Guess what - he didnt!!!! I now have to pay to repair my new kitchen. Sears would not. If you have resurfaced kitchen cabinets - stay away from Sears ovens!!!!

I have never had the brand fail me. I have even purchased Kenmore appliances used due to their reliability and my inability to afford a new appliance. My fridge has even cooling. No warm spots. There is also more than enough room for all of my needs. The height is good, all my bottles and jugs fit upright, no laying things down so the contents can leak out. Its also easy to see what youre looking for. I like the ability to change my shelves to fit the needs, such as the holidays fitting all the pies, desserts and salads in and still having room for all the regular fridge items. However, I dont like the plastic shelf barriers. They should be metal. So if something is a bit large it just bulges instead of breaking. I dont care for shortness of the drawers. I thought they were longer so things like stalks of celery and bags of carrots fit without trimming them.

Lasted a long time before I purchased a new refrigerator. No problems with it until it was worn out. Reliable and freezer kept food well. It fit my needs at the time. With a family and grandkids, I needed something larger and I moved up to stainless steel. The freezer was a bit small, but it was appropriate for the fridge size. It was basic white refrigerator. Nothing exceptional, but it served the purpose for what I needed. It was easy to clean and maintain with mild soap and water. It was a good refrigerator for the price. It was comparable if not a bit better in the price range with similar models. Its a good choice if youre not ready for a more expensive stainless steel model.

My washer, a Kenmore top-loading washer, model 2002 was purchased brand new
My washer, a Kenmore top-loading washer, model 2002 was purchased brand new from Sears. It is exactly 9 years old. It still washes, but for about 3 years now, it ALWAYS gets out of balance! The ONLY time it doesnt bang around out of balance is the very rare occasion I wash an extra small load. I am one person and wash 1 medium load about once a week. Sometimes a sort of large load,This washer has never been heavily used in any way. But, no matter how carefully I arrange the laundry in the washer when it gets to the spin cycle it sounds like someone is banging around inside it with a sledgehammer. The machine usually moves out of place it bangs so hard. There is no way to balance a load in this machine! Also - I HATE the safety lid lock button that makes me wait forever to be able to open the lid and try to re-arrange the load so it will not bang - but half the time - I cant really see why its out of balance and rearranging often still doesnt work ANYWAY. This was the least expensive washer they had - but I urge you - DONT buy it or buy any they have similar to the 2002 model. My mom had a Kenmore that lasted over 35 years. Boy, the old saying they dont make em like that anymore is an understatement. Im of the opinion a $300+ washer that gets medium use should last AT LEAST 15 years BEFORE it presents problems. This one started this problem at 6 years old. Also - I hope my next washer does NOT have a safety lid lock. It is an entirely unnecessary issue that presents way too many problems!

Some electric stoves overheat and does not cook properly but Ive never had that issue with my Kenmore. I trust my stove to cook at the proper temps that I put it on. I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago with no response, so I contacted Kenmore yesterday regarding the self-cleaning of the gas range which left spots on the bottom of my oven. I did everything the manual stated to do and also took out the racks and self cleaned them myself. The representative on the phone told me to put a hot cloth with white vinegar over the area, and then I may have to rub the area, if that didnt work to take a razor blade and lightly go over area and the spots would be removed. After trying both methods neither worked. I phoned again and another representative told me she could have a tech come out the following day but it would cost me $75.00 or $39.00 a month to cover all appliances in the house. I told her absolutely not and informed her that I would not be purchasing anymore Kenmore products. Then out of curiosity I wondered how much the part would cost just to replace it and after researching on the internet the part was $60.00. So therefore I would have had a tech come out for $75.00 then probably charge me at least $100.00 for the part and to replace it, what a rip-off. Other customers please do research before falling for this scam.

On opening the Kenmore convection wall oven door, the handle was loose and when I pulled on it, the entire glass door shattered, cutting my hand, ruining food on the counter, spraying glass as far as 12 from the oven. Using a whisk broom, regular broom and the vacuum, we were able to get most of the glass up and then we washed all of the kitchen rugs. If a small child or one of our pets had been next to me, some serious harm may have resulted. I have read about other customers having this problem and that replacing the door is not a safe option - it can happen again. Its a serious design flaw.I have spent at least an hour or two so far on the phone with Sears and Kenmore, last night immediately after the explosion and then again this morning. They are willing to send a repair tech to assess the problem at a cost to me of $99 because I have no extended warranty. NOT FAIR! This is their problem and they should offer ways to replace the oven with a better design or recompense me so that I can get a safe oven.

The Kenmore Electric Range model #790.9011 is a traditional coil top stove
The Kenmore Electric Range model #790.9011 is a traditional coil top stove that I purchased in 2011. Within 2 years of this brand new purchase I had to replace a burner fuse. The part costs $30. Within 5 years, there was a flash of light and a small explosion at the oven control panel and then it went blank. The part cost $170 to replace, assuming that would fix it, according to a parts store expert (he was a former repairman). I didnt think it was worth replacing and had to get a new range. The warranty was for only one year on the Kenmore and according to a store salesman all range brands only have a one year warranty today too. Manufacturers online claim that these types of ranges should last about 16 years. I have since found out that although the latest version of this Kenmore stove rates well with Consumer Reports, it is made by Electrolux, which has a poor repair history and poor brand reliability, according to Consumer Reports. It looks exactly like the Kenmore I bought 5 years ago. I wonder if the Kenmore I purchased in 2011 was also an Electrolux model. I definitely dont recommend the Kenmore Electric Range.

I bought a Kenmore gas range from Sears in Sept. 2012. I recently tried to use the broiler and the self cleaning features (not at the same time of course). When using these features, the range produced an extreme amount of a chemical smelling smoke that filled my house and set off my smoke detectors. I called a technician and was told that the unit was burning off a cutting oil that is used in the manufacturing process and that the smoke was perfectly normal. REALLY??? My husband has asthma and has had to leave the house because of the smoke. I cant get anyone from Sears of Kenmore to help me. I am incurring costs like crazy trying to get this mess cleaned up, paying for my husbands hotel and paying a company to come in and run air scrubbers. I have also had to remove the stove from the house in order to reduct the smell of toxins and now I have no way to cook for my family.

Kemore Range Model 970503720 - My wife and I have had three brand new stove
Kemore Range Model 970503720 - My wife and I have had three brand new stoves stop working on us. The most recent stove was a Kenmore Model 970C503720 which is a convection fan. This was an upgrade from Sears from the basic model which did not have the convection. Soon after purchase on stove number one, the clock stopped which controls the oven temperature. This would not allow the oven to heat up higher that 287 degrees. We had the control board replaced but it died as well. We received a replacement stove, same problem occurred; then, we upgraded to our current stove and the same problem occurred. Sears indicated that this will be the last time they will help us because nobody else has this problem and they have suggested that if it happened again we must have a wiring problem. Nothing electronically with regard to the stove has changed in our house and before we bought these three new stoves, our previous stove ran just fine for 20 years. It is my belief that the control boards are defective. So now we are going to approach Sears for a fourth time; concerned that we will not get satisfaction. We are willing to upgrade to something that does not have this kind of control board but did chose to stay with this design to avoid having to buy new pots and pans to accommodate the newer cooking surfaces.

Never had any issues with it; its energy efficient and keeps frozen foods frozen and cold food cold. The price is also reasonable for such a reliable appliance. Its a good size for two people; it holds several beverage packs, has large crispers and there is enough space to arrange items if you really want to load it up. Its a typical two door appliance with a top freezer - it is kind of generic looking but its functionality is optimal. We really like it... After replacing my Kenmore Elite slide in oven/stove because it was a lemon with too many issues to enumerate, I foolishly choose the next generation thinking it was improved. This stove cannot maintain a temperature for more than 10 minutes before it begins a preheat function and it begins to try to come to temp by firing up the top and/or bottom heating elements effectively ruining any delicate baked goods like cookies or cakes. I will never ever buy a Kenmore product again. In addition even though they market a five element stove top, if you have 2 elements on high and the oven on, the entire unit blows the breakers and fuses (and it is not our wiring/breakers that are malfunctioning). Worst product ever!

We wanted a conduction stove/oven and after looking at more than 73 different brands and models we went with the Kenmore Elite. It has 2 ovens, which is great when you need to make more than one dish, the only 2 problems I have with it. Neither oven is big enough to stand a spiral ham up (20 lb turkey fit okay) and you cant use foil (that is how I was taught to cook turkey). We also love the options to lock both ovens and cooktops to prevent accidental turn on. My 1.8 year old water heater started producing water that is too hot. So, I turned the thermostat setting to Low. Still getting temps of as high as 147 - 157 F. Concerned that grandkids may get burned. If I adjust the setting even a little bit below Low, the temp drops to 92F. Note: Owners manual says Low setting should produce 110F water. Factoring in the possibility of short repeated heating cycles causing expected readings of 20F higher, it is still producing water 10-17F higher than expected with no ability to lower the temp without dropping too much (92F).2May17 - Sears Technician diagnosed and ordered gas control valve (thermostat). 10May17 - Sears Technician installed new valve. Would not start. He conferred with Sears and AO Smith tech support staff. They determined that the valve must be defective. Ordered new valve. Next morning I (the customer) tried heater once again. It worked fine, but produced same hot temps as before.15May17 - Sears technician returned. I shared my temp readings with him. He contacted Sears & AO Smith tech support. They concluded that gas valve was working properly. They rationalized that the problem was related to stacking (short heat cycles). I pointed out that even if we allow an additional 20F for that, it is 10-15F too high with no ability to lower the temperature to a proper range. They suggested installing a mixing valve and checking single handed faucets to see of having any cross-over issues (i.e. turn on cold but still pulling hot water). Closed call but told technician intended to register a product complaint with Sears/AO Smith but I was very satisfied with his service/help. Total labor cost for Service Call: $209. Original cost of heater install $1215.

I purchased a Kenmore gas range in Oct 2013: model#79036903 905 Serial #NF33430475. My complaints are many with this range, but the most difficult is removing the storage bin to clean the floor under the range. It entails super dexterity to pull up the clip on the left while holding down the clip on the right, at the same time pulling the draw outward. This can only be done if you straddle the draw. These clips are located on the far inner sides of the draw. Once the draw is out, there is a bar across the front that makes it difficult to get to the crud that gathers under that bar. Sears needs to rethink this design. I always purchased appliances from them. In the last few years, I am very dissatisfied with their products.

I am irate with Sears. I purchased a Kenmore dishwasher from them in December 2010, and I had my own technician install it. The dishwasher was a total lemon, and started malfunctioning the first week we owned it. After four repairs for the same problem, and eight months of begging, Sears finally agreed to replace it. What is the only catch? Since I chose to use my own installation technician instead of Sears service, Sears now expects me to pay $150 to install a new dishwasher! So, they sell me a piece of junk, and then expect me to shell out $150 to remedy the situation! This is unreal.Below is a list of everything disappointing about our Sears experience:1. Sears didnt agree to replace their product right away. It took four breakdowns, and eight months to get them to get any sort of customer service.2. Sears never informed me when I bought the dishwasher that by not using the Sears installation service, I would be responsible for the replacement costs, if the product malfunctioned.3. Their multitude of DISRESPECTFUL sales representatives ranged from sarcastic to condescending and arrogant to blatantly rude.4. I was informed that I could not speak to anyone higher on the chain of command than a sales representative. I could write to the CEO if I wish.5. Their sales representatives on many occasions reminded me that, they were doing me a favor by not charging me a $50 restocking fee for the replacement dishwasher, since my product replacement was outside of the 90-day window. Ummm, Sears refused to replace the dishwasher within the 90-day window despite the fact that it had broken twice!6. One sales representative sarcastically offered me a $10 gift card for my year of trouble.I am incredibly disappointed in Sears. They used to be my “go to store” for any appliance, automotive, and outdoor need. Unfortunately, they will NEVER see another dime from me.

We were excited about our new Kenmore oven. It was installed today and it took more than one hour to reheat the oven to 400*. After turned off the oven, the fan was on for a while. Its also very loud oven. Its new and we already called Sears for service. Im having red flags already and not sure if I will keep this oven. Do yourself a favor do NOT buy Kenmore.

Kenmore Elite dual oven Electric Range Model 790. Purchased this stove in late 2009. Within months, the touch sensors on the back panel would work only intermittently. Called Sears to have repairs made to my new stove and they walked us through pressing lots of buttons on the display board to reset it. Problem persisted, but didnt have the time/energy to look into it further. Months later, the top oven stopped working correctly. Not sure what happened, but anything we cooked was raw on top and burned to a crisp on the bottom. A few more calls later to their service department where, once again, they walked us through the process of turning the top oven on to as hot as it would go. Recording the temperature using a thermometer we had to place in the oven, turn the oven down, wait for it to cool down, record the temp, etc., etc.Again, we gave up and decided my time is more valuable than a working top oven and had already spent HOURS on the phone being shuffled around from department to department (Warranty Dept, Customer Service, Customer Solutions, Home Warranty, back to customer Service where I was transferred incorrectly back to Home Warranty...). So, we lived with an intermittently working board and now a clearly improperly heating top oven. BUT - we didnt buy the extended warranty so we were now out of luck since a year has since passed.Fast forward three blissful (not) years with this piece of crap oven and we start to notice that the racks in the bottom oven seem to be very loose. Hmmmm. Take all racks out, rearrange them thinking that perhaps they have designated slots in which each rack fits, but they all seem to have the same problem. On the phone to Customer Service we go... And again we are transferred all over the organization until finally we land upon a person that might be able to help me. IF we are willing to pay $280 for a service contract upon which they will send a tech out to make repairs up to $500. If I dont want to go that route, I could always sign up for a Home Warranty ($55/month for 1yr contract or $35/month for 1yr contract for appliances) OR a Service Smart Agreement - again for repairs UP TO $500. After that, I pay for it... Oh yeah, I had to pay either a $90 or $60 service call each time a tech came out.At this point, my life is getting shorter and shorter and I decide I cant spent any more time being dragged around by the nose by Sears any longer and wave the white flag - until one day, I leaned down (to the floor, because this is where the bottom oven is) to lift a roast out of the oven and the racks suddenly collapse spraying bubbling, scalding juice all over the front of my arms, chest and legs. The oven walls seem to be expanding every time we turn this thing ON! Im now down to ONE rack in the bottom oven, a non-functional top oven (unless you like your cookies and biscuits raw on the top and charred on the bottom) and an intermittently working sensor - that, by the way, I rely on to use the top burners. If I could give this stove - and Sears Customer Service (Im looking at you, Cheryl) negative stars, I would.I tried today to give it one more go at getting this thing serviced by Sears since the aluminum foil that Ive had to wrap around the sides of the racks in the oven (so that they will take up some space and not collapse on me under the weight of a casserole dish) is going to need to be beefed up soon, but it was once again fruitless. I spent HOURS on the phone going through the merry-go-round of transfers from one department to another and in the end, spoke with NINE different people in different departments until I ended with the above esteemed Cheryl in Customer Solutions who listened patiently to my story (which, by this time I had been a little sick and tired of reiterating) and went on to tell me that since I hadnt purchased an extended warranty through them that I was out of luck.Really? Even though my first call to complain about this happened within months of owning it - when it was under the one year warranty? Again, she called to my attention that I never even had a service person out to my house. Yeah, no kidding Cheryl, because they had ME to do the work for them - which I did, by spending hours over the phone pressing this button, relaying the info to the tech on the phone, pressing that button, relaying the info. etc, etc. Sears did a really good job of stringing me along long enough that I was out of warranty and they could wash their hands of the whole thing. For generations, my family has been die-hard Sears appliance customers and have always had excellent products and service. That is a thing of the past. Get you in, sell you the appliance, and get you to spend even MORE money on a warranty. God knows one shouldnt expect a $2000 stove to last longer than a year... Ill be buying my appliances locally from here on out.

When I was growing up we always had Kenmore products because my Dad always bought the best for Mom. All their appliances, stove, fridge, washer, dryer were all Kenmore. Mom still only wants Kenmore. They were great because they lasted so long. I am 60 and Mom just replaced the Kenmore washer she had when I was about 25 or so.

Last night, we heard a loud noise and went to the kitchen to discover the glass door on the oven had shattered. No one was in the kitchen at the time and the oven had not been used for more than 24 hours. Sears says there is no recall on this. I have seen lots of comments from other people that have the same issue. We did not buy the extended warranty, so our 2 year old oven is now worthless. Sears offered to send a tech at no charge to come to my house but we will need to pay for labor and parts. If this was just a part that stopped working that would be understandable, but exploding glass on an appliance that is not being used seems like a defect to me.

Refrigerator had enough room for our weekly groceries. The shelves can be moved easily to create the right size storage of larger items like milk and juice. The refrigerator was easy to clean, mainly just wipe clean. It operated efficiently and did not increase electric bill. Temperature stayed constant - did not have some food frozen in section that was not the freezer, as I have had with other refrigerators. The size of the refrigerator was efficient. Milk, Juice, and soft drinks all fit comfortably. In the doors there was enough room for all condiments and bottles of water. It was black, which is a color I like. Doesnt show fingerprints easy. It was easy to wipe clean. It fit in designated area for refrigerator and looked nice with other appliances. This refrigerator was a gift from parents to replace refrigerator that electrical surge ruined. The price was in range of what other similar refrigerators were priced. Delivery was free at store it was bought from. It was also installed free. It was a good price for the size and features.

I purchased a Kenmore gas range model 79071153705 in April of 2010 and in Nov of 2014 the oven and the broiler stopped getting hot, wouldnt heat up whatsoever. This is totally unacceptable! I didnt spend a good chunk of money on a major kitchen appliance for it to crap out within 5 years. I expected it to last 20-25 years. I have been without an oven for 3 mos now because I cant afford to get it fixed, which probably wouldnt be worth it because a repairman would charge an arm and a leg to fix it, and I cant afford a new range right now. I do know this, when I do buy a new range it wont be Kenmore. Kenmore stinks!!!

This Kenmore model had high ratings on several websites including Consumer Reports. I did a lot of research and It was definitely the best rated refrigerator in my price range and it had received great reviews from people that already had one. Consumer Reports recommended it. I like the solid construction and that the handles were grips inside the doors instead of on the door where you feel like youll pull the door off. There were lots of drawers and room to organize everything and shelves were able to be rearranged for tall objects. Good constant temperature throughout and freezer never iced over. But Kenmore could make the freezer section larger and make just one shelf on the door. Too crowded with two and hard to fit items in there. Also, maybe add a shelf inside the main part of the freezer to separate meats from other stuff. Had an ice maker which was a nice feature but it always got stuck and was loud and could startle you out of sleep at night. Nevertheless, Kenmore was a great refrigerator and met and even exceeded my expectations. I would buy another Kenmore.

I just purchased this range Friday after Thanksgiving 2015 and less than a week the burner caps got SOMETHING on it and it wont come off. The touch pad is ultra-sensitive when cleaning. (You can turn on the warmer, oven light, or even set the timer.) This is very frustrating. You have to WIPE WITH A WET, SOAPY cloth then a dry, no lint cloth so that it doesnt smudge. That also goes for the stainless. This range costs a mint too much to have to go through the inconvenience of this clean-up. As far as all the functions of the range, they seem to be working fine. Give me a couple of months and I will get back to you as to whether I am satisfied with this purchase.

The refrigerator was well-built, simple and before we had to replace it, it lasted quite a while to what I imagined the normal life of a refrigerator should be especially with so many people in and out constantly for food or ice. Towards the end it didnt stay as cold, especially not when actually filled. Had to rearrange the refrigerator periodically, but overall very roomy. Held enough to readily feed 5 people daily, 2 of which usually had to have their own meals. The refrigerator has no fancy gadgets but easy to clean.

Ive had this range for 6-7 years now. The motherboard was replaced 8 times in 4 years (fading, blinking, etc) and yet Sears would NOT replace it, they did extend my warranty one time, but its the absolute worst. If this range (Gas, Elite, Model 790) is not a lemon, I dont know what is. The repair guy (Mikey, on a first name basis because he was here so much) came to replace it one time and the one he brought, brand new, didnt work. I would never purchase another Sears product. Kenmore used to the Gold Standard and Sears used to be the King of customer service, no longer.

Kenmore range (model # 790.91413010) was purchased in March of 2011. A week or two later, the front control panel on the range fell in. Sears brought another range in the same model out and now this range has the exact same defect. Sears wants us to pay for the repair since warranty is no longer valid. I feel that this is a manufacturers defect or installation defect of the control panel, not something that the consumer should have to be accountable for. Sears/Kenmore needs to be held accountable for their products!

I purchased a bunch of Kenmore Elite kitchen appliances from Sears 3 years
I purchased a bunch of Kenmore Elite kitchen appliances from Sears 3 years ago - a gas range, a dishwasher and an over range microwave and hood combination. The problem happened with the microwave. When opening the door of the microwave recently, a peace of plastic from the edge of it got broken all of a sudden and fell on the floor. It was definitely not caused by us, or our inaccurate using of that equipment. We are very neat people, do not use the microwave frequently, just a couple of times a week and always very accurately. The problem was definitely caused by a disguised damage that the door obviously had since the beginning. Our attempt to receive a reasonable service from Sears resulted in an estimate in the amount of almost $400.00 for replacing the door, while the total price of the entire new product when we purchased it 3 years ago was $499.99. We understand that our product is not covered with a warranty any more, but, assuming that the damage (a very unusual and caused definitely by a disguised problem), can the repair price provided to us be considered reasonable? Just after 3 years of a very gentle usage of said appliance? It is obviously that both the manufacturer and the Sears corporation are not interested for their products to last long so that the people have to buy new frequently, increasing their profits. We are extremely disappointed and advise people not to purchase any appliances from Sears and avoid purchasing Kenmore products at all. Kenmore does not have a direct customer service, all attempts to contact them are transferred to Sears, while Sears representatives refuse to provide any reasonable help telling us that the repair price depends only on manufacturer. Once again, its just 3 years of an extremely gentle, infrequent and neat usage of that microwave and weve done nothing for this to happen, however, now we have to make a choice between repairing it for almost the price of a new one or buy a new one. Our previous microwave served us almost two decades and we would still have it if not the kitchen remodeling - the reason we decided to buy a new one. We will never purchase any Kenmore product anymore, nor we will purchase it from Sears. People, be careful - Kenmore and Sears are not reliable!!!

Performance was good. I rarely needed to pre-wash dishes by hand. Just rinse any solids or large amounts of liquids and dishes were always clean, even without using the hi-temp wash. Noise was tolerable, so you did not feel like you had to be in another room while the dishwasher was running. It is a standard sized dishwasher with a fairly normal interior layout common to most dishwashers in this price range. Dishwasher looks very nice in a kitchen of stainless steel appliances. They do show smudges and dirt, so cleaning is important. Window cleaner works wells to avoid streaks, but using stainless steel appliance cleaner gave the metal a deeper look, with easy application and is worth paying a few dollars for. This Kenmore was a good mid-range dishwasher. It is not silent, nor does it have an extremely well thought out interior, but it cleans well, looks good, and gets the job done for a reasonable price.

I tried to contact customer service and was transferred 6 times, then hung up on! The Kenmore Elite Range of 5 years almost burned my home down this morning. When I called to ask for assistance to determine if the range was safe to be in my home, they wanted to charge me $25 to just talk to someone! Then, they wanted to charge me $89.99 to send some to my home! Yes, I am furious that this company just wanted to collect money and would not help. I have had the Kenmore range 7909622240B more than a couple years and this is the first time this has happened to me. I have a 254 pound ham on the rack one slot lower than the middle. I was pulling the rack out to drizzle sauce on it and halfway out the rack fell out of the slot, luckily the ham was not on a higher slot or it would have dumped over. I did however get splattered with melted brown sugar and hit my hand against the side of the oven trying to get out of the way of the falling ham. The brown sugar and grease spilled onto the bottom of the oven smoked and burned! What a mess!

I really have had a very good experience with this dishwasher. I was always pleased with how well the dishes were clean. As long as I used a very good brand of dishwasher liquid and arranged the dishes in the washer so that nothing was covered up by another dish the dishes all came out very clean and spot free. The size of this washer was good for my family of 5. We didnt have to do much hand washing as we were always able to put most if not all the dishes into this washer to be washed. I love the color of this washer because it matched the colors of my other appliances. Black does not show a lot of stains. It just really blends well even with my cabinetry. It is very easy to wipe clean. The perceived value is that it is a good solid brand that is worth more than the money paid for it. It makes my life so much easier being that we do have a nice sized family and as much as I hate to do the dishes this really makes it easy for me to get the dishes done so it is more worth the money we paid for it.
