Kenmore Range Warranty
Kenmore Range Warranty

Kenmore Range Warranty

The Kenmore range warranty will depend on the specific model and purchase date of the range.

Typically, Kenmore ranges come with a one-year limited warranty that covers parts and labor for any defects or issues that may arise during normal use. Some models may have longer or more comprehensive warranties, so it's important to check the warranty information that came with the range or contact Kenmore customer service for more details.

Additionally, customers can purchase extended warranties or protection plans for their Kenmore ranges, which can provide additional coverage beyond the standard warranty period. These plans can cover things like accidental damage, power surges, and other issues that may not be covered by the standard warranty.

As with any warranty, it's important to read the terms and conditions carefully to understand what is and isn't covered, as well as any requirements for making a claim. If you have any questions or concerns about your Kenmore range warranty, it's best to contact Kenmore customer service for assistance.

Its not the best. It doesnt always get the dishes nice and clean. They dont always come out dry and I have never had a load of dishes come out without water spots on them. The size of the dishwasher is very good for the size of household that we have. We are a family of 4 and this dishwasher can hold 2 days worth of dishes in it. The appearance of this dishwasher is good. It can match into any basic kitchen that you put it in. It has a nice and clean look to the front of it. I have no clue what the retail value of this dishwasher is. Because my dishwasher was bought second hand and only cost my 25.00. I hope if I have to replace this one that the price is in a good price range.

My Kenmore range was purchased in 2010 and since then, the outside glass on the oven has blown out twice, once when the oven had not even been used. The most recent incident was Nov. 15, 2014. The oven made a loud popping noise then glass shot out everywhere. The model is 790-92803010. Sears was no help and refused to view this as a safety issue when this happened the first time in June of 2012, so I contacted the Better Business Bureau and was eventually reimbursed for the cost of new glass on the oven. How could this possibly happen again? I dont see a recall on this oven and suspect there is something wrong with the seal on the door. Thanksgiving is in less than two weeks and I have to cook for 15 people!! I am disgusted with the service and this product. Furthermore, the ice make is not working on my Kenmore Elite refrigerator.

Not satisfied with Kenmore products. I bought dishwasher, stove washer, and dryer from them. All my appliances have had issues. Thankful I bought outsource warranty company. Only they cannot cover refrigerator compressor. Said that it was covered by Sears. Now dealing with Sears warranty they want to charge 89.00 for service call. If they find more wrong they will charge me for the parts. Never will I buy from Sears ever again. When you call them you can barely understand what they are saying. They hung up on me because I want to talk with manager. After reading all the reviews I struggle what to do.

We bought the Sears Kenmore Elite double wall oven and the problem is that every time you cycle the oven through the clean cycle, the oven will not work. This has happened 3 times already where you have to pull the oven out of the wall (enclosure) and hit or replace the thermal switch to make the oven work. We have insurance through Consumers Power and they come out for the fix but there is definitely a serious design flaw with the oven. I called Sears and they said, the 1-yr. warranty is expired, and, have a nice day. We are never again purchasing from Sears.

My Kenmore oven smells like burning wires when I use it. I see other consumers have similar complaints against Sears. My local power company has also just installed Smart Meters and the meters are causing some consumer stoves to burn out electrically. Has anyone else had their Sears Kenmore appliances malfunction just when the meters came along?

Purchased the Kenmore Electric Range Model #790-94182310 in March of 2015. Used mostly the top, some baking but no more than 10 times a month. Babied this range! Wiped up any spills myself. However had a spillover and decided to do the first self-clean. Range is 1 year and 8 months old. The error code came on flashing F-10 on the display. I hit the off button but the F-10 continued to flash. Turned off electric supply at the breaker. Never had a ring or anything other than the F-10 to alert me. By the time it cooled, I had done the research for troubleshooting which was very helpful through YouTube by a Sears technician. We learned there was probably a temperature sensor problem. We also learned how to test it and the control panel. After removing the back panel, we discovered they both were heat-damaged. Part of the control panel was blackened by fire. The odor that I smelled and thought was the cleaning, was the plastic around the panel and the elements within the control panel. Called Sears - they offered to send a technician that would cost $89, then of course it would need the parts. Didnt bother finding out what that would cost. Did not buy the extended warranty. Who would have thought that the first time you self-cleaned an oven it would catch something on fire!!! Very unsatisfied. We are going to attempt to fix it ourselves but we do not intend to ever purchase Kenmore again. Loved my KitchenAid that I had for years and only got rid of it because it was black and I wanted to change to white. Needless to say, we are angry. Also said they could not find where there was a recall on the range. Gave me another to call which I will do. Now to hope for a recall which I feel is necessary!!! I have pictures but for some reason says file type not accepted???

My mother is a veteran of WWII but may be defeated by her Sears Kenmore oven. She has a model 790 in wall oven which is an obvious lemon. It will frequently fail to complete a cycle (shuts off before cooking is done) and has ruined several batches of food. The problem appears to be a computer control module. While I was there over the thanksgiving holiday it abruptly locked up (as though about to go into self clean mode) with the holiday turkey inside. Fortunately we were able to locate the plug and unplug the thing (which still did not unlock the oven, but at least the dinner was not incinerated). We were worried about a fire and are grateful that it did not happen while we were out of the room. She has had at least four failures in the last year, but since the problem is intermittent (only once was it still malfunctioning when the tech arrived) it cant be verified for warranty replacement. The available service calls are limited to two days a week by the company Sears contracted with, so almost impossible to get the problem solved. Calls to Sears for repairs are often unreturned. Parts are apparently hard to come by (the control module was replaced, for example, but the part was ordered in February, arrived in August). Really disappointed in Sears... I was raised as a Sears customer, but am alienated by the way they treated my mom and disgusted by the drop in reliability. Used to think I could count on them, but no more.

I purchased an expensive Kenmore Elite electric stove/oven in 2009 and have had many problems and have spent much money on repairs. Until recently I was unaware of the numerous complaints and lawsuits filed with similar issues. My top burner does not turn off, but remains on and on high. The burner has also turned on by itself when not being used. I have called with my concern for the safety of my family as I believe this to be a fire hazard. I believe this appliance should be recalled, but I have been told that my appliance does not have the model # of the ones that are recalled. We are waiting for another service member but in the meantime worry about the hazard this poses to my family! Sears has offered no help or concern as they believe my appliance is not one of the many recalled. I fear for the safety of my home and family.

Yesterday we had our Kenmore elite refrigerator repaired yet again. Ice maker issues again. Repairman put in a new ice maker that now only has 2 screws that hold it in whereas there used to be 5. Therefore when the water came in to the ice maker it didnt go into the cup/tray instead just spilling all over. He turned off the ice maker and told my wife to have me turn down the water pressure when I got home and left. The ice maker is not screwed at the top allowing it to tip away from the water line and making the water spill. If I turned down the pressure it would be worse. We spent $20,000 at sears in 7 years - craftsman rider and garage door openers, Kenmore fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove, washer, dryer. A treadmill and vacuum cleaner. All in 7 years. All Kenmore was elite series. Problems with fridge were almost immediate. We have a light fixture meltdown, complete freezer ice up, control board changes, several ice maker issues, water dispenser always slow then stopped working. Complete shut downs with error codes. Most of these I have fixed myself, including yesterday’s episode after he left us high and dry. Even had a wire break smack dab in the middle of the water dispenser door that we were told could not be fixed because the doors are sealed at the factory and cannot be opened up. How does a wire break inside of a sealed door unless it was damage when being installed? Said I would need a new $800 door. My wife and I managed to peel open enough of the door to see 2 wires that had very clear slice marks in them one being all the way through. We fixed them and the water dispenser worked like it had never worked before. Those 2 wires were cut during manufacture and hung on by a strand or two till finally letting go and then no more dispenser. Microwave tray would clunk and tip every time it went back and forth till I figured out the wheels were on the arm wrong and once I switched them it has been fine. Dishwasher needs to be run twice per load to get dishes clean. Stove works great. New washer sometimes stops mid cycle and says no H2O. Consumer reports says by Kenmore Elite. Well I will tell you they dont know crap. I have almost no Kenmore appliances that work without problems, spent about $9000 on them, none older than 7 years some as new as 1 year and I will never consider another. We used to buy everything at Sears including a Dyson vacuum (love it) and a Nordic track treadmill (very good) and all my craftsman hand tools over the last twenty five years. No more. I am done. They have done almost nothing to help us or to keep us as customers. When Sears finally goes out of business (been hurting for years) I am going to call the customer service center and laugh at them. Goodbye Sears and I hope you’re gone soon. Kenmore is trash!!!!!!! Sears does not like their customers, just their money. They got mine, for the last time.

Im very satisfied with its performance. I never really have an issue with stuck on food or cloudiness. It thoroughly cleans and sterilizes my dishes and it doesnt take hours either. Very good model for mid price range dishwasher. I have actually moved houses and the size of the dishwasher and location has been a perfect fit both times. I went from a very large kitchen to a much smaller one and it fit with no problem. I really would have liked a sleeker look but for the price and performance I am very satisfied. The white color doesnt stain or dirty either. Very, very, very happy with the performance I am getting for the dollar amount I paid. Excellent value. This is a very good brand and model for someone that is at my income level looking for a new dishwasher.

My 10 months old barely used not one spill caught on fire cooking Thanksgiving turkey. The fire was huge from turkey dripping a little. I thought it was an isolated incident. Three months later (I cleaned the oven and it was spotless), Paula Dean French toast casserole spilled and caused a huge scary smokey fire during a bridal luncheon. Sears has done nothing except charge me a service call to have 2 technicians come out and look at it. The bottom of the oven is melted. I am furious! Sears told me I should have purchased the extended warranty. (12 months old) My old oven lasted 28 years with 10 times the use! Sears wont do anything. Charged me 140 dollars to have 2 technicians come and stand there and look at it. They didnt remove or check anything

The range does not appear to come with a hood and fan system which would be helpful if they did offer those to go with it. I like that it comes in different colors. I purchased the double oven range in 2006. Since that time I have continued to experience problems with the main board electrical panel. It has continued to malfunction by going completely blank, beeping randomly, not allowing buttons to be pressed, turning off while in mid-cook and more issues of inconvenience. I have had service on my range performed by Sears-certified technicians several times and the issue continues to re-occur. Service dates and costs issues include: June 30th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced for a total cost of $413.12 August 27th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced. November 4th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced. December 10th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced and broiler burner fixed.Since that time I have continued to experience the same problem with the main board electrical panel. The range has again begun to malfunction to the point where it has become nearly inoperable. I have recently called Sears-certified technicians and was informed that there was nothing they could do and I would again need to pay $400-$500 for a service visit and part to repair the same issue again.Given the multiple issues with the same part, I feel there is a defect either with the parts or with my specific range that should be repaired or replaced without any additional costs from the consumer. I purchased a top of the line oven and have continued to experience the same problem even after multiple attempts of repair and additional money that has been put into a unit that should still be working properly.

I purchased a water heater from Sears in 2002 and it began leaking in 2008. That water heater had a 9 year warranty. I had it replaced with a Power Miser 12, with a 12 year warranty. This water heater is now leaking 7 years later. When I called to arrange a replacement, I was told that this warranty is no good since I did not pay extra when it was replace in 2008. I was never told this in all my phone calls to Sears in 2008 and during the horrific process I experienced, in 2008, where I had to find the plumber myself and make all the phone calls and arrangements myself since everything Sears was supposed to be doing and they were not.Now I am told there is no warranty on this Power Miser 12 which is 9 years old. I will never get another appliance from Sears again. In my conversation with the representative he just ended it with I hope the rest of your day goes better. If you are planning on buying a water heater, I suggest you run away from Sears. They are not the company they used to be. They just dont care anymore about reputation. I will be shopping for a new water heater from Home Depot or some big box store.

My wife was baking cookies in our Kenmore oven. Thankfully she, her friend, and both of our kids were not standing near it. All of a sudden, for no apparent reason, the glass on the oven door exploded violently sending pieces of glass flying up to 10 feet away from the oven. Fortunately, our kitchen island took the brunt of the explosion. We were amazed to find thousands of pieces of glass lying on our kitchen floor.

Kenmore Elite range model no 790-4101-3801 - This is the second time that my oven would not heat up past 100 after using my self-cleaning oven. My son also had problems with sears on his kenmore elite electric range. Everyone, from Sears to the CPSC appears to not care when we call to tell them that the range Door Shattered leaving glass all over the kitchen floor. He had it fix and it happen again. The first time the warranty covered it because it was not even six months old. The second time he paid to have it fix and it shattered a third time and he asked for them to replace the range and they offer a $50.00 dollar gift card that he could use to purchase a new range. He now has a range that the oven cannot be use because it is not safe without the outer glass. And I wonder how safe is my Range that the self-cleaning oven clause my oven not to warm up past 100 degrees... My range that my oven will not heat up more than 100 degree cost me $1741.00. My sons range that the oven door shattered 3 times cost $1850.00. They are both now 5 years old. Purchased a Kenmore Electric Range in March 2017. Last Monday night 11/06, while using the oven at 450 degrees, the glass in the oven door exploded and shattered. 3rd party technician arrived today for service appointment. Opened the door and confirmed the window was shattered (nice work genius) and informed me that it would take two additional weeks for the parts to arrive. In my opinion, if something this violent happens to a product, then I would say its defective. I want my defective stove to be replaced!I have spoke with exactly 10 Sears and Kenmore representatives today and have not received any assistance on the replacement of my defective stove. Even drove down to the store I purchased it from to seek some assistance... That was a useless waste of time! I have even had two representatives tell me that it usually takes seven or eight occurrences or service calls before they deem a product un-repairable and would consider replacing it. So... Kenmore and Sears would rather keep an appliance in service with risk to my family if the window decides to fully explode and shatter, rather than just replacing a range??? I have never experienced such a poor level of customer service as I have today. This is a perfect example of why the Sears Holding stock is only at $4.50 per share this morning and the fact that they are closing another 100+ stores. They treated me like I was some sort of thieve and all I was trying to do is replace a defective range to keep my family safe. What really blew me away!!! I told the last customer service person that Kenmore does NOT stand behind their quality or product! Freddies response was that Kenmore doesnt even produce or manufacture the ranges. They are made by Whirlpool and Kenmore slaps their brand name on the product. Freddie wasnt even fazed, almost like he didnt even care. Guess I wouldnt care either if I was working for a sinking ship!

My husband and I purchased a Sears Kenmore Stove 15 months ago. Starting in January we had problems with the electronics. We called and it took a repairman 3 weeks to evaluate the stove as he had no idea what was wrong with it. He ordered parts and we called to make another appt when the parts arrived. That took two weeks. He came to install the new parts and found out they were the wrong parts. Another two weeks went by and repairman came and installed new electronic system in stove. We had inquired about another stove but they refused and said this one could be fixed. Within an hour of him leaving the electronics went out again.Called and made another appt in two weeks time. He came out again and just rewired the original parts and from then on it seemed fine till tonight. We used the oven last night it was fine and came home today and the entire display on the stove is out. No lights to use the oven whatsoever. We had not taken the extended warranty because our parents had Kenmores for years. We are on a fixed income and do NOT have the money $90 service call and replacement parts of $360 - to spend on the stove. It would be more than we paid for the stove in the first place. I have tried every Sears # I can find and no one is willing to help me - they just say what do u want me to do. I want my stove fixed the right way and so it lasts.

After MORE Consumer Report Research (and you have to pay for this), for 2016 Microwave / Convection models, CR rated the Kenmore Elite 79080373310 an excellent unit out of the ones tested. I ordered it Thanksgiving morning, it was installed today 11/28. The convection oven does not reach temperature. Thinking the thermometers were bad, I went out and purchased a new one tonight. The Convection oven does not reach temperature. I called Sears (the Worst company to try and reach a department), after being transferred to the Philippines over and again, I was told a technician was schedule to come out on 12/12. Guess what, I am not waiting 2 weeks for a tech to come out to tell me the part is on back order. I want the unit exchanged immediately! What kind of junk is coming to consumers that we have to deal with this? They want me to wait 48 hrs to hear from the installation team.Updated on 12/19/2015: Continuation... Sears came out on 12/12 to replace the non working Kenmore Elite convection over the range unit. The installers did not re tape the exhaust vent and the vent air is being circulated through my cabinets. The new Kenmore Elite convection does NOT WORK! Once again hit 350/450 degrees (to check temp). Youre lucky if the temp gets to 300 degrees (yet the unit said it reached temp). I asked for a service tech to come out to verify that the oven was not getting to temp. Bob came out, tried to give me a line of bull that the electricity was not good but I immediately called an electrician who said The tech is trying to snow you. Dont believe him! Bob went on to say that the heating elements are located in the left rear causing uneven heating where the left will get done first and the right side would take more time. Bob went on to say that ALL the GEs and Kenmores he has worked on and as a matter of fact, all the new microwaves are NOT GETTING TO TEMP. He said most people use it to reheat, make popcorn, make a pizza. They dont bake/roast in it. Well my thinking this is FRAUD AND FALSE ADVERTISING as well as UNSAFE. Poultry, meats, etc. need to be cooked at a certain temp. If some inexperienced person follows a recipe... put in at 350, bake 25 minutes and takes it out to eat it, the poultry, meat will not be cooked because at 350 youd be lucky if the temp gets to 250. This is now my second Kenmore Elite and they are suppose to come out today between 1-5pm to install yet another 3 new Kenmore Elite. I am beside myself that Bob said all the GEs he installed in Monsey, NY are having the same problems. To me and my opinion, that means that the vendor who they purchased the heating elements is selling bad stuff. Where is quality control in the companies who are selling these products? In addition I feel that each time they remove/install, they are weakening the cabinets that the units are being installed in. Where does it stop? Who needs to take responsibility? There should be a recall on these and/or the companies need to send out a tech at their own expense to have the microwave/convection tested. To see that they reach temperature. This is UNSAFE for people wanting to bake or roast in the units.

We purchased the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range Model 790 in Nov. 2011
We purchased the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range Model 790 in Nov. 2011 & contrary to our usual approach, bought the 3-year extended warranty in part because the stove was expensive, being on sale for almost $1800. On Oct 30, 2014, the oven would not heat & a technician replaced the upper oven bake ignitor. Whew!...we thought. Lucky for us we had the extended warranty. But wait...on Feb. 9, 2015, with the extended warranty expired by about 2 1/2 months, the oven was turned on for use. While waiting for it to pre-heat, the oven started beeping wildly, then a terrible electrical burning smell flooded the house. My husband raced to the kitchen to see flames shooting out of the vents in the back. He managed to get the fire out and the gas turned off. The entire backside of wires was charred. We took photos & went to Sears where the Manager told us there was nothing he could do. He said it was up to the Service (1-800-4-MY HOME). We were incredulous that Sears does not have its own managers making these types of customer service decisions, but rather that the repair service to which they contact has that authority! I reminded him this was not a user error in that we did not set off a grease fire, but that the stove CAUGHT ON FIRE! We suggested that we thought Sears should take that very seriously, as a house fire could have resulted. He went on to repeat that Service would charge us to come out to verify & assess the damage & likely offer us no satisfaction. We previously bought appliances from Sears, but no longer. All our friends are incredulous that Sears is not replacing this stove.

I bought an electric slide in oven a few years ago, and ever since, the oven temperature does not run true. I had to purchase several oven thermometers to see what the correct temperature was. The MAIN issue that really scares me is the self-cleaning button is too easily activated and locks the oven door. It gets extremely hot and is extremely hard to shut it off. One time, we had to call a neighbor to help us pull the unit out to shut it off. I hate that the digital buttons are located in front so when I wipe anything down to clean it, it activates ALL of the features and I have to constantly push the stop button to cancel out the functions. The clock quit working also. I will never buy another Kenmore product after my experience with this oven.

It was perfect. I would buy another one if I could afford it. It kept everything cooled or frozen exactly how it should. It was HUGE. Lots of room for any size container. The places in the door were awesome. The drawers were big and roomy as well. The freezer side wasnt hampered by the ice maker either. I loved the stainless steel. Easy to clean. Shiny. Sexy. Much better than the typical textured outside of most refrigerators. Smooth. Lovely. It was priced perfectly. Mid-range. It was a scratch and dent model too so there was an additional discount which made it much more appealing to me and much more affordable.

I purchased a Kenmore Convection Range model 790.97453801 on 2/7/2009 for $1,000. Today, it takes 45 minutes for it to preheat to 350 degrees. We did not buy the extended warranty. I called Sears to schedule a repair and was told it costs $129 for a service call plus parts or I could purchase a 1-year warranty for $239 which would cover repairs and parts for 1 year and $500 towards a replacement in the case that it cant be repaired. The oven is less than 2 1/2 years old. :( This is the last Sears purchase we will make.

I purchased a Kenmore Gas Range Model 790.74419810 on September 6, 2019 from a local Sears store in Southern California as a gift for my niece. The appliance was not delivered to my niece until October 29, 2019. Just 29 days after having the appliance installed my niece was cooking Thanksgiving dinner on November 28, 2019 at 350 degrees when she heard a loud crash from the kitchen. She ran in the kitchen to discover that the inner oven door glass had shattered all over the inside of the range peppering Thanksgiving dinner with shards of hot glass. Her Thanksgiving dinner was completely ruined and the only thing she had to be thankful about was that her two year old son was nowhere near the shards of hot glass when the oven door glass shattered. After further research the day after Thanksgiving we learned that Sears has had this issue with Kenmore ranges ever since 2011 and numerous injuries have resulted over the past 8 years. Despite countless complaints to the CPSC Sears has chosen not to issue a recall nor take the affected model off the market. My wife and I attempted, on November 29, 2019, over the phone with the third party in India Sears has outsourced customer to, to acquire a refund for the obviously defective product but the only response we received was a technician would come out to verify that the glass had actually shattered. As a last resort to get some sort of satisfaction, my wife and I returned to the Sears store on Black Friday November 29, 2109 where we purchased the defective product and forced the store manager to pick up the defective range and refund our money. The Kenmore Gas Range Model 790 is a dangerous product that will soon severely injure someone. Sears is negligent and has with full knowledge continued to sell a dangerous and defective product and all the while focused on profit rather than safety. Please help save the public from this corporate greed.

This Kenmore model had high ratings on several websites including Consumer Reports. I did a lot of research and It was definitely the best rated refrigerator in my price range and it had received great reviews from people that already had one. Consumer Reports recommended it. I like the solid construction and that the handles were grips inside the doors instead of on the door where you feel like youll pull the door off. There were lots of drawers and room to organize everything and shelves were able to be rearranged for tall objects. Good constant temperature throughout and freezer never iced over. But Kenmore could make the freezer section larger and make just one shelf on the door. Too crowded with two and hard to fit items in there. Also, maybe add a shelf inside the main part of the freezer to separate meats from other stuff. Had an ice maker which was a nice feature but it always got stuck and was loud and could startle you out of sleep at night. Nevertheless, Kenmore was a great refrigerator and met and even exceeded my expectations. I would buy another Kenmore.

Last week, the oven door to my 2-year-old Kenmore range exploded - shattering and sending shards of glass across the kitchen. The range hadnt been used since the night before and I had turned the broiler to low, opened the door to slip food onto the rack, and was in the process of closing the door when the glass completely shattered. I called Sears, where I bought the blasted thing. They suggested I contact Kenmore, who suggested I contact Frigidaire, who referred me back to Kenmore. No one seemed concerned that I could have been hurt and that the range I purchased in good faith and based on a history of using Kenmore appliances couldnt be used. I do not have the money to trash this faulty range or I would. I can say, without hesitation, that I will never purchase an appliance from Sears or Kenmore again due to the lack of effective customer service over an obviously flawed design. I still havent had it fixed and am sickened every time I walk into my kitchen.

I have had the Kenmore range 7909622240B more than a couple years and this is the first time this has happened to me. I have a 254 pound ham on the rack one slot lower than the middle. I was pulling the rack out to drizzle sauce on it and halfway out the rack fell out of the slot, luckily the ham was not on a higher slot or it would have dumped over. I did however get splattered with melted brown sugar and hit my hand against the side of the oven trying to get out of the way of the falling ham. The brown sugar and grease spilled onto the bottom of the oven smoked and burned! What a mess!

Have no complaints and is good value for money. Doesnt spin loud like a lot of other washer and dryers. It just looks like any other average washer or dryer. It doesnt look horrible and comes with a wide range of choices such as colors, etc. Its not the cheapest brand but you get what you pay for. I would rather pay more and get a machine that I know works very well and is reliable.

Its durable, long lasting, and has more than enough space to fit anything in your freezer, fridge or what have you. Its sleek, interesting and reminded me of a futuristic type of refrigerator which indicates to me that the future of fridges is bright. I have no idea why the panel shorted out in the first place, so I have no idea if it is going to happen again. I bought the Kenmore front loader washer and dryer in burnt orange when we purchased our home. I LOVED them. They worked great for years. We did have a small issue with the vibration and it was loud. We did have an issue with mold, but we bought the special cleaning tabs and kept the door open when not in use. Well, the dryer started going first... not drying well. I would run the dryer 3 times to dry one load. Then the washer went. Door lock would hold laundry hostage... cycles stopping. Kenmore microwave oven purchased June 16, 2013. Also purchased 2 year extended service agreement. Yesterday, just about 1 year AFTER the extended service agreement expired the oven malfunctioned. When the door is opened to place food inside, the glass tray begins to rotate all by itself, even before any cooking selection is made on the touch pad. There is also the sound of the fan running but the oven itself is off. Once the door is closed, it stops. After food cooks, I open the door to take out food and the glass tray and fan do the same thing. Tried unplugging the unit to see if that would reset it, didnt work. Still malfunctions. This is more Chinese junk with the Kenmore name! Sears makes huge profits by cheating its loyal customers and almost forcing us to purchase expensive service contracts. Ive been a Sears customer since 1992; now that will end. By the time I pay for repair of the 3 year old microwave, it would cost much more than the $160, that included the 2 year service agreement. You cant simply throw it away or place it in the recycle bin. Its only 3 years old! The Panasonic oven it replaced was 23 years old! What does that tell you about the quality of Kenmore products? We are making the Chinese rich while WE are forced to keep buying inferior products made by them.

My 40 stainless steel Elite Kenmore range/glass top looks impressive on first notice. But the design of the rim around the top has caused it to get really scratched in a short period of time (1 year). The drawer below the ovens is very flimsy. The digital oven works great. But the smaller analog ovens thermostat can never be relied on. I love the five burners on the cooktop, two of them having the capability to be two different sizes. I am unhappy with the stainless steel finish... Very hard to clean without streaks. Ive tried everything! I needed the 40 size because I live in a 1960s house that requires 40 stove, or a lot of cabinet rehab. I thought the price was too high. But there are very few ranges available in that size.

The range that I had bought only lasted 8 years. The self cleaning oven ruined my range. That is what the repairman told me. I bought the one year service agreement, so when Sears could not fix the range, I got $500.00 toward a new one. That money was meaningless when we went into the store to buy a new one. When the installer that is contracted out by Sears installed my new range, he talked me into buying a new plug for $50.00, and then left the box that the new range came in for me to dispose of in my trash. He did take the old range, and said he would dispose of it by scraping it. They usually get about $25.00 for scrap. Most of my Sears appliances have needed repair work within the first two years. So I do advise getting the extended warranties. The quality of Sears appliances are not that great. But you get what you pay for!

Yesterday morning while my daughter was sitting in her living room the house started to fill with smoke. She went into the kitchen and found smoke billowing out of her electric oven which was not turned on. She got her husband up and he quickly got the stove disconnected and pulled it outside. Later that day they called Sears to send a technician to check out the stove. The technician wrote in his report that the cause of the fire was food that was in the oven. The food was leftover pizza and french fries from the night before. The stove was shut off and not in use, but it heated up by itself. I believe the cause was an electrical short (defect) that caused the oven to heat up and catch fire. The stove was purchased 4/24/2012 and I bought a 5-year warranty on it. Because of what the technician told them, Sears will not honor their warranty.

After replacing my Kenmore Elite slide in oven/stove because it was a lemon with too many issues to enumerate, I foolishly choose the next generation thinking it was improved. This stove cannot maintain a temperature for more than 10 minutes before it begins a preheat function and it begins to try to come to temp by firing up the top and/or bottom heating elements effectively ruining any delicate baked goods like cookies or cakes. I will never ever buy a Kenmore product again. In addition even though they market a five element stove top, if you have 2 elements on high and the oven on, the entire unit blows the breakers and fuses (and it is not our wiring/breakers that are malfunctioning). I purchased a Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range in November 2011. I also bought an extended warranty. When the range was about 3 yr old the bottom oven failed to heat. It was repaired. Then this past October 2016, the bottom oven wouldnt heat. November 23rd it was repaired. I extended the warranty because with two repairs I wasnt confident with the range. Then on December 20th, I was using the top oven at 400 degrees, and everything was fine. I then turned on the bottom range at 350 degrees, and noticed it wasnt heating after about ten minutes. I opened the oven to see if it was hot. A ball of flames came out at me. I burnt my eyebrows and a good part of my hair. Luckily I was able to shut out any flames on me, and I closed the oven and shut it off.I called Sears the next morning, rather shaken to report what I consider a safety issue. They scheduled a service call so a technician could access the problem. I told them I didnt want it repaired, only replaced. I got a bit of a runaround. They first came quickly then ordered parts. Sears says it is repairable. They scheduled me for Jan 5th, and I waited all day and no one showed. Today, someone came. I said I didnt want it fixed. The service man called his supervisor, then Sears directly called me, and said as part of the process I must have it repaired then file a complaint. When I called they said I should have refused the repair, because now it is deemed in working order. I said I dont feel safe after my ordeal. The supervisor at customer service said even if I had a brand new stove, no one could guarantee my safety. Talk about confidence inspiring. I let them know I wasnt pleased with that. They then offered me a $630 credit towards a new stove. I paid $2,300. I didnt accept yet, because I dont know if I should.

Kenmore doesnt cost too much more than the older dishwashers did that are very loud. It was worth the upgrade because of how quiet it runs and how nice it looks. It is also easy to keep clean and the stainless-steel surface doesnt smudge too badly. It blends in well with the other appliances and looks good. Once you use it a few times, you can figure out how to arrange it so that a full sink of dishes all fit. The top shelf doesnt have as much room as it should. I wanted to buy a new oven for my 88 year old mother who lives in a mobile home. There was only one model, Kenmore 24inch, white, gas model that fit her space. This oven was bought site unseen as there were no floor models available. Installed and with all the extra charges the cost was $1600. The oven itself was 1499.00. I live in another area so upon visiting my mother and seeing the new oven which has absolutely NO BELLS OR WHISTLES. This is a basic on off oven and broiler. OH it does have a clock... What a piece of garbage!!! The design is stupid with broiler in a bottom drawer, its barely hot enough on HI to broil anything, the door corners were chipped, the oven glass steams up when using the broiler, the temperature gauge is way off in the oven, the installation looks cheap and incomplete. If I had seen all of this within the 30 day return period this oven would be returned... But my only recourse now is to inform anyone who might be considering this oven to consider that the only pro...is that it is cheap in every way!

My Kenmore Self-Cleaning range is 5 years old, and about two years ago, I noticed the oven racks were falling out of the groves. The oven box seems to have bowed out and the racks fall out and do not fit anymore. I assumed Sears would take responsibility for this as this should never happen. When I brought the problem to them, they said I must buy new racks costing about $150.00 and that there was no recall on this problem. I think this is unfair and irresponsible on the part of Sears to not recall these ranges or at the very least, replace at no charge the racks.I have been a faithful Kenmore customer for over 30 years, but I will never buy another Kenmore appliance or any appliance from Sears again unless they do the right thing and correct this problem. Without proper fitting racks, the oven is virtually unusable, not to mention a safety hazard as hot items placed on the racks can cause injury when the racks fall out of the groves. Large enough to get a big load of clothes dried completely in one attempt. Never had a problem with the dryer. Gets hot enough to dry clothes but doesnt drain electricity. Can count on my dryer to work well every time and its never disappointed me. Highly recommend this dryer! It goes with any color decor. Isnt so big that it takes up too much space. Large enough to get the job done. It fits well in my laundry room with plenty of space for laundry supplies, cleaning and pet supplies. Its worth every penny. You get what you pay for. Cheaper dryers are out there but when they break down and require costly repairs, youll wish you had gotten a quality dryer like mine.

I furnished a new house with all Kenmore Elite appliances in October 2010: Washer/Dryer, Central Vac, Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher. All have had issues and repairs except for the dishwasher which is rarely used. Most recent, the oven door simply exploded on its own. This is when you have to wonder about a companys credibility when selling such junk. Wheres the consumer protection when product like this can cause bodily injuries? I would never buy anything from Sears again. Its time to cut up my Sears card.

Kenmore glass top electric stove model 790 purchased 2011 - I used the broiler to cook a burger. When it was done, I turned off the oven and left the door ajar. After 15 minutes I heard the oven door fall off, first one side then the other. While screwing the handle screw back on, the whole tempered glass oven window exploded. Thank goodness I had glasses on, a thick shirt, pants and socks or I would have been cut up. My little dog was just behind me but I blocked the flying glass that flew onto counters and into the next room. When I checked the model no. online I found out that so many of this model have had the glass door explode, that pressure was put on Sears to recall this model. Those who got new glass doors had them explode again and some people had them explode a third time. Also luckily the oven had cooled down when it exploded but many people had hot glass shot at them. This model shouldnt even be on a showroom anymore.

Purchased a ceramic top Kenmore stove in July 2011. Model #790-92303012. Worked fine until 1/31/2015. Preheated the oven to 350 degrees to bake a pizza. The top surface of the stove was not in use. The pizza had been in the stove for 2 or 3 minutes when the stove began to make screeching noises. The control panel completely lit up, then most of it went dark and smoke began to curl up from the back of the stove. Flames shot up from the back but quickly died away, however the smoke grew more intense.I was able to quickly jerk the stove away from the wall and pull the plug, killing the power. Noticed as I did so that the electrical wires inside the back panel (visible through the slots in the back) were glowing orange. There was smoke damage to the wall behind the stove and the kitchen and half the house had that electrical fire smell - which lingered for a few days. With the power gone and the fuel source (the insulation of the wires) consumed the fire was contained. The stove was obviously shot.Contacted Sears that evening and was given a number to call and was eventually given a claim number. Everyone connected with Sears has been polite but so far there has been no meaningful response, and it is doubtful they will accept any responsibility. Too bad, we have been loyal customers owning a Kenmore refrigerator and a Kenmore Elite microwave. We are fortunate that our homeowners insurance will assist with the purchase of a replacement stove. But Sears Kenmore has a major engineering defect that is inexcusable. After reading comments from other unsatisfied customers there are numerous and more serious hazards connected with Kenmore products. I would not feel safe purchasing a Kenmore stove as a replacement and could not recommend them to anyone.

Apparently my problem of the oven racks falling is quite common with Kenmore Elite ovens because the walls are too thin. If this is a design flaw or intentional to generated more revenue, we will not know unless the government gets involved and requires a recall. This was the answer I got after several days of the run around with Sears saying it is a Kenmore problem and Kenmore telling me they are owned by Sears and it is a Sears problem. All the while denying there is even a problem and the only way they would acknowledge the problem is if the government had enough complaints. This is a $500.00 fix and they use the same defective walls to replace the existing. Im completely exasperated and hope this complaint will add to the many I have seen and something will be done. It is a Safety issue most of all and people can easily get burned with falling hot racks.

Kenmore oven Model 790.9745 - We purchased our house in July 2014 and didnt notice at the time that the front glass of the oven was missing. We ordered a new glass front, installed it and a few months later, the front glass exploded and went all over the kitchen. Then we realized that must have been why the glass was missing when we bought the house. We replaced the glass again and the other day the same thing happened. Three times in three years. Each time someone was standing near the oven while it was baking at 350 degrees when the glass exploded. We were lucky no one got hurt.It was unusual that the dogs or kids werent in the kitchen with us at the time as they usually are! In addition to the glass exploding three times that we know of, the control panel had a F-10 error which is run away temperature. The smoke detectors went off in the house to alert us to that problem due to the extreme heat coming from the oven. This oven needs to be recalled. It seems like this is a problem many people have had in reading the reviews!

We purchased a Kenmore Elite 24 cu.ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator model# 7
We purchased a Kenmore Elite 24 cu.ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator model# 78043 in Feb 2015 and installed it in late April 2015 for our new kitchen renovation. We loved the appearance of the unit and the space available inside. We had been noticing for the past 3 or 4 weeks that our food was going bad and an unusual odor inside. At first, we thought we had just purchased some out of date food. We placed boxes of baking soda inside for the odor. We installed a refrigerator thermometer inside both compartments and began monitoring the temperatures. The temp range in the fridge was 43-54 degrees and the freezer was 6-20 degrees even though the settings were at the recommended 0 and 37.Please be aware if you purchase this unit that the display only shows the setting temps, not the actual temps. Two months after being put into service, this unit has stopped cooling the refrigerator/freezer compartments adequately. In the end, all of our food had to be discarded. Initially, Sears service suggested they would replace the defective unit because it was so new, then said we had to schedule a service call 22 days from now. We purchased this item based primarily on the Kenmore name. That was obviously a mistake.Updated on 08/19/2015: This is an update to our previous review of the fridge we purchased from Sears. The service tech finally arrived on Aug 4 after our original appt was re-scheduled for a week later. He ordered the parts which were delivered the next day. The appt for install was Aug 19. Sears called yet again to reschedule for Sept 1. In the meantime, we discovered the part they sent was the wrong part. We called today to hopefully get the right part before the rescheduled Sept 1 appointment.

Kenmore washer set is a very good product to use. Doesnt take long to get the job done and it has a great spin cycle. I would recommend it to any customer that is looking to purchase a new washer set. They were able to deliver it on time. It comes with a warranty and offers a great deal of thing. Its comes as new and out of 4 month I never encountered a problem with it so I would recommend this product to any customer that is looking to purchase. When it arrives it was brand new. It had no marks no scratches on i. All the knob were and still are working properly. It was very well in my price range of things to choose and I really like how they gave me a discount consider information I was the new customer. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking to buy it.

I have a double oven and its great except one thing, the side oven is so small that really nothing fits inside to bake. You have to order special size pans AMD lets face it, no one wants to go out of their way to do that let alone bake a tiny one person cake or 4 small rolls. I dont want to take away from regular oven but I believe the tiny baby oven should be an inch to two inches bigger at least to put regular size pans even if its for warming.

The 25 cubic foot size of the refrigerator gave plenty of room. Also, the water and ice dispenser was a great addition to the fridge. Moreover, the stainless steel finish went well with the range and dishwasher in the kitchen which were all Kenmore and look fantastic. Their appliances are reliable and a good value.

I recently noticed rust around the bleach dispenser of my Kenmore top loading washer Mod 796 2900 2000. I called Sears and was told to call the Rework department at 1-800-659-7026. I spoke to several folks to include John, Jose and Paul (no last name or employee number was given) and 2 out of three said there was a RECALL on this model number and one said there was not. The final person that I spoke to said there was a recall and actually scheduled a technician to come out and service my machine. I asked specifically, since this is under a recall I do not have to pay the service charge right? and I was told, that is correct. When the tech called to tell me he was coming he said he would have to charge me because this was not a covered call. I then called 1800-549-4505 and spoke to Zack. He told me that it is not a recall but a Service Flash (SF26-813). I was told that the Service flash covered the parts and all I was responsible for was the trip charge of $85-$89 and if you are given any problems have them call to this number (1800-469-4663) and reference the SF number. The tech called me back and again said he verified and was told that this was not covered and that I would have to be charged. I asked for their departments number so I can have the dept. that I spoke to talk to their dept. but they would not give the number. I called the 800-469-4663 and spoke to Anna (employee number **) and she said that she read off the notes from the last phone call that my washer was not covered because of the serial number range. So basically, Sears personnel are not all trained the same (leadership/management problem), because of this Sears/Kenmore wouldnt take care of a defective product that they sold me for a large amount of money. Granted, it is not under warranty any more but I thought the company would take care of a defective problem regardless because of their name and reputation. It probably would have been cheaper to fix a problem at somewhere around $200-$400 than to lose all the customers that this event is going to cause. I have made numerous phone calls to see if Sears/Kenmore would address this problem but to no avail. If you are considering buying a Kenmore appliance of any kind please do research beforehand and reconsider.

We wanted a conduction stove/oven and after looking at more than 73 different brands and models we went with the Kenmore Elite. It has 2 ovens, which is great when you need to make more than one dish, the only 2 problems I have with it. Neither oven is big enough to stand a spiral ham up (20 lb turkey fit okay) and you cant use foil (that is how I was taught to cook turkey). We also love the options to lock both ovens and cooktops to prevent accidental turn on. The stovetop with the large burner (3 different size elements) comes in handy and the middle back with flex heating.

Refrigerator had enough room for our weekly groceries. The shelves can be moved easily to create the right size storage of larger items like milk and juice. Temperature stayed constant - did not have some food frozen in section that was not the freezer, as I have had with other refrigerators. The size of the refrigerator was efficient. Milk, Juice, and soft drinks all fit comfortably. In the doors there was enough room for all condiments and bottles of water. It was black, which is a color I like. Doesnt show fingerprints easy. It was easy to wipe clean. It fit in designated area for refrigerator and looked nice with other appliances. This refrigerator was a gift from parents to replace refrigerator that electrical surge ruined. The price was in range of what other similar refrigerators were priced. Delivery was free at store it was bought from. It was also installed free. It was a good price for the size and features.

I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago with no response, so I contacted Kenmore yesterday regarding the self-cleaning of the gas range which left spots on the bottom of my oven. I did everything the manual stated to do and also took out the racks and self cleaned them myself. The representative on the phone told me to put a hot cloth with white vinegar over the area, and then I may have to rub the area, if that didnt work to take a razor blade and lightly go over area and the spots would be removed. After trying both methods neither worked. I phoned again and another representative told me she could have a tech come out the following day but it would cost me $75.00 or $39.00 a month to cover all appliances in the house. I told her absolutely not and informed her that I would not be purchasing anymore Kenmore products. Then out of curiosity I wondered how much the part would cost just to replace it and after researching on the internet the part was $60.00. So therefore I would have had a tech come out for $75.00 then probably charge me at least $100.00 for the part and to replace it, what a rip-off. Other customers please do research before falling for this scam.

Kenmore Elite Range - Today is 12 March. My wife came home and the House was full of smoke from the stove being on high. I had cooked some Cabbage for my wife around 11:00am. I left to go to work around 2pm and left the burner on the lowest setting which was Low setting to keep the cabbage warm. She came home around 6:30pm and the Fire alarm was going off and the house was full of smoke. She tried to turn the burner off with no luck. She had to go and turn the breaker off for the range. I came home at 10:00pm and went and turned the breaker back on and the front right burner where the pot was on and it was on high again. I played with all the switches with no luck at all. I had the main circuit board changed not even a month ago by a service tech. He told me that it controls all the switches for the top and also the oven section. I had to go and turn the main breaker off again.. THIS ALMOST COST ME MY HOUSE. FOR FOLKS READING THIS, BUYER BEWARE... I will not purchase another Sears product!!!

3 days ago, March 29, 2013, I was using my range to cook bacon. I had it set at 375 degrees and had just checked the bacon and determined it had another 7-10 minutes to cook. I left the room for a few minutes, and after about 5 minutes, I could hear a beeping. My husband asked me if I wanted him to shut off the timer, but I said, I didnt set the timer. The stove kept beeping non-stop, so I returned directly to the kitchen only to see “F10 - ERR” on the touch screen. I opened the oven and smoke poured out. I quickly closed the door and my husband ran downstairs to shut the breaker because nothing I could do would stop the beeping. With the stove shut off at the breaker, I opened it and took out my burned bacon; and the room was filled with smoke. After doing some research online, it appears that the error means that the heat is considered to be runaway and at a dangerous level! Are you kidding me? I would like to know how long Sears has known about this issue, and why they have not informed people about this problem. What if I had a roast in the oven and had gone outdoors to do some work? This will be the 6th issue I have had with this range. So far, the brain was fixed once then replaced; the triple burner had to be replaced as did the whole glass top. The last item was the door as it warped and stained during a regular cleaning. I do not trust this range anymore and want it replaced. It is a lemon! It is unsafe and at this point, I am afraid to even turn the breaker on. Sears needs to step up to the plate and stand behind a very expensive range. This range broke down within 3 weeks of delivery to me and then again a few months later. It has been nothing but one thing after the other and I am done with allowing it to be repaired. It is a fire hazard! God forbid my new home would burn down due to Sears not replacing this lemon they have sold to me. It is time to replace it or give me my money back. I will never buy a Kenmore product again! Ever!

The appearance is sleek, innovative, and modern. It goes well with the interior of my home as well as the dryer that I own. I couldnt ask for a dryer that looks any different. The value is what you pay for, and in this case its well worth the price. It falls into a good range and is inexpensive compared to other washers.

My parents bought Kenmore fridges and I continue this practice because they recommended this brand. I had purchased two other refrigerators and liked Kenmore better. I really did like the size and the design of the fridge. I liked the versatile way you could arrange shelving the way you liked. Easy to store products and has lots of storage space in doors too. You could put beverages in the door if you chose to or put them on shelves. I like arranging the placement of products in fridge myself. I also liked temperature control in the very front of fridge as well as the placement of the butter dish and a designated space for my eggs. I liked the ice maker, glass shelves, crisper and frost-free freezer. It had air holes and I could manage the door handles. I also liked the color and that it was well lit and insulated. Added water purifier made plenty of ice. It kept food cold and did not sweat. There were no coils exposed on the back making it easy to clean. However, fridge was a disappointment. The top crisper broke many times and had to repeatedly replace it. The door holders kept breaking and the bottom ledge cracked too. The material it was made is not strong and parts were expensive. The plastic used inside the refrigerator was a wrong choice. There was also a pattern on door handles that grabbed dirt. You had to constantly clean the handles. I would like wheels on fridge so I could easily clean behind and under it.

Purchased Sears Kenmore Elite refrigerator in January of 2013. We had a problem with the water line in January. The tech fixed the problem in February after the part arrived. Next we started having problems with the water dispenser. The dispenser would freeze not allowing us to get any water. We scheduled another repair which took about 3 weeks. The tech came 1 hour 45 minutes late with an 18-year old girl whom he said was his daughter. The tech worked on the refrigerator and left. By the time he got to the end of the driveway the refrigerator was not working again. I called for another service appt. and was scheduled for 2 weeks later. The same repairman arrived on time with the same 18-year old girl. The tech worked on the refrigerator and said he had the temperature as low as it could go and fixed the water dispenser. I was told not to keep the milk at the top of the refrigerator because it was freezing. 2 days after the repairman left the water dispenser was not working again. We were also experiencing things at the top of the refrigerator freezing. Service was called again and about 3 weeks later a tech arrived on time to repair the water dispenser. This time the tech used our hair dryer to unthaw a pipe at the bottom of the refrigerator behind the crisp bins. The tech said that we needed to keep food items away from the walls of the refrigerator and away from the sensor. The tech arranged the items in the refrigerator to help us out. One day after he left the same problem reoccurred. Service was called again and was scheduled 3 weeks later. We are waiting for February 11th to see the outcome of this repair. Someone has to take off work each time we need service. This has been a nightmare! Each time you call service you are transferred and placed on hold for one half hour at a time.

I bought a Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator (Model 10651139214) 33 months ago, less than three years from SEARS. All lights stopped working, all at once. I called the number on the manual and was told that someone could be scheduled to diagnose the problem for a fee of $149 and also that my refrigerator had only a one year warranty and I did not pay extra for extended service. I scheduled the appointment reluctantly. I had a local, and trusted for years, repairman come to take a look. He checked everything and related to the lights, looking at the tech sheet and online. It is determined that the part that is needed is $215 just for the part and it is on backorder with no projected date of arrival. My repairman also said that this specific refrigerator has a Tech Service Alert attached to it, meaning several people have had the same problem. BUT Kenmore does NOT back up their product. What ever happened to good companies backing up what they sell? I will never purchase a Kenmore product again. My purchase from SEARS this time included this refrigerator, a flat top stove and range hood and a dishwasher. The Samsung (another review I left here) stove had issues within the first two weeks and I was told that the stovetop wearing through in two weeks is considered a blemish and isnt covered.

I am writing for my friend Hunaida ** (phone **). She has just discovered, after several years of repeated calls and visits by the local gas company, about her stove! The stove is/has been listed on a recall. She is frantic with fear. She never received any letters or calls. What if it should explode! What can she do to protect and get a new stove? Sears says, “Sorry, lady, the time has run out! We cant do anything for you.” The stove does not work right.

We have been pleased with our refrigerators performance – it has been reliable and efficient. We have plenty of room in the fridge and freezer and we like that we can rearrange the shelves if needed. We are able to fit everything we need in the fridge. There is a lot of usable space on the door too. We like the overall appearance of our refrigerator – the stainless steel finish matches our other appliances and makes the kitchen look nicer and less dated than it did. Large appliances are expensive but, in this case, we felt like it was a good investment because its a brand that we trust and have had good experience with in the past.

Our Kenmore (aka Whirlpool) front load washer, model C4810, purchased July 2010 requires a nearly $400 computer replacement. Sears charges $84 (with tax) to have a technician tell us it will require a $400 repair, then very generously offers us a $75 coupon toward a new washer ($1,000 or over). What a slap in the face this offer is! Especially after purchasing four major appliances from Sears three years ago (along with numerous items since). Our gas stove (Kenmore) and refrigerator (Whirlpool) are starting to show many issues as well. I cant understand how Kenmore/Whirlpool can be top rated in Consumers Reports and etc. They can have their coupon. Ill go with a domestically made lesser known washer this time around. Same for the other appliances when they go.

I just bought a coop two months that had been renovated and the kitchen has Kenmore appliances. Dishwasher and refrigerator seem fine, but the gas range (model number 790.7050 or 7060) runs super-hot. I first noticed that the French fries cooking at 450 degrees really came out as crispy critters, so I turned the oven down about 50 degrees and its better. The real problem is that the oven is so hot that I have to run both the vent on high and a fan in order to cook something on the stove top at the same time. Ive never had this problem with any other gas range Ive had (Im 62) so its really puzzling. Now that Ive read the other comments about the ovens, I will be super careful and am considering just getting another gas range. I think this is the way this thing is designed. Even at the lower oven heat, the temperature in the kitchen is unbearable. This is from someone who hardly uses air conditioning in the summer. Anyone else have this experience?

Controls are not confusing and are easy to understand. There are enough settings for all my needs and uses. Unit is just the right size for the over the stove use and easy to reach. It is easy to clean, the tray is a good quality glass and not too heavy.
