I bought this refrigerator in December 2012, along with a gas range which has been serviced, already, too. The refrigerator door will not close and the thermostat went out. I always get the extended warranty. My parents taught me that. They have not had to buy a TV in over 20 years due to extended warranties. When parts arent available, new. The door, per the repairman was not covered under the warranty because our abuse caused it. HELLO!! I was sitting at the dining room table and I saw the light shining. Thinking someone had forgotten to close the door, I closed it. I could hear the seal and it popped open again. IT’S NEW!! Why should a thermostat go out on a new refrigerator or the door not shut or stay shut!!! Whats worse, we have always bought Sears appliances. When I married 40 years ago, my parents gave us their old Coldspot from Sears and it was over 20 years old then. We kept it until we out grew it family wise and bought our own and kept it over 20 years, a Kenmore. Now, this. I am angry and thoroughly disgusted with what has happened to a haloed name. WE SHUT THE DOOR TOO HARD!!?? The Coldspot still works.

Oven self-cleaning has discolored the top edge of the oven door and caused the edge to ripple. Also, it has discolored at the left top from the vent outlet. Sears will do nothing about this and wanted $80.00 to have someone look at it (like maybe we were not telling the Truth). Our complaint is with the Kenmore stove and with Sears review of the problem by doing Nothing. We will not be buying from Sears again, not even a rocking chair.

Kenmore Range Model 790.94452701 - The control board burned up 3 times in 7 years. We were afraid to leave the oven on and go outside for fear of the house burning down. Two times when it burned up it caused the oven to heat well over 500 degrees. Each time it burned up there were burnt wires and smoke. Replacing the board is easy, but not cheap and very inconvenient. We decided to purchase a new range rather than fix our Kenmore for the fourth time. Suffice to say it isnt a Kenmore.

I bought a Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator (Model 10651139214) 33 months ago, less than three years from SEARS. All lights stopped working, all at once. I called the number on the manual and was told that someone could be scheduled to diagnose the problem for a fee of $149 and also that my refrigerator had only a one year warranty and I did not pay extra for extended service. I scheduled the appointment reluctantly. I had a local, and trusted for years, repairman come to take a look. He checked everything and related to the lights, looking at the tech sheet and online. It is determined that the part that is needed is $215 just for the part and it is on backorder with no projected date of arrival. My repairman also said that this specific refrigerator has a Tech Service Alert attached to it, meaning several people have had the same problem. BUT Kenmore does NOT back up their product. What ever happened to good companies backing up what they sell? I will never purchase a Kenmore product again. My purchase from SEARS this time included this refrigerator, a flat top stove and range hood and a dishwasher. The Samsung (another review I left here) stove had issues within the first two weeks and I was told that the stovetop wearing through in two weeks is considered a blemish and isnt covered.

About 4 years ago, my wife and I bought 6 new Kenmore products for our new home including a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator and a washer and dryer. All of these products have failed. The oven will no longer bake. The microwave when turned on has a lighting show in the side which I feel is very unsafe. The dishwasher coating has come off the racks and they are rusting badly. The dryer door will not latch because its broken and the start button has broken too. The washer leaks and keeps stopping in the middle of a cycle and flashing a code for some problem. And last but not the least, the fridges filter leaks. We have tried to contact Kenmore and no one will talk to us or help, and dealing with Sears is just a joke! My wife and I spent very good money on these products and dont feel we should have to replace them 4 years later or have to repair them. They are all Kenmore Elite products and for the money we spent, we think the company should stand behind their products and workmanship. Even a call back or just a response would be nice, but I guess this is a company where once they get your money theyre done with you. If theres any way someone could help us, that would be great. We just want to be able to cook and do laundry again like people with working appliances do. Thank you for your time.

We have a 5 and 1/2 month old new home with all new appliances and this Kenmore microwave oven went out five weeks later. It took five weeks to get them out for repairs. It went out again in five weeks. He put everything new in that he thought would make it work. Now about five weeks later, it quit working again. Almost three weeks later, they will be back. We are using an Emerson oven from Wal-Mart we have had for years. There is only two people living in this house. I am 72 and my wife is 70. We are very careful and use our appliances with care. This is our first new home and have bought from Sears for years. We are very, very disappointed in this handling and oven. Could you please give us the service we have given you over the years? We are Christian people who expects the same service as we have given. It is apparent that this is a lemon oven and we expect your cooperation in this matter. We are very disgusted in the oven. I purchased a Kenmore elite microwave three years ago. Model # 790-80373310. I only use my condo four months per year. So the unit is hardly used. It is an over the oven hooded convection as well. Problem is (could turn out to be a fire hazard) the microwave does not count down the seconds nor does it respond to stop or any other command. It just keeps on going. Sears response is that they would send someone for 249$ to look at it. I would like to know if I should report this to Safer Products Recall or if anyone has had a similar problem.

My Kenmore Self Cleaning Oven is just over 30 days old and recently used the self cleaning option. I used the 2 hour option since it was a minor splatter on the oven floor. After the cool down and the door released, I noticed two burn marks on the top of the oven door. I did everything the manual instructed including removing the grates, racks and wiping all services before starting the process. I called Sears and they said it was a cosmetic issue and is not covered under the warranty. I think its a door gasket problem, but they said no. I told the service dept I was very dissatisfied that they would not stand behind their product. All he said was Sorry.

I spent two hours trying to talk with someone that would help me find out if there is a recall on my range. The outside glass of my oven shattered in the middle of the night. Luckily no one was near the range. I had glass everywhere. I did notice on this site that there was a similar case on Aug 2, 2016, so I wanted to talk with someone to investigate this problem. After spending much time trying to talk to a real person then finally talking with a person that wanted to send a technician to diagnose what my range needed and the cost to have a technician come to my home would start at $89.00, I gave up and just ordered the glass. I am very worried that this has happened more than two times and someone could seriously get hurt.

I purchased a complete line of Kenmore Elite products to furnish my new house in September 2010. Fast forward 1.5 years later, the indoor ice maker stopped working. I lived without ice for a while until I could find a good time to get a repairman out from Sears to fix it (2013). Now, the seals on the doors collect condensation and seem to build up a residue, special. Last night, I was surprised to have the exterior glass of my oven explode on to me whilst baking at 400. 400.... pretty average baking temp, nothing thrown at the oven, dropped on it, smacked to it, nothing. Just a surprise explosion and a cut to the shin from the tempered glass flying at me.

That it would cost over $1000.00 to fix. I called Kenmore and got nowhere with them. I called Deawoo and they also would do nothing about it. I now own a $1900.00 piece of junk. I will never and recommend no one ever buy anything Kenmore as it is not made in States and only has a 1 year warranty. They are junk. Nothing like when I was a kid and everything in the house was Kenmore. Worst thing I have ever bought. I will no longer buy, go to, ok deal with Sears or Kenmore ever again with anything. I am now selling my riding lawn mower, kitchen stove, washer and dryer before they break and I have more junk to find a way to get rid of.

I had the original Maytag Gemini double oven range. I have now had the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Range for 2+ years. The new range is far superior. Of course the double ovens being the same size is a great help. Overall, the technology of the Kenmore range is fabulous. I have one main concern, though.... why dont they poll people that own these expensive appliances and ask us what features we want, need or desire? The timer on this range drives me INSANE! Its non-stop, and could seriously wake the dead. I know there is no way to make my second need happen, but, the bottom oven opens onto the floor..... very hard to lift something heavy in and out. Overall, though, this range is far superior to the Gemini.

However most food that you buy for the microwave directions, usually state 1100 watt ovens. The food doesnt seem to stay hot as long as food cooked on the range or in a conventional oven.

This Kenmore oven is great! Its big and had room for multiple food items to bake, broil and warm up. I love the timer that is on it, very helpful. The touch screen is above and out of reach of small children, so they cant accidentally start the oven. Also the knobs to turn on the flame, you have to push then turn to light the flame, which is harder for a child to do. I have had this stove for over 5 years, never a problem with it. Very easy to clean as well. Great stove/oven overall.. I have the black one too, matches my kitchen, lol. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great stove..

This was a brand new unit in my brand new house. From day one I had problems with both the oven and microwave. First-after using the microwave for a couple weeks, I noticed the handle had become loose. No problem I thought, Ill just tighten the screws-nope. The screws are not accessible. They are hidden under the plastic frame and are not able to get to. I called Sears authorized service, they came out, and because of the poor design flaw, they had to replace the entire door=$500.00, which was covered. Now the oven, it never has heated properly and when I went to use it, it made a loud humming noise, then when I went to use the broiler, the cooling fan you could hear, was scraping against the sides of something inside. Once again, Sears service was called, came out, had to order a new fan/motor. To access the fan/motor, they had to pull the unit from the wall, and in doing so, tore my wall up a little bit.When they sat it on the floor to work on it, they didnt put anything under it and there were major dents in my new luxury vinyl flooring. They got it repaired, re-installed it and it worked fine until yesterday. The microwave door handle is loose again also. I called Sears service yesterday and explained to them its doing the exact same thing it was when they were here before. The representative informed me it would be a service charge of something like $250.00/hr. I couldnt believe it-I told him its doing the same thing it did before. Their response- their repairs only have a 90 day warranty. I told him I wasnt paying for what obviously is a poorly designed appliance. I informed him I would contact my attorney. Bottom line- every mechanical and electrical device will have its issues over time, to me, its about how the manufacturer stands behind their product. Will not buy a Sears product again.

I purchased my Kenmore electric glass cooktop approximately 10 years ago, and its been the worst stove my husband and I have ever had! Even from the beginning! It takes forever to heat up. Ive had cheap stoves that preheat in half the time than this stove and this one cost us a pretty penny! Not to mention the burners that are supposed to be quick boil, HA! Its like that old adage, a watched pot never boils! And the minute we got it home, liquid leaked down the vent holes and got between the glass, and there was nothing in the manual about how to clean it, so there it stayed, disgusting looking for the past 10 years, annoying the ** out of me. Until today when I saw something on Google and YouTube on how to clean that, FINALLY! So I did. Well, guess what? Those darn vents are extremely DANGEROUS! They are like razor blades. Sears should make those things so they are dull around the edges. I sliced my finger open on them and had to go to urgent care. Why is it so darn difficult to clean inside that glass anyway, yet so easy for it to get dirty? Nobody want drips of grease running down inside their glass forever! Disgusting! Ir to have to injure themselves trying to clean it. On top of that, now my oven front has a gap from the glass! What do I do? I hate Kenmore! Worst oven ever!

I prefer them over many more highly advertised brands. I have owned others, had more issues and went back to Kenmore.

Sears brought another range in the same model out and now this range has the exact same defect. Sears wants us to pay for the repair since warranty is no longer valid. I feel that this is a manufacturers defect or installation defect of the control panel, not something that the consumer should have to be accountable for. Sears/Kenmore needs to be held accountable for their products!

I purchased a Kenmore gas range from Sears in July 2010 based on good experience with a previous Kenmore stove. From the start the Kenmore model 790 made loud booming noises when using the oven. No explosions just a noise that made me fearful of using the oven and definitely reduced my use of it. I returned from holiday vacation to a stove leaking gas with the eyes turned off. The local gas company conducted an inspection and declared the stove dangerous and unsafe. Now the stove sits in my kitchen with a red tag labeled dangerous. I do not plan to repair the four-year old stove. It will be replaced with a new stove and different manufacturer. Thank you to everyone for sharing your experience with Kenmore stoves.

I purchased a water heater from Sears in 2002 and it began leaking in 2008. That water heater had a 9 year warranty. I had it replaced with a Power Miser 12, with a 12 year warranty. This water heater is now leaking 7 years later. When I called to arrange a replacement, I was told that this warranty is no good since I did not pay extra when it was replace in 2008. I was never told this in all my phone calls to Sears in 2008 and during the horrific process I experienced, in 2008, where I had to find the plumber myself and make all the phone calls and arrangements myself since everything Sears was supposed to be doing and they were not.Now I am told there is no warranty on this Power Miser 12 which is 9 years old. I will never get another appliance from Sears again. In my conversation with the representative he just ended it with I hope the rest of your day goes better. If you are planning on buying a water heater, I suggest you run away from Sears. They are not the company they used to be. They just dont care anymore about reputation. I will be shopping for a new water heater from Home Depot or some big box store.

The stove stopped working, including the stove top and oven. I am unable to cook or bake as a result. I will try to resolve this problem with Sears today, August 4, 2014. The stove was purchased 7 years ago.

The drum was a little smaller than I would have liked, so it required multiple loads to clean all of the clothes. But the multiple settings were nice and the machine washed my clothes well. My clothes never got caught in the mechanisms and the knobs are easy to clean if they happen to get soap on them. It was a very reliable washer. It didnt leak ever and never broke down. It has a sleek, clean look. Its white, though Id prefer black. The paint has chipped a little, but its not a huge deal. The overall value is excellent. The price is in the middle to upper range, but its effectiveness and consistency makes it worth it. Not being black lowers the value slightly in my eyes.

We purchased $6,000 worth of Kenmore appliances in 2013 for our new kitchen. The inside sticker in the microwave indicates it was manufactured in China in July of 2013. On December 14, 2014, I opened the microwave and discovered the inside glass on the door had shattered for no obvious reason. I was not using the microwave. I had been cooking on the stove top, but have no idea why it would have shattered, unless there was too much heat? This is obviously a manufacturing defect but when I called Sears, they required I purchase at $259 warranty, even though the product had been installed 14 months ago. This is on top of a two-year-old top load high efficiency washer that wont start without unplugging and replugging in the power source and a refrigerator with an ice maker that was installed wrong and caused much damage from the water leaking. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER KENMORE PRODUCT.

ANOTHER KENMORE 790 SERIES FRONT GLASS PANEL EXPLOSION! I have twice, in an approximately two-year period, had the same disturbing incident many others here have described. Twice, the entire glass front of the oven surface forcefully shattered all over the kitchen floor and adjacent room. When the first incident occurred, the company promptly replaced the glass front and assured us that this was an isolated incident. When the second incident occurred, the representative reported that someone would come to our home to replace the glass, but that we were twenty days out of warranty. Any expense would be ours. It is clear to me, a non-engineer, that the nature of the design is hugely flawed and very dangerous. Others of my friends have Kenmore ovens. While their handles meet a secure oven metal piece, our handle meets glass front surfacing. A heating temperature of as little as 350 degrees resulted in this near tragedy. I would not dare to try the self cleaning feature. While I have always been satisfied with Kenmore products, THIS OVEN IS A RISK TO YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR COMPANION ANIMALS. IT MUST BE RECALLED. I own a Kenmore Range Model # 790.97453804. Its about 5 years old. Last night just after dinner the glass on the front of the door exploded! Shattering into pieces all over our kitchen for no apparent reason. I contacted two numbers, one for Sears, and one for Kenmore. Neither customer service person would do anything to listen to my problem or what happened. Like little programmed robots they repeated over and over it is out of warranty and they will send a technician out to assess what needs to be fixed at which time I can pay them for the repairs plus labor or pay for the service call. I decided to go online and order the parts myself. During the course of conversation with the repair specialist I find out: 1) This is a known issue. 2) The stove was manufactured by Frigidaire. 3) Its an issue with insulation in the door frame (part #7 on the diagram of the door). 4) The manufacturer recommends you replace it every 18 months. To which I responded, and how are we supposed to know that? Technician responded I am the parts specialist and we have the resources from the manufacturer. Its extremely sad that something as dangerous as this can continue and nobody is doing anything about the defective product.

Sears Kenmore Elite Convection Microwave Hood - Paid over $600 on sale for this item in July, 2012. Was installed about three months later. Now, as of April 2016, the microwave no longer works. For about the last three months, the microwave would work if I jiggled the door a couple of times after setting the time - however, randomly, it would turn itself off in the middle of the cooking cycle. Now, no matter what I try to do to get the oven to work, nothing! This is the last Kenmore appliance I ever buy. Remodeled the kitchen in 2012 and purchased all new Kenmore Elite appliances. After the experience with this microwave, I am done with Kenmore. I would hope that a microwave which retails for over $900 would last a little more than a few years!

Have use my Kenmore for years and have not had a problem yet, no problem of any kind, no dial slipping, no buttons sticking, no nothing. Received the machine I picked out without any dents or scratching marks on it. Same color all around, no fading. My Kenmore machine was not the cheapest but it was not the most expensive one either. It was the middle of the price range that I wanted to spend and I received everything I wanted on the machine.

It is not under warranty! This has never happened before to the other ranges we have owned and we have spent a lot more money on this range! Its a hazard when the racks fall I have to prop them up on empty pans to use the oven. We have been loyal Sears customers for years but now we will never purchase from Sears again!

I purchased this range about six months ago, because I had an earlier model and loved it. Not so much this time. The oven bakes/roasts very unevenly, unless I use the convection feature. Recently, we found out the stovetop burner knobs are rendered useless VERY easily and VERY expensive to replace. There is a thin sheath inside the knob that fits over the shaft that controls the burner heat. This sheath often stays on the shaft when the knob is removed for cleaning. The first time it happened was by our cleaning lady, and she didnt notice that the knob was loose when she replaced it. We later figured out that the sheath had come out of the knob and just got lost. Now I am finding the sheath often stays on the shaft when I remove the knob and has to be replaced in the knob. It is very, very thin. We had to order a replacement knob and it cost $40!! $30 for the knob and $10 to ship. Not happy at all and will not recommend this product. Sad, because I have always had Kenmore appliances. No more.

On New Years Day, 2019 I cooked on top of our Kenmore range and in the oven. While cooking the fan from the Kenmore over-range microwave automatically came on as usual. After a period, it stopped. I had not used the microwave at all that day. I completed cooking on the range top but the food in the oven continued to bake. I walked in the adjacent Family Room to watch the Rose Bowl parade. While sitting watching the parade, I began smelling a strange odor. While walking into kitchen, my husband and I heard a loud boom. I walked to the microwave, there was a flame inside the cabinet and the glass turn table was totally shattered. We moved into action to smother the fire to prevent the flame from accessing the magnetron. The next day, we called Sears Service. The technician was scheduled for a 12:00 PM to 5 PM window of time. At 6:19 PM, I received a text that technician was on the way. At 7:00 PM I called, dispatcher could not locate technician. A technician was rescheduled for Monday. The technical arrived on Monday and said that he came on Friday but could not see an address (our address is located on our mailbox). When the technician viewed the cabinet of the microwave and he stated that he had never seen anything like that. He called his senior team but stated that he was having difficulty in cell phone service. He could forward photos of the cabinet to the Senior Team. The exterior of the microwave looks brand new. The technician departed. We received an email stating that the fire was caused by customer negligence. Therefore, the warranty was cancelled and no further action would be taken. We called Service. We were told that the microwave was totally burned by us. We explained that this microwave is setting in our cabinet. It is totally burned. If you walked into our kitchen you would never know about the damage within the cabinet. Of course, my husband disconnected the microwave from electricity to prevent another fire from happening. We asked for another technician to make an assessment of the damage. We were told that we would have to pay a service charge for a technician to come out again. We consented to pay the charge for an assessment. Sears then proceeded to attempt to send the same technician again. My husband called in protest. He was told that the particular technician was the technician for this area. We are totally disappointed in this defective product and the Customer Service rendered by Sears. They have no regard for the customers who purchase their products.

I have been using this product for over a year now and it has been working very efficiently. When I load the dishes, the washer removes all food and stains in minutes and makes the dishes like plates, spoons and even big vessels absolutely clean. It states that it removes 99.99% bacteria while washing them. The dishes do not feel wet when I remove them. They are very dry and I do not need to wipe them with a cloth. It is larger in capacity than my previous dishwasher even though it looks smaller. There is plenty of room on the top rack for tall glassware and the top tray lifts and lowers for bigger pots. The sleek, nondescript stainless steel finish allows it to go with pretty much any brand of appliance that you may have in the rest of the kitchen. The top buttons are aesthetically pleasing. It looks good in my kitchen. This dishwasher was an excellent value and beat all other dishwashers in its price range. It has great price and it looks like it should have cost more.

He ran to the fuse box and turned off the electricity. He then started to put the fire out. By then, the house was on fire. He was able to put the fire out, but it was too late. Cabinets, walls, floor, and kitchen was burnt badly. It has cost more than I can afford to fix everything. Well, the fire was caused by the timer of the stove, which you can see in the picture. The computer on the washer is not working and has to be replaced and it is August 2014. I took out a 30 year old Maytag that was still working fine (never once repaired) and now a little over a year later I am hit with a bill that is close to what I could go buy a cheap washer with. I have gotten no satisfaction from the company. They say I have to have an order number so they can make sure that was purchased when I said. Well they found it when I called about the cracked glass top on the stove I got at the same time... which has been replaced twice already. A few weeks ago, I was using the self-cleaning cycle when I heard a pop and saw a spark of light. I turned the cycle off, let it cool and turned the cleaning cycle back on and finished the cleaning. In my heart I knew there was something not right. I tested the preheat and it seemed slow, but I was able to use the oven a few times after that. Then the last time I turned it on, I got a weird chlorine smell/burning plastic?...That was it... No more oven. After the disbelief subsided, I started making phone calls. Per Sears... my one year warranty was up and I was up a creek. Sears repair sent a repairman ($80.25 with tax) and I was told it would be $348.02 to repair the electronic range control and overlay.Needless to say, the repairman had little to say except, These things are mass produced, its the manufacturer (Kenmore? probably not) not Sears. I guess Sears only sells the junk. After that they have no responsibility. He also had the gall to say, It is what it is, and left coupons for a percentage off a new stove. The little Troll even gave me a line about purchasing a new warranty after they repaired their junk. TWILIGHT ZONE... I will never buy another Kenmore product nor will I buy from Sears. If I could give a negative star rating I would... Now I need to go look for a stove as I am raising three grandchildren and they like to eat regular... Guess you get what you pay for... or not!

Kenmore Model 790.92202014 Oven Control Meltdown - I bought this range in early 2011 as an upgrade to my old Whirlpool range. Just shortly after it went out of warranty, the oven control unit failed. I called a repairman and a new one was ordered and replaced by him. Less than a year later, the unit failed again, so I sent the defective unit back to the provider and they sent me a replacement. This lasted less than a year again until 3-2013, only this time it blew the breaker (it never had done that before). Upon removing the back cover, I was horrified to find the oven plug that plugs into the control unit melted! I only can say Im glad it didnt start a fire. Im writing this complaint to warn people of a possible fire hazard. Im junking this range.

I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago with no response, so I contacted Kenmore yesterday regarding the self-cleaning of the gas range which left spots on the bottom of my oven. I did everything the manual stated to do and also took out the racks and self cleaned them myself. The representative on the phone told me to put a hot cloth with white vinegar over the area, and then I may have to rub the area, if that didnt work to take a razor blade and lightly go over area and the spots would be removed. After trying both methods neither worked. I phoned again and another representative told me she could have a tech come out the following day but it would cost me $75.00 or $39.00 a month to cover all appliances in the house. I told her absolutely not and informed her that I would not be purchasing anymore Kenmore products. Then out of curiosity I wondered how much the part would cost just to replace it and after researching on the internet the part was $60.00. So therefore I would have had a tech come out for $75.00 then probably charge me at least $100.00 for the part and to replace it, what a rip-off. Other customers please do research before falling for this scam.

It was the timer bad. Model 10657368702- 2009 model. Then the stove/oven start burning everything we baked. It was stuck on broil. Warranty company again sent out Sears, said control panel was bad. A week later same thing, Sears was sent back out, control panel, diff. service tech. Ok its working again. Keep in mind, we were starting on pies for the holidays when it chard them to a crisp. Now less than year later, its control panel again. Stuck on broil and smoke you out. Home warranty has now expired. This part is over a $100! No dreaming way. How much is this stove going to cost us in the end? Under home warranty I was paying a copay, now this. The model # is 79096018502. Its now sitting in our kitchen and useless. Gotta pay to haul this thing off now. Its not that far from new. Come on now, three control panels in less than a year at over $100 a pop. So, do we as a Kenmore customer keep buying this control panel at that $100 or would you risk buying another Kenmore and most likely have same expense happen again?

Theyve cancelled their repair dates on me twice, causing me to be late for work. The ovens may work for a time, but as soon as they go out, dont expect anyone from the store to be even the slightest help.

I rent my home so I didnt buy this stove but I use it pretty much every day. Its a white Kenmore, ceramic top with 4 burners. One of those is a double burner. I just did the self cleaning on it, which took 3 hours (not as long as some ovens). It burned off pretty much everything but left some crusties between the crack of the door and the oven but other than that it cleaned itself great (I just had to wipe the ash out). The top is fairly easy to clean but to get the ceramic really clean and shiny I use the Kenmore cooktop ceramic cleaner. Its wonderful.

It was the better of the dishwashers I have owned. It was not needful to even rinse the dishes well, only scrape them good. I wish I had bought the same model again when it wore out and needed replaced. I was married with four children. We almost always could get all the dishes and pans into the dishwasher and then some. I was always very happy about this as I hate washing any dishes by hand. Im not one to really care about the way an appliance looks most of the time, but I did like this one especially as it matched my stove and refrigerator. They were Kenmore also :) It was a very good value as it did the job very well and lasted many years even through such a large family and much mistreatment by so many children trying to do their chores.

I have found similar examples from other customers where the microwave caught on fire in exactly the same location - where the rack inserts into the internal framing. FAULTY PRODUCT! Purchased Kenmore Electric Range Model 9622 Sept. 2007. First use of self-cleaning burned the paint off panel above oven vent (which happens to be RIGHT UNDER THE MAIN CONTROL PANEL!!! Same vent drips profusely during use of oven. Days before Thanksgiving, either 2013, or 2014, large eye on left makes a loud pop, then stops working. Thought it would be no biggie. (Didnt purchase extended warranty). It was a REAL BIGGIE. The problem was in the main control panel. $650 to repair. Twice what I paid for the stove originally!(Should have just sold it without eye working and used the money to offset new range). Yesterday, while trying to heat the oven just to 375°, it made a HUGE pop and tripped my breaker. It did that twice, then, shut down 2 more times with same loud pop, without tripping the fuse. The last hoorah was when IT WASNT EVEN BEING USED!!! Same loud pop, and completely shut off. Pulled it out from the wall to find an electrical burn on the wall, and hole burned through the cover plate. Inside, the piece to hold one of the sets of wires is completely melted.

We have been pleased with our refrigerators performance – it has been reliable and efficient. We have plenty of room in the fridge and freezer and we like that we can rearrange the shelves if needed. We are able to fit everything we need in the fridge. There is a lot of usable space on the door too. We like the overall appearance of our refrigerator – the stainless steel finish matches our other appliances and makes the kitchen look nicer and less dated than it did. Large appliances are expensive but, in this case, we felt like it was a good investment because its a brand that we trust and have had good experience with in the past.

I have two. A side by side I bought this spring after moving into this house. The existing recent model top freezer model is now in the utility room with my new Kenmore upright freezer. All 3 are excellently reliable, frost free models. The thermometers I placed in them confirm constant temperatures in both fridge and freezer compartments. I bought my first Kenmore side by side 49 years ago. I left it in a house I sold 34 years later! Reliability draws me to Kenmore. My Kenmore kitchen has a gas range and dishwasher to match the side by side. You can tell I trust and rely on Kenmore appliances.

Have no complaints and is good value for money. Doesnt spin loud like a lot of other washer and dryers. It just looks like any other average washer or dryer. It doesnt look horrible and comes with a wide range of choices such as colors, etc. Its not the cheapest brand but you get what you pay for. I would rather pay more and get a machine that I know works very well and is reliable.

We purchased a Kenmore Elite range in 2012. It worked well for a while then the computer board failed and the oven would not heat. This first occurred December of 2014. I was without an oven for the entire month of December. Then on November 28, 2015 the same issue started. We called for repair and were treated rudely and they would not re-order the same parts from last repair, so we had to wait for a tech on December 2. The tech came out. He was rude and not helpful. He didnt even inspect the oven. He said it was the computer board and ordered the part. We then had to wait for parts to arrive and schedule the next available appointment on December 11. The tech installed the board and the oven worked for 4 hours and broke again. We called customer service again and we were told that there was nothing he could do for us because it had not been 24 hours since the tech was at our house. He did say he would put a notation for the tech to call us the next day. No one called on December 12, so on December 13 we called again. The CSR finally agreed to order the parts without waiting for a service call, and scheduled the next available date for repair on December 21. We specifically said we did NOT want the same tech to come out. On December 21 we were quite shocked when the same tech showed up, was as rude as ever, refused to the install the board and only installed the igniter (which he failed to order on the first repair). All in all, my oven was broke for almost the entire month of December. I will NEVER make another appliance purchase from Sears again.

Like it all except the push button controls for the oven etc. were not very sturdy and the mounts broke and had to re-enforce and remount the panel from the inside. Only one problem... That of the control panel mounting weakness. Have had a great experience with all my Kenmore products and see no reason not to continue buying them in the future when needed. The products are solid and the prices are very reasonable for a great dependable product.

My Kenmore dishwasher was very fast and it did not make a bunch of loud noises like some dishwashers that I had owned prior. This specific model dishwasher had powerful jets. I cant recall a time when I owned my first Kenmore that I ever had to run my dishes through a second cycle. They always came out looking crystal clean. The dishwasher came with my first condo I bought and for the five years I lived there I had absolutely no problems at all with it. I own a Kenmore now because of it. I was told by the previous owners of the condominiums that the dishwasher and oven were brand new and had been installed a week earlier.

Less than one year after installing the Kenmore Elite Convection Microwave (and the gas range), the plastic coating on the stainless steel handle began to disintegrate. We ordered a new PLASTIC stainless steel handle for about $80 but then Sears said a repairman would have to install the HANDLE because the entire door has to be disassembled and it needs to be tested afterwards to verify there is no leaking radiation. I am so incredibly disappointed in all of my kitchen appliances. Every one is only three years old now and all are breaking down due to cheap materials.

It has a sleek appearance and its white so it goes perfectly with my range and other appliances. Also, its easy to wipe the outside clean which I love. Since Ive had this particular dishwasher for 8 years now I would definitely say it has a good value for this item, and its built to last. I would highly recommend this dishwasher.

Stays really cool, especially in the summer when the kids are constantly opening and closing the door. I love the ice maker. Its usually in the triple digits and our old fridge couldnt keep up with the demand for icy cool drinks. I like the size because it holds a lot but it would be better with more space in the back. A bit too wide, had to remove counter space. I like the metal look but would prefer more color options. All of my kitchen appliances have been purchased to color coordinate. I would like to be able to coordinate with the fridge and stove as well. If the fridge lasts at least 7 years, Im very happy. I may upgrade before that depending on whether or not you can offer color options.

We bought top loading high efficiency low water washer SN C54547545 in July 2016. It took a lot longer to wash a load. This year 2019 it started acting strange. The clothes were too wet and I’d drain/spin again. Checked the troubleshooting section-nothing worked. My husband put clothes in dryer while I was out and the load was too heavy, causing my dryer to burn up. Now I’m looking to buy both. Washers should last longer than 3 years!

We have had this for 4 years with no issues. Yesterday we had not used the microwave in several hours. Then my husband heard a pop in the kitchen. When we went out there the entire glass was shattered. There were small shards of glass on the stove and the floor. I have never heard of this happening. I googled it. That’s when I learned this happens if there is a defect in the glass. Thank goodness no one was in the kitchen or using the microwave at the time. A new microwave will cost less than the door will cost to replace. Go figure.

My husband and I went to Sears appliance in Clifton March 6, 2014. The salesperson was rushing to make a sale, but we insisted on asking questions like, Can the microwave be used with the rack that is inside it? He told us they sell them with the rack because it can be used with the rack. We paid $400 for the Kenmore over the range microwave oven. We even purchased the extended warranty. With both the manufacturers warranty and the extended warranty we felt safe. Well, the microwave caught on fire and when we called we got a royal run-around for 3 hours. Sears blamed the manufacturer, the manufacturer blamed Sears, then Sears blamed me for using the microwave. The consumer is now blamed for using the appliance as the sales person said it could be used. This microwave has a rack to be used when cooking. It worked well for 6 months, then it caught on fire. When we asked about the warranty and manual, it turns out that the consumer is at fault no matter what happens.My house could have caught on fire. I have a microwave oven that should not be sold because of its tendency to catch on fire or blow up. The techs used the words blow up, not me. It is a fire hazard. Sears will neither replace nor will they repair the microwave. The people at Sears dont know that Kenmore is a part of that company and that they have the same numbers. Its ridiculous. I took pictures of the charred section. I thought Sears was better than that. I guess the best suggestion is dont buy microwave ovens from Sears. I checked other reviews and they all give terrible reviews. I should have read those first.

Kenmore Oasis Elite washing machine - F1 error message led me to do research online. After phone calls to Sears, I had to do my own homework. Found that there was a recall notification for serial# in range of CT01 thru CT49 which mine is. Model is 110 27092600. After many phone calls etc they said yes it is recalled due to the common F1 error message but that I have to pay for the repairs... WHAT!? Their product fails and so many of these washing machines failed that they had to do a recall but we the consumers have to pay for it? Never ever will I shop with Sears nor will I buy a Kenmore product even though I am in need of a new dryer, microwave/wall oven combo, and dishwasher.... oh and now a new washing machine or repair!

A Kenmore oven purchased about 7 years ago seems to have a faulty circuit breaker. The broiler turns on by itself. The oven apparently doesnt even need to be turned on. It nearly burnt my home down (several times). The only way to turn the broiler off was to pull the oven out of the wall and unplug the oven. Sears offered $150, which doesnt even cover repairs. And if posts are true, it doesnt even fix the problem. Make right on this. Look it up: Kenmore oven broiler. Dont risk your families’ lives with Kenmore! I just paid $750 for a new oven which you owe us for. I am not taking a chance with my family’s lives because of poor manufacturing and negligence of human safety. I will not drop this because I care about innocent people who believe their oven will not erupt in flames on its own. Start living up to human decency and take care of this. I am one of many but I will not let this drop.

This range has a vent in the rear area of the burners. When I run the oven, very hot air blows out into the room from the oven. It is so hot that I cannot use the oven at all during the summer months and have burned my fingers by touching this unused part of the range too. I live in the CA central valley and have good air conditioning but it heats up my whole kitchen, running for up to 30 minutes after the oven/broiler has shut off. The manual confirms that heat from the oven comes thru the vent. I have never had a gas oven that does this. I paid $1274.99 plus tax & delivery for the stove in December of 2011 when remodeling. I had hoped for a good stove to last for a long time. Secondly, when you set the oven for 350 Degrees, it runs so cold that I have to set it up to at least 375 to complete the baking. I am so disappointed with my purchase that I have decided not to buy any more from Sears.

I have also had washer and dryers not wash and dry my clothes thoroughly. It fits just the usually size load. Its not a higher duty dryer and washer. Those ones were out of my price range. But I dont have any complaints about the load size. I live by myself. I like the appearance of my washer and dryer. It doesnt look old or used and its easy to use. It has the basic knobs but very stylish. Overall others would complain and want the newer model but this one I am very happy with. The value of this washer and dryer is very least expensive but is stylish enough to look like youre not poor and cant afford a nice washer. I love these models of washers and dryers. I think these models are the best around for people that cant afford the newest models around.

I called Sears customer service 4 times in one day and each time, they put me on hold to look something up and we were disconnected every time. I have owned this range for 5 years and this will be the 3rd time this control panel needs to be replaced. Of course, the extended warranty I purchased has run out. 2 years ago we bought a Kenmore oven. After several months of having it, I decided to use the self cleaning option. Our oven had no built up grease, and it really wasnt dirty because I take really good care of my things. I read the directions and proceeded. I have done this many times before with other stoves and no problems. After an hour I started smelling an odd odor. My husband said, that is normal, that is the cleaning odor you are smelling from the burn off of the cleaning process. I said I know that smell you are talking about and this seems different. It smells like burning wires or rubber. He said dont worry. After 1 1/2 hours it looked like there was smoke in the kitchen and I said I was too scared to leave the oven on, and the smell just got worse. I shut the stove off and waited until you were allowed to open it. The very top of door turned a yellow brown and the seal around the glass on the inside oven door melted. I am horrified to think what would of happened if I kept the stove on the time the manual said to? I have never used the self cleaning option again. Sears refused to do anything about it. We wanted the door replaced and they suggested a fifty dollar gift card instead! We are now having to replace this stove because I am afraid to use it. Several times after that sometimes when you would turn it on, there would be an unexplained smell, like burning. I was really scared the other day, I turned it on to my normal cooking temp. of 350 and it smelled like wires burning. I quickly turned it off and will now never buy a Kenmore or a stove from Sears again!!!

My Kenmore electric range (Model #790-9421340D; VF 83045790) is about 5 years old. In December 2011, the range shut down completely due to a faulty control board for the variable temperature burner. I had the board replaced. A couple of days ago, I went to turn on this same variable temp burner and literally saw an electric current arc in front of my eyes! The surge caused my main circuit breaker to home to shut down cutting off all electricity. Thank God I was not hurt, but I shudder to think what might have happened. Obviously, I will be replacing this range, but not with a Sears product. We should expect that a major appliance should last more than a few years without needing repair. I will be shopping for a much more reliable product.

Love the brand. I have been a Kenmore customer since I moved out on my own. Both my parents and Grandparents were Kenmore lovers. I have had both washer and dryers as well as stove, microwave. I have never had the brand fail me. I have even purchased Kenmore appliances used due to their reliability and my inability to afford a new appliance. My fridge has even cooling. No warm spots. There is also more than enough room for all of my needs. The height is good, all my bottles and jugs fit upright, no laying things down so the contents can leak out. Its also easy to see what youre looking for. I like the ability to change my shelves to fit the needs, such as the holidays fitting all the pies, desserts and salads in and still having room for all the regular fridge items. However, I dont like the plastic shelf barriers. They should be metal. So if something is a bit large it just bulges instead of breaking. I dont care for shortness of the drawers. I thought they were longer so things like stalks of celery and bags of carrots fit without trimming them.

I have had plenty of Whirlpool washers and dryers but this Kenmore is one of a kind machine. I have had it for a couple years where my Whirlpool pool last less than a year. The appearance comes to mind when you get home and have extra space. Looks small but the big deep drum holds a lot of clothes for that big load you got just sitting around. The values of the washer and dryer is outstanding. I prefer Kenmore over any other companies. The value of the performance and the price range is up anyones alley.

I purchased a custom home a few years ago and the microwave and oven combo were installed. The paint has peeled inside my microwave and is now rusted. I have called customer service and they advise purchasing a whole new set, although this is almost new or very gently used. Customer service is not helpful (extended wait hold time; ignorant product sales representatives who transfer to other departments with ignorant personnel). When I asked to speak to a supervisor the call was dropped...This has happened on numerous occasions, so it is not just a fluke. I will NOT purchase ANY KENMORE product ever! I advise others to consider purchasing any other brand but KENMORE.

Never had any issues with it; its energy efficient and keeps frozen foods frozen and cold food cold. The price is also reasonable for such a reliable appliance. Its a good size for two people; it holds several beverage packs, has large crispers and there is enough space to arrange items if you really want to load it up. Its a typical two door appliance with a top freezer - it is kind of generic looking but its functionality is optimal. We really like it... For this size and model, Kenmore provides the best value - the price is very low compared to similar brands. This is a functional appliance and well worth the price.

We have had this oven for 5 years. In the 5 years that we have had it it has had a minimum of 2 repairs. I clean it with the automatic cleaner and something burns out in the oven. The last time I needed to wait several weeks for the part and make a second appointment for 2 servicemen to come out to pull the oven out of the wall. It is so obvious that there is a flaw with this oven. Again, I made the mistake of using the automatic oven cleaner and I am again without an oven!! It is so frustrating and Sears suggested that I google it. Not the kind of service I expect. I will never buy a Sears product again. Very disappointing.

I purchased a Kenmore stove in September of 2013. The other night after baking a pizza, I turned the stove off by pressing the Stop button on the control panel. The panel started to spark, and then caught on FIRE! I was able to put the fire out, pulled the stove away from the wall, and removed the back panel. The control panel was completely burnt. Sears informed me that I should have bought the Master Protection Agreement for circumstances like this. It is 2 years old. Sears refused to stand behind their product and Vanessa, the company rep, informed me that I should have had it serviced yearly like it states in the manual. Nowhere in the manual does it recommend removing the back panel and checking the motherboard to see if it might potentially catch fire. Sears only attempt to make this right was to try and sell me a protection plan in case it happened again. An internet search showed that Kenmore stoves are known for this problem, but nothing is being done to correct it. I caution any buyer, DO NOT PURCHASE A KENMORE STOVE, and I would highly recommend that due to Sears lack of concern, do not purchase anything from this company.

It has been used roughly a dozen times if that. Well on 1/26/15 we had made a pizza and were enjoying it when we heard a large pop. Upon investigation we discovered that the inner door glass had exploded and shattered. It was contained inside by the front and back panels. I figured because the warranty was only expired by three months that Sears would foot the bill for repairs. Not so! Their argument was warranty had expired. Okay understand that but when the hell have you ever heard of oven door glass exploding simply by using the oven. Definitely one for Ralph Nader. Ridiculous. What if it had been the outer glass with a toddler or family pet walking by. Believe Sears like the rest of iconic American businesses continue to sell us down the river with inferior products.

I purchased new oven racks through Sears and still while cooking a turkey the same problem existed with new racks. It caused a grease fire and I was burnt. After several calls to Sears I finally spoke to a corporate person who sent a repairman out at Sears expense. The Repairman said he could not fix the problem the oven walls were defective. The serviceman immediately called Sears from my home on his cell phone and I was offered 20% off a new oven if I purchased from Sears.I told the corporate person I would not accept that offer of 20% and that my oven is only three years old. It should last at least 15 years and would be talking to his supervisor on the next business day. I also told him I was going to seek legal advice, expose Sears through our local news station in the SF Bay Area if this issue was not resolved. Im shocked that this has taken so many phone calls and a service call and I still was offered 20% off a new oven and not a replacement oven. I have purchased numerous appliances through Sears and never received a run around such as this. This is a Health and Safety issue. I see other complaints such as mine online regarding wall ovens purchased through Sears. We should all seek legal help and expose Sears on the way they are handling their health and safety issues.

It’s a Kenmore elite. It’s a very nice range. However we have had issues with the controls. They say to replace the board. That’s very expensive. Sometimes it doesn’t help. They say replace it again.... It turned out to be a bad interface at the plug on the board. It didn’t cost anything to fix but time. Probably over a hundred hours of research that didn’t help. I just happened to have 30 years experience troubleshooting equipment and as soon as I quit looking for answers and figured it out on my own. Poor soldering. Shouldn’t Ever happen.

I bought a Kenmore gas range from Sears in Sept. 2012. I recently tried to use the broiler and the self cleaning features (not at the same time of course). When using these features, the range produced an extreme amount of a chemical smelling smoke that filled my house and set off my smoke detectors. I called a technician and was told that the unit was burning off a cutting oil that is used in the manufacturing process and that the smoke was perfectly normal. REALLY??? My husband has asthma and has had to leave the house because of the smoke. I cant get anyone from Sears of Kenmore to help me. I am incurring costs like crazy trying to get this mess cleaned up, paying for my husbands hotel and paying a company to come in and run air scrubbers. I have also had to remove the stove from the house in order to reduct the smell of toxins and now I have no way to cook for my family.
