I bought the Kenmore Dishwasher, in fact, I bought all Kenmore appliances because they work great and last for years and we get superior service on them. I have had my appliances for over ten years and they still work great like new, no problems. It has featured of being able to have heat on or off, having the arm on top and bottom, quietness. I like the silverware basket because its on the side and not the middle which gives you more room. I also like that my top rack is deep. I wish it had a self-cleaning feature like an oven so I could run it once a week to keep the power wash free of debris. We live where the water is hard, it would be nice if it had a built-in water softener that you could maybe change a filter out so I didnt have to buy additives to keep them from spotting up so bad.

My stove was just 4 years old and heating it up to cook the circuit board overheated and caught fire. Board and wires were burnt. Sears warranty was brutal to deal with. Its not a big deal - why investigate what caused it. It only caught fire!

It is big enough to put all my dishes and pots and pans silver wares, glasses. It very good on doing the complete job so I would recommend this dishwasher to family and friends. This machine has a sleek color that goes with all your appliances, stove, refrigerator, microwave, even tile. It would be a very good choice for anyone. The value is money well spent. All the extras you will need, so dont hesitate get one. Best value.

We bought a Kenmore Electric Range 790.9420, 9424 just under 2 years ago for $700 (January 2015). The Convection has never been impressive... Following the directions but still burning items (I have since found out that it shouldve performed much better than that but I had no reference point) and it cant cook more than one item at a time without slowing down the cooking process or burning items. The last straw was two weeks ago, 12/10/16. It made a very loud POP while trying to bake a pizza. It totally stopped baking. For the last two weeks I have gotten the worst customer service through Sears that I have ever experienced. The local store hasnt been able to help (in fact when I tried to call their listed number, they never answered and then the phone call just cut off after 3 minutes of listening to it ring). I had to go into the store to tell the manager that their phone hadnt worked for 3 days as I had tried to reach them, then the 800 Sears Service number that is listed to call has been just terrible. Those at the 800 number must be trained to never help the customer or admit that their product hasnt delivered as it should have AND they arent allowed to give out any information on someone higher than their level to complain to... Absolutely no accountability. The main numbers of 1-800-469-4663 and 1-847-286-2500 have given me NO satisfaction. They have transferred me to Sears Holdings, Sears Solutions, Sears Rewards and NO ONE has been able to help me. All say it is on me, I didnt buy a warranty but that they can come out for $89 to assess it! Are you kidding me? My Stove/oven isnt made to last even 2 years? My phone call issues range from completely dropping my calls, putting me on hold for 25 minutes and never returning to speak to me so I had to hang up and call back and start all over, saying there is no recall or defect on this item so its costs are on me. I have been trying to give Sears some time to take some responsibility for their defective product...I finally had another local repair man come out and they determined it is the Control Panel... Cost is estimated at $250 (thats just for the item), then add the labor. I called Sears with this information. They have no solution other than to tell me to pay their tech to come out and assess it. I will NOT do that. I will not buy a Sears product ever again and I will do my best to let everyone I know to never buy from there again. Other than the store manager who did a good job hearing me but had no authority to help me, I have experienced ZERO customer service. I spoke to the store manager yesterday and there was a sign of a very little movement after I pressed more that my appliance shouldnt break in under 2 years and that anyone must have a warranty for something under 2 years. She was going to contact the Service Factory Manager directly for me. I have doubts that anything will result and plan to buy with a local company. The individuals on the phone are not accountable to anyone... They dont seem to care if you have a lemon or if you will not do business with their company anymore. I was told if I had an issue and wanted to speak to a manager, that I could call back and hopefully I could get through to the Arizona call center versus the Texas one. Are you kidding me? No accountability, No customer service, No standing behind their products and making it right with customers. Terrible. I/we have many more years of buying power and it wont be with Sears. I really hope my review will prevent someone else putting their money and faith into any Sears products.

Kenmore electric range, Model 790.92809012 (6-years old) encountered F10 error (run-away temperature). I set range temperature to 170 degrees for one hour. Our house filled w/ smoke, smoke alarms went off. If our Son had not been home, our pet bird would have died and our grandsons inhaled a lot of smoke. Please remove this range from inventory; extremely dangerous appliance - almost cost lives. Where can I go to get a refund - or replacement model? We are warning our homeowners insurance company of the danger of this product.

I purchased a water heater from Sears in 2002 and it began leaking in 2008. That water heater had a 9 year warranty. I had it replaced with a Power Miser 12, with a 12 year warranty. This water heater is now leaking 7 years later. When I called to arrange a replacement, I was told that this warranty is no good since I did not pay extra when it was replace in 2008. I was never told this in all my phone calls to Sears in 2008 and during the horrific process I experienced, in 2008, where I had to find the plumber myself and make all the phone calls and arrangements myself since everything Sears was supposed to be doing and they were not.Now I am told there is no warranty on this Power Miser 12 which is 9 years old. I will never get another appliance from Sears again. In my conversation with the representative he just ended it with I hope the rest of your day goes better. If you are planning on buying a water heater, I suggest you run away from Sears. They are not the company they used to be. They just dont care anymore about reputation. I will be shopping for a new water heater from Home Depot or some big box store.

I have owned by Kenmore Washer and Dryer for over 20 years. It has been reliable and I have had only a couple minor issues with them, but not bothersome enough to call for repair. Occasionally, in the washer, a load will become unbalanced and because I am not strong enough to adjust the feet on the bottom, I just rearranged the clothes inside the washer to stop the loud banging noise. With the dryer, the only issue I have is that it seems that the heat sensor might be off a little because it feels to me like the dryer is always drying on a high setting not matter what setting I select. To deal with this on my delicate fabrics, I dry them on touch-up which is a somewhat cool setting. But I would say for owning these appliances for over 20 years, I am very satisfied with them.

The oven racks fall with little or no weight placed on them. It is so bad that they now dont fit. Ive read online that the interior lining of the oven expands and the racks fall. This is a MAJOR safety hazard. I have been burned and my wife has been burned as a result. After informing the operator who took my call that I am an attorney, the operator transferred me to a line for immediate help. The immediate help was for the operator and not me, as the transferred line hung up on me.

The Kenmore refrigerator was really cold, kept fruits and vegetables fresh and freezer was incredible. But it would be cool to have a feature like a wifi speaker so you can listen to music while cleaning without having to carry your phone with you, a digital picture frame, a remote for temperature control and music volume, auto defrost in freezer and a wide range of colors. It would also be cool if it had an organizer with pictures on tablet so you just make a selection of what you want to cook for dinner. Then it just deposits it in slot in door and youre not letting cool air out. Moreover, it needs an ice maker, a larger freezer and drawers. And maybe add a safety measure by adding a child safety lock in handle and alarm if the doors are left open. Would even like a way to keep odor out of refrigerator so no one needs baking soda anymore or a self clean option for fresher smelling refrigerator. Maybe they can do bundle with kitchen items like refrigerator with dish rack or with another appliance. And maybe put deeper pan on bottom to catch water.But why are refrigerator so expensive? With these ideas Im sure it will be very expensive so I would recommend a discount of some sort and come down on price. But all in all I like this refrigerator very much. I love that its kind of roomy. You can put a lot of groceries in there without taking up all the space. It has met my expectations and surpassed all others. Would definitely refer this refrigerator to friends and family.

My Kenmore Self Cleaning Oven is just over 30 days old and recently used the self cleaning option. I used the 2 hour option since it was a minor splatter on the oven floor. After the cool down and the door released, I noticed two burn marks on the top of the oven door. I did everything the manual instructed including removing the grates, racks and wiping all services before starting the process. I called Sears and they said it was a cosmetic issue and is not covered under the warranty. I think its a door gasket problem, but they said no. I told the service dept I was very dissatisfied that they would not stand behind their product. All he said was Sorry.

Kenmore Range model 970-67843 - Hello, We are hoping that you can help us resolve our defective Kenmore range, which we purchased new from Sears in Kelowna, BC 4 years ago. We have always purchased Kenmore appliances, and have always been happy with them. So when we lost our home to a fire in 2009, and rebuilt it, we once again, purchased all Kenmore appliances including Frigidaire manufactured range and fridge. We felt confident that we were buying a quality product, but did purchase the 3 year extended warranty as well, which has of course, expired. Then this Thanksgiving, Oct 2014, we had just about finished cooking our Thanksgiving dinner when we heard a buzzing noise and saw black smoke coming from the back to the range. We turned it off and the next day, turned the oven on, only to find that it did not work at all. The cooktop does work still. We called Sears only to be told that the warranty was expired and we were out of luck. So we took the range to a repair service, who told us that it would cost us at least $500.00 to fix the oven. This does not seem right, when our appliance is only four years old. Clearly there was a manufacturing defect. We cannot afford to buy a new range, or pay hundreds of dollars to fix this one, and we are asking Frigidaire, as the manufacturer, to stand behind your product. We have been without an oven for two months now, and that is not an easy thing at this time of year. Please respond and let us know that we can feel confident in our purchase. This stove is not only defective, but dangerous, and should be recalled.

We purchased the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range Model 790 in Nov. 2011 & contrary to our usual approach, bought the 3-year extended warranty in part because the stove was expensive, being on sale for almost $1800. On Oct 30, 2014, the oven would not heat & a technician replaced the upper oven bake ignitor. Whew!...we thought. Lucky for us we had the extended warranty. But wait...on Feb. 9, 2015, with the extended warranty expired by about 2 1/2 months, the oven was turned on for use. While waiting for it to pre-heat, the oven started beeping wildly, then a terrible electrical burning smell flooded the house. My husband raced to the kitchen to see flames shooting out of the vents in the back. He managed to get the fire out and the gas turned off. The entire backside of wires was charred. We took photos & went to Sears where the Manager told us there was nothing he could do. He said it was up to the Service (1-800-4-MY HOME). We were incredulous that Sears does not have its own managers making these types of customer service decisions, but rather that the repair service to which they contact has that authority! I reminded him this was not a user error in that we did not set off a grease fire, but that the stove CAUGHT ON FIRE! We suggested that we thought Sears should take that very seriously, as a house fire could have resulted. He went on to repeat that Service would charge us to come out to verify & assess the damage & likely offer us no satisfaction. We previously bought appliances from Sears, but no longer. All our friends are incredulous that Sears is not replacing this stove.

I too have a Kenmore stove (Model #C970-648229) with falling racks! I have e-mailed Sears with no solutions. Ive been to their store where the stove was purchased. They even took a rack and have never returned it. They have suggested I pay for a service call to have an agent come out to tell me what the problem is... I know what the problem is - the racks no longer fit the oven! Apparently I have found out it has something to do with the lining of the walls in the oven??? Every time I have my oven on to bake something I hear this crash and the racks have fallen and my item being baked ends up spilling all over the oven. I am very, very frustrated with this. I will never buy anything from Sears again!!! And it seems they dont want to deal with this problem!! Has anyone received relief?

Kenmore range (model # 790.91413010) was purchased in March of 2011. A week or two later, the front control panel on the range fell in. Sears brought another range in the same model out and now this range has the exact same defect. Sears wants us to pay for the repair since warranty is no longer valid. I feel that this is a manufacturers defect or installation defect of the control panel, not something that the consumer should have to be accountable for. Sears/Kenmore needs to be held accountable for their products!

Flimsy electronics on 7131 gas range - You know its bad when you have to glue your range together with epoxy to cook! I used my range about 5 times over the span of 2 years in my farmhouse when the electronics module broke off and fell back into the range. When I opened the back up, I found that the control panel was installed with 4 tiny plastic ears that were way too fragile to use in a kitchen appliance. Since my warranty had expired, I just glued some bent aluminum to the sides of the control electronics and put it back in. It works, but in all my days as an electrical engineer, I have never seen something so flimsy that is supposed to work for the life of a product. Someone needs to know this.

I bought a Kenmore French door fridge 1-18-18 and on 10-27-19 it went out. The top does not cool. Had Sears repair come out and said it is not under any warranty. That it would cost over $1000.00 to fix. I called Kenmore and got nowhere with them. I called Deawoo and they also would do nothing about it. I now own a $1900.00 piece of junk. I will never and recommend no one ever buy anything Kenmore as it is not made in States and only has a 1 year warranty. They are junk. Nothing like when I was a kid and everything in the house was Kenmore. Worst thing I have ever bought. I will no longer buy, go to, ok deal with Sears or Kenmore ever again with anything. I am now selling my riding lawn mower, kitchen stove, washer and dryer before they break and I have more junk to find a way to get rid of.

I have always preferred an electric stove over a gas stove. I had my stove and hot water on propane so I decided to do all electric and thats when I purchased the Kenmore electric range. I have never owned a glass top stove that didnt have the coil burners. There really wasnt any other options. I learned that if you spill something on the stove while cooking on it to make sure you clean it up before you use it again because it is a lot harder to get it clean if you keep cooking on it. It cleans up great as long as you clean it after every use. It has a convection option instead of just bake selection which I use most of the time because its faster and it cooks more evenly. It also has one burner that is called turbo boil. When you use that burner it boils within less than 1 minute. It is awesome. Really cant think of anything negative. I would highly recommend the Kenmore electric range. It is the best oven I have ever owned.

Sears Kenmore has made some of the most reliable appliances I have ever purchased! I purchased my stove in 1998 and Im still using it. It isnt digital; which I prefer because digital appliances need too many repairs and are very costly when the circuitry breaks down. The con is they dont brown as well as metal ovens. Im saddened to see Sears closing its stores. I would definitely research to find who carries Kenmore when purchasing appliances, as Im sure they have updated them.

I still smell gas when using the broiler for a few minutes. I must also preheat the oven long and set 5-20 degrees higher. Sears should have stuck with Kenmore, Craftsman, and their durable jeans. They started sending their work out and that was their downfall. What a shame!

Glass blew out about 3 ft. all over the kitchen floor. Our grandson had just walked past the door. This could have been far worse than it was. A visit to Sears on Sunday proved futile as, you guessed it, they had not heard of this happening and didnt know this type thing could happen. Luckily I had taken pictures of everything as proof & showed them. All they did was provide phone numbers, which I called. They could only schedule a service call. I checked the internet for any recalls on this particular model and found none. So we bought another stove but it was NOT a Kenmore. No more Kenmore appliances for our family.

We opted out of spending the extra $100 for the extra warranty because for some reason I had faith that a brand new product wouldnt have issues, and if it did, then I could trust the manufacturer to stand behind it. That didnt happen either. Instead, we were pitched getting a warranty for $40/mo after paying a $60 fee to start. Completely dissatisfied with our product and experience and will likely be getting something else from another brand. The oven we bought at the same time, also Kenmore, is another story. I bought a Kenmore stove August 2013 for close to $1,000. This week as my husband was standing in front of it (luckily) there was a puff of smoke out the back and it stopped working. We were told by Sears that they could send out a repairman for $240. My husband removed the digital controls and you can plainly see the part that caught fire. He took it to our local Sears and the manager said it would not have been covered under warranty anyway because all that covers is the drive train of the stove. Basically the shell, since this isnt a car we are talking about. He said he could order the part for $109 and it would take 5-7 days to come in. We told him we thought Sears should cover that cost and they would not. In the past 20 years we have completely furnished two kitchens from Sears in an attempt to keep the company afloat. I will never buy anything from them again. I hope when the customer service people - wherever they are - get their pink slips, they see that I have signed them.

2 years ago we bought a Kenmore oven. After several months of having it, I decided to use the self cleaning option. Our oven had no built up grease, and it really wasnt dirty because I take really good care of my things. I read the directions and proceeded. I have done this many times before with other stoves and no problems. After an hour I started smelling an odd odor. My husband said, that is normal, that is the cleaning odor you are smelling from the burn off of the cleaning process. I said I know that smell you are talking about and this seems different. It smells like burning wires or rubber. He said dont worry. After 1 1/2 hours it looked like there was smoke in the kitchen and I said I was too scared to leave the oven on, and the smell just got worse. I shut the stove off and waited until you were allowed to open it. The very top of door turned a yellow brown and the seal around the glass on the inside oven door melted. I am horrified to think what would of happened if I kept the stove on the time the manual said to? I have never used the self cleaning option again. Sears refused to do anything about it. We wanted the door replaced and they suggested a fifty dollar gift card instead! We are now having to replace this stove because I am afraid to use it. Several times after that sometimes when you would turn it on, there would be an unexplained smell, like burning. I was really scared the other day, I turned it on to my normal cooking temp. of 350 and it smelled like wires burning. I quickly turned it off and will now never buy a Kenmore or a stove from Sears again!!!

The first thing that happened multiple times was on the larger bottom oven the oven racks would come off of the grooves inside the stove and on my occasion I burnt my arm. I contacted Sears several times with that concern. However I heard nothing back. The stove was no longer under warranty. I was inquiring if anyone else had been burnt because of this flaw in the oven. I have continued to have issues with the convection only working half of the time as well as the top oven burning the bottom of everything. I know its time to invest in a new oven. I just didnt think I would need to do so after only 5 years and at a cost of $1600.00.

When we went out there the entire glass was shattered. There were small shards of glass on the stove and the floor. I have never heard of this happening. I googled it. That’s when I learned this happens if there is a defect in the glass. Thank goodness no one was in the kitchen or using the microwave at the time. A new microwave will cost less than the door will cost to replace. Go figure.

We bought a Kenmore electric range/oven, model number 790.90152304. We used the oven maybe five times. The sixth time we tried to use it, it essentially got stuck in uncontrolled preheat. When turned on, the oven will go into preheat mode. Once the preheat temperature is reached, the preheat light goes off, but the upper element stays on. The upper element will not go off until the oven controls sense that something is wrong. By that time, the oven is extremely hot, and eventually shuts itself off with an F1 error. If anything is on the upper rack of the oven, it will start on fire due to the intense heat. Since the time of the first incident, the oven has not functioned normally.The internet is littered with complaints about this same Kenmore model. So, I can see that I am not the first customer to encounter this problem. The point is, there is a design problem with these ovens. Upon calling the Sears service number, I was advised of several plans. They told me I would have to pay a Sears tech to come and fix the oven. Needless to say, I bristled at the thought of paying to have something fixed that has a serious design flaw. This comes very close to saying that Kenmore put the design problem in so that they could fix and make a little extra money. As far as I am concerned, Sears/Kenmore should recall these ovens.

It was the timer bad. Model 10657368702- 2009 model. Then the stove/oven start burning everything we baked. It was stuck on broil. Warranty company again sent out Sears, said control panel was bad. A week later same thing, Sears was sent back out, control panel, diff. service tech. Ok its working again. Keep in mind, we were starting on pies for the holidays when it chard them to a crisp. Now less than year later, its control panel again. Stuck on broil and smoke you out. Home warranty has now expired. This part is over a $100! No dreaming way. How much is this stove going to cost us in the end? Under home warranty I was paying a copay, now this. The model # is 79096018502. Its now sitting in our kitchen and useless. Gotta pay to haul this thing off now. Its not that far from new. Come on now, three control panels in less than a year at over $100 a pop. So, do we as a Kenmore customer keep buying this control panel at that $100 or would you risk buying another Kenmore and most likely have same expense happen again?

It is a very reliable refrigerator, small but does its functions well that are to cool and freeze my products. To be a mid-range brand it worked well for me. The fact that its doors are small is what displeases me about the model. I would have liked some doors more in line with my needs that would occupy more space for the products.

The washer machine doesnt fail to work. I have had it for a long time and it still hasnt worn its performance. It cleans everything perfectly and without fail. I can always trust this machine. It has never proven bad. This machine is reliable for any clothes and large to fit them into it. The appearance of this washer machine is marvelous. It fits perfectly in next to the dryer. The funny thing is the two machines next to one another fit perfectly in the laundry room. It is well worth the value. It has never let me down. I have had this washer machine for 3 years and it still acts as if its brand new. Im amazed.

You can fit a lot in this unit. The space is better than the chest freezer I replaced. I like how every area keeps the same temperature as well. Very nice unit. The outside is white which matches my other outdoor appliances. The style is also plain and easy to clean. I wanted something simple in design and not hard to keep up. This unit fits that need. For the price I was very happy. It blew me away compared to something I was looking at from Costco. I knew what I wanted and this fit that expectation but at first avoided it because I thought it might have been out of my price range.

I purchased a complete line of Kenmore Elite products to furnish my new house in September 2010. Fast forward 1.5 years later, the indoor ice maker stopped working. I lived without ice for a while until I could find a good time to get a repairman out from Sears to fix it (2013). Now, the seals on the doors collect condensation and seem to build up a residue, special. Last night, I was surprised to have the exterior glass of my oven explode on to me whilst baking at 400. 400.... pretty average baking temp, nothing thrown at the oven, dropped on it, smacked to it, nothing. Just a surprise explosion and a cut to the shin from the tempered glass flying at me.

Yesterday we had our Kenmore elite refrigerator repaired yet again. Ice maker issues again. Repairman put in a new ice maker that now only has 2 screws that hold it in whereas there used to be 5. Therefore when the water came in to the ice maker it didnt go into the cup/tray instead just spilling all over. He turned off the ice maker and told my wife to have me turn down the water pressure when I got home and left. The ice maker is not screwed at the top allowing it to tip away from the water line and making the water spill. If I turned down the pressure it would be worse. We spent $20,000 at sears in 7 years - craftsman rider and garage door openers, Kenmore fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove, washer, dryer. A treadmill and vacuum cleaner. All in 7 years. All Kenmore was elite series. Problems with fridge were almost immediate. We have a light fixture meltdown, complete freezer ice up, control board changes, several ice maker issues, water dispenser always slow then stopped working. Complete shut downs with error codes. Most of these I have fixed myself, including yesterday’s episode after he left us high and dry. Even had a wire break smack dab in the middle of the water dispenser door that we were told could not be fixed because the doors are sealed at the factory and cannot be opened up. How does a wire break inside of a sealed door unless it was damage when being installed? Said I would need a new $800 door. My wife and I managed to peel open enough of the door to see 2 wires that had very clear slice marks in them one being all the way through. We fixed them and the water dispenser worked like it had never worked before. Those 2 wires were cut during manufacture and hung on by a strand or two till finally letting go and then no more dispenser. Microwave tray would clunk and tip every time it went back and forth till I figured out the wheels were on the arm wrong and once I switched them it has been fine. Dishwasher needs to be run twice per load to get dishes clean. Stove works great. New washer sometimes stops mid cycle and says no H2O. Consumer reports says by Kenmore Elite. Well I will tell you they dont know crap. I have almost no Kenmore appliances that work without problems, spent about $9000 on them, none older than 7 years some as new as 1 year and I will never consider another. We used to buy everything at Sears including a Dyson vacuum (love it) and a Nordic track treadmill (very good) and all my craftsman hand tools over the last twenty five years. No more. I am done. They have done almost nothing to help us or to keep us as customers. When Sears finally goes out of business (been hurting for years) I am going to call the customer service center and laugh at them. Goodbye Sears and I hope you’re gone soon. Kenmore is trash!!!!!!! Sears does not like their customers, just their money. They got mine, for the last time.

I rent my home so I didnt buy this stove but I use it pretty much every day. Its a white Kenmore, ceramic top with 4 burners. One of those is a double burner. I just did the self cleaning on it, which took 3 hours (not as long as some ovens). It burned off pretty much everything but left some crusties between the crack of the door and the oven but other than that it cleaned itself great (I just had to wipe the ash out). The top is fairly easy to clean but to get the ceramic really clean and shiny I use the Kenmore cooktop ceramic cleaner. Its wonderful.

My parents had had good experience with Kenmore products so I believed what I was told. What a mistake! I have nothing but continuing problems with the Sears Electric Range. The electronic oven control motherboard has had to be replaced three (3) times because it keeps malfunctioning. I was told by the last repairman that it was because a design defect in the range caused the motherboard to overheat & fail. I called Sears and they just blew me off. I am going to try one more time before hiring a lawyer.It is sad to see how far Sears has fallen. At one time, it was #1 in quality and customer service. Its quality has deteriorated badly. Its customer service is essentially non-existent. Its lack of customer service will cause it to lose more and more customers like me. I didnt mind paying a lot of money but it was fair to expect a quality product and prompt customer service for any problems. Instead, I got a lemon which I am told has a product design and Sears seems to care less. Whatever the cause may be, I am sick and tired of paying to have motherboards replaced. In December 2015, it stopped working, and the repair guy showed us the electrical panel was burned. We decided to be on the safe side and replaced the whole thing for $330 (plus the $100 service call fee). Almost exactly one year later the broiler element is out, we pulled off the back panel yesterday and sure enough, the electrical panel is burned again. So its a poorly made product, and its cost me over $1000 to own this oven for just over 5 years. It was nowhere near worth that amount of money. Dont ever buy a Kenmore range.

I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago with no response, so I contacted Kenmore yesterday regarding the self-cleaning of the gas range which left spots on the bottom of my oven. I did everything the manual stated to do and also took out the racks and self cleaned them myself. The representative on the phone told me to put a hot cloth with white vinegar over the area, and then I may have to rub the area, if that didnt work to take a razor blade and lightly go over area and the spots would be removed. After trying both methods neither worked. I phoned again and another representative told me she could have a tech come out the following day but it would cost me $75.00 or $39.00 a month to cover all appliances in the house. I told her absolutely not and informed her that I would not be purchasing anymore Kenmore products. Then out of curiosity I wondered how much the part would cost just to replace it and after researching on the internet the part was $60.00. So therefore I would have had a tech come out for $75.00 then probably charge me at least $100.00 for the part and to replace it, what a rip-off. Other customers please do research before falling for this scam.

The company is sending a repairman who we have to pay $250, despite all the phone calls and emails to corporate. We feel this was a defective piece of equipment, and seeing several other complaints of similar happenings, I feel we should not have to pay for service call or the repair/replacement. I will never buy Kenmore products again after this incident. And will do my best to spread the word.

I purchased a bunch of Kenmore Elite kitchen appliances from Sears 3 years ago - a gas range, a dishwasher and an over range microwave and hood combination. The problem happened with the microwave. When opening the door of the microwave recently, a peace of plastic from the edge of it got broken all of a sudden and fell on the floor. It was definitely not caused by us, or our inaccurate using of that equipment. We are very neat people, do not use the microwave frequently, just a couple of times a week and always very accurately. The problem was definitely caused by a disguised damage that the door obviously had since the beginning. Our attempt to receive a reasonable service from Sears resulted in an estimate in the amount of almost $400.00 for replacing the door, while the total price of the entire new product when we purchased it 3 years ago was $499.99. We understand that our product is not covered with a warranty any more, but, assuming that the damage (a very unusual and caused definitely by a disguised problem), can the repair price provided to us be considered reasonable? Just after 3 years of a very gentle usage of said appliance? It is obviously that both the manufacturer and the Sears corporation are not interested for their products to last long so that the people have to buy new frequently, increasing their profits. We are extremely disappointed and advise people not to purchase any appliances from Sears and avoid purchasing Kenmore products at all. Kenmore does not have a direct customer service, all attempts to contact them are transferred to Sears, while Sears representatives refuse to provide any reasonable help telling us that the repair price depends only on manufacturer. Once again, its just 3 years of an extremely gentle, infrequent and neat usage of that microwave and weve done nothing for this to happen, however, now we have to make a choice between repairing it for almost the price of a new one or buy a new one. Our previous microwave served us almost two decades and we would still have it if not the kitchen remodeling - the reason we decided to buy a new one. We will never purchase any Kenmore product anymore, nor we will purchase it from Sears. People, be careful - Kenmore and Sears are not reliable!!!

My Kenmore Self-Cleaning range is 5 years old, and about two years ago, I noticed the oven racks were falling out of the groves. The oven box seems to have bowed out and the racks fall out and do not fit anymore. I assumed Sears would take responsibility for this as this should never happen. When I brought the problem to them, they said I must buy new racks costing about $150.00 and that there was no recall on this problem. I think this is unfair and irresponsible on the part of Sears to not recall these ranges or at the very least, replace at no charge the racks.I have been a faithful Kenmore customer for over 30 years, but I will never buy another Kenmore appliance or any appliance from Sears again unless they do the right thing and correct this problem. Without proper fitting racks, the oven is virtually unusable, not to mention a safety hazard as hot items placed on the racks can cause injury when the racks fall out of the groves. I have been burnt more than once due to this. Shame on you Sears!

Every time I use the dryer it gets the job done. It doesnt take hours to dry them and it allows me to get more dry in half the time. I would recommend in using this dryer to help save time. It is time saving and has really helped me get my drying done. With the setting on the dryer, I can control the dry I need for my clothes. I like that is dryer is compact and it has a wonderful look to it, it is modern and fits next to my washer easily. Having the matching set will make any washroom complete and beautiful. Not everyone likes going out spending big money on washers and dryers. I found that this price was in my price range, it wasnt too high and you are getting the product for your money so you never have to worry about overspending.

Sears response after an hour and a half was that there is no recall, their customer affairs will not accept the call because the product is six years old, and the earliest they can send a technician is a week (at my expense).

I cant recall a time when I owned my first Kenmore that I ever had to run my dishes through a second cycle. They always came out looking crystal clean. The dishwasher came with my first condo I bought and for the five years I lived there I had absolutely no problems at all with it. I own a Kenmore now because of it. I was told by the previous owners of the condominiums that the dishwasher and oven were brand new and had been installed a week earlier.

Then, BOOM. All lights go out on oven & top eyes. It threw my 50 amp breaker. My husband said do not touch it! It had to have been strong to flip that breaker. Has anyone else had problems with their ovens? I called Sears & they said 2 weeks before a repairman could come! So, I cannot cook for my family for over 2 weeks not counting how long it will take for them to get the parts!!!

I called Sears (where I had purchased it) and they told me I needed a new baking element for $118.25 plus $10 shipping (!), so I ordered it. The repairman suspected the problem might not really be the baking element at all, but since Sears was so positive that was it, he installed the new baking element. It did not work! So I called to Sears to ask how to return it and they told me it was not returnable since it had been installed. They went on to say that if I hadnt installed it, they would take it back! This made no sense at all -- how on earth would one know it didnt work if one did not install it?The rep told me it was just too bad, that I was stuck with the new $130 part, and that Id just have to buy a new range. Unless I wanted to pay Sears to send out a repairman for a flat fee of $120 before making any repairs, but since it was out of warranty it was unlikely that whatever the problem really was would be covered. After only 2-1/2 years! Kenmore used to be the best! Now, theyve slipped so far that I will never buy another Kenmore appliance. I will definitely report this to the CEO of Sears.

It had a cycle that was extra powerful and extra hot for baking dishes to make sure they were fully cleaned. It was a little pricier than I initially wanted to have but I liked it. The look was black stainless steel and it had a lot of the features that I liked and wanted because the previous dishwasher I had was horrible and wouldnt clean anything. The Kenmore dishwasher was inexpensive and I cook a lot in the oven and get tired of having to soak the dishes prior to putting them in the dishwasher. The only main issue I want changed is that it has water spots at times after they are dried. I have to take them out after they are washed and dry them off or they will spot.

I recently gave the toaster oven away to clear up counter space. Decided to heat up some Publix side dressing. Tried it again around Thanksgiving and it was dead. I got the oven in April 2014, and believe it or not, I am not I do not cook. It is just two aging dogs and me. I work, so it is usually a microwave meal. It still looks showroom new. I called Sears, and they will do nothing. They want to send me an outrageous warranty for a year, which will cost more than the stove and send out a tech at 60 a pop until they fix it. One time and it quit working! I think they should take the stove back and replace it! I was not even cooking -- just reheating! Sears used to mean Quality! Go elsewhere next time. 3 years ago, I bought what I thought would be my last stove. Brand new Kenmore, with a warming, drawer and burner. Self cleaning. 1300.00 dollar thought it was the best. Im 60 years of age. I figured I would buy one last stove before I retired. Hey, its a Kenmore, right? It would be here long after Im feeding the bugs, right?WRONG! In less than three years the oven wont heat up passed 200 degrees. The circuit board costs over 200$. I didnt buy the Sears extended warranty. Its a Kenmore! The independent service man that came out said, he would not recommend this repair, because, this problem would keep occurring. He said, he would not feel like he had done me right, if he had repaired my stove. He charged me nothing, apologized, and left. I stuffed a hundred dollar bill in his shirt pocket, and thanked him. I called Sears. They said, I should have bought the service policy. I wont buy anything from Sears again. I replaced it with a 200$ Plain Jane stove from Lowes, no electronic, no bells, no whistles. It works just fine!

I just purchased this range Friday after Thanksgiving 2015 and less than a week the burner caps got SOMETHING on it and it wont come off. The touch pad is ultra-sensitive when cleaning. (You can turn on the warmer, oven light, or even set the timer.) This is very frustrating. You have to WIPE WITH A WET, SOAPY cloth then a dry, no lint cloth so that it doesnt smudge. That also goes for the stainless. This range costs a mint too much to have to go through the inconvenience of this clean-up. As far as all the functions of the range, they seem to be working fine. Give me a couple of months and I will get back to you as to whether I am satisfied with this purchase.

August 2015, I purchased a Kenmore Elite Convection Oven MODEL #970C693832. Its a beautiful oven which came with a major problem. The red flag should have been noted when it was delivered, and the glass control panel fell off; this was before it was even brought into my kitchen. I asked them to return it, and we got a new one a week later. Three months in, the same thing happened again; the glass control panel fell off. I called Sears, and they sent a technician to fix it with a new control panel. The technician mentioned to me that the only thing holding the control panel is glue. When the oven is in use, every time I use my oven, the glue is melting away. Theres no frame to support it, when the glue melts off. How is this even safe? Last week, the same problem happened again, the glass control panel fell off. I called Sears again.Today, a technician from Sears came in to check it out and will be fixing it again with a new control panel. So until he comes back, and fixes it, I have to use tape to hold up the control panel in order to use the oven. Luckily, its still under the extended warranty, but I cant keep calling Sears to replace the control panel every time the glue melts. Instead of sending a technician to fix the same problem, Sears should replace this appliance because this problem will happen again, and they know it. This oven is not good, and I would never recommend it. Sears should do its part and make sure they are selling their customers good appliances that they can rely on. I am very disappointed with my appliance from Sears, and I wish Sears would make good appliances with top-of-the-line materials and parts. Sears needs to do a quality check assurance on their appliances before they go on the market. We as customers cannot afford to expend so much money on products that either dont last, or have problem with their parts.

We have been pleased with our refrigerators performance – it has been reliable and efficient. We have plenty of room in the fridge and freezer and we like that we can rearrange the shelves if needed. We are able to fit everything we need in the fridge. There is a lot of usable space on the door too. We like the overall appearance of our refrigerator – the stainless steel finish matches our other appliances and makes the kitchen look nicer and less dated than it did. Large appliances are expensive but, in this case, we felt like it was a good investment because its a brand that we trust and have had good experience with in the past.

We called and it took a repairman 3 weeks to evaluate the stove as he had no idea what was wrong with it. He ordered parts and we called to make another appt when the parts arrived. That took two weeks. He came to install the new parts and found out they were the wrong parts. Another two weeks went by and repairman came and installed new electronic system in stove. We had inquired about another stove but they refused and said this one could be fixed. Within an hour of him leaving the electronics went out again.Called and made another appt in two weeks time. He came out again and just rewired the original parts and from then on it seemed fine till tonight. We used the oven last night it was fine and came home today and the entire display on the stove is out. No lights to use the oven whatsoever. We had not taken the extended warranty because our parents had Kenmores for years. We are on a fixed income and do NOT have the money $90 service call and replacement parts of $360 - to spend on the stove. It would be more than we paid for the stove in the first place. I have tried every Sears # I can find and no one is willing to help me - they just say what do u want me to do. I want my stove fixed the right way and so it lasts.

The Kenmore dishwasher came with our apartment. The performance is excellent, and we dont have to go over dishes, or re-wash anything like we have in the past with other dishwashers. We generally keep it on the normal wash setting and it gets the job done, even on heavier stained dishes! The Kenmore dishwasher came with our apartment. It is the perfect size for a smaller space, like an apartment or a condo. It is compact, yet not too small, as it houses all of our dishes perfectly. You can fit a good amount of dishes in, yet it is not bulky. The appearance of the Kenmore is fairly clean. I feel as though this model looks slightly dated, due to the large selection of newer models offered on the market today, however it is stainless steel, and goes well with all appliances, as it has a very neutral, clean face. I feel as though, you pay for what you get with this model. Dishwashers can be expensive and this one is in the more low to moderate range, and it is worth it.

Purchased a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator 2.5 years ago. 3 Months ago the Ice maker started dripping water and freezing up. Cost 270.00 for a repair person to come out and realign the water feed to the ice maker. Now the entire unit is not getting cold. $400 worth of parts and a bill to me for $367 plus $99 service fee. The Kenmore Elite Over the stove Microwave purchased a 14 months ago, fan was staying on. Service fee was going to be an additional $249 for the service technician to look at it while he was already at my home. The phone center where you had to call would not discuss any other options and even had the nerve to keep me on the line every time I called trying to sell me a home warranty on appliances that are less than 3 years old!!!Is that what we can expect from Kenmore? For their products to not even last a year after warranties run out? Based on the cost of the $500 a year warranty and $249 service call repair costs they must believe that their equipment will break down at least twice a year for the warranty to be effective or save the consumer money. I Think I will try another Brand.

My kitchen is kind of small so this dishwasher is a great size and falls right into place around my cabinets and under my countertop. Great fit for any size kitchen. The white goes very well with my kitchen. The color matches my kitchen appliances... the stove and refrigerator. It is easy to clean also. The value of the dishwasher is good. Low maintenance and upkeep. I really like this dishwasher and I would recommend it to anyone who is shopping around for a great dishwasher.

Everybody should have this brand. They are really good on their sizes. They have the right size for everybody. They have a long range of models so Im sure you will find the right size one you are looking for.Very good looking models. They look somewhat similar but you can tell the difference between them. I have a black one to match my other appliances but I really liked the one I have and the stainless ones they are very nice. They dont really cost that much for the quality of them. Its well worth it but Im a firm believer in you pay for what you get and you get good merchandise with this company.

I have a 2007 Kenmore stove (model number 790.46729700 NF 74118261) which has had to be repaired three times for the same problem after a power surge. The unit has to be re calibrated. Enclosed are the repair receipts for this work (totaling $299) which occurred on 2/18/10, 1/25/2011 and most recently on 1/26/2012. There is something terribly wrong with the stove and that should be corrected by Electrolux, who I understand is the manufacturer of the unit. I now find out that there is a simple procedure that can be done to correct this problem, but it is not listed in the manual that came with the stove. I am requesting to be reimbursed the $299 that I incurred to repair what is a defective stove.

My 40 stainless steel Elite Kenmore range/glass top looks impressive on first notice. But the design of the rim around the top has caused it to get really scratched in a short period of time (1 year). The drawer below the ovens is very flimsy. The digital oven works great. But the smaller analog ovens thermostat can never be relied on. I love the five burners on the cooktop, two of them having the capability to be two different sizes. I am unhappy with the stainless steel finish... Very hard to clean without streaks. Ive tried everything! I needed the 40 size because I live in a 1960s house that requires 40 stove, or a lot of cabinet rehab. I thought the price was too high. But there are very few ranges available in that size.

This washer is awesome. If you have seen commercials where they put filthy dishes in to wash and find it unbelievable, you can believe it now. I tested it. It really works with this dishwasher. I give it a score of 15 out of a possible 10. Its that good. It is the perfect size. With a family of four we can start putting the dishes in at breakfast. Throughout the day we keep adding more dishes. You would think we would run out of room before dinner, that is not so. We still have room for the dirty dinner dishes. You wouldnt think that a dishwasher could be described as pretty but this one can. I got it in the silver or chrome color and it matches the refrigerator and the oven and stove. They all look really pretty next to each other. It is definitely worth every penny I spent on it. It wasnt very expensive at all. There were other brands that did the exact same thing but were more expensive. It turned out to be a really good value.

Sears wont replace it they want me to pay for the repair....NOT, so here is what happened: We cut the oven to warm up then walked away. We heard a popping then a smell of wires burning. If we had not been in the kitchen this would be a different story. I call Sears, oh they want me to pay to have them come look at it, I dont think so! The earliest they can come to look at it is DECEMBER 2nd, Wait that is a week and a half! They told me that I cant get it replaced without me paying for it even if it is faulty wires. I AM SO MAD right now! If you have a Kenmore range in your house unplug it NOW, wishing I had never bought this thing!

This fridge lasted almost 3 years before I moved and left it at my old home. It worked very well and the ice machine was fantastic. The produce stayed very fresh also. Very small freezer. Too small to do big shopping trips at one time. Always had to rearrange and stuff things in. The produce drawers are small too. Stainless steel was beautiful. The shininess always showed. The machines were elegant. The inside was refined and modern. It was very nice looking in general. The value was just fine. The price was just right for a machine that lasted for so long and never had an mechanical issues. The value was very balanced.

I purchased a Kenmore Convection Range model 790.97453801 on 2/7/2009 for $1,000. Today, it takes 45 minutes for it to preheat to 350 degrees. We did not buy the extended warranty. I called Sears to schedule a repair and was told it costs $129 for a service call plus parts or I could purchase a 1-year warranty for $239 which would cover repairs and parts for 1 year and $500 towards a replacement in the case that it cant be repaired. The oven is less than 2 1/2 years old. :( This is the last Sears purchase we will make.

After building a new house, we decided to get a nice stove and bought the Kenmore Elite 790, plus Kenmore microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator (all stainless). The stove has been a disappointment ever since. Top burners seem to have very little control. Oven has never worked right. Sometimes when baking, it switches to broil and burns food. Sometimes when it switches, it overheats and an error code displays. Sometimes, you put on bake, and the broiler comes on. Yesterday, the inner burner of the triple burner quit working. Besides that, we have only had to replace the control panel on the dishwasher. I think I would prefer non-electronic controls on stoves and dishwashers; older stove controls lasted forever. Anyway, my next stove will not be a Kenmore. Spend all that money on that piece of junk.

I purchased this more expensive refrigerator as I thought LG/Kenmore was a good brand (also bought a stove & washer dryer by them. Upon researching the problem, looks like there is a class action suit against LG due to faulty compressors failing after 3 years, which they claim LG knew about, but kept selling these. Now I am out a freezer full of meat and have an expensive repair. THIS IS NOT FAIR. I had a repairmen come diagnose the problem and he said it is the compressor. $300 for parts and $600 for labor. That IS $900 to fix my $1400 fridge. A MAJOR APPLIANCE SHOULD BE BACKED BY BY AT LEAST A FIVE YEAR PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY. I was not expecting to buy a new fridge every 2 years.

Glass was everywhere. No one else lives in my home. I very seldom use the oven. Nothing fell, nothing mysteriously hit the oven door. I called sears to no avail. The washer is by Kenmore and I have not had any repairs in the time I have owned the machine. This washer does the job. Happy with its performance. Clothes are clean. Not looking to replace. Will keep this washer for the long term. This washer is white and is a standard washer with a top load. It has an agitator and a lot of buttons. I use warm for my whites and cold for my colors. I looked at a lot of machines. It was not at the top or at the bottom of the range. I therefore felt I got good value.

It looks great. Its modern and attractive. It is also easy to wipe down and keep the outside door looking clean. Overall, this dishwasher does a great job. For really tough, stuck on food, I usually have to scrub it by hand first. But it still does a good job getting dishes clean. It was worth the price. It wasnt too overly expensive, and I feel that it was a good value for the money. It does what Id expect from a dishwasher in this price range.

These ovens are manufactured by Frigidaire for Kenmore and Jenn-Air with only the cosmetics being different. Same defect in both. Jenn Air has recalled and replaced the defective products, Sears is in denial. The problem is that when the self-cleaning mode is used, the oven sidewalls expand, allowing the racks to fall, resulting in burns. So far, weve been lucky, but if a small child or pet were in the vicinity... it could be tragic. We purchased all high end Kenmore Elite when we redid our kitchen. The factory service was a joke. We filed a complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and will be sending a demand letter to Sears and Frigidaire.

I am well out of warranty now, and my fridge stopped making anything cold. No error codes or signals, opened my fridge and freezer to puddles of cesspool of muck. It appears as though everything is fine from the outside. Apparently I need a new condenser. I have had nothing but countless strange problems with my fridge, hindsight is 20/20 now. I would NEVER purchase another from Sears or Kenmore. Expensive pile of chrome junk, paperweight at best.

I bought the Kenmore front loader washer and dryer in burnt orange when we purchased our home. I LOVED them. They worked great for years. We did have a small issue with the vibration and it was loud. We did have an issue with mold, but we bought the special cleaning tabs and kept the door open when not in use. Well, the dryer started going first... not drying well. I would run the dryer 3 times to dry one load. Then the washer went. Door lock would hold laundry hostage... cycles stopping. Id say we got 5 good years out of the dryer and 6 good years out of the washer. We paid through the nose for these things... Really sad.

The dishwasher was a total lemon, and started malfunctioning the first week we owned it. After four repairs for the same problem, and eight months of begging, Sears finally agreed to replace it. What is the only catch? Since I chose to use my own installation technician instead of Sears service, Sears now expects me to pay $150 to install a new dishwasher! So, they sell me a piece of junk, and then expect me to shell out $150 to remedy the situation! This is unreal.Below is a list of everything disappointing about our Sears experience:1. Sears didnt agree to replace their product right away. It took four breakdowns, and eight months to get them to get any sort of customer service.2. Sears never informed me when I bought the dishwasher that by not using the Sears installation service, I would be responsible for the replacement costs, if the product malfunctioned.3. Their multitude of DISRESPECTFUL sales representatives ranged from sarcastic to condescending and arrogant to blatantly rude.4. I was informed that I could not speak to anyone higher on the chain of command than a sales representative. I could write to the CEO if I wish.5. Their sales representatives on many occasions reminded me that, they were doing me a favor by not charging me a $50 restocking fee for the replacement dishwasher, since my product replacement was outside of the 90-day window. Ummm, Sears refused to replace the dishwasher within the 90-day window despite the fact that it had broken twice!6. One sales representative sarcastically offered me a $10 gift card for my year of trouble.I am incredibly disappointed in Sears. They used to be my “go to store” for any appliance, automotive, and outdoor need. Unfortunately, they will NEVER see another dime from me.

The only issues I had were with the freezer. It was hard to always fit several frozen pizzas and large tubs of ice cream. I just had to change my grocery shopping habits. It isnt the most glamorous. Its not ugly. It just looks dated when compared to stainless steel. It matched my kitchen at the time. It was on the lower end of the price range of refrigerators but it has lasted a long time without having repairs. It also doesnt use a ton of energy.
