Kenmore Distancia Reseñas
Ranges in the world of Kenmore. It’s breakfast, lunch and dinner on your terms for more even baking, faster preheating and ultra-fast boiling. That’s amazing. That’s Kenmore.
Pizza oven (721.66993 011) still works but the microwave turntable will not turn and will not heat. I also bought a Kenmore washer and dryer from Sears and got the extended warranty. I was told after they have been to my house more than 4 times they could not give me a new set because they switched companies that handled their warranty work and they could only see where they have been to my house once. Its takes 4 times to be able to get a new set. So now Im stuck with a piece of junk that doesnt clean well or dry well.
Whenever I bake something in the oven about 1/2 hour into the cooking process, the screen lights up with F10 and the oven beeps. The only way to stop the beeping is to turn the oven off. When I turn it on again, it beeps 10 minutes later. It is impossible to cook anything, very frustrating and not normal. The stove is approximately 5 years old.
Has lasted for years after many uses and many kids with tons of dirty clothes and a dirty husband. Even had shoes thrown in and still runs like a champ. Plus no lost socks! Works every time all the time. Even dries faster than other dryers Ive used and its great for quick use, plus I love all the options. The price is definitely worth it. I love the appearance of this dryer. It fits my decor greatly and matches my washer perfectly even though they are different models. Its very sleek and looks like a much more expensive dryer and its a mid range price dryer. I love that it looks like a high end dryer. This isnt your mothers dryer, with the old knobs and buttons. I love how this dryer looks.
We own a Kenmore Elite double oven that will no longer hold the racks in place in the bottom oven. This is a very dangerous defect that has caused multiple spills and also burns. Sears claims to be unaware of this defect event though there are many complaints about this same problem on the internet. The problem is caused by the walls of the oven bowing out due to regular use and cleaning of the oven. Sears refuses to issue a recall on the oven and has offered to provide a service call at our expense which does not even guarantee that it can be fixed properly. If this were a car, Im sure it would have to be recalled but I do not believe there are adequate consumer laws that cover appliances. Sears does not stand behind their products.
Kenmore Ultra Bake Oven - So apparently this is a thing with Kenmore ovens? I was not in the kitchen when I heard a pop followed by lots of crackling. No one was near the oven, thank god. The oven is 8 years old, but we really dont use it often and do not treat it roughly. There is no good reason why an oven door should explode. This seems to be a well-known problem and yet there are no consumer warnings on new ovens and no recalls that I can find. These ovens are dangerous and should not be in peoples homes. Kenmore should take responsibility for creating an inferior product instead of blaming this obvious defect on consumer use. Very disappointed.
Kenmore Elite dual oven Electric Range Model 790. Purchased this stove in late 2009. Within months, the touch sensors on the back panel would work only intermittently. Called Sears to have repairs made to my new stove and they walked us through pressing lots of buttons on the display board to reset it. Problem persisted, but didnt have the time/energy to look into it further. Months later, the top oven stopped working correctly. Not sure what happened, but anything we cooked was raw on top and burned to a crisp on the bottom. A few more calls later to their service department where, once again, they walked us through the process of turning the top oven on to as hot as it would go. Recording the temperature using a thermometer we had to place in the oven, turn the oven down, wait for it to cool down, record the temp, etc., etc.Again, we gave up and decided my time is more valuable than a working top oven and had already spent HOURS on the phone being shuffled around from department to department (Warranty Dept, Customer Service, Customer Solutions, Home Warranty, back to customer Service where I was transferred incorrectly back to Home Warranty...). So, we lived with an intermittently working board and now a clearly improperly heating top oven. BUT - we didnt buy the extended warranty so we were now out of luck since a year has since passed.Fast forward three blissful (not) years with this piece of crap oven and we start to notice that the racks in the bottom oven seem to be very loose. Hmmmm. Take all racks out, rearrange them thinking that perhaps they have designated slots in which each rack fits, but they all seem to have the same problem. On the phone to Customer Service we go... And again we are transferred all over the organization until finally we land upon a person that might be able to help me. IF we are willing to pay $280 for a service contract upon which they will send a tech out to make repairs up to $500. If I dont want to go that route, I could always sign up for a Home Warranty ($55/month for 1yr contract or $35/month for 1yr contract for appliances) OR a Service Smart Agreement - again for repairs UP TO $500. After that, I pay for it... Oh yeah, I had to pay either a $90 or $60 service call each time a tech came out.At this point, my life is getting shorter and shorter and I decide I cant spent any more time being dragged around by the nose by Sears any longer and wave the white flag - until one day, I leaned down (to the floor, because this is where the bottom oven is) to lift a roast out of the oven and the racks suddenly collapse spraying bubbling, scalding juice all over the front of my arms, chest and legs. The oven walls seem to be expanding every time we turn this thing ON! Im now down to ONE rack in the bottom oven, a non-functional top oven (unless you like your cookies and biscuits raw on the top and charred on the bottom) and an intermittently working sensor - that, by the way, I rely on to use the top burners. If I could give this stove - and Sears Customer Service (Im looking at you, Cheryl) negative stars, I would.I tried today to give it one more go at getting this thing serviced by Sears since the aluminum foil that Ive had to wrap around the sides of the racks in the oven (so that they will take up some space and not collapse on me under the weight of a casserole dish) is going to need to be beefed up soon, but it was once again fruitless. I spent HOURS on the phone going through the merry-go-round of transfers from one department to another and in the end, spoke with NINE different people in different departments until I ended with the above esteemed Cheryl in Customer Solutions who listened patiently to my story (which, by this time I had been a little sick and tired of reiterating) and went on to tell me that since I hadnt purchased an extended warranty through them that I was out of luck.Really? Even though my first call to complain about this happened within months of owning it - when it was under the one year warranty? Again, she called to my attention that I never even had a service person out to my house. Yeah, no kidding Cheryl, because they had ME to do the work for them - which I did, by spending hours over the phone pressing this button, relaying the info to the tech on the phone, pressing that button, relaying the info. etc, etc. Sears did a really good job of stringing me along long enough that I was out of warranty and they could wash their hands of the whole thing. For generations, my family has been die-hard Sears appliance customers and have always had excellent products and service. That is a thing of the past. Get you in, sell you the appliance, and get you to spend even MORE money on a warranty. God knows one shouldnt expect a $2000 stove to last longer than a year... Ill be buying my appliances locally from here on out.
Kenmore Elite range model no 790-4101-3801 - This is the second time that my oven would not heat up past 100 after using my self-cleaning oven. My son also had problems with sears on his kenmore elite electric range. Everyone, from Sears to the CPSC appears to not care when we call to tell them that the range Door Shattered leaving glass all over the kitchen floor. He had it fix and it happen again. The first time the warranty covered it because it was not even six months old. The second time he paid to have it fix and it shattered a third time and he asked for them to replace the range and they offer a $50.00 dollar gift card that he could use to purchase a new range. He now has a range that the oven cannot be use because it is not safe without the outer glass. And I wonder how safe is my Range that the self-cleaning oven clause my oven not to warm up past 100 degrees... My range that my oven will not heat up more than 100 degree cost me $1741.00. My sons range that the oven door shattered 3 times cost $1850.00. They are both now 5 years old. Sad that sears and kenmore will never have us as customers.
Reasonable amount of time for cycle to be completed, clothes never came out ruin in any way, machine used a fair amount of water, but never exceed amount. Have use my Kenmore for years and have not had a problem yet, no problem of any kind, no dial slipping, no buttons sticking, no nothing. Received the machine I picked out without any dents or scratching marks on it. Same color all around, no fading. My Kenmore machine was not the cheapest but it was not the most expensive one either. It was the middle of the price range that I wanted to spend and I received everything I wanted on the machine.
This is my first smooth top 2 door oven from Kenmore. Before I had a coil oven which lasted for 23 years. It came with our mobile home and sold it (still in working order) before we got a Kenmore.
This range has a vent in the rear area of the burners. When I run the oven, very hot air blows out into the room from the oven. It is so hot that I cannot use the oven at all during the summer months and have burned my fingers by touching this unused part of the range too. I live in the CA central valley and have good air conditioning but it heats up my whole kitchen, running for up to 30 minutes after the oven/broiler has shut off. The manual confirms that heat from the oven comes thru the vent. I have never had a gas oven that does this. I paid $1274.99 plus tax & delivery for the stove in December of 2011 when remodeling. I had hoped for a good stove to last for a long time. Secondly, when you set the oven for 350 Degrees, it runs so cold that I have to set it up to at least 375 to complete the baking. I am so disappointed with my purchase that I have decided not to buy any more from Sears.
A Kenmore oven purchased about 7 years ago seems to have a faulty circuit breaker. The broiler turns on by itself. The oven apparently doesnt even need to be turned on. It nearly burnt my home down (several times). The only way to turn the broiler off was to pull the oven out of the wall and unplug the oven. Sears offered $150, which doesnt even cover repairs. And if posts are true, it doesnt even fix the problem. Make right on this. Look it up: Kenmore oven broiler. Dont risk your families’ lives with Kenmore! I just paid $750 for a new oven which you owe us for. I am not taking a chance with my family’s lives because of poor manufacturing and negligence of human safety. I will not drop this because I care about innocent people who believe their oven will not erupt in flames on its own. Start living up to human decency and take care of this. I am one of many but I will not let this drop.
I bought a Kenmore French door fridge 1-18-18 and on 10-27-19 it went out. The top does not cool. Had Sears repair come out and said it is not under any warranty. That it would cost over $1000.00 to fix. I called Kenmore and got nowhere with them. I called Deawoo and they also would do nothing about it. I now own a $1900.00 piece of junk. I will never and recommend no one ever buy anything Kenmore as it is not made in States and only has a 1 year warranty. They are junk. Nothing like when I was a kid and everything in the house was Kenmore. Worst thing I have ever bought. I will no longer buy, go to, ok deal with Sears or Kenmore ever again with anything. I am now selling my riding lawn mower, kitchen stove, washer and dryer before they break and I have more junk to find a way to get rid of.
Kenmore had the features we wanted, the color we preferred and the price range we wanted to stay in. Kenmore is also a recognized, popular brand. The dishwasher has met our expectations and I love the pot scrubber feature. I also like that I can turn off the drying cycle. It also lets me customize my load preference like light wash, pots and pans etc. However, sometimes the dishes arent totally dry even when I choose to have them dried. A few times Ive had to rerun the dishwasher because the dishes were still dirty and the casserole dish had baked on noodles.
Kenmore Elite Electric range: After running the pyrolytic cleaning cycle, the inner liner of the stove has warped. Except on the lowest level the wire racks will no longer support a load. I place a pan on the middle level (usual for baking) and the rack collapses!I paid Sears (~$100) to send a technician to diagnose the patently obvious problem. Still, they wouldnt do anything (out of warranty) except perform a $1,000 (my estimate for parts & labor) repair that would simply replace the warped parts with more of the same to repeat the performance after another cleaning cycle. I’ve sent letters to the president of Sears Canada, no luck. I have plans to fix it myself. I hope Sears keeps bleeding red ink. Sears will never sell me anything else!
I selected the Kenmore Electric Double Wall, Built In Oven 30, Model 790 48772901, October 2013, during the new construction of our retirement home. The oven was installed by a professional, licensed electrical contractor. My average usage of this oven was about one or two times a week; a little more frequently during the winter months. At about nine months old, the blower motor began making noises. My husband, a retired HVACR business owner, took apart the oven and found that the motor bearings were seizing up on the cooling/ventilating motor due to cheap manufacturing, not enough applied bearing oil, and poor design - the cooling/ventilating motor sits on top of the oven; consequently, absorbing a tremendous amount of heat. My husband was able to apply a large bath of (top of the line) bearing oil to keep it from seizing and we managed to limp along for about a year with this garbage cooling/ventilating motor.I went to the Kenmore parts site today to order a replacement. I was astounded to find that the website couldnt find the model number of my two year old oven! After several attempts, I gave up and went to another site (non Sears) that provides parts for multi brand appliances. Not only were they able to cross reference the part number for the cooling/ventilating motor, it was in stock and available for shipment immediately. Of course, the out of pocket cost was over $60.00 for a motor that, in the commercial refrigeration trade, would cost one about $20.00. I shudder to think of what Sears would have charged for the part! Not to mention the service call fee.I went through each page of the accompanying owners manual and schematics and found nothing with regard to a cooling/ventilating motor part number. The only information shown was the error codes. Of course, if the error code ** flashed on the oven screen, the consumer was advised by Sears to call their service department. Imagine that! These people dont want Harry Homeowner to repair their Kenmore items! Its just another way to ** money from the American purchaser. Once again, the average consumer is being subjected to cheap manufacturing, out of pocket expenses to repair a new item, and the inconvenience of making the repairs. Those without the know how to make their own repairs are forced to call Sears or another repair service and pay dearly.I am very angry with the retailers and manufacturing brokers in our country. We can no longer call them manufacturers because just about everything we purchase, was manufactured in a foreign country! I yearn for the appliances I had to leave in Baltimore. They were ten years old or older, but were manufactured so much better! I had no issues with my washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, ovens, freezers, or microwave. Most were GE, Kenmore or Whirlpool. Once upon a time, the manufacturing industries in this country took pride in what they made, how it was made, and how long it would stand the test of time. Today, the average consumer is subjected to planned obsolescence and the lifespans of our purchased products are becoming shorter and shorter.
We have been pleased with our refrigerators performance – it has been reliable and efficient. We have plenty of room in the fridge and freezer and we like that we can rearrange the shelves if needed. We are able to fit everything we need in the fridge. There is a lot of usable space on the door too. We like the overall appearance of our refrigerator – the stainless steel finish matches our other appliances and makes the kitchen look nicer and less dated than it did. Large appliances are expensive but, in this case, we felt like it was a good investment because its a brand that we trust and have had good experience with in the past.
We had both the washer and dryer and they were, although basic, very efficient. The pair was relatively quiet, and the washer had an automatic bleach dispenser. The dryer did a fair job. I believe these were near bottom of the cost curve. Even though we replaced both units, they were both in good operating condition after ten years. We gave them to a neighbor who had rental properties and they are still going strong there. There were some options that we did not have, and that we wanted, so we upgraded and looked quite awhile before deciding. We wanted an HE unit, and we wanted the bells and whistles that tell you when stuff is done. We wanted more settings on the dryer. So we went to Sears and actually found something that suited us very well. We ended up, however, purchasing Whirlpool, because of the customer service at Lowes. The units were white. Dirt tended to accumulate under the lid of the washer and it needed wiped out regularly (which probably should be done at any rate). They were, as I said, pretty basic. White, utilitarian. Kenmore appliances, of any type (and weve had several so I can say this from first-hand experience) are some of the best appliances available anywhere. The units range from basic to sophisticated, and the price tag increases as the options are added. In the long run the value is, in my opinion, excellent. I would highly recommend any Kenmore appliance.
Love my Kenmore gas range w/ convection oven. It has five burners and the one in the center I can use with a flat grill pan. I bake a lot and the oven works and holds the temp great. The oven has a self-clean cycle that works great.
I was a little skeptical at first because of the model of the fridge. However as I later found out, the fridge fit more than I expected, worked better, and saved my family money. Its durable, long lasting, and has more than enough space to fit anything in your freezer, fridge or what have you. Its sleek, interesting and reminded me of a futuristic type of refrigerator which indicates to me that the future of fridges is bright. Though I thought this product would be way out of my price range but with the help of a salesman, this turned out to be an incredibly easy to pay for product. I would honestly recommend this fridge to anybody.
Our Kenmore dishwasher has a fairly large capacity, sufficient for my small family. The dishwasher performs quietly and gets our eating utensils dried spotlessly. The only problem I have is that the controls are not easy to get at. In my case, the kitchen countertop overhangs the dishwasher controls. Other than that, this purchase has to be one of my best investments. We went to Sears to price appliance and wound up with a package deal (ie: refrigerator, gas stove, and the dishwasher). They are all Kenmores.
Thoroughly washed clothes without trouble. Never had a problem with it, continues to run after multiple years of use. Quiet as well, easy to use. I have had this washer for many years and see myself using it for many more to come. Would recommend to friends. Ive never had nor will I ever have a better washing machine. The appearance is sleek, innovative, and modern. It goes well with the interior of my home as well as the dryer that I own. I couldnt ask for a dryer that looks any different. The value is what you pay for, and in this case its well worth the price. It falls into a good range and is inexpensive compared to other washers.
I spent two hours trying to talk with someone that would help me find out if there is a recall on my range. The outside glass of my oven shattered in the middle of the night. Luckily no one was near the range. I had glass everywhere. I did notice on this site that there was a similar case on Aug 2, 2016, so I wanted to talk with someone to investigate this problem. After spending much time trying to talk to a real person then finally talking with a person that wanted to send a technician to diagnose what my range needed and the cost to have a technician come to my home would start at $89.00, I gave up and just ordered the glass. I am very worried that this has happened more than two times and someone could seriously get hurt.
I have owned Kenmore appliances, including freezers, refrigerators, stoves and washer dryers for almost 40 years. They are well-built, energy efficient and made in America. Their quality has remained a hallmark in the industry for generations. They are modern and technologically advanced and are built to last. They give you years of worry free service and a good value for your money. My family have bought Kenmore appliances from Sears for generations and we will continue to do so. I would recommend Kenmore to all cost conscious, quality seeking appliance shopper and not hesitate to stand behind Kenmore.
My Kenmore dishwasher was very fast and it did not make a bunch of loud noises like some dishwashers that I had owned prior. This specific model dishwasher had powerful jets. I cant recall a time when I owned my first Kenmore that I ever had to run my dishes through a second cycle. They always came out looking crystal clean. The dishwasher came with my first condo I bought and for the five years I lived there I had absolutely no problems at all with it. I own a Kenmore now because of it. I was told by the previous owners of the condominiums that the dishwasher and oven were brand new and had been installed a week earlier.
My new Kenmore range with convection oven ha aint peeling off where the oven vents. They say its cosmetic, not covered under warranty. Suggestions?
Kenmore Range Model 790.94452701 - The control board burned up 3 times in 7 years. We were afraid to leave the oven on and go outside for fear of the house burning down. Two times when it burned up it caused the oven to heat well over 500 degrees. Each time it burned up there were burnt wires and smoke. Replacing the board is easy, but not cheap and very inconvenient. We decided to purchase a new range rather than fix our Kenmore for the fourth time. Suffice to say it isnt a Kenmore.
My 1.8 year old water heater started producing water that is too hot. So, I turned the thermostat setting to Low. Still getting temps of as high as 147 - 157 F. Concerned that grandkids may get burned. If I adjust the setting even a little bit below Low, the temp drops to 92F. Note: Owners manual says Low setting should produce 110F water. Factoring in the possibility of short repeated heating cycles causing expected readings of 20F higher, it is still producing water 10-17F higher than expected with no ability to lower the temp without dropping too much (92F).2May17 - Sears Technician diagnosed and ordered gas control valve (thermostat). 10May17 - Sears Technician installed new valve. Would not start. He conferred with Sears and AO Smith tech support staff. They determined that the valve must be defective. Ordered new valve. Next morning I (the customer) tried heater once again. It worked fine, but produced same hot temps as before.15May17 - Sears technician returned. I shared my temp readings with him. He contacted Sears & AO Smith tech support. They concluded that gas valve was working properly. They rationalized that the problem was related to stacking (short heat cycles). I pointed out that even if we allow an additional 20F for that, it is 10-15F too high with no ability to lower the temperature to a proper range. They suggested installing a mixing valve and checking single handed faucets to see of having any cross-over issues (i.e. turn on cold but still pulling hot water). Closed call but told technician intended to register a product complaint with Sears/AO Smith but I was very satisfied with his service/help. Total labor cost for Service Call: $209. Original cost of heater install $1215.
Safety hazard - The design of the oven door is not safe. With the door open Thanksgiving morning, I walked into the door and the extremely sharp edge gashed my left leg causing me to have to have 12 stitches. I am attaching photos of my leg and also photos of the door of the stove.
Yesterday while baking, the inner glass door of my 3-year-old Kenmore oven exploded, sending hot glass shards onto my kitchen floor and into the oven. Has anyone begun a class action lawsuit regarding this product? I have read numerous online reports that Sears does not back this product by repairing or replacing the oven door or damage to the owner. I attempted reporting to Sears customer service and was guided to how to dispose of the oven.
Purchased range on March 19/2011. April 2015 I started to self cleaning, pushed the start and the oven died. Only the stove top works. Service came to repair and charged me $96.05 and told my husband the cost to repair would be approx. $1,000.00 plus tax & plus labour. They also informed him that this happens a lot with this brand and the manuf. does not care. I checked if there was a recall but I am not good with the computer and DID not find anything. I would never buy a Kenmore again and never shop at Sears again. I am cutting my Sears card after I finish.
My Kenmore oven has given me nothing but very good results. I use the oven several times a week using it for various items from fresh to frozen entrées. Package instructions work exceedingly well.
It has been reliable so far for 2 years and never an issue. Had one Kenmore microwave before for 15 years before it gave out and never an issue. They are worth the money and easy to use. I would recommend any product that is kenmore. Refrigerator, stove and microwave since I have owned all 3.
We bought a brand new Kenmore Elite Fridge with double french doors, top of the line a little over 3 years ago. Just after 3 years and the warranty ran out, so did the compressor. We also had bought a Kenmore oven, where the glass broke right before the warranty ran out. It really seems Kenmore is into planned obsolescence, and not making stuff to last anymore. Repair guy says parts and fix wont be in for 2 weeks. The experience has been bad considering you have to keep things on ice, and the slow repair turnaround. Id keep shopping and make sure you pick a brand that is more reliable.
I owned a Kenmore refrigerator for many years. I liked the interior arrangement and found it easy to work with. The Kenmore ran maintenance free for many years. I would recommend Kenmore appliances to anyone looking for quality and dependability.
It works well for us. It is a spare refrigerator for our garage. No performance concerns. Temp stays cold and havent experienced any problems so far. We use this mainly for beverages. So for our use, the size is sufficient. May be a bit small if a family is using as their only refrigerator. So obviously it isnt anything too fancy. However, it has a nice clean look. Matches other white appliances nicely. No complaints from me. Very good value for a midrange refrigerator. Again, this is what we use in our garage for beverages and some additional storage on holidays and such. Pleased with this refrigerator.
I purchased this stove (Kenmore Elite Range 79078303013) a couple of years ago. I called to order a replacement part and received the wrong one. Just to get a return label to return the wrong part and get the new one has taken 5 phone calls and over 5 hours on the phone in different occasions! So I called again to replacement the part and its no longer manufactured! I am being sold a replacement part for 3 times of its original price. I am very disappointed with the quality of the product. Did I mentioned I purchased a stainless steel range for it to have Plastic all around it? I hate it!!! I feel cheated on this purchase. I didnt notice it was plastic top range trim on the stove until it Broke. By that time it was too late to return. I cook a lot, when ever you use the oven and stove it brakes with the heat. After all its plastic. After spending 3 hours just today to order part and sure it will fit no solution was made. When I ASKED TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR OR MANAGER I NEVER GOT TO. Waited over 2 hours just to find my call dropped or accidentally disconnected. Over all I will never purchase from Sears ever again!! This stove is not near a Stainless steel stove. My part was never ordered or my questions were never answered. I have a stove with broken trim fairly new.
My husband and I went to Sears appliance in Clifton March 6, 2014. The salesperson was rushing to make a sale, but we insisted on asking questions like, Can the microwave be used with the rack that is inside it? He told us they sell them with the rack because it can be used with the rack. We paid $400 for the Kenmore over the range microwave oven. We even purchased the extended warranty. With both the manufacturers warranty and the extended warranty we felt safe. Well, the microwave caught on fire and when we called we got a royal run-around for 3 hours. Sears blamed the manufacturer, the manufacturer blamed Sears, then Sears blamed me for using the microwave. The consumer is now blamed for using the appliance as the sales person said it could be used. This microwave has a rack to be used when cooking. It worked well for 6 months, then it caught on fire. When we asked about the warranty and manual, it turns out that the consumer is at fault no matter what happens. My house could have caught on fire. I have a microwave oven that should not be sold because of its tendency to catch on fire or blow up. The techs used the words blow up, not me. It is a fire hazard. Sears will neither replace nor will they repair the microwave. The people at Sears dont know that Kenmore is a part of that company and that they have the same numbers. Its ridiculous. I took pictures of the charred section. I thought Sears was better than that. I guess the best suggestion is dont buy microwave ovens from Sears. I checked other reviews and they all give terrible reviews. I should have read those first.
Its a durable dishwasher and cleans dishes very good. No oils and dirts and cleans germs. It looks very nice in the outside and is proven that its a good quality product. The size of the dishwasher is just perfect, not too big and not too small. All the dishes fits good and have some places for the little utensils and other stuffs you need to put in it. The dishwashers appearance is very unique and really nice to look at. I can say it is very eye catching and looks really sturdy. It is indeed a good quality product. The dishwashers value is perfect for anyone. It is very affordable and with the great value, it gives you work that not all dishwashers can do. I will recommend this product as it is proven and tested.
I have owned a 2005 model Kenmore washer and dryer. They had several convenient settings for any size load, timing, heating/cooling on both the washer and the dryer. Size efficiency for smaller areas. Decent price range. And especially the warranty.
Model 790.7323 - Last year, after the Kenmore stove that had been in the condo since 1982 had a meltdown and I went and replaced it. I do not cook. Use the microwave or toaster oven. I recently gave the toaster oven away to clear up counter space. Decided to heat up some Publix side dressing. Tried it again around Thanksgiving and it was dead. I got the oven in April 2014, and believe it or not, I am not I do not cook. It is just two aging dogs and me. I work, so it is usually a microwave meal. It still looks showroom new. I called Sears, and they will do nothing. They want to send me an outrageous warranty for a year, which will cost more than the stove and send out a tech at 60 a pop until they fix it. One time and it quit working! I think they should take the stove back and replace it! I was not even cooking -- just reheating! Sears used to mean Quality! Go elsewhere next time. I will never ever step in a Sears Store!!!
I have been using this product for over a year now and it has been working very efficiently. When I load the dishes, the washer removes all food and stains in minutes and makes the dishes like plates, spoons and even big vessels absolutely clean. It states that it removes 99.99% bacteria while washing them. The dishes do not feel wet when I remove them. They are very dry and I do not need to wipe them with a cloth. It is larger in capacity than my previous dishwasher even though it looks smaller. There is plenty of room on the top rack for tall glassware and the top tray lifts and lowers for bigger pots. The sleek, nondescript stainless steel finish allows it to go with pretty much any brand of appliance that you may have in the rest of the kitchen. The top buttons are aesthetically pleasing. It looks good in my kitchen. This dishwasher was an excellent value and beat all other dishwashers in its price range. It has great price and it looks like it should have cost more.
I really liked its price and its finishes that looked good material and high quality. It was a bargain and a good value for my money that I could invest. It is a very reliable refrigerator, small but does its functions well that are to cool and freeze my products. To be a mid-range brand it worked well for me. The fact that its doors are small is what displeases me about the model. I would have liked some doors more in line with my needs that would occupy more space for the products.
The over-the-range Kenmore microwave caught on fire where the rack attaches to the internal framing. I called Sears and was passed along to FIVE different people all saying that there is no recall on this model (80323 model # 79080323310; serial #KG 60953623). Clearly there is a problem and Sears/Kenmore is not willing to acknowledge a faulty product. I have found similar examples from other customers where the microwave caught on fire in exactly the same location - where the rack inserts into the internal framing. FAULTY PRODUCT! DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!!
Kemore Range Model 970503720 - My wife and I have had three brand new stoves stop working on us. The most recent stove was a Kenmore Model 970C503720 which is a convection fan. This was an upgrade from Sears from the basic model which did not have the convection. Soon after purchase on stove number one, the clock stopped which controls the oven temperature. This would not allow the oven to heat up higher that 287 degrees. We had the control board replaced but it died as well. We received a replacement stove, same problem occurred; then, we upgraded to our current stove and the same problem occurred. Sears indicated that this will be the last time they will help us because nobody else has this problem and they have suggested that if it happened again we must have a wiring problem. Nothing electronically with regard to the stove has changed in our house and before we bought these three new stoves, our previous stove ran just fine for 20 years. It is my belief that the control boards are defective. So now we are going to approach Sears for a fourth time; concerned that we will not get satisfaction. We are willing to upgrade to something that does not have this kind of control board but did chose to stay with this design to avoid having to buy new pots and pans to accommodate the newer cooking surfaces.
DO NOT BUY FROM SEARS! Please help to get Sears to own up to their stoves that are fire hazards... I purchased a stove at Sears 3 years ago... has plastic handle on top of oven door and is self cleaning. I used the self clean for first time and got little brown spots on handle.. called and their response was use Mr Clean eraser... spots got worse after each self clean. On December 22 2014 I put on my self clean for 2 hours, left the house and came to find out my oven door had melted! I called Sears and they said would send out tech to look at it but I would get charged for it (no warranty). I told them that it was a serious fire issue and I was not going to pay for tech to come out and tell me Yep it burned and is no good! Warnings tell you not to put plastic near high/intense heat! They said someone would contact me about the issue... after repeated attempts, no one got back to me until end of January!I had to purchase new stove as this one was unusable ($900). Sears kept asking me for model # but I did not have as I had gotten rid of old stove and for them to review the Dec 22 call... This went on until last Friday and all they could do was offer me a $50 gift card!!! They acknowledged that they screwed up and this was the best they could do! Sears does not care about their products or customers. I am out $900 because of Sears and most of you know that I am a single income parent. Worst case is that had I used the major self clean option, my house could have burned! 3 days before Christmas and Sears did not care! PLEASE POST THIS AS PEOPLE WHO HAVE PLASTIC OVEN DOOR HANDLES NEED TO BE AWARE THAT THE STOVE CAN CATCH FIRE! PLASTIC AND HIGH HEAT DO NOT GO WELL TOGETHER.
Kenmore Ultra Bake Super Capacity Free Standing Gas Oven - Our oven stopped working right before Thanksgiving of 2012. It would not hold a temperature or even turn on at times. We had the control panel replaced for $300, and it got us through Thanksgiving. The oven originally cost $600 so to replace the control panel was very expensive. Right after Thanksgiving, it began to work inconsistently again. Our most recent incident was where the oven stayed on and increased the heat even though we turned it off and the control panel said that the oven was off. The gas was still on and clearly, the oven was increasing in temperature. We then got the error message E2-F3 which is the warning that it was too hot. We could not get it to turn off so we called the gas company to come right away. The gas man that showed up said that if we had cut the power to the house, the gas would have remained on unless we turned the gas valve off as well. This stove is too dangerous to keep. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
I should have rated the stove at 5 but I did 4 for selfish reasons. I have had this stove for 15 years and all of the featured functions still work. I’m very satisfied with with the outcome of this stove. The only thing is that after this long time of usage it tends to make an odd sound when it is overheated. It sounds like a fan blowing. Otherwise it works very well.
On 1-28-18 we bought a NEW Kenmore Elite Convection Oven with Warmer Drawer. also bought the Warranty Protection. Total sale $2,084.43. First one came damaged. March 2018 received the second one. Good shape, but the delivery guys left clear tape on the inside and left the oven on. When I opened the door the gasket pull off the oven. Took 2 service call to get one installed right. Glass Top is a pain in the butt to clean. You have to use Kenmore Cleaner. Nothing Else Works. Convection (Double Fan) is horrible. Bakes Terrible. No matter how much I try either things are way overdone or doughy in the middle. I hate it. I have had a convection oven for 17 years and I have loved every minute of it. Used convection at all time. Not with this oven! Its is just beyond me how it is so terrible. Sears repair guys came 5 times so far. Now the bottom drawer is rubbing on the underside of the oven where the heating element is. When the oven heats it is expanding the metal under the oven. Now they tell me it will be a Major Rebuild. I was told my a Warranty Supervisor (Alisha) that if the tech came out and confirmed that the problem was indeed what I was saying I would be issued a refund ticket for a new or different oven. Well now they (Milly a different Supervisor) are saying that in order to issue that the oven will have to go under the same repair 4 times in order for that to happen! So 2 repair guys will be coming this month and it will take 3+ hours to repair a defective oven at the cost of about $400.00. The repair guy said he has never done this before so he is bringing another guy with him. So yet another day interrupted by a Sears Repairman that should not even be repairing this oven. We should be able to return it for a full refund or an exchange. Oh and the repair guy first attempted to fix the drawer by bending the sides with a block of wood. Now the drawer is bent and the issue was never the drawer, but the bottom element causing the oven to warp downward against the drawer. It is worse than before he came! When the oven cools it pops back up. It is a factory defect and we should not be treated this way! I stopped using the convection after one repair guy reset it over 35 degrees upward. My cookies were burnt in 2.5 minutes and doughy in the middle. I reset it back to factory temp and gave up. The oven bakes fine at reg bake, but the convection part of it sucks! I have spent hours on the phone with Sears Warranty. I have gone through things like, We cant find your information, You didnt buy a new oven, lost information, complaints not being documented after they say they are writing it down on our account. Either they lie about their names or the next person lies about now knowing another Supervisor. I request a Supervisor and they stall and keep asking me how they can help me. Oh and if you call Sears Warranty and get a gal named Kathleen, just hang up and call again until you get a different person. She is the worst. She cant find anything. She cant type even your number in right. I have dealt with her enough to know just to hang up. If you tick her off shell say she is transferring you, but youll be disconnected. We are now considering loading up our oven on a dolly and taking it back to the Sears Showroom with all the receipts and demanding a refund. Wish us luck. DONT BUY FROM SEARS!!! We have been Sears customers since 1976 and loved them. Now they are the worst company ever! Customers are NOT important to them and neither is keeping their word! Warranty Persons Names to take note of: Kathleen, Milly and Alisha (who now doesnt exist according to Milly).
I did choose the slide-in model not realizing that there is an oven size compromise, so it is no fault of Kenmore. The programming features are too many to understand, too. But oven and warming drawer work great and the placement of top burners is good, however, I wish there was a medium-size burner for saucepans and also wish I could use cast iron on the smooth top. Overall, Ive turned out many great 25 pound turkeys with all the trimmings for Thanksgiving.
The two-year old Kenmore stainless steel gas range I bought in November of 2010 was in the house. On August 7th 2011, I had opened the oven door and brushed against the corner edge and received a bad cut. It took 20 stitches to close it up. Has this happened to anyone before?
About 2 years after we purchased our oven from Sears the handle fell off. My husband repaired it. Then it happened again. This time the entire door fell apart when the handle came off. We called the local Sears and they came and said it was fixed. Nope. It happened again. The glass inside the door now shifts around due to the unresolved problem. Its a safety issue because I have been burned and Im afraid the glass will shatter one of these times. Sears is a terrible company and Kenmore products are not made well at all.
We were so happy with the features of our side by side refrigerator. Until after 2 years after purchase it stopped cooling. My old cheap fridge that it replaced lasted 10.5 years. I purchased this more expensive refrigerator as I thought LG/Kenmore was a good brand (also bought a stove & washer dryer by them. Upon researching the problem, looks like there is a class action suit against LG due to faulty compressors failing after 3 years, which they claim LG knew about, but kept selling these. Now I am out a freezer full of meat and have an expensive repair. THIS IS NOT FAIR. I had a repairmen come diagnose the problem and he said it is the compressor. $300 for parts and $600 for labor. That IS $900 to fix my $1400 fridge. A MAJOR APPLIANCE SHOULD BE BACKED BY BY AT LEAST A FIVE YEAR PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY. I was not expecting to buy a new fridge every 2 years.
We purchased a Kenmore Elite range in 2012. It worked well for a while then the computer board failed and the oven would not heat. This first occurred December of 2014. I was without an oven for the entire month of December. Then on November 28, 2015 the same issue started. We called for repair and were treated rudely and they would not re-order the same parts from last repair, so we had to wait for a tech on December 2. The tech came out. He was rude and not helpful. He didnt even inspect the oven. He said it was the computer board and ordered the part. We then had to wait for parts to arrive and schedule the next available appointment on December 11. The tech installed the board and the oven worked for 4 hours and broke again. We called customer service again and we were told that there was nothing he could do for us because it had not been 24 hours since the tech was at our house. He did say he would put a notation for the tech to call us the next day. No one called on December 12, so on December 13 we called again. The CSR finally agreed to order the parts without waiting for a service call, and scheduled the next available date for repair on December 21. We specifically said we did NOT want the same tech to come out. On December 21 we were quite shocked when the same tech showed up, was as rude as ever, refused to the install the board and only installed the igniter (which he failed to order on the first repair). All in all, my oven was broke for almost the entire month of December. I will NEVER make another appliance purchase from Sears again.
Our 6-year old Kenmore 790 electric range made a pop noise and began emitting acrid electrical smoke the other night (2/26/2015). A repair person was dispatched today and we were told that the range requires $575 worth of repairs, which cannot be performed until March 10th. At that point we will have been without an oven or stove for nearly 2 weeks. I am absolutely furious that after just a little research, I find that Sears has been selling a faulty piece of junk. Had I not been in the room to turn off the oven, pull it away from the wall and unplug it, the stupid piece of crap could have burned down my house!!!! I am filing a complaint with CPSC and will make sure that I spread the word every place I can to ensure that everyone knows that Sears is selling a lemon. Not. Cool.
I purchased this Kenmore 94173 range online and so wish I did not. My old ovens control panel exploded and I decided to get a new oven versus repairing the old one. I do like the stove. My one issue is keeping the black glass top smudge/fingerprint free. The glass top is just about impossible to keep shiny. I have tried the recommended glass top cleaners by Kenmore and they have failed horribly. No matter which product I have tried, nothing so far has removed the smudges. Even though the glass top is clean, it looks terrible. Really disappointed that Kenmore does not realize the frustration of black glass tops. Now I place teapots and the like on the stove to hide Kenmores idiocy.
The washer is by Kenmore and I have not had any repairs in the time I have owned the machine. This washer does the job. Happy with its performance. Clothes are clean. Not looking to replace. Will keep this washer for the long term. This washer is white and is a standard washer with a top load. It has an agitator and a lot of buttons. I use warm for my whites and cold for my colors. I looked at a lot of machines. It was not at the top or at the bottom of the range. I therefore felt I got good value.
I bought this over the range microwave from Sears a couple of years ago. I thought that 1000 watts would be plenty. However most food that you buy for the microwave directions, usually state 1100 watt ovens. The food doesnt seem to stay hot as long as food cooked on the range or in a conventional oven.
My wall unit lasted for 13 years, but I think it overheated the circuit board when are used the Clean setting so I will definitely never use that function on any oven I own. Since then, there is an error code on the digital display and it shuts off intermittently while trying to cook or bake something.
Kenmore over the stove microwave. Four years ago the handle cracked on the lower attachment point. So, I went online & ordered a new handle. Im a retired Maintenance Master Electrician 47 yrs so replacing a handle should not be a problem. Ha Ha. Was I wrong I removed the door & the plastic trim from door, I gave up an hour later and called Kenmore for service. The technician came out & we both worked for another hour with no success. He said, Lets order a new door. About 10 days later he came back with the new door. He said that he was very sorry that new door cost $300.00, thats half the cost of the microwave new. It was over $700.00 on sale. But what are you going to do? So I said yes. He felt so bad he did not charge me for the service call. So now here we are on Sunday, my wife finds a piece of black plastic on the stove top. She looks & its from the bottom on the handle on the microwave. It has broken in the same as the last time. I told that I was not spending another $300 for another door. So, while I was cleaning the door with alcohol, I found a crack in the door on the bottom to the left of the handle. I got some 5min Epoxy & have glued the handle. Remember there are only 2 people in this house & we are 70 yrs. old. I will be looking for a commercial grade microwave to replacement this one but I guaranteed that it will not be a Kenmore or a Whirlpool.
The refrigerator was well-built, simple and before we had to replace it, it lasted quite a while to what I imagined the normal life of a refrigerator should be especially with so many people in and out constantly for food or ice. Towards the end it didnt stay as cold, especially not when actually filled. Had to rearrange the refrigerator periodically, but overall very roomy. Held enough to readily feed 5 people daily, 2 of which usually had to have their own meals. The refrigerator has no fancy gadgets but easy to clean.
My dishes always come out great. I never have to rewash. All I ever do is just put them up. It is fast and not too loud. Never disappoint. The size was perfect for my kitchen. I dont have a big kitchen so I need a med dishwasher. This one is great. I do not see why you need a bigger one unless big family. I needed one in black so they got me one. It is sleek and I love how it matches my other Kenmore stove and microwave. Now I just need Kenmore fridge. The price was great. One of the key factor I bought the item. And I found that I got great performance for the value. I love my dishwasher and always will.
We purchased a Kenmore wall oven in late 2012. Recently we used a heavy pot and the middle and lower rack fell down. Sears service came and stated that the walls are too thin and bent when there is weight on the racks... a design problem. They wanted us to buy new wall parts - with the same design problem - to replace the existing wall parts.
I purchased a Kenmore Elite wall oven with the additional warranty about a month ago. The first time I used the self-cleaning feature it discolored the metal on the bottom of the oven and turned a huge area white. I called to have it looked at and the Kenmore service department sent someone to look at it. After they saw it they said it was cosmetic and there was nothing they can do about it and I should be cleaning it myself. So they have a self-cleaning feature in the oven but advise you not to use it. The store I purchased it from said they felt they should replace the bottom. The metal must be defected. I had a second service call with Kenmore and was told the same thing: it was my fault for spilling something in the oven. This oven is only a month old and I feel this is a manufacturer’s defect. The way they refuse to do anything makes me regret buying it and buying the extended warranty. I would like the oven fixed and thoroughly checked out to make sure not only the metal is fixed but that the self-cleaning feature is working correctly. I would like the oven to be replaced or if this is a common complaint with these ovens, I would like to get my money back and buy a different brand. I am disappointed in Kenmores response to this issue with their oven.
My husband and I bought a Kenmore Elite refrigerator in October 2011. At the same time we also bought a stove, microwave, and dishwasher all Kenmore appliances. In December of that year our refrigerator started giving us an ER 1F error. We called and they sent a repairman out to look at it. They told us it was the ice maker blower motor. They replaced it and it was working fine. About 4 months later the same error occurred. They came back out and replaced the ice maker blower motor and the circuit board control that was suppose to fix the problem. It went out again and we tried to get them to replace the refrigerator but they wouldnt. Our warranty ran out in October of 2012. I had to pay $280.00 to have the same blower motor replaced about a month ago. Everyone of the repair men have told me that we are not the only ones with this problem. Why dont the company do something to fix it? The same motor has been replaced 4 times on my refrigerator. That should tell them that there is a problem.
I purchased a Kenmore Electric Built-in oven, model 790 in 2011. Today the fan will not shut off. I had to turn the breaker off. The oven racks are also falling down which is becoming extremely scary and I am afraid to use the oven. I will be calling Sears tomorrow but suspect after reading all these other similar reviews to expect nothing from Sears other than to say they will send someone out. What happened to dependable products and dependable stores? I always looked to Sears and their products in the past but no more!!!
Its great. I would recommended it. Since I have had it, it has worked very well and has not let me down... not once. I have not had to get it fixed or anything and works as good as when first got it. Have no complaints and is good value for money. Doesnt spin loud like a lot of other washer and dryers. It just looks like any other average washer or dryer. It doesnt look horrible and comes with a wide range of choices such as colors, etc. Its not the cheapest brand but you get what you pay for. I would rather pay more and get a machine that I know works very well and is reliable.
I furnished a new house with all Kenmore Elite appliances in October 2010: Washer/Dryer, Central Vac, Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher. All have had issues and repairs except for the dishwasher which is rarely used. Most recent, the oven door simply exploded on its own. This is when you have to wonder about a companys credibility when selling such junk. Wheres the consumer protection when product like this can cause bodily injuries? I would never buy anything from Sears again. Its time to cut up my Sears card.
This Kenmore oven is great! Its big and had room for multiple food items to bake, broil and warm up. I love the timer that is on it, very helpful. The touch screen is above and out of reach of small children, so they cant accidentally start the oven. Also the knobs to turn on the flame, you have to push then turn to light the flame, which is harder for a child to do. I have had this stove for over 5 years, never a problem with it. Very easy to clean as well. Great stove/oven overall.. I have the black one too, matches my kitchen, lol. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great stove..
Our Oven/Stove is a Induction Stove top and its wonderful, the best appliance we have ever owned. Set the temperature the same for cooking items and get great results. Cools quickly, no burning your fingers. The confection setting for the Oven works so much better than a standard oven as well, cooks more evenly. Love this appliance.
Purchased Kenmore Stainless Steel Cooktop Stove Sept 2015, now 5 months old, noticed rust bubbling up on the front door and lower draw panel about two months ago. At first I thought it was just a food stain but it would never clean up. Contact Sears repair, repairman sent and I was told not covered under their one year warranty because it is a cosmetic issue. I was then told that the stove is not really all stainless steel but partial and has other alloys mixed into it which is probably why it is rusting. I said that nowhere did it say this is not a 100% stainless steel and this is a definite consumer fraud, and misrepresenting the product as stainless. He said that is the way they all are at the $500 price you paid. Pure stainless steel stove would cost $4,000-$5,000. I was mislead to believe this was a stainless steel product, I am left with a new rusting 5 month old stove that no one will do anything about. BEWARE OF YOUR NEXT RUSTING KENMORE PRODUCT!!
Defective and dangerous. Stove five years old. Walls of the oven suddenly retracted. Racks dont fit and they fall. It cannot be repaired, unless the oven is replaced at a big cost. I wont buy a Kenmore stove again, and wont recover to anybody. They are dangerous. There are a lot of people with the same complaint and Sears wont do anything about it.
We have had this oven for 5 years. In the 5 years that we have had it it has had a minimum of 2 repairs. I clean it with the automatic cleaner and something burns out in the oven. The last time I needed to wait several weeks for the part and make a second appointment for 2 servicemen to come out to pull the oven out of the wall. It is so obvious that there is a flaw with this oven. Again, I made the mistake of using the automatic oven cleaner and I am again without an oven!! It is so frustrating and Sears suggested that I google it. Not the kind of service I expect. I will never buy a Sears product again. Very disappointing.
Lasted a long time before I purchased a new refrigerator. No problems with it until it was worn out. Reliable and freezer kept food well. It fit my needs at the time. With a family and grandkids, I needed something larger and I moved up to stainless steel. The freezer was a bit small, but it was appropriate for the fridge size. It was basic white refrigerator. Nothing exceptional, but it served the purpose for what I needed. It was easy to clean and maintain with mild soap and water. It was a good refrigerator for the price. It was comparable if not a bit better in the price range with similar models. Its a good choice if youre not ready for a more expensive stainless steel model.
I would like a little louder alarm, I would also like to have a plug in on the back panel. I also would like to make it easier to clean inside of the glass. Otherwise I really enjoy my electric stove. The last one I had lasted 24 years of hard use. Since I love to cook and bake.
Burn hazard due to oven racks falling. Apparently this is a well-known and well-documented hazard. These ovens are manufactured by Frigidaire for Kenmore and Jenn-Air with only the cosmetics being different. Same defect in both. Jenn Air has recalled and replaced the defective products, Sears is in denial. The problem is that when the self-cleaning mode is used, the oven sidewalls expand, allowing the racks to fall, resulting in burns. So far, weve been lucky, but if a small child or pet were in the vicinity... it could be tragic. We purchased all high end Kenmore Elite when we redid our kitchen. The factory service was a joke. We filed a complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and will be sending a demand letter to Sears and Frigidaire.
Love this ice maker and cold water. Very economical also. Has shelves that you can move to suit your needs and easy to clean. The side of the refrigerator has so much room for milk, soda. They can fit any size soda bottle. Its 25 cubic. It is fantastic and meets all my family needs. You can arrange the shelves for height to fit your family needs. It has 2 drawers on the bottom for vegetables and cold cuts. Its freezer has loads of shelves and a huge slide out bin on the bottom. It freezes excellent, nothing is ever soft. I own the stainless steel one. It is very attractive and easy to clean with Windex and paper towels. I love the sleek modern look in my kitchen. It goes with any color on any other appliances you might own. It really looks like an expensive appliance but it was very reasonable price at my Sears store. It freezes very fast so food is not ruined and nothing has to be thrown out which saves you lots of money in the long run.
ANOTHER KENMORE 790 SERIES FRONT GLASS PANEL EXPLOSION! I have twice, in an approximately two-year period, had the same disturbing incident many others here have described. Twice, the entire glass front of the oven surface forcefully shattered all over the kitchen floor and adjacent room. When the first incident occurred, the company promptly replaced the glass front and assured us that this was an isolated incident. When the second incident occurred, the representative reported that someone would come to our home to replace the glass, but that we were twenty days out of warranty. Any expense would be ours. It is clear to me, a non-engineer, that the nature of the design is hugely flawed and very dangerous. Others of my friends have Kenmore ovens. While their handles meet a secure oven metal piece, our handle meets glass front surfacing. A heating temperature of as little as 350 degrees resulted in this near tragedy. I would not dare to try the self cleaning feature. While I have always been satisfied with Kenmore products, THIS OVEN IS A RISK TO YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR COMPANION ANIMALS. IT MUST BE RECALLED. Seeing the consistent number of unresolved complaints, we, the consumers, need to consider a class-action-suit. I NEED TO HEAR FROM AS MANY OF YOU WITH SIMILAR NEAR TRAGIC INCIDENTS AS POSSIBLE. I cant guarantee results, but it is clear that the Kenmore brand has callously ignored this risk to our health and safety.
We were excited about our new Kenmore oven. It was installed today and it took more than one hour to reheat the oven to 400*. After turned off the oven, the fan was on for a while. Its also very loud oven. Its new and we already called Sears for service. Im having red flags already and not sure if I will keep this oven. Do yourself a favor do NOT buy Kenmore.
My Kenmore washer and dryer lasted for over 15 years and no problem. I believe to be a customer for life. I also have a Kenmore Fridge and stove top. The only reason all of my appliances are not Kenmore is because I did not do the purchasing for them.
My washers performance has been great. It gets the job done. It has lasted longer than any other brand. It cleans the biggest material, which would be my comforter. It had endured one of my king size comforter and a number of occasions. Also has endure tons of clothes piled on high without ever messing up. It is white with easy to read settings. I like how the controls are easy to read and adjust if needed to be changed on a different setting, due to the clothing difference. It was/is my price range for the right amount of size and settings for my family. It has held up to its value so many times and I see a few more years with it as well.
Not satisfied with Kenmore products. I bought dishwasher, stove washer, and dryer from them. All my appliances have had issues. Thankful I bought outsource warranty company. Only they cannot cover refrigerator compressor. Said that it was covered by Sears. Now dealing with Sears warranty they want to charge 89.00 for service call. If they find more wrong they will charge me for the parts. Never will I buy from Sears ever again. When you call them you can barely understand what they are saying. They hung up on me because I want to talk with manager. After reading all the reviews I struggle what to do.
Purchased a replacement Kenmore model 79094192310 convection range in January 2015. In December 2015, oven heat went wild and would not turn off until I turned off breaker. Called service since still under one year warranty. Girl assured me it was a bad heat probe, even though I told her I was sure it was a blown controller. Delaying Christmas baking waiting a week on scheduled tech and probe. Of course, tech arrives and assures me the controller is bad. Although his computer said he had the part on his truck, he did not and ordered replacement scheduled for yet another week later. Totally unacceptable. I then ordered the part online from another supplier with one-day shipment. Paid for the part myself. I will install myself. Tech assured me the range was made by Frigidaire, however, part supplier told me this model is made by Electrolux. Whatever. Poor quality. Will never buy Kenmore again. BUYER BEWARE!
We bought the Sears Kenmore Elite double wall oven and the problem is that every time you cycle the oven through the clean cycle, the oven will not work. This has happened 3 times already where you have to pull the oven out of the wall (enclosure) and hit or replace the thermal switch to make the oven work. We have insurance through Consumers Power and they come out for the fix but there is definitely a serious design flaw with the oven. I called Sears and they said, the 1-yr. warranty is expired, and, have a nice day. We are never again purchasing from Sears.
My mother is a veteran of WWII but may be defeated by her Sears Kenmore oven. She has a model 790 in wall oven which is an obvious lemon. It will frequently fail to complete a cycle (shuts off before cooking is done) and has ruined several batches of food. The problem appears to be a computer control module. While I was there over the thanksgiving holiday it abruptly locked up (as though about to go into self clean mode) with the holiday turkey inside. Fortunately we were able to locate the plug and unplug the thing (which still did not unlock the oven, but at least the dinner was not incinerated). We were worried about a fire and are grateful that it did not happen while we were out of the room. She has had at least four failures in the last year, but since the problem is intermittent (only once was it still malfunctioning when the tech arrived) it cant be verified for warranty replacement. The available service calls are limited to two days a week by the company Sears contracted with, so almost impossible to get the problem solved. Calls to Sears for repairs are often unreturned. Parts are apparently hard to come by (the control module was replaced, for example, but the part was ordered in February, arrived in August). Really disappointed in Sears... I was raised as a Sears customer, but am alienated by the way they treated my mom and disgusted by the drop in reliability. Used to think I could count on them, but no more.
I bought this washer 6 years ago and honestly I cannot complain. I have a large family, 7 people, counting myself, live in my household and you can imagine the amounts of clothes I wash in a weekend and this washer has never failed me. I am a proud Kenmore owner. I am not a washer owner only, I also have a stove and a fridge, for around the same amount of time and havent had any issues with neither of them.
I just purchased this range Friday after Thanksgiving 2015 and less than a week the burner caps got SOMETHING on it and it wont come off. The touch pad is ultra-sensitive when cleaning. (You can turn on the warmer, oven light, or even set the timer.) This is very frustrating. You have to WIPE WITH A WET, SOAPY cloth then a dry, no lint cloth so that it doesnt smudge. That also goes for the stainless. This range costs a mint too much to have to go through the inconvenience of this clean-up. As far as all the functions of the range, they seem to be working fine. Give me a couple of months and I will get back to you as to whether I am satisfied with this purchase.
I chose this specific dishwasher brand because it matched all of my other appliances in the house, refrigerator and stove and it was the biggest bang for the buck at the time. The features that I like with this dishwasher, can hold all of my dishes and glasses and it cleans them thoroughly without leaving an ugly residue behind. Also, I really like that the racks on this dishwasher hold all of my dishes and glasses and the dishwasher door has all of the buttons on top and out of the way.
Purchased Kenmore model 106.72153 Cold Spot Refrigerator at Sears in April 2013 along with Kenmore microwave, Kenmore dishwasher & Kenmore stove. The Kenmore refrigerators compressor and evaporator failed. Cost of labor & parts to fix over $1100. Only two senior occupants using the appliance. I attempted to discuss with Sears Manager at Sears Concord Mall in Wilmington DE, but before I finished explaining I was told there was nothing he (Sears or Kenmore) could do. Didnt want to hear a word I said or discuss possibilities. I was actually considering purchasing another Kenmore if an agreement could have been at least discussed. I have been a Sears customer and Kenmore purchaser for over 40 years. So much for customer loyalty and customer service.
We have a 5 and 1/2 month old new home with all new appliances and this Kenmore microwave oven went out five weeks later. It took five weeks to get them out for repairs. It went out again in five weeks. He put everything new in that he thought would make it work. Now about five weeks later, it quit working again. Almost three weeks later, they will be back. We are using an Emerson oven from Wal-Mart we have had for years. There is only two people living in this house. I am 72 and my wife is 70. We are very careful and use our appliances with care. This is our first new home and have bought from Sears for years. We are very, very disappointed in this handling and oven. Could you please give us the service we have given you over the years? We are Christian people who expects the same service as we have given. It is apparent that this is a lemon oven and we expect your cooperation in this matter. We are very disgusted in the oven. We wait upon you for help. Thank you.
I purchased a Kenmore oven (model 92703, stainless steel, 5 burner, one rapid boil, convection, self cleaning) from a local Sears appliance store in June 2011 for $850. In December 2015, it stopped working, and the repair guy showed us the electrical panel was burned. We decided to be on the safe side and replaced the whole thing for $330 (plus the $100 service call fee). Almost exactly one year later the broiler element is out, we pulled off the back panel yesterday and sure enough, the electrical panel is burned again. So its a poorly made product, and its cost me over $1000 to own this oven for just over 5 years. It was nowhere near worth that amount of money. Dont ever buy a Kenmore range.
We purchased our house from the original owner and have had nothing but problems with the oven racks. They never used the oven, so were unaware of the problem. It is Model # C 970-418232, Serial # NF70817966. We have had the racks fall in the middle of baking something NUMEROUS times, finally with one incidence causing a serious burn. This is unacceptable! I have read that others have had the same issues, but there have been no resolutions as of yet. It is not under warranty anymore, and I dont think that this should be called a warranty issue, but should be recalled due to the risk of VERY SERIOUS burns, items breaking when rack falls, etc!!! We should be able to SAFELY use ANY of our oven racks on ANY of the shelf levels! My mother has also been burned by our oven, and my children are forbidden to use it! Has ANYONE been compensated for this problem? Has Sears ever replaced any of the racks and given the owner the correct size? I look forward to hearing more about this from other owners, and would love to hear back from Sears! This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS problem that needs to be fixed!
I have had no problems with the refrigerator I bought at Sears. I have had the refrigerator for over 2 years now, and am very satisfied with its operation. It is the three-door model with the freezer on the bottom. I will have to say if you are older, like myself, you would probably do better by getting one with the freezer located in a different place. I find it difficult to bend over or kneel for a period of time to locate something in the freezer. Other than this self-inflicted problem, I would have to say that the Kenmore refrigerator has proven to be an excellent choice.
We bought a Kenmore Electric Range 790.9420, 9424 just under 2 years ago for $700 (January 2015). The Convection has never been impressive... Following the directions but still burning items (I have since found out that it shouldve performed much better than that but I had no reference point) and it cant cook more than one item at a time without slowing down the cooking process or burning items. The last straw was two weeks ago, 12/10/16. It made a very loud POP while trying to bake a pizza. It totally stopped baking. For the last two weeks I have gotten the worst customer service through Sears that I have ever experienced. The local store hasnt been able to help (in fact when I tried to call their listed number, they never answered and then the phone call just cut off after 3 minutes of listening to it ring). I had to go into the store to tell the manager that their phone hadnt worked for 3 days as I had tried to reach them, then the 800 Sears Service number that is listed to call has been just terrible. Those at the 800 number must be trained to never help the customer or admit that their product hasnt delivered as it should have AND they arent allowed to give out any information on someone higher than their level to complain to... Absolutely no accountability. The main numbers of 1-800-469-4663 and 1-847-286-2500 have given me NO satisfaction. They have transferred me to Sears Holdings, Sears Solutions, Sears Rewards and NO ONE has been able to help me. All say it is on me, I didnt buy a warranty but that they can come out for $89 to assess it! Are you kidding me? My Stove/oven isnt made to last even 2 years? My phone call issues range from completely dropping my calls, putting me on hold for 25 minutes and never returning to speak to me so I had to hang up and call back and start all over, saying there is no recall or defect on this item so its costs are on me. I have been trying to give Sears some time to take some responsibility for their defective product...I finally had another local repair man come out and they determined it is the Control Panel... Cost is estimated at $250 (thats just for the item), then add the labor. I called Sears with this information. They have no solution other than to tell me to pay their tech to come out and assess it. I will NOT do that. I will not buy a Sears product ever again and I will do my best to let everyone I know to never buy from there again. Other than the store manager who did a good job hearing me but had no authority to help me, I have experienced ZERO customer service. I spoke to the store manager yesterday and there was a sign of a very little movement after I pressed more that my appliance shouldnt break in under 2 years and that anyone must have a warranty for something under 2 years. She was going to contact the Service Factory Manager directly for me. I have doubts that anything will result and plan to buy with a local company. The individuals on the phone are not accountable to anyone... They dont seem to care if you have a lemon or if you will not do business with their company anymore. I was told if I had an issue and wanted to speak to a manager, that I could call back and hopefully I could get through to the Arizona call center versus the Texas one. Are you kidding me? No accountability, No customer service, No standing behind their products and making it right with customers. Terrible. I/we have many more years of buying power and it wont be with Sears. I really hope my review will prevent someone else putting their money and faith into any Sears products.
The performance is to die for, just a bug load. It clean so deep you can smell even if its just water. But the performance is one of a kind and will stick to Kenmore product from now on. I have had plenty of Whirlpool washers and dryers but this Kenmore is one of a kind machine. I have had it for a couple years where my Whirlpool pool last less than a year. The appearance comes to mind when you get home and have extra space. Looks small but the big deep drum holds a lot of clothes for that big load you got just sitting around. The values of the washer and dryer is outstanding. I prefer Kenmore over any other companies. The value of the performance and the price range is up anyones alley.
Purchased the Kenmore pro microwave oven. Beautiful looking appliance for my new kitchen. I loved the features along with the over the stove lighting. It was the first microwave I owned that had useful lighting. I never had any problems with it. Then it happened--one year and 7 days later it stopped working. Out of warranty, out of luck.
This washer is easy to operate and works good and works faster. After washing I am contented with how my laundry feels clean and water is not dripping because it is squeeze out good. I recommend this product, it is made in good quality and we have it for four years now but we never encountered any minor or major problem yet. The appearance of the washer is okay and slim. Very traditional and just fit right in our laundry room. Moreover it is nice and easy to clean. It is really a good value of money because it came from a trusted brand and they are known of producing of high-quality materials. It is proven and tested of our small family.
I too have a Kenmore stove (Model #C970-648229) with falling racks! I have e-mailed Sears with no solutions. Ive been to their store where the stove was purchased. They even took a rack and have never returned it. They have suggested I pay for a service call to have an agent come out to tell me what the problem is... I know what the problem is - the racks no longer fit the oven! Apparently I have found out it has something to do with the lining of the walls in the oven??? Every time I have my oven on to bake something I hear this crash and the racks have fallen and my item being baked ends up spilling all over the oven. I am very, very frustrated with this. I will never buy anything from Sears again!!! And it seems they dont want to deal with this problem!! Has anyone received relief?
I love the pretty color, it matches my other kitchen appliances perfectly. Its very nice and I like the way they made the switches and buttons on it. I love the size too cause it holds all my dishes perfectly with plenty of space. I love the way its made all my dishes fit in each little space just right. I really love the way the Kenmore washes. My dishes always come out really clean Spot free. I would recommend this dishwasher to others. Great buy. It was in my price range and something that I could afford. It was very fairly priced and affordable. I really love it. Thank you Kenmore.
August 2015, I purchased a Kenmore Elite Convection Oven MODEL #970C693832. Its a beautiful oven which came with a major problem. The red flag should have been noted when it was delivered, and the glass control panel fell off; this was before it was even brought into my kitchen. I asked them to return it, and we got a new one a week later. Three months in, the same thing happened again; the glass control panel fell off. I called Sears, and they sent a technician to fix it with a new control panel. The technician mentioned to me that the only thing holding the control panel is glue. When the oven is in use, every time I use my oven, the glue is melting away. Theres no frame to support it, when the glue melts off. How is this even safe? Last week, the same problem happened again, the glass control panel fell off. I called Sears again.Today, a technician from Sears came in to check it out and will be fixing it again with a new control panel. So until he comes back, and fixes it, I have to use tape to hold up the control panel in order to use the oven. Luckily, its still under the extended warranty, but I cant keep calling Sears to replace the control panel every time the glue melts. Instead of sending a technician to fix the same problem, Sears should replace this appliance because this problem will happen again, and they know it. This oven is not good, and I would never recommend it. Sears should do its part and make sure they are selling their customers good appliances that they can rely on. I am very disappointed with my appliance from Sears, and I wish Sears would make good appliances with top-of-the-line materials and parts. Sears needs to do a quality check assurance on their appliances before they go on the market. We as customers cannot afford to expend so much money on products that either dont last, or have problem with their parts.
Purchased oven in 2013. Worked well for a while, but now I am having a problem with the controls. Recently, the oven control panel has started flickering and will not completely shut down when the ovens timer reaches zero. Big disappointment!
