CODE: F001, F002, F004 or F005
PROBLEM: Touch panel failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and wait 30 seconds then restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and replace the touch panel.
CODE: F003
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and replace the user interface board. The user interface control board may have more than one version. Use the latest revision of the user interface control board.
CODE: F010
PROBLEM: Runaway temperature (oven temperature is over 600 degrees and increasing)
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe.
CODE: F011
PROBLEM: Stuck key on the keypad
FIX: The control detects a key has been pressed for 30 seconds or more. Make sure nothing is pushing against the keypad. Press the Stop key to clear the display. If the code won't clear, disconnect electrical power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board.
CODE: F012
PROBLEM: Touch panel and user interface control board mismatch
FIX: This code appears when you replace the touch panel or the user interface control board using the wrong part. Use your range model number to check the part number and install the correct replacement part.
CODE: F013
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, replace the user interface control board.
CODE: F015
PROBLEM: Touch panel failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If error code returns, replace the touch panel.
CODE: F017
PROBLEM: User interface board is unable to configure the touch panel
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part.
CODE: F018
PROBLEM: Relay control board failure
FIX: Disconnect electrical power to the range and replace the relay control board.
CODE: F019
PROBLEM: User interface control board is unable to configure the relay control board
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the relay control board, you may have used the wrong part.
CODE: F022
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the relay control board
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged.
CODE: F023
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the touch panel
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the touch panel. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring harness is okay, replace the touch panel. If the problem continues, replace the user interface control board.
CODE: F025 or F027
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the relay board can't be initiated
CODE: F028 or F029
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the touch panel can't be initiated
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the touch. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part.
CODE: F030 or F031
PROBLEM: Oven temperature sensor probe failure
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms of resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe.
CODE: F033
PROBLEM: Meat probe temperature sensor shorted or too hot
FIX: The control triggers this code if the meat probe detects temperature above 392 degrees F. Make sure you fully insert the meat probe into the meat. The meat probe will detect oven cavity temperature higher than 392 degrees if you don't fully insert the meat probe tip into the meat. Also, make sure that you insert the meat probe jack into the receptacle. A partially inserted meat probe jack can short the contacts in the receptacle, causing this error code.
CODE: F050
PROBLEM: Oven relay board can't detect the status of the door lock switches
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the wire harness connections between the door lock switches and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. Check to see if the door lock switches work properly using a multimeter. Replace the door lock assembly if the switches don't work. Replace the relay control board if the wires and switches are all okay.
CODE: F090
PROBLEM: Door lock error
FIX: The relay control board doesn't detect the door lock motor operating. Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds, then restore power. Try again to lock the oven door by initiating the Oven Lockout or starting a Clean Cycle. If the door lock motor doesn't run, disconnect power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the door lock assembly and the relay control board.
CODE: F095
PROBLEM: Door lock motor doesn't stop running
FIX: If the door lock motor is constantly running, replace the relay control board because the relay on the circuit board is stuck. If the motor isn't running constantly when this code appears, replace the door lock assembly.
CODE: F096
PROBLEM: Oven door has been detected open during a self-clean cycle.
FIX: Make sure the oven door closes fully and pushes the door switch plunger in. Adjust the oven door hinges or replace the door hinges if damaged. Disconnect electrical power to the range and test the door switch for continuity with the door switch plunger pressed in. Replace the door switch if you don't measure continuity during that test.

I purchased a Kenmore range on June 15, 2012. A small amount of tomato sauce dripped into the space between the two pieces of glass on the door. I called Sears repair and they do not cover that in the warranty. It will cost me around $150 to have it fixed. I feel that this is a flaw in the design of the oven. I have cooked for 50 years and never ever had this problem. I realize there needs to be a vent to allow hot air to escape. How are they designing the ranges differently now than decades ago? I will have to look at the smeared glass for the next 10 years.
My Kenmore oven has given me nothing but very good results. I use the oven several times a week using it for various items from fresh to frozen entrées. Package instructions work exceedingly well.
Purchased 3 appl. LG fridge $2700, LG dishwasher $900 and Kenmore Pro gas stove/elec. OVEN $3212.00 - yes $3212.00! Purchased 4/13. Total purchase with everything was $7285.99! Not even 6 yrs. old yet!!! Just replaced the dishwasher - it just quit working, not fixable, moved the fridge so they could bring in the new dishwasher and now the fridge quit cooling and needs a new compressor! Of course they expired 4/16 and never used them... The service call was $78.50 and even though the compressor is covered under warranty the LABOR will be $450!!! The stove has issues as well and will error and turn off the oven when cooking.... So upset and extremely disappointed in their performance or better word LACK of performance. Just sick over this having to replace again after this COST!!! There must be some recourse for the customer! So I guess it doesnt matter what you pay you will be lucky to get 5 yrs. out of your appliances.
Kenmore Oasis Elite washing machine - F1 error message led me to do research online. After phone calls to Sears, I had to do my own homework. Found that there was a recall notification for serial# in range of CT01 thru CT49 which mine is. Model is 110 27092600. After many phone calls etc they said yes it is recalled due to the common F1 error message but that I have to pay for the repairs... WHAT!? Their product fails and so many of these washing machines failed that they had to do a recall but we the consumers have to pay for it? Never ever will I shop with Sears nor will I buy a Kenmore product even though I am in need of a new dryer, microwave/wall oven combo, and dishwasher.... oh and now a new washing machine or repair!
Purchased a Sear Roto Swirl Water Heater (model 409.7341820) May 2012 for $494.00 with a 9 year warranty. It stopped producing hot water today, 2.5 years old, and when I called the 1-800 warranty number they said We do not provide any troubleshooting advice for this product. They offered to have the service distribution office call me within 3 business days (its Saturday so 5 days) to arrange a service technician to visit in the coming weeks. After stating that was unacceptable the service person had no response. Very disappointed at paying a high price to Sears who we have faithfully purchased all of our large appliances from over the past 40 years... not any longer, goodbye Sears!
My washer has been very durable and washes both small and large loads. I have had it for 6 years and never have had to service it. Clothes always come out clean and smelling great. Its very reliable. My washer is a plain white and average looking but does the job like any washer that costs twice as much. Its one of the best washers Ive ever owned over the past 30 years. The cost of my washer is very affordable compared to washers in the same price range. I rely on it to keep my clothes very clean and bright at a very reasonable price.
I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago with no response, so I contacted Kenmore yesterday regarding the self-cleaning of the gas range which left spots on the bottom of my oven. I did everything the manual stated to do and also took out the racks and self cleaned them myself. The representative on the phone told me to put a hot cloth with white vinegar over the area, and then I may have to rub the area, if that didnt work to take a razor blade and lightly go over area and the spots would be removed. After trying both methods neither worked. I phoned again and another representative told me she could have a tech come out the following day but it would cost me $75.00 or $39.00 a month to cover all appliances in the house. I told her absolutely not and informed her that I would not be purchasing anymore Kenmore products. Then out of curiosity I wondered how much the part would cost just to replace it and after researching on the internet the part was $60.00. So therefore I would have had a tech come out for $75.00 then probably charge me at least $100.00 for the part and to replace it, what a rip-off. Other customers please do research before falling for this scam.
Ive never had a washer where I didnt have to pre-soak stains for them to actually come out. This washer does that, which is awesome since I have a chef husband and 16 month baby whose clothes get tons of stains. It has a huge capacity! I can wash entire loads without the washer becoming unbalanced and making a racket, which saves me a lot of time and aggravation! I love the silver color instead of plain old white. It doesnt take up any more space than our old washer, but its much deeper so it can hold more. The buttons are easily accessible and the functions are easy to read and understand. Everything I could ask for from a washer are included with this one. Im so happy that I bought it. The low price was a huge plus as well. It beat out any other washer in the price range as well as any that were more expensive.
I just purchased this range Friday after Thanksgiving 2015 and less than a week the burner caps got SOMETHING on it and it wont come off. The touch pad is ultra-sensitive when cleaning. (You can turn on the warmer, oven light, or even set the timer.) This is very frustrating. You have to WIPE WITH A WET, SOAPY cloth then a dry, no lint cloth so that it doesnt smudge. That also goes for the stainless. This range costs a mint too much to have to go through the inconvenience of this clean-up. As far as all the functions of the range, they seem to be working fine. Give me a couple of months and I will get back to you as to whether I am satisfied with this purchase.
I really like my Kenmore microwave. It’s efficient and has given me no problems. It is stainless, is easy to clean, and wired into the wall above my stove. I have had great success with Kenmore products all through the years.
I have never had any problems out of mine. I would recommend it to everyone looking to purchase a dishwasher. They should get one them. They are good quality, long lasting and dependable. Everybody should have this brand. They are really good on their sizes. They have the right size for everybody. They have a long range of models so Im sure you will find the right size one you are looking for.Very good looking models. They look somewhat similar but you can tell the difference between them. I have a black one to match my other appliances but I really liked the one I have and the stainless ones they are very nice. They dont really cost that much for the quality of them. Its well worth it but Im a firm believer in you pay for what you get and you get good merchandise with this company.
It was a good size for the apartment and I was in. It was easy to clean, easy to move and I never had any issues with the machine. I would recommend it for others to buy. I would recommend the refrigerator to somebody with a small household. The appearance was fine. It was white. The price was right. I had bought it from a previous owner but generally the brand of this product are priced reasonably. A person can always find a unit in their price range.
Purchased oven in 2013. Worked well for a while, but now I am having a problem with the controls. Recently, the oven control panel has started flickering and will not completely shut down when the ovens timer reaches zero. Big disappointment!
This stove worked very well until it didnt. Ive had to replace all heating coils several time and it still quits working at the worse of times. Every time Ive used the self-cleaning feature it burns out the oven elements. I do not recommend.
Motherboard causes oven to overheat to the point it could cause a fire.
Kenmore Elite Slide In Electric Range - I have had the control panel on this $3,000 range go out three times. I called Sears customer service 4 times in one day and each time, they put me on hold to look something up and we were disconnected every time. I have owned this range for 5 years and this will be the 3rd time this control panel needs to be replaced. Of course, the extended warranty I purchased has run out. I have received no satisfaction from Sears customer service and I will never buy another Kenmore product.
Installers messed up cabinetry, didnt fix. Temp on oven wrong all the time. I had to build a 2 by 18 plug or it would have just been open to under my stairs.
I love the pretty color, it matches my other kitchen appliances perfectly. Its very nice and I like the way they made the switches and buttons on it. I love the size too cause it holds all my dishes perfectly with plenty of space. I love the way its made all my dishes fit in each little space just right. I really love the way the Kenmore washes. My dishes always come out really clean Spot free. I would recommend this dishwasher to others. Great buy. It was in my price range and something that I could afford. It was very fairly priced and affordable. I really love it. Thank you Kenmore.
Purchased Kenmore Electric Range Model 9622 Sept. 2007. First use of self-cleaning burned the paint off panel above oven vent (which happens to be RIGHT UNDER THE MAIN CONTROL PANEL!!! Same vent drips profusely during use of oven. Days before Thanksgiving, either 2013, or 2014, large eye on left makes a loud pop, then stops working. Thought it would be no biggie. (Didnt purchase extended warranty). It was a REAL BIGGIE. The problem was in the main control panel. $650 to repair. Twice what I paid for the stove originally!(Should have just sold it without eye working and used the money to offset new range). Yesterday, while trying to heat the oven just to 375°, it made a HUGE pop and tripped my breaker. It did that twice, then, shut down 2 more times with same loud pop, without tripping the fuse. The last hoorah was when IT WASNT EVEN BEING USED!!! Same loud pop, and completely shut off. Pulled it out from the wall to find an electrical burn on the wall, and hole burned through the cover plate. Inside, the piece to hold one of the sets of wires is completely melted.
In general it is a good product except the electronics for the surface plates. The oven bakes very well and the temperatures are accurate. I recommend this product. However, in the future I would buy another brand.
Never had an issue. Freezer always stayed cold and the refrigerator worked perfectly. Ive had it for a long time and it works just as great as it did the day I got it. The only issues I had were with the freezer. It was hard to always fit several frozen pizzas and large tubs of ice cream. I just had to change my grocery shopping habits. It isnt the most glamorous. Its not ugly. It just looks dated when compared to stainless steel. It matched my kitchen at the time. It was on the lower end of the price range of refrigerators but it has lasted a long time without having repairs. It also doesnt use a ton of energy.
The refrigerator was well-built, simple and before we had to replace it, it lasted quite a while to what I imagined the normal life of a refrigerator should be especially with so many people in and out constantly for food or ice. Towards the end it didnt stay as cold, especially not when actually filled. Had to rearrange the refrigerator periodically, but overall very roomy. Held enough to readily feed 5 people daily, 2 of which usually had to have their own meals. The refrigerator has no fancy gadgets but easy to clean.
Its louder than we expected (partly because it resonates within the cupboards its next to) and recently has started to leak -- not from mechanical issues that we can observe, but based on the type of detergent we use in it. Ball/pod detergents seem to be incomparable with it. Otherwise its performed reliably and done its job. We knew what we were buying and were already assuming wed replace it a few years into owning the home. Fits enough items that we can usually clear one side of the sink if not both; for larger pots and pans we sometimes cant fit everything in one cycle. Very nice looking for a mid-range model; matches well with our other appliances and isnt as susceptible to fingerprints as other stainless items weve owned. We got what we paid for -- not saying its not a fair value for a builder model but rather that we knew the level of quality we were getting and assumed wed need to upgrade in a few years. Cheaper to do that ourselves than through the home studio/builder.
Poor quality material. It is rusting in every corner! Also is coming apart. The control panel is loose. The burners are getting hard to clean. The top oven, I keep it covered with aluminum foil, otherwise if you cook something and it falls on the top of the stove, it’s going to stain the paint.
I have had no problems with the refrigerator I bought at Sears. I have had the refrigerator for over 2 years now, and am very satisfied with its operation. It is the three-door model with the freezer on the bottom. I will have to say if you are older, like myself, you would probably do better by getting one with the freezer located in a different place. I find it difficult to bend over or kneel for a period of time to locate something in the freezer. Other than this self-inflicted problem, I would have to say that the Kenmore refrigerator has proven to be an excellent choice.
We purchased this 40 range from Sears & Roebuck brand new with other appliances. They have had problems too & are all too expensive for what you get any more with too many digital, sensitive, & failing parts. We have been purchasing Kenmore products for over 35 years before purchasing these new products. The problems started after the range was less than three years old, but out of warranty. The bake element melted & burned out & melted. The cost of the part alone was over $60.00 for the element. Then three months later the range caught on fire again & the element burned again (the oven was not even turned on), this time the control board & some wiring between the element & the control board also burned. Now in addition to the element needing replacement again, the control board & wiring needs replacement. The cost of the control board alone is nearly $500.00. That is more than the last oven even cost. This oven was over $2000.00 & burning out in less than 10 years with the cost of repairs ridiculous. Something is just not right.
We wanted a conduction stove/oven and after looking at more than 73 different brands and models we went with the Kenmore Elite. It has 2 ovens, which is great when you need to make more than one dish, the only 2 problems I have with it. Neither oven is big enough to stand a spiral ham up (20 lb turkey fit okay) and you cant use foil (that is how I was taught to cook turkey). We also love the options to lock both ovens and cooktops to prevent accidental turn on. The stovetop with the large burner (3 different size elements) comes in handy and the middle back with flex heating.
Our 4-year-old Kenmore range overheated and had an F10 alarm that could not be stopped without pulling the HOT appliance out of its space between the counter end and the wall. Not only did I burn my abdomen, but we dont know what my wife would have been able to do if she were alone when this happened.
Too many complaints over this issue of failing oven walls to support racks. We should join forces to be heard. My racks fall too oftentimes.
Model: Kenmore Stove Model 970-687131. The stoves finish was sold as a stainless steel model, but really its just a stainless steel coated finishing not at all stainless steel at all.. I feel duped of course, because the FINISH is so terribly done its wearing out fast... (see picture attached). The proof in the pudding is that the VENT hole from the oven on the left hand side has caused the finishing to come right off. One day i was cleaning the stove and bam the finish right above the venting area washed right off... Not exactly what I call QUALITY...Next time I intend to take my trusty super magnet with me anywhere I intend to buy stainless appliances and ensure that they product is exactly that, stainless steel. Magnets dont stick to stainless steel 18/10 or higher far as I know and that should be proof enough, plus I can always ask more questions and check demo models more closer. I am definitely not planning on another KENMORE forever here after. Thats for sure...
I bought this refrigerator in December 2012, along with a gas range which has been serviced, already, too. The refrigerator door will not close and the thermostat went out. I always get the extended warranty. My parents taught me that. They have not had to buy a TV in over 20 years due to extended warranties. When parts arent available, new. The door, per the repairman was not covered under the warranty because our abuse caused it. HELLO!! I was sitting at the dining room table and I saw the light shining. Thinking someone had forgotten to close the door, I closed it. I could hear the seal and it popped open again. IT’S NEW!! Why should a thermostat go out on a new refrigerator or the door not shut or stay shut!!! Whats worse, we have always bought Sears appliances. When I married 40 years ago, my parents gave us their old Coldspot from Sears and it was over 20 years old then. We kept it until we out grew it family wise and bought our own and kept it over 20 years, a Kenmore. Now, this. I am angry and thoroughly disgusted with what has happened to a haloed name. WE SHUT THE DOOR TOO HARD!!?? The Coldspot still works.
I bought a Kenmore gas range at Sears. 4 months later the oven control went off. Because the appliance still on the manufacturer warranty I called to Sears customer service (the worst customer service I ever contacted). They set me an appointment for the next three days. I was waiting on the technician and never showed up. I called back again to Sears and then they give me a number for a company named GKB services (I dont know who is more incompetent, Sears customer service or GKB services) that is going to fix my appliance. GKB send me back to Sears, and Sears send me to GKB.Thanksgiving day was a nightmare thanks to Sears and GKB services, (I have to eat Kentucky Fried Chicken for my Thanksgiving dinner). However it has been 2 months and the stupid Kenmore gas range still without to get fixed. I dont know what to do. Nobody help me to fix that appliance, (Im really disappointed until the point to go to Sears to dropped the stupid appliance) with my frozen turkey, that I never get cooked. I tried everything and both Sears and GKB doesnt fix my range. Did someone know what can I do to get the appliance fixed?
The Kenmore dishwasher turbo cycle does a great job. It is very quiet and it is easy to clean the outside. The stainless steel finish looks nice. I liked the Kenmore elite fridge & stove so the dishwasher and microwave matched. Although these products look nice and they all match, the quality is crap. Too much plastic pieces break off easily on the dishwasher. It needs more metal pieces/screws. Also, it uses a lot of water and it takes about 3.5 hours to complete a load of dishes.
This is the 3rd time I had sears out to fix stove. 1st glass blew out (scratched the whole inside 2nd circuit board/ and now again the circuit board. When you use self cleaning more than 3 times blows board. All in all I have been without the use of my stove about eight weeks. When you call for service and you give them error code. They come out (waiting a week or longer) without parts and you have to wait another 2 weeks for them to fix. Just wish they would credit me and let me buy another brand. This stove is only 1 year old. Very unhappy.
I purchased a Whirlpool built HE Oasis Washer, Kenmore brand but Whirlpool constructed. It really is a piece of junk. I paid right at $1,000 in the fall of 2008 and within three months, I needed a service call. Then right after the one year warranty, I needed several parts replaced and now one year after, it has three error codes. Everyone is recommending the LG machines for everything because they last much longer! I am certainly not going to throw my money away on a Whirlpool appliance any longer. I went through the same thing with our refrigerator and microwave. I bought Whirlpool in 1980 and swore by it. I didnt replace an appliance (purchased washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator and dishwasher) all at the same time in June of 1980. All appliances lasted for 15+ years. Now, Whirlpool doesnt make anything to last! Large appliances are much too expensive to have to replace every three to five years!
Love the brand. I have been a Kenmore customer since I moved out on my own. Both my parents and Grandparents were Kenmore lovers. I have had both washer and dryers as well as stove, microwave. I have never had the brand fail me. I have even purchased Kenmore appliances used due to their reliability and my inability to afford a new appliance. My fridge has even cooling. No warm spots. There is also more than enough room for all of my needs. The height is good, all my bottles and jugs fit upright, no laying things down so the contents can leak out. Its also easy to see what youre looking for. I like the ability to change my shelves to fit the needs, such as the holidays fitting all the pies, desserts and salads in and still having room for all the regular fridge items. However, I dont like the plastic shelf barriers. They should be metal. So if something is a bit large it just bulges instead of breaking. I dont care for shortness of the drawers. I thought they were longer so things like stalks of celery and bags of carrots fit without trimming them.
Purchased Kenmore Electric Range Model 79094182310 Nov. 2017. Within 1 yr after using Self-Clean feature which resulted in scorched area to the top of oven door on left side, I called for service. This scorched panel was replaced and I was told not to use self-clean function???! During 2018 I continued using the oven, replaced the bulb and still getting scorched/brown areas on top panel of the oven door even at temps of 425 and above. Called again and tech from Indianapolis came, checked thoroughly, called for research info about this oven, advised that the oven door seems ok but heat exhaust from oven is faulty/insufficiently constructed and there is no repair/solution. This faulty electric range should be recalled and replaced.
Very cold and insulated well. I have this unit outdoors and it stays cold. I also like the rack height. The frost free feature is important to me and provides easy maintenance. You can fit a lot in this unit. The space is better than the chest freezer I replaced. I like how every area keeps the same temperature as well. Very nice unit. The outside is white which matches my other outdoor appliances. The style is also plain and easy to clean. I wanted something simple in design and not hard to keep up. This unit fits that need. For the price I was very happy. It blew me away compared to something I was looking at from Costco. I knew what I wanted and this fit that expectation but at first avoided it because I thought it might have been out of my price range.
I have never owned a stove that I loathe as much as I do the Kenmore glass top stove that we have. Every week without fail, the handle comes apart, causing the glass door and white casing to fall to the ground and I have to screw the entire door and handle back on. We arent rough with this appliance. Its a piece of junk, period. Another thing is that the cooking elements dont provide consistent heat. If I want to boil water to make a cup of tea, I swear I have to wait five minutes before the water in the kettle comes to a boil. I really detest this stove and I am counting the days until it finally gives up the ghost so I can buy a decent stove.
Kenmore Elite model 790 789 02000 - Bought a 5 year old home - oven not working - $495.00 to repair. Needs 1 ignitor, 1 controller, main PCB to be replaced. This was only a summer cabin, oven seldom used and its broke already. Will have to wait to repair or buy new as still have 2 Mtg.
I purchased a complete line of Kenmore Elite products to furnish my new house in September 2010. Fast forward 1.5 years later, the indoor ice maker stopped working. I lived without ice for a while until I could find a good time to get a repairman out from Sears to fix it (2013). Now, the seals on the doors collect condensation and seem to build up a residue, special. Last night, I was surprised to have the exterior glass of my oven explode on to me whilst baking at 400. 400.... pretty average baking temp, nothing thrown at the oven, dropped on it, smacked to it, nothing. Just a surprise explosion and a cut to the shin from the tempered glass flying at me.
I rent my home so I didnt buy this stove but I use it pretty much every day. Its a white Kenmore, ceramic top with 4 burners. One of those is a double burner. I just did the self cleaning on it, which took 3 hours (not as long as some ovens). It burned off pretty much everything but left some crusties between the crack of the door and the oven but other than that it cleaned itself great (I just had to wipe the ash out). The top is fairly easy to clean but to get the ceramic really clean and shiny I use the Kenmore cooktop ceramic cleaner. Its wonderful.
I purchased my Kenmore refrigerator from my local Sears appliance sale. I was able to bundle a warranty package and included annual maintenance inspections to make my purchase worry free. The 25 cubic foot size of the refrigerator gave plenty of room. Also, the water and ice dispenser was a great addition to the fridge. Moreover, the stainless steel finish went well with the range and dishwasher in the kitchen which were all Kenmore and look fantastic. Their appliances are reliable and a good value.
Love this ice maker and cold water. Very economical also. Has shelves that you can move to suit your needs and easy to clean. The side of the refrigerator has so much room for milk, soda. They can fit any size soda bottle. Its 25 cubic. It is fantastic and meets all my family needs. You can arrange the shelves for height to fit your family needs. It has 2 drawers on the bottom for vegetables and cold cuts. Its freezer has loads of shelves and a huge slide out bin on the bottom. It freezes excellent, nothing is ever soft. I own the stainless steel one. It is very attractive and easy to clean with Windex and paper towels. I love the sleek modern look in my kitchen. It goes with any color on any other appliances you might own. It really looks like an expensive appliance but it was very reasonable price at my Sears store. It freezes very fast so food is not ruined and nothing has to be thrown out which saves you lots of money in the long run.
Last night, we heard a loud noise and went to the kitchen to discover the glass door on the oven had shattered. No one was in the kitchen at the time and the oven had not been used for more than 24 hours. Sears says there is no recall on this. I have seen lots of comments from other people that have the same issue. We did not buy the extended warranty, so our 2 year old oven is now worthless. Sears offered to send a tech at no charge to come to my house but we will need to pay for labor and parts. If this was just a part that stopped working that would be understandable, but exploding glass on an appliance that is not being used seems like a defect to me.
Purchased a Kenmore Electric Range in March 2017. Last Monday night 11/06, while using the oven at 450 degrees, the glass in the oven door exploded and shattered. 3rd party technician arrived today for service appointment. Opened the door and confirmed the window was shattered (nice work genius) and informed me that it would take two additional weeks for the parts to arrive. In my opinion, if something this violent happens to a product, then I would say its defective. I want my defective stove to be replaced!I have spoke with exactly 10 Sears and Kenmore representatives today and have not received any assistance on the replacement of my defective stove. Even drove down to the store I purchased it from to seek some assistance... That was a useless waste of time! I have even had two representatives tell me that it usually takes seven or eight occurrences or service calls before they deem a product un-repairable and would consider replacing it. So... Kenmore and Sears would rather keep an appliance in service with risk to my family if the window decides to fully explode and shatter, rather than just replacing a range??? I have never experienced such a poor level of customer service as I have today. This is a perfect example of why the Sears Holding stock is only at $4.50 per share this morning and the fact that they are closing another 100+ stores. They treated me like I was some sort of thieve and all I was trying to do is replace a defective range to keep my family safe. What really blew me away!!! I told the last customer service person that Kenmore does NOT stand behind their quality or product! Freddies response was that Kenmore doesnt even produce or manufacture the ranges. They are made by Whirlpool and Kenmore slaps their brand name on the product. Freddie wasnt even fazed, almost like he didnt even care. Guess I wouldnt care either if I was working for a sinking ship!
Fire started in bottom of the oven. I tried to douse it with baking soda but to no avail; nor was I able to turn off the oven/range to stop the fire. It wouldnt turn off. I had to pull the range from the wall and unplug it from the electrical outlet. When I looked inside, the fire had gone out and you could see the charred element. Within a few minutes, another part of the element broke into two. Ive seen many other complaints about Kenmore ranges especially this model. I have not seen any attempt from Kenmore or Sears to recall or notify owners of this potential serious problem, nor have I seen any compensation to those owners who recently purchased the range.
In Dec 2009 I redid my kitchen and installed a new, black, ceramic top Kenmore kitchen stove. The finish on the back of the stovetop is failing and the paint is peeling off. I have never used harsh cleaners to clean this - always use dishwashing liquid and yet the enamel is all peeling off and the metal is showing through. Has anyone else had this issue? The warranty on this is only one year - really? For a $699.99 appliance?
My wife and I have been faithful Kenmore customers for 15 years (as were both of our parents) UNTIL NOW. Moving into our new home 7 years ago, we bought a top of the line, matching Kenmore Elite HE4 washer and dryer. They were more expensive than the competition, but looked great and had amazing features. The dryer had a recurring issue that took 4 service visits and approx. $500 in repairs. We thought, Must have got a rare lemon. But in December, the washer stopped mid-cycle with an ERROR F6. As good customers, we called Kenmore service and a repair technician came out to fix it. He switched out the Control Board. Next day, the washer stopped again, ERROR F6. A second repairman came out and replaced the Control Board Wire Harness. Two weeks later the washer stopped again and repairman came out to explain how we needed a Motor Control Board and new motor. THIS HAS HAPPENED SIX TIMES!!! And the washer is still not fixed. We were convinced early on that we should purchase a service protection plan from Kenmore and if they couldnt fix it, Kenmore would replace it. But as of today, they want to send out a SEVENTH service repairman to try to fix the issue. My wife and I have been on the customer service hotline for 3-4 hours collectively, and had to take off from work for six days and rearrange our schedule to accommodate Kenmores technicians on six different days (with six different technicians) with no resolution. Kenmore Customer Service continues to give us the runaround and will not replace the washer as promised through the service agreement, nor will they give us a managers name to resolve the issue. This has been the most infuriating experience of our lives. If Kenmore will not resolve this issue immediately, we intend to spread the word of our experience on every social media outlet we can find. Our friends and followers on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blogger and Instagram will soon know about our experience.
I purchased a Kenmore Elite Oven Model #790 980 23800 about 4 years ago. Cost over $1,600.00. In the past several months I have noticed the oven racks will fall down. This can be a hazard because of the heat of the pan and possible spilling of contents. I logged onto the web and found a Kenmore site that had a few complaints on this oven. I reached out to a rep there who did have a repair man come out. He stated that it would cost $600.00 to fix, which is unacceptable.Went back to Kenmore and they advised me that since I do not have an extended warranty I would need to pay. They would negotiate the price. I think this is a defect, not something that the consumer should be responsible to fix. According to Kenmore rep if it is a defect then the manufacturer, Frigidaire would be responsible.Today I called Frigidaire and was told once the name Kenmore is on the product and it is sold by Kenmore the liability and rights are Kenmore. Waiting to hear back from Kenmore on Frigidaire’s response. The issue is I as a consumer bought a costly product from Kenmore and unless I buy an extended warranty they do not stand behind the product. Not to mention this issue is a hazard. Someone could get burnt very easily when a hot pan falls in an oven. Please let me know if there is any other steps I can take. Thank you.
The only thing I can say as a 25 year contractor is stay away from this line, not worth the money. I used Pro, refrig, oven, cooktop, 2 dishwashers and you know what I havent had problems with? my Ninja blender! Everyone of the Pro pieces have had either a design issue or a quality issue, I have replaced and repaired every piece in my kitchen. If youre looking to buy high end Kenmore Pro is just for looks. Contact me Ill will tell you the list of items.
I have had numerous dryers with parts going out all the time. Once I had a Kenmore I never had to worry about my dryer and I had a six person household. My Kenmore is the best dryer that I have ever owned. I had a household consisting of six adults. Of the six three were female who in my opinion never gave my Kenmore dryer a break. Now through thousands of cycles it is still dependable. Drying time is not long either. Simple. Very basic design but very durable. The controls are not hard to understand and I still love front load dryers. Worth its weight in gold. Its a very affordable dryer and I was actually shocked that a dryer in this price range works as hard as mine works. Easily worth much more.
Defective and dangerous. Stove five years old. Walls of the oven suddenly retracted. Racks dont fit and they fall. It cannot be repaired, unless the oven is replaced at a big cost. I wont buy a Kenmore stove again, and wont recover to anybody. They are dangerous. There are a lot of people with the same complaint and Sears wont do anything about it.
I purchased my refrigerator from Sears in 2009. In the first year, I experienced the inside light not turning off and melting the cover to the lights. I am well out of warranty now, and my fridge stopped making anything cold. No error codes or signals, opened my fridge and freezer to puddles of cesspool of muck. It appears as though everything is fine from the outside. Apparently I need a new condenser. I have had nothing but countless strange problems with my fridge, hindsight is 20/20 now. I would NEVER purchase another from Sears or Kenmore. Expensive pile of chrome junk, paperweight at best.
We purchased our Kenmore stove Model #790.97453804 in June 2010 and until this weekend everything ran smoothly. Just as we had finished dinner the outer glass on the oven door exploded!! Glass blew out about 3 ft. all over the kitchen floor. Our grandson had just walked past the door. This could have been far worse than it was. A visit to Sears on Sunday proved futile as, you guessed it, they had not heard of this happening and didnt know this type thing could happen. Luckily I had taken pictures of everything as proof & showed them. All they did was provide phone numbers, which I called. They could only schedule a service call. I checked the internet for any recalls on this particular model and found none. So we bought another stove but it was NOT a Kenmore. No more Kenmore appliances for our family.
Kenmore oven Glass shattered while baking. I bought this new 1 1/2 years ago and this shattered while I was baking. Very dangerous. Should be recalled. Could cause injury and fire. I would never buy this again.
I used the self cleaning on the bottom oven. I did it according to the instructions in the manual. The walls in the bottom oven expanded so much that the racks will not stay up. It is not under warranty! This has never happened before to the other ranges we have owned and we have spent a lot more money on this range! Its a hazard when the racks fall I have to prop them up on empty pans to use the oven. We have been loyal Sears customers for years but now we will never purchase from Sears again!
Love this brand... Fancy and flashy. Bought a matching stove because of the new and modern look it added to my kitchen. I am looking forward to buying an good range in the same Brand as well to make a whole matching kitchen set very soon!
I CAN LOAD IT FULL. EVERY DISH INSIDE COMES OUT SPARKLING AND VERY CLEAN AND SPOTLESS. GLASSES NOT STAIN ON ANYTHING. CLEAN. No residue with the sprayer. Is very good too. It is big enough to put all my dishes and pots and pans silver wares, glasses. It very good on doing the complete job so I would recommend this dishwasher to family and friends. This machine has a sleek color that goes with all your appliances, stove, refrigerator, microwave, even tile. It would be a very good choice for anyone. The value is money well spent. All the extras you will need, so dont hesitate get one. Best value.
The handle of our Kenmore Elite oven door fell off. When my husband tightened the screws on the handle, the oven door glass shattered scattering glass throughout the main level of the house. Sears is not admitting this is a defect even though this has happened to many others. When I contacted Sears they referred me to the repair center but they are not willing to replace the door without charge because it is not under warranty or recall. The oven is only 5 years old. The handle should not fall off and the glass should not explore regardless of age.
The range that I had bought only lasted 8 years. The self cleaning oven ruined my range. That is what the repairman told me. I bought the one year service agreement, so when Sears could not fix the range, I got $500.00 toward a new one. That money was meaningless when we went into the store to buy a new one. When the installer that is contracted out by Sears installed my new range, he talked me into buying a new plug for $50.00, and then left the box that the new range came in for me to dispose of in my trash. He did take the old range, and said he would dispose of it by scraping it. They usually get about $25.00 for scrap. Most of my Sears appliances have needed repair work within the first two years. So I do advise getting the extended warranties. The quality of Sears appliances are not that great. But you get what you pay for!
After 20 yrs with my old Kenmore I just bought a new machine through Sears Can...I deliberately did not buy an HE. I am a weaver and when I finish things Ive woven, I need to control the washing process. I did not realize that the lid-lock is continually in effect. Stop the lock and I cant watch the washing process. Then I discover there is no soak cycle. (I also run a small guest house and towels frequently need to soak before a wash cycle.) What designer/programmer, in his infinite idiocy, chose to set the default at empty?! This is moronic! Fill the machine and get distracted and leave the lid up--it empties. Realize I set the wrong cycle and change the dial--it empties. Close the lid and let it sit--it empties.Add to this the fact that the towels are NOT coming out clean. I have tried different cycles, more detergent, hotter water. I have washed twice. I have let things soak. (Put the drain hose into the machine, let it drain back into the drum, pull the electrical plug. Let sit. Put hose into clean garbage can, insert electrical plug and now, even if I want to wash, it drains--into the can. Start from beginning and bucket soapy water into drum as it begins to fill. Start wash. For this I paid nearly $700 CAD tax included. Im putting it on Kijiji as soon as I can find a Speed Queen replacement. And am trying to get my old machine back in service until then. Never again, Kenmore.
We have had this for 4 years with no issues. Yesterday we had not used the microwave in several hours. Then my husband heard a pop in the kitchen. When we went out there the entire glass was shattered. There were small shards of glass on the stove and the floor. I have never heard of this happening. I googled it. That’s when I learned this happens if there is a defect in the glass. Thank goodness no one was in the kitchen or using the microwave at the time. A new microwave will cost less than the door will cost to replace. Go figure.
This Kenmore range was purchased from Sears Canada 31 years ago. It has only needed three repairs in all that time - one burner had to be replaced, the control knobs were replaced (more cosmetic than repair) and one of the wheels came off the warming drawer. It still looks good, with the enamel intact, control panel intact and burner rings good. The only complaint Ive ever had about it is the material used for the control panel is hard to keep clean-looking. You cant just wipe it down with a dishcloth, it needs window cleaner to look clean.
I purchased a Kenmore gas range in Oct 2013: model#79036903 905 Serial #NF33430475. My complaints are many with this range, but the most difficult is removing the storage bin to clean the floor under the range. It entails super dexterity to pull up the clip on the left while holding down the clip on the right, at the same time pulling the draw outward. This can only be done if you straddle the draw. These clips are located on the far inner sides of the draw. Once the draw is out, there is a bar across the front that makes it difficult to get to the crud that gathers under that bar. Sears needs to rethink this design. I always purchased appliances from them. In the last few years, I am very dissatisfied with their products.
I have always preferred an electric stove over a gas stove. I had my stove and hot water on propane so I decided to do all electric and thats when I purchased the Kenmore electric range. I have never owned a glass top stove that didnt have the coil burners. There really wasnt any other options. I learned that if you spill something on the stove while cooking on it to make sure you clean it up before you use it again because it is a lot harder to get it clean if you keep cooking on it. It cleans up great as long as you clean it after every use. It has a convection option instead of just bake selection which I use most of the time because its faster and it cooks more evenly. It also has one burner that is called turbo boil. When you use that burner it boils within less than 1 minute. It is awesome. Really cant think of anything negative. I would highly recommend the Kenmore electric range. It is the best oven I have ever owned.
Washer lasted for ten years as well as the matching dryer. We just replaced because of fire in dryer and gasket and drum broke in washer which resolved in a leak. Washed and dried clothes. Dryer had to be put in twice to actually dry the clothes. Washer had a smell if I didnt wash every day, so I bought a Tide detergent that cleans front end loaders and that seemed to help. They were a beautiful color of burnt orange. They never got scratched and looked as new as when I purchased when they are taken away 10 yrs later. They were a good value lasted for 10 yrs only fixed once. They washed 15 towels easily. Dryer just didnt dry as well.
I bought this gas stove at Sears at least 20 years ago. It still looks almost as good as new; the only damage is a chip that the men who installed a replacement floor made somehow. It has never needed repair. Its easy to clean and still works perfectly. I bought a second one used for my lake house 10 years ago with the same experience.
The range is not bad for the price. It would be nice if it offered a little more room in the oven. It would also be nice if you could get a good peek inside the oven without having to open the door all the time.
We purchased a Kenmore Elite range in 2012. It worked well for a while then the computer board failed and the oven would not heat. This first occurred December of 2014. I was without an oven for the entire month of December. Then on November 28, 2015 the same issue started. We called for repair and were treated rudely and they would not re-order the same parts from last repair, so we had to wait for a tech on December 2. The tech came out. He was rude and not helpful. He didnt even inspect the oven. He said it was the computer board and ordered the part. We then had to wait for parts to arrive and schedule the next available appointment on December 11. The tech installed the board and the oven worked for 4 hours and broke again. We called customer service again and we were told that there was nothing he could do for us because it had not been 24 hours since the tech was at our house. He did say he would put a notation for the tech to call us the next day. No one called on December 12, so on December 13 we called again. The CSR finally agreed to order the parts without waiting for a service call, and scheduled the next available date for repair on December 21. We specifically said we did NOT want the same tech to come out. On December 21 we were quite shocked when the same tech showed up, was as rude as ever, refused to the install the board and only installed the igniter (which he failed to order on the first repair). All in all, my oven was broke for almost the entire month of December. I will NEVER make another appliance purchase from Sears again.
I would like a little louder alarm, I would also like to have a plug in on the back panel. I also would like to make it easier to clean inside of the glass. Otherwise I really enjoy my electric stove. The last one I had lasted 24 years of hard use. Since I love to cook and bake.
I purchased a Kenmore Elite Double Oven Gas Range in November 2011. I also bought an extended warranty. When the range was about 3 yr old the bottom oven failed to heat. It was repaired. Then this past October 2016, the bottom oven wouldnt heat. November 23rd it was repaired. I extended the warranty because with two repairs I wasnt confident with the range. Then on December 20th, I was using the top oven at 400 degrees, and everything was fine. I then turned on the bottom range at 350 degrees, and noticed it wasnt heating after about ten minutes. I opened the oven to see if it was hot. A ball of flames came out at me. I burnt my eyebrows and a good part of my hair. Luckily I was able to shut out any flames on me, and I closed the oven and shut it off.I called Sears the next morning, rather shaken to report what I consider a safety issue. They scheduled a service call so a technician could access the problem. I told them I didnt want it repaired, only replaced. I got a bit of a runaround. They first came quickly then ordered parts. Sears says it is repairable. They scheduled me for Jan 5th, and I waited all day and no one showed. Today, someone came. I said I didnt want it fixed. The service man called his supervisor, then Sears directly called me, and said as part of the process I must have it repaired then file a complaint. When I called they said I should have refused the repair, because now it is deemed in working order. I said I dont feel safe after my ordeal. The supervisor at customer service said even if I had a brand new stove, no one could guarantee my safety. Talk about confidence inspiring. I let them know I wasnt pleased with that. They then offered me a $630 credit towards a new stove. I paid $2,300. I didnt accept yet, because I dont know if I should.
My husband and I purchased a Sears Kenmore Stove 15 months ago. Starting in January we had problems with the electronics. We called and it took a repairman 3 weeks to evaluate the stove as he had no idea what was wrong with it. He ordered parts and we called to make another appt when the parts arrived. That took two weeks. He came to install the new parts and found out they were the wrong parts. Another two weeks went by and repairman came and installed new electronic system in stove. We had inquired about another stove but they refused and said this one could be fixed. Within an hour of him leaving the electronics went out again.Called and made another appt in two weeks time. He came out again and just rewired the original parts and from then on it seemed fine till tonight. We used the oven last night it was fine and came home today and the entire display on the stove is out. No lights to use the oven whatsoever. We had not taken the extended warranty because our parents had Kenmores for years. We are on a fixed income and do NOT have the money $90 service call and replacement parts of $360 - to spend on the stove. It would be more than we paid for the stove in the first place. I have tried every Sears # I can find and no one is willing to help me - they just say what do u want me to do. I want my stove fixed the right way and so it lasts.
My wall unit lasted for 13 years, but I think it overheated the circuit board when are used the Clean setting so I will definitely never use that function on any oven I own. Since then, there is an error code on the digital display and it shuts off intermittently while trying to cook or bake something.
I have a Kenmore 79041053101, the oven locked (5f error code), had to use YouTube to open it, the top burners are difficult to maintain. Repairman fees from Sears is insane $80 are. I have been informed that to replace control board it will cost about $500. It came with the house, 4 yrs old but I will not repair and will never purchase a Kenmore appliance.
This oven cost $1,400. In the fall of 2009, the motherboard crashed. In 2010, it was only used for 8 months. I returned it sometime in November of 2012 because the motherboard completely went down. The manager at Sears, Sarasota, said nothing can be done, but they can give me a 10% discount on a new stove. Talk about not standing behind your sales. My advice to everyone is to buy from a small store so that owner has a commitment to you and the community. I’m taking it back to Sears and dumping it on their doorstep, with sign that says “New stove. No support” and my email on it. What more can I do?
Ive had this microwave since October 2005. Its never been serviced. It is digital and very modern and sleek looking above the range by the same maker. The displays make it very user friendly. The options for different types of food prep are many. I just cant say enough good things about it.
I am writing for my friend Hunaida ** (phone **). She has just discovered, after several years of repeated calls and visits by the local gas company, about her stove! The stove is/has been listed on a recall. She is frantic with fear. She never received any letters or calls. What if it should explode! What can she do to protect and get a new stove? Sears says, “Sorry, lady, the time has run out! We cant do anything for you.” The stove does not work right.
I purchased my piece of junk Kenmore range Model 790.9745 in 11/09. I have had a reoccurring issue since the glass exploding and shattering for no apparent reason. The glass in the door has slipped on 3 separate occasions, requiring a service call and time waiting for repairs. On 12/13/2012, the glass was replaced after exploding. On 3/2/2013, the glass was replaced after having slipped, revealing the hardware which was holding it in place. On 6/8/2013, the glass was replaced once again due to slipping and revealing the hardware. Today, I have phoned customer service once again and have received no satisfaction from the numerous phone conversations. Each time the supervisor has been less than helpful in their ability to satisfy the customer. I would think that Sears would be a bit more concerned about rectifying this situation and stand behind what they sell and repair this problem. I will not buy another thing from Sears and I will be sure to share my poor experience with Everyone I know! I am disgusted!
Has lasted for years after many uses and many kids with tons of dirty clothes and a dirty husband. Even had shoes thrown in and still runs like a champ. Plus no lost socks! Works every time all the time. Even dries faster than other dryers Ive used and its great for quick use, plus I love all the options. The price is definitely worth it. I love the appearance of this dryer. It fits my decor greatly and matches my washer perfectly even though they are different models. Its very sleek and looks like a much more expensive dryer and its a mid range price dryer. I love that it looks like a high end dryer. This isnt your mothers dryer, with the old knobs and buttons. I love how this dryer looks.
Im very satisfied with its performance. I never really have an issue with stuck on food or cloudiness. It thoroughly cleans and sterilizes my dishes and it doesnt take hours either. Very good model for mid price range dishwasher. I have actually moved houses and the size of the dishwasher and location has been a perfect fit both times. I went from a very large kitchen to a much smaller one and it fit with no problem. I really would have liked a sleeker look but for the price and performance I am very satisfied. The white color doesnt stain or dirty either. Very, very, very happy with the performance I am getting for the dollar amount I paid. Excellent value. This is a very good brand and model for someone that is at my income level looking for a new dishwasher.
Burn hazard due to oven racks falling. Apparently this is a well-known and well-documented hazard. These ovens are manufactured by Frigidaire for Kenmore and Jenn-Air with only the cosmetics being different. Same defect in both. Jenn Air has recalled and replaced the defective products, Sears is in denial. The problem is that when the self-cleaning mode is used, the oven sidewalls expand, allowing the racks to fall, resulting in burns. So far, weve been lucky, but if a small child or pet were in the vicinity... it could be tragic. We purchased all high end Kenmore Elite when we redid our kitchen. The factory service was a joke. We filed a complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and will be sending a demand letter to Sears and Frigidaire.
Thoroughly washed clothes without trouble. Never had a problem with it, continues to run after multiple years of use. Quiet as well, easy to use. I have had this washer for many years and see myself using it for many more to come. Would recommend to friends. Ive never had nor will I ever have a better washing machine. The appearance is sleek, innovative, and modern. It goes well with the interior of my home as well as the dryer that I own. I couldnt ask for a dryer that looks any different. The value is what you pay for, and in this case its well worth the price. It falls into a good range and is inexpensive compared to other washers.
We remodeled our kitchen may of 2013, and purchased new elite, stove, refrigerator, microwave. 3 months after purchase, after using oven and turning it off, it was discovered that not only did it not switch off, it was super heating! We shut off the breaker. Called Kenmore, they sent a repair man out, who looked at it, and decided to replace the control panel. Took about 5 days for the part to come in, so I was without my stove for About 7 days. He replaced the part and we hoped all was well, but then, last week, it did it again. This is very scary! If we hadnt noticed, our house could burn down...again Kenmore wants to repair it, Im done with this lemon! I will never trust it again! Obviously, there is a piece in there that is blowing out this control panel. I paid a lot of money for this range, all I want is what I payed for. Kenmore was useless, but Sears is working with me. So hopefully, they will be replacing it for us....we will see over the next couple days...
I purchased a Kenmore Power Miser 12 Model #153.331414HA water heater six years ago. The heater was rated as a 15 year heater. In the last six years, I have replaced the pilot light assembly three times and cleaned it countless others and for the last year I have had to manually light the pilot everyday in order to get hot water. I order a replacement pilot assembly and installed it. The replacement unit failed after two days. It was obvious to even me who is not a mechanical whiz that the thermocoupler on the pilot unit was not shielded from the open burner flames thus causing it to overheat and shut off. At the same time I purchased a gas range. The ignitors for the stove top have not worked properly since about one year after purchase. Only one burner will ignite and you have to manually light the others to cook. Also for the last two years, the oven will not heat to the proper temperature (i.e., about 200 degrees lower than the setting on the control unit). I too have experienced poor customer service from SEARS including having to pay $75 dollars for warranty repairs, customer support staff obviously located in Mumbai, India not being able to answer questions about parts or service, delays in scheduling repair times, and my wife was put on hold off and on for over four hours trying to get her questions answered and to get a repair time scheduled even though she asked repeatedly to be transferred to a supervisor. The supervisor was no greater help than the customer service representative. I have since bought a competitors brand of hot water heater because it is made in American and their customer support staff are located in the United States. I also filed a complaint with the Chicago Office of the Better Business Bureau about these appliances. SEARS has responded that their records only show one service call to them and I informed them that their records are inaccurate because there were two repair calls for the same issue. SEARS has informed the BBB that they will not reimburse me for the cost of the hot water heater or even for the cost of the replacement pilot light unit I recently purchased which failed nor have they addressed the issue with the gas range. I have asked the BBB to inquire as to how many service calls SEARS has received nationally regarding replacement of the pilot light unit on this model of hot water heater and the number or percentage of these calls which were repeat service calls to replace the pilot light unit. I also asked why I cannot be reimbursed for replacement pilot light unit I just recently purchased that failed since there should be some limited warranty of 30 or 60 days on even parts. We will see how they respond. If anyone else out there has had similar issues with either this model hot water heater or with their gas range I would like to know.
I had the original Maytag Gemini double oven range. I have now had the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Range for 2+ years. The new range is far superior. Of course the double ovens being the same size is a great help. Overall, the technology of the Kenmore range is fabulous. I have one main concern, though.... why dont they poll people that own these expensive appliances and ask us what features we want, need or desire? The timer on this range drives me INSANE! Its non-stop, and could seriously wake the dead. I know there is no way to make my second need happen, but, the bottom oven opens onto the floor..... very hard to lift something heavy in and out. Overall, though, this range is far superior to the Gemini.
We have been loyal Kenmore customers since we were married in 1975. Currently we have a Kenmore refrigerator, freezer, stove, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. We have been well served by Kenmore appliances for forty years but our washing machine is extremely frustrating. It is a series 500 high efficiency washer. It is not efficient at all because we frequently have to wash things twice to get them clean. We purchase and use the recommended detergent. It is very slow so it wastes time. I have tried to trick it by adding extra water but that doesnt seem to help. We regret our purchase every week on laundry day. Is Kenmore doing anything to retain dissatisfied customers like us? We are fed up with a all of the problems. If Kenmore will offer a solution to replace the machine I will stay with a Kenmore machine. If not I will buy a different machine.
Purchased the Kenmore pro microwave oven. Beautiful looking appliance for my new kitchen. I loved the features along with the over the stove lighting. It was the first microwave I owned that had useful lighting. I never had any problems with it. Then it happened--one year and 7 days later it stopped working. Out of warranty, out of luck.
I do not recommend anybody buying Kenmore products from Sears. They seem to care if you have problems but all theyre doing is giving you the runaround. They use ARS for their warranty claims and which they are rude and just plain liars... I have taken a day off work as they require a 9 to 5 window for an appointment. After calling Sears three times during that day to say I havent heard from the contractor all three times they (Sears) confirmed yes he is coming. The last time I contacted ARS myself as now Sears is closed. They told me he wasnt coming, so a day off work wasted... This has been going on for 4 weeks now, so my conclusion is I threw the Kenmore range out of my house and purchased a different brand. Take my advice. Do not buy Kenmore products. You will be disappointed if something goes wrong.
We have been pleased with our refrigerators performance – it has been reliable and efficient. We have plenty of room in the fridge and freezer and we like that we can rearrange the shelves if needed. We are able to fit everything we need in the fridge. There is a lot of usable space on the door too. We like the overall appearance of our refrigerator – the stainless steel finish matches our other appliances and makes the kitchen look nicer and less dated than it did. Large appliances are expensive but, in this case, we felt like it was a good investment because its a brand that we trust and have had good experience with in the past.
My Kenmore range was purchased in 2010 and since then, the outside glass on the oven has blown out twice, once when the oven had not even been used. The most recent incident was Nov. 15, 2014. The oven made a loud popping noise then glass shot out everywhere. The model is 790-92803010. Sears was no help and refused to view this as a safety issue when this happened the first time in June of 2012, so I contacted the Better Business Bureau and was eventually reimbursed for the cost of new glass on the oven. How could this possibly happen again? I dont see a recall on this oven and suspect there is something wrong with the seal on the door. Thanksgiving is in less than two weeks and I have to cook for 15 people!! I am disgusted with the service and this product. Furthermore, the ice make is not working on my Kenmore Elite refrigerator.
We installed a Kenmore gas range top. It is stainless steel and looks spectacular. The range performs extremely well and the temperatures seem to be very accurate. As for the value, again, I think things are grossly overpriced. We have owned this range for over 10 years and have never had the first service call.
I preferred the appearance of the units that were in my price range and this Kenmore refrigerator has lived up to my expectations. It has fit its needs and use well. The size is convenient for my kitchen space, the door bins are much larger than standard refrigerators which is great for holding Juice bottles and such, I also like the see through shelves which make it easier to spot things in the fridge. But I would like better manufactured motor parts that are higher quality and do not burn up too easily. I would also make the shelves a bit easier to take out as sometimes it is a struggle to line up the tabs properly.
I had a Kenmore refrigerator several years ago which lasted a very long time. It had several different compartments so you could squish this on many different levels which made it easy to organize and arrange things. The top shelf could be placed really far down so that you could place large jugs of water, soup pots or other crock-pot type of devices there with no problems plus you could fit even a large turkey roaster in there during the holidays. So, I would not complain about the spacing. The refrigerator itself was very quiet. I could barely tell that it was running. You could easily adjust the dials inside to change the temperature of the refrigerator or freezer. There was no frost build up in the freezer ever. I would suggest this to anyone.
It works extremely well. We hardly ever need to pre-wash our dishes. Everything comes out clean and not greasy. It runs quietly and is not bad at all. I love it. It fits all the dishes I need it to. There is room for everything and lots of ways to rearrange the shelves. I have not problem getting my largest pots and pans in to be washed. It is nice and sleek. The stainless steel appearance is gorgeous. It fits well with our other appliances. It is easy to clean and does not show much dirt to begin with. I think that the price was very reasonable. It wasnt the most expensive nor the cheapest dishwasher available. The price was right and we have gotten our moneys worth.
This range has a vent in the rear area of the burners. When I run the oven, very hot air blows out into the room from the oven. It is so hot that I cannot use the oven at all during the summer months and have burned my fingers by touching this unused part of the range too. I live in the CA central valley and have good air conditioning but it heats up my whole kitchen, running for up to 30 minutes after the oven/broiler has shut off. The manual confirms that heat from the oven comes thru the vent. I have never had a gas oven that does this. I paid $1274.99 plus tax & delivery for the stove in December of 2011 when remodeling. I had hoped for a good stove to last for a long time. Secondly, when you set the oven for 350 Degrees, it runs so cold that I have to set it up to at least 375 to complete the baking. I am so disappointed with my purchase that I have decided not to buy any more from Sears.
Looks good but performs poorly. Difficulty coming to and staying at desired temperature (figure at least 20 minutes). The oven fans are very noisy and the oven takes a long time to cool down. Called service out twice to fix and they found nothing wrong. If you like to bake this is not the oven you would want.
I spent two hours trying to talk with someone that would help me find out if there is a recall on my range. The outside glass of my oven shattered in the middle of the night. Luckily no one was near the range. I had glass everywhere. I did notice on this site that there was a similar case on Aug 2, 2016, so I wanted to talk with someone to investigate this problem. After spending much time trying to talk to a real person then finally talking with a person that wanted to send a technician to diagnose what my range needed and the cost to have a technician come to my home would start at $89.00, I gave up and just ordered the glass. I am very worried that this has happened more than two times and someone could seriously get hurt.
Price could be better, the cleaning is easy and oven works great. Personally I have a Imperial Flair from the 60s and I love this one better. Should make a new one last longer. Color choices more would be better.
The Kenmore microwave oven was installed by our contractor, new, April 2018. It immediately developed problems: blowing fuse, turning off immediately, etc. It was service five times in the first year. I think it should have been replaced, but no. Their warranty literature says it will be fixed or replaced but thats not how it works out. Most of the issues were with the design of the door latch. This I find is a common issue with microwave ovens. The servicer took over 5 months to figure it out and repair. Now the microwave oven is blowing circuit breaker again but its out of warranty so Sears refuses to cover repairs or replace. Doesnt matter to them they they manufactured a faulty product. Once out of warranty its screw you.
