The best dryer I ever own. If you own one of these you will fall in love with this one and it will do the job for you. You might pay a little more for it but it will be worth it. It will take big loads. Little loads also. Will get your clothes dry like you. You will be happy with it like it was for me. It is worth the money. You can get it in many different colors. It will fit in with your others thing and will always be in style and also can be put almost anywhere. It is a good value. The price is in your price range. Also it will always do the job for the price and will be right for you and you will be happy with it.

I purchased a Kenmore elite microwave three years ago. Model # 790-80373310. I only use my condo four months per year. So the unit is hardly used. It is an over the oven hooded convection as well. Problem is (could turn out to be a fire hazard) the microwave does not count down the seconds nor does it respond to stop or any other command. It just keeps on going. Sears response is that they would send someone for 249$ to look at it. I would like to know if I should report this to Safer Products Recall or if anyone has had a similar problem.

Kenmore Elite double wall oven is not safe. The top oven which I use frequently has oven racks that no longer fit. The interior wall has bowed due and the technician indicated that my oven is no longer safe to use. I will need to replace the wall which would cost me a little over $500 plus the $75 tech fee. Sears offered their warranty insurance and would cover up to $500 plus reimburse the $75 tech fee. But again, does this solve the problem? The self-cleaning will cause the walls to bow again and from what I see, there seems to have been flames that left burnt marks around the interior front vents. I am reporting my complaint to www.cpsc.org and to Sears as well. From this site, there are five reports, all a Kenmore model. I was told by a Sears consumer complaint officer that my model is made by LG and that I should call them because it is a manufacturing problem. Im not buying from Sears again.

Kenmore Range model 970-67843 - Hello, We are hoping that you can help us resolve our defective Kenmore range, which we purchased new from Sears in Kelowna, BC 4 years ago. We have always purchased Kenmore appliances, and have always been happy with them. So when we lost our home to a fire in 2009, and rebuilt it, we once again, purchased all Kenmore appliances including Frigidaire manufactured range and fridge. We felt confident that we were buying a quality product, but did purchase the 3 year extended warranty as well, which has of course, expired. Then this Thanksgiving, Oct 2014, we had just about finished cooking our Thanksgiving dinner when we heard a buzzing noise and saw black smoke coming from the back to the range. We turned it off and the next day, turned the oven on, only to find that it did not work at all. The cooktop does work still. We called Sears only to be told that the warranty was expired and we were out of luck. So we took the range to a repair service, who told us that it would cost us at least $500.00 to fix the oven. This does not seem right, when our appliance is only four years old. Clearly there was a manufacturing defect. We cannot afford to buy a new range, or pay hundreds of dollars to fix this one, and we are asking Frigidaire, as the manufacturer, to stand behind your product. We have been without an oven for two months now, and that is not an easy thing at this time of year. Please respond and let us know that we can feel confident in our purchase. This stove is not only defective, but dangerous, and should be recalled.

Mom always used and spoke positively about her Kenmore appliances. My initial expectations were met because the appliance was very nice and looked very good. The refrigerator was installed easy. Also, all the drawers and compartments were easy to understand, and clean. I like the reliability - never had refrigerator repaired. I like the ergonomic handle - easy to open & easy on the hand. I like the effective crisper drawer - keeps produce fresher. I like the temperature control dial, can turn temperature down when I am gone for an extended period. However, I would improve the length and width of some compartments on the interior door to fit a wider range of containers. I would also improve the seal on the door because it no longer seals closed as good as when it was new. I would make the entire refrigerator scratch proof.

I bought a Kenmore gas range from Sears in Sept. 2012. I recently tried to use the broiler and the self cleaning features (not at the same time of course). When using these features, the range produced an extreme amount of a chemical smelling smoke that filled my house and set off my smoke detectors. I called a technician and was told that the unit was burning off a cutting oil that is used in the manufacturing process and that the smoke was perfectly normal. REALLY??? My husband has asthma and has had to leave the house because of the smoke. I cant get anyone from Sears of Kenmore to help me. I am incurring costs like crazy trying to get this mess cleaned up, paying for my husbands hotel and paying a company to come in and run air scrubbers. I have also had to remove the stove from the house in order to reduct the smell of toxins and now I have no way to cook for my family.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite 14 months ago and used the self cleaning for the first time and when I opened the oven after the cleaning cycle was completed the paint on the bottom of the oven was blistered. I have made over 10 calls to Kenmore/Sears and have gotten nowhere because I didnt purchase the extended warranty, so now I have a $1700 oven that I cant use. Kenmore and Sears need to stand behind their products. To everyone that I have shown the pictures of the inside they all say this is a defect and not to use the oven since its getting too hot that the paint blistered.

Kenmore Ultra Bake Super Capacity Free Standing Gas Oven - Our oven stopped
Kenmore Ultra Bake Super Capacity Free Standing Gas Oven - Our oven stopped working right before Thanksgiving of 2012. It would not hold a temperature or even turn on at times. We had the control panel replaced for $300, and it got us through Thanksgiving. The oven originally cost $600 so to replace the control panel was very expensive. Right after Thanksgiving, it began to work inconsistently again. Our most recent incident was where the oven stayed on and increased the heat even though we turned it off and the control panel said that the oven was off. The gas was still on and clearly, the oven was increasing in temperature. We then got the error message E2-F3 which is the warning that it was too hot. We could not get it to turn off so we called the gas company to come right away. The gas man that showed up said that if we had cut the power to the house, the gas would have remained on unless we turned the gas valve off as well. This stove is too dangerous to keep. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Kenmore Elite dual oven Electric Range Model 790. Purchased this stove in l
Kenmore Elite dual oven Electric Range Model 790. Purchased this stove in late 2009. Within months, the touch sensors on the back panel would work only intermittently. Called Sears to have repairs made to my new stove and they walked us through pressing lots of buttons on the display board to reset it. Problem persisted, but didnt have the time/energy to look into it further. Months later, the top oven stopped working correctly. Not sure what happened, but anything we cooked was raw on top and burned to a crisp on the bottom. A few more calls later to their service department where, once again, they walked us through the process of turning the top oven on to as hot as it would go. Recording the temperature using a thermometer we had to place in the oven, turn the oven down, wait for it to cool down, record the temp, etc., etc.Again, we gave up and decided my time is more valuable than a working top oven and had already spent HOURS on the phone being shuffled around from department to department (Warranty Dept, Customer Service, Customer Solutions, Home Warranty, back to customer Service where I was transferred incorrectly back to Home Warranty...). So, we lived with an intermittently working board and now a clearly improperly heating top oven. BUT - we didnt buy the extended warranty so we were now out of luck since a year has since passed.Fast forward three blissful (not) years with this piece of crap oven and we start to notice that the racks in the bottom oven seem to be very loose. Hmmmm. Take all racks out, rearrange them thinking that perhaps they have designated slots in which each rack fits, but they all seem to have the same problem. On the phone to Customer Service we go... And again we are transferred all over the organization until finally we land upon a person that might be able to help me. IF we are willing to pay $280 for a service contract upon which they will send a tech out to make repairs up to $500. If I dont want to go that route, I could always sign up for a Home Warranty ($55/month for 1yr contract or $35/month for 1yr contract for appliances) OR a Service Smart Agreement - again for repairs UP TO $500. After that, I pay for it... Oh yeah, I had to pay either a $90 or $60 service call each time a tech came out.At this point, my life is getting shorter and shorter and I decide I cant spent any more time being dragged around by the nose by Sears any longer and wave the white flag - until one day, I leaned down (to the floor, because this is where the bottom oven is) to lift a roast out of the oven and the racks suddenly collapse spraying bubbling, scalding juice all over the front of my arms, chest and legs. The oven walls seem to be expanding every time we turn this thing ON! Im now down to ONE rack in the bottom oven, a non-functional top oven (unless you like your cookies and biscuits raw on the top and charred on the bottom) and an intermittently working sensor - that, by the way, I rely on to use the top burners. If I could give this stove - and Sears Customer Service (Im looking at you, Cheryl) negative stars, I would.I tried today to give it one more go at getting this thing serviced by Sears since the aluminum foil that Ive had to wrap around the sides of the racks in the oven (so that they will take up some space and not collapse on me under the weight of a casserole dish) is going to need to be beefed up soon, but it was once again fruitless. I spent HOURS on the phone going through the merry-go-round of transfers from one department to another and in the end, spoke with NINE different people in different departments until I ended with the above esteemed Cheryl in Customer Solutions who listened patiently to my story (which, by this time I had been a little sick and tired of reiterating) and went on to tell me that since I hadnt purchased an extended warranty through them that I was out of luck.Really? Even though my first call to complain about this happened within months of owning it - when it was under the one year warranty? Again, she called to my attention that I never even had a service person out to my house. Yeah, no kidding Cheryl, because they had ME to do the work for them - which I did, by spending hours over the phone pressing this button, relaying the info to the tech on the phone, pressing that button, relaying the info. etc, etc. Sears did a really good job of stringing me along long enough that I was out of warranty and they could wash their hands of the whole thing. For generations, my family has been die-hard Sears appliance customers and have always had excellent products and service. That is a thing of the past. Get you in, sell you the appliance, and get you to spend even MORE money on a warranty. God knows one shouldnt expect a $2000 stove to last longer than a year... Ill be buying my appliances locally from here on out.

I purchased the double oven range in 2006. Since that time I have continued to experience problems with the main board electrical panel. It has continued to malfunction by going completely blank, beeping randomly, not allowing buttons to be pressed, turning off while in mid-cook and more issues of inconvenience. I have had service on my range performed by Sears-certified technicians several times and the issue continues to re-occur. Service dates and costs issues include: June 30th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced for a total cost of $413.12 August 27th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced. November 4th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced. December 10th 2014 - main board electrical panel replaced and broiler burner fixed.Since that time I have continued to experience the same problem with the main board electrical panel. The range has again begun to malfunction to the point where it has become nearly inoperable. I have recently called Sears-certified technicians and was informed that there was nothing they could do and I would again need to pay $400-$500 for a service visit and part to repair the same issue again.Given the multiple issues with the same part, I feel there is a defect either with the parts or with my specific range that should be repaired or replaced without any additional costs from the consumer. I purchased a top of the line oven and have continued to experience the same problem even after multiple attempts of repair and additional money that has been put into a unit that should still be working properly.

I purchased my Kenmore refrigerator from my local Sears appliance sale. I was able to bundle a warranty package and included annual maintenance inspections to make my purchase worry free. The 25 cubic foot size of the refrigerator gave plenty of room. Also, the water and ice dispenser was a great addition to the fridge. Moreover, the stainless steel finish went well with the range and dishwasher in the kitchen which were all Kenmore and look fantastic. Their appliances are reliable and a good value.

We bought a Kenmore Power Miser 12 from Sears, one of the best they had with 12 years warranty on parts and supply of a new heater in case of leak. Last Friday I found my basement flooded. The WH was dripping water and rust was coming out from under the cap and other places. I stopped the water and turned the electricity off, then called Sears. They said s.b. would call us within 24 hours to set up an appointment. However nobody called. The same thing was happening again and again from Saturday, Sunday, Monday. This morning (Tuesday) they told me that they have no technicians in my area to verify it. (Its laughable - I live in NYC suburb and 1 mile from Sears store in Yorktown Heights). I was told to find a licensed water heater technician to confirm that water heater is not repairable and then they can replace it. I have to pay whatever the technician for verification asks and then the installation itself. When I asked them for more details how to arrange things, how the technician will let them know that the WH really needs to be replaced they disconnected me. Even after another 40 minutes on phone I could not get back to my case again. Knowing that customers cannot wait too long with leaking water heater, they frustrate them but doing nothing, telling them lies that s.b. would help them. The only purpose of this bureaucracy is to give up their rights. I hate Sears for this. Now I am stuck. I cannot get anybody from Sears to come and fix it or replace it. I am sorry I didnt get a tank from somewhere else. I wont shop at Sears again.

My Kenmore refrigerator was a second-hand gift from my father when he purchased a new, smaller refrigerator after my mother passed. The refrigerator works well for many years and is very roomy. When the shelves are arranged efficiently, everything fits nicely. The freezer had lots of space for food and ice and enough space for large soda bottles and multiple gallon jugs. The freezer freezes quickly and refrigerator keeps foods at a safe temperature.

I purchased a Kenmore range on June 15, 2012. A small amount of tomato sauce dripped into the space between the two pieces of glass on the door. I called Sears repair and they do not cover that in the warranty. It will cost me around $150 to have it fixed. I feel that this is a flaw in the design of the oven. I have cooked for 50 years and never ever had this problem. I realize there needs to be a vent to allow hot air to escape. How are they designing the ranges differently now than decades ago? I will have to look at the smeared glass for the next 10 years.

It had no marks no scratches on i. All the knob were and still are working properly. Kenmore Elite oven model#: 790.4107 - We broke the glass top and a serviceman just finished replacing the glass top and we noticed the glass door handle was loose. So he then begin tightening the oven door handle at the screws when the entire outside glass door cover exploded throwing glass on both of us and all across the room. It was obvious from looking at how the door was constructed that a design flaw was the cause BUT neither the manufacturer or Sears would accept responsibility And both said the other designed the oven and passed the blame on the other. Because we had no warranty or a Sears serviceman doing the job at $175.00 more, Sears refused accepting any fault but our own.

Please dont buy Kenmore, or from Sears. My stove caught on fire last night (11/21/14). Sears wont replace it they want me to pay for the repair....NOT, so here is what happened: We cut the oven to warm up then walked away. We heard a popping then a smell of wires burning. If we had not been in the kitchen this would be a different story. I call Sears, oh they want me to pay to have them come look at it, I dont think so! The earliest they can come to look at it is DECEMBER 2nd, Wait that is a week and a half! They told me that I cant get it replaced without me paying for it even if it is faulty wires. In April of 2011, we purchased model 790.48763900 Kenmore (Electrolux Canada). We had problems with length of time and reliability of oven temps. so didnt use it much. After exactly one year, 4 days out of warranty, the racks in the oven started falling, splashing food and ruining baking projects. Called for service and was told that the sides had bowed out because of use of foreign made cheap materials. I was charged $75 for this good news. He could replace the interiors for $400 per oven! I called Sears Service(?) and was moved, transferred, Blue Ribbon Service, etc. as in other posts. Absolutely no satisfaction or solutions but to spend $800. They had never heard of this problem. Baloney... stonewalling and not admitting inferior production materials. I reported to Consumer Product Safety Commission and related other posts. No satisfaction there either and no follow up. Why are they there? Only satisfaction is to get the word out to avoid ever purchasing another Kenmore, Electrolux product. American steel, manufacturing and customer service... RIP.

Kenmore doesnt cost too much more than the older dishwashers did that are very loud. It was worth the upgrade because of how quiet it runs and how nice it looks. It is also easy to keep clean and the stainless-steel surface doesnt smudge too badly. It blends in well with the other appliances and looks good. Once you use it a few times, you can figure out how to arrange it so that a full sink of dishes all fit. The top shelf doesnt have as much room as it should. Larger cups dont fit on the top and have to be hand-washed. But overall it was a decent value for the money.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite 790.48883.110 built-in microwave to match my Elite built-in oven. The Elite microwave electronics fried within a few months while still under warranty. The electronics were replaced but fried again a year later while out of warranty. This microwave is a LEMON. There is a design or manufacturing defect in this unit. Sears is retailing the microwave for $2,000 (I paid $1,300). I have a Hamilton Beach microwave that I purchase at Walmart for $65 at it works like a charm. Why cant Sears make a $2,000 microwave that lasts for a year? The fun begins when you contact Sears Customer Care. The first thing that the non-English speaking person told me was that I needed to contact Electrolux because they were the ones who actually made the microwave. Duh? I bought the microwave at Sears and it has Kenmore labeled on the front door! I really dont care which company in China made the unit, Sears is the responsible party! But this is what Sears Customer Care operators are trained to do. After much complaining, I was finally turned over to an English-speaking operator. His job was to sell me a $500 per year insurance policy. I told him, Thanks but no thanks! If I have to spend $500 it will go toward yanking out the Kenmore unit and replacing it with another brand!By the way, the microwave (when actually working) gives off an ear-piercing beep every 15 seconds that is extremely obnoxious. This beep cannot be turned off or adjusted. DONT BUY THIS LEMON OR ANY OTHER APPLIANCES FROM SEARS...!!! Sears used to be a good company but has turned into a pile of horse manure!

I told the salesman I needed a propane water heater and he told us, they only sold propane heaters at his location. He looked it up and I got one along with the parts to hook it up. The unit was supposed to be for propane and the box was mark so, so I took it home and hooked it up. It started right up and ran fine for three months, then stopped working. After some head wringing, I found the cause and a reset button by the thermo coupler, rest it and it didnt work on the light setting, have to put it on low now to light. Noticed the top of the flame was a bright orange, an indication it was a gas heater, not propane, then noticed the units tag says gas only. I went back to store and they refused to help me saying, We didnt install it so were not helping you, they also refused to order, or supply me with a conversion kit for l.p. and referred me to a local hardware store, who told me it was an item we had to get through Sears.I tried looking up for the conversion kit on their site myself, but their website wont correctly search for the item, I either got ceiling fans or something else. I tried using their online assistant and they kept trying to look up for the wrong parts, and didnt know how to look them up either.

Purchased a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator 2.5 years ago. 3 Months ago the Ice maker started dripping water and freezing up. Cost 270.00 for a repair person to come out and realign the water feed to the ice maker. Now the entire unit is not getting cold. $400 worth of parts and a bill to me for $367 plus $99 service fee. The Kenmore Elite Over the stove Microwave purchased a 14 months ago, fan was staying on. Service fee was going to be an additional $249 for the service technician to look at it while he was already at my home. The phone center where you had to call would not discuss any other options and even had the nerve to keep me on the line every time I called trying to sell me a home warranty on appliances that are less than 3 years old!!!Is that what we can expect from Kenmore? For their products to not even last a year after warranties run out? Based on the cost of the $500 a year warranty and $249 service call repair costs they must believe that their equipment will break down at least twice a year for the warranty to be effective or save the consumer money. I Think I will try another Brand.

I love the pretty color, it matches my other kitchen appliances perfectly. Its very nice and I like the way they made the switches and buttons on it. I love the size too cause it holds all my dishes perfectly with plenty of space. I love the way its made all my dishes fit in each little space just right. I really love the way the Kenmore washes. My dishes always come out really clean Spot free. I would recommend this dishwasher to others. Great buy. It was in my price range and something that I could afford. It was very fairly priced and affordable. I really love it. Thank you Kenmore.

We bought top loading high efficiency low water washer SN C54547545 in July 2016. It took a lot longer to wash a load. This year 2019 it started acting strange. The clothes were too wet and I’d drain/spin again. Checked the troubleshooting section-nothing worked. My husband put clothes in dryer while I was out and the load was too heavy, causing my dryer to burn up. Now I’m looking to buy both. Washers should last longer than 3 years!

Bought this fridge and matching stove 3yrs ago. I purchased this brand, as did much research on reviews of Kenmore. With that and feeling Sears had a quality product, I purchased them. Three years later, my fridge went totally out. I had no reason to think a Kenmore would crash in 3 years. Threw out hundreds of dollars in food. And this is where things go horribly wrong. There is no longer a warranty, it’s only a year. Sears wants $1700 to repair. I don’t have a $$ tree in my yard. So then I bought a Choice Home warranty. The rep on the phone said, No worries ma’am, this is covered. I told him it was already out. Waited my 30 days, and filed a claim. They send out the same tech as Sears. He’s in the house 3 minutes, tops. Calls me to say they won’t cover it. Pre-existing condition. I’ve now paid for 2 service calls. And no working fridge still.I turn to Kenmore and reach out for help. I gave them 2 voices, either fix my fridge for free or replace with a comparable fridge to what I have. The man chose to repair it. Five phone calls later, Yes it’s in your file, diagnostic fee waived, no charges on parts and labor. But, yesterday, the tech calls wanting to know if I still want him there. He has no paperwork that there’s no charge. Mind you, Kenmore set this up and supposedly wrote notes. I called Kenmore. Oh yes, it’s right here, no charges. He says, I’ll send this over for your tech. Hours later, he don’t have this to come fix it. I call back. Now, this guy says he has no access to those notes and wants to transfer me to another department. I still have no working fridge. I’ve contacted 2 local tv stations to look into my story, and hopefully get it fixed. Buyer beware. Buy another brand, not a Kenmore Elite. It was priced just under $3000. Not worth it.

I purchased my piece of junk Kenmore range Model 790.9745 in 11/09. I have had a reoccurring issue since the glass exploding and shattering for no apparent reason. The glass in the door has slipped on 3 separate occasions, requiring a service call and time waiting for repairs. On 12/13/2012, the glass was replaced after exploding. On 3/2/2013, the glass was replaced after having slipped, revealing the hardware which was holding it in place. On 6/8/2013, the glass was replaced once again due to slipping and revealing the hardware. Today, I have phoned customer service once again and have received no satisfaction from the numerous phone conversations. Each time the supervisor has been less than helpful in their ability to satisfy the customer. I would think that Sears would be a bit more concerned about rectifying this situation and stand behind what they sell and repair this problem. I will not buy another thing from Sears and I will be sure to share my poor experience with Everyone I know! I am disgusted!

Our Kenmore dishwasher has a fairly large capacity, sufficient for my small family. The dishwasher performs quietly and gets our eating utensils dried spotlessly. The only problem I have is that the controls are not easy to get at. In my case, the kitchen countertop overhangs the dishwasher controls. Other than that, this purchase has to be one of my best investments. We went to Sears to price appliance and wound up with a package deal (ie: refrigerator, gas stove, and the dishwasher). They are all Kenmores.

This really gets our clothes clean. Its very quiet, wrings the clothes out perfectly and dries the clothes very quickly. It also hold a good amount of clothing so it cuts laundry time. We love it. It holds more than our last one. It has a clean look, too. Its not over the top with buttons. It is to understand and operate. Even the kids can figure it out which is very helpful. It was just perfect for our price range - very affordable though we had little difficulty raising the money for our new washer. But it works quietly and is effective for our daily needs.

I spent two hours trying to talk with someone that would help me find out if there is a recall on my range. The outside glass of my oven shattered in the middle of the night. Luckily no one was near the range. I had glass everywhere. I did notice on this site that there was a similar case on Aug 2, 2016, so I wanted to talk with someone to investigate this problem. After spending much time trying to talk to a real person then finally talking with a person that wanted to send a technician to diagnose what my range needed and the cost to have a technician come to my home would start at $89.00, I gave up and just ordered the glass. I am very worried that this has happened more than two times and someone could seriously get hurt.

I have been using this product for over a year now and it has been working very efficiently. When I load the dishes, the washer removes all food and stains in minutes and makes the dishes like plates, spoons and even big vessels absolutely clean. It states that it removes 99.99% bacteria while washing them. The dishes do not feel wet when I remove them. They are very dry and I do not need to wipe them with a cloth. It is larger in capacity than my previous dishwasher even though it looks smaller. There is plenty of room on the top rack for tall glassware and the top tray lifts and lowers for bigger pots. The sleek, nondescript stainless steel finish allows it to go with pretty much any brand of appliance that you may have in the rest of the kitchen. The top buttons are aesthetically pleasing. It looks good in my kitchen. This dishwasher was an excellent value and beat all other dishwashers in its price range. It has great price and it looks like it should have cost more.

I bought a Kenmore stove August 2013 for close to $1,000. This week as my husband was standing in front of it (luckily) there was a puff of smoke out the back and it stopped working. We were told by Sears that they could send out a repairman for $240. My husband removed the digital controls and you can plainly see the part that caught fire. He took it to our local Sears and the manager said it would not have been covered under warranty anyway because all that covers is the drive train of the stove. Basically the shell, since this isnt a car we are talking about. He said he could order the part for $109 and it would take 5-7 days to come in. We told him we thought Sears should cover that cost and they would not. In the past 20 years we have completely furnished two kitchens from Sears in an attempt to keep the company afloat. I will never buy anything from them again. I hope when the customer service people - wherever they are - get their pink slips, they see that I have signed them.

I bought the most expensive and top of the line stove over 3k with the thought of getting the best product they offer. If this is Sears Kenmore best I feel very sorry for anyone that paid less. Dual convection fans but cooks uneven. Takes 20 min to come up to full temp if it’s at 400 and told by Sears service tech this is normal. My 20 year old Jenn-Air it replaced took 8 min to come up to 450. The front panel looks like hell after 1 year. My dog can swipe his nose across it and turn on burners. It’s a safety hazard as done it when a towel was on the burner. The top glass if you look at it wrong it will scratch. I use aluminum bottom Swiss diamond pots and pans never made a mark on the Jenn-Air and this thing looks worse now after 2 years than my 20 year old glass did on the old stove that had cast iron used on it now and then. This is the finest Chinese garbage ever made. You just cannot buy a quality product anymore no matter what you pay. I tried to get the glass replaced and fix the stove and no luck. I will never buy another Sears/Kenmore product ever again and go out of my way to tell others how poor of a product this really is. Had the Jenn-Air not got the top smashed when I put it out in the shed it would be back in place of this piece of junk and be outside with a big sign on it saying how terrible Sears products and service is now. No wonder Craftsman tools went to Lowe’s and no wonder Sears is now barely above water. Done with them completely. I should have learned my lesson on the terrible Elite dishwasher we have and all the issues with that thing but tried to give them another chance as back 20 years ago products from them lasted forever compared to other brands.

We purchased a Sears slide-in gas range model 790.367 in 2008. Up to this point we have had some issues but nothing major. At this point the racks will no longer stay in place. We learned about this the hard way. This is the same problem others have described. I discussed this with the manager of our local Sears who was unaware of the problem but made a call to a long time service tech who told him that he was aware of this problem. He suggested we slide the unit out and push the walls in. We were not comfortable with this. We are considering making a service appointment but are concerned about paying a lot of money and having the problem recur. I chatted with the Sears expert who was not at all helpful. We are at a loss about what to do. We consider this a serious safety issue and will not use the oven. Like others we paid a lot of money for an oven we cant use. We feel that this is clearly a product defect and that Sears should help us.

Keeps the items I need for food cold enough but it sometimes builds ice in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. The freezer could be larger also. Too small especially in freezer section. Light sometimes gets in way of the food too. I am not sure whether is large as they claim it to be. It is all white and no different than any other refrigerator from Sears or any other store. Kenmore is ok. Depending on the sale prices at Sears, you may need to pay more for a stainless steel finish. Also, temperatures in the right door ran slightly warm. This is a very well-rounded high-end fridge that you can get at a mid-range price. If stainless steel is a must, upgrade to the 72483 (or to the LG model its based on). Otherwise, the 72482 offers the best value in its class.

I just bought a coop two months that had been renovated and the kitchen has Kenmore appliances. Dishwasher and refrigerator seem fine, but the gas range (model number 790.7050 or 7060) runs super-hot. I first noticed that the French fries cooking at 450 degrees really came out as crispy critters, so I turned the oven down about 50 degrees and its better. The real problem is that the oven is so hot that I have to run both the vent on high and a fan in order to cook something on the stove top at the same time. Ive never had this problem with any other gas range Ive had (Im 62) so its really puzzling. Now that Ive read the other comments about the ovens, I will be super careful and am considering just getting another gas range. I think this is the way this thing is designed. Even at the lower oven heat, the temperature in the kitchen is unbearable. This is from someone who hardly uses air conditioning in the summer. Anyone else have this experience?

This range has a vent in the rear area of the burners. When I run the oven, very hot air blows out into the room from the oven. It is so hot that I cannot use the oven at all during the summer months and have burned my fingers by touching this unused part of the range too. I live in the CA central valley and have good air conditioning but it heats up my whole kitchen, running for up to 30 minutes after the oven/broiler has shut off. The manual confirms that heat from the oven comes thru the vent. I have never had a gas oven that does this. I paid $1274.99 plus tax & delivery for the stove in December of 2011 when remodeling. I had hoped for a good stove to last for a long time. Secondly, when you set the oven for 350 Degrees, it runs so cold that I have to set it up to at least 375 to complete the baking. I am so disappointed with my purchase that I have decided not to buy any more from Sears.

My fiancee whose name the appliance is listed under {Diane ** they assumed I was Mr. **} purchased a Sears Kenmore elite gas range model 79075343310 in October 2013. It has been used roughly a dozen times if that. Well on 1/26/15 we had made a pizza and were enjoying it when we heard a large pop. Upon investigation we discovered that the inner door glass had exploded and shattered. It was contained inside by the front and back panels. I figured because the warranty was only expired by three months that Sears would foot the bill for repairs. Not so! Their argument was warranty had expired. Okay understand that but when the hell have you ever heard of oven door glass exploding simply by using the oven. Definitely one for Ralph Nader. Ridiculous. What if it had been the outer glass with a toddler or family pet walking by. Believe Sears like the rest of iconic American businesses continue to sell us down the river with inferior products.

We purchased Kenmore 790.80332310 in April, 2018. We upgraded all of our appliances. We had our original Kenmore appliances for 20 years. On New Years Day, 2019 I cooked on top of our Kenmore range and in the oven. While cooking the fan from the Kenmore over-range microwave automatically came on as usual. After a period, it stopped. I had not used the microwave at all that day. I completed cooking on the range top but the food in the oven continued to bake. I walked in the adjacent Family Room to watch the Rose Bowl parade. While sitting watching the parade, I began smelling a strange odor. While walking into kitchen, my husband and I heard a loud boom. I walked to the microwave, there was a flame inside the cabinet and the glass turn table was totally shattered. We moved into action to smother the fire to prevent the flame from accessing the magnetron. The next day, we called Sears Service. The technician was scheduled for a 12:00 PM to 5 PM window of time. At 6:19 PM, I received a text that technician was on the way. At 7:00 PM I called, dispatcher could not locate technician. A technician was rescheduled for Monday. The technical arrived on Monday and said that he came on Friday but could not see an address (our address is located on our mailbox). When the technician viewed the cabinet of the microwave and he stated that he had never seen anything like that. He called his senior team but stated that he was having difficulty in cell phone service. He could forward photos of the cabinet to the Senior Team. The exterior of the microwave looks brand new. The technician departed. We received an email stating that the fire was caused by customer negligence. Therefore, the warranty was cancelled and no further action would be taken. We called Service. We were told that the microwave was totally burned by us. We explained that this microwave is setting in our cabinet. It is totally burned. If you walked into our kitchen you would never know about the damage within the cabinet. Of course, my husband disconnected the microwave from electricity to prevent another fire from happening. We asked for another technician to make an assessment of the damage. We were told that we would have to pay a service charge for a technician to come out again. We consented to pay the charge for an assessment. Sears then proceeded to attempt to send the same technician again. My husband called in protest. He was told that the particular technician was the technician for this area. We are totally disappointed in this defective product and the Customer Service rendered by Sears. They have no regard for the customers who purchase their products.

Apparently my problem of the oven racks falling is quite common with Kenmore Elite ovens because the walls are too thin. If this is a design flaw or intentional to generated more revenue, we will not know unless the government gets involved and requires a recall. This was the answer I got after several days of the run around with Sears saying it is a Kenmore problem and Kenmore telling me they are owned by Sears and it is a Sears problem. All the while denying there is even a problem and the only way they would acknowledge the problem is if the government had enough complaints. This is a $500.00 fix and they use the same defective walls to replace the existing. Im completely exasperated and hope this complaint will add to the many I have seen and something will be done. It is a Safety issue most of all and people can easily get burned with falling hot racks.

My Kenmore electric range (Model #790-9421340D; VF 83045790) is about 5 years old. In December 2011, the range shut down completely due to a faulty control board for the variable temperature burner. I had the board replaced. A couple of days ago, I went to turn on this same variable temp burner and literally saw an electric current arc in front of my eyes! The surge caused my main circuit breaker to home to shut down cutting off all electricity. Thank God I was not hurt, but I shudder to think what might have happened. I purchased a Kenmore Elite top load washer in 12/2011. In roughly 12-13 months, the area around the bleach dispenser started to show signs of rust/corrosion. I contacted the Sears customer solutions group and they arranged a service call, which I paid for, to assess and confirm that there truly is rust/corrosion around the dispenser! I was quoted almost $300 for the repair, however the technician stated that there was a Service Flash for this very issue which apparently warrants a notification and how to handle it. This service flash SF26-813 clearly states as a repair as having a redesigned cover and dispenser along with having the cover completely painted. This obviously was a manufacturing defect that, when I started addressing with Sears, turned into a hot potato hand-off, from one department to another, without any sign of helping resolve the issue. They even sent me to LG, the manufacturer, to try to have them do something for me, instead of them bringing the issue to LG as their vendor and expecting resolution and seeking reparations. I finally was given a case number that was essentially useless since there is no direct contact person to work with, which in effect results in multiple solutions group people passing on emails trains without any point of contact. I even asked for direct contact and provided my phone number through every email...but still no call. This is the ultimate shell game with consumers...create a customer solutions group to help you...but dont actually have this group do anything to foster customer solutions. I was however offered $65 for part of the original service call. I even asked if they even interact with their vendors... in this case LG, to force them to own up to poor engineering and design, to help rebuild credibility and demonstrate responsibility for their products. I am Sears customer not LGs, and as such Sears should have an obligation to me. They in turn need to hold LG accountable for their inferior manufacturing design. Whatever happened to taking care of the customer? Sadly...this is a bygone saying.

Today I turned on the Kenmore Elite stove and there was a bright flash from behind the stove and a puff of smoke came up from behind. The breaker immediately tripped. I called the Sears number and was transferred to your their call center 1-800-469-4663. I talked to a very pleasant woman who informed me that my warranty was up on November 9th and there was nothing she could do for me but schedule a service call. The earliest date was Friday. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and was told they were not given the authority to change anything or help any farther. She told me this was my best option. Thursday, Thanksgiving I have a house full of family coming and no more Sear oven to use. My hope was Sears could stand by their appliances and in good faith be able to fix the problem. We have purchased thousands of dollars in Sear appliances, mower etc. One year and done on your top of the line appliances doesnt make for the bestadvertisement. I hope you can find it in your budget to rectify the tight spot Sear will be putting us in.

Love this ice maker and cold water. Very economical also. Has shelves that you can move to suit your needs and easy to clean. The side of the refrigerator has so much room for milk, soda. They can fit any size soda bottle. Its 25 cubic. It is fantastic and meets all my family needs. You can arrange the shelves for height to fit your family needs. It has 2 drawers on the bottom for vegetables and cold cuts. Its freezer has loads of shelves and a huge slide out bin on the bottom. It freezes excellent, nothing is ever soft. I own the stainless steel one. It is very attractive and easy to clean with Windex and paper towels. I love the sleek modern look in my kitchen. It goes with any color on any other appliances you might own. It really looks like an expensive appliance but it was very reasonable price at my Sears store. It freezes very fast so food is not ruined and nothing has to be thrown out which saves you lots of money in the long run.

Power went out due to windstorm and when it came back on I realized my Kenmore Elite 42562 4.6 cu. ft. Slide in Electric Range wouldnt work. Sears sent a repairman and it was about $900.00 to repair since it was the electronic controls. The range cost $2000.00 and I had it for just over a year so I wanted it fixed. They said I needed 4 parts, but after almost 2 months I had only received 1 part. Eating out is expensive so it was frustrating. Then I received a call from customer service saying they cant get the parts. Customer service is having the part picked up tomorrow by UPS and will then credit me, but I assume I will be out the cost of my range. I am beyond frustrated and when I looked online tonight the range is still for sale. Do not buy this range!

We had our Kenmore electric range for only 3 years when the oven temperature broke. After getting a technician to replace the sensor probe, we learned the entire electronic control board needed to be replaced as the oven continued to overheat. The cost of replacing this part was too expensive so after just 3 years we need to buy a new range. I WILL NEVER buy a Kenmore product again.

All have had issues and repairs except for the dishwasher which is rarely used. Most recent, the oven door simply exploded on its own. This is when you have to wonder about a companys credibility when selling such junk. Wheres the consumer protection when product like this can cause bodily injuries? I would never buy anything from Sears again. Its time to cut up my Sears card.

I have to basically hand wash with soap and a scrub brush beforehand in order to have them come out clean. I am beginning to think of dishwashers as sanitizers rather than something that actually cleans the dishes. Its really quite frustrating. I can fit a lot in there, even though its pretty small. The only issue I have is that some cups dont fit in the top and pans have to be washed separately but thats pretty normal. Its nothing special really, just your typical dishwasher, but its a sleek black that fits nicely with my stove and oven. That being said, it isnt ugly either. As I said before, Im dissatisfied because I shouldnt be required to hand wash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Its not only this one Ive had this problem with though, nor this brand.

I had the original Maytag Gemini double oven range. I have now had the Kenmore Elite Double Oven Range for 2+ years. The new range is far superior. Of course the double ovens being the same size is a great help. Overall, the technology of the Kenmore range is fabulous. I have one main concern, though.... why dont they poll people that own these expensive appliances and ask us what features we want, need or desire? The timer on this range drives me INSANE! Its non-stop, and could seriously wake the dead. I know there is no way to make my second need happen, but, the bottom oven opens onto the floor..... very hard to lift something heavy in and out. Overall, though, this range is far superior to the Gemini.

Refrigerator had enough room for our weekly groceries. The shelves can be moved easily to create the right size storage of larger items like milk and juice. The refrigerator was easy to clean, mainly just wipe clean. It operated efficiently and did not increase electric bill. Temperature stayed constant - did not have some food frozen in section that was not the freezer, as I have had with other refrigerators. The size of the refrigerator was efficient. Milk, Juice, and soft drinks all fit comfortably. In the doors there was enough room for all condiments and bottles of water. It was black, which is a color I like. Doesnt show fingerprints easy. It was easy to wipe clean. It fit in designated area for refrigerator and looked nice with other appliances. This refrigerator was a gift from parents to replace refrigerator that electrical surge ruined. The price was in range of what other similar refrigerators were priced. Delivery was free at store it was bought from. It was also installed free. It was a good price for the size and features.

We bought a new Kenmore electric range model #790.93751102 in 2001. I have not had any problems with the oven until two nights ago. We turned the oven on to 350 degrees and waited for it to preheat. We put cookies in the oven and within a few minutes there was smoke inside. My daughter opened the door which caused flames. She shut the door. Smoke was all over the house and pouring out of the oven. I turned off the oven thinking that would do it. Smoke was still filling the air and the oven was getting hotter. I looked in the door window and noticed the upper element was on. We decided to turn the breaker off. Im so glad I did not open the door because we heard a pop and flames came shooting out of the door and then quickly got sucked back in. At that point I called 911. The fire department was dispatched as well as some deputies. We were instructed not to open the oven door until someone got there. By the time the deputies had arrived, the oven was no longer smoking. When we turned the breaker back on, the upper element went back on, and we hadnt touched the oven. The broiler just turned on for no reason. I contacted Sears, and the technician said he had never heard anything like that happening. I told him he should do a search because I found that there are plenty of us around. I know the unit is not new, but that shouldnt happen. Thank God no one was hurt, but we could easily have been, and our house could have burnt down. Im glad we did not leave the kitchen to go to another room until the timer went off. Thinking about that makes me shudder.

I have always trusted Kenmore appliances to deliver value, performance and reliability. The fact that they are readily available in most areas in America matters since I move a lot. Its nice to know a dealer is nearby for necessary repairs, or more likely, to buy a newer version. There were many models to choose from so I could get the one that fit my apartment situation perfectly. I had a basic model and it was a size good there but also transitioned to my first house with no problem. It was very easy to clean, and keep clean. However its always a battle to chose between amount of features versus price. And more variety in shelving arrangements would have been nice. Gallon milk jugs and 2 liter soda bottles are a challenge in smaller fridges.

My 40 stainless steel Elite Kenmore range/glass top looks impressive on first notice. The Kenmore Electric Range model #790.9011 is a traditional coil top stove
The Kenmore Electric Range model #790.9011 is a traditional coil top stove that I purchased in 2011. Within 2 years of this brand new purchase I had to replace a burner fuse. The part costs $30. Within 5 years, there was a flash of light and a small explosion at the oven control panel and then it went blank. The part cost $170 to replace, assuming that would fix it, according to a parts store expert (he was a former repairman). I didnt think it was worth replacing and had to get a new range. The warranty was for only one year on the Kenmore and according to a store salesman all range brands only have a one year warranty today too. Manufacturers online claim that these types of ranges should last about 16 years. I have since found out that although the latest version of this Kenmore stove rates well with Consumer Reports, it is made by Electrolux, which has a poor repair history and poor brand reliability, according to Consumer Reports. It looks exactly like the Kenmore I bought 5 years ago. I wonder if the Kenmore I purchased in 2011 was also an Electrolux model. I definitely dont recommend the Kenmore Electric Range.
