My Kenmore Oven is Not Heating 
Igniter. The igniter is the most commonly defective part for an oven not heating. The igniter has two main functions. First, the igniter draws electrical current through the oven safety valve to open it. Second, the igniter gets hot enough to glow and ignite the gas in the oven burner. If the igniter gets weak, it will fail to open the safety valve correctly. If the valve does not open, the oven will not heat. To determine if the igniter is defective, observe the igniter when the oven is on. If the igniter glows for more than 90 seconds without igniting the gas flame, this indicates that the igniter is too weak to open the valve. If the igniter is weak, replace it. If the igniter does not glow at all, use a multimeter to test the igniter for continuity. If the igniter does not have continuity, replace it. 

Kenmore Oven doesn't bake evenly 
Bake Element. If the bake element is burned out, the oven will only be heated by the broil element. This will cause the oven to heat unevenly. When the bake element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating. Often, if the element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the bake element for holes or blisters. To determine if the bake element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the bake element does not have continuity, replace it.. 

Kenmore Oven broiler not working 
Broil Element. The broiler element may have burned out. When the broil element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating. Often, if the element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the broil element for holes or blisters. To determine if the broil element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the broil element does not have continuity, replace it. 

Kenmore Stove heating element not working 
Surface Element Board. The surface element board has relays that regulate the power supply to the burners. If one or more of the relays fails, the surface element won’t work. If two or more burners fail at the same time, this indicates that the surface element board is likely at fault. If only one surface element won’t work, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the surface element has continuity, the surface element board might be defective. 

Kenmore Stove burner won't light 
Spark Module. The spark modules provides power to each surface burner spark electrode. If the burner is produces a weak spark, or if the burner sparks intermittently, the spark module might be defective. Before replacing the spark module, first check the spark electrode and the spark wire. If the spark electrode and spark wire are not at fault, the spark module is likely defective. If the spark module is defective, replace it.

Often, if the heating element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the heating element for holes or blisters. To determine if the bake element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the bake element does not have continuity, replace it. 

Kenmore Oven light is out 
Light Assembly. If the oven light is out, the entire light assembly may need to be replaced. Often the light assembly components are not sold separately.

Kenmore Oven not self-cleaning 
Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly. During the oven's self-cleaning cycle, the door lock switch activates the door lock motor to prevent the oven door from being opened. If the door lock motor and switch assembly is defective, the oven door will not unlock once the self-cleaning cycle is complete. On most ovens, you can open the oven door by removing certain screws or panels. Check your owner's manual for further instructions.

Amazing. The dishes came out very clean and no water spots. Even takes off caked on food. Very fast washing and quiet. I would recommend to anyone who needs a new one. Compact but very roomy inside. It fit well in my kitchen and my kitchen is definitely on the smaller side. I have dinner parties often and it can hold all of the dishes. The washer is beautiful. Water spots dont stick and fingerprints are easily wiped off with a wet rag. I prefer the black because it looks sleek and fits in with the kitchen. It was a great price. I am always looking for a bargain and after comparing models and prices this one was the best option and easily within my price range.

This oven cost $1,400. In the fall of 2009, the motherboard crashed. In 2010, it was only used for 8 months. I returned it sometime in November of 2012 because the motherboard completely went down. The manager at Sears, Sarasota, said nothing can be done, but they can give me a 10% discount on a new stove. Talk about not standing behind your sales. My advice to everyone is to buy from a small store so that owner has a commitment to you and the community. I’m taking it back to Sears and dumping it on their doorstep, with sign that says “New stove. No support” and my email on it. What more can I do?

Our oven had no built up grease, and it really wasnt dirty because I take really good care of my things. I read the directions and proceeded. I have done this many times before with other stoves and no problems. After an hour I started smelling an odd odor. My husband said, that is normal, that is the cleaning odor you are smelling from the burn off of the cleaning process. I said I know that smell you are talking about and this seems different. It smells like burning wires or rubber. He said dont worry. After 1 1/2 hours it looked like there was smoke in the kitchen and I said I was too scared to leave the oven on, and the smell just got worse. I shut the stove off and waited until you were allowed to open it. The very top of door turned a yellow brown and the seal around the glass on the inside oven door melted. I am horrified to think what would of happened if I kept the stove on the time the manual said to? I have never used the self cleaning option again. Sears refused to do anything about it. We wanted the door replaced and they suggested a fifty dollar gift card instead! We are now having to replace this stove because I am afraid to use it. Several times after that sometimes when you would turn it on, there would be an unexplained smell, like burning. I was really scared the other day, I turned it on to my normal cooking temp. of 350 and it smelled like wires burning. I quickly turned it off and will now never buy a Kenmore or a stove from Sears again!!!

Unfortunately, the model number has worn off, and Sears cannot give me a correct model for the double, not single, oven from their records. Therefore, the repair guy left without having done anything except charging $99.00 for the house call. I guess I am going to have to use the one oven that works until it doesn’t. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

It has been the “washing machine from hell.” First I noticed the huge amount of lint in the filter of the dryer (same dryer I had with the old washer) when I laundered towels, and these towels were becoming frayed and worn. Then I noticed that there were holes in some towels, as if eaten out by bleach. I had used only as much bleach as indicated in the manual and put it in the bleach dispenser. Finally before my one year warranty ran out, I called for a technician. He found nothing wrong, but noticed that the bleach on my shelf was the “splash-less” type. He said that the bleach just goes to the bottom of the tub and could just stay there and not mix with the water enough and therefore get on the towels. He suggested that I use the “liquid” type bleach. There was no mention in the manual to use only the liquid bleach. I will say that there have been no new holes in my towels, but my towels have continued to wear out at an unusually high rate, and the lint filter on the dryer is still completely full after each load. I also noticed that this washer did not clean well and sometimes noticed that some clothes were not even wet. When I bought this, I had thought that the feature of “deep fill” would be useful, but found that it could only be used with “heavy duty” setting or above, not for “normal” or below. This washer has proven to be very unsatisfactory, and I will buy a new washer when I can afford to do so.

I have been using this product for over a year now and it has been working very efficiently. When I load the dishes, the washer removes all food and stains in minutes and makes the dishes like plates, spoons and even big vessels absolutely clean. It states that it removes 99.99% bacteria while washing them. The dishes do not feel wet when I remove them. They are very dry and I do not need to wipe them with a cloth. It is larger in capacity than my previous dishwasher even though it looks smaller. There is plenty of room on the top rack for tall glassware and the top tray lifts and lowers for bigger pots. The sleek, nondescript stainless steel finish allows it to go with pretty much any brand of appliance that you may have in the rest of the kitchen. The top buttons are aesthetically pleasing. It looks good in my kitchen. This dishwasher was an excellent value and beat all other dishwashers in its price range. It has great price and it looks like it should have cost more.

I built a new home and upgraded all my kitchen appliances to Kenmore Elite. The glass top electric stove has a defective part and Kenmore will not stand behind it. The smallest burner stopped working 13 months after installation. I was told to buy the extended warranty and they replaced the part. Now, three years later, the same part is not working again. I cannot believe that this part is broken twice in five years. There is certainly something wrong with this stove and Kenmore should stand behind their merchandise. As a result, I have half a stove-top and that is it. Sears and Kenmore refused to admit that they are responsible for fixing this.

This fridge lasted almost 3 years before I moved and left it at my old home. It worked very well and the ice machine was fantastic. The produce stayed very fresh also. Very small freezer. Too small to do big shopping trips at one time. Always had to rearrange and stuff things in. The produce drawers are small too. Stainless steel was beautiful. The shininess always showed. The machines were elegant. The inside was refined and modern. It was very nice looking in general. The value was just fine. The price was just right for a machine that lasted for so long and never had an mechanical issues. The value was very balanced.

Purchased Sears Kenmore Elite refrigerator in January of 2013. We had a problem with the water line in January. The tech fixed the problem in February after the part arrived. Next we started having problems with the water dispenser. The dispenser would freeze not allowing us to get any water. We scheduled another repair which took about 3 weeks. The tech came 1 hour 45 minutes late with an 18-year old girl whom he said was his daughter. The tech worked on the refrigerator and left. By the time he got to the end of the driveway the refrigerator was not working again. I called for another service appt. and was scheduled for 2 weeks later. The same repairman arrived on time with the same 18-year old girl. The tech worked on the refrigerator and said he had the temperature as low as it could go and fixed the water dispenser. I was told not to keep the milk at the top of the refrigerator because it was freezing. 2 days after the repairman left the water dispenser was not working again. We were also experiencing things at the top of the refrigerator freezing. Service was called again and about 3 weeks later a tech arrived on time to repair the water dispenser. This time the tech used our hair dryer to unthaw a pipe at the bottom of the refrigerator behind the crisp bins. The tech said that we needed to keep food items away from the walls of the refrigerator and away from the sensor. The tech arranged the items in the refrigerator to help us out. One day after he left the same problem reoccurred. Service was called again and was scheduled 3 weeks later. We are waiting for February 11th to see the outcome of this repair. Someone has to take off work each time we need service. This has been a nightmare! Each time you call service you are transferred and placed on hold for one half hour at a time.

Kenmore Ultra Bake Oven - So apparently this is a thing with Kenmore ovens? I was not in the kitchen when I heard a pop followed by lots of crackling. No one was near the oven, thank god. The oven is 8 years old, but we really dont use it often and do not treat it roughly. There is no good reason why an oven door should explode. This seems to be a well-known problem and yet there are no consumer warnings on new ovens and no recalls that I can find. These ovens are dangerous and should not be in peoples homes. Kenmore should take responsibility for creating an inferior product instead of blaming this obvious defect on consumer use. Very disappointed.

I called the Sears number and was transferred to your their call center 1-800-469-4663. I talked to a very pleasant woman who informed me that my warranty was up on November 9th and there was nothing she could do for me but schedule a service call. The earliest date was Friday. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and was told they were not given the authority to change anything or help any farther. She told me this was my best option. Thursday, Thanksgiving I have a house full of family coming and no more Sear oven to use. My hope was Sears could stand by their appliances and in good faith be able to fix the problem. We have purchased thousands of dollars in Sear appliances, mower etc. One year and done on your top of the line appliances doesnt make for the bestadvertisement. I hope you can find it in your budget to rectify the tight spot Sear will be putting us in.

When the oven got stuck on high and wont shut off, I had to throw the breaker as the oven was too hot to touch. That was a couple of years ago. Sears wouldnt do anything for me. Lets see the Kenmore dishwasher as it had two motors and three thermal fuses replaced. The microwave door is cracking all the way up the handle for no reason. The fridge drawers have broken twice. No wonder Sears is just about out of business.

Also, all the drawers and compartments were easy to understand, and clean. I like the reliability - never had refrigerator repaired. I like the ergonomic handle - easy to open & easy on the hand. I like the effective crisper drawer - keeps produce fresher. I like the temperature control dial, can turn temperature down when I am gone for an extended period. However, I would improve the length and width of some compartments on the interior door to fit a wider range of containers. I would also improve the seal on the door because it no longer seals closed as good as when it was new. I would make the entire refrigerator scratch proof.

I have a small kitchen and so making space is a problem but with this machine it fits perfectly next to our oven and has never cause a problem size wise. With my Kenmore dryer I never really cared about the appearance of my appliances but this product really fits in with my modern theme. My parents had had good experience with Kenmore products so I believed what I was told. What a mistake! I have nothing but continuing problems with the Sears Electric Range. The electronic oven control motherboard has had to be replaced three (3) times because it keeps malfunctioning. I was told by the last repairman that it was because a design defect in the range caused the motherboard to overheat & fail. I called Sears and they just blew me off. I am going to try one more time before hiring a lawyer.It is sad to see how far Sears has fallen. At one time, it was #1 in quality and customer service. Its quality has deteriorated badly. Its customer service is essentially non-existent. Its lack of customer service will cause it to lose more and more customers like me. I didnt mind paying a lot of money but it was fair to expect a quality product and prompt customer service for any problems. Instead, I got a lemon which I am told has a product design and Sears seems to care less. Whatever the cause may be, I am sick and tired of paying to have motherboards replaced. All I wanted was a dependable electric range. So, buyer beware!!!

My Kenmore Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #795.7305 has proven to be a disappointment. Although interiorly spacious with Ice & Water dispenser, a total of 7 bins on either side of the doors & various other nice features, I must warn you, BUYER BEWARE! I have owned this refrigerator LESS than 5 years and have already had to replace two door bins and the ice door bin. All are made of plastic and all bins cracked. The PLASTIC ice door bin costs just under $153. That is some expensive PLASTIC! When consulting the Sears parts department, they mentioned that the new and improved Ice bin is stronger (which leads me to believe that other customers have had same experience and that is why they have revamped the ice bin. The warranty on the $153.00 new, improved PLASTIC ice bin is only ONE YEAR. 365 days! Gone are the days of sturdy, long lasting appliances from Sears. Buyers please think twice! At least with this model. Oh, its just my hubby & I who are in our 60s, so there is no slamming of refrigerator doors or rough handling of these plastic pieces.

The dishwasher does extremely well even on burnt on food. Removes grease with ease and rinses cleanly. It is so easy to operate that even my 10 year old uses it. Being the parent of two children and having a busy life the capacity of the dishwasher is very important. It hold all of our daily dishes and glasses in one wash cycle. The easy clean exterior of the dishwasher is very nice. The controls are not overly obvious and the appliance is eye catching. The interior shelves are nicely arranged and look good. The overall price of this dishwasher is very comparable to many others on the market, but unlike the others this product works very well. We have had no issues with this model.

Whenever I bake something in the oven about 1/2 hour into the cooking process, the screen lights up with F10 and the oven beeps. The only way to stop the beeping is to turn the oven off. When I turn it on again, it beeps 10 minutes later. It is impossible to cook anything, very frustrating and not normal. The stove is approximately 5 years old.

Even though I entertain a lot, it handles the big loads, sometimes with space left for more, and I rarely have to worry about a second load. I love the color I chose, gold or yellow because my kitchen is yellow, my stove is yellow, my refrigerator is yellow, my walls are too! It matches just perfectly. This is my first one, and I have never been so done with handwashing. It was worth every dime I paid for it! A definite asset to anyone, you will never handwash again.

The new floor is covered in water as well. I want Sears to buyback the dishwasher and replace it with a Bosch, KitchenAid, or Whirlpool. (My wife wants to match the stainless from the refrigerator & stove as close as possible.) Hopefully Sears will stand behind this piece of junk. Dont buy a Kenmore dishwasher if it is built by LG. The model number is 66513973K010. Just dont buy anything LG makes....

Once to diagnose the defrost motor not working. Second to put in the defrost motor and put in a rebuilt ice maker which did not work. The last time the tech put in a new ice maker and it is finally working fine. This refrigerator was manufactured by Frigidaire which is usually a very reliable brand. They are make appliances to be throw away just like other products. Sears service can be a problem getting someone in to service appliances. I finally had a couple of good tech who took care of refrigerator, dishwasher and stove. I will never buy another Sears product again.

I called a repairman and a new one was ordered and replaced by him. Less than a year later, the unit failed again, so I sent the defective unit back to the provider and they sent me a replacement. This lasted less than a year again until 3-2013, only this time it blew the breaker (it never had done that before). Upon removing the back cover, I was horrified to find the oven plug that plugs into the control unit melted! I only can say Im glad it didnt start a fire. Im writing this complaint to warn people of a possible fire hazard. Im junking this range.

I was never told this in all my phone calls to Sears in 2008 and during the horrific process I experienced, in 2008, where I had to find the plumber myself and make all the phone calls and arrangements myself since everything Sears was supposed to be doing and they were not.Now I am told there is no warranty on this Power Miser 12 which is 9 years old. I will never get another appliance from Sears again. In my conversation with the representative he just ended it with I hope the rest of your day goes better. If you are planning on buying a water heater, I suggest you run away from Sears. They are not the company they used to be. They just dont care anymore about reputation. By October 2014, I was baking chicken in the oven at 350. I took the chicken out of the oven, closed the oven door, reached for a fork to turn the chicken and the oven suddenly just exploded. There was shattered glass everywhere popping on the floor like popcorn. The experience was extremely frightening and thank God there were no small children or pets around at the time. After the initial shock, we contacted Sears and only received apologies. We were fluffed off as it was no longer under warranty. We have not purchased a new one as yet but would never buy another Kenmore product again. We have shared this experience with our family and friends who are equally as shocked!

After the first cleaning in the top oven, the temperature of the oven was not controllable. If set at 425 it would go to temp and then go down to various lower temperatures. Often as low as 219 degrees. Countless meals were ruined. Sears phone service providers were painfully sympathetic and scheduled 8 appointments over the last year and a half. Control boards were replaced, recalibrations were made and each time the service person pronounced the oven fine. But each time we try to cook something in the oven it is ruined because the temperature drops. We finally got moved to the elite lemon guarantee replacement department and after expressing deep unhappiness and growing frustration we were sent up to a supervisor who approved a $970 replacement credit. The double oven is selling for about $2500. How is this a replacement after a year and a half of broken oven? So dont waste your money on Kenmore or Sears products and dont buy their service agreement.

We had not taken the extended warranty because our parents had Kenmores for years. We are on a fixed income and do NOT have the money $90 service call and replacement parts of $360 - to spend on the stove. It would be more than we paid for the stove in the first place. I have tried every Sears # I can find and no one is willing to help me - they just say what do u want me to do. I want my stove fixed the right way and so it lasts.

On Oct 30, 2014, the oven would not heat & a technician replaced the upper oven bake ignitor. Whew!...we thought. Lucky for us we had the extended warranty. But wait...on Feb. 9, 2015, with the extended warranty expired by about 2 1/2 months, the oven was turned on for use. While waiting for it to pre-heat, the oven started beeping wildly, then a terrible electrical burning smell flooded the house. My husband raced to the kitchen to see flames shooting out of the vents in the back. He managed to get the fire out and the gas turned off. The entire backside of wires was charred. We took photos & went to Sears where the Manager told us there was nothing he could do. He said it was up to the Service (1-800-4-MY HOME). We were incredulous that Sears does not have its own managers making these types of customer service decisions, but rather that the repair service to which they contact has that authority! I reminded him this was not a user error in that we did not set off a grease fire, but that the stove CAUGHT ON FIRE! We suggested that we thought Sears should take that very seriously, as a house fire could have resulted. He went on to repeat that Service would charge us to come out to verify & assess the damage & likely offer us no satisfaction. We previously bought appliances from Sears, but no longer. All our friends are incredulous that Sears is not replacing this stove.

The serviceman immediately called Sears from my home on his cell phone and I was offered 20% off a new oven if I purchased from Sears.I told the corporate person I would not accept that offer of 20% and that my oven is only three years old. It should last at least 15 years and would be talking to his supervisor on the next business day. I also told him I was going to seek legal advice, expose Sears through our local news station in the SF Bay Area if this issue was not resolved. Im shocked that this has taken so many phone calls and a service call and I still was offered 20% off a new oven and not a replacement oven. I have purchased numerous appliances through Sears and never received a run around such as this. This is a Health and Safety issue. I see other complaints such as mine online regarding wall ovens purchased through Sears. We should all seek legal help and expose Sears on the way they are handling their health and safety issues.

The red flag should have been noted when it was delivered, and the glass control panel fell off; this was before it was even brought into my kitchen. I asked them to return it, and we got a new one a week later. Three months in, the same thing happened again; the glass control panel fell off. I called Sears, and they sent a technician to fix it with a new control panel. The technician mentioned to me that the only thing holding the control panel is glue. When the oven is in use, every time I use my oven, the glue is melting away. Theres no frame to support it, when the glue melts off. How is this even safe? Last week, the same problem happened again, the glass control panel fell off. I called Sears again.Today, a technician from Sears came in to check it out and will be fixing it again with a new control panel. So until he comes back, and fixes it, I have to use tape to hold up the control panel in order to use the oven. Luckily, its still under the extended warranty, but I cant keep calling Sears to replace the control panel every time the glue melts. Instead of sending a technician to fix the same problem, Sears should replace this appliance because this problem will happen again, and they know it. This oven is not good, and I would never recommend it. Sears should do its part and make sure they are selling their customers good appliances that they can rely on. I am very disappointed with my appliance from Sears, and I wish Sears would make good appliances with top-of-the-line materials and parts. Sears needs to do a quality check assurance on their appliances before they go on the market. We as customers cannot afford to expend so much money on products that either dont last, or have problem with their parts.

Its usually in the triple digits and our old fridge couldnt keep up with the demand for icy cool drinks. I like the size because it holds a lot but it would be better with more space in the back. A bit too wide, had to remove counter space. I like the metal look but would prefer more color options. All of my kitchen appliances have been purchased to color coordinate. I would like to be able to coordinate with the fridge and stove as well. If the fridge lasts at least 7 years, Im very happy. I may upgrade before that depending on whether or not you can offer color options.

This time technician said that the stove was unserviceable and I received a brand new stove in February 2015. After a while same thing happened! For some reason the panel reset itself this time when I held the bake button. I tried many things because I didnt want to go through all the phone calls, service calls etc. again. I promptly wrote this down in case I needed to reset it and sure enough it did go blank but my little trick didnt work. So here we are again. I wrote an e-mail of complaint to the manufacturer so that I could have a reasonable solution to this problem. Sending out technicians and replacing the same part on two different stoves without trying to figure out whats causing the problem is daft in my opinion! The manufacturer did not get back to me within the 2 business days promised. Im beyond frustrated because all theyre willing to do is send out another technician. Again. Never will I purchase a Sears Kenmore (Electrolux) product! I am thankful that its not a dangerous problem like so many other consumers have had on this site. Yet.

We had the control panel replaced for $300, and it got us through Thanksgiving. The oven originally cost $600 so to replace the control panel was very expensive. Right after Thanksgiving, it began to work inconsistently again. Our most recent incident was where the oven stayed on and increased the heat even though we turned it off and the control panel said that the oven was off. The gas was still on and clearly, the oven was increasing in temperature. We then got the error message E2-F3 which is the warning that it was too hot. We could not get it to turn off so we called the gas company to come right away. The gas man that showed up said that if we had cut the power to the house, the gas would have remained on unless we turned the gas valve off as well. This stove is too dangerous to keep. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Like little programmed robots they repeated over and over it is out of warranty and they will send a technician out to assess what needs to be fixed at which time I can pay them for the repairs plus labor or pay for the service call. I decided to go online and order the parts myself. During the course of conversation with the repair specialist I find out: 1) This is a known issue. 2) The stove was manufactured by Frigidaire. 3) Its an issue with insulation in the door frame (part #7 on the diagram of the door). 4) The manufacturer recommends you replace it every 18 months. To which I responded, and how are we supposed to know that? Technician responded I am the parts specialist and we have the resources from the manufacturer. Its extremely sad that something as dangerous as this can continue and nobody is doing anything about the defective product.

I have contacted the Sears store where I purchased a washer & dryer in August 2012. The design of this machine is unbelievable and I am far from satisfied. This machine requires that one put the clothes and detergent and/or bleach in with the clothes. The machine immediately locks and fills with about a quart of water. Meanwhile, the clothes are setting in strong soapy water or bleach for over a minute. Subsequently, it results in spotted and ruined clothing, towels, sheets, etc. In addition, you can only wash clothes in the delicate cycle, to prevent ripping and shredding of laundry. Once the cycle is finished, one must go to the rinse/spin cycle in order to add Downy. This wastes water.Finally, I was directed to Repair Service where the Rep told me that the cost of a one year warranty was $80.00. She said that I only had to pay her $49.99 at that time and to give a check to the repairman for the additional $30.01 on the day of service. I thought it odd that she would not allow me to pay the entire $80.00 while on the phone but went along with it anyway. I was in TOTAL SHOCK when the repairman told me that I had to write him a check for $80.00. I explained to him what the Warranty Rep had told me and he said that the Warranty was $49.99 per month with an $80.00 deductible each visit. Who in his or her right mind would pay $599.88 for a contract on a washing machine? One could purchase a top of the line washer for this amount.SEARS IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AS A RESULT OF POOR SALES (I WONDER WHY). Do not make any purchase from Sears because the motto on the doors of each store say, Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back is not worth the ink that it was stamped on with! Sears has promised to refund me $49.99+$80.00+$30.00 gift card. This paltry sum does not even begin to reimburse me for all of the discolors clothes, towels, blankets and all of the discolored clothes that have been ruined by this machine! My attorney (Consumer Affairs attorney) is filing a lawsuit in federal court. If anyone else wants to join in on this lawsuit, you may e-mail me! Do not waste your time trying to deal with corporate because they will do nothing to help you. I am 71 years old and was not told of the bad features on this machine.

Following the directions but still burning items (I have since found out that it shouldve performed much better than that but I had no reference point) and it cant cook more than one item at a time without slowing down the cooking process or burning items. The last straw was two weeks ago, 12/10/16. It made a very loud POP while trying to bake a pizza. It totally stopped baking. For the last two weeks I have gotten the worst customer service through Sears that I have ever experienced. The local store hasnt been able to help (in fact when I tried to call their listed number, they never answered and then the phone call just cut off after 3 minutes of listening to it ring). I had to go into the store to tell the manager that their phone hadnt worked for 3 days as I had tried to reach them, then the 800 Sears Service number that is listed to call has been just terrible. Those at the 800 number must be trained to never help the customer or admit that their product hasnt delivered as it should have AND they arent allowed to give out any information on someone higher than their level to complain to... Absolutely no accountability. The main numbers of 1-800-469-4663 and 1-847-286-2500 have given me NO satisfaction. They have transferred me to Sears Holdings, Sears Solutions, Sears Rewards and NO ONE has been able to help me. All say it is on me, I didnt buy a warranty but that they can come out for $89 to assess it! Are you kidding me? My Stove/oven isnt made to last even 2 years? My phone call issues range from completely dropping my calls, putting me on hold for 25 minutes and never returning to speak to me so I had to hang up and call back and start all over, saying there is no recall or defect on this item so its costs are on me. I have been trying to give Sears some time to take some responsibility for their defective product...I finally had another local repair man come out and they determined it is the Control Panel... Cost is estimated at $250 (thats just for the item), then add the labor. I called Sears with this information. They have no solution other than to tell me to pay their tech to come out and assess it. I will NOT do that. I will not buy a Sears product ever again and I will do my best to let everyone I know to never buy from there again. Other than the store manager who did a good job hearing me but had no authority to help me, I have experienced ZERO customer service. I spoke to the store manager yesterday and there was a sign of a very little movement after I pressed more that my appliance shouldnt break in under 2 years and that anyone must have a warranty for something under 2 years. She was going to contact the Service Factory Manager directly for me. I have doubts that anything will result and plan to buy with a local company. The individuals on the phone are not accountable to anyone... They dont seem to care if you have a lemon or if you will not do business with their company anymore. I was told if I had an issue and wanted to speak to a manager, that I could call back and hopefully I could get through to the Arizona call center versus the Texas one. Are you kidding me? No accountability, No customer service, No standing behind their products and making it right with customers. Terrible. I/we have many more years of buying power and it wont be with Sears. I really hope my review will prevent someone else putting their money and faith into any Sears products.

This was a brand new unit in my brand new house. From day one I had problems with both the oven and microwave. First-after using the microwave for a couple weeks, I noticed the handle had become loose. No problem I thought, Ill just tighten the screws-nope. The screws are not accessible. They are hidden under the plastic frame and are not able to get to. I called Sears authorized service, they came out, and because of the poor design flaw, they had to replace the entire door=$500.00, which was covered. Now the oven, it never has heated properly and when I went to use it, it made a loud humming noise, then when I went to use the broiler, the cooling fan you could hear, was scraping against the sides of something inside. Once again, Sears service was called, came out, had to order a new fan/motor. To access the fan/motor, they had to pull the unit from the wall, and in doing so, tore my wall up a little bit.When they sat it on the floor to work on it, they didnt put anything under it and there were major dents in my new luxury vinyl flooring. They got it repaired, re-installed it and it worked fine until yesterday. The microwave door handle is loose again also. I called Sears service yesterday and explained to them its doing the exact same thing it was when they were here before. The representative informed me it would be a service charge of something like $250.00/hr. I couldnt believe it-I told him its doing the same thing it did before. Their response- their repairs only have a 90 day warranty. I told him I wasnt paying for what obviously is a poorly designed appliance. I informed him I would contact my attorney. Bottom line- every mechanical and electrical device will have its issues over time, to me, its about how the manufacturer stands behind their product. Will not buy a Sears product again.

Kenmore Elite dual oven Electric Range Model 790. Purchased this stove in late 2009. Within months, the touch sensors on the back panel would work only intermittently. Called Sears to have repairs made to my new stove and they walked us through pressing lots of buttons on the display board to reset it. Problem persisted, but didnt have the time/energy to look into it further. Months later, the top oven stopped working correctly. Not sure what happened, but anything we cooked was raw on top and burned to a crisp on the bottom. A few more calls later to their service department where, once again, they walked us through the process of turning the top oven on to as hot as it would go. Recording the temperature using a thermometer we had to place in the oven, turn the oven down, wait for it to cool down, record the temp, etc., etc.Again, we gave up and decided my time is more valuable than a working top oven and had already spent HOURS on the phone being shuffled around from department to department (Warranty Dept, Customer Service, Customer Solutions, Home Warranty, back to customer Service where I was transferred incorrectly back to Home Warranty...). So, we lived with an intermittently working board and now a clearly improperly heating top oven. BUT - we didnt buy the extended warranty so we were now out of luck since a year has since passed.Fast forward three blissful (not) years with this piece of crap oven and we start to notice that the racks in the bottom oven seem to be very loose. Hmmmm. Take all racks out, rearrange them thinking that perhaps they have designated slots in which each rack fits, but they all seem to have the same problem. On the phone to Customer Service we go... And again we are transferred all over the organization until finally we land upon a person that might be able to help me. IF we are willing to pay $280 for a service contract upon which they will send a tech out to make repairs up to $500. If I dont want to go that route, I could always sign up for a Home Warranty ($55/month for 1yr contract or $35/month for 1yr contract for appliances) OR a Service Smart Agreement - again for repairs UP TO $500. After that, I pay for it... Oh yeah, I had to pay either a $90 or $60 service call each time a tech came out.At this point, my life is getting shorter and shorter and I decide I cant spent any more time being dragged around by the nose by Sears any longer and wave the white flag - until one day, I leaned down (to the floor, because this is where the bottom oven is) to lift a roast out of the oven and the racks suddenly collapse spraying bubbling, scalding juice all over the front of my arms, chest and legs. The oven walls seem to be expanding every time we turn this thing ON! Im now down to ONE rack in the bottom oven, a non-functional top oven (unless you like your cookies and biscuits raw on the top and charred on the bottom) and an intermittently working sensor - that, by the way, I rely on to use the top burners. If I could give this stove - and Sears Customer Service (Im looking at you, Cheryl) negative stars, I would.I tried today to give it one more go at getting this thing serviced by Sears since the aluminum foil that Ive had to wrap around the sides of the racks in the oven (so that they will take up some space and not collapse on me under the weight of a casserole dish) is going to need to be beefed up soon, but it was once again fruitless. I spent HOURS on the phone going through the merry-go-round of transfers from one department to another and in the end, spoke with NINE different people in different departments until I ended with the above esteemed Cheryl in Customer Solutions who listened patiently to my story (which, by this time I had been a little sick and tired of reiterating) and went on to tell me that since I hadnt purchased an extended warranty through them that I was out of luck.Really? Even though my first call to complain about this happened within months of owning it - when it was under the one year warranty? Again, she called to my attention that I never even had a service person out to my house. Yeah, no kidding Cheryl, because they had ME to do the work for them - which I did, by spending hours over the phone pressing this button, relaying the info to the tech on the phone, pressing that button, relaying the info. etc, etc. Sears did a really good job of stringing me along long enough that I was out of warranty and they could wash their hands of the whole thing.For generations, my family has been die-hard Sears appliance customers and have always had excellent products and service. That is a thing of the past. Get you in, sell you the appliance, and get you to spend even MORE money on a warranty. God knows one shouldnt expect a $2000 stove to last longer than a year... Ill be buying my appliances locally from here on out.

I tried to contact customer service and was transferred 6 times, then hung up on! The Kenmore Elite Range of 5 years almost burned my home down this morning. When I called to ask for assistance to determine if the range was safe to be in my home, they wanted to charge me $25 to just talk to someone! Then, they wanted to charge me $89.99 to send some to my home! Yes, I am furious that this company just wanted to collect money and would not help. My home has smoke damage, which I now have to clean due to the malfunction. I will never purchase a Kenmore product again!

3 years ago, I bought what I thought would be my last stove. Brand new Kenmore, with a warming, drawer and burner. Self cleaning. 1300.00 dollar thought it was the best. Im 60 years of age. I figured I would buy one last stove before I retired. Hey, its a Kenmore, right? It would be here long after Im feeding the bugs, right?WRONG! In less than three years the oven wont heat up passed 200 degrees. The circuit board costs over 200$. I didnt buy the Sears extended warranty. Its a Kenmore! The independent service man that came out said, he would not recommend this repair, because, this problem would keep occurring. He said, he would not feel like he had done me right, if he had repaired my stove. He charged me nothing, apologized, and left. I stuffed a hundred dollar bill in his shirt pocket, and thanked him. I called Sears. They said, I should have bought the service policy. I wont buy anything from Sears again. I replaced it with a 200$ Plain Jane stove from Lowes, no electronic, no bells, no whistles. It works just fine!

Please dont buy Kenmore, or from Sears. My stove caught on fire last night (11/21/14). Sears wont replace it they want me to pay for the repair....NOT, so here is what happened: We cut the oven to warm up then walked away. We heard a popping then a smell of wires burning. If we had not been in the kitchen this would be a different story. I call Sears, oh they want me to pay to have them come look at it, I dont think so! The earliest they can come to look at it is DECEMBER 2nd, Wait that is a week and a half! They told me that I cant get it replaced without me paying for it even if it is faulty wires. I AM SO MAD right now! If you have a Kenmore range in your house unplug it NOW, wishing I had never bought this thing!

Yesterday while baking, the inner glass door of my 3-year-old Kenmore oven exploded, sending hot glass shards onto my kitchen floor and into the oven. Has anyone begun a class action lawsuit regarding this product? I have read numerous online reports that Sears does not back this product by repairing or replacing the oven door or damage to the owner. I attempted reporting to Sears customer service and was guided to how to dispose of the oven.
