I bought this washer and dryer set less than a year ago from Sears, first mistake. The dryer works okay however the washer is a piece of junk. The water doesnt fill higher than the clothes. My clothes never come out clean, its very inefficient because we have to re-wash the clothes so I end up using more water and detergent. I wish I could attach pictures.

I purchased this washing machine and it needed servicing within the first few months. So did the matching dryer. The washing machine is a top load model which I thought would be like the old models and clean the clothes better. I was very wrong. It doesnt even agitate the clothes, they just sit in the wash bin and dont even move. There is nothing in the centre of the drum to move the clothes during the wash cycle. The drum moves slightly during the wash cycel but there isnt enough movement to move the clothing. The bin doesnt fill up with enough water to properly clean the clothes and as a result, the clothes dont get rinsed properly either. A normal load takes over 100 minutes to go through the cycle. Shame on you Samsung for selling such a poor quality product. Did I mention that this is the washing machine that was exploding during the spin cycle? We contacted Samsung numerous times over a two year period to get a service person to come out but they did nothing.

We were looking to upgrade and I needed a washer dryer that could stack. We chose this washer dryer because we like the Kenmore brand. My husband and I looked at several brands and we thought this was the best option for our needs. Its a stackable front loader and its also a high efficiency and I thought it would be better than my old washer. But it doesnt seem to clean smaller loads as well as Id like and we often rewash it. Also, the front loader gets build up in the rubber around the front and cause a smell. Its difficult to clean that area too.

This is an easy to use dryer. It is easy to figure out the controls and it runs very smoothly. I would recommend this dryer to someone who is looking to buy one. The dryer fits quite a bit of laundry. It definitely fits more than the previous dryer I owned. I can easily dry all my clothes in two dry cycles, sometimes one. The appearance of this dryer is very nice. It is not too bulky and it fits in well with the washer I own. I think this dryer is a great value for the money. For the price I paid, I am very happy with it.

I have 2 boys that are very messy and are rough on clothes so for them to hold out and work as good as they did was a blessing for a single mom who cant just go buy new things. When it came time to do laundry I was ready cause I knew I wouldnt have to do anything over again and again. No putting it back in for another ten mins and was always done right. I would buy them over and over again, I would make sure my family got them cause they work like a cleaning beast.

I put dryers as well as washers through a lot of use. Typically doing a few loads of laundry per day. I was always able to rely on the dryer working without fail. While this has not been the prettiest appliance Ive ever owned it did the job. Besides appearance is one of the lesser requirements when Im searching for appliances. I felt this dryer was of exceptional quality for the price. I had a front load Maytag before purchasing the Kenmore. I have to say the Kenmore lasted much longer and did equally if not a better job.
I bought a Kenmore Elite Oasis HE automatic washer model number 110.2706760
I bought a Kenmore Elite Oasis HE automatic washer model number 110.27067601 serial number CT0570011 in late 2008 (along with the dryer). I also bought a one year extended warranty for it. Shortly after, the machine had the F1 error code and could not function. I called, a technician came out and replaced the control board. A couple years later, I had the same problem. The machine gets the F1 code while filling. I had to press the stop and start button at least four times to get the machine running again. Then 20 minutes before the cycle is over, it has another F1 error code. This time I have to press stop and start four more times. Being a busy physician I did not contact Sears and just tolerated the inconvenience for several years.I called and schedule a service call on March 20th, 2015. The technician, ** came to my house on March 25, 2015 along with another technician **. They did some diagnostic with their computer and told me I need a new control board. I asked ** what is the warranty for this new control board. He told me its only 90 days. I told him it is a bad product. He proceeded to argue with me he had nothing to do with it. Its the manufacturer of the board. I told him when I bought a machine I dont know whats inside. Anyway, an argument ensued. ** walked out and refused to service my machine. I was told the control board itself costs $180, with labor the total cost would have been $280. The board clearly is defective and theres no solution other than frequent costly replacement.If you take into consideration the cost of $300 with 90 days warranty. Essentially if the breaks down every 90 days, I would be wasting $300 every 90 days. The cost of owning this machine is prohibitive. In summary this machine is a lemon and its criminal for your company to put your name on it as your store brand and sell it for a high price. I would like to request one of the following solutions: 1) Refund for the cost of the machine, $800. 2) If refund is not possible, I request you provide to me another washing machine of my choice of similar value free of charge. 3) If both solutions 1 or 2 are not possible, I request for the next 15 years, that you provide free service and parts every time I get the F1 code. I feel extremely angry and deceived. As you can tell many other customers feel the same way as I have found on the internet. I am livid and would take the issue up with appropriate overseeing agencies to warn others of your callous practice of selling expensive appliances that dont work.

We purchased our Kenmore Elite HE5 Steam dryer 5 years ago. We have been satisfied with the performance. Recently the dryer malfunctioned. It would turn on, but would not begin the drying cycle. Online it was recommended to replace the thermal fuse for under $20. I replaced the fuse and the dryer still didnt work. I scheduled a Sears repair technician to repair the dryer. He determined that the door switch malfunctioned. He said he normally carried on, but was out. After checking he determined that the part was on back order for the next 2-3 months. I called local suppliers and they stated this is problem with the model and there were 15 in front of me waiting for the part. I contacted Sears and they were of no help. Their solution was to wait for the back ordered part or buy a new dryer. Sears was of no help. If anyone has a source for the door switch it would be greatly appreciated.

I have had this machine for 3 years now and hate it every time I do laundry. The only function I can use is the timed dry. When I use the other functions, the machine doesnt dry the clothes or takes all day to dry one load. I called a technician to come and look over my dryer. This technician told me that the dry clothes are coming in contact with the sensor inside the machine next to the lint holder and left. I started putting smaller loads in the dryer and did not help. So I tried the timed dry to see if this would work and it does. But why spend money on a machine if you can only use one function? Useless is what I tell ya.

I gave my son a washer from my parents that were bought in the 60s. Its still working like a charm. Kenmore products are very durable. I hope Kenmore never goes out of business. I truly rely on this brand for years. I have the gas top loader. Very easy for me to do wash. No bending with having arthritis. Clothes come out clean & stay new looking for years. It is worth every dollar I spend on my Kenmore washer & dryers. The lasting outweighs the reasonable prices. I will never buy any other brand. Im very set on my Kenmore products.

I think this dryer is very efficient. It is usually really good at drying things but it doesnt always handle big loads well. Otherwise I am very satisfied with it. I think this dryer is awesome. It works super well 99.9% of the time. The dryer is pretty plain but overall it is nice. I think maybe this model could be offered in a few different colors. There is other models that offer different colors so maybe have the same option for this one. I really enjoy this dryer. It wasnt too expensive. It also has held its value very well.

It has never given me any problems. It has simple instructions on how to use it and it will be a reliable washer if you follow those instructions. It is just a regular washer nothing fancy. But it gets your clothes clean and it does it in a timely manner. I like a plain look to a washer and dryer anyway. I dont care too much for super fancy. I got this at such a good price. I couldnt pass it up. I bought it as a set and together they make the best washer/dryer investment Ive ever made. I would totally recommend the washer and dryer.

Both the washer and the dryer worked well for over fifteen years. When I married my second husband, he had newer appliances, so we decided to keep his and sell our Kenmore appliances. The next time we need to buy a washer and a dryer, Kenmore will be in our top ten list of manufacturers. Well probably consider Kenmore, Maytag, and Samsung.

It was a white washer and dryer. The controls were all very easy to interpret and the workings of it were easy. Other than that it was decent. We never needed any maintenance on our washer and dryer. As long as we kept the lint screen clean it worked just fine. Also, not as much bubbling because of soap like some of the earlier top loaders and the clothes came out great. The washer and dryer did very well for us for the price we paid for it and lasted us years! They were both a good value and Id recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal.

We have never had any issues with our Kenmore refrigerator or our washer and dryer. Their products are very reliable. Technical support is always available and the products last a very long time. It fits everything that we need it to and space is never an issue. I have 3 kids so were always stocked up on food which is fresh and frozen. It looks very modern. Their products are always of a modern look and style. They definitely keep up with the times. The value is always more than worth it. The products hold up over time and I would match them up against any other on the market from fancy to run of the mill.

It did clean the clothes but not in a above average kind of way. It lasted me for few years, except the washer had a problem in the second year of purchasing it. Good thing I had a warranty so the washer was replaced but the hassle of customer service people it was a nightmare but eventually I got a washer. Personally I like newer digital models, and the washers with doors opening from the side but those were too expensive but for my budget and my choice within my budget I was ok with the appearance of the washer and dryer. I wasnt happy with price tag for both washer and dryer, but I needed a washer and a dryer for the house. The price was steep when I purchased it but it seemed really steep when the washer broke down after two years of purchasing it.

Kenmore allowed them to grow as self reliant people. Love it and easy to use. Children can use. WAS EASY TO transfer clothes from washer to dryer - I would still have - however one of the kids I babysat for sat on lid and broke it. Washer and dryer basic white controls on top with ease of use. Kept clean with a wipe. Good value - great warranty. Shouldnt need however you always do. Kenmore is a brand you can trust. When I was younger Kenmore was a brand that was passed down the family. Things were made good.

I love this machine. This dryer is flexible to help me do everything I need it to do. The wrinkle guard feature is as good as an extra set of hands. There is nothing better than knowing that your garments are in the best of places to get dry. No matter what setting I use to get a variety of fabrics dry under the best of circumstances it drys my heavy jeans and towels to perfection. I can also rely on the machine to gently dry fine washables on gentle air, no heat cycles. My Kenmore appliance has brought us years of good service. And this machine has been with our family for a long time and it still looks like a modern dryer. I have no complaint about the wear and tear. It looks great and hides its age quite well. And I still find it to be quite energy efficient.

Parts are readily available and being handy I did all the work. People seem to discard large appliances without even seeing if they can be repaired.

The washer and dryer were very reliable I never had a problem turning it on and it working just the way it was supposed to. Nice. The energy saving feature was good and saving energy. Theyre very colorful. The dials are easy to read and easy to adjust. The doors are wide enough to put in the larger loads and comforters. Theyre very aerodynamic. Can fit in a confined area without it being crowded. They performed up to their standards making laundry very easy and enjoy to do.

Im very satisfied about the value of this Kenmore appliance. It is cost efficient. You get what you pay for and this exceeds each dollar spent. I dont think I could have asked for a better washer and dryer. The appliance was quiet and efficient. Its a great improvement over the last dryer I owned. I also have not had an issue with it so far. It is the very definition of reliability. I purchased it over six months ago and it is just as effective as day one. As far as dryers go, this one isnt too bad on the eyes. Its clean and modern looking.

Kenmore is a maker of laundry machines that lasts and requires low maintenance. Thoroughly cleans and dry clothes and enjoys a good rep, and is one of the first names when thinking of washer and dryers. Also I went to laundry mat and all machines washer and dryer were Kenmore. Its the best for clean clothes, good cycles, wash, rinse and dry. I take for granted that I will get the best clean always and something that I like. It dissolve detergents fully and dont leave any deposit of laundry detergents. I have an washer that is loaded on top. Its white and takes very little to keep it clean. Very little to clean the insides of the washer and leave a good looking machine outside and inside. Kenmore is a leader in laundry machines. There is an automatic value when a Kenmore product is bought. These are well built machines and they have a good endurance rep.

I purchased the Kenmore Elite Washing Machine and compatible Dryer, in Sep of 2012. As of this date, Sep 9, 2015, I have been utterly disappointed with its performance as a washing machine, as it does not wash clothes, it get them wet, wrinkles them up, and spins them out. Clothes do not come clean. But, the great news is, today it completely EXPLODED! I mean that it blew up, the top, the whole top, not just the lid and the control panel, but the entire top blew off, the machine blew apart, blowing a holes in the drywall, denting the adjoining dryer, as you will see in my photos. Sears and Kenmore will do nothing about it, stating it is out of warranty. Well... I will not ever set foot in Sears again, and I will never buy another Kenmore product again. See attached photos for the damage. And if I can get it in black color would match better the house decoration. It was not expensive and had save me a lot of money in the last year, thats why I am considering get the watching machine as well, hopefully works as well as the dryer.

I bought a Kenmore Elite in 2011. Within 3 months, a board went bad and it kept saying SUD - no biggie; it was under warranty. Now, its 2 years and 2 months old. I called Sears for another problem. The drum has gone bad and needs replacing; the drum and other parts are warrantied but the $665 in labor is not. Really??? Do you think they would think about giving you a labor price that is higher than most new washers in their store? Do they expect people to logically agree to these labor prices instead of buying a new washer? This front loading washer with all the bells and whistles was on sale and did not even cost that much to buy!!! I have never had an issue with a washer or dryer. Growing up, we had one for 15 years with no problems. Luckily, I found out my home warranty will pick up the costs but this is a per occurrence thing so if it breaks again, I have no backup to pay for it. What a piece of junk - 2 years old and all these problems. If I have any more problems, I am going out to buy a new non-Sears product washer since it will be cheaper than fixing this junker which will probably have another problem in the next two years. Do not buy Kenmore!!!!! You are wasting your money and it will waste your time constantly having to get it repaired. Im SO Sorry that Sears has gone so downhill and that their service is horrible.

Its very reliable and cleans and dries every time. It cleans every type of dirt and stains on clothes. The Kenmore washer and dryer is white in color. It is not too big or not too small. It is just the right size to wash and dry your clothes. The Kenmore white washer and dryer is very affordable. Its value is very good for the price of it. It gets the job done each and every time. The tub is supposed to fill by sensing your load size, but it never gets full enough, you cant do a full load at one time, the clothes are still dirty, there are dry spots that havent even seen the water. You have to put your detergent in the bottom because if you throw it on top, guess what? Its still there in all its soggy streaky glory when the washer stops, along with all the lint, hair and whatever was on your clothes when you tossed them into the washer. All of my washers and dryers are front load and have multiple selections on each one like the washer, hand washable, delicate, normal, casual, heavy duty, sanitary. The dryer has multiple selections also as delicate, casual, normal, bulky items, heavy duty and you can breeze the level of heat on the dryer. These have both lasted me 5 years and still going, so the quality and the reliability are very excellent. I have not had any problems with any overloading on water or breaking down on the dryer. Neither one has had any problems at all.The way both of them look they are both front-loaders and it helps with easy access of the clothes and it doesnt make noise like the top loaders when they end up going out. Theyre white, got a clear window that you can look through to see if its being overloaded or if its done or whatever. These washers have been very helpful. The price cost was not much at all. It did cost a little but it was not enough to make it to where I would not want to buy it.

Here are the events regarding my Kenmore Model 74012: 4/25/19 The refrigerator went to room temperature. Called Sears Warranty on 4/26/29. I lost over $600 in food and got reimbursed for $300 in food through Sears Master Protection Warranty. Getting food reimbursement was the easy part. Technician came 5 days later. Part came 3 days after Technician ordered it. 18 days from reporting the problem, I have a repairman replacing my compressor.5/14/19 Technician replaced the Compressor. The refrigerator & freezer never got cold (not even a little). Another tech was sent out and parts were ordered... 20 days later... 5/24/19 Technician replaced the Condenser and Filter Dryer. The fridge & freezer worked for 2 days. I lost food ($160) & got reimbursed for all of it. On 5/26, I was calling but it was before Memorial Day. I had to wait until 5/28 to call in the repair. Really bad timing. 6/7/19 Technician replaced the evaporator, refrigerator cabinet and filter dryer. Labor was over $900 and the warranty covered parts & labor. This was the cost of another refrigerator. Refrigerator will not get colder than 50 degrees.I was really upset. A family of 6 did not have a refrigerator for over 42 days. And we still do not have one. Sears agreed to buy me a new fridge. I am now shopping for a new one. Had I not had the extended warranty I would have had thousands of dollars into repairing this refrigerator and still had a broken refrigerator. So the warranty was worth it. Since I know that the inside of my refrigerator is LG, I will not buy LG or Kenmore as I look for another refrigerator. They lost my business. I got a Kenmore back in 1998 that lasted for 10 years. It was replaced by another Kenmore that lasted for 6 years. Followed by this one that lasted for 2.5 years. I see a trend.I have been without a full sized refrigerator for over 6 weeks. Sears is extremely slow to book a diagnostic and repair appointment. Repairmen missed their 4 hour window 2 out of 3 times. On the last appointment repairman showed up at 3:00 when the window was 10-2:00. I had to take time off from work multiple times losing precious vacation time. AND I STILL HAVE A NON-FUNCTIONING REFRIGERATOR! Regarding the refrigerator, it worked very well for 2.5 years. I liked the slide away shelves and big open bins in the doors. I will look for these features in my next one. I didnt like the 1 Full-Width, Adjustable Temperature Drawer because it would often stick and not push in well. I always had a fear that it was going to break. As I shopped around tonight for another refrigerator, it seems that this drawer still has its issues. It is cheaply made and does not slide open/close very well.The spill proof shelves leak. You spill something, expect to not get it cleaned very well unless you take all the shelving out. I found spills in places I did not know existed. The last repairman had to take all the shelving out to replace the refrigerator cabinet or evaporator. This exposed our spills. He did not seat the shelving and drawers back properly. None of the drawers shut very well and the drawers are crooked. Since my refrigerator is empty at the moment, I can honestly say that if I had food in there, the drawers would not open. It is running for the past week at 50 degrees. It wont get colder. So I am keeping some of my fruit and water in there. Since the shelving is not seated properly, the shelving is rubbing from the normal vibrations of the refrigerator making noise.The french doors have their issue too on this model. The repairman came out within a week after we purchased the refrigerator to adjust the doors and mentioned that it is best to close the left door then the right. Open the right and then the left. You can see how it closes & overlaps and looks like something that could break. Poor design. In my opinion and experience, I would say that Kenmores quality has dropped. Repair work has dropped in quality too. Sears warranty, although expensive, is worth the money.My final take on refrigerators is that Congress should be looking into the quality of appliances and how the consumer is being ripped off. As I read reviews of all Makes and Models it seems that Makers of refrigerators are making them disposable within a few years like our cell phones (comparison made since cell phones can cost just as much as some of the lower capacity refrigerators).

Only complaint is how dirty the front load washer gets in the rim by the door. And also that the pedestal are not included in the price as a cheaper option. 249.00 a piece is way too much. But to get the height which is what I needed and why I wanted front load so we dont have to bend over cause as you age that gets impossible.

Very efficient and it saves money on my electric bill, but sometimes the drying sensor will stop the dryer before everything is completely dry. My dryer can hold a large load of towels with ease, which is very convenient so I can do fewer loads of laundry each week. Plus all the options on the dryer make drying anything easy. While most people hide their laundry room because of the clunky-looking machine that look decades out of date, my laundry room looks clean and up to date. While many would say the newer front loaders are too expensive, l find in the long run that its worth every penny because of how much I am able to save of water and electricity.

After 35 years of faithful performance by my Maytag washing machine, without one single service call, it finally bit the dust this last May 2015. As I have had generally good luck in the past with my Kenmore products both in my home and several rentals we have, I dutifully did my research on a new Kenmore washer (I dont even remember if it was an HE or not as this is a new term for this 76 year old woman). Upon telling the salesperson which machine I wanted she immediately told me that no, I didnt want to buy that particular item because there were a lot of complaints about it and she steered me to this other machine (in retrospect I believe this was a good old bait and switch) which miraculously could wash up to 27 large towels in its cavernous belly. No mention was made about where you would dry these 27 towels of course.Anyway, I was impressed and thats what I bought. Although after only five months I have not experienced any of the horror stories as told by others, I am extremely disappointed in the performance of this machine, from the tangled clothes, poor cleaning results (which could be because of the extremely low water level) and the lint that clings to the wet clothes even though Ive programmed for 2 rinses, and which is not necessarily removed in the dryer. I do not like this washer in the least bit and after reading the complaints written by hundreds of others, I only wish I had read them all earlier. But knowing what might be lying in wait for me, I can say that Im happy I buckled under the pressure and bought the extended warranty that the salesperson almost pleaded with me to buy. She must have known I would need it sooner than later.

This was a mistake. As a retired couple the machines have had once a week use. Last week the washer started to smoke after the spin cycle and make loud off balance drum noises. The repair outfit just told me that the washer will cost over 750$ to repair and was made in Korea by another manufacturer for Sears/Kenmore. To get six years out of an expensive high end washer is consumer abuse. More fool me... Sears Canada has closed, the extended warranty no longer honored. It seems we bought a Lada disguised as a Ferrari. Advice: Stay away from Kenmore products! (Irony is my 95 year old mother has a top load Kenmore that has been chugging along reliably for 25+ years). You can use the dryer for dry cleaning with Dryel, which is a method of dry cleaning at least four articles of clothing in each load. You just put your clothes that need drying clothing into the washer with dryel, which also has a pre-treatment for stains and other problems with your clothes. This can save you a bundle of money. Whether you are doing regular washing and drying with household items such as towels, sheets, or other things, the final results or appearance of the items you are cleaning is very satisfying. Because of the outcome, you will never have to use a professional dry cleaners which can save you a bundle of money, with the same outcome, great looking items.

My parents house is still occupied by a number of older Kenmore appliances, some have to be pushing 25 years. So when the builder grade appliances started dying in my house after 13+ years, I naturally choose Kenmore as a replacement and dropped over $1,600 for a new washer and dryer. Sears showed up on time, installed the washer and dryer, neat and clean and were gone. All they left was the boxes the washer and dryer came in and the neighborhood kids loved playing in them just as I did when I was young. That was four (4) years ago. Sears no longer stands behind you (or for that matter beside you) after your one year warranty expires.We developed gunk in our washing machine despite the monthly cleanouts (BTW anyone ever remember having to clean a washing machine except if a crayon went through it?). It just showed up in a load one day and will not go away. I started looking to find the cause and came across rust around the bleach dispenser. Apparently the quality today is not as it once was. My parents have an older Kenmore that presents no rust at all. I do not know how old it is, but I can tell you it came in avocado green (late 70s maybe?). I hope the pictures I attached show the gunk (picture taken after 5 cleaning cycles), rust in the area of the dispenser (with dispenser removed), some debris that ended up in the lint filter of the dryer, and black specks that seem to have become stuck on the dryer.If you look closely at the specks you can see bare metal, this is what happened to the finish as I tried to remove the black specs with my fingernail - THE FINISH CAME OFF! Mind you, these units are only 4 years old even though they have enormous capacity, they only service two adults and one child. So I called Sears Home Services to see what would be involved with replacing the washer top panel. I gave them the model and serial number per their request and was informed that the only way Sears Home Services could determine how much it would be to replace the part would be for me to spend $79 for them to come out and take a look. I informed them that outside the rusted part, the unit seemed to be operating fine, dirty, but fine. Again I was informed of the $79 fee and Sears started to make an appointment. I hesitated and asked if the part I needed replaced was available, I was told that they had no way of determining if the part was available unless the service tech came out for a fee of $79 - only the techs can order parts.So I asked, just to confirm, The only way I can find out even if the part is available is to pay the $79 and have someone come out and look at it. I was told, Yes and that if I proceeded with the repair the estimate fee would be returned to me (Ill get to more on that in a little bit). I then asked if the part was not available, and I could not proceed with the repair, would I still be responsible for the $79. Again, I was told, Yes and that if I proceeded with the repair the $79 would be refunded. When I asked how they would proceed with the repair if the parts were not available I was told that would be up to the tech to determine. THAT MY FRIENDS IS SOME FINE QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT THERE! Unbelievable. So I said, No thanks, and hung up the phone.I proceeded to search the net for the part and I found it at Sears Parts Direct and it showed available and that it took an average of 1hr and 45min to install. After hitting the chat button and providing my model and serial number again, I soon found that I could have the part delivered to my house in a couple days for a little over $100 and it was guaranteed to fit. I was stunned. Not 10 minutes prior to this I was told by Sears Home Services that there was no way to know if the part was available and only techs could order it. Hmmmm...Armed with new knowledge, I called back Sears Home Services and asked what the rate ($/hr) or cost would be make the repair based on the information provided by Sears Parts Direct. They again stated that the only way they could determine how much it would cost would be to pay the $79 and have someone provide an estimate and that the $79 would be deducted if I proceeded with the repairs. I again informed them that I knew the part was available, I knew how much it cost, I knew how long it took to put in (according to Sears Parts Direct). Again, Sears Home Services informed me The only way we can tell you how much it costs is to pay the $79 and have someone come out, keep in mind that the $79 fee is removed if you proceed with the repair.Then it dawned on me, how would I ever know if it was removed or not? By paying the $79 and authorizing Sear Home Services to come out. I just signed up for some unknown cost, but I knew I would be out at least $79. I know the part cost and how long it takes to put in. But is that labor rate $50/hr? $100/hr? $350/hr? At some point the $79 is irrelevant and the process is preposterous.Let me apply the same process to something a little more familiar. You want to get something to eat. You go into a restaurant that advertises cheeseburgers (among other things), you ask how much a cheeseburger is and are told that the only way to find out how much a cheeseburger costs is to pay $20 and then a waiter will come over and tell you how much the cheeseburger is. If you buy the cheeseburger they will deduct the $20 waiter fee from the final bill. If you are there to offer them a chance to redeem themselves for a subpar meal you had there some time ago and you only went there because a few of your friends still say it is the great restaurant from many years past, that begs the question, would you drop the $20 to see how much a cheeseburger is?In checking with Sears Parts Direct, apparently Sears does not sell a service manual so that people can service their own appliances. It really is not that hard to do if you know how, the question is the know how. I guess by not providing this information Sears Home Services can keep the $79 racket going. Sears Parts Direct did suggest I try the Ask an Expert section of their website. I did and was unable to post a question/request there. I kept getting messages to try again later or that my search criteria was not found. So far I would say this is not Sears Parts Directs problem but rather an issue from some other Sears subsidiary that handles IT and is suppose to keep these sites going.I did email in my request for either a how to or a service manual. They again asked for the model and serial number, I responded and am awaiting a response. I will see what they come up with. I hope they can do better. I will update with their response. From my go around, so far Sears / Kenmore is not even close to what they used to be. A life expectancy of only 4 years for a $1,600 washer and dryer. Really? Sears has passed on providing quality service and quality products in the name of... oh jeez. I am not sure what they are getting in return besides a bad reputation. I was going to say higher profits, but reading the news - that is not the case. Corporate survival? That is questionable, again reading the news. If Sears is going to sell junk and not stand behind their own brand, there is simply no reason to continue to do business there.Relationships are salvageable, but it takes efforts on both sides. Dries clothes fairly quickly and wrinkle guard actually helps avoid ironing. Machine has been long lasting doing many, many loads per week. In the many years I have had this dryer, it has never required maintenance, which is a total relief. I consider that to be very reliable and would consider another Kenmore when this one stops working for me. This dryer is nothing fancy in terms of appearance, but with it being in the basement I care more about how it works than how it looks. Function is much more important to me. Probably spent between $300-400, has lasted many years without needing maintenance of any kind. Nothing fancy compared to whats out there now, but feel I have gotten more than my moneys worth.

Kenmore Elite 74043: I purchased this in 2015, on April 6 I realized neither the fridge nor the freezer were cooling. I had purchased the extended warranty. A Sears repair technician came out April 12 and ordered 4 parts. A dryer assembly, 2 evaporator coils, and a compressor. Today is May 3 and 3 of the parts have finally arrived but one of the coils was very poorly packed and I believe it may be damaged. If you call the 1-800 number you get someone overseas and they cant tell you anything about where your parts are. I was first given repair date of April 18, then 24th, then 26th, then May 4. When the Parts Dept. calls Im not planning to reschedule the repair, Im planning to purchase another fridge and we will discuss how Sears is going to reimburse me for my new fridge. No wonder they are in trouble!

I had a front load washer from a different manufacturer, but the pump went out after only 3 years, so I decided to try another brand. I have been very pleased so for. I needed a washer and dryer that would fit my quilts and larger items and these do the trick. They are great for those everyday items as well. I have used this brand for many years on other electrics and have never been sorry. This set has a very clean appearance and easy to use dials - not intimidating at all. They also have all of the basic wash and dry options that I need without all the ones I probably would not use anyway. The price I paid was as I expected it to be and about average compared to other options like these. The set up went very well and quickly - no trouble. I have had much more expensive sets, but have found out that I was paying for things I really did not need.

This dryer is slick looking, the door opens perfectly from top to bottom and the colour is nicely chosen. And then the lint trap is easy to remove and nice looking too. This dryer worked every time I used it and each setting works very nice. This is very reliable. The heat cycle is awesome. Also, the price is good and it has a good warranty for parts and labor. Ive had it for two years now and it doesnt show any signs of weakness. Im very happy with this product.

Dependable, long lasting, power saving. The washer I had was given to me used and lasted for at least 10 years. The dryer saved me on time and money and also lasted at least 10 years. The washer was great as far as large loads of clothes. It did at least 3 pair of pants, 3 shirts and a few weeks worth of underwear in one load. I had a mobile home and the washer and dryer fit like a glove in the area that was made in the hall and it made the space look a lot brighter and more modern. The washing machine and dryer saved me a lot of money a month. It cost about 35 dollars a month to run both of them and saved me twenty bucks a month on gasoline for the car and it usually cost 60-70$ a month going to a laundry mat.

Purchased a pair of HE Kenmore (Whirlpool) washer and dryer on June 23, 2016 for a total of $1,523 for the pair. After following the operations manual to the tee due to frustrations of clothes not getting cleaned, this washer without the traditional agitator in the middle just DOES NOT get clothes clean. So we tested the washer for two months but when we gave up, we found out that Sears will not take them back or replace even ONE day over 30 days. I AM CONVINCED THAT SEARS LOST CONFIDENCE TO STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCT! Equally, this is why I lost confidence and loyalty in SEARS. My wife and I have been wondering why Sears products and customer reviews have gone so bad that they have to close one hour earlier than everyone else and where did all the shoppers go? You can learn why real quickly by shopping at your nearest Costco, whose customer service is through the roof! I was willing to buy a new pair with the agitator in the middle of the drum to no avail. Sears management, what else are you looking for to gain back customer loyalty? If not interested, simply close up shop, and some other hungry retail chain will be glad to take your place.

Kenmore appliances can usually be seen on sale during any holiday and the savings is great. This is the best value of all brands around. These dryers last many years. I have never had a warranty and I never have any problems until I have had them for at least 8 years. Also, they are nice dryers. I like the look of these appliances. The buttons are sturdy and not cheap at all. They are usually white and are very appealing.

Mine are getting old and outdated but still does the job and I would buy that brand again. The appearance is not very pretty anymore, but they are in a washroom so that does not matter. What matters is that they are still after all these years still functional. I cant remember what I paid for the set 19 years ago but it was worth whatever it was. They have seen to my need and I do about 4 loads a week every week.

It does need to be cleaned to keep working well, but its worth it to have such a great washer and dryer. It also had a lot of settings so you can safely wash delicate items or avoid shrinking your favorite shirt! Its an incredibly reliable washer and dryer system. Ive had to clean it out a few times, but its normal. Its also great at washing all size loads. Ive had large loads of towels, and each one had come out clean and then were able to dry easily.They can sit side by side or they can be stacked on top of one another. I have mine sitting side by side and arent too bulky and certainly arent an eyesore. Overall they look sleek, modern, and simple. My washer and dryer systems were an excellent value. For how well they work, how it looks, and how long they have lasted me I got a great value. It also was a good price for all the features they have like being front loading & having multiple washing and drying options.

My washer is a top loader and completely white, same with the dryer, but with different settings. The washer for heavy or light loads, the dryer for regular or delicate. The value was average but it was worth it for the quality of the product. It takes about 15 minutes to wash and the clothes come out smelling fresh and clean. It works very well, the same with the dryer, and helps keep the colors bright and the whites white.

I have the same issue as J. of Waukeegan, IL (2/17/15) and I am sure many others that my Kenmore HE washer does not clean clothes. Although I have tried all different detergents (all HE) and all size loads and all settings including deep wash, two rinses, super wash and so on, the laundry comes out with white marks, dry spots (the section of the clothes that are folded do not get wet), and full of lint, fuzz and dog hair. My laundry comes out of the washer dirtier than it goes in. It is truly disgusting. I have contact customer service and sent them pictures and they eventually agreed to send a service representative. But the representative only tested if the washer was going through its cycles properly, he did not test to see how it washed clothes. I showed him the dirty clothes that came out the wash and the only recommendation that was given was to do three loads without detergent and then use only a small amount of detergent for all future washes. We have been only using the small amount of detergent as the representative indicated, however, we followed his instructions of running the three washes without detergent anyway and as we expected, it did not have any affect on the functionality of the washer. I am certain that this model just does not allow enough water to wash the clothes and since it is on a sensor we cannot adjust the amount of water. Before the representative was sent I clearly explained that the washer was working as it was designed, the problem was that it was designed poorly. Yet the representative was sent to only see if the washer was functioning as designed and made no effort to see if it actually washed clothes or to understand the problem (it was not the representatives fault, he was very polite and tried to help, he just wasnt allowed to do anything more). I am so highly disappointed that Sears will not help me but also so disappointed that they can have such a bad product AND they are not interested in understanding its product flaws and improving their product line.

It has lasted through being overloaded dozens of time plus a rocking rotor and a baby sock being stuck in the drum. I have even washed quilts and rugs. The overall appearance is not that flamboyant yet it does not need to be. I keep my washer/dryer combination clean and polished. I tried to wipe it down weekly. The value has gone beyond the passing point. The washer and dryer combo have stood up to generational use, baby use, grandparent use, cousin use.

It was nice knowing it was time to get my clothes out. I hate wrinkles. When I had my Kenmore dryer it was constantly being used. I had 4 kids and 2 adults to do laundry for. The only time it didnt dry the way I wanted is when the lint trap was full. Sometimes I would have to dry towels twice; I have thick towels. My Kenmore was white all over. Front loading, easy open and easy close. The control panel was on top extension. It made a clicking noise as you turned the knob. Writing on the panel was black and if I remember correctly brown. It did show dirt easily, so I was constantly having to wipe it down. I honestly dont remember what I paid for it. I know that it was the best value at the time. I know that I never did regret getting it or the price I paid.

I bought the front load washer and dryer. They are both large capacity machines which is great. However the washer begins molding within the first few uses unless we leave the door open after use. It also collects coins, hair clips and a wide variety of items in the pump and lines which caused its replacement the first year. Will never purchase another front load washer. The Dryer has been wonderful, but we have had to replace the heating coils after two years. Dries a large load very quickly though.

This is the 3rd one, and after 1 year it simply stopped, with the lid lock light flashing. Couldnt get it to self diagnose, so I bought a new lid lock ($56), and after running for part of a cycle it did it, again. Called the store... And SURPRISE!!! They have no record of the sale OR the extended warranty!! Same type of problems with the toaster, and coffee maker, so we will NEVER buy ANYTHING from Sears/Kmart, again!! Since we cant find the receipt, its a lost cause.

I would have to say the reliability of this machine is like no other. For the amount of time Ive owned this machine I have never had a problem. This machine serves me well. When I first saw this machine it was like love at first sight. It has this cool futuristic design about it and boy o boy do I get compliments on this bad boy. Actually, I believe I got terrific value on this. I bought the pair, washer and dryer at a P.C. Richards warehouse scratch and dent/floor models. This pair were a floor model. Not a scratch on them. They already had a sweet price tag on them and I managed to talk the salesman down another 20%. YeeeHaaawww and Merry Christmas to me.

I have purchased most of my appliances through Sears over the last decade. Considering how many large purchases Ive made thru the years I was shocked that when I went to Sears for help about my washer which we purchased 5 years ago they refused to help me because I did not purchase the extended warranty. In all fairness I NEVER thought that a Kenmore Elite washing machine would be Covered with RUST on the inside within 5 year. When you open the lid to the machine it looks like its 25 yrs old. It has completely eaten away in some sections around the detergent and bleach dispensers and the rear side around the rim. I am afraid to wash my childrens clothes in it and feel it is ridiculous that I should have to replace a washer every five years because it is covered in rust.I have never had any issues with my past purchases from sears. It is a shame that the first time I go to them with a product issue they refuse to assist me. This should NOT happen to a product in such a short time and when it does I would hope that Sears would stand behind their products realizing that if this is happening the product was poorly made and is now resulting in issues that are a health concern. If I wanted to be Replacing a wash machine every 5 years I would have gone with the cheapest machine and not Wasted my money on a Kenmore Elite. I have spent hours trying to get assistance from Sears. I Really was hoping to have someone help me.I called the store that I purchased it from and the Store Owner HUNG up on me when I asked for the DMs phone number to help me resolve this. He told me that I took responsibility for the product after the first year because I did not purchase the extended plan. I have never filed any complaint with a company but at this point I want to save other customers the nightmare that Ive had dealing with Sears and how they Dont stand behind their products.It saddens me to think that I have been a loyal customer purchasing two refrigerators, 2 washers and dryers, snowblower etc. over the past 9 years and when I need help on one thing Im told sorry. I regret that I have given Sears all my business for major appliances over the past decade. My drying drum was more than ample size for all my loads of laundry from jeans to towels to sheets - I never had a problem with my clothes being damp or drying unevenly. The appearance of my dryer was not aesthetically modern like the digital ones are; however, it had all the bells and whistles to get the job done. The amount of money I would spend doing laundry at the laundromat was more than my monthly payment - Not to mention the amount of time spent away from home which has no value because its priceless.

Both units have provided nothing besides headaches, damage to our clothing and frustration. I will never do business with Sears again (rumor has it you are going out of business anyway).First of all, my motor went out on my washer that has a 10-year warranty. Sears would not stand behind their parts warranty since I did not have the A&E guy come out and service it and pay him $75! It cost me for labor $114.50 and $147.00 respectively just for labor to fix the defective motor of your product. For the parts, it cost me $69.55 & $55.90 respectively. This was for the Stator Assembly and for the new wash machine motor. I have receipts for all of the OEM parts and service work that was completed by Tolson Appliance Center Inc. 540-347-3030. Jim did the work. Nice guy.The motor on the washer burnt out. The washer also leaks water when you wash towels and has a defective design flaw in how it vents the water in the back. My pan fills up and drains water on a regular basis. The unit is at fault and Im out of pocket now (not to mention the time and frustration) to fix just the washer - $386.95. The cost of the washer was $1127.99! This does not include setup, delivery etc., charges...We also purchased on the same date as the washer the Kenmore Elite dryer (dryer cost = $1057.49) model # 796.8102 (Electric). Its under four years old and nothing but problems, frustration and damage. In 2011, we had Sears come out and allegedly fix the removable lint dryer for $129.00 on Friday, October 14, 2011. Then we called and complained about the design flaw with the lint dryer filter (the removable slat that has the screen where each time you remove it to clean off the lint) a.k.a. lint trap. The customer service people said it was warped and sent us a new one. The same exact issue happened again in under 3 months. My Nike sweat pants are damaged ($60 bucks). All of my wifes camis are damaged; our 900+ thread count sheets from Italy are damaged. The dryer lint is a serious design flaw that is causing serious damage to our clothing and we are very upset. I have pictures and receipts of everything, all of the parts and labor service work and all of the damage to our clothing.Now, last week, the dryer stopped working. We had an A&E guy come out who said the motor in the dryer is fried and that to fix everything its going to cost us (with the new control board) over $500! This is crazy; not even four years old and both units are ready to be hauled to the curb and are causing damage to our home (leaking washer) and to our clothing, dryer - lint trap design flaw. Now I dont have a dryer that works and spent almost $400 to fix the washer and now you, Sears (A&E), want me to fork over $500 to fix the washer that is not even 4 years old! I dont think so; this has to stop! Im done doing business with SEARS and will not spend one more penny with SEARS Holding.Stand behind your products. Replace my dryer with one that does not have the design flaw with the lint trap, refund my cost to fix the washer (parts & labor) and replace my washer with a washer that does not leak. Does Sears sell appliances to fall apart in a few years and ** customers with repair, parts and service work? This is completely unethical. Why would someone design a dryer with the steam option that vents directly into the electrical controller board to make the board electronics damp and crap out? Why would a white box appliance that should have a minimum design life of at least 10 years be crapping out in under four? Why would Sears sell a washer that constantly leaks water and pose potential damage to home owners, their home and dryers and damage clothing?If you want to follow up with me on this, you call me. This dryer was so awesome that I never had to have it repaired. It stood up to the number of cycles I put it through and I still have it to this day. I hope I have this dryer forever. I love this dryer! It was a beautiful white color that blended perfectly with my washer and the decor in my washroom. The writing and dials on the dryer were subtle and easy to use. This was the best appliance in my home. Not having to lug all of my familys clothing to a laundry mat is well worth what I spent on the unit. I can do my laundry in the privacy of my own home. I couldnt ask for more.
